2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Don't get it twisted: the new 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a pickup truck. Its smaller proportions and unibody construction just mean it's no full-size tow rig. Instead, think of the first Hyundai pickup as an alternative to the also-unibody Honda Ridgeline, which too features a one-size-fits-all crew cab, short-bed body style. The Santa Cruz certainly looks more distinct than the Honda–or any other mid-size truck, for that matter–with its interesting face and creased sheetmetal. Its interior is snazzier than its classmates, too, but the lack of physical controls on some models is disappointing. Its standard four-cylinder engine is also undesirable, but the more powerful turbo option is a pricey proposition. Still, the 2022 Santa Cruz is a more functional twist on the tired crossover formula, and that open box on its butt means it qualifies as a pickup truck.

I been having Warranty Issues since I bought my 2010 Elantra . Starting out with failing Brake Lights to causing misfire and to end it the EPS. When going to the Dealership for the engine issue, I had been told I have water leaking into my cylinder that needs to be cleaned out due to my car not having the engine light on. The same day the car had seemed to misfire and the engine light came on. I drove to the first Auto repair shop I saw and they run the diagnostic and it showed a code. They told me the issue was under warranty and I should bring it to the Dealership. I asked if they could clean the grease out a little so it would stop jerking. They did. I took it ten miles down the road to the Dealership and left it with them. Next day, they called me and told me all I had is some water in my cylinder and that it wasnt covered by warranty. So when I got to the dealership, he showed me the bill what was even more as that from the repair shop to fix the gasket. They explained to me they couldnt pull a code and the code given by me to them wasnt making any sense. So I took my car to Firestone and had them look into the so-called water in my cylinder. As they they couldnt find any water anywhere. Long story short, they didnt honor the warranty at all. Now the EPS seems to be failing and Hyundai expect the code to to read in order to honor the warranty. Well Dear Hyundai, the EPS dont stay on and you cant pull a code because no one be able to drive with the EPS out to the dealership so they can see the light is on. So again another bill on the Buyer cause Hyundai. So what Im trying to say is buying a Hyundai is a waste of money. They also stated what I called and complained, You dont have any Oil Changes on file with the dealership. Really I never had any issues with my VW when I took it to the Dealership about anything. And they did listen to the customers concerns and try to help and not send you out with issues that they didnt want to fix under warranty. This was my first and last Hyundai I had Purchased.

I bought a 2020 Tuscan Ultimate on Saturday 5/23/2020 from Crain Hyundai Fayetteville and the salesman could not find the navigation SD card and said come back Tuesday and we will have have it for you. I came back on Tuesday and they had one but it didnt fit. He said, I will have to order you one and when you bring your car in for the window tint I will have one. Well took it in last Friday and no SD card. Asked about it and was told they would try and find one if they can. At that point am up set and contact Hyundai directly for one. They give me the navigation company number to call and I did. They were willing to sell me another one. I said no thank you. I want the one I already bought. I called Hyundai consumer affairs back and talked to a case manager named Vanilla and she stated she called the sales manager and he would take care of it and that was all Hyundai was willing to do. 3 week after I bought my Car still no navigation or Blue link due to navigation not working. I filed a Better business bureau claim and got a call from the customer relations manager from the dealership. Found out the SD cad was never ordered and that he personally would make sure it was done. Bottom line Hyundai didnt care and to me it will be the last one I buy. Hope I will get the cars features working one day as they should.

Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. Stay away from Southtowne Hyundai!

I purchased a new 2019 Hyundai Accent in November 2019 at Genesis of Cherry Hill in Marlton, NJ. This car is a piece of junk, defective, and unsafe to drive. Hyundai provides a car buyer with a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty; not because they stand by the quality and workmanship of the vehicle, but because youll need the warranty to have the car repaired. My car has been in the Hyundai Service Shop for the same problem four times since I purchased the car. The car constantly pulls to the left. You must hold the steering wheel for dear life; otherwise, you could have an accident. On 1/2/20 Hyundai Service adjusted the steering wheel sensor. Within 8 days, 1/10/20 I had to return the car to Hyundai Service for the same problem. Now, Hyundai Service determines the car needs a 4 wheel alignment and another steering sensor adjustment. On 5/19/20 the car was returned again to Hyundai Service for the same problem and the technician determines the rear solid beam axle and left and right front lower control arms must be replaced. Hyundai Service had to order these parts, so now a 4th trip to Hyundai Service was required to fix the pulling to the left. I dropped my car off on 6/1/20 and went to pick the car up on 6/10/20. I test drove the car in the presence of 2 Hyundai technicians and the service manager. After all this work done on the vehicle my car still pulls to the left. Hyundai Service had the audacity to state that all Hyundai Accents may perform the same way, really. Hyundai also indicated that the car passed their testing protocol for driving 40 mph and was deemed as a fixed vehicle in their eyes. However, on my road test the vehicle failed at 40 mph and at greater speeds. Hyundai Service has failed to address my complaint about my car and the car was left at the dealership. I have been making payments on this new car which has spent more times in the shop than on the road. Consumers should think twice on purchasing a Hyundai whether for yourself, your spouse, or child. Your safety is at risk each time you get behind the wheel of this car.

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata March 2015. I had no problems with the car up to a week ago. First my check engine light came on and then a knocking-ticking noise from my engine. I took my car to OReilly and they checked it and informed me it was the camshaft. After then I was driving down the road the noise got louder and then the car stalled. It shut off in the middle of the road. All the lights came on and it STOPPED!My car was towed to a local Hyundai dealership. Spoke to someone this morning and they havent even looked at the car yet. I work 35-40 miles from where I stay and I dont have no other kind of transportation. After further review I found that Hyundai has had a ridiculous amounts of recalls on all of their vehicles even the new ones. I also found out that they recalled over 470,000 Hyundai Sonatas 2011-2012. After reading the reviews of this recall my car is doing the same thing as the 2011-2012 models. I have contacted Hyundai twice and all they are telling me is that my car is not part of that recall. My car is doing the same exact thing. They do not care and it is just ridiculous that there is so many problems. They wont get me a rental or a loaner. I plan to go to everyone news station I can find and report this issue. These cars arent safe or reliable and someone has to speak up and take action!!!

I am completely disgusted with this finance company and people need to be aware of what they are dealing with when it comes to getting a loan from HMF. I set up auto-pay so that I would ALWAYS have a timely payment on my three year loan. Paying on time is very important to me and auto-pay seem like the best solution to Hyundai getting their money on time, every month. It came down to the last payment and this payment was never auto-deducted. Unfortunately for me, I didnt realize this policy of theirs that the last payment would NOT be auto-deducted. What made this so bad is that I didnt find this out until I was 45 days late in payment and Hyundai had already reported this on my credit! I still cant get over them reporting me to the credit bureau when they could have easily communicated what they needed from me to take their last payment.I immediately called to get clarity on why they were telling me I was late in payment with this statement I received just today when they had full ACCESS to my checking account!! They told me that they have a policy built in the contract that states first and last payments are NOT auto-deductible. OK, so somewhere in the fine print is this policy when I bought the car. Being a long time Hyundai customer that is always receiving mail from them, I find it interesting that a courtesy reminder notice with the last statement isnt enclosed for people that rely on auto-pay?I just know that I dont deserve to have my credit dinged because of some nonsense they put in a contract I signed three years ago! I have never made a late payment on the car and common sense would tell you that I counted on THEM to take what was owed out of my account. Obviously, they do this to make a few dollars on interest and late fees. The consequences to an honest consumer with something like this are that they will have their credit report dinged and a fight on their hands to correct it. This is no small matter. This incident is enough to not only make me committed to NEVER buying another Hyundai, but to put the word out there to others to NOT do business with them - at least when it comes to loans. HMF is the lowest of the low. The car itself, a used 2008 Elantra, has been a pretty good car to have. Still, Hyundai lost a customer because of this. BTW... their customer service are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with too!!! No empathy, no care. I was treated like a dumb deadbeat. Never again!

Leased my third Hyundai in February, 2020 one month early because my dealer had the SUV that we wanted. Turned in 2017 Sonata and owed a total of $1,600.00 for mileage and last month. Paid 3 weeks early and they said it hasn’t been paid. I sent a copy of bank check, front and back to Hyundai finance that was cashed. I’ve called five times and they don’t know where the money was applied. It’s coming up on three months past due per Hyundai finance. My credit rating has went from 800 to 640. I’ve contacted the Better Business Bureau and the dealer. I will never buy/lease another Hyundai again. Once my lease is up, I will be returning the vehicle and leasing a different vehicle, if my credit is repaired by then. My last resort is contacting my attorney if I get nowhere with Better Business Bureau or the dealer. This has been a nightmare and I would advise staying away from Hyundai and their financial department.

I took out a 2 year lease on a Hyundai Tucson. It was extended to 3 years because of lockdown. The contract mileage was 10000/pa but I returned the car with less than 20000 on the clock. No consideration was given for the reduced mileage. A lot of my friends leased vehicles with other companies but were given discounts for their reduced mileage. This was the only company that I have used who have not made allowances for this. It is the last time that I will ever use them again. Its a shame as I loved the car!!!

Had no knowledge of the Azera when I first saw the car but after a test drive comparison with the Sonata it seemed more substantial and luxurious. I have leased over eight cars in my lifetime but the Azera limited was the first that I purchased at the end of a lease. The Azera limited had many factory installed options and safety features that were standard along with the Hyundai warranty made the Azera limited the obvious choice.

I purchased my preowned car Aug 2013 at Long Island City, NY and I must say that since day one I have had many problems with it. It all started with the wheels making a very loud noise then it escalated, and all the problems were because of recalls. I tried having the dealership exchange my car, and they refused so I ended up with a lemon car then I relocated to Ithaca, and of course my engine seized, and since I have been out here my car has been in and out of the shop. I must say they all been great but I should not continue to have problems with it. Car is paid in full and its only been six years that I have this car and my experience has been the worst. My car came out the last week Monday and I drove it back to New York City, and it didnt seized or shutdown on me but it still dont drive as it should. Smh no good! I been saying it since day one that I got stuck with a lemon car even the body is not aligned smh. Single mom always stressed that I will get stuck in the middle of nowhere with my 8 yrs old daughter. Its so wrong! What a waste of my hard earned money. Im hoping to win the lottery to buy myself a new car that I can drive and enjoy it.

