Living in the Northeast and having purchased my third Lexus SUV I was quite angry to find out that the only way for the remote start on this brand new vehicle is to download their app and pay $265 a year for this service and other crap I dont need. All I wanted to do was auto start off the key fob but nooo. Starting in 2015 up to 2017 so far they have you hostage. Besides that ripoff I have a droid mini that does not support that app. So besides buying an almost 60k vehicle I need to buy a new phone. Screw that!!! There is no getting around that extra purchase so going forward I have to go outside and sit in the car to start it. Beware any future buyers!!! $265 a year for something that busts to just work off my key.

Horrible experience in customer service. I was calling to understand the bill and I thought I was speaking to a robot since the supposedly person only asked questions and when I requested an explanation only received, I will mail you the contract. After almost 20 years being a Lexus customer I do not deserve that treatment.

I just leased a 2017 Lexus NX 200T and have been driving it for about 4 months. I am very unhappy with the Bluetooth system. Previously, I had a Ford Edge and the Bluetooth was far better than the Lexus. I never had any issues with it. When I place a call in the Lexus, I will say Please call John Smith. It then pulls up John Smith as well as several other people and asks me to select who I am trying to call from the list. If it doesnt do this, then the other thing it does is when I say Please call John Smith, it says are you sure you want to call the contact? It absolutely NEVER just allows me to call someone without taking me through these steps. I have been to two different Lexus dealers about this. One told me it would take my new car a while to recognize my voice... OK, it has been 4 months and I went through the voice recognition set up a while ago. The other dealer could not explain it. Had I known this is what it is going to be like just to place a call, I never would have leased this vehicle as I am stuck with it for the next several years.

I took my Lexus to Wilmington Delaware Koons. They say that my SUV was in good condition. Meaning no problems. I took my SUV to New York and noticed that I need an oil change. None of my filter was ever changed. The oil was dirty. I mean really look like mud. New York stated to me that I may get oil flushed and you cant let your oil get this dirty. I was really, really upset. I showed him the papers from Koons where my oil was done less than a month ago. My filters was changed. Lexus Koons took my money and never changed my oil. Lexus Koons stated that my car need a harness wire. That would cost $2900.00 plus labor. It had problems starting. My brother cleaned my battery cables. My car has been running fine.

Lexus has a smaller selection of models than many other luxury brands, but what they do have, how can you go wrong. I would recommend this brand over others, I find it safer, easier to drive, and worth every penny. Depending on the size you buy will determine the amount of people you can comfortably sit within the vehicle. Most models are at least four adults comfortably. I love the heated leather seats, makes winters much more bearable. And the sleek lines of the car make it look good and help with gas mileage, which is great by the way. State of art sound system and navigational system. I want an alarm and a LoJack, no problem, the dealer added it on. I wanted certain floor mats, back seat heaters, tinted windows on the sides along with window visors, I got everything I wanted.

My 84 year old mother was driving her 2008 RX350 on a crowded street in Richmond, VA when the engine suddenly stalled at a speed of 35mph leaving her without power steering or power brakes. She was able to stop the vehicle but was stranded in an active traffic lane for over 30 minutes fearful of being struck prior to the response to her call to 911 for help. The local Lexus dealer diagnosed that the problem was a broken intake valve spring on an engine with only 76k miles. In spite of the fact that Lexus has identified that they had problems with faulty intake valve springs in the 3.5L engines in 2006-2008 they denied that that was a possible cause of this problem. Lexus agreed to cover a portion of the repair as a courtesy, but would not cover the entire repair, which will be over $10,000. I was shocked about how difficult the case manager from Lexus customer satisfaction was to deal with. It sure seems like they are once again trying to distance themselves from known problems. The only reason this car was purchased was the reputation that Lexus made a quality product and stood behind them. I found that to not be the case.

This is my first time leasing with Lexus. I have leased with Honda for 16 years, ever since I got my license at sixteen. I decided to switch to Lexus, but I must say I’m disappointed. I specifically asked the car saleswoman Danielle C at Tri County Lexus in Little Falls NJ if the LEXUS RX 350 FSPORT had panoramic roof and she said, “no they don’t come with that”. After making the deal I find out that they do. I basically have a Lexus with the same features as my 2018 Honda Accord, paying more than double the price. I’m very disappointed. I also wasn’t told that the 12inch screen was available on the Fsport as well. First and last time leasing with Lexus for sure. I could have leased a 2022 Acura MDX technology package with many more features and same price! Aside from the disappointment of service I encountered, Lexus is lacking on their technology features.

I have bought my car LX 570 in 2010. Im a loyal Toyota customer. My car originated from Saudi Arabia and I live in Qatar. Several problems happened to the car. There was a gear problem, then the rear AC and then the front AC got damaged. All of this happened and I had to repair it under my cost. This is a top of the line car. International warranty should be honored no matter where I go. Saudi and Qatar are neighboring countries, so spec are similar.

