Bought a 2015 GS 350 car. Was over 50k and not fully loaded. The bad interior colors are all black unless you get a white exterior or black exterior. Then you get the option of only a few interior lighter colors then deep black. Second Lexus engineers destroyed the navigation system by taking away touch screen and installing a mouse to click 1 letter or number at a time, 10x slower than the old touch screen. Also their talk in navigation does not work half the time because its affected by AC or radio noise. Its real garbage, a $150 tom tom is faster and better. They did this to save money. It will be gone next year or so. Also the geniuses at Lexus actually have a knob that pipes in engine noise into the cabin like its a high powered corvette, ridiculous. Now for the ride. Its rough because their 18 rims and little tire contacting road so you feel every little mild bump. Also the rims are dull cheap looking fake silver. Really ugly. The backup camera is fair but no front camera because they raised dashboard height to accommodate junk navigational. Now you cant see past mid hood creating blind spot of front distance of car to an object. Very little contrasting color on door panels or dash just a fake chrome colored clock. And the six stack CD player is gone now also with a basic 1 CD insert and a few speakers average sound. Then to turn on accessories like windows, wipers, radio etc. You have to go through a crazy touch button twice while foot on brake pedal. Yes you can get satellite radio for a fee plus to use through the junk navigational will take 5 minutes to move a mouse for station. Then they got Lexus Enform built in with your navigational where you can pull car over and play with mouse to make dinner reservation, concerts, etc. Its idiotic just read up on the reviews of Lexus Enform. Use your cell to call a place you want reservations. It is 20x faster. Also the car engine with the dual exhaust is noisy as hell. Your neighbor can hear the motor running 3 doors down. I have a 2002 Lexus so this is how I know where the mistakes are in the new car compared to the 2002 GS 300 model which is so much better designed than the new 2015 junk. Also premium gas only and lousy mileage. I would have looked at other cars but my wife loved the old Lexus so she thought the new one would have the same nice features and smooth ride. No way is this plastic car worth more than $38,000 not 53k.So what is better on the Lexus 2015 versus 2002? Nothing to be honest. Has a few more useless steering wheel gadgets, thats it. So what do I like about it? Just increased engine power for passing. If youre thinking about buying this model take it on the freeway and some side streets with a few bumps then youll pass. Car was new when we bought it but had 90 miles on it telling me about 15 people test drove it then passed. I bought it from the liars at Keyes Lexus and they have some real trashy middle eastern hustlers that worked there. It was 5 hours of lies before I regretfully bought from the low class staff. Heres how much profit they make on a 53k MSRP car about 8-9 thousand so now you know what price theyll sell it at.Also the liar sales manager hustled my wife into an added warranty for 2 extra years only for $2800. Huge rip off. After we bought warranty the sales people said all new Lexuss come with a 7 year engine & trans warranty and 4 yr. 50,000 on the other parts. Before you buy look at Acura, Cadillac, Honda, etc. Also dont buy it if it has a mouse for typing and no touch screen. Last thing the door handles are painted silver but made of PLASTIC. For $53,000 3 stars overall is correct rating. The end!!!
My mother bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350. At 88k miles, she began experiencing issues with her car while driving and brought it to the dealership for an inspection. They told her that there were massive problems with her engine which would cost over $5k to fix. This car isnt even at 100k miles yet so it was incredible that there would be any engine problems. For what its worth, my mother is a very safe, responsible driver and she has never skipped any maintenance on her car. We asked what our options were and they told us that we were past the warranty, so our only option would be to pay the $5k out of pocket. Obviously, we were upset so we called the consumer hotline that they provided us to voice our concerns, and we spoke with a representative named Carlos. He admitted that there were known engine issues with the RX models and said that he would call us back with a solution.A few days later, he called us and said that he would cover only 50% of the parts. He would absolutely not budge even though we told him that Lexus should cover 100% of the parts and labor as this was a known issue. I feel that Lexus sold us a car with a faulty engine and is now refusing any responsibility. At this point, I am seriously considering suing the company and will never buy a Lexus again.
I purchased a Lexus a few years back for one main reason....reliability. Well let me tell you I have never had as many problems with my Lexus as I have had with any other brand. So far I have replaced water pump, side view mirror, 2 door actuators, battery and now the gateway control module is not shitting down resulting in my battery being dead after 1 day of non use. After three years of ownership I have spent over $4,000 for repairs and now they want another $1,000 for an issue that NHTSA has issued a TSB on but since the battery being dead is not a safety issue no recall has been issued. Both the door actuators and gateway control modules are well documented issues with Lexus and they absolutely will not standby their vehicles. I will never buy another Lexus and looking at the other luxury brands for my business. I will gladly pay more to get reliability as apparently Lexus IS no longer a brand synonymous with reliability.
My Lexus doesnt have all of the Bells and Whistles, but Im still paying a hefty price for both car and insurance. It does have plenty of power for take off though,(and even on the Audubon if you want.) Its too powerful for my taste, as it will be be going what feels like 55 or 60 but will actually be going around 85 or 90. It doesnt handle curves very well at high speeds either.
I visited JM Lexus where I leased my NX200. I had a accident about 4 weeks before lease end. I spoke to a manager about the procedure of returning the vehicle if it was damaged. he went into the computer, and stated to me that I had the excess wear and tear plan, and I was covered at $2000.00 per incident up to $7500.00. I explained to him that I was going to take it to my insurance company, and pay a $500.00 deductible, and have the vehicle repaired. He assured me that the plan would cover the damage, and just return the vehicle. I did what he told me to do, and my new vehicle arrived about two weeks later. The night before, I got a invoice from Lexus for $6500.00. I forwarded this information to the salesperson, and he said the damaged should have been covered. After speaking with his manager, it wasnt covered. Problem is now the vehicle was sold at auction, and I cannot put in a claim with my insurance company. I spoke to the Manager at the dealership, and he told me that when the car was turned in the salesman was supposed to inspect it, and he would have told me there was too much damage. That never happened. I told this guy from the get go there was a lot of damage, but he was sure it would be covered. Now Lexus is trying to put me on the hook for the damage, because somebody there dropped the ball. It is just aggravating to me that I was going to put the claim in to my insurance company, and this whole thing would have only cost me $500.00, and I listened to the Lexus representative instead. Looks as though to me the Wear and Tear plan is a scam.
I am an owner of Lexus RX 400h. The manufacturing year of my Lexus is to be seen in the attached figure: September 2007. It is extremely interesting that the curtain and side did not open airbags when my car crashed over. However, the commercial materials and specifications issued after September 2007 wrote about a protection system of 360, according to which curtain and side airbags open automatically in case of car crash over. After years of research it was confirmed and the representative of the manufacturer recognized, as well that no RX 350, 400h manufactured and approved in Europe contains such a system. This way Lexus Europe misled its customers in the issued commercial materials. Lexus Europe is silent disposing, no recall as it is hard to find a remedy for this problem. As a lonely fighter I brought an action against Lexus Europe for its default. If you have such a car, or you are interested in this issue, you are free to join me here.
Purchased RX 350 used. I was headed to a local eatery when my oil light started flashing. Stopped car and checked oil dipstick which showed dry. I blamed oil change store and added oil and drove the short distance to get there. They went out of their way to show me it was not their fault and show me the problem. Towed vehicle to my mechanic and he changed out broken oil line. Told me that I was lucky that my engine was not destroyed and that the oil line was a defective part waiting to fail. Confirmed by checking complaints on internet. Called Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department and jumped through hoops to send them information to recoup money for my repair. Was sent a reply today saying my vehicle did not meet the criteria for reimbursement under the warranty enhancement. Called Lexus and asked what was the criteria needed for my reimbursement, and was told I was not a loyal Lexus Owner. Was also told I did not take my RX to a Lexus Dealer for the repair, and I was past the 10 year limit for the repair. I purchased the vehicle 2 1/2 years ago with 67,000 miles on it, so it was low mileage and the problem had not shown up yet. I have my own personal mechanic that I have used for the last 10 years, so I did not take my RX to Lexus. How many Lexus vehicles do I have to own to be a loyal Lexus owner, and what does that have to do with a defective part anyway? I will never own a Toyota product again. I bought this Lexus reading the high satisfaction report from Consumer Reports. Please be careful if you buy a Lexus, They may represent themselves as a high-end car company, but a design such as the oil line doesnt represent a luxury car line or the customer support you should expect.