Hello, DONT BOTHER WITH THESE CROOKS, looking into my options for a court c
Hello, DONT BOTHER WITH THESE CROOKS, looking into my options for a court case as we speak. FIRST I bought my car in 2016. Everything was great in that aspect, my salesman Ron was very nice, friendly, down to earth and not fake. I left happy, I loved my car at the time. I went to the bank for a different reason, paperwork in hand because I was going into work right after that. One of the loan officers said, Hey you bought a new car. Congrats. You mind if I take a look at that paperwork, I said, Sure no problem.. Well well. Long story short she seen that they snuck in a $2000 warranty that I DID NOT agree too. We all know Hyundai has the best warranty around. 100,000 miles or 10 years which ever comes first. She also seen my rate was way too high. She fixed that as well. She also saved me almost $200 a month on my payment a year off the loan.Fast forward to today. I just got my title in. Ive paid off my car this year. Title says 3,229 miles on instead of 9 miles like it was when I bought it. Also says USED when it was brand new off the showroom floor. I have a picture of the odometer the day I bought it and left with it where it says 9 MILES!! not 3, 229 miles. I now do some research and see this is something they do all the time, sell people LOANERS and or RENTALS and say that they are brand new. Plop them on the showroom floor and screw over people right and left. Not me. Im not letting this go. NO way NO how! I work hard for my money and I will not be fooled by some car salesman prick in a Walmart suit. Thank god I took pictures of that odometer. Thank god!I called today and spoke to a DJ who actually said I looked up your paperwork and **. REALLY BRO? Ok. Tells me I knew I bought a loaner. I said, A what? You know a rental car? The hell I did. Joe and Ron never disclosed to me my car was a rental just like they didnt tell me about the extra warranty they threw in I didnt ask for.. Empire if your reading this... Ill be in touch...dont worry.

My wife hit a concrete light pole base. The body damage was about 2500 dollars but the air bag light came on and white powder was in the car which meant the airbag went off but did not deploy the bag. The insurance company said, You need an airbag and any parts needed to repair it right even though it did not deploy to help stop my wife from moving forward. The car is a 2004 Sonata GLS with 66,000 miles on it as of July 5, 2014 the day of the accident. Hyundai said it is out of warranty but I said this is a device that will only work during an accident. They basically said too bad. The cost was over $3000.00 to replace the bag, seat belt and all the bells and whistles that make the bag NOT DEPLOY. The car is a total loss because of the air bag cost and why would I want to install a new bag that may or may not deploy. Hyundai recalled other year air bags like 2003 and 2006 but my 2004 is not included yet I have read many complaints of non--deploying. Do not trust air bags as a safety item and it doesnt matter what car. Use the seat belt and pray, lol. My car is a total loss but a friend wants to buy it as it has 66,000 miles on it and I am anal when it comes to doing everything the dealer wants you to do and when to do it. I will not buy another Hyundai but I do wish it would have made the recall list so if you have this problem report it to NTSD (NATIONAL TRANS SAFETY PLACE NOT SURE OF THE ACRONYM). Thats all folks. Trust no one.

This is our 4th Hyundai, second Tucson. You have lost a customer. This 2017 limited Tucson turbo is terrible... the transmission is awful... hesitation, jerking. I have had it to the dealer several times to be told “nothing is wrong”. They tell me they are aware of the problem but until Hyundai does something to fix the issue their hands are tied. I’m sure there will eventually be a huge lawsuit and then... Hyundai will say bye-bye! So sad!

I slid off the road and called roadside assistance. I had been pulled out about a month ago, also. This time they said they would not pay for being pulled out. We have had a severe winter and have had a lot of ice and snow. On the Hyundai advertising it says, 5 years unlimited roadside assistance, with 24/7, 365 day service. The roadside assistance representative said they recently changed their rules. (Almost a year after I purchased my 2013 Sonata) I talked to representative **. She never told me what rule they changed. I told her they couldnt change the rules retroactively. She said they could and did so. She referred me to the towing service subcontractors. (Cross Country Motor Club) The motor club informed me that the car had to be less than 10 feet from the road, to be pulled back onto the road. I asked him who made that new rule and they could not tell me that. I told them that if a car slid into the ditch, it would be 10 feet from the highway 90% of the time, and that would make roadside assistance unusable 90% of the time. I threatened to go public to the internet and also press a possible lawsuit. My car is well within the 10-foot rule. They still refused. I’m handicapped and a senior citizen. The roadside assistance was a major reason why I purchased the car. Now, Hyundai is going back on their word. I started to call my dealer and before I could talk to him, a towing company called and said they would be at my place within 2 hours. I called the towing company and asked if Hyundai was paying for it and they said yes. Hyundai previously said they would call to get me help, but I would be charged $170.00. I dont think that any customer should put up with a company that treats its customer in the above manner.

I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Limited in August 2017. Driving to work on the highway the panoramic glass roof exploded. Confused me so much because it was 6:45am, no one was around me, sunny day, no trucks in front of me or anything. (All this is provable as I have dash cam video of the front and rear of the car). Sounded like a shotgun. For starters, thankfully my 2 year old son and my wife were not in the car as the backseat was full of glass. I managed to not lose control of the vehicle and managed to exit the highway and pull into a gas station. I phoned roadside assistance and got towed to the dealer. While in the tow truck and still confused I began searching online if this was a known issue and lo and behold Hyundai is VERY well known for this and is #1 in exploding roofs here in Canada and the United States. After getting the vehicle to the dealer and getting home to wash glass out of my head, the next morning I receive a call from the manager at the dealer advising me that Hyundai Canada will NOT be fixing this under warranty even though the manager at Maple Hyundai acknowledged that he has seen articles pertaining to this happening to others in the past. The fact that I have dash cam footage means nothing also. Upon purchasing the vehicle I even purchased their fancy extended warranty. That also means nothing not that I even needed it because I am still technically under the 3 year whatever regular one. Hyundai Canada turned the warranty job down saying that it must have been cracked from before which I am not sure how they can make that type of assumption. First of all, as I said the front and rear cameras both show the exact same time and date just different views. You see from the rear camera a blast of glass fly. The front camera shows absolutely nothing fly at the vehicle. Secondly, tempered glass does not crack it explodes. Thirdly even if for whatever magical reason it was cracked from the night before, why would it wait until 29km (18 miles) into my drive to burst while driving on a smooth road. These vehicles are NOT SAFE and I urge any especially families to look at alternate manufacturers who actually care about the safety of their passengers.

The head unit is only 3yrs/36K miles. Where was this small print?? I experienced the rear window molding coming off of my 2005 Hyundai Sonata about 2 years ago. We took the car to the dealership and were told the cost would be $400 per window to install new molding. This is the flimsy silver molding set at the top of the windows. Forget it. I was not about to pay that amount of money for the install. It has been sometime and my husband and myself have noticed that all 2005 Sonatas we come across in our geographical area have the rear window molding missing. I phoned Hyundai Consumer Affairs today to see what stance Hyundai would take on this issue. Sorry, your car is no longer under warranty. Hey, guess what, according to the Hyundai dealership, Earnhardt, it wasnt covered under the warranty anyways. It was cosmetic.Like some of you, I have owned several Hyundais and have recommended people to purchase the vehicle. If Hyundai will not take ownership of the poor workmanship on this year/make for this issue, I will turn on a dime. Not only will I never buy a Hyundai again, I will make sure everyone I know does not either. Hyundai has come a long way since my first Elantra in 1991 and I would hate to see them fall on their faces due to new glue, new molding, bad line employee or what have you that caused this overwhelming mistake. Please, Hyundai, own up.

We, his parents, were under the impression that he is in contact with Hyundai to manage his payment, apparently this was not true.On July 22, 2017, bailiff came to collect the car. We were very cooperative and let the car go. I wanted my son to learn a lesson. This was not a joke to stop paying for his lease. However, the person from bailiff, never explained that there will be storage charges, the lease payment will continue to accumulate after he takes the car even if we no longer have or use the car, and all other fees I end up paying, simply he did not gave us an honest advise. Otherwise I would pay what Hyundai requires and keep the car without going through this emotional distress. With high blood pressure and other medical conditions it makes me feel even worse. On August 4th, I received a registered mail from bailiff explaining the charges. The letter did not include a single telephone number to contact. Being proactive, I went to the dealership for information. The financial adviser there tried to assist by calling Hyundai Capital for more information. Surprisingly, Hyundai Capital did not have an update about the car status which has been taken since July 22!!! This rep gave us the bailiff telephone number, however. The financial adviser gave me the telephone number for Hyundai Capital. I called all parties to gather information. Another person from bailiff sent me the required amount which I paid on Aug 8th, that was $1677.69.On August 9th bailiff confirmed receiving the fund and other documents were requested. However, bailiff requested additional payments for a time period I did not use the car at all as the car was/is still on hold by bailiff as explained earlier. I contacted Hyundai Finance, provided a Void Cheque with my personal banking information and authorized them to take this amount. Later speaking with Hyundai collection department they explained that this payment has to be deposited to bailiff which I did.Morning next day I received a confirmation from bailiff confirming receiving the fund and in communication with Hyundai to get release approval. I forwarded this bailiff e-mail confirmation to [email protected]. The car has accumulated storage charges, I paid lease payment for a car I do not have or used at all since July 22 until I received it back about mid August, I found myself as the one who was coordinating the conversations between bailiff and Hyundai, but yet neither Hyundai nor bailiff were willing to compensate or provide a satisfactory level of customer service.I spoke with Hyundai finance several times with false promises to call me back, never did. Finally by end of day I received a call from the auction that the car was held by that an approval has been received to release the car. I picked up the car after paying the redemption fee, storage fee and taxes. I have the car and the lease payment are in good standing since. Now, my son has been receiving letters under his name, not mine, to pay additional charges. I called Hyundai last week, they advised I am still missing a payment, however Hyundai could not specify what is this payment for, they was supposed to investigate this further from their end and call me back, Hyundai never did. Today my son received the same note about this payment. I called this evening, Oct 10, 2017, and got someone on the phone, who told me this fee is a repossession fee. However the letter doesnt say anything about a repossession fee, it says Prior billing and misc charges returned item handling. This person mentioned this was written on the agreement, I found myself forced to pay an additional amount of money I have not been expected or ready to pay. I am not sure how Hyundai expect every single person to read such agreements, and if happen how easy the terms will be understood by an average person. All these should have been explained beforehand at the dealership before signing the agreement, which never happened. This by far the worst/worst experience I ever had with such a system. I regret I considered getting a car deal from Hyundai. In simple words, stay away from such poor system.

