Hyundai Automobile Model 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid combines strong fuel economy, roomy three‑row capability, and rugged styling in a versatile midsize SUV.

It uses a 1.6 L turbocharged inline‑4 paired with an electric motor and a 6‑speed automatic transmission. The combined output is around 227 hp and 258 lb‑ft of torque. Acceleration from 0–60 mph takes approximately 7.8 seconds. Fuel economy reaches about 36–38 mpg combined depending on drive and trim configuration.

The hybrid setup is available in SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy trims with optional all‑wheel drive. AWD units lose a bit of efficiency, averaging around 34 mpg combined. Towing capacity climbs to about 3,500 lb when equipped with the towing package.

Inside, it seats five or seven (second‑row captain’s chairs optional). Generous interior volume provides around 14.6 cu ft behind the third row, about 40.5 cu ft behind row two, and up to around 79.6 cu ft with both rear rows folded. Legroom is spacious with about 44 inches up front and roughly 42 inches in the second row. Third‑row space is tighter with around 30 inches available.

Tech and user features include dual curved 12.3‑inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fingerprint unlock, dual wireless charging pads, and ambient LED lighting are offered on higher trims. Safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop‑and‑go, lane‑centering, blind‑spot monitoring, rear cross‑traffic alert, forward collision mitigation, and multi‑angle surround‑view cameras.

The ride is composed and confident. SEL rides comfortably, while Calligraphy adds air suspension on AWD models for a smoother highway experience. Steering feels precise and feedback is solid for daily driving. Interior materials are generally high quality with suede, leather, and soft‑touch trim in upscale trims.

Pricing in the U.S. starts in the mid‑$40K range for the SEL trim and climbs to the high‑$50Ks for the AWD Calligraphy. Calligraphy trim showcases premium touches like Nappa leather, ambient lighting, and a Bose premium stereo. In Canada, pricing begins around mid‑C$40Ks for SEL Hybrid and approaches C$52‑55K for AWD Calligraphy.

Real‑world feedback praises its mix of hybrid efficiency, family‑friendly cabin space, and strong value. Critics note the third row is best for kids or short trips and fuel economy drops slightly when fully loaded or towing. The hybrid powertrain delivers adequate power for daily driving though heavy acceleration emphasizes transmission shift transitions.

Overall the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid is a compelling choice for buyers seeking a spacious, family‑ready SUV with strong fuel economy, modern tech, and available AWD capability in a rugged, well‑appointed package.

2017 Hyundai Tucson started on fire...then exploded...twice. Totaled. No collision, no maintenance issues prior. Driving down the interstate the engine started revving, smoking and then flames. The entire front of my car is gone. No one was hurt, but I will never get in another Hyundai. Ever.

I am at this point, a thoroughly dissatisfied customer with Hyundai. I leased this Hyundai 2016 Plug In Hybrid car from Hyundai in 2016 Feb and had a very good experience with the car all this while. I had been using the car for my 70 mile daily commute and loved the car. Then on May 18th, my car had problems - it refused to start in my office parking lot. I called the Hyundai dealership and they told me to get the car towed in so they can take a look. The car was brought in to the Hyundai service center. 3 days later, the diagnosis was that the hybrid battery needs to be replaced. The service technician expected to get the replacement battery in 5 days. 5 days later, no updates. I kept following up for the next 3 weeks, and still no updates. I finally escalated the matter to their consumer affairs department. They took two weeks to investigate, and came back with an offer to pay me a compensation amount, while I waited for the car to get fixed. The update they gave me then was that the car will be fixed by July 15th. By July 15th, they had no actual progress! And now, the latest update is that they will fix the car by August 21st! I am really disappointed that Hyundai has shown no interest in getting this fix expedited despite the fact that its already 2 months plus. A one year old car, in warranty, is just sitting idle in the service shop, waiting for a critical part! I have sworn off Hyundai for my life and would never recommend anyone to buy another Hyundai car ever again!!!

I recently took my car into Tuscaloosa Hyundai which is nearing the 60,000-mile original warranty and discovered that the new car warranties offered are limited. Did you know that the A/C system is only covered for one year? All of the systems in the car have different warranties so the 60,000-mile thing is just a scam. At 60,000 miles you are required to have certain services done for your so called million mile warranty to be valid and it is very costly. I assume that as you progress your mileage there will be more costly charges to continue your warranty. I just wanted to make the public aware that you are not getting a full bumper to bumper warranty. Whoever heard of a 1-year warranty on an A/C? On some systems, you have to pay for the parts while you are under warranty. This was never disclosed to me during my purchase of this vehicle. You can look the new car warranty up online and it says Limited new car warranty. I thought a warranty was a full warranty but this is not the case. My suggestion is buy a car with a real warranty, not a Hyundai.

My brand new 2022 leased Hyundai Tucson is quoted to get up to 35 mpg on Hyundais website. I have proof of 14-16 mpg. Dealership wont look at car because a Light isnt on. Manager hung up and general manager said call Hyundai. Another option was to face penalty to turn the lease in and pay to lease another. This car is a lemon and you cant get any help.

07 Santa Fe problems after 60,000 miles. Oh, where to start? Well, even before the 60,000 mile mark, we were wearing out a second set of tires (3rd set came around 66K). After 60K, both front ball joints needed replacing along with steering arm (front left). Then a host of electrical problems. March 2012 had alternator and battery replaced. Check engine light has been on continuously for over a year. Dealership scanned, no codes. Ignored light ever since. Now, alternator failed again. Returned to shop where previous alternator was installed, thinking that was the problem. Nope. Oil leaked from valve cover gasket onto alternator, shorting it out. Well, I already had it towed from point where it died to this shop, not going to have it towed again for $85 or so to nearest Hyundai dealer, who may or may not conclude that the gasket replacement is a warranty item (79,000 miles and I am original owner). Hyundai customer service is not helping. Usual corporate gibberish e-mails and saying that warranty claims must be handled through a dealer, which I agree with. My contention is that the 3.3 liter V6 engine has a ton of consumer complaints regarding this gasket leakage issue and that Hyundai shouldve issued a recall notice. But its a costly repair as far as labor, so chumps like me are stuck with the bill unless a dealer wants to submit a claim. I worked for a Hyundai tier 1 supplier in Alabama in 2005 and it was true then, keeping costs down was priority one. I am convinced Hyundai uses parts thatll last just long enough to make 60K miles, then consumers are on their own. Cant believe I traded an Accord (high mileage with no issues whatsoever) for a Sonata (our other car). Gonna get rid of the Sonata before 60K for sure. My advice, if buying a Hyundai, get an extended warranty too (I did not), but go over the fine print and see what it covers.

I own a 2012 Hyundai Accent. It never has attained 40 MPG as advertised and stated on my car window sticker when purchased. A Class Action lawsuit was filed and reported settled in Feb 2013 and I am awaiting results. My experience with Hyundai has been the worst experience of any car company, and I am 61 years old. They are rude and arrogant. I will never own another Hyundai or Kia product... Ever!

Hyundai claims to have Americas best warranty but if you read the fine print youll find out otherwise. Three of the five cars Ive owned as an adult have been Hyundai cars. I liked the warranty and the service, however I have never once with all the servicing Ive had on my cars had their warranty cover anything. Recently I had a transmission problem on my car and I found out that not only am I not covered for 100,000 miles or 10 years as they like to advertise, Im not even covered for 60,000 or 5 years. My car has about 56,000 miles on it and they are not covering anything at this point.Hyundai loves to advertise their amazing 100,000 or 10 year power train warranty, but that only applies to the original owner. The second someone else owns the car it drops down to almost half the mileage (60,000) or 5 years, whichever comes first. It wouldnt be as infuriating if they had not been so vocal about their warranty the whole time. They told me over and over again about the coverage and how great the warranty is. The second youre outside the life of the warranty though things will start falling apart. Its happened with every Hyundai Ive owned. This is the last Hyundai I will ever own.

I have leased 2011 Genesis Coupe Vehicle id: **, returned car last December
I have leased 2011 Genesis Coupe Vehicle id: **, returned car last December (2013), after I received an invoice with $400 dispossession fee. I called to dispute this charge since we couldnt remember any reference to this charge; I asked for the copy of the lease. The lease did show the fee next to the column with the total amount. However, the charge shows as the total amount rather than a separate charge. After few attempts and being on hold for long period of time, the recovery department was not willing to consider the circumstances and make an adjustment or to handle us as valued customers. Rather, they made disingenuous comments like we do not make any exceptions and no one ever receive credit for this fee was an answer I received from one of the customer service representatives. The recovery department did not show any sign of sympathy or understanding and furthermore, did not show signs of any of willingness to negotiate or to hear us out to consider the situation.I have leased 2 other cars from Infinity and we had same issue with dispossession fee. After presenting the issue with our points to the finance department they have reduced it down by more than 50%. This is an example of companies who are willing to help their customers and promote them to stay loyal to their brand willingness to compromise. And here are the points of my argument: 1. Hyundai or the dealer did not highlight the fees term, or made it noticeable at any time prior to this invoice. 2. We have returned the car with substantial lower mileage (25,419 instead of 36,000). 3. We were told by Hyundais Finance department that the fee would be waived if we leased or purchased another Hyundai vehicle. 4. We will be leasing or purchasing 2 vehicles in the near future (90 days).5. Customer satisfaction.I believe its fair to consider waiving or at least substantially reduce the fee for the compelling reasons mentioned above. Unfortunately the recovery department failed to acknowledge and handle the issue in a business manner. Thus, I am writing this letter to try and correct a problem before it changes our mind on Hyundai as car we purchase.

