I bought a 2011 Hyundai Elantra in Feb. 2011. The only reason I bought this car was for the gas mileage advertisement, 29 city/40 hwy. I was getting 22 city and 40 hwy. This was acceptable, even though the city was 7 miles lower. After my 3000 mile oil change, I am now getting 16 miles city. I have taken my car to the dealer. They said they could not gauge city driving. I asked them what is the problem. They tested the car on the highway going 30 miles. They said they averaged 34 miles. I am totally dissatisfied with the low mileage. Most of my driving is city/partial highway and I am hard time living with this situation. In 2010, I had a Nissan Altima, loaded and got 18 city miles and in the mid 30s highway. Presently, I am averaging 177 miles to 10.5 gallons of gas. Is there anything I can do about this?

We were carefully followed an advertised special and confirmed the information very precisely with the sales agent so as not to waste our time. But once we were at the dealership in Houston we were extremely disappointed and sickened by repeatedly being lied to by every level of the dealership. This is not a good company. Their policy is not honest and is very tricky and trying to avoid fulfilling the offers they make. We are not easily fooled but they tried very hard to say one thing and do another. You would be better off avoiding this company altogether! We are really very shocked and would like to prevent anyone from wasting their precious time by believing Hyundai is trustworthy!

Purchased a Hyundai Kona in 2018, just over 30G miles while in Colorado the check engine light goes on (this is August 2020). Take the car to Boulder Hyundai, they have no real idea what is wrong with it, replace injectors, debris in engine, they dont know why.... Wont release car as it could be unsafe, all 4 pistons misfiring so bad that the steering wheel pulls aggressively to the right. Supposedly they fix it, I am told if check engine light comes back on, stop car immediately and have it towed in, as it is dangerous to drive. Well Sept 7th, check engine light comes on again, steering wheel pulling aggressively again due to misfiring. I stop, have car towed in. Nalley Hyundai has had my car since 9/8/20. Replaced everything again, still same problem, they are in no rush to help, they have had my car for OVER 6 weeks, no clue whats wrong, I am completely at their mercy! Still making payments on car I cannot drive, they refuse to take it back and make it right. So I am paying on a car I have not driven in over 6 weeks and there is nothing I can do about it! Dont buy a kona! Dont buy a hyundai! They dont care at all and you as the customer have no advocate!

Car lost power while driving down the interstate and engine started to run
Car lost power while driving down the interstate and engine started to run very roughly. Took it to the closest dealership on my next day off who called me the NEXT day to tell me that I could come and get the car, but its not fixed because they dont have a fault code to be able to fix an issue, even though they can clearly see that the car isnt running correctly. Car is still under warranty, but wont run, and Im supposed to just bring it home??? Does that make any sense to you?? IDIOTS! Then the service advisor goes as far as to try and sell me a tune-up... ON A CAR THAT WONT RUN! RIDICULOUS!Customer care, not much help there either. They tell me a manager will contact me in 3 to 5 business days. I also bought an extended warranty that NO ONE CAN FIND under my VIN #. How does that work? Every other manufacturer has always been able to see my warranty info listed by the VIN#.... why not Hyundai? All this sounds like HUGE runaround tactics to me. You got me once Hyundai, but never again. Should have stuck to HONDA, Ive had 3 of them and never any issues. Very dissatisfied.

I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happie
I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happier with the car the first 18 months of ownership. However, in June of 2015, my cars hybrid alert came on when I put the car in park and the car locked up and would not turn back on again. I had to have it towed to Sacramento Hyundai where they kept it for the day, then gave it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Two days later it did this again and again, would not turn on. I had it towed to Roseville Hyundai because this was where the hybrid specialist worked. In the end, I ended up bringing my car to Roseville Hyundai (about 40 minutes from my house) a total of 4 times. Each time they fixed something on the car but the car was never actually fixed and would break down again 1-2 days after I got it back.During this whole time wasting process I was always put in awful stock rental cars after having to wait at numerous car rental shops after I was told by the dealership that there would be a rental waiting for me (there never was). I have had my car sitting at the dealership, untouched for over a week with no contact by the dealer while they decided (or corporate decided) what they wanted to do next. I was told time and time again that this was a one in a million occurrence, that these things NEVER happen with new Sonatas. After doing my own research on other new Hyundai owners experiences, I beg to differ. It seems like these things happen quite often with the newer Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai Motors eventually decided to stop allowing the dealership to spend any more money trying to fix my car (the dealership was not allowed to swap in a new transmission or engine). So they ended up just turning off the alerts - they didnt tell me they did this but it is quite obvious this is what happened since the car is running the exact same, power and acceleration issues, just no more hybrid alerts. Kinda suspicious. So once I got the car back this final time I began dealing with corporate which has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I talked to a live person probably a total of about 4-5 minutes throughout the whole lemon law process that began at the end of August.Leaving a message with Hyundai would result in a call back in 5-7 days. It took the representative over a week just to ASK the dealership for my repair records. And then a couple more weeks before she sent everything in to corporate while I was calling her constantly trying to get updates on the whole process, only to be ignored.. They have a certain number of days that they legally need to respond to lemon law cases and they definitely push this to the very last day. I figured driving a dangerous car that was now having issues getting onto freeways and accelerating from traffic lights would get them to respond to my concerns quicker, but they could have cared less. Once I finally received a letter. I was offered a buyback, not a replacement since this is not required by law.Hyundai only does exactly what is required of them by law (quite often they dont even go this far I have heard) so that they are able to pay as little as possible for the broken car that they sold you. This awful experience that I have been going through should require some sort of human response from the company instead of just 1 actual semi-informative voicemail from the representative (just saying that they would not be giving me a replacement vehicle) and ONE letter from corporate. This letter with the buyback deal had no actual numbers. It just stated that I would be charged some mileage fee for each mile I drove the car (that I had to research myself to figure out since no one from Hyundai actually talked to me). That they would not be reimbursing me for any money that I put into the car... So too bad you loved this car and did everything you could to keep it running properly and looking beautiful... And that I would be charged for any damage to the car. Then they asked me to sign and send it back to complete the process. How do I know what they consider damage and how much theyll charge for it? On top of that, all the extra money I put into the car would be ignored - tinted windows, 4 brand new tires I purchased just a week before all this went down, the $400 maintenance at 35K that Hyundai forces you to do so this warranty can be upheld, etc. On a more personal note Hyundai could care less about the time, energy, and work time lost in this whole process to drive the broken car back and forth to Roseville (when it was driveable) and all the time spent at rental car businesses... The mileage penalty being forced on me causes the $350/month payment to basically go towards borrowing this car for 2 years when I had wrongly assumed that I was in the process of purchasing the car and that my money was going somewhere, and now I am left with nothing. The buyback that Hyundai offered would not even cover my down payment I had made on the car, let alone the monthly payments for the past 2 years. In the end, I would love for this company to just fix my car or give me a car that actually works. My family and I have owned Hyundais for years and have loved the cars and always said nothing but good things about them. But this is our first new Hyundai and we have never had to deal with the actual company until I unfortunately purchased a lemon. The Hyundai corporation is horrid to deal with and does not care about the satisfaction of its loyal customers. I should have researched the reputation of this company before purchasing the car but naively I had faith in Americas Best Warranty to take care of me if anything should go wrong. Reading other peoples reviews on this company and how they have dealt with consumers and their warranty it seems as if this happens quite frequently. Hyundai will do everything in their power to get out of honoring their warranty and if state laws force them to do something, they will be sure to do as little as possible no matter what their loyal customer has gone through. This will definitely be the last Hyundai I ever waste my money on.

