Mercedes Automobile Model 2015 M-class
I live in Pennsylvania and have a 400 ft driveway that go up to my house. My Mercedes handles so well going up my driveway that I do not worry about getting home. People ask me why I take my Mercedes out in the snow and not my 4x4 pickup truck. I tell them I trust my Mercedes more than the pickup truck.
It has been a very reliable auto. I have always like this model. Its a sedan and I love sedans. I bought it used at a good price. It drives very smooth and has good gas mileage. It is roomy too. The controls are easy to use as well. I like the color and the low maintenance needed for the car. Very dependable, great for road trips. A friend hit a deer. The damage was severe and it kept on running. The only downfall to this car is the cost of parts and maintenance. The repair always recommend only using Mercedes parts from the manufacturer and there is a great difference in cost compared to some of other vehicles. Finding used parts is hard and cost more. Even the oil change cost more than other vehicles.
Loved the comfort, the handling, the speed and of course the luxury of a Mercedes Benz SL500. The convertible was spacious even with a retractable top. The seats were very comfortable and the interior actually suited passengers and drivers of all shapes and sizes comfortably. I loved the safety features but I also loved that many were intrigued enough to learn more about the car and the comfort of the ride. However, I dislike the sticker price. But I enjoyed the driving experience. I was confident at every moment that I would have a safe ride, yet sporty and fast. It was a bucket list dream come true item to check off!
I wanted to post this to hopefully let potential customers know what to ask their dealership when thinking of purchasing a GLC 300. I apologize for the long length, but, think it will give some insight into the possible multiple problems. Keep reading: My wife and I purchased a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 4Matic in March of 2016 - - our first and only Mercedes. Within 6 months of purchase, the brakes starting to emit an ear piercing squealing when in reverse. We contacted the dealership and were told that there was a design problem with the brake pads and new parts were being worked on.In the interim, the brakes started squealing in forward as well. We waited from September, 2016 until the beginning of 2017 before new pads were put on. Later in the year we began to hear tire noise inside the vehicle. We had a second maintenance service scheduled and done on December 9, 2017 and informed the dealership of the tire noise. After their investigation, we were told that we needed to purchase new tires, although, the mileage on the tires was at 18,935 miles. The Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires on the vehicle are rated for 65,000 miles. At the same time, we also experienced a clicking noise near the drivers door. The explanation for this was noise coming from the high pressure fuel pump. Not sure why we didnt hear the same noise when the vehicle was brand new. Also, the brake squealing also started again. We were informed, after having to ask, that Mercedes was working on yet another fix, but, parts were not yet available. We are still waiting for the new brake parts. This was just a prelude to what was coming. On January 4, 2018 my wife was driving home from work. The vehicle began to shake, sputter, and she could not get the vehicle to accelerate. By the time she reached home, 8 miles, the car was smoking profusely. After contacting the dealership, the car had to be towed. We were contacted the next day, January 5, by the Service Manager. We were told that a call was placed to the engineers in Germany because this had never happened before, even though there are several posts on various internet sites that dispute that statement.Due to the dealership not having a loaner vehicle available, we had to rent a car from January 5 until January 15 this was reimbursed by Mercedes. On January 15 we did receive a loaner vehicle from the dealership. On January 24 a call from the dealership informed us that the torque converter had gone bad and needed to be replaced. The mileage on the vehicle at this time was approximately 19,500 miles. Finally, on January 30 we received a call indicating our vehicle would be ready on Thursday, February 1. We met with the Service Manager upon arrival at the dealership and reviewed all the issues we experienced with the vehicle up to that point. We then began driving back home. When we were about 20 miles from home, a check oil level indicator message appeared on the instrument panel. When we arrived home, I checked the oil level and found that it barely registering on the dipstick. We were instructed to have the vehicle towed back to the dealership. They started looking at the vehicle on Monday, February 5. They called and informed us that the oil had not been touched in any way during the torque converter work, but, they needed more time to determine where the oil was going. They will continue to investigate as of tomorrow, February 3.
I’ve leased my first “luxury” car, a Mercedes Benz GLA 250! Since the start it was not the best experience, I’ve should take note... The salesperson resigned and my ordered vehicle didn’t arrived... They assigned a new person two weeks later and then had to wait another 15 days until they asked if I wanted to choose from one of the new cars they had in inventory, since they didn’t had the options I wanted they’ve added the camera for reverse for free (they had to).First weekend I left for a mini vacation came back to a non start truck, couldn’t even get in... Called the roadside assistance and they had to come and start it... It was very strange, a brand new card having those issues. Took it in for review and it had “according to them” nothing wrong. Last year I went again on vacations, next morning wanted to go to work and again, didn’t start. They said this time it was the battery, replaced it for free. They made me waste half of work day. So here we are, 2018, last year of my lease and I just got back from vacations, and again! Yes again! It won’t even open or start. I’m so relieved that I get to replace my car this month and I’m so disappointed on Mercedes Benz.
I am contacting you on behalf of my brother who owns a Mercedes C220 CDI Avantgarde since December 2009. After being told that the galvanized steel is rusting on the rear wings, it broke down - unable to start. The garage replaced the alternator, water pump and the belts, but while returning home, some dashboard lights indicated another fault. He was told not to drive it as a risk of fire. Another garage re-wired it and told him it had been on fire previously. Once again, on the way home, the faults showed up on the dashboard so he had to take it back to them once again. Now, the garage is having to look further into the problem. However, when he got the car, he was not told that the car had been on fire. My brother is not happy because it has cost him 845 pounds. Until now, I would be grateful if someone can get in touch with him. Thanks.
Omg. Where do I begin. I had issues maybe 20 minutes after leaving the lot, and issues ever since. Car has been in the shop every month for the mere 2 months Ive had it. Asked for refund day 1 when I had an issue, and told they have a replacement plan. Bogus. Lies. Fraud. Deceit. Car in shop 21 days this last time... 21 days. Please tell me why a CPO vehicle still well under original warranty according to miles would need a new transmission-even if youd had it a year. Two or so months and new transmission dont add up. Even the service tech who worked on it said theres no way this car could have been inspected or passed inspection. Brakes, rotors, transmission, speakers, window motor guide, blower motor, steering wheel, and a bunch of other stuff. Are you kidding me?. Two or so months and all of this? Feel free to reach out to me. The selling dealership has done absolutely nothing... nothing... they act like its a big cover up or something.
Good car but have had some unexpected issues with transmission. Found out that’s pretty common for Mercedes. Very disappointed. Haven’t fixed it yet. Thinking of selling the car after a year. The car is very good but transmission jerking is getting boring and nobody is giving me a solution. Sent it to different technicians and all gave me different diagnosis. Haven’t decided yet what to do with the car.
Power steering is leaking on our 2008 ml350 with only 54000 miles. You would assume that power steering in a Mercedes will last longer than that. No parts available, have to buy a whole new steering wheel column $3500. Had to replace the lift gate motor at a cost of $2000. The power steering rack developed a leak causing the oil pressure to the unit to fail resulting in loss of power steering function. This vehicle does not have a warning system to alert the driver of this type of failure. A previous safety recall was issued January 2009 (safety recall #2008-120011) for 2008 ML 320s for a defect such as this. However, this particular vehicle was not part of that recall. We feel this part should last the life of the vehicle without failure.
Mercedes GLE 350 SUV - I experienced sudden acceleration that caused me to shoot out from an auto wash about 75 yards. A small tree stopped me otherwise I would have landed on a busy road. Airbags came out. All engine front totally damaged. I received minor injuries.
I bought a brand new, 2012 SLK350 on September 8, 2012. Within two days, a seat belt malfunction indicator appeared on the dashboard. I took it to the dealer on September 13 and was informed that the seat belt needed to be replaced, and parts needed to ordered/delivered from Germany. After multiple stories and repeated calls to the dealership about how long it would take, I finally got my car back on October 4th, almost one month of not being able to drive a brand new car that I had purchased for the proverbial $64,000. I called Mercedes Benz directly a few times and did not get any answer, other than an apology and that they would look into it. I am appalled by the quality, support, and service levels of Mercedes Benz.
Worst service ever! I recently got a flat tire and called Roadside Assistance for Mercedes Benz. When they sent me the FIRST guy he was so rude even went as far as saying HELL NO when I told him where I needed to be towed to. Mind you the only reason I needed a tow was because he was unable to put my spare tire on because he did not have the proper tools. So I called Roadside back. I let them know I needed someone who had the tools to unlock my tire (mind you this is Roadside for Mercedes so you can assume how annoyed I would be after someone who wasnt qualified was sent to me.) So here we go two hours still stuck on the side of the road, they send me out another tow truck and surprise it was the same guy from earlier and of course so charming I guess they rerouted me to you so I have to take you. I call Roadside imminently so that I can have someone else sent out AGAIN. Mind you I remind them that he must have the special tools that Mercedes requires to take the tire off. Of course they send me someone who AGAIN is not qualified. At this point I am livid and had been stuck from 7:30pm-10pm. Once they were unable to take my tire off the guy starts setting me up for a tow, and then informs me that the only place I can be towed for free would be the dealership which at this point wasnt open so would have been pointless but was my only option unless I wanted to pay 200$ to be towed home. Great surprise considering all that has happened at this point. Mind you I choose to discontinue my triple AAA account since they had assured me Mercedes Roadside was the best to have. What a mistake. I ended up having to call triple AAA and reinstating my account so I can get towed to my home. At this time it was 11:45pm still on the side of the Freeway. Finally speak with a Roadside rep AGAIN and of course A manager will call you back Tomorrow. Its been a day so BLANCA if you are reading this Im still waiting for your call. What a Joke Mercedes Roadside is. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Definitely regretting even purchasing one at this point.
