Bought a 2014 Hyundai Accent hatchback. During the purchase I was upsold extended warranty (BIG mistake $2600). All was fine until snow fell. Bottom of the car, which is covered with what appears to be black cardboard, began peeling off. Apparently driving in the snow is considered reckless driving and not covered by warranty. If you live anywhere there is snow, do not purchase vehicles from countries that do not have such weather. And definitely do not purchase extended warranties!

I bought my 2011 Sonata SE in April 2010. At about 55K the automatic transmission began shifting harshly. Within about 2 weeks the shifting had become a hard bang and the car was undriveable. The dealer spent three days diagnosing it but were not able to determine the cause. The manufacturer authorized them to replace the transmission. Over the months that followed, usually at highway speeds, the vehicle routinely surged in RPM from 2000 to 5500, but did not surge in speed. Two weeks ago, at 91K, the vehicle began to experience very delayed shifting from 1st/2nd and 2nd/3rd, surging in RPM before each shift so that when the shift occurred the vehicle speed increased excessively creating a jack rabbit start. This week while driving at highway speed the transmission jolted dramatically, the speed dropped, and the RPMs rose. I figured it had gone into limp-home mode. I parked the car, verified that it was in 4th (by placing it in the manual shift position), and called the dealership. I let the vehicle sit for a couple of hours and found that it drove normally. I took it to the dealership where they pulled codes which indicated an incorrect setting for gear ratio at 6th gear. This seemed odd to me since thats all electronically/programmatically determined, and it made me wonder if they had downloaded the most current transmission control module program when they installed the second transmission. They are now installing the third transmission under the 100K Powertrain warranty. I have not yet been notified to pick up the car.I am very concerned for several reasons: (1) The erratic transmission behavior has me afraid to drive the car, especially at highway speeds. (2) I am very concerned that sometime in the next 35K to 55K Im going to have to replace the transmission - and that it may fail due to not being properly programmed or installed. I have not yet heard back from Hyundai Consumer Affairs.

We have been happy Hyundai customers for many years. Earlier in the year, we were noticing that our Genesis was sporadically pulling to one side. We took it to our car to Chapman Hyundai in Phoenix, AZ - the dealership we purchased the car and loyally worked with them on all of our service needs. They couldnt recreate the issue, so they returned the car to us. We continue to have incidences of this happen again, so took the car back. They did a wheel alignment. It didnt solve the problem. In June I lost control of the car when coming off the highway. I feared that I would not be able to stop at the bottom of the off-ramp, which would have resulted in a major accident. Fortunately, I was able to regain control and stop the car in time.We tried to make an appointment with the dealership, but there was a 2-week wait, so we took it to a local repair shop because we were afraid to drive the car and couldnt be without it for 2 weeks. They quickly saw that all 4 control arms had major cracks in them. They replaced them. They said that this issue should have been detected by the dealership mechanics since the cracks were quite large. This doesnt happen overnight. They also suggested there may be another issue that should be watched if the pulling should happen again. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs to report this situation on June 2nd. I was told that I would hear back from a case manager within 10 days. I was finally contacted (after repeatedly calling, sitting on hold, waiting, and waiting) on July 14th. The case manager immediately told us that there was nothing she could do as far as reimbursement of the over $3500 of costs we incurred at an independent garage because the car wasnt repaired by a certified Hyundai mechanic. I stressed our lack of faith in the technicians, stressed the risk I was put in, and threatened to go viral with my story. She came back 5 days later saying that the company would reimburse me for the cost of parts only - however, I had to take the car to a dealership for them to make sure the work was done properly. She wanted me to pay for this service while taking MORE time off work - not having a car. She called me back 2 days later to see if I was going to accept the offer even though I told her it wasnt fair that I had to pay for the service call as well as everything else Ive been dealing with. She called me back - as promised - on July 22nd. I was unavailable to take her call. Since then I have left multiple messages/emails with her with no response. The pulling issue still persists to this day. On August 4th we scheduled a service call with a different Hyundai dealership. Again, we have to wait 2 weeks for our appointment. Were left with an unsafe car, no response from the company, and no sight in end to this issue. When my husband had car issues with his Acura, they had to wait 2 weeks to get the necessary part that was draining our battery. They provided us with a loaner so we werent inconvenienced and kept us updated on the status of the part. Thats customer service. Maybe Hyundai needs to look at its competitors and learn how to treat people properly.

Recently I relocated to Florida. I faxed a request for my title to be sent to the Florida tag agency on July 23. I called Hyundai on July 29 to check on the status. I was told to call back in a week as they were behind. I called back on August 5 and was told they have no receipt of my request. I verified the fax number and again faxed. On August 18 I checked to see if my request was being processed. I was told they were behind and only processing requests from august 1st. Currently I am not able to get Florida plates, I am paying insurance in two states. Customer service at HYUNDAI is poor at best. They need to have an undercover boss check out what the employees are doing. If I worked at that rate my boss would fire me. I am sure that HYUNDAI would find me quickly if I missed a payment. Due to this I would rate them low and will never purchase/lease from them again. My husband drives a Mercedes and my son a Toyota. They both received their titles within a week.

I wish there is a way for me to give zero stars for the unpleasant experience I am having with Hyundai. Within 9 months approximately from the purchase ofmy Hyundai Accent 2016, the car started issuing notifications on my dashboard, with some warning signals as the disconnection of the odometer causes the display to be stuck at zero mph while I am driving, the disconnection between the gas tank, the fuel signal reads wrong, which misleads me regarding the actual amount of gas car contains, etc.In the beginning phase of these issues like 2-3 times, I visited to Hyundai dealership where the technicians did their best to assess & understand the root cause of the problem and in order to fix it. Every time the technicians serviced the car and per their knowledge, they fixed the issue permanently and in few months the issue returned, and I had to re-visit the dealership. Past 3 years with this brand-new car purchase with the hope of living hassle-free life with my car turned into an exhausting nightmare. As of today, I visited dealership 10+ times specifically to fix this issue, the dealership technicians who themselves promised and were sure that the issue was fixed, were puzzled upon my return carrying the same issue. After being assessed multiple times on presenting the problem, the technicians concluded that my car has a manufacturing issue and there is not a permanent resolution for said. I would be happy if this conclusion was given in the beginning phase when I raised a ticket for this issue, it could have saved me 3 years of mental torture with this car that I am trying to fix. When I went for purchase Hyundai welcomed me like family and now when I am suffering from the malfunctioned car they sold, Hyundai takes no responsibility!!IF ANYBODY IS READING THIS REVIEW, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR MIND AND DO NOT BUY ANY HYUNDAI CAR. Even I can save one person making the same mistake I did, it will be a success.

I have a 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo and it kept stalling while in drive. My seats started cracking after only 6 months. My resonator and exhaust has to be replaced with less than 6000 miles on it. Hyundai definitely needs to recall this vehicle because my car has been back and forth in the shop due to the mechanics solely depending on computer codes to find whats wrong. Do it the old way. Actually look at the components and parts of the car. It should not take almost 3 weeks to figure out the grounding wires were bad.

On Sunday the 22nd of February at 7:45 Eastern Standard time I received a phone call from legal services saying that my car needs to be picked up, and by the state of Massachusetts I had to surrender my vehicle. I am delinquent in a payment, so I figured if I cooperate and let them take my vehicle, we would be able to work things out. Today is Thursday the 26th of February and my car is still in a tow company parking lot, while these people take their sweet time on telling me whether or not Im approved for a reinstatement. The representatives are by far rude, and no assistance. I cant even explain myself without one of them saying maam, you’re going to have to wait.” These people have no record of that man calling me on Sunday, they don’t know what happened. So, to them I basically willingly gave up my car. Hyundai was one of the only dealerships that was willing on assisting me with a car, but now I feel like maybe this was the wrong dealership to do business with.

On 3/24/2009, I purchased a new Hyundai Sonata. I had driven the car for 3 years with approximately 29,500 miles. On 3/9/2012, I had my car inspected. The depth measurements on my brake pads were front 9 and 10, rear 12 and 12. All of these measurements were in the green acceptable level which should not require replacement. The corrosion on the rotors was so excessive I was forced to replace the rotors and brake pads. I was also informed that I would have to replace the front rotors and brake pads in the very near future. In addition, I had to replace the dashboard shortly after initial purchase due to a defect and 1 year after purchase, all 4 of my wheel rims have rusted. I was told by the service manager that this was due to the PA winters. When asked that this must be happening to all Hyundai vehicles in PA, he said that was not true. I informed him that I am driving the same roads as other PA drivers. His response was, I am from California and I do not know anything about PA winters.I have purchased and driven numerous brands and vehicles over my 40 years of driving. I follow the recommended vehicle maintenance schedule and wash the vehicle regularly. I have never had to replace rotors and brake pads because the parts could not stand up to the environment. I lived in Buffalo, NY, Minneapolis, MN, Dubuque, IA, and Madison, WI and never had this happen with the Buick, Toyota, Pontiac and Chevrolet products I purchased. In PA, I have owned Jaguar, Buick, Mazda and Chevrolet and again, never had to replace rotors and brake pads due to corrosion. My vehicle warranty was under 3 years of a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. Hyundai needs to inform consumers of the problem or stop selling cars in winter environments. The winters in PA are very mild versus other areas I have lived in and 2011/2012 winter was absolutely nothing. This must be happening to numerous consumers. If that is not the case, than there is a serious problem with mine. Hyundai is doing nothing to address this problem except, let the buyer beware.

