Product Reviews:

Don't buy anything from this company. If your car fails, they do not cover your direct costs even though it's governed by law. They promised way too much which they can't keep up with!

Following my recent lease application for Polestar 2 with ALD Automotive I would like to share with you my not so pleasant experience. After submitting my application form with all the associated documents I had to chase for the answer/decision only to learn that my application was unsuccessful. It took me by surprise because one of the first documents that I submitted was a letter from my employer confirming a car allowance (500 per month), which would cover most of the monthly lease payment. That meant that I would be using this allowance and not my own money to pay for the lease monthly. I also had sufficient savings to cover the initial deposit payment. When I highlighted this during my phone call I was asked to submit this letter again even though it had been already sent with the initial application. After sending it again I received an email confirming that my application was still unsuccessful. The very next day I applied for a PCP loan to buy Jaguar F Pace (diesel) of the same value as Polestar 2 and surprise surprise my application was accepted within 30min with no issues whatsoever. I have now a loan of a greater value than the lease for Polestar 2 could have been. The points that I want to make it here are:- I was in a perfect financial position to make this purchase. - I wanted to switch from a combustion engine car to electric vehicle to make an impact on the environment and join a growing number of EV owners- Due to bureaucratic approach of ALD Automotive and no inclination to look into my application a bit more further this choice of leasing EV was taken away from me and now I will be driving a diesel car for further four years. How do you want people to switch and start using EVs if you are making it so difficult to apply for a simple lease? In four years time when my PCP for Jaguar F Pace is due to finish I will be considering EV again but due to this experience with ALD Automotive it won't be Polestar 2. You lost me as a customer twice. Now, when you rejected my lease application and in the future when I will be making a decision about another car again. Well done!

Extremely Frustrated!Read all the great reviews about Polestar 2 and decided to place an order when I retired in June, and was given a delivery date for October, I was like an excited kid waiting for Christmas Day, I started to organise a Charger installation, car insurance etc. and awaited Polestar contacting me with my registration and handover details, this is where my dreams and excitement started to fade, apart from a message to pay the deposit I heard nothing, right into October, then I started sending messages to ask for a date I would receive my registration and/or handover, but heard nothing ! I logged into the website every day to check for updates but 'Nothing; then I noticed the delivery date changed to November, but no explanation, and the same silence through Oct, Nov, until a week ago when they gave me a December handover date, I contacted support on chat and told them I needed the registration for insurance and for the charger installation process, but 'Nothing' (this is after I have paid the full amount !) I know the car has been in the uk for over 3 weeks as they sent me a photo of it coming off the boat in Southampton, so I asked for a quicker handover date as I had made plans to travel, but once again it was like messaging an empty address ! I started this process with joy and excitement, my first new car after working hard for 50 years, but I must say the past four and a half months have been frustrating and stressful, and have certainly taken the excitement out of my experience! I haven't seen the Polestar 2 in the flesh as yet, and it is obviously a very good car, it is just a great shame that the customer service doesn't live up to the car, I realise this is quite a new company but just a short message or quick phone call to let customers know what's happening would make a big difference!

Polestar, please please please review your Leasing team. Personally, I have no issues with your approach to ordering cars; pick a car, configure it, order it, couldn't be simpler. But when I can afford a car, but your underwriters think I can't for whatever reason and then they put me through distress for rejecting me, for now apparent reason, then fob me off like a leper, well I'm sorry, I'm not sure how you can continue to stay in business. After 2 days of dealing with ALD it's enough to put me off buying a Polestar 2. And I'm not the only one, as many others are facing the same experience. I completely understand outsourcing, but why would you use a company who has tarnished the Polestar 2 buying experience? Don't believe me? Have a look at their Trustpilot rating, it's shocking! Every disgruntled person who walks away is a lost sale, do you even care? How do you expect to compete in an increasingly competitive market with a service like this is absolutely beyond me.

After ordering a car months ago and the delivery date changing 3 times...still no car and no indication from Polestar as to when it will be with me. Communication from them is poor, its not a great start from a new car company. Makes me very nervous about having this car for the next few years...

