Automobile Troubleshooting

CHECKING AND CHANGING THE OIL IS ESSENTIAL CADILLAC MAINTENANCE
While most Cadillac owners know that their oil needs to be checked and changed, many don’t understand why. The first thing most teenage drivers are told is that the oil is the lifeblood of their engine. The oil in your engine keeps the internal moving parts lubricated.
If the oil level is low or the oil in question is too thick, providing this lubrication will be impossible. The longer a car owner allows this to go on, the more damage they will ultimately have to face. Internal parts moving without lubrication will create lots of friction, which can destroy them.
Trying to handle the oil-changing process alone is a bad idea. Professionals will have the tools and the experience needed to get this work done correctly and efficiently, making it well worth the money spent.

KEEPING YOUR AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM WORKING IS VITAL
The first thing you will notice when jumping behind the wheel of a Cadillac for the first time is how smooth and comfortable the ride is. One of the main reasons for this smooth ride is the air suspension systems common in this brand of automobile. While other car brands use gas-filled shocks and struts for their suspension, the team at Cadillac prefers air suspension.
These systems provide a consistently smooth and comfortable ride, but they do need maintenance over time. The main thing a mechanic will do when servicing these air suspension systems is to check the airlines and fittings. Over time, these fittings may work themselves loose.
If the fittings are loose, mechanics can tighten them up to avoid problems in the future. An experienced mechanic will also check your air suspension system for leaks. Allowing these leaks to persist weakens your air suspension system, which is why allowing professionals to find and fix these problems is important.

KEEP YOUR CADILLAC’S CHARGING SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL
Starting and operating your Cadillac is only possible when all of the components of your charging system are functional. This system is made up of important parts like the battery and alternator. There will come a time when one of these components goes out and will have to be replaced.
The best way to find out about charging system issues before they leave you stranded on the side of the road is by having them tested by professionals. Extreme changes in temperature can often lead to the cells in a battery going bad. If all of the battery cells don’t function, the battery will be unable to hold a charge.
Most mechanics have diagnostic tools that allow them to test the battery and alternator in your Cadillac. If these components are unable to pass the test, your mechanic can replace them before they stop working altogether. Allowing professionals to handle this complicated work is crucial when trying to avoid problems with your vehicle.

REPLACING WORN-OUT BRAKING COMPONENTS
Car owners get so used to their braking system working that they begin to take it for granted. Without the right amount of care and maintenance, it is only a matter of time before this system starts to fail. As time goes by, the components of a Cadillac’s braking system, like any other car, will start to wear out.
Allowing a mechanic to inspect vital brake parts like the rotors, calipers, and brake pads is a wise idea. With the information from this inspection, professionals can provide you with guidance regarding what needs to be replaced. Operating a vehicle that has worn-out pads or rotors can be dangerous.
If you start to notice loud squealing or screeching noises when trying to bring your vehicle to a stop, scheduling an appointment with a mechanic is a smart move. These noises typically occur when braking components need replacing.

KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR TIRES
Most car owners ignore the condition of their tires until it is too late. Instead of waiting until one of your tires blows out, put checking these parts near the top of your Cadillac maintenance checklist.
It’s a good idea to check the tire pressure and tread to assess the overall condition of your tires. If your tires are consistently losing pressure, then chances are you have a leak that needs to be repaired. Mechanics should let you know whether you need to patch the tire in question or completely replace it.

I purchased a preowned 2006 Cadillac CTS 1 week ago and two days later with my new expensive car, the car barely accelerated from a stop. I was almost t-boned 3 times already. My gas mileage is terrible due to the car not shifting out of 4th gear. No 5th. I have to floor the pedal just to creep up to speed, then the car wont shift so it runs high RPMs burning gas. I have read numerous things about this car shutting off, starting on fire, extensive repairs OMG! It is currently under recall for an ignition switch that just shuts off, this disables, brakes, steering, oh yeah and the air bags! Great! Visited two different GM dealerships who showed no concern or offered anything but expensive diagnostic fees. Never mind that I might not love looking enough to make the appointment in the defective POS that Ive just saddled myself with! The car only has 56k miles on it. I paid 15 grand for it and have a large monthly payment. I own an import (German) with 157000 miles it and it runs like a top and I own it. Guess which car I drive! Thank you Audi for being everything GM is not. My advice finance companies and banks should stop providing financing for this entire GM line since once you are Dumb enough to own one you cant give it away. If no one can finance one people would still getting ripped off and maybe GM would start to build a quality product and back it! And the finance companies and banks would stop going out with a repo company and picking them up. That is where mine will end up going. No one can offer a solution on what is wrong! So it can sit and rot until they come get it and my credit will suck and the bank will lose money. In the end, the crooks at GM got paid so what do they care! Listen up banks - avoid GM car financing like the plague, especially the Cadillac CTS!