After purchasing my AWD Hyundai Tucson in October 2016, I have been notified that this specific model had a dual clutch transmission defect that results in delayed acceleration from stop. The recall did not solve the problem and all my complains regarding the transmission was denied by Hyundai dealers. Since that date any time I go to the dealer complaint about loud transmission vibration and sound and delay on acceleration etc. they simply reply sorry this is due to the discontinued DCT defect that is well known for this model as if I have to accept it and live with it. The real problem that I have discovered that Hyundai has known about this defect prior selling the car to me and still they sold it and I simply have to live with the defective transmission that will definitely crash in the very near future!!!

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata last year in April 2015. I bought it used with about 89k miles on it. Up until Sep. 25th 2016, the car has been working perfectly. But about a week before that date, I noticed how badly the car was burning up oil. I was putting a quart in it every week because it would read low. On the 24th, I was driving with my 1 year old in the car and all the sudden the car started making a clanking noise. Thank God I made it home that night because I wasnt sure if I would without the car breaking down. When I got home, I turned the car off and turned it back on and it just sounded terrible. Sounded as if the whole engine was falling apart. The next day, I knew I wasnt going to be able to drive it.I called Columbia Hyundai in Cincinnati and I took it there to the shop on the 28th. They discovered that my car was part of the motor recall for that model car and that my car needed a new engine. It is now Nov. 9th 2016 and my car still has not been fixed. Its been in the shop for 6 weeks now. They still have a car in their shop from July that hasnt gotten a motor. I just got off the phone with them and they said it will maybe be the 1st week of December when they start getting motors. Shouldnt they have started mass producing these motors knowing there was a recall on the engine for thousands of cars? Makes no sense to me. Thankfully, Hyundai is 100% paying for the new motor and the rental car I am using. However, I am still making a payment every month on a car I do not have and I have asked Hyundai to reimburse me for this and they refuse to do so. Not very satisfied with Hyundai right now.

My husband is in the military. We contacted Hyundai about applying the SSRA (Soldiers & Sailors Relief Act). When they applied this they lost 5 of my payments. I spent weeks trying to get this corrected. I have been treated like a criminal, talked nasty to, and demanded I pay my past due balance. If you pulled their statements online, it showed every payment, the payment history though, disappeared. They required me to send them proof that I had made all these payments. I had to go to the bank, and stamped copies of the electronic transactions. Then, they almost didnt even accept the bank statements. Finally, after going through several people, they corrected the payments by the end of January. When they corrected my payments, we lost the SSRA. So, I called in again on 2/8/12, and spoke to a manager about the SSRA. They assured me, and promised me that this would be corrected by the weekend. Well, it is the weekend, and once again, my payments, since September, have disappeared yet once again. They are saying I owe over $2,000, and I am not even sure they got the SSRA applied correctly. David in California is the only person in the entire company they say that can apply the SSRA. Really? For a company this large? They see they are trying to reverse my payments once again. Heres a new problem, they are now showing 90 days late on our credit report, and mind you, my husband is an active military, and this could cost him his career. I have requested letters 3 times from Hyundai, that this is no fault of my own, and the matter has been corrected. It is always they dont do letters, but will forward to the correct department. I am at my wits end, and have never paid any payment late. I have worked for my credit very hard, and it is not fair that a company can just mess up your account, and you pay the price.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson about a year ago and was promised bells and whistles (which I knew in part werent true), but the one that appeared real was free maintenance for 3 years. To a single mom on a budget, that sounded spectacular. I even watched as the dealer and loan officer wrote down this promise multiple times, but when it came to signing my contract I did not double check to see if my free maintenance for 3 years promise had been recorded. When I called to make my regular service appointments, everything went smoothly at first. After about the third appointment, service fees started appearing and suddenly I was told by the service department that Hyundai never gives 100% free maintenance. Apparently, what was meant by my too good to be true deal was that free maintenance only means free oil changes and that is it. Everything else will cost you. Driving my Tucson is just fine, but being duped puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I step into my car. Im on the fence about buying from Hyundai again. No matter how much one tries not to get screwed over by dealers, it seems they always find another way to get you.

Hyundai is having a major problem with engine failure and the parts being on backorder. Mine has been at the dealership for 5 1/2 months. My parts backorder now has been pushed to Nov. 15th, which I am sure will be pushed out again as they have every month. It has been 5 1/2 months. Hyundai customer care is one of the worst Ive seen, they are showing no concerns about me the consumer or my vehicle. There is a Hyundai Tucson engine failure page set up on Facebook. I would encourage you to NOT buy a Hyundai.

Back in February, we traded our 2011 Hyundai for a 2012 Hyundai. We couldnt stop the final payment before it was sent and were told not to worry because they would just turn around and refund it.” A dozen calls and 37 days later, we finally received our refund. Then, our dealership messed up the paperwork for the refund of our extended warranty and it was sent to Hyundai Motor Finance. Now, three weeks later, we are still fighting to get that money returned to us. To top it off, because the credit for the car payment sat in the account so long and they didnt close the account because of the credit, they charged us account fees which they are now calling me at my office to collect. So they owe me $2000, which they dont seem to care about. But they are harassing me at work for $23.00, which I am told during every phone call is a mistake. We have the 2012 financed through them and have never been late. We even pay a little extra every month. In return, this is the treatment they give their customers. I have never seen such horrible service, apathy, lack of concern, and blatant disregard for the customer. I am disgusted with Hyundai Finance and will never deal with them again, even if this means this is the last Hyundai I ever purchase.

I loved my Hyundai Sonata for the first couple of years. Had a couple of minor issues, but nothing major. After that, things started to go wrong - full throttle pump had to be replaced ($1000) dollars. Last week I hit 100,000 miles on my car. Then the next day the check engine light went on. Took it to the mechanic and they said it was something with the oil pump. They cleaned it, did an oil change, light went off. Next day, light came back on. Took it back, they replaced the part and when they took it for a test drive, the engine began seizing up. They told me it needed a new engine. Had it towed to dealership. They also said it needed a new engine. They told me that since it was over warranty, there would be no coverage. They informed me that the goodwill warranty determination would have to come from Hyundai manufacturing. Hyundai manufacturing told me it was determined by the dealership. I called the dealership again and they sent me back to Hyundai manufacturing.

Please put signal/turn lights on the taillights and not just the back bumper. Other drivers are used to seeing blinkers right on tail lights and not on the bumper. I am sharing my experience so that everyone is aware about such poor system
I am sharing my experience so that everyone is aware about such poor system to avoid. I co-signed a lease agreement for my son to lease a Hyundai Elantra 2017 last year. It appears that my son stopped paying his lease starting June. We, his parents, were under the impression that he is in contact with Hyundai to manage his payment, apparently this was not true.On July 22, 2017, bailiff came to collect the car. We were very cooperative and let the car go. I wanted my son to learn a lesson. This was not a joke to stop paying for his lease. However, the person from bailiff, never explained that there will be storage charges, the lease payment will continue to accumulate after he takes the car even if we no longer have or use the car, and all other fees I end up paying, simply he did not gave us an honest advise. Otherwise I would pay what Hyundai requires and keep the car without going through this emotional distress. With high blood pressure and other medical conditions it makes me feel even worse. On August 4th, I received a registered mail from bailiff explaining the charges. The letter did not include a single telephone number to contact. Being proactive, I went to the dealership for information. The financial adviser there tried to assist by calling Hyundai Capital for more information. Surprisingly, Hyundai Capital did not have an update about the car status which has been taken since July 22!!! This rep gave us the bailiff telephone number, however. The financial adviser gave me the telephone number for Hyundai Capital. I called all parties to gather information. Another person from bailiff sent me the required amount which I paid on Aug 8th, that was $1677.69.On August 9th bailiff confirmed receiving the fund and other documents were requested. However, bailiff requested additional payments for a time period I did not use the car at all as the car was/is still on hold by bailiff as explained earlier. I contacted Hyundai Finance, provided a Void Cheque with my personal banking information and authorized them to take this amount. Later speaking with Hyundai collection department they explained that this payment has to be deposited to bailiff which I did.Morning next day I received a confirmation from bailiff confirming receiving the fund and in communication with Hyundai to get release approval. I forwarded this bailiff e-mail confirmation to [email protected]. The car has accumulated storage charges, I paid lease payment for a car I do not have or used at all since July 22 until I received it back about mid August, I found myself as the one who was coordinating the conversations between bailiff and Hyundai, but yet neither Hyundai nor bailiff were willing to compensate or provide a satisfactory level of customer service.I spoke with Hyundai finance several times with false promises to call me back, never did. Finally by end of day I received a call from the auction that the car was held by that an approval has been received to release the car. I picked up the car after paying the redemption fee, storage fee and taxes. I have the car and the lease payment are in good standing since. Now, my son has been receiving letters under his name, not mine, to pay additional charges. I called Hyundai last week, they advised I am still missing a payment, however Hyundai could not specify what is this payment for, they was supposed to investigate this further from their end and call me back, Hyundai never did. Today my son received the same note about this payment. I called this evening, Oct 10, 2017, and got someone on the phone, who told me this fee is a repossession fee. However the letter doesnt say anything about a repossession fee, it says Prior billing and misc charges returned item handling. This person mentioned this was written on the agreement, I found myself forced to pay an additional amount of money I have not been expected or ready to pay. I am not sure how Hyundai expect every single person to read such agreements, and if happen how easy the terms will be understood by an average person. All these should have been explained beforehand at the dealership before signing the agreement, which never happened. This by far the worst/worst experience I ever had with such a system. I regret I considered getting a car deal from Hyundai. In simple words, stay away from such poor system.