Took delivery of a new Polestar 2 mid Dec 2021. Following 4 weeks of very happy motoring the door locks failed on the drivers door and I couldn't open the drivers door - using either the internal or external door handle.Called customer service at 8.00pm Friday night - fortunately the vehicle was at home so I wasn't stranded anywhere - and was advised our technicians don't work past 6pm and the earliest we can get to your vehicle is 9.00am. I have to leave for work 530am but my wife would be able to give access to the vehicle.930am and no technician yet arrived. Call PS Roadside Assist ( who is actually Allianz), was told the technician is running late - should be there by 11. Get a call from technician - sorry I couldn't call you but the number given to me by Allianz was a German one ( I'm in the UK). Technician has to tow the car to nearest dealership. Says I will get a courtesy car. 15 mins later get a call from Allianz - courtesy car organised, Enterprise rent a car will be in touch. So far so good - disappointed the car broke but it's new - essentially still a prototype so I was expecting some problems, but believed the strength of the service and support package advertised would keep me on the road. Then the wheels started to fall off. Phone call from Enterprise - I have received a request to provide you with a car to be delivered to your work address, but my branch closes in 6mins and I can't get there before closing time ( the nearest branch to my work is 1.5 miles away - 6 mins driving time) , so you will have to go to the airport during our opening hours to pick up a car. Explained due to my job ( emergency services, 12 hr shift) I can't leave my workplace, and the car has to be delivered to me. Mr Enterprise says - sorry can't help you this weekend, the earliest we could get you a car is 900am Monday, you better ask Allianz to arrange a different hire car company for you.Ring back Allianz - explain the story so far ( I had already told them my work situation meant I couldn't go pick up a car) - we completely understand, this is unacceptable from Enterprise, I will escalate to their area manager and find a solution for you.700pm, get to the end of my shift, had no contact from anyone. Fortunately using my wife's car so not stranded anywhere. Call Allianz on the way home. No update from Enterprise. Suggested to them they use someone else ( as Mr Enterprise recommended). Put on hold for a few minutes. Agent then advises yes that has been approved and the hire car team will be back in contact with a vehicle for you shortly. An hour later I get a call from Allianz (missed call, so voice message). Sorry we can't approve getting a alternative hire car provider, and this is your fault because you declined the car you were offered. You will have to wait until Monday. Cue very angry customer.Ring back - after a rant from me and many apologies from Allianz, get told a solution will be found tonight and we will give you a call back.No call back.Go to work 530am Sunday morning, in my wife's car. Her weekend completely wrecked now. 1100am get a call from Mr Enterprise, same guy from day before. I have a car available for you to collect from the airport. Doesn't work for same reason it didn't work yesterday. Ok, I can deliver a car to you tomorrow morning. Alright in that case delivery to my work doesn't work anymore, you need to deliver to my house (one hour away) as I'm switching from day shift to Night Shift tomorrow and need to sleep during the day before I start work at 7pm.Then delivery won't be till Tuesday then. All my long range delivery slots are full Monday.Ring back Allianz. Bring them up to date on Enterprises latest offer. Very apologetic. We'll call you back.730pm call from Allianz. I've been reviewing your case file and there are clearly a lot of mistakes that have been made - we will sort this out.Nothing further heard that night. Decided to share my story on Polestar's social media sites.900am Monday morning - Polestar has noticed my posts, now contacted by Polestar support rather than Allianz. Explain the story. Ok we will sort this for you. Get a call from Mr Enterprise - I have a car available for you to collect. No - as we discussed yesterday I need the car delivered to my house. Sorry can't do it, will tell my boss you have declined our car again.Get an update from PS late that day - you will receive a car tonight or tomorrow. Leave for work 530pm in my wife's car - no car delivered that night.Tuesday. Posted more stuff on FB. PS social media DM's me says you will get a car today. No car delivered.Wednesday. Mr Enterprise rings - can deliver you a car 1pm Thu afternoon at the earliest. Volvo dealer rings and says my car can be picked up 5pm Wed afternoon. The car cost 48k. I chose PS because of their Volvo lineage and promises on customer support. Very disappointed..

If you are wondering to buy a polestar, calculate yourself extra good time for every single miner thing to get done, even the response from them will take ages. When they finally response, they will try to run away the problem. I have waited for this vehicle for almost two years, but really consider to get rid of it

My Polestar 2 was delivery on Monday. Unlike others on here I didn't have a particular issue with the leasing process although the car was a few weeks later than expected. However the main key fob does not work.. at all. It does not drive when in the vehicle or lock / unlock the doors. The car can be driven with the sports fob but does not lock when left... so is effectively not usable. This would not have been clear when the vehicle was delivered as the delivery person had both keys in his hand.Upon reporting this to Polestar I have now been told to make an appointment with a garage to sort out myself... my time and cost (whilst also paying them for a car that I can't use)Not happy at all... I'd avoid.
