2022 Volkswagen Arteon

The 2022 Volkswagen Arteon is a rolling art display and the brand's flagship model. While the sleek four-door hatchback lacks the selling power of VW's ever-expanding SUV lineup, it forgoes popularity potential for a flashy sedan-like form and a surprising amount of function. Credit the latter to its large back seat and the generous cargo space under its rear hatch. While rivals such as the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima are more traditional full-size sedans, only the VW offers all-wheel drive. The Arteon's 300-hp turbo four is just as powerful as V-6 rivals, too, and its ride is appropriately refined, but we wish it was as exciting to drive as it looks. Its price tag is also precariously close to its corporate equivalent, the more desirable Audi A5 Sportback. Unfortunately, VW's interior execution falls short of an Audi owner's expectations. Still, the 2022 Arteon is elegant, well equipped, and endowed with class-leading versatility.

VW did not make good on a recall. The clock spring recall cost me $847.00 to fix on my 2012 GTI and VW will not honor the recall. Now they say my VIN number was not on the list like the ones before and after my car. VW cannot be trusted with owner safety. Please dont buy VW for your own safety.

I have been working on my 2.0 Diesel claim now for 3 months waiting patiently and every time I call they give me no information on how long it will take. My Forms were fax over month ago and when I log into portal it says waiting on Fax. When I call they tell me absolutely nothing other than I am waiting for them to upload my forms into the system. This has been the worst experience ever and I assure you they will never get my business again. The way they are handling these claims is an absolute joke. Their customer service I rate at 0 on a scale of 1 to 10. DO NOT BUY VOLKSWAGEN!

The intake manifold has failed on my boyfriends 2010 CC sport. This part has an extended 10 year/120,000 mi warranty on it. His vehicle is just outside of that warranty in mileage (121,500) and they wont do anything to ease the cost of replacing part. The whole reason they extended the warranty was because they expected the part to fail within 10 years, and its definitely less than 10 years old. Because other car manufacturers would take this into consideration and do some type of prorate of split the difference in parts & labor or something of the like, we called and asked them to do this. And they just dont care. No reason to build brand loyalty, I guess. Every time weve had to deal with them, it has been a head ache - the Takata airbag recall for instance. My mom has a Honda. Honda gave her a rental until they could fix the problem because it is unsafe to drive at the risk of having a collision and being pumped full of shrapnel from your airbags. She got her car back, fixed, 2 weeks ago, though she was in a rental for about a month. When we called VW about it then best response that we could get was why its safe to continue driving it around. Or how the NHTSA doesnt find it unsafe. The funny thing is, I research EVERYTHING. And according to everything I found, the NHTSA is who demanded the recall. VW responded with a letter as to why they should be exempt from it. The recall was issued in 2014, and VW just started recalling in February 2016. Shame on this company for caring so little about its drivers & for being so reckless with consumers lives in general. VERY disappointing. If you want reliability, you may want to go with a less expensive vehicle as they seem to have a better attitude and overall view of customer service.

This is the worst bank in history. I always had perfect credit until I made the biggest mistake by leasing through them. Since 2011 I have been trying to dispute inaccurate information being reported by them on my credit file, every time I had disputed it they in return come back with worse information than before adding more 30 day lates. This can not be legal and they shouldnt get away with this. They are the most frustrating company in the world to deal with. Dont ever buy or lease through them. They will report incorrectly and when you try to dispute it they will report back with worse information than before.

I have a new 2018 Golf GTI, I was surprised to find there is no cover for the battery, the terminals are both exposed. I asked the dealer if this was correct and they did not know, I called VW customer care and they said they dont know what they put on the cars, they are not able to answer technical questions, and I should ask the dealer. I said I had done so without satisfaction and was told to ring around dealers until I found someone who did know! I am surprised to find the two battery terminals exposed on a vehicle that is so complex, this is a potential shock and fire hazard. This is my 10th VW and I do not recall seeing the terminals totally exposed before.

My husband and I have had a 2015 Volkswagen Passat that we leased in Sept of 2015 from AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua. When we did this we were not given a choice of color, make, model etc., nor did they work within our budget of what we could afford for a car payment. They told us not to worry about mileage as we are now over our mileage that we were allotted for the 4 year lease. We have tried several times to trade it in for something smaller and they won’t work with us, they have called us multiple times wanting to buy the car back and we go up there and they tell us there is nothing that they can do for us. I have made several attempts to reach out to the sales manager and she will not return my phone call. She finally returned my call to tell me she had no recollection of the CEO of Volkswagen calling and speaking with her that she had no notes, but yet he called me to tell me he spoke with her and she would be calling me to see what they could do to rectify the situation. I again have put in another call to the CEO awaiting his return phone call to discuss this matter. If this doesn’t get resolved I will have no choice but to hire an attorney and deal with this Legally as we are not happy with the car and it has some mechanical issues that need to be fixed.

Bought a 2021 VW Atlas. Made in USA. Navigation issues. Accepts address but will not go there. Works on 80 % of address that are entered. Complained to VW, getting nowhere. They say it is a software issue. And is not their problem. They say I should deal with software company. I bought this car from VW not the software company. Customer service sucks. They are purchasing inferior products - to save money and not supporting their customers. Will never buy another VW.

When purchasing a VW product be aware of the total cost of ownership. Many VW parts are proprietary and the Company charges accordingly. For example, changing the battery on a key fob - $75 (requires programming), to replacing a door latch (including labor) $471.57, supplying an air conditioning hose (part only) $368.39. These are actual prices. When asked about their pricing policy VW North American provided an answer containing verbiage but no substance.

Volkswagen cc - I had started a 3 year lease in 2010. I did everything I was told to do and the car was serviced in a diligent and timely manner. Midway through the lease while driving with my 2 young kids the car stalled and would not restart. It was a horrible experience. The diagnosis was carbon emissions in the fuel exhaust mechanism or something like that. Ive since lost the records but Im sure VW has them as I submitted everything. They denied any responsibility and I incurred over 1200$ worth of damage and repairs. They stated that it was a part of normal service. This always smelled bad to me and I finally decided to throw my hat into the ring today only to find out that the cc is not covered. Needless to say Im very disappointed. This all still smells bad to me.