HYUNDAI IS THE WORST WORST WORST! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE IN CORPORATE FOR OVER TWO WEEKS. Everyone in my family owns a Hyundai. My son has a 2012 Sonata that started burning oil. He brought it to Star Hyundai who fixed the problem but actually made things worse. He then brought the car to Plaza Auto Mall where he purchased the car and was told he needed a new engine due to what Star Hyundai did. The warranty claim was denied because they said he never had an oil change. He then produced 8 receipts showing all the oil changes he indeed did have and still they declined the warranty work. He was told that we had NO RIGHT to know why it was denied. On Feb 16TH I spoke to a MS. ** who said she would get back to me within 48 hrs to find out why it was denied. It is now March 5th and still no call back. Today I called corporate and theOPERATOR would not let me tell her what the problem was. When I tried to speak she said SHUT THE ** UP then she hung up. I called back repeatedly and every time she hung up. I have traded in my car and will be buying a Subaru. My son unfortunately was so desperate he traded in his car at Plaza Auto Mall and leased a new Sonata - which we all regret.

This car was sold to me as a higher end model, so my expectations coincided with that. About a month into ownership, the car started emitting this terrible smell every time I accelerated onto the interstate. As winter progressed, the smell stopped. When the heat returned, it came back. It seems to stop after a while then return after oil changes. Ive had the vehicle a little over 2 years now, and the compressor already died. I dont even run the A/C over the 3rd bar even on the hottest days! Gas mileage already seems to be waning. I was doing 40mpg (primarily interstate driving) on regular unleaded with 10% ethanol. Now its doing 35 or so. I really like the push button start and car door lock/unlock.However, Ive been having trouble getting the car to lock over the past couple of months. Ill press the button as usual and nothing happens. Its sporadic, cant find a pattern by temperature, weather, or amount driven. On a different note, the volume doesnt automatically adjust to engine speed, so Im constantly adjusting the volume. I would much rather pay attention to driving! On a positive note, the car is comfortable and rides well. The heat and A/C work quickly (when they function). Two settings on the heated seats is really nice.

My wife hit a concrete light pole base. The body damage was about 2500 dollars but the air bag light came on and white powder was in the car which meant the airbag went off but did not deploy the bag. The insurance company said, You need an airbag and any parts needed to repair it right even though it did not deploy to help stop my wife from moving forward. The car is a 2004 Sonata GLS with 66,000 miles on it as of July 5, 2014 the day of the accident. Hyundai said it is out of warranty but I said this is a device that will only work during an accident. They basically said too bad. The cost was over $3000.00 to replace the bag, seat belt and all the bells and whistles that make the bag NOT DEPLOY. The car is a total loss because of the air bag cost and why would I want to install a new bag that may or may not deploy. Hyundai recalled other year air bags like 2003 and 2006 but my 2004 is not included yet I have read many complaints of non--deploying. Do not trust air bags as a safety item and it doesnt matter what car. Use the seat belt and pray, lol. My car is a total loss but a friend wants to buy it as it has 66,000 miles on it and I am anal when it comes to doing everything the dealer wants you to do and when to do it. I will not buy another Hyundai but I do wish it would have made the recall list so if you have this problem report it to NTSD (NATIONAL TRANS SAFETY PLACE NOT SURE OF THE ACRONYM). Thats all folks. Trust no one.

We have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited with 30000 kms on it and it has been at the dealership in Fredericton, NB for 7 weeks now waiting for a wiring harness which was diagnosed after replacing the computer and fuel pump. The engine light continues to come on time after time. The wiring harness arrived this week after 7 weeks only to discover Hyundai sent the wrong one after being hand made in Korea. Now they tell me they have another one coming from Alabama, amazing how that got there. On top of this problem, since we bought the car new, we have had constant steering problems with the car which cant seem to be fixed, along with the alternator pulsating and the battery going dead. After contacting Hyundai Canada several times, I keep getting the run around and they will not put me in contact with someone that has some decision making power. This car is unsafe to be on the road as it self accelerates when the engine light is on.

We received a new car warranty with 4 years remaining and a used car warranty which would replace the new car warranty for additional 10 years. We took our car to Merced Hyundai for servicing. They had serviced our car before. I said the engine was making a funny sound. I spoke to the technician who said that Hyundai and Kia engines had been having breakdowns. They begin to work on the car and suddenly they ran into some difficulties. Suddenly Hyundai wanted all kinds of paper work. This went for some time. I mentioned our warranties. Hyundai Corp. said they do have a new car and used car warranty. They could proceed with repairs with no cost to us. Then the nightmare began.Suddenly they couldnt find parts for our car. The mechanics have been wonderful. They have been looking everywhere. Hyundai Corp. seems like they could care less. At this date we are still waiting for parts to complete the repairs. We are senior citizens my wife is 74 and I am 78. We are on Social Security with part time jobs to make ends meet. Since Hyundai said they could not give us a loaner, we have had to rent a car for seven (7) weeks now. This is a small fortune to us. We have had to go into our savings account to pay for this. We are running out of money. We have talked to Hyundais customer complaint service. All they say is that they are working on it?? Lately, for the past two weeks they have not returned any of our calls for updates on our complaint. Regina seems to have disappeared. We are running out of money and need help. WE NEED OUR CAR!! As of this date, they are still waiting for parts to repair our car. Soon we will be forced to file for bankruptcy because we have to pay the $300 a week to rent a car....for no reason since Hyundai has turned their backs on us. We will have to give up our rental because there is no more money to pay for it....so, we will no longer be able to get to our jobs. Our golden years have become a waste and we are terrified!Frank and Joyce

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz in May 2012. In November 2012 the alternator failed. I replaced the alternator at a local garage for the sum of $489. In August 2014 I received a notice from Hyundai about a recall because the value cover was leaking oil into the alternator causing it to fail. The notice indicated that if I had previously paid for repairs the next instruction would provide instructions for reimbursement. I called the claim telephone number and they gave me a claim number and instructed me to get the vehicle checked at a dealership and then send the documentation to them. I told the dealership that I had replaced the alternator. After the repair they said the current alternator had oil in it so it had to be replaced as well. I sent all the documents to Hyundai and the reply was that.... there was no proof the first alternator was damaged by the oil leak... the recall wasnt to replace alternators and the warranty on the vehicle had expired In May 2012. This is really a slimy reply as it was their engineers (maybe US govt?) that determined there was a design problem. They have denied a legitimate claim because they found some wiggle room. This is not the mark of a company where one should buy their products. Im going to badmouth them every chance I get. If I can convince one or two people over the next several years not to buy their product they will have lost more than I had requested for reimbursement.

Briefly, after I got in my car and closed my door, it didnt latch well. I had been having problems with it lately. So while I was moving, I opened and then closed it again but while I was closing it, the lock mechanism engaged and as it was about to latch and lock, it bounced back open. So I quickly reached for it to grab it as a vehicle was approaching. I was in a parking lot at the time traveling at about 15mph. It had swung open so far that when I reached for it, my momentum shifted in such a way that I actually fell out of the car landing on the pavement. I was traveling at about 15mph. My car struck a parked vehicle. Damage to it was minimal. Damage to mine was significant. No pedestrians were struck, but I sustained a neck injury.

The 2017 Hyundai Tucson drives nice, is roomy, and is much better gas mileage than our previous minivan. However, I really miss sliding doors, which we were used to on our other vehicles. I wish the Tucson had a power trunk and Im not happy with the radio as it doesnt show song titles like our previous model did. Nevertheless, it was our first time leasing so it made the vehicle quite affordable. The Tucson had a better price point than comparable models. It is also physically very attractive and is a beautiful color turquoise. It has a very modern looking interior and exterior as well.

I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. After the second week, found the passenger outer door handle doesnt work properly. So I called my salesman, made the appointment to bring the car in. While having this problem, the car hobbles every morning. Dealership told me it was the tires, and there is nothing they can do about it. The tires will smooth out in an half a mile. Well this every day thing stinks! On top of it the driver’s seat creaks, and now has somehow gone away, and after waxing it for the first time I find blemishes in the paint. Nothing you can do about it, it will just look worse if you fix it. The biggest problem is the Blue Link telecommunications in the car. It is terrible. It was so poor. I was calling Blue Link every day with issues like, why wont the car start with the phone, why wont it unlock the doors, and the maps they use are google, which are not updated often, so the car has no idea on where to take you. The whole car after one month just feels like Ive owned it for years, like a used car. I will never purchase a Hyundai again. I tried it, not worth it.

Whatever you do when you buy a Hyundai, carry Emergency Roadside with your insurance company. DO NOT RELY ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP SERVICE! Especially when it comes to your safety! Locked keys in car, as well as money, credit cards, and of course, cell phone. Only had new Accent about 4 months, decided she has it out for me. Ive never had such bad luck with any of the possibly 20 cars Ive owned. Im not here to write all my complaints about this gas guzzling, gutless, cheap economy car. But the 800 # on the window? Scrap it off and toss it. Wont do any good, unless you have your phone, flashlight, eyeglasses, and nothing better to do than stand in the rain, at night, in a sketchy hood in the dark fighting off bums for almost three hours. I dont care what youve heard about Hawaii and Aloha spirit! Most Local People HATE ** people and do not like to be bothered by us in time of need, no way no how. Ive lived here many years and can tell you Aloha is a farse, like, an honest politician. Kid at gas station did NOT appreciate my asking to use the business phone for an emergency, then called number on car door, was still daylight so could read vin #. Took forever to answer all the questions, then the customer service guy said he needed callback #. Told him I didnt have one available, the business phone was not happening, and my phone is locked in car. I was very descriptive of my location, no callback # available but was assured, within an hour??? I would be assisted but need to stay by car. So hour and a half go by, no one. I reluctantly asked kid to use phone again, called 800 # again, they had no record of my first call, so again they want my vin #, dark now cant see it, my name, phone #, email address couldnt find my ownership anywhere, they need a call back #, Im pissed at this point. They would not be able to promise help without callback #. So tried to break out back window, kid from gas station finally feeling sorry for poor 60 yr old woman in the rain and the dark, assisted me with calling a nearby locksmith. Almost 3 hrs later and $250 cash!!! Not even gonna bother with asking for any refund, ya already know theres fine print somewhere excluding the hardship I went through. So, because the car is crap, roadside service is crap, warranty will be crap when I tell em to shove the $60, less than 1000 mile, every three month oil change, without even so much as a vacuum job. Wait til they see the back window I tried to bang out with a rock! Screw it. Crappy car. Crappy service.

I purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Sonata from the Liberty Hyundai dealership in New Hudson, MI and experienced engine problems about a year later. I took the car into the dealership and was told I would receive a loaner car when they got some in stock. After continuously calling for a few days, I was told they still didnt have any loaners. After a while they called and told me that I could not get a loaner because they needed authorization to tear down my engine. So basically the service department manager lied about giving me one in the first place. He then told me his rep authorized to tear down my engine to see what was the cause of it not running correctly and burning oil. They told me I had sludge in my engine and the oil was never changed even though I have receipts to prove the oil was changed. The manager then said the place I got it changed from really didnt change the oil and I would have to go back to them. He then said as a result, my warranty was void and it would cost me $4,200-$8,000 to replace my engine. This was not the only problem I had with this dealership. The service manager also told me there is a recall on my car. I asked if they fixed the problem for the recall and he said, “No, unless we have the engine fixed.” When I first bought the car, they told me about a tire warranty, which is also a waste of money! They told me how great it was, and that if anything goes wrong with any of my tires, the company that offers the insurance would come out change my tire and cover expenses. I learned firsthand that wasn’t true at all. I had a flat tire and called the insurance company. They told me I needed to take it in to a reputable tire place such as Belle Tire. I took it to Belle Tire and had to pay for a new tire. The insurance company told me they wouldn’t pay for the replacement, and I come to find out if they did, it would be as a reimbursement. I was only happy that the flat tire didn’t happen when I was driving or on the side of the road, because they wouldn’t have come out to my location immediately. I am absolutely displeased and angered by their service! It seemed as soon as I pulled into the service department for them to look at the car, they were not trying to help - they were telling me lies and saying anything just so they wouldnt have to fix it. Not only will I never buy from Hyundai again, I will tell those who ask me about getting a Hyundai that it is not worth the trouble. Lord forbid something goes wrong, and it will with their cars, because they will not fix it.

First of all. My first mistake was buying a used 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car was OK but then after some time the car started stalling and I had my 4 year old daughter with me. Just when I was getting off the freeway it stalled on me twice. The car would make a clicking noise. Took it to the dealership and they said it had to do something with the steering wheel after I paid for a diagnostic check. Anyways it was too much and they said it didnt affect the car. I only ended up purchasing a new battery. Then my car totally gives up on me and stalls. Doesnt want to turn on anymore. Had to get it towed to Hyundai in Cerritos on the last week of February. It needs a new engine and hyundai is taking care of it and a few other cars with the same issue. And its been quite some time now and still have not received the engine and no update on whats going on with my car. But they did call me 3/25/17 to offer me a SPECIAL offer for this recall campaign due to the inconvenience. And at the dealership they hit me with yes you can get a new car BUT you need to put $3000 down. I understand I would be receiving a good deal (employee discount) but this is not helpful at all. Im struggling not having a car and not getting a loaner. and I reviewed all the complaints... its unbelievable. I should have done research before going with Hyundai. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

We purchased a new Hyundai in December of 2013 from Hall Hyundai of Elizabe
We purchased a new Hyundai in December of 2013 from Hall Hyundai of Elizabeth City. We had oil changes done in excess of requirements and used the best oil always. As time went along we noticed our car kept getting louder and louder as we drove. I took it to Hall Hyundai of Elizabeth City to have it looked at. The service dept. girl (Aamanda **) had me come out and look at something dealing with the tires. She showed me that the tires were wearing out in a choppy manner on the inside of the rear tires and that was what was making the loud sound as we drove; and that we simply needed to get a complete realignment and new tires. But then, thankfully, she showed me that the front tires were doing the same thing. The reason I say thankfully is that as soon as she showed me that, I immediately knew that this was not an issue that I should have to care for. It was a defect in the Hyundai Elantra suspension design and that they were trying to pass the blame and cost and problem ownership on to the consumer, and absolving themselves of any responsibility of causation through their own product design. After we went back inside the service dept., she tried to blame it on that I might not have had the tires rotated up to requirements. But she wasnt thinking properly again. These tires only rotate front to back and back to front, not side to side; therefore negating the thought of non-rotation problem causation. For it was happening in the front and back tires, which it would still have happened even if we rotated the tires everyday. Then, I said to her that this was a deeper problem and that tires were junk and that it wasnt the need for me to have a realignment. After that she went in the back and I never saw her again. So I left my name and number (of which she already had) with an elderly lady at the back service stand and asked her to have Aamanda call me when she figures out whatever she is figuring out, and she never called me. Subsequently, when I got home, I researched on the internet this issue and I found very many reports of the same problem dating back many years. Some of them mentioned in their report that they did have their proofs of tire rotations as needed and that Hyundai still blamed it on the car owner. My question, if it was an issue of the car owner not doing things properly as Hyundai dealers and Hyundai itself contends, how is it possible that it is exactly the same issue happening to thousands of Hyundai owners over a span of years? Simply put; its NOT anything that the consumer is doing wrong, and IT IS an issue that HYUNDAI has ownership of (it IS an issue concerning a defect in the suspension of the automobile ~ FACTLY), and they need to be made and forced to rectify the problem with all owners that are dealing and have dealt with the issue.

I currently own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata but decided to get a new car 2 years ago. Not knowing what I really wanted, I decided to lease a new 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT. Prior to the end of the lease in January 2019, I received a letter from the dealership stating that they will cover termination fees, excess wear and tear, disposition fees and over mileage fees. I leased a new 2018 Hyundai Kona in August of 2018. To my surprise, I recently received a bill from Hyundai Motor Finance Company for over $1,300. I have made countless phone calls to both the dealership and finance company to no avail. The dealer says they have done everything they can and do not understand the charges, the finance company says that they are just going by my contract and here I am stuck in the middle with a bill. I ended up paying the balance for loss of sale, a term I heard only after turning in the car. The Hyundai Motor Finance Company has even charged me $65.00 a hubcap for curb rash; $260 just for hubcaps! When speaking with one of their representatives, she explained that they want the car back in the same condition I got it in; In other words, they do not accept normal wear and tear. They are a third party just like any other bank and really dont have anything to do with what dealerships tells me. Unless you are willing to read all the fine print in your contract at the dealership, which is kind of hard because all they really want is to have you walk away with a car, take the contract home and read it before you sign for after it has your signature, you are legally bound to its terms. Dont expect the dealership to explain to you important terms like loss of sale; the difference you are responsible for if the car is not sold at auction for a price that covers the remainder of the lease balance. Call the Lease End department before you turn in the car and arrange for a pre-inspection so you can fix everything at a fraction of the cost. I could have replaced all four hubcaps for less than $100. I now purchased the excess wear and tear insurance for the new vehicle; lets see how that goes?

In January of this year (2017) I was on my way home from hockey when my engine failed. I was just turning onto the highway and beginning my acceleration when the engine just about stalled. I was only thankfully doing about 30 km/hr and put the vehicle into neutral and pulled over to the shoulder. I shut the engine off and got under the hood for visual inspection. Upon checking the Oil there was barely any registering on the dipstick (oil is checked during every refuel). Thankfully I carry 2 litres with me at all times. It took both of these to register on dipstick. I turned the engine back on and with no warning lights and smoother running engine, I carried on my way home keeping speeds less than 70 km/hr as the immediate lack of oil concerned me.About 5 minutes from home both engine and oil warning lights came on, and the vehicle was beginning to run rough again. Once home I again checked my oil and this time there was nothing on the dipstick. I left the vehicle in my garage until appointment at my Hyundai dealer. I do my own oil changes every 5,000 km with recommended full synthetic 5w30. The only leak I have ever found was a very small one around oil pan. The dealer inspected and concluded I require a new lower block and that without my receipts they wont honor the warranty.Having done some research online in days between failure and dealer appointment I found multiple accounts of the same failure happening, some within less than a 1,000 kms of having factory dealer oil change done. So when my service informed of no warranty coverage I asked how is that the cause of my failure and others too. Was given a shrug... So the quote for repairs was well beyond my financial means, having lost my job. The dealer had no additional options for me and left me feeling blamed and written off. Then out comes the 1.4 million vehicle recall outlining the possible failure that I experienced in January. I contacted Hyundai Customer service via email April 8, 2017, they responded with a question April 10, I replied and now all I can get is an auto-reply message. I called on April 12, and was told that my VIN falls within the date range affected and that was about it. Asked if I should contact dealer again and was told up to me. I have been without my vehicle since the failure occurred and now without any answers.

Hyundai Azera is a cross between a 4 door sedan and a sports car. 6 cylinder gas engine has plenty of power from 0-60 and fuel mileage is 21-27 mph which is decent economy. It is built solidly and provides a smooth ride even over bad roads. GPS and heated seats are standard. FWD provides solid traction in snow up to 6 inches. Lots of good driver safety features at an affordable price. Hyundai’s 5/60/100K warranty is best in the industry. Blue Link app feature provides remote start, SOS, and other invaluable features at a reasonable yearly cost after the original B to B warranty expires. Hyundai discontinued manufacturing the Azera in 2017. The only drawback is if purchased used, the powertrain warranty is reduced to 60K and prepaid MTCE cannot be purchased unless it is a certified preowned vehicle (CPO).