A little over a year ago we purchased a 1995 Lexus RX330. We purchased the vehicle as our first luxury vehicle with the hopes that the money would be well spent on luxury and quality of the vehicle. But after having the vehicle for almost 1 year we noticed that the dash started cracking along the front edge and then after picking my wife up from work one day a large chunk of the dash right above the radio broke off and fell to the floor. We immediately called Lexus and asked about having the dash repaired they informed us that there was a recall on the dash and to call Lexus about having the dash repaired. We called Lexus and notified them of the cracked Dash and they informed us that there is indeed a recall for the cracked Dash but they told us the date for the recall expired the day before we called. But that they would look into it and see if there was something they could do.We took the time to take the vehicle to the local Lexus dealer to have pictures taken. Have it inspected and sent to Lexus so that they can review it only for them to call us and tell us they were denying the repairs on the vehicle. So now we are stuck with a vehicle in which the resale value has plummeted due to the crack Dash. Im very disappointed with Lexus that they do not stand behind their vehicle or even offered to pay a portion of the dash to be repaired. If this is how Lexus treats their customers I no longer want this vehicle and will be trading it in as soon as possible. My wife and I were also considering buying another new Lexus because we did like the vehicle until we see that Lexus does not stand behind their vehicle quality at all!!!

Lexus has a range of vehicle models to choose from like the Lexus RX 2017, Lexus LS 2017, Lexus ES including SUV models as well. The Lexus interior fitments are well populated with rich wood and soft leather. The glossy shine of a brand new car rather new or used I have noticed that Lexus brand always are up to date. You can upgrade tires at any time if you ever run into weather events that may need changing of tires quickly. You can rely on the customer service if you ever need help with any model upgrades. When my friends tag along they always complement how spacious it is. Its almost like sitting inside a bus how much space you have to relax and do other things as a passenger.

I have this beautiful Lexus LS460 that looks great on the outside and always kept in the garage. However, when you open the door and see that the door panels and the dashboard have a gray looking film on them and are sticky to the touch it spoils the whole idea of LUXURY AND LEXUS being used in the same sentence. I called the 1 800 Lexus number and they told me there was a recall for this problem but it expired last year in 2017 and that they sent out recall notices. I have lived in the same house for 15 years (longer than I have had the CAR) and I have never received a recall notice on my vehicle. I am frustrated and looks like if I want to fix it that it is going to cost thousands of dollars to do so. I am very disappointed in Lexus! I thought they were a better company than that.

It also has nice sleek model with iron mesh and grand beautiful color with hand crafted Italian leather finish with good interior as well as exterior. Its easy to upgrade to any other premium line and its not much of the expensive or add upon any other features inside or out. Its big enough for as much as 6 people with huge capacity for people as well as the cargo and its useful for all the passengers in future also. So far, Ive never encountered any problems.

The IS 250 is a great ride that drives well making even those who dont love driving enjoy it. I love the way this car corners. We test drove the gs and es models as well, but they really felt too sedan for me. The SUV model rs was a disappointment altogether. The SUV has a nice passenger capacity. We however were looking for a sportier vehicle that still had room for a family of four. The IS model has just that. However, our two teens dont feel there is enough legroom in the back for them. But Im in love with my car. The smallest interior details really set this luxury line apart from others. The wood used is gorgeous and held up well. These details really add to the cars comfort. I also like the upgrade rims. They are stunning and add just the right amount of bling and luxe to the car. Other upgrades include navigation which we passed on.

When I bought my 2006 Lexus Hybrid at Vista Lexus in Woodland Hills, I purchased 100% money back extended service contract. In 6 years if there are no repairs, they said I would get back 2,025 dollars. I called Lexus and they said it was the dealership’s responsibility. I found out that Vista Lexus was sold and it is now called Woodland Hills Lexus and they dont keep records. It is funny because they have records that tell them to call me for service every 6 months and records that say my service contract is expired. I called the new owner of Lexus, Dede Anderson at **, and her attorney, Ms.Talara ** at **, called me. She said the insurance company that offered this contract is out of business but I could send my information anyway. But because it was past the 60 days for me to file for reimbursement, it is too late anyway. I was told by Lexus dealership when I purchased the contract that this was no brainer and I would get refund automatically, that Lexus was honest. I just want customers to be aware of fraud at all levels. Thank you.

Lexus GX460 is a great vehicle, a true SUV. The only negative is poor gas mileage coupled with a small gas tank; so many gas stops on long trips. Nevertheless, perfect size for four adults. Billed as a 7 passenger, not even close unless 3 of those are small children and you don’t have any luggage or bags of any size. With 4 adults you do have enough cargo room for 2 adults and 2-3 children.

First... Let me say that my Lexus dealership is fantastic. They were available and worked hard to solve my problem. That being said... My problem was with Lexus Roadside Assistance Program. At 6 pm I hit a rather large pothole with my CT200 which resulted in a flat tire. I got myself to a place out of traffic and called my dealership who told me I could call Lexus Roadside Assistance and gave me the # and transferred me. The call rang and rang... Finally someone picked up... Asked me if I was in a safe location (I responded yes) and said ok... She was going to place me back on hold, they just wanted to initially make sure I was not in an accident and was in a safe location. (My impression was high... Its a good process).I was then on hold for 20 minutes! I hung up and called back... Went through the same process... Another 15 minutes later I repeated my process and when the safety person answered the phone I asked him to please not put me on hold that I had been waiting for a while to speak to someone. He arrogantly told me that my situation was not priority and they were getting slammed with accidents and put me on hold.I called my dealership for advice... They were baffled and suggested I call AAA... I also ask them if the service manager who has ALWAYS been helpful, could give me a call when he got a chance. I hung up and called AAA and placed the request. In the meantime the service manager got hold of someone at Roadside Assistance and conferenced them in to me. At first the client service rep was seemingly irritated, but then calmed down and took my information and told me hed call AAA. I told him I had already done that. I must say that the ticket placed by Lexus was answered prior to my personal call to AAA, which is another matter, but I waited and AAA showed up and took care of my problem. While this is not as big an issue as others have had and I was not in danger... Merely irritated... I do have to speak to their customer service representatives and the process they have in place. They do have a system to find out the urgency of each callers situation, however, from a provider of high end luxury cars, the service seemed to stop there. Perhaps those who were having a true emergency received stellar service, but I should have too. Once it was determined that I was safe I shouldnt have had extended wait time to speak with someone... I was a woman, alone in a disabled car, in a not perfect location at dark. I should not have had to wait for over an hour to finally get in touch with someone for assistance.I would have preferred that Lexus process took into account that everyone calling them needed to be attended to in a timely fashion. It seems they have attempted to create a process, it just doesnt work well for non-emergency consumers.