I bought my Mercedes GL450 from Mercedes of Walnut Creek & ever since last year they replaced my battery & cables over $1800. My battery keeps dying every morning & I think is why killed my radio command unit. After 3rd battery replacement, I had it towed. The SUV is sitting with Mercedes of Walnut Creek for last 5 days & no one is returning calls, maybe because they dont know whats wrong with their SUV? & are avoiding me. In the meantime, I have to rent a car to get to work.
I bought new a 2011 E350. Every time the weather changes a few degrees, the check tire pressure light comes on and I have to take the car to MB dealership for them to add air to the tires. This happens often. They tell me everybody does this, not true. I have friends who have the exact same car and this has never happened to them. I cannot get any satisfaction from the service department. Has anyone else had this problem?
At the dealership I purchased my vehicle from, the sales associate, cashier, service and front desk staff are exceptional. They go over and beyond to make you feel important and welcome to own a Mercedes Benz.
I have been a customer of MB of Boerne Tx for a few years. I purchased my last vehicle from them. I will not be going back. On June 27, 2017 I brought my car to MB to check an engine issue. I utilized one of their loaners. I picked my car up the next day and drove to my house. I opened my trunk to grab my cooking cutlery which I had put there the day before only to find it gone. I did a quick check of everything else in the car and found I was missing two other items. What makes this so frustrating is I blame myself since this is not the first time Boerne MB employees have stolen something from my car. The other time, I reported the theft immediately to my service advisor Linda who gave me a complimentary wax job. She told me she had reported that theft to management. I should have emptied my car out before taking it there but I was in a hurry and forgot my cutlery was in the back.I did not bother to go back and report it because obviously nothing would be done or it would have been done the last time this happened and would not have happened again. The main reason I am providing this review is so other Mercedes-Benz owners do not make the mistake I made and become a victim of MB of Boerne employees. Empty your vehicle before you leave it with them.To MB management, I sincerely doubt I am the only one this has happened to since it happened to me twice. This would be easy to find out which of your employees is the thief or thieves. Plant something in a vehicle and track it. You will catch them sooner or later. You have lost my business but maybe you can prevent this from happening to another customer. Had you done this after the first time I reported it to you it might not have happened again. Dont get me wrong, I blame myself but even after the first time I thought I could trust you. More fool me... it has been an expensive lesson replacing my Wusthof cutlery set but it is a lesson learned. I will utilize MB of San Antonio from here on but my car will be empty regardless.
First of all, I wish I had known about this site when my incident first took place. I just want to share my experience with everyone so that people can be aware when purchasing a Mercedes Benz. I plan on speaking out on every single forum out there, and if it can help even one person, then I will be satisfied. I live in Los Angeles and purchased a brand new E350 in 2007. Just a few month after the purchase (around 10,000 miles on the odometer? ), I was driving down the freeway when the car came to a sudden stall. The engine completely died, and I could not get it started back up. I was in the second lane from the inside, and the freeway was full of drivers speeding at 70-80 mph. Unable to get out of my car, I watched vehicles behind me careening to a sudden stop or jerking to rapidly change lanes. It was truly a frightening experience.I called 911 to report the incident then AAA to get a tow truck. The CHP arrived within about 15 minutes to help divert traffic away from my car as I was at a dead stop in the middle of a 5-lane freeway. The officers alerted me that it is too dangerous to stand still in the middle of the freeway and that they needed to immediately move my car off the freeway. Since they didnt have towing capability, the only way for them to do that was for them to push the car from the back with their squad car while I steered towards the nearest exit. Without getting too dramatic, I will say that this was probably the most frightening experience of my life. Luckily, no one was injured, and the car just suffered a lot of scratches on the rear bumper as a result of it being pushed by the police car.I wrote to MBUSA and explained the entire experience plus access to the police records. They offered absolutely no sympathy. They didnt even offer a nice gesture by offering to fix the scratches which would have cost approximately a few hundred dollars - pocket change to them. They didnt see any seriousness to the incident. I could have been seriously injured, and I could have caused serious injury to other motorists on the freeway that day. The message that they were sending to me was clear: I am an isolated incident to them, so I do not matter at all. Theyre a big, powerful company with millions of other buyers, so of course they dont care. How nice. Im the familys third generation of MB driver, and I will most certainly be the last.
I received a safety recall notice from Mercedes in March 2017 stating that under certain conditions a very high electric current can flow through the starting current limiter causing it to overheat. This can defect can result in fire. As of today, July 13, 2017, Mercedes told me it has no idea when the parts will be available to correct the problem. The recall affects a number of Mercedes models manufactured between 2015-2017. Mercedes has a particularly torturous telephone system. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative it was clear that he could not have cared less. Meanwhile, I have a car that is greatly diminished in value in my opinion. We have purchased approximately 10 Mercedes in the last 15 years, including 2 within the last 2 years. We will not be purchasing any more. I called to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I thought they might be able to help or have additional information. The woman barely spoke English and kept telling me my VIN number was not in their system. She finally put me on hold for about 5 minutes and amazing she found the VIN. She was equally incompetent at providing any information or in telling me what her agency would do. I asked if someone would call or email me. No way - government workers are not there to serve you apparently. Close down this worthless agency.
While raining, I tried to use warm max, because I cant see clearly, and suddenly the sliding roof glass started breaking, and that was the first time I tried to use it. I am afraid I am in a dangerous car. I brought my car to maintenance, and they told me I have to pay SR6,931because it is broken, and not a factory disorder. They didnt trust me. My car is 300E 2012. Until now, we dont agree. It cost me 3 days with renting car to go to my job. I hope to respond immediately, for unacceptable event. The director of patient services at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh/KSA.
I keep my vehicles maintained on schedule. My 2009 C300 has just turned 80k miles. Upon using my car to go get lunch, it ran fine. Upon leaving lunch, the door lock and panel lights worked but the car would not start. At all. Had a local garage check battery first. Not the battery. Car then had to be towed 63 miles away to Mercedes dealer for servicing. They also charged $149 to diagnose the problem and a $20 shop fee (I learned this is for towels, lubricants and misc items. Mind you, this is a Mercedes dealership). $1500 later I will be able to pick up the car. In researching this problem, before having car towed to MB dealer, I see many other people on various sites with a c300 and with the same issue.I also can not get a straight answer about the recall for a past rear lighting problem. They say the lighting recall from 2014 is closed, that work will not/can not be completed. I was not aware of the lighting recall as I was in the process of relocation in 2014 and did not receive any communication. Very disappointed in Mercedes customer service and reliability. As a woman, thankfully I was not in the middle of nowhere when my Mercedes decided not to start due to a defective part.
My GL350, 65k mileages has a problem with check engine after I brought my car to the dealership for service B... Every time when I bring my car for service B, it cost over thousand dollars for services. They told me there is an oil leak with my engine and estimated over $6500 for repair. I dont know why the Mercedes car engine is not really good like its brand name and they did not warranty for that... Too bad.
I have a 2008 E320 that was serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Portland a few times. Unfortunately, they did not do the work they charged me for. I spent over $3000 in routine maintenance and none of the work was done. There is a HIGH turnover rate with the mechanics and service advisors. I get the impression that the manager is quite ineffective.
I recently leased a GLC 300 2020. From the first day of driving this vehicle a humming noise from the center console started up after approximately 20 minutes of driving. I was advised by my dealership to bring it in to the service dept as this is an issue. The service dept. told me that it is the new MBUX system that has been installed in these new GLC cars that gets too hot so a fan comes on to cool it down. They informed me that because the MBUX is so close to the engine that it gets hot quickly and that the fan has 3 speeds and automatically kicks in at the 3rd fan speech. Additionally, they told me this issue will only get worse in the summer and that everyone with this vehicle will be experiencing the same issue that as soon as they go into their cars this fan will start up right away due to the hot weather. Although the service department acknowledges that this is an issue for the consumer and that this box could be placed somewhere else in the car, I am told that at the moment there are no solutions and that Mercedes is saying this is normal. I contacted Mercedes Benz USA customer service where I spoke with a women named Kiara/Chiara and she was no help at all. In fact I had to chase her to down and call numerous times about this issue. She informed me that there was nothing that could be done on Mercedes Benz end and that the service department would have to provide me with any necessary documentation that I would need to take action. I was completely brushed off by customer service at MBUSA. This is a car company who does not stand by the vehicles that they are selling/leasing and will do nothing of any sort to resolve defective vehicles. Mercedes is supposed to be a Luxury vehicle but this vehicle is far from a luxury vehicle. The service dept. has informed me that others have come in with the same issue as me and from researching online I can see others are starting to report the same issue. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company as they will do nothing to fix defects and just claim its normal. A humming noise coming from the center console is far from normal.