Wifes auto started to act funny on way home from work as started to lose power and all lights on dash lit up. She was able to pull over to side of road and called me to come jump her as we thought the battery was dead as everything came on. We didnt recall anything about roadside assistance since it happened a short distance from home but thought that our regular mechanic could tow us and report what the problem was. He found out that the alternator was bad causing the battery to go dead and replaced the alternator from Hyundai in Rockford, IL. He gave me the old one as there was no aftermarket alternator available and thought the warranty would cover the cost since the car is less than three years old and only has 34,000 miles on it. We looked at all the paperwork in our box when we purchased the car and found we were covered by Hyundais warranty and had purchased a Titanium package or Advantage package as well that also covers things such as the alternator. I called the sales department to talk to the person who sold us the car but he no longer works at the dealership. I was directed to the service manager and sent attachments of the repairs and he talked to his representative who said he could not reimburse us for the repairs as he did not have the means to do that. The service manager gave us customers relations to contact and a case number was given: **. I talked to Shana the second time in customer relations but she would not discuss reimbursement nor answer or compromise about anything. I asked the cost of towing to the nearest Hyundai facility, hourly labor rate, cost of rental and cost of replacement of part as well as inconvenience on such a cold day/night but was not given any information except none of the repairs would be covered because a Hyundai dealership did not perform the repairs. I would imagine the cost of the repairs that I paid were far less than the expense written off by Hyundai, but they will not talk about any compromise or reimbursement. I guess I have to have a lawyer give me some assistance in this matter as I am disabled and on a fixed income so every penny is important to me.

Bought this car 2nd hand from a dealer. Car had low mileage and was in great shape. Two weeks after we bought it with a 3rd party warranty, we found out we could can barely put gas in it. Also we had to get the fuel level sensors replaced because we never knew how much gas we had. We have talked to the dealership we bought it from. They said they couldnt fix anything because we bought it as is. It may take up to 30 minutes to put a half a tank in. Recently we had to take it to a different dealership because the alternator went out which was caused by a leaking valve cover which they replaced the front valve cover and the alternator at no cost. But didnt change the back valve cover which was still leaking as well. Which I would have been more than glad to pay for. Also one day after we got it out the shop now the drivers side floor board is full of water because of something leaking from the sunroof. Which there have been so many complaints about these issues. But all the consumers get stuck footing the bill.

Secret room scam artists. Leased a car for my daughter in 2011.. When the lease was up we went to buy the car out due to the overmileage on the car and decided she really liked the car. After showing her this fabulous 2014 car they made a very appealing deal to her and she agreed to lease again. They bought her car and said they would pay the overmileage on the car and she is free and clear to lease a 2014. Ohh wait.... You want to keep the same payment??? Well then they said you have to put 1800$ down in order to keep payments where they were... Wait let me speak to my manager...Away to the secret back room to see if deal can be made but first initial this to show what you want your payment to be... Huh? Umm ok? (Btw my husband and I own 5 vehicles and the only place that has a secret back room is Hyundai in Dickson city).Ok long story short she signed and gave them $1800 for this 2014 Hyundai Elantra. 1 month later I got a letter stating I owed the overmileage on the 2011 Hyundai bought back off me to get me into the 2014. When I called Greg (my sales guy) he said he talked to Ray and it was simple mistake, not to worry, its all taken care of. We bought your car, therefore we paid your overmileage...Month 2 I get a second notice that my account on the 2011 is past due with interest $1592.27... Husband and I personally went up and again Ray, max Carlos, never came out of the secret back room but again I was assured it was taken care of, we bought your car... Yet no manager had the time to come out of hiding in the secret room. Finally a collections agency calls me and tells me I am placed in collections for an unpaid balance of the overmileage on my 2011 Elantra! They advised me to go to the dealership and advise them they need to either cut me a check for this amount or be on a conference call with me to clear this up.My husband and I go to dealership and demanded to get on a conference call with the cowards hiding in the back and was denied. I repeatedly kept asking for Carlos to please come out of hiding and talk to us like adults and make the call at the desk we were at. We were then told he couldnt because his computer was different and showed more info than the ones on front. Umm ok? So we said fine we will go in the back where Carlos is and use his phone and computer screen to straighten this out. Ok heres the best part... We were told Its very busy and dangerous back there. My husband responds.. Is there a car on a jack waiting to fall on our heads??!He absolutely denied us a conference call and our issues werent resolved until 2 days later when I contacted the collections agency and told them what I experienced... She immediately called them.. Had me on line and spoke with Carlos who agreed to pay my overmileage like he should have in the first place! Bottom line its a very shady place and they are hiding something or that conference call would have not been a problem!I have never ever been to a dealership like this and dont plan on ever going back... Except with my attorney if I get one more letter. I plan on contacting the attorney generals office, Better Business Bureau (oh wait they were already reported to them) and vow to never ever do business with them again. I never once got an apology but surprisingly they expected me to thank them for trying to help lol. Ummm thanks?

I have paid Hyundai by monthly electronic transfer for years. I do not like to commit to automatic for all the obvious reasons. Because Hyundai has been using Western Union (Hyundai is the only company I pay electronically that has chosen to use Western Union) they now want to pass on to the consumer $3.95 on each occasion to offset what they are paying Western Union. I may send in a check, costing me 50 cents, and they feel that can process that check without a $3.95 fee. In the future I will research credit practices prior to another car purchase OR in the final deal I will look to extract 48 x 3.95 - almost $200 out of the final number.

I had my inner CV boots replaced which were under warranty. After Hyundais service department fixed the inner CV boots, my car broke down about 2.5 weeks later (it seemed like a transmission problem). I had to have the car towed. They claimed they fixed something, without giving me any detailed information and it broke down again 1 week later (I had the same exact feeling of the transmission when it broke down, where I had to have it towed again - this is very frustrating and is extremely dangerous! The service manager informed me that the axle was broken on the first time it was in and it was fixed. The second time around I received numerous answers on what was wrong. They have claimed to fix the accelerator now, but there are several new problems. I did not have one issue with my car before taking it in to Hyundai for service. Now, we cannot figure what is wrong exactly because the computer seems to be malfunctioning. I have had the spark plugs and wires replaced.

I have recently just got a used 2013 Hyundai Elantra with 32,000 miles for my birthday. This review isnt necessarily a bad one. Every once in a while when I turn on my car for the first time of the day, it makes this short, medium pitched whistling sound, and it only last for about one second or less, the noise doesnt really bother me, it just concerns me that something may be wrong with my car. I have saw some complaints about the same thing, and they said that they took it to the dealer and they said it was normal. I have yet to take my car to the dealer, as I have no time at the moment, but I do plan to take it as soon as I do have some time. By the way, Ive only had the car for about 1 month and a half. Also on a side note: the dealership we went to in Concord, NC is RUDE. Do NOT go there for a car.

I took my 2013 Genesis in for a recall and was talked into trading it in and leasing a new Tucson. I then read that if I were to total the leased vehicle, I would be out the equity from my Genesis as the insurance would pay them, not me. I said, If I rent an apartment and it burns down, I will NOT get the money, the OWNER will! So they kept saying that wasnt true and were angry but brought my Genesis back and I left, forgetting I had given them my title (free and clear). When I realized this, I called and they said they would send the title. It has been a week and I dont think Ill be getting it. I realize I shouldve done my homework first and avoided this embarrassing situation, but I am looking to trade in and buy a vehicle from them after a vacation Im planning. I told them this but still no title. Also, they just brought my vehicle in a huff and I didnt sign anything so Im hoping I dont get screwed worse than losing my title. Consumers please beware when buying Hyundai car. I bought Hyundai Sonata 2011 in June 2014 and the car is a piece of crap. So far I have this car almost 2 years and I already spent tons of money fixing it. Something is always wrong with it. The electrical, the gas, the brake, the fuel line... In addition I received 3 different recalls notices that the car is not safe to drive... Really 3 recalls in less than 2 years? What the **??? I have not even driven 100,000 miles or 5 years on this car yet and have spent thousands of dollars fixing the piece of JUNK/GARBAGE. So stay clear from this brand and do your homework thorough. Dont just Google it because they paid lots of advertisements money to be on top of the search page so all you see is great things about this piece of CRAP. Instead looking at buyers comments on various websites, or ConsumerAffairs to get a real picture and its condition before you buy. Personally, they LOST me as a customer forever. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HYUNDAI AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW ABOUT THIS. Very angry Hyundai car buyer.

I recently called/Hyundai roadside assistance, noticing that it included towing. My vehicle has a flat tire, and at this point I don’t have a ton of extra money. I live 200 feet away from a Firestone tire, a relative helped by purchasing the tire I needed and Firestone said they would install it. All I have to do is get the vehicle or the wheel over there. Well Hyundai Veloster don’t come with a spare tire or jack. So I can’t jack the car up and take the wheel off, this didn’t seem like a problem knowing I had roadside assistance. Well roadside assistance will not hold me across the street where I already have a fully paid tire waiting, they would however bring me to a Hyundai dealer but they are non-local to me. I was told by the tow company that exceptions can be made so I spent time on the phone with Hyundai’s customer service just so that they could tell me no. I can assure you after customer service like this I will never return to Hyundai again. This is a lack of compassion for their consumers, I understand you want me to be brought to a Hyundai dealer so the dealer can make the money on the tire and installation, but in my particular situation you should’ve okayed a tow across the street; don’t buy a Hyundai thinking you have someone there for you when you need it. You don’t.

