Well car ran great until 55000 miles. Check engine light intermittently coming on and off. Engine sounds like its failing. Took it in under warranty and cant get any Hyundai to be able to repair the failure but as soon as I get it back the failure occurs. They claim to give you the best warranty but in reality its just a piece of paper. They dont actually stand behind it. Purchasing a GoPro now to prove issue and show consumers what a RIP off Hyundai is. Paid 18,000 for a new car that didnt make it past 60000 miles before failure. Dont buy a Hyundai.

Have had enormous trouble with the 2018 Tucson SEL Plus that I leased recently. The transmission cant seem to pick a gear, and the car constantly freezes/stalls when between gears, which is pretty much all the time. My concentration has to 100% focus or Im getting in a wreck. The car isnt really drivable. Took the car to a dealership - they told me thats just how the car drives. Took it up to Customer Service via the manufacturer; they declined to assist in any way without so much as having anyone look at the car. Basically, the response Ive gotten from the manufacturer is, Oh well, youre stuck with your lemon. No efforts made to assist; they cant even manage to get me into a dealership for service without a lag time. Leasing this car is one of the worst mistakes Ive ever made, and Ive driven other Tucsons before this. Hyundai does not have any interest whatsoever in standing behind their product, or customer satisfaction in any way; never, ever get a Hyundai, because if anything at all is wrong with it, youre basically on your own. The entire experience has been a nightmare, and continues to be.

2012 Hyundai Tucson. Bought my Hyundai late in 2012. My car has 86,000 miles on it (I commute for work) and the motor is shot. No noise. No lights. No warnings at all. I was traveling and engine light came on and thirty SECONDS later I was on the side of the road. I have had to argue through all of this with the dealer and Hyundai in order for my car to be repaired. I have (thankfully) kept all maintenance records through my mechanic. Needs new motor and there are none available because Sonatas were all recalled for the engine design issue. Same issue as the design flaw in mine but Hyundai gambled with lives and warranty that the engines wouldnt go until after warrantys were up. This has been a nightmare!!! They are telling me it is going to be 8 plus weeks before my vehicle is repaired. In the meantime the dealer has given a loaner car that is NOT comparable to my vehicle what so ever and it is the Sonata you know the one that has been recalled for motor!! Are you kidding me. Husband and I are speaking to a lawyer... Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!

I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. After the second week, found the passenger outer door handle doesnt work properly. So I called my salesman, made the appointment to bring the car in. While having this problem, the car hobbles every morning. Dealership told me it was the tires, and there is nothing they can do about it. The tires will smooth out in an half a mile. Well this every day thing stinks! On top of it the driver’s seat creaks, and now has somehow gone away, and after waxing it for the first time I find blemishes in the paint. Nothing you can do about it, it will just look worse if you fix it. The biggest problem is the Blue Link telecommunications in the car. It is terrible. It was so poor. I was calling Blue Link every day with issues like, why wont the car start with the phone, why wont it unlock the doors, and the maps they use are google, which are not updated often, so the car has no idea on where to take you. The whole car after one month just feels like Ive owned it for years, like a used car. I will never purchase a Hyundai again. I tried it, not worth it.

I took my car into the Hyundai dealership on 9/23/17 for service only because we received 2 recall notices, one for the engine and one for the steering coupler. There were no other issues. I was advised after technician checked the car there was a small split at top of left tire and car indeed failed their engine test and it would be replaced under the recall. On 10/19/17, received a call the car was ready for pick up. Upon checking out I was advised the technician noticed a noise coming from the steering rack. Mind you, before we dropped the car off, there were no issues or noises. Ok... was advised this is not covered under my warranty and would be around 1000.00 out my pocket to repair. After leaving the dealership noticed a metal scraping sound coming from middle of car. Went back to service dept that Saturday morning (10/21/17) around 9:15 am to advise and was asked when I wanted to bring the car back because technician that worked on my car was off and he had to be the one to work on it. Took car back that following Monday, 10/23/17, explained issue again and proceeded to walk in the waiting room. I forgot to ask the advisor a question so I went back to the service desk and overheard the technician that worked on my car talking to other advisors stating, I dont know what it could be. Maybe its the rotors. I know he was the technician that worked on my car because I asked him, Are you talking about my car... and no its not the rotors because we got them replaced along with the brakes about 2 weeks ago and there were no issues or noises afterwards. Ok, so technician takes car for a test drive and claims he didnt hear any noises!!!I drove the car this time with the service manager and guess what... he heard the noise. I was told by him they would handle the issue. After another check of the car, I was told this time, it was the Front end valve muffler making the metal scraping noise. The service manager submitted a goodwill courtesy request to have the repair done at 100%, then 50%... both denied due to warranty expired. Manager offered to repair at MY expense at the warranty rate of $506.56 for the part, $50.00 labor and $10.57 for gasket part. I feel like this was a technician error when reinstalling the engine due to the recall. My car was not having any issues or noises prior to dropping it off on 9/23/17, and again we only took it in due to the recalls. This is so unfair and poor customer service. I was warned by others not to go to this particular Hyundai dealership in Durham. I should have drove the extra miles to the one in Cary.

All of the cars I had looked at were either too expensive or a piece of junk. When I finally came across the Hyundai, I took it. It was the best-looking one and was also a reasonable price. I purchased it from a private seller because I needed a car because I was moving away from home soon. I like the cars accelerator and it can take off fast. On the other hand, the breaks are bad and need improvement. You have to pump the brakes hard for the car to fully stop. It also keeps having problems with the headlight that it keeps going out and the power steering is always going awry. It also used to have very good gas mileage, but now it seems to eat its own gas. Also, the seats are not very comfortable and the stereo system could be much better sounding in terms of sound quality. I am looking to sell this car one day and buy a better one.

I am on my 4th consecutive Hyundai, and for the most part find them to be good value. BlueLink, on the other hand has changed my opinion of Hyundai. The customer care service, which is required to get any other service, is not valuable and Ive never used it. I paid over $3K extra for a package with push button start so I could take advantage of the remote start feature. Its ridiculous that I have to pay $200/year to use this. I would actually be much better off to pay to have a remote car starter installed. Id do this if I hadnt paid so much for the push button start feature. Ive tried calling Hyundai to see if they could offer any sort of promotional rate, especially considering that now new owners get 3 free years of BlueLink. I tried calling BlueLink customer service on several occasions and hung up after being on hold for over 30 min each. Finally, after a 45 min hold I got through and the rep was able to offer me absolutely nothing. I let him know that when I trade next time, I will be inclined to consider something other than Hyundai.

As my car came to end of lease, I called Hyundai twice. They never told me there was a fee to return the car early -- I returned it 20 days before end of contract and they tell me that now that there is a $400 early termination fee, plus if the car loses money at auction, I am liable for that amount, too. The car was over on miles, which is why I called (twice) before returning. Whether its sitting in my driveway or on their lot, I dont know why that would matter, and as far as them losing money at auction, I cant control that. Predatory.

Terrible cars... worse service. I am the owner of a 2008 Hyundai Accent. It was my first new car purchase almost a decade ago. Thats great, except for when I actually took possession of the keys. Within three days the gas cap had to be replaced due to depressurizing. Then about 18 months later there was an issue where the key would go into the ignition, but would not turn. The wheel lock was not the issue. Roadside came out, and said one of the tumblers were jammed. They tapped the key with a rubber mallet, and the key went in without issue. Fast forward three years later, the original 5-year warranty had expired. This time the key would not even go halfway into the ignition. I had to pay $65 for a tow, $700 out of pocket for a new ignition, plus $200 for a rental car. The excuse I got from Hyundai of Bedford Heights, Ohio was that the weight of my keys were too heavy. There were a total of six keys on my ring. It took about a month, but they refunded me the tow and the ignition, and basically told me I was out of luck on the rental. Now there was the recall for the undercarriage rust protection in the snow-belt states late last year. Two weeks before I received the notice, the entire exhaust pipe from the front axle to the muffler fell off the car in the middle of the street. Driving it to a Midas down the street, it was found the pipe, and all the welds that attach to the undercarriage were RUSTED out... imagine that! That was $1,000 out of my own pocket. Thankfully, Hyundai offered a reimbursement program. I get a call several weeks after I filed the claim wanting to know exactly why I was filing the claim. I had yet to hear anything, so I wanted to see if they offered a status update. Sure enough... denied. So magically Hyundai offers to spray the undercarriage to prevent rust under recall, then tells you to stick it when parts have already fallen off due to the reason why the recall was initiated in the first place. I will never purchase another Hyundai again, and Ive gladly talked several friends out of purchasing their product in the last few years. I even laugh at people driving Hyundai vehicles with new tags on them, because I know the world of pain they are due for.

