Safety & Driver Assistance.

The TRX includes several safety and convenience features:

The new 12 Inch Electronic/Radio Display System doesnt work. Unable to make hands free phone calls, or access their Uconnect on vehicle support service because there is high levels of static and very low volume. This $70,000 truck has been back to the dealer twice, within the first month of ownership. Both times, the dealer was unable to repair the problem. They claim they have been in touch with the RAM Techline, who instructed them to run an updated software download. They did it, but it did not repair the problem. I have now been told I have to wait, Possible as long as December for the next new software download. Why they think that software update will work, given they said the first software update they completed was supposed to fix the problem and it didnt. In addition to the technology problems Ive experienced, the optional hard bed cover leaks!!DONT make the same mistake I did. I owned Chevy trucks for 15 years, but decided to try a Dodge. DONT make the same mistake I did and buy this truck. Unfortunately Im one of those people RAM refers to in the advertising campaign by saying: More People Are Switching To RAM. All I can say in response to that campaign slogan is More People Are Being Disappointed With RAM!!!

We have 2 such pickups at this household and have exact same complaints. We paid over $1100.00 for a GPS/Uconnect system in these vehicles both of which are almost totally worthless. Both of these vehicles are equipped to tow Trailers and both are used to tow Rv Travel Trailers. This crappy GPS sends you on wild goose chases, back roads etc. Its not designed to be used in a tow vehicle at all but there it is and no one wants to step up to the plate and make even a small effort to fix the situation. The dealer says its a product installed at the factory which is not made by Chrysler. I say Chrysler installed it. Its their responsibility to stand behind it and make it work as its advertised to do.I recently went to Canada and it actually showed me driving through fields where no roads exist and the Rt 1 highway I was on has been there over 7 years. Driving south through Maine on Interstate 95, my destination was KOA Campground in Freeport. It told me to exit 95 43 miles before the campground which I done towing a 30-foot trailer. It then proceeded to take me on 5 different country 2 lane roads only to cross 95 two exits below where it told me to exit.Next issue, WiFi. A monthly fee of 34.99 is supposed to give WiFi service up to 150 feet from vehicle. Well that 150 feet is more truthfully 20 feet MAX and the service is so slow. The accessory timer built in the RAM (15 to 20) Minutes shuts power off before you can get connected to a website. This family actually likes both of these vehicles but the High Dollar accessories suck. We will not be buying another RAM Product Simply because of service from Chrysler sucks. The Dealer has tried a lot of things to help but I see it as their hands are tied from no support as Paul Harvey said, PAGE 2.

Purchased a 2011 dodge 1500 4x4 Laramie 5.7 Hemi new in April 2011. Get in truck just seven months later and it will not drive. No gear action. Had it towed to the dealership and day one, the tech says he doesnt know the problem. Day two, doesnt know; day three, ask me why the transmission fluid looks new. Heck, I dont know, you tell me. Day four, informs me that its the transmission pump. Its shot. In seven months? Ive been seeing a lot of transmission complaints about dodges. Makes one wonder.

On the 20th of June 2013, I took a trip to West Virginia for a family emergency (597 miles one way). I fought my truck the entire way. Whenever I came up on a bridge with an expansion joint, I just held on for the ride and wait for the wobble to cease. My truck is a 2011 Ram 3500 DRW with the Cummins VIN # **. When I left, I had 12,200 miles on it. The truck now has 13,321 miles on it. This is also causing excessive wear on the front tires. When I left West Virginia to come home on the 23rd, my front tire pressure was 70 psi. I stopped at the halfway point at a rest area after experiencing a bad death wobble. I checked the front tire pressure. It was at 75 psi (higher due to heat). I dropped the air pressure down to 65 psi in hopes to ease the death wobble. Back on the road again, it seemed to help a little. The wobble was still there, but not as serious. After another hour or so on the road, the wobble came back, and I stopped again and checked tires. Front was at 68 psi. I dropped it down to 60 psi and started driving again. This time the pressure did not help the death wobble, and thank God for traffic in the city. I was forced to drive under 20 mph through the city.I made it to the Interstate 495 (LIE), started off in heavy traffic, moving about 20 mph. Traffic started clear around exit 35-36, then I hit a bump with the right front tire and all hell broke loose. I was doing 40 mph at this time. The truck front end started to violently shake and then the rear started to bounce. I was in the center lane when this happened with traffic on all sides. I applied the brakes and tried to steer to the right. The truck continued to go straight and then started to go sideways to the left. Once my speed dropped below 5 mph is when I regained control of my truck and then pulled off at exit 37. I turned around, got on the northbound side and stopped at a Gulf gas station and called roadside assistance. This is the 23rd of June, and 45 miles away from home. I hit a bump/pothole and the truck started shaking violently. The truck went sideways in the road. This time was the worst. I was sideways in the road, in heavy traffic on the Long Island Expressway. This incident was terrifying and almost caused a serious accident. Are they (Chrysler/Ram) waiting for someone to die?I called Chrysler Roadside Assistance and they would only tow my vehicle to one of their locations, not my dealer or my house. They named a few, and since I am not from this area, I choose the one they listed in Hempstead, NY because I knew where Hempstead was. The dealer was Garden City Jeep. On 24 June 2013, I called Garden City to check on my truck. They did not look at it today. On 25 June 2013, I called Garden City to check on my truck. Service rep said mechanic took truck for test drive and everything was okay. Service rep said they will look at the front end once their lift is available. I have been without my truck since the 23rd of June 2013. I called the dealer today and he made a comment that they do not normally work on heavy duty trucks but started reviewing the problem. He made the statement that When I bottomed out, I never said that... I said no, my truck had the Death Wobble, and explained to him that I never said that I bottomed out. It is going on day 4, still without truck, and now the dealer is talking about taking it to another dealer. The reason for this is my truck will not fit on their lift. This is an ongoing problem with the Ram Trucks. Are you waiting for someone to die in an accident? I am a heart patient and you came close to having a death on your hands. This has shaken me up so much that I do not want to drive the truck home. What would have happened if I was towing my camper? Here are some of my issues: First, my truck was taken to a Chrysler Dealer that does not work on Heavy Duty Trucks. Tow truck that was set up by Chrysler Road Assistance had to swap trucks when he found out it was a 3,500 dually. This caused a delay on his arrival. Service manager said mechanic test-drove and found nothing wrong. Service manager said they checked the front end and everything looked okay. Service manager said my truck would not fit on their lift. So how did they check my truck out?On June 26, 2013 at 1400H, I called Ram Customer Asst. and spoke with Christa. She is going to have my truck taken to a dealer that is capable of working on the heavy duty trucks. I asked if she could take it back to Port Jeff. She will call me back and let me know. On June 26, 2013 at 1715H, I checked home answering machine; message from Christa (Ram Assist) said they were taking my truck to Westbury. They refused to take it back to Port Jeff where I purchased the truck. June 27, 2013 at 0800H, this is day four (4) without my truck. Chrysler Assistance originally towed my truck to a dealer that was not equipped to work on my truck. Now, I have to start over again with a new service rep. My opinion is Ram is collecting all the information with respect to the years/models, and then they will post a recall, or in my case, fix it quietly when the truck goes to the shop for the wobble. At 0930H, I tracked down the truck. It is located at Westbury Jeep Dodge. No service advisor as of now.At 0935H, service rep left a message on my home phone, not cell phone. At 1130H, I spoke with the service rep. (Lenny). He wanted to review/go over why the truck is there. He said that I bottomed out. I corrected him right away and told him the other place said the same, and that I dont know where that came from. I told him that I had the Death Wobble. He said Oh, okay, and no more questions were asked. After we talked for a few minutes, he said here is the issue... They only have one (1) mechanic authorized to work on the Cummins chassis and he has 4-5 Sprinter Vans ahead of me. I asked, How long? and he said maybe 1-2 weeks, depends on what the Vans are in for. Lenny the service rep said he would get back to me this evening or tomorrow evening with an update. At 1730H, message was left on home answering machine by the Chrysler caseworker. I returned his call, but had no luck. It went to his voicemail. On June 28, 2013 at 0752H, day 5 and no truck, and no call from Westbury Chrysler Jeep. Just to be clear, this is not Westburys fault and I am not upset with them. Lenny is working with me as best as possible. At 1130H, I went home for lunch, checked answering machine and had no messages. I called Ram Asst. and left a voicemail with Gus. Gus returned my call 10 minutes later. He stated that the dealer knows what the problem is, but are not complete with troubleshooting. Gus said he will get back to me today, and if not today then not later than Tuesday of next week. I went searching on the internet and found out that the 2011 Power Wagon had the same issue. I wonder if they have the same front end. If not, what then is in common?July 1, 2013, no truck and no word from the dealer or Ram (Gus). At 1705H, I checked home answering machine. Lenny from Westbury left message stating that the steering stabilizer was the cause. They placed one on order, should be there on the 2nd (from my previous experience, the steering stabilizer is a shock absorber mounted horizontally and is usually installed in older vehicles to prevent the wobble of loose/sloppy steering issues). Hope it works. I know these trucks come stock from the factory with the stabilizer installed. Why? On July 2nd, 2013 at 1700H, I checked home voicemail. Lenny from Westbury left message. While listening to the message, Lenny called again and I spoke to him. He said, Good news and bad news. Mechanic was test driving truck after oil change and heard a clunking sound left front. Lenny said the mechanic will put the truck on the lift once it is available again. Truck will probably be done on the 3rd of July around noontime.July 3rd, 2013 at 0730H, ten days without my truck, and it is still not repaired. According to the service rep., the problem was the steering stabilizer. I have swapped out stabilizers on other trucks/jeeps in the past. This is a bolt-on item that should take less than 1 hour to replace. What took so long to repair my truck? Why did the dealer not have stock on a common part? Why was my truck towed to a shop that was not certified/capable to work on my truck? Why has RAM not corrected this issue with a re-call? Why did I pay over $58,000 for a truck and have to put up with this type of service? I am a betting man. I will bet that when I pick up my truck (when it is finally repaired), the fuel tank will be on empty, the inside will be dirty, and the truck was not washed. At 1130H-1215H, no message from the dealer on my truck. No message from Gus at Ram Services. Dealer is not open on the 4th of July, so hopefully my truck will be ready on the 5th of July. At 1730H, I arrived home, listened to voicemail. Truck is ready to pick up. Too late in the day to pick up, so I decided to wait until the next open business day (5th of July). July 8th, 2013 0630H not a good day on July 5th. I arrived at Westbury Jeep/Chrysler around 9:00-9:30. I asked the cashier who I see about picking up my truck. She asked who my service rep is. I said Lenny (one of 5 reps). She went in the back, brought out some paperwork and said that I owed them $111 for the oil change. I paid the amount due. She then said to give my paperwork to one of the valets outside and they would bring my truck around. To give you an idea of this place, it takes up 1 block, cars/trucks are double-parked in the street, tightly packed in the yard. The valet brought my truck around and that is when I noticed the right rear bumper. There is a nice dent/paint missing. The dent is very recent. I instructed the valet to go and get my service rep (who I have never met). Lenny came out and looked at my truck. I voiced my opinion of what I thought and Lenny went inside to get his boss. Lennys boss came out, looked at it, went inside grabbed my vehicle delivery receipt and noticed that there were no dings/dents in that area, just on the tailgate which I knew about. I asked them what they were going to do about this. Their response was to come back when the body shop was open, drop off my truck for a few days, let them fix what they messed up. My wife asked if we can get a loaner car. The answer was no. My truck has been locked up by Chrysler for 12 days. The dealer replaced the steering stabilizer and dented my rear bumper. On the way home, my truck would still shimmy/wobble when I would hit a bump. Not as severe as before, but there is still an issue there. The new stabilizer dampens the problem, not fix the problem. This is probably why the stabilizer went bad at only 12,000 miles. I want my new truck fixed correctly. Once I got home, rolled down the window, stood outside the truck with the engine running, and started turning the steering wheel quickly to the left and right (just enough to move the front tires) and you can notice a jerky/sloppy motion on the tire. I am not a very happy person. I am very unhappy with Chrysler, Westbury Jeep, Lenny (Service rep). I am going to wait until Gus (Chrysler worked) shows up, then I will give him a call and say hi.At 0700H, when I picked up my truck, it had over 50 miles on it (a lot of test drives?) from when it was towed away, it was dirty inside and out, fuel tank below 1/4 tank, the old oil change sticker from the previous oil change. I crawled under the truck to see if they did in fact change the oil. Even the oil drain plug was dirty/oily from them removing the drain plug. Come on, wipe the drain plug off when you re-install the plug. This is basic mechanic stuff. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I CHANGED!? Your dealers are worried about one thing. MONEY. Not the customer. This is one of two dealers that Chrysler would tow my truck to... 1st place Garden City could not fix the problem. 2nd place only replaced a steering stabilizer and dented my truck. Problem not fixed. My truck is the Ram 3500 Dually Long Horn and looked very nice before going to one of your dealers. Just over 13,000 miles, right rear dent, and a loose front end. This truck looks and rides like a truck that has over 100,000 miles on it. NOT GOOD. At 0810H, I called Gus (caseworker), no answer, left voicemail/message and for him to call me on my cell. At 0911H, no call back from anyone. I tried sending Sergio an email... not sure of email address. At 1200H, while I was at home for lunch, I looked at my front tires. One would have assumed when Westbury Jeep was troubleshooting my truck, they would have inflated the tires to 70psi. I checked them at lunchtime and they were down to 58 psi.At 1230H, back from lunch. NO message or any calls from Chrysler. At 1315H, emails have been sent to the following personnel, which none have replied back: Sergio **, Reid **, Dave **. At 1604H, no word from anyone at Chrysler. The service manager at Westbury Jeep called and left a voicemail on the home phone and he said he was glad/appreciated my business, and just wanted to thank me for being a loyal customer. (This is a case of the left hand not talking to the right hand.) On July 9, 2013 at 0645H, no word from Chrysler. On the way to work, the truck started the wobble again. Not as severe. When it starts, it seems like it goes back towards the center of the chassis. Its like the chassis is flexing/twisting.At 0700H, follow up emails have been sent to the following personnel, which none have replied back: Sergio **, Reid **, Dave **. At 0813H, I called Gus at Chrysler and left another voicemail for him to call me back. At 0813H, I signed up on the Cummins forum. Very interesting and a lot of issues with the Death Wobble. At 1055H, after another call (800-763-8422) to Chrysler and one more attempt to speak with Gus (**), I finally spoke to Christa, explained the situation to her and she was able to connect me to Gus. Gus stated that my original case has been forwarded to another department and will be assigned a new caseworker. I asked for their phone number, but Gus did not have it, and said I would have the phone number once someone called me back. Now, I wait until another caseworker calls me.