2001 Mercedes g55AMG - I ran over a muffler in the road and destroyed two tires. After three days of searching I have found Mercedes no longer makes them!! How am I supposed to drive my car with two tires? I think Mercedes should reimburse me for my tow at the very least. Im on a fixed income and this has put me in financial trouble!! Please let me know what you can do. By the this will be my last Mercedes.
The Mercedes GLA is a great purchase. I have researched this make from child like time frame. I have lived and stayed updated on this make since I was 8 yrs old. This has been a childhood dream or bucket list now. The model is a little unfamiliar but its high in demand. I adore the sound system, sunroof access, capacity holding and the drive on the road. It runs well, and great on speed and brakes. On the other hand, the brakes could improve a bit and all models should be snow ready not just AMG style. I wish the colors were a tad more to choose from exterior and interior.
I have had 3 Mercedes previously but the Mercedes C200 CDI Estate is our first diesel. The fuel economy is excellent and as we do a lot of distance traveling we certainly enjoy the comfort and the road handling. Being an Estate find the loading space in the boot great for trips to Bunnings and for trips to the beach with grandchildren and dogs. Have already done 150 kilometres in 4 years and with regular servicing hope to get over 200 kilometres before replacing it.
I purchased a new 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van and at approximately 5000 miles I started having transmission issues. I brought it to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. Every time they tried different things from updates to the control module, replacing the valve body to even swapping out the transmission control module all with no resolve. They even had a technical rep come out and after 3 weeks in the shop it’s still not working correctly. I’m convinced that their technicians are glorified part swappers and they have no clue what theyre doing. This is my first experience with Mercedes Benz and it’s going to be my last because to date this issue has cost me over 25k in lost business from not having my van and Mercedes Benz could care less.
A range of problems from drive belt being replaced, alternator, the lights inside not working, clanking from the engine when aircon is on, rear end noise, the car sliding on acceleration (rear end) and then the car misfired and a near miss with a truck. Mercedes has fixed all other than clunky noises and aircon noise. They tells the car is safe, then why is it sliding on the roads and lacking power on acceleration. In the process of picking up my car an hour late from my workplace, they get me a parking fine. They then deliver it back to my home late also. They indicate they will pay the fine, I have confirmation of that. They have not, and the fine has increased. I receive paperwork advising no known issues, though the engine light code paperwork has the misfire in ignition coil noted. My guess is notice done as my car is still not driving well. I ask my complaint to be sent to their CEO. I have not received confirmation of this. Silverstar in Doncaster had advised me that my car is fine and what would I expect of a 2 year vehicle. They offer to replace mine with a demonstrator and inform me they will offer me 35,000 for my 50,000 car and I will need to pay them the gap of 20,000. The dealer principal recommends that yes you should go to consumer affairs. Poor service, poor quality 2012 c180, very disappointed. Here I am now driving a car that does not accelerate and with continuous engine noise and malfunctions. Level of safety felt: zero. I am now due for a service though do not want to be humiliated at a Mercedes Dealership in Victoria again.
I lease a GLC 300 and after about one month my wife accidentally hit the mirror in a beam. Only the mirror connector broke, everything else is working normally, like the blind spot assist. Event the mirror glass is intact. I took it to the Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek (San Jose, CA). They told me and my insurance company that the expected repair time was 5 DAYS. I leave my car there and after 5 days I call to see if my car was ready. Then, they told me that the part is not available in the entire USA and would have to be imported from Germany, the new repair estimate is now 5 to 7 business days. In the meantime, Im still driving the rental car, and GEICO was nice enough to give me extra days with the car. After about 10 days that my car is in the shop I call again to see if my car is ready. And they told me Mercedes will not ship the part until June 1st, the current date was May 4th (almost a month waiting time). Then I started to asking questions like: Can you try to put the mirror back in my car? Answer: no, not possible. Can I have a loaner while I dont have my car back? Answer: no, loaner is only for regular maintenance. I called Mercedes-Benz Customer Service and after trying for a long time to get some help, they offered me a 45 dollars per-day refund with the rental car. In the meantime Im still liable for the lease payments.Around May 22, I call to see if there is any update, and in fact I had an update. The part will now only leave Germany in the first week of July. That day itself I went to Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek and got my car back. I drove all the way to Mercedes-Benz of Oakland and they were nice enough to give me a loaner (not nearly as good as the car I leased). I still dont have my car back and Im still paying the lease. This is my first time owning a Mercedes, and, as you can tell, my experience is terrible. So, of course, I dont recommend it. Their customer service is terrible, they dont do anything to alleviate your frustrations.
I decide to change my Toyota 1999 Camry and buy well reputed car Mercedes E class. I bought brand new one (e 300 Sedan) in September 2009 with total cost of $80,000. On first week I give complaint that the left window is not sealed and make noise. They refuse to admit that there is wrong with car. At 50,000 km I get warning sign for engine on screen and it turn up that there is problem with fuel injector and they replace most of engine parts. At 90,000 km the car start to give a very loud noise sound at all speeds. The problem found to be with differential. It worn up. My Camry till now with me I never had window problem or engine problem or differentials.
Recently I had an issue with my 2011 Mercedes E350 sedan. The blind spot sensors were inoperative. My car had just lapsed in warranty. I took it to the dealership and they told me that I would have to pay to get it fixed. I contacted Mercedes Customer Care and they were very helpful in getting it resolved amicably.
The keys to my 2013 Fortwo Smart (**) car has fallen apart. The plastic key covers to open and lock the car has fallen off, and now I cannot lock my car whatsoever, and the key does not lock with pushing down of the three plastic cover buttons on the keypads to properly operate the vehicle. They are very poorly produced and made for this vehicle. The dealers cost to purchase a new key is $310 per key. There is no other place to get another key made for this type of vehicle. The consumer who purchases such a vehicle should not experience their operating car keys to fall apart from normal usage.
I bought a 2006 S65 AMG 2 years ago with 72000 miles. This car has been nothing of a money pit. I found the original owner and he supplied me with receipts for repairs that totaled $7000. Within the first few months owning this, I had to replace the front strut... $3000. One year later, the ABC system hose failed draining all the fluid and destroying the pump. Cost to fix this? $10000. I did get a Vehicle Master Inquiry from the dealership and this car has been constantly inside the dealership. For a $172000 car when new, this thing is a MAJOR embarrassment for MB. I later did research only to find other horror stories with Mercedes and their top of the line S series. I understand routine maintenance is needed on these, and was done on mine. Doesnt matter. They are still very unreliable cars. The Best or Nothing...? LOL!!!
Remote starter only works 1/2 the time. It gives you a error and tells you to try later. Called tech support many times. They get it working for a while and does same thing. Also you cannot remote start unless you have a 1/2 tank of gas or more. That is stupid. I always have to fill up to use the remote starter? I could understand if gas light was on. But that is ridiculous. Also run time is only 10 minutes. In new England cold that is not even close enough to warm car up.
I bought a new Mercedes-Benz C 220 on 22-09-2015 but, unfortunately, the car after reaching my home garage which is 300 kms from Dealer Showroom is not able to drive through. Its front doors are noisy from day one & the wind screen is always full with moisture thus reducing the day/night visibility to 30%-40%. After continues complain I have received only mail & call but no technician has turned up till now. Also the website sources show that the particular VIN (**) belongs to C220 model & year of manufacture 2006. I am surprised whether I had purchased a new car or a used car? It seems to ask for a replacement.
Bought New 2009 C300. Only has 40,000 miles. Biggest junk we ever owned. Driver seat came apart. Paint on front bumper cover and all door handles peeling off (all plastic areas). Dealer agreed to repaint. After 1 year its happening again (Color is Mars Red). Car went into lock mode and wouldnt start. Had to be flat bedded to dealer. Blower motor for heat/air burned out. SRS system set off trouble codes dealer. Said bad seat belt parts. Car is out of warranty and have to pay for everything. Never owned such a junk!Bought New ML250 Bluetec Diesel. Just turned 20,000 miles on 4/4/17. Driving down road and starting surging. Went a little further down road and surging again. This time smelling Diesel fuel. Started smoking from under hood. Car broke down. Had to be flat bedded into dealer. Dealer said Fuel leak and all other related damage from fuel spraying on engine is due to rodent damage and warranty is not covering anything. Want to charge me $4500 to $5000 for repair.I dont believe there was any rodent damage and the fuel leak was caused by faulty parts. We drive the car every day. It doesnt sit around. I also drove it all day on 4/4/17 and this happened at 2:30 pm after driving all morning. I opened hood on roadside to make sure it wasnt on fire. Didnt see any signs on rodent nesting or anything. The car is under warranty and extended warranty and they wont cover anything. This is terrible customer service/relations. We are done with Mercedes-Benz. We will tell everyone we know. What is the sense of having warranty when they wont honor it. Rodent or not. Fix it. Warranty it. Its called customer service. What about the oil leak recall... which we havent got. I say that ruined the wires or harness and the oil ate through and that caused the problem. MB wont own up to these problems. When the MB Rep called me back she agreed with the dealers decision. Terrible. We are talking about New Vehicles $100,000 worth of JUNK. Our lawyer will be getting informed of these issues. We also filed a complaint with NHTSA.
