Leased a vw cc for 36 months. Great price, good car. Tried to return it, vw leasing contracted independent evaluator to inspect the car. Tried for 10 days to get them on phone. Tried to go on their website. Malfunctioning. Frustrated, called the dealer where I bought it, they said bring it to them. I was penalized 400.00 for not buying another vw, even though they raised the price 8k on the same car no improvements, ridiculous!!! Then assessed another 400 for excessive wear. I refused to pay vw credit. They threatened to turn me into a collection agency which would ruin my credit. Funny thing is I had a body shop touch up the entire car before returning, I inspected it. Had Michelins on it in good shape. Read their lease before you sign, I will never buy a VW again.

I had a MAP sensor replaced after the engine light came on. It came back on again after a month. Today driving and less than a 1/2 mile from home a warning came on and read low oil pressure engine off, but it never did go off. I pulled up a few recalls Friday before I left work, one being the MAP sensor and creaking of the suspension (I heard it a few times but thought maybe it was just cold) and worn, cracked CV boots. I contacted the dealer and currently waiting for a appointment to address the recalls. You can find most recalls on the Chiltons Library.

We bought a 2020 Tiguan six months ago. This car likes to stop itself in the middle of the street for no apparent reason. If you read more reviews online, you will find it’s a common problem. VW reviewed the case for 2 months only to let us know they weren’t going to do anything about it. Terrible customer service and seems to have no concern about driver safety. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Expensive repairs after 60,000 miles. Most of the VW 2.0 liter TBI engines are known for water pump failures. IN December 2019, VW added an extended warranty to your car you probably do not know about. If you take your car to the dealer for the warranty extension repair, they will probably tell that oil leaks, another VW problem, caused the pump to fail, and they wont honor the warranty. Now if you already paid to have your water pump replaced, you need to join the class-action lawsuit for compensation. It is ridiculous that a vehicle with 68,000 should need $4,000 worth of oil leaks and water pump repairs. This is another known problem that VW does not want to address so I would recommend selling that vehicle before the warranty expires.

Only owner of this car (bought it new) and it has only 112,000 miles. I have complained about the transmission in this car since day 1. They scan and tell me nothing is wrong with it. Today I was told I need to replace the transmission for $5700!!! I called VW to see if there was anything they could do and all they tell me is that I am out of warranty (ends at 60,000) and there are no recalls. Stay away from this car.

On March 18th 2014 I brought my Jetta into the dealership for its spa treatment (part of the sales agreement on March 30, 2014). Upon completion of detailing, 2 chunks of paint had fallen off the running boards. During the walk-around with the Service Associate I told her that I often had people approach me to say that my car had been hit as the running boards had indentations on the rear and forward portions. The indentations matched on both sides of the car in which I believed was the body style. The Service Associate said she had never noticed the body style of the 2014 running boards and thought it was unique but didnt have any concerns as they were matching on both sides and agreed that it was a body style. When I returned to pick up my Jetta, the Service Associate said she had really bad news. She said she had spoken to their Sales Associate and this definitely was not a body style and in fact there was significant damage to my vehicle. A VW salesman quickly joined the conversation and claimed the indentations were caused from a hoist. I told them the only hoist my car was on was their hoist in August 2, 2014 when it was in for the first free 15,000 km oil change. I was presented an invoice for over $250.00 at the time. They had rotated my tires, and performed the 6-month service check on their own accord. I refused to pay the invoice as I specifically asked only for the oil change - nothing more. The salesman said you cant prove we did the damage; its way too late for that! He began aggressively arguing while the Service Associate said this is not the policy of Volkswagen and they would go good for any damage caused as their service department. She checked the service records and confirmed my vehicle had been in their service shop and asked me to get 2 quotes and they would do the same. She confirmed the auto body shop that I would go to was a customer of theirs and agreed they would be good to go to. She said they would call me the following day as they would want to have this addressed ASAP. They never called me back. In fact I called them the following day and found she was dismissive and didnt engage in a conversation of how they would approach this matter. Both body shops gave a quote of over $4,000 had said the damage was very serious and confirmed that it was sustained by a hoist. They both suggested I go to ICBC as soon as possible. ICBC confirmed hoist damage and proceeded to process my claim as they would go after the dealership. I asked ICBC about the trade-in value of my car since I now own a vehicle purchased at top dollar; with depreciation and $4,000+ damages, the trade-in value of my car is seriously compromised. ICBC only said I would have my deductible returned after they go after the dealership.

My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicl
My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicle, Dont even think about it. Unless you have lots of money and use and throw car. Its a shame on you Volkswagen!! All the car manufacturers (Its shame for me to say your competitors) are building cars that last for 200K miles and your car is falling apart after 90K miles. I had this car which likes to go back to the workshop every 2 weeks once its marked 90K miles. Its shame on your assembly employees, quality control engineers. Are they sleeping? Or you are not paying them well? Please take all the money that you make from the repairs caused by these breaking parts and give them as bonus. Motivate them to at least build something so that at least you can call yourself as car company. I was always recommending friends about this company... Now I realized big mistake. Sorry VW. Not any more. I changed my advice. None of my friends/colleagues are no more going to buy VW if they get my feedback. To all the folks who are planning to buy - I would suggest instead of buying a vw, just drop $100 into the toilet daily and flush it. That will at least save time from going back and forth between the repairs.

I had a 2009 VW Rabbit under warranty with the same exact issue. The door curled up like a piece of paper. My issue is the same as yours. VW, nor the dealership, ever bothered to inform me of the issue of ice getting trapped in the door, and causing the door to curl up like a piece of paper in the same way yours did. Because they never bothered to inform me, I assumed someone hit my door, and ended up paying to have this fixed at an independent shop, for something they should have taken care of under warranty. The dealership (Flynn Volkswagen) couldnt be bothered to install the foam fix inside the door before the car was sold new in 2011 two years later before it even left the lot, which would have prevented the problem from occurring in the first place.

I agree with Libby from Birmingham MI. I have a 2014 Executive CC with 25,000 miles that I purchased new in 2015. I just had Takata airbag done today and am waiting like Libby on the fuel pump which can cause serious consequences if malfunctions and stalls out. I was told today Volkswagen service dept. still does not have the necessary parts to correct and fix this problem. I also have no maintenance or warranty on this car that at time of purchase I was told it had a 3 year maintenance program as well as warranty. I found out today when I took it in for my 3rd year maintenance that it had expired and that it was only 2 years on the maintenance. I never got notification of this until today. My husband purchased a pre-owned 2013 Passat and got 3 years on maintenance yet my car cost 10,000 more and was purchased new. I will never, ever buy another Volkswagen again. Probably should never have listened to the car dealer at time of purchase without verifying myself. I was sold a resist all protection and passkey yet never offered extended warranty option. I will go to another manufacturer with better warranty and maintenance programs next time.

We bought a new car VW Touran from April 2017 and unfortunately car dealer delivered a worse car that I ever received in my life as the following issues: - Adblue tanker was leaking in 2 months delivery. - A problem was warned and technician of VW could not detect the problem. We left our car to check the problems in few days at VW repaired center - Chaussee Ninove with nearly 100 km of our own gasoline fee. The problem was found by ourselves in a foreign country - our car was flooded due to a problem of the joint while we were in the car under heavy rain in Prague. - The light was out of order. After leaving our car for reparation, we got our car back with a new joint replaced, but horrible odor was occurred due to humidity. We came back to request a solution for odor treatment and repair the light as well. No accessory was available. It needs to be ordered and we will be contacted once accessory arrived shortly. One month later, we passed by to check if the light can be fixed and was told the accessory was not arrived because they forgot to order.- We face a new problem today with the battery. I had to call VW assistance to restart the engine with a ref under number **. The technician passed by to fix the problem and advised to replace a new battery as it happened twice recently. We feel disappointed to sell our ancient Audi to them and bought a new car with full options from VW. Honestly saying, service after sale was not good. Agent was not happy to request to fix the problems and unfriendly attitude at Robert Carrosserie - Chaussee Ninove 1070, Anderlecht. It could be the last time and ever to buy such a bad quality.

I bought Tiguan model 2012 from the dealer in Abu Dhabi. I am the only driver, and exactly after the 3 years warranty expired, I started experiencing major problem with the car. For example: leaking coolant pump, boot cracked, noisy bush cracked, stuck defect, and more. I have just replaced the roof cetane (damaged with no obvious reason) and cost me almost 1000$. And last year there was oil leakage which required costly replacement. I would like to know why this is happening to a new car. Never happened to me before with other make. Please do respond to my concern.

