The intake manifold has failed on my boyfriends 2010 CC sport. This part has an extended 10 year/120,000 mi warranty on it. His vehicle is just outside of that warranty in mileage (121,500) and they wont do anything to ease the cost of replacing part. The whole reason they extended the warranty was because they expected the part to fail within 10 years, and its definitely less than 10 years old. Because other car manufacturers would take this into consideration and do some type of prorate of split the difference in parts & labor or something of the like, we called and asked them to do this. And they just dont care. No reason to build brand loyalty, I guess. Every time weve had to deal with them, it has been a head ache - the Takata airbag recall for instance. My mom has a Honda. Honda gave her a rental until they could fix the problem because it is unsafe to drive at the risk of having a collision and being pumped full of shrapnel from your airbags. She got her car back, fixed, 2 weeks ago, though she was in a rental for about a month. When we called VW about it then best response that we could get was why its safe to continue driving it around. Or how the NHTSA doesnt find it unsafe. The funny thing is, I research EVERYTHING. And according to everything I found, the NHTSA is who demanded the recall. VW responded with a letter as to why they should be exempt from it. The recall was issued in 2014, and VW just started recalling in February 2016. Shame on this company for caring so little about its drivers & for being so reckless with consumers lives in general. VERY disappointing. If you want reliability, you may want to go with a less expensive vehicle as they seem to have a better attitude and overall view of customer service.

I love these cars, but I am not understanding how the AC system went out twice in my ownership of this car. 2017 at 75k and 2019 at 136k. What is wrong, you should recall. It was out of pocket expense for me. No extended coverage expired at 65k.

Unfortunately, in only about a month after a complete failure and replaceme
Unfortunately, in only about a month after a complete failure and replacement of the Turbocharger unit, an even more dramatic failure occurred. After an erratic idle, the vehicle EPC light came on, followed by a loud metallic noise coming from the engine. We immediately stopped the vehicle and arranged towing. According to the authorized Volkswagen service technician, the timing chain tensioner has completely failed and has caused a damage to the cylinder head. Total cost to replace cylinder head, timing chain, tensioner, parts, labor = more than $5,500.00.It is worth noting that we have been more than diligent in making sure that the vehicle has always been serviced according to the maintenance schedule. When we bought the vehicle new, we had purchased the extended 7-year premium warranty extension from Fidelity (which just expired earlier this year). After spending close to $2,000 out-of-pocket to repair the turbo unit, we are now faced with another $5,500+ bill. A quick search on the internet reveals that there are numerous early failures of the timing chain tensioner on the 2.0T engine, including lawsuits and a pending class-action investigation. It is almost not an overstatement to say that we have experienced nothing but grief with this vehicle. Everything from complete engine failure, turbocharger failure, all-wheel drive differential failure, fuel pump failure, air intake failure, throttle body failure, sunshade failure to a check engine light coming on every 6 months like clockwork, requiring random wild goose chase fixes such as clean up the air intake gum...VW has definitely a huge amount of responsibility here. It is obvious that all these failures are way above the average normal expectations that a car owner should have from a 2009 vehicle that has been serviced according to the schedule. Faulty parts, skipped due-diligence in design and test or whatever other reason, it is clear that VW has ONCE AGAIN proven to U.S. consumers that their products are of inferior quality and therefore their advertising is deceiving and misleading and their products overpriced. The case of the timing chain tensioner is a great example of how severe a failure can be. This goes beyond the scope of unnecessary burden or inconvenience. This a dangerous failure as when it happens it can result in complete immobilization of the vehicle causing a great threat to the safety of the driver, passengers and other vehicles on the road.

My 2008 VW Jetta auxiliary input stopped functioning after a routine maintenance required that the battery be disconnected. The CD changed and AM/FM work normally, but the auxiliary input jack stopped! Poor design requiring me to go to the dealer to reinstate functionality (for a price) which I have already paid for. This amongst other things (ehem...transmission noise and metal in the transmission oil) have left me with a distaste for my 1st and last VW.

2015 VW Golf - After receiving the safely recall in the mail, I spoke (after many times trying) with service at the dealer I bought the car from. I have not even reached 10,000, my first oil change. They told me to wait until then, and I was fine. Two days ago, a light came on saying that my gas cap wasnt on.....okay. That message went off, but today my engine light is on. I bought this car in September of this year, brand new, and already this is happening. Things do happen, but when I called with the concern that I might die in a car fire (leak could cause this according to the recall) they couldnt get me in until next Monday. Annoyed, I called back and suggested I drop off my car and take a loaner. Nope.... Customer service is terrible so far, at least at my dealership. On top of this, a car wash knocked off the drivers side back of my side view mirror, and a plastic runner on the seat already broke off. Im completely disappointed, despite the quick handling and nice interior. I just needed to vent.

I have a 2018 Tiguan which the gas odometer keeps going haywire and when this happens the radio system will not turn on. I have taken to the dealer twice and they have reset it and now they tell me this is just something I have to live with and it is not unusual. Why even have the feature if it does not work accurately. The more I drive the higher the number of miles it says I have in the tank and is now at 4082 miles.

I traded my car, which was leased with VW Credit. The dealer I traded the car with sent two cashier checks to pay off the car. VW Credit sent the dealer the title to the car I traded in and the car was sold. VW Credit now claims I owe them $14k+ because one of the cashier checks wasnt signed. Mind you, they never called me nor did they call the dealer. I called them because they owe me $2,400 that I overpaid. They refuse to refund my money and continue to claim that I owe them. Every time I call, I am left on hold for 30+ minutes while the person tries to figure out what is going on. They continue to promise to return my calls and never do. This corporation is very irresponsible and unprofessional. No one knows what they are doing. Do not do business with these people. I am likely going to take legal action.

Our 2014 leased Volkswagen Jetta broke down in NH in March 2016. We live in Rhode Island. The car was suddenly billowing black smoke and all dash lights were on. We pulled off to the side of the highway, pulled out the auto roadside brochure and called the number on the cover. Their customer service rep took all our information. He took our phone # and said he would make the arrangements for the car to be towed and find a rental car agency that was open as it was Sat night and approaching 9 pm. I received a TEXT from him with the name of the tow company that would pick the car up and that had called the only car rental agency open in the area (Manchester Airport 91.7 miles from our home). He told them we would be there shortly as they were about to close. He provided us with a discount call that they honored. Our car was towed to the nearest Volkswagen dealership Autofair Manchester NH 87.8 miles from our home. The car was repaired the following Monday afternoon. We picked it up early Tues morning and returned the rental to the Manchester Airport. Per the instructions in brochure we submitted the charges for the tow 79.00 and 221.00 for the rental. We then received 2 denials of reimbursement. The tow was denied because they said we used a tow service that was not authorized. WE did not choose the tow service, the rep at the Volkswagen Roadside Service did. The text he sent me clearly stated that. They denied the rental car charge saying their parameters are 100 miles. We appealed the denials with Customer Service and they too denied both claims. Needless to say it never crossed our minds to ask the rep of Volkswagen Road Service to use an authorized Volkswagen tow service. We asked how they calculated the distance to our home from NH, they didnt know. We are both in our 70s and had a lease to ensure that we had dependable car backed by reliable customer service in the event of auto malfunction. Obviously this was an assumption on our part. The last agent we spoke with (Martin) at Volkswagen said he was sorry but thats the way it is. The experience of sitting along a busy highway for 2 hours was not pleasant one, but nothing compared to the deceitful business method of Volkswagen. Though we are well aware that Volkswagen could not care, but we will no longer give them our business nor will recommend them to anyone we come in contact with.

