My experience with Hyundai has been one I wouldnt have expected from a reputable company. I was told I couldnt get any assistance with a car I purchased from them in April 2017. Three months after purchasing the car it was in the shop for a check engine issue. I took the car back to see why it was on when I had just purchased the vehicle. Since then my car has been in the shop a total of 8 times to date. I will continue to expose the misrepresentation Hyundai provides to the public on a daily basis with their commercials and other advertisement. As a consumer we all deserve to have the products we pay for to be operable and in good condition. Nelson a representative of Hyundai informed me I would not have any further resolution if I spoke with a manager because they would only listen to him in regards to my complaint directly. I feel every time someone drives a Hyundai vehicle their lives are in jeopardy due to the negligence on production. My car has been in the shop now for over two months to replace an engine that has been replaced for the second time in a year. I can assure you I will never recommend Hyundai products again to anyone. Do not purchase any Hyundai vehicles no matter what they offer you!!!

It seems like a minor problem but the lifters on the back of my 2006 Elantra Hatchback failed just after the warranty expired. To have these replaced at the dealer would cost about $200. I thought they would hold when fully extended but the other day the hatch smacked me on the back of the head when I was looking down into the back of the car.

Our second & last Hyundai. Car hesitates & bucks very bad from a full stop. Fuel gage not accurate at all. According to brochure car has a 16.4 gallon fuel tank, but when you go to fill it only takes about 9-10 gallons after low fuel indicator reads 30 miles or so to empty. Took car to Obrien Hyundai of Fort Myers shortly after purchase & given a runaround about problem. Told by service writer that there was no code displayed.Talked to 2 independent mechanics who both said it sounds like the fuel pick up or sending unit is either bad or loose in fuel tank. Filled out complaint form with Hyundai USA, called back a week later & was told someone would contact me. No one ever contacted me. After another 2 weeks called Hyundai & was told issue was not escalated because problem did not sound serious enough. Finally contacted Hyundai USA customer service who agreed to escalate case.

Hyundai has sold cars knowingly and not disclosing a defective paint issue. These cars have paint that actually peels right off the body of the car. When Hyundai is contacted they want to pass it off as weather. They know that this defect occurred during the painting process. Please join me in a class action lawsuit forcing Hyundai to recall and be fully responsible for this defect. Please contact the Attorney General in your state and file a complaint. Thank you.

Hyundai Accent GLS is reliable and gets good gas mileage. Accelerates quickly and smoothly. Came with a 100k mile warranty. Smooth driving experience and right turning radius. Easy to maneuver. I like that it has bluetooth, CD player, ac, spacious for a car its size, power locks and windows and comfortable seating. But the bumper is very low and catches on parking spot barriers easily. Power lock should be on trunk too. Heated seats would be nice, as the Elantra has them.

I purchased my 3rd brand new Hyundai in 2005. I have always chose Hyundai models as I believed in your vow of Americas best warranty although I had always paid them off and traded them in around 60,000 miles. I did make a decision to hold onto my most recent Hyundai which is a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon. I am a extremely anal when it comes to maintenance, to the point friends and family mock me. No one but the dealership has EVER been under the hood of any of my Hyundais. I have even taken it to them to have air put in the tires. I never missed a maintenance and am always at the dealership within the 3 months - 3,000 miles with checkbook in hand asking them to do whatever is necessary to maintain the warranty, value of the vehicle and to keep my car running. I just had the 2005 Tiburon in for scheduled service in April 2014. As always, this service department who had handled all my cars over the past 20 years said the car was in impeccable shape. Memorial day 2014 (a little over a month later), while driving I turned on the air. Within 5 minutes it started to jerk and sputter, smoke started to rise from under the hood and all my dashboard lights came on. I pulled over and called a tow. The next day I was in shock when the service manager called and said the engine had blew. I was not concerned with the cost as it was still 20,000 miles and 1 year under warranty. When I asked how this had happened, he said the car had a small leak in the radiator which caused it to overheat. I begged for answers on how this could happen. How I would have known there was a slow leak and if there was light that should have warned me and how the engine could have blown from overheating. Nothing Greg from Hyundai City said made sense to me on how I could have done anything different to prevent this. All he could say was because I had driven the car for an extended period of time, while overheating it would not be covered under the warranty and the cost would be about $3,000. There was literally minutes between realizing something was wrong and when the car died on the side of the road. There was not a single sign before this moment that would have led me to know something was wrong. He also went on to explain because the radiator wasnt covered and this is what ultimately caused the damage, they could not possibly cover the cost. I have no words. I have sent countless customers to this dealership as well as given Hyundai 60,000 plus dollars worth of business. They know how meticulous I am about service and have all my records. The car had 80,000 miles on it and just a month earlier was told the car was in perfect condition and now it sits with a blown engine without any fault of my own. I could not have done anything more to maintain the car or meet the warranty criteria. I did file a case with Hyundai but based on what Greg has told them I received an email stating that they will not honor the warranty. I am heartbroken and have no idea why the company I was so faithful to would treat me, let alone any customer this way. I have no words. I had no doubt that Hyundai would do the right thing but I am growing less and less faithful. I have no idea how this happened to my car and the company who can make this right refuses to. I know losing one customer is not a big deal to you but at the end of the day your integrity is all you have whether it be with one person or millions. It is all the same.

I purchased a new 2019 Hyundai Accent in November 2019 at Genesis of Cherry
I purchased a new 2019 Hyundai Accent in November 2019 at Genesis of Cherry Hill in Marlton, NJ. This car is a piece of junk, defective, and unsafe to drive. Hyundai provides a car buyer with a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty; not because they stand by the quality and workmanship of the vehicle, but because youll need the warranty to have the car repaired. My car has been in the Hyundai Service Shop for the same problem four times since I purchased the car. The car constantly pulls to the left. You must hold the steering wheel for dear life; otherwise, you could have an accident. On 1/2/20 Hyundai Service adjusted the steering wheel sensor. Within 8 days, 1/10/20 I had to return the car to Hyundai Service for the same problem. Now, Hyundai Service determines the car needs a 4 wheel alignment and another steering sensor adjustment. On 5/19/20 the car was returned again to Hyundai Service for the same problem and the technician determines the rear solid beam axle and left and right front lower control arms must be replaced. Hyundai Service had to order these parts, so now a 4th trip to Hyundai Service was required to fix the pulling to the left. I dropped my car off on 6/1/20 and went to pick the car up on 6/10/20. I test drove the car in the presence of 2 Hyundai technicians and the service manager. After all this work done on the vehicle my car still pulls to the left. Hyundai Service had the audacity to state that all Hyundai Accents may perform the same way, really. Hyundai also indicated that the car passed their testing protocol for driving 40 mph and was deemed as a fixed vehicle in their eyes. However, on my road test the vehicle failed at 40 mph and at greater speeds. Hyundai Service has failed to address my complaint about my car and the car was left at the dealership. I have been making payments on this new car which has spent more times in the shop than on the road. Consumers should think twice on purchasing a Hyundai whether for yourself, your spouse, or child. Your safety is at risk each time you get behind the wheel of this car.

A lot of people are talking about the big lie Hyundai used to increase sales. I dont know if it came from Korea or the greedy US division came up with it, but I am very disappointed. Like some others, Im not as upset about the mileage as I am about feeling screwed. I work hard for my money and do a lot of research before I purchase a new vehicle. I owned a 2003 Sonata that made me feel they made a quality product. The 2011 Elantra was priced at $18,400 on their website, along with the $1,000 customer loyalty discount. It would be the perfect car for my 16-year-old daughter. When I got to the dealer, theyre in such demand (because of the mileage lie) I had to wait until June when the 2012s came out. Then they tacked on a $1,995 market parity adjustment and customer loyalty discount doesnt apply to the Elantra. So I paid $21,500. I feel like a sap. Every day when I go out to the driveway, I am reminded of how your company took advantage of me. When I took it in for the mileage check for the fuel debit card, I talked to the salesman about turning it in for another car. The dealer (Jenkins of Leesburg, Florida) has a Volkswagen lot next door. My daughter and I agreed to trade it in until we were told it was only worth $12,000. Wow, do I feel screwed? Will I ever buy another Hyundai? What do you think?

We loved our 2006 Hyundai up until a few months ago. The check engine light came on at slightly more than 50,000 miles so we took it in for service. It has been back 3 times to the tune of $1300 plus, somehow needed all new brakes, canister close valve replaced (supposed reason for light being on), and the check engine light is still on. The last time we took it back they said the gas cap was loose. The light stayed off for about three days then came back on again. We had four different people check the gas cap, but it stayed on. We then went out to get a new gas cap -- light is still on and the car has a ticking sound that it did not have before the service.I have called customer service three times -- they are nice, but do nothing -- sent a FedEx letter to corporate -- it was refused by their mail room -- so will now take the car to a regular mechanic who can perhaps find the problem. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI!!! They run great until a problem comes up and then the service is not there. We used the Danbury Dealership in CT, but have heard the one in Vero Beach, FL is just as bad.