In June 2011, I bought a Hyundai Elantra 3-year warranty. I was excited because it is just what I wanted. However, several problems started to occur. First, the indicator switch had to be replaced within the first 2 weeks. Second, after six months, we experienced screeching noises. I took it to a local dealer on various occasions. They replaced the break calliper and brake pads etc. but the noise still persisted. My husband said it was a release bearing but they did not agree. I took it to Johannesburg and after ten days, they agreed that it was the release bearing, which they replaced just before the warranty expired. This process took over a year. Third problem was the indicator switch was faulty again and it had to be replaced again. After the warranty expired, it had a knock in the engine, which they diagnosed as a valve lifter. We paid over R4,000 to have these replaced. The day we collected the car from the garage, there was an explosion, during which, 6 cars were burnt out, fortunately, mine was in the wash bay. There still was a noise in the engine. Two weeks later, when they had a temporary workshop, they gave me a quote for a further R15,000 for replacement of Chain Guide A & B, Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump etc. The even quoted for replacement of boot latch (very noisy boot) and still have to replace indicator switch.I am so disappointed. Everyone who I have been in contact with regarding the car has admitted that this should not be happening to a car that (at that stage) only had 60000 km on the clock, now R72750. None of the Elantra cars in Kimberley have similar problems. I spoke to a few of the owners personally. All I am asking for is a normal sounding car. I am embarrassed when people ask me why the car is so noisy, even my lady friends who do not have a clue anything about cars, are concerned.I am now waiting for them to repair the car and the parts have been ordered. They cannot carry out the repairs, as they are waiting for a part, which was shipped to SA and is taking forever. It was ordered weeks ago and their words are that it is taking so long because they have never needed to order a part of this nature before. My husband is a pensioner and does not drive like a maniac. He is a very careful driver.I am not a difficult person but I am so disillusioned. I love the Hyundai product and bought an Atos for my daughter years ago. She loves her car and never has any problems. To me, the Elantra we bought was a dud. The outside looks good but it is bad on the inside. I could write a book but am only focusing on the most important. We do not have the funds to buy a new car and we bought the car for R160,000 and the book value is now only R71,000. I implore you to attend to this complaint and not just ignore it. I am sure that if you were in my place you would feel the same. I have spoken to consumer services on numerous occasions but to no avail.

I purchased a brand new Sonata, 2.0 Limited edition May 2016. I have 1,032 miles on the car. I was backing out of a parking spot when the power steering failed. It took roadside assistance 2.45 hours to get me and tow my car to the dealership. This happened July 16, 2016. Today is July 26 and the response that I am getting from the service center is that there are major computer problems thats causing the issue and they are working with technicians from Hyundai to get it fixed. They do not know when this will be done. I did some research and saw that there was a recall on the same vehicle prior to the manufacture date of my vehicle. I also experienced an issue with the ABS brakes. When I am stopped in traffic the brake will release and I have to press harder on the brake for the car to stop rolling. Oh, this is also caused by the computer failure. From what I have read thus far on this site, and carcomplaints.com this seems to be a reoccurring...major issue and it appears that Hyundai does not know what or how to fix it. I am very upset about this whole situation right now. Paying for a car that I cant drive. Im concerned that this will continue to be a safety issue and Hyundai has no idea how to repair it. In the middle of dealing with death in the family and having to travel out of town, I was given a loaner, but they did not want me to drive that one out of state (NC), so they gave me a rental. Its a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and would you believe that I have to go trade that car out for another vehicle today because the engine light is on. I contacted Hyundai myself to see if I could get any answers, they said they were unaware of the issue and opened a case. They said they will allow the dealership 3-5 business days to respond and would get back with me. At what point does this become a serious recall issue and we as consumers get this resolved.

I recently purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and I was sold a higher model which cost me an additional $1,700 + taxes as I required the Bluetooth technology for my cell phone as I conduct work in my car. I was assured it works with all cell phone models and after purchasing the vehicle, the option does not work with my Blackberry 9900. After researching the issue, it is a known problem that Hyundai Canada is aware of. Despite contacting them and sending in a formal complaint to their customer relations department, they refuse to do anything to remedy the situation. I’m very dissatisfied and I will never recommend a Hyundai to anyone I know. I am disappointed with the fact that the product doesnt work (doesnt synch). But what is more upsetting is that they simply brush me off and refuse to find me a suitable solution. I will be forced to go purchase a new device and incur additional charges (~$700) just so I am able to use their Bluetooth technology with a phone model that their product is compatible with.

This morning I found my front passenger tire completely deflated in the parking lot of my apartment complex, right as I was trying to get to work. I reached out to Hyundais roadside assistance hotline and I spoke with Bridget, who was so patient with me and very helpful. She was very detailed with me and was able to get assistance to me in under an hour. They also sent a link to my cellphone so that I could track en route where the tow truck was and how soon they would be there. Josh, my roadside assistance mechanic, was early and could not have been nicer. He was finished with my tire replacement in ten minutes or less and answered all of my questions. He also made sure I had an appointment right away to get my tire fixed/replaced. My service today was excellent and I highly recommend Hyundais 24/7 assistance program. They really made me feel like a valued customer.

Drove an hour from my home to Stockbridge, Massachusetts and left my keys on my car seat only to return and found out I was locked out. I called Hyundai roadside service and was told it would be 58 minutes for service to arrive. I waited an hour and called again and the automated response said the driver was 3 minutes away. I waited another 15 minutes and called and got a Hyundai live person and he told me that the service company 911 was 3 minutes away. Here’s where Hyundai roadside service failed. After waiting almost 2 hours I called and they told me that the service company canceled the work order to unlock my car because it was not their area. I was furious at this point and asked what do I do. After another 2 hours I received a call that a roadside assistance vehicle would come from Lenox, Mass. Will be there in approximately 5 hours. At this point I had to call my son to bring me another set of keys. It took him over 3 hours for a round trip run. It was either that or break my window a bill Hyundai. I will reconsider buying another vehicle that claims it offers roadside service.

While driving on 5 Freeway in California my 2014 Hyundai Elantra started to violently shake like someone hitting the brake. I threw it in neutral and help my wife turn the steering wheel because we lost power steering. We got lucky and had a space to coast to the side of the road. When we got towed to Tuttle-Click in Irvine, CA and our car turned into the Service department. They basically said we are on our own to find a ride back home and no loaner car. Two days later I have to call them to find out the problem. First a technician said that it was a bad battery but that would not have caused it to completely shut down. Then a few hours later the Service Manager calls to say it was the battery and that is what caused it to shut down on us. I dont know who to believe but my wife doesnt want to ever drive or ride in it again. I have filed a complaint with Hyundai Corporate but dont know what they can do. I guess time will tell.

Since buying this car it has been a horrible experience. Would not recommend Hyundai to anyone. The buying experience at Southtown Hyundai in Edmonton was the worst I have had. When purchasing the vehicle, the dealership was difficult to accept a price offer that worked well for us and them, and in addition did not provide a test drive or viewing of the vehicle I was purchasing even though it was on a different lot nearby. The manager also became rude and aggressive towards my husband and I when we were asking to receive the GoCard promotion. In addition, when picking up my new vehicle it was not completely washed properly and I never got to view it prior to pick up. It was a really bad experience, that I thought would be the end of it. Since having the vehicle it has been into the dealership multiple times as the drivers door does not open after being unlocked in any cold weather. The only way to open the door is to crawl across the passenger seat and open it from the inside in freezing weather, on a brand new car. It has been fixed with a new door latch, which did not fix the problem that came back only 2 days after. It has also been fixed again with a new lubricant that works in colder temperatures as per Hyundai Canada- which stopped working again after a day. I have now booked it in again for the same issue. Calling Hyundai Warranty does absolutely nothing to fix it either, as they respond that the dealership would need to look at it again if it is still not fixed, and they can not do anything for it. At this point I absolutely hate my car that is a new 2020, working like a 1900 pickup truck. I hope that Hyundai can fix it, or provide me some sort of service for the issues involved. But as of right now they have yet to even seem to care.