First off let me start by saying that I do love my 2013 Turbo Diesel Beetle
First off let me start by saying that I do love my 2013 Turbo Diesel Beetle Convertible, its the prettiest car on the road...and everyone asks me how I like it...I love it, love to drive it...love to look at it...and I take really good care of it. There are two design flaws, one is the keyless start...the other is the unfortunate placement of the hard wired iPhone charger INSIDE the glove compartment, so that if you need to charge your phone while driving you have to keep the glove compartment open. One wonders about German engineering. That said, the car gets rock star mileage and its fast. But I had to have the 10,000 mile service in Brooklyn NY because I was visiting family and could not do it in Maine. So the VW dealership in Bay Ridge Brooklyn houses a bundle of other car companies. ITs old, cramped, dirty, crowded and unpleasant. I brought in my almost brand spanking new car. I said, Im here for a 10,000 mile service, please take good care of my car. A loaner was provided and off I went. Later that day I came back to get my car. I asked for only one thing, to have the rear headrests taken off while they were servicing the car. When I got the car there were the headrests. I was told the headrests dont come off...I thought, well Ive had a few cars, Im no expert but every headrest Ive seen comes off. The service person told me, I was completely wrong that the service people pulled and pulled and they would not come out. I took out the manual, respectfully trying to show him that I not only know they come out but because there is limited rear visibility with the car, they suggest that they should come out when not needed. He said I was wrong again, I tried to show him in the manual how clearly defined the instructions for removal and how simple it was. He finally acquiesced and took the car back into the service area. Now let me ask the obvious question, IF the service guys didnt know that they could remove headrests do you think I would feel confident that my tires were correctly rotated or my oil was property changed? I think not. The car came back to me, headrests out, but soiled where the work was done. Gladly my service guy cleaned the grease...and I got into my car to leave and looked up and there on the right side of my windshield was a giant crack. Seriously. I couldnt even make this up. Now the service manager comes out. He tells me that it was a stone, how does he know this, because of the way the crack looks. Now this is coming from a person who manages people who dont know about headrests...and hes abrupt, no apologies...just aggressive...I say, but I brought in a car with no crack at 9:30 this morning and its 4:30 and theres a crack. Now can a car be serviced and not one person notices this crack...and you say it was a stone and when the car tires were rotated then it caused the crack to spread. Oh my GOD! He said hed take care of it on Monday, it was Friday. I drove my car home as the crack spread. I called him many times but he did not call me back. Finally Monday I got in touch with him and brought my car in. Guess what!!! No windshield on Monday, No windshield on Tuesday and No windshield on Weds (until Weds eve) why? Because they told me that it was not in stock at the auto glass people, then Tuesday the one they got in had a crack, and they had decided not to install a cracked glass (really?), and then today Weds I could get my car...but guess what - now they were not honoring the agreement that there would be no deductible, because they did not realize that my insurance was out of State...MY PLATES ARE FROM MAINE. Not one person really looked at my car. I hesitate with this statement but as soon as I leave NY and head back to Maine, Im going to have another dealer check and see if the tires were indeed rotated and the oil was changed, and if so if its all proper. Id be terrified to bring my car there again. They are so hard on the cars, they dont listen, they over talk you and they are obviously not knowledgeable about VWs. Its very sad to see this. I am surprised VW allows this kind of service representation. I have no recourse, the dealer is going to split the deductible with me. How can I fight this, I just want to return the loaner and have my car back and get out of there. I could have brought my car to any auto glass company ... but brought it back there because - well I must be crazy to have thought that it would go smoothly. Anyway, beware this dealership if you have a VW.

The GTI is one of the best all around cars on the market today as far as overall versatility. It may not be the best in any singular category (performance, mpg, comfort, etc.), but it’s cumulatively better than 90-95% of the cars that it competes against. The GTI’s changes over the model years have been subtle with VW finely tuning & refining a proven & successful platform. I’ve owned cars that were more luxurious, had more performance, were much more aesthetically pleasing design-wise...yet, the 5 GTIs that I own/have owned, have never failed to provide me with an exhilarating drive.

I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadsid
I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadside Assistance. On Friday, April 15, 2016 we accidentally put 1.5 gallons of gas in our nearly empty 2012 Jetta TDI. I called Roadside Assistance for support and they advised me to have the car delivered to the dealership. A master mechanic suggested that we could fill the tank the rest of the way with diesel and have no problem. Trying to make a decision, I asked the Roadside representative what they would do at the dealership. He explained that they would lift it up, drain the tank and flush out the fuel lines, and said that Roadside would pay for the service. I said Roadside will cover it? and he confirmed. Based on the fact that Roadside said they would cover the cost of the service, I chose to go ahead with the tow rather than dealing with the situation on my own.On Saturday, April 16 I called Harmony Motors, our local dealership in Asheville, NC to check the status of my car. I was directed to the voicemail of someone who would be out of town for a week. His message warned that no voicemails would be received until his return. I called Harmony Motors again on Monday, April 18. They were surprised to hear from me and said they had no record of my car being there and could not recall seeing it come in. The mechanic said he would search the lot and get back to me. After two hours of panicking that my car was stolen and several calls to the dealership, Roadside and tow service, I finally heard back that they had found my car. Roadside Assistance gave the dealership NO information about my vehicle. The tow service they hired left my keys in the car without notifying anyone in the service department. My car sat in the lot for three nights and two whole days before anyone knew it was there. Now its Tuesday, April 19. The mechanic finally called me back to tell me what service needs to be done, and that it will cost over $500. I told him Roadside said they would pay for it. He followed up with Roadside, then called me back to inform me that Roadside is not going to pay. So, obviously I followed up with Roadside. I explained the situation to the representative and she said the manager would listen to the recording of the call and get back to me. I was hopeful because the representative was very clear. The manager was Felicia ** from the St. Petersburg, FL office. She said she listened to the call and that Roadside Assistance does not cover repairs and that I misunderstood the representative. I urged her to have someone listen to the conversation for another opinion. I explained that I am confident it was not a misunderstanding, and that perhaps the representative was misinformed about the companys policy. Even so, they should adhere to any promises made by their company reps. She said that it states clearly in the manual that Roadside does not cover the cost of repairs and that this written policy overrides anything that is said in person. She would not let me speak to her supervisor and would not give me her full name (I retrieved that later from VW Customer Care). She was rude, impolite, insensitive, and crass.I then followed up with VW Customer Care. I waited on the line for 40 minutes before my call was answered. I filed a complaint about my experience and the representative I spoke with here was very nice and understanding. I received a follow-up phone call from the VW Roadside Customer Care manager who further confirmed that Roadside will not pay for the service even if the representative claimed that they would. The written policy overrides anything else. I explained that this is an unethical way to operate a business and its not how I operate my own. If a representative makes a claim to a customer, the company should honor that promise and then take it up with the representative.I have gone four days without my car, hours of stress and time away from work, and am now facing a $500 bill that I could have avoided if I had the correct information from VW. It is clear that this company is well rooted in dishonesty, misinformation, extremely poor customer relations and no understanding of ethics. I hope this story shares more on the truth of how VW operates and that their words cannot be trusted. So what have we learned from this? If you want an accurate representation of Volkswagens services, I guess you need to consult written documents. Unless you happen to be inquiring about clean diesel. Then, unfortunately, youre ** out of luck.

My car computer said the Convertible Top needed to be serviced. I hadnt used the top for about 6 months prior to the light coming on. I took it in to the local dealership and was told that one of the latches that hold the hard top on was not working well. They ordered the part and finally got them in 4 weeks later. They replaced the latches then called and told me that it still was not working and that there was a bent left hinge to the roof that was the problem. VW would only be able to fix this problem by replacing the entire roof for $9500. I created a case with VW USA and when they said that my car was 9000 miles out of the manufacturers warranty, but the car was still only 2.5 years old, and there was nothing they could do for me, I escalated an email to the CEO of VW USA. A department Assistant called me back, said they would send their field service manager for the region out to look at the car and get back to me. They would not give me any names of anyone that was looking at my car besides the dealership mechanics. They called back and would not help me with fixing the car. Essentially I was leasing a $20,000 car that had $10,000 of damage that I didnt cause and VW said, Oh well, cant help you. This was 4 months ago. Ive talked to several current and former VW mechanics and they all said that VW is the only shop that can fix the car. They did however share with me a tech-tip that shows a manufacturers issue with a grommet in the left side of the convertible top that can pop loose, causing the exact damage that Im experiencing with my convertible top. That was posted in April of 2013, and the dealership did not mention this or to my knowledge investigate it. I loved this car. Ive barely driven it over the last 8 months. Im so disappointed in VW for not only NOT rectifying such a strange mechanical problem, but expecting anyone to fix a car for the ridiculous amount of $10,000. The dealership was great and very helpful but I cant help but wonder if the hinge wasnt damaged by the dealership after the fact. The top still doesnt work and I have no resolution. BAD REPUTATION for VW. Every mechanic I spoke with said that VW are the toughest and most expensive cars to work on and they recommend to everyone not to be them. This is my first negative rating of anything, ever! I am so angry and truly disappointed that VW has chosen to not deal with this. Not that VW cares but I will never buy another VW and I will advise anyone I know to stay away from them as well.

