Hyundai Automobile Model 2026 Hyundai Kona

2026 Hyundai Kona

The 2026 Hyundai Kona is a subcompact crossover SUV designed to deliver a balance of affordability, efficiency, technology, and everyday practicality. It is one of the smallest SUVs in Hyundai’s lineup and competes with vehicles such as the Honda HR-V, Chevrolet Trax, and Toyota Corolla Cross. The Kona is known for its modern design, compact size, and available turbocharged engine that provides stronger performance than many competitors in the segment.

Overview

The 2026 Kona continues the second-generation design introduced recently, featuring a larger body, improved interior space, and updated digital technology. It is built to appeal to urban drivers who want SUV versatility in a compact, easy-to-drive vehicle. The Kona seats five passengers and offers good cargo space for its class while maintaining maneuverability in city environments.

Hyundai offers several trim levels, each with different technology features, styling upgrades, and performance options.

Engine and Performance

The 2026 Kona offers two gasoline engine options.

Base engine specifications:

Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4.

Horsepower: 147 hp.

Torque: 132 lb-ft.

Transmission: Continuously Variable Transmission.

Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive standard with optional all-wheel drive.

This engine focuses on fuel efficiency and smooth daily driving rather than aggressive performance.

Higher trims offer a turbocharged engine:

Engine: 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4.

Horsepower: 190 hp.

Torque: 195 lb-ft.

Transmission: 8-speed automatic transmission.

Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.

The turbocharged engine provides noticeably stronger acceleration and a more engaging driving experience.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy varies depending on engine choice and drivetrain configuration.

Typical fuel economy estimates include:

2.0-liter engine with front-wheel drive: about 29 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

2.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive: about 27 mpg city and 29 mpg highway.

Turbocharged engine with front-wheel drive: about 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Turbocharged engine with all-wheel drive: about 25 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

These numbers place the Kona among the more efficient gasoline SUVs in the subcompact class.

Interior and Comfort

The 2026 Kona offers a modern and practical interior with improved space compared with earlier generations.

Key interior features include:

Seating for five passengers.

Cloth or available synthetic leather seating.

Heated front seats on higher trims.

Power-adjustable driver’s seat in premium trims.

Dual-zone automatic climate control on select models.

The updated design provides improved rear passenger space and greater cargo capacity.

Cargo space includes:

About 25.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats.

Up to about 63.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

This makes the Kona practical for groceries, luggage, or outdoor gear.

Technology and Infotainment

Hyundai equips the Kona with modern digital displays and connectivity features.

Key technology features include:

Large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Digital instrument cluster display.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Bluetooth connectivity.

Available premium audio system.

Higher trims also include features such as wireless smartphone charging, navigation, and advanced driver information displays.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The 2026 Kona includes Hyundai’s SmartSense safety suite.

Common safety technologies include:

Forward collision-avoidance assist.

Lane-keeping assist.

Blind-spot monitoring.

Rear cross-traffic collision alert.

Driver attention warning.

Adaptive cruise control on higher trims.

These driver-assistance systems help improve safety and reduce the risk of accidents.

Dimensions and Size

Approximate exterior dimensions for the 2026 Kona include:

Length: about 4,350 mm.

Width: about 1,825 mm.

Height: about 1,610 mm.

Wheelbase: about 2,660 mm.

These compact dimensions make the vehicle easy to park and maneuver in crowded urban areas while still offering useful passenger space.

Trim Levels

The 2026 Kona lineup typically includes the following trims:

SE.

SEL Sport.

SEL Premium.

Limited.

Higher trims add features such as larger wheels, upgraded interior materials, heated seats, additional driver-assistance systems, and advanced infotainment technology.

Pricing

Estimated starting prices for the 2026 Hyundai Kona begin around:

Base models: approximately $26,950 to $27,000.

Mid-level trims: roughly $30,000 to $32,000.

Fully equipped trims: about $35,000 or higher depending on options.

Actual prices vary depending on trim level, optional equipment, and regional market differences.

Overall

The 2026 Hyundai Kona remains a strong contender in the subcompact SUV market. It offers a combination of stylish design, efficient engines, modern technology, and affordable pricing. Buyers can choose between a fuel-efficient base engine or a more powerful turbocharged option, while still enjoying a comfortable interior and practical cargo space.

Due to rude and incompetent people that handle customer service I will never buy a Hyundai again. I like the product but dealing with the people at Hyundai Motor Finance USA is so unpleasant that I would rather buy any other car. The staff doesnt listen to a word you say, they just repeat their demands over and over until you get so frustrated you have to hang up and compose yourself. Ask for a supervisor then you wait on hold for a long period and then just get the same treatment from the supervisors. Whatever happen to customer service? These people are horrible to deal with. If you want a Hyundai DO NOT USE HMFUSA unless you want to deal with condescending, obnoxious, rude and ignorant people!

I was confused to see two emails with 3 different packages. You are forced to buy one in order to get the other two. Mike, sales rep, was not helpful in assisting in my request to speak with a manager, to receive a better understanding. I will not buy another Hyundai, and I will notify any else who plans to buy one with the bluelink. I just spoke with Mike at 7:00 pm, on May 21, 2018. I was very disappointed in Hyundai.

I am another person tricked by this dealership with the $50 test drive promotion. The salesman on site confirmed that the dealership does participate in the promotion AND he welcomed me to take part. He said that he, himself, received the $50. The salesman proceeded to say that he needed to take a copy of my drivers license. He also took my name and email address. He showed me a car on the lot but did not take me for a test drive. He said he had what he needed from me and his manager would process the promotion by the next day. I was supposed to receive it in an email. After nothing happened I asked the manager and it was obvious they never had any intention of following though on promises. First the manager told me that I was not eligible because the promotion was only good for one person in each household. Of course that made no sense because no one in my household ever took part. Then he decided on another bogus excuse and said that the terms and conditions of the promotion allowed him to not participate. This is AFTER they TOOK my information under false pretenses. They took a copy of my ID. They took my email address. And since then, they have had the nerve to use my email address to send me junk email!! What they DID NOT DO is what they promised. As another person commented, it is obvious their word does not mean much. Be careful of this place. Its hard to tell what these guys are up to?? Better to stay away!

Have a 2013 Azera - there are multiple Azeras up the east coast with engine problems. They all got their long block replaced except mine. Got the short block because they were all out in the US. After dealer having the car over 40 days it is shaking at a stop (almost stalling), scared to drive my kids in the car. Dealer says nothing wrong with it now. Time to get window markers and put a lemon on it so everyone knows Hyundai wont do anything except free oil changes...how terrible!