Our second & last Hyundai. Car hesitates & bucks very bad from a full stop. Fuel gage not accurate at all. According to brochure car has a 16.4 gallon fuel tank, but when you go to fill it only takes about 9-10 gallons after low fuel indicator reads 30 miles or so to empty. Took car to Obrien Hyundai of Fort Myers shortly after purchase & given a runaround about problem. Told by service writer that there was no code displayed.Talked to 2 independent mechanics who both said it sounds like the fuel pick up or sending unit is either bad or loose in fuel tank. Filled out complaint form with Hyundai USA, called back a week later & was told someone would contact me. No one ever contacted me. After another 2 weeks called Hyundai & was told issue was not escalated because problem did not sound serious enough. Finally contacted Hyundai USA customer service who agreed to escalate case.

I have the car since 2012 and have never had a problem except for a battery but that was to be expected. I looked for a long time and checked out many dealerships to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. All cars should have back up camera standard. I like the warranty. My SUV is covered bumper to bumper for 100000 miles or 10 yrs whichever comes first. This is why I bought this vehicle so that I should not have any problems. I wanted to make this the last vehicle I buy and so far it is small yet has plenty of room for boxes, my dogs and even people. It seats five people comfortable. I love it.

I bought a new 2016 Hyundai Veloster in June 2017. This bad smell would come and go. At that point youd smell the damp smell on your clothes and hair the test of the day. Well that week in June there had been lots of rain, car smell came back. Took the car to the dealership on July 24 for oil change. 25th took the car in for them to investigate the smell. Had a water leak at the roof of the car, where the seal didnt bond the glass roof to the frame. Water had gotten into the car and floor was soaked. Him ** ordered a new roof, carpet, Sun visors, and headliner. Called me to come pick up the car. The car still had the smell. I know firsthand I smelt like the car many off times. Had to go in public smelling like sour mildew from this car. I wasnt happy. Manufacturer refused to stand by its product by honoring what was wrong. Ruet treated me like it was my fault something was wrong with the car. The car needed everything material and electric replaced. She even contacted the dealership to see if the car was drivable with the mold and mildew. My health wasnt an issue to them. The Veloster roofs can leak and cause mold and mildew and that horrible smell. Clothes ruined by that smell. Cant get them rid of the smell as they sat in the car as my back up clothes from walking. I still have the paperwork from the car that smells and it was in the glove box.

Watch out for the hidden disposition fee Hyundai Finance charges at the end of a lease if you return the car to a dealer. I leased a new 2011 Elantra and their dealer never mentioned about the disposition fee. When I returned it in June this year, a month later I got a letter from Hyundai Finance charging me $400 + $4.06 taxes. Given the car was in A1 condition (as per the lease end inspection report) and had only 21k miles on it, youd think they could waive the fee. They do waive the fee if you buy it or re-lease a new car, so why not with a low mileage, A1 condition car. After all, the disposition fee is supposed to cover the dealers expense in preparing the car for resale. What expense was there in preparation on my ex-lease car? Zero to none! Ive asked Hyundai exactly that in a written letter. To date no reply. All they want is the disposition fee. All you hear from them is its in the contract like a broken record. Its the last time I ever lease a car, especially from Hyundai. Stay away from them.

Bought a Hyundai Elantra 2010 at Linwood in Paducah. A/C not working but did not know it; accepted hot air from it as normal. Drove in this condition with my cat to Lexington, KY; cat suffered heat exhaustion. Took it to the Glenn Hyundai and they said they fixed it. Same problem cropped again and again. And sometimes I did not use A/C. When I took it the last time for the AC: Dealer rep accused me of going there a few times and not ever mentioning that the AC was a problem and once I had not hit the button. Dealer said fixed it the first time - that dye was placed and small valve problem fixed. But I heard nothing about this. This time by mistake I saw the dealers notes which said cracks on belt. But that was not mentioned to me. Why were these belts not replaced during warranty? Do they wait until the warranty is over to cheat? Also, early on, I drove to another city and felt the steering pulling to the right. Being inexperienced and afraid of big trucks, I drove into the guardrail but I distinctly felt the tug to the right. This was in Jan/Feb 2010. In 2014/2015, Hyundai asked Hyundai Elantra owners to go to the dealer and get this steering problem fixed. Surface of steering wheel, brake lever, brake and gas foot pad all eroding after only 1 yr or 2. Got a lemon. Regret buying Hyundai. Nightmare car!!!

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with less than 75,000 miles. I was driving and when you got up to 2500 rpms, the motor started clattering then the engine light came on then went off again. So I parked it and took it to the mechanic today, Monday 8/11/14. They checked it and I need a new motor. The oil was low 2 quarts apparently and it doesnt leak and the oil light didnt even come on. I THINK THERES A PROBLEM HERE AND HYUNDAI NEEDS TO DO A RECALL! Now its going to cost 3500 to get another motor that has 85,000 miles.

The recall was something with my motor therefore Hyundai towed my car to a dealer for repair. I have had NO car for 2 weeks. The dealer had NO loaner and I am already out almost $900 trying to repair my car. I was Advised to get a rental so another charge for this vehicle that is being repaired due to a recall. I was unable to ever get a power of attorney until I called corporate several times and explained that this was a breach of contract by not sending me the necessary documents. It was in decent condition and within my budget range. I like the gold color and its good on gas. Its reliable and comfortable enough to get to and from where I need to be. Otherwise, its an average car with average features and has some issues, but thats typical for a used car. Maintenance is expensive, I wish it wasnt as much to upkeep. Its also an older car, so its features work but are pretty dated. Also, the beige upholstery is god awful and dated.

I have a 2012 Genesis Coupe 3.8 loaded.. leather interior, etc... The car is only 2.5 years old. The back seat leather started to fade about a year after I bought the car. The front seats started to fade and rip about the same time. I had to give the service dept. bad rating in order to get their attention. They agreed to repair the back seats but refuse to repair the front seats. Im the only one in the car 95% of the time. Ive owned many cars with leather interior. Ive NEVER had such experience where the interior quality is so poor that it falls apart on its own. Im so frustrated with them that Im ready to trade the car in and get something else. This car has been sub-standard in quality and overall value. I would recommend that you stay away from this make until they cleanup their act. Very disappointed.

I paid extra for a paint and protection warranty 2 1/2 years ago (5 year plan) cost $295.00, for my Hyundai Elantra. I took my car in Sept. 13, 2014 on a Saturday, specifically to get my interior cleaned. I left my car there and came home. Four Hours later I was called and told they could not do the interior as they had no one to do this. Also the service advisor Pedro ** in charge told me this was the first time he heard of this warranty. And was told I had to come back during the week. I told him I couldnt as I work and they should have told me this hours ago or better yet the time I made the appt.. Well the service advisor Pedro ** stated they would do the cleaning. Well when I got my car back the seats were wet in spots, and when they dried none of the stains were gone. I have not called them back but I will and let them know how disappointed I am as I have paid for this service, and no one was honoring it. This will probably go on deaf ears but maybe it will stop someone else from giving the car dealership more money for service they dont follow up on.

When I got the vehicle, it drove just perfect. It cost me over $500.00 to fix the front ends. No noise and felt very firm. About 2 weeks after, the noise started again like it was never fixed. I am writing to complain about a manufacturing defect I have since I bought
I am writing to complain about a manufacturing defect I have since I bought a brand new Verna 1500cc in 2006 from Ghabbour in Egypt. The level of motor oil goes to minimum after 2000 to 3000 km. With no reason, the car was sent 3 times to Ghabbour main centers in Abourawash an Kaliuob and each time, it took them between 2 to 5 days. They said it was fixed but the defect is still there. I have no hope in Ghabbour and I stopped going there after I reached 50,000 (warranty) with no fix of the defect. I got a feedback from the market that during 2005-2006, Verna local production had this oil defect and the solution is replacing the motor, but they did not do that and let me suffer. Until now, I have to check the motor oil each 2000 km and add more oil to avoid motor problems. 10 days ago, I had another shock with a Hyundai service center in Egypt. I went for a major maintenance (with changing all fuel tube tree) but after I took the car, I found a problem in acceleration. I went back to them and they told me that a motor sensor need replacement. I went to another non-Hyundai general service center and they told me that the fuel tube tree was fixed in a wrong way, and this has no relation to the motor sensor. Now, I have no trust in Hyundai in Egypt. Even though I want to sell the car, I found out that I will have to go down 20% less than the market price because of the manufacturing defect it has as it needs a new motor. So I have lost my money and my time because of my wrong choice by choosing to buy this measurable car, and now I am experiencing acceleration problems because of the Hyundai service centers bad quality in fixing the fuel tree. It is very disappointing and frustrating to have this experience. I met a service manager in Audi who advised me to write to Hyundai HQ about this, and i am doing it now with no hope after all what I have experienced in the last 5 years with Hyundai in Egypt. During the last 3 years, when somebody asked me about what car to buy, I strongly recommended to not go for Hyundai in Egypt as if the car will have a manufacturing defect, it will not be fixed and you will be losing tour time, money and even safety. This is based on my experience and other peoples experience when I met them in Hyundais main service center during the 3 times I sent the car there to fix the manufacturing defect during 2006-2008. Again, with no hope, I am writing this and hope that this will make you be aware about the bad practice by Ghabbour here in Egypt; that one day will affect you sooner or later. I will help in building a community for customers who suffered from Hyundai in Egypt to bring the real image of Hyundai in Egypt to people who are thinking about buying a Hyundai in Egypt.