I received codes P0087 & P2293 and traced them down to a known, high-pressure fuel pump/improperly hardened camshaft problem (VW Technical Bulletin **). As a result of the failures I now have catastrophic foreign object damage (metal shavings) throughout my oil system caused by lathing to the camshaft and irreparable damage to cylinder head due to unbalanced camshaft rotation (known problem excessive wear of intake camshaft lobe Ref: VW Technical Bulletin **).Prestige Imports of Pleasantville, NY opened the engine and immediately called to tell me I needed a new engine. All I had to do was show oil change receipts for the life of the car and Id receive a new engine free of charge. However, living in the real world and being a member of the US Marines, Ive lived all over the US and had my oil serviced by the lowest bidder (often times myself). I was not going to be able to prove my oil changes (they were current though). At this point I called VW USA to open the lines of communication. I was told by VW USA not to worry, they’d look into the problem and get a better answer to the extent of the damage. After they talk to the dealer they will call back and explain the extent of the damage.A few days later the dealership called to say the car is finished. Finished? Please define finished because the last word I received was that I needed a new engine. VW USA was supposed to call you (the dealer), get a better idea of the problem & call me back so I can choose a course of action. The dealer informed me they replaced the timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and water pump. Im responsible for those repairs for about 1100 dollars. The repairs they did under warranty were a camshaft, cam follower, and high-pressure fuel pump. Ignore for minute that they have to remove the timing belt anyway to replace the camshaft. There should have been almost zero labor involved in that repair.Heres the issue. 1. I involved VW USA early and clarify the exact extent of the damage. They did not. They failed to add clarity and in fact, made matters more confusing. 2. Repairing an engine with metal shaving in the oil is a waste of money at a minimum. To be blunt it is closer to unethical and fraudulent. 3. Repairing a timing belt on an interference engine with cylinder head damage is unethical and fraudulent. 4. Calling a customer to say you need a new engine and then reversing course and completing 1100 dollars after I advise I cannot provide oil records is unethical and fraudulent. 5. VW USA taking a month to try to untangle and investigate the problem only to finally state that they are not helping is fraudulent and unethical. This issue could have not been handled worse. 1100 dollars of repairs were administered to a vehicle that is damaged. VW knows the 2.0-liter engine is an interference engine and timing is critical. VW acknowledged camshaft issues in Technical Bulletin ** but somehow wants to blame cam collateral wear on oil changes. There are metal particles in the engine oil system from acknowledged cam problems, which act like sandpaper when they circulate. Finally, there was zero productive communication with VW USA. The only communication was nightly calls from customer service agents who know nothing of automobiles or engines stating theyre still working on it or so and so wasnt there because of the holidays etc. Horrible, horrible experience. Criminal, negligent, fraudulent and to boot, to a service member and veteran.

I have an 06 GTI that I bought used. I also had ice build-up in the doors and from online research, this is a known problem. I have gone round and round with customer care but no help. They say its because of the age of my car and being 4 years out of warranty. I replied that warranty or no warranty this is a design flaw and should be covered by VW. I have a 2011 Volkswagen Golf TDI, which I bought new. Its one of the Diesel cars that VW was found to have lied about. About a year ago I signed up for the VW TDI settlement program and planned to turn in my TDI this fall. Now, to add insult to injury, the High Pressure Fuel Pump has failed, which I am told is catastrophic and will now cost $4500 to repair. Unless I repair the car I will not be eligible to turn the car back to VW or be able to have them retrofit it so that I may continue driving it. The car has 124,000 miles on it and the extended warranty, which I was not informed of, expired at 120000 miles, just a few months ago. I was never informed that there was an issue with VW fuel pumps. Apparently, the High Pressure Fuel Pump was the subject of a federal investigation which I never heard about. Further, Volkswagen has paid for this repair on vehicles outside the extended warranty period. A quick web search reveals thousands of these HPFP failures. Please consider looking into this, as VW has set a precedent by paying for these repairs past warranty and now they will not cover mine, leaving me with this huge burden. Thank you.

I have a 2007 VW Jetta with 200,000 km. It has corrosion, to the point of holes in the metal, on all 4 wheel fenders, the rocker panel, and on the bottom of the drivers side door. When shopping for a vehicle I bought this car new and choose it over the Honda Civic. My fiances cousin currently has a 2004 Honda Civic with 300,000 km and absolutely no corrosion.VW Canada is not honoring the Corrosion Warranty because I cannot prove the corrosion was caused internally. They are claiming it is due to external factors, which is impossible to prove considering the location of the corrosion. When I called to request the claim be reassessed they refused to do so and VW Customer Care refused to let me speak with anyone that had the power to make the decision to have the corrosion claim reassessed.I definitely will not purchase another VW based on this experience and I would recommend to everyone I know as well that they consider other brands instead. Had VW honored the warranty I would feel differently, but they used an excuse to not honor it and apparently there is no way for me to speak to anyone involved in the decision. The VW Customer Care department is the only group you can speak to and they claim they have no power with these decisions and they are all final. Please note as well that this vehicle was bought and used in Alberta which is a very dry province where vehicle dont normally rust let alone corrode.

The GTI is one of the best all around cars on the market today as far as overall versatility. It may not be the best in any singular category (performance, mpg, comfort, etc.), but it’s cumulatively better than 90-95% of the cars that it competes against. The GTI’s changes over the model years have been subtle with VW finely tuning & refining a proven & successful platform. I’ve owned cars that were more luxurious, had more performance, were much more aesthetically pleasing design-wise...yet, the 5 GTIs that I own/have owned, have never failed to provide me with an exhilarating drive.

I come from a family of people that buy and purchase VWs. So naturally I bought one. However, I have had issues with my 2009 VW GTI (purchased brand new) since the start. When I first purchased my VW, there was a fuel issue, and they replaced it. Then there was a filter that stunk like mold, they replaced it. Then there was a recall on part of my transmission, they replaced it. My car started hesitating on the freeway when I accelerated, right after the recall replacement. I should have known by this time that the car needed to be traded, but I was stupid. I thought its a VW, they are great cars and so much fun to drive! Everything at this point got even worse. My battery died, or so I thought. I took it to VW and they told me that I needed a new computer. Somehow, insurance covered this and I ONLY had to pay my $500 deductible. I informed them that my car kept hesitating on the freeway. They said to drive it a certain amount of miles and it should reset. I did, and it didnt reset. After a few weeks, I took it back to the dealership. They said I need a new valve that was several hundred dollars. I called VW of America and they offered to pay for half, since it was a defect. Several weeks went by and the car started doing the same thing again. I took it back to the dealership they said its a valve that needs to be replaced. They covered the cost of the valve because it was part of the original issue. I picked it up. The next day, the engine light went off again, and the car was still hesitating. After several days, I called the dealership. They told me it was bad gas and to refuel it and drive around. I did this. After several days, I again took the car back to the dealership. This time, they said it was another valve, and they replaced it. They also told me that if the engine code came on again that they would have to replace the turbo. So now they are telling me that I need a new turbo and have to pay $2200.00. Everything else they were willing to cover because it was part of the covered recall issue, but now that its $2200.00 I have to pay for it. I called VW of America to see if they could help. The woman said that they arent going to pay for it and that its not their responsibility. I said, Thats funny because you knew it was your responsibility up until it was $2200.00. She told me that is her final decision, there was no one above her and thats it. I now have a car that needs new turbo... I am beyond upset and will never buy or drive a VW again! I am trying to sell my piece of crap because I cant even look at it with getting pissed off. The woman by the way did offer me a $750 credit towards a new VW. I have to admit I was speechless. She was willing to give me $750 towards a new car, but not towards my problem that I called about???? Thats ridiculous.

I bought my 2010 VW CC sport a few months ago. I was pretty happy with it at first. I rolled 60K and took it down to Hallmark (Henderson TN) dealership. I asked for the 60k service that my manual stated it needed which includes the following: oil change, spark plugs and coils change, tire rotation, brake inspection. I paid 300 for all this to be completed. After leaving the dealership my car starts misfiring after only 20 min. I drive it home and called the dealership only to be told CARBON build up in the motor needed to be cleaned. (There is no carbon build up.) I asked for more details and they hung up. So I decided to look into my car and see what they actually did. Lo and behold the spark plugs were still in the car from 2014. They charged me $90 for the tune up that they did not even do. I looked at the coils and it was the same thing. Except the coils were the original 2010 ones. Now my car wont even stay running because of something that they did during their SERVICE. They want to charge me another 1300 for them to re-diagnose the issue and clean the non existent carbon. (The carbon was previously cleaned before taking it to them.) MY advice, do the basic maintenance yourself and dont ever visit this dealership. If I could afford to swap this VW off it would be gone like yesterday.

So I get a postcard in the mail for a recall in my ABS system in my car (2009 VW Jetta). I make an appt at VW in Clarksburg WV for 0900 on June 19th. After sitting for an hour and a half I check the status of my car. The service manager says it should only take 30 minutes for my car and I told him is already been waiting an hour and a half. He goes, checks on my car. States that they have to order a new ABS SYSTEM for my car which 9 out 10 times a car doesnt need it. But mine does. He then says they dont recommend me driving it until its fixed. So I ask if they are going to give me a temporary or loaner vehicle to which he says I cant. We dont have any. So I ask if they will provide a rental. He says VW doesnt do that.So what do I do? The manager says, If you want your car you have to sign a waiver and pushes my car keys into his pocket. So I was told I could have my car if I signed a waiver releasing them of liability if I get in an accident but they wont provide me with any type of vehicle to drive temporarily. So with great hesitation I sign and voice my opinion on how bad their service is and always has been but this was topping it. Told theyd call me when the replacement came in.11 days later, I just called them and asked why they havent called me about it. The manager again (how hes the service manager is beyond me bc he does a very poor job at retaining customers or helping them) says to me I havent called bc I havent had any available appts open to get you in! I said dont you think you should call me so that I can make an appt at least?!?!? After all I am driving around with a disabled ABS system!!!Without any regard to my well being or my kids who ride in my vehicle or others on the road, he says I guess I can get you in July 10th. You guess??? I am so appalled and so extremely angry at how incompetent and irresponsible this man is!! He lacks any concern for others and hes fat lazy **. Cannot and does not even attempt to help me in this situation. I highly suggest that VW replace him with someone who knows what theyre are doing. I will never, ever buy another vehicle from VW!!! I’ve already guided my girlfriend and my brother away from your incompetent company and I’ll be sure to continue telling each and every person I meet to avoid Volkswagen. Remember, your product isn’t cars; it’s customer satisfaction. Good luck selling your ** brand of that to an increasingly better informed public for much longer.