I bought an Elantra 2011 in the US. During the first year, it was 3 times in service for over three months for the same problem with its electronics. Its still in service under the 5th repair attempt. I contacted a lawyer to deal with Hyundai Motors America (HMA) and request a replacement or the cash back. Hyundai is trying to do anything possible to avoid this situation. They rather spend more money in warranty claims than giving me what I paid for and deserve. We will take legal actions against HMA. I will never buy Hyundai again and make sure that anybody I know wont do it either. They ll loose.

After 76,000 miles I experienced a catastrophic engine failure in my 2011 Sonata Turbo 2.0. The Hyundai service department that the car was towed to said they did not know why this happened. After considering the warranty, it was determined that the engine would be replaced. The second motor was installed and the first time it was cranked, it was determined that the engine failed. A third engine was then installed. At about 10,000 miles on the 3rd engine, the exact same catastrophic engine failure occurred. I learned that Hyundai had previously installed a re-manufactured motor (the third engine) instead of a new long block. I am now waiting to hear if the warranty is even going to cover the 4th engine replacement.I am researching information on Texas Lemon Law to see if this would qualify; my novice experience would say YES but I am horrified to read the other experiences on this website. I would like to think Hyundai is going to try and make this right for me, but I have my doubts. To say the least, I will never purchase another Hyundai. It is disappointing because up until now, I had enjoyed the way the car drove, handled, and how efficient the eco-boost was on fuel.

Once you buy the car you are on your own with respect to the warranty. There is a poor association with the dealers and the company. The dealer will tell you the work is not covered or do poor work on the car and you have no options. The company will say it is a dealer issue and the dealer will tell you that the corporation has such strict guidelines on warranty work and you will not get anywhere. I complained and sent letters to executives and the president and they will send you back to customer service which will give you the usual routine about company policy. There is NO means of escalation. All you can do as a customer is use social media. This company has archaic concepts of customer service. This company has a long way to go with respect to customer service after you buy the car. Warranty work is very limited. Do not expect standard repairs after you purchase. I will never buy a Hyundai Car again!!!

I have tried numerous times to get a hold of somebody from Hyundai and Hyundai Consumer Affairs, but they were powerless. I am uncertain if this review is specific to Hyundai Blue Link or Hyundai overall. I am writing this review for solely my experience with Hyundai Blue Link. When I originally went to lease my 2016 Elantra GT I want a remote start. The salesman who was also the sales manager informed me that I couldnt get a remote start installed because the ignition was a push button ignition, but he had a better alternative, HBL. He told me that it was an app on my phone and I could remote start my car from my phone. He said it was $99/yr, which was a better deal because the remote start was $400, and this was a 3 year lease, and he was giving me the first 3 months free! When my first renewal came my credit card was charged $198. I immediately called HBL and explained that my credit card was double charged. The representative explained that my card was not doubled charged; there is a base package called connect to care that all HBL subscribers have to have that is $99/yr, and the remote package is an additional $99/yr. I explained to the representative that, that wasnt how HBL was explained to me; I was not informed about any connect to care package that was mandatory. To compensate me for the confusion the representative extended my services by 3 months for free, but explained from here on out if I wished to have the remote package that I would also have to pay for the base package as well. One year later, I received a notification from HBL that my credit card was going to be charged a renewal fee of $99 on a given date. I called HBL and explained to them that they are 3 months premature in charging my card. They explained that only my connect to care package was extended for the 3 months, not the remote package. I explained that it was my understanding that both packages were extended, and that I didnt want the connect to care, but they were forcing me to have it if I wanted the remote package. I do not recall at this time the entire conversation I had with the representative but towards the end I told the person on the other end that I too was recording the conversation (I lied, I wasnt recording the conversation), and they replied that I didnt have the authority to record the conversation and hung up on me. I immediately called back and long story short, I told the representative that answered my call this time that HBL did not have my authorization to charge my card. The person responded with, I dont need your authorization to charge your card, and it will be charged in the amount of $99 on this date. I ended the conversation with the call center. I called Hyundai motors, and demanded to speak to someone in management. The representative said she didnt have a way of transferring me to someone in management, but she gave me an email to a manager with HBL. Turns out the person she referred me to was the head person over all of HBL. This manager, or VP, I do not recall her title other than she was the head person over HBL, completely sided with me. She pulled my credit card info from the HBL system, and gave me free services through the end of my lease. I believe she also may have fired some individuals but I dont know for sure. Fast forward to current times, I turned my lease in 2-3 weeks early and purchased a brand new Hyundai. I called HBL to transfer my remaining 2 weeks to the new vehicle, but they said that wasnt possible. I have not continued my subscription with HBL with my new vehicle, solely because I feel $198/yr just for remote start is a rip off. I would have given HBL 1 star, but because I was compensated for my troubles I felt they deserved the extra star.

Was on our way home from a Holiday trip Jan 1,2020 when my Hyundai Santa Fe sport with 9,328 miles on it lost power outside of Athens Ga. Was fortunate to be able to be near a convenient store to pull into. Called Hyundai roadside service and they quickly sent a tow truck that took vehicle to nearby Hyundia in Athens. Also called a Uber to take us 3 senior ladies and our dog to the hotel near to dealership in Athens. Naturally since it was New Year’s Day the dealership was not open until the next day. Everything in response to incident was wonderful. Could have stayed in a nicer hotel, but choose one close to dealership. Got home to Florida a couple days later. I sent in the incident report with all the original receipts for the trip interruption reimbursement. Never heard back....called back end of Feb...said it was being worked on....just called back April 23, lady said nothing had been done with case since I called in Feb.? And she would have them (?) call me back. So moral of this story do not depend on getting any money back from Hyundia Trip reimbursement!

I need another person to turn the steering wheel because it locks so hard. I have been stranded twice where I needed help. Hyundai wont stand behind fixing it. They say it is the way it is designed. Something should be done about it. I had it in service a few times. I have a car that will not run. And when it does, it has the roughest ride of any car I ever had, especially on the freeways. I am 87 years old and between the rough ride and now this starting problem, Im very upset that I have to fight to get my money back. This should be a recall item. What do we do? Having recently moved to New York State, I am required to submit a copy of the title of my vehicle in order to transfer the registration. Sounds simple? Call Hyundai, put in the formal request and receive a copy of the title. Life should be so easy. This process started just before Thanksgiving. Here I am now on the verge of having my car impounded as the 30 day registration requirement for the state is fast approaching. Hyundai on the other hand, cant seem to get me my document after several hours of phone calls, numerous calls, trips to the registry and time out of work. The finance representatives are rude, talk over me and have lied on a number of occasions. So what am I to do? If they dont send the document, I cant register. If I dont register, I lose my car, get fined or have issues with the law. I have never, ever, in my 52 years been so frustrated, disgusted and downright angry as to how they have treated me, their lack of concern and inability to get me a document, that in todays digital world, should only take minutes, not weeks and going on months. The representatives of this company who have deliberately lied to me, put me off and disrespect me are definitely in the wrong line of work. Customer service? OMG... they dont know what the words even mean. I need help before my car is towed away and I lose my job. Why? Because I followed Hyundais process and protocol. Because I had faith in their people... because I try to do the right thing. I guess a persons word no long means a thing.

My complaint is against Hyundai USA and Rogers Hyundai for pathetic service. We purchased our car from the deceptive car dealer, Ed Napleton Kia in Elmhurst, with a deceptive warranty sale and forging my name on a document in February 2017. Our Veloster was finally put on the road at the end of February and we hear howling sounds through the roof and found rust throughout the car (engine, under driver seat, and trunk). No floods listed on CarFax through. Hmmmm. The car is supposed to still be under the manufacturers warranty and Hyundai corp rep, Czar was supposed to be helping to resolve. We took it to Rogers in the south loop and their service was horrendous and they are liars. (See Yelp!) They never investigated our concerns. They were rude and ignorant and reported back to corporate they was not told about the rust, although it was in the open ticket and verbally told. Their service center was so backlogged. They would do anything to avoid doing their jobs. After speaking back with Czar at corporate about this, their findings was they were in a mixed state to make a decision, which really mean... WE CANT SERVICE YOU without more inconveniences we are going to cause you. This car was taken to McGrath for the rust originally and now Rogers and both have dropped the ball. Now I am being told to take it to another place to run a diagnostics, leave it, and its your issue to find your way back home since Indiana toll roads are where I heard it and in Chicago, the speed limit is 45 mph and they will not have their service men get a ticket to replicate the problem from an original call back. HYUNDAI CORPORATE DOES NOT BACK THEIR ISSUES, and make many excuses to wiggle out of their warranties.