My husband is a full time Uber driver & his income is extremely important for us because with my part time job we can’t afford to pay the our bills. Everything was quite good since he drove Hyundai Ioniq hybrid 2017 which helped us a lot to spend less on fuel but one day suddenly the car stopped without any warning sign and the Hyundai Kitchener towed it and we were advised that it’s a recall for Hybrid system so we thought it will take a week or two but omg it has been 4 months we didn’t get our car back! Since this car was everything for us and my husband couldn’t do Uber with a rental car it has been 4 minutes we lost the income. He called thousand times for help & complain about the service to Hyundai Canada but they didn’t give a **, instead we were insulted that you should know the rules. We can’t do anything! We talked with a lawyer to sue the company for the income loss but the lawyer said these giant companies are protected by law we can’t help you. Seriously??We bought this brand new car so expensive to face this day? We are facing a lot of problems and the loss of income for four months for a middle class family is the worst thing.. I’m writing this only to inform you people be very careful before purchasing any car from Hyundai, they don’t value their customers and treat you like **.. now I’m not gonna stop this complain and will even call some tv channels to show the reality of this company because the money we bought this car that was our ten years saving and lost everything. The worst company with worst service and very bad management with bad quality cars.

Zero Rating if possible. I dont really know where to begin with this brand and its terrible cars. I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata Turbo in 2013. Ive spent countless hours with my car in the shop over the car sputtering, shaking, cutting off at stop signs. Not to mention the electronics in the car are terrible; Bluetooth doesnt connect half the time for unknown reasons. Theres been at least 4 recalls done since I purchased this car. I had to get a total electrical discharge done to reset the electronics because the car was going haywire. Finally, Im down on Myrtle Beach for vacation and the car totally shuts off. Turns out it was a faulty engine that needed to be replaced. Took 30 days to get the engine sent in from Korea and replaced. Then somehow the rental car that I had racked up an amazing 2400 bill of which Hyundai determined to only pay $400. And then afterward I noticed the car jumping and things shifting and making horrible noises under the hood. Turns out the repairmen didnt screw the transmission mount screws on tight enough both of the bolts had the heads off and the transmission was moving around while I was driving. The dealership told me the car would be fine to drive and so I did until it just became unbearable. Now they want me to fork over another $1700 to replace the entire subframe that they messed up when installing the engine. Hyundai is a horrible company with Horrible cars. I will never purchase another thing from you and your terrible dealerships. Go out of business for the countries sake or leave your terrible cars in Korea.

I guess this means that it cannot be used from May through September in the Henderson/Las Vegas area, as the temp is always over 100. I cannot believe they think this is acceptable. Took car in - eng. light on, abs, 4 wheel light, esc light on. First off they charged me 150 to diagnose eng. light which should have been covered under warranty because light was on. Second abs, 4wd, and esc light was on due to and to have car inspected the dealer claims car wont pass inspection because of brakes and rear tires (they did same last year - when I left that dealer and went to a local Ford dealer the car passed with no problems. I couldnt take the car to the Ford dealer this year because eng. light was on). Wheel speed sensor (which they replaced last year [other side]) dropped off on Monday 4/20/15. Was called on 4/24/15 car was done picked up car on 4/25/15 cause I work 2nd shift so did not get call till midnight when I got home. Went Sat. morn to pick up car - drove car home. While getting ready to go to work noticed oil on back window, tail gate, and rear bumper. Looked in motor compartment and noticed oil around and on motor. Checked oil - the level was up so guessed they didnt clean up oil from changing valve cover. Called dealer. Explained problem. They wanted me to bring car back. Said I couldnt because of work and never make it by the 6pm time he gave me. I told him what I thought it was he asked to check oil level. Told him I did and level was up. He said ok to drive but keep eye on oil level and to call Monday morning to make arrangements to bring car in. Did as instructed - called on Mon. morn. Was told to try to have car towed. Tried to find tow truck - only one the dealer suggested was 200 and about 3 hours. Called dealer back. Explained to him about tow co. and explained to him that I looked under car and that there was no oil under the motor but there was oil dripping from where they put the new axle in. He told me not to drive the car in but to have it towed in. I asked him who pays the tow bill. He stated I have to. I told him it was where they fixed it why do I have to have it towed in. His statement was until they find out the problem was it was up to me to get it in. The dealer called me on 4/28/15 - stated that the leak was from the axle that for some reason that the axle would not lock in. I asked him then who pays the towing bill, he stated to bring bill in but he doubts they will pay.Third oil leak in motor, they said was valve cover gasket was leaking again (replaced last year for same reason). Also when I dropped the car off the week before that there was a chirping noise in the front of the motor. The dealer claimed it was idler pulley and replace it now. The motor knocks real bad. The dealer said it was my fault for not having oil changed on a regular time frame, I told him that it was changed on a reg basis. He told me that the oil filter was full of sludge. I told him that You show me one motor that at 97000 miles that doesnt have sludge in it.He got pissed off and wouldnt talk until I asked if he was still there on the phone. He told me to bring in receipts for oil changes. I dont have all because there were times I changed oil and filter myself. He told me that I would have to pay to have the motor torn down at my cost at three hours labor and if there is any sludge in motor that I would have to pay them for the repair. Every time I take car to this dealer I always have problems and no other dealer will do the work on the car because of the warranty and the extended warranty. Sorry. Tried to be short and to the point as possible.

Once there, I was told they dont have a replacement car for me to drive while the car is in their shop and that the oil pump they ordered should arrive in a few days, and I am still waiting for it! I am an essential worker who needs a car to get to and from work! I called Hyundai customer service, I was assigned a case manager who had no clue what to do, what part I needed for my car or how to find out when it will be shipped. He recommended I rent a car while Im waiting for mine to be fixed (which could take weeks...) and said I will be reimbursed $30/day if I rent a Hyundai or $20 for a different car. I live in New York City, those are not the rental prices I can find here. Meanwhile, I am still paying for my lease and cannot use the brand new car! It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. The 2012 Hyundai Sonata is pretty and stylish inside and out. I bought the Limited Trim with all the bells and whistles. Problems: The steering began to tug to one side while the car was still under bumper-to-bumper warranty. We took the car several times to the dealership and they could not see anything wrong with the vehicle. I was told this behavior was within Hyundais specification and that it was normal for the vehicle. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that has this abnormal normalcy. This problem has not gone away. Vibration. I cannot tell you enough how irritated I have been with this vibration. Once you go over a certain speed (Im not sure at the moment, but Im not talking of highway speed - just normal in-town speed), the car begins to vibrate. Ive gone to the dealership over and over and over. I am tired and angry that a brand new 2012 car will behave this way and the people at the dealership cant figure out what the seems to be the problem. Not too long ago, my wife and I noticed that when turning the vehicle made a certain noise as if something was about to break, as if some metal was hitting another metal. The dealership said it was a steering column problem and we had to pay out of pocket to fix it since we have put over 60,000 miles on the car. The car has gone out of bumper-to-bumper warranty. The lingering problems (listed above), I have to fix out of pocket. It will take a lot, a whole lot, for me to buy a Hyundai vehicle ever again. I loved the roominess and stylishness of the Sonata, but it seems that those are about all it has. I am very disappointed in this vehicle to say the least. My 2009 Chrysler 300C never gave me these troubles.

