Kia Automobile Model 2026 Kia Sorento

2026 Kia Sorento

The 2026 Kia Sorento is a midsize three-row SUV that continues to be one of Kia’s most versatile and family-friendly vehicles. It sits between compact crossovers like the Seltos and larger SUVs like the Telluride, offering a strong mix of space, efficiency, and modern technology. For 2026, the Sorento builds on its recent redesign with updated features, multiple powertrain options, and improved safety systems.

Overview and Design.
The 2026 Sorento carries forward its bold, squared-off styling introduced in recent updates. It features a more upright front end, a wide grille, and vertically stacked LED headlights that give it a tougher, more SUV-like presence compared to earlier versions. Subtle updates for 2026 include revised trim details and a more refined appearance on certain trims, especially the rugged X-Line and X-Pro variants.

The overall design balances urban sophistication with a hint of off-road capability. It looks more substantial than compact SUVs but remains easier to manage than larger full-size models.

Inside, the Sorento offers a modern and upscale cabin. A curved dual-screen setup combines two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, creating a clean and high-tech dashboard.
Materials are solid throughout, with higher trims offering leather seating, premium stitching, and a more refined finish.

Performance and Powertrain.
One of the Sorento’s biggest strengths is its variety of powertrain options.

The standard gas model uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing around 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
This setup provides strong acceleration for a vehicle of this size and is one of the more powerful options in the segment.

For efficiency-focused buyers, there are hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions.

The hybrid uses a 1.6-liter turbo engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a balance of power and fuel savings.
The plug-in hybrid adds a larger battery, allowing for short-distance electric-only driving while still offering a gas engine for longer trips.

All-wheel drive is available or standard on many trims, which is especially useful for Canadian driving conditions. Terrain Mode is now standard on AWD models, improving traction in snow, mud, and sand.

Fuel Economy.
Fuel efficiency varies depending on the powertrain.

Gas models provide reasonable efficiency for a midsize SUV, while hybrid models significantly improve fuel economy. Plug-in hybrids offer the best efficiency, especially for short daily commutes where electric driving can be used.

This range of options allows buyers to choose between performance, efficiency, or a balance of both.

Technology and Features.
The Sorento is packed with modern technology.

The infotainment system includes navigation, smartphone integration, and voice controls, all displayed on a large, responsive screen. Over-the-air updates and digital key functionality are available on higher trims, adding convenience.

Driver assistance features are extensive and include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and forward collision avoidance. Newer safety features include junction-turn braking and evasive steering assist on select trims.

Additional available features include a digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, and premium audio options.

Interior Space and Practicality.
The Sorento offers three rows of seating, typically accommodating six or seven passengers depending on configuration.

The first and second rows are spacious and comfortable, with available heated and ventilated seats. The third row is more suitable for children or shorter trips but is still usable compared to many competitors.

Cargo space is flexible, with fold-flat rear seats allowing for expanded storage. This makes the Sorento a practical choice for families, road trips, and everyday errands.

Driving Experience.
The Sorento is tuned for comfort but still offers a confident driving experience.

The turbocharged engine provides strong acceleration, while the suspension delivers a smooth and composed ride. Steering is light and predictable, making it easy to drive in both city and highway conditions.

Hybrid models prioritize efficiency and smoothness, while AWD versions add confidence in poor weather.

Overall, it strikes a balance between comfort, capability, and performance.

Trim Levels and Pricing.
The Sorento is available in multiple trims, typically starting with LX and moving up through EX, SX, and X-Line or X-Pro variants.

In Canada, pricing generally starts in the low 40,000 dollar range and can climb into the 50,000 dollar range or higher for fully loaded hybrid or plug-in hybrid models.

This positions it competitively against other midsize SUVs, especially considering its range of powertrain options and features.

Pros.
Available hybrid and plug-in hybrid options for efficiency.
Strong turbocharged engine performance.
Three-row seating with flexible interior space.
Modern technology and safety features.
Available all-wheel drive with terrain modes.

Cons.
Third row is tighter than larger SUVs.
Dual-clutch transmission may feel less smooth at low speeds.
Higher trims can get expensive.
Not as large or luxurious as full-size competitors.

Final Thoughts.
The 2026 Kia Sorento is one of the most well-rounded midsize SUVs available. It offers something for almost every type of driver, whether you prioritize performance, fuel efficiency, or family practicality.

We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!

I bought a new car from Kia in November at 9 pm. After spending about 3 hrs there because the salesmen who promised to give me a better deal went home without calling me they then tried to charge me about a 100.00 more than the other dealer. The next day I noticed a small ding in door but was going to let it go until I noticed part of the rear bumper area had waves or indentations throughout it. I finally got it fixed after being laughed at originally. Three months ago I noticed the paint on my car starting to pop. There are no dents on the car and it is garage kept yet they are trying to avoid fixing it and blaming it on something contaminating the paint. This is garage kept in a personal parking spot at work with no trees around it. I partially blame the dealer. But for Kia corporate not to take action is inexcusable. I have missed work because of the stress this has put on me and I now may have to take legal action to get it fixed

Got this car in a lease in 2017 from a very bad Kia dealership in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Continuously kept up with oil changes. The rear tail light on the driver side malfunctioned or I had to replace it twice because the seal was not staying sealed. Then I’d PCS to Hawaii 105 thousand miles. And with no notification the car stops running. Take it to the dealership and they said, Oh well I’m sorry. You’re 5000 miles over the warranty. So there’s nothing that I can do. It’s $15,000 for a new motor. Very discouraging From dealership and Kia consumer affairs. Do not buy any Kia vehicles.

On July 19, 2012, I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from Riverchase Kia, 2200 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124. I shopped this vehicle on their website. I wrote the VIN, stock number, color, and price down on my pad. When I got to the lot, I found the vehicle. During negotiation, I was told if they honored the website price, they could not let me take advantage of the $5000 pull-in/drag-in trade that they advertised on television. I was told by the salesman and the finance person there was no rebate on the 2013 models Sorentos. During closing of my vehicle, I noticed $5000 trade was made up of $3500 trade plus a $1500 rebate. They told me the manufacturer would not allow the dealer do both. If this is true, they need to express this writing on their website as well as on their TV commercials. All this brings to the question of truth in advertising. Please address this, I feel somewhat cheated. You have a product that can stand on its own, Dont taint it with deceiving advertising practices.

After reading all the problems and issues everyone has faced with the Engines seizing in their Kia Sorentos, I was terrified that I would have the same issues. On April 20th, I was driving my 2012 Kia Sorento when without any warning my engine shut off, lost power steering, braking and everything. It was a pretty intense few seconds while I was sure I was going to get into a major head on collision. I managed to get to the side of the road. I tried restarting the engine - nothing, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and then the inside of the car started filling up with smoke and the smoke started rolling out from under the hood. I got out of the car, grabbed the fire extinguisher I have in the back, lifted the hood and was prepared to see flames. Nothing but lots of smoke. The care was towed to the dealer and was told the engine had suffered a catastrophic failure and seized. Thats when I started reading about all the issues everyone has been having.Kia instructed the dealer for me to show proof of maintenance, I went to the mechanic that has done all my service and he gave me a printout of the services performed. Kia still was on the fence and had the dealer pull the cover and check for sludge. The engine was clean - no sludge whatsoever. I did some research and found out that there is a lawsuit in progress against Kia for this very issue, plus a recall notice. Long story short, document everything, keep your records, do some research and having everything with you when this happens to you. Kia is replacing my engine with a remanufactured long block and providing a rental car at their cost, all covered under the warranty. I had 85K on the car when the engine seized.

I have called several times, but I can not wait longer than 30 minutes while at work. I tried the web, but I cant register as the error says my birthday is wrong. As stupid as this may sound, I tried several times to get on auto pay since I had moved several items that when I stopped getting invoices, I assumed I had finally been successful. And as I had a new bank account that I was using for bills, I assumed the payment was coming out of that. I didnt realize I was in arrears until a collector called and threatened me. I paid the arrears and still cant get them on the phone or the web to get auto pay set up. I havent gotten a bill this month. It is a very pathetic customer service. I am just trying to give them money.

At the beginning of December 2011, I brought my 2008 Rio5 to the Kelowna dealer to check out a rubbing sound from under the hood. They said it was probably a bushing. Now it is December 30 and they keep sending estimates to Kia then sending an estimate for something else. When I phone the Kia service/warranty number, they say well phone the dealer, the dealer says they just submitted another estimate and on and on.I had a trip across Canada planned for Christmas that fell through and it looks like I will miss my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I am at the point where I will take it to a trannie shop then paint my car with a Kia Sucks motif for my very delayed trip.

We have a 2014 Kia rondo. We went to Kia to get bumper repair and they told us its not under warranty. Told us that the little scratch from the shopping cart loosen out. If that little scratch loosen our bumper how cheap this car is really? So call the company direct and they told me the same thing, really?????? Before we bought that car we were told dont buy a Kia, they’re terrible but we didnt listen and now we stuck with that piece of junk thats falling apart and brand new. I will never recommend Kia to nobody. I personally will NEVER OWN another. If that car so cheap that a cart scratch the bumper and the passenger side bumper come all loose well its obvious the car wasnt put together right. So really the cart is not the problem they are and to the company you guys shouldnt lie by saying you have the best warranty cause thats a BIG lie. Buyer beware. Think twice before you buy a Kia.

It will crank over but will not start. It will takes several tries to start, sometimes up to 10 times then drives like nothing happen. I bought it used from Kyle Chapman Motors in Buda. They have had my car for a month trying to fix it. They put used starter on, made a noise then they say it was not lining up with flywheel. They order one from Kia abd, flywheel and clutch - all of this I get back for one day then radio was out then fixed it. Get it back, made it a mile from Chapman Motors and died on me. They have it again. Now order a crank sensors for it. I just do not know what to think. This has cost me 1,437 and still not fixed.