I bought my 2011 Sonta in September 2011. From the very beginning I should have known something was not right. The car was fine but the people, sales people and financial staff leave something to be desired. My original quote was what I agreed upon but when they processed the paper work it appeared to have escalated in monthly payments amount of $80. I have been to the Fairfax Hyundai several times since then and have never walked away feeling as if I were taken care of or received what Hyundai says it would do with customer service. The last time I went in, the service person said that he would take care of me and ended up charging me for what should have been routine service and, they did a software upgrade recall that no one told me about. They charged me $400 and then, when I questioned the charges and showed them the work, they did they said they made a mistake but would not be able to refund the money and would give me a service credit. After a few calls to them and my credit card company, they refunded the amount to my account but did absolutely nothing to compensate me for the eventual charges I racked up due to their connivance.I now check regularly to see what the latest malady with this car just to make sure I am driving a somewhat safe vehicle. To be fair, the car has been great. It worked fine until I had to take it in to Fairfax Hyundai. The last incident my car just died on the road, really bad area for traffic. I had to call the police to run their lights to keep me from getting hit. Shout of to the City of Falls Church, VA and their police department. They were great. I have roadside assistance and they sent someone from Blairs towing (Alex) and he was great too. There was only a 20-30 minute waiting period. He towed my car to the dealership. Now, my wife had been talking to the service floor manager and he informed her that when I arrived I would get a loaner car. That never happened. She had to come pick me up from the shop. I am waiting to hear from them still now. They said they would call at 8 this morning. What can I do? I have no idea what to or how to take some sort of action that would make a significant impact on the way they service cars or people.

Key fob falls off a lot. Unlike other fobs the key does not fold out, it is an L-shaped key that slides right out of the fob when pressure is put on the small button which protrudes from the fob approximately 1/16 of an inch and releases the key. All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. My husbands has fallen off in his backpack while setting the keys on his desk, in his pocket, and while opening the door.

I purchased a new 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT in January 2014. I bought the Titanium package with my car and about two months later I hit a pothole and ruined my tire. I filed a claim and they not only didnt pay the $200 but never even responded other than to say they needed more documentation (which I submitted). This service is not worth the energy to get a reimbursement! Additionally, my car was advertised as getting 30-39 MPG. I havent averaged over 21 MPG in the past year and I have only 8,000 miles on my car of which 70% are highway miles. Ive tried to deal with this disparity through my dealership (Rogers Hyundai) and have tried contacting Hyundai directly with no response. There should be some compensation for such a huge difference in promised mileage.

I purchased my first brand new Hyundai Excel in 1988 and it is still on the road so I took a shot and purchased a brand new Hyundai Accent. The Hyundai Accent runs smoothly and most of all, is not a gas-guzzler. Because I still have the Excel and other vehicles, I do not drive the Accent during the winter months. What I enjoy most about the Hyundai Accent, is yes, it gets great gas mileage but it drives like a luxury vehicle with lots of speed. Colorado roads are in bad need of repair but the Accent drives over most of the unavoidable potholes with ease. The drivers seat is comfortable as well as both the front and back passenger seats. I highly recommend the Accent because it has not caused me any major problems. I keep up with the general maintenance of oil change and tire rotation. I think the makers of Hyundai are doing a great job!

Brought my out of warranty 2011 Hyundai Tucson to my local transmission repair shop for service in mid-November (you dont go to a general surgeon if you need brain surgery). Shop states a shaft is bad and they need to order one. One is ordered from the local Hyundai dealer Mid State Hyundai in Berlin VT. Parts folks state that shaft is out of production. Production to resume on 2 December. We wait for 2 December to come. Part shows up, shaft does not fit, too big. Right part number on the box, wrong shaft. Transmission shop, Mid State and Hyundai in Korea go back and forth as to what happened.Based on the VIN, part should be correct. Pictures and drawings are sent back and forth; meanwhile, I still dont have a car. Finally determine wrong part was put in box and shipped. Now have to wait until 7 January for the right part. Neither Mid State nor Hyundai will do anything to rectify this. I have been without a car for over a month; I simply want a loaner. If Hyundai had not messed up the part, I would have had my car back on the 3rd or 4th of December. This is not customer service on the part of Hyundai or Mid State.

THE WORST!! I would choose zero stars for the review if it was an option! We financed our car from Hyundai Finance in November 2019 and waited 3 months to receive our title, but we never received it. We then relocated to another state and to be able to register our car, we needed our title. So, we requested a duplicate title from Hyundai in February 2020. We still haven’t received our title because Hyundai Finance fails to address our request properly every time for TWO YEARS. We have been sending countless checks and request letters to Hyundai Finance for them to request a duplicate title from the DMV for us, but they keep saying they haven’t received any checks, even though they are all delivered. For two years now, we haven’t been able to register our car in the state we live in because of the incompetency of the Hyundai title department. There is no way to call the titles department or even send a direct email to them. We have been calling customer service for two years, asking them to send emails on our behalf to the title’s department. But still no action and no clear response!! They even sometimes hang up on me instead of addressing my concerns and requests. This is the WORST experience I’ve ever had with a company in my life!! BEWARE and stay clear of Hyundai Finance!!

My wife hit a concrete light pole base. The body damage was about 2500 dollars but the air bag light came on and white powder was in the car which meant the airbag went off but did not deploy the bag. The insurance company said, You need an airbag and any parts needed to repair it right even though it did not deploy to help stop my wife from moving forward. The car is a 2004 Sonata GLS with 66,000 miles on it as of July 5, 2014 the day of the accident. Hyundai said it is out of warranty but I said this is a device that will only work during an accident. They basically said too bad. The cost was over $3000.00 to replace the bag, seat belt and all the bells and whistles that make the bag NOT DEPLOY. The car is a total loss because of the air bag cost and why would I want to install a new bag that may or may not deploy. Hyundai recalled other year air bags like 2003 and 2006 but my 2004 is not included yet I have read many complaints of non--deploying. Do not trust air bags as a safety item and it doesnt matter what car. Use the seat belt and pray, lol. My car is a total loss but a friend wants to buy it as it has 66,000 miles on it and I am anal when it comes to doing everything the dealer wants you to do and when to do it. I will not buy another Hyundai but I do wish it would have made the recall list so if you have this problem report it to NTSD (NATIONAL TRANS SAFETY PLACE NOT SURE OF THE ACRONYM). Thats all folks. Trust no one.