I found 3 design flaws with my 2012 LS460L none of which Lexus will fix. The 1st incident occurred in Novato, CA making a right turn from the Ignacio Blvd bridge over 101N to Nave Dr. after a rain the previous day. When the front of the car slid slightly, the skid control turned the wheels sharply to the left forcing the car into the lane to my left. Fortunately, there was no car in that lane or there would have been an accident. I was able to regain control but Lexus refuses to investigate this issue insisting it must be reproduced by a dealer for them to act. This is impossible as no dealer has facilities to do this. The 2nd incident occurred on a hill at the intersection of Willard & Parnassus in San Francisco on 3/14/14. I had made a U-Turn to enter a parking space on Willard and was facing downhill. When I put the car in reverse, it rapidly rolled forward which is not expected in an automatic. I submitted video evidence of this to Lexus and this problem was reproduced by Freeman Lexus in Santa Rosa which, however, has no way to fix the problem, and Lexus refuses to do so though this, too, could be a safety hazard. This 3rd incident occurred on 4/14/14 when, at Woodland Market in Ross, I put my car in reverse and the rear view camera did not come on. I put it back in park and then back into reverse and the camera still did not come on. I made a video of this and sent it to Lexus and went to Lexus of Marin to show them the problem. They would have to take the car but I could not give it to them and explained this would not occur again if the car was turned off and started again - which I showed them to be true. This also could be a hazard but Freeman Lexus cannot reproduce this and Lexus absolves itself of any responsibility. Lexus, in fact, tells me if the car works as designed based on what the dealer can find, they will not fix or investigate the issue even if safety is involved. This violates the Toyota DOJ agreement.

I am an owner of Lexus RX 400h. The manufacturing year of my Lexus is to be seen in the attached figure: September 2007. It is extremely interesting that the curtain and side did not open airbags when my car crashed over. However, the commercial materials and specifications issued after September 2007 wrote about a protection system of 360, according to which curtain and side airbags open automatically in case of car crash over. After years of research it was confirmed and the representative of the manufacturer recognized, as well that no RX 350, 400h manufactured and approved in Europe contains such a system. This way Lexus Europe misled its customers in the issued commercial materials. Lexus Europe is silent disposing, no recall as it is hard to find a remedy for this problem. As a lonely fighter I brought an action against Lexus Europe for its default. If you have such a car, or you are interested in this issue, you are free to join me here.

I purchase a new 2018 Lexus 350RX three weeks ago. I am extremely disappointed in the Navigation System. First, it seems to take several minutes before the car connects to the service. I asked for direction to a well known business, and was told they could not find it. Please hang up and try again. I tried again, this time they could not find the business, but worse they could not locate my car. Asked if I was near the airport! No it was not. What if this was an emergency and they can’t find me!Yesterday, asked for directions to a Civic Arts Theater, they had the correct address but the nav. system took me to a residential, dead end street. I could see the theater but could not get to it. It wasn’t even the correct street. Again, asked for a restaurant by name - it took me to a location on a freeway. I could see the restaurant from the freeway, and eventually found it. Now, I use Waze. This system doesn’t come close to OnStar.

In June of 2014, I leased a new 2014 Lexus GS350 F-Sport. Well starting around 1700 miles the car started having issues such as warped rotors and the rear power sunshade decided when to retract and deploy on its own. Then a couple of months later, the real issues started with the car. I would go to get into the car but it wouldnt start. The engine would act like it would turn over and start but it wouldnt. Sometimes it took up to 10 tries to get the car started. Sometimes it just would go to accessory mode without even attempting to start. So needless to say, the car has been back and forth to the dealer for multiple electrical problems. Here are the biggest examples: Obviously, the non-starting issue. The power retractable steering wheel and power seat took me on a wild ride while driving down the road. The power rear sunshade still has a mind of its own. The Lexus Parking Assist senses things are there when nothing is actually there and then sometimes they decide not to work at all. My Navigation System crashing and rebooting while driving. Horrible squealing with the brakes, etc. The car has been in and out of the service department for all the electrical issues and they cant find the reason for the car not starting or any of the other electrical issues. The car only has about 7600 miles on it and its currently in the shop since May 11, 2015. Im getting quite annoyed and concerned that Lexus would produce a $60,000 vehicle with these types of problems. They are known for their reliability, craftsmanship, safety, and state of the art cars -- I beg to differ. I am just waiting to hear back from the dealership to get the next excuse of why they couldnt fix the car. Needless to say, this is my first and last Lexus. I just want Lexus or the Lexus dealership to buy back this horrific lemon of a car and give me my down payment back. There are better options out there.