Hyundais look great. But they are like a beautiful apple that is rotten inside. This is concerning a 2012 Hyundai Sonata SE Turbo. I have owned Hondas all my life, and have been extremely happy with their reliability. I had a Honda Civic that I sold at 115000 miles and the only maintenance I had to do was change the oil, muffler, and brakes. I then had an Acura RSX which I traded in with 92000 miles where I only had to change the oil and brakes. My next vehicle was a Honda Accord which I sold with 184000 miles on it. Again, the only maintenance I had to do was oil and brakes. I was going to purchase another Honda, but I fell in love with the styling and the horsepower of the Hyundai Sonata Turbo. I had reservations about purchasing a Hyundai because I remembered the poor quality of Hyundai vehicles throughout the 90s. I decided to take a leap of faith and buy a certified pre-owned which came with the 60k bumper to bumper and 100k powertrain warranty. I figured if Hyundai offered this type of warranty, they must build quality vehicles. My vehicle had 41k miles on it when I purchased it. I have had the car 2 years now and have had nothing but problems with it. The Carfax report showed this vehicle had the Lower control arms replaced (before I purchased it). Since I have purchased it I have had the following problems.46771 miles - Transmission Sensor failure caused the transmission to jump between 2nd and 4th gear and also cause the engine to shift very hard with a big thud. 48619 miles - The Engine failed and the motor long block was replaced. 48886 miles - Coolant was leaking. Replaced hose clamp. 49216 miles - Check engine light came on. Code p0076. Pin 1 was not connecting to solenoid so this was corrected.Somewhere around this time, I called Hyundai to complain about the poor quality of this vehicle. I was assigned to a specialist who was going to help assess why my vehicle was constantly in the repair shop. I do not recall his name. He called me to tell me he had spoken with the service Manager at AutoFair Hyundai in Manchester, NH where I purchased the vehicle. The specialist was unapologetic about my problems and treated me like I was wasting his time. In fact he ranks as possible the worst company representative I have dealt with in my lifetime. He said everything checked out and they did their due diligence with the vehicle. I informed the gentleman that I wanted a new vehicle. He scoffed at the notion. He stated that I had a warranty to cover anything wrong with the car. This was not satisfactory to me because my time was valuable and if the vehicle was malfunctioning at 46k miles, what would happen as the parts aged? The vehicle I purchased was clearly not manufactured properly. He basically told me again that the warranty was in place and that is all I would get. I informed the specialist that I am a recruiter who speaks with over 100 people per week and I would make sure to tell everyone about the poor quality and poor customer service that Hyundai provided. He said, thats fine and the call ended. Clearly this gentleman did not care about me or my situation and didnt care that Hyundai made a very poor quality vehicle.Continuing on with the repairs made to this vehicle. 51670 miles - Rattling when traveling in the city. Stabilizer end link replaced. 58285 creaking when turning. Axle joints replaced. This was all performed under warranty. It didnt cost me anything monetarily, but it did cost me a lot of time taking the car to the dealer and having to get rides to and from the dealership. Sometimes I waited for the vehicle if it was only going to be a couple hours.Since the warranty expired, I have had to replace the sway bar links at 74000 miles due to rattling when driving over bumps. The creaking that was supposed to be fixed by the replacement of the axle joints has gotten worse. I believe the strut mounts are the culprit. In addition, when I start the vehicle in the morning, the engine is having a bit of trouble turning over and is shaking for the first 10 seconds or so. Also, when I start the engine, there is a rush of liquid in the dashboard. I would venture to guess this is due to a failing heater core. Another issue is the transmission is downshifting into 4th gear very hard. The vehicle now has 80500 miles. It is acting like a vehicle with 180500 miles.More repairs at 80500 miles. Housing around the thermostat was replaced due to leaking coolant. Tube leading to oil filter was cracked and leaking oil. Engine head warped. Hyundai doesnt care about its customers. The warranty is bogus. The technicians diagnosing the issues at the dealerships have very little knowledge of the vehicles and take forever to diagnose issues - at the cost of $125 per hour. Beautiful design, very poor quality.

I am so upset Hyundai do not seem to be concern about me not being able to get around. Hyundai got my car, they have to replace my motor, they say they do not have a loaner and tell me to rent a car for two months and they will reimburse me. I have told them several times I cannot afford to do that and pay my car notes. They reached out to me with several lies but closed my account. They say someone will contact me after I contacted them again and its been a week and no one have reached out yet. If they would tell people ahead of time they have some things that goes wrong with the motor many people wouldnt waste time with Hyundai. But I with others will make sure no one else get helmed up like this because this is a burden that we carry without the care of Hyundai. So on every social media page, emails, and in our advertisements with the different companies we will mention how poorly Hyundai took care of us.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Accent which I bought April 1st 2011. Since I bought it, I have had issues with the rubber around the outside of the windshield, which started coming off 2 months after I bought it. I have had to get it fixed twice. The first time they glued it back, it came off again. The second time, they replaced the whole piece. Now December 2011, it is coming off again! Im going on my third time. Then in August, I found out that it came misaligned from the factory and the dealers solution was to put a shim so they could go in and align it properly, that took 2 months to fix and now my tires are warped because of it! By the way, Im still waiting for new tires and it is now December! I spoke to the dealership in order to look at my options, because I no longer want this car. I dont want to deal with the hassle of repeated maintenance (its a brand new car!) and the solution to my lemon is to trade it in so they can squeeze more money out of me for a car that Ive had for 8 months! This was my first brand new car ever. How disappointing. My old 98 Ford Escort gave me less trouble than this. 5 times to get your brand new car fixed in the span of 8 months! What a mistake. Never again!

Purchased my first Hyundai in 2011 & kept the vehicle for 6 and a half years. Warranty was great on the Genesis Coupe 2.0T GT, lasted me for about 5 years when I reached 100,000 kms. During warranty had two things replaced, the defective tail light & an interior button that stopped emitting light. The only reason for my 4 star rating is the defective tail light, which after replacement started to collect condensation again. Of course this time it was out of warranty & both tail lights. I have seen many Genesis Coupes with this same issue, and I am surprised it was never recalled to be fixed. On another negative point, I have had a very bad experience with Hyundai dealerships in Canada. Initially in Moose Jaw I had an amazing experience, but after they changed their employees, the customer service took a big deep. And I had another awful experience in Fredericton, NB at a dealership. Very poor customer service in my experience, I hope they work on that. Other than the issues, I had a great experience with the car, great quality & really fun to drive. During my ownership I only had to change tires & rear brakes. I plan to purchase again, but this time from Genesis brand which I hear offers great customer service.

I purchased a 2020 Kona. I am sure you have all read the reviews. They are true. Car has been drinking oil and I have spent over a year begging Hyundai to help. No luck. Got lied to and now cant get compensation through corporate. They actually expect me to keep driving the car and bringing it back and forth to a dealership. No, I am not a Karen, however I have dumped over 40 quarts of oil into it, spent over a year at various dealerships and even had to hire my own mechanic to tell me there really was a HUGE issue and I was being played. Now, I am down to pretty much not having a vehicle and BEGGING Hyundai to just take their car back and set me free of this in a fair deal that does not leave me broke and with nothing to drive.

Hyundai Motor Finance is not an easy company to work with. We bought our Hyundai and the dealership had superb customer service. Those customer service expectations are obviously not universal when dealing with other entities of Hyundai. We pay our car payments on time every month. The online system did not process our online payment last month even though I got a confirmation number. Hyundai waited 3 weeks before notifying us that they had not received payment. I went online again and paid the payment. I followed up the next morning to verify payment was received. The customer service agent said it had not been. I went online and paid it again per her suggestion. Five days later, Hyundai takes out two payments for the same amount from my checking account. When asked if they could refund, they told me I had to get a letter from the bank, show transaction history, and wait roughly 7 days until the check was cut and sent to me. They can draft accounts but not credit them. I asked if they were going to take care of my late fees. The supervisor said she needed to review the past 3 calls that I had with Hyundai over the last 2 weeks to determine. It may take a few days for someone to get back to me. My complaint is that the customer service reps that I spoke with each time told me different information, and Hyundai does not believe the customer is always right; they believe they are right until proven otherwise, which penalizes the customer. Do not work with Hyundai Motor Finance. They have cost me fees, time, and money from missing hours at work, from having to chase down letters from the bank, only accepting faxed info, not email info and not being able to handle concerns over the phone. All complaints must be in writing.

Two weeks ago we were driving and all of a sudden the engine shut off, no warning lights were on at all at the time this happened. We had Hyundai Roadside assistance tow the vehicle, (waited 2 hours for them) to the closest Hyundai dealer. The next day the dealer called and said the engine was shot, and they had to take it apart to send pictures to the corporate office. 5 days later they called and said Hyundai denied the warranty for Lack of Maintenance. The car only as 46,000 miles, and we have had oil changes. The dealer said they found sludge in the engine. Hyundai never asked for any receipts for oil changes, and just denied the claim. I then called the 800 customer service number, to be told that there was nothing they could do, all complaints were handled through the Better Business Bureau. I asked to speak with whomever denied the claim and they refused. So now I have a complaint into the BBB, but Hyundai has not responded. I dont understand how they advertise the best warranty and then deny all claims. I have researched the internet and found many people has had the same thing happen to them. How is this legal? Our vehicle is leased, so they know we have to fix it before the end of the lease. This seems like a scam, since we have to fix it. We also found at least 5 other Hyundai owners who reported the exact same symptoms as ours on the same make, all of which were denied by Hyundai. I will never buy another Hyundai, they are criminals running a huge scam. Dont believe the salesman when they tell you they have the best warranty. They dont honor it. Dealer told me there is nothing they can do to help. They said that they have seen sludge in the engine in other Hyundais and ours was not that out of the ordinary. However they claim their hands are tied, and all warranty decisions are made by corporate.

I took out a 2 year lease on a Hyundai Tucson. It was extended to 3 years because of lockdown. The contract mileage was 10000/pa but I returned the car with less than 20000 on the clock. No consideration was given for the reduced mileage. A lot of my friends leased vehicles with other companies but were given discounts for their reduced mileage. This was the only company that I have used who have not made allowances for this. It is the last time that I will ever use them again. Its a shame as I loved the car!!!