I purchased a new 2015 RAM 3500 Dually with the 30,000 lb tow package for my business. The dealer convinced me to buy the factory extended warranty for $4,500. It was supposed to be a 4 year, unlimited Mile warranty. Between the time I purchased the truck and October 2016, I had already 3 warranty claims covered in the truck. Then in December of 2016, after av$900 tow bill, an authorized dealer informed me that my truck had a hole in the piston and cylinder wall #5 was scarred up so bad that the engine was junk. That it would be $23,840 to get my truck on the road.A Chrysler inspector came out and not only denied my warranty claim, but voided the warranty saying they had already paid out a lot of money on my truck and that they would not pay out anymore. That because I used my truck for commercial use my claim was being denied. I bought a work truck and used it for work. I battled with them and got nowhere. Then the dealer battled with them and told me yesterday that they were 90% sure that Chrysler would pay out one last time and fix my truck. Then today, the dealer said that Chrysler would not help me at all, case closed, that they will fight me in court if I get a lawyer. The manager of the dealership said he had never seen Chrysler treat somebody like this in his 18 years there.

My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.

I purchased a used ram 3500 for use on my farm and to pull my camper and haul my sxs back in Feb 2016 with 44,000 miles on it. In July 2016 took a trip to Florida and the check engine light came on. Took in when I returned home they reprogrammed the pcm. hence turned off the light. At the end of July 300 miles later I went to Tenn. The light came on again on my return home. 30 miles from home the traction control 4 wheel drive and anti lock brake lights came on. So I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday. Dropped it off at 8 am the 5th of Aug. They have put 4 or 5 parts on it all have had to be ordered. They still have the truck 3 going on 4 weeks later and the part they say it now needs is on national back order until the 6th of Sept. I have tried to get my money back as its holding me up on things I need to do. The dealer says no and Chrysler complaint dept has done nothing but follow up with the dealer occasionally calling me... saying that it doesnt qualify for a buyback. How do you sell vehicles you can keep parts for and how long is too long to have to wait? My patience are done... MY SUGGESTION IS DO NOT BUY A RAM PRODUCT CAUSE THEY DO NOT BACK THEM. Since I work with the public and go above and beyond to keep my customers satisfied, I believe this is very poor customer service.

Purchased 2019 RAM 3500 DRW Limited HD High Output Cummins with Aisin Transmission in April 2019 - one of the first deliveries of said truck. In August 2019 (approx 16k miles) Left Front Speed Sensor was replaced as it was throwing error messages - FCW system unavailable, service immediately; 4wd Temporarily unavailable, service immediately; Electronic Stabilization Control unavailable, service required; Trailer brake system service required; ABS service required.2 weeks later, same error messages, and ABS module was replaced. 2 weeks later, same error messages, dealership cleared codes and could not replicate. Went on 1600+ mile road trip. Returned home, 13 days after last visit to dealership, same error messages. As of today, dealership says cannot replicate - currently truck is on day 7 at dealership for 4th visit. Chrysler says maybe software update needed. ANYONE out there with challenges on 2019 RAM HDs? IMO, this is unacceptable. I just want it fixed.