My wife and I purchased a brand new 2011 Hyundai Tucson based on the consumer safety ratings. We had a baby on the way so safety was important to us. On September 23rd 2011, six months after driving the vehicle off of the lot, I got a frantic call from my wife saying the car was smoking. I told her to pull over and I would come get her and we would call a tow truck.Within two minutes I received another call. This time the car, she told me, was engulfed in flames. Se narrowly escaped being trapped in the car, since the automatic locks were locking and unlocking in a ghostly manner and was trapped momentarily in the car, along with our 4 month old son, inhaling electrical smoke. Thankfully they both got out alive. The investigation concluded an electrical fire had started and the vehicle was a total loss. I have never experienced such rudeness on the phone as I attempted to contact many representatives from Hyundai Consumer Affairs. Hyundai is a disgusting company. They told us that Americas Best Warranty did not cover this. Never buy a Hyundai. Your life may depend on it.

With less than 600 miles on my new Equus, it is in the shop because of a failed valve cover gasket, so I am told. It obviously was leaking when I bought it, as the very next morning, I was cleaning up oil drips from my garage floor. Because I bought it from a dealer some distance from my home, they could not see the evidence of oil leakage and opined that I was seeing air conditioner condensate from a drain line in the vicinity of the area I described as the problem area. After a few more days, and a trip I already had committed to, I got my local Hyundai dealer to pick it up and take a look. They called back and claiming to be astounded, confirmed that the fluid was indeed oil and was coming from a leaking valve cover gasket. I really like the car, but am not the least happy that I now have a vehicle whose engine has had to be repaired, though not the real guts of the machine. Still, as what is held out as their super luxury, top-of-the-line vehicle, this is a pretty damning circumstance. Who was asleep on the production or parts supply line? Anyone else have similar engine quality issues? I have not heard back because the parts must be ordered and then installed. Stand by. SO far, I havent been able to judge the service response.

On Jan. 21, 2014 I purchased a Certified Pre-owned 4 door, 2010 Hyundai Accent GLS from CarMax in Hickory, N.C. I was assured that this was a safe, reliable car, with great gas mileage. I took the car back twice within 3 days because of random noise under the hood but was told it was nothing to worry about. On Jan. 28, 2014 the car was totaled in a snow storm in Marion, N.C. while driving 40-50mph in a 70mph zone when I hit a truck that had already wrecked in my lane of traffic. I tried to slow down but the brakes locked up and I slid into the truck. I hit the truck so hard that it exploded my battery, computer, and radiator on impact and turned off. But NONE of the 6 airbags worked in my new certified pre-owned DEATH TRAP. My head bounced off of the steering wheel and then bounced back to the headrest. I suffered 3 torn ligaments in my neck, whiplash, etc. The foreign P.O.S was supposed to have 2 front, 2 side, and 2 overhead airbags and none worked. I couldve been hurt a lot worse or killed that day having no protection. The seat belt tightened so bad that I had bruising for over a week across my chest and stomach from the seat belt that felt like someone took a ball bat to me. If you have a death-wish, this is the perfect car to buy! CarMax and Hyundai passed the blame of course. CarMax said that it was the manufacturers fault and Hyundai said that it was because I failed to slow down! I asked for a copy of the black box reading results from Hyundais engineering analyzer at Hyundai Motor America in Fountain, Valley, CA and was told that the report was classified information that I could not see! The reading told the real story of why the non-working airbags almost killed me Im sure, but I was not allowed to see. Total BS! I have had to pay over $2500 for a car I drove 7 days. BEWARE! Dont BUY A HYUNDAI!

Hyundai Getz, repair of tail light - My partner recently cracked the plastic tail light on her car. Being a Hyundai, she took it to Hyundai in Brighton Victoria and was quoted $250 for the part and installation. It sounded steep so I bought the part from Repco ($60) and replaced it in about six minutes. I am no car expert. My dissatisfaction is that we were about to get ripped off by Hyundai. It makes me wonder why we would take the car for a service anywhere near Hyundai. There was absolutely no loyalty shown to us as Hyundai customers. I am not sure if Mazda or Holden would do the same, but this performance of customer service was appalling.

I currently own this 2015 Sonata limited and have seen very little of it lately. I purchased this car in October 2015. After around seven months of ownership, my battery went dead. I called service. They jump the car and figured that was the end of the problem since it was a very cold morning. A few days later the same thing happened again. Called the service. They jump the car. This time I drove it to Star Hyundai service. The manager at that time, Mike told me that there was nothing wrong with the battery and they were not replacing it. This was after two hours of trying to diagnose the problem. He tell me if it happens again I should have the car towed in. That is exactly what I did a few days later. He still refused to admit that there was something wrong with the battery. I then contacted the dealer whom I bought the car from who put the screws to him and he finally changed the battery. I thought this was the end of the problem. Wrong! This problem has repeated itself several times over the last few months. I have had three new batteries since the original battery put in to this car. I only have around 16,000 miles on the car. After the issue had escalated I contacted their customer care department. I was given a case number and a really horrible case worker. He never answered his phone, was very slow to get back to me. Kyle **. They advertise great customer service. HORRIBLE!!! I was forced to hire a lemon law lawyer. My car is presently in the shop going on 26 days. They could not find the reason for the battery failure. Fortunately for me, I was given a loaner. Now I am just waiting to see what they are going to do as far as replacing the car or offering me a buyback. I certainly dont want a replacement. This was my first and my last Hyundai purchase.

Recently, my brakes began failing on my 50k mile Genesis coupe. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as a HECU failure similar to the basis of a recall on Genesis sedans. There are other similar failures noted on the NTSB website and various websites. I called Hyundai as the problem is a design defect. Their only response was to tell me that they wont do anything because my warranty is up. In the past, a fire hazard in Sonatas that was the subject of a recall was fixed by setting the cars to stop working if there is danger of fire. Hyundai is not a dependable car, or company and puts its drivers at risk.

I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screami
I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screaming from the rooftop how awful Hyundai has been in regard to this MAJOR recall. The engines was recalled in 2017. I had it check. ONE YEAR later it blew while I was driving it with kids in the car. The only way I could get urgency from anyone at Hyundai was to merge a call with corporate and the dealership together because neither could lie to me at that point.Today 6 weeks later I am attempting to get my claim reimbursement and I just noticed NO ONE contacted me to tell me that there was missing documentation. So I called the claim department. They informed me that not only do I have to submit a receipt for the towing I needed to show a bank statement. Additionally, the documents that the supervisor Kaitlynn told me I was missing was completely different than the documents that Guadalupe (my claim agent) listed on my claim site. So had I not called I would have submitted documents that I didnt need to submit prolonging the entire bunk process set in place. Now the dealership... I picked up my car and left a message on 9/29 asking for a return call. I called again today 10/9 because I had no return call. They listed a oil change sticker on my window for 8500 from the day I picked up my car. When I spoke to someone today they stated oh no. It needs to be 3750 miles and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? I just picked up the car. NO. Nor will I take it back for additional service. This is a disaster and will be the LAST Hyundai I buy. BUYER BEWARE. This is not a good brand that values customer service. This is a cluster of a company that is barely getting by.

My daughter purchased a certified pre owned 2013 Sonata limited turbo. She took it to have regular maintenance, so she took good care of the car. On February 2017 she was driving down the road when she heard a noise from under the hood, so her friend told her to pull over so he could check it out, when he lifted up the hood there was a red glow. He immediately told her to get out of the car. Within an minute her car was engulfed in flames. The car burnt so bad, all that was left was the trunk of the car. Had he not told her to pull over my daughter and her friend would have died in that car.She notified Hyundai about this. For one because it was still under warranty and two her car burnt to the ground for no reason out of nowhere. They took about 2 months to get back to her and when they did they only offered her what they call fair market value, which was way lower than what she paid for the car. With what they offered she couldnt even touch the kind of car she had and is still making payments on. They were rude and the one guy hung up on me when I got upset with his attitude. We have called repeatedly trying to talk to someone in charge but to no avail. We have heard from a friend of hers that someone on Facebook has had their car go up in flames also. Hyundai does not stand by their product and they also have the worse customer relations that I have ever experienced. Never ever would I recommend buying a Hyundai car.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I got it brand new in 2006 as a birthday gift
I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I got it brand new in 2006 as a birthday gift from my parents and I loved it ever since, but the dealer is full of it. I recently had my air bag light go on. The one that went off was the passenger occupant sensor in the passenger seat - it registers the weight of the person. I am well out of warranty and I am fine with that. I called up Freehold Hyundai, in NJ, and at first they wanted $125 for a diagnostic and then $400 to fix the problem. Since when does a 23-year-old have that kind of money? So I explained how I knew the part was important, that I just didnt have the money. So the man I spoke with just apologized and said it was the dealer who has the charge. After that I got annoyed. I said, Youre not BMW. You can have the car back because if youre not going to work with me then see ya. I am done. The dealer, all of a sudden, said he could fix it for $200. That threw me off because now suddenly you can do it for less? Shady. So then I thought about it and talked to my dad and we decided to hold off. Might I also add, I work in the automotive business and know about cars, especially my car. So I took my car to my job and had the Master Technician pull the code and reset my air bag light. The only reason I did not have my job fix it was because the part is a dealer thing. So finally on Saturday of last week, I saw the service manager come walking in. As I was ringing him up, I explained to him my problem. He said leave him a message with my VIN and he would see what he could do. Okay, great, I thought because maybe he would look up if it was a recall. My co-worker then suggested to look it up on my own for a recall and let them know and that is exactly what I did. When I called them up, I asked for a recall to be checked on the vehicle and left a message to the guy who checks that. He called me back and said, I really dont know where you got your information from, but there is no such thing as a recall. So I replied, Wonderful. Now what? The guy said, Come in for a diagnostic and well take it from there. I then said, This is the problem. You guys want 125 dollars for a code that my Master Technician gets for me for free and he pulled the B1448 code. I figured he would know what I was talking about considering he works in the service department, but no, I was wrong. He then replied back to me saying Well, you see at our dealership, we have machines where we get a code that actually tells us what is wrong not a numerical code. I then said, Really? Wow. Because what came up with that code was that it was the occupant sensor and it is a defect. I am surprised you dont know that based off the code number. He replied back with, Well, we need a diag on the car. At this point I was irritated and said, There is a diag fee right? He then went, Well, not necessarily. We have a goodwill program where we try and get them to fix it, but it is difficult for us to do that. At this point I checked out of the conversation because I had enough of being treated like Im the idiot when in actuality, I am much younger than this guy and a female, and am telling him whats wrong with the car. At this point, I called back to the dealer asking to speak to the service manager who resolved my issue by splitting the cost of the diagnostic in half with me.I was all set to go with an appointment when I had a gut feeling something was still wrong. I went into work on a Friday morning and was almost in tears over this. My manager then went onto a website that allows us to check for recalls and found the recall. He printed the paper out and said, They tried to take advantage of you, heres the paper. So I got mad even more. How can a retail manager of an automotive store find the recall when the actual dealer knows nothing about it? Way to go, Freehold Hyundai, I applaud you for trying to scam me. So I went to lunch and called another Hyundai dealer who told me then that there is a recall for three separate codes on the sensor that is defective in my car. The woman I spoke to explained that if the diagnostic shows one of the codes, their dealership will fix it under warranty. So I went in to them. It turned up to be one of the codes the woman said and the dealer was amazing. They kept my car that day, gave me a loaner car, and kept me informed about everything they were doing. Hey, Freehold Hyundai, why did another dealer find the recall, when you supposedly said there wasnt any recall? I strongly suggest hiring people who know what they are doing. When I went to the other dealer to fix my car, I told them what happened and the staff all looked at me and said, What is wrong with them? They tried to take advantage of you. Next time come to us. They made me so happy. I now have my car back, the part is fixed and I am so happy. Thanks, Freehold for making me feel stupid. You lost a customer and many more.