On the 19th October 2017 my Polo Gti which is still under warranty broke down at approximately 6 pm. This vehicle is currently doing 41000km and is still under warranty. My biggest concern or disappointment is that this car gave no warning and just breaks on a busy street with my family in the car. What if this car had broken down in the middle of nowhere or worst in a dangerous area putting mines and my familys life at risk?I then had to wait two hours for roadside assist to tow the vehicle away. I was told the next day by VW Umhlanga that they busy and my car will be only looked at on Monday. After phoning whoever I could I managed to get hold of service manager of VW Umhlanga who said that he will try have a look at the vehicle that afternoon.Saturday morning I got a call saying they did a software upgrade and the car is fine. 1. Why did roadside assist send a tow truck from Mount Edgecombe to tow the breakdown in Tongaat, is that the nearest breakdown services, because I know its not, I personally know a towing company in the area that is VW accredited. 2. Secondly why was the vehicle towed to Umhlanga who was clearly not willing to have a look at the car till Monday. Had I not made a fight about it, and to my knowledge VW Ballito is much closer.I am now worried as this vehicle has a warranty that ends at 45000km or next year 2018. There was no warning of it breaking and no explanations as to why it did. What if it has similar problems as soon as this warranty expires and the headache and costs of this vehicle now becomes mines. I spent 32000 rand on this vehicle and breaking down in the middle of a busy street was the last thing I expected.I am hoping VW comes up with a solution as to maybe extending this vehicles warranty and guarantee this problem never arises at all. If I do not get a reasonable solution from VW I will make sure I complain on every platform be it the ombudsmen or Hellopeter. I just think that breaking down in a vehicle that costs over 300000R without no warning and just be told by the agents its a software problem and we dont know why it has happened is unacceptable. I am hoping to get feedback from you soon.

So they sent another one that would be here in a few minutes. After another hour and a half, they said they would send another one. This one came an hour later, but they sent the WRONG typed! I told them many times I needed a flatbed because I had 4 slashed tires!!! Dont ever use VW Roadside Assistance. All CC models are affected by this tire/alignment issue. Dealers and VW are not forthcoming about the actual problem. There is nothing wrong with the continental tires the vehicle comes with, they are wonderful tires and do not have any record of defects or recalls. The issue is the CC chassis. It is a front heavy car built on a completely different and unique chassis than the regular Passat. They obviously had issues getting the car to track correctly through corners using a standard stance and camber. So they widened the suspension stance and added negative camber in the front to achieve better grip with the heavy front end. (Even with the factory set up you can feel the front end wanting to float off in the opposite direction of the corner at higher speeds.) They did not make the camber adjustable in the front, only the rear is adjustable. This means that you can put any brand tires on, rotate and align as often as you want and you will still ruin your tires every 10,000 miles. So add another $1,000.00 per year for cost of ownership of this car. I am absolutely appalled that VW has made this their dirty little secret and just assume that their customers wont figure this out. Shame on you, VW.

I turned in my lease 3 months early because I was going to go over my mileage. I went in to discuss options. They told me they would waive my remaining months for buying a new vehicle with them. Now 3 month later I get an invoice for 1500 (way more than 3 payments of my lease) and VW is pawning this off on the dealership, Volkswagen Cypress, who won’t return my phone calls or emails. They are flat out scamming me! VW main office were so rude and horrible. I will never do business with them again and warn everyone to stay away from VW. My Jetta just had its engine blow up essentially. There is a manufacturer defect and these should have been recalled. I was driving when the engine decided to just stop working. I could have killed someone. There is a class action lawsuit for this exact issue. When trying to get this issue resolved and get a portion covered to replace the motor, we were given the run around. We have been told that it would be 10k for a new motor. The consumer “advocate” says there is nothing they can do about it and refuses to escalate this to another individual above her pay grade. VW has poor customer service, questionable business model and just overall poor business practices. I will NEVER purchase another VW and I caution others in the purchasing of one. My 2012 VW Tiguan (30,000 miles) has to have the engine replaced. I take it to Bethesda Oarsman dealer. Thankfully I had the extended warranty but they had my car for over 2 months. When I got it back this new engine was making clunking noise every time I turned right. Took it back and they said they fixed it but still had the noise with a new noise happening every time I started to accelerate. Took back it again. Then my sunroof starting leaking and mats were soaked. Took it in again and they said they fixed it.3 weeks later after I was away for 2 weeks and not using the car I got in and the entire car was damp with Mildew everywhere. Took it in again and they had it for 2.5 months and told me it was fixed so I came and picked it up. Drove it that night but the car still stank of mildew and it rained and water was dripping from all the windows. Defroster just made it worse and was dangerous driving. Took it back in again the next day and told them they didn’t fix anything. Left it there for another 2 weeks. Got a call telling me it was ready again so went to pick it up and car still stinks like mildew and mold is still on seatbelts. Left it there and this is where I am now. NEVER BUY A VW!!

I went in because my car stopped in the middle of the road 5 times on a Friday. Volkswagen provided me a car for the weekend and then told me on that Monday which was October 9th that there was a recall on the fuel pump and module and that is why my car is stopping in the middle of the road. I called Tom Bush Volkswagen in Jacksonville on that Friday when my car stopped because I was in the middle of traffic and almost got hit. I was in tears and that is why the guy got me a car to drive for the weekend. They want me to pay $850.00 for parts that is not my fault. I dont have money for that and just recovering from Hurricane Irma. I do not have it. I am not mad at Tom Bush they tried everything to get my car fixed for the recall. I am more than frustrated with the Volkswagen company because I was told I have to pay for the parts and they know it’s a recall and then they will reimburse me. I feel in danger to drive my car and have not driven my car since then because it stops more than three times in traffic. I feel like Volkswagen should fix my car because they know it’s a recall. This is not my fault so why am I catching rides to and from work because I cant drive my car. This rating really deserves a zero. Volkswagen does not care about my safety or my familys safety when I have to try and drive a car that stops because of their faulty equipment. Something needs to be done and fast. Its now a month and I have no car to drive.