My Ram stopped in the middle of road 3 times now. First time I took it to the dealer they replaced a cable. Second time they replaced the mpc because the water went in it. It has been raining but I cant even take it to a car wash. And now the third, the engine cut off. The dealer is telling me its the alternator and its not covered under warranty because it was muddy. The cost is approx $2000. Let me just say that when I bought the Ram for work, it was to be able to travel in a construction site. Even they advertise it going in mud, mountains etc. I am very disappointed of this truck. Seems that I wont be able to take to work anymore and leave it in the parking at home since it wont survive mud. Never going to buy a Dodge truck ever again. The 60,000$ truck is not made for construction people.

I purchased my 2007 2500 diesel truck brand new from the dealership. After 3 months, the truck was in the shop for the first of many visits. By 40,000 miles, I had replaced the batteries 3 times, driver and passenger HUB assemblies, wheel seals and 4-wheel drive. By 60,000 miles, the transmission was blown. By 80,000, a death wobble had started that is unfixable. Its in the shop every 2 months for the same fix. This truck has been a piece since the first day. I have owned nothing but heavy duty trucks for hauling livestock and ranch life. I bought this truck because I was told you can get hundreds of thousands of miles on these engines! This truck hasnt even made it to 100k and trust me, it wont either.

My husband bought me a 2011 Dodge Ram Buckhorn Edition truck for Christmas in December 2010. Six months after we purchased the truck, there was a recall notice for the rear main seal. The original dealership we bought it from (Town & Country) replaced seal. Not even a week after this was done, there was a noise from the rear end. So after 2 1/2 years and 3 dealerships and 4 caseworkers from Dodge, my truck is still sitting at dealership and Dodge Tech still not responding on what to do. Rear end was replaced (all components) except main rear end frame. Then they thought it was a leak from the exhaust system. Received 2nd recall notice in January 2013 for bolt for rear end which Dodge has not even manufactured or has available as of August 2013. Now the noise is determined that it is between rear end and transmission (drive train). Took 22 foot trailer for test drive with technician. Now Dodges technician wants them to put 400 to 500 lbs in back of truck to see what it does. Whats the point? As of last night, Dodge caseworker was going to try and contact regional tech to see why he is not responding to dealerships request for further action. Needless to say I have printed out paperwork to file a complaint with Governors office under the Lemon Law. Will be sending certified letters to corporate office today and filing my complaint. According to Georgia Lemon Law, as I read it, if a vehicle is not available for normal use and has depreciated in value, it is considered a Lemon. I say I have a lemon.

I purchased a 2016 Ram 1500 in December of 2015. I did not open the rear window until the spring of 2017. After I made that mistake it never stopped leaking. Anytime it rained (even a light drizzle) my cab would get water inside. I took it to two different dealers a total of four times. Each time they told me the drain holes were clogged and they solved the problem when they cleaned them out. Each time I took it home and sprayed it with a garden hose mimicking a light rain or washing the truck. Each time water was flooding my cab within ten seconds. I tried the corporate customer care line as I was tired of wasting time with dealerships but they were some of the most incompetent people I have ever talked to. Their response to everything was, Theres nothing we can do about that. Apparently they manufacture the truck but do not stand behind it as far as poor quality and customer service is concerned.

Ive owned 5 Dodge Ram... 3 3500 hundred. And 2 1500 hundreds - the first one went through brake shoes every 7000 miles... Dodge would never admit there was a problem. My current Dodge Ram 3500 is a 2013 Laramie. I had 7 recalls on it. The last recall they dont even have a part for. I drive 80 miles round trip to have this taken care of. Thats money out of my pocket for their screw up... I will never buy another one.

I bought a new 2012 Ram Quad cab with the hemi in April of 2012. About the time I hit 7,000 miles on the truck, I developed a nasty vibration in the truck once you leveled out the speed at around 50 MPH. Being a Mechanic for a living, I started to pay attention to this vibration and accelerated to see if I could drive out of the vibration to which I was able to. This vibration was not there all of the time. It would come and go and had a mind of its own. My wife and I went for a nice drive one day. And on our way back we were in a 30 MPH zone, leveled out speed, the truck jolted forward 2 times in about 500 feet of driving without me hitting the accelerator. At that time, I decided to make an appointment to drop the truck off at the dealer to get it checked out. When I went in to the dealership to look at vehicles for my wife, I went in to set the appointment up and spoke with the Service Manager. I started to explain to him what the truck was doing. And he knew exactly what it was doing and cut me off and told me to drive the truck and level out the speed - when it starts to vibrate, hit the tow-haul button and see if it stops vibrating. He told me that they have this complaint frequently. I did what he had asked of me to do, and it helped the problem, but did not totally get rid of the vibration. So I took the truck in and dropped it off. I told them to drive the truck to see what I was talking about and a service tech wanted to drive the truck with me. So we went for a drive and he was driving the truck. We got onto a smooth fresh paved road and sure enough, he verified the complaint. We drove back to the dealership and pulled the truck into his bay. He hooked up the computer/scanner to check for flashes (updates). To my surprise, there were several, and he said he would flash the truck and drive it again to see if one of them would cure the vibration. When we got back from sons basic training in Georgia, I went to pick up the truck. They said it was done and the flashes took care of the vibration. I got in the truck and drove away and BAM, vibration still there. So I called them again and talked to them. The Service manager stated that it was normal for this truck to do this, that he could take me to the lot and put me in any brand new RAM and it would do the same thing. I was not going for this stupidity, so I contacted Ram brand and told them of the problem. They assigned me a case manager (A Woman who sits behind a computer). I received a call from her and she told me she would contact the dealer and get back to me after she verified my complaint. When she finally called me back, she told me that they wanted to send out a district tech advisor to drive the truck. After this was done, the tech advisor reported that it was as per design and was totally normal and will not hurt anything and needs no repair at this time. I have made several calls to the case manager to no avail. The service manager actually told me that he felt 2 separate vibrations but they could not do anything without the approval of Chrysler LLCs approval, because they do not know what is causing the problem. The case manager tells me that the service manager says the truck is fine. They played me the entire time, then they tell me I have 3 choices - live with it, trade truck in for new truck and pay the difference or take to another dealer. I took to another dealer and dropped it off with them. They verified the vibration and did some serious investigating and said that they believe it is related with the torque converter but cannot do anything as of yet until it gets worse. We purchased a travel trailer in June which weighs 6,400 LBS. This truck has shifting issues when pulling this camper, and at times when shifting into final gear, it slams/clunks and shifts very hard. So now here I sit, 21,000 miles on the truck and still nothing done about it. Did a Google search on this complaint and my oh my, the complaints of this exact issue and yet nothing gets done about it. Before this problem became so severe, and I figured Chrysler would take care of this, we purchased a brand new 2012 Journey Crew fully loaded and 2 brand new 2012 Avengers for the kids, and this is how they treat us… My brother in law has the exact same truck and does not have this problem at all, yet they say it is as per design... HMMM.

I purchased a new Ram 2500 with a 6.4 liter V8. Truck is WAY overrated. First trans was replaced at 1700 miles. Still didnt shift correctly. I also had alignment issues. Long story short the rear end was crooked causing severe driveability concerns and severe over steering problems FCA could not and did not repair. This package is complete garbage. Stay away from the 6.4. My opinion is max tow capacity for that engine should be around 8500 lbs. This truck was eventually arbitrated and bought back from me with no help from FCA with only 4500 miles. LOST CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!! I was a loyal Dodge customer since 2010 having spent over $240,000 on their vehicles. I now own a new F250. Great job guys!!

The newer trucks are made very cheaply you end up with lots of problems unless you get an extended warranty when you first purchase a vehicle. A ton of recalls. Overall my Dodge Ram is not equipped to handle a great deal of payload compared to other pickup truck. In order to get this repaired it takes a lot of money and its very difficult to get anyone to work on them unless its the dealership and theyre very expensive. A change of oil on this pickup truck cost you $56 at a dealership and thats in Sumter South Carolina versus $26 for a Chevy truck and $32 for a Ford.

Purchased vehicle at dealership, good mileage, good condition in 11/2011 for $32,000+. We have always provided good maintenance to all of our vehicles. In 01/2015 due to an engine warning light, vehicle taken to dealership immediately. Thereafter, vehicle repeatedly taken for same problem. 3 months later and without a vehicle were told manufacturer was involved to solve the problem. Few weeks later case manager indicated unable to correct mechanical problem and stated as matter of fact, the vehicle was already old. We have vehicles older and still running good. How is it possible that the manufacturer is unable to provide technical assistance to their own dealership. Every time the dealership would call us to pick up the truck, we paid the bill and within 24 hours and on occasion, we could not even drive the vehicle out. After going back and forth, putting a lot of personal time to it, we sent a letter explaining our frustration, the poor customer care response, asking for a refund due to their lack of resolving the problems and finally sent a letter to their office in Auburn Hills, MI. We finally got a response on 03/2016 stating After thoroughly reviewing your request and our files on this matter, we respectfully concur with our previous decision. I am not sure which decision they are referring to. Someone within the manufacturer technical assistance failed to solve our problem. If they cannot, who else can? We feel we should be paid for a product Chrysler Dodge Ram could not fix. My hard earned money cannot be a loss. I sincerely feel victimized by big corporate.