We purchased the new 2021 Tiguan comfortline in September and just after a month or so the infotainment screen would not turn on instantly. The issue has not been resolved after making three visits to the service dealer. We also contacted the VW Canada customer care but they were of no help and simply suggested that we visit the service dealer, though issue was to do with manufacturing. Our car is still with service dealer and they dont know what is the problem. Sent another email to VW Canada customer care rep but havent received a response yet. Really frustrating and disappointing experience buying VW.

I own a 2013 GTI and in November 2015 the water pump started leaking fluid. After taking the car to the VW dealership, I was informed there was a recall on the water pump and it was replaced. Fast forward to 2017; the water pump that was replaced in 2015 starting leaking (having found this out after taking the GTI back to VW). I informed the service department that water pump was replaced due to a recall. They preceded to locate when the water pump had been replaced. The service department contact Volkswagen checking to see they would pay for repairs since the water pump was replaced due to the recall...Volkswagen would only pay half of the bill. I contacted Volkswagen, stating that evidently the water pumps are faulty if only after 14 months after installation the water pump requires replacement again. The representative that was helping me, advised she contacted someone at Volkswagen and that is all they would do. I told her again... after only 14 months and the water pump is being replaced again, that tells me that Volkswagen water pumps are faulty!

The engine in the 2013 VW GTI we leased burned up at 25,000 miles. Nine days before this happened, the dealership where we leased it from refused to honor the service agreement and misled us as to whether or not it was due for service. As a result at the BBB arbitration between us and the manufacturer, we were held responsible for 1/2 of the cost of replacing the engine on a 2013 vehicle with only 25,000 miles on it. We have had to sue the dealership for the balance we had to pay due to the breach of the service contract. As a result, we have been paying $260/mo five months, the court date is not for another 3 months and we STILL dont have the car back. VW sucks, the warranty sucks, and the service contract sucks. The Customer Care guy (Douglas **) was nice enough though -- Im sure hes just following orders -- not his fault VW corporation cheats its customers on the warranty and the service contract (while still taking our lease payments at $260/mo).

We purchased a VW Jetta from Danbury VW back in 2009. We brought the car in at 55,000 miles due to a check engine light. They diagnosed this problem being emissions related and charged us for the test. It turns out this was under warranty till 80,000 miles and did not fix it, instead they wanted to charge us for process of elimination repairs in excess of $8,000! We did not accept this. We contacted the dealer and VWoA several times and they always decline to fix. Now the car has reached 108,000 miles and will fail inspection. Again, they dropped the ball at 55,000 miles under warranty. Its big corporation screwing little people once again!

Full bumper to bumper extension of the factory warrantee from 4 years, 50,000 miles to 6 years 85,000 miles. Covers all non-consumable items and includes roadside assistance. Melds nicely with VWs Car-net. Yes, you need a VW service department BUT there are plenty in the area that I primarily drive and there are so few truly qualified local mechanics in the area. With all of the electronics on my new car, I needed the peace of mind, that if even a minor component occurs, the vehicle would be repaired with genuine VW parts by factory trained service techs.

Fred Beans VW service-department of Devon PA - Dont trust the hype when VW advertise coupons or the Hundred plus checks they are suppose to perform while the car in service. It can work against your favor because they are looking for issues to charge you extra. In May 2013 I bought a SE-Passat V6 included with the price of the car a 54000/4yr service contract. The vehicle was purchase as an CPO, which means it had a few miles, I think roughly 5000. Being I am more prevalent to conventional, I am growing with synthetics. In saying I am use to changing oils every 3000 miles not 10,000. I am a meticulous car owner. This car in 5 yrs had roughly 33,500 miles in December 2017(with a VW OIL SPECIAL COUPON) which covered up to 5qts of oil, during a unconventional oil change prior to, I look under the hood and notice oil film on top of the engine. I address the issue and ask why this was not brought to my attention or address by the service department while the extended service warranty was in effect? To create oil film which was visible means it took time for the matter and the amount of times and in the increment the car has been in for service over a short period it should of been address while the car was under warranty. At that time they agreed to disagree and told me it doesnt mean its leaking oil. I took heed what was being said however they didnt understand or know in my youth I was a mechanic and built cars.My free oil change just cost me a deductible plus. After the oil change the car virtually was parked (except for a few runs to the market) until May 2018, State-inspection Time. When I purchase the car I immediately changed the tires and since 1979 I have bought mostly all and into agreement with NTB. They have a the best Alignment plan bar none to others retailers. I have owned many cars since my Military years. I was told the car pass inspection May 2018 although a few concerns should be address. One tires was showing signs of dry-rot (not an issue). I have coverage. And the serpentine belt (34,800) was showing signs of wear, my reaction was, Oh really. (Again I reintegrated it should of been replaced when the car was under warranty) The service rep claim it was not covered under the service contract I disputed his claim.Folks the Manufacture warranty is 3/36000. This is why I dont prefer buying vehicles with short warranties because the manufacture takes into account their product isnt reliable. And I cover extensively at the time of purchase what is and whats not covered and the plan I had covered everything except, Tires and brakes and I will admit I forgot the $50.00 deductible associated with a service plan. I recall asking Belts for ex: Timing belt and serpentine belt those items were included with the purchase in May, 2013 the car came with platinum plan.In conclusion, when a man is talking over my merchandise (car) I listen with both ears. After discussing my concerns with the rep he spoke with his Manager. As he walks down the corridor he tells me straight to my face I would pay the ($50.00) fifty dollar deductible. I replied, OK. In my mind I am counting the cost of the State-Inspection and the additional $50.00 deductible. The Bill presented was $289.00. I am about to blow a gasket and lose my religion. I ask for the manager (hes in a meeting) like I give a rats **. After 15 min he approaches with an caveat attitude,.. whats the problem. I was told I would be charged the deductible (in my mind Im saying wtf is this). The rep intervenes and says, I told you I would charge you less $50.00 of the actual cost. I replied, No you did not. Well folks I was caught in-between a web. I had a important meeting to attend and they had my car. I paid the bill,... and sold the car within two weeks. I will never purchase another VW. I forgot to mention I was (as the car was being service) negotiating on a 2018 Atlas I drive currently and own a Mazda 2018 CX9 Signature. I suggest use those smartphones during a conversation and record.

I turned in my lease 3 months early because I was going to go over my mileage. I went in to discuss options. They told me they would waive my remaining months for buying a new vehicle with them. Now 3 month later I get an invoice for 1500 (way more than 3 payments of my lease) and VW is pawning this off on the dealership, Volkswagen Cypress, who won’t return my phone calls or emails. They are flat out scamming me! VW main office were so rude and horrible. I will never do business with them again and warn everyone to stay away from VW. I own a Volkswagen Touareg and during a rainstorm, water drained into the fuse box and destroyed the system circuit. VW is claiming it is not a recall therefore, they will not repair the damage. The service dept told me there had been another VW in their shop two months prior with the same problem and it cost that owner $7,000. My cost is $15,000+. Why is it auto manufacturers do not have to stand by their products? If I sold a product that was defective, I would have to fix it or replace it. As a consumer, I am very dissatisfied and angry that I should have to pay for a manufacturing defect they know exists and refuses to fix it.

VW Touareg in for a continuing seatbelt issue. EJ at #1 Cochran suggested I contact VW of America over this issue. He said to call them. Ashlee ** was my representative and connecting with her was a constant issue to start. She never answered her phone. It was always phone tag until we connected. She called several times to tell me she was waiting to talk with the service manager at #1 Conchran and the district manager. They both said there were no issues with the seatbelt so I have to pay ~$600. I asked what kind of warranty would come with this, 12 months. The last time the seatbelt broke was on 2012, so 12 months means nothing.I asked what is causing this... neither Ashlee or #1 Cochran could give me an answer. But Ashlee did tell me I needed to go back to my dealership to learn how to properly lower and raise the back seat. Really! That is their answer. No financial help at all but they will tell me how to use a car I have driven since 2011. Ridiculous and since we know how honest VW has been, I have no confidence in this company.

The car itself is fine, the company is terrible. VW Credit continually screws up. It takes numerous contacts to get them to fix anything. Then they will ruin your credit rating when they mess up. Their automated system suddenly got screwed up and did not take 2 lease payments out after months with no problem. I was never notified and found out from Credit Karma when they reported it as 60 days of missed payments to the credit bureaus. Ive spent literally hours over the last 6 months on the phone, copying documents, faxing, mailing and following up trying to get them to fix their mistake. It tanked my credit rating causing me to be unable to refinance my home and lower my mortgage payment. This is just the worst of it as they have repeatedly messed up this account. VW Credit has been an absolute nightmare to deal with and Ive lost hours of my life trying to get them to fix their mistakes. Never, never, never again would I have a car loan or lease with VW Credit.