I purchased a used 2008 LS460L from a Lexus dealer in Westminister, CA on 1/19/2015 - it had 90,067 miles. I have driven a 1999 LS400 with 82,000 mi that now has 225,000 mi. It has been the best car I have ever owned and never had a major expense. In fact all I have done since 2001 is put a starter in it at 151,000 mi. A broken trans. mount ($275), a rack and pinion, a cereal cable I broke, and an interior brake light bulb, 2 timing belts and two sets of iridium spark plugs - and the usual brakes, rotors and Mobil1, etc. I have never taken it to a Lexus dealer to get Charbucks and Bagels! I expected the same or better from an LS460L 15 yrs. newer ! Boy was I ever wrong. Now I have to replace both upper and lower front control arms or bushings The dealer wants $585 for ea. control arms or you can order after mkt. on EBAY, (i.e: two control arms for $189, which I did and they were put in at a shop for $180). The dealer quoted on 2/1/2013 - was $1875.81 parts plus $585 labor = $1460.81 + tax. It cost me with overnight postage from NY to Apple Valley, CA - UPS $115, parts $189, labor $180 = $393 TOTAL. The labor took two hrs. and $89 for another alignment. I still need the rear control arms put in as it is not in specs. Still!I just took the car on a road trip 3000 miles and had no problems. However the rear control arms still need to be replaced and the bushings are available on eBay for $49 for both sides, or you can pay the Lexus dealer $123.85 x 2 for control arms for both sides rear = $247.70 and $541.57 x 2 control arms - both sides 4 total $1330.84 + LABOR (?) + tax.
Lexus CT200 is 2015-16 the last year this hybrid was made. So glad we found one. We love it. Used car that is running with no issues. If you can find a used one, we are happier with the Lexus hybrid than their Toyota version.
They have various sized sedans, SUVs that come in both all-wheel and front wheel drive. They are built well and last for a long time. They are fun to drive and come with many option packages. Features can include but are not limited to air-conditioned/heated seats, heated steering wheel, multi-disc CD player, radar controlled cruise control, heads up display, different sound systems, etc. Numerous options to choose from. Different dealerships offer different options, so you will have to check with your local dealership to see what they offer. Some options include gold plated badging, pin stripes, rubber floor mats, hood/front end stone chip protectant, etc. Their SUVs offer plenty of room for passengers with ample leg and head space. Their larger sedans also offer plenty of room for passengers. Their smaller sedans and sport cars dont have as much room but are still comfortable.
Well-built. Quality workmanship. My Lexus GS 430 is a 2001 model. Never had a mechanical issue. Just recently changed shocks and a few other minor issues. Not bad for a 16 year old automobile. Still handles well. Paint is still great with no blemishes or paint fade. Although I take really good care of it, it takes great care of me and my family. Quiet as a kitten. Goes when needed. Powerful 300hp V8 still has oomph! Drivers seat looks a little worn. But passenger seats look new.
This is a great car with great qualities and it gives a great performance with many compliments to the inner side of the car. The inside is comfortable with a nice leather and design overall. There is also a great passenger capacity. It can fit mostly everything and give everyone enough room to have good comfort. I like this car a lot. The build and design are amazing and it is good on gas. There are not many personalization problems and it has great stock options.
Am trying to assist a friend who owns an RX300 and was appalled by what she told me about her trans. problems. I own a 2005 Toyota Matrix (same co., same Ivory Tower board of directors). HELLO!!!!! And Ive been beyond appalled by what Ive read on the internet about inexcusable DEFECTS of Lexus products. I also am beginning to have trans. issues, so now I am doubly concerned! I am a CAR GUY and give quite a few people advice on WHAT TO BUY. From what Ive read in just the last few days on the internet, Ive just put Lexus on my DO NOT BUY LIST!! It is time for CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS; as was mentioned by the complaint I last read 5 min. ago. N.B. after several days of reading complaint after complaint, finally someone mentioned CLASS ACTION! PLEASE someone out there respond to this plea for help so we can get the ball rolling.
Have a 2008 Lexus RX 350. Dash board has begun to crack everywhere. Contacted Lexus to no avail. New dash is 1400.00 plus labor. They know about this problem and are choosing to do nothing. Taking the GM approach to their poor quality. Ignore it and hope it goes away. Not very good for business. Really kills the resale value. Who would want to buy a car with cracks everywhere on the dash. Will have to think twice before buying another.
There was an awesome variety of cars to choose from and it made my decision that much harder because they were all so nice. All equipped car with a nice look. Make you feel like a brand new person. The interior was just as amazing. Much nicer than most cars in todays market. The roomy interior and design allows for you to add your own little touch and personalization. When you can fit more than 4 people on a car, thats what you call awesome. Good enough for larger car pools, if you have several children, or just to take a large family on vacation. My needs were fully met.
In February of 2012, my Lexus 2006 es330 accelerated with me from 25 miles to approx 75 miles. My car ended up in a ditch that was when it stopped. It was as if the car took a life of its own. It was towed to JM Lexus and I explained to them what happened. They kept the car for about 10 days including work at the body shop which my insurance paid for. I specifically asked on several occasions if they checked the car out for its unintentional acceleration and they told me yes and nothing was found. In June of 2012, the same thing happened. The car went from 25 to 80 miles and even when brake was applied, the car would not stop. At this time, the car was in shambles. The car finally stopped when it hit a light post. The car was written off by my insurance company. I called Lexus Corporation and they wrote me back a letter which insulted my intelligence. This has left me with post traumatic syndrome shoulder pain, knee pain and fear of driving. It affected my livelihood as Im a home health medicare nurse. It bothers me that a big corporation as that doesnt want to take responsibility for their product.
I purchased a 2007 470LX in excellent condition. When it was delivered, the rear view mirror was hanging down and the car smelled as if it had been in a flood (car supposedly one-car, Lexus certified pre-owned). The seat belts are water-stained. There is rust on the chrome or metal of the seat belts.Upon delivery, I expressed my dissatisfaction and concern about it being water damaged, but got no satisfactory explanation. I might add that I paid a premium because it was a limited edition with only 32,000 miles. The dealership is not accepting or acknowledging that anything is not as advertised or described to me. My dealership in Dallas (Sewell) had been great, and I have already paid $250 additional to try to get the smell out of the car. Do I have any legal rights, or how can I make Scanlon Lexus respond?
I own a 2007 IS 250 and on numerous occasions I have complaint about the smell and eventually the torque converter was changed but the problem was never resolved. I was told by the service manager at Lexus that I should try different brands of fuel as it was the quality of the fuel that was causing the problem, which I did, but once again the problem was not resolved. I was then told that the smell was not coming from my car but from the ones in front of me, what nonsense. This terrible smell was witnessed by whoever sat in my car, even when there were no vehicles in front of me. This smell has caused my wife to being diagnosed asthmatic, because whenever she’s in the car and we get the smell, it causes her tightness of the chest. I must say it is the most embarrassing and uncomfortable smell to have in the cabin of your vehicle especially when you have family or friends travelling with you. I never knew owning a Lexus will cause such discomfort to me and my family; imagine if a child is being transported in the very same cabin. I hope someone could help resolve the problem, thank you.
I took my Lexus to Wilmington Delaware Koons. They say that my SUV was in good condition. Meaning no problems. I took my SUV to New York and noticed that I need an oil change. None of my filter was ever changed. The oil was dirty. I mean really look like mud. New York stated to me that I may get oil flushed and you cant let your oil get this dirty. I was really, really upset. I showed him the papers from Koons where my oil was done less than a month ago. My filters was changed. Lexus Koons took my money and never changed my oil. Lexus Koons stated that my car need a harness wire. That would cost $2900.00 plus labor. It had problems starting. My brother cleaned my battery cables. My car has been running fine.