We installed both a front and rear bumper replacement on a 2016 Dodge Ram. During the process we removed the sensors in the factory bumpers and reinstalled them in the aftermarket bumpers. The sensors failed to come back on so we sent it to the Dodge dealership for re-calibration. They discovered that six of the sensors had failed. The total bill will be just under $1000. How is it that these sensors are so sensitive that they cannot stand such a simple process as removal and re-installation? If these sensors are really this sensitive, they must be a faulty design and should be recalled.

2015 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually. I really wanted to love this truck. I was coming from a Ford 6.0 let down, really loved the truck. Had I done a hair more work I would still have the truck. First, the alignment was bad from the day I drove it off the lot. Seemed fine but the front tires were bald, thread showing, by 35K. Replaced 2 front tires and Hogan Tire shop in Purcellville, VA told me they couldnt align the truck because a ball joint was bad. Furious, I took it to the Dodge dealer and they told me joints were all fine and measuring basically new. Oh, BTW, chose your dealer carefully. The dealer in NOVA cant align a big truck like this because his rack is too small, I was still within warranty for this. 10 hours+, not an exaggeration, of my time to determine the truck was fine and still needed an alignment. I use this heavy duty truck everyday and tow more than three times a week. 10 hours of down time kills me. I never aligned it, totally my fault. Truck was pulling like mad to the right. I have a seriously strong left arm from it. I have new tires and feel like I can ignore, 14K only a couple months in busy truck time, I realize the front right is really wearing badly. WTF, truck less than 50K and serious pull to the right and worn tires on the front, rear are still good. Take to local mech and he aligns, tightens it all.Less than a week later I notice the steering wheel is out of alignment. Each day I drive it is a little more out. I am hauling round bales and finally lose my ** with the steering, over 90 out. I take back to my alignment dudes and they say the lock nuts have backed off. Its a lock nut? What? Well Dodge has 2 nuts that are tightened against each other, not a lock nut, and one backed off. They small shop fixed and I trust the fix since we are over 2 weeks and steering has been rockstar since.Other things, I have had a check engine light since the mid 30K range. No ** the manual says the light will probably resolve itself in a few runs and should do that. Sure as ** that was the case. What they didnt say was that the problems were compounding. Truck was great except there were times we backed into the driveway and the exhaust was terrible, in town we had the same thing since we drive windows down a lot. Absolutely intolerable exhaust smell. We are coming from a 2005 Diesel that was pimped and the smell was appropriate.51K, and now I have a DEF malfunction. I drive this truck everyday. Put only the DEF in it from the store and the pretty plastic containers. I only have 125 miles to drive before it ** down? I have done everything right and this is what my over 50k in American dollars gets me? Oh, and the exhaust warranty is very specific. Dont think you get 8/80K, there are terms.

I have owned 3 2001 Dodge Ram quad cabs. I purchased the 3 red one due to an accident in the 2nd one which totalled my truck. It saved my life. However, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the dashes cracking and Dodges refusal to do a recall. I guess they wont because they would be recalling everyone still operable which would be extremely costly. The dash on the totalled one was completely caved in when I purchased it in 2006. I had to buy a dash mat. The 3rd truck which I still own was just starting to crack in 2010 at the time of purchase. I believe the mat has helped it last longer. It continues to crack.I think they could offer owners a monetary settlement which might satisfy their gross manufacturing negligence and the owners having to deal with it on a daily basis. I have other issues with my current truck but believe they are from normal use and factors not necessarily related to Dodges negligence. Overall it is a well built safe vehicle.

I have a 2012 Dodge RAM 5.7 Hemi with a #5 misfire problem. The problem was reported to the dealership at the last oil change, but all they did was reset the fault code and returned the vehicle to service, exclaiming they could not duplicate the problem. Took it in last week and informed them of my concerns. Two days ago, received a call from the Tech Representative requesting permission to accomplish a complete tuneup, i.e. spark plugs, possible bad coil pack, and to perform a fuel system clean and flush. Aghast, I responded that this was a complete waste of time! On top of that, the service departments wants $775.00 dollars just for a tuneup. Obviously I think they are trying to find ways to make normal servicing so expensive that I would either choose to take my truck back and fix it myself (which voids the warranty), or to pay them a hell of a lot of money to do something that would only take about 1.5 hours. This is so they could pay the techs and the Reps labor for completing a warranty replacement, should it come down to that.I already know what is wrong with the engine. #5 (and sometimes, 1, and 3 cylinders) have a history of failing due to faulty valve seat design. The hemi heads utilized pressed-in valve seats that are powder coated from Mexico (theres problem number 1), and these rings eventually work themselves out of the valve ports, mostly the exhaust side, but sometimes the intake side. As the seats back out, but doesnt completely fall out, compression is lost although not entirely gone. This explains why some of the misfiring only happens at 3/4 to WOT responses. In severe cases, the seats come out complete resulting in destroying the piston, the heads, and possibly the timing chain if enough forced impact occurs.I have 4,000 miles left on the warranty, and it is quite clear that the dealership in Sumter South Carolina is trying to throw the vehicle back at me without actually repairing my truck. And if the tune-up doesnt solve the problem, they will have constituted SOME labor expenses from the most expensive tune-up in recorded history! $95 diagnostic charge, and nearly $700 bucks for a tuneup for no more than 1 to 2 hours of work! What ticks me off is how Chrysler has continued to engage in mafia style treatment in forcing consumers to buy their crap, con them into buying the extended warranty, and yet refuse to honor the warranty when circumstances are warranted. How in the name of God are these people allowed to continue bamboozling the American people?I have been screwed twice before from Dodge! My 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.4 liter lost a head gasket at 48,000 miles. Repairs were at my own expensive at about $650 bucks. A year later, the gasket failed again, only this time resulting in a seized engine! I next bought a 2002 Stratus R/T with the worthless 2.7 liter engine. This engine lost a water pump at 89,000 miles. But because the pump is internal, and a special tool is required to depressurize the timing chain tension pump, I was left with paying Chrysler some $900 dollars in repairs. 8 months later, it failed again only this time destroying the engine! Now my 2012 RAM may need an engine replacement, and at best, the dealership will choose a Jasper engine which are nothing but crap! Total crap! And thats even if the dealership doesnt try backing the truck back at me with a continued problem! The solution folks? DO NOT BUY DODGE! And ignore some of the online trolls telling you they have over 300,000 miles and counting on their trucks and cars. Some (if not all) of those people are paid trolls to defend Chryslers worthless piles of junk! The 5.9 engines were not that bad. Sure they were under-powered compared to the Hemis, but very rarely did any 5.9 engines fail except under vehicle maintenance neglect. There is absolutely no reason why my 2012 Dodge RAM truck should have a worn camshaft, worn lifter roller, faulty valve-seat rings, and all leading to misfiring of cylinder 5 with under 100,000 miles accumulated!Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me! Fool me thrice, then double shame on me! I swear to Chrysler that I will never buy another Dodge vehicle ever again! Moreover, I will ensure that no future customers are fooled into buying your pieces of crap! Facebook, Youtube, online forms will be filled with my rants! And trust me! Ive personally seen three people in my town with this very same problem, 2 of which had theirs repaired under warranty, but the other screwed. Looks like I am next!

While picking up the 2007 Ram, I found water under the back seats. The sales representative assured me it was due to the cleaning and washing of the truck, and if this was a window leak, the dealer will service it. It rained last night, and I found plenty of water under the seats. Now the dealer sale representative and manager denied seeing and saying that the dealer would be responsible for the leakage. I need the rear window to be repaired; the rain or water is affecting the structural integrity of the car due to corrosion. Needless to say, the mildew and smell inside the car is not acceptable. If I would have been aware of this issue, I would have never bought the truck.

This 2015 Ram makes the third new Ram for me. That being said the third was not the charm. My first was a 2006 Ram 2500 which was a good truck. A lot of recalls but all in all good truck traded with 50,000 miles. Second one was a 2011 3500 mega cab. Dual climate control was out when I drove it off the lot. 10 to 12 mpg which was bad. Third brake light and sun roof leaked, dash rattled 24/7 and 4wd would not work half the time. Really disappointed in that truck traded with 19,000 miles. So I bought my third truck which is the 2015 ram 2500. This truck is so weak Id rather pull with a 1500 and the transmission slips for the first 1/8 mile in morning. Truck now has 9000 miles. So in my opinion Im done with Ram trucks. As soon as I can trade this truck its gone. Take this review how you like. This is just my experience with Ram trucks.

I purchased a 2011 Dodge mega cab 4x4 longhorn edition dually last year ($54,000) because I owned a 2006 same truck and it was great to me. This 2011 has been a big headache. It has a horrible vibration and a loud clunking noise when you let off gas or give it gas. It is doing this since day one. I am back and forth to dealer, till I filed for lemon law. Florida only covers vehicle up to 10,000 GVW and the truck is rated for 10,500. Bunch of bull crap. I had to file a lawsuit and I am in the process now. The court date is not until Sept 2012, so I will have owned truck for over a year and a half. On top of it all the truck gets horrible gas mileage compared to my 2006 almost half. My 2006 would get around 19 on highway and the 2011 gets 10. What a joke Dodge is. I will never buy another one after these problems with customer service and Dodge. I have read on several forums that people are having this same problem and have been getting the same run around. If there is anyone who would like to file another class action suit get in touch with me.