I have a Volkswagon Passat for official/domestic use since 2016. No doubt it drives great with all the inbuilt features of safety as well as ergonomics. It has got a powerful engine with smooth drive. To sum up I must say that the company has put in all its efforts to make it a success but unfortunately the only thing which is pulling it down is the customer support at its service center. It has such an overwhelming effect that all the good features of this car get multiplied by zero rather I would say it takes it in the negative side of the scale. I had been getting its maintenance services from the VW for the last so many years until this month when I finally decided to quit and I will even restrain myself to small pit shop.I happened to be at VW service center at Templehoff for scheduled inspection of my car in August 2020 but was highly disappointed with the attitude of service center staff who not only charged me heavily but also failed to standby their commitment of completing the job on time again and again. These people dont have any sense of customer care and dont bother even if some customer getting bogged down because of their failings. To my utter surprise no appropriate action was taken despite this matter was brought in the notice of management which brings me to the conclusion that this entire company is unknown to the word Customer Care rather they Dont Care. Anyways I formally said goodbye to this place and will never recommend any friend for even visiting this place for petty tasks.

I introduce myself to you as a long-time and loyal VW customer. I have owned seven VWs in my life. Currently, I own a 2017 Touareg and a 2016 Jetta (son). Obviously, I enjoy the VW brand. It goes without saying that the events surrounding the TDI matter have been disappointing to me as such a loyal customer. Having said that, I accepted your apologies on behalf of VW and the terms of the TDI settlement as they related to my 2014 Passat TDI. Not only did I agree to the settlement terms as outlined by the US Courts, I went on to purchase the 2017 Touareg after turning in my Passat in late November. To be brief, the settlement process has been an unmitigated disaster by all accounts. I entered into a signed agreement with Volkswagen on or around December 22, 2016. I was told my funds and the funds promised via the settlement agreement owed to Fidelity Bank would be distributed within three business days. Indeed, I received my portion of the settlement funds timely. Unfortunately, as of todays date, some 60 plus days later, the bank has yet to receive their funds. Although, the representatives from Fidelity Bank have done what they can to assist me, in order to keep from being sent to collections and adversely impacting my 820 credit rating, I have been forced to make multiple additional car payments on a vehicle that I have not possessed since November 2016. Not to make light of the tangible financial losses in terms of interest and principle, I have spent conservatively 40 hours in phone calls and e-mails back and forth with the claims center, the bank and now the plaintiffs general counsel. Despite my efforts, NOT one single person has taken the leadership to step-in to rectify this matter.Let me say this, the service rendered by the VW claims department is deplorable! I have been a risk manager and claims/litigation manager in the insurance industry for the past 27 years. I have worked for and with some of the best. Simply said, the claims department handling the TDI settlements is THE WORST. They have been unprofessional, dishonest and in my opinion, they have continued to commit fraud on behalf of VW. The plaintiffs general counsel is doing what they can to assist me. However, to date, they have not been able to rectify this matter. Without continuing on, which believe me I could, I will leave you with this. I fully expect this matter to be resolved at the end of business today. That includes the payoff to my bank as promised to me when I signed the settlement documents in December 2016. In addition, I expect compensation for the accrued interest, principle payments and my extensive time that I have had to dedicate to this matter to protect my personal and financial interest.I have engaged individual counsel to pursue additional counts of fraud and material misrepresentation against VW. Additionally, I have reached out to local law enforcement to file criminal theft charges against VW and their corporate representatives for the unlawful taking of my 2014 VW Passat TDI. I will post this letter on every social media site possible by the end of the business day today should I not receive an immediate and satisfactory response. The actions by VW as outlined above constitute continued criminal and fraudulent behavior!

Let me first say that I love my 2013 Beetle turbo. It is great in all the aspects except one, in my mind, MAJOR design flaw. I have addressed this issue several times at the dealership, but no help was available. It relates to the keyless start. In general I dont see the benefit of this feature. Is it really that hard to use the key to start your car? I didnt think so. Anyway, if you turn on your Beetle, say to cool it off in the summer time before driving to the beach and wait for the A/C to cool down indoors, there is a chance that you may have the key in your hand. And while the car is cooling down, you just may unknowingly hang the key on the hook in your house. You then take the beach towels and a cooler, lock your house and sit in your comfortably cooled beetle and head for the beach. You drive 80 miles and you figure out that you need to buy gas. You shut off your Beetle, pump the gas, pay for it, sit back at the wheel, press the start button. KEY NOT IN RANGE!!!!!!! This is a true story, and I know other people that this has happened to (maybe they were not 80 miles away from the key hanging on the hook at home, but you get the picture). I will never understand how they made such an oversight. And why are they not recalling the cars to fix them? If you have a Beetle with the start button, beware of this. It can be dangerous.

Having a look at the reviews, I feel a little bit better as the company is just terrible in general, I thought it was just my luck and I was dealing with wrong service managers but seems like everyone is having the SAME! issue. What a mistake I made trusting Volkswagen, my car has been with them over a week coming to two weeks to diagnose an issue which they did after a week. Repairs were then done, I was then advised it could actually be something else and now another cost is adding, then they said I might even need a new Engine, my oh my.My other frustration is that the service manager who I called after being told they will call when they didnt had no clue of the situation and advised she was handed the case a day ago when the complaint was sent few days ago via web chat. I REGRET using them. I could of taken my car to a local garage who will be cheaper and diagnose the actual issue without trying to rob your money, I WILL NEVER EVER USE YOU AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE! I recently experienced something with Volkswagen Corporate that I have never encountered with any other normal company. Because of Volkswagen, I am unable to buy my home. They preach about using their website to make payments or do all transactions online because its the quickest and easiest way, yet the online profile is the last source that gets updated by their internal department so that is the least reliable source. I always made my payments through their website, vwcredit.com. I always received confirmations from the website stating payment has been received. In April 2014, I decided to upgrade my car with Volkswagen so I leased a new Tiguan. In May, I signed on to my account and made a payment and received a confirmation. 10 days later, I received a statement from Volkswagen saying payment has been made, Thank You. Several days after that, Volkswagen started calling stating they have not received a payment. They tried calling twice. By the third phone call I received, they have already reported me to the credit bureau. 10 days before my house closing, my loan officer called and stated that because of Volkswagen, my credit score dropped 100 points! This made me ineligible to get approved for a house loan.Frustrated, as anyone would be, I called Volkswagen. Of course, they made this out to be my mistake. They are not responsible for the payment confirmations that are sent out and they have very strict rules about reporting to the credit companies. According to them, they were unable to reach my bank to receive a payment and even though I received a confirmation from them, its not a guaranteed payment. My payment, according to them, was 35 days late, even though they sent statements stating I have paid! They refused to call the credit bureau and explain the situation. I checked my account information online and there was nothing on there about late payments. They even posted the statement they mailed to my house saying May payments has been received. So because I relied on their online communication, I was burned by this company. Their communication is very unclear and frustrating as are their employees. I will never do business with this company again! The cars are great, but their internal way of running the business is very unorganized. This company cannot be trusted!

When purchasing a VW product be aware of the total cost of ownership. Many VW parts are proprietary and the Company charges accordingly. For example, changing the battery on a key fob - $75 (requires programming), to replacing a door latch (including labor) $471.57, supplying an air conditioning hose (part only) $368.39. These are actual prices. When asked about their pricing policy VW North American provided an answer containing verbiage but no substance.