We experienced our 2nd flat tire, seemingly on the same tire, but not sure. When we took the car in, with this flat tire, we were told they were unable to patch and patch and a new tire would be needed. Trouble is, all four tires were new and we had never changed any. The only tire ever attended to prior, was another flat tire we were told was also not repairable. So with 4 new tires, how could we have a patch? Apparently we were not sold a new tire the last time, and instead, replaced by a patched tire. Now they say they dont remember so it is our word against theirs. We are not happy about this.

My 2.4 liter engine is part of a recall of over 1.5 Million cars. Well, my VIN number is not on this list!!! My engine blow for exactly what the recall is for... premature bearing wear causes the engine to throw a rod! Kia says its not covered because I am the second owner, the car has 89,000 miles on it and would have been covered if I was the original owner! THATS NOT THE POINT. This engine was recalled for this problem. End of story! But, NO mine is a Hybrid and they arent a MODEL that was under the recall! Its the same 2.4 liter engine! I have talked to customer service, they sent me to the ESCALATION department. They said its not on the recall list and isnt under warranty. So, now my car has been at Kemper Kia of Bridgewater New Jersey for 3 weeks. Have talked to a very reputable engine repair shop. They told me this is often how they let bad news out about recalls, a few models at a time. I cant wait for them to actually put my car on the list. This really sucks and so does KIA for not covering this AT ALL!!!!

Since we bought the 2003 Kia Rio, we experienced electrical shorts in the HVAC controls, especially in the motor fan control – it burned out. I was told the electrical harness was not on recall and not covered after 12,000 miles.Since they wanted more than $600 for the switch, I fixed it myself. The motor switch has burned up three times. This last time, the harness melted at the switch. It should have a motor resistor but this model does not have one or offer one according to the dealer. Many other Kia owners claim they have had the same problem. Many, fearing for their lives (the car catching on fire) and getting the runaround from Kia, have gotten rid of the car and have sworn never to buy another KIA. I firmly believe a recall on this model is in order, it could save lives. A class action law suit is way overdue.

I am currently in my third lease with Kia and up until now would have remained a loyal customer. I lease a 2016 Kia Soul. It broke down on the highway with 35,000 miles. I get it taken to Kia of Bedford. That whole experience was awful (Kia Roadside Assistance stinks) I am told that I some type of rodent had been eating wires in my car causing extensive damage and it was not a warranty or Kia issue that I would pay out of pocket. Meanwhile I google this and find Kia uses soy based wire covering which attracts rodents. Kia still will not accept responsibility. I file a car insurance claim. Kia has my car for a MONTH! They never had parts in stock, and kept finding new things wrong with my car. I had to call for updates. I found the people working in the service department to be rude, and very cold hearted to the need of the customer. I filed two separate claims with Kia Consumer Affairs because I thought at the least I deserved to be reimbursed my car payment for the month I paid and did not drive my vehicle. They do not respond to phone calls or emails. Basically blow you off. My case was escalated to a Steven ** who called me once to say he needed paperwork that I had already emailed him and hasnt responded to a phone call or email since. I sent letters to the executive team and no response. Kia is a joke. They dont care about the customer. They dont care about keeping customers. And they sell piece of ** cars that you get stuck with and they dont feel bad or care about that either. If you want a good, reliable car, good customer service from a business that cares DO NOT GO TO KIA! Kia just wants your money-but they will not provide any kind of good service to earn it. Run, run, run to any other dealership but a Kia dealership.

I was having my van serviced and fixed. I needed an oil change when my air bag light and check engine light came on. The dealership said that in order to check out the problems it would cost me $90.00 per problem. So I went to lock my doors, and the remote didnt work so I had them look at that. Now the other remote doesnt work either so they checked that out too. They said both remotes do not work . I find it a little weird that both dont work. The car is 4 years old and the one key and remote are in my safe, just in case I lock myself out and so I dont lose them. I would like to know if there is anything Kia can do for me and my family. Between me and my family, we own four Kia cars and we love them so I really hope you can help me.

I purchased a new 2011 Sorento against my better judgment, knowing a first year production is always problem prone. But I have had purchased many Hyundais in the past, and was used to great service, and knowing its the same company, I expected the same quality (WRONG). Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ has the most lying area manager and service department in the nation. They charge repairs to Kia, that they never repair, or even look at. Case at point: Ive had a bad door rattle in the passenger side door since purchase. Ive had the vehicle in for service for 5 times and the repair was charged but never done. The last time, I placed tape under the door to know rather, or not the door panel was opened. And guess what the service manager stated? The door was repaired but the tape was never touched. Enough said. Never, ever, again, would I ever purchase another Kia. My door still annoying like a rattle snake. But how does Kia allow itself to be continued to be ripped off. I would like to still have my door repaired, only 40,000 miles.

We own a 06 Kia Sorento that we bought new from Jack Key in Las Cruces, NM. Once it hit 75K it started falling apart. Now the Kia master mechanic confirms it needs a complete Rear Differential repair, which is covered under the 100K power train warranty. We took the car in over a week & 1/2 and we were told the corporate office will not approve the work because Jack Key did not notify us that we needed to service the Rear Diff. (?). We bought the Car Care plan and utilized Jack Key for all oil changes and maintenance. We had the 30K mile service where they checked all levels and made sure the car was in compliance with scheduled maintenance. NOW the local regional manager is saying that they will not do anything until we prove that we had all the service done (which is IN THEIR SYSTEM). Im completely dismayed and angry at both Kia and the dealership. We invested in a KIA in good faith. In return they will not (in good faith) honor their own agreement! These people have no conscience or integrity. This is a deceptive practice and we may have to resort to a lawyer to resolve this issue if they dont step up to the plate and do the right thing.

2014 KIA CADENZA. I have been a Kia owner for the past 10 yrs. I previously owned the AMANTI that I loved very very much, until the very end when I decided to trade in for a new Cadenza. But I seem to have a internal noise problem with the cadenza. I noticed the clicking noise about 200 mile. I took it to the dealer, however they said could not find a problem. I returned again after 300 miles, still with the problem. The sales manager advised me to wait until after 500 miles to open a case with Kia. I returned the auto after 900 miles, they looked into it. On Nov 13th 2014 they wrote the following on the work order PIT STOP P5282 SIDE CENTER OF SUNROOF, NOISE COMING FROM LOOSE SCREWS HOLDING SUNROOF CURTAIN IN PLACE: 85310R00 3.2 HEADLINER BAR, 81651 - 3R500... FAILED PART, RE-SECURED AND PREFORMED PIT STOP FOR RATTLE. Well after month later the problem return, I wrote an email complaining to dealer that noise appears to have return. On 01/06/15 I took the car back to the dealership for the same noise. The dealership found no problem and wrote the following: TEST DROVE CAR WITH TECHNICIAN FOR 7 MILES OVER VARIOUS ROAD SURFACES AND OVER BUMPS COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NO PROBLEM FOUND. Problem still exist. The dealership indicated that they drove the car for over 7 miles and found no problem, however I had noted the mileage on the car and found that the car had only been driven under a mile. I filed a complaint sales manager at the dealership, which the service manager admitted that they did not drive the car only around the block. I preceded to file a compliant with Kia customer service and meet with the District Manger. It took about 2 weeks to confirm the meeting at the dealership. I finally met with DM who drove with me and agree there was a problem. It took over 2 more weeks to schedule a repair date. On 3/25/15, Once again I returned the car to the dealership and they found a problem. Stating the following: C/S noise coming from roof of vehicle near the roof. Please check and advise. Effective part # 81630R500. Found edge of sunroof plate bolts were over torqued causing rail to sit improperly in track adjusted to Kia specs and road tested with technician and Kia DSPN, adjusted sunroof plates, no noise present at this time.Once again the noise has come back and even worst, metal bouncing inside of sunroof. I stop by the dealership on 4/14 and talked to the service manger, which rode with me and agreed there was a noise. He preceded to advise me that he would contact the DM of Kia and call me when arrangement made. On 4/16/15 the service manager called stating still waiting on DM call back. On April 22, he contacted me stating which day early next week was good. On April 24th contact SM and advised him that on April 28th at 10 am would be fine to meet with the SM and DM. To my surprise, the DM was not present. I advised the SM to contact me when the DM would show up so that I was involved in the loop. However, that did not occur. On 4/29 the service manger advised me by phone that no problem was found. I have requested once again to meet with the DM and take the service manager and District Kia manager on a ride, so they understand the noise factor. I have requested to meet the DM through the Kia customer service and Service manger at the dealer, once again review the problem and take test drive with me present. Still waiting for a response as of 5/1/15. I am extremely unhappy with the noise of this cadenza, most passenger hear the noise. Now the dealer is sending messages that I need to return the loaner car, because KIA is not going to pay for the use of the loaner. So now they are threatening me with billing my credit car for a dealer loaner. I have not heard from KIa regarding this matter as of yet. Frankly I am beginning to dislike the fact that I purchased this cadenza, though I was extremely happy with my KIA AMANTI. CASE # **. One of the solutions has been to have the sunroof completely changed according to other kia cadenza owners who have experienced the same situation.

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

I bought a new 2012 Kia Sorento V6 a few months ago. The next morning at start up, the engine was very noisy. I found that when it sat for about an hour, the timing chain raps for about 5-10 seconds, very loud. I brought it back. They said they cant do anything, its normal. Well, thats just not true. No engine raps are normal. I contacted Kia company, went back and forth. Finally, I got a letter from them and they told me, too bad, feel free to sue us; we will not fix the engine.

My Venga 1.4 purchased in Nov 2014 has not to date reached more than 30 mpg approx. It has just over 4000 miles on the clock and I keep getting fobbed off. I have been told Its not run in. When asked how many miles do I need to do no proper answer given. Its down to my driving or the roads I use. Strange I use a roads or motorways I have had a license for 50 years and have driven most cars on the road includes HGVs. No one seems to give me a proper answer. I do not expect 42mpg as they state but I do expect at least 38mpg. I have keep a spreadsheet and mechanics that have seen it and customer service say that it is not a good mileage. But to date nothing has been corrected. KIA good car I do not think so. I had a Ford Focus 1100 and I used to get far more mpgs in that. My son has a Ford Mondeo estate top of the range 2 liter engine and gets 38mpg in that. So what has gone wrong? Recommend KIA. No thanks.