Our experience with the SRX has been bad from the start. Cue system, transmission troubles but now they will not stand behind a poor product design with the headlight problem. This is a safety problem for whoever drives this car at night. It is a well documented problem that they will not stand behind. Shame on you Cadillac, when someone dies it will be on you.

I bought a new 2011 Escalade ESV. The rims are rusting and flaking, and the chrome trim package is rusting. Cadillac and the dealership’s response is that its from chemicals put on the road and its not their problem. My Escalade never is dirty. When I drive on snowy roads, its washed immediately. In 45 years of owning vehicles, Ive never had a vehicle with rust problems. I bought an $82,000 Escalade. I have rust issues and I have lived in snow country all my life so I know all about chemicals on the roads. This is my last Cadillac. Dont make the same mistake I did. Stay away from Cadillac. I thought that at least Cadillac would come back with an offer to replace rusting rims and trim at their cost or a discounted price. They made no attempt to rectify the problem. Cadillac customer service very poor and Cadillac is not concerned about your problems.

I bought a car from our agency in Dubai Liberty. They sell GM Motors cars. I bought a Cadillac CTS 2011 V6. In the beginning, the car is great and without any problem. It’s the best car I ever drove in my life and I gave it as a gift for my wife. She was more than happy to have a CTS. She drove it till the first service. We took it to the service in Dubai (Garhood branch). After the service by 3 weeks, we were coming from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and driving at normal speed of 130 km/h, then suddenly the we heard a bomb sound and a smoke coming from the engine. Thank God we stopped and no one crashed us from back. The street was full of oil from the damaged engine. We called the street help and then we took the car to the service at Garhood branch in Dubai. And after a day they called us and said, “Sorry, the engine is damaged. We will send an approval to GM mother company to change the engine. But we don’t want to repair it because it wasn’t our mistake.” The car must be changed and they ignored me. Kindly support me in this.

I have a 2015 Cadillac CTS and it’s been nothing but problems once I passed 65,000. The rear differential began to go out around this time. Also the CUE in dash screen began to crack internally around 74,000 miles. Both are very expensive items to replace. Cadillac only offered to pay for 40% of my differential repairs even though the differential began to go out under warranty. Also the CUE screen is no longer under warranty. This is my first car where I need to have 2 major repairs and the car is under 100,000 miles. SMH.

We leased a Cadillac ATS turbo 2013. Thank God that we leased this vehicle and not purchased it. The car exterior is very appealing. The interior is not bad, the CUE system is horrible to operate while driving. Handling is very good, acceleration is excellent. But we have been having problems with this vehicle ever since we got it. It had front end problems twice, the radio is basically obsolete since its always acquiring the HD signal and is not pleasant to hear, already had about 7 recalls on it. Every couple of months the car goes back to the shop for different problems. As a matter of fact its in the shop now. There was noise coming from the engine and they found loose screws. The car had a terrible vibration on rear window area so they notified me that all 4 rims are bent due to potholes. Now how can that be possible? I have owned about 15 different vehicles and not one of them ever had a problem with a bent rim nevermind all 4 of them. My opinion is that these rims were made with cheap materials and have a design fault. This has to be the worst vehicle we have ever had and theres no pleasure in driving it. Maybe I got a lemon but I have received no help from the dealership.

I purchased brand new Cadillac Xts in 2016, after being a proud cadillac owner if several prior vehicles. From day one, this car has been a nightmare! When it was delivered the paint was messed up and it took so long to repair I made my first payment before I received the vehicle (paint still not perfect). It was so bad a cadillac rep had to come view it. My car since day one has occasionally shook when being crunk. The check engine light would immediately pop on, but when car was restarted it would go away. I was told several times by the dealership that they could only fix it if the check engine light stayed on.There were other issues as well, We were told by the General Manager not to worry. Cadillac would do a buyback and gives us 10% off of msrp of a new Cadillac. The dealership has since closed, getting Cadillac to do the right thing seems to be a nightmare! We have been dedicated Cadillac owners and never had a prior issue, this is extremely disappointing!

