2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK-class

My Mercedes Benz C300 have been taken to several different location due to several different issues. I have complaint several different time. But, Mercedes Benz have yet to fix the issues with my car and others. The passenger seat does not move back and forth. The leather on my car seat is wearing out and changing color. My power steering suddenly stop working while I am driving. My turning mirrors light just stop working and the issues goes on and on.
I am writing this letter to state my displeasure with having to replace the front rotors on my 2011 Mercedes E350 Blutec with only 30,584 miles. This is our fifth Mercedes starting in 2007 with an E320, a C320, E320 CDI, CLK350 and the current E350 Blutec. Each car was driven about 15,000 miles per year by both drivers, averaging 70% highway, 30% local. We have never had any problem with brakes, rotors or anything in that area. Our current Mercedes E350 Blutec has the sport package. On September 12, 2012, we had the front right tire replaced because we hit a pot hole that ruptured the sidewall of the tire. The tire was replaced by Quirk Mercedes of Bangor Maine, mileage 26,375.A summary of the succeeded maintenance By Brumos Mercedes of Jacksonville, FL follows: Service on October 17, 2012, car mileage 29339, for regular Flex A Diesel special. Right rear tire found to be worn bald. We ended up putting 3 new tires on the car. Total bill is $1,156.45. Service on November 12, 2012, car mileage 30,584. Incoming customer complaint: Very noticeable heavy vibration appears at most highway speeds. Service checked balance on all tires. The 3 that Brumos replaced checked okay. The RF tire that was replaced on September 14, 2012 by Quirk Mercedes of Bangor Maine needed to be rebalanced. Post service comment: There is a brake vibration at highway speeds coming from the front rotors. A cost estimate to replace both front brake rotors (brakes pulsate when applied) of $535.90. Total bill is $24.88. We now have a time period when we did not drive the Mercedes very much. Service on March 8, 2013, mileage 31,569. Note from last service visit: We discovered a noticeable vibration that appears when the brakes are applied at 35MPH and higher speeds. Customer has felt the same condition in the steering and in the drivers seat. The tech stated it needed front rotors. Service note 31580 found front brake rotors with excessive rotor run out causing a vibration when braking. The tech then replaced the front rotors, front pads and new sensor. Road checked okay. Bill total is $556.16. Our service advisor, who we like very much, informed us that the run out or warping is most likely caused by overheated brakes that cool unevenly such as keeping the brakes applied in the same spot after stopping or running through water with hot brakes. Nowhere in the Mercedes manual is this discussed.I would think that the excellence of German engineering would design rotors that would stand up to these conditions. I hesitate to declare a design flaw, but perhaps the design margins have been compromised for some other consideration. In any event, I really do not want to face another rotor replacement in another 30,000 miles.
The battery dies randomly (5 times), repaired three times, each time it was supposedly fixed. The consequences are being stranded and very pissed off.
M-benz will hurt you. After my wife having a major electronic failure came home quite shaken just after leasing the Mercedes Benz sl63 AMG, I had the car checked. They said there were no error messages in the computer to collaborate her statements of the lights and the gauges going crazy inside and out of the car, with numerous error codes coming up. We later found out Mercedes Benz has their on board computer set to reboot with critical failure there by wiping the memory clean of the event. After other numerous electronic failures and not getting Mercedes to fix or even acknowledge them, even with photos and video, we were almost killed one night on the open highway on Oct 7 2013 when the same event that happened to wife finally occurred with me in the car. When the electronics went on rampage and freak-out lights flashing, bells dinging, flashing error codes and emergency message causing me to try to get the car on the shoulder of the road, I struck a piece of tire left on the road probably by a truck. It took the whole front of the car out. After 6 weeks of waiting for our car I called Fletcher Jones in Nevada. They told me they could not get the error codes to clear but not to worry, they were going to get it cleared up. 2 weeks later we got the car. I asked what it took to get the codes cleared up, he smiled and said the tech crashed the on board computer and it reset itself. When we drove the car back home from Vegas we had transmission trouble and error codes. I called Fletcher Jones in Las Vegas Nevada. They told me to take the car to Fletcher Jones in Ontario, 15 miles from our home in Verdemont CA. They kept the car for a few days and when they returned it they said there was nothing wrong with the transmission and there were no error codes. After several trips back to the dealership, half of the time they would not take the car. They refused to keep it till it was fixed and they would call me when the part came in. Before the part came in we were informed that my father in-law was on his death bed. I called, explained the situation and asked if they could expedite the part so we could take the car back east. I was informed by party dial that their main tech guy, George, said the car was safe to take back east the way it was.On our way out to pa, when we reached Flagstaff we started to have problems with the trunk not closing and the trunk opening while driving on the highway. By St Louis we had electrical problems and the trunk would not lock or close after opening. We drove to pa with trunk wired shut. While in pa the car was at Mercedes 4 times in 5 weeks. We were forced to stay an extra week waiting for parts to come in. We were told that the electronics were screwed up in the front of the car. Just outside to Amarillo Texas the same thing happened with the electronics that caused the accident and damage to the front of the car in October 7 2013. This time we caught it on video. We almost made it to the side of the road just before the car stopped running and went dark. The car coasted to a stop. We had no cell reception. We waited in the car for awhile. Out of desperation I tried to start the car and it sprang to life like nothing happened. Thank god we got this on video. It DID not matter to Mercedes Benz when I sent the video to Fletcher Jones in Ontario. They said not to bring in the car, they would show the video and Mercedes Benz and get back to us. They never DID!!! So much for the mantra the best or nothing.
Low profile, flatless tires on the S550 4Matic - My car is leased through my company. I have the car about 17 months. I still have another year and a half on my lease. During this time I have had to have a total of 11 tires replaced and now my car is in for a flat tire once again. The leasing company actually reimbursed me once month lease payment because my car was in the shop for almost 8 weeks. I have had it with this car!!! Im a CEO and need a car that is reliable. I asked to get out of the lease and they stated some preposterous number to pay to get out of it. Im wondering if others with this type of tire are experiencing the same frustration as I am. Im actually afraid to drive my car anywhere for fear I may go into a pothole. I also do not feel safe in it for fear that I may have a blowout. Any suggestions?? My next step is to get an attorney to get me out of this. Until the flatless tires are perfected, Im going to look into an SUV that has substantial tires on it.
I have a 2003 mb 500 sl and I still own the car. For a car that costs more than $135,000.00, I am extremely disappointed in the major problems I have. All services have been done diligently and I have had to pay for many as you know the problems arise only after the warranty expires.Currently I am facing a serious color fade on the bonnet/hood and a leak from the closure point of the convertible above the driver when the car is washed or when it rains. And it rains in Florida.This is not something that the mb dealership wants to fix and I am disappointed that for a car that expensive, problems like these should be non existent or cost covered by Mercedes to say the least. All of my other Mercedes and I had 3 prior, the family all own Mercedes, did not have such issues. I am very disappointed and I so wanted to keep this car and buy another to run around. Can you please assist in my dilemma and in correcting these problems?
I want to purchase a duplicate of my C280 1999 Mercedes Benz key, which I lost. In Bolivia, the Mercedes representative, Ovando **, says they cannot sell me the key duplicate and give me the full service, because I bought my car to the previous representative. They can only take care of the cars they sold. I bought my car from the official representative in year 2000. I kindly request your help, so that I can purchase the car key. Since I lost the car key of my Mercedes Benz, I want to find a way to solve the problem and get a duplicate. I have three children, and I am having too many problems, since I do not have transportation. Please reply ASAP.
My 2008 GL 450 CPO has been in the shop for more than 20 times in the last 2 years that I have owned it. The last time, it was in for 36 days waiting for a compressor for the suspension. MB USA said, Oh sorry, we cant do anything for you. I asked them to extend my warranty, but they said no. I just want to tell as many people as I can that MB doesnt stand behind their product. My advice is to buy from another auto maker.
My wife and I leased a brand new E350 almost one year ago. My father has the same car and we had driven every iteration he has had over the years so we were very familiar with the car, and liked the way each of his drove. The car had issues as soon as we drove it off the lot, loose parts, noises in the trunk, and rough/unpredictable shifting of the transmission. The loose parts and noises were fixed when we took our new car in to the dealer 5 days after we picked it up. They also replaced the rear tires. The car still shook and shifted roughly. So since the dealer we bought it from still had our traded vehicle, I suggested it would be best for all involved to return the car and we would leave with our trade but they refused. I contacted MB corporate and wrote letters to the President of MB North America. I was told to continue to bring the car in for service since that was what the warranty is for, but I find this completely unacceptable for such a pricey car. In almost of a year of having this car weve only driven 4500 miles because we feel the car is unsafe to drive. We pursued a lemon-law case, but since the descriptions on the repair orders are written by different people who are interpreting the problems the best they can in limited space, and since the shifting issues are intermittent, the Board ruled against us even though the car exhibited the unpredictable shifting/acceleration on the way to the hearing. We have been treated poorly by the dealer we leased the car from, and from MB Corporate who makes the Customer feel like there is no real issue with the car even though a search has revealed that the 7 speed transmission in these cars are not working correctly. Weve asked that MB re-purchase the car so we can get something that performs properly and that we feel safe driving. My wife has had issues on the highway because of the unpredictable acceleration of the car, when you expect to pass or avoid a car and you press on the gas, sometimes the car does not initially respond, and then lurch forward unpredictably. One of the board members hearing our case stated that modern cars exhibit a 2 to 3 second delay when accelerating because they are not connected to the carburetor the way older cars were which is just nonsense, but thats who is reviewing these things. I am shocked at how MB treats their Customers. I never received a response from the President of MB NA by the way. I can provide all my e-mails, letters, and repair orders if needed. MB portrays themselves as a premium brand but they treat their customers poorly and step all over them with a legal team and experts who can easily confuse board members hearing lemon cases. MB could have taken back this lemon and I would have purchased a more expensive model if they were good business people, but they are more interested in forcing the Customer to pay for a sub-standard car so that they can hold on to their image as a prestige brand which in my experience it is not. Ive had Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, and Mercedes automobiles and Ive never had anything close to this type of experience. We continue to bring the car to the dealer which has been a major inconvenience and not what you expect from a brand new car.
I have a 2009 Smart car and the paint top clear coat is peeling off all over the car. If you google this issue, you will see that many of the Smart cars have paint issues, especially the red ones (which mine is). I called the Smart headquarters and I was instructed to apply for the Goodwill out of warranty process. I went ahead and got the estimate from their approved Auto shop and submitted that. I received a call today from Adam from the Mercedes-Benz headquarters and my request to have the car painted was denied. I saved for 3 years to purchase that car new. It now looks terrible and Mercedes-Benz has to know that this is an issue with their Smart cars. So, now I ride around in a crappy looking car. When people ask me how I like my Smart car, I take them for a walk around my car and then inform them that Mercedes-Benz will not back this issue up. I am very disappointed with their customer service. You would think that it would make more sense for them to fix the problem, versus me riding around in a crappy looking Smart car. Clearly, they dont care about their customers and keeping them happy. I would never recommend any Mercedes-Benz dealership. I should have bought a Subaru based on their excellent customer service.