We have called and dealt with the car dealer about the front end thumping sound. We had to replace the tires at 22,000 miles and we had the car in the car dealer 10 times. With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

Please forward to any other KIA Executive Team member that should be informed. We just want to share with you an extremely disappointing Customer Experience and lack of Customer Care from one of your car dealers located in Delray Beach Florida. On Saturday, July 30th my wife and I dropped by your dealer in Delray. After discussing pricing and other related information, we proceeded to sign the necessary papers for your team to prepare the loan documentation and other documents necessary for us to come the next day to pick up a car that your team said was supposedly somewhere in Florida. After various phone calls during Monday, August 1st we agreed with your team to drop by the Dealer at around 7:00 PM ET, which we did. When we arrived, for our surprise your team shared with us that the car they were expecting to be delivered to their dealership for us (a 2016 Kia Sorento white LX) was involved in an accident. The car was being drove by someone instead of being delivered in a toll platform truck to avoid precisely these type of issues. Your management team should learn from this experience. In summary, we spent hours, expected a new KIA SUV be delivered to us today Monday August 1st. For our surprise nothing was delivered to us because after such a poor Customer Experience your team was not able to deliver as expected. We shared with the Manager what we expected because of the frustrating and disappointing customer experience, and that KIA management should review our situation and at a minimum propose to us a 2017 with the same financial numbers we already discussed. Your Manager understood our frustration, but was not able to compensate us for such a bad customer experience. He proposed us a 2017 but it represented around $4K dollars more than what was already discussed and agreed to (because that was all he was able to do at this level), which is NOT ACCEPTABLE to us, that was not what we originally agreed to. They ruined our weekend, our illusions and our expectations... Is this what KIA calls Customer Satisfaction? This transaction took place on the last day of the month for your Dealer. We do not want to think that they just wanted to book the sale and once the month was over they left us hanging with the problem. If you measure your Dealers based on executed sales, then this is a mute point, but if its based on sales book, then this is a problem. I just want to make sure I bring this issue to the attention of the KIA Management team, because this the worst Customer Experience I have suffered in my lifetime. KIA lost a potential customer for life. I will make sure that I share my experience with family members, work colleagues, and in social media as well. This should have never happened. A satisfactory customer resolution should have been found immediately to this situation.

Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this
Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this a day to be resolved then I will go to my lawyers which is scorpion and I will not give up. I refuse to pay a service. When I pay for the service if I wanted to pay I was not going to take the service plan. I know I have to pay for the brakes. I will not pay the service so let me explain myself for the 100th time. I took my car for the service as agreed with Kia east rand branch. On the 3rd I had a accident with my car. As per attached you can clearly see I picked it up on the 23rd of Dec knowing I never skip my service as you can see and Im never late either. I tried phoning Kia Kempton as thats where I always take my car. Disappointingly no one responds. I then phone your kia kempton sales to find out why is no one getting back to find out oh they closed. Fair enough.I go on your useless website where it clearly states book a service, leave your details, someone will get back to you. And to my surprise guess what? No one did. So sad. This I did in Dec knowing my car needs to go. I desperately try and get hold of someone. No one phones me back. I phone your branch east rand either the 28 or 29 Dec. I get the following words: Sorry we are full but we can help you the 3rd. Knowingly this is not going to work as its due now they assure me its no problem at all. So I believed your people again. Im doing it as per how Im suppose to keep in mind as attached my car went in. So I could not do it as I usually do early and if you bothered phoning your customers back this wont happen. So I get a nice phone call today. I need to pay for a service. Now look the lady there well done but for the rest useless. So Im giving this one day to be resolved so I can take my car at the cost of you all not me as I pay for the service plan and I was not at fault as you can see. So one day and then Im taking this further. I will not leave this. I will pay for my brakes. Not the service. My number to get hold of me; **. I expect a call in the next hour. As to how this will be resolved this car is not second hand its not ten years old and its sure as ** has never missed a service and kia kempton didnt say nothing at all. So blame your staff not me. I pay you still and whats sad its 200000 not a 5000 second hand car. This is disgusting to think I wanted to buy another kia when this is the treatment you get when you not at fault between kia and liquid capital? My car will be serviced at your cost. Decide how so I can take it as Im running the km up by having it again your fault. One hour and Im sending it to my lawyer.

I was looking for a car with great gas mileage, comfortable in seating 5 people, and would last for many years. I bought the 2009 Kia Spectra LE and had some reservations as I had always owned either a Ford or Chevrolet all of the years I had driven but the salesman indicated that the nitrogen tires increased the gas mileage. After owning it for 2 years I developed an air leak and kept taking it to the dealership to get nitrogen in the tire until they could get me in for service on the tire. I finally just started using air and found absolutely no difference in my gas mileage so I have since replaced all 4 tires with regular air tires.

I have to do work on my car from time to time. The last car was not safe for my little one to ride in, so I went and bought a brand new car. I thought that buying a NEW car, I would not be getting someone Elses problem! In December, my car started needing a jump, then it ran good for a while and then I heard a clicking that sounded like it was coming from the battery area. It has started blowing out air when the air is turned off. The clicking and blowing air seems to come together. Now I hear this while driving. I am rethinking buying the NEW KIA Rio for the safety of my child. Dont worry now there is a popping noise coming from the wheel area? If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, please help! Im the first owner but KIA says they are not sure what it is and Ill have to pay. HELP, please from a loving mother to another loving parent, grandparent, or anyone kind enough to help. People are buying these cars for their family, wife, or kids and it looks like they may not be safe for anyone. I think it is safe to say no KIA I have ever seen gets the gas mileage they claim. I paid off my car but do not plan to buy another KIA no matter what! Please stop buying or try to stop them from selling before they kill people with these unsafe cars!!!!!!!

I traded in 2012 Kia Soul for a 2015 Kia Soul Plus. I got the car in June and I have been listening to the 3 month free promotion of Sirius Radio. I did not even notice that my new Kia has no CD player, until the other day when I went to put in a CD. I was completely shocked. My 2012 Kia did have it and I thought that the CD player was standard. I was not told when I leased this new 2015 Kia that there was no CD player. I feel that the salesman should have pointed that out to me. I am extremely disappointed and now I am looking through stores to see if I can buy a portable one to put in my car. I understand that changes are sometimes made, but a change like this should have been brought to my attention when I leased this car. This is a feature, for me, that is very important.

We bought our Kia used, (we werent told it was used at the time we bought it, we noticed it was used after we had bought it and got in it - as we didnt test drive this particular one). In any event, the warranty covered the electrical parts up to 12,000. At about 11,000 miles, I was driving down the highway and was told that break lights werent working. We had head light issues and just thought it was a the bulbs, but both break lights went out, then pulled into the parking deck and notice no running light and no head lights except for brakes. We had to get towed back to the dealership and they replaced all the bulbs saying they were burned out. By the time the lights went out again, it was out of warranty. Every month or so, a bulb will go out - a head light, a break light. Then we noticed when you hit the back of the break light, the lights will flicker on and off, so the bulbs werent actually burned out. Then we began to notice the electrical seats were burned out. And then the lights where the manual transmission gear stick was burned out. Then the license plate lights. And now, for the first time a new electrical issue surfaced in the electric side mirrors, they will no longer work. We noticed many burn marks within the electrical components. We are certain KIA was aware of the electrical issue when we brought the car in under its warranty period, but they refused to address and simply replaced the bulbs and said sometimes things like this happen. We have been stopped by police for headlights being out, brake lights not working and license plate light out. While I love my KIA Sorento and mechanically it has been a reliable vehicle, the electrical issues have been dismal, costly, and unsafe.

In March of 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Rio. Not long after having it, the radio would not read CDs. I had it in the dealer service department several times, and I would still have the same problem. The dealer finally decided to replace the radio with a re-manufactured one. The refurbished one that was put in was even worse than the original one. It would freeze up, go out, and do things without me touching it. Also, I would lose control of it, and it would even stay on after the car was shut off, key taken out of ignition, and car locked. I took it to another dealer to have them look at it. And after a long period of time of having problems with it, it was replaced again with yet another refurbished one. It worked okay for a while, and now all of a sudden, when turned on, there is no sound. There is no sound whatsoever when I run the volume knob up and down. I am fed up with Kia for their products and service! I will never buy another Kia! I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the BBB. They should buy this vehicle back after countless sorry attempts to fix the problem and Im still having trouble out of it!

Misdiagnosing: I initially went to Gwinnett Place Kia, which is now Rick Case Kia in Duluth, GA because my vehicle was and still is losing coolant. Napa auto repair shop did an engine block pressure check and told me I was losing coolant somewhere in my engine. I was also given a technical bulletin report for my vehicle indicating an engine block defect that can be causing the coolant loss. I went with this info in hand and my complaints were ignored. I was told that the pressure check didnt indicate coolant loss, but yet I am still losing coolant to this day. I had a new radiator installed maybe 2 years ago. I recently had my thermostat replaced. My vehicle has never overheated. Yesterday I took my Kia back to the dealership and is now being told that my 2-year old radiator is clogged and was charged $55 for another incorrect diagnose. The technician was trying to tell me I was filling my radiator with plain water, never happened. I know better to only fill it with coolant. I took my vehicle in due to codes P0303 and the coolant issue. My code P0303, which is a misfire on cylinder #3, was never resolved. I was told that my spark plugs and wires need to be replaced. I had new plug and wires with coil packs replaced. This didnt resolve the problem. I was then told that one of my fuel injector needs to be replaced to correct the issue. They replaced, that issue still exist. Then I was told that my engine needed to be replaced. They dismantled my engine so my warranty company can approve the engine replacement and they came out to find that my head gasket needed replacing. My repair was denied so I had to pay to have my engine put back together. Replacing the gaskets didnt solve my issues. Kia had done unnecessary repairs on my vehicle and the issues of loss coolant and #3 misfire has never been fixed.

