For all you women haters of the Kia television commercials that think Kia is sexist, the Mr. Sandman commercial to be exact, unless you ever had a penis, you arent going to get it. Its a man thing. Go with the flow. You dont see us men whining and complaining about all of the feminine hygiene products that bombard us during our television time. Theyre just gross and disgusting. Yeah, you bleed, yeah, you stink. Deal with it. Men are breeders. We eat, sleep and think sex. I guarantee that if your physical looks were like the bikini clad models that auditioned and were paid to be in those commercials, you will be standing in line with the rest of them.
We are writing this because of an incident that we had on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Valencia, CA Kia dealership (a.k.a. CA superstores KIA). During our visit, weve had a very difficult situation and inappropriate matter with one of the sales managers, Raldo **. At the beginning of purchase transaction (after weve mentioned about the final quote that the dealership agreed on), Raldo ** started yelling with anger and stomped out on us. Offensively, he doubted us about the price that the dealership gave us. This made us very uncomfortable and it was extremely rude behavior. We couldnt find any reasons of Raldo **s attitude. Weve never had such an unpleasant experience and being insulted before.Later, he came back and weve tried to tell him that we didnt appreciate his demeanor. However, he totally ignored us and walked away again for the second time without any apologies. It seems like his main focus was on something else, not selling a car. Weve requested his business card, but he refused to give it out and told us that he doesnt have it. Therefore, we are doubting his qualification as a sales manager. Absolutely, we found zero customer skills and business ethic from this person. We werent expecting a top service, but at least he didnt need to be rude. Based on todays bad experience, we believed that we are not the first and only customer who have received this type of treatment. Weve lost our time and effort.Unfortunately, we could not purchase the vehicle because of the above incident with Raldo **. We are very disappointed and will not recommend to any friends and/or family members about this Kia dealership and his service. Finally, we strongly not recommend this person to any future Kia customers.
I brought my used 2007 Kia Optima in June 2011. A few months later, the red air bag light on the drivers side start coming on. It stayed on. In April 2012, I thought my problem was solved when I received a recall letter about the air bag. The dealer stated that he fixed the problem but the red light is still on. He stated that there was another problem with the passenger side air bags. I did notice that side too. I will not pass car inspection in June if the light is still on. To fix the problem, it would cost $1,000.00 to replace the seat because Kia hasn’t recalled this air bag.
2013 Kia Optima Hybrid - I have taken my vehicle to the Alhambra dealer 4 times due to a clicking noise on the brake and accelerator every time I would come to a light or a stop. The first 2 times they would fix it and then the noise would come back in a few days. The third time they did not find any noise which is irritating because I would hear every single day. The fourth time I went on a ride along with a mechanic and he clearly heard the noise so they had me waiting there for 4 hours till they told me I had to leave the car for further inspection. The vehicle was left at the dealer on 3-14-2018.As of today I still do not have my vehicle and they did not offer a rental or anything, I have been getting rides to work and back home and neither did they give me a date to pick up my vehicle. I call on a daily basis for an update and they just keep giving me the runaround and the majority of the time they do not return my calls when I leave voicemails, I also opened a case with KIA and the supervisor that has my case does not return my calls or emails either. I have never ever experience this kind of problem with any vehicle or any dealership. I am still under warranty with them but with no help on their behalf. This is really frustrating.
2016 Kia Sorento - I purchased new and have less than 5000 miles. The rear lift gate opens randomly. Press unlock, up comes the gate. Car unlocked? Open door and up comes the gate. Took it to the dealer and problem would not replicate. Anyone else have this issue?
Kia has a great warranty. I am 6 ft 4 in tall and can wear a hat while driving it. It is not great on comfort, but for the price is one great value; I think it is the best car for those who need dependable transportation for a value. Retired folks, because it is easy to get into and back out of. Most cars you either slide down into them or climb up to get in.
What started out as a seemingly annoying problem went from bad to worse. The fan on my heater/air conditioner wouldnt turn off. I immediately called Kia and was told not a problem - bring it in and they will take care of it - earliest appointment was almost 2 weeks. THEN, about 8 days later the idiot lights related to the fan started flashing. Called again, not a problem - probably set off a sensor due to the fan running. THEN, while driving on the freeway, all the dashboard lights related to speed, mileage, gas level... went OUT along with the headlights. Called immediately and was told I could drop it off but they didnt have any loaners so it was decided I would bring it in the next day. When I came in, I was told I would be charged $102 for a diagnostic test - since it had to be done I agreed. After waiting 3 hours they said they couldnt find the problem so I got a RENTAL for $35 a day. After waiting all day to hear something, I got a call - still no resolution and it would cost me AT LEAST another couple of hundred to continue to locate the problem. NO CHOICE!!! I had to agree - I needed my car back. So today I get a call - the wiring harness which controls everything frayed and melted!!! And SURPRISE, its not covered. How the heck is that not a problem with the product??? So, now I have to pay over $1000 to get it fixed. UNFREAKING BELIEVABLE!!! BUYER BEWARE.
2011 Optima - We purchased this vehicle brand new 20 months ago at Big Red in Norman. No problems until approx. Jan/Feb, the engine started making bad noises. I took it to Big Red service dept. They treated us like we were idiots and they didnt hear anything. I took it back as it progressively got worse, only to be told they didnt know what the noise was but they could not fix it and sent us away. We traveled to Bob Howard Kia in Edmond, OK and wasted two weekends only to be sent away and told we never changed the oil! Its ridiculously disrespectful to us to assume we didnt take care of this brand new vehicle! We each have brand new cars and trucks in this family and each one of us care 100% for each vehicle. On time oil changes, all maintenance, etc! Finally, service manager, Todd **, said, Prove you did oil changes! Bring receipts! We spent a full week collecting as many receipts as humanly possibly! I drove back to Kia Edmond to show to service manager, Todd **, only to be told after another wasted day of waiting and given the runaround, at last he said, Oh but they didnt use Kia filters. Sorry, now I cannot help you! Nowhere does any document you sign buying a brand new car does it indicate you have to use a Kia filter only! This service manager was making things up as he went along to us! Very upset. Now, the car cannot even be driven! We need help ASAP or comments on what to do now? I contacted every single Oklahoma State Organization I could think of and Kia Edmond online several times and still not one phone call or email. Sad, sad, sad to drive a 10-year warranty vehicle along with extended warranty only to be turned down or totally ignored at every turn.
My car, a 2009 Kia Rondo, had the right front wheel bearing go out at 69114 miles. It was replaced. I just had the left front wheel bearing replaced at 75977 miles. I have a problem with this because these should not have been a problem at this low mileage. I feel, as a safety issue, that Kia should repair the back ones also since the bearings were probably installed poorly to begin with. They wont do it.
The car has had a lot of issues. Ive had to replace a lot of parts on it. The car is cheap. The frame is cheap. The parts are cheap but I dont like a car that breaks all the time. I appreciate it more when my car is more convenient not a car from Korea where the parts have to be specially ordered and waited for. The Kia Spectra 2007 handles well though in spite of its flaws. It is small and practical. I like the 4 doors. I like the fact that the seats are cloth and not leather so I dont get burned every time I sit down after a long hot day of the car just sitting in the sun. But I wish I would have done more research before buying this car.
My wife and I bought a used 2012 Kia Sorento in Sept. 2015 with a 2.4 liter and a GDI engine. Well this past sunday Oct. 2nd 2016 the Sorento was making loud metal noises in the engine and while driving it stalled. I pulled over and sat for a little while and started it up again and drove it to my inlaws. The next day oct. 3rd I drove it to Kia Horne here in Gilbert AZ. They looked at it and told me that there is a LOT of slug it the engine and metal noise in the lower part of the engine. They told me that it was able to be fixed and I would have to spend 6900 for a new used engine. The next day I told Kia Horne that I would produce the oil change documents for the past year. I was able to get 4 receipts but not the 5th one even though I knew I had received 5 oil changes within the past year. Well its been a week and my extended 100,000 mile warranty will not cover the repairs also because of the slug. The Sorento is at 85,000 mile at this moment. I found that there is a lawsuit against Kia for producing engine that were manufactured wrong and still sold knowing this. The Claim states that the Theta 2 liter and the 2.4 liter GDI engines contains defects that cause a restriction of oil flow through the connecting rod bearings and other parts of the engine. The claim also states that the defect causes stalling and complete engine failure at any time, including while driving, making the problem a serious safety hazard. The lawsuit claims not only did Kia conceal that the engines are prone to failure, but the automaker concealed the defect from consumers to keep selling the vehicles. The reason why I am leaving this information/review is to see what more can I do to get my car fixed by Kia and or join the lawsuit or start my own in Gilbert AZ.
I own a 2012 Kia Soul and as Ive read previously in a Sorento post, my engine also went out. I was on the interstate with my grandson going about 75 mph when I heard a loud knock, my dashboard lights all flickered like Christmas lights, and my car stalled. Luckily, I was able to pull over from the fast lane to the side of the road. Kia has had my car for 3 weeks. The dealership and I have called headquarters multiple times with no response from my case manager. No one has provided me with a rental car. I have to pay for a rental out of my own pocket. I dont see my make or model on the recall list but I obviously have the same engine issue as the other Kias. My car barely has 100,000 on it. It just flipped like the week or 2 before the engine went out.