I just leased my sixth Lexus and I regret it! I dont care how great it drives because the music sound system is the WORSE. The rear speaker has NO SOUND coming from it at all. When you drive the only speaker that sound comes from is the front speaker. God forbid you increase the volume, the sound blasts at you so loud that it is torture to drive in the car. There is nothing Lexus service can do. Its their new sound system. It is torture! Not only that, my business only uses Blackberry phones and the new 2019 Lexus only works with iPhones. My last 2016 Lexus allowed text message to appear on the screen. Now the new 2019 Lexus models. So it is MANDATORY that you have an iPhone if you want to drive the luxurious 2019 Lexus without using your stereo system.
Purchased my brand new 2010 Lexus RX350 in Jan 2010. Babied it since day 1 of purchase, 26,600 miles to date. Not driven to shores, not flooded, minimal drive in winter, hosed under chassis w/ fresh water. WHY TOTAL RUST UNDER CHASSIS??
I own a Lexus IS 250 SE manual. What happened is that my touchscreen GPS has a factory fault and stopped working. As now I am out of my warranties, Lexus told me that I have to pay for it to be replaced and it will cost me R 25,000.00. After telling them that it is a factory problem, they said to me that they can only help me pay 50% of it and they will come out with the other 50% for it to be repair. I think that it is unfair for the customer when Lexus knows that their car has a factory defect and still made the customers liable of paying that. Can I have any help on this issue, please?
Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturers warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.
Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?
Full line of sedans, sporty coupes, hybrids and performance vehicles including the IS, GS, LS which are reliable. They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.
Lexus has a LX, a LS, RX, GS, NX, RC, ES, GX and CT. There are many more but these are the main ones that offer the most value and luxury than most others seem to do. The car has many things like a great trunk, engine and seats. It has great lights and it had wifi and it is really fast to drive all the time. There are many upgrades like the seats and then theres the tire rims. They have custom stereos too and have custom features inside like a touchscreen. Also, the passenger capacity has a lot of room to fit a good amount of people in it so that they all can be comfortable and that they can have lots of room to do lots of things without feeling crowded.
We leased a new 2018 NX300 at the beginning of April 2018 in Kingston Ontario Canada this year and in August while driving to town my wife hit a deer taking out the grill and camera, etc. It is now November and its still not fixed. The reason: parts on backorder. How can a brand new vehicle have parts on backorder? First a fog light, then an electronic component for the lane departure. The list goes on. Four months to repair a vehicle due to parts on backorder. The local dealer wont answer my emails, wont answer my phone calls all because Im getting upset with how this is handled and the length of time it takes. Not to mention Im paying a lease on a vehicle we cant access. We made the mistake of leasing two Lexus vehicles but I promise this will be rectified when the lease concludes. ILL NEVER LEASE ANOTHER LEXUS ANYTHING.
Different varieties of models and features that are actually nice and I would recommended that. Each model is unique in its own, but I prefer Lexus Los cause it offers hybrid and gasoline vehicles and they give you the ability to choose which one that you want. Lexus has many upgrades and personalization options that can be added onto the vehicle and that isnt added to the final bill of sale, which is excellent to me and I actually love that about them. Lexus is such a luxury vehicle and so affordable that anyone can afford them.
Me and my brother were driving from oregon to california. He was in a Lexus 2014 IS 250. We were going down the 5 freeway around 65-70mph when I saw his brake lights turn on and he lost control of the car. Before he hit the division line you could see how the brake lights were on but the car didnt stop, it just burned wheel and then he knocked down the division pole going an average speed of 30 mph - where he went on the opposite side of the freeway, where he was hit by a semitruck, leaving him in the hospital and the death of our pet.
Incredibly my Lexus GX 470 has the paint peeling off the roof (Already peeled off the hood, which they agreed to fix) and now Lexus Corporate refuses to pay to have the roof repainted. This is not a CHEAP VEHICLE and one that you would expect this from. I am driving around with grey headliner exposed in 2 big areas of the roof and top of windshield- what an advertisement for Lexus to show everyone how bad Lexus Vehicle paint jobs are. So incredibly dissatisfied with Lexus Corporate refusing to make good on a problem that never should happen with a SUV they make. Will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LEXUS!!!
I leased a 2013 Lexus ES350 from Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2013. This is the 4th or 5th Lexus ES350 that I have leased and have been very satisfied until this car. We are both retired and have less than 9000 miles on it. We had driven this car without any problems up until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we went to start the car and the battery was dead. Sewell sent roadside service and replaced the battery. All was good until April 2015. Same problem, dead battery. They checked it out and said everything was good. In April 2015 same problem. They have checked it out. Cannot find problem. Said we dont drive it enough. If so, how did we drive it for over one year with no problems. Anyone else have same problem?
2014 ES300H - Will NEVER buy another Lexus nor recommend one to family/friends. They DONT stand by their product. Car was only 3 years old & the front passenger door lock malfunctioned. It needed a new door lock actuator. Because I was out of warranty (over 50K miles), they said it wouldnt be covered & the cost was significant. The dealership convinced them since the car was still new, they should cover the cost. Eventually they did. Approximately 9 mos after that lock malfunctioned, the driver side one did the SAME thing. Obviously theres some defective parts in this car given it just turned 4 years old. This time Lexus said theyre not paying for it - they already gave me a courtesy service last year. Can you believe this? Didnt want to hear anything about it even when I tried to call. Wow - so much for customer service! Car wasnt even 4 years old and BOTH door locks stopped working. Think there may be a serious problem here? This is not only an inconvenience but also a SAFETY issue! The dealership was even shocked Lexus wouldnt pick up the tab. Given the car sticker was $48K and bought brand new in 2014, you would think they would backup their product, especially a Lexus. Dont count on it... reconsider before you buy a Lexus!! Truly not the same car it used to be.
I’m pretty bummed my Lexus RX 350. I bought it at Lexus of Naperville in 2013. It has 54,000 miles now and needs a new engine. It blew a head gasket with no warning, It’s out of warranty and Lexus corporate office denied any assistance. $10,000 worth of work??? I’ve keep up with the maintenance. Had 1 oil change outside of Lexus because their mechanics were on strike. Sorry for the long text. Needed to vent to someone. I’ll have to get it fixed but I’m no longer a Lexus fan. The only good thing is the service Manager Mike really did his best to help???
In 2011 I bought a certified pre-owned 2007 ES350 with 27,000 miles. I experienced rough shifting-clunking and jumping forward on hills. I took it in 4 times to the dealer in Fife, WA and duplicated the problem with the service manager. They reset-updated the computer on the transmission 3 times. But I still have the same problem. I wanted the problem taken care of before the warranty expired. The service manager told me that they could not fix it and would not replace the transmissions computer.I have had two other Lexus. I am very disappointed with their response to this problem. I paid extra for the certification and what did I get? Not what I would expect from a QUALITY car company.
The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.
My local Lexus of Kendall (FL) dealer nor Lexus corporate have resolved a problem with my 2013 ES 300h after many attempts. Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work. I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said its not a Lexus defect because on one side it is perfect circle. I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.
This brand goes to great lengths to add detail to the interior of the car. The detail makes the car feel classy. Intuitive gauges to slick interior is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Gauges are setup in a way that makes it easy to read. Car stark is awesome. The options on wheels was something I liked and upgraded audio was something I found extremely valuable. Updated dashboard lighting was also a plus. Im happy with the amount of space inside the vehicle. I have a family of four plus a dog and never have any issue packing my car for trips.
The entertainment module must have more shorts than Bermuda. It changes music modules, freezes on volume settings, freezes on XM channels, etc. Changing fan speeds will often lead to music module changes as well as other unexpected changes to controls in the entertainment module. This has been a continuing problem since purchase. We were told that the radio was replaced but that was either a lie or the replacement radio was an equal piece of junk and driving under high-power lines is not a consistent cause of the changes. Chasing the corporate dollar has led to the demise of another higher priced vehicle!