Have a 2012 Volkswagen CC that needs 7200.00 worth of engine work on a part that broke before it was even due to be inspected based on Volkswagen’s service maintenance guide. Called Volkswagen to see if they would cover the repair, or at least give me some kind of assistance. They basically said my warranty was up, I’m on my own. Which really surprised me. My reasoning for asking Volkswagen to make an attempt to correct this problem, was that their service maintenance guide said, “90,000 miles, timing chain and tensler should be inspected, and possibly replaced. Well my timing chain, and tensler did not make it to the 90,000 mile inspection. Which in turn destroyed my cylinder head when it broke. Leaving me with a 7,200.00 repair bill. BUYER BEWARE!!! I called back on that Friday and explained what they had done and asked the CSR again if she was sure that they werent going to try to take the first payment out again before I set up a new one. She assured me that they would not so I went ahead and set up the payment again. Again, she was clueless because they did indeed try to now take out 2 payments! This caused another overdraft fee and a stop payment for the second payment. I called again and they stated that they needed a copy of my bank statement proving the $88.00 in fees so I faxed them the statement and called back 3 days later. The payment had not been processed and the CSR had to place me on hold for 10 minutes to go find the fax! He assured me that a check would go out to me that day. Well, that was 5 days ago so I called back today and another CSR manager apologized and stated that somehow it didnt get send to the correct department for approval so she would take care of it today. In late 2008 my wife bought a 2004 Passat with a 1.8 turbo. All was good until about 70,000 miles then it all started to go bad. She had purchased the extended warranty so at first I was not worried and was under a false impression that the top end warranty package we paid dearly for will cover any issues we have with the masterpiece of German engineering. It started with the axles making a clicking noise when you were making a turn which being somewhat mechanically inclined I realized it would be the CV joints failing.I had my wife drop the car off at the dealer, well two and a half days later they call and let her know that due to the fact that the axle boots were torn and they where a wearable part that were not serviced regularly and it would not be covered under warranty. (So apparently you are supposed to pull axles every so often to change boots?) She inquired on the cost of replacement to be told it would cost $1100.00. I told her to call and tell them to do nothing and we will pick up the car. I was able to purchase the axles for $52.00 each and replace them in about 1 1/2 hours. So I ask, Where is $1100.00 justified? And how many people have been screwed by their VW service center? Problem 2 we had was the power windows, The driver side front and rear. Not at the same time but both had issues, The rear had a pin fall out which attached the window to the frame of the power mechanism. The front had plastic clips that broke which caused the window to fall into the door and at a later date the window motor failed. During this trip to the shop I inquired about the ignition coil recall, To my surprise they covered it all under warranty. Problem 3 was a temp sensor which caused the engine light to come on which once again to my surprise they covered under the warranty.Problem 4 was the engine oil pressure warning light and as you have read or will read in other complaints on this page due to the fact it is a used car with no paper work on servicing prior to my owning it I to am out of luck. Not to mention it took 3 days for them to get back to us. I myself use nothing but synthetic oil in all my vehicles and maintain them regularly. I was told by the dealer that the car has engine sludge and it would cost between $1500 and $7000 to make repairs. So once again I told my wife to not let them do anything to the car and have it towed to my in-laws house where he has a car lift in his shop.We pulled the suspension loose and back to access the oil pan and then pulled the pan. The pan and lower half of the motor was spotless except for what appeared to be a mixture of gasket and sealant particles built up around the oil pick up tube. That leads me to believe that the story of oil sludge is a crock of crap they came up with to cover their own ** due to faulty workmanship. We cleaned the pan and pulled the valve cover to check the top end and the results where the same, SPOTLESS, Imagine that. So anyone who is told they have sludge you should question the truth of that statement.Problem 5 was the instrument panel information center fading out on hot days to the point where you could not see any information displayed. At that time the driver side mirror glass had also fell out while driving on the freeway. I was so furious with the VW dealer that I did not want take it to them to see if they would deny repairs. My wife took it in and to my surprise once again they actually covered it. Oh, not the mirror it was not covered. Problem 6 as the mileage limit of 80,000 approached the check engine light came on again so I had my wife take it in. From this trip we received no explanation to why the light came on and where told it would be reset. However we did receive a list of items from their million point inspection or whatever they call it which totaled over $4000.00 and that the warranty would cover about a $1000.00 of it if we decided to have the work done. I requested an email of work to be done which was sent to me about a day after I requested it. Now for the problem with the quote, I apparently needed a new battery which would be ok but I had replaced it no more than 2 weeks prior to taking it in. The report stated I needed to have 2 of the coils replaced even though they had supposedly replaced them during a previous trip. What am I supposed to think about the rest of the list after reading about things that were recently replaced, Anyways the list went on and on more than I would like to explain. As of now the car is sitting in the driveway with a serious misfire and the code I pulled out of it was PO300. This is a random misfire code which does not give a fix for the problem it just gives a list of possible necessary repairs. If I will have to make all repairs on this list it could cost $1300,00 to $1800.00 which I will have to do, Due to the mileage expiration of the warranty. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A VW OF ANY KIND POST 1970. YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY!!!

Only owner of this car (bought it new) and it has only 112,000 miles. I have complained about the transmission in this car since day 1. They scan and tell me nothing is wrong with it. Today I was told I need to replace the transmission for $5700!!! I called VW to see if there was anything they could do and all they tell me is that I am out of warranty (ends at 60,000) and there are no recalls. Stay away from this car.

On June 26, 2015 I contacted VW customer care because the third window in my 2009 VW beetle convertible had a window regulator go out. My complaint number was **. My car had 30,427 miles on it at the time. I complained to them about my window regulators failing on the front and back drivers side and now the back passenger window. I had already fixed the front drivers side and was quoted around $1100 to fix the back window (which I could not afford), now the passenger window went out. On 7/1/15 they replied back that there was nothing they could do because my vehicle was outside the original 3-yr/36,000 mile warranty but they thanked me for contacting them. Well yesterday my front passenger window went out. Help Me!!!

I must say they look very nice and stylish, but I been at the repair shop it seems like every 3 mos since Ive had it, thank God I had a extended warranty or I would be screwed of out of pocket repair cost. In 2014 I had to get my transmission replace, my headlights goes out every 3 mos, my coils constantly has been replace, I tried trading my car but no one wants to give me a good trade-in value so thats upside down, Im now dealing with a lemon law lawyer and hope I can get a full buyback. I have had a rattle since June in my 2018 Atlas. It has been in 5 times for this problem. Now they say I need a new seat frame and they have no clue when it will be in. It could take a month or 5 months. You cannot even listen to the radio because the noise is so loud. I have taken with customer care service and they are useless. They refuse to replace the seat from another VW Atlas that is on the lot. I am sure they can do a temp repair of putting foam in the seat frame but they wont even do that. I would strongly recommend not buying a VW product due to their very poor customer service and the futility of getting repair parts.

I purchased my 2014 Volkswagen CC in September of 2014. I was so excited to join the VW family. I leased this vehicle to get my feet wet and determine if I would be a lifelong VW customer. Well, in 2016 while driving down one of Houstons busiest freeways my car stalled and I was just barely able to pull to the side of the road. I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership where they kept it for 4 days. They replaced multiple parts, it seemed fine. The very next morning I got up and the car wouldnt start. I had to have it sent back to VW in which they discovered an issue with the fuel pump module. After replacing this part, I drove it back home and the next day it wouldnt start again, maybe the third time is a charm. I had it towed back to VW and they replaced the battery. Less than a year later with my son in the car, the vehicle died again. Luckily I wasnt struck by another vehicle. I had it towed to the nearest VW service center in which they told me it was the fuel module again, but it was out of warranty and I would have to go through VW cares to see about getting it replaced or I would be responsible for an 1,800 repair bill. Well, after going back and forth with them they agreed to replace the part. Can you imagine how unsettling and scary it is to drive a vehicle that has such a huge safety issue and recall with no permanent fix. Well, this weekend I was driving down the freeway and the vehicle stopped again, I was blessed enough to pull to safety. My 10 year old son was in the back seat praying we wouldnt get hit. I had the vehicle towed to VW Saturday night at 8pm, so I was without a vehicle for the entire Easter weekend and couldnt get my son to his obligations. Monday morning I received a call from service advises, my brake fluid was green, the control arm bushings were cracked/dry rot and I needed an alignment totaling 1,000+ in expenses. The service rep stated this was just the beginning, but there was also several transmission codes and the diagnostic would be 135 to see exactly whats wrong with the vehicle. I told her to go ahead that was at 9am, its now 6:30 pm and I have yet to hear anything. I called around 3:00 pm to be told the clutch was out and they were trying to get me a quote for a transmission and to expect my service rep to call before end of day. Well, I am truly disappointed in the service, maintenance and overall Volkswagen CC. I will list all parts Ive had replaced on the vehicle and estimated repair costs since Ive had the vehicle. Ribbed belt. Tensioner. Valve. Separator. Mounting. Bearing. Turbo valve and crankcase breather leaking oil. Washer. Fuel unit. Control un. Battery. Battery disposal fee. I have not added the additional services that Ive had in the past 6 months.