I have a 2017 Touareg and the power steering went out almost two weeks ago (30k miles). I took it to the dealer immediately and they seemed to have issues figuring out how to fix it. They told me they were working with VW corporate to resolve it. After two days of nothing happening, I reached out to corp VW myself and got assigned to Colin **. His scripted emails were fluff and he wouldnt return my calls. The local dealer is telling me they cant figure it out and corp is telling me to take it 100 miles to another dealer to have it looked at. They love you when they are trying to sell you a car but they show no interest in providing good warranty service. If I could turn back the clock, I would not buy a VW.. After purchasing a brand new 2019 Atlas, it has been nothing but a nightmar
After purchasing a brand new 2019 Atlas, it has been nothing but a nightmare. From cylinders not firing, bad spark plugs, blaming us for putting bad gas in... Now on 3 visits, then a faulty battery which a corporate mechanic had to find. It has been nothing but a disaster! To top it all off, we want to get rid of this LEMON and that has become an even harder process. Not only does this car violate CA law for having multiple issues on a specific part of the car, my 3-year-old has been in the car with me on two separate occasions when it has decided to randomly shut off. VW corporate was not phased by this at all. When purchasing this vehicle, my husband and I turned in a perfectly good, special edition BMW and received this piece of crap! Instead of actually taking care of my family, VW corporate insists that they will only pay us for the difference of the BMW and car payments. Myself, my husband, and my sons life was in jeopardy while driving this car, but clearly empathizing with hard-working decent people is not in this business interest. My family has purchased from VW for over a decade, but that will not happen again. Not only are they not taking care of our needs while trying to split ties with their company, they sent a completely incompetent email to us with false options and that demand we send items to send to them? I am in the business sector and business is not conducted in such a fashion as this.I also want to point out that because the email was so poorly composed, I could press legal matters around the areas addressed. This is a very stern warning that if you are looking to purchase a family vehicle this is a horrific option. I am extremely disappointed with this company and cannot believe they claim to service everyone and will not accommodate those who have been experiencing issue after issue, two being highly dangerous, and do not know the meaning of taking care of loyal customers. Such a shame!!

2017 Alltrack. Had we known how dreadful our selling dealer and VWoA customer care related to a new vehicle purchase would be, we would have immediately turned around and never looked back. Upon delivery of our new Volkswagen, we found several issues that we addressed and were told that theres nothing we can do. VWoA is basically useless when customers have legitimate complaints, so much for VWoA s concerns about the customer purchase experience. Without going in to detail, lets just say our experience left a very unpleasant taste in our mouths. There was no delivery inspection record or documentation, the literature and accessories were unpackaged scattered around the cargo area, one of the remote keys was defective, the fluid levels were below minimum requirements, the Navigation SD Card was found under the front seat, but the dealers 4 metal logo was prominently affixed to the rear hatch with some type of super glue. This is our last Volkswagen purchase. We feel that all we are to the dealer is a number in their quota. Pathetic!

2012 Volkswagen EOS - I purchased this car used in Daytona Beach near the end of April 2017. Around September 9, the automatic transmission started slipping and clunking into gear. I brought it into the Volkswagen dealership. They looked at the transmission and told me that the transmission fluid had metal shavings. Of course they didnt know why. And because it has 64,000 miles (warranty is 60,000) I would have to pay for a new transmission. For parts and labor, $7,100! I bought it for $12,000 and it only books for $11,000. I called Volkswagen headquarters and one question they asked was, “Is this your first Volkswagen?” Anyway they got back to me and said nothing we can do for you. Only 4,000 over warranty and nothing they can do? Im still fighting with them. This was my first and LAST Volkswagen.

I want to put it out there that Volkswagen is the WORST car ever made. I bought my 2010 Volkswagen CC in 2013. From the first year I bought it, I have had nothing but problems. In July of 2015, I was in the line at Taco Bell, and my car just died. It would die EVERY TIME I stopped the car (at a red light, parked, etc.). I had to have the Fuel Pump control module replaced. In December 2015, I had to have sensors replaced. In June 2016, I have had my engine replaced when I took it in for the Steering Column Defective message. In July 2016, my Steering Column Defective message popped up yet again, so I took it in again. They replaced the Steering Control Module. A week later, the Steering Column Lock Defective message popped up again. I took the car back in and they replaced the Immobilizer. Its been about a week since I picked it up and today, the check engine light is on YET AGAIN. Let me just say, I dont miss oil changes, I do not rag my car out. I am a responsible adult who drives 16 minutes to work everyday and 16 minutes home. I do not take it across the country. I take care of my car, but this has been nothing but problems. Problems that are not maintenance. There have been recalls on the engine and the parts for the steering column lock defective issues. My VIN wasnt on that list, but yet Ive had the problems. My warranty company has put $10,000 into this car in the last 2 months. I have spent $800+ in repairs out of my pocket. My car isnt even at 100,000 miles yet. This company has done NOTHING to help me with these issues. I have contacted corporate on MULTIPLE occasions about this and they wont do a thing. This car also has the airbag recall. I tried to trade it in (AT VOLKSWAGEN) and they said because it has the recall, they cant give me but $6,000 for it. $6,000 for my car that I paid $16,000 for and that has MULTIPLE BRAND NEW MAJOR ITEMS!!! So not only is this car unsafe because of how it was put together and the parts that keep going bad, if I get in a wreck, my airbag may have metal come through and stab me in the face and kill me! But they dont seem to care about that. Trust me, buy a Toyota or an American car. My fiance has a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser and has had to replace the battery once. Thats it. He bought it a year and a half before I bought mine. Volkswagen, Im meeting with my attorney next week to get this fixed. It isnt right and the fact my car is constantly unsafe and you do not care, proves that you have no conscience as a company!

Only owner of this car (bought it new) and it has only 112,000 miles. I have complained about the transmission in this car since day 1. They scan and tell me nothing is wrong with it. Today I was told I need to replace the transmission for $5700!!! I called VW to see if there was anything they could do and all they tell me is that I am out of warranty (ends at 60,000) and there are no recalls. Stay away from this car.

Purchased a used 2010 Volkswagen cc about a year ago with 70,000 miles. Clean carfax, no accidents. I did have the understanding Volkswagens are expensive to have worked on, but also thought they are supposed to be well built and reliable. The car has been a nightmare from day 1. Just the last 2 months alone the has been in and out of the dealership 5 times. The intake manifold, all the fuel injectors, the fuel pump, fuel pump control module, carbon build up... on and on and just as horrible as the car is the dealership. Ship is just as bad (maybe worse). Volkswagen doesnt stand by their product. They know about all the problems people have with them and they dont care.Just with the fuel system alone I truly dont believe all those parts I mentioned above failed. I think the techs just kept throwing parts at it until it ran at my expense of course. I could keep going and going... Long story short do yourself a favor and buy another brand. I hope the emissions scandal puts them out of business. Every time I drive the car I now wonder am I going to arrive at my destination? Totally disgusted!!!

After four years of dealing with Volkswagen customer service I have made my mind up to never buy another! I like my 2010 Jetta TDI Sportswagen - its a nice car to drive and get decent fuel mileage. I have dealt with two different dealerships on various issues, and feel their service representatives are very poorly trained. Can you imagine one of them telling me that my spark plugs needed replacement - on a diesel, there are no spark plugs! Or a labor charge of $90.00 to replace the rear window wiper. The wiper itself cost $16.00 as a separate charge. This car has never been touched by anyone but VW dealers, and they stripped the oil pans drain plug out?? Then blamed it on me because I have the cars oil changed too frequently??The latest issue was an engine trouble light. They charged me $99.99 just to read the problem, then tell me the problem is your glow plug is bad. Diesel engine will not start without an active glow plug. I feel I am being ripped off. And when I total all the charges, I realize I would have been better off financially driving another vehicle with half the fuel economy. Today I got an answer back from corporate that they took my complaint and passed it on to the dealer -- whats wrong with this picture??? Before you invest in any Volkswagen product, consider their poor, and very expensive service work, and no help from the manufacturer. Customer Service Counts!!!