2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan has a problem with the automatic drivers seat. The seat fails to return to preset position when the car is started. Similarly, it cannot be manually adjusted when this condition occurs. This is a sporadic and unpredictable problem which the dealer has not been able to identify after four visits and approximately 10 days at the dealership. My only recourse at this point is to engage an attorney and file some sort of civil action. I am very frustrated.

I purchased a brand new Sonata, 2.0 Limited edition May 2016. I have 1,032 miles on the car. I was backing out of a parking spot when the power steering failed. It took roadside assistance 2.45 hours to get me and tow my car to the dealership. This happened July 16, 2016. Today is July 26 and the response that I am getting from the service center is that there are major computer problems thats causing the issue and they are working with technicians from Hyundai to get it fixed. They do not know when this will be done. I did some research and saw that there was a recall on the same vehicle prior to the manufacture date of my vehicle. I also experienced an issue with the ABS brakes. When I am stopped in traffic the brake will release and I have to press harder on the brake for the car to stop rolling. Oh, this is also caused by the computer failure. From what I have read thus far on this site, and carcomplaints.com this seems to be a reoccurring...major issue and it appears that Hyundai does not know what or how to fix it. I am very upset about this whole situation right now. Paying for a car that I cant drive. Im concerned that this will continue to be a safety issue and Hyundai has no idea how to repair it. In the middle of dealing with death in the family and having to travel out of town, I was given a loaner, but they did not want me to drive that one out of state (NC), so they gave me a rental. Its a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and would you believe that I have to go trade that car out for another vehicle today because the engine light is on. I contacted Hyundai myself to see if I could get any answers, they said they were unaware of the issue and opened a case. They said they will allow the dealership 3-5 business days to respond and would get back with me. At what point does this become a serious recall issue and we as consumers get this resolved.

I am uncertain if this review is specific to Hyundai Blue Link or Hyundai overall. I am writing this review for solely my experience with Hyundai Blue Link. When I originally went to lease my 2016 Elantra GT I want a remote start. The salesman who was also the sales manager informed me that I couldnt get a remote start installed because the ignition was a push button ignition, but he had a better alternative, HBL. He told me that it was an app on my phone and I could remote start my car from my phone. He said it was $99/yr, which was a better deal because the remote start was $400, and this was a 3 year lease, and he was giving me the first 3 months free! When my first renewal came my credit card was charged $198. I immediately called HBL and explained that my credit card was double charged. The representative explained that my card was not doubled charged; there is a base package called connect to care that all HBL subscribers have to have that is $99/yr, and the remote package is an additional $99/yr. I explained to the representative that, that wasnt how HBL was explained to me; I was not informed about any connect to care package that was mandatory. To compensate me for the confusion the representative extended my services by 3 months for free, but explained from here on out if I wished to have the remote package that I would also have to pay for the base package as well. One year later, I received a notification from HBL that my credit card was going to be charged a renewal fee of $99 on a given date. I called HBL and explained to them that they are 3 months premature in charging my card. They explained that only my connect to care package was extended for the 3 months, not the remote package. I explained that it was my understanding that both packages were extended, and that I didnt want the connect to care, but they were forcing me to have it if I wanted the remote package. I do not recall at this time the entire conversation I had with the representative but towards the end I told the person on the other end that I too was recording the conversation (I lied, I wasnt recording the conversation), and they replied that I didnt have the authority to record the conversation and hung up on me. I immediately called back and long story short, I told the representative that answered my call this time that HBL did not have my authorization to charge my card. The person responded with, I dont need your authorization to charge your card, and it will be charged in the amount of $99 on this date. I ended the conversation with the call center. I called Hyundai motors, and demanded to speak to someone in management. The representative said she didnt have a way of transferring me to someone in management, but she gave me an email to a manager with HBL. Turns out the person she referred me to was the head person over all of HBL. This manager, or VP, I do not recall her title other than she was the head person over HBL, completely sided with me. She pulled my credit card info from the HBL system, and gave me free services through the end of my lease. I believe she also may have fired some individuals but I dont know for sure. Fast forward to current times, I turned my lease in 2-3 weeks early and purchased a brand new Hyundai. I called HBL to transfer my remaining 2 weeks to the new vehicle, but they said that wasnt possible. I have not continued my subscription with HBL with my new vehicle, solely because I feel $198/yr just for remote start is a rip off. I would have given HBL 1 star, but because I was compensated for my troubles I felt they deserved the extra star.

We have had three Hyundai cars, the last being an I30. The first problem was paintwork on the tailgate; rust was bubbling through the paintwork. We informed the dealer. They said that it could be stone chips without even looking at the car. They requested we take the car for photographs for warranty claim so we did. We waited for information on what was happening with the claim. When we inquired about it after three weeks, they said they had no idea what we were on about. Eventually, they found the photos and resolved the issue. We werent happy with the dealer so we changed the dealer. The car broke down after having a service due to fuel waxing in the filter. The filter is meant to be covered under a 5-yr, 40,000 miles warranty. The car had only done under 19,000. After sitting in a car for three hours and losing a days work, the dealer charged GBP77.71 for changing a spin on filter. I spoke to Hyundai UK Customer Services. They werent interested in what I was trying to say, that some fuel filters have the facility to drain water from the filter or service schedules are too long as I have had services of filters at 12,000 miles and 24,000 miles. The Customer Service department was not prepared to listen and eventually tried to pacify me with reimbursement for the cost. Then I had issues with this department. I wrote a letter to the CEO of Hyundai UK. What a waste of a stamp. I received a reply from the Customer Service department. Buyer, beware. If you buy new and you need backup, be prepared for crap customer service.

My only advice is that you check the Hyundai out carefully: repeat to the salesman every word he tells you about the price. If he says the car is fine, dont take his word for it. We love the car but we were lied to about the price. The car was for my wife, we test drive like 8 different makes and models that day. I paid cash or cashiers check for the car. If my wife didnt like as much as she did, I would of never bought it, because of the lies.

I brought my 2008 Sonata in 2009 from Carmax in MD, one previous owner and low mileage. When I took it to my mechanic (Sams Auto Repair), they say it was a cam sensor problem then said it was 2 quarts low on oil. The engine light came back on after driving 10 miles and noise got worse, so I towed it to a Hyundai dealership. They said that the engine had noise from the bottom and top due to it not getting enough oil. They will charge me $5,500 for a rebuilt engine and install it. They said that the possibility of a defective engine was moot because I didnt have documented receipts for my oil changes.

My experience with Hyundai has been one I wouldnt have expected from a reputable company. I was told I couldnt get any assistance with a car I purchased from them in April 2017. Three months after purchasing the car it was in the shop for a check engine issue. I took the car back to see why it was on when I had just purchased the vehicle. Since then my car has been in the shop a total of 8 times to date. I will continue to expose the misrepresentation Hyundai provides to the public on a daily basis with their commercials and other advertisement. As a consumer we all deserve to have the products we pay for to be operable and in good condition. Nelson a representative of Hyundai informed me I would not have any further resolution if I spoke with a manager because they would only listen to him in regards to my complaint directly. I feel every time someone drives a Hyundai vehicle their lives are in jeopardy due to the negligence on production. My car has been in the shop now for over two months to replace an engine that has been replaced for the second time in a year. I can assure you I will never recommend Hyundai products again to anyone. Do not purchase any Hyundai vehicles no matter what they offer you!!!

Since buying this car it has been a horrible experience. Would not recommend Hyundai to anyone. The buying experience at Southtown Hyundai in Edmonton was the worst I have had. When purchasing the vehicle, the dealership was difficult to accept a price offer that worked well for us and them, and in addition did not provide a test drive or viewing of the vehicle I was purchasing even though it was on a different lot nearby. The manager also became rude and aggressive towards my husband and I when we were asking to receive the GoCard promotion. In addition, when picking up my new vehicle it was not completely washed properly and I never got to view it prior to pick up. It was a really bad experience, that I thought would be the end of it. Since having the vehicle it has been into the dealership multiple times as the drivers door does not open after being unlocked in any cold weather. The only way to open the door is to crawl across the passenger seat and open it from the inside in freezing weather, on a brand new car. It has been fixed with a new door latch, which did not fix the problem that came back only 2 days after. It has also been fixed again with a new lubricant that works in colder temperatures as per Hyundai Canada- which stopped working again after a day. I have now booked it in again for the same issue. Calling Hyundai Warranty does absolutely nothing to fix it either, as they respond that the dealership would need to look at it again if it is still not fixed, and they can not do anything for it. At this point I absolutely hate my car that is a new 2020, working like a 1900 pickup truck. I hope that Hyundai can fix it, or provide me some sort of service for the issues involved. But as of right now they have yet to even seem to care.