Bought a 2016 Kia Sorento 10/2017. Was traveling for work related activity in FL. Engine seized. Had to be towed to nearest KIA in SE Alabama. Car has been down since 12/18/2018. KIA states will replace motor. But they dont seem to understand that when an original motor is pulled from a vehicle and the mileage on the chassis and body differs, the title becomes what is known to the States and lenders as a Salvaged title. You lose if any but all trade in value. Also articulating the circumstance to a future buyer can be complicating in itself. I will state for the record that this is my third KIA. First was a 14 Soul, 16 Optima I bought brand new left the lot with only 17 miles on the motor, at 40, was told the engine has a recall and would fail due to improper oil delivery system, so I trade up to the 16 Sorento, and well well, here we are at 22,miles and what do we have once again. A LEMON. KIA is ripping off American Consumers and should be banned from conducting business in the USA. They need to pack up and go back to Seoul. This is part of what is wrong with our economy. And the personal debt ceilings rise and rise, due to inadequate products, as soon as one car is paid for it breaks and time to repurchase again. We need to get back to the basics and make cars like they use to. I’ve got a 96 Chevy that runs as if it was just driven off the lot. Wake UP America.

I bought a Kia off the showroom floor. I drove it with no problem for about 8 months, then I took it over for a check up. Everything came back great, then it broke down. I utilized the road side assistance, and had it towed to the Clarsburgs Kia. It took them about a week to fix it . The eco had a glitch, and burnt up my fuel pump. I got it back, and put gas in it, and the check engine light came on, and there was a strong smell of gas. I called Kia, and they said bring it over. They checked it, and determined it was only the gas cap that was loose. They said they fixed it. 4 days later, I put gas in it, and the same thing happened. I took it back, and they now have my Kia again. This time, they gave me a loaner Kia, but Im tired of spending my days off in the Kia dealership, getting my 2011 showroom Kia fixed, week after week.

The speedometer on my 2005 Kia Spectra sometimes doesnt read my speed correctly. The first time the incident occurred, it was almost 2 years ago. I only had the car for a day. While at the red light, the speedometer said I was driving 60 mph. When I started moving, it went up to 120 mph. The following day, I took the car back to the dealer, they checked it and explained to me that they couldnt find anything wrong with the speedometer. A week ago, today, I got a speeding ticket for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. After getting the ticket, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the speedometer at 50 mph. I noticed immediately that the speedometer was acting up again. I stopped the car to confirm. After coming to a complete stop, the speedometer was still reading 40 mph and then the hand started slowly moving downwards. The following morning, I took the car in to my nearest Kia dealer where they checked it, said they ran a test and placed it on their computers but couldnt find anything wrong or any error codes so theres nothing they could do. Now I have to go to court, pay a speeding ticket, get points on my license all for something thats not my fault and something I cant fix nor the dealer can fix. So Im going to need Kia to fix this!

She did the very least to so called solve my issue, then went as far as to say, What did I want KIA to do?. Ummm yes I know it’s a pandemic but seriously 5 months for parts. Terrible. At least care for your customers situation caused by a lack there of parts. O and then waited for a supervisor to call back next day and he expressed even more lack of customer service skills and showed he did not care at all. Had I known KIA could not provide parts for their cars, also had customer service as HORRIBLE as this, KIA would not have me as a customer at all! RUN far away!! KIA please train your staff that customer service goes a long way for paying valued customers.

It is the most comfortable and easiest to maintain and handle. The body and interior are well crafted and even after almost 6 years of use are still in almost pristine condition. The paint still looks brand new and the leather interiors seams and carpeting are still in great condition. As soon the a case manager got my case, she completely back peddled and told me not only do I have to tow it, I have to pay for the diagnostics as well and probably to fix it too since its passed the warranty.I cant find a recall on the crank shaft pulley but I heard there was a voluntary recall. As a Kia owner and supporter of the rejuvenated products and brands, I had to tell you about my experiences that are still on-going with the dealer and service franchisees/network that Kia seem to be straddled with.On July 13, I brought my car in to City World Kia in the Bronx, which, in and of itself, was a nightmare. You see, the greater New York Metro area has very few dealers to choose from and those that are members of your network are very suspect at best and downright dishonest and awful in reality.Having called Jason at customer service (Kia USA), it was clear he could only be limited in his effectiveness as he constantly and repeatedly told me that the dealers were independent and that Kia USA could not directly get involved to help the service process along. This was seven days into leaving my car there without even a call or return about my inquiries. That was very frustrating since it is in Kias best interest to make sure that their dealer and service network are not only trained well, but also provide the best service that they can as competition, as you know, is fierce.Unfortunately, Jason (of Kia USA Customer Service) didnt follow-up after I asked him if I could pass along my frustrations to the district manager (who he said was not available to the public) and we ended the call with him giving me an ID # 28-2003701. No call or any updates as he was ignored by City World KIA as well. All he could say was, sorry Mr. ** and Ill do what I can, which is nothing. I also talked to Kathryn ** at the corporate office and Crystal **, who closed my case after she did nothing to get my car fixed. This, in and of itself, was the most insulting since she ignored four phone calls that I made. When I called Justina, another service representative, just to speak to someone on August 17, she, at least, called me back twice to tell me she had to send the case to the executive level because it was closed by Crystal (after Jason gave it to executive, he didnt and couldnt do anything). Amazed, shocked and insulted -- my car still wasnt fixed. So why should I get frustrated if my Borrego was lost at City World for a week? Why should I be upset that Kia USA did absolutely nothing to move my car along after I took it out of City World Kia and after they finally found it (yes, they lost it)? Why then should I be insulted and feel demeaned after Lash Kia couldnt provide a loaner car because I waited a month to have them get some parts in to do the work? It has been three days and I am still waiting for Lash Kia to finish their work on the Borrego. And when I talked to David, the service associate who I originally spoke with about my horrifying experience with City World KIA, he was upset and was correcting me that I have to wait to get the additional parts in. Do they think at Kia that their customers dont need their cars? Do they treat all of their customers like this? So, I found myself waiting with no car despite giving Lash Kia a month to get the recall parts and do the work they needed to do. Afterwards, they told me that the car and the issues Ive raised (and youll love this) are operating within manufacturers parameters. I was told that the 4WD hang up sometimes when it is engaged and does the same thing when you want to disengage it. What? Are they kidding? So, after over a month of waiting and fixing the delaminated rotors myself for safety reasons, I am treated like an imbecile. Kia USA ignored me despite my sending emails to six of their executives and being promised a promotion for my troubles. Wow! I wonder if the head office in South Korea is aware of the poor level of service and treatment of their customers in North America. Each time, I had to call the service department and they were upset with me whenever I inquired as to the status of the car. With City World, I called after four days and I was not able to speak with Nick, a service technician who was supposedly fired, until the end of that first week. Moreover, the claim by Carlos, the service manager, was that they were busy and I had nine items to check. But then again, I found out that the special technician was out of town until the end of the week. The same thing happened at Lash when a seemingly competent Tania ** went on vacation while my car was with them. Only after I called three times did I get David to call me back to tell me they were waiting for another part despite me trying to avoid leaving my car at another dealership for three more days without any notice or update. On the basis that the service options for Kia automobiles are so restricted in this area to ramshackle chop shops, their on-line service appointment system was a complete waste as the request and ensuing specifics about why I was bringing the car in was not even received by City World. Its something of a phishing feature and, yes, this is something that Kia should be concerned about. How can Kia USA ignore an area with 16 million people? Had I been working for Kia, I would make every effort to get new licensees with state-of-the-art service centers, show rooms, and sales and service people that can, at least, spell! Ive owned Hondas, Acuras, Mercedes-Benz, Mazdas and BMWs over the years and not once have I been so blown away by the complete incompetence, indifference, filth, poor service, etc. by the Kia brand. My bottom line is that Kia needs desperately to upgrade all of the areas I mentioned and Id be happy to stay with them because I am thrilled by the renaissance over the years from the disastrous Hyundai Pony of the 80s to the thrilling designs and engineering of the line-up today. Unfortunately, the dealer and service network is so wanting and deficient that Kia will lose sales on that basis alone which is truly a shame! As for my poor car, I brought it in for the following reasons: Service Campaign CS005 (rear seat carpet replacements), defective windshield washer motor, defective hatch-rear light, wheezing and clunky CD player, popping and knocking sound under the passenger seat, slow-shifting transmission, 4WD that gets stuck in low (requiring a reboot by shutting off the car and rolling it), front brakes that have either got warped or delaminating rotors causing serious vibration, a possible leak in the fluid, and poor suspension which causes the vehicle to hop and jump over road seems and bumps. I understand that it is a truck-tuned suspension, but it is unsafe to corner with the Borrego because of the serious steering issues when hitting any bumps at all. I neglected to tell them about the inside weather seals that are dropping off and that need to be reset on all four doors, but hey, I just wanted them to deal with the safety issues. Oh, and I asked about how to clean the cloth seats and all I got was a comment to use regular upholstery cleaner. Gee, thanks, considering that they are staining so easily, that my daughters damp swimsuits left water stains on all of the seats in the back. Great quality! Considering the service so far (or total lack thereof), I dont expect anything and absolutely will never buy a Kia or recommend one again. In fact, what Kia has done (especially Kia USAs total lack of interest in assisting me with their independent dealer network and their promises that were left unfilled) is that instead of bringing a customer back in the fold, they have created an absolutely incensed customer who will use every opportunity to enlighten anyone about the dealer network and the corporate reality of Kia USA as a paper kitten when dealing with their dealers and their customers. As it is, I had to drive some 12 miles from my home to get bounced from the dealership to the service area because I couldnt bring myself to go to the Yonkers location. No communication from Jason or anyone as they close the files regardless if the case was resolved or not. The reason that major corporations run into significant problems is that their field experts do not have the ability to end licensees relationships, or just decide not to, simply because they are selling cars. Imagine how many more they would sell if they did not have dealerships like City World Auto, Yonkers Kia, the fraudsters at Major World and Nemet (who tried to bait and switch me, posting cars they didnt have on-line), and Smithtown Kia.Right now, I am sitting, waiting and expecting for a call. I would likely get some huge bill with nothing covered under the warranty despite the car having only 32,000 miles on it. I shudder to think how much more effort Ill have to make to get my car back without any damage being done to it. Can Kia USA help? No. Hopefully, this letter will shake up the district managers and their managers. Kia might sell even more cars and create happy, grateful repeat customers! I, unfortunately, will never be one of them.