Saturday, August 13th, I purchased a 2016 New Hyundai Tucson Sport from Empire Hyundai, Inc. in the Fall River, MA branch. The vehicle had 19 miles. I did a lot of research on this car, dealing with Kasey **, the internet manager of Empire Hyundai. We had a very lengthy phone call and email conversation, where she gave us the final price, everything included. My husband and I wanted the purchase to be hassle-free, considering the drive to pick up the car was 40 miles from my house round-trip. We asked Kasey to start the paperwork for us, which she gladly said yes to. She assigned us to the sales person Rob **, who then brought us to Tyler **, the vice president and financial manager to get all the paperwork signed. Within 20 minutes we were able to see the vehicle. However, before we looked inside, Rob ** informed us that there were three cigarette burns on the passenger seat, but reassured us that it would be fixed and that they would provide us with a rental car at no cost to us while they do so. My husband and I left after, and on that Monday morning I called and asked if the rental car was ready because I had to work that afternoon. When I arrived, Rob greeted me and brought me to the receptionist, who said there was no reservation for a rental car for me, so she called to get one. About fifteen minutes later, Kevin ** from Enterprise came to pick me up and bring me to their branch to get the rental. It was not brought to me. Kevin apologized that they did not have a reservation for me for a rental. The only car available due to the lack of reservation was a 7-passenger Grand Caravan. Three days passed and I did not receive any calls to inform me of the progress of my vehicle. I called once with no answer. I called once more and asked to speak to the owner, but he was not in that day. I then asked to speak to the vice president Tyler **, the son of the owner. He told me he did not know anything about the progress of my vehicle because he works for the financial department. I demanded he do something, considering he was the vice president of the company. He then transferred me to Rob, who informed me that the car was not ready yet because they had to purchase a whole new seat, and the workers had to install it.I told him I was getting impatient and displeased, considering I was forced into driving around a huge caravan, and told him if I did not get more answers on the progress of my car by 4 pm, I would consider returning the vehicle altogether. By 4:30, Rob called and said that the vehicle was ready to come pick up. I got there and looked at the car, and it was filthy, both outside and inside. I told him that the least they could have done was to wash the car after all my troubles. He told me to sit inside and wait, as he was dealing with other customers. I waited for about a half hour before I spoke to anyone else. No one would come speak with me, especially the manager, Paul **, who I had asked for. Finally, the lease specialist, Donald **, came over to me and asked if I would be happy if they cleaned the car and put gas in the tank. I thought it was quite unprofessional that that was all they could do for me after the trouble Id gone through. As I was about to leave, I asked them why the manager, Paul, was not on that night, and they informed me that he in fact was the entire time, and he did not bother to come speak to me the whole time I was waiting to talk with someone. They got Paul to come speak with me, and he offered to install a remote starter. They also said they would put covers on the front two seats. When I got the car back again, the seat covers were still in the process of being shipped, and the remote starter was not working correctly. It started by itself five times in one day in fact. Therefore, I have to bring the car to the shop to get that fixed, while still waiting for the seat covers, and on top of all of that, there is a hole in the flooring below the passenger seat; a flap that looks as though it should have been glued down.Needless to say, I had an awful experience at the Empire Hyundai car dealership and would not recommend anyone to buy a car there, especially at the Fall River branch. These situations should not be occurring when youre involving the purchase of a $31,000 vehicle, a brand new one at that. My boss, the Operations Director at 99 Restaurants, also shared with me a similar, awful experience he had had at Empire Hyundai. I hope that this will bring attention to this dealership, warning others to steer clear and pursue other dealerships when purchasing a car, and hopefully enhance the performance of the way this business is run. Thank you.

Since the purchase of 2006 Sonata, I have had to have seat belts, seat, sensors for air bags repaired due to air bag light staying on. This car has been repaired for air bag light six times under warranty and now will cost $325 for the same parts originally replaced. Average miles between repairs of air bag is less than 1 every 6,000. Once, there was less than 200 miles between fixes.Dealer states repair not covered under extended warranty. Awaiting call from Hyundai CS. If not covered, I will probably have to do without air bag system working because they obviously have a defective system and cost is too high to repair every 6,000 miles

The 2012 Hyundai Sonata is pretty and stylish inside and out. I bought the Limited Trim with all the bells and whistles. Problems: The steering began to tug to one side while the car was still under bumper-to-bumper warranty. We took the car several times to the dealership and they could not see anything wrong with the vehicle. I was told this behavior was within Hyundais specification and that it was normal for the vehicle. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that has this abnormal normalcy. This problem has not gone away. Vibration. I cannot tell you enough how irritated I have been with this vibration. Once you go over a certain speed (Im not sure at the moment, but Im not talking of highway speed - just normal in-town speed), the car begins to vibrate. Ive gone to the dealership over and over and over. I am tired and angry that a brand new 2012 car will behave this way and the people at the dealership cant figure out what the seems to be the problem. Not too long ago, my wife and I noticed that when turning the vehicle made a certain noise as if something was about to break, as if some metal was hitting another metal. The dealership said it was a steering column problem and we had to pay out of pocket to fix it since we have put over 60,000 miles on the car. The car has gone out of bumper-to-bumper warranty. The lingering problems (listed above), I have to fix out of pocket. It will take a lot, a whole lot, for me to buy a Hyundai vehicle ever again. I loved the roominess and stylishness of the Sonata, but it seems that those are about all it has. I am very disappointed in this vehicle to say the least. My 2009 Chrysler 300C never gave me these troubles.

I purchased my third Sonata, a 2012, just four months ago. I purchased my first two from a dealership near my home in Houston but my third Sonata was purchased in Baytown, Tx. After only a little over 4000 miles, this Sonata left me stranded in Austin, Texas with what I was told was a failed wheel bearing. Fortunately, the wheel did not come off and I made it to a safe area. I felt that being a loyal Hyundai consumer, that Hyundai would help to address this (now third issue) with my car. The car had to go in for service for a back brake plate rubbing against the rotor the first week of ownership.I am having great difficulty getting anyone at Hyundai or the dealership to acknowledge that this Sonata has inherent issues that would warrant replacement of the vehicle. I no longer have confidence or feel safe driving this car. I even question as to whether I might have been sold a car that was unsafe to drive. When the car was towed to the dealership in Austin for repair, they first told me that they did not know for certain what was wrong with it - only that it was something serious and I would be encouraged not to drive it even across town. Many assurances of help and complete satisfaction - and none followed though.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon in March of 2011. It currently has 60,312 miles. Whenever the car needs to shift into 2nd gear, it jumps. I have been told that I need a new transmission. Being that I am not the first owner of this car, the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Being that the mileage is so low, I feel that the transmission should have not gone out so soon. This is my first purchase of a Hyundai. Ill never buy one again. Next time Ill stick with Subaru.

In June 2011, I bought a Hyundai Elantra 3-year warranty. I was excited because it is just what I wanted. However, several problems started to occur. First, the indicator switch had to be replaced within the first 2 weeks. Second, after six months, we experienced screeching noises. I took it to a local dealer on various occasions. They replaced the break calliper and brake pads etc. but the noise still persisted. My husband said it was a release bearing but they did not agree. I took it to Johannesburg and after ten days, they agreed that it was the release bearing, which they replaced just before the warranty expired. This process took over a year. Third problem was the indicator switch was faulty again and it had to be replaced again. After the warranty expired, it had a knock in the engine, which they diagnosed as a valve lifter. We paid over R4,000 to have these replaced. The day we collected the car from the garage, there was an explosion, during which, 6 cars were burnt out, fortunately, mine was in the wash bay. There still was a noise in the engine. Two weeks later, when they had a temporary workshop, they gave me a quote for a further R15,000 for replacement of Chain Guide A & B, Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump etc. The even quoted for replacement of boot latch (very noisy boot) and still have to replace indicator switch.I am so disappointed. Everyone who I have been in contact with regarding the car has admitted that this should not be happening to a car that (at that stage) only had 60000 km on the clock, now R72750. None of the Elantra cars in Kimberley have similar problems. I spoke to a few of the owners personally. All I am asking for is a normal sounding car. I am embarrassed when people ask me why the car is so noisy, even my lady friends who do not have a clue anything about cars, are concerned.I am now waiting for them to repair the car and the parts have been ordered. They cannot carry out the repairs, as they are waiting for a part, which was shipped to SA and is taking forever. It was ordered weeks ago and their words are that it is taking so long because they have never needed to order a part of this nature before. My husband is a pensioner and does not drive like a maniac. He is a very careful driver.I am not a difficult person but I am so disillusioned. I love the Hyundai product and bought an Atos for my daughter years ago. She loves her car and never has any problems. To me, the Elantra we bought was a dud. The outside looks good but it is bad on the inside. I could write a book but am only focusing on the most important. We do not have the funds to buy a new car and we bought the car for R160,000 and the book value is now only R71,000. I implore you to attend to this complaint and not just ignore it. I am sure that if you were in my place you would feel the same. I have spoken to consumer services on numerous occasions but to no avail.