I bought a new 2012 CLK 350 MB from Myrtle Beach Automotive. Air conditioner did not work (came from factory not working). After 1 week in service center, I received the car back. I met with GM **, Service Manager **, and Service and Parts Operations Manager ** out of the corporate office in Jacksonville, Florida about receiving another new car, extending my warranty, or refunding my money. ** went on to tell me he had the power to do whatever he deemed necessary to keep me the customer happy and the dealership in which he also represented. Long story short, he did nothing but lose a customer for life. And now for peace of mind for me and wife, we are probably going to be spending another 3 to 4 grand on an extended warranty because we are concerned that we have purchased a lemon. I sure wish I would have read all the reviews before purchasing a MB.
I have had 4 MB cars/SUV and the ownership and dealers are fine but the financial department needs work. I just turned a leased SUV and then went on a vacation for a week. After going through the mail I saw the ending bill for the lease return. That was approx a week old. I forgot to sent right away assuming I have a bit of time. Within a few days they start leaving VM on my phone. I paid it like 2 1/2-3 weeks later and they still call daily. I made 36 payments x 4 different cars all on time and then they feel that over 10 days is late?? Relax and treat your clients with some respect. They need some training on the financial end.
Poor product and services of Mercedes - My car, Mercedes B-180, was driven only for one year and under warranty, refused to start. There was no ignition and was towed Away to Mercedes work shop on 20-9-12 at 7:30AM. Besides my two calls to them and three emails, nobody cared to contact me. Today I was asked for the second key as they suspect something wrong with the key and ignition. No courtesy car or compensation for travel was offered. Communication is standstill, besides the poor quality of the car.
I own a Mercedes Benz SL 500 (TRS680 GP). Earlier this year, the car went into your workshops ten (10) times before they were able to repair the distronic sensor. At 30,000 km, the car went for a service. Within 50 km after the service, the suspension collapsed and there was a complete failure of the brakes. Fortunately I was able to avoid an accident. The car was towed in to Mercedes-Benz Sandton (corner Rivonia & South) on Monday July 18, 2011. This morning (July 29, 2011), I went and enquired what was happening and I was told the parts for the suspension were due on the 4th of August.Only after the suspension was repaired could they establish why there was a total brake failure. If more parts are required, then I guess there will be a further 3- 4 weeks of wait without my car.The customer service center will not return my calls. (Lance)In summary, straight after the car was serviced, a serious safety problem arose – namely, the suspension and total brake failure occurred. Previous experience showed that repairs, namely the distronic, are not reliable and excessively slow. Please explain to me why I should not notify the relevant authorities on the apparent inability of your group to maintain vehicles in a safe and roadworthy condition.Your reply without delay would be appreciated.
Have been driving a new ML350 for about 5 months and just noticed that the warning for passenger rear doors that are NOT latched closed is only given after the car is in motion 6-7 MPH? Seems too late for anyone (young child) or maybe anything leaning against the door (hopefully seat belt will protect against falling out). I tried this, just barely closing the door (not latched at all) and no warning at all!I asked Mercedes Customer Service and my dealer and they both confirmed the door open warning is speed sensitive and only alarms/displays after the car is in motion, traveling at least 6-7MPH. I checked and they are correct. All other cars I have owned gave an indication (usually visually and audible) either prior to, or the moment the car was put into drive. Seems like obvious safety oversight? Did not expect this from Mercedes. Obvious Safety Flaw. Why hasnt NHTSA caught this yet???
At 2AM after being off for nearly 10 hours, the passenger seat of my 2007 GL450 caught on fire in my garage, nearly catching the house on fire and killing my dogs who were in the garage with the car. I reported this to Mercedes (MBUSA) and asked that they inspect the car because this was clearly a defect. The internet is littered with stories/complaints of GL450 seats catching on fire (Google GL450 fire). They said they would inspect it. After much prying, they never did an inspection. A friend with a GL450 called Mercedes to ask about these events that are on the internet that I had forwarded to her. They told her that no one had ever submitted a formal complaint on this, that they had never heard of that and she should not worry. This companys disregard for the lives of the people that buy their vehicles is appalling. You buy these cars because you think they are safe, yet when the company has been contacted on numerous occasions about a defect that has the potential to kill people, the company does nothing to fix the problem and lies to customers saying they have never heard of a GL450 catching on fire. Its as if they dont think we can search for things on the internet. I will never trust Mercedes again. I cannot believe they knowingly leave these cars on the road with seat heater defects that are literally like bombs going off when the car is unattended in a garage. This company has no respect for human life.
Im trying to get a rear differential for my 2007 E350 Mercedes. It has been, since Thanksgiving 2012. I cant get the part and they cant tell me when I will get it (actually, they have given me a few different dates - none of which were right). I called Mercedes Customer Service multiple times. They cant get me a part, cant even tell when I will get a part. I expected more out of Mercedes.
A year ago I purchased my first Mercedes, a 2010 Mercedes Benz, GLK350. My first foreign car. The car has been driven less than 3500 miles by me. I get into the car over a week ago and the light comes on in the dash (Frontal SRS/airbag). The car will not start. The AAA service came and tried to jump me, with no success in getting the car started. He tested the battery and replied and showed me that my battery was great. Your mechanic looked at the car, after I had it towed to your dealership) and Chris informed me that the battery was no good. (The mechanic stated he could not see what was wrong until I purchased the battery.) And wanted to charge me $500.00. We all know, with common sense, that comment was incorrect.I’ve always known, if I bought a foreign car, I had to know my rights and become very knowledgeable of the Model/Make. So I maintain counsel. I remembered the recall of the airbag and airbag sensor. I noticed the rear taillight not working (A possible symptom due to faulty pyro-fuse.) If the car has a pyro-fuse and this fuse is not properly working, there is no way to start the car. It is not difficult to change the pyro-fuse but the SRS system might need a reset. Also if the issue was at the pre-fuse box. The frontal module has harmed other electrical parts on my car and need replacement. Chris informed me that the problem was possibly the pre-fuse box and it needed to be replaced and my total cost is $1300-1400. He also stated that they were not sure that the pre-fuse was my problem. There could be other issues, but I must pay for the box first before they could find out definitely. I informed him of the recall and he stated the recalls had nothing to do with the pre-fuse box. I requested that he at least repair the recall items. The parts of the recall, he states, are pending. So I find people have died because of this recall, per legal counsel, including the defected rear tail light. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN.I AM REQUESTING THE FOLLOWING: For this service expense to be applied to either recall or manufacturer including the battery cost and replacement. Whatever sensor is faulty, the battery was drained. Return my old battery and the pre-fuse box. Make arrangements for a loaner until recall parts are in and replaced Hire employees who are professionally experienced, compassionate, knowledgeable, honest and not greedy to take extra money home to care for his family (per the attendant). If one possesses the traits requested, his sales will increase tremendously.
I have owned several Mercedes vehicles through the years -all of the SUV size. In July 2013, I decided to downsize to the E Wagon which uses the low-profile tires. I have had nothing but bad experiences with flats and bubbles after driving the car for long periods of time. I am on my 9th tire change! Thankfully I have the tire insurance, but Ive asked Mercedes to change my tires to a better quality tire other than the continental tires they keep putting on my car and they refuse. I feel this is a safety issue, especially since I have two handicapped children that I drive around in my vehicle back and forth to school. On Friday this past week, my tire pressure suddenly went low on the driver front side. I drove immediately to the dealer and had him check the tires. They said there was nothing wrong with my tire and said my tire pressure gauge was off. They also said they checked all my tires and they were good. I took a ride on the weekend, approx. 80 miles and upon return home, late on Sunday night, my tire on the passenger front started to deflate. I called roadside assistance and they had to come out after midnight to change my tire. I went directly to the dealer the next morning and they said not only did they have to change that tire but the two rear tires have bubbles on them now. I asked to speak to a manager and they said there is nothing wrong with the tires, that its a problem of the road. Every time I come to this dealer, the waiting room is filled with tire issues and the service managers are telling all of us the same b.s.I think the Mercedes company should be investigated on this issue. Luckily I have the insurance, but this has taken many hours away from me at work and my family having to drive the half hour to this dealer all the time to fix this car. Not to mention how uneasy I feel driving this car is very hazardous. I cant get out of the lease, and upgrade. I tried, but I would lose so much money on the trade. It is not fair. I need help!