Just needed to let you know if ever you decide to buy a car, I suggest you buy it from Hyundai. Let me tell you why from my own experience - I bought an Elantra GLS 2013, from Hyundai Gatineau. Now wait, just wait till I tell you why you should not. After I bought my car. First of all, I get a letter saying that every year to go to where I bought my car and they will reimburse a credit card to pay the difference in gas because something about the consuming of gas is not ok, that the car should not drink so much gas. Then one yr later, getting ready to go to the States with 3 other persons and fill up my car with gas, so here I am all ready to go. Guess what, my car does not start, the radio works, the lights works, the battery is not dead so my son says, Mom, I have no idea what the hell is happening here.So I call CAA. He comes and says, Sorry, Miss, but need to take your car to the dealership garage. I tell him, But it is closed, so he tells me, I guess you will have to wait till Monday. So trip to the State, motel, friends waiting, everything down the drain. So Monday comes, me being really pissed off, I call and tell them that I am very upset with what happened and the answer was, Well, Miss we will call you and let you know what is wrong and this could happen at any dealership - no excuse. So they call me later and said, Your car is ready. You can come and pick it up, and I said, Well, I dont have a ride. He says, Well, cant you get someone to drive you? I replied, Hey, this is your responsibility. You get someone to take care of it. So he got someone to pick me up. Still pissed off, tell the guy this is the first time that I buy a brand new car and have so much issues with a car. He just looked at me like I was just a number, so I leave, get in my car and see my gas gauge. It was half full of gas, so I get out of my car and now really, really pissed off and go back inside to tell them about it and again Well, Maam, we did not drive your car. So I go and see the Manager. He brings me to see the Manager of the repair shop and looked at me like I was lying. Holy ** was I mad, so I said, I want to file a complaint, so they give me the number of Hyundai Canada. I call and tell them about what happened and yes by now, I am burning up OK. The lady at Hyundai Canada says she is sorry about what happened but We can offer you a gift for your inconvenience. I said of course yes, thinking this might be rewarding. Holy crap, I thought I was going to hit the roof. You just cannot believe what they offered me. This is truly what they offered me, a choice between a mug, a tuque, or a water bottle. I said to myself, Are you really that stupid to offer me such a gift after what I went through? I just said, Really, you can keep your gift, and hung up. True story, believe me. This is what I think about Hyundai Gatineau, Hyundai Canada, (NOTHING GOOD). Oh yea forgot to tell you what the problem was. It was a default in the wiring from the motor to the starter. I am 59 yrs old and have bought cars before and never and I mean never had issues like this. I have seen the complaints in the reviews and could not believe how many there was and nothing is being done about this. A guy needs a lawyer to deal with his problem. This is ridiculous. Why should this guy pay for a lawyer when there are so many complaints about Hyundai? What do we need to do for something to be done? You should allow us to return the car and get our money back so we can go to another dealer to buy another car. LOOK at the reviews about Hyundai and do something about it. Now I dont feel safe in my brand New car which does not make any sense at all. YES, I AM REALLY, REALLY PISSED OFF.

We purchased a new 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The car is still under warranty. In 2020 my wife called and said the oil light was on. I told her to pull over and check the oil. She said there was no oil on the stick. She added two quarts of oil and it was still below the low mark on the stick. I did research and found several class action lawsuits against Hyundai regarding faulty engines dating back to approx. 2010. Here we are 8 years later and dealing with the same issue. We called our dealership and they said we needed bring in the car for an oil consumption test. They changed the oil and charged us for it. The oil consumption test consist of returning to the dealership every thousand miles for 3000 miles so they can check how much oil the engine is using. The final result was the engine burns 3/4 quarts of oil per 1000 miles and that is considered normal by Hyundai.Hyundai recommends changing oil every 7500 miles. This means we will need to add 6 quarts of oil to the car between oil changes. Again this car is under warranty and Hyundai calls this normal. We were told however, Hyundai does sell a $600 product we could add to the oil and perhaps it would consume less oil. The bottom line is I have a car under warranty, using 6 quarts of oil between oil changes and this is normal. My 2006 Chrysler Town and Country has 314,000 miles on it. I change the oil every 7000 miles. I add 1 quart of oil between oil changes.Simply put, do not buy a Hyundai product. Take a look on the internet and you will see a long history of engine issues that continue to plague Hyundai owners. I called Hyundai and talked to Lindsay. She was a snobby customer service rep. who told me I needed to talk to Walser to get anything done to repair this car. So goes the circle. Keep an eye open as I assume there will be another class action suite soon.

Drove an hour from my home to Stockbridge, Massachusetts and left my keys on my car seat only to return and found out I was locked out. I called Hyundai roadside service and was told it would be 58 minutes for service to arrive. I waited an hour and called again and the automated response said the driver was 3 minutes away. I waited another 15 minutes and called and got a Hyundai live person and he told me that the service company 911 was 3 minutes away. Here’s where Hyundai roadside service failed. After waiting almost 2 hours I called and they told me that the service company canceled the work order to unlock my car because it was not their area. I was furious at this point and asked what do I do. After another 2 hours I received a call that a roadside assistance vehicle would come from Lenox, Mass. Will be there in approximately 5 hours. At this point I had to call my son to bring me another set of keys. It took him over 3 hours for a round trip run. It was either that or break my window a bill Hyundai. I will reconsider buying another vehicle that claims it offers roadside service.

I own a 2013 Hyundai Veloster, first new car Ive ever purchased. My vehicle roof corroding due to poor manufacturing. Long story short Ive done the whole process for approval with the dealer (Ron **) and Hyundai claims the corrosion coverage is only 3/36. This is not what my owners manual says. It states 7/unlimited miles. Ive contacted Hyundai so-called customer care on now 5 different occasions. NONE of the people I have spoke with have ever contacted me back with resolution. The customer care line is a huge waste of time. No one there is capable of answering any question. They dont know their own manufacturers policy and procedures. It is appalling that Hyundai even claims them as customer care. Furthermore my 3-year-old vehicle should not have a roof that is corroding. Its super frustrating to be told that you cannot talk to anyone who can help. All I wanted was the time of day and someone to assist me with my concern. Instead I got the runaround for a month. A huge headache, super frustrated, no call back from anyone ever, and worst of all no answers. Do not buy any Hyundai product as they do not honor or even know their warranty policy. I will be heard on this concern as no one deserves to be treated like this.

I purchased a brand new 2016 Hyundai Sonata in March of 2016. In December 2017 the cars power steering suddenly failed without warning. I took it into my local Hyundai dealer who saw no issue with the vehicle. In March of 2018 the power steering failed again on a busy highway and my children and myself narrowly escaped being hit by a tractor trailer. Finally the dealership ran a test and said the EPS system needed to be replaced. I contacted Hyundai consumer department to file a complaint and was treated very rudely. At first they refused to offer a loaner vehicle for the time my car would be out for repairs but the dealership worked a deal out with Enterprise. I have had it to the dealer several times to be told “nothing is wrong”. They tell me they are aware of the problem but until Hyundai does something to fix the issue their hands are tied. My wife purchased a 2006 NEW Hyundai Sonata. We have always been avid AM News Listeners and from day 1 the radio was worse than Poor for AM. We complained and complained and all they ever said was that the antenna in the rear window was a poor design for an antenna and that was the problem. Well, my wife just purchased a New 2014 Hyundai Sonata and I took the 2006 - since I drive far less miles annually - and now I was determined to get to the problem. When I would drive the car sometimes going over a bump on the road would instantly increase the radios reception but it would last then go back to crappy again. Sometimes as I would start the car and back out of the garage the reception would be great - then 5 minutes later it was back to crap. One day, in the garage, as I was backing out - the reception was jumping back and forth from Poor - Good - Poor to Good - so I whacked the dashboard over the radio with my hand and there was DEAD SILENCE. I turned the car off and then back on and the radio came on but with the typical Weak reception.I purchase the Haynes/Chilton Auto Repair Guide, for the 2006 Hyundai as well a CD Hyundai Shop Manuals, and watched several YouTube videos on how to remove the radio. With the radio removed and exposed - but connected - I started wiggling/moving the antenna cable around and sure enough the reception would go to Great - Poor - and NONE. As I was holding the radio with one hand and changing the station with the other hand I also noticed that if my hand squeezed or put pressure on the top and bottom of the radio - on the Antenna connection side - (in order to hold the radio) the Reception might also go from Great to Poor to None.I could see that the antenna cable connector was CHEAP looking with the center core of the cable soldered - but the Ground wires were crimped and DID NOT look there was a good connection. So I went to Radio Shack and purchased another Motorola Antenna Connector and re-did the connection to the cable. With the radio still exposed and the antenna cable connected with the new Radio Shack connector the radio sounded great. And squeezing didnt seem to have any effect as before. So I put the radio back in and left the pods on the sides of the radio disconnected - temporarily. The measured depth of the New Radio Shack Connector was slightly Longer than the original Cable Connector so it was putting some pressure on the cable and the connection and the radio began to act -up again when installed so I removed the radio (which removed the pinching pressure on the cable) and the radio worked fine.So now it is possible that there is a bad connection, internally, on the Female part of the Antenna cable connection to the radio. I tested the continuity for the Ground and hot points to the cable connection - while I had the radio out and they tested OK - but the test was not under a pressure stress, either. So the bottom line is that Hyundai Continues to LIE and ** about the AM Radio Problems with the 2006 Sonatas. Unlike the most recent excuse from Hyundai Service at Lester Glenn in Toms River, New Jersey, the problem is NOT with the Rear Window-Designed Antenna - its the cheap Connectors, Crappy Radios and the ** Service people who dont want to do their job of fixing your car under warranty. My wife took out the 100,000 miles / 10 year Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty with Hyundai when she bought the car so now - After 6-8 Hours of MY TIME and the expenses to buy workshop materials - I am going to raise Hell with Hyundai USA!