I purchased my preowned car Aug 2013 at Long Island City, NY and I must say that since day one I have had many problems with it. It all started with the wheels making a very loud noise then it escalated, and all the problems were because of recalls. I tried having the dealership exchange my car, and they refused so I ended up with a lemon car then I relocated to Ithaca, and of course my engine seized, and since I have been out here my car has been in and out of the shop. I must say they all been great but I should not continue to have problems with it. Car is paid in full and its only been six years that I have this car and my experience has been the worst. My car came out the last week Monday and I drove it back to New York City, and it didnt seized or shutdown on me but it still dont drive as it should. Smh no good! I been saying it since day one that I got stuck with a lemon car even the body is not aligned smh. Single mom always stressed that I will get stuck in the middle of nowhere with my 8 yrs old daughter. Its so wrong! What a waste of my hard earned money. Im hoping to win the lottery to buy myself a new car that I can drive and enjoy it.

My Hyundai Accent is less than two years old and has traveled only 14,000 kms. At my last service in May I advised the service center that a hole has appeared in my drivers side floor mat. I thought this was unusual due to the low kms and the fact that I mainly drive in bare feet not big boots. A claim was initiated and I was advised that it was denied as it was wear and tear. I could accept this if I had done a lot of kms in the vehicle however only 14,000 kms is not satisfactory. I have over the years owned a number of cars of various brands and travelled in excess of 200,000 kms in most with no similar problems. Is the construction of Hyundais so CHEAP AND NASTY that a carpet will wear out in such a short time. I had intended in keeping the vehicle but now think ILL REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A HYUNDAI.

Hyundai is NOT committed to the safety of its owners. Very disappointed by the total lack of concern and support for this vital component; its not like Im trying to get a free upgrade or anything... just working airbags!! I do not understand, and I will try to summarize my experience so as to save everyone the grief of reading an extensive unpleasant experience. In short, I have leased with Hyundai since I was 20 years old. I am 24 now, and this car (so am on my second lease now) is one of the biggest regret of my young adult life. For my previous leased vehicle, I was hit with a bill of nearly 5,000 dollar, which a very big chunk of that money did not apply to my actual balance since I continued to lease with them. After the proper deductions, my bill went down to about 3,600. That is fine, except that each time I called to have a number confirmed, I received a different quote. I once called literally sobbing because I had no idea what to do, in which I was “helped” by a woman that talked over me the whole time, was terrible at explaining anything to me, and told me I could “get a second job” to try to pay for my balance. Okay. I paid the money and received a voicemail (not very clear to make out what it said) saying something about my balance. I called back to try to get back to that person, had their extension and everything to confirm that they received my payment, and literally spent 20 mins on the phone with someone, intermittently getting put on hold, only to be told they could not find the extension or the balance I was speaking of. I finally have let it go and assumed that they received my payment. This is the gist of that experience. Today, I called because I am having trouble with the radio playing over the music I am streaming, so I called to get help. The lady on the phone said “we don’t help with that, I can give a number of you have anything to write down” and I said that I was driving, asked if I could get forwarded to the proper place. So she forwarded my call, and a lady answered and I could not hear or understand her at all. Finally, she spoke closer and I could hear her louder but still not well. I explained my problem, she said “yeah we don’t help with that” so I told her I was forwarded and didn’t know what to do. She literally said “thank you have a nice day” and hung up. HUNG UP. I was mid sentence and baffled and honestly, I am starting to figure things out on my own whenever I have a problem with my Hyundai vehicle, because customer service has been so incredibly unhelpful, rude, and appalling to interact with, honestly. It’s so shameful, and I am not sure if this is normal? Do other vehicle companies do this to their customers? I am planning to purchase my current vehicle so I will be with Hyundai for a long time, which sincerely fills me with dread and I am starting to feel resentful. This has been a terrible experience since the start, and I don’t call anymore to spare myself the stress of interacting with these people. I don’t even have the words. Just absolutely terrible.

Problem with 2008 Sante Fe - The fuel gauge in my vehicle has stopped registering the gasoline. I fill up vehicle and turn on engine and it registers zero fuel. Sometimes it might register 1/4 of a tank for a few minutes, then goes back to zero. The check engine light started coming on at the same time. The car was taken to Advance Auto and their register gave a number (which escapes me right now) but when we looked it up it said the fuel sensor was bad. From reading numerous complaints about the same problem, it seems the repair for this can cost anything from $300 - $700. This seems to me grossly unfair as it is obviously a defect in the equipment and should be repaired at the companys cost. Thanks for listening.

Hello, my name is Lincoln and Ive been a proud owner of a 2014 Hyundai Gene
Hello, my name is Lincoln and Ive been a proud owner of a 2014 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0t R-Spec for quite some time now. I love the car and believe the Hyundai family is amazing. Up until recently this year Ive lost all hope, high spirits, and love for the company. I towed my Genesis coupe into the dealership because I was driving one day and seen smoke coming from under the hood. When the dealer checked it out they told me the oil feed line to the turbo had a crack in it. So ultimately oil was spurring out the crack and onto the hot engine bay causing it to smoke up. My 14 Genesis coupe had about 26k on it and still has its 5 year 60k mile warranty active. The dealership look at me and told me they could not warranty the job because theres an aftermarket intake, and exhaust on it. The mechanic said the line looked as if it were touched during installation of the intake and they could not honor my warranty and charged me full price ($325.00) to replace the line. I told the service manager (Jerry) and dealer manager (Dino) I never touched touched anything under this hood. I bought the car with the parts on it and have been driving ever since. So I didnt argue and just bit the bullet and paid for the work because thats the only way I could have gotten my car back so I can get to work. This was in April of 2019. Its now June 2019 and the line cracked on me again. This time I havent even opened under the hood since the car came back from the dealer in April. I was driving in my Genesis with my FAMILY this time and the line cracked and you wouldnt believe what happened. My engine bay caught on FIRE from the same line that was cracked again spraying all over the hot metals in the engine bay. I had to hurry my wife and 6 Month Old baby out the car before anything happened to them. I was able to get a few videos after everything settled down. My Genesis is currently back at South Shore Hyundai in valley stream NY where I originally fixed the car the first time. Im livid not only at the fact that this dealership charged me to fix something I had nothing to do with but the fact that after doing my research on forums and Facebook and other social media pages that this is a common failure point on these cars and Hyundai hasnt come up with a better solution on fixing this!!! Without a question of a doubt I will be starting a legal process of lawsuit. My 6 Month old baby was in the car and this could have gone a whole different direction if I had not noticed the smoke and pulled over to check and seen the car was near to blazing a fire. I have already notified all my family and friends who has a Hyundai (quite a few) that Hyundai isnt as reliable as we thought and their service especially at South Shore Hyundai is far from acceptable. Were all now looking to just go back to Mazda, whos been really good to us over the years. Only reason I left Mazda is because Hyundai had a really hot 2 door sports car that was just a pleasure to look at, but as we can see here everything that glitters aint gold!