Worst vehicle ever!!! The engine seized at 90,000 miles without warning. Now at 92,000 miles the steering column is shot. My mechanic found that the steering coupling among other components were basically shredded. He replaced the column and brought it to Hyundai of Metairie to have the electronic steering reprogrammed. The Hyundai service dept. will not do it. They want to replace the column again. They say the car isnt drivable. It was driven to them.

I should have known better. I was a career car reporter, now retired, and I had seen first-hand the quality issues with Hyundai. But reviews like those in Consumer Reports convinced me things had changed, so I purchased a new Elantra GT in Canada in 2005 with a 5-year warranty. As I was retired, the car sat in the driveway mainly and that was part of the problem. More mileage would have unveiled the problems quicker. As delivered from the dealer, a brake light was missing and the alignment was off. I had my own mechanic fix these at my cost. I also had the car rust-proofed with oil spray as Korean steel is known to rust quickly. (Did not help, door seams and hatch rusted anyway.) Engine head gasket failed within 3 months and dealer botched the repair. I complained to Hyundai Canada and the engine was taken apart a second time, repair done correctly but the engine pinged after that, meaning that the compression ratio had been altered in the repair. Mirrors froze but I fixed the controller myself with WD40. Radio died, I upgraded it. Brakes vibrated but I fixed it myself with custom rotors rather than fight the dealer. Finally, dealer went under and disappeared. A month after the warranty expired, so did my steering rack. 25,000 miles on the car in 5 years and the rack blew. My mechanic put a new one for $1,700 in and that lasted 3 months. Extensive research on the net in chat groups and I found blown racks a common problem in the model. And the replacements fail because, allegedly, they are stored outdoors in Korea and the seals dry out. I sued Hyundai in Small Claims. Did they send a lawyer? No. Did they try to settle or fix the car? No. They sent the head of the central (head office) Parts Dept. who lied under oath to the judge about my attempts to resolve the issue. I won, but got rid of the car. Trade in for a 5-year old 2005 Elantra GT with 25000 miles, new brakes, new Michelins, upgraded radio, and needing a rack? $3,000. (Paid $20,000 five years earlier). Ugh.

Secret room scam artists. Leased a car for my daughter in 2011.. When the lease was up we went to buy the car out due to the overmileage on the car and decided she really liked the car. After showing her this fabulous 2014 car they made a very appealing deal to her and she agreed to lease again. They bought her car and said they would pay the overmileage on the car and she is free and clear to lease a 2014. Ohh wait.... You want to keep the same payment??? Well then they said you have to put 1800$ down in order to keep payments where they were... Wait let me speak to my manager...Away to the secret back room to see if deal can be made but first initial this to show what you want your payment to be... Huh? Umm ok? (Btw my husband and I own 5 vehicles and the only place that has a secret back room is Hyundai in Dickson city).Ok long story short she signed and gave them $1800 for this 2014 Hyundai Elantra. 1 month later I got a letter stating I owed the overmileage on the 2011 Hyundai bought back off me to get me into the 2014. When I called Greg (my sales guy) he said he talked to Ray and it was simple mistake, not to worry, its all taken care of. We bought your car, therefore we paid your overmileage...Month 2 I get a second notice that my account on the 2011 is past due with interest $1592.27... Husband and I personally went up and again Ray, max Carlos, never came out of the secret back room but again I was assured it was taken care of, we bought your car... Yet no manager had the time to come out of hiding in the secret room. Finally a collections agency calls me and tells me I am placed in collections for an unpaid balance of the overmileage on my 2011 Elantra! They advised me to go to the dealership and advise them they need to either cut me a check for this amount or be on a conference call with me to clear this up.My husband and I go to dealership and demanded to get on a conference call with the cowards hiding in the back and was denied. I repeatedly kept asking for Carlos to please come out of hiding and talk to us like adults and make the call at the desk we were at. We were then told he couldnt because his computer was different and showed more info than the ones on front. Umm ok? So we said fine we will go in the back where Carlos is and use his phone and computer screen to straighten this out. Ok heres the best part... We were told Its very busy and dangerous back there. My husband responds.. Is there a car on a jack waiting to fall on our heads??!He absolutely denied us a conference call and our issues werent resolved until 2 days later when I contacted the collections agency and told them what I experienced... She immediately called them.. Had me on line and spoke with Carlos who agreed to pay my overmileage like he should have in the first place! Bottom line its a very shady place and they are hiding something or that conference call would have not been a problem!I have never ever been to a dealership like this and dont plan on ever going back... Except with my attorney if I get one more letter. I plan on contacting the attorney generals office, Better Business Bureau (oh wait they were already reported to them) and vow to never ever do business with them again. I never once got an apology but surprisingly they expected me to thank them for trying to help lol. Ummm thanks?

Two customer service agents informed me of this offer being available because of the COVID 19 outbreak and the job loss it caused. POLICY CHANGE PER HYUNDAI CORPORATE!! As of May 31, 2020 this policy has been changed without notice and definitely without consideration to millions of people still out of work. Hyundai Finance and Hyundai Customer Service will not defer any payments past May 31, 2020. If you call Assurance, they only help people who have loss their job not people on furlough. I encountered a snow storm on last week while driving my 2012 Hyundai Tucson. My after a couple of hours of driving, the Tucson’s power dropped and I was unable to drive the car beyond 45km, I was only able to get it into 3rd gear to get me home (which is a feature that the vehicle has). I thought it was a transmission problem. However, while getting repaired at my dealership (Meyers Hyundai) the service manager told me that the issue was: The Tucson’s AirBox was clogged with Snow and it affected the power transfer to the engine. My bill was the following (new Air filter, Plugs, and an Injection service) totaling at $583.00, by simply driving the vehicle in the snow. I have owned many cars before in the past and never had the vehicle fail due to snow. Even the Server Manager at my dealership could not believe the vehicle responded this way in the snow. WAS THIS VEHICLE TRULY BUILT FOR CANADIAN WINTER WEATHER!!! I contacted their customer relations team who responded: If the Hyundai dealership determines that the issue is not as a result of a manufacturing defect, we regret to inform you that the repair will not find coverage under your vehicles warranty coverage. Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that we cannot assist you with these repairs.

I have a 2009 Santa Fe with 40,000 miles. While driving 8 hours in the rain on a road trip, the paint started flying off my hood and roof in huge chunks. I have never had an accident or a chip in the paint. The repair shop called to report they are having problems fixing the original paint loss because more keeps coming off. Now it looks like a complete new paint job will be required. Hyundai says the warranty is up at 35,000 miles for paint. The paint job is obviously defective from the factory; however my attempt to file a claim with Hyundai led nowhere. Picture is from before it went to the shop and more paint came off the roof, hood and doors.

My 2020 Elantra SEL is not even a year old yet, it has 5,000 miles. I brought it in for routine oil change and to get my tail light fixed (btw that broke with no warning after I went through a car wash but anyway). I see there is a recall so I get that checked as well only to find out my car has failed the recall and needs a brand new engine installed. It will take 4-6 weeks MINIMUM. I am going on a long drive in 10 days to visit a sick family member. I need my car. I also need it for work.I am in disbelief that this car is under a year old and needs a brand new engine. That is literally the most insane thing Ive ever heard in my life. I have already been without a car for several days and now I find out I wont have my car for 4-6 weeks?? I will be in a rental. This is causing me an enormous amount of stress and is inconveniencing me beyond belief. Not to mention all this time I have been driving a literal death trap. It could have caught fire at any moment. I am literally trying not to think about that for my own mental health. Imagine if I did not manage to get my car serviced before my long trip and it exploded on the road and killed me or someone I love. I am truly beside myself at how bad of a company Hyundai is. I want them to contact me and let me know how they will make this right. For starters, I expect a reimbursement on my car payment for the time I will not have my car. Why am I paying for something I cant even drive? This is insane.

We bought our daughter this brand new 2016 Hyundai Tuscon 1.6 T AWD Limited on July 6th. It has left her stranded twice. The engine revs, but the car does not move. We have researched this online and there are over 950 people complaining about the same exact issue. My daughter was at a stoplight the first time this happened, and the car would just not go. The second time was after she got off work at 10:00 PM and her car started and then would not go at all. This is a brand new 2016, and we bought it for her because we wanted her to have a dependable car for college. After less than a month, it has left her stranded twice. This is a MAJOR safety concern. The dealership we took it to already has several Tucson waiting for the same issue and we are told there is no fix for it yet. This is unacceptable. The car should never have been sold with this issue and no fix for it. The dealership stated they will keep the car and give a loaner. Problem is she cant drive the loaner, so this puts the whole family out now juggling cars, because she isnt 25 to drive the loaner. BUYER BEWARE!!!

A swamp-like smell was coming from ac. First time tech changed cabin filter; smell got worse. second time they cleaned out ac system with a chemical. smelled chemical for weeks & then mold/mildew odor retd. So third time they performed a neutralization & deionization which resulted in an intense foul citrus odor. fourth time they installed a frigi-clean evap foam, new air filter & deodorization of vehicle interior which has resulted in another intense foul odor causing breathing problems. These foul odors were making me ill giving me a headache, burning eyes, throat & allergies & asthma. I told them from beginning I have these medical issues. after the third try I was told by service mgr troy that they had done all they could to resolve problem. after confronting him re: my displeasure he said he would call his people at Hyundai to see what they wanted to do. Next thing woman who sold me car is calling me??? I bought this Hyundai elantra 2013 new in 5/2012. I said I wanted to meet with the owner of Hyundai dealership. I had an appt on Sat to do so. I arrive on time Sat & am told by saleswoman owner left at 3 pm day before & will not be in. I was livid. So now general mgr comes out to talk to me in a private office & then the service mgr joins us & listen to my complaints & then tell me they have another procedure (4th one) that will take care of problem. They gave me a loaner where previously I had been refused one when requested. I work full time & have been inconvenienced many times having to take days or half-days out of work or inconvenience someone to take me to drop off & pick up car to be serviced b/c I was never told until recently they had a shuttle service.I have filed a complaint with Hyundai complaint center; waiting to hear from regional office & have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Unfortunately my car is paid for or I would park it on dealership doorstep while I filed complaints. the car looks beautiful on outside but like some people looks are deceiving & rotten on the inside. This car is a lemon. I want a new car or my $ back. I have two friends who purchased a Toyota car the same time I purchased my car. they have not had this problem. Im totally angry & frustrated & feel like they are jerking me around & know this car is a lemon.

