Ram Trucks, stylized as RAM and formerly known as the Ram Truck Division, is an American brand of light to mid-weight commercial vehicles, and a division of Stellantis. It was established in a spin-off from Dodge in 2010 using the name of the Ram Pickup line of trucks.

The 2020 Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickup trucks are all about extreme towing, hauling, and comfort. With a new, stronger frame and powerful standard 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine, this wide and award-winning range of rigs can handle everything from dirty jobs to family trips. What's more, both versions offer the best interior in the segment with luxury-car details and an impressive list of tech features. These are not only the quietest, most comfortable, and most refined heavy-duty pickups Ram has ever made, they're also the most powerful. The brand's legendary Cummins turbo-diesel engine packs 1000 lb-ft of torque—more than its heavy-duty competitors from Chevy and GMC.

Our 2009 Dodge Ram truck is sitting in the driveway and it is useless. It only has 130,000 miles. We have had it in for numerous repairs and we still have a useless truck that has no power. There is also a recall on a front end part and we still have never been able to get in for the repair. There is now a recall on the recall. Please do not buy a Dodge truck of any kind. Especially, do not buy from Love Chrysler in Alice, Texas. They could never fix your truck but they could keep sure could find something wrong with it. We spent over $20,000 on repairs and finally just went and bought a new Ford Truck. We will never ever step inside a Dodge Chrysler Dealership again to buy a car or truck. Why can't all of us who have been sold lemons band together and make Dodge Chrysler stand behind their repairs.

Love the powerful engine, but not worth the headaches. Tons of recalls... 3 in the last week!!! Brought truck in for its first tire rotation and the mechanic asked if I had been in an accident as the entire truck bed is nearly 2” out of alignment (shifted to the left) with the front cab! Radio, navigation system, AND hands-free phone system all started to glitch at 48, 000 miles. Would cost over $700 to replace. The body looks beautiful, but dents much easier than ANY of my trucks... I’ve owned GMC and FORD prior to purchasing my RAM. Very frustrated with all the service issues and not having a navigation system that was quite pricey!

My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500's motor blew up on Aug 6. This particular model is not covered past three years/36,000 miles. I bought it used and the first owner didn't buy the extended warranty. I contacted Chrysler directly, case number 21213374, in order to find out if they would assist me in some way since a three-year-old motor should not blow up. Aug 8 was my initial call and I have called my caseworker Natasha every day and left messages in order to find a resolution. She has not yet returned my calls despite my plea for immediate assistance and I am without a vehicle and insurance will not provide a loaner. Considering the automotive industry is lagging considerably, wouldn't customer service be a top priority? No loyalty to repeat owners (I have had six Chrysler autos) and complete indifference to people in need of help.

I bought my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 in 2010. Truck had close to 60,000 miles when I bought it. Now granted yes this was a used vehicle and you have to expect to run into problems. However what would come to happen over the next five years was completely ridiculous. After having the truck for 6 months my shift solenoid went out. No big deal covered under warranty. After the repair and 2 months later I had major rear end problems. Still no big deal, warranty covered it and my rear end was rebuilt. Almost all new guts for the rear end differential were replaced. 3 days after the repair I noticed that there was too much slack in the rear-end. When taking off you could hear the rear end engaging and very hard. When shifting gears it was haunting. I took it back to Dodge and they informed me then the warranty was no longer valid and that there was no way their mechanic made a mistake. I had to have a vehicle. So a week after my visit to Dodge as I was driving down the road the gears in the rear end finally had enough. The rear-end locked up and the gears crumbled causing the drive shaft to fall completely out and onto the road. I had to pay for a new rear end rebuild at a different shop that was not affiliated with Dodge. Since then I have had other issues. I have replaced both front hubs. I have had to have the right side manifold fixed. And most recently I replaced a CV axle. While replacing the CV axle I found the shaft within the CV axle was snapped in half. I only use for wheel drive when needed and I keep the maintenance on my truck very well. I operate the 4-wheel drive regular to keep the parts moving and make sure it's working. I am now looking at a completely new front end differential. I am very dissatisfied with Dodge's service. I am a military member due to move this week and now I have no vehicle and a wife and two daughters. I don't expect anything to be done about this truck and its issues being that it's almost 10 years old but take my advice - do not buy a Dodge. I am not the only one that has had problems. They are complete money pits especially once your warranty runs out and Dodge does not want to take responsibility for mistakes that were made at the factory and by supposed certified Dodge mechanics thereafter.

On 07/07/14 I bought a 09 Ram truck from Island Chrysler in Pawleys Island SC. It only had 37233 miles on it. It came with a 90-day power train warranty. On the FIRST day I informed the dealership about an engine issue. I took the truck back for service the next business day. They checked it out and said it was fine. It only got worse. The engine loses power and smoke pours out the tailpipe. I took it back on 08/20/14 again no resolution. To date it has happened 15 times. I have put 3000 miles on it and it has used over 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. I have changed the oil twice. I called Chrysler and they have given me the runaround. I am disabled and can not afford to fix this. HELP.

