Ram Troubleshooting

Ram Trucks, stylized as RAM and formerly known as the Ram Truck Division, is an American brand of light to mid-weight commercial vehicles, and a division of Stellantis. It was established in a spin-off from Dodge in 2010 using the name of the Ram Pickup line of trucks.

Automobile Troubleshooting

Flat Tire
Although it is common for a tire to deflate over time, most tires become flat after being punctured by an object such as a nail. Most punctures can be fixed with a tire repair kit or patch, but large punctures or slashes generally warrant a tire replacement. However, it’s also possible for simple wear and tear to be the main cause of a flat tire. To help extend the lifespan of your tires, be sure to keep them properly rotated. We recommend that you rotate your tires every 5,000 miles (or every time you get an engine oil change) to help prevent unnecessary tire wear and tear.

Broken Starter Motor
The starter motor is the device responsible for cranking your engine to initiate power. When the starting motor fails, it’s usually because the electrical solenoid has been damaged, the starter motor is simply broken, or another electrical fault occurs. Although a starter can be replaced before it breaks, it’s difficult to predict when this will happen. For that reason, if you begin to experience any symptoms of a bad starter like it sounds different than normal or is taking several cranks to start, we recommend having a mechanic inspect your car starter to help determine the problem before assuming the starter needs to be replaced.

Oil Warning Light is On
An oil warning light is one of the most serious car problems you’ll ever encounter. When the light (or oil icon) comes on, you should immediately pull over and shut off your engine. The low-pressure warning light can be mean you’ve got a bad oil pressure sensor, bum oil pump, or a significant engine wear problem. But it can also mean that you’ve simply run out of oil. You can check your oil level right there on the side of the road.

Overheating
You might suspect overheating to be higher on this list, but in reality, it occurs rarely. In most modern cars, the cooling system is very complex, containing multiple sensors that monitor coolant temperature, flow, and other components. Staying on top of radiator flush services and changing the water pump before it breaks are two easy ways to reduce the potential for overheating issues.

Fix a Squealing Belt
Of all the car problems you might encounter, a squealing belt is probably the most annoying. The high-pitched squeal is produced when the rubber belt loses its grip and slips around the pulleys. In rare cases, a worn slow-moving alternator, pump, or AC compressor bearing or component misalignment can cause a perfectly good belt to squeal. But in most cases, the belt slips because it’s worn, is loose, or has been contaminated with oil or coolant. You can diagnose all those problems yourself with a visual inspection, a belt wear gauge, and a spray water bottle.

Worn Brake Pads or Squeaky Brakes
If you ever hear a squeaking or high-pitched squealing sound coming from your brakes, it is likely that your brake pads are either dirty and need to be cleaned or worn down and need to be replaced. But don’t be alarmed, this is a pretty common car issue especially with older vehicles. The brake system is intended to wear out over time with use – some quicker than others depending on how often they are used. Given your vehicle’s brakes are vital to ensure you can safely stop, if you notice any symptoms of worn brake pads, like squealing, squeaking, or a soft brake pedal, you should have it inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible for brake repairs if needed.

Poor Fuel Economy
When the engine is running efficiently, it burns fuel at a rate that helps improve fuel economy. However, several fuel system parts like fuel filters, air filters, mass airflow sensors, and O2 sensors will eventually get dirty or wear out. If this happens before they are replaced, it will cause the engine to consume more fuel than usual. Again, being proactive about routine servicing provides the solution.

Dead Battery
Most car batteries should last about three years or 50,000 miles. A dead battery is usually caused by reduced amps – or electrical currents – which naturally decrease as the battery loses its ability to maintain a charge. A damaged alternator, battery temperature sensor, or other charging system components can expedite this issue. It’s best to replace your car battery every 50,000 miles or three years, even if it’s not showing signs of damage.

2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually: Front axle u-joints went out at 46000 miles. The vehicle is for highway use only, and its well-maintained. I believed this should not have been replaced until 100,000 miles. I have bought 5 new pick-ups in the last 10 years and will now start looking at other companies for a new pick-up due to this not being covered by Dodge. People at the dealership did not care.

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 8L V10 - Worn out front end completely (and professionally), replaced it in 2012 due to the alarmingly random wandering. The truck would never steer in a straight line and a turning involved a hard clunk ending in a wild direction change. $1200, couple of years and a few thousand kilometers later its the getting to be the same.

As an owner of a Dodge this is the first time I have been very disappointed with its make of the Dodge Ram. My truck is 13 Years old at about 97,000 miles and have a blown head gasket. I keep up with maintenance and always clean dont use it much or haul anything. Now this is very expensive to fix. Its like putting a down payment for a new car.

I have taken my truck into 2 different service departments and they have refused to fix the problems. I have been given every excuse in the book, My truck is full of gas, the truck needs new tires, and many more. Ive been told that everything is within the trucks specifications and as intended. But meanwhile, the trucks drivers seat no longer goes all the way back and up. The seat sits sideways and you feel a big depression in the bottom of the seat. The seat back was replaced and now it is twisted. Left side is further back than the right side. The seat actually adjusts while youre driving the truck and will not stay in its locked position. Suspension no longer goes all the way up and it now lowers to where the suspension binds itself while driving or parked by itself.

2014 Dodge Ram 3/4 Ton Diesel Laramie - The day I brought the truck home It showed a problem with the tire sensors. I called the dealer to make appointment asap and since then it has been in 3 times for the same problem this time now they have had it for seven days and still nothing! I do believe the dealer is trying but Chrysler is not interested or really not into customer service. The only answer I get is Chrysler engineering is working on it (BS). This is the first Dodge I have ever owned and will most likely be the last. I have always bought Ford Trucks but all my friends had Dodges and talked very highly of them so thought I would try - bad mistake. Call me if you want more details.

I own a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually truck, and it has 64,900 miles on it. I took it to an authorized factory warranty service center for mopar. They have told me that I need either a rebuild or new transmission. I opted to get the new transmission from Chrysler/Mopar. I sent an email to Chrysler.com. I explained that I have less that 65,000 miles on the truck and that I had to pay $4,000. I received a call from Sabrina; she said that my truck was still under warranty, and she would investigate.Chrysler will not pay for my transmission since I did not go to an authorized Chrysler service center, and they did not do the work. I explained that the transmission alone is under warranty, and it is a Mopar part. The service center I took it to is an authorized factory warranty service center for Mopar. Sabrina said that since Chryler did not do the diagnostic or service on it, they cant reimburse me. I have explained that I am asking for a reimbursement for the transmission and not for the labor, installation or diagnostic.

My 2018 Ram Power Wagon has 56,000 miles already, and has not had any issues. While I have driven all Japanese in the past, Jeep and Ram are paying attention to the real customers and making far more interesting products. This makes it hard to compromise and buy a lesser vehicle. Having the most off road capable full size truck in the world is fantastic. The lsd rear diff is perfect for roads. Lock both diffs and disconnect sway bar and good luck getting stuck. The winch, way more handy then you think. The de-rated towing capacity is absurd, and it will squat less and handle more than most heavy duty trucks. The interior, and the small details the Japanese used to think about round out these trucks. Keep up the good work, and keep improving reliability and I will be back for another Power Wagon and a Gladiator to replace our Four Runner.

2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4.5.9 Cummins, AT - I bought my 2005 in 2005 with 44,000 miles on it from a dealer In Victorville Ca. The first owner bought, sold trailers out of state and used the heck out of this towing for 11 months. It was in good shape so, I own it now. Price reflected the high miles. It has just over 108,000 on it now. I tow a 10,000 toy hauler with it, some times up high in the mountains. Not towing Hwy 18.6mpg at 65mph/16.5 at 75mph. Towing 14.5 at 65mph. Do not drive 75mph with that trailer. 1800 RPM is sweet spot for torque to fuel mileage. The brakes and BF Goodrich tires were replaced at 44,000 mile purchase date. I just put my first tires on it at 108,000. Brakes in front are almost ready to be replaced as well as the upper and lower ball joints (Darn heavy Cummins). I have serviced the engine every 3,000 miles. Serviced cooling system and gear boxes at 90,000 miles. Automatic trans at 75,000 miles. I run Lucas fuel additive to help out with the occasional bad diesel I seem to get. I have been very happy with this purchase. No interior or exterior problems. This truck is not as fast or powerful as the new ones, but God bless it. It will do anything I need. I had a 2001 with the Cummins w/ 5 spd manual. I loved that truck. Before that a 1997 with the V-10. My friend is still driving it with I do not know how many miles on it. Just saying: I have had either good luck or been blessed. I am going to purchase a 2005 Rumble Bee tomorrow. Yellow and Hemi YeeHaw. Got to have something sporty for a change. No, the above rated truck is not for sale.

Purchased a 2007 2500 Dodge 5.9 SLT new. Have had very few problems with the truck except AC compressor which began overheating and would not cool. Had to the dealer several times before they finally replaced it. More recently in late August 2015 the Shift Cable broke. Had it towed to the dealer. After 4 or 5 days they checked and agreed it was broken. When asked when it would be repaired I was advised that the part was on back order (over 800) and would not be available until 14 November 2015. Very irritated I accepted the fact that I would not have my truck for a while. I check often for updates and recently told that it would be 9 December 2015 before part would be available.Irritated by the delays I contacted Dodge Customer Service and lodged my complaint. The customer service rep called four days later, apologetic, and advised that the part would not be available until late January 2016 or early February 2016. Dodge has a parts supplier problem since contractors provide them to Dodge. My complaint with this is bad suppliers and bad management. If in August there were already over 800 on back order what is the problem. This is obviously not an aftermarket part or they would be available.

I received a recall notice on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 for a seal that was defective. If it was repaired they said they would pay for the repair. I supplied them with all the receipts of the repairs. The total was almost $2,400. The representative calls me and tells me they are not going to pay the claim since the credit card used was not the name of the vehicle owner. It was my father-in-laws card since I did not have the money at the time to pay for the repair. So Dodge agreed it was defective but uses some lame loophole that since it wasnt on MY credit card, they would not pay. I suggested they just pay the cardholder then. Of course they denied that as well. So basically they admit they were liable for the repair but found a way out of paying for it.