All I have to say is that the description provided by the sales person of this vehicle Tucson 2017 I leased is so inaccurate. He described this vehicle as good gas mileage, features, and speed. First of all he said 25mpg in city and 29mpg on highway, I travel a lot and it takes way less than that. Second of all key fob does not open the trunk even though it has a picture of the open trunk on it, I believe it is false advertisement, as it show that pic. I will read the manual and see what it say, to take further actions on this. I just dont know why would it have that pic if it will only unlock it, makes no sense for that use the unlock button. Third people are not trained well as when I called in to check if it was an electric problem the person who answer said that she checked the users manual and it was supposed to unlock it. Ask me to bring it to service to check. When I took it there, the service guy cut me off and said nope it only unlocks it and walked away, not even let me finish my question, so I had to leave, because no one will pay attention to me after they heard him saying that. Then they call me for my plates, the receptionist completely ignored me for a while, they gave me the plates and ask me if I want some one to help me put the plates. I said yes gratefully, and she page someone in service, after waiting for 30 minutes decided to leave as no one showed. This is the first time I ever review someone, so I dont know what else to put, but what I can tell you is that it is the WORSE purchase/contract I ever did. I wish I can return the car, but it will kill my credit so I have to stick with it. I hope you read this before buying/leasing a car and dont go for a Hyundai or not go to that Hudson Hyundai in NJ. I will read the manual and see what it says about the key fob, maybe it is false advertisement, and I will post it here. Dont get stocked in a car like this, it REALLY SUCKS, to live with it for three years.

I had a 2006 Azera that I drove for 147k Miles. It was a near perfect ownership experience. So I purchased a 2011 Genesis 3.8. Its been very disappointing to say the least. What made it disappointing is Hyundais degrading their warranty so that not a single malfunction has been covered by their warranty. I now had 51k miles on the Genesis. This is what had not been covered by their warranty. Navigation does not boot up ~30% of the time, moisture inside rear tail light, wind noise from passenger rear door from day 1, windshield wipers have no intermittent, phone bluetooth cuts out. Wheels peeling clear coat from day one. Dead front strut. So I would recommend avoiding Hyundai. I feel like a chump from driving one. Plus, the ride is rough and too much road noise for this class of car. Avoid!

Front bumper falls off very easily on Sonata - Be very careful when pulling into a parking spot with a tire stop installed like most handicapped parking spots. I went about 2 inches too far and heard a scrape on the tire stop. I backed up slowly, and it pulled my front bumper off the car on one side. I pushed it back into place and taped it up to drive home. They are the cheapest little plastic devices that hold the bumper on the car, and once they break (according to my dealer), you have no choice but to replace the whole front end of the car ($1,104.00). When speaking to the body shop for Hyundai, they explained that Hyundai used to warrant this problem, but there were so many that they quit doing it. They said they had replaced over 25 of these recently. I went through all the Hyundai customer options, but they would not help in any way. There is nothing to keep this from happening again except being very careful when you park. I will never buy another Hyundai again because of this. Very cheap manufacturing and possibly dangerous. I hate to see this happen with our car companies. I never had this happen with any other car in the last 50 years I have been driving. Just an additional note, there is not a scratch anywhere on the bumper except underneath and nothing broke or cracked except these cheap fasteners which are attached to the bumper. Some of the other plastic parts under the bumper have to be replaced as well. Hope this helps others, and I wish I knew about it before I bought this car.

I was really excited to buy my first Hybrid. I have long commutes to work and wanted a car that could save me gas mileage. This car is a 2018, at the time of this writing it is now 2021 (4 years old!). In the time that I have bought it, the car died twice on the highway commuting to or from work. The first time it died there was no check engine light warning to indicate any kind of prevention to get the car looked at. I was just driving home and then a big yellow icon popped up. I was able to coast my car off the road and turn it off. I waited a bit and then turned my car back on. I was able to safely finish driving home before calling the service department at the Hyundai dealer in my area to take a look at it. After they finished and I paid for their services, no satisfactory answer was given for why it died or what could be done to prevent it. Just something about some kind of water hose being replaced??The second time my car died was this past Nov 1st. The day before I heard noises coming from my car but I couldnt be certain. Again no check engine light or anything. So as I drove to work again on the highway all of the sudden a check engine light comes on and my car dies. I barely make it to the side of the road again with smoke coming out. I called AAA to tow my car to the Hyundai dealer. They wont be able to look at it until mid December. All the local Hyundai dealers were booked. I took it to an auto repair shop to run diagnostics and was told my engine had seized. I would need to replace the engine. This car is only 4 years old, I cant believe it. Right now once I get my car in the shop, I am praying the manufacturer will cover replacement of the engine which I was quoted costs $10k! My remaining car loan is more than that. Come next year, whether replaced engine or dead car Im selling my losses and chucking it. Hence, my presence on ConsumerAffairs. Looking for a better reliable car. (Sigh) Hopefully I can warn others. Its comforting to see my experience is not unique to me.

After 76,000 miles I experienced a catastrophic engine failure in my 2011 Sonata Turbo 2.0. The Hyundai service department that the car was towed to said they did not know why this happened. After considering the warranty, it was determined that the engine would be replaced. The second motor was installed and the first time it was cranked, it was determined that the engine failed. A third engine was then installed. At about 10,000 miles on the 3rd engine, the exact same catastrophic engine failure occurred. I learned that Hyundai had previously installed a re-manufactured motor (the third engine) instead of a new long block. I am now waiting to hear if the warranty is even going to cover the 4th engine replacement.I am researching information on Texas Lemon Law to see if this would qualify; my novice experience would say YES but I am horrified to read the other experiences on this website. I would like to think Hyundai is going to try and make this right for me, but I have my doubts. To say the least, I will never purchase another Hyundai. It is disappointing because up until now, I had enjoyed the way the car drove, handled, and how efficient the eco-boost was on fuel.

I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata into the Hyundai dealer service center with a problem on my auxiliary plug. I used a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable to connect my iPod to the car. After a couple of months, the cable had bad connection. Due to that problem, I bought a new auxiliary cable but the cable wasnt the problem. The problem was the 3.5 mm jack that is on the car. So I bought the OEM cable, but after few months it didnt work well. So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. Also, it is very obvious that their staff would say there is no problem. I am highly unsatisfied from this experience. I cannot enjoy my music in my brand new Hyundai Sonata. Hyundai has the worst leasing programs in the business. Do not fall for their lease plan. My wife turned her Equis recently. The car was 12,000 miles under so she thought she was fine. She had the Hyundai dealer wash the car when she took it in for an oil change. They used a pressure washer and took some of the pearl white off the plastic bumper. The manager said they have had issues with this paint and not to worry. Hyundai sent a person out to look at her car and write it up. She wrote down the paint issue. She said it needed a new tire. The tire in question was well within the safe range. Note that this vehicle was known to have under equipped tires on them and she kept the same when she replaced them. After 24,000 miles she had purchased two sets of tires. The Equis was their top of the line vehicle and their bottom of the line vehicles had more bells and whistles on them. My wife had asked before purchasing the vehicle about all of the things like bluetooth and was assured it had it but the salesman didnt know how to work it. That was a lie. She went back the day after purchasing the vehicle and was told Too bad, were sorry. Cant do anything about it. I will say it was the best driving vehicle weve had and I did enjoy it. The problem was the Hyundai Lease, they lie, cheat and dig into your back pocket. DO NOT LEASE THROUGH HYUNDAI. Purchase the vehicle outright or find another lease option. My wife showed the Texas Hyundai Lease manager her original correspondence and how Hyundai Lease didnt get back to her the first week she had it. They do not care about you, just the money. We are waiting on a recall for the white paint to get our money back. Tire places including the dealership said the tire in question was within code. The dealership said they would have waived all of the issues Hyundai Lease found. Remember, youre getting the car from a dealership but youre dealing with Hyundai underhand Lease.

I have had nothing but issues since I bought this car. I bought a 2015 Elantra Sport, with 800 miles on it in October of 2015. Seemed like a great car. I got a good deal (I paid 18,000), its a top trim level so hopefully the quality would be good. First thing that happened, the dealership insisted I change the oil every 3,000 miles. The service manual clearly states 7,500 mile intervals. They scolded me and told me to bring it in more often. Okay fine, whatever.Second, the dealership did a recall repair (I never approved, they just did it) to my sunroof, which resulted in a damaged headliner, AND they dropped a screw in my defroster vent that I could hear roll around as I would make corners. I took it back and Hyundai approved replacing the headliner. They also took the dash apart to retrieve the screw. The work order said removed debris, the tech didnt remember what he took out. It also still rattled and then produced a different rattle above 75 MPH. (So much more higher quality coming from the top end trim level). I should note they had the car for several days, no loaner car was given.Next, I noticed my steering column was loose after they disassembled my dash. I could move it side to side. Also the clutch squeaked when you released it. And the dash still rattled. So I took it back in. several days later and no rental car, the steering column was within spec, they couldnt replicate the clutch squeak, and they werent allowed to fix rattles and squeaks past 5,000 miles or something like that (came from the service manager). Next issue, the AC goes out. Its Texas. Its July. Its hot. Can i get a loaner car? No. They werent sure if it could be fixed under warranty (30,000 miles now). How is this not under warranty?! They had the car for several days. Turned out the AC compressor failed internally so it was replaced under warranty. No loaner car. Now, most recently. The car has 59,700 miles. The engine starts to make a noise that sounds like a high speed rattle. My guess was the water pump impeller rubbing. So I took it into a different dealership. This time they cant diagnose it, but its easy to replicate so there is no doubt theres a problem. 5 days goes by and they finally set me up with a rental car through Enterprise. One month goes by and they tell me they are going to replace the engine. That opened up a whole new set of issues. Apparently, the engine in my two year old car is now obsolete. Instead of buying a long block crate engine (like they originally told me) they are buying a short block and sending the engine off to an outside repair shop to build it.I went to the dealership to look at the engine (I do a lot of car repair, and Im a Mechanical Engineer). The timing chain is hanging slack and theyve removed one of the camshaft retainers. The car is parked outside, with no valve cover. Lovely. They tell me the engine is being replaced due to lack of lubrication (very vague and general). My guess was broken timing chain tensioner. I saw no low pressure light, and there was no presence of metal in the oil during the last oil change (I had a sample sent to a lab for analysis). They told me that its a good thing I brought it in when I did. Because my Powertrain Warranty Expires at 60,000 miles! Apparently, because I bought it used the 100,000 mile warranty doesnt apply to me.Well that was it. Im getting rid of the car. I asked them to give me a price on what theyd buy it from me for. They responded with because its having major engine work, we can only give you $6,000. So basically. A $24,000 car, in two years, and 60,000 miles, becomes worth 25% of its original value. I am never buying another Hyundai.