On June 14, 2014, around 7:30 p.m. I started up Sideling Hill in Maryland. My car -- 2004 Hyundai Elantra slowly started to lose speed. As I looked at the speedometer, I noticed it was declining to 40 mph and accelerating did no good. Suddenly smoke started to come out of the drivers rear section and the oil light came on. I immediately pulled over and stopped. The car did not start again. I had it towed back to my home area to a repair shop that the two driver recommended. The guy looked at it and called me that week and said the oil pump was gone and it needed a new engine. I decided to get a second opinion and had the car towed to another mechanic. He said that he ran a couple of tests and that it needed a new engine.... not sure if it does or if neither wanted to fool with it. Anyway, I decided I need my car (single, 62 years old and have elderly parents who live at a distance). The mechanic ordered a used engine in decent condition but it was a 2002 that would fit my 2004. When they got it and started to put it in, it did not fit as my engine had a variable down timer and the 2002 did not. However, when the mechanic checked the engines that would fit my car as well as checking with the salvage yard and my VIN both found that a 2002 should fit my car. However, it does not as evidently my car -- a 2004 was fitted with a 2003 engine. So no instead of having my car finished July 4th week, it is again waiting for another engine, which is extremely difficult to find. Its been going on a month; I have family in the area. My friends are all gone and/or working during the day while Im at home. So, Ive been taking public transportation (cabs) for errands, which of course is inconvenient and costly. I emailed Hyundai and of course, I received a canned reply saying the usual. Ive had the car and overall its done well but Im frustrated that they would fit cars like this and then it comes back to haunt the consumer -- me. Of course, it doesnt help that Sears did a tune-up awhile back and didnt mention that there might be something wrong with the engine. The mechanic who now has my car says that it was running on only one piston -- the tune up was done a year ago. Last year, the rep at Sears had wanted me to have my anti-freeze and steering fluid replaced and I had said not at that time. Another post I had read mentioned that he had a similar issue as a result of his anti-freeze leaking. Im wondering if Sears did not replace the lids or valves back correctly. Anyway, Ive got a major expense on my hands and am currently unemployed. But my main concern is that I cannot get out in case of an emergency. So my car is still at the mechanics going on week 4 now. And there is no sign of finding an engine that will fit the car as it is.

Last night my 2011 Sonata would not start. I tried to get a jump start but was unsuccessful. I had it towed to the Hyundai dealership where they told me I needed a new starter. It was not under warranty. I always get my scheduled maintenance done and recently had everything checked. I have about 72,000 miles on the car. I was charged $405 total. What really bothers me is that the tow truck guy told me that he picked up 3 other Sonatas this week with the same problem. This may be a recall issue. Also the passenger seat is way too low.

My husband is a full time Uber driver & his income is extremely important for us because with my part time job we can’t afford to pay the our bills. Everything was quite good since he drove Hyundai Ioniq hybrid 2017 which helped us a lot to spend less on fuel but one day suddenly the car stopped without any warning sign and the Hyundai Kitchener towed it and we were advised that it’s a recall for Hybrid system so we thought it will take a week or two but omg it has been 4 months we didn’t get our car back! Since this car was everything for us and my husband couldn’t do Uber with a rental car it has been 4 minutes we lost the income. He called thousand times for help & complain about the service to Hyundai Canada but they didn’t give a **, instead we were insulted that you should know the rules. We can’t do anything! We talked with a lawyer to sue the company for the income loss but the lawyer said these giant companies are protected by law we can’t help you. Seriously??We bought this brand new car so expensive to face this day? We are facing a lot of problems and the loss of income for four months for a middle class family is the worst thing.. I’m writing this only to inform you people be very careful before purchasing any car from Hyundai, they don’t value their customers and treat you like **.. now I’m not gonna stop this complain and will even call some tv channels to show the reality of this company because the money we bought this car that was our ten years saving and lost everything. The worst company with worst service and very bad management with bad quality cars.

Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai
Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai, Egypt, when I heard the sound of a little stone. It was moved by the tire, hitting the underneath of the car. Then when I went to a fuel station to refuel, some people told me that there was a continuous heavy gasoline discharge from the underneath of the car. Inspecting the gasoline source, I found it coming through a hole in the fuel tank caused by that little stone which had hit the underneath of the tank. Inspecting the hole, I found a linear crack intersecting with a circular hole. I had a technician dismounted the fuel tank, soldered it, and re-mounted it.Here, I want to express my deep astonishment for a hole to happen to a car fuel tank by a little stone hit, since a stone hit is a very likely thing to happen to a moving car and must logically be taken account for during the tank design. Being still subject to the possibility of the danger of solder failure, which is a very high dangerous matter, this was fuel explosive and fire hazard for my family if the problem was not detected and repaired.I am asking you to: 1. Search for the cause of such damage, so as not to happen again to other people. 2. To remount a new fuel tank for my car.

On August 2011, the dealer offered me two tires, if I purchase the Hyundai Azera 2006. The tires that the car has, is in bad shape. With this deal, I purchased the car. Two months have passed, and I still have not received my tires. I have called them numerous times, spoke with the salesman, Brandon, the manager, David, and I recently called Michael **, the customer satisfaction rep. They have not returned my call yet, and I am still waiting for my tires. My tires have no threading, that is why he offered the two tires. It is now November 2011.

I bought a used Hyundai Sonata 2011 in Oct. 2011. The previous owner had around 25,000 miles on it. I have changed the oil and also the brakes on the car since I have purchased it. It was running well with no problems (no indicator lights or warning lights ever came on), and of course there was no noise, just running as usual. I have put around 16,500 miles on it and no problem. On Dec. 22, 2012, it just wouldnt turn on, so I thought it was my battery. We asked for a boost but it still didnt work. I called Hyundai and stated they would get it towed in. That was on Dec. 24th. The tow company decided to give it a boost first to see if he could get it started but he also said the battery was too drained. I waited for a call from the mechanic and on Dec.26th, I was told he needed my authorization to change out the battery that it was no good. I asked if it was covered under my warranty with Hyundai or even the extended warranty I got. He stated no. So, I said replace it. The following day, I called for my car to get picked up and he states he needed to talk to me and said my car still didnt start and I would need a new engine due to no oil in the engine. He told me that the car looked like it had never been maintained, not once ever. I told him I did, but I didnt have the receipts to prove the oil changes. So he told the Hyundai Company that he denied the coverage due to neglect on the car. And I told him I also have an extended warranty which I told him to call. He didnt. I had too.I called a day later since he never called back to let me know anything. He stated my extended warranty wouldnt cover it either and I asked why. He stated it was because he denied the warranty due to neglect of the car. It’s funny when no lights or noises occurred without any indication that there could be something wrong, and all the extra coverage I got to avoid any problems. He states the problem could as well have been there from the previous owner and my bad luck I got stuck with it.

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe - May 2016 I call Hyundai with concerns about my airbags not deploying and I explained everything to the lady I spoke with and was told they should have deployed. I was offered a new Hyundai. I provided all information, documentation and pictures and everything to my knowledge. I receive a letter from Hyundai consumer affairs in July saying that my case would be closed if I didnt provide information asked for. So I provided it to them at the email provided on letter. David ** called me and stated that if I sent anything else to them he would no longer speak to me and close my case. I provided again which he stated he didnt receive so I called and he wouldnt return my call.I called the number in his email asking for an address to mail the pictures and documentation to and the lady I spoke with told me that she wasnt allowed to give me that information and according to the police report that I was at fault and got what I deserved which most of my phone calls I have witnesses to which was stated because I couldnt really stand or walk so it was put on speaker and held for me. Then once all information was provided I no longer heard from David, could not get in contact with. It took months of complaints and calls which was aggravating. Then I received a call after the car had been auctioned off that I told David I had retained an attorney which was untrue and that I never signed and returned the release. So he closed my case when I provided original release and proof. I never said that which Hyundai consumer affairs had in their records. Also he called me back and said according to the pictures and documentation that the car didnt perform as it should have, that Hyundai wanted to settle to provide medical bills and all cost. This was October 2016. He said it was approved for partial coverage which he would not explain meant and then said they were leaning towards full settlement and December 1 2016 was last contact I received where David asked me what would it take to make this go away and to take in consideration that my vehicle was not equipped with side airbags.Once I proved that it was by the vehicle documentation he said, Wow okay that changes everything, that he would call me in a few days, that they were going to have a settlement offer and then called back that evening saying that he needed the police report which a month before stated it wasnt needed to proceed and even tho it was provided in july 2016. After that he would no longer return my calls or emails. I finally got one response saying they got the police report and was waiting on last sheet that goes with it that they requested nothing else. Now last week he called saying my claim was denied, that the officers statement stated that I was in vehicle not restrained and specifically that side airbags deployed even tho they already got statement from my insurance company saying they didnt and will not provide this report.I supposedly signed saying my airbags deployed and I wasnt wearing a seatbelt. I have pictures proving nothing deployed. The way this was handled and how I was treated being told from day one I got what I deserved, the constant threats to close my case, the remarks that if Hyundai felt that my case was worth it they would investigate, constantly being called a liar and the excruciating pain I was and still am in just doesnt seem right at all. I expected better treatment and respect from a company.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata last year and two weeks after I got it, it started giving me problems. I started having a problem with the wires under the driver seat and the next problem was the car wouldnt start. They told me that it was a pin in the transmission. They call me the next week from the dealership and told that the car was ready. I went and got it one week later. It wouldnt start again and it wouldnt say nothing. I call the dealership and I told the salesman that it wouldnt start and he told me to call that 1800 roadside service and I did. They came to my moms house in Georgia and got it. I have been having problem with it starting and every time I tell, they would tell me that they didnt see anything wrong. My warranty is about to go out and I try to trade it at Five Star in Macon, GA but they told me that I owe too much to trade it. So I need a car because I cant pay for it and getting it fixed too. I just cant do it so Im going to have to let it go back and I was trying not to to mess up my credit but I need a dependable car. My mom & dad are sickly and I dont know when I have to get up and go and see about them. Will you please tell me how I can get the help that I need and someone ask why Hyundai didnt buy it back. They know that it is a lemon. It was still new. It had 32000 miles when I got it so will someone please help me? Please.