I recently purchased a 2019 Lexus ES 350. I have owned the car for 4 months now. When I originally purchased the car I advised my sales person that the rear speakers were not working. Of course she said yes they are and did some minor adjustments. Then my husband and I were joyriding and he realized there was no output from the rear speakers. So I called Lexus, made an appointment and took the car in for service. Later that day I received a call from the service advisor, advising me there was a problem with the woofer and the speakers but there was nothing they could do about. He stated, We are aware there is an issue but we are waiting on lexus. So I responded, You guys are aware there is an issue with the car but you are not notifying the consumer before purchasing a car? He replied, It looks that way; but as soon as we get a resolution we will inform you.So next I called corporate and spoke with a call center representative and then a supervisor who stated the same thing. We are aware of the problem and will notify you when we have a resolution. Now the problem I have with that is that Lexus has yet to inform or notify the consumer publicly that there is an issue the 2019 Lexus ES350. Instead they are continuing to take our money and we are left to deal with problem. That is so unfair.I have done my research and there have been numerous complaints with no resolution. I would love to expose LEXUS for not addressing this issue nor notifying the public. I am so frustrated and hurt. I just want my car fixed in a timely fashion and not to have other consumers ripped off or taken advantage of. Please call me (**)or respond to me via email to investigate Lexus.

Since that time Ive had three more incidents of rough idle, stalling, check engine and stabilization signal blinking. The response from the dealer was to perform top engine clean and carbonization. The final straw for me was my wife and traveling on the highway when my car started to vibrate, accelerating difficulties, and completely shutting down.

2017 Lexus GPS - Queuing up the GPS the radio volume works properly and quiets down so you are able to hear the request. However when giving you instructions the radio remains playing and doesnt quiet down. As such you cannot hear the instructions because the radio continues playing. This causes mass confusion & almost caused an accident several times. Piece of junk. Contacted Lexus. They offered to buy me a Garmin!! They know about the problem however they havent fixed it. Bottom line this is the last Lexus I will ever buy. Beautiful automobile but terrible company to deal with. Product is defective and extremely dangerous!

I own a 2007 IS 250 and on numerous occasions I have complaint about the smell and eventually the torque converter was changed but the problem was never resolved. I was told by the service manager at Lexus that I should try different brands of fuel as it was the quality of the fuel that was causing the problem, which I did, but once again the problem was not resolved. I was then told that the smell was not coming from my car but from the ones in front of me, what nonsense. This terrible smell was witnessed by whoever sat in my car, even when there were no vehicles in front of me. This smell has caused my wife to being diagnosed asthmatic, because whenever she’s in the car and we get the smell, it causes her tightness of the chest. I must say it is the most embarrassing and uncomfortable smell to have in the cabin of your vehicle especially when you have family or friends travelling with you. I never knew owning a Lexus will cause such discomfort to me and my family; imagine if a child is being transported in the very same cabin. I hope someone could help resolve the problem, thank you.

I am going to share a response from Lexus as it pertains to the quality of their vehicle and how they are not taking responsibility. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the trim repair around the navigation unit. This is a defect from manufacturing. I explained this is a safety issue as the metallic has peeled and now there are shards of this metal pieces throughout the console and the response above was what I received. I am going to escalate and go to all social media on this. BEWARE They are not standing behind there brand anymore.

I loved my Lex. It never let me down. There are lots of options with this brand of car from family cars to SUVs. Its very reliable and trustworthy. I know when I put my grandkids in my car, they are safe. Lexus offers sleek aerodynamic designs. A spacious comfortable interior is important to me, and Ive always had the passenger and trunk space I need when traveling. I bought my car used, so Im not sure about the upgrade and personalization options available through Lexus. I do have friends whove purchased new however, and they never had any complaints. My Lexus has a very spacious interior. I never have any problem taking my grandkids and all of their necessities in my car. Everything fits perfectly with room to spare.

I purchased a Lexus a few years back for one main reason....reliability. Well let me tell you I have never had as many problems with my Lexus as I have had with any other brand. So far I have replaced water pump, side view mirror, 2 door actuators, battery and now the gateway control module is not shitting down resulting in my battery being dead after 1 day of non use. After three years of ownership I have spent over $4,000 for repairs and now they want another $1,000 for an issue that NHTSA has issued a TSB on but since the battery being dead is not a safety issue no recall has been issued. Both the door actuators and gateway control modules are well documented issues with Lexus and they absolutely will not standby their vehicles. I will never buy another Lexus and looking at the other luxury brands for my business. I will gladly pay more to get reliability as apparently Lexus IS no longer a brand synonymous with reliability.

Lexus customer service failed to provide satisfaction, just stating they are behind in payments. Ive been trying to resolve this issue for about 2 years now. My car dashboard has become very sticky and when its very sunny outside, it is hard to see through the window because of the reflection from the dashboard. When I was living in South Florida, I mention this to Lexus of North Miami. They were no help and stated to me that I should be getting a letter in the mail, which never came. When I move down to Maryland, I also brought this matter to the attention of Lexus of Silver Spring and again, the individual helping me stated that I was not on the list which didnt make sense to me. I call the Lexus Customer Satisfaction number but the rep stated that I wasnt eligible. I dont understand why I wouldnt be eligible since I did purchase the car from a Certified Lexus dealership.