I bought a 2009 CTS top of the line model in March of this year 500 miles after I left the dealership the check engine light came on. I put it in Levis Cadillac in Slidell, LA, for two weeks they had it and said that it was a problem with the coolant area of the car and that they had fixed it. Well in two weeks the light came on again, GUESS WHAT, the same problem. OK back to the shop I go, this time it was the end of April and they had the car for (three) weeks. I picked the car up in or on May 20th drove out the service dept. I went 25 miles, THE LIGHT CAME AGAIN !!! So I finished my business in New Orleans, LA and took it back to the Levis Cadillac. They said they would call Cadillac Technical for help. They told them to replace the same parts as before and it should be fixed. It has taken them and Cadillac until yesterday which was JUNE 25TH to so called fix the car. I picked it up at 10:30 - got on the Highway to go to the VA Hospital in New Orleans. NOW THIS IS THE PART I JUST CANT BELIEVE, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN on my way to my doctors appointment. When I got done at the V A I drove straight back to the dealership service department and they said they would be happy to look at but its the same problem, OH MY GOD. Could someone help me out. I bought this Cadillac CTS and have only put 750 miles on it since. The car only has 46,058 miles on it! I feel like a total jerk. Ive owned 5 Cadillacs and I also own a 06 STS4, and I have had all kinds of problems with it. Well I think its time for me to reevaluate my GM LOYALTY. This sucks.......

The model is also equipped with a digital read outs that check condition of the car. The DTS has leather interior it makes the ride extremely nice. The car comes with a large trunk which makes it easy to carry luggage and other items as well. One of our favorite upgrades are the seats, they have the option to make them hotter or colder. We also love the digital readout of tire, and engine conditions, as well as the temperature read out of the outside and inside of the car. The car can hold up to three passengers in the front and back with bench seats up front. There is plenty of leg room for passengers as well.

We purchased a new 2016 Cadillac XTS4 in September 2015 from Cadillac Deale
We purchased a new 2016 Cadillac XTS4 in September 2015 from Cadillac Dealer Taylor Automotive in Toledo, OH. My wife is the primary driver and she drives only 4,000 to 5,000 miles per year. A few months after the purchase the battery was dead after not being driven for only 7 days. The salesman then advised us that the amount of electronic devices in the vehicle will drain the battery in a week or less. Even though he was aware of my wifes minimal driving, no mention of the inadequate battery support system in the vehicle was made until our first dead battery experience. It has occurred 5 times since it was purchased. This means that we must carry a jump start battery pack inside the car (not the trunk) and a tool to remove the key lock cover from the drivers door just to get access to the interior to pop the hood in order to do the jump start. When leaving the vehicle at an airport for a one week or longer trip, you can be assured that the car will require a jump start. How could General Motors have done such a poor, incomplete, inadequate engineering job on what they classify as a luxury vehicle for which we paid over $50,000.00? We are looking into the Lemon Laws in OH and we will pursue Legal Action if General Motors fails to correct this problem which is certainly causing many Cadillac owners the same problem. There are many other true Luxury vehicles on the market that do not have this problem because the engineering departments of those car companies figured a way to cut current drain while the vehicle is not being driven or they provided a battery electrical system that is designed to support normal vehicle operation without starting the vehicle every few days just to keep the battery charged. This problem should not exist in any automobile, much less one that represents General Motors top line brand and in this case the largest and most expensive sedan vehicle. I would caution anyone considering the purchase of any new Cadillac vehicle to question the dealer extensively and make sure the car you purchase or lease doesnt have this inherit problem. Even if you are a long term Cadillac driver you should look seriously at other Luxury Vehicle options.

