Jaguar is the luxury vehicle brand of Jaguar Land Rover, a British multinational car manufacturer with its headquarters in Whitley, Coventry, England.

The XE hit the market for 2017 with a lot of promise: Its good looks and athletic moves had it vying to be our favorite in the small-luxury-sedan segment. However, it's an ultra-competitive segment, and since the XE's debut there have been two very strong new entrants—Alfa Romeo's sweet-driving Giulia and the all-around-excellent Genesis G70—along with a much-improved BMW 3-series. It's still a looker, and it drives well, although we miss the XE's strong 380-hp V-6 that's no longer available for 2020. What's left are two turbo four-cylinders—an entry-level P250 model with 247 horsepower or a P300 with 296 horsepower —that aren't class leading in either performance or efficiency, and its small back seat and trunk hinder the XE on the practicality front. A substantial update for 2020 adds upgraded interior materials and additional features, but still leaves the XE vying for mid-pack status.

Product Reviews:

I purchased my 2007 brand-new Montclair JAGUAR. Six months later, it sounded like an old truck. I took it back to the dealer, and they kept it for five weeks (no parts, order parts, etc. etc.). I was about to call the news station when I finally got a call saying, "It will be ready in a day. Pick up the car," and I was told they were going out of business and were "No longer selling Jaguars, so look for another shop." Two months later, brakes (boot/bushings) need to be replaced.Luckily, they were still in business and had to replace all with warranty. Brakes have not worked right since. I took it back several times. Finally, a year later, they did stop Jaguar dealership and were selling other cars. I called USA Jaguar and was told to go to any Jaguar shop; the car is covered until warranty expires. Went to a new dealer, who worked on the car several times. Then the warranty was about to expire, so I got one of those extended warranty. I was driving the car and it lost power transmission so bad, it needed replacement. Now I went to Bergan Jaguar 30 minutes away, and they told me it was about $2,000.00 to fix. I told them, "Fix it; you sold me the extended warranty." The guy's face almost fell to the floor. It was covered by the extended warranty, which cost me about $2,000.00, so I am breaking even.Six months later, they were out of business, so I went to another dealership... mind you, Jaguar dealers are not in every county in NJ; they're miles and miles away in Madison, NJ. You see, I only purchased from Montclair because it was 10 minutes away, so now I am driving 1/2-hour to find a NEW dealership. Long story short, now I need an alternator (extended warranty). They said I should get a used one because the car is now five years old. I said, "Oh no, I'll call the news station, and I get a new one." NOW BRAKES ARE NO GOOD AGAIN. It is never ending with this car and the brakes. This, too, was my dream car, and it turned out to be a nightmare of a car. #Lemon

I purchased Jaguar S-type for Galpin Jaguar in Van Nice CA a year ago. The car had only 38.676 and now it has now 56,000. I purchased an extended power train warranty for 12,000 miles or 1 year. Two weeks after warranty was over, the throttle body failed, transmission cooling lines started leaking and I was told breaks need to be replaced. I had the car towed to the dealership. Galpin wants to charge me over $3,000 for repairs, and used car manager refused to take any responsibility for any of the above happened, claiming that it's not unusual and things can happen. This was a $40,000 car with 56,000 miles and it's falling apart! I contacted Jaguar customer service. They’re not taking responsibility for their brand product whatsoever! Meanwhile, Galpin offered me 15% discount on the repair and Jaguar supported. I refused to accept the offer and demanded that Jaguar will accept responsibility for the quality of their product. They promised me that local rep will call me today, but he never did. Please help.

I read all of the complaints and thought wow they are so much different than my experience. I have a 2003 S type and am just now 12 years later replacing the battery. I am having trouble with the air conditioning but they think it's just worn out O-rings that let the coolant leak. I have had brakes replaced and new tires and tune ups but nothing major. I have been very happy with my car..

I leased my F-Pace last March from The Collection in the Gables, Miami. A few months later I started to experience electrical issues. First, the push button start didn’t always work, then key stop communicating with the car, the back up camera doesn’t always work, the back hatch doesn’t always open properly, my door has an annoying squeak (but that was something done at the dealer) the overhead lighting console started to fall out and wouldn’t work my nighttime interior lighting, very unsafe for a women to get into a dark car with 2 kids alone. My car was at The Collection service department for a total of 33 days, still not fixed because they claim they can’t duplicate the issues but have spent time and money trying to fix them. JLR/Jaguar Corporate issued need a check from my dealer for the 33 days I didn’t have my car as a compensation. I absolutely love the way my Jag drives and looks, minus the electrical issues that don’t make me feel very safe. I’m a stepmom of 2 kids that I drive to/from school, sporting events, and basically anywhere they need to go and unfortunately I can’t depend/rely on my F-Pace. JLR has refused to do anything more along with the retailer. 61k for a car that doesn’t do what it promises. I was 2x Cadillac customer who took a chance on Jaguar and I am disappointed.