I bought my wife her second Golf. It was a brand new 2010 model made in Mexico. Her first Golf was made in Germany but it did have some problems with the A/C compressor clutch at 10K miles, instrument cluster light flickers, inoperable stereo and consistent brake issues. Now onto the Mexican made Golf nightmare. During the first 6K miles my wife has been stranded three times. Transmissions electrical and mechanical component failure. A/C compressor failure at 7K miles, window regulator driver side at 9K miles, another one on passenger side at 11K miles, rear windows completely inoperable at 14K miles, rear defroster inoperable, driver door failed to unlock, exterior window rubber seals distorted resulting in leaks, stereo digital display failure, and of course, numerous engine light ups. The craftsmanship was horrible. Loose, shakes, rattles and mysterious noises. Service techs blame VWs Mexico plant for being in production start-up mode. Thats an unacceptable excuse. I dont recall Honda, Toyota or Nissan selling junk because of production transfer. Regardless of all the cheap and stupid excuses VW created, the Golf is long gone; thanks to a lease we broke early. I feel terribly bad for the next owner. Based on numerous reviews and data from reliable agencies, VW seems to continue in producing hit-or-miss cars. Two Golfs were enough to deter my wife in ever touching another VW product. Too bad for her because she loved Golfs. She has since bought a new Rav4, against my recommendation, and loves it. She has put 45,000 miles with absolutely NO ISSUES. Not a single problem.

I am fairly new to the VW family, but have been a loyal member up until now
I am fairly new to the VW family, but have been a loyal member up until now. I have a 2014 Passat SE TSi with only 57K miles on it. It is in pristine condition (my son has a 2008 Jetta SE as his first car). I am extremely unhappy about a design flaw that has occurred; something that VW knows exists and has existed for some time. The fuel door stopped opening (and there is no manual override or cable in the trunk to open it). The actuator had gotten out of sync with the cars locking system. Running on fumes, I took that car to Kotters VW in Escondido, CA. Kotters is a certified VW specialist that has been in the same location for more than 35 years. They are first rate and highly respected. After looking at my car and doing so research, including speaking to VW, the master mechanic informed me of the design flaw to which there is no real fix (just temporary ones). So that I could get gas and use the fuel door without fear of it happening again, he disabled the lock to the door. Now I can open and close manually, but cannot lock it.This is not the ideal solution and is not how the car was designed, but I do not want to get stranded. The fuel door is part of the fuel system as a vital component of the car. It should not fail at 57K miles and should be covered until at least 60K. Unfortunately, this is very common, and if you look online, many others have battled it.He was able to re-sync the fuel door lock with the cars door locks, but after testing it, the fuel door locked up again after about 10 times. I contacted VW and was told they could likely assist with the repair but that I would need to pay a dealer to diagnose first. This is not acceptable. I paid a reputable mechanic $100 to diagnose and provide temporary resolution. I am not going to pay a dealer again to learn the same thing. I want it fixed right. My point to the customer service person was that it does not matter what the diagnosis says; the fuel system needs to be accessible! Regardless of what it is, whether it is the actuator itself or something in the cars locking system, it needs to be resolved as soon as possible.I would like an appointment set up at Kearny Mesa VW in San Diego, John ** is the service manager. Please assist me in getting this fixed so I can again be a confident VW owner. If it is the actuator, the part is about $35-50, and the labor is likely an hour (open up truck liner and swap out). I have never had something like this happen with our Honda or Toyota vehicles, and never in a car so new. I would rather have to get a different brand than get stuck without the ability to refuel. Thank you very much for your timely assistance.

I bought my 2010 VW CC sport a few months ago. I was pretty happy with it at first. I rolled 60K and took it down to Hallmark (Henderson TN) dealership. I asked for the 60k service that my manual stated it needed which includes the following: oil change, spark plugs and coils change, tire rotation, brake inspection. I paid 300 for all this to be completed. After leaving the dealership my car starts misfiring after only 20 min. I drive it home and called the dealership only to be told CARBON build up in the motor needed to be cleaned. (There is no carbon build up.) I asked for more details and they hung up. So I decided to look into my car and see what they actually did. Lo and behold the spark plugs were still in the car from 2014. They charged me $90 for the tune up that they did not even do. I looked at the coils and it was the same thing. Except the coils were the original 2010 ones. Now my car wont even stay running because of something that they did during their SERVICE. They want to charge me another 1300 for them to re-diagnose the issue and clean the non existent carbon. (The carbon was previously cleaned before taking it to them.) MY advice, do the basic maintenance yourself and dont ever visit this dealership. If I could afford to swap this VW off it would be gone like yesterday.

I thought I loved VW. Heck, I use to live in a town just outside of Wolfburg, GE. (Erkerode) It was a happy day when I purchased my 1st VW Jetta TDI. Drove like a champ and great on gas. Main reason I got it was because my daily commute was 2hrs 15min 1 way (all highway). Everything was good. Getting oil changes and services IAW VW. Then the emissions scandal happened. And I wont drone on about that. But, shortly thereafter I had a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) problem. No worries, I thought, Im still covered by Warranty, just barely. Bring her in to my local Dealership, they take a look and say that they need to do a manual regeneration. Next day, I pick her up, warning lights are off, and everything is good to go.The following day, I make my trek to and from work. And wouldnt you know it, the DPF light is back on. I call up the Dealership and drop her back off at the next available appointment. The kind folks at the Dealership even put me up in a Courtesy Vehicle. The next day I pick my car up after they explained to me that they had to do a deeper cleaning. Hey, no worries, this is all covered by Warranty. I happily drive home thinking that this issue has been resolved. Weekend goes by, Monday is here and I make my way to and from work. I get home and lo and behold, the DPF light is back on. Now Im getting frustrated and its apparent that something else must be wrong. I call the Dealership and they tell me that the only other thing they can do is replace the DPF altogether. It doesnt seem right, but they are the experts and it is under Warranty, so I drop her off. I get my car back, drive back and forth to work a few times, problem solved...Or so I thought. 20,000 miles later, I get a new set of lights on my instrument panel. This time its a flashing Glow Plug light, the Check Engine light, and a text display of a flashing wrench followed by the words Inspect. Wow, thats A LOT of stuff. But hey, at least its not the DPF light. I take a glance at my Owners Manual (OM) to see what these things mean. According to the OM, both the flashing Glow Plug light and Check Engine light means Engine Control Malfunction, and the flashing wrench had to do with the Transmission. GREAT... I just put a new transmission in my other car, but thats neither here nor there. I call up the Dealership and schedule an appointment. They have it for a day and then the Technician gives me a call to inform me that the codes came up for the DPF. So what they needed to do was run a regen and it would cost 300 something dollars. At this point, Im out of Warranty. If money is coming out of my pocket, Im going to make my questions and concerns known. I proceed to ask the Technician that if its a DPF problem, why is it that the DPF light didnt come on AND how is this possible, VW JUST replaced the DPF. Needless to say, he did not have an answer for either of those questions and said that hed give me a call back in 10 minutes or so. About 10 min go by and I get a call from a Service Rep that is familiar with my car and the whole DPF dilemma. She proceeds to tell me that they are going to investigate the matter and contact the main VW Tech something or another. The following morning, she gives me a call to tell me that VW Tech said it is a Failed Temp Sensor and that it will cost $2,625.14 to get it fixed and that I should call VW Customer Care about this to see if they can help the situation.ROFLMAO, they must have lost their minds. You mean to tell me that had I not questioned their original findings, I would have dropped $300 only to have the same issue keep popping up. So I did a little research. Apparently, when the Glow Plug light and Check Engine light pops up, it does that because the DPF is at 75% loading or is saturated with 40 grams of soot because the regen process isnt kicking in. And you dont have to be a genius to come to the assumption/conclusion that if the regen process (which cleans the filter), isnt activating because the Temp Sensor is bad, that driving approximately 20,000 miles without a proper regeneration occurring could lead to a DPF with 75% loading.Meaning, the Temp Sensor was most likely faulty the 1st time I was having the recurring DPF problems, only money wasnt coming out of my pocket at the time so I didnt question it, therefore the Dealership Technicians didnt further investigate it and come to the realization that that was the underlying issue. Quite convenient for VW. So, I take the Service Reps advice and call the VW Customer Care number that same day (today). The representative on the line was polite, and after a lengthy discussion she informs me that there is nothing they can do to help because my vehicle is no longer under warranty. She ALSO tells me that this $2,625.14 operation is just a suggestion from VW Tech on a possible resolution to my issue. That the VW Tech is not saying that the Temp Sensor is bad, but that it COULD fix the problem.WHAT... Youre telling me that I cough up $2,625.14 for something that VW most likely missed the first go around AND it may or may not resolve the issue... Thats unacceptable. On multiple levels that is unacceptable. 1st, that I have to pay for something that the Dealership missed/misdiagnosed the first time around and 2nd that they expect me to pay this sum of money when it might solve the issue, but they are not sure. So, I asked the kind lady if there was another number that I could contact to voice my displeasure/concern and was told, Im sorry, this is it. The sad thing is that this was a great car until the DPF issue. It was so good that my wife was wanting a VW as her next car, despite the Emission Scandal. LoL, needless to say, while typing this up, she sent me the following text, Well no more VWs for us.