Purchased a new 2012 KIA Forte Koup. It now has 20,000 miles and has had 4 new batteries. The car drains the batteries completely and they cant be re charged. Keep having it towed to Kia Dealerships and they tell me they can find nothing wrong with the car. This is a car I purchased for my daughter to take to college and 2 batteries we had to buy because it died on the weekend when no dealer was open. I am so afraid of this car for a young girl to have. She is also afraid to drive it anywhere as she never knows when it will kill the battery. I stay a nervous wreck, as I never know when it will break down. Any suggestions?
I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento in mid-2012. We love the model and its features; however, the car has less than 12,000 miles on it and its making us question the quality of the electronics installed in the brand. The electronic throttle control has now failed twice on my wife while heading to work. I mean, a total failure in rush hour traffic no less! It is a major safety related issue and KIA needs to man up and get it right. So far, however, Coleman KIA in Ewing, New Jersey has been anything but zealous, accommodating or attentive in this matter. IMO, Their 1st attempt at a fix was a software REBOOT/ UPDATE.This morning, it happened again (6 days later), again displaying a CEL/MIL and entering limp mode (correlating code P0638, 2nd time) along with 0 throttle response, on the interstate no less! My wife was fortunate enough to be able to coast it into the breakdown lane and restart it, though in limp mode. These incidents have put my family at great risk. Im not happy about this at all and can only wring my hands as I prepare for the We cleaned the throttle body again, statement noted on the service ticket. Make no bones, KIA. I will not hesitate to litigate if any harm befalls me or mine because of this. I just hope you got it right this time. If I have to apply for a lemon reimbursement and head for another brand, so be it. Right now though, I just pray you dont kill us all with unreliable electronics/build quality.
Since I have been able to drive I have always gotten a Kia. They are the most reliable cars on the market and they are the most flyers as well. They have all of the latest features and the miles per gallon is amazing. If you get you a Kia you will definitely have it for the long-haul.
2012 Kia Forte - On 6/18/13, I was driving the car and white smoke started coming out of the tailpipe. There were no warning lights or anything. I took it to Kia of Bedford, Cleveland, Ohio and was asked to provide service records because there was sludge in engine and they will not honor warranty. They wanted me to pay $8,000 for a new engine which I will not do. I researched Kias record and found all over the country complaints of not honoring warranties - Kia of Bedford had 81. When I talked to Kias Customer Service Manager, Ms. **, she was nasty and unconcerned and offered as goodwill - yeah right - to pay half and I pay half. I will not. I am trading that car in and will not ever, ever purchase a car from Kia.
I bought a used 05 Amanti with 66K miles - one previous owner. My first problem was at only three of my own miles, it has gone through the same coil pack every month. It has sudden acceleration requiring neutral to avoid an accident. It sometimes refuses to accelerate. It eats batteries and now it has severe handling issues. I have owned cars with 174K miles that ran better than this lemon. It is parked till paid off when I will sell it for scrap. Save yourself headaches - do not buy Kia or Hyundai (Kia is owned by Hyundai). Kia corporate has been unable to duplicate the problem. I contacted a lemon law lawyer who told me since I bought it used I had no legal recourse. Safecar.gov has tons of complaints about Amantis with the same issues I have.
Ok, Ive been having issues with my low beam headlights. I cant even tell when they are on and having highbeams is the only why I can drive safely, until other drivers blind me with theirs because they are upset about it. Originally I thought maybe they just need cleaned... till I did research this is a major issue with many people and Kia needs to take responsibility. The chrome is getting burnt by the lights and it no longer is reflective enough to work effectively. I dont know how they have not recalled with all the complaints I have viewed online. This is a safety hazard and needs to be addressed. Other than that I think it is a fantastic car.
I bought a Kia Rio in 2003. I was the first owner with 1,000 miles on it. It was on clearance. I didn’t need an extra car, but the price was too good to be true. 3 months after the purchase, it was still under the famous 100,000-mile guarantee. The A/C stopped working. I took it back. They fixed it. 8 months later, the A/C stopped working again. They fixed it. 2 to 3 months later, the A/C stopped working again along with the driver lock. They fixed both. This time, I told them that I didnt want the car no more. It was too much hassle and I needed a reliable car because my older car got totaled in an accident. This time, they got a brand new AC compressor. It worked for a year. The dealer told me the new compressor had its own guarantee. I told them I wanted to exchange it for different car. He said if it didn’t work, they will do it. They were very nice, so I trusted them. Less than a year later, the AC and car locked again. I took it back. I had enough. This time, they said: Were sorry to inform you. But if you would had come before last week, we could it replace it. But your guarantee on your A/C just expired. Now Im stuck with this piece of **! I keep advising my friends never to buy a Kia ever.
I was driving my car and the engine failed. It ignited on fire and was Total-ed. The fire department and police came and put the fire out. I filed a claim on the day of the accident (August 18) with my insurance company that I have progressive insurance with. They have consistently lied to me and will not give me answers. All I am told is that they are still investigating and keep telling me that they will find something out. It just never happens.Because of this, I dont have a car to use since the incident and this has caused me real stress. My car is under warranty so I need someone to help me out.
I had a 2007 Kia Sorrento. I say had because the engine blew up. Actually it failed because of a defective part in the engine. It had 90,000 miles on it and Kia refused to do anything. They should have replaced the engine at their cost but no, I suggest to split the cost with them, but no. This claim went through several levels of the corporate customer service, and they were not helpful at all. All this took weeks for them to investigate, which they actually did nothing. This should not be the way they treat customers. And let me say, I own another Sorrento, I have recommended, and friends and family have bought several Kia. No longer do they get my support.
Please forward to any other KIA Executive Team member that should be informed. We just want to share with you an extremely disappointing Customer Experience and lack of Customer Care from one of your car dealers located in Delray Beach Florida. On Saturday, July 30th my wife and I dropped by your dealer in Delray. After discussing pricing and other related information, we proceeded to sign the necessary papers for your team to prepare the loan documentation and other documents necessary for us to come the next day to pick up a car that your team said was supposedly somewhere in Florida. After various phone calls during Monday, August 1st we agreed with your team to drop by the Dealer at around 7:00 PM ET, which we did. When we arrived, for our surprise your team shared with us that the car they were expecting to be delivered to their dealership for us (a 2016 Kia Sorento white LX) was involved in an accident. The car was being drove by someone instead of being delivered in a toll platform truck to avoid precisely these type of issues. Your management team should learn from this experience. In summary, we spent hours, expected a new KIA SUV be delivered to us today Monday August 1st. For our surprise nothing was delivered to us because after such a poor Customer Experience your team was not able to deliver as expected. We shared with the Manager what we expected because of the frustrating and disappointing customer experience, and that KIA management should review our situation and at a minimum propose to us a 2017 with the same financial numbers we already discussed. Your Manager understood our frustration, but was not able to compensate us for such a bad customer experience. He proposed us a 2017 but it represented around $4K dollars more than what was already discussed and agreed to (because that was all he was able to do at this level), which is NOT ACCEPTABLE to us, that was not what we originally agreed to. They ruined our weekend, our illusions and our expectations... Is this what KIA calls Customer Satisfaction? This transaction took place on the last day of the month for your Dealer. We do not want to think that they just wanted to book the sale and once the month was over they left us hanging with the problem. If you measure your Dealers based on executed sales, then this is a mute point, but if its based on sales book, then this is a problem. I just want to make sure I bring this issue to the attention of the KIA Management team, because this the worst Customer Experience I have suffered in my lifetime. KIA lost a potential customer for life. I will make sure that I share my experience with family members, work colleagues, and in social media as well. This should have never happened. A satisfactory customer resolution should have been found immediately to this situation.
I have a 2005 Kia Sorento. I paid it off April 2013. I have had nothing but problems out of this car since then. There is all kind of noise from the engine and front of the car and back of the car. I spent $400 getting it fixed about a month ago. A week later it was messed up again and I havent driven it since.
I purchased a Kia Rio 2011 in August 2012 from Courtesy Ford of Rome. The hubcaps was making a flapping noise when the weather changes. Water leaking in the backseat when it rains, and water leaking in the trunk starting on November 4. Went back and forth to Terry Reid, 25 miles away from Rome. I took it four to five times to see them before it was fixed in February of 2013. The airbag light came on. I had to go to Terry Reid for them to check it. The part was ordered and fixed a month later. Two weeks ago the engine light came on and the car started to put along. Now the car powers down like it is cutting off. I feel like I got a lemon and I plan on sending it back to the people who financed it. Im not paying $352 a month for a car that is not reliable and a waste of my hardworking money. I shouldnt be having all these problems with this car. I havent had it for one year yet and everything started three months after I got it.
I hate your pornographic commercials. Have you no shame? Do you not know that young children are watching television? Its offensive, degrading to women and just adds to all the other garbage that is on TV. You must be pretty desperate and feel like your product cant sell itself, resorting to such offensive tactics. I will never consider buying a Kia or Hyundai, just the name alone conjures up negativity in my mind!