This have been happening for about a week or so. When I would stop at a traffic light, my Sonata would jerk and sputter then cut off, then I would have to start it back up and put it in gear go, then I would come to another light and it would do the same thing, but none of the check engine lights ever came on. Then yesterday, I was driving and trying to pass a car. I noticed that the car would not go past 60 mph and the tech only got up 4000 rpm, so I pulled off to the side of the road where the car stopped on me. So, I started it up, but then none of the gears would work, and I noticed that one of the check engine lights came on, so while I was waiting for a tow truck, I started the car several times. Each time that I started the car, none of the gears would work and none of the check engine lights were on.

I waited a week and called, no one answered so I left a message. No response from the message so I called again and was put on hold and hung up on. My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Hyundai Sonata. We purchased this car because my wife commuted to work about 80 miles one way and liked the fact that it had the 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. The car has been great mechanically but now the exterior door handles are breaking off. I have since found out from 2 different dealerships that this is a known problem and was directed to file complaints with Hyundai and my Attorney General’s Office. Hyundai did contact me to address the complaint but refuse to offer any kind of assistance to repair the handles. I would not recommend this car to anyone looking to purchase one. Hyundai claims to have Americas best warranty but if you read the fine print youll find out otherwise. Three of the five cars Ive owned as an adult have been Hyundai cars. I liked the warranty and the service, however I have never once with all the servicing Ive had on my cars had their warranty cover anything. Recently I had a transmission problem on my car and I found out that not only am I not covered for 100,000 miles or 10 years as they like to advertise, Im not even covered for 60,000 or 5 years. My car has about 56,000 miles on it and they are not covering anything at this point.Hyundai loves to advertise their amazing 100,000 or 10 year power train warranty, but that only applies to the original owner. The second someone else owns the car it drops down to almost half the mileage (60,000) or 5 years, whichever comes first. It wouldnt be as infuriating if they had not been so vocal about their warranty the whole time. They told me over and over again about the coverage and how great the warranty is. The second youre outside the life of the warranty though things will start falling apart. Its happened with every Hyundai Ive owned. This is the last Hyundai I will ever own.

I had bought a New Hyundai I20 Era on 19th of June 2012 from M/S Advaith Motors Pvt Ltd, Bannerghatta Road, (Next to Spar), New # 1 to 5, Old # 44/1 A, Bangalore - 560076, +91-80-22966201/3. Immediately after one month of the Drive of around 400 KMS, the drum brake sound started. Since it was new car, I thought may be it needs to set or something. However after the first service I still have the same issues, then I realized it is real Problem. After that I had visited and asked them for replacement or fix of the brake system. They did some cleaning and then they gave it to me and it went fine for few days and again problem started. Now it is 3 times the Brake system has been replaced and then number of times it has been services, the brake problem persists.Due to the assurance given at the beginning of the problem by Service Manager in Advaith, I kept on going to them to fix the issues and then drive for few days and then go back again to fix the issues. Now after it was going to be one year, I raised complaint in May and then Brake was replaced to fix the issues saying that it is a service issue. However again the problem is still there. Yesterday I had Advaith Service personal visit and also see the same issues. I had driven around 10 KMS to show him the issue again and then they ask me now to bring again the Car to the Garage and then will see and fix the issue.Since I have been wasting my precious time of Visiting the garage and keeping my car in the garage for repair and replacement, I will no longer be able to do the same. I need a permanent solution. I even tried to sell the Car 2 Lakhs Less than the Amount within 7 Months of Buying due to this problem; however no one is ready to buy the car with Brake Problem. Due to the Brake issues if any thing accidental happens, Hyundai will be responsible for this. I have to use this car as I have to travel to office with the same only. I had already had minor accidents due to disturbance and also when I tried to avoid the sound. I had spent significant amounts of time and also money for this Problem, if not given permanent solution then I would not not hesitate to claim it too. So please let me know your feed back so that I can go to further Process of getting my rights.PS: I had call to the Customer Care today and they said I have to go to service center again and there is no solution other than that. And they also said complaint was raised them in May (after 11 Months) and so it is Service Issue. If I would have complained on the second month to this mail ID or Customer Care I think it would be better rather than going to the Distributor who always takes the ownership of the Product as to the Law. However now I am coming to you directly to have solution. Please let me know if you need scan copy of all the Receipts and Proof History of Break issues with Advaith Hyundai from the day it started. You can also refer the History of the Car. I am also posting a Registered Letter to the Corporate address.

I have to say I WAS a huge Hyundai supporter. In fact, I referred a family member and a friend to buy one of your cars as well. I say WAS because my 2011 Sonatas engine blew and the dealership (Jim Ellis Hyundai - Atlanta, GA) cannot tell me why. They actually said it would cost $400+ if I wanted to know exactly what happened. They denied me warranty service and told me a new engine would cost $6,800 for a TWO (2) year old car. This is unbelievable to me from a company that stands on its warranties on their cars. I am sure Hyundai is aware that an unhappy customer will reach 10-20 times more potential new customers than a happy customer. I am at this time an UNHAPPY customer.

On November 19th, 2021, I contacted the team (via (800) 523-4030) to ask the best course of action for receiving, completing and returning the required documentation for this request. I was advised to mail in the documentation, to the overnight office located at the following address: 5505 N. After not receiving any follow up, I contacted the team again on December 9th, 2021 to confirm delivery. No confirmation was provided and I was told they would be following up with their partners in Chicago. I followed up again on December 17th and the 27th, still no answer or record of previous conversations. On the 27th I resubmitted the state to state transfer request via email/secure message. I was referred to the escalations department and have followed up 5 times since as resent the email once. Including today. There is still no record of notes from previous conversations or requests previously sent.Today I asked for a 4th submission via secured messaging, a copy of my title and for yet another email to be sent to the titles and complaints department. None of which has taken place. I am currently paying monthly for a vehicle I cannot legally operate, due to the customer service teams blatant neglect for the last 2 months. Each time I call I have to repeat this story. Enough is enough.

Both of the passenger windows in my 2007 Sonata will not stay up. These windows have probably only been rolled up & down 10 times since the car was purchased, because I dont normally have back seat passengers. I cant afford to have them fixed. I am retired. The left one went out first about a year ago, and then the right one about six months later. I have tried everything from wedging something into the opening to keep the windows up, to taping them. Nothing works. This is a dangerous problem when you are driving down the highway & suddenly your back windows fall down, it could cause a wreck when you hear it suddenly & look back.In my opinion, Hyundai is a good car as far as the motor goes, but they really cheaped out on the interior. Another problem I have had for about 3 years, is the visors on the driver and passenger side wont stay up. I tried velcro, but it didnt work, so now I have tied them up to the handles above the windows to keep them up.Needless to say, this looks ridiculous. The visors would block my view. I have never had a car that had these problems. Because of the cheap interiors, I will never buy another Hyundai. I do believe these problems should cause a recall, especially on the windows.

Brought my out of warranty 2011 Hyundai Tucson to my local transmission repair shop for service in mid-November (you dont go to a general surgeon if you need brain surgery). Shop states a shaft is bad and they need to order one. One is ordered from the local Hyundai dealer Mid State Hyundai in Berlin VT. Parts folks state that shaft is out of production. Production to resume on 2 December. We wait for 2 December to come. Part shows up, shaft does not fit, too big. Right part number on the box, wrong shaft. Transmission shop, Mid State and Hyundai in Korea go back and forth as to what happened.Based on the VIN, part should be correct. Pictures and drawings are sent back and forth; meanwhile, I still dont have a car. Finally determine wrong part was put in box and shipped. Now have to wait until 7 January for the right part. Neither Mid State nor Hyundai will do anything to rectify this. I have been without a car for over a month; I simply want a loaner. If Hyundai had not messed up the part, I would have had my car back on the 3rd or 4th of December. This is not customer service on the part of Hyundai or Mid State.

