Outlook repairs
The Saturn Corporation was an American automobile manufacturer, a registered trademark established on January 7, 1985, as a subsidiary of General Motors. The company was an attempt by GM to compete directly with Japanese imports and transplants, initially in the US compact car market.
The Saturn Outlook was discontinued after the 2010 model year, so there is no 2009 Saturn Outlook. The Saturn Outlook was a midsize SUV that offered seating for up to eight passengers and shared its platform with the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and Chevrolet Traverse. It was known for its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and family-friendly features.

Product Reviews:
I went to the Saturn dealership to get my oil changed and they charged me. I bought this with the lifetime oil lube and filter included in the price. The service technician informed me that they don't honor that anymore. My question is, "Where was the letter to the owners of Saturn Ions?"The next point I would like to make is about the ignition switch. This point was brought up to the Saturn dealership as well. No response. Crappy service=GM. This is the last GM product I will own!Michael of E. Crystal Waters Dr. # 5, MI

I have an 06 Saturn Ion. Several years ago, I had my ignition locked, could not remove or turn the key. The dealer did repairs. Now the ignition problem is returning along with mystery starting problems.Janice of Miami, FL

Never been so disappointed with GM company. By looking at all the reviews look like we are having the same problems with the Saturn Vue. It should have been a recall on all transmissions which GM already knew it was a default in them but they didn't care. I have replaced everything on that Vue except for the transmission. Just happen to be at a traffic like and the truck begin to stall and jerk like it didn't want to move. It jerked all the way going at slow speed. I was able to make it home, had a friend that work on cars take a look at it. He got in, drove it up the street and it did the same thing again. When he pulled back up to my house he gave me the bad news that it was my transmission. I'm very upset and I will never purchase a GM again.Telena of Brunswick, GA

I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook. My water pump went out 2 months ago. Then one day my car started jerking... too dangerous to drive. I took it to my auto mechanic. I thought they fixed it. They said it was the throttle... replaced ($558.00). Car still not fixed. Now that I am doing my research, I see the same problems you are all experiencing. I do not have money for any major repairs! GM needs to step up as this is an obvious recall! Very dangerous to drive so it’s parked! Shame on GM for putting their consumers’ lives at risk!Lisa of Whittier, CA

My Saturn is a good car. I had not too much trouble out of my Saturn car, drive nice. I have a 134,000 miles on my car. I purchase my car from a small dealership near Me where I live. I had a 122,000 when I purchase. I had my 2007 Saturn ion 2 for 7 months. The only problems I had was the air bags on and the recall that is on the Saturn. But Saturn is a good brands. Just about every car had a problem or a recall.michael of Opelika, AL

I purchased a 2001 Saturn L series new in 2001. After only 5 years and 75,000 miles, the transmission needed to be replaced. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones (as evidenced in this thread. ) One re-built transmission later, I'm back in for yet another re-built transmission. I guess I should consider myself lucky. I got as much use out of the rebuilt, as I did the original.Third time's a charm, right? What is it about these transmissions? I should have known better than to have purchased another Saturn, considering the fact there were problems with my first one in 1995 (after only a couple of months). What was I thinking, right? Ever think some of these issues has anything to do with the fact that Saturn is no longer around?Allen of Jonesborough, TN

I have a 2004 Saturn Ion I purchased new. I am on my third try fixing the ignition. I had worked on it in August 2011, June 2012 and now. The dealership has replaced twice in two days the ignition housing, switch and other things; and it still will not work. I have been working on spending $2,000 on this issue. Twice, I could not turn the key and had it towed, and once, it would not shut off.Paula of Owensboro, KY

I bought a 2002 Saturn Ion sl2 and I've had nothing but problems. How is it that these crooks are allowed to get away with this? My ignition locked up while I was driving leaving me stranded for three hours on a busy road in 100 degree heat with no extra money for a tow truck or to get it fixed, and unable to after replacing the ignition to unlock the vehicle. I am glad that my son was not in the car with me and there was no accident as an outcome of this or GM would be hearing from my attorney. I will be getting rid of this car immediately. And the thing that irritates me the most is that NO ONE from this company cares. They care about making their money and robbing people, people like me who had to save up months to be able to purchase a vehicle hoping it would be reliable and safe to transfer my son and I from daycare, work and school. I will never purchase another vehicle through them again. Now I have to worry about how I will be repairing a vehicle I don't have money to fix and still pay my bills and find a way to work and school. Thank you so much for your poor engineering.Nicole of Milwaukee, WI

I have a 2003 Saturn Ion. I have had several of the common issues with the ignition. The not starting because of the security lock thing and having to wait 10 minutes till it resets and you SHOULD be able to start if your lucky. The key not turning and the key not releasing. I love my car and I have gotten the recall repairs done. I haven't had any problems with the car not starting anymore but then again from dealing with the issue so long I can't get out of the habit of half turning till the security light turns off then starting so who knows. Repairs did not fix the key getting stuck, still have to use the manual over ride button in the steering column. And after doing more research I now know it's the micro shifter in the gear shifter. So many people have the very same problem that GM really can't ignore the fact that something needs to be done.Jennifer of Torrance, CA

Currently, my 2004 Saturn ION 3 has 90K miles. I have made two previous repairs totaling $2500 to repair the timing chain and timing chain tension assembly, which has failed again. GM offers no help. Investigation reveals that this is a widespread problem.Thomas of Port Huron, MI