I bought a 2013 Elantra about 2 years ago... One day I was simply driving down the street and my car stalled out and applied the brakes by itself and I nearly got in a wreck. I called my boyfriend (a mechanic) and he came to where I was and drove the car home to see if he could figure out what was going on. The next day I took it to Hyundai of Muskogee. The car thankfully did repeat the stalling and braking by itself for the mechanic working on the car. However they could never get the car to pull a code as I was told. They had my car for 7 days. They told me it was my tires so they put 4 new tires on this car.A few months later the car did the same thing again... stalled and applied the brakes by itself... so again I put 4 new tires on the car. Both times this happened I was only driving down the road at about 35mph. The last straw was when the car again did this with my daughter driving and cause dont her to have a wreck. (I had tried to get the car in two weeks before this occurred and was told by Hyundai they couldnt get it in right now and they did not have a loaner car) I told them what was happening and left my # for them to please call asap when they got a car in. 2 weeks later I had not heard from them and the accident happened. Not trusting Hyundai of Muskogee at this point I drove it to Hyundai of Tulsa. I drove it there the very next day without calling or making an appointment and told the manager of automotive what had happened. They provided me a car and he was told he couldnt touch the car until an investigation was done on the car.6 MONTHS LATER I finally got an email telling me basically nothing was wrong with the car and they would not do anything about it!!! Im beyond furious! As far as I know they only pulled codes on the car and the codes were sent in. No one from the investigation team even test drove the car!!! I will never deal with this company again! Horrible customer service! After all I have been through and waiting for 6 months on my car they couldnt even spell my name right on the email I received! How unprofessional! I would never recommend this car nor this company. I have been investigating and there are 1000s of complaints on this car. The company is aware and last I read there are no recalls on this car.

I have a 2009 Santa Fe with 40,000 miles. While driving 8 hours in the rain on a road trip, the paint started flying off my hood and roof in huge chunks. I have never had an accident or a chip in the paint. The repair shop called to report they are having problems fixing the original paint loss because more keeps coming off. Now it looks like a complete new paint job will be required. Hyundai says the warranty is up at 35,000 miles for paint. The paint job is obviously defective from the factory; however my attempt to file a claim with Hyundai led nowhere. Picture is from before it went to the shop and more paint came off the roof, hood and doors.

I own a 2006 Hyundai Tucson that I purchased new and have been nothing but happy with it ever since. I have read many complaints at this website, many of which seem to be against local dealerships. The dealership where I take mine for service is outstanding, friendly, fair, and knowledgeable. My Tucson has required various servicing through the years, mostly all wear and tear and regular use repairs or maintenance, as all vehicles need. I am very happy with my Tucson, the original warranty, and the service and treatment I receive from the dealership. I am 65 years old and have owned various cars in my lifetime, and some of the complaints I read here describe incidents that have happened to me with other vehicle makes and models in the past. Unfortunately, occasionally things can go very wrong. The common thread in these posts seems to be issues with the local dealerships. Communication is of utmost importance from both the dealer and the consumer when there are problems with vehicles. I will close by restating that I am very happy with my Hyundai vehicle and will definitely purchase it again. I highly recommend Hyundai to others.

In April 2018, 11 months after purchasing a new Hyundai Tucson, the transmission began hesitating and shuddering. I complained at Weimer Hyundai and was told to read the owner’s manual and watch some videos on YouTube. These did not address the issue but I was told repeatedly that was how that particular transmission behaved. Then between Jan 25 and Feb 5, 2019, I had 4 service appointments at Weimer to address 4 issues. The continuing transmission hesitation and shuddering now with skyrocketing RPMs, the AEB dash light and alert dings continuously going off, 20+second hesitation upon takeoff and when attempting to increase speed after slowing down or in stop and go traffic, and the driver door lock button malfunctioning. Nothing was repaired.I opened a complaint with Hyundai Customer Service and was told to take it to Jenkins Hyundai. After waiting for 3 weeks for a service appointment opening, on Mar 11, I was told it could be a safety issue if the AEB were in a crash/near crash situation and didn’t operate as designed. I was told a 2 different wiring harnesses were being ordered and that it should be in for the repair within the week and I would have a loaner car. They would call when the parts came in. After not hearing anything for several days, I talked to Hyundai Customer Service about the lemon law buyback. They said it would take 30 days to reach a decision. Finally they sent an email saying they would not do a buyback. Finally on April 8, my wife went to Jenkins and spoke with a sales manager who said he would call her back that afternoon with an update. He did not call. On April 9, my wife returned to Jenkins and spoke to a service manager who told her the wiring harnesses were on back order. He said a serious issue had also affected massive numbers of Subaru’s and that because of that all the mechanic appointments and loaner vehicles were booked for at least 4-6 weeks out. He said he would contact Hyundai Customer Service, a couple of dealerships 90+ minutes away and his own staff and prepare a plan. From this point he wanted to handle everything via email to create a paper trail. He said he would have everything ready by noon on April 10 and would call with the plan. Instead, he emailed a request for videos of the issues. By April 11, the A/C had stopped functioning properly and by April 12 even the date and time were not displaying on the dash or radio screen. My wife submitted all this information and several videos to them. DON’T buy a HYUNDAI!

The Veracruz was sold to us with faulty alignment. Unfortunately, it wasnt found until the one tire had no thread and wires were showing. The vehicle not even a year old! We contacted the dealer immediately and were told that they would not cover anything for us because we were 400 miles over the warranty! They finally agreed to do the alignment at no cost due to us fighting very hard, but let my husband drive out of their garage with a tire showing wires and extremely unsafe! They refused to put a new tire on the vehicle no matter what, even though it was their fault of the improper alignment! A multi-billion dollar company cant fork up the cost of a tire to make sure that their customer was safe in a vehicle that they bought from them that was faulty! My family of 5 were at great risk driving this vehicle not knowing that the car was unsafe! We contacted the service department several times and corporate offices and was told that it is our problem and then was hung up on! They werent going to help. How sick! We will never buy another Hyundai again in our lifetime. They are awful to deal with any type of customer service or issues with anything. They dont care about their customers or their safety and that is unacceptable! We could have easily had a blow out at any time with a family of 5 with 3 small children!

In January of this year (2017) I was on my way home from hockey when my engine failed. I was just turning onto the highway and beginning my acceleration when the engine just about stalled. I was only thankfully doing about 30 km/hr and put the vehicle into neutral and pulled over to the shoulder. I shut the engine off and got under the hood for visual inspection. Upon checking the Oil there was barely any registering on the dipstick (oil is checked during every refuel). Thankfully I carry 2 litres with me at all times. It took both of these to register on dipstick. I turned the engine back on and with no warning lights and smoother running engine, I carried on my way home keeping speeds less than 70 km/hr as the immediate lack of oil concerned me.About 5 minutes from home both engine and oil warning lights came on, and the vehicle was beginning to run rough again. Once home I again checked my oil and this time there was nothing on the dipstick. I left the vehicle in my garage until appointment at my Hyundai dealer. I do my own oil changes every 5,000 km with recommended full synthetic 5w30. The only leak I have ever found was a very small one around oil pan. The dealer inspected and concluded I require a new lower block and that without my receipts they wont honor the warranty.Having done some research online in days between failure and dealer appointment I found multiple accounts of the same failure happening, some within less than a 1,000 kms of having factory dealer oil change done. So when my service informed of no warranty coverage I asked how is that the cause of my failure and others too. Was given a shrug... So the quote for repairs was well beyond my financial means, having lost my job. The dealer had no additional options for me and left me feeling blamed and written off. Then out comes the 1.4 million vehicle recall outlining the possible failure that I experienced in January. I contacted Hyundai Customer service via email April 8, 2017, they responded with a question April 10, I replied and now all I can get is an auto-reply message. I called on April 12, and was told that my VIN falls within the date range affected and that was about it. Asked if I should contact dealer again and was told up to me. I have been without my vehicle since the failure occurred and now without any answers.

I bought this from a certified dealer in Myrtle Beach who told me the 10-year 100,00 was transferable to me. Otherwise, I wouldnt have bought it. Ive had problems with the airbag light. I took it to a different dealer who now charged me to fix it saying the wiring was bad under the passenger seat. The next evening, I went to move the car and put it in park and it started jumping and rolling backward. I put it in drive and went forward, put it in park and it did the same thing. I had to put the emergency brake on. I called the dealer. They cant get to the car for 3 days so I have nothing to drive, and to top it off, tell me I dont have any warranty. That Im going to have to pay for repairs. I look at the warranty info online from the Hyundai website and it says that warranties transfer over to new owners. I think this company is a sham and the dealers are worse, trying to rip us off. I am a single woman and feel like I am being ripped off many times over starting with the Myrtle Beach dealer. My mom has been a faithful customer of theirs for years and has purchased 7 cars, 5 of them being Sante Fes, from them in 9 years and has recommended them to many people. Today was my 5th call and now I am waiting to see if I get a confirmation of my cancellation like I was promised. I love my Hyundai and have owned them since 1997 but this treatment is enough to make me bad mouth them forever!!!