My 2007 Elantra SE was just totaled this month. This car is one of the best cars we ever had. It still runs like a top but the rear end damage totaled it. This car never needed anything besides regular maintenance. It now has 230,000 + miles on it. It was very comfortable, peppy car and it will be missed! This was a great car and I will buy another one.

I bought a car from Hyundai in 2018 Of September. I have had this car for not even 7 months. Bought it with 7k miles on it and I’ve never missed a payment and was always a valued customer with my parents always owning one too. So when I bought the vehicle it had no recalls on it, one day I saw something online about recalls so I ran my vin to see if my car was part of the recall and it was and the recall was for the ECM, so I taken my car to Hyundai in Manassas, Virginia and got the recalled fixed. They told me all is good and my car is ready to go.Two weeks later my car goes into limp mode and won’t go over 20 miles a hour, I called the dealership nearest to me and asked them to take my car in and the one I called was Hyundai in Woodbridge, Virginia. They said they would not take me because my car was not purchased there, even though this fell under a warranty recall, so I called Fairfax Hyundai Virginia and they said that I could bring it in. Well I waited 4 hours for a tow truck and it finally got there and we headed to the dealership. I get there and waited 2 more hours for someone to run a test on my car to see what was wrong with it and it came back as I needed a new engine. Being told I need a new engine I was put in a rental car for about 3 months and I waited and waited and called at least once a week for an update. Felt like I couldnt get anything out of them besides, It’s still on back order.Well finally I get a call from the dealership saying I did not need a new engine, and all it was is a wiring harness. So I waited 3 months thinking I was getting a new engine and all I got was a new harness. Well finally I picked up my car that day they called. Returned the rental and I was heading home down I-95 in Virginia going 70 down the interstate my car completely shuts down on me and wouldnt turn back on. So I was able to safely pull over with my niece in the car with me, I got to the side of the road and called them again to explain what happen. Well they asked if I could bring it back in so I did. My car then stalled out and went into limp mode 8 more times on my way 45 minutes back to the dealership.I drop the car off and the dealership ran it over the weekend and I get a call back on a Monday and they tell me they couldnt find the problem and nothing was wrong with the car. I get back in my car look at the mileage and it was exactly the same from when I brought it in, knowing that I am now mad. My wife and I with a baby in the car refuses to drive the car and I’ve had it parked at our house. After contacting Hyundai America and speaking with someone named Anthony I asked nicely for them to take this death trap away from me and he said that he would do a case for me and he would keep me updated. Well that was 2 weeks ago today, I still havent heard from him and I’ve called multiple times a day for a long time and it goes straight to voicemail. I’ve left countless voicemails and still no response. I personally would never recommend Hyundai to even my worst enemy after the experience I have had with you all and I will never own another in my life.

Three weeks ago, I went to the Hyundai dealership in Huntington, NY 11743 (Long Island). I was interested in leasing a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. My salesmen Bob ** had asked me which model I was looking at and I told him the 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Mr. ** brought around a grey and what he said was the GLS. I test drove it and was pleased as to how smooth and quiet it drove, so I then decided to lease one and decided on black with grey interior. I arrived at the dealership and picked up my car. I drove it home and noticed that it was driving not at all as the demo. It was loud and there is a clicking sound coming from under the hood. That same day I called my salesman up, told him and brought it right to him. He claims that he didnt hear anything unusual and what I was experiencing was normal. I asked him why I didnt experience this with the demo and he didnt have an answer for me. Then they scheduled an appointment for me to bring it into service to look at it. It was there all day and they claim nothing was wrong. To make sure I wasnt losing my mind, I test drove another GLS in their lot and that was better than mine. The salesman said it drives the same as mine. I then went to their Hicksville dealership, test drove a GLS and that drove quiet and had no ticking sounds. I went back to Huntington and the sales manager Steve ** listened to the vehicle and claims that he didnt hear anything wrong. I drove the car and the sales manager was in the passenger seat. He refused to drive it and said nothing was wrong and he cant do anything for me even after I told him that I test drove other GLS and they were fine, unlike my car. The sales manager also refused to actually drive my car and see. He said, I am too busy. I am not test driving your car. I then went to the West Islip dealership and explained to them whats going on. A salesman there came out and listened to my car and he heard the ticking sound. He said that is not normal. Even in front of his manager he said he heard the ticking sound. I am so beyond frustrated. Getting a new car is supposed to be enjoyable and all I want to do is cry. Its now three weeks that I have the car. Something is definitely not right. Please help me.

I bought Hyundai Sonata 2013 five months ago. I am happy with driving the car but I noticed that you took my money for blue link which is I already cancelled. When I bought the car, you told me that I have to pay $99 for year for the blue-link. There was a one month fee. I didnt want to pay and it wasnt good for me so I cancelled. But you charged. When I called the blue-link, blue-link told me that there is 3 option in the blue link but I only cancelled one option. I never heard about that. I never heard about that when I bought the car and even when I cancelled the blue-link. I didnt know there is three options. I never heard. When I canceled, you asked why I want to cancel so I just said that it doesnt recognize my voice. For the reason, the blue-link cancelled only one option. When I bought the car the sales person explained the destination search service very kindly but the guy never explained about the other option which is remote access option. I think because I installed remote starter, already. The Hyundai sales person never told me that I have to pay for $198 for year. He only told me $99 a year for the blue-link which he told me only the destination service. I dont want to believe that you had a purpose to take out my money. But there is only way, I can understand the situation. When I called Hyundai dealer which is Patrick Hyundai, they told me I have to speak with the blue-link but the blue-link told me there is nothing they can do. Only they could cancel and I can get less of the money. I feel bad. You tricked me into spending my money. I am very disappointed with Hyundai.

Don’t Buy it and waste your time and money! I lease Hyundai Tucson on December 2018. The car was running perfect for 3 months. The start showing same problem over and over, the problem is happened often but in not continuous manner. The problem is:1. If the car off, once you insert the key in ignition, the key stuck and not turn the car on. After 15 to 30 minutes the car back to normal.2. If the car on ... suddenly the maintenance light, the turned on, the AC turned off, the front left signal off, the engine overheated and when you turn the car off the key stuck in ignition. The issue continue happened almost once a week for 30 minutes and then disappeared and back running normal. I took one of my vacation day and took it to the dealer. I explained the issue in detail, he said as far as the issue not continues he can diagnose it.“People who create car cannot identify issue and leave you with possibility to stuck in the middle of nowhere of that issue happened ... funny right”. Every time the issue happening I called hyundai to come pick up the car and find out what’s going out and give me a loaner car since my work required a car all time —- customer service, case manager reject my request. Last time the issue cont. so I called the road side assistance. They took it to the dealer. The car was in repair for three days. Hyundai did not give me a loaner car and they offer the max reimbursement for rental car $38/day... that offer after I had a case # with them and two days after I was without car ... in NYC is impossible. The min car rental is $60/day in NYC and that for smaller car than the Tucson. The dealer claim that he fix it by replacing the ignition. 30 minutes after I pick the car up and on my way back the issue is happened again for 30 mins... Again back to same hyundai concept cannot identify their car issued .... funny. That would be the last car I buy or lease from hyundai. Except if you wanna ride a car with a fancy shape but 20 yrs old keep showing problems.

My engine light came on when the car had about 70000 km. I checked and no oil. I towed the car in and after a week, Streetsville Hyundai told me that it was the oil pump building up pressure and forcing all the oil out of the engine. They assured me that replacing it will solve the problem. BTW, during this repair, I was also told that the alternator belt and the steering belt were all cracked and needs replacement at my cost. I have never heard of this happening in a car that is only 3 years old. 2 weeks later I noticed the car had problem picking up speed while changing gear and would rev to 5-6K before kicking in. 3 days later, the engine light came on again and no oil again. This time apparently the whole engine needs to be replaced because something in it is completely broken when they took the engine apart. After taking my whole car apart for diagnostic, I was told that my clutch was also completely burned out because I was riding the clutch. This is my third standard cars. The first one lasted 11 years with almost 200 K without a new clutch. The second one was 8 years old with 160K when I traded in without ever changing clutch. They are machining my flywheel and changing only the clutch disk and wanted to charge me $500 for parts only. First of all, I am convinced that my driving habits were not responsible for the clutch burning and second parts only should not come anywhere close to $500. I am sure that the problem was caused by the engine. I checked and learned that if there is oil on the clutch, it can cause slippage and burn my clutch. Still arguing with Hyundai warranty. I have to agree with everyone that Hyundai warranty service is not very helpful at all when you call them to address the issue.

I just purchased a certified 2010 Sonata, with 59,000 miles on it, at Northtowne Hyundai in Gladstone Missouri. I brought the car to the dealerships service department to complain about a loud tapping sound coming from the top of the engine. I suspect it is a lifter issue. The service manager immediately dismissed the sound as fuel injector noise and stated that it was normal.I recently sold my 1995 Chrysler LHS (fuel injected) with 220,000 mile on it and never heard such a noise. I agree with the gentlemans statement on 10-19-2011. I also have a 2008 Sonata and the sun visors after about 2 years started to fall about half way down. It’s very annoying especially while you are driving. First, it was the passenger’s visor and then a few months later the driver’s visor. At first I thought that the kids were just admiring themselves but then my side started to do the same thing. Thats when I knew it was an equipment problem. Hyundai fixed both visors because they were still under warranty. Now Im having issues with the ESC light coming on and thats why Im doing research tonight. Thanks.