My Dodge Ram had 500000 miles on it when I got rid of it. No disappointments. I never replaced 1 injector, normal wear and tear. It went through brakes. Other than that, it was a great truck. All truck makers have little quirks, lights that burn out, front and back. Some switches, electrical.

Having multiple issues. Front struts are bad at 7000 miles. They tell me theyre not. They agree that the transmission isnt shifting correctly but no codes no fix. Phantom antifreeze smell with no loss of coolant. 2000 miles into an oil change and checked the oil and it says add. Bucking on the highway with no solution found. Leased truck to purchase and now Im going to wind up losing my down payment because I cant drive a truck or put my kids in a truck thats this dangerously unreliable. Bought a 2013 Dodge Ram. At 122000 Mi started to get a lifter tick in it. Took it to the dealer, was told for the amount of $9,000 I needed to replace the engine. Apparently Chrysler released a service bulletins with this very problem Im here. I have been a loyal Dodge owner for 30 years but to be left out here hanging on here and basically told too bad your $50,000 truck is a piece of junk is disappointing at best. I will never buy a Dodge product ever again.

I drive a 2001 Dodge Ram, 2WD, 5.9L Magnum V8, 46RE 4-speed auto, my father was the first owner, and I can say for either of us, the experience has been nothing but great. Ive put around 15,000 miles on it myself, and the total mileage is 122k miles just about now. The dealerships have been very trustworthy and capable when my dad owned it. I personally have done all repairs myself though since I started driving it. Reliability? Pretty good.Back when I was around 10 years old and my dad drove it, it was a snowy cold day and my dad somehow got the dumb idea to drive it up the neighborhood hill to check on us while we were sledding. He got stuck, obviously, and had my mother give it some gas while trying to push it. My mother decided give it gas meant just hammer the pedal to the floor, and she redlined it for a solid ten seconds while my dad was yelling to stop. The engine was bone cold when this happened and it snapped a valve spring. Im sure most people on here would blame Dodge for that, but thats just plain stupidity that caused it. Thankfully the valve didnt fall into the cylinder and the repair was simple. At around 90k miles the torque converter failed, but didnt take the rest of the transmission with it so that was good.I have a friend who works for Chrysler and he told me that they had a problem with some sneaky workers throwing bits of trash in the torque converters during assembly to sabotage them, and it took quite a long time for them to figure out who was doing it. I found this pretty interesting. When I started driving it (105k miles), I changed out the shocks which made it drive wonderfully, and the ball joints were worn out, one of them started getting noisy, so I replaced all four of them. Chrysler somehow thought it was a good idea to rivet them to the control arms, which made replacing them awful. I sat in my driveway with a drill and angle grinder removing 14 rivets, and it was quite a nightmare. The heater core started leaking, which really can happen on anything, so I replaced it and also replaced the totally cracked and fallen apart dash pad (huge problem on these 2nd gens). I decided I wanted to install a shift kit in the transmission, so I did that and saw there was quite a bit of friction material in the pan. The front band was pretty worn out, and judging by the gunk I saw in the pan, it was about time for a full rebuild of the transmission. I started preparing to do that and one school morning I shifted it into reverse, and had to give it a TON of gas to get out of the driveway. When I got home that day I had no reverse so I knew it was time (did the rebuild at 120k miles).During the rebuild, my findings were that the clutch packs looked pretty great for the mileage, and the loss of reverse was due to the rear servo cracking. Id imagine this was caused by the increase of line pressure by the shift kit, but rear servo failures in 46REs arent unheard of in totally stock circumstances, so who knows. The failure of the rear servo caused the servo pin to stick open, cinching the rear band down extremely tight and shredding the friction material. This also ruined the rear drum. The front band was indeed worn out, and if it had run any longer it would have destroyed the front drum in a few thousand miles.I completed the rebuild for about $1000, however if I had used OEM spec parts it would have cost me around $400 to bulletproof it. The parts I used are for extreme horsepower and drag racing situations, and the transmission is good for around 800hp now. It shifts extremely quick now and this truck is a total blast to drive. If youre looking at a 1994-2001 Dodge Ram, what I can tell you is that the engines are incredibly reliable and have ton of low end power, the transmissions are very well designed and easy to work on while having some easily fixable weak points, the dash pads WILL crack if they havent already, the frame is incredibly strong, and the truck is a good solid truck that will last you for many years and many miles if you take good care of it. 5 stars!

When we purchased our 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 it was during the promotion for the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. The stipulation was that it has to be taken to the dealer every 5 years for a check up or the warranty is voided. We took it in December 2012 and again in August 2018. We felt that since December 2018 is 6 years that we still had the warranty. We were informed by Dodge that they do not have to notify us of either an impending expiration or that we needed to return for the 5 year check up. Since it hasnt been a full 6 years after we were hoping to get the warrant reinstated, at the dealers direction. We are having a terrible time getting a resolution from anyone at Dodge. We have purchased a total of 5 vehicles from Chrysler over the last 12 years and were hoping they would consider a long time customer.

Had an 03 Ram 1500 QC, never one issue. Not one. We bought an RV to haul behind it and 4.7 V8 struggled a bit, so we bought an 08 RAM 1500 QC with HEMI, much more power. Again NO issues other than the wiper motor being recalled... replaced while still working fine and the NEW one failed. Other than that, great truck. Just bought a new 14 RAM HEMI QC Lone Star nice, modern options, extremely comfortable, 8 speed, 8 inch radio display and 7 inch cluster display. Very nice.Bought a bigger RV (30 footer) pulls great, integrated trailer brake works excellent. Great truck, best I have ever owned. Why am I having such good luck? I am hard on trucks, they are designed to be tough and reliable and mine always are. I have friends who have bought RAMs and they too have great success, so WTH is going on? Love my RAM.

The vehicle has had vibration in the front end. Since purchase I had to replace the ball joints at 38,000 miles. Front end tire wear has forced premature purchase of tires. Def fuel problems have delayed travel plans twice. From my research I believe the front end issues should be a recall item. Mine is an extended cab and has plenty of leg room. Its a great all around truck. Its got the horsepower to get any job done and big enough for the whole family. The suspension on my year model wasnt too great but the manufacturer has really improved it in the newer models over the years.

My 2006 2500 diesel with the 48RE tranny just didnt do the job. I have three valve bodies replaced in less than 75K miles. Also that little vent that shifted the heater and ac broke. Over $500 to repair. I paid for the first repair. Then it happened again. FCA was kind enough to fix again. I guess they finally got a fix that was not crapping out and fixed right.2014 3500 diesel SRW was a great truck. Towed my 40 toy hauler from Virginia to Cali. However, I did lose a water pump in Arizona. Would you believe no pump, belt or other parts that got jacked up when best broke lose, 36K miles, were not available in the ENTIRE state of Arizona? Wow. 2017 3500 dually diesel Aisin is a beast. No issues so far 21K miles. However, the Nexen tires have been replaced. Tire separation in less than 20K miles. Why does Ram put crap tires on a truck that cost up to 90K? Installed Bridgestones. Lets see how they hold up. Changed radio to Kenwood. Android Auto works perfect in this aftermarket radio. It also works perfect in my 2018 A4. Android Auto is a great app to use in any vehicle. Learn how to use it to drive safely.

First off NEVER buy a new Dodge truck!! We bought a brand new 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW... Only having 147 miles on it at 3,000 miles truck went in to the shop for over a month to have tail gate and hood re-painted from having blemished paint from the shipping! At the time of getting re-painted the truck was out of line and pulling terribly to the right... Having electrical issues and squealing brakes! Again at 10,000 miles pulling strongly again to the right we take it back in and get aligned... Right after leaving the dealership the steering leakage comes apart while my wife was driving down the interstate... Went in the shop again for a few weeks... This truck has been through 3 sets of tires and it only has 36,000 miles on it...Since buying this truck it has literally been in the shop every two months the last time which was last week it spent 1 month and 1 week in the shop with the front end coming apart once again in the truck!! We pick it up this week and its shaking so bad its hard to drive and the passenger back ceiling is leaking from the rain!! The truck is covered in ants inside and out they are coming out the vents and steering column!! Called to report our problems once again to Hoover Dodge Jeep and Ram in Summerville, SC only to be treated like a piece of trash!! We are hardly getting to drive the truck because its constantly in the shop but yet the payments are due every single month on time!! So over this company and the dealership!! DO NOT BUY A NEW DODGE!!! Take our advice and just about everyone on this page that is complaining!! This company has went to hell very quickly.