The windshield on my Beetle with 4700 miles spontaneously cracked overnight, with no previous stone chips, car crashes or pothole collisions. The break is an obvious stress fracture, coming from the side of the glass and extending into the windshield. Customer Care first said that all defects, including glass are covered. The dealership where I brought the car (who was not really interested in the problem and assumed it was a stone chip before I even brought the car in) sent in some cell phone pictures, and some local supervisor later denied the claim. They didnt have enough time to go over all the details of this new car and said we could have more time on the coming Sat. They never called. When I called them with problems of charging it, they told me they were on vacation, but if you come in I can give you a little time. When I asked about problems with Barnstable free chargers around Hyannis they didnt know why I couldnt charge on them. Said they would check it out. They never did. After a month of trying to figure it out myself I gave up and took it back. They wanted me to go the lemon law route. I told them I thought it was damaged and that they knew about it. That would be fraud to do the lemon law. I ended up paying them a total of over $5,000.00 to get out of the lease. The Corporate VW was no better. They had nothing to say to me, even though they had me fill out a survey for their company. I sent them letters, all the information and copies of everything and nothing. We purchased a brand new 2018 Tiguan and have had an horrible experience. The family almost died in a car accident because of the EPC faulty code. It happened 3 times and Volkswagen could not fix the issue. All of a sudden your car loses power and can’t go over 30mph, it shakes horribly and continues to lose power. The last time it happened (3rd time) we were merging onto a highway, the car shook and then lost power, with your foot to the floor the car will not go over 30mph. An 18wheeler truck almost slammed into the back of us, we had to swerve off the highway. Took it back to Volkswagen and they stated it was a faulty read and NOTHING Else was done! We are so shaken and have no trust in the car.I went directly to head office of Volkswagen and after 6 weeks of discussion they offered me a 10% discount off a new car! Are you kidding me??? 10% when it almost killed my family. I bought a new car so I would have no issue, but instead have had deadly issues. Looking online I see I am not alone. I guess Volkswagen does Nothing to keep their customers safe unless you die and then a class action lawsuit happens. Guess I should head up a class action lawsuit. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. I thought I loved VW. Heck, I use to live in a town just outside of Wolfburg, GE. (Erkerode) It was a happy day when I purchased my 1st VW Jetta TDI. Drove like a champ and great on gas. Main reason I got it was because my daily commute was 2hrs 15min 1 way (all highway). Everything was good. Getting oil changes and services IAW VW. Then the emissions scandal happened. And I wont drone on about that. But, shortly thereafter I had a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) problem. No worries, I thought, Im still covered by Warranty, just barely. Bring her in to my local Dealership, they take a look and say that they need to do a manual regeneration. Next day, I pick her up, warning lights are off, and everything is good to go.The following day, I make my trek to and from work. And wouldnt you know it, the DPF light is back on. I call up the Dealership and drop her back off at the next available appointment. The kind folks at the Dealership even put me up in a Courtesy Vehicle. The next day I pick my car up after they explained to me that they had to do a deeper cleaning. Hey, no worries, this is all covered by Warranty. I happily drive home thinking that this issue has been resolved. Weekend goes by, Monday is here and I make my way to and from work. I get home and lo and behold, the DPF light is back on. Now Im getting frustrated and its apparent that something else must be wrong. I call the Dealership and they tell me that the only other thing they can do is replace the DPF altogether. It doesnt seem right, but they are the experts and it is under Warranty, so I drop her off. I get my car back, drive back and forth to work a few times, problem solved...Or so I thought. 20,000 miles later, I get a new set of lights on my instrument panel. This time its a flashing Glow Plug light, the Check Engine light, and a text display of a flashing wrench followed by the words Inspect. Wow, thats A LOT of stuff. But hey, at least its not the DPF light. I take a glance at my Owners Manual (OM) to see what these things mean. According to the OM, both the flashing Glow Plug light and Check Engine light means Engine Control Malfunction, and the flashing wrench had to do with the Transmission. GREAT... I just put a new transmission in my other car, but thats neither here nor there. I call up the Dealership and schedule an appointment. They have it for a day and then the Technician gives me a call to inform me that the codes came up for the DPF. So what they needed to do was run a regen and it would cost 300 something dollars. At this point, Im out of Warranty. If money is coming out of my pocket, Im going to make my questions and concerns known. I proceed to ask the Technician that if its a DPF problem, why is it that the DPF light didnt come on AND how is this possible, VW JUST replaced the DPF. Needless to say, he did not have an answer for either of those questions and said that hed give me a call back in 10 minutes or so. About 10 min go by and I get a call from a Service Rep that is familiar with my car and the whole DPF dilemma. She proceeds to tell me that they are going to investigate the matter and contact the main VW Tech something or another. The following morning, she gives me a call to tell me that VW Tech said it is a Failed Temp Sensor and that it will cost $2,625.14 to get it fixed and that I should call VW Customer Care about this to see if they can help the situation.ROFLMAO, they must have lost their minds. You mean to tell me that had I not questioned their original findings, I would have dropped $300 only to have the same issue keep popping up. So I did a little research. Apparently, when the Glow Plug light and Check Engine light pops up, it does that because the DPF is at 75% loading or is saturated with 40 grams of soot because the regen process isnt kicking in. And you dont have to be a genius to come to the assumption/conclusion that if the regen process (which cleans the filter), isnt activating because the Temp Sensor is bad, that driving approximately 20,000 miles without a proper regeneration occurring could lead to a DPF with 75% loading.Meaning, the Temp Sensor was most likely faulty the 1st time I was having the recurring DPF problems, only money wasnt coming out of my pocket at the time so I didnt question it, therefore the Dealership Technicians didnt further investigate it and come to the realization that that was the underlying issue. Quite convenient for VW. So, I take the Service Reps advice and call the VW Customer Care number that same day (today). The representative on the line was polite, and after a lengthy discussion she informs me that there is nothing they can do to help because my vehicle is no longer under warranty. She ALSO tells me that this $2,625.14 operation is just a suggestion from VW Tech on a possible resolution to my issue. That the VW Tech is not saying that the Temp Sensor is bad, but that it COULD fix the problem.WHAT... Youre telling me that I cough up $2,625.14 for something that VW most likely missed the first go around AND it may or may not resolve the issue... Thats unacceptable. On multiple levels that is unacceptable. 1st, that I have to pay for something that the Dealership missed/misdiagnosed the first time around and 2nd that they expect me to pay this sum of money when it might solve the issue, but they are not sure. So, I asked the kind lady if there was another number that I could contact to voice my displeasure/concern and was told, Im sorry, this is it. The sad thing is that this was a great car until the DPF issue. It was so good that my wife was wanting a VW as her next car, despite the Emission Scandal. LoL, needless to say, while typing this up, she sent me the following text, Well no more VWs for us.

I purchased my 2009 Volkswagen cc at 72000 miles on November 2014. The same day I drove home I had a CEL turn on and off, I took it back, and the dealer changed 1 coil wire that was about to go bad. Thanks. Soon after (month later), my fuel pump and fuel pump module went out. I called and they said, No warranty. I went and purchased, 650 dollars with installation at brother in laws shop. Cheaper than dealer by $500. Then at 112000 miles my transmission went out. No warranty of course. That was 5k to replace and install. This was in March 2016. In April my fuel injector was misfiring. Replaced all injectors. Then in March 2017 my throttle body went out. No help all this time from VW group of America. Worthless to be honest. Now in October 2017 my fan went unbalanced. No more VW for me EVER!!!

Im very frustrated at the fact that Im driving a car that has a potential safety issue and I usually have my 5 yr and 13 month old children with me. I bought the VW Tiguan because it was rated #1 for safety when my older child was 1 yr old. My car has had many problems and have spent 1000s of dollars in repair. But what has got me furious is the fact that on the morning of Friday July 25 2014. As I was leaving my parents house from dropping my kids and getting ready to go to work I started my car but the Power steering was gone completely. The Tiguan started and I could drive forward and back but the steering wheel did not move at all as if it was locked but it was not and the power steering failure light came on in the dashboard. The Tiguan is almost 4 yrs old and about 73 thousand miles on it. But I do not think age is the issue with this problem, its just a design flaw from VW.This problem has me very concern because what if I was driving on the freeway and the power steering failed then? I could only imagine what could have happen. What if my children were with me? This problem is unacceptable, inexcusable and life threatening. This is a very serious safety issue with the Tiguan. My Tiguan was towed to a VW dealerships car shop and they told me there that they never heard of such problem with the Tiguan models. I search on the web and it turns out there are several hundreds 2009-2011 VW Tiguans owners that have had that same problem, and to fix the Tiguan would be $2,045 dollars. The service rep suggested I call VW customer service. I did call and they were very nice and told me that they were going to see if they could help me with the repair. Next day I get a call from them and told me that they were not going to do anything about it because my Tiguan had more than 70,000 miles and was way out of warranty. This power steering problem has nothing to do with the Tiguans age. Other people that have had this exact same experience and only had their Tiguan for 2 months with 1,800 miles on and the problem keeps reoccurring! Warranty or no warranty this is a design flaw and should be covered by VW. Also in my opinion this is an issue worth a major recall but so far VW seems to be waiting for the first deaths to occur before they will react. There is always possibility that in traffic, the power steering really could go any moment.Something should be done about it before an innocent family dies!!! Help!!!! In the meantime I will tell my story in the social media to people in the news if I can, in the radio if I can, report it to BBB, and make consumer reports anywhere I can!! etc. I am now very scared to be driving the Tiguan. Its not safe and I dont feel safe! Other people with the same problem have had the problem reoccurring after being fixed. VW has lost a loyal customer forever!!

I bought a brand new 2019 Beetle and noticed it had a bunch of things wrong right off the bat. One of the speaker lights didnt work, the manual seat sinks after a few hours, and the A/C button doesnt work properly. I am 3.5 hours away from a Volkswagen dealership so it takes me 7 hours round trip to service it. I have to do 2 seven hour trips per service because they never fix it in one day. So far I have had to make that round trip 4 times and they still have not fixed the issues other than the speaker light. I dont have time or patience anymore to take many days off for nothing. The product is poorly put together and the service is HORRIBLE, at least at South Motors in Miami, FL.