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 8L V10 - Worn out front end completely (and professionally), replaced it in 2012 due to the alarmingly random wandering. The truck would never steer in a straight line and a turning involved a hard clunk ending in a wild direction change. $1200, couple of years and a few thousand kilometers later it's the getting to be the same.

I have a 2014 Dodge 1500 Ecodiesel. I have had the injectors rebuilt, the inner cooler replaced. Now they say the turbo boost is bad, the exhaust system had to be cleaned. I only have 50,000 miles on it. Chrysler says they are working with the dealership to resolve the problem. I have had my truck for about 8 days in April. It's in the shop now with no idea when it will be done.

First I must say that I have had a lot of warranty work done to this vehicle already and that in itself is depression. The brakes however have been a problem since I purchased the truck. Since the first 100 miles I started seeing brake dust build up on my chrome rims. At 30 thousand miles I had it at the dealer for a sensor problem that was under warranty and asked them to check the brakes. I was then informed that I would need all new brake pads because there was a lot of rust on the brakes built up from not driving it as much. So the brakes were changed but the dust problem persisted. So with the price of gas going down I started using the truck more and more. (No more sitting and rusting). Now at 58 thousand miles it was in for the recall and more warranty work and I asked them to check the brakes again. It wasn't hard to detect a problem since I had a loss of power, heavy brake dust build up and when I stopped on a slight incline and put the truck in neutral it did not roll. I was informed by the service department that the arch enemy RUST was back but this time it was because of it being exposed to the harsh climate that I live in. Now I needed all 4 wheels not only brakes but calipers, rotors, pads brackets you name it I needed it replaced, because of RUST! What the dealer was going to charge me amounted to a down payment on a new truck. Although I could do the work myself I had a friend of mine who is a certified mechanic do the work for less than 1 quarter of the cost of the dealer. While doing the repairs he found that the rear axle seals were leaking and had contaminated my parking brake. So I contacted the dealer again and the seals are covered under warranty but, if you haven't already guessed the parking brakes are not.Now after reading online and talking with certified mechanics this seems to be a widespread problem with Chrysler vehicles. So should this not be addressed by the National Highway Safety Administration? Perhaps these vehicles should be recalled. Brakes are a safety concern to everyone driving on the roadways, Are they Not? These vehicles are advertised as work horses and machines that are made to tow. So why can't they stop as well. Also after having aftermarket part installed and a few hundred miles later, still no brake dust, mileage has increased by almost 4mpg and it rolls freely when in neutral.

My wife and I own two Dodge Rams. A 2003/4.7 and a 2005/5.7. Recently, the 03 lost oil pressure so I had a friend that is a mechanic trained by a Chevrolet dealer assist me in repairing my truck. We pulled the engine and took it apart to find that the oil pan was painted on the inside from the factory and the paint began to peel away plugging up the oil pickup causing the loss in oil pressure.I have built many older cars and have never had a oil pan that was painted on the inside. I am worried now that our 05 ram will have the same issue. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would paint or use some type of coating on the inside of a oil pan. We have gone to great lengths to take very good care of our trucks and this truck has just under 90,000 miles on it.The good thing out of all of this is that I use Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil along with Z-MAX and after inspection of the engine, it seems that the engine is fine. I personally took a wire wheel and got all of the paint out of the oil pan along with a new oil pump and pickup other new parts and am putting the engine back in soon.I don't know how one might get compensated for this but it would be nice! The big question is how many people have had this issue and took there truck to be repaired just to be told that it was something else and paid a lot of money. Is their any way to find out about this issue and what if any that Dodge might do to fix this? How many other makes have coated oil pans?

I bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 on 03/26/2012. The warranty has run out. The truck currently has about 60k + miles on it. The truck started making a whining noise from the rear end. I brought it to my local Dodge dealer to get it looked at. Turns out it's the rear end pinion bearing that went bad. The mechanic told me that I might be in luck and that there might be a recall on this rear end. He did some research and found out my VIN number did not match the recall. The repair that the recall calls for is the same repair they did on my truck. The pinion bearing they took out of the truck was trashed due to lack of proper lubrication, the reason for the recall. I called the RAM customer assistance office and received no assistance with this repair. This lack of lubrication condition could cause the pinion bearing to seize and cause a loss of vehicle control and or cause a crash without warning. The last sentence was pulled directly from the recall advisory that for some reason does not include my truck yet the problem I had is just like the recall. RAM really needs to get this checked out before someone is injured. If you own a 2012 Ram 1500 get it checked out. Safety Recall K36.