So I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Veloster with 34k on it. 7/12 my car started acting up losing power and I guess I would call it vibrating. The car only had 80k in miles on it. The dealership that I took the car to for service for the whole time the car ran said something about a #2 cylinder was bad and that they recommend doing the spark plugs too. I drove my car there daintily only on city streets, no highway, regular street speeds. According to the mechanic at hyundai after they did this the car would no longer hold combustion. Prior to this episode my car ran pretty good and was well maintained as well. Proper oil changes and maintenance as well however I did notice that it seemed to be going through more oil than usual and I had mentioned this to my service rep at Hyundai and he recommended that we start to monitor the oil consumption between oil changes and to start coming in every 1000 miles which I did. 7/7 I brought my car in to have the oil checked as it was just before the 1000 miles and I had plans to drive the car to little rock Arkansas so I wanted to make sure all was ok with my car as I always do before taking a trip in my car. So I barely make it back and the car started like get stuck in lower gear and make like a revving sound and but wasnt going any faster and the check engine light came on and was blinking and while blinking the car just didnt act right but if I turned the car off and then turned it back on the check engine light would stop blinking. It would stay on but it would stop blinking and the car would move. I got home and drove it directly to the dealership and left it there with them. I get back a car that had to be towed from the dealership and needs a motor. But because I am a second owner the engine is no longer under warranty and the motors have been discontinued so all I can really get is a used motor and the quote that I got from hyundai was 6500. Again all on me. Hyundai will not help in any manner. I am a handicapped individual who is now left carless and with no means to get any type of engine for the car. I said all this to say I am very very disappointed I thought I was buying a reliable car with a reliable name behind it but it doesnt seem for me that was the case. Im just screwed, paid something like 35,000 in car notes for a car that only ran for 3 yrs. If I only wanted a car to last for 3yrs I could have just gotten a cash car. I appealed to hyundai and was assigned a case manager by the name of Tyler who never talked personally to me. She would call and when I returned her call was placed right into voicemail then the only emails I got were the ones that said, We appreciate you contacting us and we will get back to you, and then when she finally responded it was to tell me that there was nothing that they were willing to do for me.

We purchased a 2012 Hyundai Accent the end of 2011 from Fairfax Hyundai in Fairfax, Virginia. Along with the car, we purchased an extended warranty that supposedly provides bumper to bumper repair peace of mind until 100,000 miles. Early in October, I called the Fairfax Hyundai service department to obtain our free oil change. I was told they could not schedule me for almost a week. It was already time for our warranty oil change, so I took the car to Just Tires in Fairfax, Virginia for an oil change. The Just Tires service tech came to me and informed me the Accents right rear brake pad was completely worn out and the rotors needed to be turned. The left rear pad still had lots of wear yet. The next day, I took the car to Fairfax Hyundai to get the car repaired under the Hyundai warranty. The Fairfax Hyundai service manager informed me that the repair was not under warranty because the right rear caliper slide had become dirty and stuck, thus causing the service problem. This was very disturbing to me since we paid an extra $1,200 for an extended warranty that was to cover everything that went wrong with the car except the radio and tires. I took the car to Mr. Tire in Fairfax, and they refused to fix the problem because they were adamant the caliper was Hyundais responsibility. At that point, I walked into the Fairfax Hyundai dealership and insisted to speak with the owner. Instead, a manager was available and he put me in contact with Kim **, the District Parts and Service Director. On 10-10-2012, Mr. ** told me that if I could get a Virginia State Inspection Station to report the car could not pass inspection due to a faulty caliper, he would see about repairing the car at no cost.I scheduled the car for inspection and a repair estimate on 10-15-2012 at CC Garage in Vienna, Virginia. I could not get an earlier date because this is one of the highest rated repair facilities in Northern Virginia and a Virginia State Inspection Station. CC Garage called me the next day and informed me the slide was no longer stuck and the caliper was working fine. He indicated he could not supply the report Mr. ** sought. At that point, I was fed up with the situation and told them to replace the pads and turn the rotors at a cost of $271. The rotors can only be turned a couple of times so now I am required to continuously worry when the caliper slide will become stuck again and cause another expensive repair. Eventually, this faulty caliper problem will require replacement of drums, rotors, and calipers. We wish we had not bought a Hyundai car at this point.I still felt Hyundai was not meeting its responsibility of honoring its warranty program. So yesterday, I started online research of similar problems Hyundai has had with brake calipers. My research indicates that this stuck caliper slide problem has existed since at least 2001, on various models of Hyundai passenger vehicles. I found complaints on your 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2010 models. Now I have a 2012 with the same exact problem. Refusing to address this faulty engineering problem has caused many a USA citizen unnecessary repair bills that should have been covered under Hyundais warranty and then a fix of the problem instead of ignoring the problem for years. I request three things for Hyundai to do: 1) Reimburse me for the $271.00 repair; 2) Assure me in writing that any future repair costs due to caliper problems on this car will be covered under the cars warranty program; 3) Assure USA citizens that Hyundai USA will immediately address and fix this problem on their passenger vehicles. I will wait for a reply to my concerns until 11-25-2012.

All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. Genesis is a separate something in the Hyundai universe. When it comes to finance or services, its Hyundai. The car itself is a gem. Nothing to say about performance, comfort, and all. For the service portion of it, its a complete disaster. Worse is when ethical issues reveal themselves. Believe it or not, parts from my engine were stolen during a 5,000 miles revision in a dealers service shop, false diagnosis of broken parts with a $3,000+ estimate on something verified absolutely functional, like new, not broken at all. Verified by a Genesis engineer after a long fight with management so upsetting this was. And finally the finance department reporting a late payment to the credit bureau when it was clear the payment cleared and all was fine. This is by the way the unresolved issue. They would not budge and remove their rating so obsessed they are to find you, the customer, wrong. Over three managers at the credit customer service department saw the evidence, accepted to make the change, and this was never done. The above shows a scary behavior. Two different dealers (stolen part was my first Genesis and the rest by another dealer where I leased the second G80). Am a customer service professional and very affected by this type of story when I read or hear it from someone. When going through it by myself it is of course more painful. I demanded they take the car back and close the leasing contract at no cost for me. They refused saying it is not a Lemon law violation. Instead as they recognized with their engineer that nothing justified any repair and that it was a scam and offered 3 months break on the leasing payments. Not one word of apology. I responded that it was not about the Lemon law or any default in the car but the simple fact that I cannot trust them moving forward and want to walk away from the relationship. They could not understand that.

My husband and I bought a 2015 Hyundai sonata and back in June, I locked my keys in the car and called their roadside assistance and a man came out to get into the car. Well he did alright, causing over $1600.00 and I got a big run around concerning it. He also damaged my sisters 2015 Hyundai sonata as well causing over $1200.00. When she contacted Hyundai about it, they told her to contact the private companys insurance about it. She did and was told too bad. At the time of service, no one knew the guy seemed to be intoxicated, informing my sister and myself they called him away from a poker game. Well, they sent me a check for a little over $1300.00. As to date, my sister never received a dime. As for Hatfield Hyundai or any other Hyundai for that matter, we are done. This was not our first Hyundai (brand new) but our 3rd on and I might add the night we walked in and bought this new we also sold two more for them that night. My sister and her daughter bought one too. I will not because Im still having issues when I apply the brake or just to accelerate. I feel a weird shimmy and took it back in, they say thats normal. Well if it is, how come I never felt that on the other brand new ones we bought? I took the Sonata for a seat belt recall last Friday and had the worst service ever. Now receiving e-mail from service manager because he covered a tub of paint on bumper and hood, and the side step panel is coming loose. So he emails me concerning my ratings on a survey, telling me how bad my ratings hurt him. Really? Now he says hes paying for both services when the car is still under warranty. That piece has been loose for a long time and I was busy trying to some results on the damages done to my sisters and mine cars. Buyers Beware. If you want a new Hyundai go to DESSIS, they at least care about your needs.