Lexus NX/Lexus LS/Lexus GS. These vehicles are among the most luxury driven off the brand and has all innovative features you would come to expect in premium quality and value for the most discriminating of automobile tastes. Has performance driving modes for a choice in speeds, all weather drive to run in all kinds of adverse conditions and all exclusive class seating. You can as many options that you would like such as rear view cameras, lane assist, blind spot detect, climate control and adjustable seating. Has executive class seating for the driver and passenger and backseat comfort with plenty of adjustable leg room, has temp control for passenger comfort. Very quiet and smooth riding with all the features youd expect.
I just recently purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2012 Lexus RX350 with only 13,000 miles on it from Lexus of Monterey, California. As soon as I took it on the highway at over 60 miles per hour, there is a loud wind noise. It sounds like the passenger window is open, even though it is not. I have taken it back to the dealership 2 times, and they just tell me there is nothing wrong with the windows or the seal. They say the RX 350 is an SUV and just louder than a sedan, and to just get used to it. This is such an illogical argument. I have owned 3 different SUVs in over 30 years, and have never heard wind noise like this. I went online and there are hundreds of the exact same complaint about the wind noise in the Lexus RX350. Yes, I agree, as others have said on this site, there needs to be class action suits brought against Lexus. This is ridiculous to pay this kind of money for a supposedly luxury car and have a loud wind noise issue. And from what I have read on this Consumer Affairs site, there are many more serious negative issues with the RX as well. I am trying to get my money back and will not buy another Lexus.

I have a Lexus IS250 2008. Always park my car in my driveway, lived in the same place for 3 years and had my car for 3 years too. One night, came home, locked my car like every time. Next day woke up, getting ready to go to work, open my car and for my surprise my airbag was stolen - my whole entire system. They took the most expensive items from the car. They did not cut alarm wires or broke into the car. Made a police report, gave them evidence of what we found. We found what they call is a ghost key. This type of keys open any coded car without getting the alarm to go on. I contacted the dealer customer service and I ask how safe and secured is their car and they told me that it was the best car in security system. When I told them what had happened to my car they didnt know what to say and didnt want to help. My insurance told me that my car was a total loss. I was mad and disappointed with the Lexus company. I had a BMW before and it is a better secured car than the Lexus.
I have a 2007 GX470 around 55000 thousand miles and park inside garage most of the time. I notice lil small crack around my cluster/meter for months now and I figure oh its just a small crack and then one day I notice a long crack running from left to right about 2 ft long. I call Lexus and they told me bring it in and they take pictures and turn out my extended warranty not cover. WTH and they had the nerve to charge me around $1200 and they ask can I afford to paid $500+. I told them I cant afford to paid anything. It suppose to be cover and they even said that they have customer with same problem. They will contact me 3-4 weeks and let me know how much it cost. Makes me dont want to buy any kind of Lexus car ever. Im disgusted.
I am currently leasing a car from Lexus, and I am moving from one state to another. I tried to contact Lexus customer service for the instructions I should follow to complete the registration. Based on their misleading instructions, I have been to the DMV 3 times, wasted three days, and so far, I got nothing done. The customer service gave me different instructions every time and was always 100% sure about the incorrect instructions they gave me. They also insisted that the DMV told me the wrong instructions, but it is the DMV that will get the title registered. I called them the 4th time today, and they finally got some instructions kind of consistent with the DMV. But they kept telling me to provide them some documents via Fax and no emails... I have to say, this car will be my last Lexus.
Lexus has all the features, heated seats, camera, automated startup, etc. Most of all the move ride and the added benefits. Theres also the warranty, factory and the extended, and my gap insurance. And my plates included in repayments. Plus theres the black shimmer, leather seats, chrome rims, leather interior, tinted windows, colored lights, front grill, and front and backseat TVs. I get replacement tires for every 200,000 miles or wear and tear in the first. 2 years. Free oil checks for the first 2 years. Sirius radio free for 6 months. Theres ROOM SPACE Reclining seats, USB and I pad. Build in GPS, luxury, comfort. Auto airplay and android auto. Bluetooth connectivity, WiFi, apps. Gesture and character recognition, voice control.
I bought the car in February of 2005. Today the mileage is 87,000. Besides tires and a brake job the car has not been out of service. Start each and every time and has had zero problems. The seats are still in perfect shape, no rattles or strange noises. Fit and finish are still in perfect shape.
My car was dead in the driveway. I called Lexus Roadside 800 448-1505 and asked them to send a repair truck WITH a new battery. A AAA tow truck arrived. He said he could not sell me a battery; he can only tow or jump the old battery. I want to make this very clear, I was very willing to pay for the new battery. And although he had a battery on the truck he could not sell it to me. After speaking with corporate, Lexus admits that the contract specifically states that service is tow or jump only.
This has been the worst car I have ever purchased. When I first got it, the rear view mirror started turning dark and the stuff inside started turning black and now its horrible. Years later, the Dashboard and the door panels started getting sticky and anytime you touched them they got black stuff on your finger and would scratch the panels. The dash is so shiny that when you drive in the day you cant even see out the window because of the glare. Now the navigation system doesnt work and it operates the ac, radio, navigation and everything else about the car. I took it to the dealership and they wouldnt touch the nag because the dashboard would fall apart and they dont want to be responsible. They said this happens to everyone that comes in. I called lexus and they cant do anything for me because there hasnt been any complaints filed (what the rep tells me) yet all over the internet thats all you read. Its a shame, my wife want to trade her car in for a new lexus, but there is no way, especially when they wont even help us.
IS250 Lexus door panels - You cant touch the doors or lean on them, or they become dented. Lexus will not replace it, says I have to pay 3000 to fix it. I really like the car, but my doors look all cut up because I cant touch them without scratching them up.
I have a 2013 model Lexus rx450. Just completed 130k km recently and the car serviced only in lexus. One month before it was showing check hybrid system warning when I checked in the computer system it is saying that to replace battery pack. When I visited the UAE dealer they are saying that it has only 5years warranty and new vehicles have 8 years 160k km. It made me upset so people like us who bought these technology by believing the brand are fools. Now they are saying that it will cost minimum 20k aed to 30k aed. If I sell the car it will get a maximum of aed 60k. Regards, Muneer **. Dubai, UAE.
This year I purchased my 3rd Lexus at McDermott in East Haven. I must admit that my purchasing experiences have all been fine but there was something unique and special about Charlie ** as the Client Advisor. Immediately, I found Charlie to be welcoming and eager to help me find the perfect car with the correct color that fits into my small 1929 garage. He was totally accommodating to my weekend requests for appointments and was a man who listened and remembered my requests. He could do a dissertation on Lexus history which I found fascinating plus there is no match for his wonderful sense of humor. In addition, it’s not over with the signing of the contract. Charlie has said that I can call him anytime I have a question about the car! This has been validated and is such a great pleasure to have this option. In addition to Charlie, there is an excellent Service Dept with Tanya and co-workers. And, there is Ryan M., A certified Lexus Technology Specialist to navigate buyers thru the technology maze and Crystal, Business Manager to help clients thru the paper maze!! Thank you Mr. McDermott for have such an exemplary team!!