I have a 2 year old, C class AMG, still under MB warrantry. When bought from a non franchised MB dealer which had 4,500 on the clock when bought - It now has 7,800 on the clock. In that time the front discs have been changed once at 6,000 miles and are now due for change again. With a different issue. For the first week or two, the brakes were perfect. Then I could feel the brake pedal was pulsing. After a new set of MB discs. Current issue with these, is horrendous vibration on the car all over the car at minimum braking. (Anything above 20mph). Hard braking, the vibration disappears until you start easing off on the brakes. Or, you get below 20mph.3 weeks ago, it was booked into, first MB (Solihull) dealership, on latest discs changed at 5,500 roughly and car was showing 7,000. Lucas over the phone called me and said front discs are warped. Told him not correct (or words to that effect.) Cant be, its had new MB discs. He told me. In which case take it back to the (non) franchise dealer you bought it from and get them to repair it... which I was not happy with it the slightest. So, I talked to the manager of the dealership and he pacified me by saying, its a known issue, when bolting the wheels up to the hub (Basically fed me **, it turns out).So, two weeks ago, took it to an independent garage. After telling them the issues. They said instead of just slapping new discs on. They would check everything. So, they clocked the wheels to the hub. Both fronts running true. Then clocked the front hubs. Drivers side was running out 0.005 though. Passenger side was running bang on. (So, MB Solihull were wrong, and were effectively going to fit new discs to a hub that was out?)At that point Id decided never to use MB Solihull again. Due to Lucas telling me to take the car back to the dealers Id bought it from over the phone and an incorrect fault diagnosis. I think they were more interested in carrying out the software update to the powertrain module, than sorting out the issue I had with the brakes (Probably never even took the wheels off. Just drove the car. Experienced the vibration and fed me, what is in the customers handbook). Lucas said he would e-mail me the report. Needless to say, that never happened. Yesterday the non-franchised dealers I bought it from, had it booked it into 2nd different MB (Coventry) garage. I though to cure the problem. The dealer told MB Coventry, everything wed learned from the independent garage.I phoned MB Coventry at 2.30pm and was eventually told that theyd found the problem. It was rust on the hub and you have a broken bearing. So youve cured the problem? No. Weve not been told to cure it. And started to talk about corrosion on the mating faces. etc. Straight out of your How to get out of sorting a known issue handbook. (I was not polite, as by then Id realised that I would be driving this heap of scrap on the motorway for another week).Got off the phone and phoned up the garage who stripped the car down last week. They said no signs of rust on the hub. Then phoned the dealer and apparently MB had quoted for Two hubs. Even though one hub was running true... not sure what else they quoted for. Just knew they were trying to rip me off. I then went to the Coventry branch to pick the car up and discuss with the manager, the issues I have. He shows me pics of the hub and shows pics of the broken bearing. So, incredulously I say to him, youve stripped a car down and put it back together again with a broken front hub bearing, and are going to hand that car over to me? (Basically called him a liar as I didnt believe the hub he was showing me, was mine (Even if it was. The implications of giving a car back to a customer with a fault such as that, doesnt bear thinking about).He talked to me, out by the car and went all over the wheels looking for any signs of bangs or refurbishment, even suggested the wheels werent the originals... While he was doing this, I noticed that the outside areas of the wheels, were still covered in brake dust. So, voiced my doubts that theyd even taken the wheels off, at all. He persuaded me they had, as the wheel nut areas you could see no brake dust. Which brings me to the question that if MBs wheels/hubs, etc. are so critical on their mating faces that they need to be spotlessly clean. Surely the very first thing MB should do, before removing the wheels, is to remove any brake dust on the outside? So, when bolting up the wheels, Your not compounding the problem?(The car is vibrating all over the place. A bit more brake dust isnt going to make that much difference). The manager also blamed refurbished wheels? Everything basically that was not covered, by the MB manufacturing warranty. I then said, there is no way I would ever, take a car of mine to MB for anything and I wouldnt trust their mechanics to put my great grand daughters Lego together if their latest diagnosis on my car is to be believed. I will never buy an MB again, as they obviously have a serious design defect, that needs addressing, if the brake discs are that fragile. Manager agreed by looking sheepish, if that makes sense.My perception of MB is that they like scaring people into throwing their money away. Total whitewash with respect to my customers complaint. Obviously couldnt give a damn about their (ex) customers. More interested in trying to screw as much money out of gullible customers as they can. Clearly a good business model. But one ex-customer isnt going to make a difference.
I recently (Nov 2014) traded in my C-300 (2012) for the new C-300 (2015) at the London dealership. After a few weeks my daughter complained that her door (left passenger door) would not close properly. We unfortunately ignored her and continued driving the vehicle. Later in January, whilst driving with my family the rear door alarm came on, in a panic I asked my daughter to hold the door while I parked in the emergency lane. On inspection I noticed the door handle awkwardly open, even with constant pushing the door would not close!I took the car into the London dealership where the car was inspected (I also pointed out other quality concerns which I still feel have not been addressed). Later in the evening I was told, We have checked the back door and oiled the mechanism/door lock and this should fix the problem. On my further instance I was told the whole door locking system would be replaced as a precaution until then I could drive my car as it was safe to do so. Happy that qualified Mercedes Benz technical staff had given me a green light to drive without fear of safety concerns I returned home. One week after, the same incident repeated itself with my family in the car! I called the team at service adviser and informed him of the incident. I expected to hear something reassuring but was told the parts were on backorder, I will get back to you tomorrow on how we can solve this for you. As Mercedes Benz, I would expect a much higher standard of product quality and customer care, both of which are absent. Does Mercedes Benz not care about serious safety concerns on their cars? I fear not only for my safety but the safety of other families that may experience this or worse. Please live up to the promise you make to your customers.
Mercedes slk 350 - 20,078 miles and its been in Mercedes shop 6 different times for all kind of reasons. 2 different times for wheel sensors once cause headlight come loose and fell battery replaced after one year. Parking light snapped out of bracket. Trunk opened while driving down hwy for no reason. Has other electrical problems that occur every so often. Spoke to customer service to no avail. Vehicle never been in a accident. Just very low mileage car. Dont buy Mercedes and oh also when you take it to the dealership you gonna wait on parts too.
Im trying to get a rear differential for my 2007 E350 Mercedes. It has been, since Thanksgiving 2012. I cant get the part and they cant tell me when I will get it (actually, they have given me a few different dates - none of which were right). I called Mercedes Customer Service multiple times. They cant get me a part, cant even tell when I will get a part. I expected more out of Mercedes.
Never again will I buy a new Mercedes. Our 2011 ML350 has only 22,000 on it as of today. We use it for vacation trips only and it is stored in a climate controlled garaged when not in use. We have had three major repairs in the 22,000 miles, mostly sensors failing that made drivability terrible. Also had to have a new computer installed after several trips to various MB dealers who could not seem to diagnose the problem.Latest problem is bad rattling noise from the front suspension. I took the car to an independent mechanic who has a stellar reputation who diagnosed the problem as upper front strut mounting failure. This was at 17,000 miles and in preparation for a trip to Florida we had scheduled and wanted to be sure it was safe to drive. On that trip I took it to a dealer in Raleigh, NC where our daughter lives to have it repaired (We have no dealer within 100 miles of us here). The dealer verified the strut problem and quoted over $1800 to repair, which was a shock to me as I assumed at 22,000 miles that the warranty would cover this. We were told the time on our warranty had expired by just a little bit and it would not be covered by warranty. I called MB USA and tried to get it covered since it was such low mileage on the car. They would only allow a 40% discount on the repair. I then took the car to the earlier mentioned mechanic who did the repairs for less than the 40% off price at MB dealers. Never again will we buy a MB or have this one repaired by a MB dealer. The build quality on this car is about as bad as owning a Yugo. I have much experience on automotive builds as my hobby is restoring antique cars and building hot rods. I have built several cars from the frame up and currently own two hot rods built that way (1953 Ford F-100 and a 1934 Chevrolet). The car club I belong to is who recommended the local mechanic I use now for all maintenance on my newer cars when I dont have time or equipment to do it myself. The MB was purchased by my wife as her car and we expected much more from such a high priced vehicle. Highly disappointed in Mercedes-Benz.
In July of 2011, I purchased a certified pre-owned Mercedes E350 with about 10,000 miles on it. Now, less than 3 months of owning this car, the air conditioning smells awful when I turn it on, I mean it literally smells like feces or sewage. I stopped by the Mercedes dealer today (8-October-2011) where I purchased it from only to be told that Mercedes is not warranting this problem. I was told he had 4 customers just this week reporting the exact same thing. It would be my responsibility to pay for what would be the amount of a temporary fix; replacing the cabin air-filter and spraying some Lysol-type disinfectant in the coil condensate box, costing around $180 to $200. This same scenario would need to be repeated at least yearly or more often. The service adviser himself even stated he did not agree with Mercedes not warranting this problem, and even stating that Mercedes does not believe it to be a problem. Well try driving my car with the A/C on with the smell that immediately begins to fill the car. It nearly makes you want to vomit so bad. My A/C is virtually unusable because of it. I have owned Mercedes cars since 2008 and not once have I had an issue, until now. And this is making me seriously contemplate selling the car (at a substantial loss because who wants to buy a car that smells like sewage) and buying something else. I had considered myself to be a lifelong Mercedes owner/driver, but if they refuse to stand by their product, then why should I remain loyal to them? It is an engineering and design defect that needs to be retrofitted and corrected. Come on Mercedes, do something about this, or I wont be the only Mercedes customer that youll lose to another manufacturer.
My name is Sibongile **, I have a serious concern Mercedes Benz Constantia Kloof Roodepoort, Gauteng. Firstly: I brought A class 160 classic Mercedes Benz only for fixing of the starter, they made a quotation and we agreed on the price which was R15 177.10 and I paid the deposit of R10 000. Surprisingly when I call them to make follow up, Ive been told that the car is losing power. They assume that the problem is on the petrol pump which need to be replaced. Again, they did second quote of R24 583.30. When I went to collect the car, there was another fault of sensor which need to be replaced. Again, the price went up to R32 797.50. The mechanic Jan told me that when they test drive the car the car loses the power again.I called them to find out if the car is okay but they asked me to come to the workshop they want to show me something, they told me that there is other faults in the car that involved ABS or Computer box, the car still giving them same problem of the power. Firstly Mercedes refused to diagnose the car and find all the problems in the car, they do it one by one which I dont understand. Before fixing my car they were supposed to give me the full diagnosis report because there are the specialists but they failed to do so, they told me that the mechanic does not allow that. They are using assumptions all the time. I am frustrated and running short of cash. I might lose my car, even now the car is still with them. Please intervene on the matter. I am so frustrated and running out of cash.
On a recent road trip the check engine light lit up on my 2010 GLK 350. When I took the vehicle local dealer where they performed a quick test to reveal what they termed as a camshaft stretched timing chain. I had heard previously that Mercedes had been having this 350 engine problem with several models and years. I went online to discover that in fact that there have been numerous such problems with the 350 engine. My local dealer wants $2,600.00 to pull the engine and repair. Yes, the vehicle is out of warranty, but it seems to me that Mercedes knew well before the 2010 models were produced that they were having complaints about the 350 camshaft adjuster problem.
I purchased a 2010 C300 less than a year ago with only 25,000 miles on it. Ten months later, I am told that my car needs a new transmission and would cost about $10,000 to replace it. I only placed about 8,000 miles on the car and was told that my car was out of warranty. I adhered to all of the maintenance requirements and had my car serviced at all due dates. The car dealership told me that I should contact Mercedes Benz to ask for assistance because this was highly unusual. After calling Mercedes and pleading my case, I was told that the only thing they would do is offer me 10% off repairs or $1,000 towards the cost of a new Mercedes. I continued to plead and wrote letters to the top officials and never received any help or assistance. To make matters worst, I prepared myself to order the transmission and have it installed only to find out that the transmission is on back order. Mercedes Benz told me that it could take up to a year to have a transmission available. This is coming from the MB manufacturer that makes the cars and they dont have a transmission available. Now, my car sits in a garage unable to move while I still make the monthly payments. Buyers should be aware. This company does not provide customer assistance or service. I will never buy another MB.
Bought New 2009 C300. Only has 40,000 miles. Biggest junk we ever owned. Driver seat came apart. Paint on front bumper cover and all door handles peeling off (all plastic areas). Dealer agreed to repaint. After 1 year its happening again (Color is Mars Red). Car went into lock mode and wouldnt start. Had to be flat bedded to dealer. Blower motor for heat/air burned out. SRS system set off trouble codes dealer. Said bad seat belt parts. Car is out of warranty and have to pay for everything. Never owned such a junk!Bought New ML250 Bluetec Diesel. Just turned 20,000 miles on 4/4/17. Driving down road and starting surging. Went a little further down road and surging again. This time smelling Diesel fuel. Started smoking from under hood. Car broke down. Had to be flat bedded into dealer. Dealer said Fuel leak and all other related damage from fuel spraying on engine is due to rodent damage and warranty is not covering anything. Want to charge me $4500 to $5000 for repair.I dont believe there was any rodent damage and the fuel leak was caused by faulty parts. We drive the car every day. It doesnt sit around. I also drove it all day on 4/4/17 and this happened at 2:30 pm after driving all morning. I opened hood on roadside to make sure it wasnt on fire. Didnt see any signs on rodent nesting or anything. The car is under warranty and extended warranty and they wont cover anything. This is terrible customer service/relations. We are done with Mercedes-Benz. We will tell everyone we know.What is the sense of having warranty when they wont honor it. Rodent or not. Fix it. Warranty it. Its called customer service. What about the oil leak recall... which we havent got. I say that ruined the wires or harness and the oil ate through and that caused the problem. MB wont own up to these problems. When the MB Rep called me back she agreed with the dealers decision. Terrible. We are talking about New Vehicles $100,000 worth of JUNK. Our lawyer will be getting informed of these issues. We also filed a complaint with NHTSA.