In late June my vehicle was in a car accident. The vehicle went in to our local Auto Nation Collision Center for repair in Winter Garden, Fl. Unfortunately they have not been able to complete my repair due to the extreme back order on the part. I own a 2007 Dodge Ram Laramie and the clockspring has been on back order since at least July. Chrysler has only been able to give me a release date they acquired from my repair shop. I called them to submit a complaint and their method of verifying the information was calling my repair shop. I felt that by calling the direct manufacturer Mopar Chrysler they would provide me with a solution. Instead they cannot confirm when parts are going to be available since there are so many request ahead of me, 186 to be exact. They further explained there could be a wait for over 18 months. Until then I have no vehicle, and it is my burden to carry because there was a repair needed where a part is not available. I asked for rental car options and they declined any type of remediation. I understand that we are responsible for repairs as a consumer, but when there is not even an option to complete a repair what am I left to do? Its been 6 months, and now I am definitely out of patience. I am extremely disappointed in Chrysler Ram at this time. I have been a loyal customer with 4 vehicles purchased from the brand in the past 10 years. Not what I expected from a national US automotive company.

I purchased my Ram 3500 2014 from Scottsdale Airpark ram in Arizona. This dealership will not help me with any of the below issues. Chrysler, paid a tech to do a ride along, and the tech seen all the below issues, but the computer said the truck was fine. Well it is NOT fine. This is the biggest piece of ** on the road. Please read #15. Very important. 1) The exhaust break does NOT work. 2) There is no power from the turbo. I cant even tow my 10,000 lb toy hauler up a hill. On my way to Flagstaff a 1973 40 Winnebago passed me. WTF! 3) Passenger rear light out, still shows up on screen. Airpark ram cant fix this. 4) Passenger light on step is now out. It was working when I dropped it off on 12-3-14. 5) Steering wheel is still sloppy. There is too much play. This is the fifth time they tightened it. 6) There is masking tape residue on the passenger side, after the windshield was removed at Airpark, to install the new ceiling. 7) Still no stopping power from truck breaks when trailer is hooked up. 8) Replace ceiling. Bill has it ordered. Never installed after a month and a half. 9) Tires are bald. Bill has an email to Coy. Waiting on response. Response was Not our problem. 10) There still is loud eerie creaking noises coming from truck, when in off position. 11) The horn sometimes sounds weak. You can hardly hear it. 12) Still no power and lag when towing a trailer. 13) The truck auto starts on its own. 14) The truck will not let you in sometimes when using the remote.15) BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!! The truck will go into full acceleration when you are driving. It has almost KILLED me, and others when this happens.I would like to start a class action lawsuit. Please call if you have the same issues.

I had a great experience when I owned my Dodge Ram. The truck was very nice as far as inward and outward appearances, and it was sporty enough for a casual day, for a baseball cap and jeans, and classy enough for a Sunday afternoon tie and shirt day. The gas mileage was much better than I thought and the ride was extremely comfortable. There was plenty of leg space and the engine was as quiet as a mouse. If I ever get to the point when I can afford to purchase another Ram, I would do it in a heartbeat, with no hesitation.

I own a 1500 Ram Big Horn which was purchased new from Five Star Dodge Warner Robins. When I purchased the Ram I was told I was entitled to oil changes from Ram and 1 oil change from the dealership. Due to the low mileage on this vehicle I didnt need the service frequently and wasnt told by the dealership that there was a time limit in which this had to be done. Unfortunately on 7-5-18 I had service done which would have been the fourth oil service on the Ram Truck and was charged $36.13. I called consumer affairs and was told that service agreement wouldnt be honored due to the length of time and again I stated that the dealership made no statement when purchasing the Ram Truck about a time limit to the service agreement. I also purchase a 2016 Ram Truck Big Horn 4x4 from the same dealership which more mileage was put on this vehicle due to it involved being destine as a work vehicle and all oil changes were honored. I usually buy/purchase vehicle every 4 years and have considered buying another Ram Big Horn but feel that if I am going to be penalized for not driving and taking care of my purchase and the Ram company isnt going to honor an agreement due to time then I should seek other types of truck makers. I regret that for $36.13 that a company like Ram would want to lose a valued customer. This can be easily resolved by honoring an oil change at one of your facilities with a coupon. Please understand I feel at this time that if Ram will not honor this then will Ram honor their other warranties/services. Thank you and hope to be able to continue to do business in the near future.

Purchased this 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4 x 4 new and have maintained this vehicle as if it were new the entire time. Serviced reg, kept in garage, never wrecked, NOT in a salt air environment and looks brand new on the inside. Noticed that the paint was coming off on the cab and is degenerating other places. Took it to a body shop to have a quote on painting. Come to find out, Dodge admitted that the paint on this year’s truck was defective & had no clear coat. Contacted Dodge through letters to corporate. There is nothing wrong with the truck except that Dodges paint was defective. As was told to them - there is a very little trade in value due to the paint being defective. Dodge also stated that the paint company has warranties that have nothing to do with Dodge so it would be my responsibility to correct their mistake. Their solution was to give me up to a 4% discount (off the sticker price) on a new truck or would work on a trade in which equals out to approximately $2,000 +/- either way. Dodge also stated that most people dont keep trucks that long. Wow, Dodge needs to spend the money to fix what they knew was wrong to begin with. Pictures are available!

I recently purchased a new 4x4 Ram pickup (2 months 11,000 miles). This is my 12th 4x4 and while a Ford man - (8) I have had a Toyota, Nissan, and 2 GMC. I am often off road hunting and fishing and getting where I am going. I am 45 and do not recreationally hot dog in the mud, but I typically drive them until they are DONE (this is my 4th new) the rest have been purchased with 100,000 - 150,000 miles and driven well into the 200s. Dont get me wrong, I am rough on them.My new Dodge lost transmission fluid. After pouring through the manual and under the hood, I found no dipstick to check the fluid nor any place to put it (5 miles from the nearest paved road). Called my dealer, and he said not to worry, call Roadside - everything is under warranty. $189 later it was towed to the dealer only to find a pinhole crack in an exposed PLASTIC transmission oil pan. Plastic? Exposed? On the underbelly of a 4x4? Really. To not just bash, I must say the customer service and Buying Experience at JTs Dodgeland of Columbia was exceptional and being my first Dodge, I love it - but exposed plastic underneath a 4x4 is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I have taken trucks where they should never go, run over trees, been yanked off of stumps, and so on. This Dodge had obviously had a stick of some sort kick up and hit the oil pan, which being PLASTIC allowed a hole to be punctured. It has yet to see any REAL tight spots. So I have paid 189 not covered and the bill to replace the plastic little pan and recalibrate the computer is $960. Had I poked a hole in something metal, I would chalk it up to cost of doing business. If Dodge wants to compete in the market for folks that really need 4x4, then get rid of, or use a skid plate to protect these fragile parts. We dont get much snow in SC, but we got plenty of mud, sticks, stumps, etc... After looking, a rock off the Interstate at 70mph could puncture (the 5.7 Hemi 8 speed is by far the smoothest, most fuel efficient truck I have ever had and is an absolute rocket) - the tiptronic (sp) transmission is BAD as well.

I purchased a Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. And I love this truck. It rides smooth. This truck is great for on and off road. This truck gets up and goes no hesitation. But I would make the dodge level. I dont like the fact that the front of the truck is approx 2 inches lower than the back suspension. I also would maybe put a nicer rim on this vehicle. Also the steering box should be changed in this vehicle. They have been known to cause issues like the death wobble. The slider also needs to be reinforced and a sturdier lock should be used. But I love the body style and comfort of the interior. And the overall appearance and performance of this vehicle. I love the engine sizes you can choose for your lifestyle. Dodge is a very reliable truck. And I chose this vehicle due to reputation of Dodge Ram Tough. Ive never had any problems with it.

I have already stated before about our exhaust filter issues (PDF). Thats been a journey. The truck still does not regenerate. Now, I wanted to note how dirty Chrysler plays their role. We were in a gravel drive to discover we needed our 4 wheel drive because they had some good gravel in drive. For us to discover the transfer case was out. Our 2015 5500 truck stayed in the shop for 31 days. I asked for a little help on downtime and Chrysler fights that they even go into my fb page to copy pics and any sayings I had posted to go up against me. Ok, now, were dealing with a shortage in the truck. And also at night LOTS of dampness and moisture gets in the truck. Our things inside even gets wet. We get sick. If you purchase a Dodge vehicle you are stuck with all issues. We never was offered extended warranty. I realize that and Chrysler turned us down. Said it was too late cause we had 65,000 miles on it. You know why they denied extended warranty? Because they know they sold us a lemon. And must I add... They go out of no way to make anything right. We also had problems with the hogshead leaking. That put us out of work for a while also. The transfer case was not replaced the front end. They just replaced gears. Which means later, all the metal that was grinder is going to cause more problems.