This is regarding the E.C.M. in I10 Sportz Kappa 1.2 model 2010 which has just crossed 10800 kms. As you can see it’s been used sparingly. Suddenly it was not starting. I called the Hyundai 24 hrs helpline service. They were not been able to assess the fault. Then I had to tow the vehicle to Hyundai service center paying RS1500 FOR NO FAULT OF MINE. Then I was informed after a day that it has e.c.m. problem and has to be replaced. My regret is that such a high end model has problem in the spare so soon as it has not even been driven 11000 kms and costing me RS35000. Do I have to pay for the faulty spare used by the company. I10 sucks as I have checked other reviews and to my shock, I came to know that they are other people suffering because of this problem. The worst part is that it was serviced just 7 days before the break down and they had charged more than 6500. It’s really sad to know that Hyundai is not able to maintain the quality. And we are the suffers. It’s like an elephant (car) whose maintenance cost of faulty parts (no fault of the customer) is more expensive than the elephant itself (car).

I havent had this car two years yet. I had work done on one of them on yesterday and by the afternoon, it was running okay before I took it in. Now the front end is shaking. My husband is in the military. We contacted Hyundai about applying the SSRA (Soldiers & Sailors Relief Act). When they applied this they lost 5 of my payments. I spent weeks trying to get this corrected. I have been treated like a criminal, talked nasty to, and demanded I pay my past due balance. If you pulled their statements online, it showed every payment, the payment history though, disappeared. They required me to send them proof that I had made all these payments. I had to go to the bank, and stamped copies of the electronic transactions. Then, they almost didnt even accept the bank statements. Finally, after going through several people, they corrected the payments by the end of January. When they corrected my payments, we lost the SSRA. So, I called in again on 2/8/12, and spoke to a manager about the SSRA. They assured me, and promised me that this would be corrected by the weekend. Well, it is the weekend, and once again, my payments, since September, have disappeared yet once again. They are saying I owe over $2,000, and I am not even sure they got the SSRA applied correctly. David in California is the only person in the entire company they say that can apply the SSRA. Really? For a company this large? They see they are trying to reverse my payments once again. Heres a new problem, they are now showing 90 days late on our credit report, and mind you, my husband is an active military, and this could cost him his career. I have requested letters 3 times from Hyundai, that this is no fault of my own, and the matter has been corrected. It is always they dont do letters, but will forward to the correct department. I am at my wits end, and have never paid any payment late. I have worked for my credit very hard, and it is not fair that a company can just mess up your account, and you pay the price.

I have owned a 2001 Hyundai Elantra for 3 years and have owned 3 Hyundais over the last 20 years. I have always been a loyal Hyundai owner, but I am now reconsidering that thought. Over the weekend, my car broke down when the control arm broke and left me right where I sat. After some research, I have discovered the part that broke was, at one time, under a recall. I called the Hyundai Customer Assistance Center yesterday, November 26, to inquire about the recall and was told that recall has expired. When I asked about the expiration date of the recall, I was told I would have to call my local dealership to find out when it expired. I couldnt understand why I would have to call the dealership when I was speaking to a case manager as he continually referred to himself as. I refused to call the dealership as someone from Hyundai had to tell the dealership when it expired. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told he was the case manager and his supervisor would tell me the same thing. I again asked for the supervisor and was told he is very busy. I was then put back on hold and had my husband go ahead and call the dealership about the recall and was told the recall was expired but he couldnt tell us when either. When the case manager came back to the phone, his story changed to my car didnt fall under the recall for the control arm issue. So, I still dont know if my car was part of the recall but the recall expired or my car wasnt part of the recall even though its the same problem that caused the recall to begin with. I didnt get anywhere with the case manager at the assistance center nor did I get to speak to a supervisor. I even left my name and number and was told he would return my call but I didnt hear back from him. At this point, my car is still where it broke down and so far, Hyundai has been zero help. I really dont want to put a lot of money into a car that I no longer have faith in the company that made it.

On June 13th, I noticed a rattling when I stepped on the gas of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. By the time I got to my destination, the car was making such a horrible noise; there was no way it could be driven further. I called the Hyundai customer service number to arrange to have the car towed to the dealer and to make sure my warranty would cover the issue. I was assured that I was still covered under the 10 year 10,000 mile warranty. The following morning, the tow truck arrived and took the car to the dealer. Later that day, the dealer called me to inform me that I would need a new engine and that my warranty would not cover it. The engine would be a used one with 71,000 miles on it and would cost $5600 not including labor. Of course, I immediately called Hyundai and was told that I was misinformed the previous day and that I did not have the 100,000 mile warranty because I was the second owner. They assured me that they would cover the tow and the diagnostic charge but they would not cover a new engine. The reason I bought the car and not the Nissan Altima, which is a much nicer vehicle, was for the exceptional Hyundai warranty. I spent the next few hours on the phone with quite a few rude customer service representatives before I reached a supervisor. I stated my issue for the umpteenth time and he once again told me that despite the fact that the car is only four years old, it is not their problem as the warranty is up. So basically, Hyundai is saying that it is acceptable for a four-year old car to have a blown engine and too bad for me. I am a single mother who has recently been unemployed and I am still paying for this car. Suffice it to say that I will never buy another Hyundai again and I will certainly let everyone I know what my experience has been.

I purchased my 2015 Sonata in January of 2016. After 3 days of ownership I noticed the panoramic roof was rattling, I returned to the dealership and the sales person said the car was just having some growing pains (this is the 3rd car I have owned with a pano roof - 05 Scion Tc and 14 Sonata Limited). I took him for his word and took a short road trip and the rattle only got worse. At 1822 miles I returned to the dealership and complained about the roof, and I was rewarded with the services manager telling me the 15s have been having issues with their pano roofs. They lubed everything up and told me they would call me when they had a fix. At 3998 (3/17/16) miles I returned to the dealership with the issue growing worse, once again Hyundai lubed the seals and said it was fixed. At this point I had enough and contacted Hyundais customer hotline and filed a complaint, and Hyundai didnt bother to respond. Shortly after my roof sustained some damage from debris and the dealership refused to work on it. They even joked around about maybe once the insurance company fixed my roof the rattle would go away. Once again I contacted customer care and filed a complaint warning of a lemon law violation. My case was passed on and I called back every single day for almost a month until I had someone return my call. Hyundai agreed to replace my entire roof under warranty, this was done in 8/8/16 at 10161 miles. Hyundai agreed to place their best warranty on the car at no cost to me and assured me the roof was fixed. A few weeks later the rattle slowly started to come back, it slowly got worse and the dealership in several undocumented occasions lubed up the seals. Once again I called customer care and spoke with their regional person who was helping me and raised my concerns. He agreed to send a engineer out to check my roof and if he determined the rattle was there Hyundai was going to buy back my car. On 3/6/17 I dropped my car off with an ever present rattle and picked it back up on 3/7/17 only to be informed that the rattle was not found by their engineer. On 3/8 Hyundai denied my claim for a buy back stating the roof was working as it is designed to do. Now I have to file a BBB complaint to get this issue resolved.

It is a common experience for the visors to fall around 60,000 miles on Hyundai Accents. I found 22 complaints on the internet right away, without delving very deeply. The driver visor fell on my head while driving, so I couldnt see for about 15 seconds. This is very dangerous. It also hurt my head. Had to hold the visor up until I got home. Then had to cut it off. The passenger visor fell a few months later. Called customer service and they kept telling me a case manager would call me. He was supposed to call within 3-5 business days. He didnt call for 25 days, until I kept calling and wrote a customer complaint on the Hyundai site. Even though this is quite a common issue... and a safety issue that is happening to many people, I was told that Hyundai wont do anything to help with the costs. It costs $300 to get both visors fixed.

I had problems with my vanity mirror on the passenger side, and the service
I had problems with my vanity mirror on the passenger side, and the service manager of Doral Hyundai denied service, telling me it was the consequence of the normal use of the car. In reality, Hyundai advertises 60,000 miles and 5-year bumper to bumper. My 2008 Sonata was purchased in October 2007, and the odometer shows less than 23000 miles. I called the service attendants in headquarters, and they agreed with the service manager. This is a violation of the warranty, and Hyundai is lying in advertising the ten-year warranty, especially the 5-year bumper to bumper. If this response stands, every claim for service after one year can be considered product or the proper use of the car. If a compromise is not reached, I will never again consider Hyundai an option to buy a car.

I have been working with Hyundai on my Trip Reimbursement Case #**, and I have been appalled by how poorly the customer service is. This happened in Jan, I submitted, it was LOST internally by Hyundai, so I resubmitted in May, and I am now sitting August 2nd and still have not heard anything about it. Hyundai is a multi-billion dollar corporation, and they cannot reimburse me for the ~$750 worth of incurred expenses from a warranty claim they did for a $35,000 car? This is insane, I will never buy from Hyundai again, and I cannot believe they are still a company with this sub-par customer service. So even though I have called dozens of times, and sent countless emails, I assume Hyundai is going to give me the same response as before, NO RESPONSE. Do not shop with Hyundai unless you want to be thoroughly disappointed.

I had purchased the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe new from Lester Glenn in Toms River, NJ. I had numerous complaints with it but most were with the transmission. The first problem took 9 visits to the dealer to have the problem repaired. I heard every line of crap and no one knew how to fix it. Corporate told me bring it to another dealer and see if they could fix it. The other dealership pulled up my VIN and saw all the times I was at this dealer with the same problem and decided they would not want to repair the vehicle. My latest events are also with the transmission showing a hot transmission temp sensor going off. I took it to my mechanic first and using his scan tool found the problem was the hi temp tranny sensor light. I took a picture with my camera of the error code, time and odometer reading because my mechanic said they will probably not fix it. Well he was right. They erased the error code and then blamed me, my mechanic and the car; because according to them the car can erase its own codes but according to Hyundai corporate the car can not do that. Then the dealership tells me that my car is now a problem car and I should sell it and buy myself one I would be happy with. Corporate tells me the problem is the dealerships not theirs even with the extended warranty. They claim only to have a business agreement with the dealership not a licensing one. DO NOT BUY ANY HYUNDAI, they are garbage and service is less than inane.

At 61000 miles, my power steering on my 08 Elantra failed - told by dealer service the sensor had to be replaced but since sensor so embedded within steering column, the only way to fix was to replace whole column. Because car was 1k miles over warranty, Hyundai would not cover - they paid half. Fast forward to today - just 40k miles later, power steering failed again. I cant afford the cost for Hyundai service to fix again. This is also not the only repeat problem Ive had with the car. Wondering if I have a lemon or if there is a different problem causing the sensor to fail. Reported to Hyundai - they wont do anything for me since they helped with the cost last time. Dealer told me they have never heard of anything like this and they say there is nothing they can do without approval from Hyundai corporate. Guess Im stuck with a car I cant drive. Hate companies that dont stand behind their product.