The appearance of the cars would be defined as beautiful and makes you fall in love. They all have their own unique look. The car is very nice, they have a wonderful shade of color. I am the owner of two Lexus vehicles. I am investing my time to inform you of my feelings towards Lexus; as the respect, integrity and trust, which I have so highly esteemed about Lexus, has been compromised. This time the 2007 Lexus ES 350 with just 34,000 miles encountered a problem with the passenger window as it would no longer function properly. What I learned is that the window mechanism is so cheaply made that the plastic parts just broke apart. This design flaw resulted in a five hundred dollar plus repair bill that stole hard-earned dollars from other priorities my family has at this time. When I needed to truly rely upon Lexus reliability during challenging economic times, you let me and my family down. What is concerning is the fact the other three windows will certainly face the same catastrophic failure. (And surprisingly, considering the fact that the windows are hardly ever used as the Florida heat makes the AC priority one). The bottom line is this: Why would I ever buy another Lexus product when price and value are so far apart? Please let me know how you may be able to help given the aforementioned situation that my family and I currently find ourselves in.Lexus Service Specialists phone reply: As you did not visit our service department and took your car to a private repair facility, you voided your warranty. My car was well out of warranty, but they said that the CPO (certified pre-owned) Warranty would have covered this had I gone to the dealer. Well actually, the CPO would not cover a window repair; but the Service Specialists... they would have helped if I would have asked. Wow, with my other Lexus which had several service issues, the dealership was very specific that the warranty did not cover my problem and all costs would be borne by me. It is so sad to be witnessing the demise of the famed Lexus brand name. My friends and neighbors, who also own Lexus products, have also commented never again when asked if they would purchase another Lexus, as their own experiences have been much worse than mine… so sad.

I want to complain to my Lexus 570 (2011). I bought it from Al Futaim Motors Company LLC which is in UAE. I had issues with the noise from the car when I change the gear (transmission) from R to D. I asked the workshop (sales manager) at the first service (1,000 Km). They tried to repair it but the sound came back again. Also, the car is now in the workshop for the service (40,000 Km) with the same issue. They are still telling me they will find out the problem to fix it. I was driving my 2007 Lexus RX 400h when I turned into the parking lot (from a stopped position) and proceeded at very slow speed when I inadvertently bumped the curb, upon entering the parking lot the Power Steering Light came on and no longer able to steer the car. I had to get towed all the way back to home. There wasnt even a scratch on the car and yet the entire safe steering ability was rendered inoperable. I have been looking online and I see that there are many other victims of what seems to me to be a major design flaw and a terribly unsafe condition. I brought it to the attention of Lexus and they decline to fix it or help address this problem in anyway and I am stuck with an $1100.00. I purchased an alleged 2016 lexus gs-350 from lexus of riverside on 4/29/2016. I reported a navigation defect to them in less than two weeks. They did nothing for 6 1/2 weeks and finally sent a dealership car and service tech. We drove both my car and dealership car. In go home mode it took us in a round-about manner to a dead end road in a different zip code. Both my car and dealership car failed and went to dead end road but I took my garmin gps in dealer car and it worked perfectly. The dealership refused to do anything and referred this problem to their lexus/toyota headquarters in Torrance, ca. The clerk at the headquarters said we would be put in a queue which would take 4 weeks.I spent hours researching, driving, photographing, documenting and sending over 30 emails to them but just got a letter giving me an assignment to send them documents they already had. I also called their 800# - useless. You get some clerk who only gives a first name and never gives you a case number. I have 1 week left for the 4-week queue, so will probably have to sue them since there is no available for this serious problem and they just delay hoping you go away.Next I photographed the navigation screen which shows that the navigation micro sd card is dated 8/1/2015 (gen 8) which according to their published literature is only for a 2015 gs-350. At this writing, the card will be 1 year old in 2 weeks and the service manager told me they usually come out around October for about $169. So either lexus sold me a 2015 and changed the date to 2016 or they are using old parts. I had leased 4 lexus ls series before - 1990, 1995, 1999 & 2004. The 2004 was terrible and constantly needed repairs. So I left lexus. But I read the glowing reports by consumer reports and tried the 2016 gs-350 due to its alleged safety features - big mistake.

I purchased new my 2008 IS 250, it now has 48,895 miles including an extended four year warranty that is about to expire. I noticed chunks of the dash and door panels literally start falling out, as well as the material turn to a melty, gooey mess. I reported this each and every time I was at the dealership, who graciously agreed to send the car in for detailing (at their expense) - then later tried to tell me that the car was out of warranty, and that this problem was caused by chemicals I used when I washed my car! It wasnt until I became enraged that they sent my issue on to Lexus-in-the-sky, who came back with what they called a fair, good will gesture..... They would pay for half of the replacement, to the tune of $2800.00, since the damage was not considered a material defect. I have two other cars, neither of which are LUXURY cars, both older, one with +125k miles, and the interior looks like the day the car was purchased. I live in Florida, and granted it is hot - but similarly, other makes, models and brands of cars are not plagued by this problematic inferior, interior dash/door panel material.Lexus is branded as a luxury line of cars, and when I purchased this car, I paid for the REPUTATION that comes with the LEXUS brand - including vehicle design, performance, workmanship, and customer service. What I have gotten is five recalls, one including a new rebuilt engine, one for gas pedal issues, air conditioning problems, and now this continual runaround about a problem that is, continues to be recognized as a wide-spread concern.LEXUS needs to bone up and admit there is a problem and its more wide spread than they let on. They also need to stop calling me about their stupid sign-and-drive promotions. I will not invest a dime into any Lexus vehicle until they make this right.... Or not!