If I could rate 0 stars I would. I lease a Lexus IS300Fsport, I have had it for about 1 1/2 years now and I have had several issues with my car and Lexus does not care about trying to fix my problems. Ill start with when taking it in for oil change and regular service I advised them that my rear passenger tire had a problem because it was losing air and I was having to fill the tire every two weeks. I was told on 3 separate occasions there was nothing wrong with the tire. In December on my way to a meeting 2 hours away from home on the Turnpike I had a blow out on that tire. As of today I am still waiting for the service manager of the Fort Pierce location to call me back. When taking the car to a tire place I was informed that all 4 tires needed to be replaced as they were all cracked/dry rotted. This car is only 1 1/2 years old and has 25,000 miles. I was then shown that I needed brakes in the front. I spent $1,700.00 for tires and brakes on a new car. I have had many cars in my time and have never had to replace tires and brakes that soon and that low mileage. When I called the corporate office their response was that it was not uncommon. How is that even possible. They had no interest in helping me. On December 25, 2019 I got in the car to find a very nasty wet odor, I proceeded to feel the carpets and found that the passenger back carpet and under the seat was very wet, I dropped it off to the Kendal dealership as I was down there and going out of town. They had my car for 17 days. Never called to update me about the car nor called at any time to tell me what they were trying to do. I called every two days and got no information. After 17 days they called to tell me that they could not find anything and that I needed to pay them because they took the passenger seat out (without calling me to let me know this). By the way the car is under warranty. After 17 days I picked up my car with the same wet smell and wet carpet with them telling me I must have left a window open which I did not! They would not even dry it out for me which I asked them to do so that I could see if it happened again. I left the dealership and noticed that the cover plate underneath the car was not attached and was dragging, I went right back for them to tell me that it was not a big deal. It just needed to be clipped on, well why would the service person not do that before taking the car down off the lift. I then get home and it was dark at this point, but the next morning I woke to see that my driver side rim is destroyed!! I called the dealer immediately to advise them of this for them to tell me the manager was on a business trip and would return Saturday 1/18. I am at this point still waiting for him/her to call me back to discuss this matter. This is a lease and I can not turn the car in with a destroyed rim nor do I want to drive a $50,000 car that is only 1 1/2 years old with a destroyed rim. I am so disappointed in Lexus product but even more so with their staff/managers at more than one location. I would advise anyone thinking of getting a Lexus to spend your money elsewhere. I have been the owner of very expensive sports cars and have never had problems like this. The worst part is that Lexus does not even care! I guess that is what you can do when you are such a big cooperation. My daughter in law was either buying my lease out when it came time or getting a Lexus. I have advised her not to do either.... Very unhappy customer!
I have a Lexus GS460 2011 and been using for more than three years now, and recently my ABS broke down. We bought new one for 4,000 dollars. After replacing it, unfortunately, the same problem occur. That means I have to buy again new one for another 4,000 dollars. Company should make it cheaper because the cause of the problem is from the manufacturer side. I am thinking of buying another car before the incident happened but now I have doubts and confusion to buy or not because Im scared to take risk the same issues might occur.
Bought a RX350 (2008) Certified Preowned Lexus in 2009 from PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX. In 2013, I noticed a crack in the dashboard by the driver’s side vent. Called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX and was told cracks in the dashboard are not under warranty and it may have been caused by what I was using to clean the dashboard. After arguing with the service guy he went to the service manager and they agreed to repair it and they did.Now in 2018, I have two cracks in the dashboard by the passenger air vent. Researched on the internet to see if other Lexus owners had similar issues. To my surprise many owners have this issue and Lexus had offered to replace the entire dashboard if you have cracks or melting of the dashboard. The dealership told me I needed to call corporate to obtain approval for the dashboard replacement. I called corporate office and they did not show the cracked dashboard had been previously repaired and the offer to replace the defective dashboard had expired in October 2017. I asked if they could repair just the cracks like last time and was told that decision is up to the dealership.I called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX to see if I could still get the dashboard replaced or repaired. Their system showed the crack in the dashboard was repaired in October 2009. The dealership did not correspond to corporate of my previous repair which I have documentation and receipt. After speaking to the service representative and service manager they will not replace the dashboard since it is up to corporate to approve and will not repair the cracks because one of the cracks is in front of the airbag.Bottom line to replace the defective dashboard I will have to pay approximately ~$2,000. I bought a Lexus based on the reputation of a quality vehicle. Had I known it was so cheap that the dashboard would need to be totally replaced in less than 10 years my decision would have been different. I understand vehicle parts wear out and need to be replaced but not a dashboard. This car is always garaged at home and at work and only has 76k miles. A dashboard should not have cracks on a vehicle this soon and definitely not on any quality luxury car. Based on this experience I would strongly recommend others to stay away of a LEXUS and PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO.
This Lexus 350 ES is very comfortable, roomy, smooth & quiet ride. Also good looking, feels heavy on the road, great services. Had to get the ES since RX too high for me - not comfortable on my back. Convenient dealer for service and free, unlimited car washes!!! 5th Lexus purchased - some different models RX & ES, great service all over the world and especially from this dealer. I love the ease of a loaner when they are doing work on my car. But I would like a tighter turning radius for the car and to have the ES in a hatchback type of rear for larger packages, luggage, etc. Better gas mileage, cheaper price in purchase and service too.
I have a very critical problem! Im on oxygen 24 hours a day. I rent the Invacare Solar II portable oxygen machine because I can re-charge it in the car by plugging into the car cigarette lighter. I had a life threatening experience while on a trip to Connecticut. I had the Invacare plugged into the cigarette lighter and the end melted and couldnt be used at all. I was stuck on the highway with no oxygen. I have taken the car to the dealership several times and they keep changing the fuse but were not able to fix the problem. The Invacare Solar II is designed to be re-charged from the cigarette lighter.
I purchased my Lexus new, I do live in Florida and have no garage so I ordered a custom window shade to block the sun. After noticing a hairline crack in my dash I researched the problem and found a lot of owners have the same problem. I planned on keeping my Lexus for a long time. (This is my very first new car ever.) I dont know where to turn for help. I will replace the dash but I have been told its the same dash as originally installed.
I had a worst case scenario of a safety recall: defective valves broke and I had total engine failure. Lexus did honor the repair, though I was under 100k mileage, I was over 3 yrs. They kept car 3 wks, replace one engine block and the valves. I paid for brakes, flushing system, and a new starter (car suddenly didnt start when I went to pick up car after 3 wks. Strange! Starter was another $1300. Car has 67,000 miles. This car is terrible... The brakes I can feel under foot and they sound like they need new brakes, not like they just had a brake job. The engine runs rough and loud. Makes some noises. The car also has a roar. The driver door even squeaks now and the whole car makes a noise and is rough. Its embarrassing! Has anyone had any problems? They had to take it apart and put it back together... Im thinking they didnt do a good job. Its not the same car. Any help or advise? I dont even know what to tell them.
I looked through all the models Lexus offered and they have a model for everyone. Soccer mom, cowboy, surfer, or banker. That tells you that Lexus pays attention. I get enjoyment out of my driving experience. The Lexus brand allows you to personalize your car to a great degree. I was able to get all of the features I desired and it was still reasonably priced. People ask me constantly about the features and I tell them you can get it how you like it. When you see my Lexus you know that its a Lexus. From its beautiful exterior lines to its supple leather interior its just a beautiful machine. It has a powerful reliable engine, and wonderful safety features. My Lexus IS very roomy as Im six foot one inches tall and I sit comfortably with three other passengers with plenty of room for more people. I also have plenty of trunk space.
Although I actually like my 2011 RX 450h, I am extremely disappointed with Lexus from a warranty perspective. Basically, it appears absolutely nothing is ever covered under the warranty. Since I purchased this new vehicle two years ago, I have spent thousands of dollars for required maintenance. Additionally, the tires were faulty from day one and required replacement at $1900 a pop. I cant wait for my lease to end so I can get out of this nicely appointed money pit and go back to BMW, where the service requirements are few and far between - and absolutely everything is always covered under the warranty.
My 2013 Lexus ES 350 started leaking not long after we bought it new in August 2013. We have an automatic car wash by our house that we have used for years with no problems. My 13 Lexus always leaks and it has been to the dealership five times to figure out why. I even called them one morning on my way to work because rain was leaking in the roof. I was informed yesterday that the dealership got Lexus involved and that their response was that their car is not designed to go through a high pressure car wash and that it could not be fixed. I was shocked and terribly disappointed by their response. None of my previous cars, nor any of our friends or family who have cars with sunroofs have had a problem at this car wash, but Lexus cant design their car to go through leak free!? If they fixed it or told me they were still going to try and figure it out, it would be a little easier to accept, but to tell the consumer that essentially their car is not built well enough to withstand the same conditions as every other make and model out there indicates to me that it is not fit for operation and not worthy of its price tag!