The truck was purchased used from the second owner, so it has some issues. Overall though, it is a good truck. It has not had any major mechanical problems, only minor ones. The truck always runs, is very reliable and dependable. Also, the price was right for what we could afford at the time. It was in good shape for the year. The dash was in one piece, which is unusual for a used truck. Normally, the dashes are cracked and broken from the sun and heat. The title was clear. We ended up making a new friend as well. I like that the truck is blue plus it is a basic model. It has manual locks and windows. It is just a good work truck. However, the heater comes on when you press the brake, so it has to be disabled during the summer. Also, before the brakes get warmed up, be careful and slowly press them or you may end up hitting your head on the steering wheel. Once they warm up, they are like normal brakes though. The windshield needs to be replaced because it is cracked as well.

I have a 1993 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 Cummins engine. This truck is a Club Cab 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I rebuilt the transmission at 328,000 miles and the truck now has 356,000 miles with the original motor and running gear. I change my fluids often and have no issues whatsoever. Every option from the cold AC and cruise control to the rear view camera that I added work perfectly. This truck consistently gets 18mpg which is better than most 3/4 ton 4x4 pickups on the road. I get compliments everywhere I go from people driving newer vehicles, many of them making payments while theyre constantly taking it to the dealer for repairs. I would not hesitate to drive my truck anywhere, anytime. If you are tired of paying $40k, $50k or $60k for a new truck that just creates headaches, consider getting a real truck from the 1990s when the big 3 were in competition with each other as to who could build the best truck on the road. Unfortunately today they are only competing for profit at the expense of making cheaply built vehicles carrying over inflated price tags.

I am 32 years old and have owned 3 Ram trucks. I bought all 3 as the second owner from a Dodge Dealership. I bought a 2012 Ram 2500 with the Hemi 18 months ago. It was over 100k miles but had only one owner who had all the maintenance completed at the dealership. It appeared to be a super clean truck. Within the first 6 months the solenoid went bad in the transmission. $500. Now I am facing a bad camshaft and poor lifters. $3500. I have had the truck less than 18 months and am dumping over $4,000 into this truck and that is just to get it back to normal. Ram of course only has the same junk camshaft and lifters to put back into the truck. They have not improved it or do not have any aftermarket parts to fix their poor design. Not to mention it took 3 weeks to get in because this part remains on back order. I had loved my other Ram trucks and was happy with this one before this problem occurred but I will never own another one and like I said I am only 32. I would urge anyone looking for a truck to choose another brand. I cringe when I see them saying longest lasting trucks on the road. Good luck and dont buy a junk Hemi. It is only as good as its parts.

Ram Country Dodge in Del Rio, TX, I had an appointment for the recall on the 2011 Dodge 3500. I was told it would take 2 hours. I left it at noon, went to pick it up at 6 pm because after several calls, it still wasnt finished mainly because they havent even started on it. Finally, after speaking to the owner, I was told they would have it done in 30 minutes.Several weeks later, the truck died while I was driving it. It was towed to Crenwelge Motors in Fredricksburg, TX where we were told after 5 days of being there, that the recall had never been done and that the fuel pump in the tank was not working. The day the truck was picked up and driven about 45 miles back to Mason, TX, it was still having some sort of problem. So on the 7th of August, it was taken to All American Chrysler in San Angelo, TX. It is still there and we were told that there are 7 errors coming up on the computer. We are not happy at all with the fact that we have a brand new truck and the problems and the runaround we have gotten. Our daughter drives that truck and is in college and needs it. I would like someone to get in touch with me immediately.

2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel - Last fall our ECO was put in shop due to it violently shaking and losing all power. The dealership told me my fuel system imploded due to bad fuel. Had the station tested where I last received fuel... No infractions found so $6,500 later the entire fuel system was replaced. This was with less than 20,000 miles on truck. Yesterday with 30,763 miles it caught fire and is Totalled! Im sure they will blame it on something they think we did but I will never ever own another Ram Ecodiesel! Im so disappointed! So many people having issues with these Ecodiesel yet Chrysler isnt stepping up!

2009 Dodge Ram 4X4. On December 2, 2011, I took the truck to dealership for seat belt light in dash. They could not fix the first time. Second time, they fixed the light. After that, the gas gauge was stuck on full. Three times I took back the truck, still not fixed. The dealership emptied 1/2 tank of gas and dispose of it. The gauge moved to 3/4 after they called me to pick up the truck. I was told the problem was corrected. I filled up the tank with gauge showing 3/4. It took 21 gallons. The tank capacity is 26 gallons. The gauge is back to full and will not move after 80 miles. The truck has 17,710 miles. As of Jan. 4, 2012, the gas gauge is still not working. I will not rest until this truck is fixed, then trade it in for a Toyota or Ford. 3 years warranty ends on March 31, 2012.

My husband and I co-signed a new vehicle loan for our son, Shawn **. He purchased a 2014 Dodge Dart from Towbin Dodge in Henderson, Nevada. He 2/15/2014, the car has been pretty good, however the air conditioner went out on it in May 2014. He had purchased every optional package of protection for this car that was available taking it from $24,855.00 to final cost of $30,424.38 not including the interest that will be paid by the time the loan is final and paid off. However after the kids fought with Dodge here in Kingman, AZ and got nowhere, I called Towbin Dodge and explained what was going with the car and that our local dealer doesnt want to mess with it, would rather just shovel crap at the kids. So they took the car and dropped it off at Towbin Dodge... Today Towbin called Shawn and advised that his car was going to cost $700.00 to fix the air conditioner. They advised him the air condenser unit was bad, as well that it was due to a rock? I find this ridiculous, the condenser unit is located in a very well lets say hard to hit with a rock if you were aiming. The car was only 3 - 3 1/2 months old. If a rock really did fly up from underneath, find its way around the radiator through the spinning fan blades, back around the water pump and back upward flying into the condenser... I would have thought something else would have been damaged along the way.Relative to this subject, if a rock from a road can so easily make its way past the lower protection plates, and above stated scenario wouldnt this be a problem for all Dodge Darts? I dont believe that this is this case. I believe the dealerships are not wanting to take care of this matter. They treat the kids just like kids and shoveled crap at them today. I was unable to attend due to work. I just dont buy it! Please help me or point me in a direction to get this taken care of without the flimsy reason that they gave and giving no other options but give us money. Optional Packages purchased with car: Oil Changes, Lifetime VSC, Polysteel, Red Alert, Ultimate. Thank you for your time, I sincerely hope you can head me in the right direction.

Sold my 05 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel to buy New 2016 RAM 2500 w/ turbo diesel. After having the fuel sensing unit go out at about 45,000 miles, got it fixed under warranty luckily with 150 dollars deposit. So here I am with 65000 miles, now its the turbo actuator part. Apparently its about 3100 dollars (American) without the warranty. So I am locked to have the dealership do the work, and of course its backordered and I am out of my truck for going on 2 weeks (while renting a mini van to keep myself in business). All I can tell anyone, buy the dealership warranty before driving off the lot. Biggest mistake Ive made ever since selling my 05 Dodge Ram inline 6. As soon as I get the truck back, Im selling to buy another brand. I need a dependable truck.

I purchased two 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 in 2017. Had one only a few months and had to have it lined up and dealership had to replace one front tire. Second truck the dealership paid to get it lined up a month after we purchased it. We had it lined up again 6 months later. So now this truck has the two front tires wearing out on the outer thread at about 20,000 miles and 5 months after the last line up. The first truck we purchased has 26,000 miles on it and the front passenger tire (the one replaced a yr ago is wearing out on the outer edge as well. Dealership does not know why this is happening. They say because we did not rotate the tires every 5000 miles (we would have to do this in between oil changes). Then they said it was because we drive around too many curves. (What the heck.) They want to put these tires on the back inside duels so DOT can ding us on bald tires. They said the back tires are worn a little because of over inflation and we never put air in them since we purchased the truck. They cannot tell us why the tires on these trucks are wearing so now we have to purchase new tires every 20,000 miles or less?? Oh and the first truck has to have ball joints replaced. They do not want to do anything to help and they said the Big Wigs at Dodge says they have no reason to believe that there has been enough issues with these trucks to warrant them doing anything about it. GOOD old USA auto manufacturers. I thought our Ford trucks were a headache but these suck.

Thought the Diesel engine would give us great long-term service - after all we have Dodge trucks as old as 2003 on the road for our contracting company. We do NOT do heavy loads nor towing, they are Quad cabs basically light hauling & crew taxi. Regular service and only 1 previous issue with mass air sensor $800 of that at dealership. The other morning, truck started normal, drive 5 miles to fuel up. Tried to start after fueling, big noise and that was it. Engine blown. Now waiting 6 days to see what they are going to do. 35,000 miles left on factory warranty and they are leaving us with no truck and guessing...