My wife and I purchased an Elantra back in 2013, Due to credit issues we have high interest rate and high car payment and a term for 7 years. At the time, we were desperate and needed a car. Its been over 6 years and we have less than 18 months. We owe less than 8000 on the car. Hyundai is doing everything they can to repo the car. If its note is not paid on the day. They call and call, threatening us with repossession. They Repo the car once when it was only 20 days late, after a commitment to pay was made. The last time I called to make a commitment to pay, they were heartless and telling me to borrow the money from someone. The were not this aggressive until we paid down the vehicle.

I would like to state my utter disgust and anger at the horrible customer service I have received by Hyundai Consumer Affairs. The engine blew on my 2017 Hyundai Sonata over a week and a half ago. I had it towed to Bill Dube Hyundai in Wilmington, MA. I have been waiting ever since for someone, anyone, to give me answer as to when my car will be fixed. There has been absolutely no sense of urgency and zero care or consideration for me, the customer, who has been without a car for nearly 2 weeks. It is reprehensible that this much time has gone by and not a single person can even tell me WHEN I will get an answer. The case has even been escalated. But the person it was escalated to does not answer his phone and has a recording that he will call you back within 3-days. HOW IS THAT AN ESCALATION!!!!So now another week has gone by and Im without a car or answers. The person answering the 800 number at Consumer Affairs tells me hes going to send an alert message to Scott my case manager and if he doesnt get back to me today he should by Monday. This is the same response I got from the Bill Dube dealer last week. Well I waited until Monday, nobody called me and I still have no answers. When and if this ever comes to a conclusion I will certainly be sure to tell everyone I know and anyone who will listen to NEVER BUY A HYUNDAI. Hyundai does not back up their product or care about their customers. This is deplorable.

We purchased a 2020 Hyundai Kona and drove it for approximately 12,000 mile
We purchased a 2020 Hyundai Kona and drove it for approximately 12,000 miles. At that point, the transmission started lurching and the check engine light came on. We immediately took the car in to the dealer. After a week and a half calling almost every day to find out what was wrong, we were informed that the transmission had completely failed. Still under warranty, we had to wait another two weeks or so for Hyundai to approve the repair of a car with 12,000 miles. Obviously waiting for better than three weeks just to diagnosis the repair and get the green light for repair is absurd, but it gets so much worse. As you would expect, we called the dealer every couple of days to check in. 100% of our calls went to voicemail and the dealer returned our call about 1 out of every 4 times. We were finally told that Hyundai doesnt have the parts for repair and that they dont have any timeline for getting the parts. At that point, we tried to work with Hyundai to get the car repurchased under our state lemon law. Our particular law states that cars under warranty are eligible for lemon status if they have been in the sop for greater than 30 days (cumulative) while under warranty. When we started working with Hyundai, we were already at nearly 60 days without the car. Hyundai took our information 3 separate times because they are apparently as bad at record keeping as they are at manufacturing and customer service, and then denied our request without providing a reason for the denial. We have now gone to the BBB to try and resolve the issue under their manufacturers program. The BBB says that they generally resolve issues in 30 days, but we are weeks into the process and Hyundai hasnt even responded to the BBB complaint. As of this writing, our car has been at the dealer for 72 days and we still have no idea when we may get it back or whether Hyundai plans to force us to sue them. Meanwhile, we are trying to figure out what to do to get out of this terrible purchase decision. I dont know what more I can say to warn you, but for the love of everything that is holly, do not buy a Hyundai. Maybe you will get lucky and your new Hyundai wont have a breakdown, but you really need to ask yourself if you can risk months without a car, should you have an issue. There are better options out there and you should take them. Hyundai is not worth the risk, I promise you!

This car has been a lemon from the day I bought it. It is dangerous. It began when I first started using the cruise control. It does not shut off correctly somehow. It will start accelerating when I am trying to stop the car or slow down! The tac will go all the way to six! I have to fight the acceleration using the brake. Shortly after purchase, when started in neutral, it lurched forward without cause, and ran into a parking barrier, denting the front. When I took it to the dealership while still under warranty, they said they could not replicate the situation, and did nothing. I argued with them and they agreed that if this situation gets fixed, it should be under warranty. I insisted they put it in writing. So I have been driving this way for quite a while, but that isnt the worst part of this. Yesterday, Sept. 30, 2013, I was driving the car when it started belching yellowish smoke. I parked it and investigated. No gauges came on. No fluid anywhere. Not overheating. I turned it off and had it towed to the dealership. It still has the drive-train warranty. Today, they told me it needs a new engine. They said the oil was really dirty and unless I can prove proper maintenance, the warranty is null. They did no further investigation after looking at the oil and that the exhaust is burnt out, too, and needs replaced. The cost would be from $8000 to $12,000. I still owe $14,000 on the car! The oil had been changed about 10,000 miles ago, which is too long, but not a reason for the motor to crater! No gauge lights up, only symptom is smoking exhaust. It was running fine when I parked it except for the smoke. This doesnt make sense to me.I will not go into detail about the other small things that have broken or quit working, like the lights, under-carriage being flimsy, moon-roof sticking, the no brake lights recall, etc... I have made a claim to the company and they are working on it. If they dont resolve this, I will report it on every social media site I can find, not to mention the hundreds of coworkers and students I have that will hear about it. Dont buy Hyundai.

Some it was a couple years old we were able to get the car at a reasonable cost. Payments were manageable at $250 per month. However, car would not accelerate on hills well. The smaller size made traveling with the family tight sometimes.

I purchased my first brand new Hyundai Excel in 1988 and it is still on the road so I took a shot and purchased a brand new Hyundai Accent. What I enjoy most about the Hyundai Accent, is yes, it gets great gas mileage but it drives like a luxury vehicle with lots of speed. Colorado roads are in bad need of repair but the Accent drives over most of the unavoidable potholes with ease. The drivers seat is comfortable as well as both the front and back passenger seats. I highly recommend the Accent because it has not caused me any major problems. I keep up with the general maintenance of oil change and tire rotation. Purchased a 2014 Hyundai Equus with 71 miles on odometer and Hyundai Motor America said I not entitled to 10 year/100,000 powertrain warranty as a second owner. Car purchased on Aug 1, 2015, and although manual provides for mandatory arbitration through Auto Line at BBB, I have been systematically denied an opportunity to argue my warranty rights. It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. My intention is to publish a series of editorials nationally and to pursue a criminal complaint with Brian Frosh, the Attorney General for Maryland.

On October 15 2017 my husband and I were taking my granddaughter home after an overnight visit. We were driving my 2013 Hyundai Sonata with Turbo engine. We were going southbound on highway 52 from Mount Airy to Winston-Salem. We have made this trip many times since my grandchildren have been born. We had been driving about a half an hour, my husband in the front seat, driving and my granddaughter and I in the back seat. My husband said the car is making a noise and doesnt seem to be running right. I am going to pull off at the next exit and check it out. I glanced over the seat at the dash to check for any warnings on the dash but didnt see any. What I did see was smoke coming out from under the dash. I yelled, I think the car I on fire! So as quickly as he could my husband pulled the car off the road and told me to unbuckle my granddaughters car seat and to get out. I got out and walked away from my car. I could see flames coming out from under my car and the back bumper was melting. My husband got out and got my granddaughter out. Some people had already called 911 but it was too late for my car. Flames were shooting up in the sky. The worst of the flames were around the gas tank where my granddaughters booster seat was located in the backseat. This car was well maintained and in great condition. I hope that someone finds out what caused this. It did have a recall for metal in the motor but I had already taken it in and they checked it out.

I own a Tucson ix35, I am very happy with the car to the point that I wanted to change my old one for a new Tucson. My disappointment started after I took it to the shop because of a hesitation problem. It was a Friday, at first I was attended adequately. They asked my phone to call me the next day (Saturday) to inform me what the car needed to solve the problem. They never called me until I showed up on Monday in the shop to see what the problem was. They have not even touched the car and they were surprised to see me there, at 3:00 p.m. I received a call telling me that the price was approximately 360 u.s.d because they did not know if other parts were faulty, showing that they have not checked the car professionally and technically to what I said to suspend the work. When I appeared to take my car, the person in charge tried to give me a not convincing explanation for the delay with a not very friendly attitude. After he was asked about report a serious shop is supposed to give the customers before delivering the car, the guy said Do you know what a check up is? and urged me to pay 39 u.s.d. My son was about to react but I signaled to calm down. I did not say a word, paid the bill and left the shop. The car was as dirty as I left (I do not know if they do not have any more the policy of delivering a clean car or simply the 39 dollars I paid are not worth it). Anyways the summary is: I as a customer feel mistreated and I am seriously reconsidering the possibility to buy another Hyundai. Take this information of my bad experience to try to improve the quality of the service. My best regards.

I purchased two years ago a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited certified used from a local Hyundai dealership in Waterloo iowa. At the time had done it to replaced another Sonata that had electrical issues. Last September I was made aware via the Internet that my car had a major recall with the motor. At the time, I thought about trading the car in, but no dealership would touch the car because had a knocking noise which lower value of the car. So fast forward today, I eventually had the engine replace. When I picked up my car the dealership they not only replaced the engine but done the recalled for the brake stopper pad. Soon after my current nightmare started. The motor sound like it was whistling sound every time I drove it. At first I thought it was because it was braking in so I didnt let it worry me. Then a few months later it stop this when the knocking sound came back. Also car didnt want to shift right and one time it would not start at all. Last straw was the check engine light came on and stay on. I had taken the car into a local repair shop who put it on the computer. This is when he informed me that three of the four valves were gone. That should not happen if a complete engine was replaced. So I contact Hyundai to informed them that my engine was gone again and they need to buy back this piece of junk. They took their sweet you known what time to respond to my request or even find another solution to my problem. They cant be trusted. I should mention, on September 27 about 400 pm CST I almost in serious car accident with this piece of junk. As I pulled into the parking lot of daughters dance studio, I had applied my brakes. Was putting the car into park, when the car suddenly speed up and jump the curb coming within inches hitting the building. I was completely in shock when it happen. So, asked if she seen me put my foot brake on the brake. She told me yes.So right away I called Hyundai about this event and got told have my car tow to a local Hyundai dealership which would had been the one who had done the original recall work. I done it as told and when I did not hear back from Hyundai or the dealership where the car was tow to, I got a big song and dance from them that it went to some regional Manager I should hear back soon. As of yesterday did not hear back from them, so I had my car tow outed the dealerships parking lot and sent to another reliable automotive repair shop to have the car inspect for engine damage and the brakes fix.I was lucky I had not been killed driving this piece of junk. I am now 10,000 dollars under water with this car, and cant even drive it. My advice to all who are thinking about buying a certified used Hyundai Sonatas or any other hyundai product that matter is dont. You will get burn and hurt. Take it from me. They make a beautiful product for great value, but being cheap is the being not worth at the end.