I have had nothing but problems from Hyundai since I bought my SUV in December 2017. Blue Link is a joke. BTW there is no one at Corporate Headquarters over Blue Link. Customers are subjected to whatever decisions are made concerning problems by whichever Supervisor is working that day. NO ONE ever owns the problem. NEVER give this company access to any of your bank accounts. They will charge what they please. THE WHOLE HYUNDAI CORPORATION is a joke!!! They changed policy about making one time payments WITHOUT ANY notice to the customer. I changed from electronic bills to paper bills so I can mail my payment in to them rather than pay a fee from Western Union to make a one time payment. Since they are NOT trustworthy on having access to your checking account, I will not give them the ability to access my account!!! I detest this company!!!

Back in late November of 2012, I found out that Hyundai misrepresented their gas mileage on the Hyundai Elantra. There was an email address to write to. I did, and was told that I would receive money each month for as long as I owned my car, in the amount of $37.56 per month. It has been over four months now and I have not heard from them, nor received any money from them. This is my 5th Hyundai (3 Elantras, 1 Azera, and 1 Santa Fe), but if I dont get any results from them on this matter, this will be my last Hyundai.

Bought new Veloster 2012 March 2015 with 9,237 miles clutch when I was told not covered due to the 12,000/12 month warranty. I stated should be covered by Hyundai Assurance 5 year/50,000. They agreed and then later said service was misinformed and never should have agreed to it being covered. Went back to the 12,000/12 month warranty. I argued and a final decision was it was covered by the 5 year/50,000 warranty but OUTSIDE causes is the reason the clutch/flywheel/disc failed. Not Hyundai....I asked what was OUTSIDE cause.......no response from Hyundai. Once you buy the car they determine what their warranty covers and it seems to me that Hyundai always comes up the beneficiary.

I am Neeraj **. On 31st Dec 2018 I purchased a brand new Hyundai Verna car with 3 years of insurance including bumper to bumper insurance. My car number is **. I have purchased this car because of brand name, reliability and trust in Hyundai Cars. Last year on June 2019 I took the insurance claim because I had a minor accident with my car. I immediately sent my car to the Joshi Hyundai Agency (Chandigarh) for repairment. They changed few components i.e. driver side door, One Side mirror and re-painted the bumper (Front) and bonnet. Unfortunately, the vehicle has not been satisfactory because when I reached home, I saw the colour of bonnet and bumper (newly painted) was not matched with the entire car. Further, When I raised the complaint they accept and ask to leave the car for few more days. Though, I rely on my car for daily transportation but I have managed with them. After few days and during my next visit to Hyundai Service Centre for inspect/collect my car, I saw that the same problem was still there “colour mismatching”. I talked to them, but instead of listening and understanding me, they ignored me. That was Such a harassing moment for me. Even they denied for the bill and their comments were “We have solved your problem and there is no need to provide you the final invoice/bill. Please take this gate pass (attached for your ref.)”. After that, somehow I able to connect Company’s Concerned Person Mr. Gaurav ** (RPSH(NRO3)), He saw my car and agreed that yes, the problem is still there in color (i.e. colour mismatch problem). Then he requested me to visit the Mohali Branch Of Joshi Hyundai service centre and asked to leave my car for few days (According to him, there is no technical staff for painting of car at Chandigarh Branch). I have managed third time and left my car in agency in Jan 2020 To get the problem resoved. But, now this time i found several new problems that was unexpected. Instead of changing the colour of bumper and bonnet as required, they also changed the colour (repainted) of the left side back door and running board (left side) without my permission and moreover did not tell me, but was noticed by my own. I believe, prior information is right of customer/owner nowadays and your authorized service centres must be aware about it.Also, they break several locks (Rear Bumper) of my car. This is unbearable for a customer. Your company harrassed me several times along with unsatisfactory services which is against a consumer rights. After that I manage to contact Mr Manoj ** (National Customer Relation Head) over telephonic conversation and requested him to get my car done from some professional service center as Joshi Hyundai staff and Mr. Gaurav ** were unable to satisfied me. He assured me of problem redressal this time and requested personally to leave my car again to Joshi Hyundai Mohali Branch. As I had bad experience with Joshi Hyundai number of times, I requested him (Mr Manoj **) again to get it done from some other service center. But with assurance he requested me again to leave the car, I left my car 4th time at Joshi Hyundai Mohali Branch on 05 May 2020. This time they repainted only running board (left side) and replaced rear bumper (Whose locks were broken by them last time) and refused to repaint the mismatched parts. This was extreme now. Then on complaint, they (Mr Nittin **) have again requested for the car for repainting dated on 21st Jun 2020 but because of the lot of harassment, I did not visit. In last one and half year, I drive my car around 15000 Kms and it seems that this is 8-10 year old vehicle because of this colour issue. Either they don’t have the high quality paint facility or they get it one from 3rd party/vendor. You can see the paint quality and welding spots in attached pictures (for new painted doors).Hyundai is second largest manufacturer in Automobile sector after Maruti Suzuki in India. I have long been a customer of Hyundai Cars and considered that Hyundai is a high quality brand. But, I am damn sure that this kind of attitude/negligence will definitely destroy the biake my car back and refund my valuable money along with interest as I am not willing to regain anymore mental, financial and physical harassment.Neeraj

I want to share my bad experience with Freehold Hyundai. I wanted to buy a Sonata. When I contacted them, their salesman Frank quoted a figure which was as per our budget, so we decided to visit them. Antony was the salesman who attended us. I must say he was a good salesman. But when it came to quoting the final figures, he again and again went to his manager Pete **. The figures which they quoted were much higher than what they had initially quoted and we were surprised to hear them. I dont know why they called us to waste our time when we had clearly told them our budget in the beginning. Finally, Pete ** called me inside his cabin (Antony asked my wife to stay out). Pete was such a rude sales manager. I really pity people who hired him. He cracked some jokes, which were personal, and I didnt like them at all. I dont know how he could speak in such a manner to his customers. Very rude, ill-mannered and a guy with attitude problem. He doesnt deserve to be a manager at all. His customer handling is so poor that I dont know how he is running this dealership. In my life, I have never met such an ill-mannered sales manager! There was another salesman in Petes cabin, who was laughing on all this. I felt so insulted. These people are so unprofessional. Pete didnt even offer me a seat to sit. He was sitting in front of me as if he was my boss. I think a roadside vendor has better sales/customer handling skills than Pete. When I showed my displeasure on all this, Pete tried to make the deal. How could he even think I will ever do business with him or recommend his dealership to anyone? This guy is so insensitive about his customers. I am giving this rating for poor customer handling, wrong price commitments and for the insult I faced there.

