Nissan Motor Company is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Japan. The company sells its vehicles under the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands, with in-house performance tuning products labelled Nismo.

Say the words "full-size sedan" to most drivers and their eyes glaze over with boredom, but the 2020 Nissan Maxima is a stylish and somewhat athletic offering in what is otherwise a rather dull segment. Underneath its aggressively angled sheetmetal, the Maxima boasts gutsy V-6 power and a well-tuned suspension that balances ride comfort with cornering confidence. Inside, buyers will find plenty of features even in the base S model, including touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. A standard suite of driver-assistance features will appeal to safety-conscious buyers while high-end SR and Platinum models bring even more high-end equipment and styling to the mix.

On January 15th, 2015 I met with Internet advisor of Nissan of Duarte to trade in my 2012 Prius C for 2015 Leaf thinking I was going from hybrid to electric. What was I thinking? I traded in my Prius for 2015 leaf. When I left dealership leaf wasn't fully charged I was given option of taking my Prius home and to have leaf delivered next day. I figured Leaf had enough gas to get me home and I could charge it the next day. Boy was I wrong. As I was driving approaching Burbank the gas bars kept going down which forced me to exit freeway and head to Glendale Nissan hoping I could charge vehicle... Unfortunately it is 11 pm and dealer is closed. I am stranded with brand new car alone in front of Nissan dealership. I had to contact Nissan roadside assistance to tow vehicle to my home. I got home past 2 am frustrated and exhausted I had to miss work the next day.The whole process of charging vehicle at home only works if you have your own place, if you rent like me it is simply not practical. I had to go to dealership near my home to charge vehicle daily. This car only allows you to go so many miles without requiring recharge, not worth it if it is main car in your household. 3rd day with this car and I had to call AAA again because me and my spouse were stranded at gas station after going to a theater 15 miles away from home car required charging again pathetic. On 4th day I contacted Internet representative from Nissan of Duarte and demanded something to be done. I couldn't be stuck with a lemon on a lease for 5 years and in spite of everything I was willing to do business with Nissan. I returned Nissan leaf on 1/18/15 and leased 2015 nissan altima and after having car for 4 days only I was stuck with 10000 negative equity on top of 24000 for Altima lease for 5 years. I am paying almost $600 month for an Altima and after recently contacting nissan consumer affairs I was told that nissan of Duarte followed proper procedures. Talk about complete rip off. Beware false mileage advertising of leaf and company that doesn't stand behind its products. The worse part this is 2nd vehicle purchased at this dealer but after going through depression and all stay away if you can there're better cars in the market. My ratings below pertain to Leaf.

Nissan lied to us about the extended service plan. Parts that were listed on the pamphlet they used to sell on the extended service plan were not actually covered under the plan. We have called Nissan Consumer Affairs, they don't care. Some of their representatives tell us the parts are covered, others tell us they aren't. One of their representatives told me he would accept that listed parts aren't covered, pay for them, and move on. That is what I suggest every Nissan owner should do. Move on to another car maker. Until you can get rid of your Nissan be honest when people ask if you would buy another, tell them no. Tell people you are not happy with Nissan. Explain and give examples to people of what Nissan does wrong. If Nissan won't listen, we must get everyone else to listen to us. Don't buy a Nissan.

I bought my Nissan Titan in 2017 with 100,000 bumper to warranty. Took it to Universal Nissan for my regular service 35,000 miles, and let them know we have moisture inside the headlight. They said they contact Nissan and the headlight was on order on 1/13/22. Called the Dealer and they said the headlight came in early March. Vehicle check in 3/16/22, called 4hrs later to check on the status, service advisor stated it should be ready in an one hour. In 30 minutes he called back stated that the headlight replacement was denied Nissan. They could not provide any paperwork why it is declined. They gave a case number that did not exist when I called Nissan Consumer Affairs. They finally called back 4/1/2022 stating the dealer denied the coverage not Nissan. The rep from Consumer Affairs stated that they will send a letter stating why it was denied. I bought 3 Nissans, never again.

I recently traded in my leased Nissan Altima for a used Juke at Vaden Nissan in Bluffton SC. I gave them the payoff on my Altima (through Nissan Motor Acceptance), which they confirmed. The dealership also performed an inspection on my Altima. We discussed a new deal for a used Nissan Juke. They agreed to pay off my Nissan balance, and I financed the price that we agreed to. Four months later I get a bill saying that I owe Nissan Motor Acceptance $1273. I called Nissan Motor Acceptance, and they claimed there was excessive wear and tear on the vehicle, along with an early termination fee. This Altima was in very good shape when Vaden looked at it. It was my understanding when I drove my Juke out their dealership, that we agreed to a deal which had a commitment from both sides. Now they are telling me the charges are non-negotiable. I told both Nissan Motor Acceptance and Vaden Nissan that if I would have known that I owed another $1273, there is no way I would have completed this deal. Who does business like that??? I have NEVER had a problem with Subaru or Toyota coming back to me for charges after a lease. As far as I am concerned, when we agreed to certain numbers, then I shook hands with the salesman, and then drove off the lot, the deal should be over!!! Thanks for reading!