I am writing to bring to you attention a serious dissociation between the Hyundai customer value mantra. Starting my family and myself have been very loyal customers to Hyundai brand, group and dealerships in North America and abroad. That is why it pain me that my trust in the words of your dealers at the Miami Gardens Lehman Hyundai was abused during my September 14, 2014 purchase of a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2013. I expressed one of the major problems during the test drive. I asked clearly about the water droplets from the back window and was told it was condensation, which I now know to be a prevalent defect in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe architecture after being told there was no leak found on September 20, after take a picture and sending to the dealer that sold me the car. Part of the deal included tinted windows which took three days and continued broken schedules. When asked about the light scratched I was told it would be taken care of which took a week of my car being left in the auto body parking lot having to be completely repainted. On the Friday when picking up the car the key were nowhere to be found where I had to use the spare. I recently went back to the dealership to speak directly with Paul, the dealer that sold me the car, and was told he was terminated from the dealership based on conduct. I am at a breaking point, I have let so many negative aspects to the sale pass because I loved the car, but the more I think of the time and pure disrespect it leaves a bad taste. I would like a processed investigation into my sale to be implemented and will be waiting for a conclusive resolution.

Do not buy Hyundai! You will regret it. I was sold a 2017 hyundai from the dealership with about 30k miles on it. This happened while the company knew about all the faults with the 2016-2017 transmission and DCT issues (please research the vast array negative testimonials on this line). I go for services 2-3x per year and before the recommended mileages are hit (I have the receipts and documentation to show this). Despite being continuously proactive, it was not long after I starting dropping thousands in unanticipated repairs. Only 2 weeks after a multi-point inspection and supposed tune-up at Lester Glenn in Toms River, the car started stalling. I had to bring it back for additional diagnostics and repairs. Again, a few months later, I had another service done. Part of it involved a light bulb I could have changed myself but was willing to pay a few extra bucks to have done do to business. My mind changed when the service rep, Chris, attempted to up-charge me ~$150 to change the light bulb, claiming the bumper had to be removed. After some stern discussion on how I knew that was not the case, he only admitted to attempting to upcharge me after I refused that particular fix by them. Yes, he actually admitted to trying to upcharge me. After spending a few hundred on some various fluid changes and checks I went on my way. 2 weeks later, the car transmission goes and it can no longer go in reverse. Going forward it becomes dangerous too as it stalls more and stutters. When I bring it back, Lester Glenn and Hyundai say that a transmission replacement will be $4,700. This is while I still have $11,600 still to pay off on this scam of a car I have only had for 2-3yrs and got at ~30K miles. Neither Lester Glenn or Hyundai Corporate offered my family any help with this situation. They did not even waive/refund my prior diagnostic fees and wouldn’t provide a loaner car when I needed it for work! In fact, other than Shawn (head rep at Lester Glenn?), no one there even feigned sympathy or understanding for the matter. Hyundai has sent me from slightly skeptical to full-blown traumatized about the auto industry. Especially in a time where many are financially hurting from the pandemic, their actions and duplicity completely contradict the integrity claims they attempt to advertise. I cannot warn you enough to stay away from their products and from Lester Glenn’s service. I don’t want this happening to anyone else!

I bought a Hyundai i20 in March 2010. Its total running is about 40,000 km, and I have been facing lots of problem with it. At 21,000 km, I was facing engine problems. Now at 40,000 km, it’s repeated again. The company is making excuses that this will not be covered under warranty. Please guide me where I should go to resolve this problem.

In August 2015, I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Tucson in 2015. I have had all routine maintenance done and the car has 86,000 miles on it. No mechanic has ever told me of any engine issues or potential engine issues. Two weeks ago, I was driving home at 10:00 PM. Without warning, my engine seized and my car stalled in the middle of a very busy, dangerous intersection. Thanks to the assistance of my father and a good Samaritan, I was able to get my car out of the road and I was able to get safely home. However, this had the potential to be extremely dangerous for myself and other drivers on the road.I took my car to a local Hyundai dealership and I was told by a certified Hyundai mechanic that I would need a new engine. I immediately contacted the Hyundai Customer Care Center and I was told that because I am not the original owner, they will not honor the 10-year/100,000 mile warranty. I was told they might honor the limited warranty, but I would need to come up with records of every oil change I have had on the car. Other than that, they have been of no assistance to me. I am beyond frustrated and furious at this point. This is not an issue of user error, this is clearly a defect on the part of the manufacturer and they should be the ones resolve the problem. I consider myself an informed consumer, and I would not have purchased this car if I had known this was a possibility.

My 2007 Hyundai Elantra started with a clicking noise a few days ago so I took it into the dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA. They called me a few hours later to ask me for my records of my oil changes. I said, What records? The service guys said, Well we need the maintenance records in order to fix your car. I was baffled. I said, How would I even begin to obtain those? I rarely visit the same place more than once and I have lived in several cities since I bought the car. He said to me, Well then look at your bank records. I had also switched banks of almost 10 years and this was assuming I had paid debit or credit for the oil change. I let them know how ridiculous that was and how if I had been told to ensure to keep all records at the time of purchase or their warranty would be void, then I would have done so. His response was, Its in the manual. Seriously?! The 1,000 page manual that nobody reads? Ridiculous! I then asked for the manager, which he refused to give me, but said he would give me the Hyundai customer service number. I then called them and got the same responses from the first lady. Its in the manual. So I asked for a manager. The case manager Evon seemed to understand and said he would call the dealer and find out what was going on and call me back. I never got a call back from him and had to call them back myself, twice. Both times ended up speaking to 2 different people. Both of which also gave me the same response, Its in the manual. I have worked in customer service for 10 years and have never seen such terrible service. If I treated my customers the way I have been treated, I would be out of a job! The reason I purchased the car was because of the warranty! Which is how Hyundai advertises. Its ridiculous that they want records of oil changes when I have had my car for almost 6 years. How unreasonable are you guys?! I have spent countless hours calling locations I have been for oil changes. Ive had to travel to Santa Ana, Sherman Oaks, Moorpark and Simi Valley in California just to visit these locations and see if its possible to get reprints. Oh and if you do your own oil changes, you have to provide receipts of purchases of your oil. Wow! Case manager and Hyundai customer care got me nowhere. I have spent days searching and visiting shops. So ridiculous and such a waste of my time. My car has just hit 73,000 miles. Why cant you just fix it? Its still under your warranty. I am extremely angry and dissatisfied. My family has chosen Hyundai and this was the first car I had ever purchased for myself. I work hard everyday to get by and pay my rent and my car. I need to rely on my car to get to work to make that paycheck, which is why I bought a Hyundai, because I thought I was buying a reliable car with a great warranty. Not true! I have little hope that their customer service or their lies will change. I refuse to pay $3,000 for a new engine on a 6-year-old car with 73,000 miles on it!

I just like to have a horrible nightmare story with my Hyundai Sonata 2005
I just like to have a horrible nightmare story with my Hyundai Sonata 2005 in last 2 years. I desperately need your legal helps, suggestions and comments. On 02/22/2012, My Sonata 2005 just past 70,914 Miles and I was suggested by young guy name ** to change my Timing Belt and etc. I spent $967.43 to let Lehigh Valley, PA Hyundai Service Center done the job. At that point, my car just have a tire issue. After 2 weeks, I hear some noise when I first time start car. I called **. He told me because it’s new belt and Id better to tolerant it. At April, I still hear noise and little bit loud. I call them again. They let me left the car with them several days. They wrote it down as they cant find any problem and adjust timing belt little. They sold me about annual State Inspection package this time. After that, I changed Spark Plug and Engine Oil with top line product myself in the same year. I always use Hyundai Genuine Oil and Air Filters once day one and do this maintenance job myself when I purchased the car as brand new one. I tolerant this problem several months and called them again. They still tell me the same answer. I was so busy for my job and life. I cant always let them keep my car for several days to find nothing. On 04/08/2013 at 88,055 miles, I hear a belt broken sound while I am driving on I-78 and engine is completely shut down. I called them ask for road assistant and was told to paid for towing or solve myself. I managed myself to get their place. They told me that I have to pay myself for the repairs. After several days, they called and informed me that they found the engine was broken. They will cover for these repairs. In last year, I already talk to totally different Manager and Service Reps. They also told me that they had difficult to find replace engine. Until 05/01/2013, I was called for the job done.I changed engine oil with Hyundai Genuine Oil Filter and 5 Gallon Castrol High Mileage 10W40 myself last summer. And I wish I can keep this car for another 5 years. However, I notice in Nov. the oil check light sometimes flashing in an barely occasion while I drive on highway ramp and stop at traffic. Im NOT pay too much attention about this issue. I know if I call them, they will keep my car for several days and find nothing. Thats about their service and skills.Last month of 8th, I try to pull my car from heavy snow in dark evening and the car start as normal and was NOT working after several times back and forth to pull out. With several light on, I can start the car at all. I give up my efforts to drive car out in that evening. I called my job off in second morning and try to start it again. It was OK and out of from the snow. I immediately drive to LV Hyundai Service Center and notice that the engine check light is solid ON while I stop at traffic. They call me afternoon and tell me they cant find any engine oil in my car and the engine is broken again and ask me about engine oil and filter purchase receipts. I usually dont keep these small purchase receipt for my normal life. However, I can show them my a couple of old replacement Hyundai Genuine Oil Filters in my garage. I bring two used filter and one air filter. I argue with them NO CAR should running under engine oil while my gas tank is 80% full. Your engine has a big design defect. You should repair or replace it again under your all your warranty claims and consumer protection laws. I talk to them back and forth several time already. They still refuse to do so. I dont have my car for more than one month. Please help me if you all can. Thank you very much in advance.