I have leased 2011 Genesis Coupe Vehicle id: **, returned car last December
I have leased 2011 Genesis Coupe Vehicle id: **, returned car last December (2013), after I received an invoice with $400 dispossession fee. I called to dispute this charge since we couldnt remember any reference to this charge; I asked for the copy of the lease. The lease did show the fee next to the column with the total amount. However, the charge shows as the total amount rather than a separate charge. After few attempts and being on hold for long period of time, the recovery department was not willing to consider the circumstances and make an adjustment or to handle us as valued customers. Rather, they made disingenuous comments like we do not make any exceptions and no one ever receive credit for this fee was an answer I received from one of the customer service representatives. The recovery department did not show any sign of sympathy or understanding and furthermore, did not show signs of any of willingness to negotiate or to hear us out to consider the situation.I have leased 2 other cars from Infinity and we had same issue with dispossession fee. After presenting the issue with our points to the finance department they have reduced it down by more than 50%. This is an example of companies who are willing to help their customers and promote them to stay loyal to their brand willingness to compromise. And here are the points of my argument: 1. Hyundai or the dealer did not highlight the fees term, or made it noticeable at any time prior to this invoice. 2. We have returned the car with substantial lower mileage (25,419 instead of 36,000). 3. We were told by Hyundais Finance department that the fee would be waived if we leased or purchased another Hyundai vehicle. 4. We will be leasing or purchasing 2 vehicles in the near future (90 days).5. Customer satisfaction.I believe its fair to consider waiving or at least substantially reduce the fee for the compelling reasons mentioned above. Unfortunately the recovery department failed to acknowledge and handle the issue in a business manner. Thus, I am writing this letter to try and correct a problem before it changes our mind on Hyundai as car we purchase.

I bought a 2020 Tuscan Ultimate on Saturday 5/23/2020 from Crain Hyundai Fayetteville and the salesman could not find the navigation SD card and said come back Tuesday and we will have have it for you. I came back on Tuesday and they had one but it didnt fit. He said, I will have to order you one and when you bring your car in for the window tint I will have one. Well took it in last Friday and no SD card. Asked about it and was told they would try and find one if they can. At that point am up set and contact Hyundai directly for one. They give me the navigation company number to call and I did. They were willing to sell me another one. I said no thank you. I want the one I already bought. I called Hyundai consumer affairs back and talked to a case manager named Vanilla and she stated she called the sales manager and he would take care of it and that was all Hyundai was willing to do. 3 week after I bought my Car still no navigation or Blue link due to navigation not working. I filed a Better business bureau claim and got a call from the customer relations manager from the dealership. Found out the SD cad was never ordered and that he personally would make sure it was done. Bottom line Hyundai didnt care and to me it will be the last one I buy. Hope I will get the cars features working one day as they should.

I am another person tricked by this dealership with the $50 test drive promotion. The salesman on site confirmed that the dealership does participate in the promotion AND he welcomed me to take part. He said that he, himself, received the $50. The salesman proceeded to say that he needed to take a copy of my drivers license. He also took my name and email address. He showed me a car on the lot but did not take me for a test drive. He said he had what he needed from me and his manager would process the promotion by the next day. I was supposed to receive it in an email. After nothing happened I asked the manager and it was obvious they never had any intention of following though on promises. First the manager told me that I was not eligible because the promotion was only good for one person in each household. Of course that made no sense because no one in my household ever took part. Then he decided on another bogus excuse and said that the terms and conditions of the promotion allowed him to not participate. This is AFTER they TOOK my information under false pretenses. They took a copy of my ID. They took my email address. And since then, they have had the nerve to use my email address to send me junk email!! What they DID NOT DO is what they promised. As another person commented, it is obvious their word does not mean much. Be careful of this place. Its hard to tell what these guys are up to?? Better to stay away!

They damaged my firewall, and then 2 weeks later the car is back in the shop for the same engine failures. They are refusing to fix my firewall which clearly they damaged taking the engine out of my car. Unreal... Worst car experience of my life. Oh.. and when I brought the car back, it was 5:30, they close at 6. I had to fight with them to even keep my car. Kendall Hyundai could care less about its customers. I am 87 years old and between the rough ride and now this starting problem, Im very upset that I have to fight to get my money back. This should be a recall item. What do we do? Doesnt implied warranty state that I will get a car that I can start and that I wouldnt be stranded in 105 deg. heat like I did? It is a serious health and safety Issue.

Then to the Hyundai where I purchased the car since it was a different dealer. Then told me the problem was normal and pointed to a far off car and said something like all doors are like that. 2006 Hyundai Sonata Airbag System Failures. Very well maintained (for life of vehicle) by top notch local dealer + no accident history - reports Driver Side seat belt buckle err code, Airbag light on/airbag system not activated. Dealer attempted OC3 test-passenger seat voluntary recall issue - could not complete test-buckle error. Replaced buckle assy: same code + light. Dash opened, console removed, driver seat removed: airbag system harness inspection, reset connections - new code appears: drivers belt retractor assy. Replaced belt retractor assy. NO CODE! AND airbag system still not working/airbag light indicator on. Dealer advised this expensive problem is WELL-KNOWN to 06, 07 Sonata owners: sole viable solution=replace air bag system wiring harness. Ordered part # on harness - wrong harness delivered (connectors in wrong location on harness/dont meet up with car connectors. Ordered again, same result (dealership noted - these harnesses arrive with bag torn open (not first mechanic to order it for same problem and outcome). Local Hyundai Territory Engineer (troubleshooter for large problems) asked to visit for discussions - right part #/wrong part. Solution = Ive dealt with this 3x recently and in this area - order this part #. Guess what, new part is $750/double old part cost. New harness reaches into back seat area as well and causes double the labor costs >$1,000. $1K already invested in parts and labor - when faced with another $2K in harness parts & labor & literally they will provide no guarantee this will solve it short term let alone long term.Contacted Hyundai USA for financial assistance - denied due to out of warranty + 2nd owner/not original (how convenient for them). As mentioned, 3x 06 Sonata owners in this territory RECENTLY EXPERIENCED IDENTICAL ISSUES and after getting tough with Hyundai USA, received buy-backs of their cars.

I was a supportive Hyundai customer, owning a 2003 Tiburon GT and a recently purchased 2013 Veloster, until this disheartening event. My airbag light illuminated on my Tiburon, so I did a little research online and came to find that the 2003 Tiburon was recalled for this. The cause is actually the wiring within the seat belt mechanism. You can actually manipulate the light by wiggling the seat belt holder. So, I contacted Hyundai Customer Care America, spoke to a pleasant and professional attendant, and after her research, she told me that it was a recall item and it would be covered by Hyundai; and she said I should go to a dealer asap. It sounds perfect, but that was soon about to change. I went to the dealer, left the car, and was then contacted by the service department and was told that this was not covered. I told them the agent’s name, case number and campaign number, but this did not change the situation. They told me that the repair would be $293. I sent off an email shortly after to Hyundai consumer affairs and CEO of Hyundai America. I received a response back from consumer affairs with a negative result again. You would think that Hyundais foremost concern would be the safety for their customers, seeing as this was a safety issue, with a possibility of the airbag deploying. When I wrote to them, I told them how disheartened I was, and in return, they told me, in closing, thank you for being a part of their Hyundai family. How patronizing is that!