I have a 2018 Kia, Sorento. I have been trying to get blind spot mirrors since the the day I purchase it in Nov. 2017. After being told by the dealers salesman, then parts department (Napelton Kia in Elgin, IL.,) I contacted KIA online. I had a chat with Alexis (Friday 6/29/18 at 5:14 CDT). When asked why I couldnt look up parts for my 2018 KIA Sorento, she replied that the parts department had not update (sp) them yet. I should contact their parts specialist sometime MON-FRI from 6:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M. PST. When I said that not having someone to answer parts questions all the time was archaic, the conversational attitude changed. I told her that I had purchased 2 new KIAs this year for cash, her reply was We do not accept cash, sir. You must be confusing us with the dealer. Of course I was talking about the dealer! I cant buy from the manufacturer! That doesnt change the fact that I spent over $40,000 with this company. All I got was the corporate run-around from them. Very disappointed and wish I had bought the Subarus I had been looking at.
I have gotten no help or updates from either the Moritz Kia in Hurst or heard back from anyone from your office. Im now being told by the dealership (18 Sep, 2015) that the vehicle is not cover under the 100k miles warranty! I would need to pay $1999.94 to get my car out. Why was this information not convey to me prior to all this work and time being spent on the car? If this was communicated to me ahead of time, I would have had my local mechanic correct your issue in less than a week for less the half the price. When the mechanic opened the hood did he not noticed the radiator had been replaced?Just so I have the sequence of event correctly stated: 02 August 2015, my vehicle overheated, with all ORIGINAL equipment. I have towing receipt. Vehicle has been in dealership since 05 August. 21 September 2015, I was told KIA will not Honor 100K mile warranty because I had replaced the original radiator that had leaked (AFTER the engine overheated). I never experienced such bad customer service. Bad practice... First and last time I will buy a KIA.
I bought a Kia Picanto with registration no. ** from Princess Crossing Franchise in Roodepoort, Gauteng on July 21, 2011. Up to date, I didnt receive the service booklet of the vehicle. Wayne **, the sales representative, promised on numerous occasions that in two weeks time I will have the booklet and that he didnt receive it from head office yet. I am a very proud owner of the Kia Picanto. And I want to keep the service schedule up to date. Can something small like a booklet turn into an issue? Please assist me.
I bought the used Kia in Pietermaritzburg branch and a few days after purchasing it the car got stuck with me. All the gears didnt want to go in. The clutch pedal was normal but the gear itself was just stiff. I had to park on the side of the road and called for assistance. When their technical arrived the car was back to normal and he assumed the rubber mat was stuck under the clutch. I then drove off feeling a little embarrassed. Three days down the line driving around turn on my lunch break same thing happened and I parked on the side of the road, switched off the engine and waited a bit. I started the engine and the gears were back to normal. The following day driving a friend to airport I got stuck on heavy traffic wherein a truck had broken down on N3 to Durban. I tried to get myself a safer spot and parked the car for like 5 minutes and started the engine. Again it was ok. The following day I informed the sales manager at KIA who said I must drive with their technical to see if the car will have that problem. I informed her that the car does that especially when I am driving in traffic. So we drove off with the technician and the car was ok. We returned back and I was asked to bring in the car so they could do a diagnostic check. I brought it back the following day and the result that they told me was that the car did not show any problems on their computer. The implication of that was that they cannot help me if they cannot pick up the problem.I held a meeting with the owner of the branch and he told me same story. I was angry and confused not knowing what I need to do in this case. So I am currently stuck with a vehicle which is like new because it had 1500km when I bought it, but I am unhappy. I got stuck recently in the morning on my way to work, and every time it happens I have to park on the side and let it cool down I would say. It is very frustrating and even more frustrating to know that the company says they cannot assist with this problem.
My wife was driving down the road and our 2011 Kia Sorento just shut off. She barely made it to the side off the road. When she tried starting it back up the starter fried. We replaced the starter change the oil and air filter along with putting synthetic oil in it. It has always had a whining noise when you drove it and now it has a peck in the motor. Dont know whats going on but cant afford to take it back to the dealership. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Im just disgusting with this car.
The check engine came on, so I took to it Kia/Carson on Thursday. I was advised on Friday that the catalytic converter is bad. Needed my service records in order to see if they will cover. The car has only 66,474 miles and should be covered under Federal Emissions Warranty. When I called to confirm what code was coming up, they advised P0430. It is now the following Wednesday and are denying because I cannot provide further service records. Now, they are telling me that other codes came up which I believe they are reading those same codes that was on my last service record provided only 2,000 miles earlier. My husband went into the dealer to talk to the service manager and he decided not to get off his phone call and come out of his office to meet and discuss. He has still not returned our calls. This is not the first issue I have had with my car. I will never buy a Kia again, nor should anyone else. They do not stand behind their product and are not consumer friendly. I’m a very dissatisfied consumer.
I was driving into town to get gas before heading to work. I ran out of gas, called my roadside assistance, had them come give me fuel, tried starting it, and the roadside assistance person thought the battery was dead, and put a charger on it, and it still wouldnt start, and was recommended to have it towed, which I did. I called my mechanic at noon, to find out it had no oil, and the engine was seized. When I went to the shop there were no codes that pulled and I had no lights on the dash, no oil light, no check engine, etc. The mechanic actually had to show me where the oil light was, as it is right next to the low fuel light - I would have noticed it. Ive spoken to Kia who says there have been no issues with the 2012 Kia Sorento, but I beg to differ. I believe the sensor or fuse for the oil light had to have been malfunctioning, which led to my vehicle running out of oil, unlike Kia who suggested it was due to negligent maintenance on my part.
Its ridiculous my complaint has been on hold!!! Who owns you??? I had car that almost killed my kids and I ruined my credit to give back because it was seizing up after 1 year lease and burning oil and after reading was obviously a common problem in engine and never forced to recall!!! This site isnt legit!!!
I brought a 2012 KIA Sedona 10/2011 and it keeps breaking down - On 5/23/2012, I was riding in traffic and felt a great big jerk, check engine light came on and the speedometer went all the way down. I had to swerve off the the road very quickly because it almost caused an accident. I tried to proceed after swerving onto the side of the road and the van would not go over 10mph. Someone could have been seriously hurt. This is a safety issue. I called Felton Holly Kia and spoke with the automotive manager Dawn. She stated it sounded like the throttle. I then called Kia Roadside Assistance and Dawn called Enterprise for a rental for me. On 5/24/12, Dawn called me to state that they replaced the throttle actuator. I picked my van up after work and left the rental car at the Kia dealership. I also asked Dawn, if this was a recall, then why didnt I receive a letter from the manufacturer? She stated she didnt tell me it was a recall. Actually, I understood her to say recall. She then stated it was a service call for the battery terminal and they replaced the throttle actuator. I then just left the dealership still upset and dissatisfied, but the van ran okay at that moment. On 6/3/12, my van did the same thing it did on 5/23/12, which consisted of riding in traffic, feeling the big jerk and the speedometer went down quickly. I could not get it to get the speed back up. It would not go over 30mph at this point. Kia roadside assistance was called once again on 6/4/12 to tow my van to Felton Holly KIA. I spoke with a gentleman on 6/4/12 (8:10AM) by the name of Peter and told him the problem I was experiencing with my van and that I would need a ride from work. He stated okay, they would take a look at my van to see what was going on. I never heard from anyone at Felton Holly KIA so I decided to call at 1:24PM (6/4/12) and I spoke with Dawn, who stated they still were not aware what was wrong and the maintenance personnel had gone to lunch, but would return in 15 minutes. I waited and then 2:38-2:40PM, Dawn called to state that they were replacing the pedal on my van. She stated this was all related to the same issue. I asked, how could that be if you replaced the throttle actuator? She stated she never stated the throttle actuator was replaced, but that they put the new computer information in my van, which was never put in. I stated, you never said that and she said she did. I just started jotting down what was being said by her. Dawn asked, was I aware how PCs worked when they install the new information? I stated no, so she called herself explaining it. She stated that my 2012 van did not have the new computer information, but it had the old information so they input this information in on the 5/23/12 incident. I feel like the information is being given and turned around once I repeat to them what they previously have told me. This is very frustrating. It seems like they are guessing about what is wrong and the real issue is not being resolved. I need help on how to handle this situation so I can utilize my options.
Kia Stingers have faulty brake rotors, this is a known issue and a quick Google search for stinger rotor problems will confirm this statement. My rotors have been pulsating since about week one of ownership. Kia will not resurface or replace the rotors that I have have been fighting to have fixed for about 9 months now because I have since installed aftermarket wheels and tires. What a joke, any excuse they can use to get out of covering their faulty products. Will not be buying another Kia, ever.