I purchased a Hyundai i20 Magna from Joshi Automobiles Mohali Punjab. At the time of delivery, several things were not provided to me though they said they’ll deliver it to me within few days. Even when I got my car insured from Joshi Showroom twice, every time, the insurance policy was sent after 6 months. Now, about the tire problem, the tires they provided me with the car were of zero quality. Just after 3 months, the tires got punctured not just one or two times. In fact, all tires were getting punctured twice or thrice a week. I lodged several complaints but there was no action taken by the dealer. Just for show cause, they issued me a fake inspection report.

Their cars will leave you on the side of the road one day with no help. If they promise something get it in writing. If they recall something it will go to banks mailbox not yours so you have to check recalls yourself. They tell you when you buy a vehicle they if they need to fix it they will give you a loaner vehicle when its broke down. No loaner is given with extended warranty. They find a way to avoid it. They say they reimburse you for rental vehicles. They dont even have a department that reimburses you. Get everything in writing. I can tell you right now every 5k miles alignment was off. My shocks struts only lasted 20k. Replaced 3 times now. Tires wearing wrong since owned. The vehicle dealer alignment doesnt fix it unless you get alignment every 2 oil changes. Air intake funnel before the filter isnt really attached. Just sits there in front of snorkel transmission.Shifts rough when its cold. Their tint they offer always bubbles. The air conditioning smells like mildew shortly after you drive off the lot and every 5k miles after they fix it. Not sure how they fix it but comes right back. The gas mileage they state only lasts 10k miles. After that its about 5 to 10 less even with recommended tire inflation. The paint is horrible. Chips and flakes at 30k. Wiper blades need replacing. Right when you buy the vehicle motors are noisy of the lot and only get worse. The hybrid battery needs replacing at 60k and depending on how often you drive it voids your warranty and if you dont keep more than 30 miles of gas in your car at all times it voids warranty. The first day I drove off the lot my back passenger door lock started buzzing really loud every time I went from park to drive or lock the doors and they had to order the part. Took 2 weeks to get it fixed from day I took it in. Inside cabin is super noisy of outside traffic noise and tires when getting up to freeway speeds. I should have took a test drive on freeway because that would have been a deal breaker. Thats about it. Cant wait to get out of this vehicle. 5 recalls in the first year feel like this car is always at the dealership service department.

My 2012 Hyundai Veloster has strong smell of gasoline inside of vehicle. Dealer states that this is normal with temps over 100 degrees and start and stop traffic, so they did nothing. I guess this means that it cannot be used from May through September in the Henderson/Las Vegas area, as the temp is always over 100. I cannot believe they think this is acceptable. Do not buy this car. The dealer did provide me with details stating this issue is normal. Im not sure where he got it, but it appears to be from Hyundai.

Hyundai is NOT committed to the safety of its owners. Despite a nationwide recall on my vehicle model (07 Sonata) due to malfunctioning air bag systems, the local dealership instead tried to blame my cars erratic air bag on/off indicator on an electronics short/seat belt issue and extort $360 from me to repair it. Calling the Hyundai Customer Care Center resulted in plenty of canned answers and false sympathy but no resolution. Very disappointed by the total lack of concern and support for this vital component; its not like Im trying to get a free upgrade or anything... just working airbags!! I guess thats too much to ask for Hyundai.

This is in regards to the Sonata that we had purchased. I want to start off
This is in regards to the Sonata that we had purchased. I want to start off by stating how extremely upset I am of how the entire experience has been since day one! We were mistreated and screwed due to negligence and lack of communication between dealership and the Hyundai Finance department when processing our loan to be financed. I have never dealt with such miscommunication on a very important investment purchase. I have contacted Hyundai Dealership and Finance center for the whole month of December, January, February and now March via email, phone and mail.I have over and over explained and have provided proof of documents that included harassing statements and letters that we were not qualified and we were required to return the vehicle immediately for the entire month of December and January (totaling a number of 4 letters)! We made numerous attempts to get in contact with assigned Financial Representative who was taking care of our loan and was also instructed per letters received as the main contact person. I have copies of all logged phone calls, emails, letters and conversations that were placed regarding this issue and after all the numerous attempts to have someone help us with Hyundais error created by Hyundai. We never received any management nor representative help ever, except one original email from Kyle ** (assigned financial rep) requesting that we provide additional income statements early in December, for Brandon **.I emailed Kyle and requested further explanation of what was going on regarding our loan funding because we had received letters from him and the agency stating we were declined. And now, here he is requesting additional income? I never ever received a response back from him nor call back or help from management in Hyundai dealership as no one was communicating if we were approved or not. Putting us in a dark room and no communication from anyone, I had requested that HR from our current employers would reach out to Kyle to verify any income information he needed so that the loan would be funded. Shortly after that request, I was informed per Human Resources representative at my company that they provided Kyle with all requested documentation and verified our income upon request. They also stated that they asked for several confirmation requests that verified all documents they had provided met underwriting guidelines for the loan and they never received a confirmation or response as well. In between that time, we received additional letters stating that we were still not qualified and other letters requesting the return of the vehicle immediately. After I realized that we would not get anywhere, holidays were now ruined because of this process and caused tremendous hardship to our family as we were forced to go purchase an additional vehicle after receiving declined letters and no communication Hyundai. After the purchase of the additional vehicle I was forced to buy, the 2013 Hyundai Sonata purchased was currently located in the dealership shopping center body shop after a car accident took place in between the 30-day period the car was in our possession. But is now not in our possession. We lost money in purchasing another vehicle as we were led to believe that we did not qualify. The first statement was sent to us towards the last days of January, it was dated way after the agreed first payment of Jan 5. So I called Hyundai Finance and was told we were qualified after all! I requested to speak to a supervisor as it was explained that the loan was not funded until Jan. 5th (way past the date loan should have been funded). Management had stated that the loan had to be rebooked due to Hyundai submitting loan approval late and incorrect.I then reached out to Hyundai Dealership and was finally contacted by Kyle and told that he and the manager were unable to do anything (which was the complete opposite of what Hyundai finance stated)! I then had stated I wanted my January payment waived per Hyundais error and all the money I have now lost due to this error. I stated I was still willing to keep car and make payments but needed that to be corrected - it was so simple and I was tossed around by Kyle and told they could do anything. I then spoke to management from Hyundai Finance on Feb. 19 and was told by management after I had explained the situation that they were going to make arrangements to amend the loan current and I was told they were going to remove my phone numbers from their system to avoid future collection calls. All my phone numbers were removed except for my work phone which I had told collection rep that they need to look at notes for Feb. 19 and reference. They stated that management never inputted notes. I am fed up by now. All this lying and mistreatment for no reason has now led me to anxiety and stress health issues that have now been noticed by my primary doctor and I was prescribed medical drugs in order to be able to handle the stress this has caused my family and me. I have had to come out of pocket on fees and deductibles for the repairs of 2013 Sonata due to me now being approved for loan, therefore making me responsible. I am not happy and think that there has to be an immediate solution to the inconvenience! Our lawyers suggestion is to return as requested per written notices and void all sales transaction deal per original mailed correspondence.I have proof of all attempts I tried and several people on my end had tried to make this process flow smoothly ... but it seems to have now gotten out of hand due to the irresponsibility and miscommunication within Hyundai company. This has now affected our credit and I am forced to take this to litigation and recover from all costs of damages and stress encountered from this entire process. I am requesting that someone step up to the plate as an associate from Hyundai, if you are reading this, to show some kind of respect for the rights of the consumer. Unfortunately, we live in a world that is so cold-hearted and full of effortless people who like the easier route of not going the extra mile for the customer, when dealing with their day to day job. But who is to forget, that customer could be you a couple of days from now; another company - another service. How would you like to be treated? Will you be that different associate? I say all of this with the hope that someone at Hyundai hears me and my familys plea of financial hardship this all has caused us, including rent being behind- having to degrade myself by sharing my situation on comment online complaint forms and to emails of candidates that have just glanced on my case and tossed to the side. How fair is this? I am a customer that all Ive asked for is a simple January payment to be adjusted due to company error and now I am forced to file litigation suit. Can I please get fair treatment and advice on who can fix all this issue for good and avoid further unnecessary actions?

I am the original owner of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS 6 speed manual, and the car currently have slightly over 150,000 miles. About 10 months ago I made my first attempt to get my car evaluated for rust spots that I noticed in various places (under side of the hood, gas fill cap area and frame above the muffler). Mostly spots are under the paint. I filed a complaint and obtained a case number. Despite having case number almost every time I called I had to explain the issue over and over again. I got a very little cooperation from the local Hyundai dealer (Branhaven Hyundai formerly Quality Hyundai) and a very slow response from Hyundai Motors of America. {and did not have anyone to contact most of the time}. The official response from Hyundai Motors of America came by mail only 6 months later denying warranty coverage. Only now after I got the letter I was able to get the name and address so I can file small claims writ for the cost of the repair and false advertisement. The official Hyundai website positing warranty coverage of 7 years unlimited miles, but for some reason my car did not stand in that guidance even if its only 5 years old. If you owned the same model vehicle Hyundai Elantra 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 ask your local oil change place or mechanic to look underneath the frame and see if you have the same problem and if you do please report it to your local Hyundai dealer. Please see attached pictures and if anyone else experienced a similar problem please share it. Its impossible that Im the only one experiencing the problem. I am from Connecticut so we do have salt on the road but I own other cars and none of them got rust like that even after 10 years.

Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract
Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract information entered that I fought for 39 months. At month 36 of my 39-month lease, I learn they made an error and its a 48-month lease, We went around and around. Then turn in car at end of lease (48 months not 39-months mind you!) to have termination fees, return fees, mileage fees (I expected those), and had a $1400.00 bill. HMF tells me I can pay it incrementally via the same account. I pay $400. then $100 each month at the suggestion of the HMF call representative. I did this on principle because I was so mad about how I was treated so I decided to pay it slowly. Yesterday, I get a phone call from a collection agency saying I owe $1400.00. I explain I have the payment confirmations from my bank showing $900.00 in payments my husband has made--the agency says (quote) well hes lying. No payments have been made and you owe it. I call HMF today and the representative, Tanya, with a heavy Indian accent, tells me she sees the $900.00 and its in collection for $402.21. Again, I tell her that her Hyundai co-representative told me to pay it that way. She says, Ill make a note of that on your account but you have to make arrangements with the collection agency to pay it. I have never had collections on this or any car loan! OMG I was NEVER LATE NOT ONCE. It was auto-pay from my bank! I requested a statement with complete billing history and told Tanya I would pay Hyundai the full amount directly. I have been switched and mislead over and over. Buyer beware!

I love the Remote Start feature that Hyundai Blue Link provides. I think its very overpriced. I also dont like that to get the Remote Start that I have to get the other packages which I dont use. It would be nice to just have the Remote Start feature. I also dont like that the max time for the vehicle to be started is only 10 minutes. It would be great for the customer to extend the timer beyond 10 minutes especially living in a cold climate state like I do. When the timer expires for the Remote Start, why dont you receive notification like you do when the vehicle is started. Also, I dont like it that it flashes the parking lights, they should give the option for the customer to turn off that feature or go to a solid parking light if so the customer chooses.I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and received the Remote Start package for a trial period. It was set up by the dealership. I didnt know why they needed my credit card information, I found out why. They auto billed my card after the trial period was over without notifying me. I asked why I wasnt notified and they didnt have an answer. I told them that I only wanted the Remote Start option and they said that I had to get the full package to get the Remote Start. Almost $300. I liked the Remote Start that much that I didnt cancel the service of which the Remote Start is the only thing I use.The next year, I purchased a 2016 Tuscon, same thing with the Elantra happened with the Tuscon. I called Blue Link and asked them to sync my two accounts, the agent told me she had done so. When I tried to start my 2015, the app prompted me to call Blue Link. They told me that the subscription on my Elantra was cancelled. I told them that I had another two months left before renewal, she verified that I was correct. I then asked her why was my service cancelled and she said she didnt know. She got a supervisor involved and he said the same thing.Granted, the 2015 is a Generation 1 vehicle and the 2016 is a Generation 2 vehicle which is two different departments. Why arent they combined, I dont know. I told them to turn on my service for the remaining two months that I have left on my subscription, they said they couldnt do that. They said I had to renew my yearly subscription. I asked them why because my service was not scheduled for renewal for two months and that it wasnt my fault that they screwed up. They said that their computers would not allow them to go in and turn on the service without the renewal of my yearly subscription. Being unsatisfied, I told them to renew my subscription which got prorated to the date that I purchased the vehicle. They told me that for my troubles that they would give me a discount on one of the packages one of my vehicles. They assured me that this mishap would not happen again.Which brings me to this years renewal, the so-called discount wasnt a discount, they extended one of the packages on one of my vehicles which knocked my packages out of sync, again. The sent me an E-mail stating that I would have to pay almost $20 a month for the next two months to aligned the packages. On the day that they were supposed to pull the money from my account, my Remote Start package was cancelled and when I called Blue Link, they said I had insufficient funds. Which I found ridiculous because I verified that I had several thousand dollars on that account. I even signed onto the Blue Link website to verify that the billing information was correct and it was. Besides, they had just taken out $297 from my account for my other vehicles renewal of which I wasnt notified. I asked them why I wasnt notified and again, they said that they didnt know and they were going to pass me onto their website department. They are currently investigating why I wasnt notified, I am not going to hold my breath for a response, lol. The agent asked what would it take for me to be a satisfied customer, I said, Free service, I knew that wouldnt fly. I asked her to turn on the service for the remainder of the two months I have left to sync my accounts, of course, just like the year prior, they said it couldnt be done and that I had to renew my yearly subscription. I didnt. I am so frustrated with Blue Link right now but I love their Remote Start feature. A few years ago, I tried to have Car Toys to put an aftermarket remote start system on my vehicle and they said that because the vehicle has a factory installed remote system on the vehicle that they couldnt do it. This was three years ago. I am going to revisit this option and see if it can be done. With the Remote Start feature I had on my other vehicle, it had way more features than Blue Link has and for cheaper. You figure with as much as they charge for the service that they would be one of the leaders in the game.I gave this review only 2 stars because I love the Remote Start otherwise it would be one star. I dont think Blue Link even cares about their customers, they know we have to use this service if we want it, especially being in a cold climate state. If they were smart, they would find a way to be able to modify the field to change the renewal date to maintain the subscribers they have right now. I will be looking for another car company where I can have more flexibility with this option. So it will be goodbye to Hyundai even though I like their vehicles. My Tucson was the 4th Hyundai I had purchased, yes, this is a deal breaker. If I can find a go around, I will. Thanks, Blue Link. Step up your game.

In 2010 I leased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I had previously purchased a Hyundai and had decided to stay with the company because I feel customer loyalty goes a long way. In 2013 my lease was up, and I loved my first Sonata so much that I decided to lease another one! I went in a month before the lease ended to shop around. The sales person convinced me to participate in the pull ahead program. This program lets you terminate the lease early as long as you sign another lease. I was excited to be in a new car a month before I originally thought I would be! Although they didnt have exactly what I wanted, I left with a new lease that day. Fast forward to today, and Im still dealing with calls from debt collectors/Hyundais corporate office saying I owe payment for the last month on my previously leased car. Despite reassurance from the local dealership that I dont owe anything, the calls continue to come. Not only to my cell, but also to my work (Im an ICU RN). Getting notifications from my coworkers that I have a phone call from a debt collector is not only embarrassing and untrue, but it is distracting from my job! This whole ordeal has made it look like I dont pay my bills, bringing my character into question among my coworkers. Not to mention the stress it has caused my husband and I. We have spent so much of our time worrying about the possibility of this royal screw up by Hyundai ultimately affecting our credit, which we work very hard to keep in excellent standing. Im so frustrated with this that I just want to be done with Hyundai completely, but they refuse to work with me to get me out of my current lease! As much as I love my car I dont agree with the way they do business, and I feel taken advantage of and trapped. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!

I had severe whiplash and now have constant back pain. I am so mad that the airbags did not deploy. I contacted Hyundai about this and they wanted all this information from me: service records and everything but the kitchen sink. Maybe Hyundai forgot to put the airbags in the vehicles that have so many issues of them not deploying.

This car was sold to me as a higher end model, so my expectations coincided with that. About a month into ownership, the car started emitting this terrible smell every time I accelerated onto the interstate. As winter progressed, the smell stopped. When the heat returned, it came back. It seems to stop after a while then return after oil changes. Ive had the vehicle a little over 2 years now, and the compressor already died. I dont even run the A/C over the 3rd bar even on the hottest days! Gas mileage already seems to be waning. I was doing 40mpg (primarily interstate driving) on regular unleaded with 10% ethanol. Now its doing 35 or so. I really like the push button start and car door lock/unlock.However, Ive been having trouble getting the car to lock over the past couple of months. Ill press the button as usual and nothing happens. Its sporadic, cant find a pattern by temperature, weather, or amount driven. On a different note, the volume doesnt automatically adjust to engine speed, so Im constantly adjusting the volume. I would much rather pay attention to driving! On a positive note, the car is comfortable and rides well. The heat and A/C work quickly (when they function). Two settings on the heated seats is really nice.

I will never buy another Hyundai vehicle again...I took out a new lease (2014 Sonata) March 26th and traded in my old lease (2012 Sonata). Everything was great until November when I start receiving phone calls telling me I am behind a payment. I explained to the caller that I have my bank statement showing me that payment was made. She told me she could not see my account because it was the weekend. I then had to call back on Monday and fax my bank statement showing that my payment was made. I was then told I had to wait 4 days for them to review the document... Really?? I once again had to call Hyundai and was informed my April payment was applied to my old lease and she would transfer the funds and it would be all taken care of. Surprise - it wasnt!! I received phone calls again in January stating I was still behind a month in my payments. So I call Hyundai directly and speak to a supervisor. He tells me that my payment went to the wrong account and that account was closed and refunded to me on a refund check. I asked during each one of the phone calls if my credit would be affected. Each and every time I was assured that it would not be affected because I never fell more than a month behind. Remind you, I have not been a Hyundai customer for over 3 years and have never even been late with a payment!!! I was trying to refinance my house a few weeks ago and SURPRISE, my credit has dropped 30 points because of this issue!! I have been trying to speak to the head of the finance department but Hyundai does not believe in email. How does a major company like Hyundai not operate through email! The topper to this story is that my statements that I receive every month do not show a late payment until November of 2014. So I missed a payment in April of 2014 and Hyundai does not realize that until November of 2014. Yeah, that is a company I want to do business with!! I dont think so!!!