Went Sat. morn to pick up car - drove car home. While getting ready to go to work noticed oil on back window, tail gate, and rear bumper. Looked in motor compartment and noticed oil around and on motor. Checked oil - the level was up so guessed they didnt clean up oil from changing valve cover. Called dealer. Explained problem. They wanted me to bring car back. Said I couldnt because of work and never make it by the 6pm time he gave me. I told him what I thought it was he asked to check oil level. Told him I did and level was up. He said ok to drive but keep eye on oil level and to call Monday morning to make arrangements to bring car in. Did as instructed - called on Mon. morn. Was told to try to have car towed. Tried to find tow truck - only one the dealer suggested was 200 and about 3 hours. Called dealer back. Explained to him about tow co. and explained to him that I looked under car and that there was no oil under the motor but there was oil dripping from where they put the new axle in. He told me not to drive the car in but to have it towed in. I asked him who pays the tow bill. He stated I have to. I told him it was where they fixed it why do I have to have it towed in. His statement was until they find out the problem was it was up to me to get it in. The dealer called me on 4/28/15 - stated that the leak was from the axle that for some reason that the axle would not lock in. I asked him then who pays the towing bill, he stated to bring bill in but he doubts they will pay.Third oil leak in motor, they said was valve cover gasket was leaking again (replaced last year for same reason). Also when I dropped the car off the week before that there was a chirping noise in the front of the motor. The dealer claimed it was idler pulley and replace it now. The motor knocks real bad. The dealer said it was my fault for not having oil changed on a regular time frame, I told him that it was changed on a reg basis. He told me that the oil filter was full of sludge. I told him that You show me one motor that at 97000 miles that doesnt have sludge in it.He got pissed off and wouldnt talk until I asked if he was still there on the phone. He told me to bring in receipts for oil changes. I dont have all because there were times I changed oil and filter myself. He told me that I would have to pay to have the motor torn down at my cost at three hours labor and if there is any sludge in motor that I would have to pay them for the repair. Every time I take car to this dealer I always have problems and no other dealer will do the work on the car because of the warranty and the extended warranty. Sorry. Tried to be short and to the point as possible.

We purchased our 2006 Sante Fe from MJ Sullivan in New London, CT in June 2006. It has the 6 cyl engine with AWD. I just passed the 120,000-mile mark and this car is running like a champ. It is an everyday vehicle and we use it for all driving trips. I had to replace the tires at 95,000 miles because of a puncture in the sidewall (the tires still had about 1/3 the depth of a penny for tread), the brakes at 90,000 (the pads were making a slight scraping sound on the rotors) and the timing belt at 105,000 miles (my mechanic showed me the belt and said it would have lasted another 25,000 miles). We couldnt be more pleased with our car and Hyundai, and we are now purchasing a Hyundai Elantra Limited for my wife. We have never had any major problem with the car and have performed only routine maintenance for the past 6 1/2 years.

This is with deep disgust that I am writing this letter to Hyundai. My familys loyalty toward Hyundai started in the year 1999 with the first generation Santro. From there, we have possessed Accent which was bought by my brother, two Verna first generation, etc. and finally we have gone for a Fluidic Verna in the year 2011. I possessed a white Verna SX CRDI ABS, which was the top variant in the year 2008. The reason for top model with ABS was due to the utmost safety concerns. But I had 3 instances of accident with my car which was due to ineffective ABS. This complaint I have raised with The Popular Motor World delegates in Cochin, Kottayam, Muvattupuzha centers in Kerala but they could not help me on the same.I had spent thousands of bucks on service after the other but the result was the same. Now, my car has covered 75,000 kilometers and even last week, I was about to meet with an accident owing to the problem of the ABS. Now, delegates in the service department is suggesting me to change the ABS Sensor. Brand loyalty is exercised by a customer due to various factors among which I believe the most important one is service quality and the ownership the company takes to give customer delight. But now when I turned back, I am surprised to find that passenger car market had given me numerous option to choose from but still I was loyal to Hyundai and all due to that decision I am now having a tough time. None of the brands are built in a day and I strongly believe that quality is not an accident but an outcome of conscious and continuous effort. Please help me to come out of this issue. Thank you.

We bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. I only get 34 MPG on the HWY. The mileage reimbursement is nothing short of insulting. I was blatantly lied to by my salesman when I purchased my car. I was very much bothered that the hybrid does not have a spare tire, so much that I considered walking away! But my salesman said, If you get a flat, we will bring you a tire and YOU GET FREE TIRES FOR FIVE YEARS. I replied, Is there a mileage limit on getting the new tires? Salesman: No mileage restrictions, free tires for five years. ABSOLUTE LIE!! I called the service department recently and the woman practically laughed at me! And last, I called the previous Mercedes Benz dealership that I bought a car from in 2002 (WHERE TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE LIVES). Turns out the 100,000/10-yr warranty that we paid $1,995 for, cant be transferred which dramatically reduces the resale value!! Not only did the company lie about the MPG but the dealership lied as well!! I will never buy another one!

I bought four units of Hyundai Starex at my country, Malaysia. My Hyundai Starex MPVs were registered under Malaysia numbers. I bought the first two units in 2009, another unit in 2010 and another unit in 2011. Now, the first unit, that has 178,000 miles, encountered some problems. Whenever I made a turn, the vehicle is moving and it is becoming dangerous. I also have problems with the aircon compressor. My question is, are these two items still under warranty?Malaysia Hyundais slogan is very attractive: Warranty under 3 years or 300,000 miles. But when I made a claim, they said, sorry, there is no warranty for your vehicle. What? No claim? My vehicle has never been in an accident before. Apparently, your slogan is only meant to cheat us. I am very disappointed with Hyundai Malaysia.

This is our 4th Hyundai, second Tucson. You have lost a customer. This 2017 limited Tucson turbo is terrible... the transmission is awful... hesitation, jerking. I have had it to the dealer several times to be told “nothing is wrong”. They tell me they are aware of the problem but until Hyundai does something to fix the issue their hands are tied. I’m sure there will eventually be a huge lawsuit and then... Hyundai will say bye-bye! So sad!

New I10 Not Working: This is to inform you that I had purchased a new Hyundai i10 Asta on 11th April 2012. The vehicle was registered under registration no. **, and the same was delivered to me at 7pm on 11th April 2012. After taking possession of the car, I left for my residence at Naigaon. As I was closing towards Naigaon, my vehicle stopped working after a run of just 68 kms and was completely dead. I parked the vehicle and next day, I called up their call center and complained for the same. I was given a complaint no. (job no. **). Their technician, Mr. **, reached the spot and inspected the vehicle. After nearly working for two hours on the vehicle, he reported that the vehicle cannot be repaired as it would not start; hence, it had to be towed to their Thane workshop. He called certain concerned people, asked for a tow van and gave a report form giving details as vehicle not starting, alternator problem, taken by towing. From there onwards, my turmoil to get my vehicle repaired started. I called up the showroom from where I had purchased my vehicle and spoke to their sales manager, Mr. **, tel no. **, who promptly shifted his responsibilities to Mr. **, tel no. **, stating he is the technical in charge and will be able to help me out. On contacting him for two days, I got only one reply from him that we are trying to locate the fault. On pressing him to give me a proper status of my vehicle, he abruptly said that he was not concerned about it and was just trying to help me out and I should be contacting their technical in charge of Thane workshop, Mr. **, mobile no. **, as the vehicle was in their possession. After explaining to Mr. ** the entire case, he to promised to come back and report the same. As I did not get any response from him in the next 24 hours, I called him back on which he told me his assistant, Mr. **, will keep me updated of the status. I waited for another 24 hours waiting desperately for his call. I called Mr. ** and informed him that I have not received any call from Mr. **, on which he was very courteous of giving me his mobile no. ** (Mr. **). He called me up in the next 10 minutes and Mr. ** was the first person to update me that the vehicle had some alternator problem which they will replace and the vehicle should be ready by 16th April evening. After calling him again in the evening for my vehicles delivery, he told me that there were still some problems with the new alternator as the current was fluctuating and the vehicle needs further inspection for a day. I asked him if I could speak to someone senior but he could not provide me with any. In my desperation, I went to the Hyundai site address and got the number of M/S **, assistant manager, western division regional office, tel no. 022 40969000. On speaking to her, I thought I am coming close to solving my problem who promised me that she will look in to the matter and come back within an hour. After contacting her after an hour, she told me that I will see that my regional manager will personally look in to my case and by tomorrow, she will be coming to some solution. On 17th April, I tried to call M/S ** but I couldnt go through her tel. no. But I got a call from Mr. ** stating that the alternator replaced was also defective and they were waiting for a new alternator to arrive. This probably was the peak of any company being so irresponsible and hence, I once again called and told M/S ** that I do not wish to take a repaired vehicle, where their best technicians as claimed could not locate the problem in nearly six days for a brand new vehicle which was used for only three hours and approximately 70 kms. After purchasing a brand new vehicle and it stopping within three hours of delivery and me desperately calling nearly 125 times to their six top company representatives in the last six days and going in to hardship like getting stranded in the middle of the night and using a car on rental for the last seven days, my problem has no solution as I was forwarded to one more executive Mr. ** (**) by M/S ** as she had to go to Pune and could not attend to my problem. Last but not the least, Mr. ** has once again promised to look in to the matter fairly. As a customer, I dont deserve to suffer like this whereby I will be forced to address my complaint to the Consumer Forum as no solutions are seen.