UNFAIR! I was an outstanding VW client and yet, VW was UNFAIR and DISCRIMINATORY to me! I leased a VW Jetta three years ago. I made all of my payments and have paid my vehicle down to its residual. I called VW credit and got a payoff and the payoff is my residual plus a $350 purchase option charge as my contract states. Upon wanting to trade my car in the facility, I called VW to verify the written payoff amount and to my great surprise, the payoff was $1,300 higher, therefore, reducing MY trade-in value by $1,300! I contracted for 45,000 miles but drove the car only 28,000 miles. Reminder... I paid for those miles with a lower residual and higher payments! My daughter bought a similar Jetta about the same time and sold it to the same dealership I was attempting to. VW credit honored her written payoff that was her residual value plus remaining payments not yet due, less unearned finance charges plus purchase option. No GREEDY increase! I am only asking VW credit to allow me to trade my lease in for what I have paid it down to. I feel I earned at least that by being an outstanding customer and making every payment perfectly on time. But VW HAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME and not treated me fair like they did in my daughters case. Did VW treat her fair because she is an attorney? I plan on never doing business with VW in the future! Plus, Im sure if theyre doing this to me, theyve done it to others. So I am seriously considering starting a class action suit!

I bought a 2018 VW Atlas SE Tech, terrible vehicle. DO NOT buy this vehicle! The safety system does not work. The start and stop system makes you accelerate rapidly when its on and you start moving your car (so, you may hit a car in front of you if its too close). The ICRS system does not work. The car will not brake for you. I have tested it many times COUNTLESS times and the system does not engage. Short of hitting another car or a pedestrian I cannot get closer to the real incident to prove it works. Lastly, if you are in an area that uses prime (water mixed with salt) do not buy this car. It will cause an accident. The car has driven me onto incoming traffic headed the other way, I had to drive off the road to avoid a collision. I took it to the dealership and they said it works, but did not prove it. I had to take their word. I tried crashing the car again to see if it works. IT DOESNT!! So, do not spend your money in that vehicle.

This is caused a dramatic amount of blood loss, a very deep laceration and several rides in the ambulance to the local medical facility. The edges on this compartment are seriously sharp. VW needs to make some changes. My husband is literally going to permanently secure this compartment that it is not accessible. Dear Rick **, I wanted to contact you regarding my experience with VW Board
Dear Rick **, I wanted to contact you regarding my experience with VW Boardwalk over the last month. I am sad to say that I have been very disappointed in the services provided. VW is viewed with a top of the line customer service and standard of care, and unfortunately I no longer can see this. I have been disappointed enough that I have decided not to continue servicing my vehicle with your branch. I was charged 1000 dollars at the beginning of the month for a service that included flushing my coolant and replacing the timing belt cover, which I was told was most necessary. Afterwards my car stopped working all together and I had to tow it to the closest VW dealership where my battery was replaced. In the midst of this my vehicle also had been broken into, shattering my windows and stealing my purse, which I understand is my misfortune, but this also led to delays in getting my vehicle to the shop.Following the battery replacement it was noted in the system by VW SF that the coolant was leaking as well as oil. This was never told to me, this was later pointed out in the notes during my last and most recent service. VW SF just replaced the battery and said I was good to go. The next day I noticed a puddle under my car, determined it was coolant and since your technicians had just worked on that system in which I spent a large amount of money I went straight to you. My car remained with the shop for two days before I got an answer that the water pump needed replacing. This was very curious to me as I had replaced it exactly one year ago with another VW dealer in SF and that your technicians had just finished working on that system, and said everything was taken care of. My understanding is that when a car is serviced these kinds of things are tested and addressed, please let me know if that is not the standard. I would hope that during this testing they would discover a leak in the very two systems they just worked on.I would like to note that at the first service on 9/10/2018 I was advised to replace the timing belt cover, this was necessary to prevent an oil leak, which again was noted to remain. In that service is also when I had my coolant system flushed, which then again was noted on 9/19/2018 to be leaking, all less than two weeks after the initial service. This information again was not shared with me verbally but noted in the invoice. Also noteworthy my warranty for the water seal expired on 9/20/2018. Due to the inconvenience of timing when the diagnosis was finally made, my one year warranty had expired four days before, leaving me with another very large bill. With all my concerns your representative heard me out, and said he would try to help as this was very much not fair. I waited his return call, left VM after VM, and never heard back for another two days. At this point I am without my vehicle and a little desperate to get it back. The representative said he would help me out and give me a good deal. I had other quotes at this time for much less, and considering VW wouldnt honor the very recently expired warranty, which is one of the reason I always have my vehicle serviced with them second to the standard of excellence I have always expected, I was considering cheaper options. The representative seemed sincere in his attempt to help so I gave your team a second chance. When I picked the vehicle up I was given a bill of 1300 dollars. 900 of that for labor charges. To me I feel I have not received the high standard care and excellence that I expect from VW. I leave my car in the hands of your employees and expect them to work efficiently and honestly. I expect them to report to me what is wrong with the vehicle as well as what needs to be fixed in order to keep my car functioning at its best level. And lastly I feel that I have been taken advantage of costing me not only money but stress and unease and a lot of my time. I am very disappointed as I am sure you can understand through this email. I honestly cant even trust that the work that was just finished is done properly or that the work I have had done needed to be done at all. I feel that the standard of performance, liability and honesty has been very much compromised. I also feel that guarantee of labor and parts doesnt actually exist. I really am disappointed that I no longer feel I can trust my car in the hands of VW representatives. If not them, then who?

We purchased a new VW Tiguan late last year from Flow VW. This has been a very disappointing experience. The car was delivered dirty and has had 2 recalls that took 6 months to fix. One was interior lights and the other was a washer fluid issue. Both are now fixed but while all of this is going on we find out at 19K miles we have to replace tires due to cupping. We only found this out after they rotated the tires. It was so bad that you could feel it in the brakes and it sounded like a wheel bearing was out. I was told by a manager to call VW as this was the only way to get attention to this problem. I was also told this was probably a issues from the factory. In my call to VW they stated that they don’t make the tires and therefore can’t warranty them. Pretty sad I was pretty sure the car has a VW emblem on it and not the tire brand. I’m a big Toyota / Lexus guy so this was a big risk I took buying a VW. If youre considering buying a VW do your homework in researching I sure wished I would have.

We have been a customer for 20 years. We purchased a VW Jetta in 2015. We have not had too many issues with the car. However, when coming back from vacation with 2 children in the car and we had a blowout at 9 pm on 64 E in Virginia. I pulled over to the side of the road, I then removed everything from the trunk to get to the spare tire. After pulling out the jack, and tire out of the car, I noticed there is no lug wrench. We called VW roadside assistance which dispatched a tow truck that I arrived 45 minutes later. We had the vehicle towed to our home which cost me $211.00. I went to VW the next morning to explain what happened and their sales manager said: Well you bought the car 4 years ago. It not our problem.I called customer service to file a complaint and received a callback and stated they are not going to do anything because the car was four years old. The sales manager was uncaring and did not even seem to care. I asked to speak to the GM and he stated he wont be in for 30 - 60 minutes. I waited to speak to the GM but never got to speak with him but was told they were not going to assist us with the tow cost. They would of if I had towed the car to their dealership. I said I had 4 people in the car (2 children) as well as a lot of luggage. After 20 years of faithful service with the company they did not care about their customers, they are only out for the money. As of today, I will NEVER BUY A VW again or recommended the dealership/company again. So much for Southern Hospitality.

Over the past three years, I complained to the service department (North Penn Imports) about the problems I was having. Each time, they stated that it was operating normally. I have each case documented. Now that the transmission has failed completely (does not go into gear or shift), the dealer and Volkswagen have denied my warranty due to the fact that I have some aftermarket parts on my car and that these parts caused the failure. I own a Tiguan. Its my 5th VW. This time I bought the trailer hitch addition to the MSRP for $550 new to pull a trailer. I knew I would be pulling a small trailer & ATV under 1500 lbs very infrequently. This package came with the 7 pin wiring harness so one would expect it to actual work trailer lights. I go to hook up the trailer, see the wiring harness but cant figure out how to hook it up. They had me bring it in and tried to hook it up. I then found out I had to spend an additional $400 to reprogram the entire vehicle, add a control module, & mounting hardware. I worked for VW for years & loved the product. I have referred many friends and family to VW. That has now changed. I gave them a chance to help out with the extra cost and they flat out denied to help even in a small amount. This put a very sour taste in my mouth and I will never refer another person to them. Emich is a great dealership but go to their Chevy store not VW. Volkswagen is a greedy, cheating, company that nickel and dimes their clients for any little thing they can. Never again will buy their product & will do everything to advise others against it as well. I dont think it is crazy to expect a 7 pin wiring harness to actually work the one purpose it is designed to work.