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Elantra in Feb. 2011. The only reason I bought this car was for the gas mileage advertisement, 29 city/40 hwy. I was getting 22 city and 40 hwy. This was acceptable, even though the city was 7 miles lower. After my 3000 mile oil change, I am now getting 16 miles city. I have taken my car to the dealer. They said they could not gauge city driving. I asked them what is the problem. They tested the car on the highway going 30 miles. They said they averaged 34 miles. I am totally dissatisfied with the low mileage. Most of my driving is city/partial highway and I am hard time living with this situation. In 2010, I had a Nissan Altima, loaded and got 18 city miles and in the mid 30s highway. Presently, I am averaging 177 miles to 10.5 gallons of gas. Is there anything I can do about this?

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe - May 2016 I call Hyundai with concerns about my airbags not deploying and I explained everything to the lady I spoke with and was told they should have deployed. I was offered a new Hyundai. I provided all information, documentation and pictures and everything to my knowledge. I receive a letter from Hyundai consumer affairs in July saying that my case would be closed if I didnt provide information asked for. So I provided it to them at the email provided on letter. David ** called me and stated that if I sent anything else to them he would no longer speak to me and close my case. I provided again which he stated he didnt receive so I called and he wouldnt return my call.I called the number in his email asking for an address to mail the pictures and documentation to and the lady I spoke with told me that she wasnt allowed to give me that information and according to the police report that I was at fault and got what I deserved which most of my phone calls I have witnesses to which was stated because I couldnt really stand or walk so it was put on speaker and held for me. Then once all information was provided I no longer heard from David, could not get in contact with. It took months of complaints and calls which was aggravating. Then I received a call after the car had been auctioned off that I told David I had retained an attorney which was untrue and that I never signed and returned the release. So he closed my case when I provided original release and proof. I never said that which Hyundai consumer affairs had in their records. Also he called me back and said according to the pictures and documentation that the car didnt perform as it should have, that Hyundai wanted to settle to provide medical bills and all cost. This was October 2016. He said it was approved for partial coverage which he would not explain meant and then said they were leaning towards full settlement and December 1 2016 was last contact I received where David asked me what would it take to make this go away and to take in consideration that my vehicle was not equipped with side airbags.Once I proved that it was by the vehicle documentation he said, Wow okay that changes everything, that he would call me in a few days, that they were going to have a settlement offer and then called back that evening saying that he needed the police report which a month before stated it wasnt needed to proceed and even tho it was provided in july 2016. After that he would no longer return my calls or emails. I finally got one response saying they got the police report and was waiting on last sheet that goes with it that they requested nothing else. Now last week he called saying my claim was denied, that the officers statement stated that I was in vehicle not restrained and specifically that side airbags deployed even tho they already got statement from my insurance company saying they didnt and will not provide this report.I supposedly signed saying my airbags deployed and I wasnt wearing a seatbelt. I have pictures proving nothing deployed. The way this was handled and how I was treated being told from day one I got what I deserved, the constant threats to close my case, the remarks that if Hyundai felt that my case was worth it they would investigate, constantly being called a liar and the excruciating pain I was and still am in just doesnt seem right at all. I expected better treatment and respect from a company.

On January 8, 2012, I leased a 2012 Sonata. Today is January 21, 2012, the car has 460 miles on the odometer. Today is also the first snow day of the season. At 5 oclock this morning, while traveling approximately 20-25 mph on level ground, I was approaching a red light. The brakes locked and the car started sliding. I tried pumping them but kept sliding.Luckily there was no one in front of me. I released the brake while. sliding into the intersection so I could have more control of the vehicle, turning the corner to avoid incoming traffic. Ive been driving for 39 years, since I was 18 years old. I was not speeding. (To be continued, after a visit with service dept. at South Shore Hyundai / Valley Stream, NY)

Love this Hyundai SUV! We have over 200,000 miles on it and it just keeps going and going! Weve gone on many road trips and it handles like a dream. Weve traveled from CA to Florida a couple of times and never any problems. The car holds all our luggage on road trips, keeps us protected and fun to drive. I love the heater/air conditioner, smooth ride, the rear seat folds down to hold our luggage on long trips and for any big items we may buy and very comfortable to sleep in if we need to. But I wish they would make it a little better on mileage.

Never buy a Hyundai!!! I bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Limited and I have had nothing but regrets. Everything that could possibly go wrong, HAS! I had the famous engine failure in December 2016. It just stalled and seized on the highway and the useless Agincourt Hyundai dealership in Toronto that I took it to DID NOT EVEN PRESENT THE CASE TO HYUNDAI CANADA INITIALLY. They just asked me to bring $9,000 for an engine replacement. I had to call Hyundai Canada myself, and they also tried to void my warranty until I threatened legal action. They finally gave me a new engine and less than a week later, my driveway was an oil pool, the engine oil leak was so bad that my dipstick dried up in days!Besides the engine issue, there has been countless MIL (check engine light) illuminations: from 02 sensor to catalytic converter to issues with the gutless turbo the car has. The shocks and struts on the car are so useless too, they have been changed severally. The wheel alignment is the worst, its like it loses alignment every 3000 km! I do not drive badly, but somehow this piece of garbage always pulls to one side even after an alignment. The sunroof creaks! My backup camera chooses when its going to work, on other days it just shows me a blue screen when in reverse! The sound system is total nonsense (I have the dimension system)! I REPEAT: DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI!!

Then Getting through, just to get forwarded to another department, which usually gets you disconnected. Total incompetence! Total lack of any basic communication skills or work function. Ive gone to a dealer closer to me, wasted an hour only to be turned down, saying to go to where I bought it from. Then Ive been trying to schedule with another dealer and they wouldnt even respond to me. 2 weeks ago I submitted a complaint to Hyundai consumer affairs and till this day Ive just been ignored after several email exchanges and a phone call from the rep telling me shell call the dealer for me then nothing again. Ive bought more then 10 new cars before and never did a car maker just ignores my service request like Hyundai. Beware how theyll treat you nice, sell you a $30k car and then kick you to the curbs. Purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe in May 2013. It unfortunately came to my attention that despite what Hyundai labels as Americas Best Warranty, that this same warranty will not be honored for the repeat breakdown that also occurred in May 2014. The problem that is being referred to occurred for the first time this past May 2014. When the driver made a left turn on a side street, he heard a loud noise coming from under the car. Upon further inspection, the vehicle was not able to be driven and therefore a flat bed came and towed the vehicle to the closest Hyundai dealership, which was College Park. Once the car was able to be inspected it was determined that the rear differential case cover bolt broke off; (actually it completed sheared in half) which in turn caused damages to the passenger side axle, propeller shaft, shaft assy, and flange assy. After a few days of going between the dealership and the manufacturer it was determined that it would be covered under the warranty and they then arranged for a rental car and began to do the repairs. After a couple of weeks, the car was completed and it was driven without any further issues until the most recent incident, which occurred October 9. Once again, the driver was making a right hand turn coming out of his work-place parking lot. Again there was a loud noise and this time the car was left totally inoperable. Because of the mechanism of the defect the car had to again be placed on a flat bed and towed to the College Park Hyundai once again. Again there was communication between the dealership and the manufacturer, but this time it was determined that it was NOT going to be covered under the exact same warranty that covered it in May; definitely something that was hard to figure out; how a different opinion was made this time. If you compare the work order from both May and October, once again you will see that the rear differential case cover bolt broke off; (again, sheared in half). As you can imagine this then in turn caused damages to the passenger side axle, propeller shaft, shaft assy, and flange assy. The warranty is not going to be honored and base the defect on the operator error or something along the lines of the way the vehicle was being driven. I find it hard to determine how the exact same defect can be covered under the main warranty at one point and then 5 months later have the exact same problem occur and NOT be covered under warranty. In addition, if you look at the repair order from the May event, you will note along the side Limited Warranty; parts and labor warranted 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. So this is yet another warranty that Hyundai is choosing not to honor. I find it very difficult that a company can come to two completely different conclusions on almost identical defects. When we called the consumer affairs division, unfortunately we were not met with the courteous of individuals. And I can’t even blame this on someone having a bad day as with every time that we have had to call the consumer affairs office to try and deal with this problem, we again were met with less than professionalism. After discussing this problem and going between many individuals, you have come to the conclusion that now you are willing to split the repairs 50/50; and we still have not been offered a rental car to use while all of this is figured out. With your latest decision is that after it does get fixed (under warranty or partly under warranty), what warranty (or will there be a warranty) is going to cover these repairs yet again. It is unfortunate that it has come to this. I am hoping that Hyundai would honor the warranty that claims to be the Americas Best Warranty and fix the vehicle. If Hyundai does not consider this under warranty, then what next?? How am I to know what Hyundai warranty they will honor and what warranty they won’t honor. It doesn’t seem fair or ethical that a business manufacturer can decide not to cover a warranty just by saying so. It is a shame that a letter such as this has to be written before Hyundai will consider a different conclusion and come to the realization that the bolt that was sheared in half yet again should and does consist of a defect covered by the warranty. Anyway, after all is said and done they refused to cover it under warranty and estimated repairs at over $6000 dollars. I will never buy a Hyundai ever again and have been telling everyone to run, dont walk as far away from a Hyundai purchase as possible. Whatever happen to the customer is always right. Thank God for Lemon Laws; we will let the courts figure it out.