I bought a brand new 2017 LS 460 an $80,000+ car. I purchased it because Ive had multiple German cars Mercedes and BMW and felt they spend too much time in the repair shop. Well it didnt get much better with my new Lexus. Keep in mind Lexus doesnt have the extra bells and whistles of the German cars so I hoped by buying a Lexus the German car money would go for absolute best build quality and reliability. Right? Keep it simple, make everything out of the best. I should only have to see my dealer for regular scheduled service. I was definitely wrong about that. Ive been in 7 times in 3 months. Ive owned it and theyve fixed nothing. Theyve identified issues but fixed nothing and scratched my rear leather and scratched my dash during a detail. Oh and forgot to clip my rear all-weather floor mat down after a detail so it got caught in my seat rails and ruined my floor mat. It was clipped when I dropped it off.Anyways on top of the dealer not caring for your car if you contact Lexus directly, they dont call you back or they tell you they cant do anything for you. You ask the rep to speak with their supervisor, they say they are as high up in Lexus as you can go and there is nobody else you can speak with. I just dont know what to do. I regret buying a Lexus and Ive only had it a few months. I feel Ive put a good amount of miles on loaner cars. Honestly whenever my German cars broke for example I had a 2016 BMW Z4, whenever I brought it in for service they took care of the problems the first time and always cared about my car. I never got my car back in unsatisfactory condition and they put out the extra effort to diagnose it to fix it correctly. I have yet to receive that kind of service from Lexus. When I brought it in for the scraping noise the dealer said we hear it but we cant find it so youll just have to keep driving it until whatever it is fails. Wait what? I have to drive my brand new $80,000 car until it fails? What kind of work is that. So I called Lexus directly and they told me they side with their franchise dealers diagnosis of the problem. Ill just have to wait, or I can go to another dealer. Im hesitant to go in about the oil burning smell because I want it fixed. I dont want to have a car that I have to wait till it runs out of oil before theyll fix it.Things wrong with the car to date: Rear interior trim/headline piece broke and fell off at 600 miles (although nobody has been in the back seat), plastic trim on dash under stereo warping at 1300 Miles, headliner around sunroof cover coming unglued and snagging on cover at 1400 miles, rough idle at 2300 miles, scraping sound when ambient temperature is below 70 degrees when engine running and driving at 4500 miles still undiagnosed, confirmed but undiagnosed by the dealer, oil burning smell and engine cutting out and surging at 6400 miles need to make a service appointment for this latest disappointment.
2016 Lexus CT 200h - has easy handling, fuel efficiency and hybrid drivetrain. 2016 Lexus ES 300h - a luxury sedan thats safe and stylish. 2016 Lexus GS 200t - nice smooth ride and easy handling, comfortable seating, V-6 powered with all wheel drive. 2016 Lexus GS F - luxury mid-sized sedan and, the car that I purchased, Lexus NX 200t - has a roomy backseat, fuel efficiency and incredible interior. I chose the silver color. I love this crossover SUV because its roomy and can seat up to five people. The Lexus Enform Remote allows me use my smartphone to unlock doors and start the engine. It has heated side mirrors and a backup camera. The Lexus 2016 NX 200t also offers additional significant available features. Some features are the upgrade to all-wheel drive, 18 inch wheels, navigation system, power moonroof, leather upholstery, and heated front seats. It offers impeccable cabin construction. It has split-folding rear seating, power front seats and generous backseat room. I truly love my car.
My 84 year old mother was driving her 2008 RX350 on a crowded street in Richmond, VA when the engine suddenly stalled at a speed of 35mph leaving her without power steering or power brakes. She was able to stop the vehicle but was stranded in an active traffic lane for over 30 minutes fearful of being struck prior to the response to her call to 911 for help. The local Lexus dealer diagnosed that the problem was a broken intake valve spring on an engine with only 76k miles. In spite of the fact that Lexus has identified that they had problems with faulty intake valve springs in the 3.5L engines in 2006-2008 they denied that that was a possible cause of this problem. Lexus agreed to cover a portion of the repair as a courtesy, but would not cover the entire repair, which will be over $10,000. I was shocked about how difficult the case manager from Lexus customer satisfaction was to deal with. It sure seems like they are once again trying to distance themselves from known problems. The only reason this car was purchased was the reputation that Lexus made a quality product and stood behind them. I found that to not be the case.
Lexus offers something such as a map and it also offers a useful something that makes sure you dont bump into anything. Its also helpful when youre lost and has many stuff. Im satisfied because it looks great to me with painted red and with the map and controls, with a safety system for getting in and out of a parking spot. There is enough capacity to seat 5 people so Im happy with that and also has an opening in the middle back seat to store something.
Lexus provides the best dealership car care. The best service and quality personnel. I have had my SUV for sixteen years with a minimum of repairs. The Lexus brand is a dependable luxury, safe car no matter what model you choose.
At just over 130,000 miles, my 2002 Lexus ES300 Sedan, which I bought used in 2009, quit running. I had it towed to my mechanic of 14 years. The engine is totally locked up due to oil sludge. The oil had just been changed. There was plenty in the car and it was the color of caramel. The oil my mechanic pulled out of the bottom of the engine is the color of road tar and just about as thick. I serviced my car regularly. He called Lexus and they told him this had been a problem. I’m asking Lexus for a new engine but know it will be a battle regardless of the validity of my claim. Anyone have any advice/recommendation on how to ensure this has a positive outcome for me?
I own a Lexus IS250, 2007. I just moved, and my car is no longer stored in a garage. My dashboard has become soft and sticky; I never seen anything like this before.
I recently bought a 2006 Lexus IS350, For some odd reason it was difficult for me to drive the vehicle due to visibility, turns out the vehicle has a worldwide issue with melting dashboards! Making it hard to drive as it reflects your visibility. The first thing I did was contact my nearest Lexus dealer and ask if they can fix this issue! GUESS WHAT! THEY CANT AND WONT! Turns out theyve extended the warranty already for 10 years, so for customers and drivers who have bought the car after the 10 year mark ARE OUT OF LUCK. THIS IS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL AS IT DIMINISHES YOUR VISIBILITY! Other than this car I also own a 2008 Lexus RX350 WITH NO ISSUES, but Lexus has completely let me down on this. This shows they dont care about their product and customers, sadly this will be my last Lexus.
I own my 4th Lexus car which is a 2020 new 250h UX Lexus model. Ever since the car was delivered to me I am complaining about a strange noise coming from the Runflex tires the car has. The dealer would not accept the complaints nor change the tires and my general very good experience with the previous Lexus cars I owned is now completely different and the ride is just not enjoyable to say the least!!
Had to replace my windshield for the 2017 RX350. It has been two weeks today. Giving various reasons for the delay and informed that it will be another 6 days, since the windshield is on back order. Shocked to find out that a Company like Lexus manufactures cars with various computerized options that are in the windshield and not produce extra windshield. Building about 1000 cars a day, can we not produce a few extra windshields. After all windshields crack often. Feeling frustrated. Looked at a Caddy. Maybe American made is better. But that is hindsight.
My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.
I recently purchased my 2019 GX 460 Lexus from Lexus of Pembroke Pines. I have returned it twice, with complaints that the Navigation is not working correctly. Each time I take it back they insist that It is functioning like the other vehicles that they have in stock. Which is unacceptable. The Navigation system gives the wrong directions. For example, If I am traveling and the expressway, it doesnt recognize that I am on the expressway and tells me that the expressway is approaching on the left, then 1 mile later, it will say the expressway is approaching in the right; when in fact, I am traveling on the expressway.Yesterday, it gave me the wrong directions and I ended up under a bridge, completely lost. This is very frustrating and is a safety concern. I have been advised by an attorney to take the vehicle back once more, and if the problem is not resolved, I will be forced to take legal action. I am certain that there are numerous consumers there with the same complaint.
VIOLENT SHUDDER/SHAKING OF THE ENGINE. When the CT200H is stationary or in motion the engine periodically shakes violently sometimes up to 30 seconds then it goes away. It happened on cold or hot starts. The EGR has been cleaned from carbon build up, has new spark plugs and coils are good. I have lately been noticing coolant loss. NUMEROUS PRIUS AND LEXUS OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. Check engine light. Finally came on with code P0301 cylinder 1 misfire.Called corporate and I was assigned a case manager. Well they were no help. They basically said you dont have warranty on the vehicle so we cant help! Dealer quoted approximately 4500.00 for a blown head gasket (not sure how that happened), a bad intake manifold, and ECU needs to be reflashed. Take into consideration that this vehicle has never been abused, I use it as my commuter vehicle. Also there are many people that have had the same issue with the CT200H and the Prius (both basically have the same engine/components). Anyway Im on the same boat with others on here, I will never buy another Toyota/Lexus. Will move into better vehicles. I highly suggest doing research before investing in a glorified shiny **. Happy holidays. ;)
I own a Lexus 330, my next car will be a larger Lexus. This is the most comfortable and easiest to drive and operate. I went over 5000 miles in 3 weeks, it was great.