My name is Daniel **. I am regretting the choice of buying a vehicle from Hyundai, who claims that they are there to help service the people and help me in general. Unfortunately, Hyundai is providing false information to there clientele. I recently just purchased my 2011 Hyundai Accent. The first week after having bought the car, I had issues. For instance, on the drivers door, there was a light scratch. The tail lights had water leaking inside, creating humidity. And the ignition circle was not firmly adjusted. The servicemen at my Hyundai dealership did fix the scratch without any issue. But they gave me problems towards the tail lights and the ignition key input to start the vehicle. After 6 months of owning the $ 23000 car, which is covered under the Hyundai warranty, I am extremely unsatisfied. Two weeks ago, I brought the Accent to the dealer due to a steering issue i had. They told me the front rim was dented and it was $ 155 to repair it. So, I agreed to this, seeing as it could have been possible as we have terrible roads over here. The following day, the car was making a whistling sound coming from the front tire that they worked on. The day after, I went back and it took them 1 hour an a half to figure out the problem. They charged me $90 without notice or knowledge that I had to pay for them to recheck the car (normally any garage or mechanic will call you first or consult with the client before putting a price to anything). The following week, I noticed a very loud rattling noise while starting the ignition. So as furious as I was, I called the dealership and asked them if they had room to see me. They advised me not till next week. So, I decided to bring the car to another dealer, because it is extremely inconvenient having a brand new car making this noise and causing me so much issues. The service at the new dealership was very kind. I asked if they can take a look at the lights and the rattling sound. They checked it. And then, they called me back a few hours after, saying the tail lights were not screwed in tight, and the metal shield beneath the vehicle wasnt intact enough. They fixed everything and charged me once more $70 without notice! Logically speaking, why would this not be a defect and not under warranty?!I am extremely frustrated. I never loosened anything on my vehicle. This is an issue that came from the manufacturer. This is a product complaint! What I want from you right now is what Hyundai promised me, which is if anything doesnt sound right with the car, you will come in and will examine it for free. Thats why you have a warranty! Where is the promise in that? Does Hyundai just talk strictly out of nowhere just to sell a car and make a couple of bucks commission? I refuse to pay for issues that were caused by bad mechanics from Hyundais part.

I have a 2014 Hyundai Tucson with 1700 miles. I only drive to my clubhouse and grocery store. I have had Roadside Assistance out 4 times to jump start my battery. Finally my husband took it in and they replaced the battery (2 months ago) and this morning, Friday the 13th of course, I had to have them come out and jump start the new battery AGAIN. Also, there is a awful ticking sound under the hood. All the Roadside Assistance people say it is weird and other people just walking by say it sounds like my engine is going to blow up. HUB says it the new 2014 clean gas flow pump??? Anyone heard of this? Very unhappy with this car. I had a Bravada for 7 years and never had one single problem. I hate this car!!! Unhappy Senior Citizen.

I purchased a 2019 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate about two weeks ago. The first week I had it I noticed when it was in the sun the back bumper and lift gate had these 3D swirls in the Black Noir Pearl paint. The dealership had the car redone with Zurche but still had the same issue. I took it back to the dealer and they had someone buff the entire car. This made the situation worse as the marks were still in the paint and he did a poor job detailing the car. I took the car home and spent 3 hours detailing the car myself to fix the issue from the detailer. Regardless to say the marks are still there. My wife noticed today that I have a big scratch under the spoiler. The dealership was going to allow me to pick another car, but they did not have any and it had to be today. So to make a long story short I wish they would just take the car from me like I never bought it. Very dissatisfied customer for a car that is only 2 weeks old when it was valued at 35 thousand dollars.

This is my second Accent and on the first one the paint job on the roof of the car started to oxidize. When I bought this one I asked them if it was going to be a problem again. They assured me they had fixed the problem. Why did I believe what they said. My car is almost 4 years old and I noticed that the paint on the trunk is already starting to oxidize. I like to keep my cars for a lot of years and the last thing I want is a car with a bad paint job. I would not recommend this car if you are the person who wants a car that looks its age not like a car from a junk heap.

They never told me there was a fee to return the car early -- I returned it 20 days before end of contract and they tell me that now that there is a $400 early termination fee, plus if the car loses money at auction, I am liable for that amount, too. The car was over on miles, which is why I called (twice) before returning. Whether its sitting in my driveway or on their lot, I dont know why that would matter, and as far as them losing money at auction, I cant control that. Predatory.

This is with deep disgust that I am writing this letter to Hyundai. My familys loyalty toward Hyundai started in the year 1999 with the first generation Santro. From there, we have possessed Accent which was bought by my brother, two Verna first generation, etc. and finally we have gone for a Fluidic Verna in the year 2011. I possessed a white Verna SX CRDI ABS, which was the top variant in the year 2008. The reason for top model with ABS was due to the utmost safety concerns. But I had 3 instances of accident with my car which was due to ineffective ABS. This complaint I have raised with The Popular Motor World delegates in Cochin, Kottayam, Muvattupuzha centers in Kerala but they could not help me on the same.I had spent thousands of bucks on service after the other but the result was the same. Now, my car has covered 75,000 kilometers and even last week, I was about to meet with an accident owing to the problem of the ABS. Now, delegates in the service department is suggesting me to change the ABS Sensor. Brand loyalty is exercised by a customer due to various factors among which I believe the most important one is service quality and the ownership the company takes to give customer delight. But now when I turned back, I am surprised to find that passenger car market had given me numerous option to choose from but still I was loyal to Hyundai and all due to that decision I am now having a tough time. None of the brands are built in a day and I strongly believe that quality is not an accident but an outcome of conscious and continuous effort. Please help me to come out of this issue. Thank you.

My 2017 Hyundai Tuscon I originally leased but ended up buying it when my lease was up. It was about a month later in December the engine/transmission went. I took it in the service department. Took 3 days to look at it but determined metal shavings were all over the motor and it needed to be replaced. Thankfully still under warranty. I then asked for a loaner and a manager in the service department told me they dont do that. I ended up going to Enterprise for a rental IN DECEMBER. I called every week for six weeks asking for an update and I was told they were waiting on a part. I then asked to speak to a manager as I was out money for renting a car for six weeks and another manager in the department said, Yes we have one. come pick it up. I get there and I was told they didnt have any more cars to loan out. Obviously I threw a fit as I turned in my other lease.By now it is MARCH and they still have not communicated when my car would be ready I quit calling weekly and went straight to Hyundai Corporate where they opened up a case and gave me a case manager. He was not that helpful at all. It didnt speed up the process of me getting my car back. I finally got my car back March 30th and my paperwork to turn in for reimbursement and I was told a week or so later the paperwork that the dealership gave me was not enough to warrant a reimbursement. I resent the paperwork 3x and emailed and called since they will not return my emails or calls. I would NEVER deal or buy from Hyundai again. There are too many other nicer cars and I am sure easier people to deal with than Hyundai. I will now go a step further and file civil action against them. The car was under warranty. I should be able to get my money back and they should have communicated better!!!!

On 8/8/2017 my Hyundai Elantra vehicle started clunking as a way getting on to the highway. After pulling over, I saw a huge puddle of oil that was leaking out of my vehicle. After having it towed and inspected I was told that something let loose in the engine and blew a hole right through. This was after only going through a puddle but then having all parts affect cleaned out. A week later this is what happens. I have never owned a vehicle where the engine had to be replaced so quickly. It is only a 2015 with 109,000 miles approximately. I had a previous 2010 Hyundai that surpassed that mileage. I believe that something is defective in the way they have made these engines in newer year models. Everyone should be aware of this before purchasing because I am now spending thousands of dollars after only 2 years of owning the vehicle on top of being stuck with a significant amount due on my car loan.