I bought an Elantra GT with 24,500 miles on it on April 1st. Right away we realized the car had several issues, one of which being the fuel economy. We averaged 17-18 mpg in town and never more than 26-27 on the hwy. Then we noticed a hissing noise when shifting, and a ping/chatter to the engine while accelerating. Then we noticed a metallic ringing when the A/C is on. The CD player was also non-functional. There were some other smaller issues as well, but Hyundai has been working to resolve them. The CD player was fixed, as with some other small things. The engine and transmission noises, poor fuel economy, and metallic ringing, were not able to be diagnosed after several attempts. Now Hyundai is working with me to do a manufacturer Buyback/lemon claim. They are extremely polite, prompt with responses, understanding of my situation and more than willing to help me. Within hours of contacting them via email, I had an open case with its own case number and everything. Currently they are confirming that nothing can be done to fix the car, then we will move forward with the buyback. They have stayed in constant contact, and always in a timely manner. Very pleased with Hyundai overall. If you have a legitimate case, Hyundai will provide legitimate help.

My first experience was when I received the recall notice for my 2006 Sonata about the airbags sensor for front passenger seat. I had Sports Durst in Durham check it when I took it in for service (been a while back) and was told nothing was wrong. Later, when someone over 90 lbs was sitting in seat, the airbag light would indicate that it was turned off. I took it to Crenshaw Hyundai in Burlington where they checked it. They confirmed it was faulty and mailed my seat to California for service. Now, my airbag light is back on again and was told by Crenshaw Hyundai that since it had been repaired, the recall work is no longer under warranty. It seems after reading all these complaints that it would not do any good to have it repaired because the majority says the light comes back on or the airbags failed to deploy in accidents or just deployed for no reason. I use to like Hyundais but after this I will never own another one nor recommend them.

On 8/8/2017 my Hyundai Elantra vehicle started clunking as a way getting on to the highway. After pulling over, I saw a huge puddle of oil that was leaking out of my vehicle. After having it towed and inspected I was told that something let loose in the engine and blew a hole right through. This was after only going through a puddle but then having all parts affect cleaned out. A week later this is what happens. I have never owned a vehicle where the engine had to be replaced so quickly. It is only a 2015 with 109,000 miles approximately. I had a previous 2010 Hyundai that surpassed that mileage. I believe that something is defective in the way they have made these engines in newer year models. Everyone should be aware of this before purchasing because I am now spending thousands of dollars after only 2 years of owning the vehicle on top of being stuck with a significant amount due on my car loan.

My husband was in a serious automobile accident and passed away because of the injuries in October. He leased a Genesis and the lease was up in October. When I turned in the car I ended up owing over 2500 because of mileage overage fees. I had wrote the CEO of Hyundai and the President of Hyundai finance to waive the fees. We incurred the overage charges because we had to go see my critically injured husband in the hospital and drove over 100 miles each day. They would not waive the fees and submitted the fees to collection which lowered my credit score. I have incurred medical expenses due to my husband death and had to sell my home. I am unable to get an apartment thanks to Hyundai. My credit score was lowered and I did not qualify. I did pay this bill in full and I still had my credit score lowered. I will never buy another Hyundai again. My husband and I did love our cars but I was just blown away with how heartless these people are. We have leased two cars from Hyundai and I bought my car. They clearly got quite a bit of money from us already but they did not have the heart to help out a widow who had medical bills and is just trying to survive. In fact I am trying to figure out where I am going to live right now. I had a friend who also lost her husband and the car dealer waived the overage fees. It was not Hyundai. I wish I bought my car from another dealership. Heartless, Heartless, Heartless and Greedy.

Two days after picking the car up from service, the car would not start. It went back to service for the fifth time in four months, and was there for 45 days. Five days after picking the car up from service, the car would not start. It is now back in service for the SIXTH TIME in five months. It has been in service for almost 90 days and counting since September, with no answers in sight. I have owned three Hyundai cars, all have been new cars under warranty. I have only had to taken them in for mechanical issues less than ten times. I have never been told by a Hyundai service department that if they find that the problem is not a warranty issue, like a rat chewing through a wire, or hitting a curb and knocking something loose, that I will be responsible for paying over $100 for them taking time to look at my car, whether they fix the issue or not. I can understand the cost of fixing the issue, but not the cost of just looking at it. I can understand if I was bring in a 2001 Toyota. But I am bringing in a Hyundai to a Hyundai dealership while under warranty. It is implied that while under warranty the dealership for that brand of car will check your car when it has mechanical issues for free, and if it isnt a warranty issue, charge you for the repairs. I mean they sure do talk up how good having a warranty is when they talk you into buying that 10 year 100,00 mile extended bumper to bumper warranty, but if you want to get it looked at, you better bring $200, just in case the problem isnt under warranty. Because whether they fix it or not you’re paying. This was my experience at North Freeway Hyundai in Houston TX. The service consultant Bruce ** didnt even test drive my car to see if he felt what I was feeling, until he first told me that just to look at my car, I basically need to have the money to pay just in case it isnt a warranty issue.

Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai, Egypt, when I heard the sound of a little stone. It was moved by the tire, hitting the underneath of the car. Then when I went to a fuel station to refuel, some people told me that there was a continuous heavy gasoline discharge from the underneath of the car. Inspecting the gasoline source, I found it coming through a hole in the fuel tank caused by that little stone which had hit the underneath of the tank. Inspecting the hole, I found a linear crack intersecting with a circular hole. I had a technician dismounted the fuel tank, soldered it, and re-mounted it.Here, I want to express my deep astonishment for a hole to happen to a car fuel tank by a little stone hit, since a stone hit is a very likely thing to happen to a moving car and must logically be taken account for during the tank design. Being still subject to the possibility of the danger of solder failure, which is a very high dangerous matter, this was fuel explosive and fire hazard for my family if the problem was not detected and repaired.I am asking you to: 1. Search for the cause of such damage, so as not to happen again to other people. 2. To remount a new fuel tank for my car.

I was really excited to buy my first Hybrid. I have long commutes to work and wanted a car that could save me gas mileage. This car is a 2018, at the time of this writing it is now 2021 (4 years old!). In the time that I have bought it, the car died twice on the highway commuting to or from work. The first time it died there was no check engine light warning to indicate any kind of prevention to get the car looked at. I was just driving home and then a big yellow icon popped up. I was able to coast my car off the road and turn it off. I waited a bit and then turned my car back on. I was able to safely finish driving home before calling the service department at the Hyundai dealer in my area to take a look at it. After they finished and I paid for their services, no satisfactory answer was given for why it died or what could be done to prevent it. Just something about some kind of water hose being replaced??The second time my car died was this past Nov 1st. The day before I heard noises coming from my car but I couldnt be certain. Again no check engine light or anything. So as I drove to work again on the highway all of the sudden a check engine light comes on and my car dies. I barely make it to the side of the road again with smoke coming out. I called AAA to tow my car to the Hyundai dealer. They wont be able to look at it until mid December. All the local Hyundai dealers were booked. I took it to an auto repair shop to run diagnostics and was told my engine had seized. I would need to replace the engine. This car is only 4 years old, I cant believe it. Right now once I get my car in the shop, I am praying the manufacturer will cover replacement of the engine which I was quoted costs $10k! My remaining car loan is more than that. Come next year, whether replaced engine or dead car Im selling my losses and chucking it. Hence, my presence on ConsumerAffairs. Looking for a better reliable car. (Sigh) Hopefully I can warn others. Its comforting to see my experience is not unique to me.

I brought it into the dealer once and they said there was a recall on the sunroof. Now that its been nice outside, I tried it again. The issue was not fixed. When I took it Balise Hyundai of Fairfield the manager came to look at it. It told me it was a defect in the making of the Elantra. There was nothing I could do to fix it. Now, my expensive car has an unusable sunroof. One of my favorite features! He said I could write to Hyundai, if there were enough complaints they would recall it, but the 2016 does not have a problem with this feature. This cannot be a solution. Buying a new car (when Im dissatisfied with the old design), doesnt seem to be an applicable solution in this scenario.

We have a 2010 Accent and bought Hyundai dealership parts (tire sensors) and had a Hyundai dealership install the parts and two were defective but I didnt find out until driving the car home. I had to pay the dealership to take out the two bad sensors and reinstall the old parts until they found (4) working. I incurred several hundred in cost for the defective parts and the maintenance charges to deal with the defective parts. Customer service made me jump through hoops with documentation (which I provided) and then more documentation (which I provided) then more documentation including title/license copies? I finally lost my patience after months and had to file a small claims case. Their CA offices are apparently closed so I cannot serve their legal dept? I wrote a letter to their legal dept November 22, 2021 and havent heard anything from anyone at Hyundai. In the mean time Im out $700 + dollars since July, 2021. What kind of treatment is this for their defective parts?

I have a 2002 Sante Fe. It was a recall because the back end rotted. I did not know about this, so I took it to my mechanic because the vehicle was not driving right. He called me to tell me that the back end was rotted. He called Hyundai to see if it would be covered under a warranty. They said it was a recall, so they would take care of it. I had it towed at my expense. I had asked if I could get vehicle on loan and they said they dont do that. It was not my fault that this happened, so why do I have to pay out of my pocket when it was a defect on Hyundai? It is going to cost me around $300 for a rental. This is bad customer service. Please let me know if this is the policy. I am being put out because of a problem that Hyundai caused. I am very upset about this. What can you do for me. Thanks for your time in this matter. I do not want to bad mouth your company for bad customer service.

Key fob falls off a lot. Unlike other fobs the key does not fold out, it is an L-shaped key that slides right out of the fob when pressure is put on the small button which protrudes from the fob approximately 1/16 of an inch and releases the key. All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. My husbands has fallen off in his backpack while setting the keys on his desk, in his pocket, and while opening the door.

I have a used 2013 Hyundai Sonata and recently gas gauge just stop working while I was driving. Was saying that it was empty but I know I had a half a tank of gas. I let it sit for awhile and it started back right but stop again. And now my check engine light on. Has anyone else had this problem and what was done?