VW passat 2009 - I have seen many posts written about the tire cupping issue and was wondering if anyone had heard any explanations. I was told that the TDI and non diesel Passat have the same chassis, and this is the reason for the cupping. The suspension system should not be the same for the diesel as the non diesel due to the weight difference. Now, along with the FOURTH set of tires Im needing you buy (51000) I have learned two wheels have a crack on inner side which is causing tires to leak. Anyone else experience this?? VW CC owner - VW customer care is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I have 3 recalls on my car. The horn and steering controls don’t work because of the clock spring recall. The dealer only fixes the air bar but not the rest. So after the “work” was done my horn still doesn’t work and VW somehow doesn’t see how not being able to honk a horn in traffic is a safety issue especially if someone is about to hit me. I was also told that I would get a refund for a tow I had due to the fuel pump module recall. VW doesn’t offer refunds on that unless my mileage qualifies me. So 100$ gone due to their ** ups. Gross incompetence at the least, already filed a complaint via NHTSA, may do so with state attorney general. Volkswagen shouldnt be sold in the US. The customer service is awful and the warranty means nothing. I traveled to Michigan for a quick vacation. The car broke down hours away from my destination. Get a towing truck through road assistance was almost impossible. My car was sent to a dealership 2 hours away from where I was staying. 12 hours later I received a call to let me know they got my car and they were going to inspect it in 1 week, I was staying there for only 2 days. After spending 7 hours on the phone, I decided to take a taxi to get a rental car (the closest rental was 1 hour and a half away). Volkswagen couldnt provide me a loaner/rental. I had to paid for everything. Everybody I talked to over the phone told me to contact the trip interruption department. After spending 200 dollars in a taxi, I get a call that the car was ready. According to them, the car was not fixed correctly at the dealership in Chicago (Volkswagen Irving Park Chicago). Took another taxi the other way, another $200. Once I got there, the Muskegon Volkswagen rep told me the following: We reconnected a hose that they forgot to connect when they replace the crankshaft sensor in Chicago... Please note the car has only 25K miles and broke a few weeks before this. They charged me because a different Volkswagen made a mistake but trip interruption was going to take care of this. Long story short, I made it back to Chicago, mailed all the receipts as they told me to do and today I got a call to let me know the case was declined. This is not money related, I dont care about the money but I can tell that Volkswagen customer service is awful... In Muskegon, in Chicago... Everywhere... even the customer CARE. I dont understand how they do business with this poor customer care. Definitely, not buying a Volkswagen again. On top of that I bought the extended warranty!!! STAY AWAY FROM VW CHICAGO IRVING PARK... STAY AWAY FROM VW MUSKEGON... STAY AWAY FROM VOLKSWAGEN...

What car only lasts 87k miles that was built in 2015? This VW Golf, and it has also had multiple issues where it leaked coolant and had to be repaired twice outside of warranty. Now the engine has failed and VWOA has left me high and dry. I will not be purchasing another VW, they have lost me as a customer. I drive 30k miles a year and purchase cars often. This is unacceptable, once I fork out more money to VW for this last repair I will be trading it in never to return.

Again I am writing to you, this time to share my frustration with the Volkswagen product purchased and the response received when my situation was reported. Back in August 2017, I wrote you outlining my situation; being more specific, while going to work at approximately 7:40 am in “stop and go” traffic my car shut off placing it in a no start condition, had to towed it to my mechanic and I was told I had to replace the fuel pump and the fuel pump module. A representative from your office contacted me from the number ** during the third week of September, informing that my request could not be honored because the warranty on my car expired. Approximately three weeks later I receive a recall notice from Volkswagen informing there is a faulty fuel pump control module in my car.I am of the opinion that Volkswagen was aware of the existence of the defect and that I was place in a situation where there was an increase likelihood of the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. This is by far a bad representation of the Volkswagen product and I feel hurt I was placed in this situation; this is bad customer service! This is a clear case of trickery and or dishonest act for financial gain. As a senior citizen, I am very deliberate about where and when I spend my money. I intensely researched this product to great extent before purchasing it but to my surprise I was taken advantage off and I am outraged because I was deceived by your company’s practices.

Lost my only remote and key for my Volkswagen 2010 Golf. Recently purchase this car and the Remote/key worked perfect. I lost the remote and Remote/key a couple of days ago. Went to the Bozzani Volkswagen in Covina California, and order a new Remote/key for $300 plus. The key was ready in 2 business days and my car was towed to the dealer so Remote/key can be programmed. The Remote/key was program by the dealer. The remote didnt worked, but the key was able to start the car. The dealer told me that most likely was a wiring problem and they need to run a diagnostics on the car. How can that be? If the original Remote/key worked just fine. Im getting ready to contact the dealer again and tell them that I cant pay for the diagnostics since seems that the problem is the way the programmed the key. They really need to take care of this issue. They are responsible since they programmed the Remote/key. I will update this review once I contact the dealer again and see what they are planning to do about this issue. If they take care of the issue I definitely will give them a good review.

My VW Tiguan has been having some issues related to carbon build up, all cylinders misfired when cold and rough idle. Talking to one of the reps, told me that this issue was covered under my warranty and was a lie. Took the car this morning and now they want to charge me $900+ for an issue many people have complained about and no recalls have been made yet. I have found VW reputation to be a total **, don’t care about their customer at all, but money is all they want. I want to thank VW to open my eyes and look elsewhere and spend my money on products that back up their customers.

Even though they had a massive recall on this same issue and claimed it was resolved, it hasnt been. VW reviewed the case and determined no action was necessary on their part. Basically, sorry, too bad. Then 3 days at the dealer with no loaner. VW Customer Care is a hardly that. Customer- Dont Care should be the name of the department. I would rate my experience minus stars if you had such a thing. From the day I bought the car I was no longer important to the Tracy Volkswagen Dealership. They didnt have enough time to go over all the details of this new car and said we could have more time on the coming Sat. They never called. When I called them with problems of charging it, they told me they were on vacation, but if you come in I can give you a little time. When I asked about problems with Barnstable free chargers around Hyannis they didnt know why I couldnt charge on them. Said they would check it out. They never did. After a month of trying to figure it out myself I gave up and took it back. They wanted me to go the lemon law route. I told them I thought it was damaged and that they knew about it. That would be fraud to do the lemon law. I ended up paying them a total of over $5,000.00 to get out of the lease. The Corporate VW was no better. They had nothing to say to me, even though they had me fill out a survey for their company. I sent them letters, all the information and copies of everything and nothing. Im warning you, do not buy from Tracy Volkswagen in Hyannis Ma.

I purchased a VW Jetta TDI in early 2010. By mid-2011, the Air Conditioner was not working properly and I needed a new Compressor that cost me $1200. Approximately 3 years later, I am told that I need another compressor because the A/C is not working. I have had this vehicle for approximately 4 years and literally it has had 3 compressors. I am about to spend $1400 on this 3rd compressor and Volkswagen Customer Care Unit people state that there is no assistance they can provide. The car has too many years on it (a total of four) and I will have to pay for the 3rd compressor (I paid for the second one too). The only comment I have is that I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VW VEHICLE; IT IS CRIMINAL AND PATHETIC THAT A COMPANY STATES 3 COMPRESSORS IN 4 YEARS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. What a hypocritical Care Unit. I have received no satisfaction and I would never recommend purchasing a Volkswagen vehicle.