I bought a new 2011 Kia Sorento. I have always had a problem with the acceleration. It does not happen all the time, but now it is more frequent. I have tried to cross the highway, and when I accelerate, it is as if the car has gone dead. It will not accelerate. It will eventually get gas, and move. This is very scary, since I never know when it is going to happen. I only have 20,000 miles on it. I really wish I had not purchased a Kia. Kia mechanics cannot find the problem. I have changed type of gas, with no help. I feel like I am driving a car waiting for an accident to happen!

If you get a traffic violation from and camera- beware. KIA will get the notice and will hold it for weeks, then will pay it for you with all the added penalties and then charge. I had several violations because of a bad transponder. If KIA would have just sent me the notice I could have easily taken care of it for $2 or $4. Instead they withheld the notices, paid it after 6 weeks of when it was issued, sent me the bill to pay them and threatened my immaculate credit when I objected. Filed a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which was a waste of time. Will never deal with KIA in any capacity ever again. Even the owner of the dealership said they were jerks to deal with!

Unfortunately I have had an extremely bad experience with Kia cars. Ive bought 2 new Kia cars recently (64 and 67 plates) and have had nothing but trouble. The car I have at present (Picanto) had its 30,000 mile service last week only to find out that the tyre pressure settings had been set either by the main dealers technicians or at manufacture by Kia at a dangerously low level meaning no warning signal in the inbuilt computer alighted to tell me it was being driven underinflated. The upshot of this is that both front tyres are at a dangerous level and both Kia and the main dealers, JCB Ebbsfleet, will not take responsibility for their error. I completed a complaints form with both Kia and the main dealer at JCB Ebbsfleet and after 8 days I was still not contacted in any way. I followed up today and was told its not their problem and they have no interest in it.They have left me with a car which is a potential death trap and have no interest in putting their errors right. BEWARE!!!! They sell you are car but after that youre on your own, after sales care is nonexistent, their complaints procedure is an absolute joke. Needless to say I will never buy another Kia and certainly not through JCB Ebbsfleet Kia dealership who have really been shown up to be very poor and extremely unprofessional.

My wife and I always bought Honda or Toyota vehicles but this time we decided to step out and give Kia a try. We spent time reviewing Kia Souls online and with people we knew owned them. And then we took the plunge and bought two. From the very first week we had problems. My wife could not get hers to start. We took it in three times and the manager over Kia side said You have to apply the break in Kias to start the vehicle. But I showed him in mine that it started just fine without applying the brake. Both Souls did not run right. They ran ragged and slow. It seemed to me that the direct fuel injected motor was not sync with the transmission. Our headlights would come on for no reason. My tire light would kick on but no tires were low and it would go off. The dash lights would dim in and out for no reason. The rain would leak in from poor sealant around windows. My brakes would lock with massive pressure for no reason. Each time we would go to dealer that would claim it was normal or could not duplicate the problem. After one month we were done! We traded them both in on two Toyotas. We had to go to 72 months to cover the loss on both Kias. Listen to me please!!! Listen!!! Look!!! Hear me!!! Kias are still junk! Do not buy one! The warranty is a sham to suck you in and make you into a sucker!!! This company should be forced out of business! They spend money on trying to improve their image but not on true research and quality!!! They make the outside and inside of their vehicles very appealing but the engine and components and electronics are still very bad!!! Please listen!!! Dont do it!!! I know you are reading this right now because you are diligent! Listen to me buyer! Dont buy a Kia!!!

Returning home from Military School my Kia Niro broke down. Waited 5 hours in 6 degree weather to get my car towed on a Sunday. Closest Kia Dealer closed and no car rentals close. They offered no option. I Ubered to the airport. Got a rental to finish the remaining 7 hours of a 13 hour trip. Exhausted. Hungry. Once home began the work of what’s wrong with my car, getting the rental paid and how do I get it back. It took TWO MONTHS to get my car back. The diagnosis? Manufacturer error and no specific reasoning why my car suffered a break down no one could figure out until a technician was finally sent out to take a look. Couldn’t figure it out so just did a ‘hard reset’ and then it was fixed. No idea what the problem was though AND THEN it had physical body damage and before I drove it off the lot, called Mr. Charles ** (case representative) to figure out how to rectify this. Said there’s nothing he can do. His job is to reunite me with the car not the quality of service done on the vehicle. I am abhorred with how I’ve been treated every step of the way. The reliability of KIA CONSUMER OVERALL is not even worth 1 star. My car is not reliable and neither is Kia’s customer service. Save yourself the two months of heartache I just went through and hundreds of dollars out of pocket I won’t be reimbursed.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Got this car for my daughter who’s paid this note since 2015- car almost paid off only owes $2900. Contacted them in December 2020 for a two month extension being my daughter lost her job due to COVID. January told by Kia rep that everything was good to go- no payment due till February. Today she’s notified her payment is over 30 days past due. When my daughter called Kia the reps said there was a glitch and refused to put a supervisor on. So I called and I was told the extension didn’t go through because the system tapped out (whatever that means)! Meanwhile not one person corrected this so called tapped out error on their part or contacted either one of us to let us know anything new needs done! This doesn’t make any sense what’s so ever! So then they said the $675 that’s now past due needs paid so my daughter paid it- I requested a supervisor or manager and then was told they don’t have one In the building! Again- WHAT! I have never heard of such insanity!I tried to see how to file a corporate complaint but of course that’s no use because when I tried to ask I’m told to log onto KIA- I log onto KIA and now the account is locked! So now all though my account going past 30 days isn’t anyone’s fault but Kia’s they will probably have the audacity to send this to my credit bureaus against me when it’s clearly their own error! Just awful! I will NEVER get another Kia vehicle again in my life and neither will my daughter- damn sure won’t ever Finance anything through them again! None of them know what they are doing and I suppose it’s because as stated by the rep no supervisor or manager is ever present in the building!

I purchased a Kia Rio 2011 in August 2012 from Courtesy Ford of Rome. The hubcaps was making a flapping noise when the weather changes. Water leaking in the backseat when it rains, and water leaking in the trunk starting on November 4. Went back and forth to Terry Reid, 25 miles away from Rome. I took it four to five times to see them before it was fixed in February of 2013. The airbag light came on. I had to go to Terry Reid for them to check it. The part was ordered and fixed a month later. Two weeks ago the engine light came on and the car started to put along. Now the car powers down like it is cutting off. I feel like I got a lemon and I plan on sending it back to the people who financed it. Im not paying $352 a month for a car that is not reliable and a waste of my hardworking money. I shouldnt be having all these problems with this car. I havent had it for one year yet and everything started three months after I got it.

I received my 2011 Sorento today, after it being at the dealership for nearly three months. It underwent catastrophic engine failure due to a faulty camshaft causing the engine to seize. We are the second owner and the car was 2000 miles over the used car warranty of 60000 miles - the issues we had were exactly the same as what was noted in a class action suit for earlier models. The dealership was fair, providing us with a loaner car after a month of the car being there (we only have one vehicle). Corporate however was astonishing in its lack of professionalism and dishonesty. Corporate insisted that we have a diagnostic done and that I would not be responsible for it if it showed that we were not at fault, we were not and they did not cover it. They told us and a dealership employee that they would cover half of the engine and labor. They did not and then denied the statement and refused to pull phone tapes that would prove it. I also left over 40 messages for the manager without a single call back. Even the dealership employee said they were notorious for this kind of behavior. Im disappointed and frustrated and urge anyone dealing with corporate to tape their calls as well. Thank you.

I just bought a 2012 Kia Sorento in February. It started giving me problems. It stopped all of a sudden when I stopped in a stop sign and the engine was shut off. Two days ago, I was about to drive to work and when I went to the garage and sat in the van, it started but the gear wouldnt move as it was locked. I called the dealer and they told me to call the tow truck and get it towed to the dealership. They towed the van to the dealer, and the next day the guy from the service department called. This dealer is located in Avalon Blvd in Carson. He told me that both the engine and the computer are full of water like a swimming pool. How? I just took the car to the drive-through car wash a few times since I bought it. They told me that the warranty does not cover and I have to pay $1600 to get it fixed. When we first bought the car they lied to us that anything doesnt matter - big or small issues, the warranty is going to cover - and now they dont want to cover. I will never ever recommend anyone to Kia Carson or any other Kia dealer. It’s a bad experience that I have ever had.

It has sudden acceleration requiring neutral to avoid an accident. It sometimes refuses to accelerate. It eats batteries and now it has severe handling issues. I have owned cars with 174K miles that ran better than this lemon. It is parked till paid off when I will sell it for scrap. At 13,300 miles, the manual clutch went out in a 2010 KIA SOUL. KIA wont honor its warranty as the clutch is a wear and tear item. I cant imagine any clutch burning out at 13k. My last manual clutch (Jeep) had the factory clutch in it when I traded it in at 89,000 miles with no problems. When I checked online, I found out many people had clutch problems. Many with even less mileage than mine. I also found out that KIA had replaced several of the clutch parts in the following years models. Apparently, they have realized they have a problem with their clutch. But it still cost me $12,000 to fix it.