Purchased my 2014 C300 a week ago. Has 10,000 miles. Traded in my 2011 C300 with 75k miles. Had 2 other previous Mercedes also, 2002, 2009. All had approx 75k miles when traded and NEVER an issue with previous 3 cars. 2014 has the ECO start/stop feature which if you research is not a FEATURE but a problem. Roadside Assistance tech who came out yesterday to try to assist me was floored when he could not even jump start it as he believed the starter was gone. He called Tow company, who also could not jump and gave same opinion, crazy that the starter could be gone! The ECO start/stop is believed to be the cause and if you read other problems it does a number on the wear of a battery and starter due to the excessive starting and stopping compared to vehicles without this!!! VERY IRATE AND DISAPPOINTED out of my new car for 2 days and everyone is sorry for my inconvenience.
Our first Sprinter 2500 full size was a 2012 from Ray Catena in Union that was back for repairs 4-6 times prior to having 20,000 miles for problems with the DEF fuel additive shutting down the engine and leaving me stranded and towed at one time. Please lets not talk about the service department, unbelievable! Terrible! They offered to change my oil and do a Mandatory transmission flush otherwise it would void my warranty totaling out to $500.00 for both and then tried to hand me a bill for almost $900.00 and told me that the oil filter is a lambswool oil filter. When I went to my local oil change business in Eatontown, I requested the lambswool oil filter and they wanted to know why I would want that when a Mobil 1 filter came out from the last oil change at Mercedes Benz in Union, NJ. We made the mistake of buying another one a 2016 2500 Sprinter full size from Contemporary Mercedes Benz. This one had the alignment knocked out at 15000 miles and chipped up the tires to where there was patches of rubber missing and I was told that they could do a complimentary alignment but I was stuck with the tires that still shake the steering wheel. The air conditioner has not worked since we bought the truck and we have been being told that there is a fix coming any month now, since October of 2017. We are now coming into a second summer with the air not working when its over 75 degrees out and it is now May of 2018 and were told that they would offer us an extended warranty at no cost. MY QUESTION IS WHAT GOOD WOULD THAT WARRANTY DO IF THE CURRENT WARRANTY CANT FIX IT EITHER!!!! By the way we only have 23k on this new truck. I would have been better off buying a used vehicle off of a used car lot on the highway than a brand new vehicle from Mercedes Benz! What a joke.
Any car but NEVER EVER Mercedes. Why am I posting here? To create consumer awareness. NEVER EVER MERCEDES AGAIN. Worst customer service ever. Mercedes Benz Canada is the worst company to deal with when there is a problem with the car. Complete lack of customer service and they do not care if you are a long time client. They simply don’t care. After almost two years no one is able to find the problem in my 2018 E 400 at Mercedes Oakville and Mercedes Benz Canada is not willing to do anything. After repeated visits for a problem brought to their attention right after we leased the vehicle it still hasn’t been rectified. We have had to escalate to arbitration but still no help because it is an intermittent noise that doesn’t happen every day. Despite multiple employees hearing the noise on multiple occasions they can’t fix it.Mercedes Benz Canada’s response to arbitration was pathetic. Their response was we are welcome to keep taking car back. They have tried to repair multiple times at an inconvenience to us and their only solution is to keep going back. No one expects multiple visits for a noise issue on a car that costs this much. We were so desperate to get rid of this vehicle that we even went and talked to sales department at Mercedes Benz Oakville who knew about the situation but were unable to do anything to make it reasonable for us to switch cars. They just don’t care that we are unhappy and stressed about paying so much money every month for a car that annoys us. Despite providing them with multiple recordings evidencing the noise they still can’t fix it and just don’t care.Over all terrible and worst customer service experience we have ever had. If you don’t want to have any problem, just DO NOT BUY MERCEDES FROM MERCEDES BENZ OAKVILLE. There are lots of other luxury brands to choose from. IF YOU WANT DETAILS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE feel free to contact us. I can even provide documentation and you can make better decisions when you are picking a luxury car.
2017 Mercedes AMG C-43. Car purchased with Dealer and MB Printed Brochure representation Equipped with 4G LTE wireless system. After (3) MB dealer service exams and 9 Embrace calls, am informed All 2017s have European 3G LTE systems that Will not work in US and cannot be modified. Many other buyers with same problem and MB refuses to exchange car.
First experience with Mercedes Roadside this week for a simple dead battery switch out was a cluster Got me hooked up with a 3rd party in Texas (Im in Florida). Took 4 MB customer care agents to finally arrange for the local dealer to bring one 4 hours later. Unrelated, just called customer service for recommended tire options for my S550 as the Pirellis they put on lasted 10,000 miles. Took 10 minutes to get a connection to a ringing phone that nobody ever picked up. Should have stuck with Audi. Not impressed at all!!
I have a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550 with 25k miles, and had to spend $6000 for a Remanufactured Transmission at Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale, Arizona. I called Mercedes Benz Corporation and a case manager by the name of Valerie told me that because I dont have any warranty from Mercedes Benz, I am on my own and kick rocks, they dont have to pay for the transmission. What type of company sells a product and when the product fails, they dont want any part of it. Please I need an attorney to help me deal with this issue. You tell me a vehicle that costs $100k to make needs a new transmission after 25k miles driven. Are you kidding me? Mercedes Benz has a lot of people in my situation. Can the Us Attorney General does her job? Can you please investigate Mercedes Benz and find out why they cost American Citizens so much money after buying their fake beauty cars....
After purchasing brand new 2016 c300, I had two major problems to my car. After a year, on highway speeds after applying breaks the car started shaking really bad. I took the car to my local dealer from where I bought the car. They said the brake pads need to be replaced. Second time, fuel smell started coming inside the vehicle while driving or when it’s parked in my garage. This time, the fuel pipe was leaking. Both the repairs were done properly by my dealer and I was charged $0 since the vehicle is still under warranty. I also got loaner car for the time my car was at the dealer. Very happy with the service provided by dealer and Mercedes!!
I have a 2013 e350 convertible with approximately 8000 miles. I have had a problem with the windows on both sides. When I close the windows, they do not stay closed. They drop down about 2 inches and cannot be closed. This causes rain to seep into the car and cause damage. I have brought the car to Mercedes dealers on 5 separate occasions and they were unable to solve the problem. They have now told me that they are working on a fix in Germany and can give me no timetable as to when it will be ready. They have refused to replace the car. They told me I should use a manual override to keep the windows closed. I feel taken advantage of and am pursuing recourse through the Florida lemon law. I would like to hear from others who have had this problem. Thank you.
I have Mercedes C 200 model 2008, I do all my services in the official dealer in Egypt. After 3 days of my last visit to the service center, I was in the oil station, left the cassette and the lights working then. When I returned, I found the battery was very low to start the car. I did a battery connection one time according to the owners manual but it didnt work. Then I asked the dealer to send a truck, after 2 days they told me that that they charged the battery and everything is okay but when I went there and after paying the bill, the car didnt work, then they told me to leave the car again. After 5 days, they told me that the control unit is dysfunctional and it needs 2 months to bring it from Germany. So how come this situation occurs in a Mercedes-Benz car with 50,000 km? How could I stay 2 months without my car? How come the dealer didnt notice that the battery needs to be changed in my last visit to the service center? Ive trusted this brand for more than 30 years and after this situation my confidence was affected.
I am having a dispute with my dealers service. I had my r350 towed on a flat bed by a contracted towing service provided by Mercedes-Benz roadside assistance due to a flat tire that had recently been plugged. Luckily, the car was been driven in town at a slow speed and not at highway speeds with my children in the car!Extensive damage was caused to the under carriage and to the BlueTEC line because of this tow. I havent been with my vehicle or even an offer of a loaner vehicle, since Aug 31, 2011. Neither the dealer nor the towing company are taking any responsibility for the damage. I have finally directed the dealer to just repair the bare minimum so the vehicle may be driven. This experience has tainted my trust in Mercedes-Benz. I have every intention of disposing of both my wifes r350 BlueTEC as well as my E63 AMG. These two vehicles are my 5th and 6th purchases of Mercedes-Benz products. You can rest assured that they will be my last. If your are interested in salvaging a once loyal customer, I would be happy to discuss the details further.
My Mercedes Benz C300 have been taken to several different location due to several different issues. I have complaint several different time. But, Mercedes Benz have yet to fix the issues with my car and others. The passenger seat does not move back and forth. The leather on my car seat is wearing out and changing color. My power steering suddenly stop working while I am driving. My turning mirrors light just stop working and the issues goes on and on.
I have a 2009 Smart car and the paint top clear coat is peeling off all over the car. If you google this issue, you will see that many of the Smart cars have paint issues, especially the red ones (which mine is). I called the Smart headquarters and I was instructed to apply for the Goodwill out of warranty process. I went ahead and got the estimate from their approved Auto shop and submitted that. I received a call today from Adam from the Mercedes-Benz headquarters and my request to have the car painted was denied. I saved for 3 years to purchase that car new. It now looks terrible and Mercedes-Benz has to know that this is an issue with their Smart cars. So, now I ride around in a crappy looking car. When people ask me how I like my Smart car, I take them for a walk around my car and then inform them that Mercedes-Benz will not back this issue up. I am very disappointed with their customer service. You would think that it would make more sense for them to fix the problem, versus me riding around in a crappy looking Smart car. Clearly, they dont care about their customers and keeping them happy. I would never recommend any Mercedes-Benz dealership. I should have bought a Subaru based on their excellent customer service.