Mercerdes 2012 GL450 - I had to replace the Continental Tires with less than 24,000. I found out the MFG doesnt even have a tread warranty for these tires. These are the cheapest tires available for this vehicle. Mercedes put my family in danger with these garbage tires and I will never purchases another Mercedes again. I have never in 31 years of driving have I had to replace tires that were totally shot with 24,000 miles on them. The dealership and corp said this is normal tread life!!!! We have always had Lexus in the past and Mercedes is not even close to the quality. Dont buy a Mercedes with these junk tires on them if you like your family.
I bought a brand new, 2012 SLK350 on September 8, 2012. Within two days, a seat belt malfunction indicator appeared on the dashboard. I took it to the dealer on September 13 and was informed that the seat belt needed to be replaced, and parts needed to ordered/delivered from Germany. After multiple stories and repeated calls to the dealership about how long it would take, I finally got my car back on October 4th, almost one month of not being able to drive a brand new car that I had purchased for the proverbial $64,000. I called Mercedes Benz directly a few times and did not get any answer, other than an apology and that they would look into it. I am appalled by the quality, support, and service levels of Mercedes Benz.
I purchased my C280 with 7 miles on it. It was the car of my dreams and my very first new car. To make a long story short, five years after purchase and a lot of money invested in maintenance and repairs and no warranty, Ive been told that I need to replace the camshaft plugs, sensor, adjuster, balance shaft, engine mounts, transmission mounts, timing chain and seals. Not to mention, both door handles broke off a few months ago (and to think I blamed my children). Whats worse, the mechanic added that those problems are common problem in C class vehicles from years 2006 to beginning 2008. Basically, the Mercedes Benz company is aware that this problem occurs in their vehicles due to a plastic camshaft that was previously used. Why wasnt I told this while I was still under warranty? Why werent the parts ever recalled? I am so hurt because I cant afford the $5,500 repair on my dream car! The quality I always thought accompanied the luxury of Mercedes Benz is a joke and I cant begin to express my disappointment.
This was the worst service department Ive ever encountered! My car had problems from day one and Ive been back nine times with my car out of service for over 50 days and still the problems remain. The service also put charges on my credit card that were completely unauthorised and to this day has never responded as to why they did that. Even the Santa Monica dealership is awful. I cannot wait to be done with this horrible lease and move on to a better company! I have been in touch with their corporate apartment and they have been just as pathetic. I always thought so highly as a Mercedes name but I realized its just a brand and nothing more.
I bought an ML 6.3 AMG from Mercedes Inchcape with five thousand miles on the clock. They charged me top book price. When driving, I felt the steering was not quite right. I took the vehicle back to the dealership several times and was basically fobbed off. I then paid an independent engineer to inspect the vehicle. His findings were that the vehicle had been in a front end crash. It had had several new panels including wings and front bumper, even the headlight was superglued in. I have stopped the payments on the vehicle and put my complaint to the dealership in November 2011. They eventually sent their manager out in the middle of January 2012. All he did was take photographs of the jeep on his mobile phone! And he eventually sent a letter to my solicitor stating that he could not say the vehicle as not road worthy. This has been explained to him that my complaint is that I was sold a vehicle under false pretenses, as I was not informed of any repair work being carried out prior to me purchasing the vehicle. And if I was, I would not have completed the purchase, as stated I paid top book price ($90K+). I have informed both the dealership and Mercedes Inchcape that I have rescinded the contract with them and I am requesting all monies paid to them be returned to me.
My thoughts about Mercedes Benz Financial and Customer Care Im completely unhappy, disenchanted and disappointed with Mercedes Benz Financial and Mercedes Benz Customer Care. To give you a timeline of events I leased a brand new AMG C 43 2019 MB on February 9th 2019 and exactly 3 days later the engine light went on and as of today February 26th the Mercedes Benz mechanics have yet been able to remove the engine light. Hence as of today my out pocket costs have been over 5,000 not including the ceramic tints I put on the new car all for nothing. At this point I have filed a grievance with Mercedes Benz Customer service and they have commenced the Buy Back Process which they say takes 24 hour period before someone can reach out to me. That was 4 days ago and still no call or email from someone from Mercedes Benz to address my concerns absolutely ridiculous. All the while all I have heard in regards to customer service is, Mr. ** you have to understand we didnt manufacturer the car, you signed a contract. Excuse me, yes I did sign a lease agreement but at this point services have not been rendered and in order to have an agreement and or contract both parties should act professionally and with high business standards and morals. Mercedes Benz USA should own this and be accountable for me being inconvenienced. It is now February 28th and still no car, and not one senior level executive has reached to me to make this right. Throughout this process the lack of responsiveness and customer service mentality as been lacking and definitely in question. Ultimately the sad part is that I still dont have a brand new car and what was supposed to be a proud day in my life has turned out to be a nightmare. E. **. Not sure at this point if I should cut my losses and to Audi. My feeling that I have lost faith in the Mercedes Benz brand. It would have been nice if a a senior executive would have had the decency to call me personally and claim ownership regarding my experience with MB Financial as well as customer care.
I highly recommend Mercedes-Benz. I have 1996 w124 250d with the OM615 engine non turbo version for last 3 years, currently 500,000 km or even more. No problems with it, everything works smoothly like it was built yesterday. Fuel consumption is great 6.5l/100km on motorway. I love the suspension in this car, it feels like driving on a cloud. I would say that its one of the best engineered cars ever made. Car is very reliable and never had any major issues with it. Also service parts are not expensive and widely available and doing service or even changing brakes is very intuitive and doesnt cause any trouble so everyone who owns set of basic tools can do it. I understand that the car is almost 20 years old and some people might think its awful and ugly, I suppose its up to individual taste. I personally love old-school cars. Used to own 1990 BMW e30 325i, 1991 VW Golf gti and 2000 BMW E46 320, them cars where not bad and it was fun driving them. But w124 gives me so much driving pleasure.
In Nov 2014 I notice the paint on my car was cloudy. I took it to the dealership and there was a recall. The car was in the shop for almost 2 months and when I got the car back there were so many defects - I marked them and took it back to the dealer where the owner of the paint shop showed up. They took the car back cause there is so much orange peel and defects and I got it back one day later. The car looks worse than before now with swirl marks and a haze look. I have been trying to get someone at Mercedes to help out but no luck. I just came back from the dealership and the sales manager of Mercedes Benz of South Orlando ** even said he would not be happy with the car and has been trying to reach my case manager with no luck. I told him I should not have to be dealing with this and he told me the dealership does not own the car, Mercedes Benz of America does and there is nothing he can do.Beware of buying a Mercedes as thru what I have gone thru they do not care about the customer once they sell or lease you a car. I have and do own other high end cars and have never had a bad experience with them as I have with Mercedes. The dealership offered me to trade it in on a 2015 after I already have around $36000 in this car that only has 16,000 miles on it. How in my right mind would I EVER BUY OR LEASE ANOTHER MERCEDES. I will keep all posted if Mercedes decides to do the right thing.
Any car but NEVER EVER Mercedes. Why am I posting here? To create consumer awareness. NEVER EVER MERCEDES AGAIN. Worst customer service ever. Mercedes Benz Canada is the worst company to deal with when there is a problem with the car. Complete lack of customer service and they do not care if you are a long time client. They simply don’t care. After almost two years no one is able to find the problem in my 2018 E 400 at Mercedes Oakville and Mercedes Benz Canada is not willing to do anything. After repeated visits for a problem brought to their attention right after we leased the vehicle it still hasn’t been rectified. We have had to escalate to arbitration but still no help because it is an intermittent noise that doesn’t happen every day. Despite multiple employees hearing the noise on multiple occasions they can’t fix it.Mercedes Benz Canada’s response to arbitration was pathetic. Their response was we are welcome to keep taking car back. They have tried to repair multiple times at an inconvenience to us and their only solution is to keep going back. No one expects multiple visits for a noise issue on a car that costs this much. We were so desperate to get rid of this vehicle that we even went and talked to sales department at Mercedes Benz Oakville who knew about the situation but were unable to do anything to make it reasonable for us to switch cars. They just don’t care that we are unhappy and stressed about paying so much money every month for a car that annoys us. Despite providing them with multiple recordings evidencing the noise they still can’t fix it and just don’t care.Over all terrible and worst customer service experience we have ever had. If you don’t want to have any problem, just DO NOT BUY MERCEDES FROM MERCEDES BENZ OAKVILLE. There are lots of other luxury brands to choose from. 2010 Mercedes gL 350 engine went into limp mode in 5/2012 with 37200 just 5 months after the 30000 mile servicing. They attempted to repair it in their shop while I drove their loaner but failed. The car would not even start after they were done. Mercedes customer retention negotiated a buyback but on the day of the transaction they changed the terms. I am still paying for a car today that doesnt run.
S550 MB. 108k miles. Miss on cy 2. 5000.00 in repairs in 2 months. No resolve. MB of fort wayne cannot figure it out. This car costs over 90k in 2007. It has 120k miles. It has cost close to a dollar A MILE TO DRIVE! That is what you call Mercedes-Benz standards???
I went to the Rocklin, CA Mercedes Benz dealership to get a recall fixed on my car. I had a leak in the same place with that of the recall was in, so I thought it was that. We talked to a man named Wayne, and he helped us the whole time we were there. He said it would take an hour or a little longer, so we walked our three kids over to the park. By time we got back to the dealer, it was about 4:45-5:00. The man Wayne said he would check to see if our car was ready, then he pulled it up, leaving it running. We loaded the kids up, but my oldest was in the bathroom. So I went to get her. When I got back in the car, it was no longer running and would not start at all. We tried a couple times, and then, we got the man who had been helping us and told him what was going on. He came over and tried to start it, then he popped the hood. He started messing with the battery and said he thought we needed a new one. He said he was going to have someone come jump us. Well, that did not work at all, and as the tech was helping us, he noticed our seats felt real wet. The floors were wet too. Real wet. Still, I did not think anything of it. A few minutes went by, and another man came out, a tech one who works on cars. At that moment, they said that when they washed it, the sun roof was open a little and water got in our electrical gear and messed some electrical stuff up. So what I want to know is why did they not say that in the first place. They had to have a known cause. There had to have been water all over, when they opened the door. They had to dry it all up. They did not say anything to us and were going to let us leave.How did they know that fast what was wrong. They knew it had all got wet. I did not even know they were going to wash the car. I got my car back the next day (today). They came to my work and traded me cars, and it stinks so bad like mildew. I got a few opinions and have been told that it could never be the same. I dont know how extensive the damages are and what they fixed. They tried to get me off the lot as fast as possible, so it would not be their problem. But I know that I had my three kids and could have had my car just stop somewhere, and we could have gotten hurt. Now, I have a stinky car that I am still paying for, and I dont know if they fixed the whole problem.
Mercedes C300 - Having a multitude of problems, some are safety related. Does someone have to die in an unfortunate accident before something is done? It seems that the company is very aware of the problems, and one would believe that a car of such a prestigious reputation, wouldve addressed this issue promptly.
When we purchased this vehicle new and picked it up the problems started. The speaker fell out of the wall while I was driving home. I fixed it before my wife gets upset about quality. We took the van to Disney and water started pouring into the van from the roof. Took it in and they fixed it and left a dirty shop towel inside the AC unit, plus dirty finger prints on the panels. Door adjustment on sliding door was not correct. Door would rattle while driving. This was repaired at dealer when oxy sensor went bad. Then the egr valve went bad. Then the AC compress clutch failed and was replaced. They made us pay the labor. AC condenser cooler totally disintegrated and fail into the parking lot in a little pile of aluminum fins. The hide lines stayed intact. This was repaired as well.Paint on the vehicle at 8000. Miles started to chip off every time a bug hit it. Now it looks bad. I used touch up to hide it. They said they would fix it and repainted it, but they never did. Now the serpentine belt and pulley and tensioner are being replaced at my cost. This cost 800 dollars, but they were supposed have fixed this with the AC compressor repair. Anyway, there is more. My van only has 38,000 miles on it. Can you believe this. Mercedes has refused to assist and we have purchased 6 vehicles from them through the years. I guess the German quality is gone and they dont care either.