I have a 2012 Volkswagen CC. In November of 2013 my car loss power and had to be towed to dealership. They replaced the fuel injector and stated all 4 spark plugs were burnt and fouled. November of 2014, my car lose power again. Went to Autozone for a read. Cylinder misfire #2 code P0302. Take back to dealership and was told it was a misfire but they state its a random misfire as to not suggest that the last year problem was not resolved. I am charged $744.88 for a Sea foam Cleaning. $20 parts 4 new spark plugs $17 (spark plugs were replaced last year) and a carbon clean. The bill listed a total of $90 in parts, $598.00 in LABOR!! Plus tax and $10 miscellaneous charge. Sea foam cleaning can be found on YouTube and all it does is you put it in your engine and run your car until the exhaust system runs clear!! 2 year old car with engine problems! Last year breakdown details were very detailed probably due to being under warranty. This year they didnt even explain the reason for needing to replace 1 year old spark plugs.

Purchased as certified preowned in 2015, after the first year of ownership multiple, MAJOR repairs have been completed. The ignition lock broke and would not allow me to turn my vehicle on or off at random times. The headlights had to be replaced three times in one year. For some reason the dealer could not explain, yet miraculously fixed. At the end of 2018 North Park Volkswagen had my vehicle for a month to diagnose problems they could not find the first time around. Turned out to be the timing chain and tension pulley (which never failed on a different car I owned that was 20 yrs old). Coincidentally, the battery died at the same time and I was made to pay for it. Add that the fuel pump failed (again, at the same time) and when they returned my car to me, was leaking gasoline in puddles. Just about the only thing left to fail is the transmission! Thank goodness for the extended warranty! I was very disappointed with the quality of the car, overall, and with the lack of concern and poor service. The dealer and service department used to impress me, but the more problems the car THEY sold me had, the less responsibility they took and poorer their customer service became. Even VW of Americas corporate office failed to follow up with me until almost a month later.

About a month later (definitely not within the qp days VW was supposed to respond). I got a final offer letter. I signed the correct places, had it notarized and faxed it on as directed. Two weeks and two phone calls later to customer support the status remained as waiting for fax. So I faxed the documents again. Another wasted phone call to CS to find out why they dont/cant acknowledge receiving my fax... Then I get an email stating I didnt send all pages of my offer. So back to another fax ($8) every time. Twenty four hours later status is waiting for fax... I have transmission receipt showing all 7 pages were successfully sent. Another call to CS and again they give me a non answer... I have no way of knowing. VW is stalling. What is our next recourse?

Kateryna of Northfield, IL on Nov. 19, 2014. In reference to a review about Tiguan VW. I had the exact same chain of events including the sudden stopping of the engine, false lights, the computer fixing by the dealership. But my Tiguan 09 @52,000k stopped completely (engine) in a very cold/snow winter morning with our then 6-month old baby in the car. The car had to be towed!! The car was still under warranty 52,000 & less than 5 yrs. yet the dealer and VW refused to fix the car. We made payment To VW the car isnt working for 18 months. So we lost around $30k and we have no car! We have a second car its a Jetta 2011. We are experiencing similar issues and we feel absolutely frustrated dealing with VW. We are wasting too much time, energy and most of all money on VW. The worst experience ever twice!!

My car is only four years old and have full service every year. The clutch snapped and went through the gear box costing thousands. Im a pensioner and disabled. I have found out, since that this is becoming more and more of a problem, why has VW not recalled these cars in to solve the problem out?

The engine in the 2013 VW GTI we leased burned up at 25,000 miles. Nine days before this happened, the dealership where we leased it from refused to honor the service agreement and misled us as to whether or not it was due for service. As a result at the BBB arbitration between us and the manufacturer, we were held responsible for 1/2 of the cost of replacing the engine on a 2013 vehicle with only 25,000 miles on it. We have had to sue the dealership for the balance we had to pay due to the breach of the service contract. As a result, we have been paying $260/mo five months, the court date is not for another 3 months and we STILL dont have the car back. VW sucks, the warranty sucks, and the service contract sucks. The Customer Care guy (Douglas **) was nice enough though -- Im sure hes just following orders -- not his fault VW corporation cheats its customers on the warranty and the service contract (while still taking our lease payments at $260/mo).

My residual value at the end of lease was $21,218.60. I extended my lease six more months... and made 6 more automatic payments of $476. This reduced my residual value to $18,374.28 + tax. After I requested a payoff amount and mail the payment check... VW posted a lease rebate charge of $467.12 to my account. Now they have issued a letter reading that there is a short amount that needs to be paid to satisfy the contract.

I purchased a brand-new model of 2016 VW Golf GTI last year. I havent driven it much, which only has less than 4000 miles on it now. Recently, I had a flat tire due to the poor quality of Hankook tire (made in Korea) used by VW manufacturer. My flat tire happened when I was driving on a freeway (in very good condition) when the passenger side front tire suddenly burst a hole in its sidewall with no road hazard present. I called VW local dealership but was told to contact Hankook (the tire maker) directly by myself.Hankook did not follow the companys established procedure for handling tire warranty, but rushed to an arbitrary judgement on tire damage in its own favor, insisting on saying it was caused by road hazard. It never allowed the local VW dealership to fill out a tire warranty coverage claim form on my behalf. I paid $200+ out of my own pocket for tire replacement. I deeply regret that VW chose Hankook over other better tire brands. Hankook tires poor quality makes VW vehicles prone to road accidents. It also makes VW look cheap. For these reasons, I would strongly advise fellow motorists not to consider VW Golf GTI among their purchasing options.