2013 Hyundai Veloster: I felt compelled to submit this review because of a recent experience Ive had with the brand that has left a bad taste in my mouth, and in the interest of transparency, should be shared so this doesnt happen to another consumer. In 2012 my parents were looking to buy me a car as a graduation gift (in cash), and we looked at Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Ford. At the time Hyundai was heavily marketing the 10-year warranty, so we decided to look into purchasing a Hyundai, as this was a major differentiator and benefit from the other brands. My parents ended up working w/ a local dealer in Maryland, who helped locate and purchase an Veloster for me. The entire time, the dealer was aware that the car was being purchased for me. Since it was a gift, I was not at the dealer at the time of sale, and my mother put her name on the title (this is an important detail for later). It was never stipulated that only having her name (and not mine) could be a potential issue, as she was NOT purchasing the car for herself.Flash forward 6 years and I move to the west coast. Right after moving my car, I get it registered in California and transfer the title from my mother so I can pay my own insurance. Dec17 at 55k miles Im hearing a horrendous screech coming out of my wheels, and I find out its a defective wheel bearing (should last 100k). At the dealer they dont mention that this would be covered under my 10-year warranty, because my warranty expired at 50k. This sets off major red flags, as the front wheel bearings are part of drive train, and should be covered under the 10-year/100k mile warranty - I know something isnt right.I call corporate (1st time) and find out that the warranty on my car was just invalidated when I transferred the title, because I moved the car title under my name i/o leaving it under my mothers, which immediately invalidated the 10 year warranty (Ive had this car for 6 years/55k miles). This is a major stipulation that was not presented at the dealer when the car was being sold to my parents (this car was purchased solely for that warranty), so I call the dealer to discuss this issue as it originated w/ them, and they refer me back to corporate. I call corporate again (2nd time) and end up talking to a customer rep who was incredibly condescending and rude, challenging why I would be questioning my warranty (because my car is having issues that should be covered), etc., and was just generally nasty the entire time.I finally ask to talk to his manager, who he says will call within 24-48 hours - wont give me a name or a time (no one ever calls - I hope this conversation was recorded). I call the dealer (2nd time) and explain that corporate is not at all standing behind this, and that the dealer needs to get involved since their salespeople sold the car, and theyre the originators of this issues. Long-short, theyre doing their best to defer and stay uninvolved, saying that theyre not responsible for anything at the time of sale involving warranty. In a situation like this, a brand that stands behind what they market, and a brand that supports and values their customers would simply HONOR THE TERMS the car was marketed and sold as, and move on. Instead, what Ive found is a brand that seizes on the opportunity to shirk away from what was promised at first opportunity, both at corporate as well as at the dealer.I hadnt had an issue with Hyundai before this, but this entire experience has left a terrible mark on the brand for me. In a lifetime youll buy on average 5 cars, and I can confidently say it will never be a Hyundai again, and I recommend no one else does. Dont be duped by the marketing of a 10-year warranty - it sounds too good to be true, and it is. I regret not buying the Jeep.

I have a 2009 Santa Fe with 40,000 miles. While driving 8 hours in the rain on a road trip, the paint started flying off my hood and roof in huge chunks. I have never had an accident or a chip in the paint. The repair shop called to report they are having problems fixing the original paint loss because more keeps coming off. Now it looks like a complete new paint job will be required. Hyundai says the warranty is up at 35,000 miles for paint. The paint job is obviously defective from the factory; however my attempt to file a claim with Hyundai led nowhere. Picture is from before it went to the shop and more paint came off the roof, hood and doors.

I purchased a Fluidic white car from Mody Hyundai (Malad W) in Mumbai, India. It was delivered to me on Sept. 7th, 2011. My car registration no. is **. I drove my car the 1st time on Sept. 10th when the car broke down at 3 in the morning. The gears refused to change. It would not change to any of the gears and the car stopped. I waited for 45 minutes on the road and finally I could drive my car. My car again broke down on Sept. 17th. This was the 2nd time I drove my car. The same problem persisted. The gears were not changing. I called the Hyundai guys and they insulted me when I went to their off in Malad West. They said that maybe I was changing the gears by pressing half clutch. My car broke down the 3rd time on Oct. 8th when I went to hotel Sea Princess. The valet guys said that the car refused to start. They pushed started the car and I got my car home. I finally called the toll free number for Hyundai on 25th. They took my car to their service station (Mody Hyundai) at Goregaon W. Even the Hyundai guys could not start my car. Nobody bothered to call me and update with the status of the car. I kept calling the Hyundai sales people. Finally, they called me on 11th and said that there was a problem with the starter motor, which they will replace. I kept telling them that there was a problem with the gear box but they did not listen. They, I again called on 12th. This time, they confirmed that there was a problem with the gears too and they would replace it. Hyundai got my car on 13th with a scratch on the front. This time, they blamed me saying that the scratch was on the car when I was driving. I refused to take my car and told them that I will accept it only if they remove the scratch. It has been a very embarrassing situation for me when my car broke down thrice in the middle of the night and once at a 5 star hotel. I requested the Hyundai guys to replace the car, as I had not even driven the car for 100 kms. and I faced so many problems. However, they refused saying that since it is under warranty, they will replace the parts and give my car back.Since I stay alone in Mumbai and work at night, it is very risky for me to drive a faulty car which breaks down every now and then. I request you to help me get my car replaced from the Hyundai people as this is bad customer service.

My wife brought our 2008 Hyundai Sonata to the dealer for the annual vehicle State inspection on Monday, January 30, 2012. We purchased this vehicle new at this dealer, and it now has only 30,000 miles. The vehicle failed the inspection due to defective brake lining (brake pads) on both the left and right rear brakes. My inspection, the following day, confirmed that indeed the rear brake pads were almost non-existent while the front pads showed hardly any wear.I have owned many cars in my lifetime and put over 100K miles on many. I have only replaced brakes four times in all these years, but I never on a vehicle with only 30,000 miles. Suspecting a manufacturers defect, I searched the internet for other complaints about the Hyundai rear brakes and found numerous forums on the subject, leading me to agree with the conclusions of others that this is a manufacturers defect and a recall should be issued. I found 29 similar complaints on NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation. To my knowledge, Hyundai is ignoring this obvious safety issue as well as the cost to consumers for repairs that should be unnecessary for low-mileage cars such as ours.I am hoping enough pressure can be brought to bear on Hyundai to issue a recall. I have filed a complaint with NHTSA-ODI, contacted our State Attorney Generals Office, and complained to Hyundais consumer support department.