We bought this truck with 4000 miles on it. A demo wrecker. Big, strong, able to handle what we could throw at it. Unfortunately, have had nothing but an issue out of the def system. Hard to keep a wrecker on the road when it keeps flashing the shut down and will not restart in 200 miles message. Finally my husband found the problem. Def fluid crystallizes when air hits it, and each time you add def fluid a small amt of air hits the fluid, so guess what happens. Right. Some of those crystals get in the system, stop up the injector. If you dont believe, check the funnel you use to add def fluid. Crystals you will find. Still has SES light for the system, but at least its not shutting down now. Just a bit disappointed in the product dodge advertised as the truck built especially for the wrecker industry. Wake up Dodge. Wheres your pride in your products? The amt I gave for this truck should make it trouble free for a long, long time.

We have taken our 2015 Ram 3500 Tradesman diesel numerous times to three different dealers to try and find the source of diesel exhaust coming into the cab through the air ducts especially when the heater is on because the air does not recycle. It makes our entire family sick. We are being poisoned by diesel exhaust. Ram claims that no one else has this problem which is obviously a lie. It sounds like Thaddeus of S. Atoms River, NJ has the same problem. We also drove the identical vehicle on the lot and it had the same smell. This is a serious health issue and Ram needs to address it immediately before someone who doesnt have the same sensitivity to smells dies of diesel exhaust poisoning. Look it up on the internet. It is serious. It can cause chest pains up to two days later. Immediate issues include headache, nausea, throat and eye irritation. Please call Dodge Ram and complain if you have a similar problem. Dont let your dealer blow you off. This is serious.

Warranty Service: My 2011 Dodge Truck (VIN **) was taken to Crown Dodge, initially, for a shimmy at 70MPH (on cruise control). The problem was noticed when I decreased my average speed from 75MPH to 70MPH to save gas. The problem exists when ascending/descending long hill. The truck was taken to Crown Dodge 4 times; each time, something was done to correct the fault. However, after being told it was fixed, I drove it home on the I-44 turnpike, and the situation each time was the same. The final analysis was that it is the nature of the beast - that engine has such torque. A local independent repair facility assured me it was not the U-Joints. I took the truck to Central Oklahoma Dodge yesterday and gave the information above. Today, they tell me (Mark) that they cannot duplicate the problem. He (Mark) is going to take the truck on the freeway tomorrow to try to duplicate the problem. My question is, what if he duplicates the problem? Then what? If it is the nature of the beast, nothing can be done. I am unable/unwilling to drive a vehicle with a known problem. I converted to Dodge from Chevy/Ford at the suggestion of my close friend. This is my second Dodge. Please advise soonest. (I am unable to talk on the phone due to Cochlear implant. If you need me to call you, I have to use my CapTel phone.) Thank you.

Diesel engine blown out at 65K. Bought the DODGE RAM 1500 brand new in 2016. Thought the Diesel engine would give us great long-term service - after all we have Dodge trucks as old as 2003 on the road for our contracting company. We do NOT do heavy loads nor towing, they are Quad cabs basically light hauling & crew taxi. Regular service and only 1 previous issue with mass air sensor $800 of that at dealership. The other morning, truck started normal, drive 5 miles to fuel up. Tried to start after fueling, big noise and that was it. Engine blown. Now waiting 6 days to see what they are going to do. 35,000 miles left on factory warranty and they are leaving us with no truck and guessing...

I have owned 3 2001 Dodge Ram quad cabs. I purchased the 3 red one due to an accident in the 2nd one which totalled my truck. It saved my life. However, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the dashes cracking and Dodges refusal to do a recall. I guess they wont because they would be recalling everyone still operable which would be extremely costly. The dash on the totalled one was completely caved in when I purchased it in 2006. I had to buy a dash mat. The 3rd truck which I still own was just starting to crack in 2010 at the time of purchase. I believe the mat has helped it last longer. It continues to crack.I think they could offer owners a monetary settlement which might satisfy their gross manufacturing negligence and the owners having to deal with it on a daily basis. I have other issues with my current truck but believe they are from normal use and factors not necessarily related to Dodges negligence. Overall it is a well built safe vehicle.

I purchased my 2014 Ram Express 1500 quad cab 2WD exactly 1 year ago today. I had bad experience with the HERITAGE DODGE DEALERSHIP, Parkville, MD - MILEONE AUTO GROUP. My truck had a recall due to a software update (compass supposed to be moved from my Uconnect 5 to the D.I.C. screen) - that was 2 radios & 2 attempts to fix the problem, still no compass at all in truck. While truck was in shop, the express lane manager said they would do a tire rotation. Well I marked all tires, all they did was switch the 2 front tires to either side. But as the MANUAL STATES: IN ORDER TO DO A CORRECT TIRE ROTATION IS BACK TO FRONT, FRONT TO BACK - NOT RIGHT TIRE TO LEFT & VICE VERSA.The payload capacity of this 2WD 1500 is claimed to be 1900 lbs.+ in the bed of the truck. Now here is the kicker, I load my 2013 Yamaha Grizzly 700 in the bed & my bed squats down 5 (5 inches) - my Yamaha Grizzly only weighs 686 lbs. with fluids. Currently this $35k truck with only 12k miles & 1-year old KBB is $21k trade-in value. The design of the coil spring, rear springs is great when empty; handles nice & smooth. Add 200 lbs. & go over a speed bump carefully & you will feel the sag/plush/too soft springs bounce you 2-3 times. Add the 686 lbs. & gently go over same speed bump - bump stops, actually hit the axle. Now I have to go & purchase HD coil springs or purchase AIRLIFT ULTIMATE 5000 AIR BAGS SO I CAN NOT ONLY HAUL my 1 quad, but also my 10 x 6.5 open trailer with my wifes sportsman 500 HO Polaris too. For a truck (not really a truck, when you cant haul anything over 200 lbs.) its pretty quick. With the 5.7 Hemi, MPG is 20-23 MPG hwy.

Vehicle dangerously cut out pulling out onto the highway/road. Took it to the same dealership 3 times and they couldnt figure it out (I checked the transmission fluid and it was a full quart low). The computer went completely crazy making every single gauge go crazy, and warning light flash continuously. She drove it straight back to the dealer and it wouldnt start again. They had to give her a loaner car and couldnt get their diagnostic machine to even talk to it. Out of the blue it magically works again a day or two later, but since no code was thrown they didnt fix anything.Engine is now knocking like crazy on acceleration (taken it to the dealership 4 times) and the same dealership says its not a problem and that if I throw a rod out of the bottom of the engine while on vacation, warranty will cover it. This is a brand new 67 thousand dollar truck... and all of this has happened in the first 5000 miles. I have been a Mopar fan for a long time (that is all that I own). I needed new brakes on the front end of my 2007 Ram 1500, 4x4 four door pick-up ( the originals finally wore out). I usually do all of my own maintenance work on my vehicles, so I purchased new rotors, brake pads and small parts kit at my local parts supplier. Once I got into the job, I discovered that my new pads were much larger than the ones on my truck. Thinking that the counter man had made a mistake, I checked online to see what the correct part number was. The counter man had given me the correct part, apparently the factory had installed the brakes for a two door truck on my four door truck. These brake pads are significantly smaller than what should have been installed. I feel, that as a result, my safety has been compromised. My truck is equipped with a hemi which has had several power adders installed, and I occasionally tow a trailer with it. With these smaller brakes, I no longer feel as safe as I did, I wonder how many times in the past my brakes were ready to fade, and I was unaware. I am just reporting this to alert other owners to be aware that they might have the same condition as me. I feel that Chrysler did me a disservice and showed a certain lack of regard for my safety, and the safety of those that I share the road with. I am now in the process of researching which parts are the correct parts for my truck so that I may replace them for my peace of mind. The truck is my baby, so I wont consider getting rid of it. I still like Mopar, and their styling, but I am extremely disappointed in them. As of this writing, there have been no consequences, but I will be changing My Front end parts till I can have the bigger safer brakes.

Love Dodge Ram. Love the color and the height. Really Tall. Bigger than most vehicles on the road. The dogs and the children love it as well. I also have to fight my husband to drive it day to day. May get another one of the Rams when it is time to upgrade. A newer one would have been great. There seems to be more of them just like mine on the road no matter where I go. Also, wish I would have bought it in black. Think my daughter will try to take it from me. I also dont like the Interior. The interior should be black. Lacks upgraded equipment as well. Would like a better stereo. Lastly, hard to read the speedometer during the day.

Love the powerful engine, but not worth the headaches. Tons of recalls... 3 in the last week!!! Brought truck in for its first tire rotation and the mechanic asked if I had been in an accident as the entire truck bed is nearly 2” out of alignment (shifted to the left) with the front cab! Radio, navigation system, AND hands-free phone system all started to glitch at 48, 000 miles. Would cost over $700 to replace. The body looks beautiful, but dents much easier than ANY of my trucks... I’ve owned GMC and FORD prior to purchasing my RAM. Very frustrated with all the service issues and not having a navigation system that was quite pricey!

I took my truck that is a little over a year old in to have the DEF system checked and 2 recalls. We coordinated all of the issues with the dealer prior to arrival. They waited till I was about to pick up the truck to check on the DEF issue and they said they would call me in half an hour. I called 1 hour later and was told that the DEF wiring harness was shot and would not be going anywhere. Not to worry it will be in next Wednesday (this was a Friday). On Tuesday I decided to check and found that it might be Friday. At this point I contacted the Dodge national line and was told that it was definitely in on the following Wednesday. When I checked the following week, I was told that there we issues and it would now be in on the following Wednesday. When I checked 2 days later, I was told it would be Friday. I like my truck but to wait on a part for 21 days is unreasonable. I am not sure why their system is so broken, but based on their performance, I am not sure I could recommend a Dodge RAM. When you buy a truck like this you buy it because you need it. I haul my trailer to horse shows and do not have an option. I had to rent a truck to drive to a horse show and can only hope that Dodge covers it. They were trying to weasel out of paying for a tuck that is less than the truck that I purchased from them. The national representative has even stopped calling me back.

2020 Ram Longhorn seats are uncomfortable and painful. Beautiful truck however, it is undriveable due to the extremely poor seat design. The contour of the seat design hurts the legs and hips and was not thought out whatsoever, which destroys what would be a great truck. It is important to design a seat correctly to make your product driveable, what a complete disappointment and it is unfathomable how this could possibly pass testing. Ram needs to step up and rectify this issue immediately.