Bought our first brand new 2011 Kia Sorrento because we wanted a warranty to cover any problems. In October, we noticed the paint was starting to bubble and chip off all over the top of the car and the hood. We took it to the service dept. At the dealership where we purchased it (dont ever do business with Keffer Kia in Mooresville, NC) and they told us it wont be covered under our bumper to bumper five-year warranty because we must have either driven through something or parked it under a tree. Are you friggin kidding me?We now have a lawyer. Im saddened by the fact that there is no honor or loyalty anymore when you purchase something today. I am also offended that they have the nerve to actually accuse a customer of something so ridiculous just to get out of fixing something that is clearly a defect. Anyway, just in case someone else is having the same problem, no, you are not going crazy and should complain about as well because I believe in the power of the pen and the power of all people united. If enough people come forward with these problems, the companies will have no choice but to start taking responsibilities for their merchandise.
The Kia Sorento is only as good as what the company backs it up to be. Its a little above garbage and thats only because they dont back up their vehicles if there known defect.
I purchased this car new, have done all maintainer to car. At 64000 mile air go out, told my condenser was hit by a rock. Have seen over 1000 complaints about this same thing. This is a big problem with design. Told its not covered because I am over the 60000 mile warranty!! This is bull. I own 3 Kia, just purchased a 2016 Sorento and I am going to design something to stop this. I have own many different cars and this is the first to have this problem! KIA NEEDED TO RECALL THEIR DESIGN ON THIS CONDENSER and put mesh shield to protect it. Very disappointed with KIA.
My 2002 Kia just wouldnt start. I had it towed. The mechanic said that the problem is the switch (a $20 spare part), but because it was behind the timing chain. They had to tear the whole front of the engine off to get to it. It cost me $1100. I will never buy another Kia, and I will be telling all my friends to avoid them like the plague. This is just one of several issues I had with the car.
Bought brand new 2017 Sportage in April 2017. Sept 25 my wife parked it at 6:45 am at work. At 2 pm the car decided to burst into flames totaling the vehicle. Video shows no one messed with it. Has to be an electrical malfunction that started fire. Anyone else have any issues with this type of vehicle?
My experience with Kia Roadside Assistance has been a very positive one so far. If I need any type of roadside assistance, I give Kia Roadside Assistance a call or I use the app that is on my phone and begin whats needed to get the wheels turning as to me getting taken care of. Every time I have called Kia Roadside Assistance its usually concerning a battery dead issue. Someone from Kia Roadside takes my information and sends someone out right away to give me assistance. The wait for the technician sent out by Kia Roadside Assistance is never a long wait. The technician from Kia Roadside Assistance is usually kind and straightforward offering help and then solving the problem in what I feel is record time. So, based on my experiences with Kia Roadside Assistance this last year and a half Im well pleased.
Very disappointed in my 2011 Sorento. This is the first and last Kia I will buy. At 106K miles, just 6K miles out of warranty, I need to have my transmission replaced. Also need motor and transmission mounts. I have not even paid the vehicle off (have 6 months left) and cant justify spending $4700 to fix. Appealed to Kia for goodwill help and was denied. Hope this review is helpful to others.
I have just bought a Kia Sorento 2018 this month. What I want the public to learn here is not to repeat the same mistake that I made at the dealership. I was actually happy to buy the Sorento, but when I signed the paperworks, I didn’t pay too much attention to the details. All I had in mind was I was gonna pay the amount that me and the salesman agreed on. I did not catch an additional fee for EXTENDED WARRANTY. This was not even explained to me. I was not aware of it. It costed me $2700, and since this was added to the loan amount. It would basically cost me more. Now when I look at my new Kia Sorento, I feel ashamed of myself for buying Kia. I was just foolish!!! God knows how I could forgive myself.
I am suffering because of my sunroof in my Cerato 2010. I went on 13/10/2011 to the agent in Cairo to fix my sunroof, but till now, they are telling me that the spare part is not found (I think the problem is the roller). I am very frustrated and I hope to fix this problem with an agent in Egypt sooner. Thanks for the help.
I bought a Kia Sorento based on their claims of safety and all the airbags they have. In Dec I was in an unfortunate accident. Luckily my children were not in the vehicle. I was hit from all sides by multiple vehicles. NOT ONE AIR BAG deployed. The passenger side doors were on the seats and the frame between the front and back seats was split in half (right where there is an airbag). Kia said that in this situation the airbags are not designed to deploy when hit in that fashion. So they are claiming no fault. The vehicle was totaled. If Kia is so safe with all their airbags and I was T-boned and hit from all sides then what type of situation do you have to be hit in in order for them to deploy. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I just noticed a bubble on the hood of my 2010 KIA Soul. I called the dealer and they said that Kia only warranties paint for 3 years or 30,000 miles. Well, it just so happened that although its within the 3 years, I am over the mileage by about 15,000. First of all, what do miles driven have to do with paint? I told him I keep it garaged at home and under cover at work. It rarely gets sun exposure other than when Im driving. Im not happy!
My Kia Picanto is just 5 years old, and already it needs a transmission overhaul. Technician says it has an internal fault - it is losing pressure. It refuses to go into gear, thus it starts up but just does not move off the spot.
Kia does NOT stand behind their 100,000 mile warranty at all. Bought 2006 Sedona new. Within 12k miles, both left and right turn signal lights going out all the time. Head lights burn out every other month. Front rotors and brakes need replaced, 12k and again and again. Bolts came up missing on sider door. Thermostat caused the check engine light to come on. NONE OF these item were covered! AC compressor went out twice, was fixed under warranty. At 60k, the Air bag light came on. Again not under warranty, 1500.00 to fix that. More headlights and turn signals all throughout the ownership of this Van. Rotors and brakes again. Blend door for AC and heat making a clicking sound in the dash. Valve covers leaking. Rattle and clunks in the front end now. Intermediate No start, No Crank, battery is good. All electrical items work with no crank no start. Found out this is a Junction box where all the wiring connect to along with the engine disable and key fob. Now the key fobs have to be reprogrammed at the dealer and they want anywhere from 52 to 80 dollars for that? This has to be one of the worst designed and most UNRELIABLE Brands on the road today.
It makes me sick to watch the sandman Kia commercial. My young daughters watched that. What is wrong with you people? It’s so degrading for women. Cant our children watch television without being bombarded by sex? Geez, its about a car, not about sex. It makes me sick. What have you become, numb to morals. Im the Virgin Mary, but we have to start drawing the line somewhere. I will never buy a Kia now, just for the fact of the commercial. I will do everything in my power to talk people out of supporting any company that does that.
My drivers seat keeps breaking where plastic surrounds power area. Kia will not help me. They say its an outside influence. What do I do after 5 times since 2013?
I purchased a KIA Seltos from Orange Park, Florida. Persons listed below were OUTSTANDING and PROFESSIONAL!!! Kelton ** - General Manager, Chris Tim ** - sales, Jim ** - finance. Thank you ALL for your Great Service and Help.
I just purchased my new Kia Soul mid-2012. It was disappointing enough that the promised MPG was far off from what was advertised. I did purchase the vehicle because of the purposed fuel ratings that were high. Obviously that did not happen for me and thousands of other consumers! But on to my other problem. My vehicle smells like mold! I took my car in for the oil change and also let them know of the odor. The service rep said they would check it out. I waited for my vehicle and when I went to check out, the rep told me they sprayed the vehicle hose where the a/c unit was with some type of freshener. He showed me a can that blasts the product through the hose. They proceeded to let me know that other people had complained of the same issue. I asked what caused this, he said from the a/c unit, rain, and parking under trees! What?! Its a faulty design from the a/c drain line! He stated I needed to change the filter which is located behind the glove compartment about every year to prevent the smell from coming back at a rate of $150! Are you kidding? Why do I have to pay for a defect in the lines for the a/c unit? He said thats just the way it is. He did say that they take care of it the first time. If its an issue, then just take care of the problem, forever. Only a few weeks have passed and the smell is back. The crazy thing is I got bronchitis and cant seem to get over it! Ive never had an issue with this in the past. I wonder if my car is a factor?! We all know mold is hazardous to peoples health and it can cause all types of serious health issues. Im just saying?! Im not sure what to do at this point. I cant afford $150 every few months to have the filter changed. Its just crazy to me.
My 2013 Kia Soul keeps chugging and does not want to go. Have had it in the shop numerous times, nothing wrong with it. I decided to keep dumping the fuel cleaner in. Seems to have helped. I quit and now chugging away with 19-23 mpg on highway. Feels like there is a drag on the engine all the time then all the sudden it will go for a couple days in the 30 mpg. Sick of it!! Being stuck in traffic with a chugging car is sickening!! Plus the paint is coming off the bumper. Piece of crap!!!
I have a 2013 Kia Soul I purchased new. Since I purchased it I have had an issue with the car hanging up when I shift it into reverse. It is an automatic. Ive taken it to the useless dealership I purchased it from and of course they cant fix it because the computer isnt throwing a trouble code. Its really frustrating when you purchase a new car and from day one the transmission hangs up and the idiots at the dealership cant fix it for you. I have stopped going to Folger and will go to another dealer for the next service and see if they can repair it. Anyone have a similar issue?