This is the second brand new VW GTI I have purchased. The first one I bought in 2012 had its fair share of issues but everything was covered under warranty and getting the car repaired was mildly painless (could not get rental/loaner car while repairs were made). Despite my better judgment on the reliability issues concerning the first VW I purchased I went ahead and purchased the more expensive (automatic DSG) version of the GTI for 2015. I have had numerous issues with the car including mechanical failures, cosmetic failures, and water leaking into my vehicle right through both of the rear doors. I cannot be relieved of my issues and the manufacturer (Volkswagen) will do nothing to help me (The consumer). It is surprising to me especially after the whole VW Diesel thing that VW will not even try to reach out to help the existing customer base they have left here. Needless to say I will be trading my car in (doors still leak after four or five attempts to repair to no avail). I will never be buying a Volkswagen again or recommending one to anyone I know. The second dealer I had attempt to repair my doors actually damaged both of my rear doors in the process and scratched my vehicle. If youre considering buying a VW then DONT. I honestly would recommend them despite the problems I had IF the customer service wasnt so poor. I am truly disappointed with my purchase and will think about this mistake I have made for years to come. The image I have included is the water leaking into my rear door. (This cannot be corrected despite the numerous attempts from two different authorized VW dealerships) Mind you this is nearly a brand new car with less than 16000 miles.

2015 VW Golf - After receiving the safely recall in the mail, I spoke (after many times trying) with service at the dealer I bought the car from. I have not even reached 10,000, my first oil change. They told me to wait until then, and I was fine. Two days ago, a light came on saying that my gas cap wasnt on.....okay. That message went off, but today my engine light is on. I bought this car in September of this year, brand new, and already this is happening. Things do happen, but when I called with the concern that I might die in a car fire (leak could cause this according to the recall) they couldnt get me in until next Monday. Annoyed, I called back and suggested I drop off my car and take a loaner. Nope.... Customer service is terrible so far, at least at my dealership. On top of this, a car wash knocked off the drivers side back of my side view mirror, and a plastic runner on the seat already broke off. Im completely disappointed, despite the quick handling and nice interior. I just needed to vent.

As a veteran and an overseas teacher for the Military, we deserve better treatment than you have given us and as like many infectious diseases and viruses, word spreads at the same rate! I hope that word of your treatment spreads like wildfire regarding your service and lack of support for the U.S. Military. I will surely do my part in this matter.Form after form appears to be a stall tactic! The public information on the VW website stated that VW would take care of military personnel and shipping costs would be taken care of by VW. Ha! I have just paid approximately $3700 for shipping costs from S. Korea to Texas and hope that I receive a refund! At the rate of your response for email and other documents, I will probably be in my grave before I realize any reimbursements!

I purchased the VW Passat R-Line 2019 the end of June 2019/4 months ago. The remote start does not work and the dealership said that VW is aware of the problem, and there is no fix for it at this time, and they made sure to tell me that they did not know of the problem at the time I purchase this car new (it only has 3,500 miles on it. They said that they sold a lot of these cars and only my car and one other had this issue, this is a lie, from the research and from speaking with a Customer Care Manager, all the R Lines experience this problem. These people should be ashamed of themselves, for being so dishonest. I would not buy another VW if someone paid me to, and for anyone considering this brand run for the hills. You enter the remote start sequence and the engine runs for 1 second and then turns off. How could they not be aware of this issue before they put this car on the market.

Purchased the 2019 Passat R-Line edition on 3/2/19 and really like the styling, but that is where it ends. Three days after purchasing the vehicle, the remote start stopped working. There is a software flaw where the remote timer doesnt reset after starting the car, so once youve reached an overall total of twenty minutes the remote start never works again, as it is awaiting on an “input signal” that the car has been started non-remotely. AutoNation said it is Volkswagens problem and VW Customer Care said they know about the problem but they do not have a fix for it and that its basically my problem because it does not meet the guidelines for lemon law or VW’s policy to take the vehicle back. They said they are not pulling these vehicles from the lots because it is not a safety or mechanical issue but the dealerships are not disclosing this information either. VW Customer Care offered me $100 gift card and said they do not know when a fix will be released. Buy something else, and steer clear of VW. What good is a 7 year warranty, if they are selling cars that cant be fixed?

Altogether infuriating experience. Because I live more than an hours drive away, I made a morning appointment to take my Passat in and find out why it was leaking coolant. I expected to be able to take it home that afternoon at the very latest. I showed up a few minutes before my 11:00am appointment, and was immediately told my car could not even be looked at until 2:30pm. And that they would call me when they had news. Seriously? Why do they set appointments at all if it is meaningless? Fortunately, my husband was also in town with his car, so he picked me up and we ran a few errands. By around 4:30, I still had not heard a word from VW, so I called the service department. THEN I was told that they still had not figured it out.... probably it still had not even been looked at. So we went back up the road to home, an hour and 20 minutes north.Late the next afternoon they finally called to tell me that my car needed a new heater core that would cost almost $1,700. That, in addition to the nearly $150 they charge just to diagnose the problem. I told them Id pick it up the following day, which I did. Another trip into Springfield, more miles on my husbands car and 2 1/2 hours out of an already busy day, just to go get it. So I wrote them out an invoice of my own, charging for the extra cost on my end as a result of them not honoring my appointment time. Im sure they laughed at that... and of course they did not discount my diagnostic bill to compensate, not one penny. In the meantime, I was in touch with a local trusted mechanic that I should have gone to in the first place, who said he could install a new heater core for about $750, less than half what the VW quote was. I wont be giving Napleton VW of Springfield any more of my business, and advise anyone else to steer clear as well.

ANYONE EVEN HEARD ABOUT ENGINE OIL MIXED WITH COOLANT IN ANY OF THE VEHICLES WITHIN 50000 KM. But happened in the great Volkswagen - Vento. I had suffered a lot in the night time during my drive due to that. Even I paid to change the parts again I have faced the same problem. Now my vehicle is in their service station and said me to take the vehicle since the fault is rectified in which I asked the assurance letter that if the same fault happens in future, you have to take back the car and return back my purchased invoice value because I have twice faced and affected very lot in the night time travel. If they give the assurance I can take and drive without fear. But they denied to give. That means they have doubts, so that hesitate to give. In this situation how I get my vehicle AND drive without fear as affected twice. If I take my car without assurance I can put it my showcase rather than drive. After an oil change a few years ago, my 2000 VW Passats stop engine light came on. I immediately pulled over and turned off the car. We had the car towed to the dealer, where they diagnosed it as needing a new oil pump due to the sludge problem. There was no class action lawsuit at that time. When we were later notified of the lawsuit, we submitted the paperwork with all of the maintenance records. VW still did not pay. They took all of the info and said that they needed more because the VW dealer did not indicate on the repair bill that the problem was due to sludge. I wrote and also verbally told the people handling the class action suit that the dealer had told me that it was due to sludge, but that did not seem to matter. This is all bogus. Although I really love the car, I will not ever buy another VW seeing as this is how they do business. I am disgusted by this experience.

Have a 2016 Passat. Laid keys in trunk and when rain started, shut trunk, forgetting keys were in it. Doors were unlocked, but could not get trunk open with internal latch, so had car towed into dealer. Already had a previous appointment to resolve electrical issues that had been ongoing from another dealer which had not been fixed. Car had 18k miles on it. Dealer could not get trunk unlocked, so instead of fixing the internal latch at the door to open the trunk, they called a locksmith and charged us $125 for a key to unlock the trunk. Got the car home, the key to unlock the trunk did not work. There is no place to put a key in the trunk, the latch still did not work and we could not get the trunk open. Called the dealer and they refused to refund $125.Did some online research and found there is a button in the glove compartment to push which resets the trunk, pushed the button and the trunk opened. Again, advised dealer of this and the inability of their staff to fix this issue and again requested refund, again was refused. Now, they wont even respond to us. When daughter went to pick up the car and pay for what was supposed to be an oil change, she questioned the charge and they were very rude to her, caused her embarrassment and caused her to cry. Volkswagen Customer Care refuses to help since the problem is not Manufacturer. The issue started from a dealer installed LoJack system, which customer was not made aware of. Dealer will not return calls, nor will GM.

Volkswagen Taiguan 2016 with push button start will drain the battery to zero by itself. I turned off the car by pushing the button and left the car parked in the daylight. At night the car automatically turned on the headlights and drained the battery. I was stranded the next morning and had to call roadside assist. This is the most stupid thing on the car. With only 175 miles I had to call assistance because the car turned on its own lights while parked. The tow truck driver said I was the fifth Taiguan he had jump started because of this problem. VW needs to correct this. If the driver touches the kill button twice, or bumps it while getting out of the car the ignition will go on after the engine is shut off and will eventually turn the lights on leaving you stranded. I should of listened. But I told myself, Lets see. I asked the guy, Why is it leaking? The car is new... Its only 5 years. So is this mean Volkswagen is not GOOD at all? I mean, our Mazda, Honda are more than 10 years, and nothing ever leaked. The only repaired we had was the tires changed. I just think this is BS. The guy told me, not to wait longer because it will cost me more. The motor for motion is leaking and it will cost me $600. WTF?