I have ordered a new 2013 Laramie Quad cab 4X4 1500 pickup. There was some confusion in determining what items were standard, etc. So after I ordered it, I wanted to build it on your Ram Trucks site to verify the options, etc. Your site just does not work and to this day, I cannot build the truck I ordered. I became so frustrated that I considered cancelling the order even if I lost my earnest money and purchase a Ford or Chevy. I cannot understand why any management group would allow a sales site to be online that is so terrible and basically does not work property. If I were a shareholder of Chrysler, I would show up at the annual meeting and see if I could get a reasonable response. I am sure as a repeating customer I have no influence.

We bought the truck in May of 2016. We have had Nothing But Problems! It is currently back in the shop to have the cams and lifters replaced on the side that didnt get replaced just a few months ago! We have had electrical problems, cruise control problems, sensor problems. Thankfully we paid the 3800.00 for the extended warranty! I would strongly suggest doing your homework prior to purchasing a Dodge Ram! I will definitely NOT purchase another one!

I have been a Dodge person for 50 years with both cars and trucks. I brought a 2012 Ram 2500 4wd diesel thinking it would compare to my 97 ram 3500, but it has not. From the start I started having problems and the truck has left me on the side of the road more than once. It start with front drive shaft going out. Manual says to grease the u-joints but the shaft has no inserices to put grease in, this was $500.00 dollars to fix. Next the transmission went out. This was 2.300.00 dollars. Next the front headlights stop working, this was $150.00. Now the hydro-brake-booster has gone out, the bolts that hold brake fluid to the booster (which two) both broke in middle of the bolts. This separated booster letting fluid out losing all brakes. I am still waiting on the part because it was a special order, and the air-conditioner valves in desk is starting to give problems.

I am 32 years old and have owned 3 Ram trucks. I bought all 3 as the second owner from a Dodge Dealership. I bought a 2012 Ram 2500 with the Hemi 18 months ago. It was over 100k miles but had only one owner who had all the maintenance completed at the dealership. It appeared to be a super clean truck. Within the first 6 months the solenoid went bad in the transmission. $500. Now I am facing a bad camshaft and poor lifters. $3500. I have had the truck less than 18 months and am dumping over $4,000 into this truck and that is just to get it back to normal. Ram of course only has the same junk camshaft and lifters to put back into the truck. They have not improved it or do not have any aftermarket parts to fix their poor design. Not to mention it took 3 weeks to get in because this part remains on back order. I had loved my other Ram trucks and was happy with this one before this problem occurred but I will never own another one and like I said I am only 32. I would urge anyone looking for a truck to choose another brand. I cringe when I see them saying longest lasting trucks on the road. Good luck and dont buy a junk Hemi. It is only as good as its parts.

Purchased 2019 RAM 3500 DRW Limited HD High Output Cummins with Aisin Transmission in April 2019 - one of the first deliveries of said truck. In August 2019 (approx 16k miles) Left Front Speed Sensor was replaced as it was throwing error messages - FCW system unavailable, service immediately; 4wd Temporarily unavailable, service immediately; Electronic Stabilization Control unavailable, service required; Trailer brake system service required; ABS service required.2 weeks later, same error messages, and ABS module was replaced. 2 weeks later, same error messages, dealership cleared codes and could not replicate. Went on 1600+ mile road trip. Returned home, 13 days after last visit to dealership, same error messages. As of today, dealership says cannot replicate - currently truck is on day 7 at dealership for 4th visit. Chrysler says maybe software update needed. ANYONE out there with challenges on 2019 RAM HDs? IMO, this is unacceptable. I just want it fixed.

We had no problems with our 2015 Dodge ECO DIESEL 1500 Longhorn truck, excellent fuel mileage, everything worked perfect, then when driving on the toll road at 60 mph truck was getting 32 mpg mileage 33,134 and we are not towing anything our ENGINE BLOWS, we had it towed to the nearest Dodge dealer, after removing the engine pan full of metal parts, Dodge would cover it under warranty. We traded it in on a Dodge 5.7 V/8 not happy with fuel mileage. However we feel we can trust this engine to last at least 65,000 miles.

I bought my Ram 1500 new in 2015 with every tow option available. During the summer months (May-Mid September) I tow a 3,500lb boat about every other weekend... this was the sole purpose for buying this truck. This August while towing the boat the transmission failed to downshift (with a loud BANG) twice, then we got a check engine light, and the transmission reached 280* before being able to get off the highway. The truck was towed to the nearest dealer. The dealership told me there was no overtemp history in the computer and replaced just the valve body and filter. Ever since the repair the transmission regularly runs hot (up to 237* while not towing, usually in the 220s) and does a sporadic slip-bang shift.I opened a case with Ram Cares and got it into another dealership, they couldnt reproduce the problem. The mechanic told me that Chrysler only allows them to replace the valve body or the entire transmission under warranty (if the fluid is burnt), but he felt there was a problem with the heat exchanger for the transmission. When I picked up the truck the service advisor told me (after seeing my many pictures of the trans temp gauge reading 220s and 230s) that even though he cant do anything under warranty right now he thought the transmission would most likely fail before the powertrain warranty expires. This is a problem as Ive already been stranded once while towing my boat. The Ram Cares rep said Chrysler stands by the dealership and my request for further diagnoses OR a warranty extension on the transmission has been denied... this to me means that Chrysler doesnt have confidence in the transmission... a warranty extension would only cost Chrysler money IF the transmission fails again.

After buying my Ecodiesel I noticed lights pecks on the fender. Don Jackson was very good about replacing the fender but could not get fender tight to the body. The service department said it all like that. But that no correct by knowing now. Then when I got my 1st service and asked about and said they can tight up better than that at Autonation at Victory drive Columbus. Again the technician did do better and the glue was left all over my vehicle. Also the service department had to drain my truck because it put in the wrong oil. To bring you up to date now it is 9 Nov. 2016, had to tow to Autonation Chrysler. The next day Autonation informed the engine failed and broke it down to take pics to send Chrysler. To get it a action to okay to order was 5 days and no rental was assigned to me. Autonation here on Lake parkway was not any help. Fast forward to Wednesday 16 Nov. the Customer service has given me a runaround. I have been asking for a rental pickup for my 60000 weight paper and I have no seen a solution. With number of problem I will be continue calling and get to someone in the corporate to listen and compensate for the damages. I would like to replace the vehicle that is not even a year old 17500 on it. Ram/Chrysler has lost all faith of Company.

1997 Dodge truck paint peeling off in mass - Lousy Dodge/Chrysler paint. Beware spending big bucks on a Dodge Ram or Chrysler product. The paint has peeled off the hood, top of the cab and almost every horizontal surface. It is also creeping down the sides. It is like a time bomb. It started about 4 years ago, like a timer went off. My last Dodge truck for sure. $2,500.00 to repaint. They have to strip it. I have friends with other brands of trucks with more miles and as old. They still have their paint.

Buyer beware of any newer, 2013+, Dodge with a Cummins Diesel and its emissions system. You will be constantly plagued with See Dealer, Service DEF System errors. When the trucks run they are great, but good luck keeping them running reliably. You can put good Blue DEF in 100% of the time, run them well to ensure they get a periodic regen, and still have endless issues. To top it off, they drop you into limp mode in no time at all, so good luck if youre on a long road trip; expect a huge tow bill. In all, stay away from any of these trucks that have DEF systems unless you wish to waste time and give away your money to a bottomless pit.

My experience terrible. Brought my new 2017 Ram 1500 in for wind noise issue coming in the doors. First dealer said it was my vent visors, still the same after they were removed. They had the truck for 5 days, said it was fixed and ready for pick up. So I took truck for ride, same issue as when it went in. Then the manager said he brought three trucks out and they all have the same wind noise. I told him then they should tell the buyer before they spend 60.000 for a truck that theyre buying a truck that is not very well sealed. Not impressed because I just traded in my 2013 with no wind noise whatsoever with 160.000 kms on it. Nobody wants to help. RAM JUNK, POOR QUALITY VEHICLE. Bumper to bumper warranty ya right. They write reviews that they are as quiet as a luxury car. Thats false advertisement.