As of today I still do not have my title. I have called almost everyday and Ive been hung up on. Ive talked to 4 different supervisors and gotten stone walled on every phone call. Their favorite answer is The title dept isnt available at this moment. Hyundai Motor has the worlds worst customer service and support.

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe - May 2016 I call Hyundai with concerns about my airbags not deploying and I explained everything to the lady I spoke with and was told they should have deployed. I was offered a new Hyundai. I provided all information, documentation and pictures and everything to my knowledge. I receive a letter from Hyundai consumer affairs in July saying that my case would be closed if I didnt provide information asked for. So I provided it to them at the email provided on letter. David ** called me and stated that if I sent anything else to them he would no longer speak to me and close my case. I provided again which he stated he didnt receive so I called and he wouldnt return my call.I called the number in his email asking for an address to mail the pictures and documentation to and the lady I spoke with told me that she wasnt allowed to give me that information and according to the police report that I was at fault and got what I deserved which most of my phone calls I have witnesses to which was stated because I couldnt really stand or walk so it was put on speaker and held for me. Then once all information was provided I no longer heard from David, could not get in contact with. It took months of complaints and calls which was aggravating. Then I received a call after the car had been auctioned off that I told David I had retained an attorney which was untrue and that I never signed and returned the release. So he closed my case when I provided original release and proof. I never said that which Hyundai consumer affairs had in their records. Also he called me back and said according to the pictures and documentation that the car didnt perform as it should have, that Hyundai wanted to settle to provide medical bills and all cost. This was October 2016. He said it was approved for partial coverage which he would not explain meant and then said they were leaning towards full settlement and December 1 2016 was last contact I received where David asked me what would it take to make this go away and to take in consideration that my vehicle was not equipped with side airbags.Once I proved that it was by the vehicle documentation he said, Wow okay that changes everything, that he would call me in a few days, that they were going to have a settlement offer and then called back that evening saying that he needed the police report which a month before stated it wasnt needed to proceed and even tho it was provided in july 2016. After that he would no longer return my calls or emails. I finally got one response saying they got the police report and was waiting on last sheet that goes with it that they requested nothing else. Now last week he called saying my claim was denied, that the officers statement stated that I was in vehicle not restrained and specifically that side airbags deployed even tho they already got statement from my insurance company saying they didnt and will not provide this report.I supposedly signed saying my airbags deployed and I wasnt wearing a seatbelt. I have pictures proving nothing deployed. The way this was handled and how I was treated being told from day one I got what I deserved, the constant threats to close my case, the remarks that if Hyundai felt that my case was worth it they would investigate, constantly being called a liar and the excruciating pain I was and still am in just doesnt seem right at all. I expected better treatment and respect from a company.

I purchased my preowned car Aug 2013 at Long Island City, NY and I must say that since day one I have had many problems with it. It all started with the wheels making a very loud noise then it escalated, and all the problems were because of recalls. I tried having the dealership exchange my car, and they refused so I ended up with a lemon car then I relocated to Ithaca, and of course my engine seized, and since I have been out here my car has been in and out of the shop. I must say they all been great but I should not continue to have problems with it. Car is paid in full and its only been six years that I have this car and my experience has been the worst. My car came out the last week Monday and I drove it back to New York City, and it didnt seized or shutdown on me but it still dont drive as it should. Smh no good! I been saying it since day one that I got stuck with a lemon car even the body is not aligned smh. Single mom always stressed that I will get stuck in the middle of nowhere with my 8 yrs old daughter. Its so wrong! What a waste of my hard earned money. Im hoping to win the lottery to buy myself a new car that I can drive and enjoy it.

Bought 2012 Genesis in July 2012. By Nov. 2012 noted rough ride on freeway and streets with small bumps or cracks would feel like car bottomed out with absolutely no Shock Sense which is still a problem today. Right veering/pull to right very minimal at first but now able to change lanes within approximately 3 seconds. Always told no issue found until recently. After researching the pulling to the right issue, many Genesis and other Hyundai cars have this issue, either right or left. Got Hyundai corporate involved and last time in shop for alignment issue, I drove with service tech to show pulling right issue. He agreed it did pull (same tech who 2 months earlier said there was no pull and even hinges was within specs). There is a Hyundai TSB for 2012 year put out in March of 2012 for alignment issue and how to evaluate it. Right front camber always in negative. Also excessive wear on right front tire even though rotated regularly. Black soot on tailpipe within a few months of having car, always told all OK. On looking up gdi 3.8 engines found this is a problem with need to use top tier gas and supposedly will need to clean intake valves, etc. Just research on Internet very interesting articles about gdi engines. Bluetooth drops phones and have to pair again with different name for phone. Just replaced carbon filter in fuel tank as on filling up gas pump constantly clicking off taking 15 minutes or so to fill up. Hyundai blamed veering to right in December 2015 on radial pull due to bad new tire or tires. We got second opinion from other alignment store and then obtained from where tires purchased. No radial pull noted, suspected strut and camber as camber in negative.Hyundai stated had to tweet subfamily on right to get right camber within specs. Interesting. Still have minimal pull to right but now dont change lanes within 3 seconds or less. For the paint chipping, we scratched or scuffed it up which is not true. We saw the exact same car color and year with the same problem on the frame under the driver door sill. Immediate response from Corporate and about week from their regional manager. Would definitely not buy another Hyundai. So fed up with this.

I bought my 2011 Sonata SE in April 2010. At about 55K the automatic transmission began shifting harshly. Within about 2 weeks the shifting had become a hard bang and the car was undriveable. The dealer spent three days diagnosing it but were not able to determine the cause. The manufacturer authorized them to replace the transmission. Over the months that followed, usually at highway speeds, the vehicle routinely surged in RPM from 2000 to 5500, but did not surge in speed. Two weeks ago, at 91K, the vehicle began to experience very delayed shifting from 1st/2nd and 2nd/3rd, surging in RPM before each shift so that when the shift occurred the vehicle speed increased excessively creating a jack rabbit start. This week while driving at highway speed the transmission jolted dramatically, the speed dropped, and the RPMs rose. I figured it had gone into limp-home mode. I parked the car, verified that it was in 4th (by placing it in the manual shift position), and called the dealership. I let the vehicle sit for a couple of hours and found that it drove normally. I took it to the dealership where they pulled codes which indicated an incorrect setting for gear ratio at 6th gear. This seemed odd to me since thats all electronically/programmatically determined, and it made me wonder if they had downloaded the most current transmission control module program when they installed the second transmission. They are now installing the third transmission under the 100K Powertrain warranty. I have not yet been notified to pick up the car.I am very concerned for several reasons: (1) The erratic transmission behavior has me afraid to drive the car, especially at highway speeds. (2) I am very concerned that sometime in the next 35K to 55K Im going to have to replace the transmission - and that it may fail due to not being properly programmed or installed. I have not yet heard back from Hyundai Consumer Affairs.

My 2013 Hyundai Veloster engine went bad for the 2nd time after six years. The 1st time it was under warranty and it was replaced in five weeks and I received a rental vehicle paid by Hyundai. The 2nd engine failed two years after it was replaced and after a recall was completed at the dealership to correct an ignition issue that could damage the engine. It took ten weeks to replace the engine and I did not receive a rental or loaner car. Hyundai did replace the engine out of warranty but it is obvious that they know they have issues with this engine. Who has two engines go bad in six years? I picked up my car from the service department on a Friday and traded it in on a VW Saturday morning. I will never own a Hyundai ever again!