I purchased a new 2015 RX450h from a Lexus Dealership in MO in mid-December. I had the opportunity last month to observe my vehicle with the headlamps on. To my surprise, the headlamp covers are badly distorted. I took my vehicle back to the dealership only to discover that all the Lexus on the showroom floor had the same problem. I contacted Lexus and received 2 emails and 1 phone call explaining that its the way they are made and they are not looking for a fix. This is a real problem and maybe even a safety issue as the vehicle ages. Im extremely disappointed in the quality of the headlamp covers and that Lexus does not care about the product they put on the market. Weve asked Bob about the specific brand of the remote starter and when he tried to contact the 3rd party he didnt get a response. He reassured me that Lexus only use the best and we trusted him. When we got the remote starter installed. We were told that the car is too new and the software might not be available, so we waited a week for answers. As a customer, I called my shop that install remote starter for my old car and asked them about the availability for a new GX460 and they said theres not available yet. One week later I got a call from Tony telling me that the software is available and therefore I trusted him. The tech came to my house and install the software and he said that there are few glitches to it because the car is so new. He told me before he came to my house and install the software that he had installed a VIPER brand remote starter and on that day when I received my remote starter, it wasnt Viper and it was Avital. Avital is a cheap brand remote starter and I do not expect Lexus to install it into our new car and to make it worse, there are glitches to the software.

Lexus uses the best materials and supplies to construct their vehicles. They use the latest technology and are usually the first to use a lot of options and most options come standard!! Even though stock Lexus cars have more options than your usual car they also offer additional options that most cars do not even offer yet!!! This makes Lexus the best car out there!! First of all, this is my first ever negative review for any company. Unfortunately, based-on what has just happened to us, I felt an obligation to at least warn others. Lexus doesn’t stand by their brand, and ultimately won’t take care of loyal customers even when your car is still somewhat in warranty. We’ve owned two other Lexuses over the past 15 years and have proclaimed we would only buy Lexus going forward for life. Our 2014 RX350 (purchased in 2015 at 28k miles) had a 100k mile warranty or Sept. 2020 expiration. We are just under 130,000 miles on the vehicle and our engine is completely gone (just 6-year old car).We spent over $300 for the diagnostic test alone at the dealership at the request of the manufacturer to validate the assessment of a trusted third party repair shop who told us that the engine was shot and would need to be replaced costing $10K. The Lexus dealership provided an estimate over $6K to fix an engine with the disclaimer that more parts may be needed after tearing it down (assuming the cost is going to be much more). This is not even a new engine replacement. All regular maintenance has been done faithfully at an independent and reputable auto service business.Lexus manufacturer has completely refused to help in any way even though a representative at the dealership says they never see this happen in these models. Our car is unfortunately not worth more than $13,000 and the cost of repairs simply don’t make sense. Lexus doesn’t stand behind its product and have definitely tarnished it’s reputation as a brand. We would have probably spent at least $300k more in our lifetime on Lexus vehicles and passed down the current vehicle to our daughter because of their perceived reliability and quality. This is not the case!!!!They washed it all away for simply not replacing our engine this once or even helping in some way (they didn’t even reimburse us for the diagnostic test they requested to consider the issue). Lexus should be ashamed, and I hope this review helps someone else avoid this situation in the future. Lexus, don’t brag about your product reliability, customer service, and commitment to customers satisfaction. Going forward we will chose to do business with a company with more integrity and honesty.

Lexus had huge issues with their dashboard, glove boxes and side arms in some models. My model was a LS460. The material used would literally melt, turn sticky and rub off in the sun or heat. They developed a program to fix their short-comings and I was told it would be fixed a couple yrs ago. I dropped off car, they said they would fix issue and did nothing. After several calls, with zero returns I went to dealer. Was told we will get you in and take care of it, nothing again. Went back and was told the offer had ended and I need to call corporate. Corporate said they would not fix and I could pay for it myself. So, in summary, Lexus dropped the ball for over a yr and half thru a pandemic then would not make it right with a customer that has had about 10 of their cars in family over the years. Lexus only cares about selling their cars and obviously not keeping customers happy or doing what is right after their production failure with this certain issue. My advice is look elsewhere for your expensive vehicle purchase!

At the time Lexus only made three models. Would have loved to have taken home the top model but it was out of my price range. Ended up buying the cheapest model which was the 300 EX. Its a nice car and I enjoyed it a lot until I traded it in for a BMW M3. It had lots of room. I owned it when my second child was born and it had room for both child car seats and for grandma to sit in the back. The front had lots of leg room. It was very comfortable, powerful V6 engine, with a nice quiet ride. It was a nice two-toned color, white over silver and gold plated accents. Got a great deal from the salesman who had a side business of upgrading the chrome accents to gold. Would have cost about $1,000 from the dealer but I got it for half that price.

They had various models that I was interested in with various trim level for each model. They could have more models, but what they had was adequate, even if it wasnt huge. Their cars are high quality and the prices are reasonable. They use high quality parts in their car, and their cars are very reliable, i.e. good value for the price paid. There arent many upgrade options and personalization available. They only have a few trim level that you can choose from which bundles in the various options. I would prefer more ala carte selection so that I can choose only the options that I want and not have to pay for some options that I dont really want. The model I was interested in all seats 5 passengers comfortable. There was plenty of interior room as well as cargo space to carry both people and stuff. It could be tight if all passengers are large.