On the 20th of June 2013, I took a trip to West Virginia for a family emerg
On the 20th of June 2013, I took a trip to West Virginia for a family emergency (597 miles one way). I fought my truck the entire way. Whenever I came up on a bridge with an expansion joint, I just held on for the ride and wait for the wobble to cease. My truck is a 2011 Ram 3500 DRW with the Cummins VIN # **. When I left, I had 12,200 miles on it. The truck now has 13,321 miles on it. This is also causing excessive wear on the front tires. When I left West Virginia to come home on the 23rd, my front tire pressure was 70 psi. I stopped at the halfway point at a rest area after experiencing a bad death wobble. I checked the front tire pressure. It was at 75 psi (higher due to heat). I dropped the air pressure down to 65 psi in hopes to ease the death wobble. Back on the road again, it seemed to help a little. The wobble was still there, but not as serious. After another hour or so on the road, the wobble came back, and I stopped again and checked tires. Front was at 68 psi. I dropped it down to 60 psi and started driving again. This time the pressure did not help the death wobble, and thank God for traffic in the city. I was forced to drive under 20 mph through the city.I made it to the Interstate 495 (LIE), started off in heavy traffic, moving about 20 mph. Traffic started clear around exit 35-36, then I hit a bump with the right front tire and all hell broke loose. I was doing 40 mph at this time. The truck front end started to violently shake and then the rear started to bounce. I was in the center lane when this happened with traffic on all sides. I applied the brakes and tried to steer to the right. The truck continued to go straight and then started to go sideways to the left. Once my speed dropped below 5 mph is when I regained control of my truck and then pulled off at exit 37. I turned around, got on the northbound side and stopped at a Gulf gas station and called roadside assistance. This is the 23rd of June, and 45 miles away from home. I hit a bump/pothole and the truck started shaking violently. The truck went sideways in the road. This time was the worst. I was sideways in the road, in heavy traffic on the Long Island Expressway. This incident was terrifying and almost caused a serious accident. Are they (Chrysler/Ram) waiting for someone to die?I called Chrysler Roadside Assistance and they would only tow my vehicle to one of their locations, not my dealer or my house. They named a few, and since I am not from this area, I choose the one they listed in Hempstead, NY because I knew where Hempstead was. The dealer was Garden City Jeep. On 24 June 2013, I called Garden City to check on my truck. They did not look at it today. On 25 June 2013, I called Garden City to check on my truck. Service rep said mechanic took truck for test drive and everything was okay. Service rep said they will look at the front end once their lift is available. I have been without my truck since the 23rd of June 2013. I called the dealer today and he made a comment that they do not normally work on heavy duty trucks but started reviewing the problem. He made the statement that When I bottomed out, I never said that... I said no, my truck had the Death Wobble, and explained to him that I never said that I bottomed out. It is going on day 4, still without truck, and now the dealer is talking about taking it to another dealer. The reason for this is my truck will not fit on their lift. This is an ongoing problem with the Ram Trucks. Are you waiting for someone to die in an accident? I am a heart patient and you came close to having a death on your hands. This has shaken me up so much that I do not want to drive the truck home. What would have happened if I was towing my camper? Here are some of my issues: First, my truck was taken to a Chrysler Dealer that does not work on Heavy Duty Trucks. Tow truck that was set up by Chrysler Road Assistance had to swap trucks when he found out it was a 3,500 dually. This caused a delay on his arrival. Service manager said mechanic test-drove and found nothing wrong. Service manager said they checked the front end and everything looked okay. Service manager said my truck would not fit on their lift. So how did they check my truck out?On June 26, 2013 at 1400H, I called Ram Customer Asst. and spoke with Christa. She is going to have my truck taken to a dealer that is capable of working on the heavy duty trucks. I asked if she could take it back to Port Jeff. She will call me back and let me know. On June 26, 2013 at 1715H, I checked home answering machine; message from Christa (Ram Assist) said they were taking my truck to Westbury. They refused to take it back to Port Jeff where I purchased the truck. June 27, 2013 at 0800H, this is day four (4) without my truck. Chrysler Assistance originally towed my truck to a dealer that was not equipped to work on my truck. Now, I have to start over again with a new service rep. My opinion is Ram is collecting all the information with respect to the years/models, and then they will post a recall, or in my case, fix it quietly when the truck goes to the shop for the wobble. At 0930H, I tracked down the truck. It is located at Westbury Jeep Dodge. No service advisor as of now.At 0935H, service rep left a message on my home phone, not cell phone. At 1130H, I spoke with the service rep. (Lenny). He wanted to review/go over why the truck is there. He said that I bottomed out. I corrected him right away and told him the other place said the same, and that I dont know where that came from. I told him that I had the Death Wobble. He said Oh, okay, and no more questions were asked. After we talked for a few minutes, he said here is the issue... They only have one (1) mechanic authorized to work on the Cummins chassis and he has 4-5 Sprinter Vans ahead of me. I asked, How long? and he said maybe 1-2 weeks, depends on what the Vans are in for. Lenny the service rep said he would get back to me this evening or tomorrow evening with an update. At 1730H, message was left on home answering machine by the Chrysler caseworker. I returned his call, but had no luck. It went to his voicemail. On June 28, 2013 at 0752H, day 5 and no truck, and no call from Westbury Chrysler Jeep. Just to be clear, this is not Westburys fault and I am not upset with them. Lenny is working with me as best as possible. At 1130H, I went home for lunch, checked answering machine and had no messages. I called Ram Asst. and left a voicemail with Gus. Gus returned my call 10 minutes later. He stated that the dealer knows what the problem is, but are not complete with troubleshooting. Gus said he will get back to me today, and if not today then not later than Tuesday of next week. I went searching on the internet and found out that the 2011 Power Wagon had the same issue. I wonder if they have the same front end. If not, what then is in common?July 1, 2013, no truck and no word from the dealer or Ram (Gus). At 1705H, I checked home answering machine. Lenny from Westbury left message stating that the steering stabilizer was the cause. They placed one on order, should be there on the 2nd (from my previous experience, the steering stabilizer is a shock absorber mounted horizontally and is usually installed in older vehicles to prevent the wobble of loose/sloppy steering issues). Hope it works. I know these trucks come stock from the factory with the stabilizer installed. Why? On July 2nd, 2013 at 1700H, I checked home voicemail. Lenny from Westbury left message. While listening to the message, Lenny called again and I spoke to him. He said, Good news and bad news. Mechanic was test driving truck after oil change and heard a clunking sound left front. Lenny said the mechanic will put the truck on the lift once it is available again. Truck will probably be done on the 3rd of July around noontime.July 3rd, 2013 at 0730H, ten days without my truck, and it is still not repaired. According to the service rep., the problem was the steering stabilizer. I have swapped out stabilizers on other trucks/jeeps in the past. This is a bolt-on item that should take less than 1 hour to replace. What took so long to repair my truck? Why did the dealer not have stock on a common part? Why was my truck towed to a shop that was not certified/capable to work on my truck? Why has RAM not corrected this issue with a re-call? Why did I pay over $58,000 for a truck and have to put up with this type of service? I am a betting man. I will bet that when I pick up my truck (when it is finally repaired), the fuel tank will be on empty, the inside will be dirty, and the truck was not washed. At 1130H-1215H, no message from the dealer on my truck. No message from Gus at Ram Services. Dealer is not open on the 4th of July, so hopefully my truck will be ready on the 5th of July. At 1730H, I arrived home, listened to voicemail. Truck is ready to pick up. Too late in the day to pick up, so I decided to wait until the next open business day (5th of July). July 8th, 2013 0630H not a good day on July 5th. I arrived at Westbury Jeep/Chrysler around 9:00-9:30. I asked the cashier who I see about picking up my truck. She asked who my service rep is. I said Lenny (one of 5 reps). She went in the back, brought out some paperwork and said that I owed them $111 for the oil change. I paid the amount due. She then said to give my paperwork to one of the valets outside and they would bring my truck around. To give you an idea of this place, it takes up 1 block, cars/trucks are double-parked in the street, tightly packed in the yard. The valet brought my truck around and that is when I noticed the right rear bumper. There is a nice dent/paint missing. The dent is very recent. I instructed the valet to go and get my service rep (who I have never met). Lenny came out and looked at my truck. I voiced my opinion of what I thought and Lenny went inside to get his boss. Lennys boss came out, looked at it, went inside grabbed my vehicle delivery receipt and noticed that there were no dings/dents in that area, just on the tailgate which I knew about. I asked them what they were going to do about this. Their response was to come back when the body shop was open, drop off my truck for a few days, let them fix what they messed up. My wife asked if we can get a loaner car. The answer was no. My truck has been locked up by Chrysler for 12 days. The dealer replaced the steering stabilizer and dented my rear bumper. On the way home, my truck would still shimmy/wobble when I would hit a bump. Not as severe as before, but there is still an issue there. The new stabilizer dampens the problem, not fix the problem. This is probably why the stabilizer went bad at only 12,000 miles. I want my new truck fixed correctly. Once I got home, rolled down the window, stood outside the truck with the engine running, and started turning the steering wheel quickly to the left and right (just enough to move the front tires) and you can notice a jerky/sloppy motion on the tire. I am not a very happy person. I am very unhappy with Chrysler, Westbury Jeep, Lenny (Service rep). I am going to wait until Gus (Chrysler worked) shows up, then I will give him a call and say hi.At 0700H, when I picked up my truck, it had over 50 miles on it (a lot of test drives?) from when it was towed away, it was dirty inside and out, fuel tank below 1/4 tank, the old oil change sticker from the previous oil change. I crawled under the truck to see if they did in fact change the oil. Even the oil drain plug was dirty/oily from them removing the drain plug. Come on, wipe the drain plug off when you re-install the plug. This is basic mechanic stuff. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I CHANGED!? Your dealers are worried about one thing. MONEY. Not the customer. This is one of two dealers that Chrysler would tow my truck to... 1st place Garden City could not fix the problem. 2nd place only replaced a steering stabilizer and dented my truck. Problem not fixed. My truck is the Ram 3500 Dually Long Horn and looked very nice before going to one of your dealers. Just over 13,000 miles, right rear dent, and a loose front end. This truck looks and rides like a truck that has over 100,000 miles on it. NOT GOOD. At 0810H, I called Gus (caseworker), no answer, left voicemail/message and for him to call me on my cell. At 0911H, no call back from anyone. I tried sending Sergio an email... not sure of email address. At 1200H, while I was at home for lunch, I looked at my front tires. One would have assumed when Westbury Jeep was troubleshooting my truck, they would have inflated the tires to 70psi. I checked them at lunchtime and they were down to 58 psi.At 1230H, back from lunch. NO message or any calls from Chrysler. At 1315H, emails have been sent to the following personnel, which none have replied back: Sergio **, Reid **, Dave **. At 1604H, no word from anyone at Chrysler. The service manager at Westbury Jeep called and left a voicemail on the home phone and he said he was glad/appreciated my business, and just wanted to thank me for being a loyal customer. (This is a case of the left hand not talking to the right hand.) On July 9, 2013 at 0645H, no word from Chrysler. On the way to work, the truck started the wobble again. Not as severe. When it starts, it seems like it goes back towards the center of the chassis. Its like the chassis is flexing/twisting.At 0700H, follow up emails have been sent to the following personnel, which none have replied back: Sergio **, Reid **, Dave **. At 0813H, I called Gus at Chrysler and left another voicemail for him to call me back. At 0813H, I signed up on the Cummins forum. Very interesting and a lot of issues with the Death Wobble. At 1055H, after another call (800-763-8422) to Chrysler and one more attempt to speak with Gus (**), I finally spoke to Christa, explained the situation to her and she was able to connect me to Gus. Gus stated that my original case has been forwarded to another department and will be assigned a new caseworker. I asked for their phone number, but Gus did not have it, and said I would have the phone number once someone called me back. Now, I wait until another caseworker calls me.

Heater doesnt work properly on safely road. Smell burnt wiring in the cab and the heater dont work really properly. Way too many problems with this truck.