2010 Kia Optima service - I have taken my car on three different occasions for the front driver side wheel. I hit a curve and was trying to make sure that the rim and/or the tire was not bad. Each time I have taken it, they said they could not find anything wrong with the tire or the rim. But the tires have been rotated and now the rim is back on the front and my steering wheel is shaking badly. I took it back today and stayed there from 8AM to 1PM, to be told that I need to get a wheel alignment, tire balance and rotation, but it would be another 2 hours. I told them that I have been there all day and I have to go. This is not right. How many times do I have to take my car to get it serviced? The end result? No service.

Took my car to Kia East Syracuse for warranty service. Was told car needed to be kept overnight while they waited for a part. Was called next day. Salesman stated following: “Hi Rose, we just found out your part won’t be in until the first week in October, and your lease happens to end the first week in October. Why dont you come in and get a new lease vehicle. I stated I would not be purchasing a new vehicle. The service department is stating they dont have a loaner car for me, they want me to go almost three weeks without a vehicle. I contacted Kia Corporate and they state that they cant help, since the dealer is claiming they dont have a car they can offer as a loaner. They stated they could possibly rent me a car, but they need a manager to authorize and that takes 48 hours. Ive never heard of a car company doing warranty work on a car where the part takes 3 weeks to procure and will not offer a loaner car to drive. Not the happy Kia experience I see in their commercials. Won’t buy another Kia and neither will my family members unless they can make this right.

DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA - Kia Motors America IS AWFUL! I bought a car from Peak Kia in Colorado Springs, CO in July 2018 right after my husband returned from his deployment. It has since been in the shop since Jan 14, 2019. They have never fixed the initial issue of it not starting properly and have found various other items wrong with the car. I contacted Kia Corporate about a buyback (not lemon law) in February 2019 and they said they would process it and to send the paperwork. I did this in March 2019. Kia Corporate has escalated my case to upper management and the representative has called me two times since the case was assigned to him. He will not return phone calls or emails. The communication is not there and nothing is being done.Peak Kia has stated many times they do not know what is wrong with it; corporate refuses to do anything. I have been driving a small car since January when my vehicle is an SUV. We are still paying monthly payments on a car we havent driven since January. I have all items documented but both Peak Kia and Kia Corporate do not appear to care. I am sick of this and something needs to be done. Being called two times in 5 months by my case manager from corporate is absolutely ridiculous. If the vehicle cannot be fixed in 5 months, it clearly cant be fixed. It needs to be bought back or they need to take it back for what I paid and supply me with a new vehicle, as well as all monthly payments, insurance and inconvenience fees. Kia Motors America is the worst company- buyers beware!

I first want to say I gave 1 star because it is required before submitting.
I first want to say I gave 1 star because it is required before submitting. I purchased my 2013 Kia Rio LX brand new at the end of 2013. I have had several problems. All four tires keep going flat. A squeaking noise every single time I drive it. The air conditioner not working correctly and has a foul smell when it is on. Recently, I went in for my 3000 mile oil change (so I could keep my warranty up-to-date) and I was informed of the following: the rotors, breaks and the housing for the breaks are rusted out. In addition, the tailpipe and the housing holding the tailpipe to the car rusted and the bolt holding on the timing chain and belt in the motor, yep RUSTED!This car was brand new when I purchased it at the end of 2013. When I contacted Kia and got a case number, they came back and said, this is normal wear. How can this be normal wear this car is about 3 years old. I would expect this from a car that was 6-10 years old. THIS is a public safety issue. IF any part of the brakes fall off while driving, this will cause an accident. IF the time belt/chain becomes unattached-this will cause an accident. If the tires leak too much air while driving or burst, this will cause an accident. In addition, there is a computer upgrade kit that should be installed in every car, however, since my car is NOT having issues that warrant the upgrade, then it is not available to me. My car does not have the light on or making the acceptable noises to get the upgrade. I have taken the car into the Kia Service Department, they state they can not pinpoint the slow leak issue with all 4 tires. They put air in them and cleared the sensor-but would not look into further or try to fix the issue. They did not fully inspect the air condition issue, because they did not have enough time. DID I MENTION THE CAR WAS THERE FOR 6 HOURS??? And the rust was normal wear. I do not care where you live in the US or Canada, a 3 year old car should not have rusted out like this car has. The 10 year/100K mile warranty is a scam! They have loopholes in every corner. I am disabled, have limited income and I got ripped off by Kia. I will NEVER EVER buy another Kia again!

I noticed about a year ago that my backseats were wet. I thought my child spilled water. However, they were really wet again about three weeks ago. Within the next couple of days the floorboards were soaked. It has rained a lot lately. Someone rarely sits back there so no telling how long this has been going on. I called the dealer and made an appointment on Friday for Monday morning. I was told I would need to pay an evaluation fee of $125.00. I have read that this is a problem with this car and other Fortes. They said it was the seal in the tail lights. Of course not covered by the warranty. They have replaced my tail lights in the past. How do I know that they did not cause this when they changed them. My car is so wet it fogs up and ice is on the windows in the mornings. They replaced the seals and sent me on my way ($230.00). I got home and noticed that the tire well (with no spare tire) was full of water. I cannot get this water out of my car. Also realized that my back windows will not roll down. I have done regular maintenance on this car at the dealer since I purchased it. You would have thought they would have noticed this when they do their inspections or when they changed the bulbs. I think they knew this was a problem with these cars. They should have done a recall or at least tell you they need to be replaced after a couple of years. Now my car is ruined and I will never get this mold out of my car. I purchased this car in April of 2013 (almost six years ago). While I was waiting for my car to get finished they had a salesman trying to get me to buy another car. He was trying to say that the sun caused the seals to go bad. Dont know what makes them think I would buy another Kia ever after this. I took it back to the dealer that night asking for suggestion on how to get all this dripping water out of my car. The back seats of rust stains now from the water. The trunk is growing mold under the carpet and on the well hole. They are suppose to call me back today. I have not heard a thing from them. They should have paid for this to be fixed. Had I brought it in the first time it would have been still under the warranty. I have been a loyal customer. I have replaced my tires twice there (which the first set went bad right after the warranty was out on them too). I have the weather mats in the car and in the trunk. I am in the trunk a lot. The mat was never wet. I had no reason to pull it up and look in and see that everything under it was wet and moldy. I did notice a mildew smell a few times in the car. A coworker asked me about a month ago if I had had any real problems with my car. If I had known about this I would have told him to stay away from Kia. I paid cash for this car and cannot afford to make payment on another one but if and when I can, IT WILL NOT BE A KIA. Shame on you Kia!!! I have seen several post about this problem on different websites. You know this is a problem and have done nothing about it.

I purchased a used 2008 Kia Rondo in Houston, Texas in May of 2009. It had around 38,000 miles on it but appeared to be in a very good shape. About a month ago, which was in October, 2011, the air conditioner started blowing only hot air. I brought in to West Side Kia in Katy, TX and was told that I needed a new air conditioning compressor and it would cost me $1,300 to fix it. My car is out of warranty because it has around 62,000 miles on it. The service advisor told me that I need to consider whether or not I want to put that kind of money into my Rondo or just trade it in for something new. My God, the car is only 3 years old! I was in shock.I asked the service advisor if this was what the quality the consumer should expect--only three years use of a Kia before having to trade it in? I asked him how a car so young would already need a new air conditioning compressor. What made matters worst was I was approached by two very pushy sales people, one of which, I told that if I had to buy another car, it certainly would not be a Kia. Ive had cars that have had over 150,000 miles on it with air conditioners that still worked like they did when the car was brand new. I was also informed that a Kia cannot use anything but Kia parts and because of this, the cost of a new compressor was triple what a regular one would cost me. It seems to me that there is something very wrong about this. I feel as if Ive been ripped off and I cannot afford to buy another car right now.

So in 2013 I get a brand new Kia Forte EX with 42 on the OD. I’m thinking it’s the stuff blue tooth, power windows, all the goodies including satellite radio. The guys at the dealership told me, after 6months trade it in, I love it so much I didn’t and now I’m stuck with it. Now it’s 2019, since 2015 I’ve been having to change out headlights, brake lights, tail lights, two batteries in 2019, and get this about 6 months ago I started smelling a burning smell, well turns out the backlight in back windshield the bulb to it had exploded and the wire had started to burn. That ain’t even the half of it, since 2016, the lights come on by themselves at night. I picked it up on my house camera I have outside. They just came on, and since 2014 acquiring signal regardless of it being satellite am or fm or a cd. And it don’t stop there, LOL. Omg I could cry and rip my hair out. The speakers go in and out and crackle. The door seals leak. When I turn my steering wheel or put on the turn signal radio acquires signal, cheap interiors that don’t withstand anything. The drivers seat gets hard after a few years too. The lights flicker when I drive sometimes, a big electrical problem... One that goes through the whole car and is a very expensive fix. Oh and wait my shift knob broke. It broke! How does that happen? Cheap paint, this is cheap, an overly cheap car for what they ask for them. When I use my AC, the brakes act like they don’t want to work. I put the car in park once and when I got ready to get out it started to roll back. And guess what the dealership has changed out fuses and harnesses and other stuff re the lights but somehow can’t reproduce the other stuff so I started making videos and keeping the ones from my security system. Even after an oil change I get nasty smells coming into the car. They even changed the filters. I pray my next car won’t be a Kia. And the gas mileage it’s horrible. Don’t fool yourselves.