Don’t Buy it and waste your time and money! I lease Hyundai Tucson on December 2018. The car was running perfect for 3 months. The start showing same problem over and over, the problem is happened often but in not continuous manner. The problem is:1. If the car off, once you insert the key in ignition, the key stuck and not turn the car on. After 15 to 30 minutes the car back to normal.2. If the car on ... suddenly the maintenance light, the turned on, the AC turned off, the front left signal off, the engine overheated and when you turn the car off the key stuck in ignition. The issue continue happened almost once a week for 30 minutes and then disappeared and back running normal. I took one of my vacation day and took it to the dealer. I explained the issue in detail, he said as far as the issue not continues he can diagnose it.“People who create car cannot identify issue and leave you with possibility to stuck in the middle of nowhere of that issue happened ... funny right”. Every time the issue happening I called hyundai to come pick up the car and find out what’s going out and give me a loaner car since my work required a car all time —- customer service, case manager reject my request. Last time the issue cont. so I called the road side assistance. They took it to the dealer. The car was in repair for three days. Hyundai did not give me a loaner car and they offer the max reimbursement for rental car $38/day... that offer after I had a case # with them and two days after I was without car ... in NYC is impossible. The min car rental is $60/day in NYC and that for smaller car than the Tucson. The dealer claim that he fix it by replacing the ignition. 30 minutes after I pick the car up and on my way back the issue is happened again for 30 mins... Again back to same hyundai concept cannot identify their car issued .... funny. That would be the last car I buy or lease from hyundai. Except if you wanna ride a car with a fancy shape but 20 yrs old keep showing problems.

Briefly, after I got in my car and closed my door, it didnt latch well. I had been having problems with it lately. So while I was moving, I opened and then closed it again but while I was closing it, the lock mechanism engaged and as it was about to latch and lock, it bounced back open. So I quickly reached for it to grab it as a vehicle was approaching. I was in a parking lot at the time traveling at about 15mph. It had swung open so far that when I reached for it, my momentum shifted in such a way that I actually fell out of the car landing on the pavement. I was traveling at about 15mph. My car struck a parked vehicle. Damage to it was minimal. Damage to mine was significant. No pedestrians were struck, but I sustained a neck injury.

I went to pick up my car from the Hyundai service centre. My car was left parked in reverse no Ebreak (manual transmission). I clutched in to start the car, being used to park in neutral I clutched out to go scrape my windows while the car warmed, but my car flew backwards and smashed into a new car on the lot. And I was told that only 65% of the total repair cost will be covered by the Hyundai and remaining 35% has to be paid by me [35% is costing me 3800$]. My question to hyundai is. If theres a manufacturing issue, then its companys responsibility to get it repaired free of cost. Why Im getting charged for it. Nobody is able to give an exact answer for this.

I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson in 2018. I was under the impression had a 100000 mile warranty! In June 2020 I had to take car to have 3 door latches replaced because doors would not open! On November 17, 2020 my daughter was driving my vehicle and was at my brothers house and when she was backing out car stalled. She tried to crank it but had to have help pushing back in my brothers driveway. Had the vehicle towed to my house. My uncle who is a mechanic came to my house the next day and when my husband cranked the vehicle he said the motor was gone! On November 21, 2020 I had vehicle towed to dealership because Hyundai has had issues with their motors and I wasn’t sure if that was what was wrong with mine. They did find that it was bearing rod! I’ve read numerous reviews where Hyundai has had issues with the bearing rod!! Hyundai warranty said I only had a 5 yr 60000 mile warranty because I was the second owner. I did not know I only had a 60000 mile warranty! Hyundai dealership wanted to charge 12000.00 to replace the motor! They tried to screw me over there and of course Hyundai warranty is not going to replace it on a vehicle that is only worth 12000.00 to 16000.00. This has been the worst vehicle I have ever purchased!! My mistake for being unaware of all the issues with Hyundai or I wouldn’t have purchased it then. I would never ever recommend Hyundai to anyone! Worst vehicle ever!!

I stumbled upon this website when reading about tires, and was surprised to see virtually every car company with such horrendous reviews. Then I realized its merely a sounding board for angry people with car troubles. I just wanted to share a little about my little 2013 Elantra GT. I bought it new, have done all maintenance in my garage, have used nothing but full synthetic oil and Hyundai brand parts (filters, etc to avoid warranty issues), and in return? Its been hands down the best car Ive ever owned. Nothing has failed in the first 3 years, 40,000 miles. No car Ive ever owned has accomplished that. It rides like its brand new, no squeaks, no rattles, no nothing. Comfortable as can be, averages 32 in the city, 36 on the highway. Ive owned many compacts in my life, none have come even close to this level of ride quality. Simply put, we love the car. Its our first Hyundai, and we would buy another in a heartbeat. And basically, this is merely a message to take everything you read online with a grain of salt. Including my review. Occasionally, youre going to get a car thats awful. I had one. 2012 Impala, kept it 9 months. It went back to the garage under warranty 11 times in those 9 months. Eventually, you just have to make a judgment call. Do you keep a car thats been nothing but problems? Or do you try something else. We now own a Hyundai and a Nissan and have been thrilled with them. Will I ever buy another Chevrolet? Sure! I just got a lemon. It happens. It totally stinks, but it happens.

The headliner was damaged during a replacement of the sunglass holder recall. It has never been correct since. At approx. 54k, the engine failed and Hyundai replaced with an inferior short block vs. a long block engine, the rear seal was defective and had to be replaced, the engine protector plate fell off less than two weeks later. I have never felt safe in this car and sure enough 3 days ago, after going over NO huge bumps or hitting any pot holes, I came outside and the first 1.5 inches of the wheel bearing assembly was laying on the ground by the wheel. The tow truck driver said they overtorqued something when they replaced the engine. Not only will I never purchase another Hyundai, but I will recommend no one does either. Major problems from the start. Gear shift stopped working- froze in park- covered by recall. Steering column locked and had to replace. Our expense. Electrical issues - brake lights would not turn off. Now the engine failed. Burns oil and rod knock with no warning. No oil light ever came on. Told by dealer we need a new engine - was told problem is because we did not change oil regularly. Hyundai refuses to cover because I cannot produce every oil/filter receipt (sometimes had private oil change). They said it would cost $5-7000 to replace. Had it towed home and we are trying to decide what to do. Found out online there is an investigation into class action suit for engine failure by Chimicles & Tikellis. Almost 13 days are over still I didnt get any clear information about this issue (Initially the team said battery issue, then self start motor may issue and finally ECM). The recall did not solve the problem and all my complains regarding the transmission was denied by Hyundai dealers. I purchased a 2011 Hyundai i20 in May this year. Ever since I purchased the car, I had to send the car back in to Hyundai after a week to get a new clutch master cylinder. A month after, I took the car into Hyundai as the accelerator on the car was getting stuck and jolty (not normal or safe). Hyundai replaced this for me. But after 2 months, the problems started again. I took the car back to Hyundai. I advised them of the occurring problems with the car and Hyundai just lubricated the accelerator. While Hyundai had my car, I took the time to re-test drive another Hyundai i2o from the dealership in Roseville. I explained to the dealership the problems I have with my car. When we took this other Hyundai i20 for a drive, I straight away noticed that the drive of the car was better and smoother. Plus, the whole clutch and accelerator on this car was perfect. When I called the Hyundai head office to advise them of all the problems I have had with my car and the massive difference I felt in the drive of the test drive car, Hyundai advised that they couldn’t do anything about my car. But they told me to keep sending it back to Hyundai each time the same problem occurs. This is not good enough answer. I don’t feel safe driving a car that keeps having the same problems over and over again. I think Hyundai should be replacing my car or should refund me the cost of the car. I would buy a car through a different car company that is reliable. I never expected to have a brand new car with this much problems. Now my car is making tapping noises from the motor. I don’t know what else to do. This car is stressing me out. I can’t keep sending this car back each time this happens. My previous 1979 Chrysler Sigma, which is 31 years old, never had problem like this. The only thing I ever had to replace on that car was a set of brake pads. Please help me. Thanks.