I bought a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4X4 Long Horn ECO DIESEL 3.0. I drove it from Minneapolis St. Paul to MS. I loved the truck, but after 2 weeks, My engine light came on and then I received a warning message stating that my truck would not start after 110 miles. Dodge informed me that the DEF pump was bad and it was going to cost me $2900 plus tax to get it fix. The truck has 150K on it. It has been in the shop more than in my drive garage. I asked other guys about their experience with the DEF pump, and they told me that they deleted it. I asked Dodge about deleting it but they said that it was illegal. So if its illegal, and their pump is bad, shouldnt Dodge pay for it? Its not my fault or any other ECODIESEL drivers fault that they manufactured a faulting part. I think Im going to put a sign on my doors that read DONT BUY A DODGE...THEY WILL BREAK YOUR BANK.

The issues with Ram trucks that people are having must be just from these people on here. Regardless of the Chrysler vehicle, whether it be Dodge Journey, Caliber, SRT Charger, Challenger, Magnum, Dakotas, Stratus, (on my second Hemi Ram), I know people that own/have owned all the above-mentioned vehicles, and besides regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues whatsoever. I myself have owned 2 Rams, and again, NO mechanical issues whatsoever. The only issues Ive had has actually been with cosmetic stuff added to the truck by the dealership after delivery from the factory. The side step bumpers and brackets rusted, and the powder coating was peeling off after only 2200 miles. One Rumble Bee sticker on the box had to be replaced as it was starting to bubble. I took the mud flaps off the dealer put on as they were literally flapping in the wind, rubbing the paint. Oh yes, the radio would have a mind of its own, would sometimes stick on maximum volume, wouldnt shut off, couldnt change stations, nothing. And sometimes wouldnt even turn on. Chrysler had to download new software into the radio. Works great now. Guess what, my Dads friends 2016 Honda Civic (yes Honda) had the exact same problem. The dealership had to download new software into the radio. Works great now. (Yes, a Honda Civic.) Anyone Ive known. Family members as well, anyone Ive known who have had Chrysler vehicles have never had any mechanical issues at all. Just regular maintenance.A buddy of mine, his Magnum went 215,000 miles zero problems. Heck, never even replaced the battery. My first Ram truck went 173,000 miles. Except regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues.Broken exhaust manifold bolts was the only what I considered major issue. (Even though the repair was only $378, taxes in, Canadian dollars to boot as Im in Canada) And the place I had the work done, they told me Chrysler AND GM trucks are prone to exhaust manifold bolts breaking. The service manager told me they do probably 1 a week from both GM and Chrysler. My nephew bought a new Ford Fusion. Sooner rather than later he traded it in, guess what, he was having electrical issues with it. And he thought, before it gets any worse, and runs out of warranty, trade it in. My girlfriends 2012 Mazda (yes Mazda), the torque converter quit on her 2x. Leaving her literally stranded, again, yes Mazda. Japanese. I worked with a guy who had a Miata, THE biggest pile of junk he said he had ever owned. Nothing but problems with it. Guess what people, even the Japanese can make crap vehicles.

I purchased a Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. And I love this truck. It rides smooth. This truck is great for on and off road. This truck gets up and goes no hesitation. But I would make the dodge level. I dont like the fact that the front of the truck is approx 2 inches lower than the back suspension. I also would maybe put a nicer rim on this vehicle. Also the steering box should be changed in this vehicle. They have been known to cause issues like the death wobble. The slider also needs to be reinforced and a sturdier lock should be used. But I love the body style and comfort of the interior. And the overall appearance and performance of this vehicle. I love the engine sizes you can choose for your lifestyle. Dodge is a very reliable truck. And I chose this vehicle due to reputation of Dodge Ram Tough. Ive never had any problems with it.

The vehicle has had vibration in the front end. Since purchase I had to replace the ball joints at 38,000 miles. Front end tire wear has forced premature purchase of tires. Def fuel problems have delayed travel plans twice. From my research I believe the front end issues should be a recall item. I have had the truck in service now 20 times and now have a CAR FAX history that is affecting the sale of the vehicle.

Back in 2014 I bought a Dodge Ram 1500 diesel. About a month ago, got a check engine. Took it in and they scanned it and there is was an issue with SCR catalytic converter. Service advisor told me keep on driving, parts are on the back order. 14 days ago I got a message on the display DEF INCORRECT SEE DEALER, and then the countdown started on the display. 300 km vehicle will not restart. I took it to a dealer and its been 10 days since, no loaner, no rental, and no estimated date for parts. Horrible service. Think twice before getting a Dodge.

Since we have bought our Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 we have had nothing but problems. #1 stalls when driving. #2 put 4 trannys in it and dont pull anything heavy with it. #3 paint falling off it. #4 it revs up when just idling. The rpms shoot to 4 and back down. We have had everything possible fix that it may have been and it still does the same thing. Just crazy. Some people now days can only afford one vehicle and when they do they expect it to be a good one. I will tell you one thing if I can afford to get another one it will definitely NOT be a Dodge. With all these problems and not just this one there are a lot of complaints about 05 Dodges. I cant believe that only the States are buying back these vehicles. But I will tell you one thing. I have kids in my vehicle and if it stalls and someone get hurt there will be a big law suit. This is not good for business. From one unhappy customer.

Purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 express in September 2014. Within 4,000 miles I observed odd tire wear on rt front tire. According to definitions by Bridgestone and Goodyear the tire wear condition is known as heal/toe wear or feathering. Have noticed that about half the trucks in my area are experiencing same problem. Have had 4 alignments, road force tire balance, and no improvement!Alignment in factory specs have 12,100 miles now, expecting maybe 3,000 more likes before I have to replace tire. Have Ram case worker assigned. No known fix to problem. Alignment does not correct problem. Dodge has now referred me to National Center for Dispute Settlement. Arbitration board will hear my case and attempt to settle in 40 days or less. If I am not satisfied I will lemon law truck through lemon law act. This is my 11th Chrysler vehicle, and the fifth truck. Very, very disappointed with suspension issue. Dodge used to be a good truck, but frankly Fiat is in way over their head having purchased this company. At this point they will give me a new truck through arbitration or lemon law act and make me happy or I will brink a class action suit against them. I know at least five other owners who are dealing with same problem and are more than willing to join action with me. My advice to Ram truck owners, dont let dealers blow you off, be insistent with customer care, and stick to your guns, the law is on your side!!!

Sold my 05 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel to buy New 2016 RAM 2500 w/ turbo diesel. After having the fuel sensing unit go out at about 45,000 miles, got it fixed under warranty luckily with 150 dollars deposit. So here I am with 65000 miles, now its the turbo actuator part. Apparently its about 3100 dollars (American) without the warranty. So I am locked to have the dealership do the work, and of course its backordered and I am out of my truck for going on 2 weeks (while renting a mini van to keep myself in business). All I can tell anyone, buy the dealership warranty before driving off the lot. Biggest mistake Ive made ever since selling my 05 Dodge Ram inline 6. As soon as I get the truck back, Im selling to buy another brand. I need a dependable truck.

The timing chain broke on my 2007 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L hemi engine with 53,000 miles. After an internal inspection, it appeared as if the timing chain tensioner was to blame. It is a stamped metal piece with plastic runner clipped onto it to keep the timing chain tight. Well, it look as if these plastic pieces failed causing the timing chain to grab the metal on the tensioner and rip it apart snapping the chain and locking up the engine. My vehicle is no longer under factory warranty. But I still contacted Dodge and they say that there is no warranty and that I must take it to the dealer for them to look at it and that any repair would be a Goodwill Repair. I explained to them that I do not have the monetary means to have the vehicle towed to Dodge inspected and then towed home again when they tell me there is no warranty. I still owe more than $21,000.00 on the truck and can’t drive it. What am I to do?

2012 Ram 3500. Had this truck 2 1/2 years. Its had the high mount stop light replaced 3xs to correct a water leak. Not confident its fixed, only seems to last a few months. Had radio updated 3xs before replacing to fix the nav system. The major issue is that when I slow or come to a stop I get diesel exhaust fumes coming from the vents. I have complained to the dealer about 4xs about this, they can never find anything. Last trip in last week they smelled the exhaust and replaced the EGR. Picked up truck Saturday, drove it Monday and same issue. Started a case with Chrysler. They called back and asked what is my expected outcome? Really told them take the truck and give me my money back, just dont think they know how to correct the issue and its to the point no one will ride in the truck. This is nasty, not to mention a health hazard. This is my 1st & last Chrysler product Ill ever buy.

While picking up the 2007 Ram, I found water under the back seats. The sales representative assured me it was due to the cleaning and washing of the truck, and if this was a window leak, the dealer will service it. It rained last night, and I found plenty of water under the seats. Now the dealer sale representative and manager denied seeing and saying that the dealer would be responsible for the leakage. I need the rear window to be repaired; the rain or water is affecting the structural integrity of the car due to corrosion. Needless to say, the mildew and smell inside the car is not acceptable. If I would have been aware of this issue, I would have never bought the truck.

Bought my Laramie in April 2014. Always was a Ford man - decided to try the Cummins. Bought brand new and wow this is the biggest letdown of my life. Since the second week of buying both front seats came apart at the fasteners and as of 8/21/14 I am waiting for the okay to replace them from Chrysler. The fourth week came around with a check engine light on so with broken seats that ripped my wifes dress I took it to the dealer. They said they cant figure out the code it produced so they just reset it. Two weeks later it was on again along with def service at dealer also tire pressure monitor system failed and the data radio has lost all presets and cuts in and out. Took to another dealer and they said theyre ordering parts and the radio had a recall. One month later came out from work to drive the two hour ride home from work - truck wont start, had to wait for tow truck. Now I am at a third dealership with my 68 thousand dollar truck chained down to a tow truck and I repeat the process of explaining the broken seats check engine light def service light tire monitoring needs service radio data system is still broke after the first recall etc. They call me a week later saying it is all fixed...I drove the two hours back making my wife miss work because they wont issue a truck to borrow while yours is getting fixed. Show up and nothing is fixed but they ordered all the parts. The truck starts though but still has broken seats def service by dealer tire pressure monitoring service are all still there. They ordered parts and will call. They told me it was a loose battery connection. I laughed cause that was my first thought as I checked it being I am a local 12 heavy equipment mechanic for the last 18 years and had my service truck right there. They lie cause I was fed up and got the Chrysler resolution team involved, the day I was stranded two hours away from home not returning to my house until 2am 11 hours after my truck wouldnt start and my wife got off work and picked me up. I have owned the truck 7 months and have been to the dealer 7 times - nothing has been fixed, just ordered with no call backs. After this month Im giving it back to the bank and will have a repossession all because Chrysler fiat ram cares nothing about customer service or their disgusting product. To all my union brothers, dont buy a ram or dodge - it will be a disaster you wont ever recover from. Stick with the Rord super duty or Chevrolet, they wont leave you and yours helplessly stranded lost and confused in the dark.