I took my car in for diagnosis, after hearing a low grinding sound. He a bearing in the pump was failing and the pump needed to replace at a cost between $2,500 and $3,000. To access that pump, the engine needs to be removed, that takes 16 hours! While youre having that work done, he told me to also have the spark plugs replaced. Get this, the average cost to replace them is $311 to $396. The parts cost is less than $20. The remainder of the cost is labor. I think the costs for doing minor repair jobs is ridiculous - whoever heard of removing the engine to replace the water pump (replacing the plugs at the same time, saves you money). Id like to meet the numskull responsible for this thoughtless design and tell him a thing or two. Do these two minor job.

Gauges are setup in a way that makes it easy to read. Car stark is awesome. The options on wheels was something I liked and upgraded audio was something I found extremely valuable. Updated dashboard lighting was also a plus. Im happy with the amount of space inside the vehicle. I have a family of four plus a dog and never have any issue packing my car for trips.

2010 GX460 - This vehicle is 7 years old cost over $65,000. Lexus refuses to warrant the paint, they say the warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles. This car has 39,000 miles on it hand washed since new. I had a paint company examine the paint and they determined that the factory E-coat failed causing the paint to split and peel, any stone chips and the peeling starts sooner. I contacted Lexus several times and now have been told they will NOT do anything, even after I informed them that I have another Lexus & Toyota in my garage, along with a list of previous Toyota vehicles I had owned previously. There were a lot of choices, same car different packages. Theres a type of car for every type of person, however, its more of a luxury brand. Its a mid-size level sedan and it has good dependability. It is also roomy and fits the standard sedan passenger size. Three in the back and one passenger up front. Theres also good leg room for all passengers. The car looks nice on the outside, my hybrid came with wood trim and dark brown on the inside. This did not match too well with blue exterior color. There are very few packages available for my hybrid selection and only one available for what I was purchasing. It had to be shipped from another dealer and took a week.

The dealer found the problem and was happy to fix it. When they reached out for approval at corporate the dealer was told that Lexus would not approve. I wrote the CEO of Lexus USA explaining the problem and challenge due to medical issues. The CEO nor anyone ever had the courtesy to respond to my letter. The problem with the Lexus is only getting worse. This is not a company that cares about the customer.

I recently made a purchase of a 2008 RX350, from Meade Lexus of Lakeside. I decided to go with the Lexus, with the hopes of landing a depending vehicle from a company that cared about their customers well being and to make future purchases. Received the vehicle in Aug. and within 30 days needed a new battery, which is not the end of the world, although unexpected. This weekend however, I took my 11 year old son to Chicago for his birthday and the vehicle started smoking and stalled on me on the 94 E expressway. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop only to be told that the vehicle that I purchased 7 months prior, needs a new engine!! I tried to contact the dealership as well as had the vehicle taken to another repair shop for a second opinion, after the second shop, gave me the same results. I can not believe that this dealership is selling unsafe vehicles to the public. I did all of my research prior to this purchase for this to happen to me. I too, cannot believe that I am making a complaint about a brand that I put so much trust into. My next step is to contact the attorney general office about this situation.

My 2008 Lexus RX350 was towed to the dealer. Battery was dead. I am now told the fuses were burned out probably because the tow driver tried to start the battery. This makes no sense as the driver did the procedure correctly and no sparks came out of battery. They have my car since Wednesday 3/14. Today is Friday and no word when the car will be ready. Currently, the cost is approx $460.00. All I want to know is is this a common problem with all fuses blowing? My car has about 50,000 miles and less than 1 month ago. I had routine service at $300.00 at the same dealer (it was the 50,000 check up which was done at 47,000 miles).I dont want to make trouble but I want to be sure I am not being taken advantage of. I never heard of a car having burn out of fuses due to a bad battery. I repeat, I dont want to make trouble but I would like to know if I am being taken advantage of. Thank you.

I purchased a 2008 IS 250 Lexus in San Diego, California. Since purchasing it, I have had all my service done at the Kearny Mesa, San Diego location. This car has been riddled with problems and recalls including engine, brakes, seat belt, navigation and more. The problems just are never ending, and it does not seem Lexus is interested in taking any responsibility. When my touch screen system stopped responding to touch (350 miles outside of warranty), they quoted nearly $2,800 for replacement. They built a cheap car, charged a premium for the car and are collected from each of us to have their poor workmanship items repaired. I will never buy another Lexus and would never refer anyone to them either.

This is my 2nd Lexus: my first one, ES 330 was a great car from mechanical to cosmetics! This 2nd, ES 350 is the poorest quality you can get! I was told by a service manager in N Miami, that the reason the interior materials (dash board, seats cover, cosmetically wood design, that all are falling apart), are made to disintegrate after a while! No kidding!!!? They actually do, I cannot even clean the interior because the board is jelly like, the seats covers are all broken after 2-3 years and the color will come off when you clean them, the wood design is flying up peeling as well everywhere, at 72 000 miles I had to replace the front direction and before, the steering wheel fell! And you would believe that for over $42000, you will buy a nice quality car! No, not anymore! I was back in forth with Lexus via emails, I went to the dealer to show what is happening to the car, they said that I have to pay if I don’t like the way it looks! I called to have at least the dash board replace since is melting, but two customer service from Lexus Corporate said that the offer expired on March 31 this year and they won’t extend it, although they never told me about it when I went to the dealer or on our exchanged emails! Think twice if you planning to get a Lexus at this time: it is not the same quality or customer service as they started! A shame!

My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!

I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.

Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturers warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.