I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happie
I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happier with the car the first 18 months of ownership. However, in June of 2015, my cars hybrid alert came on when I put the car in park and the car locked up and would not turn back on again. I had to have it towed to Sacramento Hyundai where they kept it for the day, then gave it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Two days later it did this again and again, would not turn on. I had it towed to Roseville Hyundai because this was where the hybrid specialist worked. In the end, I ended up bringing my car to Roseville Hyundai (about 40 minutes from my house) a total of 4 times. Each time they fixed something on the car but the car was never actually fixed and would break down again 1-2 days after I got it back.During this whole time wasting process I was always put in awful stock rental cars after having to wait at numerous car rental shops after I was told by the dealership that there would be a rental waiting for me (there never was). I have had my car sitting at the dealership, untouched for over a week with no contact by the dealer while they decided (or corporate decided) what they wanted to do next. I was told time and time again that this was a one in a million occurrence, that these things NEVER happen with new Sonatas. After doing my own research on other new Hyundai owners experiences, I beg to differ. It seems like these things happen quite often with the newer Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai Motors eventually decided to stop allowing the dealership to spend any more money trying to fix my car (the dealership was not allowed to swap in a new transmission or engine). So they ended up just turning off the alerts - they didnt tell me they did this but it is quite obvious this is what happened since the car is running the exact same, power and acceleration issues, just no more hybrid alerts. Kinda suspicious. So once I got the car back this final time I began dealing with corporate which has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I talked to a live person probably a total of about 4-5 minutes throughout the whole lemon law process that began at the end of August.Leaving a message with Hyundai would result in a call back in 5-7 days. It took the representative over a week just to ASK the dealership for my repair records. And then a couple more weeks before she sent everything in to corporate while I was calling her constantly trying to get updates on the whole process, only to be ignored.. They have a certain number of days that they legally need to respond to lemon law cases and they definitely push this to the very last day. I figured driving a dangerous car that was now having issues getting onto freeways and accelerating from traffic lights would get them to respond to my concerns quicker, but they could have cared less. Once I finally received a letter. I was offered a buyback, not a replacement since this is not required by law.Hyundai only does exactly what is required of them by law (quite often they dont even go this far I have heard) so that they are able to pay as little as possible for the broken car that they sold you. This awful experience that I have been going through should require some sort of human response from the company instead of just 1 actual semi-informative voicemail from the representative (just saying that they would not be giving me a replacement vehicle) and ONE letter from corporate. This letter with the buyback deal had no actual numbers. It just stated that I would be charged some mileage fee for each mile I drove the car (that I had to research myself to figure out since no one from Hyundai actually talked to me). That they would not be reimbursing me for any money that I put into the car... So too bad you loved this car and did everything you could to keep it running properly and looking beautiful... And that I would be charged for any damage to the car. Then they asked me to sign and send it back to complete the process. How do I know what they consider damage and how much theyll charge for it? On top of that, all the extra money I put into the car would be ignored - tinted windows, 4 brand new tires I purchased just a week before all this went down, the $400 maintenance at 35K that Hyundai forces you to do so this warranty can be upheld, etc. On a more personal note Hyundai could care less about the time, energy, and work time lost in this whole process to drive the broken car back and forth to Roseville (when it was driveable) and all the time spent at rental car businesses... The mileage penalty being forced on me causes the $350/month payment to basically go towards borrowing this car for 2 years when I had wrongly assumed that I was in the process of purchasing the car and that my money was going somewhere, and now I am left with nothing. The buyback that Hyundai offered would not even cover my down payment I had made on the car, let alone the monthly payments for the past 2 years. In the end, I would love for this company to just fix my car or give me a car that actually works. My family and I have owned Hyundais for years and have loved the cars and always said nothing but good things about them. But this is our first new Hyundai and we have never had to deal with the actual company until I unfortunately purchased a lemon. The Hyundai corporation is horrid to deal with and does not care about the satisfaction of its loyal customers. I should have researched the reputation of this company before purchasing the car but naively I had faith in Americas Best Warranty to take care of me if anything should go wrong. Reading other peoples reviews on this company and how they have dealt with consumers and their warranty it seems as if this happens quite frequently. Hyundai will do everything in their power to get out of honoring their warranty and if state laws force them to do something, they will be sure to do as little as possible no matter what their loyal customer has gone through. This will definitely be the last Hyundai I ever waste my money on.

Back in February, we traded our 2011 Hyundai for a 2012 Hyundai. We couldnt stop the final payment before it was sent and were told not to worry because they would just turn around and refund it.” A dozen calls and 37 days later, we finally received our refund. Then, our dealership messed up the paperwork for the refund of our extended warranty and it was sent to Hyundai Motor Finance. Now, three weeks later, we are still fighting to get that money returned to us. To top it off, because the credit for the car payment sat in the account so long and they didnt close the account because of the credit, they charged us account fees which they are now calling me at my office to collect. So they owe me $2000, which they dont seem to care about. But they are harassing me at work for $23.00, which I am told during every phone call is a mistake. We have the 2012 financed through them and have never been late. We even pay a little extra every month. In return, this is the treatment they give their customers. I have never seen such horrible service, apathy, lack of concern, and blatant disregard for the customer. I am disgusted with Hyundai Finance and will never deal with them again, even if this means this is the last Hyundai I ever purchase.

I had my 2007 Hyundai in to my local mechanic for an oil change and they told me I needed a battery. I decided to have my husband change it in order to save some money. I turned out that the battery was okay but the terminal was not closing all the way. We went to several auto parts stores but none had the correct part. We contacted our local Hyundai dealer and they said that part was not stocked or sold. We would have to buy a wiring harness that connected the battery terminal to the battery post and then to the starter at a cost of $380. I said that was absurd and would not buy it. Luckily, my husband is handy and was able to fit a terminal with some sort of connection to the wiring harness. Because my husband had to put a non-Hyundai part on there is no cover on the positive battery terminal, I dont know if this could be dangerous or not; if you are expecting the protection of the cover, its not there.

I have been working with Hyundai on my Trip Reimbursement Case #**, and I have been appalled by how poorly the customer service is. This happened in Jan, I submitted, it was LOST internally by Hyundai, so I resubmitted in May, and I am now sitting August 2nd and still have not heard anything about it. Hyundai is a multi-billion dollar corporation, and they cannot reimburse me for the ~$750 worth of incurred expenses from a warranty claim they did for a $35,000 car? This is insane, I will never buy from Hyundai again, and I cannot believe they are still a company with this sub-par customer service. So even though I have called dozens of times, and sent countless emails, I assume Hyundai is going to give me the same response as before, NO RESPONSE. Do not shop with Hyundai unless you want to be thoroughly disappointed.

I love my Hyundai Tucson. The interior is as nice as a luxury car interior (comparing to a Lexus and Subaru of comparable size). It is easy to get into and out of but has more ground clearance than a sedan. It is easy to handle in most driving conditions. It sits on an Elantra chassis so in tight curves or with wind, I recommend slowing down. It is Hyundais middle sized SUV, the Kona is smaller and the Santa Fe larger and I believe there is a new SUV that is even larger. This is the perfect size for a single person or a couple, it is probably to small for school age kids in the back. The sound system is very good and the limited comes with heated seats and other nice options.

I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata into the Hyundai dealer service center with a problem on my auxiliary plug. I used a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable to connect my iPod to the car. After a couple of months, the cable had bad connection. Due to that problem, I bought a new auxiliary cable but the cable wasnt the problem. The problem was the 3.5 mm jack that is on the car. I brought my car to the dealer but they said they couldnt do anything since I didnt use OEM Hyundai auxiliary cable even though they knew the problem. So I bought the OEM cable, but after few months it didnt work well. So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. Also, it is very obvious that their staff would say there is no problem. I am highly unsatisfied from this experience. I cannot enjoy my music in my brand new Hyundai Sonata. I am uncertain if this review is specific to Hyundai Blue Link or Hyundai overall. I am writing this review for solely my experience with Hyundai Blue Link. When I originally went to lease my 2016 Elantra GT I want a remote start. The salesman who was also the sales manager informed me that I couldnt get a remote start installed because the ignition was a push button ignition, but he had a better alternative, HBL. He told me that it was an app on my phone and I could remote start my car from my phone. He said it was $99/yr, which was a better deal because the remote start was $400, and this was a 3 year lease, and he was giving me the first 3 months free! When my first renewal came my credit card was charged $198. I immediately called HBL and explained that my credit card was double charged. The representative explained that my card was not doubled charged; there is a base package called connect to care that all HBL subscribers have to have that is $99/yr, and the remote package is an additional $99/yr. I explained to the representative that, that wasnt how HBL was explained to me; I was not informed about any connect to care package that was mandatory. To compensate me for the confusion the representative extended my services by 3 months for free, but explained from here on out if I wished to have the remote package that I would also have to pay for the base package as well. One year later, I received a notification from HBL that my credit card was going to be charged a renewal fee of $99 on a given date. I called HBL and explained to them that they are 3 months premature in charging my card. They explained that only my connect to care package was extended for the 3 months, not the remote package. I explained that it was my understanding that both packages were extended, and that I didnt want the connect to care, but they were forcing me to have it if I wanted the remote package. I do not recall at this time the entire conversation I had with the representative but towards the end I told the person on the other end that I too was recording the conversation (I lied, I wasnt recording the conversation), and they replied that I didnt have the authority to record the conversation and hung up on me. I immediately called back and long story short, I told the representative that answered my call this time that HBL did not have my authorization to charge my card. The person responded with, I dont need your authorization to charge your card, and it will be charged in the amount of $99 on this date. I ended the conversation with the call center. I called Hyundai motors, and demanded to speak to someone in management. The representative said she didnt have a way of transferring me to someone in management, but she gave me an email to a manager with HBL. Turns out the person she referred me to was the head person over all of HBL. This manager, or VP, I do not recall her title other than she was the head person over HBL, completely sided with me. She pulled my credit card info from the HBL system, and gave me free services through the end of my lease. I believe she also may have fired some individuals but I dont know for sure. Fast forward to current times, I turned my lease in 2-3 weeks early and purchased a brand new Hyundai. I called HBL to transfer my remaining 2 weeks to the new vehicle, but they said that wasnt possible. I have not continued my subscription with HBL with my new vehicle, solely because I feel $198/yr just for remote start is a rip off. I would have given HBL 1 star, but because I was compensated for my troubles I felt they deserved the extra star.