I bought my 2017 Ram 2500 6.4 2/12 months ago. The truck when purchased had 11 miles in it. The day after I purchased the truck I started in driveway and noticed a puff of blue smoke. Went a couple days and noticed it 75% of the time. Called dealer with 200 miles on truck and they said to call them back at 500. It was just breaking in. I called them back at 500 and they said to give it until 1000 miles. At about 1500 miles I made them give me an appointment. It was over 2 quarts low on oil. They saw the smoke and topped it off. Now they have me doing an oil consumption test? Every 500 miles I have to go to dealer and they check it and top it off!It is averaging between a half a quart to 3/4 of a quart each time. They claim it is protocol that I have to do this up until 7500 miles! That nothing can be done until the break-in period but monitor it! This is insane! I have to drive to dealer every 500 miles. The truck is going to burn over 5 quarts before its first oil change! The warranty people on phone said this is normal protocol! Soooo over $40,000 on new truck, 5 quarts of oil per oil change and people coming up to me constantly telling me my brand new truck sure was smoking when I started it up (extremely embarrassing). Lesson learned.

I had a check engine light come on on a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 with 17,000 actual miles. Took it to our dodge dealer (Christophers Dodge) and upon running the computer was told that there was probable a clogged exhaust line and/or valves not working. Upon taking the truck in a week later was informed by Christophers Dodge that we had a completely plugged EGR Cooler and it would cost around $3200.00 to fix. This has been a problematic part with Chrysler and if replaced during the 5 year 100,000 miles warranty it would be paid for. Well since our vehicle falls out of the 5 year warranty period they would only reduce the cost of the labor. Even though the vehicle only has 17,000 miles and looks like it came off the showroom. We were informed we were not loyal customers since we had not done our oil changes there. So we ended up paying 2600.00 for the repair and in my opinion will never purchase another Chrysler product since they do not back their vehicles.

Executive Summary: The American Automotive Industry as we once knew it and in some circumstances its new European/Asian owners has and continues to set higher and higher standards for not only our convenience, but always with safety in mind. And having had and witnessed some really bad automobile accidents, I for one am grateful for their due diligence. This document speaks to the topic of safety. The DEF System warning that shuts trucks down after some pre-defined distance is dangerous to all who own or operate one. Many of us spend countless hours in our trucks and often at remote locations. This piece of programming needs to be recalled and adjusted such that it does not shut down the truck, but simply warns the operator of the need for service as quickly as is reasonable. The Solution: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations such that they are benign but not ignored. The Benefits: Safety of all customers and consumers driving our highways. The call to action: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations. I purchased my second (new) Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn 3500 Dually 4X4 in July of 2013 from Allen Samuels Dodge on the South Loop in Houston, Texas in July 2013. Up until the circumstances Im about to describe, I can honestly say Ive been happy with the product and its performance. And, since I spend a significant amount of time in my truck with or hauling animals, reliability and safety is constantly on my mind. Getting stranded at any time is not an option although flat tires are often unavoidable on the trailers.December 2, 2014. I am a senior consultant for a small firm where we support an engineering software application that requires occasional out of state travel. This past December the firm received a call from a client that had an emergency and needed someone on site within 48 hours to assist them for a month or more. I packed, kenneled my dog and headed for Wilmington, NC from my home in Bellville, TX within 12 hours. I chose to drive due to weather conditions at the time, not wanting to get caught in any airport delays. Again, time was of the essence and with just under 48,000 mile on the truck had no reason to believe there would be any systems issues. The oil had been changed the day prior, tire pressure was good, DEF tank was full and I had just fueled up.December 3, 2014. I was sitting in traffic on I-10 just 20 miles outside of Baton Rouge, LA when the DEF System warning of the need for service within 200 miles needed to occur or the system would kick in a governor that would prevent the vehicle from going more that 5mph. I immediately contacted the Dodge dealership in Baton Rouge (Salsburys Dodge, 9550 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA (225) 926-8800). They were terrific, I had them replace the fuel filters and according to their accounting, they flashed the module and I was on my way in an hour and a half. Its now after 5pm. I needed to make Mobile, AL or beyond that night.December 4, 2014- February 24, 2015. I returned home on January 15, 2015, have had a couple of oil changes, radiator flush and new antifreeze added at a RAM dealership in Wilmington, NC, more DEF added to the tank and were now at 54000 plus miles. The late afternoon of February 24, 2015 I was heading home from Houston, TX and the DEF System warning came back on. Once again I have 200 miles to get service. Since the Tommy Vaughan Dodge Dealership is the closest to my home at this point and I had a good friend who had just purchased his RAM from them a couple of months ago, I headed in on the morning of February 25th. 100 miles before the DEF System programming will shut me down. I made the call to Tommy Vaughan and scheduled service for in the morning at 8am.February 25, 2015, 8am through February 27, 2015 4:30pm. The initial item noted was the need to replace the air filter. This did not resolve the DEF System error message as was suggested. The folks at Tommy Vaughan Dodge worked tirelessly for the next three days troubleshooting the issue and appeasing me. None of the module errors alerted them to the real issue. It took numerous calls to Chrysler by them and me to get technical support to their personnel with little or no success.I contacted my service manager at Allen Samuels to determine if she had experienced anything similar. She suggested it was the DEF System Pump. Additional diagnostics proved this to be true. Still no success with DEF System pressure through the injector. Turned out this needed to be replaced as well due to the failure of the pump. ONLY after much frustration (mine), the issue is resolved and Im back on the road. Three days later. Loss of work is 30 man-hours at a consulting rate and more frustration than you can imagine.A consumer at the mercy of failed manufacturer procedures. Total cost of repairs was just under $1300.00 (warranty on the DEF System parts had exhausted at 50,000 miles. I had just above 54000). RAM was not willing to help me out with the cost of parts and labor. The pump and injector should have been RECALLED in that nationally, there are 70 of these pumps on back order for RAM. What do the folks do that cant get parts? Lose use of their vehicle or is the DEF System temporarily by-passed, I wonder? So, why the long letter and what do I really want?I want the DEF System module that is programmed to shut the trucks down at 200 miles to be re-programmed such that you get the warning that the system needs service, but does not put me and countless other drivers like me across America in a potentially life threatening situation as a result of Clean Air Act mandates.I have hauled horses across the United States, served as the equine ambulance driver for horses that were on their way to colic surgery (two hours from a venue in Montana) and drive 75 miles one way to work each morning with animals and people at home relying on my safe return for their well-being. My 2013 RAM cost me $65,000.00 (it was my second in a two year period, I purchased my first $55,000.00 RAM in 2011).That all major automobile manufacturers put every single diesel truck owner in America in harms way is unacceptable. How many wrecks are caused because a driver was suddenly shut down to 5mph, or could not get to dealer within 200 miles to address DEF System issues? Why are 70 DEF System pumps on back order? How many are on back order for the other truck manufacturers? In my own case, the Columbus, TX service department had to go to Brenham, TX to get the replacement pump and to La Grange, TX to get the injector. And where I am grateful to their heroic efforts, what if I had been stranded in a far more remote location? With a 40 trailer and 8 horses in tow heading to an international event 3000 miles from my home? What is Dodge going to do for me then? Or FORD, GM, Chevrolet? What if the DEF System had been in place during Hurricanes Katrina or Rita or Ike? Would we have been shutdown on a crowded Freeway attempting to escape harms way? What about the next hurricane season? Emergency vehicles? What if youre in the ambulance thats headed to a hospital some 200 miles away and the DEF System warning occurs. Do you mean to tell me the ambulance will need to be out of service until a service department can find parts?I ask, do you have three days to wait for a situation that was completely avoidable? Im not a bureaucrat; Im just a working person. Like all my friends that own diesel trucks that are in the same situation Im in. Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down.Im all about cleaning up the environment meant even if its with a colorless, odorless product that can kill people and animals if accidentally ingested, and although Ive not tried it, I understand its pretty good at cleaning stains on concrete. But dont leave people stranded because of pre-determined mechanical obsolescence (in excess of 50,000 miles or is it base upon vehicle operational hours?).Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down. Thank you for your time and consideration. This document will be sent to all the major US and European automotive manufacturers and made public via DEF forums and all forms of electronic communications effective immediately including Consumer Report. Once this recall is in place to include the reprogramming of the DEF Module, I will follow-up with a thank you letter to all.

I have 2 Dodge Rams. One’s a ‘03 1500 Quad Cab with 4.7. Other is a ‘06 2500 Quad Cab. I bought the ‘03 in ‘05, and the ‘06 about a year ago. I bought the ‘03 with 20,000 miles, it now has 257,000. Ive never had to do anything to it besides routine maintenance and suspension of course. And bought the 06 with 90,000 miles. Now has 127,000 and still no problems. I take great care of mine and never hard on them. I have quite a bit of friends who drives Rams and none of them has trouble really. So I dont know why so many people has problems with them. It’s the only truck Ill ever buy.

I have a 1993 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 Cummins engine. This truck is a Club Cab 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I rebuilt the transmission at 328,000 miles and the truck now has 356,000 miles with the original motor and running gear. I change my fluids often and have no issues whatsoever. Every option from the cold AC and cruise control to the rear view camera that I added work perfectly. This truck consistently gets 18mpg which is better than most 3/4 ton 4x4 pickups on the road. I get compliments everywhere I go from people driving newer vehicles, many of them making payments while theyre constantly taking it to the dealer for repairs. I would not hesitate to drive my truck anywhere, anytime. If you are tired of paying $40k, $50k or $60k for a new truck that just creates headaches, consider getting a real truck from the 1990s when the big 3 were in competition with each other as to who could build the best truck on the road. Unfortunately today they are only competing for profit at the expense of making cheaply built vehicles carrying over inflated price tags.