I came across reviews for VW they were all negative. I took in reviews into consideration, however, I thought to myself that some people just like to complain. My bad y’all. I should have listened and ran the other way. This unethical company is the scums of scums. I bought a brand new 2018 GTI in July of this year. I was treated very very poorly at David Maus VW South. They even charged me for a $600 package that’s suppose to be free, all because the car was transferred from their sister lot David Maus on LEE Rd. A few days after having the car the visor underneath the sunroof retracts on its own. I constantly have to keep pulling it forward, warning light came on saying it cannot detect the key fob. Mind you the key fob is in the cup holder. As of 09/19/2018 the “one touch feature that opens the sunroof stop working. Now I have to open the sunroof manually. Ok y’all so how bout I’m driving on 2 separate occasions when I press the break the lights flicker and the car shuts off!! So in conclusion VW are unethical, criminals, and soon they will be labeled as MURDERS. How can I feel safe in my car when ** like this is happening. DO NOT BUY A VW. Brake control on the passenger side of my new VW Golf (2016) - Travelling along the M6 just overtaking when wheels locked up - managed to gain control and continue also causing myself to be slightly injured to the hand. Reason passenger pressed a lever/switch on the passengers side thinking it would open a lid. It was the parking brake which locked the wheels and nearly caused a serious accident as the controls are on the passenger side. This could happen again easily and our biggest problem: we have four children so one often sits in the front seat. This has made the wife dreading taking the car out, maybe would, could blank it off with tape or a cover while the problem is rectified? Strange that VW spend so much on research and make a fundamental design problem. It could be that a wrong console has been fitted and one from a left hand drive installed. This could be checked out by looking at a left hand drive car? Check out the showroom that all Golfs have the controls on the passenger side, I have now found out that the design fault is only on right hand cars. I think it was a money saving idea not to fit the switches on the drivers side which I pointed out to the VW person contacting me which he was not aware of. He also informed me if I do anything to try to make it safer it would void the guarantee of the car. Said there was no plans for this to be correct in the future and no more correspondence would be entered into. The incident has made my wife paranoid about having a child on the front passenger seat. I could tape up the switches or try to build a box around them but it really is a dangerous design fault. We tell passengers not to touch them when they get into the passenger seat. The incident happened on a motorway at about 70 miles per hour just as I was about to overtake. Fortunately, as I was doing an overtaking maneuver, there was no one behind me. I injured my hand on the steering wheel and twisted my neck - the pain which only lasted the rest of the day. I did contact the dealer in January who sold me the new car and reported the fault - they have contacted me and it seems that they only offer me understanding of what I experienced but said I saw what I buying in the showroom and all the VW Golfs are build like this. I did point out that was not correct and it is just the Right Hand drive models that have this arrangement. Would like to know if I am the only person that has complained or experience about this fault?

Why VW Corp is surprised to see US sales going down? It is the bad quality that eroded the trust and market share. I have bought a VW CC 2014 R line in September 2013 and it had issues after issues from Wastegate rattle, clock springs, sway bar etc. Even after taking it 5 times and 4 clock springs later, the car makes loud rattling noise on regular Highways in Texas. I just cant imagine a 35K USD car could make such rattling noise from the steering column area. The VW Tech came out with an excuse normal characteristics where as cheaper Jetta & Passat do not make that sound on the same road surfaces. How could you fix quality control issue when this pervasive nature exists from the front line VW technicians? How could they flag issues to rectify parts design flaws if they play this game? VW CEO can dream on to be one but he cant rattle his way up to number 1!

My son was parked with the engine running, listening to the radio. The engine burst into flames and exploded three times. He was parked up against a building across the street from our apartment. It was determined it was due to a malfunction in the engine, and we were reimbursed for the car by our insurance company. Our son could have been killed, but Volkswagen, which is doing a big ad campaign about safety, refuses to pay the building owner for the damage or to reimburse us for our $1000 deductible. There was a recall, but even though we bought the 2-year-old Bug from a dealership and had it serviced at a dealership, we were not advised of this major problem with the car. Forget safety in a VW. I thought I loved VW. Heck, I use to live in a town just outside of Wolfburg, GE. (Erkerode) It was a happy day when I purchased my 1st VW Jetta TDI. Drove like a champ and great on gas. Main reason I got it was because my daily commute was 2hrs 15min 1 way (all highway). Everything was good. Getting oil changes and services IAW VW. Then the emissions scandal happened. And I wont drone on about that. But, shortly thereafter I had a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) problem. No worries, I thought, Im still covered by Warranty, just barely. Bring her in to my local Dealership, they take a look and say that they need to do a manual regeneration. Next day, I pick her up, warning lights are off, and everything is good to go.The following day, I make my trek to and from work. And wouldnt you know it, the DPF light is back on. I call up the Dealership and drop her back off at the next available appointment. The kind folks at the Dealership even put me up in a Courtesy Vehicle. The next day I pick my car up after they explained to me that they had to do a deeper cleaning. Hey, no worries, this is all covered by Warranty. I happily drive home thinking that this issue has been resolved. Weekend goes by, Monday is here and I make my way to and from work. I get home and lo and behold, the DPF light is back on. Now Im getting frustrated and its apparent that something else must be wrong. I call the Dealership and they tell me that the only other thing they can do is replace the DPF altogether. It doesnt seem right, but they are the experts and it is under Warranty, so I drop her off. I get my car back, drive back and forth to work a few times, problem solved...Or so I thought. 20,000 miles later, I get a new set of lights on my instrument panel. This time its a flashing Glow Plug light, the Check Engine light, and a text display of a flashing wrench followed by the words Inspect. Wow, thats A LOT of stuff. But hey, at least its not the DPF light. I take a glance at my Owners Manual (OM) to see what these things mean. According to the OM, both the flashing Glow Plug light and Check Engine light means Engine Control Malfunction, and the flashing wrench had to do with the Transmission. GREAT... I just put a new transmission in my other car, but thats neither here nor there. I call up the Dealership and schedule an appointment. They have it for a day and then the Technician gives me a call to inform me that the codes came up for the DPF. So what they needed to do was run a regen and it would cost 300 something dollars. At this point, Im out of Warranty. If money is coming out of my pocket, Im going to make my questions and concerns known. I proceed to ask the Technician that if its a DPF problem, why is it that the DPF light didnt come on AND how is this possible, VW JUST replaced the DPF. Needless to say, he did not have an answer for either of those questions and said that hed give me a call back in 10 minutes or so. About 10 min go by and I get a call from a Service Rep that is familiar with my car and the whole DPF dilemma. She proceeds to tell me that they are going to investigate the matter and contact the main VW Tech something or another. The following morning, she gives me a call to tell me that VW Tech said it is a Failed Temp Sensor and that it will cost $2,625.14 to get it fixed and that I should call VW Customer Care about this to see if they can help the situation.ROFLMAO, they must have lost their minds. You mean to tell me that had I not questioned their original findings, I would have dropped $300 only to have the same issue keep popping up. So I did a little research. Apparently, when the Glow Plug light and Check Engine light pops up, it does that because the DPF is at 75% loading or is saturated with 40 grams of soot because the regen process isnt kicking in. And you dont have to be a genius to come to the assumption/conclusion that if the regen process (which cleans the filter), isnt activating because the Temp Sensor is bad, that driving approximately 20,000 miles without a proper regeneration occurring could lead to a DPF with 75% loading.Meaning, the Temp Sensor was most likely faulty the 1st time I was having the recurring DPF problems, only money wasnt coming out of my pocket at the time so I didnt question it, therefore the Dealership Technicians didnt further investigate it and come to the realization that that was the underlying issue. Quite convenient for VW. So, I take the Service Reps advice and call the VW Customer Care number that same day (today). The representative on the line was polite, and after a lengthy discussion she informs me that there is nothing they can do to help because my vehicle is no longer under warranty. She ALSO tells me that this $2,625.14 operation is just a suggestion from VW Tech on a possible resolution to my issue. That the VW Tech is not saying that the Temp Sensor is bad, but that it COULD fix the problem.WHAT... Youre telling me that I cough up $2,625.14 for something that VW most likely missed the first go around AND it may or may not resolve the issue... Thats unacceptable. On multiple levels that is unacceptable. 1st, that I have to pay for something that the Dealership missed/misdiagnosed the first time around and 2nd that they expect me to pay this sum of money when it might solve the issue, but they are not sure. So, I asked the kind lady if there was another number that I could contact to voice my displeasure/concern and was told, Im sorry, this is it. The sad thing is that this was a great car until the DPF issue. It was so good that my wife was wanting a VW as her next car, despite the Emission Scandal. LoL, needless to say, while typing this up, she sent me the following text, Well no more VWs for us.