My car failed due to the battery compartment taking on water. I went to the dealership and they advised me to put in a claim with my insurance company. My insurance company denied the claim as there was a service bulletin from 2009 about how to repair the issue. Needless to say my car is out of warranty and has over 130,000 miles on it. Regardless I was never aware of the bulletin. Had I been made aware of this I would have had the car fixed at my expense to avoid this issue. Why would they relay to the insurance company and not notify the customer and keep this a secret. Was it to avoid a recall of the cars? There is a blog site where the issue has come up on these cars. Where there not enough complaints? On a positive note corporate was advised of my issue and has agreed to offer a warranty price which came out to approximately 4300 to 4900 hundred dollars. Needless to say, this is much more than my 500 dollar deductible that the insurance company would have received if this bulletin had not come up. I love my Lexus RX 400 and recommend the cars there are the best of the best. Its this issue that keeps me up at night. I am still trying to resolve and feel that I should not have had to pay anything.

I bought a Lexus RX350 - in 2007. At about the same time, needing a vehicle for commuting, I purchased what some might say is the antithesis of a Lexus - a Hyundai, a Hyundai Elantra (2008), to be precise. Heres what happened since: Date Lexus ($50,000 +) Hyundai ($15,000); Oct 12th 2012, Battery failed (32830 mi); Nov 12th 2012, Idler pulley for drive belt failed (36362 mi); March 11th 2014, Ignition coil #5 failed (42891 mi), replaced drive belts (on highway nearly hit by truck); March 30th 2016, Rear Caliper blown (61498 mi - $654.40); April 20th 2016, Ignition coil #6 failed (62562 mi - $ 293.47); April 20th 2016, Dealer diagnosed leaking steering fluid, recommends steering replacement ($1600 estimate - not done yet).Maintenance items such as regular servicing, brake and tire replacements and such, do not appear in the above list, as also any repairs prior to 2012 (have not kept records). All repairs have been performed at Haldeman Lexus of Princeton, 2630 Brunswick Pike, Business Route 1 North, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648-1000. The vehicle has been run for pleasure, under normal operating conditions. The failures are premature, and entirely unexpected, at these mileages. The vehicle is a Lexus! In contrast, the Hyundai, surprisingly ran fine at 90000 miles +, with no significant breakdowns or repairs, apart from a battery replacement at about 50,000 mi and drive belt replacement at about 85,000 miles. I provided the above comparison to Lexus - have yet to hear from them. No doubt, its difficult to accept that a Hyundai can beat a Lexus hands down, in terms of what Lexus purportedly excels at, manufacturing quality. Looks like we should look elsewhere when we go for a luxury SUV next time!

Mr. David **, of Bell Lexus Service, Phoenix, AZ told me that this has been a known problem. I think this is a defective material issue that should have been disclosed before I purchased the Lexus, as I would not have purchased a car that I use for business that absorbed fabric dye from dark pants, skirts, etc. I expected better quality; especially from Lexus! My local detail shop cannot get the dye stains out of the sides of the seats and door panel. Bell Lexus did get it out and they put a sealer on the seats and door and within two days the stains were back. David told me that I could bring the car back for seat cleaning but not every week. David also suggested that I not wear expensive jeans or other dark fabrics in the car? Do I tell my clients the same thing? What if I purchased a leather sofa and this happened? Shouldnt the same principles apply? As a Real Estate professional, I use my Lexus in my business to transport clients. Appearance is an important part of my job. A stained interior will very likely cost me lost sales, lost listings, and fewer referrals. My car is a business investment. Even the non-professional Lexus owner would not like this happening to their supposedly high quality car.Since David was acting as an agent for the Lexus admits the problem; I want this issue addressed and corrected. It is obviously, an undisclosed defect, in that it is inferior quality material, especially with a tan interior. For certain, the sides of the seats and door panels are made from defective materials. Please correct this problem as soon as possible, for I do not want to suffer any further losses.

Ive read many of the reviews here and so sorry to hear of so many horror stories when dealing with Lexus. My wife and I own two, both 2015s: A GS350 and an RX350. The ironic part.... we bought them from a terrific local Carmax, not the local Lexus dealer. Both extremely low miles and in pristine condition; both bought in 2018. We LOVE the cars. Now.... the Lexus dealer here in Raleigh, NC is Johnson Lexus and, even though we didnt purchase the vehicles from them, they have been nothing short of fantastic in their dealings with us. They literally bend over backward to make their customers happy; prompt, fair, efficient, and GOOD service on our vehicles. Friendly, helpful staff. Do things for free very often. Just aces. So the moral of the story, IMHO, is it really comes down to the quality of the dealership you have in your area. If youre lucky enough to get a dealer like we have in Raleigh at Johnson Lexus.... youre good to go. If not? Potential nightmares. Guess the warning to potential Lexus buyers is this: Spend a LOT of time researching both the car AND the dealership before you act.

I had the lights changed to the blue lights that were of higher definition. The seats were so nice because they were leather heated seats and the body type was just what I was looking for. It had really low miles for the year that it was. I was very happy with the capacity since there was a lot of room for the tall people in my family and there was enough room to fit my children in comfortably with their car seats.

Im satisfied because it looks great to me with painted red and with the map and controls, with a safety system for getting in and out of a parking spot. There is enough capacity to seat 5 people so Im happy with that and also has an opening in the middle back seat to store something.

The dashboard of our 2007 Lexus 350 RX is cracking. Now chunks of the dashboard are following out. We contacted Lexus and were denied any help in fixing the dash even though they know that the materials used were defective. We are extremely disappointed.

I own a RX 330 which I take pride in servicing and has always relied on Lexus to do all my services even though they are twice as expensive. December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.