I have had my car in the dealership on several occasion. I have a 2014 Kia Cadenza. A very elegant car but it is misfiring and it vibrates like crazy on a cold start and a hot start. The service advisor is always nice and polite. But the service on my vehicle is horrible. Kia knows my vehicle is misfiring and vibrating like crazy its to the point where it Im moving in the car too it vibrates so bad. I work for a Kia dealership and if Kia tech will do me like this they would do anyone like this. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a Kia Cadenza. They are garbage. They look good on the outside but rotten on the outside. And I know they are trying to wait until my warranty go out so I would have to face this problem myself.
I will NEVER EVER buy a KIA Optima or any KIA. First it has a bad AIR CONDITIONER, now my engine is BLOWN. Warranty does not cover it. I bought a 2014, last year although I did oil changes engine started to let out BLACK SMOKE. Took it to KIA, they said I never did an oil change even though I showed them Oil Change receipt. They took the engine apart and said we needed a new engine. So the car is sitting outside my house with no ENGINE. It sort of an advertisement that KIAs are NO GOOD, NO GOOD. My other car has almost 160,000 miles, no engine problem. I had 2 Toyotas, they ran over 200,000 miles - never had engine problem.
To start my fiance was driving her car and the motor seized on her on a major highway. Called the dealership. They told her the towing company they used was busy so she would have to sit on the side of the road in the summer in Mississippi for 3 hours. I got her car towed to our house from a friend of mine. We finally get Kia to tow the car to the dealership, come to find out there was a recall on the motors for this reason. Never once did we get anything in the mail for it. We got it there Friday morning, here it is Monday afternoon and all they know is what I told them and that is that it needs a new motor. They told us it would be 3 days for the kia tech line to approve the motor. So we are gonna be without a car for 3 days if not longer. I called kia customer service they said the same. After asking for a supervisor they told me that it would take 24 to 48 hours for the supervisor to contact me back. Overall this will be the last kia I ever own. Just a bunch of crooks who messed up and now dont want to pay for it.
Not happy with 2015 SUV Sorento. Has heated seats but no Automatic lights - was not told about this.
Took my 2005 Kia Sorento to the your dealership where it was purchased, for the rear main seal repair. The car has been running rough for the past two years. They did a GDS test, code for throttle position sensor, had spark plus & cables change. Vehicle has 90,000 mile. $800.00 later the Sorento run worst. Was told its a 2005, it will never run smooth. In that case would of kept it like it was. Now have to bring it back for another 2 days.
We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!
I have a 2014 Kia soul with less than 20k, owned it 1 1/2 yrs. Noticed the clear coat on my wheels is starting to peel off. I notified the dealer and he told me to bring it in to take pics and send it to corp. but he also said they probably will do nothing. I have owned three Kias, this is Definitely my last.
2013 Kia Sorento - We got stuck in the middle of the road. While driving, the car shut down completely. When you try to restart the car, it does not restart. You need to wait for five minutes before it can restart. It happened three times in the last four months. I took it to the dealer and they told us they cant do anything about it because they cant duplicate the problem. Also, they mentioned that the computer is not registering any faults. Their solution was to drive the car and when it happens again, have to tow it to the nearest dealer. If you survive getting stuck in the interstate, you may able to have to tow.
I purchased my Kia Soul in 2015 at Kia Of Asheville in February of 2015. I havent had any problems until this morning. I was coming back from vacation & I was an hour away from home. While going up a mountain, all of a sudden my clutch started shifting on its own without me even putting the clutch in (The engine light didnt come on either) then there was a strong burning rubber smell in the car so I pulled over turned off my car & turn the hazard lights on and called my mother-in-law. A few minutes into our conversation my hazard lights died and I could not start the car. I called Kia roadside assistance and they came and picked me up and took me to the Kia dealership where I purchased my vehicle in 2015.I have been driving manual transmissions for more than 20 years, my last vehicle the clutch lasted almost 6 years before needing replaced. I have never had my clutch and battery go out at the same time. Kia of Asheville is saying that its not covered under Warranty but they need to get into the transmission to know for sure which will cost more money! They called me back with a worse scenario cost of $1500 unless its caused by something under the warranty. But Why would I buy a battery from Kia if this one only lasted a little over two years? And what about the clutch!? Theres only 50,000 miles on my car & my clutch should of lasted at least 100,000. I know a clutch is a wearable part but its strange that the battery and clutch went out at the same time because theyre two separate entities.I think theres something else going on and Im afraid Kia is going to say the Warranty is not going to cover this. Has anyone else had this problem? Im reading all the horror stories about Kia and its got me convinced that I wont buy another Kia. I found out Kia & Honda have a lawsuit against them for the type of wiring they use. Did I make a mistake in buying my car?
I would like to voice out my frustration over Kias employees (**) unprofessionalism. My Rio Ex Sedan, Manual 2813AP13 had perhaps wheel alignment issues, the original fit Hankook tires were worn out in 25200 km. I contacted Kia Forbach on Wednesday 29th October 2014 (8:58am) and told the person concerned that Ill come over to Forbach around noon for tire inspection. ** was not there but the mechanic advised me to replace all the 4 tires immediately. Within a couple of hours, I had the Rio fitted with 4 Michelin tires. Same day (12:24pm) I requested ** to fix an appointment for me for wheel alignment at Kia Pailles for Monday 3rd November 2014, he said hell do it. On Monday 3rd November when I reached Kia Pailles with my toddler and wife, grand was my disappointment, anger and frustration when I was told that no appointment has been booked for my car for wheel alignment. How unprofessional! I took leave from my place of work for wheel alignment, drove all the way from Goodlands to Pailles for nothing. Is it my fault? Do you think I am fond of wasting my time and money for nothing? When I bought my Rio for R725,000/- I was not given even 1 cent of discount. I cannot tolerate unprofessional behaviour; one lady at Pailles kept me waiting for almost 2 hours, she told me that she is trying to help and possibly Ill have to wait till 5 pm for wheel alignment! Am I mad or are you guys mad? Did I come over to Kia Pailles with my 2 year son and wife to have fun/picnic? And in the midst of all, it is me who is being penalized. I took leave from work, wasted money on fuel for a service which I never received. Who will compensate me? In other countries like USA and UK Kia dealers compensate customers who have been wronged in the name of customer satisfaction. I am not a happy customer and I am waiting to hear from you what you intend to do for me? Kindly dont consider this as a threat, but I am determined to go ahead and inform Kia Worldwide and customer forums about my horrible experience with Kia Mauritius unless I get satisfaction. When I am paying for goods and services I expect the latter to be of acceptable standards. Neither ** nor any personnel of Kia Mauritius came forward and apologized for such humiliating/embarrassing treatment to me!
I had the worst experience having a Kia car. This was my first time I chose Kia because I liked the car that I was going to lease. The previous two cars that I drove were Toyota and they never ever gave me problems that usually an older car gives (one Problem on top of another). Imagine you trust the company, you get a brand new car thinking that “hey it’s a new car. I’m not going to have all the problems that old cars give and then one day you wake up, your car is not starting, the next day brake lights don’t work, the following week another problem comes up.And my car was a 2018 car and it’s 2019 now and then you call them. They keep transferring you to different departments not willing to take responsibility and ownership that you could be that one in a 1 million customers that had all these different problems with the car and maybe we can take care of you somehow. I would NOT recommend getting a Kia if you want to lease a NEW car. It was my first experience and the worst one and when you know the company doesn’t want to take responsibility for it, it’s even worse and not worth your time or your money!!!
I have a 2013 Kia Sorento. The paint is falling off and Kia wont do a ** thing about it. I payed 38k for this piece of **. Its the 3rd Kia I have owned. Never will buy this crap again. Kia you suck and I hope you go out of business. Rusty Wallace is the worst Kia dealer of all.
Too many mechanical problems: lights turn on by themselves, tires losing air, tire was plugged and said I had it plugged when it was the same tire from when I got the car new off the lot. Swift gear broke and I was told it was a sticky substance inside of it. Now headlights stop working out of nowhere.
I give 5 starts for the sales lady and 1 star for the financing department. We made a deal with the sales lady Josslyn and she went to her manager Eric everything was set 60 months at $320 per month we get to the financing dept he goes no way that cant happen. I told him, No Eric said 60months @320 its a deal. We bought the KIA. Well, in financing it ended up 72 months at 328? My husband said not to make a scene so I said well when I come pick up the tags I will talk to the manager Eric and Josslyn. That happens yesterday 10-29-11.The financing guy said you should have told me .I informed him I did more than once he kept telling me that wasnt going to happen. So yesterday, he goes the paper work has been file so what do you want me to do. I informed him I wasnt happy the manager and sales person gives you a price and when you get back to his office whatever the manager say doesnt mean anything I dont feel that is right .This isnt the first vehicle we have gotten. He was wrong charging us one more yr I know we could have said no to the car but my husband said go ahead but if he has done it once how many other times has he done it to other customer. He had no excuse but it cant be done yet the manager gave us a discount because it was a 2011 and the finance guy didnt and wouldnt sale it to us at what the manager and sales person quoted us.
Kia Mohave 2013 - I love my car so much. It have all what I need and more... I dont have any complain until I did the service of 30000 km. After that I found a small problem, but it’s bothering me. The outside temperature is very low - more than the real temperature. I told them that at the service and they change the sensor, but the problem didnt solve. Today it was very hot outside 47C, but its appear in the car outside 29. How come? After about 30 min its appear 33. Please help me... Whats wrong?