Our 2018 Atlas went in for 8 software updates around Thanksgiving, 2018. We still had a COLD heater, meaning blowing cold air like middle of the summer. Our Atlas December 5th with scheduled pickup of Dec 7th. We were given a loaner (a tiny Jetta, not 3 seat Atlas we are used to). But we thought, ok, we were told the fix would be done by Wednesday. Then, the next Wednesday, then more excuses. Let me tell you, after 2 months! We went to the dealer to get OUR payment after 1 month, to pay on our vehicle we DID not have. To find the entire inside dash and more completely torn out! The excuse was, it was always the wrong part, going to take another week. Finally, we opened a case with the regional so called manager, Chris. What did he and VW do for us? NOTHING. They delayed, and delayed and finally gave us (after calling and begging repeatedly), a drop dead date of February 1st, claiming their Lawyer process takes 10 working days, we still got a sorry, were very sorry, but it will be Monday or Tuesday before I can give you an answer. In the meantime, leading us to believe they were going to replace the vehicle at full cost, or more, and give us our two month payment back. GUESS WHAT! NOT!!! Chris and Volkswagen KEPT leading us on giving excuses as the dealer didnt send us the forms, blah blah BS. Chris, the so called regional manger and VW lead us on and kept delaying, until, guess what, they say, Come get your vehicle. Its fixed. Thats the response!!! No joke. It is Feb 8th!! We have been BURIED in snow. Our family has ridden in a NOT EVEN comparable vehicle for over 2 months. We have lost work time and more dealing with the issues, and, oh yeah, made two full payments on a vehicle we did not have. Did VW or the dealership compensate us for any of this??? NO NO NO. Come get your so called fixed LEMON vehicle. DO NOT EVER, EVER...I repeat, EVER buy VW...PERIOD. Im also forwarding this story on to DATELINE, and CBS for 60 minutes. This is more than a problem of VW in America, and hard working people. This has been just wrong.

I was unemployed and needed help regarding my car payment. Volkswagen of America agreed to make one payment 15 days before my 30 day late notice which would affect my credit score. They did not make the payment in a timely manner and my credit was severely blemished. It took almost a month for the payment to be made and unbelievably they put a stop payment on the check and my credit was hit again. They then made an electronic payment. And they have allegedly let the credit bureaus know to remove the derogatory remarks. Not one person at Volkswagen of America has apologized. Awful. Will hopefully rid myself of my current VW soon. No more.

Gunther Coconut Creek - the worst dealership ever!! Dishonest with their customers. I took my vehicle in last July due to water leaking into the vehicle from the windows. The floor got flooded and the vehicle smelled like mildew. They kept the car for more than a week and said they had fixed the problems and replaced the carpet. Only to find out, the carpet was NEVER replaced. The car still smelled like mildew. I took the car back to the service department and they refuse to replace the carpet. They also state there are no mildew smell at all. Beware of GUNTHER COCONUT CREDIT... They are sleazeballs!!

I just bought my car (used) five months ago with +_ 52,000 miles on it. Great carfax, nothing wrong with the car. A little over a week ago, the timing chain slipped and destroyed the engine, causing thousands of dollars in repairs. I have contacted everyone I can think of for assistance with this issue; considering the car only has a little over 61,000 miles on it now. Volkswagen has offered no help with the problem whatsoever. Considering this is a defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle, I would think they would offer some assistance considering the amount of trouble they are in now with the TDI trouble they are in. I have owned three cars previously and never had such a horrible experience with them. I went with Volkswagen because I was under the impression they were a reliable and dependable car. They are far from that. Because of this issue, I now have a car loan for the next 5 years and no car to show for it. I have researched this issue and its not just me with the problem. Many other people have had the same issue before 100,000 miles on their VW as well. If you are considering this brand, DONT! They are of no help and have so many loopholes in their warranty so when something catastrophic happens, you wont be covered. There are so many other car brands out there. Go with someone else. VW is a HUGE disappointment in customer service and reliability. Hopefully, with the current lawsuit they have against them, they will go out of business so no one else has this problem.

I bought a VW Tiguan in Dec. 2019, top of the line with bells and whistles. About 14,000 Km after, when I took it for the 15k km service, I asked them to have a look at the brakes as theyve started to make some noise. They said the brakes overheat, the metal is blue (sign of overheating) and they theyll need to be replaced. $1,500 invoice. They said the warranty doesnt want to cover it as it is a consumable. I know that the warranty doesnt cover consumables (oil, filters, brake pads etc), but this is the first car I have to change the brakes under 60,000 - 80,000 Km. I love my cars and I look after them, but I see this as a factory defect, not a user error.I would like to clarify something: Ive owned and drove multiple cars along the years. Im a car guy, I love cars. I bought the Tiguan for my wife, but I drove it 90% of the time due to some circumstances. I had multiple German cars, Japanese and American cars over the years. Just so you know, Im not looking for any freebies, discounts or anything like that. Just want the manufacturer and representatives to stand behind their claims and contracts. The dealer cant change them on warranty, theyve submitted pictures and technical reports to VW Canada but theyve rejected any warranty claims. Ive called them directly to talk about the situation, theyve opened another case and VW Canada said theyll get back to me in 48 hours. Few days later I called them again as I didnt hear anything from them. They said another 48 hours...This becomes a joke, they throw the blame from one to the other and together to the put it in the owners lap to pay it. The warranty is a shame, they make the best to get out of replacing faulty parts or repair them stating its user fault. I start to have doubts about the parts reliability and warranty, at least not in North America. Unless you have a blown engine in less than 1,000 Km, they wont cover anything, and even then, they might say youve done something wrong to it or looked in the mirror the wrong way.

I just took delivery of my 2014 Jetta Hybrid on Saturday. No easy way to put it but the claimed MPG for this Hybrid is BS. I have been driving it just highway miles and on cruise and only 2 mph over the speed limit 67 and I have been averaging 30 mpg. Which ** stinks. My reasoning for trading in my 2012 Audi was to get better gas mileage, which is not what is advertised on the sticker of 42 city and 48 highway. I am absolutely furious to say the least since I am well into a half a tank and only 200 miles. This is completely false advertising in the side of the manufacturer.I am so upset you have no idea. Just in the last 6 years, I have had 4 VWs and have been extremely loyal to the brand. I had an 2012 Audi and traded that since I was getting 28-30 mpg and driving much more. Since the Jetta is advertised at 42 city and 48 highway, I knew this was going to be a significant gain. This car is nowhere near what is claimed and I am completely upset about this. I will also be reach out to others on this matter.

I have owned 3 new VWs financed all 3 by VW credit, you never change the paperwork to reflect a paid loan, still 10 years later it says VW credit is a lien holder, not true. Many recalls on my former car that I continue to receive notices on even though I traded it into VW when I purchased my last VW. Just gave my final VW to a junkyard after service from a dealer here in Chicago that took a week to give me my car back and then the problem (coolant leak, replacement of tower) continued to leak and they tried to overcharge me but I had it in writing, very shady people, bad service, dont know anyone that has that kind of time. Just want to buy a car that I enjoy driving and be treated fairly, not too much to ask but VW has failed miserably, no more VWs for me sadly.

I love this car. It is reliable, compact, concubine, it fits my lifestyle, it gets good gas mileage and I like its sleek aerodynamic shape. I dont like Aquarius looking cars and this car is rounded on all its exterior chassis. I also liked the features for what I was purchasing. It felt like a quality care with quality accouterments at an affordable price. A good value for the money, indeed. However, I would like to see the Volkswagen in general including mine get better gas mileage. It is a 4.0 engine and should be getting a lot better mileage than its currently being. Very disappointing.

2017 Alltrack. Had we known how dreadful our selling dealer and VWoA customer care related to a new vehicle purchase would be, we would have immediately turned around and never looked back. Upon delivery of our new Volkswagen, we found several issues that we addressed and were told that theres nothing we can do. VWoA is basically useless when customers have legitimate complaints, so much for VWoA s concerns about the customer purchase experience. Without going in to detail, lets just say our experience left a very unpleasant taste in our mouths. There was no delivery inspection record or documentation, the literature and accessories were unpackaged scattered around the cargo area, one of the remote keys was defective, the fluid levels were below minimum requirements, the Navigation SD Card was found under the front seat, but the dealers 4 metal logo was prominently affixed to the rear hatch with some type of super glue. This is our last Volkswagen purchase. We feel that all we are to the dealer is a number in their quota. Pathetic!

On March 16, 2012, my daughter purchased a 2009 VW Tigua from Herman Cook, VW, Inc., 1435 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024. Since then, the vehicle has had numerous problems, and has cost her thousands of dollars in repairs at VW dealerships in Southern California. She has followed due diligence in having the car serviced, but has continued to have costly repairs. Listed below are the issues.June 27, 2012, only three months after purchasing vehicle, paid $290.95 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: front headlamp, engine oil service, balance 4 wheels, brake fluid replace and bleed. August 29, 2012, paid $237.30 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: removed and replaced driver side HID light bulb. June 7, 2013 paid $50 (deductible) at McKenna Volkswagen for: right headlight (Invoice **). April 22, 2014, paid $382.65 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice (**) for : bulb (N-103-201-02), perform campaign # **. Recall Fuse (Plug-in position F 16), 40,000 mile service (non-turbo). November 21, 2014, paid $241.71 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for : 013 campaign/recall 4515 CV burned out turning light bulb N-103-201-02 bulb, and 50,000 mile service.September 5, 2015, paid $3,075.52 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for Perform Intake valves De-Carb, 03511 optimizer 2 Pack, flush AC system and replace AC compressor, condenser and expansion valve, recharge AC system, replace wiper blades, replace rear brake pads, replace right brake lights, cornering lights, and bumper marker bulb (3 total bulbs replaced for this invoice). Invoice states EST: 1,069 31AUG15 13:34 SA: 1692). I believe there are major issues with design of engine that caused sludge to build up in engine at low mileage, and also poor AC design that caused compressor to come apart and cause tiny metal particles to infect the entire AC system that resulted in over $1,600 of AC repair.June 3, 2016, paid $2,465.90 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for replaced left outside brake light, replace leaking water pump and coolant, perform complete coolant system flush exchange, replaced leaking valve cover, vacuum pump gasket, upper timing cover and CAM sensor seal, replaced front brake pads, replaced 2 tires and balance new tires, front end align, perform oil change and filter.Today, August 13, 2016, as I was preparing this communication, my daughter texted me to say that the cars message system is now telling her that now something is wrong with the parking brake, and that another light needs to be fixed. This never ends, and the car is a lemon that has numerous faulty issues. Therefore, in four years of purchasing this used previously owned vehicle from a Volkswagen dealer, the lemon car has cost an additional $6,744.03. My daughter has been very diligent about taking the car in for routine service, but the additional costs are totally unacceptable and she, as a part-time working single mother with a 3-year old child, cannot continue to afford what I consider design flaw costs for the 2009 Volkswagen Tigua.