I purchased my 2007 2500 diesel truck brand new from the dealership. After 3 months, the truck was in the shop for the first of many visits. By 40,000 miles, I had replaced the batteries 3 times, driver and passenger HUB assemblies, wheel seals and 4-wheel drive. By 60,000 miles, the transmission was blown. By 80,000, a death wobble had started that is unfixable. Its in the shop every 2 months for the same fix. This truck has been a piece since the first day. I have owned nothing but heavy duty trucks for hauling livestock and ranch life. I bought this truck because I was told you can get hundreds of thousands of miles on these engines! This truck hasnt even made it to 100k and trust me, it wont either.

I am very discouraged with the ordering Dodge trucks process. I ordered exactly what I wanted on/and its now August 5th and still has not moved through the building process at the Michigan plant. WTH is going on. VIN is was assigned only a few weeks after but its stuck in D status which is not even through the line yet. This is not the 4-8 weeks that I thought it was going to be. Now they are saying it could be the eTorque or the Ram boxes that is holding it up. I think this is unexceptionable. If you can choose on the main Ram truck website what you can order then why cant they build it in a timely manner?

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4x4 which was bought new with a lifetime power train warranty. The oil pressure gauge went down several times, which I pulled over and sometimes the minute I did the pressure picked up. Most of the time I killed the truck for a few seconds and restarted and pressure picked back up. I took it to Rockwall Dodge. They kept it for a week and told me they could not duplicate and to keep driving it. If it happened again, to not turn it off, and drive it to them. I told them I am not driving my truck with no pressure. Few months later the rod broke in the motor. The field rep said there was sludge in the motor and denied my claim, saying it was not maintained. I sent a year’s worth of maintenance receipts to the case manager, and they say that it’s the field manager that looked at the pictures to base his personal opinion even though I have records. Now there is no one to override this opinion. I did my part (regular maintenance). Now they still won’t fix my truck. There are fresh metal shavings in the photos that sludge the oil and turned it silver, pieces of the broke rod, and pick up screen full of shavings. This is all a result of the rod breakage and there is no reason this should not be covered. I had the dealership send me over the same photos the rep was sent and there is no way this is an un-maintenanced truck. Need help to make Dodge honor their lifetime power train warranty!

We are a small company that has purchased Dodge Ram 3500 diesels over the past 5-years. The most current two we purchased were in 2018 and they will be the last. We currently have 13 Dodge Ram vehicles with the oldest a 2014; which is our entire fleet. Between the 13-Dodges we now have 50-recalls. For us to decommission a vehicle for a couple of days so the recall can be completed requires a lot of work; costly for us. We must move our crews out of the truck, rent a truck, interrupt our workday, pay overtime, create problems for our client, deal with issues created with USDOT, and on and on which all relates to us losing revenue for our company. For a small business to have to go through this difficulty for 50-recalls; up to 50-times; let alone all the service problems and mechanical failures with these vehicles, they are extremely excessive and costly to us. We have completed 43 of the 50 recalls to date. Costs are mounting and the recalls keep coming; one at a time. What are they building at Chrysler? What inferior components are they using that creates these recalls and dissatisfied customers like us?We have called FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) to discuss and to talk with a supervisor but they are proving very difficult to get hold of. They have only returned one of my calls that was not able to be answered; the message was; that they simply say who they are but they leave no contact information. Calling back to the main number only gets us to the basic apologies and they will only take a message for the supervisor; they say that the supervisor has no direct contact number or email; we (ironically) wonder why. They say that the Supervisor will call back in 1-business day; that is not happening. In the past, we loved Dodge Ram; but not anymore. We are currently and actively searching for a new brand; NOT DODGE. We need to replace three trucks this year plus add one more to our fleet.

Horrible!!! My Dodge 3500 dropped its 4-wheel drive towing 1/3 of the weight its rated for. It has never been fixed by dealership right since. Its spent over 6 months of the past year at the dealership. I made an appointment. It took two weeks to tell me whats wrong. Now its been there for 3 months and they cant figure out how to put parts in and think they need more parts. Ive talked with Chrysler corporation which just says its on the dealership. Ive talked to a lawyer now. Ive owned Chevy, Ford and Toyota trucks. Never been treated like this. They wont even offer a rental truck. Buy any truck besides a Dodge. Horrible company.

Since we got the Ram Dodge 2007 1500 pickup in 2008 from the dealership, the 4 wheel drive truck will all of a sudden die when I hit some bumps on our dirt road where we live (I am not 4 wheeling either, I have kids in the car). This happens randomly. We have taken it in now for 3 times. First time, they said they saw that it happened on the computer. However, the second and third time, they said they didn’t see it and that it was because my key chain was too heavy. Since 2008, it has died while driving on my dirt road at least 8 times. I just pray it never does it on a bumpy road, on the freeway or highway. Does anyone else have this problem? I don’t take it to the dealership anymore because they say it is because of my keys. Well, I changed it so now it is light so it can’t be that.

1400 miles and noticed pull, steering wheel off center, tires cupping 2nd, center and 3rd rib, wobble left had curves, had to wait 10 days for appointment, so I parked it. Told it was normal tire wear for a dually. No problem found. They set tone. What about steering wheel and pull? Also, this is important: I had been to 2 dealerships and they didnt know the proper tire pressure required. They will put too low pressure in fronts and create an excuse for outside tire wear. I showed them the specs on door pillar. Had to call for authorization for offset ball joint. Service Mgr. told me he heard they had a problem with rotated right axle when it was welded. Uh oh. I called Customer Service FBA. They called me before I picked up truck, wanted to know if I wanted to go to Arbitration? I told them I had worked for Dodge 25 years ago and knew I had to give them 3 wishes, wish they could fix it. Oh. And, I hadnt been called to tell me the truck was done! I was offered road hazard/lifetime balance and rotate from national chain for $160. I took it after 4th rotation and balance 2 unconventional rotation dismounting fronts from rim and swapping by 7900 miles 4th trip to service and 2 rotates and balances from them! At this point Ive been escalated to another acronym for customer service. I provided tire tread wear patterns to service for cupping in ribs, contacted Nexen tire, sent pictures, they concur that its mechanical. I had sent them pictures of bowed right front spring, too.1 service order I questioned the ride height, Right front 1 lower than left, left rear 2 higher than right. Within tolerance after calling tech support. Did you measure and document your findings? No, they took my word for it. Tech rep came and looked at it. Service wrote it up that I was concern about outer tire wear, returning to me my handwritten concerns - nowhere does it say outer cupping in ribs. I even attached a drawing asking about the tolerance of a bowed spring. Contacted General Mgr. of dealership about my complaints not being represented to Chrysler correctly, showed him a picture of the spring. Thats bent he said. I told him his service department has had it in here and they say, cant duplicate it or thats normal for a dually. G.M. would get involved. Spring and 2 tires just arrived. While the tech advisor was there they drove a new truck to compare with mine. The route I discovered would replicate my complaint: accelerator ramp entering highway with a seam in asphalt from here to here on interstate (left sweeping curve, 40 to 80 miles per hour) Wobbles like a hub or a spindle problem yet this has an axle. They drove the same they said. They pointed out which one, I had driven it to see if I was interested in taking the $5000 over trade value in a previous offer. It had 90 lbs in front tire and was a solid, tight front end. Just like mine when it was new. I measured that trucks ride height - this one is even across. I noticed the slightest wear of feathering across tread. Asked them to get the keys, humor me. Found on TPMS #90 on left front #70 on right front. You just demonstrated you could make a new truck feel just like mine. Such a look I got.Make sure service documents exactly what your complaint(s) are. I now will add, it feels like rt front tire is severe underinflated. I contacted selling dealer in another state and was directed to a larger seller of this type of truck. They havent seen many of these but have been successful replacing axle housing, about $4k to warranty. A whole lot less than Ill be out if I went arbitration since I was told this is all theyll do for me. I wont have to wait long after spring replacement to verify fix, 1 more shot at customer service to get axle housing replaced, or I sue. I think I have enough info to verify its their problem and not the customers lack of rotation.

2010 Dodge 3500 Laramie - Since purchased new, my truck has had an issue with a very hard downshift from the fourth to the third gear. I took it back to Chris Nickels dealership and to the dealership in Pryor, OK, but neither would drive the truck to duplicate the problem. South Pointe Dodge in Tulsa, OK finally took the truck in and drove it and duplicated the problem that I had been complaining about since the purchase. To the credit of South Pointe, they have tried several times to find the problem, but they cannot figure it out. I was recently told by South Pointe that there is nothing else they can do until something catastrophic happens. This truck on a regular basis downshifts so hard that it feels like you have been struck from behind by another vehicle. On wet roads, this truck’s rear-end will break loose as this hard downshift occurs. I have been more than patient and have put myself and my family at risk for 88,000 miles now. My patience is depleted as I will be expecting and will certainly appreciate your attention to this matter as soon as possible.

Next had problem with it not starting, turn key and just like the battery was dead. After 7-9 times it finally starts. While driving down interstate truck went into neutral by itself, went back to the dealer BOB ALLAN MOTOR MALL, can not duplicate problem. Now the trucks lights go out while driving complete danger to me and whoever I meet on the road. Again same deal, can not duplicate. Contacted Ram customer service. They offered me a trade in assistance program which basically is a slap in the face as anyone who has ever purchased a new truck or car knows inside of two months you are upside down when trying to trade back to the dealer. We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2011. We love the truck and have never had any issues with it except for the paint chipping off and its rusting already at 4 years old. At approximately a year old we noticed a random chip above one of the headlights. You can tell it bubbled up and chipped off. The damage was not from a rock or an accident. We now have 2 different rust spots. One is on the end gate coming out from the dodge emblem and the other is right above the windshield. Like I stated, love the truck but am very disappointed in the quality of the paint!!