My mothers brand new Kia Sorento was purchased to take a trip 800 miles to see her sisters. When she arrived, the displays, (all digital), went black. Mind you this car has 1055 miles on it and she is now in Redding Ca., 800 miles from home here in Utah. She called Kia in Redding, and they told her they couldnt help her. She then called the dealership here in Utah and they told her the same thing. They gave her a customer service number. When she called it, they immediately knew the part number. After she gave this to the dealership, they told her it would take 5 weeks to get it from Korea! She once again called the dealership where she purchased the car, In Salt Lake City, Utah, and they offered no help at all! They told her she is basically stuck in Redding CA for at least 5 weeks, or she could chance it and cross the 500 miles of desert between Reno and her home here in Utah... KIA IS A JOKE! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS I HAVE EVER HEARD OF!
My mother was driving her 2010 Kia car when the gear stick came right out in her hand! Imagine what a shock that was, when she was just left with the stick. My father had to come and pick her up. Shed had to be driving the car slower as the gear wasnt working and she ended up causing a traffic jam. When she could finally pull over into a safe area, she let Kia know. They told her to bring the car to them! She explained calmly that she wasnt going to drive a car with a non-functioning gear stick. The lady on the other end of the phone tried convincing her that she should just go really slowly. Unbelievable! When my mother became angrier and asked them if they really expected her to drive the car, another man came on the phone and tried the same tactic. My mother said they needed to come and get the car. Surprise, surprise; there was no one available. And, to add to this, apparently the gear stick doesnt form part of their 7-year warranty anyway! Now, maybe its just me, but Im thinking theres something really fishy about that. How convenient! She asked them what came in the warranty then, shed like to know for the future!Never mind that she has had continual problems with Kia before and even that very morning when she had gone to get her car fixed after something had fallen off the front, they didnt have the correct parts when she went so that was a wasted journey. It was as if everything was supposed to happen that day in order for us to realize that Kia is a very dodgy company. I agree with the other reviews here: a shoddy company, with shoddy parts and shoddy customer service. They dont help you; they mess you around, and their warranty is very shaky as they try to wriggle out of whatever they can. Shell be getting rid of this car as soon as she can and well be spreading the word about this not-fit-for-purpose company!
I bought 2005 Kia Sedona 3 years ago. My first year was just minor problems. Second year it got worst, driver window didnt work, 3 passengers doors knob broken, air conditioner didnt work and part by part keep breaking. By beginning of my 3rd year I have place almost every single part except the engine. Its the worst car I ever own. I have to spend money fixing this car every week. I have to spend 50 to 70 percent of my income to fix it for the past 6 months. Im broke because of the car. I tried to trade it in but dealer wont take it. They told me nobody want to buy Kia. And today as my mechanic working on replacing an alternator. Im sitting here expressing my frustration and it will be the last thing I will fix. I will tow it away if anything else break. I will never buy Kia again.
i have been having trouble putting fuel in my 2003 Kia Sorento. My warranty has already expired. I did get a recall letter from Kia for the fuel filter replacement, at which time I felt sure this was my problem, and since it was a recall, would be taken care of by Kia. They explained to me that the reason it was recalled was because it was not listed in the manual at all, as something to be changed every so many miles. They sent two pages to be added to the manual. My local Kia dealership did change the fuel filter. That same day, after trying to put fuel in the car, I find nothing had changed. I called them and asked them to look at it again, and took it back several days later, as they were to change another recall, known as the induction control valve, and check my fuel tank once again. They told me that a charcoal canister located in the fuel system had come apart, and I now had charcoal debris in my gas tank, which of course was not covered, and that part was $134.90, and the labor would be $199.00. I went home and went through my manual for a couple of hours trying to locate this charcoal canister, to better understand how such a thing could happen. After having no luck locating it in the manual, I called Kia, and told them my dilemma, and asked them if they could tell me where in the manual this part is located, and are you ready for this? I was told it was not in the manual, because it was not listed as maintenance! I asked well how would anyone know it was even there, if it wasnt listed. They said it was just a part that was never to be changed at any point and time. Now Im going to be out $350.00, on a part that no one knows existed, nor was ever to be changed. I write this in hopes that it will help anyone else, who is having similar problems. If your fuel spits back at you, or you have to dribble the fuel in, it may be this part that no one knew about, or was not a part that should ever need maintenance. Sorry, but a Kia is not in my future.
Kia took an extra payment after a payoff was done. I called to have them refund the extra balance. First agent told me that it would be sent to the correct address. It did not. Forward a month later, called again to ask where it was. They sent to wrong address. Had the agent request a stop payment and send to correct address. Told me she did. Forward a month. Asked where the check was and the agent told me they never processed. Had the call escalated to two Incompetent Managers one which was named Julie. Julie started the conversation trying to act tough to get me off the phone. Told me to wait another half a month to get my money back. Funny thing is if I didnt make payments on the car guess who would be calling me for money. Im doing the exact same thing to get my money back. Julie then proceeded to get snarky and ended the conversation by hanging up on me. What a tool.
I purchased the Kia about 1 1/2 years ago. I have 48000 miles on it. Last week it started blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. I checked the oil, which was fine, and then called and made an appointment at the dealership since it is under warranty. I took it in yesterday only to be told that the engine was ready to blow. I thought my day couldnt get any worse until the Kia rep told me that I needed to gather up all of my receipts and that of all maintenance reports on my vehicle. It would then be submitted to Kia to see if it met their approval for their warranty. This would have been fine except for the fact that the service person told me that if I ever went over 3500 miles in between changes they would decline the warranty. I have completed oil changes at home and the service person said that would be fine except that I have to prove that it was for the Kia. Now, there was no indicator light that ever came on in this vehicle. I have faithfully changed or had changed my oil and again NO INDICATOR light came on that anything was wrong. Basically I was told good luck in getting it fixed. I have read the other complaints and it seems like I am not the only one. I owe 26000.00 on this vehicle and they said that if (when) Kia declines the work then they will be happy to replace my engine for the price of $5000.00-$6000.00. Even if I didnt complete the oil changes that I did a BRAND NEW car should not have a blown engine in 48000 miles. After speaking with their rep it was made very clear to me that they are going to decline anything that I give them. When I asked about it being a Kia issue that the indicator lights werent on I was told Well I dont know why they didnt come on and Slug in the tank means oil leak I stated to the rep that if the seals leaked because of a problem with their motor that would also cause slug in tank too right? The guy told me You would have to prove that. I will never buy another Kia. Their warranty sounds good but is full of loopholes to make a customer believe that they are getting amazing coverage when what it really is is a way to screw people out their money, their car, and their wellbeing.
Bad after sales performance - my bad experience with KIA Cerato (Controller had broken down). This is Dr. Hamdy **, Professor of Electronics Engineering, from Cairo, Egypt. I bought a KIA Cerato. I was surprised this week when the car stopped suddenly while I was driving on my way to work. I called the KIA Egypt maintenance services, and they carried the car into the service location (official KIA location). After inspection, they told me that the controller has broken down. Actually, I was surprised because the car is a brand new one and has only about 30,000 kilometers on it. However, I periodically avail myself the traditional service for the car at the KIA official place, and the last one was about two weeks only. Now, it would cost me more than 1,000 USD since this car was delivered from Saudi Arabia to Cairo in Egypt. I was shocked to find out about the price to fix the controller. The car is brand new. I have had many brand new cars before, but I did not face any problem such as this one. I asked them to please try and fix this problem because it leaves a very negative feedback about KIA (and the marketing in Egypt is huge for KIA). The car is located now at the KIA service branch - Elsaba Auto Service (250 Industrial Zone, Zahraa El Maadi, Cairo, Egypt / Tel and Fax: +2 2516 2518, +2 2521 8393 / Date of Service: 30 Jan 2013 - 03 Feb 2013).I got a response from KIA regarding this complaint that I submitted yesterday: “Kindly be informed that the service center will make a discount for the changed part. The warranty covers the sold cars by official agent in Egypt as it announced and known in the market.” This is a fatal fabrication design mistake in your design kit, and I will not excuse KIA designers for this mistake (“hardware designer for solid state parts”), and I will not advise anyone to use it. My advice to KIA customers is to stop using this car.
I have a 2013 Kia Soul. I am on my third battery. Kia says there is nothing wrong. Just bad batteries. I dont have any confidence in this car anymore. Kia will not do anything for me.
I parked our Kia just after the last oil change and service. We bought a new van, a 2007 Toyota Sienna. I never even thought of trading for a Kia. The Kia was driven off and on. My next service was listed in miles from the dealership. I had no idea that there was a month limit too. It was about two and a half years and we were going to get it registered to put back on the road for our daughter. It drove fine to the dealership except when I slowed the RPM to stop, then it would cut off. There were no knocks, clicks, smells except for a woodsy smell that they described as old gas. They cleaned the old gas out, did a tune-up, put in a new coil and did an oil change. They said it still wasnt right so they kept it over night. The next morning I called and they told me that the engine was shot. They said cylinder no. 6 was dead. I had it towed to AAA, a shop that we trust. They just did a compression test and analyses. They said it was cylinder no. 4. I talked to another Kia dealership and had it towed there. I gave them permission to check further. They pulled the head, used a scope and checked. I was told that a valve was bent on cylinder no. 4. I researched this and found at that bent valves are caused usually by a jumped timing belt. It was replaced at 54,000. Later, this service manager called the other dealerships service department and said that it was cylinder no. 4, not 6 and that the rocker arm was broken and laying in the cylinder. That is not what I was told.