This was the worst service department Ive ever encountered! My car had problems from day one and Ive been back nine times with my car out of service for over 50 days and still the problems remain. The service also put charges on my credit card that were completely unauthorised and to this day has never responded as to why they did that. Even the Santa Monica dealership is awful. I cannot wait to be done with this horrible lease and move on to a better company! I have been in touch with their corporate apartment and they have been just as pathetic. I always thought so highly as a Mercedes name but I realized its just a brand and nothing more.
Recently I had the misfortune of seeing what Ethanol can do to a very expensive auto. My Mercedes SL 600(12-cylinder) simply stopped running while on a major road in NJ. I was able to get it to a nearby mechanic who diagnosed a fuel pump failure. A new pump was installed and the car quickly stopped running while burning out the pump. It was towed to Mercedes where it sits for over 4 weeks after they installed a new fuel TANK... a fuel tank!! I believe the damage done to the engine is catastrophic and it isnt going to end well with MB. The tragedy is my 150K car has very low mileage since it was my toy. It never saw harsh weather and sat garaged every winter. Problem is Mercedes knows Ethanol is Hygroscopic and mixes with water. Being heavier than gasoline, this mix of ethanol and water settles to the bottom of the tank where it corrodes metal and rubber gaskets. Think about this; Ethanol that precipitates out of gas settles and the Ethanol now becomes concentrated to mixtures greater than 20-30%. Read up on what this % of ethanol can do to a motor and fuel system. The Marine industry has been living with this nightmare for over a decade...
When you paid premium price for purchasing and routine maintenance of a MB 350E, you expect a solid car with good quality. You would be wrong! My 2011 MB 350E has shown poor quality of materials. The control buttons of the steering wheel were wrapped with a piece of plastics and starting smearing. Moreover, the car seat cover has been torn apart, while the main driver of the car is lighter than 120 lb and the car has been parked mostly in garages. You can see that in the attached photos. I have never seen a premium car deteriorated so early so fast. It seems that the car was built with too many low quality artificial materials, or plastics, and not built to last! Maybe MB is expecting people to spend money every other year to buy a new one. Well, with such poor quality, people may have to to buy a new car in a year or two after an MB, but another brand!
The Mercedes GLC 300 4matic has more luxury features than any other vehicle I researched and test drove. The surround cameras make it easy to park. It has all surround cameras, heated seats, and a comfortable ride that is adjustable to a more sporty mode. I like the seats better than the stiff seats of other makes. The auto hold feature makes it easy to brake and not have to worry about the vehicle moving. The automatic wipers make it easier to drive without having to worry about manually operating them. However, I would like to have air conditioned seats. I would also like for it to have a heated steering wheel since my hands are cold often. Also, Im worried about not having a spare tire even though it has run flat tires. Run flat tires tend to last much less longer than normal tires.
Nightmare experience. Was so excited to get my GLA 2015 4 years ago. I had been warned about repair costs but it is outrageous! I was driving on the highway, the car stopped accelerating and smoke went out of the back. The check engine light never came on. I was informed that it needs a new turbo and a water pump, $4700, and there “might” be engine damage. Both have been replaced and the check engine light is now on and the car has been in the shop for two weeks. The mechanic does not seem to know what’s going on or when I will get my car back. I will be getting this disaster of a junk box off my hands ASAP... Total money pit.
I purchased my 2018 C300 a couple of months ago from a dealer about 90 miles from where I live and it is still under warranty, I am having a sensor light come on and the dealership says it’s not covered.
Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of owning my first Mercedes Benz. That was one of the big purchases that I wanted complete, once I finished college. 3 years ago I accomplished that goal and it was an exciting moment. Unfortunately, the experience of owning a Mercedes Benz quickly faded away after 3 years. My 2010 C300 doesnt even have $75,000 miles on the car yet and I have had to complete 3 expensive repairs on the car. Those dont included the repairs that had to be done before my warranty expired. 4/19/16 - Steering Lock Replacement ($1130 cost for repair), 10/10/14 - Blower Motor Replacement ($616 cost for repair), 10/10/14 Driver seat MB-Tex Replacement ($580 cost for repair). The reason for the letter is to vent my disappointment in the Mercedes Benz quality for my first car. Your slogan is, Mercedes Benz, The Best or Nothing, but unfortunately my experience has not lived up to that.
2010 Mercedes gL 350 engine went into limp mode in 5/2012 with 37200 just 5 months after the 30000 mile servicing. They attempted to repair it in their shop while I drove their loaner but failed. The car would not even start after they were done. Mercedes customer retention negotiated a buyback but on the day of the transaction they changed the terms. I am still paying for a car today that doesnt run.
I visited the Dealership in Tampa Bay, Florida Mercedes Benz of Tampa Bay to get a diagnostic service since the car was signaling a malfunctioning alternator. I had to pay the diagnostics fee even though I still left without them telling if the alternator was the matter or not because the sales agents asked for me to buy a set of batteries for them to be able to check if the alternator was malfunctioning. The dealer fee was 149 dollars and they gave me a discount so I had to pay for approximately 120 dollars anyways. I find it very hard to believe that a dealership cannot check on the alternator by using one of their batteries if mine were not good enough for the job, which actually I have not had any issues with. I was very displeased with this treatment. I will not recommend this dealer to anyone.
I purchased a new E-320, brand new, fully loaded. Hand washed from day one to this day. Driven only 14 miles/day! It has only 40k miles. I babied this vehicle and it is in mint condition. Looks like a museum piece! At around 30k miles the leather sit seams came apart! (???) Note that I have the massage package so you would expect a top quality leather. Dealer did me a favor and replaced it. Later I found out that MB *knew* about the upholsterys low quality they used. Now, at 40k miles the left side of the driver seat is peeling off!! Went to the dealer - horrible dealer btw - (MB of Nanuet RT 304 Nanuet, NY) and the service manager, without even looking at it said, Oh! Wear and tear not covered, sorry. Are you kidding me??? 40k miles? I weight 180 pounds, tall and slim. My neighbor has a BMW with over 80k miles, he weights probably 350 pounds and the seat look like new! Do yourself a favor. MB has the reputation but the quality parts they use - at least the leather - is horrible. Never ever again!! And also stay away form that horrible dealer. I plan to put a sign in my vehicle and drive around with a picture of the peeling leather and the name of the dealer who refuses to take care of it. That, based on the mint condition of the vehicle most likely will raise eyebrows. Shame on you Mercedes Benz!
Im not at all impressed with the kit you have replaced instead of a spare wheel... I am driving your make of cars for 20 years and never found fault, but unfortunately I have had 2 punctures in 3 weeks and each time the kit didnt work. My car is 7 months old with low mileage. This happened in a car park firstly and I had to call recovery the second time I was on the motorway and was stranded for 3 hours. The first tire cost €140 and because it wasnt the correct thread my pressures were out so I went to my nearest Mercedes garage and a new tire was €129.00 then the system balanced. Then on the motorway another tire at a cost of €150.00. All because this new kit didnt work for me.
My car was in the shop getting repaired buy Mercedes dealer and he spotted an issue with the paint, the clear coat is peeling off the car creating ugly patches. This is a known issue to MB since 2013. MB has been quietly fixing the cars and has even discontinued the Mars Red. My car is 2014 and has less than 50K. While it was in the shop Hendricks auto gave us an estimate of 5500 to fix the issue. MB said Henricks of Hickory were not OEM authorized so sent us the Hendricks in Charlotte whose estimate was 6500. Same company 2 different prices for estimates. MB called us and told us they were willing to pay 1500 prorated. Granted had we known we would have not bought this car, Mercedes knew though. The dealer even said the some of the local car dealers will still sell the damaged cars and tell customers to go to MB, he basically gave us a heads up that MB was not going to do much if anything at all. The local dealers are not the only one MB was still selling the cars with the MARS RED paint and did not discontinue the color until 2017, shame on you MB. I can say my dealer is someone I have been dealing with for the past 15 years. We have bought at least 10 cars there so I trust him. I am very disappointed in MB and have already decided to buy a Range Rover. I will no longer support a brand that does not stand behind their product and fleece their customers. This says to me MB does not give a damn because people are still going to buy, even their substandard products, the dealer basically said the MB dont care about their customers once the purchase is made. I am going to reach out to Action 9 news and have also filed a complaint with the BBB.
I had just changed my BMW 320i 2008 model to the new c250 2012 on the 25th of March 2012 and after 20 days, the local dealer, GNA, offers free maintenance for this model for the new buyers. This made me very angry that I specially asked for this. I think I deserve to join this offer.
My ML 350 which is still under factory warranty had some surface peeling off exterior door trim and buttons on the steering wheel. The trim issue is esthetic only but the wheel button surface peeling actually affects the same operation of the car because the buttons which control important car functions are not useable. The two dealers I went to for service were the Palm Beach and North Palm Beach dealers and both were well aware of the problem from other customers and both told me it was my tough luck as the defects were not covered by the warranty. One said it was from driving and parking in the Florida summer sun but as I unsuccessfully explained I spend summers in Colorado and garage the vehicle un-driven in summer. THIS IS MY THIRD AND LAST MB.