Took it to the mechanic and they said it was something with the oil pump. They cleaned it, did an oil change, light went off. Next day, light came back on. Took it back, they replaced the part and when they took it for a test drive, the engine began seizing up. They told me it needed a new engine. Had it towed to dealership. They also said it needed a new engine. They told me that since it was over warranty, there would be no coverage. They informed me that the goodwill warranty determination would have to come from Hyundai manufacturing. Hyundai manufacturing told me it was determined by the dealership. When I called head office to complain and to get an explanation on why my car would be out of alignment after only 23000km they could give me no reason and had no interest in solving this issue. They did not offer to call the dealership and ask the techs any questions and did nothing more than log the complaint. The exact sane parts coming from Thailand at another place is $90 out the door, including shipping AND you receive at your door the very next day. These people are greedy and worthless. Their products stink! Their service sinks! Their greed is obvious! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

I purchased a new 2005 Hyundai Elantra GLS in 2005. I also purchased the Hyundai factory extended warranty which covers most of the parts and systems for 10 Years or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first. In the past, I have been very impressed with the customer service and support of Hyundai owners by Hyundai Motor America. However, their new CEO is apparently abandoning the policy of supporting their customers and their good will. Just after the car passed the 100,000 mile mark, the cars thermostat worth around $13 stuck and the radiator was fried. There were no warning lights to alert me to stop driving the car as it was overheating. My Hyundai dealer wanted almost $1,000 to replace the thermostat and radiator. I almost fainted. I called other Hyundai dealers and they told me they heard of this occurring on other Hyundais the same year and model as mine. I called Hyundais customer connection line. After reviewing the case, they refuse to offer any relief. I also noticed that in the customer satisfaction surveys, Hyundai formerly sent their customers after service was done on their car to ensure dealers were doing a good job have ceased. No wonder Hyundai has dropped off the list of Americas 10 Best Selling Cars in 2011 and only has about a 5% share of the US auto market. Taking their valued customers for granted will most likely cost Hyundai dearly in customer loyalty and repeat business.

My wifes 2006 Sonato airbag light went off. We took it in and the dealer stated the seatbelt connector was defected. Even though we had an extended warranty, my wife had to pay to have it fixed. Just about a year after, the airbag light went off again and now the dealership will not cover its parts. The dealership said the part is now out of warranty and we would have to re-buy the belt. The belt works fine, but the light will not go off.

I purchased a 2020 Kona. I am sure you have all read the reviews. They are true. Car has been drinking oil and I have spent over a year begging Hyundai to help. No luck. Got lied to and now cant get compensation through corporate. They actually expect me to keep driving the car and bringing it back and forth to a dealership. No, I am not a Karen, however I have dumped over 40 quarts of oil into it, spent over a year at various dealerships and even had to hire my own mechanic to tell me there really was a HUGE issue and I was being played. Now, I am down to pretty much not having a vehicle and BEGGING Hyundai to just take their car back and set me free of this in a fair deal that does not leave me broke and with nothing to drive.

I was quoted a finance rate at $3,000 over the posted sticker price. I was given ridiculous numbers and quoted an incorrect credit score. I was taunted on my way out the door by a sales person named Ryan, saying he hoped my next car purchase ended up on the side of the road. This was witnessed by my sister and every other customer in the show room. I’m buying a new Toyota right next door.

I am pleased to inform I am a principal. I am Bharathiraja, **. I purchased a new i10 Era on 31.12.2013 at Pudukkottai Arasu Hyundai. Within two weeks, my car battery problem. I checked in a private battery center, they certified that cell weak, so replace the battery. I informed to service center. They said battery is ok but I am not satisfied. Replace and give new battery. But they did not change, they gave old battery again. I tested again, the same problem appeared. This is not good manner to treat a customer. I feel that I would have gone for some other car company. Please take necessary steps to solve my problem.

My 2008 Hyundai Veracruz with roughly 60,000 miles on it has been at the dealership for two weeks not running. There is damage to the engine and excessive sludge build up which has also damage parts around the engine. I was told that the work is not covered under warranty because it is due to lack of maintenance. I was able to produce receipts that proved I get scheduled oil changes on my car and passed on this information to the dealership. I then called Hyundai North America and filed a complaint and requested to have this work covered under the warranty since it happened from no fault of my own. It has now been two weeks and a Hyundai North America regional manager has failed to reach out to me and contact me in regards to this. I call and email and still have no answers as to what is going on with my car. I have just received a phone call from the dealership that they received an email and that Hyundai will not cover the engine damage because they still find it happened due to lack of maintenance. Nobody from Hyundai North America has reached out to me to discuss these findings. This is the second Hyundai I purchased because I was sold on Americas Best Warranty. This could not be less accurate. The customer service has been below par and the fact that they will not stand behind the warranty and fix what is broken is worse. I will never purchase a Hyundai vehicle again and I ask you to take my experience into consideration before you do. I understand that there is no guarantee that nothing will last forever and I accept that, I can deal with that. The customer service from Hyundai is what is completely dissatisfying and unacceptable.

Failure to live up to warranty - The ESC light comes on and the car goes into a limp mode? It vibrates and wont accelerate. Five failures in the past 30 days. The general manager now tells me the car is fine, but he cant say what theyve repaired. Meanwhile, Hyundai Consumer Assistance 800-633-5151 gave me a case number and then advised me that they shipped the case to their regional office but cant give me the telephone number. The regional office was to call me last week and then this week, no calls. Some warranty!

DO NOT BUY A PALISADE!!! We’ve had our Palisade for four months. We love the features and ride but had it back to the dealership five times because of excessive winds noise at highway speeds (> 50 mph) noticeable in the front seats. The dealership pressure tested the cabin, replaced door seals, and checked door alignment. Finally, they removed the side view mirrors and determined the whistling sound is wind turbulence from the mirrors after a test drive. The dealership has been great but Hyundai refuses to acknowledge the issue. We opened a case with Hyundai but their case manager said there is no design flaws so there is nothing they can do. I just want a brand new $50K vehicle to act like a $50K vehicle. DO NOT BUY A PALISADE!!!

I wouldnt be writing this if I could have resolved my issue with the dealership or the district manager, but I have been given excuses that came with delaysand ultimately a denial to repair my engine after a complete failure with about 70,000 miles on the vehicle because they saw sludge in my engine. In the spring of 2010, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I am the original owner. I had been so pleased with my car that I actually convinced a friend and my sister to also buy a new Hyundai. After my engine failure on April 5, 2011, I had my Sonata towed to Glendora Hyundai in California. Today, I was informed that my repair has been denied because they found sludge in the engine. I did provide all my maintenance records but it seems that is not good enough to use my 100,000 mile warranty. It took the dealership 18 days to tell me that my repair has been denied. Of course during this time, I have been renting a car since I was also told that no loaner would be provided while they tried to resolve what to do. According to them, the decision was not to repair the car was also agreed to by the Hyundai district manager. So much for the 100,000 mile warranty that they keep touting. Dont believe it. It seems they might have covered it had all the maintenance been done at the dealership. My advice is dont buy a Hyundai. They wont honor the warranty if you have a problem.