I own two VW vehicles, one is a VW Eurovan that recently have to replace 4 tires because they were splitting. According to my local VW dealer Dick ** they dont deal with tires. After I complain, they agree to check with their tire supplier and agree that the tires have some splitting due to some defects. Two weeks later I still waiting for the service manager to give me a resolution to this problem. After I contact him by email he respond, That is very typical waiting process. They forgot that when I purchase the tires at the dealer I paid in FULL. So far my tires went to the supplier on May 20th 2016, no answer yet.My next one is about my VW Jetta Wolfsburg Radio. Yesterday my radio stop working, no sound or power. I went online to check if there is a solution to this problem like a bad fuse and to my surprise I found out that this problem with the radio is very normal. Today I call VW of America and they say that unfortunately my car warranty expired and I have to fix this radio out of pocket. I exposing that to a VW customer that is been buying cars for more than 14 years is a shame to hear such a poor customer services. I was just thinking about buying a new VW Touareg. After this experience with VW of America and my local VW dealer I will change car brand after all competition is there to pick a better experience and representation.

After 6 years of being a loyal customer to Volkswagen, this is the thanks I get. I have a lease that is up Feb. 2016. November 2015 I was called into my dealer to trade out my car for a new lease. I explained I had fallen back on some payments, because I was out of work for a few months due to medical issues. I was making slow payments but doing my best. I had returned to work full-time and was ready to get the deal done with the new lease. They said Volkswagen, would not approve another lease because of slow payments. I was on-time every month for 51/2 years, and as you know real life happens sometimes. In any event the dealer said he was able to work out a deal and I should come in and sign papers. I arrived to the dealership at our scheduled time... waited 2 1/2 hrs. only to be told that there was an error. It was not approved and in fact Volkswagen credit wanted the dealer to confiscate my vehicle right there. They allowed me to leave yeah right gimmicks. I stepped outside and immediately called VW Credit to rectify the situation. They told me to make two payments and I would be up to date, or a least put back in the 30 mark. I agreed, I would go to Moneygram in the morning and get things squared away. Needless to say a few hours later my car was repossessed, from a friends private enclosed garage already suing which means I was followed to location lawsuit in effect. I only owed them $1,000. I had to pay $3200 to get my car back. Explain. Devils. My credit is now ruined, the vehicle is still due back in Feb. and I am assed out!! This is the second time they have screwed me over. I have bought them so much business I got 6 other family members to get a Volkswagen. So glad all leases are coming to an end. We will never support Volkswagen again. I will shout from the Mountain top!! Hate them all. Trust me lease or buy elsewhere!! Please believe me I have so many horror stories dealing with them!!

Ive had my 2013 Tiguan for 3 years now (3 months out of warranty). I love the way it looks and drives. However, even though Ive kept up with VWs recommended service, I just paid $2500 for repairs that shouldnt be happening on a car with 45k miles (a new alternator, timing case cover gaskets, control arms replaced, carbon cleaning). Just two months ago, the fuel door wouldnt open. The dealer sanded it down, calling it a manufacturing flaw (which I still dont get since it worked for a bit over 3 years). What Im getting at is that this VW is needing way too many costly repairs for a 3 year old car. I was expecting to have this car for well over 100k miles in great condition but Im not sure its going to work out that way. They sold me on the idea of German engineering being so good, lol. Fool me once.

I was recently involved in an accident where I was rear ended on a major highway. I was shocked at how little damage was down to my vehicle and how well it absorbed the impact. My initial thinking was that my vehicle was destroyed but it wasnt and I was able to drive my wagon into the town where there was a collision center. The total damage and cost was far less than I expected. I am so glad I took a chance and bought this vehicle. Kudos to Volkswagen and their team that designed the safety features and overall look and feel of this vehicle.

If a car is out of warranty by less than 30 days, is there a channel to go
If a car is out of warranty by less than 30 days, is there a channel to go through that promotes good will between the customer and VW? If a goodwill gesture is not possible, I have a question regarding the number of defects required for a recall? When a part failure occurs out of warranty, what recourse does your customer have? How does one go through the appropriate channels to ensure the customers complaint is followed up on? What documentation does the company have on the failure rate of the part in question? The reason I ask is, the driver side headlamp assembly (Produced by Hella) in my 2008 VW City Jetta stopped working. The part number for the head lamp assembly is 1JM-941-015-D. My best estimation is that there were approximately 4,400 - 4600 2008 VW City Jetta manufactured for the Canadian market. Note Sales volumes of City Jetta for the period 2007 - 2009 2007 City Jetta Sales Volume = 4449 2008 City Jetta Sales Volume = 4640 2009 all City models Sales Volume = 8421**Assumed 50/50 Split between City Jetta and City Golf in 2009Note that the 2008 City Jetta was only sold in Canada. Therefore the units that have required similar repairs to this point may not indicate that there is an issues and could theoretically could be viewed as statistically insignificant. A few things to consider, this is the only car that the headlamp assembly was manufactured for. It is not a common part that can be found on either the 2007 or the 2009 VW City Jetta, nor on the regular Jetta that was sold anywhere else around the world. Thus limiting the amount of data on the headlight assembly itself. The car in question has approximately 80,000 Kms on it. This indicates there was not an above average amount of use. Additionally, it has not been in a car accident and all parts are original equipment, including the bulb which was installed by VW of Windsor. The connecting wires between the head lamp and the socket melted, as stated by the VW of Windsor technician. I do not believe that this should occur under normal wear and tear on a car. The two VWs that I owned previously did not have this issue, nor was it encountered on any other vehicle that I have owned.Lastly, this part is not readily available to the public, because it was not used in any other vehicle. This makes the repair approximately $900. I have tried to find the part through other means and other repair facilities and was unsuccessful, because the part is so rare. If someone could please give me a call back to discuss my concerns it would be greatly appreciated.

One perk that sold me on my purchase of my Certified Volkswagen Tiguan was the car replacement or loaner auto promise (if car was disabled and had to be in the shop for over a day). However, I have had numerous occasions in which I had to leave my car at the VW service shop for repairs and was told there were no cars available or that there was nothing they could do. Either Volkswagen vehicles are spending more time in the shop than they are on the road or someone (i.e. Volkswagen) does not honor the promises made at the time of sale. Regardless of the answer, I would not recommend the purchase of a Volkswagen to anyone. This is my first and last Volkswagen vehicle purchase based on the poor service and misleading warranty information.

We purchased a new VW Tiguan late last year from Flow VW. This has been a very disappointing experience. The car was delivered dirty and has had 2 recalls that took 6 months to fix. One was interior lights and the other was a washer fluid issue. Both are now fixed but while all of this is going on we find out at 19K miles we have to replace tires due to cupping. We only found this out after they rotated the tires. It was so bad that you could feel it in the brakes and it sounded like a wheel bearing was out. I was told by a manager to call VW as this was the only way to get attention to this problem. I was also told this was probably a issues from the factory. In my call to VW they stated that they don’t make the tires and therefore can’t warranty them. Pretty sad I was pretty sure the car has a VW emblem on it and not the tire brand. I’m a big Toyota / Lexus guy so this was a big risk I took buying a VW. If youre considering buying a VW do your homework in researching I sure wished I would have.

My five years old 2011 VW Tiguan had two major mechanical problems. One problem with the fuel injection was fixed for free because of the recall. Another problem was the antifreeze leak that would cost me more than $3K to fix. That made me decide to trade it in for the reliable Volvo. One week after giving away Tiguan, the second car made by VW Jetta Sport Wagon 2013 didnt start. The dealership diagnosed sensor problem that can be fixed for only $300. After few hours they call us back (probably thought they didnt ripped us off enough) and told us that the computer is broken and need to be replaced. It will be another $1600 + $300 for the sensor that might be broken or not. We are very scared to hear from those VW people tomorrow. The car is very expensive and in the hands of people we dont trust who keep finding wrong things with very costly parts. I already told my sad story everyone I know. At this point we used to have two new cars and ended up with nothing just because we shopped at VW. I hope people learn from our mistake and that VW manufacturing stop producing these very expensive but so below lowest quality cars.