I just paid off my 2009 C350 2.5 yrs before the contract ended. I thought a refund would be issued for an adjustment of the interest charged. I was sadly mistaken. MEB issues NO special deals and charges you all the interest due for the entire loan during the 1st yr of payments. Car rides like a log wagon and when you take it in for maintenance, you are pressured to accept their service plan. I asked my girlfriend to take it in for an oil change and she returned home with a bill for $1150.00. I will never buy another Mercedes.
My car went to Mercedes Benz Witbank in August 2011, after I received it back from Mercedes Benz East Rand. The car was involved in a minor accident. After I received it back from East Rand, I complained about a noise in the engine. I booked it in to evaluate the problem. On the day that I was supposed to take it in, the alternator packed up. I phoned road side assistance for help. They left me next to the road for four hours, and then took my car to Witbank. The alternator was replaced but nothing was done to the noise in the engine. The service manager told me that I must drive the car until the service was due, which I did. On the 19th of October 2011, my car was booked for a service. I reminded them about the noise in the engine. That afternoon, I received a call from them, informing me that the hydraulic lifters needs to replaced. I was informed that it is not wise to drive my car like that, and they will only receive the parts after three weeks. They told me that I have to pay in over R10,000.00 as part of my contribution. I contacted my insurance. They are willing to pay my share if they receive a full report from Mercedes Benz. I contacted them and asked them for a report. They told me that they cannot assist me with a report, as it is confidential information. They cannot assist me with a loan vehicle, as they dont have any. I reported this to Mercedes Benz South Africa. After many phone calls, they told me that I must come and collect my car and drive it, until the parts arrive. I phoned the service manager and asked them for a letter, stating that if I do drive my car, that there will be no additional damage to the engine, and they must take responsibility. They agreed to that. That was 13:00 today. They promised me an email in 15 minutes. At 15:30, I phoned back and they told me they are busy sending the mail to me. At 16:50 I phoned again. The guy that promised me the mail, will only be back on Wednesday. I dont know what to do or who to contact.
You all have a little problem. You dont have a lawyer to fight for you. The only way Mercedes Benz understands you are serious about it is when you are filing the lawsuit. Listen, if you think you can win, spend the money and file your complaint with the courts and then send the outcome to the New York Times. They love to hear about the fights of the little people versus the big bears. Youll be amazed how quickly the office of Ralph **, VP of Customer Care at Mercedes Benz USA in Montvale, NJ call you back. If he doesnt, hire a big rat and put them in front of their office. I would assure you lots of fun doing this. Either they quit or they will make better cars. Remember, it is all a little game.

I will be in town this week. Will you let me know when I can stop by and with who to pick up my check with please. I have scheduled a Maintenance Appointment with my regular Mercedes Benz Service department. Thank you!05/04/2015- Resent Text message to **. No response from 05/03/2015. 05/04/2015- **, responded, Morning, I just checked and my accts payable said your check was mailed last week. No check received. Note: Vehicle Braked unnecessarily on intersection which could have caused an accident. 05/06/2015- Car Serviced at Mercedes Benz Sugarland for PreSafe Limited Warning Limited Warning light on and console replaced. (Service Advisor, initially wanted for me to take vehicle back to Mercedes Benz Greenway to get console replaced.) Note: Traction Light Intermittently comes on. 05/08/2015- Vehicle picked up from Mercedes Benz Sugarland from service department. 05/08/2015- Left ** Finance Manager several voicemails with no call back. 05/08/2015- I called back spoke to switchboard operator and I requested to speak to General Manager of Dealership. My request was denied and I was transferred to **, Pre-Owned Sales. ** stated that he would convey information to finance with no call back. 05/09/2015- BBB complaint # ** filed against Mercedes Benz Greenway. I was promised that I would not be charged $139,00, Nitro Tire Charge for my new vehicle purchase on 02/28/2015. I was originally informed by my salesman that if the check wasnt ready within the week that, he would have it ready when I pick up my registration sticker. When I picked up my registration sticker, I was then informed that it would be ready in a few days. When I messaged him later through the week I was informed that the check was in the mail. On May 08,2015 I contacted left Finance Manager ** several voicemails with no call back. I requested to speak to the general manager of the dealership and I was transferred to the **, Manager of Pre-Owned. ** stated that he would convey the message to finance with no call back on 05/08/2015. And it goes on and on and on so I am now asking for the assistance of the BBB.05/26/2015- Contacted Towing company via Mercedes Benz Roadside Assistance per ** and no Loaner would be issued. I was informed by Roadside Assistance that I must be present to sign although no signature was requested/required at the time the vehicle was picked up. (Vehicle stated Service Required, Do Not Shift Gears.) 05/26/2015- Left voicemail for ** that vehicle was picked up and towed. 05/27/2015- ** called stating that vehicle has not arrived. 05/27/2015- Left voicemail for ** and contacted Towing company per **s voicemail that vehicle has not arrived. 05/28/2015- **called and stated for me to contact Roadside assistance for location. 05/28/2015- Contacted Roadside Assistance and they would not release location to me without a Police Report. 05/28/2015- E-mailed sent to ** & E-mailed sent to ** stating I have contacted several team members as well as members of management and I have one issue that that I have unresolved. Informed ** that ** stated due to water damage that I needed to return the rental. I had never been informed of this as this had been my 3rd Mercedes Benz. Upon arriving was too busy for me as he was taking his son to WWF Event. I was able to convey with ** to speak with ** at Mercedes, USA, as the vehicle would be remaining with Mercedes Benz since with all of the Vehicle issues/Customer Service Issues. My vehicle was driven up to me to take as I was confused if it had water damage then why No Service Message Indicated on Vehicle Panel either. 06/03/2015- no call from supervisor from conversation with ** on 06/02/2015. 06/04/2015- Per ** Mercedes Benz finance need to Finance information to contact dealer for cancelation of extended warranty. 06/04/2015- Left message for Finance manager ** regarding cancelling all extended warranty, no call back. 06/04/2015- Spoke to ** and gave cancelation information, was informed that she would convey information to **.06/04/2015- Requested Cancelation from **, Finance. Informed him that I wanted to cancel any and all extended warranties. I issued him my fax number and said he would fax cancellation forms for me to sign. **, never faxed the documents as stated. 06/09/2015- Complaint Letter added to, BBB complaint # **. 06/09/2015- BBB Complaint #** filed against Mercedes Benz financial. 06/10/2015- Complaint #** filed with, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 06/10/2015- Received Mercedes Benz Check for $147.68. 06/11/2015, ** Regional Case Manager with Mercedes Benz called and left message stating that he received my complaint via the BBB. Following up: 1-800-367-6372 ext:**.06/11/2015- called ** and left voicemail, no call back. 06/11/2015- Filed complaint with Texas Attorney General. 06/12/2015- Spoke with ** from Mercedes Benz, awaiting follow-up. 06/13/2015- Filed Complaint with Consumer Affairs. I have suffered from from Mental Anguish and unnecessary stress, per the documentation above it clearly indicates poor Customer Service and that this vehicle is not safe to drive therefore, I have returned it in excellent condition back to Mercedes Benz Sugarland. I have made numerous attempts to resolve these matters however, Mercedes Benz did not cooperate in good faith.
I have a huge issue with MB. I own a 2006 CLS 500. This was my dream car. I wanted this car so bad but when I bought it, it gave me nothing but problems. More than twice my brakes went completely out. I could not stop or slow my vehicle down, red light flashed on my dashboard saying stop reduce braking power. Do you know how scary that is to be driving on the freeway 65-70MPH & have a car cut you off & you cant stop or slow down because your breaks completely shut down, shut off. There was another couple times I was driving at 45-55mph on the street and Im coming up on a red light and I cant STOP my car at all, the breaks lock up. I feel so lucky me or my family riding in my car were not injured. Twice MB had to fix the recall SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) on my car. Certain vehicles, the sensotronic brake control (SBC) system may prematurely shift to the hydraulic back-up function mode, due to deterioration of the wiring harness connection, or due to premature failure of the hydraulic pump.Twice they had to fix this problem. I dont feel safe in this car at all. But the icing on this cake is once I got my car out of the shop, I go to Costco & fill up my gas tank, come out from shopping and underneath the drivers side back, tire gas is leaking. Me & my family get in the car & it smells so bad of gas which isnt good for a toddler to breathe nor anyone to breathe in for that matter. So I take it right back to the dealership & they diagnosed the problem -- crack in my gas tank. So since Im catching on to all these car reviews online I do my research and come to find out that Im not the only one with this or these problems on my 2006 CLS 500. Mind you MB said the gas tank leak & replacement would cost me 3,000$ to fix. So Im doing my research and there is no recall, just complaint after complaint about this gas tank leak. MB insists if I dont fill up my gas tank all the way it wont leak. I couldnt afford 3,000$ for a problem I knew MB was responsible for. So Ive been driving around for 1yr & a half with a cracked gas tank.Dec 2015 Ive exhausted all my options. Now I cant register my car, the check engine light is on because of the crack in the gas tank. So I was recently doing more research and finally MB extended the warranty & is going to cover the gas tank problem after letting me drive around with a cracked gas tank for 1yr and a half -- doesnt sound very safe and reliable. Mercedes-Benz slogan is The Best or Nothing. I havent gotten the best customer service. Roadside is picking my car up today 12-8-15 & MB of Scottsdale AZ informed me since the gas tank is on back order 1-6 weeks and they can NOT give me a loaner car. But they are going to keep my car for 1-6 weeks till the part comes in & the service rep. informed me there is 13 people ahead of me waiting on gas tanks so really who knows how long this will take. I called customer service, they were of NO help. I called them a few more times explaining to them I will NOT have a car. How will I get to work?! They said borrow a friend or family members car (I live in AZ with no family here unfortunately). But how could this be my problem? MB service rep also suggested I can still drive my car till the gas tank comes in. But I explained Ive already used my extended registration from the MVD and I cant register my car without getting a smog and I wont pass smog because check engine light is on because of the Gas Tank Leak... MB customer service wont do anything to help. I asked them what would they suggest and they stay quiet!!! I NEED ANSWERS!! I cant afford to rent a car till when?! 1-6weeks?! They cant even give me a date it will be down, everything is just up in the air & Im ** out of luck.. I am NOT ok with the way Ive been treated dealing with MB. I thought it was The Best or Nothing. My problem still isnt solved. MB roadside is on their way to pick up my car & I still have no transportation. But my car needs to be at the shop so they can order the part. This is so ridiculous and absurd!!
I bought my 2010 E550 only 5 months ago with less than 23K miles. Since I have the car, I have been not less than 6 times in the dealer shop for repairs. Today, I had to call the road service as the car didnt turn on at all, I have been told by the gentleman that showed up that there is an electric element killing the battery and I have to bring the car for service again. The first 6 times I have been in the shop is because the volume in the media system stops working, I turn on the car and randomly the volume on the radio would turn on. If the volume doesnt come, I will have no Bluetooth system, no volume on the navigation system, any music, etc. They have changed the radio, the amplifiers, the Sat. unit, but still the problem is there. I am probably too fuzzy to want to have music while I am driving my beautiful car and I also want to have the navigation system to give me instructions when I need guidance.The problem is not just the non-existing volume on the media system once in a while; the real hazard here is that when the volume comes back randomly, it does so at the loudest possible. This is a very serious problem because that very loud volume may scare you while you are driving. It can really cause an accident. I have been told that the problem is the BlackBerry attached to the Bluetooth system but I no longer have the BlackBerry with me and the problem is still present. I believe there is another problem in the car and they cant figure it out. I would like to know if anybody else is having such a problem while driving an E-Series or is it just my moody car. I think if they cant fix the problem, they should get the cars out of the road. It is a very serious problem.
My 2017 GLC tailgate opens by itself while in my garage overnight. Today was the third time. The keys were in my pocket I never touched the fob. This time it did significant damage to the garage door and the tailgate. Have you heard anyone else having this issue? Second issue when driving less than 20mph the back camera clicks (activates but does not turn on). This is a new occurrence which I believe is related to the tailgate opening automatically.
2014 Mercedes Benz E350 4matic is a great car that needs the required maintenance to run at peak performance. Take care of the maintenance and it will never let you down. Would definitely recommend this car.
Down for service 9 times for wiring problems and sensor failure 2012 SLK350 with only 10700 miles On it. Asked for a discount on extra service contract. Because of repeated problems major system failure, they offered me 100 dollars off a 1200 dollar 3 yr plan they wanted to sell me over the phone. Their executives spend more than that on lunch with wine it was a INSULT. I asked for 1/2 price. No way! told immediately... I now have a rapidly depreciated car I cant get jack for with Carfax. I dont have a chance of getting a decent price if I sold it today!!! DONT buy Mercedes. Make the hurt a prestige auto. Their motto is THE BEST OR NOTHING. I SAY GIVE THEM NOTHING. I have all receipts from Mercedes if others have the same problems.