I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata that I purchased brand new in December 2012. It just hit 36,000 miles. I am having a serious concern about the rust and corrosion under the hood of the car meaning all of the metal clamps and motor mount are rusted, also the strut bolts are corroded. The metal on the power steering hose is rusted, the undercarriage is rusted at the weld points. I have had the car back to the Hyundai dealer three times now. Each time they have stated that they have sent pictures to the regional manager. I did speak with the regional manager recently and he said that he never received any pictures so I dropped the car off again to have pictures taken. This made the 3rd time that it had been dropped off. I am hoping for a positive result. The tech stated that this was not normal and ask if my car was at the shore points a lot. Elantra 2015 - Starting at 3000km uncontrollably bouncing at highway speeds, trying to drive me into the ditch. Dealer in Belleville, Ontario, Canada said never heard of the issue. Google proved him wrong and when I took the printed proof was told it the USA assembled cars with the problem. I persisted and got new balance, then new heavier rears shocks, more balance and new specialized balance and at 12,000km a mechanic finally determined it was a problem with the Continental brand tires on the Hyundai (I was one of thousands who had already complained). Finally got new set of Continentals to replace original. Perhaps the service department cant balance tires but the problem still remains (although a bit milder). No resolution yet!!!

I took my 2013 Genesis in for a recall and was talked into trading it in and leasing a new Tucson. I then read that if I were to total the leased vehicle, I would be out the equity from my Genesis as the insurance would pay them, not me. When I realized this, I called and they said they would send the title. It has been a week and I dont think Ill be getting it. Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. Stay away from Southtowne Hyundai!

If i could give this place negative stars I would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.. This place is the effing worst. I get a notice of a recall on my car so I make an appointment to bring my car stating that this is for a recall ... The lady takes my info ... vin number and all tells me exactly what I need done... I have to take the day off of work to get the service done only to find out that day they dont even have the part available. You would think someone would of called me beforehand . I had reschedule. .. I take it back on my scheduled date only to be told Oh this is an all day thing youll have to bring it back another day. I informed the guy as calm as I could that this is the second time Im here for this same issue I was scheduled to come in why wouldnt they again tell me this over the phone. He asks me can you leave it over night. I told him I was prepared to leave and have a ride home waiting... As long as I can get it back before Monday Ill be good. He said yeah itll be ready tomorrow. Ill call you. Never got a call back. That was Saturday. Today is Sunday Im calling like crazy to get a status on my car only to find out they are closed today. So unprofessional. I will never deal with this place again. Im finding out info on how to complain to corporate.

I bought this car when it was 3 yrs old and had it for 2 yrs. I noticed the engine took a long time to start and just got worst. When I took it in for a service they found the head gasket had blown. This is on a 5 yr old car! Whats worse is the warranty had just run out by a couple of weeks. I rang up Hyundai but they wouldnt repair it under warranty or goodwill since it just run out. You dont expect a head gasket to blow on a car this age. This is more common on very old cars with high mileage. Considering this is a very unusual thing to happen and with its warranty just run out you would expect Hyundai to fix it for me or at least pay some of the cost. The cost to fix it is just under a £1000 and the car is only worth £5000 :(

I too have had trouble with my airbag light on my 2005 XG350 since it was new. The service records show this. Now that the warranty has expired, the dealer technician told me to bring it in for reset since I have had history of having it reset and also new bags installed. However, this service shop is all the way across town and I live approximately 45 miles away. I have decided to just let it burn out. More of a hassle to get it fixed. By the way, I now have trouble with my seat belt not retracting. It is fully extended all the time. I just hope I dont get into any severe accident whereby I will need it. Lord help!

2012 Tucson 36,000 miles purchased new. Danbury Hyundai Danbury, Ct. Car brought back to Dealership X3 for 4 issues. Brakes, seat belt not retracting, overhead lights and dash door open light comes on intermittently and Bluetooth disconnects intermittently. On the first visit the service department could find nothing wrong with the car. On the second trip they fixed the drivers side rear brake but could not duplicate the other 3 issues. Then they said they could not warranty the items they could not duplicate. Car still has all the same issues and they will not return my phone calls. Very unprofessional!!!

I lost my car via accident since June 3rd 2015. My insurance company has been conversing with Hyundai since June 9, 2015 to obtain a letter of guarantee. Up to today we had a three-way conference call with Hyundai, my insurance and myself to get on the same page. Translation between the insurance and the customer service has been the most horrible experience ever. It should not take a month and more to fix this issue of a letter. Every time you call either the information was never sent or attached to be sent to the total loss department. For this to be a top selling company now, there need to be a better way to have individuals speak directly with the total loss department to correct discrepancies and miscommunications. I am really annoyed as I need this settled.

I have never, in my life, been treated so rudely. Their customer service rep hung up on me. I thought she had all the information that she needed and gone to find out. The next day when I was expecting my paperwork to be where it was supposed to, it was not. So when I called back the next day, upset that my paperwork had not been transferred, the rep on the phone was once again rude. The rep promised my paperwork would be there in 1-2 hours, and it was never done on time. Not only is this now costing me money, but I was treated horribly as well. And with an interest payment of 20% on a car, they should invest money in training their reps.

2007 Accent problems - Where to start. First off, Ive had nothing but issues with this car. Faulty lighting, faulty sensors even my passenger air bag doesnt work, and theyve fixed it twice now. My light still remains on. I started having car issues when my car started jerking really hard when it went into gear. I took it to the dealership and they said everything was okay. My car runs like a champ. I asked them personally. Did you check my transmission? They said yes, everything is fine. I called a week later because I still was feeling the kick in my transmission. They said they never checked my transmission last time I was in. I feel I was lied to. Also, apparently, there was a recall on my car for several faulty wiring issues. I was never informed about this. I just found out in 2012 when this recall happened in 2009. Also, I got into a car accident. It was not my fault. Ive had my car took in twice for an alignment, window fixed 3 times. Also, my axle was affected in this wreck. They did not tell me this until I took it to someone else and they told me that my axle was messed up due to my car being hit. Hyundai never fixed it. Ive had something lose moving around under my car ever since the accident and they are still saying there is nothing wrong with my car and refuse to fix it. I plan on getting this car fixed then trading it in. Ive paid way too much money for things that were under warranty and should have been fixed the first time. I will never again purchase a car from Hyundai.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon in March of 2011. It currently has 60,312 miles. Whenever the car needs to shift into 2nd gear, it jumps. I have been told that I need a new transmission. Being that I am not the first owner of this car, the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Being that the mileage is so low, I feel that the transmission should have not gone out so soon. This is my first purchase of a Hyundai. Ill never buy one again. Next time Ill stick with Subaru.

I bought brand new Sunday Tucson on February 3, 2018 in Keyes Hyundai Van Nuys. I drove about 2k miles when I started experiencing high noises, something like buzzing sound that was getting louder with accelerating. When first did the drive test, I was impressed how easy the car does drive, well it got worse when I started using it. Very unstable on highway, you can feel any crack on the surface you drive on, pretty loud inside. But getting to my issue, first I took it to check the tires, I was advised that it might be wheels bearing. Then took it to service, they have very odd hours and there is always empty there. They will not take you on Saturday for diagnostic either, so they did check my car and happened to be that the car transmission failed. Wow right after 2k, very unusual, anyways they got me loaner from Hertz and promised to get me the car in 3 days. I will be posting and blogging about this more. I feel I got lemon and more issues are going to happen. Very unsatisfied customer.

When you call in to Hyundai there is the normal menu that you select to reach the correct department. I was trying to reach Blue Link and I was put into a phone queue, theres music in the background asking you to hold but there is no indication of how long you have to hold. After an hour and 15 minutes with no answer I hung up and tried calling again making a different selection. Ive been selected Genesis customer service. After about 15 minutes they picked up the line and informed me that Id have to call back to Blue Link and they could not help me reach them. I asked to speak to a supervisor and then found out that if you wanted to speak to a supervisor you could leave your number and they call you back in the next day or two. So I left my number and received no return phone call. I then followed up with an email to customer service and again received no communication back other than acknowledgment of my email. Its now been two weeks, 4 phone calls and three emails later. Not a single phone call for me to go full email response. If you have a Hyundai product need help they arent there, Although I like the car I will not be buying another Genesis in 2018. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had with a major manufacturer.

The car drives fine, however am having a lot of issues with headlights and taillights having to be replaced. Not really happy with it. Headrests push head forward causing continual discomfort. Windshield angle makes it hard to clean windshield and dashboard. I also wish there were added wide view rear view mirror, or side mirrors that would show blind spots. Even so, I like having controls for my music on the steering wheel. Its a nice safety feature. I also like the number of miles/gallons feature. Nice to have a quick visual of how far you can still drive on the gas you have. Like the Bluetooth connection as well.