I recently took my car into Tuscaloosa Hyundai which is nearing the 60,000-mile original warranty and discovered that the new car warranties offered are limited. Did you know that the A/C system is only covered for one year? All of the systems in the car have different warranties so the 60,000-mile thing is just a scam. At 60,000 miles you are required to have certain services done for your so called million mile warranty to be valid and it is very costly. I assume that as you progress your mileage there will be more costly charges to continue your warranty. I just wanted to make the public aware that you are not getting a full bumper to bumper warranty. Whoever heard of a 1-year warranty on an A/C? On some systems, you have to pay for the parts while you are under warranty. This was never disclosed to me during my purchase of this vehicle. You can look the new car warranty up online and it says Limited new car warranty. I thought a warranty was a full warranty but this is not the case. My suggestion is buy a car with a real warranty, not a Hyundai.

On 06.07.2011, while driving engine, oil was leaking badly and stopped the vehicle and towed to Hyundai Service Center at No-1, Jalan Johor Jaya, Taman Perindustrian Plentong, Johore Bahru, 81750 (Mileage 145447). Because of warranty, they replaced new engine. Old engine no. ** New engine no. **. On 26.09.2011, I send the vehicle and complain: 1. Oil leaking at power steering area / Intercooler hose area.2. Noise at engine area on acceleration. (Turbo area). After checking, they said nothing and all in good condition. Some foreman refused after checking the engine, its not a new engine. Its a used engine, but Hyundai Service Center said its a new engine. If new engine, why this much problem?.On 11.04.2012 in the morning, when starting the engine, I saw white smoke. I drove the vehicle to Hyundai Service Center at same place. Service Center sent me the quotation (estimate repair charges): 1.Turbo charger assy - Rm 315.00 2. EGR valve - Rm180.00 3. Intercooler - Rm180.00 4. Cover assy-rocker and / Gasket - Rm 45.00 5. Repair oil leaking at timing area - Rm 45.00 6. TQ gasket rocker cover 224414a400 - Rm 58.95 7. That afternoon, when I got back my car and drove home, I saw that the panel where the gears are is scratched (looks like someone took a spanner or something while changing the automatic gears with it in hand). Several days later, I received an sms from the branch asking if I was satisfied with the service, and I replied no, I am not happy at all and told them about the scratched panel. Until today, they haven’t come back to me! In December, we went on holiday to Jeffrey’s Bay. On our way back, just before Kroonstad, we got a flat tire. I changed it and saw that in the inside, it is worn down to the wire, almost 5 cm. I looked at the other one, and it’s the same! We have to drive slowly as we don’t have a spare now. It is a mission to get two new tires in Kroonstad. Finally, we got the tires and after almost 5 hours and R7250.00 later and promises from Hyundai to replace it, we can continue to drive home (the car only has 9,000 km on the clock). So I sent the claim to Hyundai Lydenburg (where we bought the car). It’s now two months later, I do not know how many e-mails and phone calls, and we are still waiting for the money! The car almost has 10,000 km, suddenly the engine light goes on. I looked in the book and it says it has to get to a dealer as soon as possible. It was late at night, so the next morning, we took the car to Hyundai Nelspruit workshop. They put it on the lift and apparently there is an oil leak; we need to leave the car there as we are not allowed to drive with it (it was Monday, 6 February). So we have to rent a vehicle because no courtesy car was available (I talked to Hyundai again, they will pay the vehicle). I got a rental car from Euro Car. The first amount go off on my credit card on 8 February (R8091), and the second on 14 February (R2000), and the third on 6 March (R19,607). With our own car it would have been a bit cheaper to drive! On Thursday, we called the workshop (they said we can get it on Friday) to hear if our car is finished to collect the next day. No, they have to order a seal. A few days later, we phoned again, still not finished. They will only get the seal by 5 March! (I think they plant or grow rubber trees then milk them and only then can they produce a seal). A few weeks later, they called us (for a change) and told us they got the seal and we have to bring in the car so they can put it in. We told them that we can’t bring in the car as it is already standing there in the workshop for 3 weeks now, and that they can just immediately start with it! On Tuesday, we phoned again to hear if they are finished (was supposed to be finished on Monday). It was not. The seal they ordered was the wrong one, but they looked in their storeroom and found one (so actually the car was standing there for weeks now for nothing). They put the seal in, put in the oil, and suddenly there is another leak! And they don’t even phone us, we have to phone them every time! On Monday, 5 March, I stopped at the workshop to get my mailbox key (since it’s almost a month, I couldn’t take out my mail). They sent a young man to accompany me outside to my car to get my key. There my new car is standing way at the back in the sun. I wonder if it’s been standing there for all this time. (I don’t even let my old car stand in the sun for so long). It’s now more than 4 weeks later, I’m tired of begging and phoning all the time. I don’t even want that car anymore. It already gave us so much problems I don’t trust it anymore. We expect Hyundai to give us a brand new car, pay back our money for the tires, pay the bill on my credit card with interest for the rental car and bank charges on the credit card, so their name is not affected. It is the least they can do for us to compensate for all the inconvenience, or we have to take legal action. After I sent this mail to Hyundai, I got an e-mail from Liam from Customer Service saying that Hyundai will only pay for the labor and the seal. Thank heavens, they will pay a R5 seal and me R40,000 for rental and tires. At R4000 a kilometer above the buying of R400,000, I really hope to sell it or let it just stand too expensive for me. This is unacceptable. The public should know about the terrible service of Hyundai before they have to go through what we did. If you read the letter/message of the CEO, Alan Ross, (on their website) it is the opposite of what is happening in reality. In my situation, there is in no client service from Hyundai! Hyundai Nelspruit says they can’t work if there is no part. Hyundai sells thousands of vehicles and there is no part, wow. It’s like me booking in guests and tell them sorry we can’t take you on a game drive. I wonder for how long we still have to wait for our car and all the money? At least Hyundai Lydenburg tried to help us with this mess from Nelspruit workshop via e-mails, etc. I fear the day the car is not under guarantee anymore and I have to pay all the expenses because their service is so bad! I hope you can accomplish something with them.

In Europe Hyundai offer a 5 year, unlimited mileage warranty, with Hyundai Assistance (Call us for anything you need. Even if it a tyre with low pressure, is the sales pitch). Last Sunday I called them and told them that my left headlamp was not working on my 2 year 10 month old Hyundai. Additionally it was a Sunday and I needed to drive the car at night. They sent a mechanic, but alas, he did not have a lamp (!!!). I took the car to the garage the following day and despite all the issues, they charged 60 euro (approx 78 USD) for a lamp claiming that warranty does not cover the lamps. Lol...

I leased a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and was very unhappy with the auto. I contacted the dealer who said they would sell me a 2017 Hyundai Tucson and purchase the Elantra from me, I paid them $4350.00 which took care of early lease return fees, taxes and everything else. This was a purchase and sale. I have all the papers to prove this and tried to explain to them, Hyundai leasing, that I do not owe them anything and, if any monies have to be paid it would be by the Dealer, not me. Now they have reported me delinquent to the credit bureaus and as a result my credit scores have been reduced and as a result this has cost me higher interest fees, etc. I have disputed this with Equifax, Transunion and Experian but not successful. What can I do to rectify this???

No matter how hard I try, I can not get anywhere near 21mpg let alone 29mpg in the city. One of the major reasons I bought this car was the gas mileage. I purchased a brand new 2010 Hyundai Accent in October 2010. Since this purchase, I have had 22 visits to Hyundai. This car has been a lemon from the start. I have all documents showing the work needed to this vehicle since its purchase. I also contacted the head office and was basically told everything is under warranty and they refused to take back this vehicle. I have since had to purchase another vehicle because this 2010 Accent continues to break down on me. I want to get rid of this car once and for all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can send copies of all the work orders for this vehicle. I want all the money back that I have also spent on the purchase and repairs to this car. Thank you.

MY 2013 Hyundai was purchased brand new 7/23/13. 10/22/13 the driver side wheel well cover splash shield broke while I was on a major highway. I took the car to the dealer the same day and was told the warranty did not cover this part. I was told it had to be replaced as it kept dirt and road dust off the engine. The dealer made it sound like this was a major part and HAD to be replaced. The cost was $162.10. 5/2/15, the same thing occurred and I did not hit anything. I feel should be covered under the warranty. In addition I do not think this is a critical part that has to be replaced to protect the engine. The part is 86811-3Q500 Guard Assy - Fr Wheel LH.

Hyundai Financing has to be one of the most incompetent companies Ive ever dealt with. We leased which we will NEVER do again and then we were buying a house. In order for us to get the FHA loan, we had to sell the car to get it out of my name EVEN though my company was paying for it. We had my mom get a loan and buy it from Hyundai Leasing. We mailed the check overnight. I waited two days and then started calling to make sure they received it. After 5 DAYS of calling constantly and talking to a different person in their call center every time, we finally got a document saying that the loan was paid in full and the balance was zero. The call center is not located where the check was and neither was the supervisors who are actually located in a complete different location as well. No one knew exactly where the check was. I had to contact FedEx to show that it had been delivered. I had supervisors making promises that they would send us a document of closure but never did. I have never been so ticked with a company before! Then we get a letter stating that the current credit union that is providing us with the loan has not received the title yet. Its been 4 weeks since the check was received and applied! I just called them and they said that they had not received the odometer disclosure statement. What the?!! Did anyone tell us about that document?! OF COURSE NOT! I love my car but I will never finance a car through them and I may never buy another one from Hyundai.