Since I purchased my 2007 E350 sedan, I have spent over $12,000 in maintenance and repairs. Specifically, to name a few of the repairs beyond the usual maintenance, in December 2011, transmission repairs in the amount of $2,219. In December of 2012, my car completely died at midnight at an airport 30 miles from my home. That repair was $3,539 for transmission issues. Mileage: 62,000. In January of 2013, the same problem occurred with car dying. This time they did not charge me since it had been repaired a week earlier. In August of 2013, another $2,354 for transmission issues, including mounts (same thing from Dec 2011). My car has relatively low mileage for a car purchased over 6 1/2 years ago. I have always taken my car to the Mercedes Benz dealer for maintenance as required and have kept up with it. All service records are at Mercedes. I find that these are exorbitant amounts to pay for a luxury car, with low mileage. I expected far more out of Mercedes. I will NEVER buy a Mercedes again.
2012 GL350 blue - An absolute nightmare of epic proportions. Purchased new from my dealer to drive to Georgia. Drove the following day to GA and back. Noticed oil all over my garage floor. Called dealer immediately and took in. Told loose oil line. This continued to happen four more times. Drove car very little. Had two other cars. One week before I was due to turn in was driving it and check engine light came on. Called dealer. Said couldnt get me in. To keep driving it, that it probably was just a bad sensor and happens all the time. I parked it over the weekend and didnt drive it. Following Monday took it to take my daughter to dentist, dash lights flash, power steering goes out, car is dead. Had towed to my dealer. Was told engine full of sludge. Engine blown and they can fix it for $30,000.00. Words cannot express my feelings in buying a $70,000 car and having a blown engine at 26,000 miles with no warranty. This happened in August. I renewed my lease and took to a certified garage for repairs. Came home to an orange notice two days before Christmas from a repo agent. I called immediately. No one would answer. Left two messages. Called MBFS said they were no longer going to honor the lease extension and want the car back. I explained to them the car is being fixed. You know where it is and have the whole time. They agreed. Such a horrible nightmare. Made all my payments. Fixing car which was not my fault to begin with. Have all records of leak from my dealership, also the oil all over my garage floor (lucky for me my dealership did provide me with degreaser as their solution to get the oil off the floor, which it didnt), also have letter from Mercedes wanting to take my car to their proving grounds in Ann Arbor Michigan; that they are running test on the Blue engine from 2012. I would appreciate anyones help. Too many details to list all here. Most unbelievable. So utterly devastated.
I been going through it with Mercedes Benz USA since 2017. I purchased a 2011 S400 in 2016 that one day just wouldn’t start out the blue. I sent it to the Mercedes dealer for repairs. For 2 months they told me they couldn’t figure out the problem. They said every test came back good but they think it might be the hybrid battery. I then was told it may be covered by a state warranty or by Mercedes. I started pricing the battery and it was roughly $5000. I was just preparing myself to pay. I continue to call and they continue to not have an answer for me but they kept me in a loaner for 2 months. Then one day out the blue my service rep called me and said it wasn’t covered under warranty. He told me that it was going to cost $11,000 for the repair. After getting off the phone with him to make the decision if I want to pay or not, I called back to see what that price covered and was told it’s for the battery. A day later I received an email with the statement of charges. That’s when I saw they need to replace something else. They need to replace the Power Electronic Module. I found this weird and called my service rep who was now out of town. So this when things really got fishy to me. I then did a google search about the part and found that it had a Service Campaign Announcement that came out in 2012. I then call Mercedes to see if my car was on that list to be replaced. I was told no I wasn’t on the list but later I called and was told just I was on the list. That when I asked why it’s not covered. I was then told it was covered because the warranty had expired. I told them that the Service Campaign for repair said it was indefinite. They said they had to call the manufacture. Days later I called corporate about the issue and was told they could give me a discount on a car. That they would not honor their Service Campaign announcement. I contacted the office of Consumers. They contacted Mercedes and was then told that they already replaced. We then sent the car fax report over that should it hasn’t been replaced. Mercedes at this point sent a letter back refusing to comment anymore. So they put out expenses pre broken cars and expect to to fix them when they break. They lie and steal from their customers. I have fought overseas just to be ripped off. This is not the American way!
We bought a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter RV and my one concern is that the cassis was Mercedes. About 8 months of owning this something is wrong with the turbo, dropped this off at Mercedes Melbourne FL after making an appointment 3 weeks out and this still has not been looked after 5 weeks now. Do your homework on service centers prior to buying, in Central FL there are only 3 service centers for sprinter. Go with a ford or Ram for an rv cassis they have hundreds of services centers!
The Car is reliance on computers too much and the price of taking your car back to where you bought it is too Costly. The cars are made from the cheapest parts they can make in China and want top dollar for the sale of the car. And the servicing of the car is too high you better off buying a car from Japan.
The Mercedes GLC300 is durable, safe and excellent price. The resale value is excellent. Availability of colors and other options are available and the maintenance cost every 10,000 miles is within my budget.
I have a c-class 300 2016 and the screen starts to get lines then it gets worse and turns black, I have taken the car twice to the dealer and they are yet to fix the problem.
My experience has been nothing but a disaster from both Mercedes-Benz dealership in Kansas and MO. They are very racist against people of color especially to women. Ive never been treated so bad. You never get offered the same services as other individuals. This makes it very upsetting that I purchased this vehicle. After the salesperson was confronted about his behavior now he wants to try and pretend it didnt take place. Yes it did happen and he needs to own up to it. He doesnt need to work with the public. I dont recommend purchasing a vehicle from them to be humiliated.
I lost my Mercedes E350 key. Ordered duplicate key, paid $100 for key and $170.00 shipping from Texas, I am not sure what kind of shipping they use. If I order two keys they said double shipping charge. So I settled for one. Key comes- it does not work. Call the dealer they said it never happened before. I need to get car towed. Call my insurance they sent a tow but he could not get car out of park. Then called Mercedes USA they sent a tow person. He said “I do not know”, finally I talk to dealer who got mechanic on the phone and gave him instructions. Car reached dealership, of course the key is wrong, got another key from Texas and it worked. It is amazing how after charging so much people can be doing such mistakes, no apology and no loaner. I was without car for 3 days after paying $300.00 for key and no fault of my own. I have Volvo and Lexus other cars, they never charge for inspection, but at Mercedes they charge me $29.00 for that also.
Purchased a 2010 E550 Mercedes in August 2018. I have been having issues with an odor inside of the car and the air suspension going out when the car is sitting. Mercedes told me to contact the dealership for a diagnosis, which is $195. And to ask them to help me cover the costs. If the dealership does not - to contact Mercedes back. The car only has 85,000 miles on it.

That is precisely the reason why I bought a Mercedes.A couple of months later I was looking forward to taking the car on our annual Penn State football trip. Everything went well on the way up but on the way home while I was traveling at 60 mph, I heard a loud bang. At first I was all over the road and there was a moment when I didnt think I was going to regain control of the car but I did, and pulled off to the side of the road. Not a good ending to the family trip. Thinking it was a flat, I was preparing to change a tire and then noticed that the tire was fine. Four and a half hours from home in the middle of nowhere and I had no idea was had just happened. After an hour or so, the car was towed to a Lexus dealer in Louistown, PA.Since the owner of the Lexus also owned an MB dealership, I assumed they would be able to fix it. I finally got a rental car and was home about 7:30pm on Sunday night. The people at the dealership called me at 8:15 in the morning and were very nice and sympathetic. They indicated that a spring broke and that it broke the axle boot. How is it that a spring breaks on a car with 42k miles?Unfortunately, they were unable to fix the car but set me up with a contact person at Mercedes Benz of State College and even called there to let them know my car was coming. It took about a day to get the car to MB of State College and that is when my experience changed for the worst.I found out that my third party warranty doesnt cover springs but covers everything else that was broken, but because it was a cause and effect they will not cover anything. By the way I was still two days without my car and more than 300 miles away from my car. I have owned a lot of cars and not one of them ever had a spring break. I was curious to know if this was perhaps a recall or something so I called MB of North America. On Tuesday at 4pm, I spoke with a great guy who took my info down and said I should hear back from someone in 24 hrs. The next morning, I called MB dealership of State College at around 10am and spoke with Brian who told me that MB of North America was paying for everything and they will pay to replace the other spring as well because that is the right thing to do. I was very happy and proud once again that I purchased the car. I thought; wow a company that stands by its product.On Friday, I called Brian to make sure that the car was going to be ready. He asked me if I have spoken with a Lindsay ** (Case Manager) from MB of North America. I had not, and asked why. Two hours before I was leaving for a 4-hour drive to pick up my car that I thought was repaired and the expenses were paid for, he indicated that Lindsay was confused and that they should not have said that they were going to pay for it. At the end of the day, the individuals at MB dealership of State College took it upon themselves to determine that if the car was certified before I purchased it they would get MB of North America to pay for the repairs. I was under the impression that my complaint got MB of North America to pick up the tab but I was wrong. Lindsay realized their mistake and what was going on and quickly offered me a credit of $400 to any MB dealer and that it will not expire. She sent me an email which said to contact her 1 week before to make an appointment. That was nice but Im still out $1,000 for the car repairs as well as a couple of hundred for rental cars. All of this due to a spring breaking on a Mercedes Benz with only 42,000 miles.
I decided to pay the car off, 2 months later. I call the dealer and I ask if I can pay at the dealer finance office. I was told yes. I drove 17 miles one way and when I got I was told Sorry we dont get the payoff checks. You should mail the check. Mailed the check with signature. They signed on 8/30 but by September 3, I called and ask why they did not deposit the check. We will, when we get the check. 10 times I told the guy, You signed for the 4 days ago. Finally I ask to talk with his supervisor and I got put on hold. They ended up posting the check 9/3, the title and the overpayment was supposed to be relist on 5-7 days. I called 9/13, and got the same 5-7 days. I called today same answer 5-7 days. The representative today was more helpful than previous 2. Will see if this time works.
I buy a GL 450 2013. I was happy until 12,000 miles the car began to vibrate rudder. I went to guarantee and the rotors were damaged and they change. They said the warranty did not cover. Well.. they change!! Now I have 38,000 and again were damaged. It is impossible that every 15000 miles the rotors are damaged, and I have to pay $ 2,000 without the brake pads. I am upset because I had Ford, Cadillac, and Dodge, and had never seen anything like that. If someone with the same problem I would like to know.
Diesel has a reputation for reliability and longevity. This is not the reality. I have owned every car brand from Buick to Porsche and have never been so disappointed as when I purchased a Mercedes. Dealerships were inept. Warranty was ineffective. Car lasted 125,000 km with extensive upkeep and then the repair bills nearly bankrupted us! Certainly NOT reliable. I would NOT recommend Mercedes to anyone. I would NOT purchase a Mercedes product again! Badly Done Mercedes Benz.

This cars performance and comfort of my 2017 c- class sedan is perfect for long trips. The dealership has been very informative and I am very pleased with having purchased a prepaid service plan since this is saving me money on increased costs of parts due to supply chain problems.
Mercedes E350 - I have had about 15 tires changed due to flats in about 15 months. This has and still is affecting my work and family life. I am a commission salesperson and this takes time off the streets when I could be selling and making money. It is affecting how much I am making because it reduces the time Im spending with customers. I am now missing my sons soccer game because I am waiting for roadside assistance once again. I have to change cars. I am leasing this car and I just want out of my lease. I am spending too much time in Mercedes service changing tires. Please let me know how I resolve this problem.