The dealer tried to say that the roof was hit by an object. Im waiting for Hyundai to do the right thing. The car is still under warranty. I hope that I dont have to ride around a long time with sun roof broken and raining in my car. I have no garage.

The car is extremely quiet in the cabin because the gas engine turns off when approaching stops. All waiting at lights is done with practically no sound except the climate control system. After approximately 3000 miles, I began hearing a knocking, clunking sound during braking. It became worse and worse until you could count 5 to 8 knocks as you approached stops.During the 5,000 mile service, I reported this and the Hybrid Technician rode with me in the car and easily heard the noise. He correctly stated, the sound seems to be coming from the firewall behind the steering wheel. There was an identical 2016 Sonata Hybrid on the lot. Same options only a different color. We could not this car to make the noise. An appointment was scheduled to look at this. The brakes were bled and the technician admitted the problem was better but not resolved. Indeed, the sound was better for about 200 miles then the issue returned as before. Only worse. Another appointment was scheduled. This time the brake fluid was removed, something was filtered??? And fluid replaced and bled. This totally removed the issue for another 200 to 300 miles and then the noise slowly returned. Another appointment was scheduled. This time I was told to leave the car and loaner would be given to me. Instead, when I arrived, I was told I would only have to wait 30 min and then take the car. I was told the brakes had been adjusted and the car was safe. No change or resolution at all.I called Hyundai USA only to get an attitude from ** about why I would complain about such a small matter. The brakes were safe and I should expect a car with 10,000 miles to perform like the Silver Sonata Hybrid on the lot with less than 50 miles. Im not making this up. I asked ** to connect me to her boss. She refused saying, Id have to talk to her. I said I wanted to speak to her boss. She replied, He was in a meeting. I asked her to leave him a message and call me back. That was weeks ago. NO CALL BACK. At this point, I began pulling out the Lemon Law booklet and left a few pissed off messages to the service manager in Sport Durst Hyundai in Durham. This prompted a return call stating that in the previous visit nothing had been done to the car but a regional parts and service manager was in town and wanted to ride in the car.So I went back for a 4th time. Four of us climbed into the car. ** The technician, ** (Hyundais regional manager), ** (Sport Durst service manager), and I drove. It was not difficult to create the sound by feathering the brake pedal. The real noise, however, happens when the car is in start and stop driving. When its hot. They had a remote part microphone, when was turned on indicating the noise was coming from the Hydraulic Brake Actuator.Okay. The part makes this noise. For the first 3,000 miles I never heard the noise and you still cant hear it in the new Silver Sonata Hybrid which was on the lot. My response was, I dont care what kind of noise a part makes in the engine compartment, I dont want to hear this in the cabin every time I put on the brakes. The regional service manager then stated that for CUSTOMER SATISFACTION the part would be replaced. The part could have been replaced 6 weeks earlier when I brought it in, but Hyundai in California refused to authorize this replacement.Ive never owned a car even from the 70s and 80s that made such a noise when applying the brakes. This condition is beyond unacceptable. So today, I get the new part. Im almost certain that within the next 3000 to 4000 miles the noise will return as before. Im also confident that hundreds of 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid owners in the next 6 months are going to be bringing in their cars with brake noise complaints. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to remove and replace this actuators.

I purchased my Hyundai Tucson when I lived in MA. I moved to NH a few months ago and now need to register my car there. I went to the DMV, filed the necessary paperwork, and the state sent this request in, as that is their process. This was in mid February. I received a phone call on March 14th from a representative from Hyundai that they needed me to call them back to confirm my new address. I called them back that evening. I gave them my account number and my new address. I was told that was all they needed and they could now start the process. I contacted the state of NH on March 21st to see if they received the title yet, and they said they had not, and they suggested that I call Hyundai to get an update.I called them that same day and I was told that the note in the system said they were waiting for me to call them back, which made no sense because I had done just that a week ago. I was also told that they could not give me any updates because thats what the note in the system says and if I call and speak to someone else, they will tell me the same thing. I waited two days and called back for an update. I got the same response and this time, I was told that the state of MA was holding things up because the title is an electronic title.Well, I had my insurance agent then contact the state of MA once I received that update and the state told her that Hyundai never sent in the request. So, of course, at this point I am livid. I called Hyundai back again and I was once again told about the note in the computer, even though at this point I had called 3 or 4 times. This new person that I spoke to now tells me that what is causing the issue is that the state of NH sent in the paperwork that I signed, instead of me sending it in. What?!It has now been 6 weeks and I am told that it could be another four weeks due to the process at Hyundai. I am outraged at this. The process should have been kicked off on March 14th when I called back with the information they were requesting. I dont understand how here it is April 3rd and they still havent even sent in the request to MA for the electronic title? Its really a simple matter. NH just needs the title so they can turn it into a NH title because that’s where I live now. I moved with my fiancé. He filed his paperwork the same day as me, the state sent it to his lien holder same day, and he was l set as of March 21st. His lien holder didnt give him any problems. They just processed the request as they should have.As soon as this is resolved, I am refinancing my loan with my fiancé’s lien holder. I am very unhappy with Hyundai Motor Finance and I would never recommend them to anyone. They have lost my business for sure.

This time, a week while the tech talked with the company tech because they didnt know what was wrong, decided to replace the fuel pump again but mentioned it had two fuel pumps. My check engine light came on for the 2nd time in 2 & 1/2 months. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was not covered under my extended warranty, which make no sense to me. I bought a used Hyundai Sonata 2011 in Oct. 2011. The previous owner had around 25,000 miles on it. I have changed the oil and also the brakes on the car since I have purchased it. It was running well with no problems (no indicator lights or warning lights ever came on), and of course there was no noise, just running as usual. I have put around 16,500 miles on it and no problem. On Dec. 22, 2012, it just wouldnt turn on, so I thought it was my battery. We asked for a boost but it still didnt work. I called Hyundai and stated they would get it towed in. That was on Dec. 24th. The tow company decided to give it a boost first to see if he could get it started but he also said the battery was too drained. I waited for a call from the mechanic and on Dec.26th, I was told he needed my authorization to change out the battery that it was no good. I asked if it was covered under my warranty with Hyundai or even the extended warranty I got. He stated no. So, I said replace it. The following day, I called for my car to get picked up and he states he needed to talk to me and said my car still didnt start and I would need a new engine due to no oil in the engine. He told me that the car looked like it had never been maintained, not once ever. I told him I did, but I didnt have the receipts to prove the oil changes. So he told the Hyundai Company that he denied the coverage due to neglect on the car. And I told him I also have an extended warranty which I told him to call. He didnt. I had too.I called a day later since he never called back to let me know anything. He stated my extended warranty wouldnt cover it either and I asked why. He stated it was because he denied the warranty due to neglect of the car. It’s funny when no lights or noises occurred without any indication that there could be something wrong, and all the extra coverage I got to avoid any problems. He states the problem could as well have been there from the previous owner and my bad luck I got stuck with it.