Purchased a 2011 Kia Sorrento brand new (less than 100 miles on it) in August of 2014. Went to bring it in for a simple camera replacement that would be covered under the 5 year/60k warranty, only to find out that the warranty started back in 2011 when the car was placed on the lot. So by the time I purchased the car, there were only 2 years left of the warranty unbeknownst to me (even though they sold me the car as new --certainly not a demo). Conveniently no one is able to resolve this issue -- hitting a wall with kiaconsumeraffairs, and the dealership is just not helpful altogether. This is my second Kia, and will now be my last. A lot of headache over a quick repair. Curious if all dealerships do this to lessen the chance of someone making a claim under the warranties -- have them all start prior to the car being sold.
I went out to my car for an afternoon meeting and the material on my console was melted in a spit. It was clearly melted. I parked in the sun that day but it was only 69 degrees out. I went to a meeting earlier that day at 1100 and it was fine. I called Kia in Liberty Lake, WA and reported it and told me it wasnt covered under my bumper to bumper warranty because it didnt melt all the way, just in a spot. They refuse to even submit it to Kia out pay to cover it. My $25000 purchase shouldnt melt for any reason. I do not recommend ever buying a Kia. They lure about their warranties and try to get you to pay. I am more filing out under the Lemon Law.
Rattle from under dashboard from new, told at 1500 service plastic settling in. Told at 15000 service not covered by warranty as it was due to plastic dash etc and classed as normal. 27000 rattle driving me mad, again not covered by warranty. Spoke to RACQ, they felt it was definitely a warranty problem. Contacted Kia Sydney, ** promised to ring back. Still waiting, contacted Kia in Korea no response. Service manager from Kia service in Bundamba Ipswich contacted me saying they will have a look at the car, but will take a WEEK to check it out and no promises it will be covered by warranty.
I have a 2014 Kia with 130,000 highway miles. It is now using oil. In the 50+ years I have owned vehicles I have never had one that used oil. At 86,000 miles it needed rear calipers because they were rusted on. Four mechanics told me this was not normal. This car is either on the highway or in a dry garage. Kia refused to help in any way shape or form. Needless to say my next vehicle will not be a Kia. I purchased this vehicle from the Kia dealership in Boardman Ohio and I have never experienced such unprofessional customer service.
My daughter bought a new Kia Sorento and has had transmission problems. Wont go when in drive about once or twice a month. Went through lemon law and called Kia. Wont return our call. Im tired of being on standby to pick her up and my grandchild when it has those spells. So much for warranty. They couldnt ever find problem so I guess its in our mind.
I own a 2013 KIA Rio Ex. I had many problems with the car. I always take it in to get the routine repairs, oil changes, brakes etc. One day on a really cold day my rear brakes locked up on the road (wheels dragging on the road), thankful that it happened on the side road. Had to get it towed to dealership and getting that call to say that it was my problem, cost me 539 dollars to fix and it took them a week to get the parts for the car. Since Feb 2014 I have spent 1400 dollars in repairs with a car still under warranty. It has also has had problem with the UVO system going for a 3rd unit tomorrow. Stay away from KIAs they are garbage.
I have had my 2013 Kia Sorento for 2 years and I have never had an issue with the car up until this far. Recently my fuel pump went out and as inconvenient as it was Kias customer service helped make the situation quick and cost free. Even though I was the second owner of the car, therefore voiding the Extended warranty, Kia still covered the repairs at no cost to me. Even though it was a holiday weekend they had me in a rental car the same day and even covered the entire cost for the week I had it. The customer service representatives were all extremely nice and very accommodating to our needs. I would recommend Kia to my friends and family and plan to get one for my fiancé in the future as well.
Car caught on fire from the rear. Fire department called to location of the car fire. Indianapolis police officer left my daughter on 465 to walk home to Carmel.
In December 2014, I was seriously injured (including a broken back...) in a 2015 KIA SORENTO during a frontal crash because the car malfunctioned. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed and duly filed my complaint with NHTSA. After my complaint, there were 3 others filed with the most recent being March 2016 where another person got injured because the airbag DID NOT DEPLOY. Even though the IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety) identified this problem as well as potential injuries to the driver during its SMALL OVERLAY CRASH TEST - THE MANUFACTURER (KIA) still FAILED to conduct necessary defect investigation and recall on all existing 2014/2015 KIA Sorento models that have this defect which creates and heightens the risk of potential dangerous injuries because few consumers are aware of this as NHTSA gives the 2015 KIA SORENTO a five-star rating on a test that was conducted in 2013 because both the 2014 and 2015 models were in fact, almost identical WITH minimal changes.Due to the IIHS crash test results and POOR rating the 2014/2015 KIA SORENTO models the manufacturer received, it went to address these problems by redesigning the 2016 Sorento without notifying or identifying or repairing the defects in those defective vehicles currently out in the market. IT IS ALSO EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT AND IRRESPONSIBLE OF NHTSA TO POST AN ERRONEOUS 5-STAR RATING ON A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE.
I thought I found my dream car, but ended up having it for just 3 weeks. Two and a half weeks after purchasing, my battery went dead so I had it jumped and my boss checked the oil since the hood was open. He was totally shocked as there was absolutely no oil reading on the stick at all. We went and got a quart of oil and told me to immediately take it to the dealer. The dealer gave me a loaner car for the day so they could make sure there was no damage and said it was fine, topped it off with oil and said there was a loose wire on the battery. Three days later my husband drove the car to the store and called me and said he now knows where the oil is going... Its burning it. He said he saw a stream of smoke as he drove down the road. My first response was, this cant be... I am so in love with this car!! (Crazy I know!)I called the dealership and my husband took it straight there and they said a Kia dealer needs to look at it. Well, long story short and tons of phone calls to the Dealer and Kia Consumer Affairs, there was major sludge in the engine and the engine needed a replacement. According to Carfax, per Kia, there is no indication there was any maintenance to the car which resulted in the sludge. Ive never even heard the word sludge in regards to a car until this and now that Ive researched it... its an ongoing problem. Even though the car is still under the 60,000 mile warranty, Kia is not taking any responsibility and claims the dealer should have checked the car thoroughly before selling it to me. Kia also denied the warranty with this same problem on this car in July 2016 so the original owner traded it in for another victim to purchase and deal with this problem, which ultimately was me. Kia denies the warranty because of no proof of proper maintenance, but yet doesnt protect the next buyer with the sludge problem for this to happen again to an innocent buyer that was in search of a car. They claimed they didnt report things like that to Carfax. I stated, well maybe the owner did his own oil changes like my husband does and maybe it could be a defective problem. Of course there was no reason for them to listen to my plea or opinion. There was no reason for me to know there was any kind of problem. We checked the car out and everything looked great under the hood that we could see as well as the running of the car for the 3 weeks I had it. I just want to make it clear to the next buyer... Just because youre buying a car with a warranty it could have the word if behind it, so please be careful. Check the car fax, obviously its their certifiable proof of the maintenance of the vehicle, (its not just for wrecks anymore), read any lawsuits that are out there and for the lenders, be careful of what youre financing. If a car fax determines the maintenance of a car and a warranty that is not being honored because of it, you could be holding a title of a car that is not even on the road and end up in your parking lot broken down. Meanwhile, the consumers credit that they have worked on for years go to shambles. Personally, I believe over greed and deceit. Ive been without a car for 10 days now and unsure where all of this is going. Loved my car and so did my clients that I drove around. Its a shame how this was handled. I just hope I protect the next person on what to look at before purchasing what they believe has a warranty and is protected.
I bought a 2012 Kia Soul. I bought a new car because I live up north where the winters are cold. So I wanted a new car with a good heater. I dont have that in the Kia Soul. The temp gauge in the car drops and I get cool to lukewarm air. I have taken it to my dealership and they had it almost 2 weeks and nothing. They keep telling me it is normal. I have had several cars and none of them had them temp gauge drop and get warm air or cool. I was told that Kia put in a larger radiator than is needed for this size car and they wont do anything about it. If this is as hot as the Kia Soul gets, then Kia should not be selling it up north where the winters are long and cold. As anyone else had this issue.
I am a little perplexed with your judgement call Kia... I own a 2014 Kia Sorento that’s as apart of your engine recall. The car “passed” the tests ran on it to determine if a new engine was needed, only to have the engine completely cease going 50mph on a major highway in Virginia. I received a call today about an open recall on a fuel pump issue potentially causing fire. While I was aware of this situation due to the national news the issue has received I was not prepared for the supposed resolution to this issue... I was told that I needed to bring the vehicle in for inspection to determine “if they” thought the fuel pump needed to be replaced...So, let me get this straight you want me to yet again trust people that told me my engine was completely fine when it wasn’t to now tell me I don’t need a new fuel pump but potentially catch fire??? Something is seriously wrong with this situation! The fact that you are willing to put peoples safety at jeopardy is disheartening... I have zero trust that if I am told the fuel pump doesn’t need to be replaced that I am safe. You need a better resolution and you need one fast...