It is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement. Please read and think carefully before buying or leasing any Mercedes vehicles. My wife had always dreamed of driving a Mercedes. After months of shopping around for the best model, I finally surprised her with an E350 in November 2013. Unfortunately, within one month a bubble was formed on the front passenger tire and it ended up popping while I was driving 30mph on a date night with my wife. I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced and I was assured that this does not happen often, so they replaced it for free. After this first incident, I was a bit wary but still was optimistic that her car was safe to drive.About a month later, my wife was driving alone late in the evening on her way to a class when she hit a minor pothole and both her front tires popped. My wife immediately panicked, because she was stuck in New Rochelle, pulled off to a road late at night and had to wait two hours in the cold for a tow truck to come. During this long wait, she noticed hundreds of cars driving over the same road that were not affected. This was the last time she ever drove this car alone.Through the spring, I continued to notice bubbles appearing on the tires. In March of 2014, there was a bubble on the front and rear passenger sides of my car, which both had to be replaced. This brought the count up to 5 tires in 4 months. By April, there was another bubble on the front passenger which brought the count up to 6, so 6 new tires within 5 months. Im 52 years old, and have driven over a dozen cars in my lifetime and I have never experienced anything like this. Every time I would bring my car into Mercedes I was told that my car was safe and this shouldnt happen again.In September of 2014, around 9 months into my Mercedes experience there was yet another bubble forming on the front passenger side of my car. As usual, I brought my car in to be serviced and they assured me that this would not happen again. I was skeptic, but I needed a car to get to work, so I continued to drive the E350, which had become my car after my wifes traumatic experience with it.The winter was a long, brutal one so I tried to avoid driving the Mercedes as much as I could. Once the snow cleared up, I started to drive it more regularly and of course in the second week of March, I noticed a bubble on both the front and rear passenger sides of the car. Ive become an expert on these situations, so as per usual, I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced. Less than a week later, I was with my wife, and her friend who has a newborn child when the car hit a pothole on the freeway. The front passenger tire popped, and the three other tires had bubbles that had to be replaced. We had to sit on the highway, with a newborn child and wait 40 minutes for a tow truck to come and rescue us from this madness. During this 40 minutes, with the baby crying and my wife and her friend in fear that another car could crash into us as we waited on the highway, I observed that no other car had any issues driving over those potholes. My tire count was now 13 tires in16 months. 9 days later, I was driving home at night around 10PM and yet again another tire blew. Although Im young at heart, I can no longer deal with the stress and fear of driving this luxury car. I had previously owned or leased many different brands of luxury cars including Lexuss and Audis and I have never experienced anything like. After every one of these occurrences I called Mercedes and asked if there was any way I could get a new model car that wouldnt have this issue or end my lease short, and they continuously blew me off. After my 14th tire had to be replaced, I called Mercedes corporate to alert them of this issue and to my surprise they werent alarmed and didnt seem to think this was a serious issue. The regional manager I spoke to - **, who claims to not have a supervisor told me that the issue was with the roads, not with the car. Yet, when I asked him why this happened to me through every season and didnt seem to impact any other cars, he had nothing to say. So, please, think carefully before letting any of your loved ones or yourself drive one of these dangerous vehicles.
Are you experiencing a design engineering defect with your MB E350 which leaves black stains on the molding beneath your 4 doors? I have it on my 2014, and see it on almost every white E350 that I pass. It is caused by a drain defect in the doors, which MB will not even acknowledge. Their arrogance is beyond belief. Their answer to me was to use Murphys soap.
If I could start by giving them 0 star, I would have. But unfortunately youd still have to give them something. Let me start by saying that if anyone wants to see my email records or phone conversation records that I had with MBUSA, feel free to reach out and I will provide them all to you. I leased a brand new C300, full package just about 3 months ago. Starting the moment I played any music, I heard a noise coming out of the doors, mainly the front doors. So, I reached back the dealership within 2 days, and I said there is this issue with my car. Sure, bring it back to us and our shop team should be able to fix it for you, said the dealership to me. The car is brand new, and its under 100% warranty. Long story short, over the last 3 months, I was given a loaner car for about 20 days! 5 different times, they had my car to work on it, different dealership, and yet, they are still not able to fix the issue. The issue comes in whenever I use the bluetooth to make a phone call, listen to any music, or playing a radio. The shops have tried changing the speakers, doors, entertainment system and so on. None of them fixed the issue. So what I did was that I thought I could call MBUSA and have them get involved with this major issue.Irene **, Executive Referral Manager, the person who I started communicating from the first day, told me that, Were sorry that this issue is within your car, and we are here to help you out. Sure! So, she offered me a $100 gift card to a restaurant! My first reaction was that, Are you being serious? She said, how about a $200 gift card to a nice restaurant where I could take my friends and family for a night. My reaction to her words was just unbelievable. I said there is no way that a customer would say yes to this, where they have to deal a car with a broken entertainment system for 3 years! How would you want this to go away?Anyhow, I emailed her, and I noted the conditions that Im willing to go with at this point, which one of them was to have MBUSA buy back their broken car and give their customers money back. Irene emailed me back (and called) and said Sure! We are going to work on this and it would take about 4 to 6 weeks for us to go over this. I said thats fine. As long as I know thats the case.After 5 weeks exact, she called me and said, We are unable to buy back your car and it is what it is. There is nothing we could do at this point! So, I discussed with her over the phone that, How would you even say that? There is 100% something wrong with the car you support in your region, and you say that you cant do nothing? She, again, said, We are sorry it is what it is and hang up the phone! In the middle of our conversation, she said her own words and hang up the phone! As easy/crazy as it sounds like. So, I got really upset, and I emailed her that, We were talking I believe, and you hang up the phone on me. That is not nice in no business environment. This is no buy it and you are on your own - This is The best or nothing. So after she received my email, she calls me back in 2 hours and said, Im sorry that the answer is not what I thought it would be, but there is nothing I could do. I asked for her managers name or email address where I could talk to them instead. And she refused to provide any. So I emailed the day after, 3 times, and no response. Also, I am not going to reply to your emails after this. So, long story short, please do a bit research on the type of car you want to go with, and make sure you dont have to deal with these people. They are very rude, unprofessional, and untrustworthy and unreliable. I am, in fact going to make legal actions about this and as I have been told, this car is an easy 100% lemon law buy back, by the California laws. MBUSA just dont want to take it the easy way. Just remember, first they tried offering me a $100 gift card to a restaurant and have me let go of this case. Thank you.
CLEARLY MANUFACTURER PROBLEM!!! Traded in my 2011 Mercedes Benz E350 for a 2016 Mercedes Benz E350; my favorite vehicle and fourth one I have owned. I only drive it on the weekends, Since the purchase in May of 2019. I have driven the 2016 probably 10 times on Sundays to church. It has never left the state of Georgia. Upon returning from being at Church all day Sunday February 16, 2020 730 am to 730pm. I parked the car in my garage, an hour or so later I realized I forgot something in the car. Hearing a crackling noise I began to look at the golf cart charger and the only other thing in my garage, the car. The rear window had completely shattered! it appears as though the sealant is missing from the upper left and right corners of the rear of the vehicle. MICHAEL G OF Mercedes tells me there is nothing they can do since there arent any open recalls. I have never seen such a thing! **
2003 C240 - Rust, rust, rust. The sunroof was repainted, but all the rust came back. Rust on hood ornament all around it. Rust by the doors. Just a nightmare and the dealership Hohen would only paint the sunroof. In this economy, gas is bad enough but now you have a car rusting in front of your eyes because of a lousy paint job and no one wants to do anything about it! Man, we got screwed.
Recently I was involved in a car accident with my 2015 S550 and damaged the driver quarter panel. I wasnt too concerned because I was in good hands with Mercedes Benz and knew I would be getting my car repaired in no time. WRONG! My car was towed to Mercedes Benz of Fort Lauderdale Collision center for inspection on 10/24/15 and was quoted approximately 3 weeks to repair the damage. 3 weeks seemed a little lengthy but reasonable to repair the damage, especially for the hefty price tag I am paying Mercedes for their ELITE service.I figured there wasnt anything I can do but to wait the 3 weeks. I called them BACK AFTER ALMOST 4 WEEKS PAST to follow up and the person I spoke with chuckled and told me it would take another 2 weeks because he said it was a lot of work and take time. He made it seem like it was such a daunting task that was going to be almost impossible to get done. Honestly, isnt their job to repair cars all day, specifically Mercedes Benz? A full month had past already and it appeared that it was JUST SITTING THERE waiting for parts to come in, insurance BS, etc. (I cant remember all the excuses they gave me). I am beyond frustrated at this point because I am paying $1800/mo for my car to sit there at Mercedes while everyone seems to just drag their feet as well as pay for a rental car for almost 3 months. Every 2 weeks I get a call with the same BS, it is going to be another 2 weeks.It has now been 2.5 months and my car is still not done. The 2nd to last time they called they even insulted me with hopefully by next year. Of course I wasnt too happy and had no choice but to wait for their lazy employees to take their precious time. A couple weeks went by and the same guy called with the same story, they needed another 2 weeks to complete my car! Where is the luxury service that I was promised by Mercedes? Am I missing something here?Fast forward - It is now Jan 8, 2016 and my car has yet to be completed. I have now paid Mercedes Benz 3 hefty payments without being able to drive my car. What aggravates me the most about this whole experience is I would assume when you buy a $110K+ luxury vehicle that you would receive the ELITE service that is promised to you when you are buying it. Since it is already sold the service received has been nothing but a joke. I feel it is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement to let everyone know that Mercedes Benz does not stand by their quality of service as they advertise. The hefty price tag you pay for their vehicles is definitely not worth the price and level of service youre given. Save yourself headache and time and opt for better luxury cars out there.
Happy Saturday evening. My prayer is that Mr. Stephen Cannon reads this email and as president and CEO works to resolve this problem. I own a 2006 R 350. My problems started with the suspension air parts that cause the car to look as if it has a flat tire, when it doesnt. It looks as if the tire-rods or shocks have failed. With this problem, when one goes bad and you fix it, the other automatically goes bad, so you MUST change BOTH sides. This is not a cheap repair. Actually, nothing about MB is a cheap repair. Once I had that done, the CAM shaft went bad. For this my car has been in the shop for the past 3.5 months. Now after practically rebuilding the engine, the problem is still not resolved. It cant be resolved, because all the parts were manufactured bad so when you replace one part something else goes bad. Ive found online that most if not all of the 06 and 07 R class models have had this same problem, MB is aware and have not recalled the cars. Over $6000 worth of new parts and labor, yet my car is still not fixed. These cars or at least mine should be recalled and the owners should be reimbursed for this literal pain and suffering. I have been terminated from my job and unable to get another because I dont have transportation. This was not my first MB. I have had 4, but this certainly may be my last if I cannot get any resolution to this. I have sent 2 emails. This is the 3rd to MB and was assigned a case manager. She called me 2 times. Ive called her more than 10 times. All I get is a person on the phone that says, I see that you left her a message. Is this the number where you can be reached? I say yes and that ends the call. Ok she will call you today. I attempted to reach MB via a BBB complaint, but they arent affiliated. LOST WITH A R-CLASS LEMON. Its sad that you dont acknowledge that these cars are lemons, but then again you do acknowledge, because you have discontinued the model. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
Mercedes Benz 2005 ML 350 - On the morning of March 19th, I noticed a strong electrical burning smell from inside my car. Thinking it was something in my dashboard or with heater, I drove right to my mechanic. He at that time found out the cause of the smell was my driver side seat warmer element was smoking and burned an approx. 2-3 inch hole right through the leather. (I was utilizing my seat warmer on this cold 32 degree morning.) The seat warmer had also burned right through my long down jacket causing a large hole, approx. 3 inches on the back of my coat. Luckily, the coat protected my skin or I would have had a burn on my left upper thigh area. I went to the local Mercedes dealership and was told it would cost me approx. $1,400 to replace the warmer element and seat top. When asked why I was responsible, I was told I was past my 50,000 mile/5 year warranty. I am extremely upset and angry with this malfunction, and Mercedes is very lucky I did not get injured or have my seat catch on fire with my small children in the car.
Both ML 350 and ML 320 vehicles have problems with power starting fluid leak, which is a defect in manufacturing, also the 2006 ML 350 which has only 55,000 miles has a problem with the transmission for long time. The dealer of San Diego doesnt care to solve issues, they are looking to charge the customers as much as they can. Also all the inside parts are cheap and getting broken very easy for no reason. I advise all not to purchase those vehicles, and we should seek a legal way to protect the customers interest.
The Mercedes GLC 300 4matic has more luxury features than any other vehicle I researched and test drove. The surround cameras make it easy to park. It has all surround cameras, heated seats, and a comfortable ride that is adjustable to a more sporty mode. I like the seats better than the stiff seats of other makes. The auto hold feature makes it easy to brake and not have to worry about the vehicle moving. The automatic wipers make it easier to drive without having to worry about manually operating them. However, I would like to have air conditioned seats. I would also like for it to have a heated steering wheel since my hands are cold often. Also, Im worried about not having a spare tire even though it has run flat tires. Run flat tires tend to last much less longer than normal tires.