Hyundai Motor Finance sent us an unsolicited pre-approval. We were in the market for a new car, Hyundai vehicles had good ratings so we went to the Hyundai dealer. We should have known from the get go that something was fishy, they tried to change the rates/terms in the pre-approved letter, then the $2,500 discount magically disappeared from the final contract, they then said it did not apply to pre-approved offers, though it had been on the first contract they showed us. Our mistake - It was now 10 at night, we went ahead signed the papers and drove the car home. Problems started with the first payment that they claimed not to receive the paper check in the mail, then paying online was not an option, so we went to Western Union and sent them a payment. Second payment same issue. They seem to have real administrative problems processing and keeping track of paper checks. Third payment we sent in a double payment to cover the month ahead. 2 months later they processed the check, it bounced for NSF ($10 difference in our bank account). They repossessed the car with no warning, no contact, no opportunity to even know that the payment they took 2 months to process had now bounced. They took our car over 300 miles and 6 hours away to another state and gave us less than 10 days to reclaim the car (with hundreds in extra fees for towing and storage now applied). Every attempt to process paperwork with them was a waste of time. We spent over 12 hours on hold in a period of 3 days trying to resolve this, only to be cut off, transferred, or just plain left in limbo. One day we were on hold over 2 hours when it hit 5 PM, and we were disconnected because their office closed. We finally got one human on the phone who was willing to help us and would fax paperwork for us over to the dealer. It never arrived. The finance dept at the dealership was equally baffled and attempted to help us resolve the issues but Hyundai finance wouldnt ever cooperate with the dealers office.Of the limited number of days we had to reclaim our car, 4 of those days were weekend days which their office was closed. So we had 6 working days to try to resolve this with an office that we could never get through to except on a very few occasions (I think we actually got a human 3 times out of about 40-50 tries). No paperwork ever arrived at the dealer, they would not accept any paperwork that the dealer had on hand (it had to be their special forms). Our car was over 300 miles away in another state. We had the cash - but because of their convoluted procedures, and lack of help, and terrible staffing on their customer service lines - WE LOST OUR CAR!Where did our car end up? At a Hyundai dealer in Ohio that seems to have a car lot brimming with dozens of used Hyundais, less than one year old with low miles (like our car), that are for sale at almost the same price as when they were brand new, but with used car interest rates, with car loans offered by - you guessed it - Hyundai finance! We were out our $2,000 down payment, our $4,000 trade in, + 2 payments, and now with the extra fees Hyundai STILL wants an ADDITIONAL $3,500 from us for a car we had less than 4 months. Our credit is wrecked (the repo lowered our score over 120 points instantly). In hind sight - this seems like a terrible scam where they are selling the cars twice, the second time at higher interest rates at almost the same price as brand new, and racking up impossible fees, and unwilling to work with consumers to get their cars back.4 months with our Hyundai cost over $10,000 - not a bargain in anyones book. Their lack of customer service, inability to reach them, the stonewalling as we tried to get the money to them to reclaim our car - they just made it absolutely impossible. And sending our car over 300 miles away - how high do they have to make the hurdles? We live in a metropolitan area with plenty of auction lots where the car could have gone to, sending it 300 miles away was overkill, designed to make it even more difficult for us. The finance manager at the local dealer was left shaking his head. Apparently 300 miles is the MAXIMUM that they are allowed by law to take the car and they took it to the max (12 miles further according to MapQuest). Shady.

VIN # **. We recently returned a leased 2016 Tucson, the lease was for 3 years. A letter from Hyundai, dated 13 June 2019, stated that we owed over $1100 on this Tucson. The main cause of this costs is apparently a very small, about a 1 inch “star” chip in the left headlight area. To most people the car looked almost new. If this charge stands you have a VERY dissatisfied customer. Before this outlandish charge you had a very satisfied customer.

I bought a 0KM Hyundai Tucson here at Argentina, and it had its gear box ruined when an official Hyundai workshop got GL5 oil in it, instead of GL4. GL5 oil eats this type of gear boxes which have yellow metals in it, such as bronze. After this, the gear box started having several problems and malfunctions. They accepted their error but never agreed to replace the entire gear box; they just repaired it instead. By now, they have made two repairs to the gear box, and I am now having several new issues back again. They still dont agree to replace it for a new one. This would be the third time the gear box should get repaired, and the vehicle only has 80.000 KM. I am really disappointed; this is really unfair.

Ira ** at Camelback Hyundai service department is a service manager that could have done things differently today and actually helped a customer, but instead, he chose to not agree with the customer. In my case, I bought a Honda Sonata back in 2016 from Camelback Hyundai and my skid plate on my car came undone about 3 months ago. And instead of replacing the plate and damaged part they chose to use zip ties instead. The other day I was driving home from work and what would you know, those ties came loose and the plate fell. This time it completely came off along with the right wheel well cover leaving me on the freeway with rush hour traffic trying to get it without getting hit. He didnt even keep in mind or even consider that my life was at risk trying to retrieve a part.Today they told me that they would not replace the plate as it was not of their doing, but see it was because they didnt properly secure it the first time, instead they used zip ties instead of real fasteners. This is the email I received from Ira today stating, The temporary repairs lasted an excess of 8,000 miles, I would say you got your money’s worth which was zero cost to you, the consumer. WOW! As you can see they failed to replace the part and could have fixed this in the first place as he even stated temporary fix.I have a warranty on the vehicle, yet this is a supposed part that is not covered even though it is used to protect the engine from debris and keep other parts from damage. I am sorry Ira but you have failed in your customer service department. And instead of helping a customer with something that should have been covered you chose to present me with a cost for something that I had no control over, something you as a service department should have fixed right the first time. I will not be using Camelback Hyundai for any service from here on out and warn others to stay away as they dont truly care about the customer. This is how I received my car back today with missing clips that could have been secured and a hazard to me as a driver on the road.

Problem with 2008 Sante Fe - The fuel gauge in my vehicle has stopped registering the gasoline. I fill up vehicle and turn on engine and it registers zero fuel. Sometimes it might register 1/4 of a tank for a few minutes, then goes back to zero. The check engine light started coming on at the same time. The car was taken to Advance Auto and their register gave a number (which escapes me right now) but when we looked it up it said the fuel sensor was bad. From reading numerous complaints about the same problem, it seems the repair for this can cost anything from $300 - $700. This seems to me grossly unfair as it is obviously a defect in the equipment and should be repaired at the companys cost. Thanks for listening.

I am extremely disappointed by the way Hyundai USA decided to handle my handsfree case. This issue was present since day 1 of us purchasing the vehicle in 2017. I spent a lot of my time at home and away from work troubleshooting and sending several audio recordings to the company and have been able to reproduce the issue with every single phone call, however the dealership kept the vehicle for several hours and returned it back stating we dont see a problem. I purchased a new phone, and switched 3 different carries, however the problem never went away. I am extremely saddened by Hyundais lack of ownership of the issue. The least Hyundai could do is try to replace the radio or the microphone to eliminate the issue, instead Hyundai decided to close the case. However, after this experience, I will be taking my business to a company that stands behind their customers. It is such a shame for the entire Hyundai team that they wont stand behind the customer and fix something that is still under warranty.

I asked them to show me where in the book does it say this, and they pointed to a short sentence that says any wear item is not covered under warranty. They told me Hyundai has a list of not covered items. I called Hyundai to complain and the first thing he said is We have an extensive list of items not covered by our warranty. Wow, it would be nice if they put this in the customers warranty information. He put me on hold, and then came back and said that seats and upholstery are not covered by any warranty, not even for one day for new vehicle. I was driving down the road in North Carolina when I heard a loud bang. The moon roof of my 2011 Sonata shattered. Glass completely went out in one piece. The dealer tried to say that the roof was hit by an object. Im waiting for Hyundai to do the right thing. The car is still under warranty. I hope that I dont have to ride around a long time with sun roof broken and raining in my car. I have no garage.