Disappointed customer. I thought I was making a smart choice when I bought my used 2011 Kia Sorrento (Liberty Ford) boy was I wrong. The reason for the purchase I needed a reliable car as I drive 500 miles a week from home to work and with Kia having a 10 year 100k mile warranty and the car only having 70k miles on was to me at the time a no brainer. I had the car a little over a year and the engine went. I did purchase the extended warranty from Liberty but because it was a Kia they could not work on it and sent it to Bedford Kia for inspection. After numerous phone calls and even an in-person visit, they had my car for 52 days before it was fixed and returned to me. They put in a new/used engine that had at the time 65k miles on it so I thought once again I was in good shape, well I was wrong again. This engine lasted 11 months and 22k miles and because I was over the miles, I was told in not so many words - sucks to be you right now, you will have to foot this bill. I also want to note this engine quit on me as I was slowing down for an accident that was on the freeway. I was going about 60mph at the time, tapped the brakes to slow down and the engine quit. I had to limp the car from the high speed lane to the berm with no power, it was a very dangerous situation at the time. I am just trying to understand as a customer that had 2 bad engines where the accountability as a manufacturer is? I do understand warranties but all I was looking for was someone to say we understand and give me some kind of help. I wasn’t looking for Kia to pay the entire bill but 2 engine failures engines that only made it to around 80k that were not my fault some help would have been nice. All toll right now I have around $6.200 invested back in a car I only paid $7,400 for. As a single father of 6 working 2 jobs this was a bill I did not need. With all this being said I would like to thank my mechanic at Done-Rite Auto who treated me as a person first and a customer second by cutting his price on labor and parts and had the car fixed in 3 days as opposed to the 52 it took Kia to fix it.

After purchasing a second Kia Sorento, I recognized that there appeared to be a noise at approximately 50 mph, which was stated by the dealer that since my previous Kia was a 5-speed and this current Kia was an automatic, the power train variation could be the reason why the frequencies were different. The problem was, I never had this documented. This conversation took place while I was trying to get the air bag anomaly repaired, which was never repaired, even after three visits. After approximately 63,000 miles, the dealership now confirms that differential parts are failing, which is why I have been hearing the noise become louder as the miles increased. Kia has refused to honor the 10-year/100,000-mile warranty, claiming I did not have the differential fluids changed periodically. I have owned many vehicles to date, and never has a differential failure been an issue nor does an owner worry about differential fluids until 100,000 miles or so. This simply proves that Kia will find any means not to honor their warranty. The 10-year/100,000-mile warranty is typically a top reason why people purchase the Kia and they do not expect to have to spend another $500-$1,000 every 15,000 or so miles on top of their car payment, insurance, and fuel expense. They assume that after periodic oil changes and various periodic maintenance, such as air filter and perhaps transmission fluid changes, that the vehicles gearing and robust components will sustain the warranty period. If not, then that is why a warranty is available. For Kia, to simply claim they will not honor the warranty since there is no evidence that the differential fluids were not changed every 18,000 miles is an absolute insult and a clear depiction that the company never had the intention to honor their warranty. This is a serious safety concern since the differential can now lock up and potentially cause fatal injuries to family and friends. The differential locking up can be a serious issue. Do not purchase a Kia. Go find a clear American product if that is still available.

I parked our Kia just after the last oil change and service. We bought a new van, a 2007 Toyota Sienna. I never even thought of trading for a Kia. The Kia was driven off and on. My next service was listed in miles from the dealership. I had no idea that there was a month limit too. It was about two and a half years and we were going to get it registered to put back on the road for our daughter. It drove fine to the dealership except when I slowed the RPM to stop, then it would cut off. There were no knocks, clicks, smells except for a woodsy smell that they described as old gas. They cleaned the old gas out, did a tune-up, put in a new coil and did an oil change. They said it still wasnt right so they kept it over night. The next morning I called and they told me that the engine was shot. They said cylinder no. 6 was dead. I had it towed to AAA, a shop that we trust. They just did a compression test and analyses. They said it was cylinder no. 4. I talked to another Kia dealership and had it towed there. I gave them permission to check further. They pulled the head, used a scope and checked. I was told that a valve was bent on cylinder no. 4. I researched this and found at that bent valves are caused usually by a jumped timing belt. It was replaced at 54,000. Later, this service manager called the other dealerships service department and said that it was cylinder no. 4, not 6 and that the rocker arm was broken and laying in the cylinder. That is not what I was told.

Recently our daughter left the overhead and parking lights on overnight, draining the battery. Normally that would not have been a big deal. However, the car was parked in a carport and COULD NOT be moved out of it to get a jump start because the car could NOT be taken out of Park into Neutral!!! It took about a dozen calls to find a service station that had a portable jump system to come out and get the 2014 Kia Sorento started, causing my wife to miss a doctors appointment.

To understand this KIA dealership in Burton UK, I need to back up a bit. I saw a car on the internet and arranged to view it. On the agreed day I checked to make sure that he car was still available and they said yes. I set off by train from Coventry UK. I had to change at Birmingham UK to catch a train to Burton. At Birmingham I got a call to say that the car has been sold. This sets the background to my subsequent dealings with KIA in Burton. They apologized and promised to let me have first look at another car. (With hindsight, I should have declined.)I did look at another car, the salesman told me that the car had had only one previous owner who gave up the car because he had epilepsy. We negotiated and agreed on a price based on what I had seen of the car and what I was told. He told me that (1) the car will be checked over and serviced (2) I will have two year free service in 2015 and 2016. When I received my V5C form from DVLA, it had two previous owners. I sent a text on 17/11/14 to the salesman and he did not reply to my query that he told me the car had only one previous owner from October 63. He did not reply. One morning as I was driving along the road I found that my windscreen washer had frozen. The temperature was barely -1 deg Celsius. When it thawed, I noticed that instead of the normal windscreen solution, it was pure water. Alarm bells started ringing. I checked the Service book and it was not stamped. I then wondered why the boot light has never come on.I wrote with a list of complaints to the CEO of KIA including that the car had not been serviced. My complaint was passed on to the customer services department saying that the garage was only obliged to top up the windscreen washer (with water by implication) and not to introduce a solution that lowered the freezing temperature of the windscreen washer. I found that astonishing. On the question of previous owners, because I had no documentary or audio evidence to support what I claimed was the gist of the conversation, that was dismissed. Apparently the bulb in the boot and had burnt out from use... by whom I wondered? They asked me to return the service book so that they will stamp it. I refused. I asked whether the two year verbal agreement on servicing the car still holds. No reply. I am intending to send it for servicing and bill the garage and if they refuse to pay, Ill try the small claims court. I paid for the car based on the information given to me which they deny. What should I do? Can I ask for my money back or reach some form of compromise? I also tend to write to KIA in Korea to complain. I suggested to the customer services that the point that the service book was not stamped is evidence that it was not serviced. There was no counter argument. The scan of the service document carried out had no page number so it could have been written any time. What can/shall I do? Anyone have the address of KIA in Korea?

Traded in 2012 Kia for 2014 KIA at Jeff Belzers Lakeville MN. They brought the 2014 to my home. On January 22nd 2015, KIA had loud tick to the motor. Contacted Jeff Belzers the following day. They gave me no help said they would get back to me. I had to climb the ladder. Still no help on the issue. On February 9th I took it in to Bill Barth of Mandan. They contacted KIA, ran the tests that was necessary, the KIA only had 1000 miles on it, was a brand new 2014 Kia. Came back they found that the motor wasnt bored out and cleaned out right. So the motor has to be changed out and replaced. Been calling KIA affairs since January 13th 2015 now it is January 27th still the run around. Being passed through their agents having a car that Im paying for that I cant drive. It has been over a month so KIA customer affairs are no help. They arent doing the job for the customer.

I purchased a 2017 Kia Sedona from a Kia dealer in Queens, NY in 2017 with 50 miles. The car is perfect for my family of six as it is roomy and the LX model offered enough accommodations which made it easy to travel with five children. I was very happy with my vehicle and Kia until recently. I had an engine malfunction while driving on a highway with a relative and my children. It was New Years Eve 12/31/20, and I decided to take my sister and children shopping at a store that was about ten miles away. We live in the Suburbs which can get rural in some areas and in order to get to this one store, in particular, I had to take a highway to travel there. When I initially started the car I heard a rattling sound which I thought was due to the cold weather, however, as I drove off and drove further and approached the highway the car started to decelerate. After the car decelerated the car cut off while I was driving. In a panic, I started the car again and pulled over to the side. I had to repeat turning the car on, the car shutting off and decelerating, turning the car on, and drive ten miles to return back home. The very next day 1/1/2021 I had the car towed to the dealership that handled my lease buyout. The service manager was nice exhibited professionalism and willing to offer exceptional services to ensure that my car was repaired and that I understood the repair process. He informed of charges that would be incurred if the warranty was not covered by Kia. So everything at the dealer was done with professionalism and courtesy. The problem that I experienced with Kia was and is that they are not honoring the warranty. The Service Manager indicated that receipts were required to document oil changes performed on the 2017 Kia Sedona to ensure that maintenance was performed routinely. I provided receipts that were kept from service performed from Kia dealerships, however, was unable to produce enough receipts for Kia to honor the warranty. I contacted the Kia Customer Service which represents corporate, the customer services representatives I spoke with exhibited professionalism and advised me to try to get receipts of purchases of oil for any oil changes done outside of a service shop. However, I am unable to. So here I am one and a half months without a car, I am renting a car while paying my monthly finance bill, and I believe Kia will not honor my warranty because of lack of receipts of oil changes.I also find it ironic that I had the car serviced in November 2020 at a Kia dealership and they are not honoring the repairs. I hope that this issue is not an issue with the Sedona as I had around 65,000 miles on the car at the time the engine malfunctioned. I did check another website United States Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Administration where recently a consumer reported the same issue. I pray that this is not the beginning of an issue like Kia experienced with the Kia class engine failure class-action lawsuit in 2019. Although I love the Kia Sedona I probably will not purchase another Kia if the company does not offer reasonable solutions for this matter.