The Mercedes GLC300 is durable, safe and excellent price. The resale value is excellent. Availability of colors and other options are available and the maintenance cost every 10,000 miles is within my budget.
My wife recently exited our C300 MB to come back into our home. She came back to the car only to find it had driven off down our hill, thru our brick pony wall and finally thru our neighbors boulder ditch. 7 weeks later, the insurance company totaled the car. In the meantime we have been complaining numerous times to MB head office over the fact that the car has always exhibited a safety feature in which it shifts into park automatically whenever, and every time, the door is opened. The one time we needed it to, it didnt. Failed completely and now we have lost our car. What really is disappointing is the fact that MB USA has completely ignored this and frankly if this safety feature doesnt perform, then the next time the car runs away on someone, the results could be more tragic than it was this time. Shame shame shame on MB for caring so little to even address this with us.
I have had two cars now of Mercedes in 2 and a half years. The first one was one of the red ones that they have known about for 4 years and still carried on spraying with this faulty paint. I had not much success with the warranty procedure to the degree that they only wanted to respray the panels affected, this happen to be everywhere apart from one side I argued for a full respray as the car was showing signs of getting worse by the week. I got so fed up that believe it or not I traded it in and got another one. This one was involved in a accident that involved the bonnet needing slight fill and respray. I was told it at to go to a Mercedes approved spray shop so of it went to Looker of Maidstone Kent where the first week it was sent back to me on a transporter. I did not let it be unloaded as it had scratches and chips in the new paint work. Back it went for another week. I was called and told it was ready for collection and when I got there the bonnet was not put on the car straight and the paint work still not good. They told me they had resprayed the whole bonnet but this was a lie as when I spoke to the guy that sprayed it, he said he only went across 3/4 of the way, they also told us they had replaced parts, they hadnt. They also managed to damage one of my alloy wheels in transport which was refurbished. I still think I should have got a new wheel as there was nothing wrong with it when it went in. After week three I got it back. I am still not happy with it as when washing it I have a circular mark on the bonnet. I sent all my correspondence to Mercedes Benz and after 5 days they have told me they are not prepared to compensate me other than the free labor only offered on my next service. They cant understand why I am unhappy and have told me that I have to go to the ombudsman. This is unreal from a so called premium branded company. Anyone that can help me get this out on the internet as they seem to think they are untouchable by the man on the street. My main bit of advice dont buy a Mercedes if you are expecting a good customer service and after care. Poor poor poor.
Ive never had a worse telemarketing experience in my *life*. I received a letter from Mercedes mbrace saying my complimentary trial period for mbrace secure service would convert to a billed service (as Id expected) and I could call them to cancel that, so I did. After some of the usual Q&A, I told the guy to cancel it. He told me how great it is. I told him to cancel it. He told me how great it is again. After this went on a few more times I started saying just cancel it while he was still selling. He said I needed to hear why it was so great (not his words). This went on a few more times and I switched to say I want to speak to your manager. We went around with this a few more times while he continued to sell and I continued request his manager. Finally I told him one more time to cancel it and hung up.Then I called the number again, talked to a different agent, told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor regarding the other, rude agent. After a while a supervisor came on the line, sounded nice, but then told me I cant cancel the account until within 30 days before the trial period lapsed. The letter I received said nothing about this, and after a bit the guy said he could do it today (apparently a favor) -- but only after he tried to sell me some more! Of course he didnt phrase the sales pitch that way, he called it a reading a disclaimer. I tried a few more times to instruct him to cancel the service without effect, so hung up again. I don’t think I’m under any obligation to hear a sales pitch after I’ve given clear instructions – many times! This is not what we expected when we bought a Mercedes.
I am having the same issue with Mercedes Benz Walnut Creek, CA. My check engine light came on within a few days of purchasing the car. The salesman Jimmy ** says that the previous owner told him that when you put gas in the light went off and sent me on my way. I came in twice more with the same complaint only to be sent away again. A short time later the cel stayed on. Eventually I had to get my car registered and have the car smogged. The smog place so the cel on and would do no more work. He suggested that I take the car back to MBWC where I purchased the car. I had an extended warranty that canceled but was told it could still be used. I was given a loaner car for a month but when MB could not get paid with the extended warranty they took the loaner back with no charge. I thought this strange. I called the general manager to discuss with him. After he spoke with his people he told me what his people said but did not have an ear for anything I had to say. My car has been at the MBWC dealership since April and after calling AGAIN general manager called to tell me they had not realized my car was still there and that after a couple of days they would start charging me storage. The last attorney I spoke to told me I didnt have a case because the amount of money I would get would not be enough to cover his attorney fees. He is greedy. I am still making payments on my car. Also result of the cel being on the problem with the transmission was missed. I now need another transmission which I got an estimate of $2200+ and the cam shaft issue $7000+. I really need help. There is a lot more but so much to type. Is there anyone willing to help steer me in the right direction?
Best SUV for your money. Turns on a dime. Very comfortable. Stable in wet and dry weather. Good gas mileage. Has all the bells and whistles as far as electronics go. Very fast twin turbo. Clocked 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds. Lots of driver legroom for taller persons. Lots of storage space. Want to keep it forever!
We purchased a new GLS 550 SUV in 2017 to replace our 2004 Toyota Sequoia with over 200,000 miles. The Mercedes has been a disappointment from day 1. Terrible handling in rain and snow. The ride is stiff and uncomfortable. Expect to pay over $2,000 for tires every 20,000 miles. Simple oil change and service will set you back several hundred. We could never get the radio/nav to consistently work in spite of numerous trips to dealership. The best part is we leased this vehicle in 2017 and the lease expires soon. We are under our mileage since we continue to use the old Toyota Sequoia as it is more comfortable. We actually plan on paying the remaining 2 months on the lease and returning vehicle early since it only takes up space in the garage. Our next purchase will be another Toyota.
Mercerdes 2012 GL450 - I had to replace the Continental Tires with less than 24,000. I found out the MFG doesnt even have a tread warranty for these tires. These are the cheapest tires available for this vehicle. Mercedes put my family in danger with these garbage tires and I will never purchases another Mercedes again. I have never in 31 years of driving have I had to replace tires that were totally shot with 24,000 miles on them. The dealership and corp said this is normal tread life!!!! We have always had Lexus in the past and Mercedes is not even close to the quality. Dont buy a Mercedes with these junk tires on them if you like your family.
This car is everything I ever thought. Reliable, dependable, smooth riding car, handles great on the freeway, strong engine load, great trunk space and beautiful sunroof. Beautiful body, great gas mileage and easier to handle grade on the road. Power windows, leather seats, heated seats season, 2 hand on the road, love to cruise control. Just love this luxury car. Will highly recommend it to others.
I purchased a brand new E250 convertible on January 23, 2012. Today is the July 23, 2012, my car has been rattling since it was 2 weeks old. It has had a new shock absorber, new bearing, windscreen replaced, bonnet re-aligned new parts to the A frame, roof greased, dashboard taken apart and now it is having its very own sound byte test. I will never purchase a Mercedes again. I thought I would be getting a beautiful prestigious car. Haha, how wrong could I have been.
I purchased an E class in 2008, and got the hard sell about the extended limited warranty from the salesman, so I purchased it for more than $3,500, believing what the finance manager told me that it would be refundable, if the vehicle was sold or traded in before the extended limited warranty went into effect. In December 2010, my husband decided to trade in the vehicle, because an illness prevented me from driving it, and I requested a refund of the warranty as the vehicles factory warranty would not expire until April 2012. The dealer referred me to Mercedes Benz USA and they told me that the warranty was not refundable, as the warranty only allowed me to cancel 60 days after I bought the brand new car with a 4 year factory warranty. I kept telling them that this did not make sense and the 60 day rule for the refund would logically begin 60 days after the extended warranty went into effect. Mercedes corporate absolutely refused to budge from their position, and have pocketed my $3,500, without doing anything for my money. I have been a loyal MB customer for 20 years, and have purchased 5 vehicles in that time frame, and I find it unacceptable that the big international Mercedes corporation found it necessary to keep my money.
I bought one brand new diesel Mercedes 250 C-Class and I want to know is it standard safety feature in countries where they keep left to have a pull to left if you leave the steering wheel? I complained to them and they are always so nice that I could not complain strongly. Besides, their team convince me its wonderful. This one year my mental peace has gone and I am using antidepressants (I am a doctor) to keep my balance. I have lived in USA, UK, Australia. I know about high-end cars. Now I want your help. How to help the Germans to improve their car technology? I want to donate my car to them to improve their technology. No conditions applied. They should not feel ashamed because I am helping them so that so many other customers will be benefited.PS. First month servicing, they said alloy wheel bend is there (are they made of alloy or alumina?), and slowly, one of the tires developed one bulge. Later, 2 more. Please help me to improve the great GERMAN MERCEDES BENZ CARS. NO CONDITIONS APPLIED. I ABIDE BY MY LETTER.