2014 Mercedes S550 4Matic - Humming noise between 50-60 MPH. Ray Catena of Edison, NJ kept my car for 4 days trying to figure out what the issue is. They said they contacted Mercedes and said Mercedes is aware of this issue. I will be contacted when there is a fix. I said can you put a date on the fix, they said NO. What am I suppose to wait 5 years for a fix? Dealer said to contact Mercedes customer service and be a Pain in the butt and see if they will declare my car as a lemon - well that didnt work. Mercedes contacted dealer and dealer said, they have duplicated this same issue in several other S550 and that it is a part of 4Matic system. Bottom line: Getting rid of Mercedes and never buying it AGAIN in my life. Stay away from THIS BRAND.
Towards the end of May 2013, I went to Mercedes Benz in Durban Old Fort Road. I wanted to book my car (2003 - S320 CDI) for minor repair and service. The service adviser Zain ** spoke to me and explained that the workshop is busy and that I should return on the 5th of June 2013. I explained to him that receptionist (the lady that does the booking) said that there was space for my vehicle. Zain insisted that I return on the 5th of June and so I obliged. On the 31st May 2013 I took my car for steam cleaning and body wash.On the 5th of June 2013, I returned to Mercedes Benz Durban to have my car repaired and serviced. I was attended to again by Zain. I explained to him that I was unhappy with the way my car was idling; it was idling rougher and louder than normal. There was also a small rattling noise in the engine compartment when listened to with a technical ear; I myself am a diesel technician by profession though I am retired. I told him about the car having a lack of power on takeoff points and smoking when going up hills. I also mentioned that he should attend to the fault that they had diagnosed in August 3-8 2012. Zain, the service adviser, started the car and tried to listen to the noises I had complained about. He said he did not hear any noise, and asked me where am I hearing the noise. I said that the noise he is hearing is exactly what I am complaining about. He insisted that there was no abnormality. At this point I had to tell him that this is my car and it is an S Class. It does not sound like this normally. He then wrote on the job card, Rattling noise in the engine, in a way that showed that he was not taking my complaint seriously. I then told him that the noise is not inside the engine but in the the engine compartment. He then asked me to relax, the technician will diagnose the fault; I must just sign the job card. I signed the job card and left in hope that all the issues that I had raised would be dealt with.A week later I received a call from Zain. He told me that they had diagnosed the problem that was giving me concern. He said that the EGR Valve needed to be replaced and that it is the cause of the idling abnormality I had noticed and it also causes lack of power on takeoff points and smoking when going up hills. I was happy with the response he had given me and asked him if my insurance would be able to replace that for me. He told me that he had already spoken to my insurance company and they said that they only repair the engine not anything outside the engine. I told him that it was fine, he should go ahead and have my car fixed at my expense.Two weeks later I received a call from Zain. This time he called to tell me that my cars engine had packed up while parked at the car park after the EGR Valve had been replaced and the car was left and ready for collection. They said I should come and have a look at it. When I got there, the car was on the ramp, the sump was off and smashed and one bearing cap was left on the floor. Rian, the Group Leader, accused me of having the car fixed before it came to Mercedes Benz in Durban because it was very clean underneath the car and he also suspected that it had been in an accident. I told him that I had never been in an accident and my car has never been fixed since the last time I had brought it in August 2012. I told him that my car was clean because it was steam cleaned on the 31st on May, Just before it came to them. I asked him why the sump was open; he said the assessor asked him to have it opened. He further told me that they have found 3 main bearing caps loose in the engine. I asked him if the checking of loose bearings was also an instruction from the assessor. He didnt respond to that question. He only said that the person who was working on the engine forgot to torque it properly. I asked him how was it possible for my car to travel 95,000 km with loose bearing bolts? He then said he wanted proof that my car was steam cleaned underneath. I then went to the service manager, Gerald, and told him that I dont understand how it is possible for the car to smash its engine while parked in the car park with the key not in the ignition. For me with my technical background, it sounded impossible. I also mentioned to him that Rian had made very serious accusations and that those accusations can lead to very serious consequences. I asked him to please do a full internal investigation in order to find out what really happened to my car.A few days later, I received a call from a person who told me that he is the service foreman. He said that the Dealer principal was not prepared to take full responsibility for my car though it was damaged in his premises and he didnt give any reason as to why that was so. He also said that if I want to discuss anything regarding my car I should speak to Zain, the service adviser. He then hung up the phone. This was very stressful for me and I thought that maybe they wanted to see proof that my car was indeed steam cleaned underneath. So I went to the car wash where my car was steam cleaned and they gave me a copy of the receipt. I took this receipt to Zain, the service adviser, and he took it and told me that he would pass it on to management. Seeing that everything had come to a standstill at Mercedes and management was now unwilling to help uncover the truth about my car I remembered that Rain had told me that my cars EGR Valve was replaced by an elderly black man. If I am not mistaken his name is Enock. I found out from other workers that, that man is unqualified, was not supposed to have worked on my car. I confronted management about this and requested a full report from every person who was involved with my car while in their premises before it was reported damaged. I also requested a report from the person who physically removed and replaced the EGR Valve. I never received a response regarding those requests.I heard that Enock, the mechanic who removed and replace the EGR Valve in my car, was taken in for cross examination by management but none of the findings of this were shared with me. I also heard that the workers were threatened that if they shared any information with me that they would be fired. So whenever I go to Mercedes Benz, everybody who is an employee at the workshop avoids me even though I am a customer there. I have phoned the service manager on numerous occasions and I have left messages for him but he did not respond to any of those calls. I then wrote a letter to him. In this letter I expressed that I have been trying to get a hold of him unsuccessfully for the whole week. I have since written three letters to them and have only received a letter from their lawyers as a response to my letters. I have enclosed all my correspondence with Mercedes Benz Durban.I am frustrated with the service that I have received from Mercedes Benz Durban and its management team. It has very little regard for its customers. It is not the first time that I have received terrible service from them. Last year when I sent my car in, in August 3-8 2012, I reported to them that the Mercedes Benz tool kit that is standard in the car as well as the pay as you driver device is now missing from my car and that the insurance company has tracked the device as last being operational in their premises during the period that it was with them. I was told that they do not know what I was talking about and no investigation was conducted even though I gave Zain proof of this from my insurance company (Please contact me for more information regarding this)I would really appreciate it if this matter could be investigated and for this issue regarding my car to be resolved quickly and amicably because I am now without a car and as a result I am very stressed.
Thanks to diminishing quality and outrageous dealer charges, depreciation on these cars is huge. If you avoid the hand grenades like air suspension, brake issues (2003-2006), exploding early 350 motors, and are prepared to never go near a dealer, you get an outstanding low mileage used car. I have a 1999 E320, purchased in 2009 with 45K miles, well under $10k. I now have 82k on it, and apart from a little A/C work, it has been trouble free and a pleasure to drive. Yes, oil changes are expensive at about $100, but are only required every 12k miles. I also have a 2007 CLK350 Cabrio, purchased last year with only 24k miles for under $20K. I have put about 10K miles on it so far, and it is as reliable and pleasant as the E320.
Mercedes SLK 350 2012: Bad burning like smell entering car below steering wheel. Reported this to M.B. Canada and dealer when I bought the car. I was told to watch for oil drops, antifreeze etc for 3 years. Finally I found how I could demonstrate the smell to the dealer, who kept the car for over a month and drove 2000 km. Could not find the problem. Car was returned and I was told that they are unable to correct this problem and one of the managers will contact me. It might take a long time. That was August 2017. I wrote many e-mails, but nobody wants to talk to me. I am very unhappy with the people representing M.B. I also contacted Germany, but no help. I also contacted M.B. Germany, answer - Contact M.B. Canada which I did with no help from them.
Our first Sprinter 2500 full size was a 2012 from Ray Catena in Union that was back for repairs 4-6 times prior to having 20,000 miles for problems with the DEF fuel additive shutting down the engine and leaving me stranded and towed at one time. Please lets not talk about the service department, unbelievable! Terrible! They offered to change my oil and do a Mandatory transmission flush otherwise it would void my warranty totaling out to $500.00 for both and then tried to hand me a bill for almost $900.00 and told me that the oil filter is a lambswool oil filter. When I went to my local oil change business in Eatontown, I requested the lambswool oil filter and they wanted to know why I would want that when a Mobil 1 filter came out from the last oil change at Mercedes Benz in Union, NJ. We made the mistake of buying another one a 2016 2500 Sprinter full size from Contemporary Mercedes Benz. This one had the alignment knocked out at 15000 miles and chipped up the tires to where there was patches of rubber missing and I was told that they could do a complimentary alignment but I was stuck with the tires that still shake the steering wheel. The air conditioner has not worked since we bought the truck and we have been being told that there is a fix coming any month now, since October of 2017. We are now coming into a second summer with the air not working when its over 75 degrees out and it is now May of 2018 and were told that they would offer us an extended warranty at no cost. MY QUESTION IS WHAT GOOD WOULD THAT WARRANTY DO IF THE CURRENT WARRANTY CANT FIX IT EITHER!!!! By the way we only have 23k on this new truck. I would have been better off buying a used vehicle off of a used car lot on the highway than a brand new vehicle from Mercedes Benz! What a joke.
Ive owned 5 Mercedes over my car buying experience and I can tell you I will never buy another one. I have a ML 350 BlueTEC (diesel) that has known problems with the vehicle. I just found out on the oil leaking near the rear main seal. I called Mercedes to ask why in the world would a car with 57k miles have a problem like this when Mercedes brags about how great an engineered car they make. I have spent over a week on the problem the dealer fixed the supposed problem to break another problem. Now they want me to pay for what they broke. CROOKS WOULD BE THE WORD I WOULD USE. Ive had several Lexus and no problems. Mercedes does not stand by their name and overcharges for everything. The customer service people just lie to you, point blank. DONT BUY A MERCEDES, BUY A LEXUS. CROOK, CROOKS, AND CROOKS.
Craftsmanship is superb. Fuel pump replaced at 85,000 miles. No other problems at 95,000 miles. Tires and brakes are expensive. I purchased lifetime warranty due to expensive repairs. Added expense for diesel additives.
I purchased a 2016 “Certified” Mercedes Benz GL550 with low mileage. Like maybe 22,000 miles? This is my 4th Mercedes I purchased and got serviced through MB dealerships. Two were new. Two were certified pre-owned. I did not even haggle with Silver Star Mercedes in New York on the price. I purchased a number of upgraded warranties, bringing the total up almost to $80,000. This vehicle was advertised as “certified.” That includes a 27 point checklist on the exterior of the vehicle. When the vehicle delivered to me, I sent pictures to the dealer within an hour of receiving it.There were a number of issues. I sent pics and contacted them, including the owner. The GM, Rob, got back to me and left a message. I tried contacting him back many times, left messages and never got hold of him. Finally, I left a message suggesting he text or email me a time he is available to speak. No response. So I contacted the owner again. No response. I live in Pittsburgh so I couldn’t just go there. Finally, I called a Mercedes Benz US customer service. They said I have to work through the dealership to resolve it. I told them I have tried and they won’t respond! So I tried to call Mercedes a Benz Customer Service another day, hoping another employee would be more helpful.Again, he told me I had to work through dealership for resolution. I said AGAIN that they won’t get back to me. They wouldn’t even call them for me and ask them to please respond. Like I said, this is my 4th Mercedes, with each getting more expensive! I was considering buying a G-Wagon, but forget it! I’m DONE with a Mercedes! I’m going back to BMW. I NEVER in a million years expected such a terrible experience from Mercedes! The damages were only about $1,500 to fix. My local dealer was appalled and got me an estimate. Never buy a Mercedes if you are buying a certified vehicle that you hope the company stands behind!
After I visited the car dealer to trade in my car to buy another, I chose a 2006 R 350 Mercedes Benz. After I test drive it I decided to go ahead and buy it, did the paper works, I was inform that I couldnt drive the car home that night, the report was they having a problem starting the vehicle, something to do with the battery. I try to resolve it but it kept doing the same thing, I think that when they realized it was not the battery but something more internal. Long story short, after I receive the car couple day after it was deliver, it would not start. Took it back to Spanos, they looked at it and said they didnt find anything wrong with the it. Thought maybe its just a one time thing, but after about a couple of days, the car kept doing the same thing until about three month of having the car, it stop working completely.Took it to my mechanic and thats when I found out that they actually rig up the gas pump with industrial glue, they reroute a wire in the fuse box because they didnt want to spend money to fix it before they put on their lot for sale. I actually took it to the Mercedes Benz shop and they were baffled that someone could rig up a repair and sell it to unsuspecting customer. Now Im stuck with a car I cant drive for months, it still in the shop and that to and injury they actually sold me the car way over Kelley Blue Book value, stole my cadillac for little or nothing, now Im stuck with a car with a bad repair. My only thing is I would like Spanos to make sure they repair these car properly before they put it for sale. They do have a bad reputation for doing stuff like that and I also like for them to fix my car or pay for the repairs they should have done before it was sold to me.