I bought a car from Hyundai in 2018 Of September. I have had this car for not even 7 months. Bought it with 7k miles on it and I’ve never missed a payment and was always a valued customer with my parents always owning one too. So when I bought the vehicle it had no recalls on it, one day I saw something online about recalls so I ran my vin to see if my car was part of the recall and it was and the recall was for the ECM, so I taken my car to Hyundai in Manassas, Virginia and got the recalled fixed. They told me all is good and my car is ready to go.Two weeks later my car goes into limp mode and won’t go over 20 miles a hour, I called the dealership nearest to me and asked them to take my car in and the one I called was Hyundai in Woodbridge, Virginia. They said they would not take me because my car was not purchased there, even though this fell under a warranty recall, so I called Fairfax Hyundai Virginia and they said that I could bring it in. Well I waited 4 hours for a tow truck and it finally got there and we headed to the dealership. I get there and waited 2 more hours for someone to run a test on my car to see what was wrong with it and it came back as I needed a new engine. Being told I need a new engine I was put in a rental car for about 3 months and I waited and waited and called at least once a week for an update. Felt like I couldnt get anything out of them besides, It’s still on back order.Well finally I get a call from the dealership saying I did not need a new engine, and all it was is a wiring harness. So I waited 3 months thinking I was getting a new engine and all I got was a new harness. Well finally I picked up my car that day they called. Returned the rental and I was heading home down I-95 in Virginia going 70 down the interstate my car completely shuts down on me and wouldnt turn back on. So I was able to safely pull over with my niece in the car with me, I got to the side of the road and called them again to explain what happen. Well they asked if I could bring it back in so I did. My car then stalled out and went into limp mode 8 more times on my way 45 minutes back to the dealership.I drop the car off and the dealership ran it over the weekend and I get a call back on a Monday and they tell me they couldnt find the problem and nothing was wrong with the car. I get back in my car look at the mileage and it was exactly the same from when I brought it in, knowing that I am now mad. My wife and I with a baby in the car refuses to drive the car and I’ve had it parked at our house. After contacting Hyundai America and speaking with someone named Anthony I asked nicely for them to take this death trap away from me and he said that he would do a case for me and he would keep me updated. Well that was 2 weeks ago today, I still havent heard from him and I’ve called multiple times a day for a long time and it goes straight to voicemail. I’ve left countless voicemails and still no response. I personally would never recommend Hyundai to even my worst enemy after the experience I have had with you all and I will never own another in my life.

This is an amazing car. Being a plug in hybrid I get almost 700 miles on combination electric and gas. Its very comfortable and room for 5, plus great storage with the back seats folded down {I can even get my golf clubs and cart in the back}. The electronic features are very good. It gives a feeling of safety and convenience.Sound system is better than I would have thought for a smaller car. I would buy again.

I was confused to see two emails with 3 different packages. You are forced to buy one in order to get the other two. Mike, sales rep, was not helpful in assisting in my request to speak with a manager, to receive a better understanding. I will not buy another Hyundai, and I will notify any else who plans to buy one with the bluelink. I just spoke with Mike at 7:00 pm, on May 21, 2018. I was very disappointed in Hyundai.

This Hyundai car is just the right size, the amount of gas it burns is great, it gives a comfortable ride. There is plenty of room for passengers, the trunk is very large and great room for suit cases and groceries. Having front wheel drive and it handles well in the snow. Also, it has air conditioning, cruise control, CD player with an AM/FM radio, a five speed automatic, rear window defroster and keyless lock. Another feature is that the rear seats fold down allowing you to place big objects in the back, if the trunk is not big enough. The car also has driver and passenger side air bags. Though it did not have a spare tire it did have a tire inflator that can plug into an accessory socket. But I wish the car had a bigger engine because it lacks power and a rear camera would make it more easy to back up, it should also come with Bluetooth to make pairing with smart phones and MP3 players.

I will start with I love my car, it’s a beautiful blue, fits my family well and it is a delight to drive, when it worked, but I am saddened by how my newer vehicle had a catastrophic failure with all warnings and bells that are supposed to come in play, not work and leave my young child and I sit on the side of the road on a hot day, and then get the run around between corporate and the dealership. I am an essential worker and I must get to work and get my child to and from care daily. I am being told my car is listed as a rental car, um, we bought this car from a dealer for our family car. I work at an accounting firm, this car is not a rental. It gets my little family to and from point A to point B, so someone needs to correct this paperwork error which we have been asking for. Second, I am being told that my vehicle’s warranty doesn’t move to the second owner yet. On our purchase paperwork it states in 1 place that we have the factory warranty with the purchase and in a second place it states in very large font, WARRANTY INCLUDED, the dealer will pay 100% of the labor and 100% of the parts for the balance of the factory warranty of 10 years or 100k miles. We had the vehicle towed to the dealer per what the engineer at corporate advised my husband to do. It has been a week and we are getting the run around on if anything will be fixed and if we can even get a loaner car. We work overlapping times on the other sides of the county and cannot possibly share a vehicle. Unable to find rides every day, one of us had to miss multiple days of work dealing with this. My car is a 4 year old Hyundai Tucson that is equipped to warn you if you have low tire pressure, a door is ajar, oil is low and so on and so on. Somehow, no warning at all, and very on time oil changes, my car made an odd noise going up a hill, and then it died. The engine seized. How can something like that happen on a 4 year old car, less than 100k miles and none of its warnings throwing red flags and there wasn’t any codes either. Did I mention my husband is a mechanic. This is not normal and I don’t understand why we are getting the run around between the dealer and corporate. A loaner car should have been approved immediately along with the warranty work. I want to be able to continue enjoying my car that I’m still paying for. :(

I am having a huge issue with the quality of service that I am receiving from Hyundai’s service department in Carlsbad. I had an issue with my car on Friday 10/5 around 730 am. I had the car brought to the service department at the dealership by AAA that morning. I received a call from the AAA driver that my car was dropped off at 815. I didn’t hear anything until 2pm from Ulysses that they received my car. He had a second to look at it and maybe it had just run out of gas. I explained that it was having issues prior & when the AAA guy jumped in it did turn on before bogging out so if they could do a diagnostic to the car just to make sure everything else was fine.He asked for my consent to put $20 worth of gas in it and then let me know if it turned on before doing the diagnostic. It has now been 5 days and I have not received one text or call. I called to get an update about the gas, but Ulysses had already left for the day. When I called today I was placed on hold for 13 mins before a rude receptionist told me Ulysses was out for the next two days and won’t be getting to my car. Is this what I can now normally expect from this location? Before moving out here I would take it to the dealership in Corona and they have always given me the best service, quick and communicated great with what was going on. I now feel slight nervous and used leaving my car at a dealer that is so unresponsive and upright rude every time I’ve called.

Don’t Buy it and waste your time and money! I lease Hyundai Tucson on December 2018. The car was running perfect for 3 months. The start showing same problem over and over, the problem is happened often but in not continuous manner. The problem is:1. If the car off, once you insert the key in ignition, the key stuck and not turn the car on. After 15 to 30 minutes the car back to normal.2. If the car on ... suddenly the maintenance light, the turned on, the AC turned off, the front left signal off, the engine overheated and when you turn the car off the key stuck in ignition. The issue continue happened almost once a week for 30 minutes and then disappeared and back running normal. I took one of my vacation day and took it to the dealer. I explained the issue in detail, he said as far as the issue not continues he can diagnose it.“People who create car cannot identify issue and leave you with possibility to stuck in the middle of nowhere of that issue happened ... funny right”. Every time the issue happening I called hyundai to come pick up the car and find out what’s going out and give me a loaner car since my work required a car all time —- customer service, case manager reject my request. Last time the issue cont. so I called the road side assistance. They took it to the dealer. The car was in repair for three days. Hyundai did not give me a loaner car and they offer the max reimbursement for rental car $38/day... that offer after I had a case # with them and two days after I was without car ... in NYC is impossible. The min car rental is $60/day in NYC and that for smaller car than the Tucson. The dealer claim that he fix it by replacing the ignition. 30 minutes after I pick the car up and on my way back the issue is happened again for 30 mins... Again back to same hyundai concept cannot identify their car issued .... funny. That would be the last car I buy or lease from hyundai. Except if you wanna ride a car with a fancy shape but 20 yrs old keep showing problems.

Faulty Caliper Pins on 2012 Accent: Long story short, I had Merchants Tire in Warrenton look at my brakes because of awful noise. They showed me the gouge in the rotor from where the brake pad wore because of a faulty caliper pin. They stated there should be no reason for this caliper pin to be broken and the pad to wear unevenly. They called Browns Manassas Hyundai and conferred with one of their mechanics. He also seemed to think it was a factory defect and under warranty. They suggested bringing it in and confirming the issue. I made an appointment for 3:30 the next day. At noon, they called and said the service station was closed and they set up an appointment at Fairfax Hyundai. I drove my car 45 miles out to Fairfax where I was treated like a stupid girl and spoken to as if I were an ignorant child. They said it would take at least 2 hours before they could look at it. I left with my ride and half way home, I received a call from the service department. They stated that the brake pads were worn evenly but needed changed, the rotors needed turned and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the calipers. It would cost around $400-$450 to fix. This completely contradicted Merchants (who have known me for the past 8 years). I am fed up with the runaround so I contacted a supervisor, Gustavo, at Hyundai Customer Service. He assured me that it sounded suspicious and he would call Fairfax. On my way back to picking up my car, which I instructed them NOT TO TOUCH, Fairfax Hyundai calls me to say, “It does seem to be a caliper issue but its just dirty and we can clean it. But you do need pads and rotors. We can fix it but it will cost you. I spent the last half hour trying to DIG the brake pad out of the rotor with a screw driver!” WHAT? A SCREW DRIVER DIGGING A BRAKE PAD OUT OF MY ROTOR? I was just told the rotors were fine, no scratches and worn evenly and now they are digging something out of them. I am beyond irate and disgusted. Going on 2 weeks now and car is still not fixed. On top of that, they are having to reimburse consumers because of the misquoted mpg.