Having a look at the reviews, I feel a little bit better as the company is just terrible in general, I thought it was just my luck and I was dealing with wrong service managers but seems like everyone is having the SAME! issue. What a mistake I made trusting Volkswagen, my car has been with them over a week coming to two weeks to diagnose an issue which they did after a week. Repairs were then done, I was then advised it could actually be something else and now another cost is adding, then they said I might even need a new Engine, my oh my.My other frustration is that the service manager who I called after being told they will call when they didnt had no clue of the situation and advised she was handed the case a day ago when the complaint was sent few days ago via web chat. I REGRET using them. I could of taken my car to a local garage who will be cheaper and diagnose the actual issue without trying to rob your money, I WILL NEVER EVER USE YOU AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE! WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE FACED!

2008 VW Passat 2.0T burns lots of oil.I purchased my 2008 VW Passat 2.0T on 5/2/11. I had oil change on 7/15/11 and was over 2 quarts low. I contacted my dealership since this car had less than 50,000 miles, why is its 100% synthetic oil breaking down like this since I obviously have a leak. The dealership said to check oil every 1000 and call back at next oil change; burnt/slipped around rings 2 quarts of oil. The dealership doesnt want to do oil consumption test because its within manufacturer acceptable limitations. Any oil consumption that requires I carry oil with me in my vehicle represents a real problem. This takes my $100 regular oil changes to $130. And nobody thinks this should be disclosed to the consumer prior to making a purchase decision? I did the research before I purchased and I didnt even dream of looking up this subject. I researched electrical malfunctions, engine life, performance, etc. This was never mentioned by the dealership, and now isnt their issue.

Receiving my final invoice from VW credit for 4,888. This was a lease return that I thought was factored into the deal. Guess what, it was not. I am writing this as I just received my final invoice coming off a lease. Well guess what, I owe 4,888 dollars. This was back from May of 2018. At the time I gave Lakeland VW 5 stars. Matter of fact went and purchased 2 more VW as I was so happy. Well stupid me I should have asked more questions before signing any paperwork. Of course they took my trade/lease and gave me 1,000 dollars to make up for the remaining 6 lease payments. At the time this seemed weird but they told me not to worry about it, You will get your final invoice showing the remaining lease payments, take the money we send you and pay your final invoice from VW credit. What they didnt tell me is that you will also have to pay for high mileage, dents, dings and any excessive wear and tear. Well this just cost me an additional 3,888 dollars. Stupid me (because I have never leased). All they did was take and send it back to VW credit. I thought this was being treated as a normal trade in and any excessive wear and tear was factored into the deal. NOPE just the opposite. One would think they would have fully disclosed this prior to me signing the deal. Had I would have known I would have just kept the car until the lease ran out and just purchased it out right, which I had planned to do anyways. I have spoke to VW Corp and VW credit and of course there is nothing that can do, this lies with the dealership. I am warning you, if your coming off a lease be very careful and ask 1,000 of questions before signing your name. 7 months later you will get the same invoice as I did. Cost me an additional 3,888 bucks. Stupid me, go somewhere else that will have full disclosure since this is not your day job and youre trusting others with your money or at least trusting others to fully disclose your huge purchase. I would like the dealership to honor paying the additional 3,600 dollars that should have been factored into the deal.

Volkswagen Taiguan 2016 with push button start will drain the battery to zero by itself. I turned off the car by pushing the button and left the car parked in the daylight. At night the car automatically turned on the headlights and drained the battery. I was stranded the next morning and had to call roadside assist. This is the most stupid thing on the car. With only 175 miles I had to call assistance because the car turned on its own lights while parked. The tow truck driver said I was the fifth Taiguan he had jump started because of this problem. VW needs to correct this. If the driver touches the kill button twice, or bumps it while getting out of the car the ignition will go on after the engine is shut off and will eventually turn the lights on leaving you stranded. Never use Auto Lights on this car.

One of the speaker lights didnt work, the manual seat sinks after a few hours, and the A/C button doesnt work properly. So far I have had to make that round trip 4 times and they still have not fixed the issues other than the speaker light. I dont have time or patience anymore to take many days off for nothing. Volkswagen cc - I had started a 3 year lease in 2010. I did everything I was told to do and the car was serviced in a diligent and timely manner. Midway through the lease while driving with my 2 young kids the car stalled and would not restart. It was a horrible experience. The diagnosis was carbon emissions in the fuel exhaust mechanism or something like that. Ive since lost the records but Im sure VW has them as I submitted everything. They denied any responsibility and I incurred over 1200$ worth of damage and repairs. They stated that it was a part of normal service. This always smelled bad to me and I finally decided to throw my hat into the ring today only to find out that the cc is not covered. Needless to say Im very disappointed. My fiancee leased upon my recommendation in 2013 a VW CC. We decided to return it 2 months before the lease ended. The mileage on the car was 35% lower than what the lease contract specified, as it was only used half a year (snow birds in Florida). The car had absolutely no visible wear and tear, neither the body nor the inside. Upon delivery of the car we never ever got a call from the dealer asking why we were returning it. Neither did we get any comments about the returned car. Neither were we asked to have it surveyed. 2 weeks after delivery we get a statement from VW asking for over $400.00 for deep scratches on the hood, the outside mirrors, the bumper. I call VW-credit and raise my objection. The answer: We do not care what your arguments are. We had it surveyed by SGS and they assessed the damages!! I dont know which car they assessed but certainly not the one which we returned. I asked, why were we not informed about these damages nor were we supplied the SGS-inspection report. The answer from the incredibly rude VW-Credit employee: Its not our business to supply you with a report from the surveyor nor is it our job to inform you of the damage!!!I argued that the dealer should have informed us if they had independently found any damage. The answer from VW Credit Then go and complain to them. We have nothing to do with the dealer. We recommend you pay as promptly or we will take action against you, which wont be good for you. We complained to the sales Manager at VW in Naples Florida, where we leased the car. The reply from the manager: We have nothing to do with this. If you have complaints then address them to VW Credit!!Called back VW-Credit. The bottom line answer: Report the damages to your insurance company. I replied, NO, I am not committing insurance fraud for you to cash money because that is exactly what you are asking me to do. I repeated that the car had absolutely zero scratches nor damages. What was the reply from VW-Credit: We have no time for people like you. Phone hung up!We have leased the following brands in the past 10 years: Lexus, Kia, BMW. Have we EVER encountered any problems returning the cars? Never ever! Quite the contrary, we received letters thanking us for the business and inviting us to visit our dealer of trust so that he could help us choose a new vehicle. One fact is sure: NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL WE LEASE OR PURCHASE A VW!! If you have one under a lease contract, BEWARE WHEN YOU RETURN IT. We all know that VW needs to make up for the losses incurred due to the fraud committed with the emission scandal. Defrauding customers even more to get money from their pockets at the end of a lease is certainly a good way to reaffirm the company moral.

Bought a 2017 Passat SE with tech and after 9 months began to have safety sensor problems, blind spot, forward collision and parking. Took to the dealer several times to be told it was non existent or normal. Got VWoA INVOLVED AND THEY WERE HARDLY ANY HELP. Finally after I was given a loaner with the airbag hanging from the steering wheel I was offered a trade in assistance. Traded into a 2018 Tiguan SE and have had nothing but issues since day 1, car net never worked, blind spot was faulty, transmission issues, engine power failure. Now my new car had been taken apart and been out of service 32 days in total and only has 8k miles on it, not to mention damaged from the dealer. VWoA denied my claim for buyback and now I am having to deal with lawyers to get it resolved. They really need to get their crap together and vet their dealerships employees and their representatives. Being told error codes are normal, cylinder 3 misfires are caused by bad gas, transmission hesitation/engine power loss isnt a major concern and blind spot detection, which is a safety feature, malfunctioning is no concern that it should not be relied on is unacceptable, not to mention when they hooked a scan tool to my car it shows my car has 2k more miles on it than my odometer states. Will never purchase another VW. BUYER BEWARE.