My husband, mom, and whole family drives a Mercedes for safety but I will never purchase one again. The software failed in my 1 month old car and they were so ruthless, demeaning and rude about it. I could find help or answers and they never provided caring customer service. Never again!
The car computer show Service B. I was asked to pay $695 plus tax. Within that service, there are several points checked, oil + filter and an air filter inside. If there are problems, I have to pay for extra parts and labor. The car is on warranty! I have never heard about any car on warranty to pay extra, until the car was damaged in an accident. The installed GPS within the Navigation System, has extremely old map data and to update, I was asked to pay $ 395+ tax. The GPS has very serious errors. 1. While driving on last left lane Hwy 427 North, close to 409, I was advised to turn left! 2. While driving already on Lakeshore Blvd, East of Browns Line, was asked to turn left to get to Lakeshore! I do believe, that brand new car has to have the newest, actual map data and while the errors are serious, the update should be free of charge, like with any mechanical parts on warranty. The GPS is not even close to GARMIN, where the functions are very logical and easy to use and mine model under $200 had lifetime update plus touch screen.
Horrible service by Mercedes Benz USA and Auto Nation - Car turbo/engine seized according to service department. Maintenance receipts were provided. Car only had 17k miles on it. 2016. They would not warranty the engine even though records were provided. Left me without a car and expected me to pay for it out of pockets over $8000. The car was drivable when I brought it to the shop, was there 3 weeks then they said engine stopped. Sounds more like whatever they tried to repair they caused more damage and Mercedes-Benz USA no warranty.
Had an E class and was concerned to drive it because no matter the size of the hole in the street we got a flat. Road side assistance was below par... Mercedes told us we should try the C class with bigger tires. The car is 7 months old and had two flats already. The last one was up state NY and when we call Roadside not only did it take a few hours to respond since the car did not have a doughnut they towed us to Albany, which was an hour away. The dealership was closed so we had to wait for the next day and we had to sleep in a hotel. There went my vacation. The dealership was great... MB Roadside operators suck...
I purchased my C280 with 7 miles on it. It was the car of my dreams and my very first new car. To make a long story short, five years after purchase and a lot of money invested in maintenance and repairs and no warranty, Ive been told that I need to replace the camshaft plugs, sensor, adjuster, balance shaft, engine mounts, transmission mounts, timing chain and seals. Not to mention, both door handles broke off a few months ago (and to think I blamed my children). Whats worse, the mechanic added that those problems are common problem in C class vehicles from years 2006 to beginning 2008. Basically, the Mercedes Benz company is aware that this problem occurs in their vehicles due to a plastic camshaft that was previously used. Why wasnt I told this while I was still under warranty? Why werent the parts ever recalled? I am so hurt because I cant afford the $5,500 repair on my dream car! The quality I always thought accompanied the luxury of Mercedes Benz is a joke and I cant begin to express my disappointment.
I bought my SLK 250 from an Acura dealership with 16k miles on it. I put less than 10k miles on the car before the retractable roof began to leak, out of the blue. Water was pouring into the car. Long story short, Mercedes told me the entire roof has to be replace and it will not look like my current hardtop. It will be all glass. The entire look of the car will be different. They have had my car for three weeks and the total bill is nearing 7k. To make matters worse, they reported my mileage as 36,XX* when it was truly 26,XX*. They promised a correction but a month later, it isnt corrected. So I cannot even sell the car because now the odometer does not match the Carfax. I am going back to BMW, and will never again look twice at a Benz. The dealership handling all of this is Lokey Mercedes of Clearwater, FL.
I bought 2006 ml350 suv. After 8000ml check engine lights. 50.000ml transm problem two time after then engine balance shaft problem. Problem never end until now. Repair cost to me about 18.000.00.
Dec. 2014 I purchased a new 2015 Mercedes 4matic C class. 2 months later I noticed the engine sounded loud and popping sound near the wheel area when turning. Took it in to dealer who said the engine sound was normal and couldnt hear any noise in the wheel area. 4 months following I took it back for the same thing but to a different dealership who heard the noise. 3 weeks later my new car has had engine mounts replaced because they thought that was the problem and is now having suspension shafts replaced cause they think that may be the problem. Thank God its under warranty, but I have lost confidence in Mercedes. My car is still at the dealer. I will not buy another Mercedes.
This car is overall a great car and I love it. I had a 1999 Mercedes before this one and was in a head on collision. It saved our lives. Thats why I got another Mercedes. The only problem I have is that its hard to change a tire compared to American made cars.
My Mercedes S430 2005, has been repeatedly stalling. Had my mechanic put tester on it and showed crank shaft position sensor. Bought the first sensor from NAPA which was a different color from the original. Dont know if that makes a difference. Car continue to do the same thing. Bought second sensor from AutoZone same color but displayed same issue. Im in the process of taking it to dealership. Very unhappy and dont have money to blow.
I recently purchased a 2016 GLC300 and am appalled by the Navigation System. The GPS gives a one mile prompt when giving turn instructions. I was in the left lane of a 4 lane highway and heard the prompt prepare to turn right... no distance stated... no arrow on GPS screen to show mileage before turn. The prompt is ONE MILE from the turn. I was almost in an accident trying to get from the left lane to the right exit. If anyone uses a GPS on your cell phone you know there is an arrow with mileage stated for your next turn. The GPS on the Mercedes does not have this so you have no idea when your next turn is coming. Then the next prompt is 1/4 mile from the turn. Way TOO little notice for safe driving. Its embarrassing to be driving an expensive car with your cell phone in the cup holder utilizing another navigation system because the Mercedes is SO INADEQUATE. If Mercedes wants to market to younger drivers, they have to catch up with technology. Oh... and another thing... my home address isnt in the GPS system. I was told the system is only updated every year to year and a half. Again... a cell phone Navi system is updated to the minute. Get with the 21st century, Mercedes!
I have a 1999 SL500. Car will not start. Dealer says key is failing and it needs a new key. Mercedes no longer makes this key. Car is inoperable. I’m waiting to see if Mercedes does anything. The customer care line offered me a 1,000 credit towards a pre-owned or new Mercedes for 2 years. What am I going to do with that? I have a car that does not run and cannot be repaired due to their negligence.
2007 ml 63 amg - I have experienced so many horrible issues with my certified pre-owned amJUNK. First of all, for anyone who owns an ML of any kind should look into water leaking in from the rear tail lights causing major electrical problems which could cause an electrical fire. It will malfunction your automatic rear lift causing it not to work. I took it to the dealer 2 years ago with that issue and now I am taking it back for another water leak due to the 2 rear coverings. Caution, they dont take responsibility and DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR GERMAN JUNK ENGINEERING. 0 STARS, I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND THIS NIGHTMARE TO ANYONE!
I own a Mercedes C300 2015 and I have maintained my car with regular services as per Mercedes. All of a sudden my car starts shaking to the point is unsafe to drive on freeways. Somehow I took it to Mercedes Benz of San Jose and I was told that piston and connecting rod need to be replaced and gave me a quote of 11K and mentioned, We are not sure if problem is limited to piston, it can be the whole block but we can’t say until we tear apart your engine. This car is being serviced at the dealer and they never mentioned that early C300 have wrist pin issues in their engines and they have a service bulletin for the same. Mercedes denies to take responsibility for this issue. On top of that my AC smells like dead rat. Again my dealer never mentions anything about lawsuit against Benz. To all reading my post if your car AC smells like dirty sock/rat there is a lawsuit against MERCEDES and they will have to fix it. For all owners of C300 take your car to dealer and have them inspect your car for POTENTIAL PISTON FAILURES and have that written in your JOB SHEET for FUTURE. Mercedes has been the worst unreliable and they are lying regarding their known issues and then not taking any responsibility for inferior quality of their parts.
Great mileage, historically long life. I bought the current SUV after having a previous 4 door and now using a MB Sprinter Van as a work vehicle. The van has 200K+ miles and starts every day. The fuel mileage is a steady 23-24 mpg unless I have a lead foot. Im expecting high mileage from my diesel SUV and hope to retain value over time due to the brand name and purchasing a CPO (Certified Preciously Owned) vehicle.
Vehicle engine failed after this brand new vehicle had only 23 miles on it. Stunningly poor quality for a Mercedes. I’ve owned other MB vehicles without issue. But it feels as if quality control, from delivery of vehicle to end product, has massively deteriorated. My advice, buy another brand.
I have owned BMW, AUDI, FORD, MAZDA & HONDA. In 2013 I purchased a pre owned certified series 2011 ML350 from Mercedes St. Catharines, ON. Before the warranty was up all sensors died and the car went into limp mode. The dealer fixed this issue. Post warranty this is what has gone on the vehicle now. Timing Chain, Transmission, Oil Seal, Sensors Again, Seals for oil intake & filter housings and Transfer case for Transmission. I contact MB and they said sorry they could not help. I recommend that you never buy an MB product.