Well, where do I start. We bought a truck from Kernersville Dodge. It was a $3500.00 Dually and paid cash for the truck. We did this in October and we still do not have the title for this vehicle. We have called the dealer and Chrysler several times and each one has told me that the title was mailed. Then I spoke to a manager and she said, Well, we dont have the title to send you, so she didnt know what the first 3 people were talking about. We think that the dealer had not paid off the truck and they still had a lien on the title. I couldnt tell you. I have never been lied to so much.In the meantime. We have had the truck in there for at least 5 times for the vibration. It has been to 3 dealerships now and still Chrysler doesnt want to make it right. Kernersville tried to balance it and then said nothing was wrong. We fussed and fussed until Chrysler sent us to Nichols in Burlington. They did put 2 ties on the front and it was 2 totally different tires then what was on the truck. And they didnt report even doing that job. We fussed about that and they wouldnt make it right. So, we go back to Chrysler and tell them that we are going to get an attorney and get the truck returned and get our money back. The next day we get a call and they have made us an appointment for Crown Dodge in Greensboro. I take the truck in there and the service advisor says oh yeah we had one just like this when he worked at another dealer and we had to fight and fight Chrysler before they would change the tires and it is back tires that we have the issue with. So, he called yesterday and said that Chrysler wouldnt make the tires good and we would have to fight with them. So, I pick it up again today. The other issue was that we had the radio go out and Kernersville ran a test and said to our face that they would change the radio out. We said okay, expecting them to call when they got it in. And we would AGAIN drive 100 miles round trip to get that done. Well, when the Crown Dodge place called Kernersville Dodge to see if they ordered that radio, the guy said, Oh, we already changed that radio out. We knew was a lie. When my husband had talked to them the week before to check on all of this, they said that they had no record of getting a radio or that they even tested the radio. They would have to do that again. We had the paperwork where they did it. So, did they do the test or not. We know they didnt change it out. So, Crown ran their own test and yes the radio is bad and they ordered another. So, now I have in my possession a 60,000 dollar truck with no title and mix match tires that cant be rotated and a radio that goes on and off on its own. Hmmm, but Kernersville Dodge wont make it right. But they were all fine when I was getting ready to make that check out. Oh, yeah I didnt mention that they put the tag under the wrong weight and it was supposed to be a farm tag and it wasnt. Kernersville Dodge did that and didnt want to make that right either. We were told to pay the taxes on the truck and buy another tag. And guess what? I dont have a title or registration to get a tag. The temporary tag has run out. The worst experience I have ever had with a car dealer. They suck. And what makes me so mad is that they dont care. They really could care less if you are a happy customer or not.

Bought a brand new 2016 Ram Rebel off the show room floor and drove it home. Noticed a smell and looked under truck and saw fluid leaking for transmission. Dealer said it was all different parts but in the end they had to replace the trans. They had it for a week and a 1/2, said it was done so I picked it up then the shifting felt like the trans. was going to fall out. Brought it back the next day. They said they put the wrong program in and installed the correct program. Picked up that night, just to see they hit the driver side mirror and marked it. Called to let them know the next day. No one seems to care, still waiting for them to have their detail person call me, truck still smells like its burning something and it comes into the cab. Took it back. They said the radiator fan cover fell off and they reinstalled it. They think that was the burning smell. Picked it up, drove home and still smell the burning.Brought it back. They kept the truck over the weekend and on Monday night they said it was ready. Came back and they said they cant find no leaks but it still smells. They said it could be from the trans. oil that leaked all over the exhaust, and it could take 3 or more months for the smell to go away but they dont know where its coming from, I made an appointment with another dealer to hopefully get this fixed. The truck stickers at $51,700 and I guess RAM trucks are suppose to run like $500 oil burning cars.NOW for Chrysler care support they suck worse than the dealer. I have been assigned several different case managers that never call you back even though they say within 24 hrs. BS, I had my truck back before they even got a hold of the dealership. Then even though I have been taking it to the dealership they said it had been over 30 days and I would have to start a new case file so I did then I was assigned David who I had to call back because it had been over 2 days, even though their people say within 24 hrs. So David tells me he cant get a hold of the dealership thats why he was not calling me back. I told him I had made another appointment at a different dealership to maybe see if another dealership can fix it. I asked him if he could arrange a loaner car for me and he kept talking about how the other dealership hasnt called him back so I asked him if he was even listening to what I had been saying. He didnt even know what I was talking about.I think he was playing Pokemon Go on his phone instead of listening. I asked for him to transfer me to his supervisor. He said he couldnt. I asked him for his supervisors name and I would call them. He said he couldnt give me that information. I asked him if he knew his supervisors name even, so I hung up and called Chrysler back and was on hold for like 25 min before someone answered then I was give elevated alert and was sent to another person who told me I was being assigned to another case person not her but that person will get back to me within 24 hrs. Again this has not happened, but that will be another story Im sure, but the Shylo women I spoke to but couldnt take my case. Told me that they are not allowed to give supervisors names out, that is company policy so if you have an idiot for a case manager you have no recourse to talk to someone above him to get your car fixed. In my two months, of dealing with Chrysler I havent had a case manager that has been competent and able to fix my car or even get a hold of any of the dealerships. None of the case managers call within the 24 hours that is promised by lower Chrysler care employees; normally it takes around 4-5 days to get a callback or even after the truck goes into the dealer to get serviced, and they just say so is the truck fixed now? I believe Chrysler care is just a way to slow down the process of getting your car repaired. Think they are a way to piss you off so you either trade or sell the truck without them having to do a buy back or actually spend the money to fully fix the truck.I have bought 4 Rams and 5 Jeep Wranglers in the last 5 years. I really like my new truck other than I have already made 6 this will be my 7th trip to the dealership in hopes to get it fixed. If things dont turn around and the truck doesnt get fixed it looks like Ill be spending my money on Ford trucks instead. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with Chrysler care, now that I am in this crappy situation trying to get my vehicle repair. I guess when they say Ram trucks are the longest lasting trucks on the road, it is because they spend most of their time in the shop rather than the road like it should.

I called 911 and within minutes the FD arrived on scene.I contacted Chrysler about the fire and they hired an investigator. The thing that got me from the letter was We are sure you will appreciate, fire of this nature can and do occur for a number of reasons not associated with the manufacturing process. At the point of sale no copies of bill of sale or installment loan contract was given to me the buyer. Then when I tried to cancel after 3 days of no receipts they made out and deposited my 3 checks for the down payment. I DID not get any paperwork till June and had to call police to get it. Then they would not give my trade back and cancel deal. Then when I got the paperwork it was shrunk photocopies, not the hard copies I signed in. This is a 10-25k fine. So the loan was 30074.00 after paying in 17000 in cash for 4 years I still owe 29500.00. And the truck is worth 12000. This crime was committed on 4/09/13. And no one has ever helped me in this fraud and check writing fraud. So far they ducked every bullet. Im 71 and the payment is 657 monthly on a 15.8 loan. Where do I find relief. I was sick for 5 years. Im a vet that has been held hostage. Help please.

I was driving my 2013 Ram 2500 with under 10,000 miles and it shut down to what seemed like one cylinder running, with an awful knocking noise. Was towed to the dealer. Ended up having a broken valve spring, 2 bent pushrods, and 2 lifters had to be changed. Rather than change the engine, they said there was no internal engine damage and would fix it. With the noise it made Im shocked theres no other internal damage. They fixed it and sent me on my way.A month later I change the oil and it was full of metal flakes. I guess when they diagnose for internal damage they do not look at the oil. I cant understand that. I called about the issue and they said I should not be doing my own maintenance and theres no proof that there was any metal in the oil because I changed it. How else would I have found this out? They have no idea where the metal could have came from but theres enough to make golf ball sized ball. Told me I was covered by the engine warranty and they would do nothing further to the truck and still deny theres internal engine damage. So I will continue to drive it circulating metal. They didnt even want it back to flush it out.A month later the check engine light is on so I have the code read with a reader at Auto Zone. Theres something wrong with the oil pump. Instead of replacing the engine they are going to keep making me bring it back, an hour away, to keep repairing it until the warranty is over. This engine should have been replaced, not band-aided. My $46,000 truck has rebuilt engine, more internal damage that they will not acknowledge, and only has 11,000 miles on it. Chrysler does not stand by their products and has no interest in making it right. Just wanted to warn others about what happens with Chrysler products when theres an issue.

2010 Dodge Ram - My truck makes a squeaky noise from the motor, and Im told its normal; some do it and some dont. It starts when it warms up after about 1-2 minutes and continues while idling. I have one more garage to check on it, but the dealer it was purchased from says its normal. I find this hard to believe. I am hoping for a solution. I have 4 friends with the same truck, same year and no noise. I feel as though Im not being told the truth.

I owned a 3500 diesel 2012 which the garage could not fix due to the O2 censors kept shooting up and putting the check engine light on. Dodge bought the truck out and we replaced it with a 2500 gas 2014 truck. This truck had a rear end whine in it. The garage we bought it from said it was like opening Pandoras box and did not want to fix it. This whine was between 50-60 mph. We then took it to another dealer and they heard the whine and opened the rear end but did not see anything wrong with it. The truck had 12,000 miles on it with original warranty and an extended warranty on it. The dealer charged $172.00 to have the whine worse 45-50 mph than when we brought it in to be fixed. Bottom line is go buy a FORD or Chevrolet not a Dodge Ram. Two strikes and youre out forever.

While driving my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, the ignition shuts down. The truck stalls out and I lose power steering and control. This has happened on several occasions and many times nearly caused an accident. I have spoke with Dodge about this dangerous situation more than once and have taken my vehicle into the local Dodge dealer for repairs. Some of the repairs were performed on a recall status, however this stalling problem has not been addressed and does not show up on the computer; therefore it doesnt exists!! My truck stalled five times yesterday and had to struggle to steer it off the road to prevent a rear-end collision. My wife was with me twice and refuses to ride in this vehicle any longer. I called Dodge yesterday and was on hold for 35 minutes. I finally called a representative not associated with any recalls and expressed my dissatisfaction concerning this matter. I was told there would be a 24 hour time period before a supervisor returned my call. I have not heard as yet. I clearly do not know what to do. I need this vehicle for my work and it has been modified to tow vehicles. I just cant climb in another vehicle and perform my duties. Dodge does not want to admit there is a problem because then it would have to be added to their long list of recalls. I wonder if it will show up on their computers when there is a fatality. Apparently, they have scheduled another appointment at a different dealer to check the truck again. I will have to take time off work and only hope I arrive there safely.