2010 VW CC 70k miles, in 10 months, has gone through 2 water pumps, an intake manifold, fuel pump control module (failed driving down the road, started to overheat and it sits on top of the fuel tank... fire waiting to happen?), coolant line cracked open and leaked, 3 oil leaks, new spark plugs at 40000 miles because one failed, new ignition coils as one started misfiring, windshield washer fluid pump has stopped working, the driver side window now goes down by itself (Ive had to unplug the buttons to keep my window closed), and now Im experiencing random power loss... Total cost so far in 10 months? $6,000!!!Oh and with VW direct injection, my valves were caked in carbon at 50,000 miles. I have had all kinds of things to go wrong. My VR6 CC runs great but the engine light will come on and I take it to the Volkswagen dealership. Every time they tell me that a sensor has gone bad it cost me around $400 dollars every time. I have had 2 fuel sensor replaced. Now I find out that I have been over filling my tank making the service light to come on. Now I stop putting extra fuel in and the service light went off. Now my brake light is on. I called the service department and they told me that it is probably a sensor. I also have a turning light on. I replaced the light but it still does not work. I was told I would have to hook it up to the computer to find out why it is not working. When I first purchased the car I had 2 front wheel bearings to go out under 36k miles. The dealership told me that it was not the wheel bearings. At 40k they check it out and told me that it was bad wheel bearing. This was after the warranty ran out. The wheel bearings were $250 each and labor was $250 each. I finally got them to cover the parts but I was responsible for the labor. If they would have fixed the problem when I told them it would have all been covered. It seems every time I get a call or get the oil changed a light comes on. I have always wondered if they have a way to turn lights on. I also had to change out the wiring harness for the trunk at 50k and it was over $500.

If a car is out of warranty by less than 30 days, is there a channel to go through that promotes good will between the customer and VW? If a goodwill gesture is not possible, I have a question regarding the number of defects required for a recall? When a part failure occurs out of warranty, what recourse does your customer have? How does one go through the appropriate channels to ensure the customers complaint is followed up on? Therefore the units that have required similar repairs to this point may not indicate that there is an issues and could theoretically could be viewed as statistically insignificant. A few things to consider, this is the only car that the headlamp assembly was manufactured for. It is not a common part that can be found on either the 2007 or the 2009 VW City Jetta, nor on the regular Jetta that was sold anywhere else around the world. Thus limiting the amount of data on the headlight assembly itself. The car in question has approximately 80,000 Kms on it. This indicates there was not an above average amount of use. Additionally, it has not been in a car accident and all parts are original equipment, including the bulb which was installed by VW of Windsor. The connecting wires between the head lamp and the socket melted, as stated by the VW of Windsor technician. I do not believe that this should occur under normal wear and tear on a car. The two VWs that I owned previously did not have this issue, nor was it encountered on any other vehicle that I have owned.Lastly, this part is not readily available to the public, because it was not used in any other vehicle. This makes the repair approximately $900. I have tried to find the part through other means and other repair facilities and was unsuccessful, because the part is so rare. If someone could please give me a call back to discuss my concerns it would be greatly appreciated.

My VW Tiguan has been having some issues related to carbon build up, all cylinders misfired when cold and rough idle. Talking to one of the reps, told me that this issue was covered under my warranty and was a lie. Took the car this morning and now they want to charge me $900+ for an issue many people have complained about and no recalls have been made yet. I have found VW reputation to be a total **, don’t care about their customer at all, but money is all they want. I want to thank VW to open my eyes and look elsewhere and spend my money on products that back up their customers.

I have a 2009 EOS - never again. While I like the car, especially the convertible top and driving experience, it has been multiple mechanical failures, some covered under recalls, others out of my pocket. I have had the injectors and ABS module replaced under recalls, and paid $2200 for a rear main seal (part $25 - the rest labor) caused by the engine oil pump malfunctioning and blowing the seal. When I got the car back after the ABS recall, it went into limp mode (stuck in second gear) and I returned to the dealership. Code on transmission says it has faulted 36 times - no dates - but this was the first indication it had a problem - no check engine light ever.Volkswagen says Sorry - out of warranty with no recognition of 36 previous faults, nor that problem appeared after testing for the recall on ABS module. Coincidence? They claim no. Right. Dealer tells me replacement is $5k-$6k, which is KBB value on sale to private party. Done with VW - working my way out of the two I have now. Know this: If the company hasnt been forced to do a recall on a problem, they will expect owner to pay. Doesnt seem like much has changed ever since US buyers have been lied to about the diesel fiasco.

I took my Passat to a VW Certified dealership and was never contacted with an estimate or completion date. It’s been there for over 6 months and I still don’t have my car. I have been in contact with customer care and they have been completely useless. It takes them at least a week to respond to their own email requests. I can not recommend any certified VW mechanic nor can I recommend VW as a company since their customer care is so abysmal.

Leased a vw cc for 36 months. Great price, good car. Tried to return it, vw leasing contracted independent evaluator to inspect the car. Tried for 10 days to get them on phone. Tried to go on their website. Malfunctioning. Frustrated, called the dealer where I bought it, they said bring it to them. I was penalized 400.00 for not buying another vw, even though they raised the price 8k on the same car no improvements, ridiculous!!! Then assessed another 400 for excessive wear. I refused to pay vw credit. They threatened to turn me into a collection agency which would ruin my credit. Funny thing is I had a body shop touch up the entire car before returning, I inspected it. Had Michelins on it in good shape. Read their lease before you sign, I will never buy a VW again.

On November 18, 2018, I’ve purchased a new 2018 VW Golf R. This car is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake System (EPB) and an Auto Hold system which self engages the EPB when you torn off the engine. On January 23, 2019, I’ve parked the car on the driveway in front of my house. The EPB has self engaged as usual. The yellow indicator light on the EPB lever went on, as well as the red PARK indicator on the instrument cluster display. I’ve got out of the car but didn’t lock it since I was planning to return in two minutes. While I was walking up the stairs towards my house, my wife just left the house and was walking towards me. Suddenly she yelled: the car! I turned around and saw my brand-new VW moving forward, and crashing into the fence. As a loyal customer of VW (this is my third one!) I thought that they will take responsibility and cover the cost of the repair which is almost $1,000, but apparently, VW doesn’t care about their customers at all. After many phone calls and email correspondence with the dealership and VW of America, I was told that since they couldn’t find any evidence for a manufacture shortcoming then this is on me. I don’t know what kind of evidence exactly they were looking for, I just know for a fact that the car was on Park and then it rolled over and crashed into the fence. So now I’m stuck with a slightly damaged car which has a serious safety issue, and VW isn’t willing to take responsibility. Needless to say that this is the last time I buy this brand. For shame VW, for shame. A quick google search brought up that this isn’t the first time that VW vehicles have such a problem with the EPB. Please take a look at the following links: **. One guy even broke his ribs because of an EPB failure. Does a terrible accident with casualties must occur for VW to take responsibility and do something about this?