2011 VW Golf TDI Engine Problems - So I purchased my Golf new in 2011. It has ran strong and I have had very few issues which were all very minor. After putting 70k miles on the car I had to replace something in the front end which cost around 1000 dollars. Now at 130k miles the check engine and glow plug light came on. The cars power reduced by 50%. A few miles down the road it completely shut down. Had VW conduct a diagnostics. They told me that my high pressure fuel pump HPFP had failed and contaminated my fuel system. Also the catalytic converter and particulate filter was shot. Oh yea and need to replace the water pump and fix the timing. So, the parts list was 2 pages long and the total including labor was over 8,000 dollars. Let me remind you that this car is a 2011 model, 95% highway miles and is in good condition. I have truly enjoyed driving this car and expected many more miles out of the TDI engine. I havent had the repair completed yet. It going to cost more than the damn car is worth. I have mixed emotions about owning another Volkswagen.

I purchased a new 2010 Golf TDI a few years ago. My first VW ever after owning everything from Mercedes to Scion. Ive been impressed by the comfort, performance, and fuel mileage. My problem started about six months ago when, without warning, the car failed to start. Checked all typical causes with no success. After the cost and inconvenience of a tow to the dealership it sat there for several days. They were unable to find the cause of the problem as it started for them. They charged me $105 for the privilege of doing nothing.Fast forward to a few days ago, exactly the same symptoms as before, no start. Towed to the dealership an entire day wasted waiting. The car gets to the dealership and the mechanic goes to look at it and it starts.... Car is at dealership for several days again and the service manager eventually tells me they cant duplicate the problem and cant do anything more.By this point Im furious and call VW USA Customer Care, several phone calls later they essentially tell me the same thing, sorry cant help. So I have a car in the garage Im afraid to drive because of the likelihood of being stranded yet again. I will NEVER buy another VW product; Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Ducati, etc.Heres the totally unacceptable response I received after posting to VW USA Facebook page: Were very sorry to hear about your experience, and we apologize that we were unable to meet your expectations. I just received a huge turn-in bill from VW. This was the fourth (and last!) VW I have leased. I asked them to reverse the $350 return fee (pure robbery) and they would only reverse it if I leased a fifth one. The Tiguan was poorly made. The ceiling lining was slightly loose on one side because of a leaky sunroof. The dealer said to take a picture and fight the charge. I called VW Credit and the person refused to reverse the charge and said I should have taken it to the dealership. I was charged $258 for that. I told her that I had leased 4 Volkswagens and that didnt make one iota of difference to her. For what is a tiny degree of money to VW, they have lost a customer. I re-titled my car from VA to IL in late 2019. After receiving my state transfer packet from VW, I called them before I went to the DMV and told them I thought I was missing a document in my packet. They assured me I had everything I needed. When I went to the DMV, they informed me I was missing a document that I told VW I needed earlier in the day. This caused a significant delay in re-titling. I had to pre-pay my taxes on the car for 2019. I submitted paperwork to VW showing that I had retitled the vehicle so I could receive a credit on the taxes I had already paid, and they told me I would have a resolution in 6-8 weeks. The car looks great on the outside, the inside as well. Very comfortable car and spacious. The drive is smooth and affordable in gas. Its not a big SUV and not too small. Enough room to fit 5 people and a large trunk. Very happy with the design of the vehicle. As for the engine, I did have a few issues. Instead of a timing belt its a chain which needs to be changed and very costly. The pieces are ok in price but had to add some extra money on top of my payments. That was the downfall of this purchase.

Had the same issue on my 2019 Tiguan. Contacted VW customer service and they not only stated that “oil consumption” is normal but it’s acceptable to “consume”a quart per 2k miles… I traded the tiguan for a Toyota before it devalues further. After 4 VWs and 3 Audis it was time for change due to VW and the dealer not giving a flying **.

VW are liars. They shortchanged me on the diesel buyback. They are giving me 1/2 of the original offer even though I have put zero miles on the car since the original letter. They have customers at their mercy because no one can afford to risk they damage the car before the buyback. I thought I was smart and bought a new car and stored my car at the VW Dealer. I called to complain and got the runaround and transferred from one person to another until I was so annoyed I gave up. They have lost me as a customer.

I own a Volkswagen Touareg and during a rainstorm, water drained into the fuse box and destroyed the system circuit. VW is claiming it is not a recall therefore, they will not repair the damage. The service dept told me there had been another VW in their shop two months prior with the same problem and it cost that owner $7,000. My cost is $15,000+. Why is it auto manufacturers do not have to stand by their products? If I sold a product that was defective, I would have to fix it or replace it. As a consumer, I am very dissatisfied and angry that I should have to pay for a manufacturing defect they know exists and refuses to fix it.

I purchased a brand-new model of 2016 VW Golf GTI last year. I havent driven it much, which only has less than 4000 miles on it now. Recently, I had a flat tire due to the poor quality of Hankook tire (made in Korea) used by VW manufacturer. My flat tire happened when I was driving on a freeway (in very good condition) when the passenger side front tire suddenly burst a hole in its sidewall with no road hazard present. I called VW local dealership but was told to contact Hankook (the tire maker) directly by myself.Hankook did not follow the companys established procedure for handling tire warranty, but rushed to an arbitrary judgement on tire damage in its own favor, insisting on saying it was caused by road hazard. It never allowed the local VW dealership to fill out a tire warranty coverage claim form on my behalf. I paid $200+ out of my own pocket for tire replacement. I deeply regret that VW chose Hankook over other better tire brands. Hankook tires poor quality makes VW vehicles prone to road accidents. It also makes VW look cheap. For these reasons, I would strongly advise fellow motorists not to consider VW Golf GTI among their purchasing options.

We bought a 2020 Tiguan six months ago. This car likes to stop itself in the middle of the street for no apparent reason. If you read more reviews online, you will find it’s a common problem. VW reviewed the case for 2 months only to let us know they weren’t going to do anything about it. Terrible customer service and seems to have no concern about driver safety. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I dont recommend this dealership especially since it is one of only a couple of major dealerships inside of DCs borders. There is likely to be racial and gender discrimination. I think most people wouldnt want to be associated with this dealership in such a multi-cultural area.

2010 GTI needed an alignment 1 week after purchase. 3 weeks after purchase the car lurched and made screeching noise - faulty clutch and flywheel replaced at 600 miles. At the same time the door trim came loose on drivers side and needed to be replaced. Tires were cupped due to suspension issues at 10k and needed to be replaced + another alignment. At 30k, the air box failed (WTF) and needed to be completely replaced. At 48k the WHOLE AC SYSTEM FAILED and needed to be replaced. At 49K, the ignition failed. Now here we are at 51K and the PAINT IS PEELING off the roof and hood. This is a 3 year old car! I have never seen such poor workmanship. I will NEVER buy another and will sell it as soon as I can.