I recently called/Hyundai roadside assistance, noticing that it included towing. My vehicle has a flat tire, and at this point I don’t have a ton of extra money. I live 200 feet away from a Firestone tire, a relative helped by purchasing the tire I needed and Firestone said they would install it. All I have to do is get the vehicle or the wheel over there. Well Hyundai Veloster don’t come with a spare tire or jack. So I can’t jack the car up and take the wheel off, this didn’t seem like a problem knowing I had roadside assistance. Well roadside assistance will not hold me across the street where I already have a fully paid tire waiting, they would however bring me to a Hyundai dealer but they are non-local to me. I was told by the tow company that exceptions can be made so I spent time on the phone with Hyundai’s customer service just so that they could tell me no. I can assure you after customer service like this I will never return to Hyundai again. This is a lack of compassion for their consumers, I understand you want me to be brought to a Hyundai dealer so the dealer can make the money on the tire and installation, but in my particular situation you should’ve okayed a tow across the street; don’t buy a Hyundai thinking you have someone there for you when you need it. You don’t.

I bought 2 Hyundais in the past 5 years and every time I go to the dealer to fix a problem, they say, Yes it is not working properly, but it still works enough to not replace. This goes for the shocks that wont lift the hatch back up, and the AC that makes a loud clunk sound EVERY time I turn off the car. Dont believe the warranty because they will delay you until the warranty runs out. Tired of their lies!

Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off
Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off on me randomly twice! First time it shut off I had to pick my toddler up from daycare that is 40 min away and they told me they will come in about an hour and half to tow my car. And they will not give me a loaner or anything to replace the vehicle while being looked at while my toddlers school closed and they are waiting for me to grab him. I kept trying to start the car in a panic and 2 hours later before the tow truck got to me the car started and I rushed to get him. The next day took the car to get looked at Paramus Hyundai service center and spent the whole day there with my baby for them to tell me my car is fine and told me I gotta go that they are closing. Meanwhile I tell them I do not feel safe driving with my baby in a car that shuts off with no warnings in middle of the road and I want a loaner and this car looked at more to find the problem. They said no and thats not their problem. Following week sure enough the car shuts off again at 8pm in middle of the road with my dogs and baby in the car and this time it never went back on. Cops stopped the traffic moved the car off road and when I called the sos they told me they cannot tow the car because the service center is closed and they cant get permission to park the car there... So we walked home from that area about a 15-20 min walk at around 10pm. I had to drag the baby back with me early morning to tow the car and sit at the service center all day with my poor son crying. And eventually that place brought me to tears, having me there all day not telling me anything until the very end of the day giving me a lot of problems about giving me a loaner car and only pulling some string and giving me a car seeing that Im stuck there with a fed up toddler. No one helping me, no one cared the first time it broke, now I do not feel safe in this car. I also want money back from the time I spent without a working car. I pay so much money for my time lost sitting on the phone and being transferred from person to person to tell me they cannot help me, calling corporate for them to transfer me from person to person for an hour me explains my issues over and over again to different people for them to tell me someone will call me that can help me in 3-5 business days!!! Are they crazy?! I dont want this car. I dont want to deal with anyone from Hyundai anymore!!! Im fed up, my family is fed up. I have never had so many problems with a car or with customer service as I do with this Hyundai Tucson limited! Im disgusted with the way I have been treated and I cannot believe Im still in this unsafe car that supposedly was fixed. A car that ** off like this after 2 months of driving it brand new is not a safe car and is not worth $466 a month! PS. There is a lot more to all this but I wanted to make it as short as possible. Bottom line me and my baby were put in unsafe position twice and no one does anything about it!

I bought a Hyundai I20 from Hyundai Culemborg - Cape Town. I took delivery on 30 July 2011.There was a noise coming from the steering and I informed the dealer. The noise got worse as I drove the vehicle.I was told to take my car to another dealer and they told me to take it back to Culemborg to sort out. I was then told to book my car into Milnerton, Cape town, which was inconvenient for me.Something was only done when I took my car into the dealer on Saturday, 10 September and asked for the manager.Eventually, my car was collected on 14 September. I was told it would take a day to sort out.I was then called on 10 September to say the part will only be arriving on 26 September and I would get my car by the 26 or 27 of September.I was offered a replacement car to use in the meantime, but an automatic was delivered. I do not drive automatic so I asked for a replacement which was brought to me.The two left hand doors dont line up either.Surely, a new car should not have these problems. These cars should be checked before arriving at the dealers, and clearly, this vehicle has not been checked correctly.I am paying a lot of money for a new car, which does not seem new. A new car should not need to have a part replaced! I am very dissatisfied with the entire experience of buying a new car at Hyundai. I requested a new car and was told I would not get one.I will be taking this matter further.

Hyundai has figured out how to make their customer pay for Hyundais bad engineering. They charge you 6,000 dollars for a new engine that failed from their bad engineering. The engine that cost them 900 dollars. Great customer support make money from your customer because of your fault. I own a 2004 Hyundai Elantra. My engine/Powertrain warranty is 10 years/100,000 miles. As you can see, my car engine is covered until 2014. Also, my car has only 39,000 miles on it. I service it every 3000 miles and take really good care of the vehicle both inside and out. On Sunday, October 16th 2011, we were driving home from Wildwood, NJ when the nightmare began. According to Hyundai, the engine thermostat broke which in turn overheated the radiator; which in turn overheated the engine, causing engine damage. This whole process took only moments and before we could react, the car died and shut-off in the middle of Route 55! Since the car would not start, we had the car towed to Turnersville Hyundai which was the closest to us. We were prepared for some repairs but nothing related to our engine. We assumed that if any engine damage did exist, it would be covered under the 10-year warranty under which we have 100% engine protection not according to Hyundai. So the next day, Hyundai told us that they would not repair the engine even though it is under warranty. The reason they could not repair it is labeled consumer neglect. They said that we ran the car with the engine hot so it was our fault that it died. We had no idea all this was going to occur because our car never had a problem. If we were aware that the car was overheating we certainly would stop and turn the car off. We are currently trying to resolve this issue but Hyundai will not honor their warranty. For us to repair the car on our own will be at least $1000.00 to start and we cannot afford that. What is it to Hyundai (a multi-trillion dollar company) to put either new parts or a new engine in our car. Oh, by the way, this is the forth Hyundai I bought over the years. I dont think I will be buying another one anytime soon. Please help! They wont help me now, Im stuck with a car

My experience with Hyundai is once again worst than the last. It is my 3rd disappointment with them and last, I just came out of a 3 year lease and decided I wanted to buy the car and instead of showing me my options through Hyundai Finance which I was leasing with they convinced me with lies about how being I didnt use the car much, I would have to pay more and convinced me to go with Chase auto loan, after a few days I called Hyundai Finance and the person on the phone told me, I should have bought through them which would have been close to 8k less, through Hyundai finance it would have ranged around 9k plus maybe 3k in taxes and instead now I will end up paying close to 18k.It is my 3rd and final deal with them, no one there is honest and they are out just to rob you, I should have gone with my gut and listened to my cousin and end my lease and bought through Carvana, I wish I knew the info I got from the person on the phone earlier but I thought I was dealing with honest people, anyways God bless them and everyone reading this and make sure you always ask all the right questions and if you have to take time or reschedule to review things before you commit to it or sign documents, do so, so you dont get trapped and tricked like I did.

On May 17, 2012, I purchased two Hyundai cars - a 2012 Sonata and a 2012 Accent. When I tried to register as the owner on their website, I got the message: Email address already entered. I tried to reset my password approximately 15 times and when I would try to log on using the password they sent, I would get the message: Incorrect email or password. I talked to Hyundai representatives many times with no success. I found out the dealer where I purchased the cars had entered my email address wrong and only they could change it. I also found out they had entered a PIN and a security question which I knew nothing about. Now, after about fifteen phone calls, they refuse to talk to me.They say it is my computer but I have tried on three different computers and have run Microsoft diagnostics on my computer without any problems. I can log onto their financial website without problems as well as all other secure sites. At this point, they will not answer my emails or phone calls. I cannot log on to blue link, and I cannot register as owner of the Accent. They claim that they can log on using my email and the reset password. I dont believe they are being truthful.