I purchase a new 2018 Lexus 350RX three weeks ago. I am extremely disappointed in the Navigation System. First, it seems to take several minutes before the car connects to the service. I asked for direction to a well known business, and was told they could not find it. Please hang up and try again. I tried again, this time they could not find the business, but worse they could not locate my car. Asked if I was near the airport! No it was not. What if this was an emergency and they can’t find me!Yesterday, asked for directions to a Civic Arts Theater, they had the correct address but the nav. system took me to a residential, dead end street. I could see the theater but could not get to it. It wasn’t even the correct street. Again, asked for a restaurant by name - it took me to a location on a freeway. I could see the restaurant from the freeway, and eventually found it. Now, I use Waze. This system doesn’t come close to OnStar.
I own a Lexus 2006 and a year ago I started noticing hairline cracks on the dashboard. I spoke with a Lexus representative and he said that Lexus is aware that it is a manufacture defect and I should take it to the dealer and they should replace it. I took it in to North Miami Lexus dealer. The guy took pictures and said that he submitted the claim. I followed up with him since he never called me back to follow up. After 5 weeks he said that Lexus will replace it but I will have to pay $1000. He also said that I can call Lexus customer service if I am not happy. I did call them and followed up with Customer Service manager, Michael, was told that since the car is outside of warranty (however, very low mileage and they recognize that, could have been covered under that) they can only extend the dealers offer and that is very fair. They never looked at the pictures since the dealer didnt upload them and apparently someone in the other department declined for Lexus to take full responsibility for the defect. After searching the issue online, I realize that I am not the only one with the same issue and that different Lexus owners were offered different deals. My belief is that they never even looked into the issue and I was given the generic answer by the customer service management. This is very disappointing and would love to join a class action suit. Lexus is aware of this defect and just getting away with it. The luxury car dealer is washing their hands off. I am not angry but very dissatisfied to look at the car everyday and see the cracks while it is suppose to be a luxury car.
My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!
My 2008 Lexus Rx-350, the dashboard were cracking and its just only 40,000 miles. And also some of the cosmetic area are started chipping like two side mirror was cracking (clear coated paint) and also the tail back handle has already chipping (clear coat paint) and every time I car wash, the sunroof has also leaking water. But the engine performance were like top of the line. (Acceleration, steering easy to handle - were excellent.)
My vehicle, and doing research there are numerous other Lexus models and years all experiencing oil loss from the timing chain cover gasket causing oil loss that will affect the engine and safety. Lexus has not provided a recall on this known issue. They request $3500 to fix the leak with a new gasket. This has the potential to eventually lock up the engine if enough oil leaks out.
I own a 2012 Lexus CT 200h. Absolutely love my car. 2 1/2 weeks I was in a car accident that was not my fault. My car went to Lexus of the quad cities to get an estimate. While in for getting the door fixed rust was noticed on both of the front door seams. We questioned it and had to get in contact with Lexus. My husband talked to Shawn directly at Lexus. They sent someone out to look at my car. Since my car has rust on the seams they will not cover it, as it is not rusted through. Lexus warranty says corrosion or perforation for 6 years unlimited miles. Since the door was already being painted it would not cost anymore to fix the seam under the door. Shawn told my husband nothing he could do about it and no one else he could speak to. I dont know about you but who wants to spend $40,000 on car that is only 4 years old and its rusted. I guess I thought buying a Lexus was not buying a Ford Focus, even though I owned a Ford Focus 10 years ago and it never rusted. Customer service not good, neither is warranty.
Overall, our Lexus has performed very well. But, I do have a few minor complaints. First, the paint on the Lexus is very soft and chips easily. The dealer told me that was because of EPA paint requirements. Funny, my Ford which has more abusive use than the Lexus doesnt have paint chipping. I found out too late that there is a clear coat they could have installed over the front to protect the paint. But then, why should I have to pay extra to keep their paint from chipping. Second, very early on, I noticed a minor clicking sound in the engine. Sounded like a lifter on an older car, but only when its cold. I took it in and they kept it overnight but couldnt hear it. Over the years, its become quite a bit louder and when the engine is cold it sounds like a diesel. I just turned over 100,000 miles on the car and other than brakes and tires, its been painless.
My wife’s 2016 Lexus ES350 was brought in for an oil change. They told her the car needed new tires. It only has 17k miles on it, while the tires are rated for 50k. Lexus will not cover it under warranty. I’ve owned Mercedes, Cadillac, Infinity, BMW and Porsche and have never had this experience ever. This will be the last Lexus I ever purchase/lease!
Ive been a Lexus owner for many years but recently got a shock on the service charge.. Very high compared to previous services. On examination, most things listed were checked and the supposed listing of balanced all wheels Im told by insider staff did not take place, as did a number of other things. Its likely less than 2 hours was spent on the service but they charged the full service fee. On top of that there is an unexplained miscellaneous charge. I doubt many of the things listed took more than a min or 2 and the labour charge is inflated. I suspect these costs are deliberately inflated motivated by greed, personal bonuses etc and it seems to me that Lexus has changed its approach from providing clear and reasonable service to customers to one of ripping them off and not caring at all.Owners should be told in advance of the basic cost of a service and not be surprised by large charges, and clearer explanations should be given. This is the norm for any service e.g. visiting the Dr or any other professional or trade services. There seems to be an attitude at Lexus that its a prestige car, therefore customers should pay more. Some friends and colleagues also with Lexus cars have found the same.. ie increase in charges without notice and the lack of pre service consultation. Lexus used to have my loyalty and trust.. No more..
I bought a brand new Lexus GS 350 in December from Lexus dealer in Raleigh NC. I paid $3000 for Navigation system in car. Car itself sticker price over $50,000.Navigation system had older road map, and 3-year old roads does not exist in this system. I asked Lexus dealer in Raleigh NC to update system, which most $100, navigation system offers free. Lexus want additional $250 for changing this software after paying all the prices for the car and very expensive price for a GPS Navigation system. SO for any one buying a new car, ask the dealer to install a new software before you pay for the old system.
I have been leasing a 2015 Lexus CT200h. Within 6 months into my lease radio started turning off and resetting back to factory settings. Meaning all my channels, bass, treble settings all of that got deleted. Bluetooth would have to be reconnected each time. I reached out to Lexus of Seattle immediately to resolve the issue. The dealer told me theres nothing they can do about it.. Shocker.. I then reached out to customer satisfaction who then arranged for the car to be looked at, at Lexus of Bellevue. They began telling me its my phone, or my bluetooth connection. After going through 3 different phones and the issue persisting they finally had a technician who was able to have the same issue happen to him while he was connected on HIS personal cell phone. So finally they agreed to replace the radio with a NEW radio. Well after installment of the new radio turns out it wasnt so new, and more than like refurbished because someone else was already listed on the bluetooth connectivity. I had pointed this out to the dealer who simply told me to deal with it and there is nothing else they can do. Fast forward 2.5 years later I am driving a LEXUS with a radio that goes out every other time I drive it. I AGAIN reached out to customer satisfaction which at this point, mind you, this is 3 brand new phones later, 2 stereos later, customer satisfaction is telling me I need to go to the dealer AGAIN, have them mimic the problem AGAIN, (mimicking the problem could take several tries and several trips) and go through the whole procedure which I already had gone through, AGAIN! I kept on explaining to them that there is not justifying this kind of nonsense. If this vehicle clearly has a flaw, either take the vehicle back and call it a lemon or stop wasting my time! This vehicle is a lemon! I have told them this so many times and all they say is that because it is not a safety issue they will not consider it as a lemon. Well, it is a safety issue! When I am driving on the freeway and the radio goes out on a 2015 Lexus am I to pull over every time and quickly try to reset all my channels just so I can have the luxury of listening to music?? Or perhaps I should drive in silence and just reminisce on the good old days when a 1999 Ford would have a working stereo with no issues? This is a safety issue. It distracts me from my drive. It interrupts my drive! I will never consider buying a Lexus again! There has been ZERO customer satisfaction in my whole experience since driving off the lot on this godawful car and the run around that I have been put on to resolve an issue on THEIR car! Its a lease. Its not even my car and Lexus has done nothing to ensure that I am satisfied. Lexus should be embarrassed that a 2015 Lexus doesnt have an operable stereo. So much for Pursuit of perfection. What a joke. I am sure there are by far better manufacturers that appreciate their consumers and go above and beyond to ensure that the consumer is happy. At this point Lexus Customer Satisfaction is telling me to either keep wasting my time, gas, money to go to a dealer to diagnose the faulty stereo (which as stated above has ALREADY BEEN DONE) or there is nothing else they can do... Boy Lexus you really have screwed your reputation. Never did I think I would be saying this about Lexus. Thanks to the lovely Lexus dealers that were least bit helpful, and thank you to Customer satisfaction, the irony in that, I will never been buying, looking, considering or recommending a Lexus to anyone.