My E500 4Matic car does not run and the MB dealership wants me to pay 7500$ for a temporary fix. When I purchased it NEW it immediately went bad... I have paid over 12,000$ for the same issues and now I find out there was a class action suit against MB.. What I have been trying to get here in Florida is an attorney to start one.
Very good driving and comfortable roadster. Love the fold back convertible top. Has power and performance. Gets great gas mileage. Feel very safe and secure in vehicle. Would highly recommend. Only downside is it runs on premium gas and costs a bit more to service.
I recently bought Mercedes 2018 GLC SUV and really liked the car and upgraded the speakers to Burmester. Thought it would give me a good feel in the car with the music but I am totally disappointed with the audio system and I would rate 1 STAR for the speakers and 4 STAR for the car.

Someone rear ended me in Dec. They couldnt find a muffler part anywhere in the US nor Germany, and it was special ordered. Its now February, no news on status. Executive customer service says it sometimes happens. Is that the best you can do for luxury cars?
Our 2015 S63 Coupe has leather that is peeling back and shrinking on the dash. Granted this is partially my fault because we leave our black car in the South Florida sun for long periods of time, but a car that cost us $194k plus taxes should hold up a little better in the heat. Even though the car is still under warranty, Mercedes Benz USA will not cover the dash. Needless to say we will not be purchasing another Mercedes in the near future.
2015 C300 cracked a piston at 68,000 miles causing engine damage that is unable to be repaired. This car was serviced on time through an authorized MB dealer for 4 years. Car always ran loud and would not shift smoothly. These complaints have been documented for 4 years but MB failed to disclose to me that the loud noise was because of a manufacturing defect common in engines built prior to April 2015. Mercedes Benz authorized mechanic failed to recognize that the car was manufactured with inferior wrist pins which would ultimately lead to engine damage.MB knew exactly which engines were affected by this and failed to act. Engine failed after warranty ended. MB refuses to pay for any of the damage, even though they recognize that engines built prior to April 2015 would eventually suffer such damage. Parts (wrist pins) were modified in engines after April 2015. MB will not help with cost of repairs since the car is out of warranty. Since the car was taken in multiple times while it was under warranty, MB should absorb some or all of the cost to repair.
On June I bought a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. After about a week of having the car a check engine light was on, took the car to the dealer and after a couple of days the dealer told me the problem was fix and it was only a bad sensor. After another couple of week the check engine light was on again; took the car to the dealer and after about a week of having the car I was informed that the 4 fuel injectors had to be change. Car was good for about 3 weeks. After that once again check engine light went on; took the car to the dealer one more time and this time is was the fuel pump that was replaced. I express to the dealer I was very unhappy with the situation. After going back and forth with the dealer about the situation, they told me I had to open a complaint with Mercedes-Benz USA by calling a 1-800 number. I did that and after and received a call from a MB regional manager that told me they review my complaint and were not able to assist me with my problem and explain me that if I wanted to get something done further I shall get legal counseling because they were very firm on their position. After all this I decided to move the page and get rid of the car. I purchase a BMW, which I had always have for many years and never had a problem with. This whole nightmare cost me 30 thousand dollars.
I have owned several Mercedes vehicles through the years -all of the SUV size. In July 2013, I decided to downsize to the E Wagon which uses the low-profile tires. I have had nothing but bad experiences with flats and bubbles after driving the car for long periods of time. I am on my 9th tire change! Thankfully I have the tire insurance, but Ive asked Mercedes to change my tires to a better quality tire other than the continental tires they keep putting on my car and they refuse. I feel this is a safety issue, especially since I have two handicapped children that I drive around in my vehicle back and forth to school. On Friday this past week, my tire pressure suddenly went low on the driver front side. I drove immediately to the dealer and had him check the tires. They said there was nothing wrong with my tire and said my tire pressure gauge was off. They also said they checked all my tires and they were good. I took a ride on the weekend, approx. 80 miles and upon return home, late on Sunday night, my tire on the passenger front started to deflate. I called roadside assistance and they had to come out after midnight to change my tire. I went directly to the dealer the next morning and they said not only did they have to change that tire but the two rear tires have bubbles on them now. I asked to speak to a manager and they said there is nothing wrong with the tires, that its a problem of the road. Every time I come to this dealer, the waiting room is filled with tire issues and the service managers are telling all of us the same b.s.I think the Mercedes company should be investigated on this issue. Luckily I have the insurance, but this has taken many hours away from me at work and my family having to drive the half hour to this dealer all the time to fix this car. Not to mention how uneasy I feel driving this car is very hazardous. I cant get out of the lease, and upgrade. I tried, but I would lose so much money on the trade. It is not fair. I need help!
I have very bad experience with Mercedes Benz. I have two recalls. I have battery problem. It cost me $2,300. My car is 200K but the quality is rubbish. After recall, I have to walk to the North service centre from train station because they dont answer to my telephone call for pick up. When I check the rate of Mercedes Benz, it is 27th which is bottom. The past glorious time is gone. It is absolutely rubbish. Anyone buy Mercedes Bend I call he or she is HOKU, which means foolish people.
I was enticed by Mercedes to buy this car. I was told that there would be only 150 in the United States and that you could never buy the same model with the color of the anniversary edition. That was all fine. They did not sell the color and there were only 150 made. However!!! When the 2019 E400 came out you can walk into the showroom and buy the car with the same color as my 25 year anniversary edition. Very poor of the mercedes company to do that. I have owned probably 7 or 8 Mercedes in my life, and I have bought last one I will ever buy. The car has devalued a lot because of this. I am looking into filing with the Better Business Bureau against such lousy practice of such a large company. I will never buy another Mercedes and I will tell everyone to never trust what they have to offer. So please!!! In my opinion look elsewhere before you buy and overpay for a Mercedes... Look at Audi or BMW before you trust this company.
I will be very brief. THIS IS THE WORST SUV YOU CAN GET. Having this experience now I would love to get Hyundai or 2 of them for the same price and live a quiet life with money leftover so I can go to Hawaii. Problems, problems and problems, MBUSA is a worst dealership in US which does not even stand behind their products. My local garage was more helpful than their service. Just an example (not to mention legendary brake light socket problems), both of my front doors power locks have stopped working after 15 months (could not survive one winter in New York due to cheap plastics used in actuators or something). Even my Ford Expedition truck is better quality than ML350 and I have never liked Ford quality. BUYER BEWARE: STAY AWAY FROM MERCEDES BENZ. I AM SURE THAT CHINESE ARE MAKING BETTER CARS THESE DAYS THAN GERMANS. SHAME ON THEM. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEADACHE.
They had someone else’s information on my account that I was paying monthly for. I contacted them to no avail! Just canceled my Mbrace services today! Beware they’re horrible, I was paying monthly for a service that they made an error on Surprised that Mercedes Benz is affiliated with them. I didn’t receive a phone call or notification about the error. Thanks.
Took the car for a thorough checkup prior to the factory warranty expiration. This car has only 25,000 miles. Service agent said car checked out fine. She did some minor work. To my dismay 4 months later there is an oxygen sensor issue and the engine light is on indicating either sensor or a computer panel issue which could cost thousands. The service agent Lorena was extremely rude and even told me why dont I have my friend who tested this and found out, fix my car since its out of warranty. This is unbecoming of Mercedes Benz and she should not be working there period.
This car is overall a great car and I love it. I had a 1999 Mercedes before this one and was in a head on collision. It saved our lives. Thats why I got another Mercedes. The only problem I have is that its hard to change a tire compared to American made cars.
To all Mercedes owners, please note you cannot have a drink in your cup holder in your car. Because god forbid, if it spills over, it can disable your car and bring it to dangerous halt. My son was setting the drink back in the holder when the lid pupped off and the water spilled over the shift lever; and moments later, the car suddenly came to a halt with no warning. Luckily, there was no one near on the road; otherwise, there would have been an accident for sure. So, I did some research on line and found out I am not alone. This happens with all Mercedes models and it is an expensive fix. I called the Mercedes customer complaint line. I told them what happened. They said, “Take your car to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and will get back to you,” even though the person speaking to me was clearly aware of this problem since she mentioned it was an approximately $1,200.00 repair. I had the car towed to the dealer, and the technician called me back and said, “We have your car and will get back to you with an estimate.” I said Mercedes should take care of the repairs. Minutes later, another person called me back from the dealer and said he was the manager; that he was told I needed to speak to him. Anyway, I explained to him my concerns and told him that Mercedes should make the repairs and fix the flaw at no charge. Today, I got a call from the complaint department basically saying they are not responsible, and they will not help with the situation. I looked on the internet and know there are many people with the same problem, and I am determined to get everyone on board to fight this big corporation for taking our lives for granted for extra profit.
I bought my SLK 250 from an Acura dealership with 16k miles on it. I put less than 10k miles on the car before the retractable roof began to leak, out of the blue. Water was pouring into the car. Long story short, Mercedes told me the entire roof has to be replace and it will not look like my current hardtop. It will be all glass. The entire look of the car will be different. They have had my car for three weeks and the total bill is nearing 7k. To make matters worse, they reported my mileage as 36,XX* when it was truly 26,XX*. They promised a correction but a month later, it isnt corrected. So I cannot even sell the car because now the odometer does not match the Carfax. I am going back to BMW, and will never again look twice at a Benz. The dealership handling all of this is Lokey Mercedes of Clearwater, FL.
I lease a GLC 300 and after about one month my wife accidentally hit the mirror in a beam. Only the mirror connector broke, everything else is working normally, like the blind spot assist. Event the mirror glass is intact. I took it to the Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek (San Jose, CA). They told me and my insurance company that the expected repair time was 5 DAYS. I leave my car there and after 5 days I call to see if my car was ready. Then, they told me that the part is not available in the entire USA and would have to be imported from Germany, the new repair estimate is now 5 to 7 business days. In the meantime, Im still driving the rental car, and GEICO was nice enough to give me extra days with the car.After about 10 days that my car is in the shop I call again to see if my car is ready. And they told me Mercedes will not ship the part until June 1st, the current date was May 4th (almost a month waiting time). Then I started to asking questions like: Can you try to put the mirror back in my car? Answer: no, not possible. Can I have a loaner while I dont have my car back? Answer: no, loaner is only for regular maintenance. I called Mercedes-Benz Customer Service and after trying for a long time to get some help, they offered me a 45 dollars per-day refund with the rental car. In the meantime Im still liable for the lease payments.Around May 22, I call to see if there is any update, and in fact I had an update. The part will now only leave Germany in the first week of July. That day itself I went to Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek and got my car back. I drove all the way to Mercedes-Benz of Oakland and they were nice enough to give me a loaner (not nearly as good as the car I leased). I still dont have my car back and Im still paying the lease. This is my first time owning a Mercedes, and, as you can tell, my experience is terrible. So, of course, I dont recommend it. Their customer service is terrible, they dont do anything to alleviate your frustrations.
28 times in the shop in a year and a half. Radio, sunroof, and windshield replaced. No support from dealer or Mercedes. Car is slow and sluggish. The car has had numerous problems with leaks and the radio as well as other electrical parts like wiper delay not working, GPS screen blanking out, radio cutting in and out, etc.
I think the Mercedes is a great vehicle, sleek and fashionable. What a reliable car! My only concern is the cost of parts when things do get damaged or components fizz out. My reason for giving it a 4-star. I only got to drive this car for work once, wish it was mine!
I bought a new MB E350 2014. The car has spent more time in the workshop than with us. List of issues: Noise in the front of car, noise while turning the car. The biggest issue with the car has been getting flat tires on passenger side three times in 4-6 months time. The tire get bubbles and then get flat eventually. This car is only 7000 miles in 18 months. Dealership keep telling us that it hit a pit or bump and other reasons to get flat tire. This is my 4th car and I never had any issue in any cars where tires get flat every two months. I am very very frustrated with this car and would never ever in my life ever ever buy or recommend anyone buying Mercedes Benz.