They keep it for weeks without a loaner car!! I wrote Hyundai and told them my problem, they were complete no help. I had no problems with my last car. This car has been a complete nightmare. I am leasing a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. My lease is coming up in 4 months... Ive never had an issue with my car and its the second vehicle that I lease from Hyundai. I am writing this because I am not very impressed with the service that I am receiving from the company. Let me start by telling you what happened. A few days ago I was driving down the hwy and my car just stalled. All the lights went on on the dash and the RPMs went to zero. I was lucky that it wasnt a busy hwy and was able to coast and pull over safely along the side of the snowplowed road. I got my car towed to the dealership and they are trying to say that it might be my fault and that I will be responsible for the cost! Its been there 3 days already and They have not told me whats going on. I am without a vehicle and am stressed out waiting to see how much it will cost me for repairs. I do not believe that I should pay for this because I had no warning light come on to tell me that the oil was low or if I had an engine problem. I believe that it is a mechanical problem because there certainly is an alert that appears when the car is low on windshield washer fluid and the same should be for the oil level!! I just want Hyundai to come clean and take responsibility for the engine malfunction!! And to have better customer service by keeping their customers informed!!I will let you all know the outcome.

This car model (Tucson) was very quiet and nice unlike the previous car that I drove, it was nice too but engine was getting loud because of age. I like how you can control a/c on back seat. This car model was also cheaper than the other model I wanted to buy but I liked the color and the size as well as the quality and things that came with the car such as leather seat and built in navigation. But it was a bit dirty since it has been sitting at dealer for over a year.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon in March of 2011. It currently has 60,312 miles. Whenever the car needs to shift into 2nd gear, it jumps. I have been told that I need a new transmission. Being that I am not the first owner of this car, the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Being that the mileage is so low, I feel that the transmission should have not gone out so soon. This is my first purchase of a Hyundai. Ill never buy one again. Next time Ill stick with Subaru.

Hyundai is an unethical company. I own a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. At 52,000 miles, we need a new transmission! What kind of car needs a new transmission at 52,000 miles?? The mechanic at the dealership even told us that we may have received a faulty transmission because they shouldnt need replacing at 52,000 miles. Our warranty was 2 months out of warranty so the dealership was optimistic that headquarters would still pay for the transmission and service because our car had such low miles and had so recently gone out of warranty. After the Hyundai dealership went back and forth with Hyundai headquarters, they told us they were unwilling to cover the cost of the transmission! The customer service was absolutely horrible. I have never had such a bad experience with a car company in my life. Hyundai should treat people more ethically instead of trying to squeeze me of every drop of money out of consumers they can.

I leased a 2015 Hyundai Veloster back in July and since then I had nothing but bad experience with this car. Currently it sitting at 5897 miles and already I had to do an alignment. At 2157 miles I caught a bubble on the right front tire and went back to the dealer where I leased it. Right away they told me its my fault. The warranty I was talked into getting at time of purchase was not valid for that work. I was super upset. I know what the man said real clearly. Wow talking about standing behind your product which these people DONT do. Now currently Im having back camera and connecting problem with Bluetooth. I been wanting since September about feeling unsafe about the handling while driving to come with an agreement to trade the car for another Hyundai. I will NOT GET ANOTHER HYUNDAI EVER. I cant believe I have to drive this car like a 80-year-old woman. It take bumps hard. I have to worry about not getting another bubble on the tires. Also when driving over 40 miles an hour car tends to fishtail. Oh well I guess for the next two and a half years I will be making a long service record of this car and well be bringing it into the dealership for every little noise that comes out of it. I wouldnt mind spending a little time at the dealership with free Wi-Fi and free donuts and free coffee. Hyundai is forcing me to stay a car that I feel unsafe with so I will be doing my part and giving them a LONG CARFAX service record. Lets see how they will sell the car after me.

It appears that were all having the same issues with Hyundais Consumer Affairs department, the local service departments, and worst of all, voiding the consumer warranties at their convenience. Its time to stand up and voice your concerns to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Please make sure you file your complaint with the FTC too by visiting their websites. They need to know about how Hyundai is treating their customers and lying to the public. Please note, I have tried to contact the people at the corporate office and they will only forward your concerns back to consumer affairs. The same people who dont care to resolve your complaint. Go to the FTC website and file your complaint there too!

2013 Elantra GT - Defective CONTACT ASSEMBLY-CLOCK-SPRING Replacement Part
2013 Elantra GT - Defective CONTACT ASSEMBLY-CLOCK-SPRING Replacement Part # 93490-1W120. This is a BIGGIE! This item is called a clock-spring and is poorly designed and poorly manufactured and WILL fail at any given time. Its failure can be either constant or intermittent. You can start the car and all the idiot lights go out as designed, then turn the steering wheel in any direction and two things occur: 1. It illuminates the small SRS idiot light on the dash and, 2. Completely DISABLES your SRS system which means NO AIRBAG protection or any other protection on the SRS circuit! This puts you and your family at risk of death or serious injury should the device fail.Hyundai has several other campaigns in regards to this clock-spring HOWEVER not all models and VINs are covered despite the continuing failure of these devices such as mine. Hyundai will not cover this CRITICAL SAFETY device and you must pay all parts and labor to bring your 4 year old car back to being a safe vehicle as originally purchased. John at Hyundai Corporate attempted to get my repair covered but failed...Hyundai simply does not care about your safety or mine unless they are forced by the government. Look at how they tried to overstate MPG of vehicles...I STILL get money from them for lying to me about their gas mileage on this vehicle! All this is verifiable, just Google and read the number of complaints! Why should they not be held accountable for their poor choices and decisions when we hold other manufacturers such as Airbag mfrs., baby furniture mfrs, dresser furniture, other car mfrs. accountable. My repair was $271.84 + tax but instead Hyundai opted for a NHTSA complaint, several bad reviews, a visit to the FTC website for a complaint, and a campaign of my own to inform the public of this shameful company and their below standard engineering and manufacturing. They designed a CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM with a HIGH FAILURE PART with an original warranty of 60K miles that puts your life in danger...even Takata didnt get away with that at ANY MILEAGE! AND...their replacement part, OEM replacement part, only good for 12 months or 12,000 miles! Even THEY dont trust the part. TERRIBLE design!

I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Limited in August 2017. Driving to work on the highway the panoramic glass roof exploded. Confused me so much because it was 6:45am, no one was around me, sunny day, no trucks in front of me or anything. (All this is provable as I have dash cam video of the front and rear of the car). Sounded like a shotgun. For starters, thankfully my 2 year old son and my wife were not in the car as the backseat was full of glass. I managed to not lose control of the vehicle and managed to exit the highway and pull into a gas station. I phoned roadside assistance and got towed to the dealer. While in the tow truck and still confused I began searching online if this was a known issue and lo and behold Hyundai is VERY well known for this and is #1 in exploding roofs here in Canada and the United States. After getting the vehicle to the dealer and getting home to wash glass out of my head, the next morning I receive a call from the manager at the dealer advising me that Hyundai Canada will NOT be fixing this under warranty even though the manager at Maple Hyundai acknowledged that he has seen articles pertaining to this happening to others in the past. The fact that I have dash cam footage means nothing also. Upon purchasing the vehicle I even purchased their fancy extended warranty. That also means nothing not that I even needed it because I am still technically under the 3 year whatever regular one. Hyundai Canada turned the warranty job down saying that it must have been cracked from before which I am not sure how they can make that type of assumption. First of all, as I said the front and rear cameras both show the exact same time and date just different views. You see from the rear camera a blast of glass fly. The front camera shows absolutely nothing fly at the vehicle. Secondly, tempered glass does not crack it explodes. Thirdly even if for whatever magical reason it was cracked from the night before, why would it wait until 29km (18 miles) into my drive to burst while driving on a smooth road. These vehicles are NOT SAFE and I urge any especially families to look at alternate manufacturers who actually care about the safety of their passengers.

Their policy is not honest and is very tricky and trying to avoid fulfilling the offers they make. We are not easily fooled but they tried very hard to say one thing and do another. I leased a 2017 Hyundai Azera, and because I liked the car so much I purchased it in 2020 at the end of the lease with only 19,200 miles on it. On 9/9/20, my car would not start. I brought it to the dealership and was told the battery was fine. A week later, my car would not start and I brought it back to service. A week later and for the third week in a row, my car would not start. The car was in service for five days. 2.5 weeks later, my car would not start. It was in service for four weeks. Two days after picking the car up from service, the car would not start. It went back to service for the fifth time in four months, and was there for 45 days. Five days after picking the car up from service, the car would not start. It is now back in service for the SIXTH TIME in five months. It has been in service for almost 90 days and counting since September, with no answers in sight. I am working with Hyundai Consumer Affairs, but am not getting any answers or help - all while still paying for the car that has not even been in my possession for three months. When I have had it, I had to jump start it 100% of the time I needed to go somewhere.