I am writing about not only the troubleshooting of my vehicles (2008 Kia Amante) problem but also the quality of the maintenance. I will explain the events and concerns I have on the service and maintenance I received that I think were too costly, caused me to break down, several trips to the dealership that cause me unnecessary delays, missed family functions and wasted time. I had problems with my cars having a rough start which was out of context for this vehicle. I have never had problems in the past and it started up immediately upon turning the ignition. I made the call that it was the battery and decide to take it to the nearest Kia dealership (Pat Peck Kia) because I was new to the area and wanted to establish a relationship.I made the appointment (0800-24 July 2013) and upon arrival discussed the problem with person at the desk. I told the service advisor that my concern was the battery and she told me it could not be that? I said okay and they took it back to troubleshoot. I sat for 3 hours before she came back to tell me that the mechanics best choice after evaluation was that the TPS Sensor was bad. I was hesitant to accept this because I had no fuel/engine problems whatsoever but that it was hesitant to start. Again, I said I thought it was the battery going out. She informed me that they would order the part (cost: $362) and that I could wait for it. After another 1 hour she came back to tell me that they had to order the part and that they would call me when it came in. They said the work would take 1 hour.I received a call that the part came in and made the appointment to get the work done on 30 July @ 7:45 figuring the earlier the better. This time I had to wait for almost 5 hours. She came to tell me that the delay was due to the fact that the battery needs to be recharged. I asked if they should just change the battery and she said no they charged it up. Sorry but at this point I am VERY unhappy and dont really have the warm fuzzy that my car is fixed. I pay the bill, accept my car. The cost was $519 and the service advisor acted like I was getting a deal. I did not feel that way.The next day (31 July), I get in the car and it is doing the exact same thing. I am thinking that I just spent $519 and nothing has changed. I am scheduled at this time to go to a family luncheon and I did not feel safe that my car will get me there and back. At this point I am away from home, the car is off and when I try it will not start. Dead! I call the dealership and they said to have it towed. I elect to try to call my wife to come help me. I get the car started and take it to the dealership. They say that they will change the battery and that cost me another $50.42. I told them that I had a battery problem from the beginning. Now it brings into question the TPS sensor failure. I have been VERY pleased with my Kia Amante and would not trade it. I am very unhappy with the events that took place, the troubleshooting, repairs, cost and lost time.

KIA in Mentor, Ohio advertised: Drive home a used vehicle for $199. Not $199 a month or $199 down. For $199. The ad goes on to say how much they have marked down their KIAs. Well, when I went in twice, after I heard the ad, a month apart, for the $199 cars, the salesman looked at me like Im crazy. I told him what his ad said. He said, Well, we have 2 maybe. One needs a motor; the other, a tranny. Each time I went there, I was told the same thing. He didnt say Oh, I had 10, and we sold them. He looked at me with a smirk on his face. This is false and misleading advertising! I have again heard this ad 2 weeks ago.

No engine light, no oil light just pop... done! And as I read on and on, I see this is a very common issue. Dealerships are refusing to admit Kia has an issue with this and manufacturer refusing to pay under warranty. This is a class action lawsuit if I ever saw one! I am copying all of these complaints and if someone has already started one let me know. If not, Im on my way to do so. Enough is enough, email me with your story and we will need evidence so make sure you have all paperwork.

I have owned 2 Kia Souls in the past 4 years. The first car had some paint problems in that a lot of chipping was going on and not only around the wheels. There was paint chipping on the sides and at the top of the roof. We dont live on a gravel road nor do we drive on any gravel roads, when I took the car in for this, keeping in mind that this is the 2010 model with 83000 km. The dealership took some pictures and sent them in to Kia for the ok to go ahead and fix the problem. Kia gave them the go ahead and we got our car repainted. The new paint on the car was considerably better, in fact we had no real chipping and as the body guy said it was because there was actually some paint on the car.We traded this car in for a 2012 Kia Soul and now are facing the same problem. The difference is that I actually installed mud flaps on this car when I got it home and it is worse than the first car, in fact at the back wheel there is no paint at all and the car has surface rust developing on about a 4 area. Showing this to the dealer, they went through the same procedure of taking pictures and submitting them to Kia, this time the verdict was different. They are not going to cover the paint work. They are not going to paint the car. I have called Kia Customer service and awaiting a call back.

I was driving into town to get gas before heading to work. I ran out of gas, called my roadside assistance, had them come give me fuel, tried starting it, and the roadside assistance person thought the battery was dead, and put a charger on it, and it still wouldnt start, and was recommended to have it towed, which I did. I called my mechanic at noon, to find out it had no oil, and the engine was seized. When I went to the shop there were no codes that pulled and I had no lights on the dash, no oil light, no check engine, etc. The mechanic actually had to show me where the oil light was, as it is right next to the low fuel light - I would have noticed it. Ive spoken to Kia who says there have been no issues with the 2012 Kia Sorento, but I beg to differ. I believe the sensor or fuse for the oil light had to have been malfunctioning, which led to my vehicle running out of oil, unlike Kia who suggested it was due to negligent maintenance on my part.

Engine recall with a 3 - 5 month wait according to Fucillo Kia. My first issue with my 2017 Kia Sorento was on 9/18/18 when my A/C stopped working and the engine overheated. I brought the vehicle to my dealer. I was informed the head gasket needed to be replaced. It was fine for four months until 1/18/19 when the heater stopped working. I took it to my dealer and then they determined that I needed a new engine. I later found out by the technicians at my dealership that they had 40 vehicles of different models needed new engines. They told me that Hyundai is having the same problems. They had no loaner cars for me so I was drivien to a Hertz rental up the road by a dealer rep. The dealer said the policy of Kia motors allowed to drive the smallest car Hertz had on their lot. It was a Nissan Accent which is smallest car Nissan makes. So basically I’m paying $395 a month for an All Wheel Drive SUV and I get a vehicle that isn’t even close something comparable to what I’m leasing. I’m also in the last year of the lease and I won’t have my car for 3 - 5 months. The dealer won’t let me out of the lease but I have to keep paying for it! I was towed out of my own driveway with only 2 inches of snow on the ground. I’ve filed a consumer Fraud case with the NYS Attorney General’s Office. Nobody at the dealer will help me and the Consumer Affairs Dept at Kia Motors will help either. I’m so disgusted and frustrated. I will never recommend a Kia or Hyundai again.

I purchased my 2014 Kia Sorento after it was a leased vehicle for two years. I was thrilled at the beginning until halfway through year 2 of owning it ALL of my paint started peeling off of the roof and the sides of the windshield. After fighting Kia for months and them denying that anything with their paint is faulty and taking it to numerous repair shops I got it painted for the low low price of $1,000. I then had the OTHER side of my windshield start peeling less than 2 weeks after I got the driver side painted resulting in me having to fight with Kia again. I have been fighting this battle since June of 2018 and am still waiting for my reimbursement check from consumer affairs for the first round of repainting. They apparently keep forgetting to hit their magical process button for my check as that is the excuse Ive now received 3 times from them. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THEIR CARS. The paint is not properly applied and is not thick enough and will start peeling just before year 4 of owning the car. Kia will tell you they only insure their paint job for 3 years and that you are out of luck. This product is faulty and they are not willing to do anything except turn you away and not acknowledge the problem. Terrible company.

I have been driving a 2009 Kia Spectra for about two years now. The carpet gets wet every time it rains & there are puddles under the doors. I also noticed a sloshing sound when I drive coming from under the car. I took it to Castruccis Kia dealership in Miamisburg Ohio to have the leak checked out. They said they tried to get water into the car by putting it in the car wash but it did not leak. They replaced the seals anyway but they obviously replaced the wrong ones because water is still getting into the car soaking the carpet causing mold to grow. I also noticed that the car is lunging forward and racing when I come to a stop sometimes. Castruccis refuses to fix the problem with my car & will not return my calls. Does anyone else have problems like this with their Kia? I did see on another website that a few others were having similar problems & it was not just with Spectras.

I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty
I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty. I thought I would be covered for equipment-related vehicle breakdowns. Two days later, on August 18, 2012, which was a Saturday, the car would not start. It was in the afternoon outside a store in the rain. After calling the local Kia dealership, it was expeditiously towed to that dealership. I rented a car and went about my business, hoping that everything would be covered under the excellent warranty. It turned out to be the battery. It was replaced for this dealer, but as a maintenance issue, I had to pay for it. During this process, I was told that the Arizona heat is hard on batteries. This being the case, I believe that Kia policies be changed, and customer not be sent out with an unwarranted battery. To me, it reflects badly on Tempe Kia and Kia as a whole. Another issue is covered in another complaint.

I purchased a 2015 Kia Rio specifically for gas mileage and the GREAT WARRA
I purchased a 2015 Kia Rio specifically for gas mileage and the GREAT WARRANTY. The finance manager at the time of purchase promised the world in regards to the warranty... As a result, I paid for the additional warranty so I didnt have to worry about repairs, etc. Well, not even a month later and 2 days before my first payment is due, the AC went out. Not to worry right!! I have Kias great warranty!! WRONG!! According to the Service rep a rock must have hit the AC compressor and created a hole in the compressor, therefore its not covered in the warranty. They are currently refusing to cover the repair. What a joke this company is. These companies can get away with anything... Unbelievable.

After just a few months of driving my KIA I noticed spots in my paint. I took it to the dealer. They said it was from tree sap and that the warranty didnt cover it. There was a couple employees of the dealership that told me not to give up as management knows there is a problem with the paint, but they dont know how they are going to handle it. Everyone that I have shown the paint to outside of Kia has said it is poor paint because whatever caused the spots went right through the clear coat. I am sixty one years old and this is the first car that I have ever had that had this problem. I dont park under trees, even though with previous cars I did and had no problem. I always keep my car washed.

KIA financed a car for me. I mailed in the payments. They are continuously saying that they did not get the payment for 6-15 days. KIA is saying that this is a postal issue. I mail all of my bills and no one else has any problem getting my mail. KIA is saying that they have waived 5 late charges. They have contacted me three times. In September they called, I paid online and they cashed my check the next day before I could cancel it. Therefore, I paid double. Last month they said, You are late but not late enough to be charged a fee. This month they claimed that it took 15 days for them to get my check.