Fred Beans VW service-department of Devon PA - Dont trust the hype when VW
Fred Beans VW service-department of Devon PA - Dont trust the hype when VW advertise coupons or the Hundred plus checks they are suppose to perform while the car in service. It can work against your favor because they are looking for issues to charge you extra. In May 2013 I bought a SE-Passat V6 included with the price of the car a 54000/4yr service contract. The vehicle was purchase as an CPO, which means it had a few miles, I think roughly 5000. Being I am more prevalent to conventional, I am growing with synthetics. In saying I am use to changing oils every 3000 miles not 10,000. I am a meticulous car owner. This car in 5 yrs had roughly 33,500 miles in December 2017(with a VW OIL SPECIAL COUPON) which covered up to 5qts of oil, during a unconventional oil change prior to, I look under the hood and notice oil film on top of the engine. I address the issue and ask why this was not brought to my attention or address by the service department while the extended service warranty was in effect? To create oil film which was visible means it took time for the matter and the amount of times and in the increment the car has been in for service over a short period it should of been address while the car was under warranty. At that time they agreed to disagree and told me it doesnt mean its leaking oil. I took heed what was being said however they didnt understand or know in my youth I was a mechanic and built cars.My free oil change just cost me a deductible plus. After the oil change the car virtually was parked (except for a few runs to the market) until May 2018, State-inspection Time. When I purchase the car I immediately changed the tires and since 1979 I have bought mostly all and into agreement with NTB. They have a the best Alignment plan bar none to others retailers. I have owned many cars since my Military years. I was told the car pass inspection May 2018 although a few concerns should be address. One tires was showing signs of dry-rot (not an issue). I have coverage. And the serpentine belt (34,800) was showing signs of wear, my reaction was, Oh really. (Again I reintegrated it should of been replaced when the car was under warranty) The service rep claim it was not covered under the service contract I disputed his claim.Folks the Manufacture warranty is 3/36000. This is why I dont prefer buying vehicles with short warranties because the manufacture takes into account their product isnt reliable. And I cover extensively at the time of purchase what is and whats not covered and the plan I had covered everything except, Tires and brakes and I will admit I forgot the $50.00 deductible associated with a service plan. I recall asking Belts for ex: Timing belt and serpentine belt those items were included with the purchase in May, 2013 the car came with platinum plan.In conclusion, when a man is talking over my merchandise (car) I listen with both ears. After discussing my concerns with the rep he spoke with his Manager. As he walks down the corridor he tells me straight to my face I would pay the ($50.00) fifty dollar deductible. I replied, OK. In my mind I am counting the cost of the State-Inspection and the additional $50.00 deductible. The Bill presented was $289.00. I am about to blow a gasket and lose my religion. I ask for the manager (hes in a meeting) like I give a rats **. After 15 min he approaches with an caveat attitude,.. whats the problem. I was told I would be charged the deductible (in my mind Im saying wtf is this). The rep intervenes and says, I told you I would charge you less $50.00 of the actual cost. I replied, No you did not. Well folks I was caught in-between a web. I had a important meeting to attend and they had my car. I paid the bill,... and sold the car within two weeks. I will never purchase another VW. I forgot to mention I was (as the car was being service) negotiating on a 2018 Atlas I drive currently and own a Mazda 2018 CX9 Signature. I suggest use those smartphones during a conversation and record.

TRUE EXPERIENCE - If you are making a decision on what to purchase as your next reliable car, do yourself a big favor and DO NOT PURCHASE A VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN!!! I had been a loyal VW customer for 15 years and I owned a 2011 VW Tiguan brand new. I had heard that the Tiguan was a reliable, well-made car. I couldn’t be more wrong!!!My major repairs started with the replacing of the rear differential (few gears broke off from a sealed unit), to then replacing the turbocharger which I was told was defective. Then I had the timing-chain break while driving the vehicle, so a replacement was needed, along with a now damaged head cam. To top it all off, the entire engine seizes while on a highway and had to be replaced. The price tag to replace the damaged engine was $11,000 from the VW dealership. All of these major repairs happening at under 80K miles!!!While the sales staff at that particular dealership was very helpful in getting me into a new NON-VW car, corporate VW was the exact opposite. Their reply to me was that they didn’t have a program in place to compensate me for my troubles, despite the obvious flaws in their car models design. The fact that I had a low-mileage car with high out-of-pocket expenses was of no concern to them. So take my advice, and I have nothing to gain from this. If you do not want to pay high exorbitant repair bills, AVOID VOLKSWAGEN AND DO NOT PURCHASE THE TIGUAN!!! This car is unreliable with obvious design flaws throughout. Trust me, I experienced it.

They told me they need to replaced it. Again it blown out apparently idk how in the hell in less than 2 years and expect me to pay over 1k to get it fix. As of today somehow in a miracle my radio turned on and I called them to ask for explanation and of course I never heard anything from them. Never again.

I hit a small deer one month ago (drivers side light, hood, quarter panel). The insurance paid for the body work, but not for a spastic, drivers side door. The car (VW 2002 Golf TDI) thinks the door is open all the time and alerts me. When I turn on the lights at night, the alert screams at me. The dealership, which Allstate Insurance made me tow the car to, says this happens to the door all the time even if you hit a pothole and jar the car. The dealership is a 3-hr round trip from where I live and there is a certified VW mechanic in the next town from me, but Allstate wouldnt let me take it there. I told the adjuster and dealership that nothing was wrong before the accident, but they say it is something that happens on VWs a lot. Why isnt there a recall on this if it is so prevalent. And if hitting a pothole could cause this problem, why wouldnt an accident do so also? I will never buy another VW. I have put a lot of money into this car (VW maintenance costs a lot!). Its a 2002 model, but I had a Honda that I drove for 20 years before any major money had to put into it. This has been a nightmare not having a car for a month and living in a rural area.

I bought Tiguan model 2012 from the dealer in Abu Dhabi. I am the only driver, and exactly after the 3 years warranty expired, I started experiencing major problem with the car. For example: leaking coolant pump, boot cracked, noisy bush cracked, stuck defect, and more. I have just replaced the roof cetane (damaged with no obvious reason) and cost me almost 1000$. And last year there was oil leakage which required costly replacement. I would like to know why this is happening to a new car. Never happened to me before with other make. Please do respond to my concern.

Bought my VW CC in 2011. Everything was fine up until 2016. Started having issues with it. Just got it back 3 weeks ago. Had to have the timing chain fixed. That bill was $3200. Had to take it back 2xs after that to have the intake runner fixed along with the rear main seal because of oil leaking. Those two jobs cost me an additional $1000. Fast forward to today. Started having issues with the car not going into gear. Went back to the shop. Theres a problem with the driveshaft. Cost to fix... $3200-$5000. This is so unfair. Now I am either forced to fix it or purchase another car. Either way Im spending more money I truly dont have.

I leased 2 vehicles from Volkswagen and then was forced to buy one as the first two sales agents let me get $9000 “upside down” in equity without telling me. The last car on the lot was a demo and the only one they said I could have. It has had electronic problems since day 1. Windshield wipers turn on by themselves. Bluetooth and radio audio are sporadic at best. It’s a lemon that was left on the lot as a demo and they saw a way to dump it on a Customer who had been screwed on their lease agreement.

My five years old 2011 VW Tiguan had two major mechanical problems. One problem with the fuel injection was fixed for free because of the recall. Another problem was the antifreeze leak that would cost me more than $3K to fix. That made me decide to trade it in for the reliable Volvo. One week after giving away Tiguan, the second car made by VW Jetta Sport Wagon 2013 didnt start. The dealership diagnosed sensor problem that can be fixed for only $300. After few hours they call us back (probably thought they didnt ripped us off enough) and told us that the computer is broken and need to be replaced. It will be another $1600 + $300 for the sensor that might be broken or not. We are very scared to hear from those VW people tomorrow. The car is very expensive and in the hands of people we dont trust who keep finding wrong things with very costly parts. I already told my sad story everyone I know. At this point we used to have two new cars and ended up with nothing just because we shopped at VW. I hope people learn from our mistake and that VW manufacturing stop producing these very expensive but so below lowest quality cars.