I made an appointment a week before my appointment. I was very specific about the recall over the phone when I made my appointment. I have came in. I was very specific when I talk to the front desk why I was there over my recall, I even told them if I need to pull out the paperwork, they corresponding with me acknowledging why I was there. They have told me it will take 2 1/2 hour. After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes I went to the front and I noticed my car has not been pulled in the back so I asked them if they can take me home like some other dealerships do. After talking to them more about this recall they told me that the parts not there and they were trying to do something else with my vehicle that wasn’t approved. Now in February 5 they wanted to put a liner in my gas tank. I told them I did not wanted that done and that’s what they were trying to do and charge me $160 for it without my acknowledgment. Poor customer service. They don’t listen to the customers and after all this the man looked at me like I was the one confused. I would definitely not recommend this business. They honestly don’t care about their customers.
BUYER BEWARE!! This is intended to strongly express a ZERO rating of Corporate Kia, as they refuse to stand by their products and are hurting their dealerships in the process. We have recently become part of a VERY large group of Kia vehicle owners with known defective engines and Corporate Kia refuses to rectify the issue of their poor quality!! We own a Forte with ~79K miles on it that is well kept. When the engine just recently began a loud knocking sound and a timely engine recall notification came to us, we brought it to Kia. After charging us $135 for a diagnostics fee and having our vehicle for literally two weeks (stating that Corporate Kia had been hacked and their systems were in disarray), only to ultimately tell us the engine recall issue DID NOT apply and it would cost us $8,250 for them to put in a USED engine!! Yes, $8,250!! They also stated that our vehicle had been serviced by Kia all along, but that the engine was junk?!? There are many Kia models already in lawsuit settlements for this defective engine issue that surfaces later on, but it is not on the Forte yet. Do a simple Google search and you will discover this. If youre thinking of purchasing, please do your research first, as there are many other car manufacturers out there who do not have this devastating design defect that leaves the owners with big $$$ expenses and no recourse. How Corporate Kia can ignore their consumers and poor quality like this is highly unethical and is why I am posting this!
I had made mention to the sales manager, Nick **, after I had purchased my KIA Soul (2013) new(!) that I had this rough idling when I am at a stop light and/or a stop sign. I was told to make an appointment with their Service Dept. which I did on Jan. 10th. At first, I was told they couldnt find the issue (just idling, not in gear), but I explained to them they need to be in gear, drive it, and at a light - this would follow in just a minute. They did say that it did do this, and did a diagnosis to see if they could pinpoint the issue. But having to see what KIA would come back with, Bert who did this, the Dealership Crown KIA Service Dept told Matt who contacted me, that this was a normal operation for this type of engine? And now, nothing, it seems to be direct on how this was going to end or follow up for a fix and/or repair? Case # is ** and the contact person Ive been dealing with is Melinda. The dealership now tells me there is nothing to do or repair according to KIA manufacturer. Ive driven other Souls at other dealership, and they dont do this? Im just asking to have this fixed, as this is not the way the car should run.
Kia lost a payoff and now wants more money. Kia provided a payoff good through 7-11-16 in the amount of $30,314.32 for Francia **, which was sent and we have a signed receipt for the FedEx package #** on 7-11-16 by someone at KIA. The package was delivered to Payoff Department Kia Motors Finance box 650805 1501 N. Plano R. ste 100 Richardson TX 75081. They have not processed the payoff, and now they are requesting a payoff for $30,625.73 good through 10-8-16. We are asking that they honor the payoff that was quoted on July good through 7-11-16 for $30,314.32.
If youre thinking of buying a Stinger...DONT! Multiple defects, 4 recalls ALREADY, rust coming through paint and chrome. All around bad decision when I bought this car. Save the hassle, save your money and buy a different brand of car. Managers and service department cannot seem to communicate so Im hiring an attorney to get my money back for this overpriced piece of metal. Paint job really sucks. I have cracked paint from front windshield to back windshield and was told not to wash the car! Are you kidding me? Most expensive car Ive ever owned and I cant even wash it?! Im so done! I want my money back!
If you get a traffic violation from and camera- beware. KIA will get the notice and will hold it for weeks, then will pay it for you with all the added penalties and then charge. I had several violations because of a bad transponder. If KIA would have just sent me the notice I could have easily taken care of it for $2 or $4. Instead they withheld the notices, paid it after 6 weeks of when it was issued, sent me the bill to pay them and threatened my immaculate credit when I objected. Filed a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which was a waste of time. Will never deal with KIA in any capacity ever again. Even the owner of the dealership said they were jerks to deal with!
My 2013 KIA Souls clutch blew up at 11,000 miles after purchase. KIAs service department located at Temecula, CA said the warranty does not cover the Clutch because it is a worn item. So I paid the $1,544 for a new one. The replacement clutch grinds in first gear after just 2,000 miles. A friend, who happens to be a top notch auto mechanic, said it has a bad release or throw-out bearing. I can get by with this problem if I use unorthodox methods for shifting in/out of first gear. A mechanic for KIA said the clutches were built to last for 40,000 miles prior to recommended replacement.I contacted the Lawfirm McCuneWright, LLP and they may be interested in a class action lawsuit. They have sued and won huge lawsuits against Hyundia/KIA in the past. I noted there were 1,360 complaints against the clutch, alone (from forums, blogs). Forcing Hyundia/KIA to recall all KIAs/Hyundias from 2010 to 2015 and refunding the clients money would bankrupt them. I have a legal career of approximately 35 years. Hope my experience helps somebody.
I purchased a 2011 Kia Soul on May 24th. I have received the New Vehicle Purchase & Delivery Survey. I have tried to log on to the website to fill out the questionnaire. I get on the website but the user ID & password sent to me doesn’t allow me to access the site. I have tried to get to your main website to report the matter to your customer service department but the website comes up not found.Any ideas on how I can complete the survey online will be most welcome. Thanks.
Kia Optima Hybrid Engine - We were driving home from something on Mothers Day and the car made a loud sound and the engine stopped running. It threw a rod and ruined the engine. Kia now is saying that this is not covered under warranty because the car had the wrong oil filter and was not getting adequate oil in the engine. Havoline says that this is not the case and that it is the proper filter. In addition, even if there were an issue with the filter clogging, it would bypass the filter and oil would still flow. I have done nothing wrong but now I am in a fight. It looks like Kia is trying to just make an excuse instead of actually honoring their warranty responsibility.
2016 Kia Soul. I purchased this car in Oct 2015 with 8 miles on it. I was so happy to have a new dependable car or so I thought. Less than 100 miles in the AC had a terrible stench and there was a noise in the rear suspension, axle when going over bumps. I was told the problem could not be replicated and maybe the car just needed a break in period and me being a woman with a life threatening illness I was like OK. See with Lupus I have to be careful not to get stressed out as that irritates my condition and furthermore I had just had a bout with almost dying from lupus complications and the last thing I wanted was to be upset or frustrated. So due to this I take everything lightly. My biggest mistake!!! 2yrs later those 2 problems are still there and far worse than before and now I have since acquired more issues with my Kia Soul. Mind you there is only 10300 miles on the odometer in roughly 25 months of ownership. So here are the new issues, 3 recalls in 1st yr, rattling in rear around back door, a stalling or dragging in engine when I press the window buttons up or down, absolutely poor gas mileage, car jerks forward when Im at a stoplight or stop sign while my foot is on the brake, grinding noise when braking like there is no brake pad left when clearly there is, very poor quality craftsmanship with the interior, road noise is awful and Bluetooth and hands free calling work intermittently. I am so disappointed in every aspect of my purchase and ownership of this Kia Soul and I wish I had not purchased this piece of junk. Im waiting on Kia to call me back as my case got escalated to whomever, not sure what that means but Ill wait and see if they are willing to stand by their product. As of right now I would not recommend anyone buy anything from Kia. Not even a free muffin or donut. I put $5000 down on this car and now Ill lose all of that plus 2 yrs of payments if I decided to sell. What a mess, everything about this purchase from the start was a red flag. I should have walked away but I needed a car to get me back and forth to my doctors appts as I was literally fighting to stay alive and believe it or not Im still in the fight of my life as doctors can not get my lupus under control and my health is more down than up, but Im hoping that I will not have to fight with Kia to make this right. All I can do now is put my faith and trust in God, let go and allow for him to work for me. My advice to all potential car buyers is steer clear of Kia until they iron out the kinks and stop lying about gas mileage or their supposed JD power awards. This car is just not worth what I paid for it and the problems scare me into thinking this vehicle may let me down during one of my lupus episodes and my life will be at risk due to all the problems. If I could turn back the hands of time, I would drive right past the Kia lot. Dont make the same mistake I did, run in the opposite direction of Kia and keep running, dont slow down. Dont stop and dont look back.