We purchased a new VW Tiguan late last year from Flow VW. This has been a very disappointing experience. The car was delivered dirty and has had 2 recalls that took 6 months to fix. One was interior lights and the other was a washer fluid issue. Both are now fixed but while all of this is going on we find out at 19K miles we have to replace tires due to cupping. We only found this out after they rotated the tires. It was so bad that you could feel it in the brakes and it sounded like a wheel bearing was out. I was told by a manager to call VW as this was the only way to get attention to this problem. I was also told this was probably a issues from the factory. In my call to VW they stated that they don’t make the tires and therefore can’t warranty them. Pretty sad I was pretty sure the car has a VW emblem on it and not the tire brand. I’m a big Toyota / Lexus guy so this was a big risk I took buying a VW. If youre considering buying a VW do your homework in researching I sure wished I would have.

I just returned the vehicle last week and I received a bill for $567 for wear and tear. I just called them and tried to find a better way to pay because thats too much for me to pay but the person I talked to was super rude with me and did nothing about that. I recommend never deal with VW. They have shifty customer service. Im really pissed off cause all VW dealers working hard to get new customers after big lawsuit they had but the people working in VW credit financial are so rude and unorganized and losing customers easy for their behavior.

I was recently involved in an accident where I was rear ended on a major highway. I was shocked at how little damage was down to my vehicle and how well it absorbed the impact. My initial thinking was that my vehicle was destroyed but it wasnt and I was able to drive my wagon into the town where there was a collision center. The total damage and cost was far less than I expected. I am so glad I took a chance and bought this vehicle. Kudos to Volkswagen and their team that designed the safety features and overall look and feel of this vehicle.

This is the second brand new VW GTI I have purchased. The first one I bought in 2012 had its fair share of issues but everything was covered under warranty and getting the car repaired was mildly painless (could not get rental/loaner car while repairs were made). Despite my better judgment on the reliability issues concerning the first VW I purchased I went ahead and purchased the more expensive (automatic DSG) version of the GTI for 2015. I have had numerous issues with the car including mechanical failures, cosmetic failures, and water leaking into my vehicle right through both of the rear doors. I cannot be relieved of my issues and the manufacturer (Volkswagen) will do nothing to help me (The consumer). It is surprising to me especially after the whole VW Diesel thing that VW will not even try to reach out to help the existing customer base they have left here. Needless to say I will be trading my car in (doors still leak after four or five attempts to repair to no avail). I will never be buying a Volkswagen again or recommending one to anyone I know. The second dealer I had attempt to repair my doors actually damaged both of my rear doors in the process and scratched my vehicle. If youre considering buying a VW then DONT. I honestly would recommend them despite the problems I had IF the customer service wasnt so poor. I am truly disappointed with my purchase and will think about this mistake I have made for years to come. The image I have included is the water leaking into my rear door. (This cannot be corrected despite the numerous attempts from two different authorized VW dealerships) Mind you this is nearly a brand new car with less than 16000 miles.

I bought Tiguan model 2012 from the dealer in Abu Dhabi. I am the only driver, and exactly after the 3 years warranty expired, I started experiencing major problem with the car. For example: leaking coolant pump, boot cracked, noisy bush cracked, stuck defect, and more. I have just replaced the roof cetane (damaged with no obvious reason) and cost me almost 1000$. And last year there was oil leakage which required costly replacement. I would like to know why this is happening to a new car. Never happened to me before with other make. Please do respond to my concern.

I have a 2013 VW Hybrid which now needs it THIRD transmission. (1st 2 transmission @ 60+K) I contacted the Regional Manager, Jake ** who stated that all they “VW” can do for me is lower the price from 7100. to 6400. As per Jake ** his supervisor Sharon ** stands behind that decision. VW put a BAD product on the market and refuse to be an Honorable Co. and take responsibility for fixing the transmission. The CEO Hinrich J. Woebcken needs to be made aware that this is unethical. VW was a huge disappointment, totally ruined by perception of the company and the product.

I noticed my 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan Headliner was coming apart from the sunglass compartment. The next morning it had separated from the light. I drove my car to the Lundes dealer in Peoria. The serviceman gave me the number to Volkswagen customer service. I spoke to Dylan, who told me they only warranty the item for 3 years/36 thousand miles. I was so upset. I asked to talk to his supervisor, who on a Friday was not around. I received a call from Stephanie this morning, restating my concerns of the failing headliner. I asked if she wanted pictures to help VW figure out why they have failing glue. She just repeated what the script reader had to say. I then asked to talk to her manager. I havent heard from them. I cannot believe a car this age has a headliner falling down. I would be ashamed if I was Volkswagen. This is not a wear and tear item. This should not be happening. Thanks Volkswagen for the disappointment.

I purchased a 2013 Volkswagen Passat in February 2013 which just turned three years old. I have had several recalls and none have become available. The warranty on this vehicle has just run out and I am having some of the same problems with the brakes while the car was under warranty. I am also having issues with the door locks. Whenever I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, the doors lock each time. I can hear the clicking. I took the vehicle into Napletons which is located in Champaign, and I was told that it would cost me $457.00. Of course I was upset. I then asked for the contact information for Volkswagens Customer Care and I ended up getting a number online.I began this call 1 hours 12 minutes and 30 seconds ago. No one has picked up the call yet. I am not sure why I am having these issues after the warranty ended. I plan on writing a letter. Lets see how that turns out. I would say to you, if you choose to purchase one of these vehicles to ensure that everything is covered by having the service department at your dealership check it and document it. I have no intentions of paying Napletons $457 to repair a problem that they should fix for free. If I have to pay, I will take it to another dealership to get it repaired. I will definitely think again before I purchase another VW.

My 2006 VW Passat died on me at 87,000 miles about a week ago. After receiving the countless letters about the parts of my car that theyd be happy to service over the years because, oops! They realized theyre faulty, my car left me stranded about a week ago. The service people stated itd be 4-5 thousand dollars to repair. According to Kelly Blue Book thats about how much the car was worth 2 weeks ago when it ran. Every time I took this car in to be serviced, the VW technicians would present me with a list of the issues with the car, ranked in order of severity. Whereas most car techs are trying to swindle the customer out of money (historically), I actually believe the VW technicians were being honest: my VW ACTUALLY was riddled with problems that were no fault of my own, simply because these cars suck! The technician informed me that one matter in need of attention was the crack somewhere in the structural frame of the front of my car that could get progressively worse OR may just continue to exist but never cause a problem. How does a car that hasnt ever been in an accident suddenly crack? I never realized the internal frame of my VW was made of eggshell...My advice? Steer clear of VWs. Even my friends CC tells him Service Now! every time he starts his car, and it has less than 10,000 miles on it. Youll know quickly youve made a mistake when you received the letter about the engine coils that are bound to malfunction or whatever other part of your recently purchased vehicle will screw you over next... On a separate note... Anyone wanna buy a project? If you like restoring dead cars, the VW dealership in Cary said theyd give me $150 for it... top that and its sold! :)

Bought my VW CC in 2011. Everything was fine up until 2016. Started having issues with it. Just got it back 3 weeks ago. Had to have the timing chain fixed. That bill was $3200. Had to take it back 2xs after that to have the intake runner fixed along with the rear main seal because of oil leaking. Those two jobs cost me an additional $1000. Fast forward to today. Started having issues with the car not going into gear. Went back to the shop. Theres a problem with the driveshaft. Cost to fix... $3200-$5000. This is so unfair. Now I am either forced to fix it or purchase another car. Either way Im spending more money I truly dont have.