My 2011 Nissan Rogue with 62,000 miles on it needed a new transmission. Warranty said 6 yrs or 60,000 miles. My claim was rejected with a $147.50 diagnosis fee and a price of $5,440. Do not buy any Nissan products. Can't believe Nissan headquarters. With all their money can't help out customers when they know their transmissions are all defective.

There was an issue with the transmission for this vehicle, hood. The hood of the vehicle seemed to appear loose all the time. When I would drive the vehicle the hood seemed as though it had been opened and not closed completely.

I bought a used Nissan Rogue in May 2015. I had it for 2 months when, leaving my subdivision, it began to roll backward for no reason, and I had no control over it. It nearly went into a watery ditch. I tried to dismiss it when I was able to get it started again, but I was very concerned. It had just barely not missed that ditch! Then, last night I was returning from Charleston, SC and in Columbia, SC and as there was work being done on I-26, a major highway, cars were being led in every lane VERY SLOWLY by highway patrolmen, one per lane. This meant that all cars were continuously putting on brakes every few seconds. After a few attempts to put on my brakes, I began to feel that the brakes were no longer under my control, as they weren't holding properly. The car then began to go backwards again, this in the middle of hundreds of cars and 18-wheeler trucks crawling at a snail's pace. I was terrified as I could not control the car, and I still don't know how I avoided hitting those behind me. I suppose they were just fortunate somehow to get around me. I put my foot on the brake, but that did nothing. I then pushed the emergency brake down and had to hold down that as well. I was in the center lane in all that traffic. I had lost my cell phone, so I didn't have that. I was beginning to get hysterical. I opened the driver's door (the window wouldn't roll down at that point), flailing my hands and blowing the horn. I'd already put on the emergency lights. No one helped until about 15 minutes of this, with people screaming at me. Finally a young man (God bless him!) stopped in front of me and told me he would get a highway patrolman to help. The patrolman soon arrived and told me I had to get the car removed from all the bottled traffic I was in! He then told me to put the car in neutral and then turn on the switch. In tears I told him I was afraid to take my feet off the two brakes. However, I did as he said, and the car then started forward. He told me he would hold back the mass of cars so that I could get into the slow lane. He said I would have to get back to Greenville, about 90 miles away, the best way I could. This caused me to get off onto a road in downtown Columbia, with which I wasn't at all familiar. After driving around, I stopped at a McDonald's where a worker told me how to get back on I-26. I had to drive slowly and carefully back home. This happened last night, January 13, 2016. I had previously made an appointment for January 21 to have Greer Nissan check out the car after the previous problem in my subdivision as someone there told me it may be the drive train. I had to get it to a dealership before 60, 000 miles as my extended warranty declared. When I got back home, this morning I called AAA to tow the car to the dealership as I was just 20 miles short of 60,000 miles. Well, the dealership has had it today and can find nothing wrong with it. They've "driven it several times," and "checked it out" but have come up with nothing. (REALLY?) I told them SOMETHING is terribly wrong, so they agreed to keep it until tomorrow. After reading all the previous complaints about Nissan automobiles, I know I have a lemon, and I now call it the "Death Car." I am afraid to drive it. I am a widow on a very limited income, so there's no extra money to put into that car. God, please help me!

Never lease a car from Nissan!!! I leased a car from Nissan, made all my payments, had inspection done (car was in excellent condition), I was 10,000 miles under my allowance, and they send me a bill for $420 just because I turned the car in at the end of the lease and didn't get another Nissan!!!! They say there is no way around this fee unless you get another Nissan!!! GREAT way to do business!??? I will NEVER buy or lease a Nissan again! None of this was told to me when I leased the car. I am at a loss for words.... Just wanted to pass this information along so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!!

We have a 2008 versus with a CVT-transmission that went bad at 120956 mileage. Faulkner Nissan diagnostics stated trans needed to be replaced for 3300.00. The extended warranty was for 12000 miles. We contacted Nissan to ask for partial assistance and waive the 956 miles. Our request was denied by Rachael from consumer affairs who states she makes the decisions to grant customers request or not. She stated that our vin-number was not included in the extension which is not true according to Nissan's website. Ms. Rachael wanted us to have car re-diagnosed for 100.00 knowing she had already decided to decline assistance based on the false information about the vin - number not being included.

I picked up my car on Nov 22 on Dec 1 display not functioning. Brought to dealer on Dec 3 said need new screen. On Dec 5 called saying adjusted is what is needed. Dec 8 bring in to let them do adjustment. Dec 9 display/screen does not work again. Dec 13 called to follow up, do not know when the dealer will fix this problem. Big headache, maybe I got a lemon.