Got wheel bearings changed at a local mechanic. The part was under warranty. I filed for warranty, requesting reimbursement for $250. I have been asked to get the proof of work done from a Hyundai dealership, which I am in total agreement with. The dealerships are asking me $400-450 for inspection. I am willing to pay that amount, considering that I would be reimbursed for it all. 2013 Hyundai Veloster: I felt compelled to submit this review because of a recent experience Ive had with the brand that has left a bad taste in my mouth, and in the interest of transparency, should be shared so this doesnt happen to another consumer. In 2012 my parents were looking to buy me a car as a graduation gift (in cash), and we looked at Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Ford. At the time Hyundai was heavily marketing the 10-year warranty, so we decided to look into purchasing a Hyundai, as this was a major differentiator and benefit from the other brands. My parents ended up working w/ a local dealer in Maryland, who helped locate and purchase an Veloster for me. The entire time, the dealer was aware that the car was being purchased for me. Since it was a gift, I was not at the dealer at the time of sale, and my mother put her name on the title (this is an important detail for later). It was never stipulated that only having her name (and not mine) could be a potential issue, as she was NOT purchasing the car for herself.Flash forward 6 years and I move to the west coast. Right after moving my car, I get it registered in California and transfer the title from my mother so I can pay my own insurance. Dec17 at 55k miles Im hearing a horrendous screech coming out of my wheels, and I find out its a defective wheel bearing (should last 100k). At the dealer they dont mention that this would be covered under my 10-year warranty, because my warranty expired at 50k. This sets off major red flags, as the front wheel bearings are part of drive train, and should be covered under the 10-year/100k mile warranty - I know something isnt right.I call corporate (1st time) and find out that the warranty on my car was just invalidated when I transferred the title, because I moved the car title under my name i/o leaving it under my mothers, which immediately invalidated the 10 year warranty (Ive had this car for 6 years/55k miles). This is a major stipulation that was not presented at the dealer when the car was being sold to my parents (this car was purchased solely for that warranty), so I call the dealer to discuss this issue as it originated w/ them, and they refer me back to corporate. I call corporate again (2nd time) and end up talking to a customer rep who was incredibly condescending and rude, challenging why I would be questioning my warranty (because my car is having issues that should be covered), etc., and was just generally nasty the entire time.I finally ask to talk to his manager, who he says will call within 24-48 hours - wont give me a name or a time (no one ever calls - I hope this conversation was recorded). I call the dealer (2nd time) and explain that corporate is not at all standing behind this, and that the dealer needs to get involved since their salespeople sold the car, and theyre the originators of this issues. Long-short, theyre doing their best to defer and stay uninvolved, saying that theyre not responsible for anything at the time of sale involving warranty. In a situation like this, a brand that stands behind what they market, and a brand that supports and values their customers would simply HONOR THE TERMS the car was marketed and sold as, and move on. Instead, what Ive found is a brand that seizes on the opportunity to shirk away from what was promised at first opportunity, both at corporate as well as at the dealer.I hadnt had an issue with Hyundai before this, but this entire experience has left a terrible mark on the brand for me. In a lifetime youll buy on average 5 cars, and I can confidently say it will never be a Hyundai again, and I recommend no one else does. Dont be duped by the marketing of a 10-year warranty - it sounds too good to be true, and it is. I regret not buying the Jeep.

We were prepared to pay cash for the car on 12/31/11, but we were told that we would get $500 more off the car if we financed and then we could pay it off. So before we received the coupon book, we sent in an estimated amount for the purchase price plus estimated interest. The next month we received a bill for $11.23 for the difference of additional finance charges which we paid. For the past week, the autodial collection people have called us at least 15 times (over 5 times on 3/26), looking for the monthly payment of $839. Finally, my husband was on hold for over 20 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor who said our account was paid in full. We have continued to get calls since then for the same thing. On 3/37, we got 2 more calls. I am not that happy with the car to begin with. The gas mileage is way under what was represented. After the experience with the finance people, I will never buy another Hyundai. Also, the phone representatives were rude and the auto-dialer put us on hold several times after we answered the phone. There is an existing problem for about 2 3 months and its not getting better. There is a burnt smell when the heat is on, dewy film on front windshield. I can clean the windows and its back in a few days. I constantly need to drive with the windows down for fresh air and unable to have passengers due to health and safety concerns. The problem seems to be coming from the vents on the dashboard (right below the windshield) regardless of whether the heat is on or off.I tested my theory by covering the vents for 2 days while driving and the symptoms below decreased. So the vapors that are causing the problems are coming through those dash vents which make sense considering the above problems. I turned on the defroster on 5/8/13 after the car sat all night and smelled antifreeze for about 2 minutes from the dash vents. Also I did some internet research and found some common themes with the 2012 Sonata GLS: PVC collapsing and causing fumes; vapors to back up inside the cabin; antifreeze vapors coming through the dash vents. The vapors/leaks were not detected through the pressure test, they were found through a manual check.Symptoms experienced by driver and/or passenger in vehicle are: dizziness; extreme eye irritation and burning; headache; taste buds dull out and when they return hours later, its almost a sugary taste; nausea.

I had no idea what to expect when I bought my 2006 Sonata. It turned out to be a great car. We had the V6 Limited but no sunroof or top of the line radio. MPG was as high as 24.8 because we did highway miles. Repairs were few and infrequent. We did regular fluid changes as recommended by the dealer; but as far as repairs, we did very few. Need ceramic brake pads at 90,000. We did the plugs finally at 120,000, but I think they would have gone to 150,000 without a problem since they were iridium. Also had a pulley go bad. Finally, had to also do struts and shocks and also had to do tires of course from time to time. I’m very pleased over all. Only annoying thing that happened was replacing the third brake light. Whoever designed the access to this bulb needs to be re-educated LOL. I finally sold it at 150,000 miles, but I really think it would have gone 250,000 for sure.

If you are reading this - Please do not finance with this company. About 3 years ago, a mistake on their end (on their website) returned my payment. The excuse they gave me was we only had the last four digits of your account number and therefore could not process your payment. Well, the entire account number was there, but the digits in front were shown as Xs, so my account number looked like this - XXXXXXXXXXX-0000. When I explained to them this was the issue, they reversed the late fee. You would think after this that the company would fix the issue.Well, this happened again recently in the beginning of April (2014). I was given the same excuse. They reversed the fee. I then made another payment (for two months). I made sure the account number, routing number, and checking number were absolutely correct (even have an email confirmation with all the information on it). This payment didnt go through again, and this time they will not reverse the fee. I repeatedly asked them for the reason why the payment did not go through. First I was told insufficient funds. Then I was told only last four digits were available. Then I was told the account number was wrong. When I repeatedly asked them for what account number they were given for the returned payments, they said they didnt have it on file. So how do you know it was wrong if you cant even check it in the first place? After several emails and phone calls, and a phone call with a supervisor named John, they absolutely refused to waive the returned payment fee. After the first payment was returned in early April, Hyundai Motor Finance should have immediately told me if something went wrong with the second payment (instead of waiting to hit me with a late fee/returned payment fee). Nothing showed on their website until AFTER they hit me with yet another fee. This is a real shame since Im happy with Hyundai Motors of America and my local dealership. However, if the dealerships are urging people to finance with this company, they too should be held accountable for poor customer service. They are refusing to do anything further. This issue is not resolved. To everyone reading this, avoid financing with this company. They truly do not care about their customers.

We have 105633 miles on the 2006 Hyundai Tucson that failed (engine overheated) in the middle of highway when my family with two small children were traveling. No warning and it was an abrupt stop. Called 911 and emergency responders pushed the car to the side. We towed to a dealer who said head gasket is blown and only fix is to replace engine. To further diagnose, the dealer needs approval from Hyundai but, Hyundai says, they will not do further diagnosis because their warranty covers only up-to 5 year and the vehicle can fail after 5 years. They insist there has not been any manufacturer recalls but, I asked them how do they know if there is no recalls if they dont diagnose? Their response was even worse than the ordeal we have gone through. We were almost killed driving this vehicle. Never buy a Hyundai that can only last for 5 years and get killed.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Im persistent with maintenance and was relocating from Wisconsin to Nevada for work, thinking my car only has 40,000 miles so it shouldn’t have any major problems on the way there. Well, get 1000 miles away to Tulsa and the engine completely blew. I was stuck there for 9 days which caused my boyfriend and I to dwindle our savings by $1200 to cover my hotel and food cost. The repair was covered under warranty because there was absolutely no sludge in the engine when it was taken apart and turns out there were several recall parts IN THE ENGINE that needed to be replaced. Well, we finally make it to Las Vegas and I try to file a trip interruption claim and the people at Hyundai told me what to fax to them...so I did and spent $12.00 at UPS to do so. I waited a week and get a call saying that I have to MAIL my documents to the roadside people first before Hyundai will consider the charges. Welp, did that and 2 weeks later, I call roadside and they tell me it takes SEVEN WEEKS TO REVIEW and they can’t see anything in the system until it’s finished being reviewed. So I finally give them the 7 weeks and call in, still not in the system so I was given a fax # to send everything in. 2 weeks later, they approved 300$ because thats their max allowable and Id need to go through Hyundai for the remainder. So... I call Hyundai since they have ALL the documents I sent previously. The girl I talked to assured me it should only take 3 days because I had my case reviewed previously and they just needed the response from roadside to approve it. So... I wait the 3 days, call back and the reviewer still hasn’t even touched my account. 2 weeks and 3 messages to the examiner later - still nothing. So I’m told itll be escalated to his manager and I’ll hear back within a day. Did I? Nope. Talked to a rep this morning who discussed my account with his lead and they both agreed its inexcusable for the examiner to be avoiding my case all together. I will NEVER buy another Hyundai again... my parents and sister both just recently went car shopping and were both considering Hyundais until I went through this...so they just lost 2 customers. Im at my very last straw with them. Theres no reason my engine should have blown at 40,000 miles now theyre just evading paying me back the money that is owed to me.

We decided to switch to Ford and turn in our leased Hyundai five months early. We were aware of the $400.00 disposition fee Hyundai. We paid all remaining lease payments, the car had only 19500 miles and was in as new condition. 3 weeks after the transaction, we get a bill from Hyundai for $2,200.00. As it turns out, the residual value is out the window, they took the car to auction and sold it for $1000.00 less. After hours on the phone with Hyundai Finance, we got nowhere. All they said was Its in the contract. Yeah its there but you need a law degree to understand it.Their bill did not include our check for the final 5 payments which they acknowledged receipt, but even gave us a hard time when I ask for a new bill reflecting this payment. It appears we still have to pay them $795.88. Do yourself a favor. Either dont lease a car from any company who charges these fees, or bring your lawyer to when you pick up your car.