This is my third Ram, 2006, 2012 and now 2016. This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned, and the worst dealer service experience! The dealer was in too much of a hurry to put me in a truck, they failed to hear my needs and wants, from the get go with a salesperson who was actually a corporate rep, visiting the dealership this day. He did not listen to my towing needs, and everything he promised me for free (thrown in) was just added to my bill of sale, and my application was for 0% down, 0% financing - and in the end was 3.49%, which was not communicated to me at all.So, first I did not end with a hitch receiver, towing mirrors, or brake module - I had to buy a receiver for $300 and a brake module for $500 plus $90 to program it. I was forced to buy this, as the dealer would not help me and I had to move my trailer promptly. Second the rep promised me the truck could tow my trailers and handle the capacities. The truck falls short by 3000 lbs. because the 8 speed trans. and 3:21 rear gear combo are ** - something the rep failed to even look at and confirm capacities - and assured me that this truck could handle my towing needs. NOT!The truck: the front end is loose - rattles over tracks and bumps, shakes violently on highway (death wobble close) - tires have been balance three times, steering column shakes and rattles, transmission growls, shudders, clunks (when putting into gear or decelerating), vibrates on highway. Rear end clunks, tow haul button doesnt work, gas gauge glitches, headlight out of aim, antenna loose, leather seat clips came off, door weather strip fell off, hood is not aligned with fender, led lights fell out of back seat. When towing my 3500 lb. trailer in tow haul mode the trans. feels like it wants to explode (loud growling and vibration) at any speed. This experience may be only from my particular truck and dealer but I feel it warrants this submission!

2016 Ram 3500 Diesel - Horrible front end vibration on delivery. According to the FINDLAY RAM dealer in Post Falls Idaho where I bought it, it is normal for the front to vibrate your fillings out. Vehicle dangerously cut out pulling out onto the highway/road. Took it to the same dealership 3 times and they couldnt figure it out (I checked the transmission fluid and it was a full quart low). The computer went completely crazy making every single gauge go crazy, and warning light flash continuously. She drove it straight back to the dealer and it wouldnt start again. They had to give her a loaner car and couldnt get their diagnostic machine to even talk to it. Out of the blue it magically works again a day or two later, but since no code was thrown they didnt fix anything.Engine is now knocking like crazy on acceleration (taken it to the dealership 4 times) and the same dealership says its not a problem and that if I throw a rod out of the bottom of the engine while on vacation, warranty will cover it. This is a brand new 67 thousand dollar truck... and all of this has happened in the first 5000 miles. I am now at 8000 miles and couldnt be more disappointed with the brand, the dealership, and RAM care. Now I am going to have to get a lawyer to get this resolved.

On 7/15/13, I purchased a Dodge Ram truck from Smolich Motors in Bend. I love the Truck but the finance officer wasnt clear and didnt explain all the extra cost he added on to our deal. After examining the paperwork within a month later, I decided to cancel the extended warranty and the service that I was told was free. I then decided to go through my credit union for the finance but they had to wait for the extended warranty to go through the other bank and be refunded first. 90 days later they finally refunded the $2,200. Then the service contract I was told would come directly to me and wouldnt have to go through the bank sense it was through the dealership and it would only take two to three weeks. Well that was back in October and now we are in to December and I still dont have the refund for the service which I never wanted and never used. The last time I checked they told me it had to go through the bank and the bank would send it back to me. I checked with the Bank and they had not received it. So now we have my money in limbo somewhere and nobody will do anything about it. ** at the dealership has treated me like He doesnt have the time for me and Im unimportant. I bought the truck in May of last year with only 18000 miles on it. I changed the oil as soon as I bought it (DelVac Mobil 1, 15-40wt syn). Abt 3000 miles later I got the change oil soon message. So I changed it. Another 3000 mile goes by and I got the same message again, but this time I called my local Dodge Ram dealer (Huntington Beach). They told me that the 7500 mile oil change interval is just an approximation. I also noticed that when I drained the oil (into a 5 gal bucket) I noticed the oil level was abt an inch and a half from the top. The dip stick is hard to see if the oil level is higher than it should be. So I took notice to that, so now after another 3000 miles I took an oil sample via Quinn Cat. and it came back with low oil viscosity with an 8.5% of fuel in the oil. Ive tried to get help via my local Dodge dealership and all I got was No engine light, then we cant do anything. I don’t feel that any of what Ive explained is normal. Is there anything you can do to help. Well I got my truck back from Dodge and they told me that 8.5% fuel dilution is? Normal? I cant believe that. They also said that they did a comprehensive injector test. The only thing that I saw in the paperwork that they gave me was that the tech pulled the valve cover and looked at the injectors and stated he didnt see any leaks. Also the tech smelled in the engine, and it didnt smell of fuel. That, is as far as I can see is their BIG test. Anyway, my VIN is **. My oil change intervals are May 25, 2013, 18700 miles (That’s when I bought the truck), Aug 24, 2013, 22176 miles, Nov 17, 2013, 26659 miles (This is when I pulled over 4 1/2 gallons of oil/fuel mix out of the engine), Jan 21, 2014, 29732 miles (This is when I took the oil sample). Changed oil Mar 24, 2014, 32980 (Oil Sample 9% rule in oil), April 27, 2014 (Oil sample no results yet). Now, Im not the smartest cookie on the planet, but if I get 8.5% & 9% of fuel in the oil at only 3073 mile between oil changes, something is wrong (In my Opinion). Thanks for your time. Bought in to the new RAM truck experience in 2014 and purchased a 2500 RAM with a Cummins diesel engine with the purpose of pulling a toy hauler when we retired. Since acquiring these special vehicle I have had 12 recall notices, several service warranty issues that took forever to repair and no support from RAM trucks. If not for a decent dealer, this would be a total nightmare. I have had the Urea sensor issue which RAM implied was due to bad DEF fluid when in fact it was a faulty sensor design that fails due to the corrosion from the DEF fluid.I am now waiting on a correction to the latest recall T51/NHTSA 17V-562 to correct a water pump failure which may cause an engine fire? No indication on how/what they will do or if they will give a loaner vehicle to use, not one answer from them. They have a nice design in the truck, but have failed the public in quality control and standing behind their product. Would not recommend this vehicle to any of my friends for future purchases.

I first had a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. It ran fine until 2013 when it would suddenly stop while driving and start up again on its own. Not being able to accelerate from an intersection because it decided to stop and restart with a semi-truck coming is a bit scary. After several trips to the dealership where it was bought and no solution, I traded the vehicle in on a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn Diesel. Guess what? This truck does the same thing only more often. Of course, the dealership has no answer to the problem except that I must be driving with my foot on the brake, WRONG. What an experience to be going down the road pulling a racecar trailer and having the truck do its stop and start thing. Intersections are even more exciting. Come on Chrysler, how about getting things right before someone (including me) gets killed. Oh yes, the truck stopped and started 3 times within a 10 mile radius from our home to the local store yesterday. Now I have another piece of junk that I am paying the bank for and do not know how long it will be before it ever gets fixed or completely goes to H---. Since the 2011 had a Hemi and the 2014 has the new diesel engine, think it must be something else besides the engines???

This truck is one of my favorite vehicles. I had zero problems with it and the Hemi engine is awesome. My only complaint was that it got pretty bad gas mileage, and this during 2007 and 2008 when gas was 4 something a gallon in Texas. Great truck, fair to good interior, low payload capacity, but towed a trailer well. Nice sounding and fast.

2012 Ram 3500. Had this truck 2 1/2 years. Its had the high mount stop light replaced 3xs to correct a water leak. Not confident its fixed, only seems to last a few months. Had radio updated 3xs before replacing to fix the nav system. The major issue is that when I slow or come to a stop I get diesel exhaust fumes coming from the vents. I have complained to the dealer about 4xs about this, they can never find anything. Last trip in last week they smelled the exhaust and replaced the EGR. Picked up truck Saturday, drove it Monday and same issue. Started a case with Chrysler. They called back and asked what is my expected outcome? Really told them take the truck and give me my money back, just dont think they know how to correct the issue and its to the point no one will ride in the truck. This is nasty, not to mention a health hazard. This is my 1st & last Chrysler product Ill ever buy.

We are a small company that has purchased Dodge Ram 3500 diesels over the past 5-years. The most current two we purchased were in 2018 and they will be the last. We currently have 13 Dodge Ram vehicles with the oldest a 2014; which is our entire fleet. Between the 13-Dodges we now have 50-recalls. For us to decommission a vehicle for a couple of days so the recall can be completed requires a lot of work; costly for us. We must move our crews out of the truck, rent a truck, interrupt our workday, pay overtime, create problems for our client, deal with issues created with USDOT, and on and on which all relates to us losing revenue for our company. For a small business to have to go through this difficulty for 50-recalls; up to 50-times; let alone all the service problems and mechanical failures with these vehicles, they are extremely excessive and costly to us. We have completed 43 of the 50 recalls to date. Costs are mounting and the recalls keep coming; one at a time. What are they building at Chrysler? What inferior components are they using that creates these recalls and dissatisfied customers like us?We have called FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) to discuss and to talk with a supervisor but they are proving very difficult to get hold of. They have only returned one of my calls that was not able to be answered; the message was; that they simply say who they are but they leave no contact information. Calling back to the main number only gets us to the basic apologies and they will only take a message for the supervisor; they say that the supervisor has no direct contact number or email; we (ironically) wonder why. They say that the Supervisor will call back in 1-business day; that is not happening. In the past, we loved Dodge Ram; but not anymore. We are currently and actively searching for a new brand; NOT DODGE. We need to replace three trucks this year plus add one more to our fleet.