They sell luxury vehicles ranging from the sporty CT 200h to the classic 4 door ES 350 sedan and the RX 350 SUV. They include the best safety features and have spacious interiors with every amenity you could ask for. They also have state of the art safety features to protect you in a collision. The exterior designs are both sporty and modern. Roomy interiors with the latest in equipment and amenities. Plus theres plenty of room for 5-6 adults/children in the RX 350 with room to spare for packages, suitcases or sports equipment. There is also plenty of storage space in the doors and on the back of the seats.
Rx350 Years behind in electronics and user interface. Inconsistent at best. From maps, to rear hatch to phone interface, to trip data it all is terrible. I turned in a Ram 1500 that was two years older but years advanced on all those features. The ride of the Ram was also much better. My previous four Genesis were also much more friendly.
Its funny how Lexus is marketing this brand as a luxury car but forgets to stand behind the cheap quality product when a problem arises. At 10,000 miles Ive ended up paying for an alignment as the car was pulling badly to the side. Bear in mind the car was never involved in any collision. The alignment didnt solve the problem and the car is still pulling. At 20,000 miles Im ending up with the breaks at 0!!! How is that even possible for a quality car? No consideration for customers concerns or complaint. Now I know why Lexus is not willing to cover anything under their warranty which proves that Lexus is fully aware of the poor quality, cheap parts used for their cars! SHAME ON YOU LEXUS! YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT A LUXURY BRAND!
I recently made a purchase of a 2008 RX350, from Meade Lexus of Lakeside. I decided to go with the Lexus, with the hopes of landing a depending vehicle from a company that cared about their customers well being and to make future purchases. Received the vehicle in Aug. and within 30 days needed a new battery, which is not the end of the world, although unexpected. This weekend however, I took my 11 year old son to Chicago for his birthday and the vehicle started smoking and stalled on me on the 94 E expressway. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop only to be told that the vehicle that I purchased 7 months prior, needs a new engine!! I tried to contact the dealership as well as had the vehicle taken to another repair shop for a second opinion, after the second shop, gave me the same results. I can not believe that this dealership is selling unsafe vehicles to the public. I did all of my research prior to this purchase for this to happen to me. I too, cannot believe that I am making a complaint about a brand that I put so much trust into. My next step is to contact the attorney general office about this situation.
Lexus had a major recall on the dash and replaced it. I just wish they would have done that from the start instead of giving us the runaround.
Horrible customer service. Their sales are not competent enough to know their products. They finalized a deal with us and changed their minds because they found out they didnt have the car. They penalized us because they made a mistake. We even shook hand on this deal.
LEXUS Enform - Sadly just noticed that I have been getting charged $299.90 for automatic renewal every year on a car I have not owned since 2013. Even though the car was traded in they dont automatically cancel or contact you in any way to keep renewing. Out $1500. Ouch!
With 89000+ miles, I was told the timing cover gasket was leaking and to replace it would cost $3000+ because the engine must be pulled. I asked what type of gasket would be replaced. The service manager stated that a liquid gasket would be replaced and that Lexus does not use a fiber gasket. He also stated that the liquid gasket melts from the heat of the engine and causes the leak which happens quite often. When I checked Toyota I found the company uses a fiber gasket on their timing cover. This is a definite design flaw in the RX 350. No doubt the melting of the liquid gasket contaminates the oil. Because of the risk of the leak to happen again, as soon as I can afford it, the RX 350 will be traded for a Toyota. It proves that Lexus vehicles are high maintenance and too expensive to own.
Park my car. Everything were fine with the car. I have a 2001 lexus 300gs with a 124,456 miles. The next morning started the car. Abs vsc off and brake light were on and I didnt have no brakes.
The gas mileage is about 19.5 around town & about 21.5 long distance. I love the comfortable ride & for a 6 cylinder it has GREAT pick up. I used to have a Cadillac & the car is extremely comfortable and comparable to the Cadillac. The only regret I have is the trunk isnt as big as I was used to. I get a lot of compliments on my nice-looking car. All in all I love my Lexus ES350!
2013 Lexus RX350, zero accident, South County Maintained at 62K miles it already had Cylinder head gasket leak. Failed to meet my expectations of 100k miles... Failed to meet the Reliability Pedestal.
At the end of 2015 I started receiving offers from Lexus to turn in my current Lexus leased vehicle and lease a new one. The offer included waiving the disposition fee and the remaining lease payments. Since my lease was up in April 2016 and I was happy with my current CT200h I decided to go ahead and exercise the offer. I called and verified that I was eligible and I checked with the dealership when I made the trade-in. Both Lexus Financial and the Lexus dealership confirmed I was eligible. Two months later and I am still paying for the car I turned-in early in January, Lexus Financial cant find the money automatically withdrawn from my checking account, and has sent me to collections! Im supposed to pay double for a car I turned in under their offer? And the collections agent flat-out lied about the status of my account. Her response when I told her the money had been withdrawn? No, your bank took it back. So, here I am stuck with a car I now hate, a bill for six months of lease payments on a car that only had three more payments to go.
Showed the service writer Jaime at Pembroke Pines Lexus the center console covering that was cracking and degrading. He wrote up a service order and told me he would contact me in a few days regarding a warranty claim. I called him a week later and he told me that the person that handles warranty claims went on vacation and would be back in a week. I went away and after I returned I called him on February 5th or so. He said he had not heard anything but he would contact the appropriate people and have an answer for me by days end. I told him if I did not hear from him I would be calling Lexus. He assured me he would call that day. I never heard from him.I called Lexus USA and spoke to Ed. He said he would check into it and get back to me by Friday. I missed his call on Friday. He called Tuesday and informed me that as the dealer had told me, the damage as normal wear and tear. I just told him that my family had 4 Lexus automobiles and they would be our last. When you sell a car for $75,000, the interior should last more than 3 years. My previous car was a 2003 Cadillac, cost 1/2 as much and when I bought the Lexus the center console was in better shape after eight years of use than the Lexus is after 3 years. By the way, Ed from Lexus offered to pay for 1/2 the repair. As far as I am concerned the Lexus warranty is only a 1/2 warranty shown by this situation.
There are many Lexus fun luxury models. I looked at Extreme Luxury XJ3, XJ1 -- all good models for me, priced different. Very hard to choose the one I wanted and took three months to pick. Waited to test drive till I was sure. Went online to check different models colors, prices to be sure. Had many things I wanted -- leather seats, CD player, GPS tracking, GPS navigation, and any add-on I could think of for me, heated seats, etc. Love two colors, white and black, and went with black. Overall love the two-door model. Just wanted four people capacity. Thats all I would need being childless. Four doors and more room wasnt needed for me. Like the more compact cars anyway. Easier to drive and love it better. Great color and model, and its the best for me.