My 87 year old Mother took her 2010 Hyundai Elantra to her local dealer who has always done her oil changes. She received a call from the service manager telling her the underside of her car was so severely rusted that repairs would be so expensive. He suggested she get rid of her car stating that it would be dangerous for her to drive it. Her car has 19,000 miles and is two months away from being paid off after a five year auto loan. The car had last been brought in for an oil change in December 2014. No one ever mentioned any concerns about rust only five months ago! So, apparently all of this rust happened in a period of four months! I went with her to pick the car up. We are scheduling a second opinion for this week. Something is just not right. To be continued.........

I purchased my 3rd brand new Hyundai in 2005. I have always chose Hyundai models as I believed in your vow of Americas best warranty although I had always paid them off and traded them in around 60,000 miles. I did make a decision to hold onto my most recent Hyundai which is a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon. I am a extremely anal when it comes to maintenance, to the point friends and family mock me. No one but the dealership has EVER been under the hood of any of my Hyundais. I have even taken it to them to have air put in the tires. I never missed a maintenance and am always at the dealership within the 3 months - 3,000 miles with checkbook in hand asking them to do whatever is necessary to maintain the warranty, value of the vehicle and to keep my car running. I just had the 2005 Tiburon in for scheduled service in April 2014. As always, this service department who had handled all my cars over the past 20 years said the car was in impeccable shape. Memorial day 2014 (a little over a month later), while driving I turned on the air. Within 5 minutes it started to jerk and sputter, smoke started to rise from under the hood and all my dashboard lights came on. I pulled over and called a tow. The next day I was in shock when the service manager called and said the engine had blew. I was not concerned with the cost as it was still 20,000 miles and 1 year under warranty. When I asked how this had happened, he said the car had a small leak in the radiator which caused it to overheat. I begged for answers on how this could happen. How I would have known there was a slow leak and if there was light that should have warned me and how the engine could have blown from overheating. Nothing Greg from Hyundai City said made sense to me on how I could have done anything different to prevent this. All he could say was because I had driven the car for an extended period of time, while overheating it would not be covered under the warranty and the cost would be about $3,000. There was literally minutes between realizing something was wrong and when the car died on the side of the road. There was not a single sign before this moment that would have led me to know something was wrong. He also went on to explain because the radiator wasnt covered and this is what ultimately caused the damage, they could not possibly cover the cost. I have no words. I have sent countless customers to this dealership as well as given Hyundai 60,000 plus dollars worth of business. They know how meticulous I am about service and have all my records. The car had 80,000 miles on it and just a month earlier was told the car was in perfect condition and now it sits with a blown engine without any fault of my own. I could not have done anything more to maintain the car or meet the warranty criteria. I did file a case with Hyundai but based on what Greg has told them I received an email stating that they will not honor the warranty. I am heartbroken and have no idea why the company I was so faithful to would treat me, let alone any customer this way. I have no words. I had no doubt that Hyundai would do the right thing but I am growing less and less faithful. I have no idea how this happened to my car and the company who can make this right refuses to. I know losing one customer is not a big deal to you but at the end of the day your integrity is all you have whether it be with one person or millions. It is all the same.

I purchased my third Sonata, a 2012, just four months ago. I purchased my first two from a dealership near my home in Houston but my third Sonata was purchased in Baytown, Tx. After only a little over 4000 miles, this Sonata left me stranded in Austin, Texas with what I was told was a failed wheel bearing. Fortunately, the wheel did not come off and I made it to a safe area. I felt that being a loyal Hyundai consumer, that Hyundai would help to address this (now third issue) with my car. The car had to go in for service for a back brake plate rubbing against the rotor the first week of ownership.I am having great difficulty getting anyone at Hyundai or the dealership to acknowledge that this Sonata has inherent issues that would warrant replacement of the vehicle. I no longer have confidence or feel safe driving this car. I even question as to whether I might have been sold a car that was unsafe to drive. When the car was towed to the dealership in Austin for repair, they first told me that they did not know for certain what was wrong with it - only that it was something serious and I would be encouraged not to drive it even across town. Many assurances of help and complete satisfaction - and none followed though.

My original fuel pump went out at 80,000+ miles (2011), so I replaced it with a Hyundai part. Three months later at 86,000 miles, this Hyundai fuel pump went out. Now, 20 months later, the same issue, fuel pump #3. No warranty and $417 part out again. Hyundai dealers know this is an issue. It is well published I found out on the internet after my first encounter. Hyundai needs to take care of this issue if they wish to continue to sell vehicles in the US. Hyundai is using refurbished parts and refuse to admit there is an issue. I was told today they do not warrant their parts for more than 12 months. Now, I can no longer utilize the dealership of my vehicle because of faulty parts. Tempe Hyundai service manager would not help in any way. My next recourse is to contact the Hyundais General Manager. I feel everyone should know and stop buying their products if they cant build dependable parts and vehicles.

I have purchased 3 new Hyundais in the last 4 1/2 years. I would consider myself a loyal customer. On 8/19/18 I stopped at Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala, FL. to purchase my 4th Hyundai in 4 1/2 years. I had with me the internet information on the SUV I was going to purchase. Listed below plus the window sticker posted on their website.Detailed Pricing. Stock # : Y5005 / VIN : KM8J33A21JU683376. $30,800MSRP. $1,000Savings. $29,800 No-Haggle Price. $2,500 Hyundai Offer. $500 Hyundai Offer. $26,800 Final Price. $500 Conditional Offer. $500 Conditional Offer. $400 Conditional Offer. When I sat down to purchase the SUV I was told the price was just a little over $35,800 because of the added dealer extras. This information wasnt listed on the website (as you can see above). I came to the dealership to negotiate the price listed above $26,800 and was told I could purchase the SUV for $32,800 plus tags, taxes and a dealer prep fee of $899.00. As you can see above $26,800 Final Price. Only a fool would fall for this scam!I ask why they didnt list the $35,800 on the internet and their answer was we dont have to. This is totally dishonest! In doing some more research on the SUV and cars on the Jenkins lot I discovered most if not all are priced this way and are not listed on the website. They are all similar to the deal I was served up. The bottom line is that the website price is a scam to get you to the dealership so they can rip you off. This was a horrible experience. At previous dealerships when purchasing a Hyundai I was treated with respect and they negotiated in GOOD FAITH! You should be ashamed for having a crooked dealerships like this one!

I recently took my car into Tuscaloosa Hyundai which is nearing the 60,000-mile original warranty and discovered that the new car warranties offered are limited. Did you know that the A/C system is only covered for one year? All of the systems in the car have different warranties so the 60,000-mile thing is just a scam. At 60,000 miles you are required to have certain services done for your so called million mile warranty to be valid and it is very costly. I assume that as you progress your mileage there will be more costly charges to continue your warranty. I just wanted to make the public aware that you are not getting a full bumper to bumper warranty. Whoever heard of a 1-year warranty on an A/C? On some systems, you have to pay for the parts while you are under warranty. This was never disclosed to me during my purchase of this vehicle. You can look the new car warranty up online and it says Limited new car warranty. I thought a warranty was a full warranty but this is not the case. My suggestion is buy a car with a real warranty, not a Hyundai.

Dont get me wrong, Ive had my Hyundai Sonata for 3 years now and Ive been a loyal customer, having a Sonata for 3 more years prior to that (6 years total). With the end of my lease, I drove my car up to the dealership I had got it from and they refused to take it, saying that they didnt have anymore space in their lot. They referred me to a different dealership who I then called and told me that they only take cars back that have been leased from them originally. They told me that my original dealership should be obligated to take it back. So we called my original dealership again and they again said they could not take it because of space issues. We then proceeded to call the headquarters, boggled at how Hyundai wouldnt take in their own vehicle... What are we supposed to do? We cant keep it cause its illegal, but no one wants to take it? Im baffled. Then I proceeded to call customer service to talk about my lease end deals and the woman was completely rude for no reason whatsoever. I was not notified of a payment that hadnt gone through and could not make debut payments because you cant do so online (which is so archaic that your only online option is to pay by check). As a once loyal customer of Hyundai, I dont think Ill ever return to this unprofessional mess.