I wasn’t sure if this car would be the best fit for my needs. Once I drove it and saw that the price was very reasonable and a lot less for a used car on their lot, than the car I originally had I was sold! I loved the beauty and luxurious look, I immediately knew this was the car for me. It’s excellent on gas in town and on the highway. I get a lot of compliments on the look and color! Best decision we made in get this car! LOVE IT!!

When I read all the terrible reviews I actually wondered what percent of total Jags sold this represents! I had a 97 XK, a 2010 XK, a 2014 F Type, and 2015 XF, and now a 2016 F Type. I have literally had zero problems... ever! I've owned other exotic brands, including one very expensive one that had to be lemon lawed! The Jags have been refined, problemless, and totally fun to own and drive. The dealers have been wonderful and supportive. WOW!!! A completely different experience from some of these other stories! I love the Jaguars!

Shockingly bad customer service from Jaguar. They create a hidden policy that will charge the customer if he misses a mileage interval for service. No email notifications. No automated notifications on the car. No notifications on prior service. When I objected to the "gotcha" nature of this money grab, the local dealer said it was a Jaguar USA policy. A week later, I get a call from a phone bank operator reading off a script...I sold my car. Jaguar is not worthy of my business. This policy is designed to catch the customer napping. The response to my outrage was a game of hot potato. Nobody accepting responsibility for an egregious policy? Goodbye Jaguar. Other businesses understand customer service and customer retention. Clearly, Jaguar does not.

Almost a year ago, I purchased a new Jaguar F Type. LOVE THE CAR. BUT, customer service is by far the worst I have ever experienced. Let me start in the beginning. The Car was new. So new, the dealerships had limited number of models available and they simply took their allocations and "customized" what they wanted so I was presented a list of cars due in. My car was listed with all options which included "rear view back up camera". The car came in and the window sticker said the same. I took the car home and could not get the rear camera to come work. I just figured I was doing something wrong. The car is very advanced. So I took it to the dealership and after fiddling with it announced that it did not have a back up camera. The next day I had a revised and laminated window sticker in my mail box that removed the camera and I was assured that It was a mistake and I did not pay for the camera. I was upset as everything I had read said it did have it but I figured no problem, I would simply add the camera. I even entertained thoughts that because they had made the mistake that Jaguar USA might pay for the camera or compensate me in some way. Boy was I wrong. Not only was I quickly informed (from everyone from my sales person to a Rep from JAGUAR USA) that because it was simply a clerical error and I had not paid for it, not only would they not assist me but that the camera "COULD NOT BE ADDED TO MY CAR". It was explained to me how the car was so sophisticated that it could not be added. This has been reiterated to me each time I inquire about it and I must say it might be the single most frustrating thing about this whole ordeal. I am far from a master mechanic but I have installed back up cameras on other vehicles and I know you simply install camera, hook power to reverse activated lights and interface with radio head unit. Frustrated, I said, "Please order the camera and harness needed and I will install or find an aftermarket provider that will." That was 9 months ago. I have checked with parts on 4 occasions since then and yes, they ordered the camera but I just can't seem to get them to get me the harness required.Next, I scheduled a visit to the service department on Jan 6th because my center air vent which goes up and down quit going up and down. I also order a new compartment (not under warranty) changing the small compartment between the seats to something I could store a little something in. It in March 1st and I have yet to be called. When I did send an email, I was assured by the service manager (Karen **) that she would see what the issue was. She emailed me and informed me my "part" was on back order. I emailed back and asked her to confirm that there were multiple parts on order and asked that she confirm exactly what was on order. I have not heard anything back. In fact, my reply emails from her email is now getting bounced back....almost like my email is blocked???In ending, this is by far the WORST SERVICE EVER. And ironically it is the most expensive car I have ever bought. I have bought a Mercedes from Crowns sister dealership co-located with Jaguar and service was excellent. Simply stated, when paying $104K for a new car, I expect to be serviced better than when my 1978 Chevy Vega needed a starter but that 20-year-old kid got far better service than I am getting today. Jaguar should be ashamed for releasing a car they cannot support.

I purchased car used. Have had a few problems which have been repaired. The repairs were less than my Kia which I had purchased new. It rides like a dream and get a lot of compliments on the looks and color. I feel very safe driving it and is the perfect car for a 74 year old widow with a small income. When I drive my car it is the greatest driving experience.