Purchased a 2013 veloster turbo in feb 2014 off showroom floor... Purchase price 39 588 with extended warranty which at time of purchase was told warranty was bumper to bumper... Not long into owning the car problems started... Sensors navigation power windows airbag replacement just to name a few... All covered by Hyundai warranty... Now at 114 km was informed car needs new engine... which of course extended warranty will not cover... They deemed it normal wear and tear... Really?... When I complained to canada hyundai and ontario hyundai nobody wants to pay for it... Customer service at hyundai canada was appalling. Was basically told Oh well too bad you are on your own... Would not even give me a number for corporate hyundai...Now my question is... This make and model has already had a recall on the engine... Hyundai fix a computer upgrade. My question is how can hyundai canada sell this car on the market knowing from the get go this 2013 turbo had engine problems... Supposedly by the 2014 model they fixed the issues... Unfortunately this does not help me... The attitude from canada hyundai when I approached them for a fix was... not their problem... Would not do one thing to help me... Washed their hands of it... Hyundai canada once they get your 40.000 dollars thats it... I asked them who pays 40.000 for a car and needs an engine replacement at 114 000 km... HYUNDAI... Their customer service needs revamped... So disappointed in Hyundais reaction...Would advise do not purchase hyundai as they certainly do not stand behind their product... They passed off the problem to the consumer. This is a prime example of a cheaply manufactured car for a very expensive price... Hyundai canada would not help me at all... Very rude and unprofessional head office... My advice stay away from purchasing a Hyundai veloster turbo or any hyundai product... When you have problems with their vehicle they are certainly not going to help you, as was proven in this case... Totally gobsmacked at Hyundais response...

I have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra limited edition. I have loved this car from the beginning. This is my second Hyundai and Ive truly enjoyed the brand; however my sunroof has been making this loud ticking noise. I brought it into the dealer once and they said there was a recall on the sunroof. Now that its been nice outside, I tried it again. The issue was not fixed. When I took it Balise Hyundai of Fairfield the manager came to look at it. It told me it was a defect in the making of the Elantra. There was nothing I could do to fix it. Now, my expensive car has an unusable sunroof. One of my favorite features! He said I could write to Hyundai, if there were enough complaints they would recall it, but the 2016 does not have a problem with this feature. This cannot be a solution. Buying a new car (when Im dissatisfied with the old design), doesnt seem to be an applicable solution in this scenario.

I got a flat on my new 2015 Sonata Hybrid. Called roadside assistance and they told me I had to have it towed to the nearest Dealership. I thought it had something to do with it being a Hybrid but it turns out that the cars dont have spares, they have inflation kits. Going to the dealer is normally not a problem but it was SUNDAY!!!!!! I told the person at Roadside that but it didnt seem to faze her. The nearest dealership was my only option. So now my car is stuck there overnight and I miss a days work because I work 35 miles away. If they brought me home I could have had it fixed. If they brought me to Pep Boys or any tire place I could have had it fixed. They need to get their heads out of their butts over there. Since owning my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, I have had a number of recalls (or as the company likes to call them, ‘campaigns’). The most recent includes FOUR recalls. I took time off of work to get the recalls addressed, and yet, I still keep receiving notices that I need to take the car back in for the same recalls that I got taken care of. When you call customer service all you get is the run around or told that you are being “hostile” when they question you about where the emails are coming from and you tell them you have full command of the English language or “talking over them”. I still can’t use my phone’s bluetooth as the company never updated their system with the newer phones. My navigation system doesn’t know half of the addresses I put in, and the car only has 44,000 miles in 6 years. In addition, I constantly have to put air in my right front tire, regardless of the weather. Now I have to go back because the dealer disengaged the heated seats so I can’t even trade it in until they fix their mistake, and that was after the dealer tried telling me that the recalls had nothing to do with the heated seats (which they then had to reverse course on as the tech had to disconnect the heated seat wires to put the airbag harness on). Hyundai claims in their ads that they make ‘better’ cars. Better for who? Because it DEFINITELY isn’t better or safer for the consumer. I feel that is a misrepresentation of the truth. Save yourself and your wallet! Don’t even look bother. There are other more reputable companies from which to choose from. Honestly, I think the federal government needs to look into the safety of Hyundai’s vehicles.

I have owned my 2012 Sonata for 1 yr and 10 months. The chrome trim on the hood was noted to be bubbling up, when I took it for its 60K mile maintenance. Its not rust, but rather bumps coming up on the trim work. Definitely a workmanship/manufacturer issue. I paid extra for the best warranty I could get when I bought the car. That was for 10 yrs and 100,000 miles, bumper to bumper, everything included they say when they sell you the car. Incidentally my warranty was extra at the time and not part of the special 10yr /100k they offered later. I paid around $2K extra for it. The dealership stated they would see if the corporate office would cover it because now they say the trim is not included in the bumper to bumper 10yr/100K warranty but for only 3yr/36K! How can they change the rules?? The corporate office stated they would not cover it. The service representative said the dealership might cover it under Goodwill. However he called today to tell me they wont cover it either! Guess they have no Goodwill there. (The dealership that lacks goodwill is Carl Gregory in Brunswick, Georgia.) So what about my Everything warranty?? The point is it should have been covered. Who wants to buy a car from a company that doesnt stand behind their warranty or their words? Secondly who wants a car that falls apart at 1 yr and 10 months!!? Not even halfway through most car payments. I am upset and stuck with my Hyundai Junk and I wont be buying a Hyundai again. They are not a reputable company. (Just got sued yesterday for $100 million lying about their emissions.) Beware!

Bought this car 2nd hand from a dealer. Car had low mileage and was in great shape. Two weeks after we bought it with a 3rd party warranty, we found out we could can barely put gas in it. Also we had to get the fuel level sensors replaced because we never knew how much gas we had. We have talked to the dealership we bought it from. They said they couldnt fix anything because we bought it as is. It may take up to 30 minutes to put a half a tank in. Recently we had to take it to a different dealership because the alternator went out which was caused by a leaking valve cover which they replaced the front valve cover and the alternator at no cost. But didnt change the back valve cover which was still leaking as well. Which I would have been more than glad to pay for. Also one day after we got it out the shop now the drivers side floor board is full of water because of something leaking from the sunroof. Which there have been so many complaints about these issues. But all the consumers get stuck footing the bill.

I bought a Hyundai Accent 2016 as a compact car for the city in late April 2016. The test drive was short; I did not notice any issue then. After a few weeks driving small distances every other day, I noticed that my back was getting stiff, my neck also, and I developed acute pain in the sciatic nerve. Every bump on the road made it less and less bearable. Early July, I had to drive the car on much longer distances through the city... By the third day I was crippled in bed with excruciating pain. As I was contemplating the ceiling wondering how I was going to take my dog out and feed the kids, I realized that the last time this had happened, 25 years ago, I had bought a Hyundai Excel and I had not linked the pain to the car! Instead I spent thousands of dollars at a chiropractor and on pain killers; saddened that I had a bad back at such a young age. I had no idea a seat could be so badly built; also the suspension could be so weak and of bad quality, that it could injure our backs. In between I bought a Volvo to raise a family; then a Lexus; and I had no problem even during pregnancy or after moving stuff from house to house. This time, I went online and yes, many others also experience back pain in a Hyundai. Doing yoga, bicycling and being fit, my age is not related to the problem, I told the dealer when I brought the car back. He offered 14 000 dollars in July to take my 20 000 dollars Hyundai back. He tried to sell to me a Sonata or an Elantra 2017 for an extra four thousand dollars. I refused. I simply cannot afford such a loss. Online I had found that many others also report acute back problems with these Sonata and Elantra. I contacted Hyundai Canada and they told me to try another dealership, that there was nothing they could do.I researched and ordered two orthopedic cushions and back support to help. I still have a sensitive back. It is manageable, as long as I do not do long drives. Otherwise I feel stiff and need special care and rest when I get out of the car. My yoga practice has suffered from this and I no longer contemplate becoming a yoga instructor. So please DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI IF YOU WANT TO AVOID SUCH DAMAGE TO YOUR BACK. I will sell this car as soon as possible and will never own a Hyundai again. The second time was one too many. Now I know.

Called Hollar Hyundai to set an appointment to get my alternator replaced. Derek said they were booked, but would try at 2pm, but no guarantee they could touch it today, even if I got there, then said that since my mileage is close to the expiration of the warranty of 60,000 (actual miles then was 55,555) that the warranty may not cover it!