I just got off the phone with Cadillac and I have to say that it was one of the worst experiences that Ive ever had with regards to a vehicle I own. I first called Cadillac on Monday, October 9, 2017 and I asked to speak to a manager but the representative told me that one was not available and that one would call me back within 24 hours. The next day (Tuesday) I called again and received the same response. I called again on Wednesday and the representative was going to tell me the same thing again but I decided to explain my situation to her. I told her that I was in need of a vehicle repair because of bad parts that Cadillac installed in my truck when manufactured. The proof is in the attached image of a service bulletin. She then told me that she would get back to me after she investigated what could be done.So today Thursday I received a call from the representative, Alicia, and she says that because it was a service bulletin and not a manufacturer recall that nothing can be done. I stated to her that for there to be a service bulletin, there had to be many customer complaints experiencing the same issue so thats why the service bulletin was created to let the mechanics know that there are bad parts in my vehicle. She stated that because the trend of complaints werent big enough, a recall was not made. So my response was, how do you define how great of a trend a mechanical problem has to be before it is considered a recall? In my eyes it appears that Cadillac does not want to fork the bill for repair so they deliberately classified this mechanical problem as a low trend of complaints not worthy of an official recall so that they can pass the expense to the consumer.I totally understand their stance but is this fair to the average consumer to have to come up with thousands of dollars for a transmission related repair even if Cadillac knew that there were bad parts in my specific year/model of my vehicle? This is not morally right in my eyes and probably in the eyes of consumers that have been forced to pay out of pocket for similar situations. She asked me if it was ok to record the call at the beginning of the call in which I agreed. However I also took it upon myself to record the call as well and it is available for you to scrutinize if needed. My Cadillac case number is **. I truly hope that Cadillac can do the right thing which is to pay for repairs. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

But I am stuck with it because the CARFAX and Repair history, basically, makes it non-tradable or sellable. This car has been in the shop about every 2 1/2 weeks over the 2 years I have owned it. 46 issues have been fixed or replaced. I called Cadillac Customer Service for help. I was assigned a District Rep, who does not call me back, and never answers his phone when I call. He has been dodging me for over a month now. I want my B2B warranty extended to cover the stuff that keeps falling off, because I only have 3k miles left on the factory B2B, and the extended GM warranty does not cover things like trim, vents, handles, doors, etc.The district rep said When you make as many cars as Cadillac, some of them are not going to be perfect and then proceeded to get me to hang up the phone. I have not gotten to speak with him since. I guess, once Cadillac has written you off, you are dust to them. The dealership has been wonderful but GM/Cadillac, not so much. I am a owner of a 2012 Cadillac SRX. My husband and I had started to notice our low beam lights getting dim to the point that driving at night is next to impossible without the high beams and we were trying to figure out how to come up with the money to get our vehicle’s lights repaired thinking it was just something that happened over time. Recently 02/24/20 we received a letter in the mail that GM was offering to reimburse customers up to 800.00 per headlight who had spent money out of pocket to get the issue corrected. Well my first thought was great we don’t have to worry about how we are going come up with the money because GM is acknowledging that this is an issue on their end and we could just take our vehicle to the dealership show them the letter and they would fix our lights. WRONG! When I called the dealership we were told GM would NOT pay upfront for our repairs although they are AWARE of the issues with the SRX’s headlights. They are only willing to reimburse after repairs are done which could cost the customer up to 1,600.00. So my question next was what if the customer cannot afford the expense upfront? GM’s answer was, SORRY WE CANNOT HELP YOU....I cannot explain how taken advantage of I felt, Shame on you GM. You acknowledge upfront the problem is moisture related issues causing headlights that you placed in these vehicle to fail but you will only reimburse those who can afford to have them fixed first on their own if then.... During research I read reviews where some people have been waiting months to get their money back. I am not sure what is going to happen in my case but for anyone reading this review please beware. It is unacceptable how GM treats its customers and their their regard for customer safety. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them!

I purchased 2004 Cadillac SRX and thought it was a nice car. That has turned out to be the complete opposite. As of this writing, the car has only 90000 miles, the engine has been replaced, and for what my dealer said was a dropped valve. The radiator has been replaced, the transmission and/or its parts, and so many other problems that are too numerous to mention here. The car was towed in again last night with a bad water pump. The dealer said it is still under warranty and will cost me nothing, thus, being the good news. The bad news is the transfer case chain is slipping and is going to be 1,700.00 dollars. I thought, how much have I spent on that car? I called Matt, the service manager and he only said its a ridiculous amount of money. I suppose the bills on this car is well over what I spent buying the car 2-fold. I want to mention the $400.00 headlight and the $1000.00 plus radiator that got broken while fixing the engine, that I paid for. I have owned several Cadillacs and that my friend is about to change. Cadillac has a large variety of cars that come in very upper class styles. It is very good for the older class of people and the very wealthy upper class. It is very regal in styling and uses very good edges. This is a very good brand that has a lot of high marks that makes it such an amazing brand. It can hold many people which makes it seem more roomy. The space in the back for tall people makes the car feel more accepting for the vertically gifted. It usually has all the best gadgets like a backup camera and heated steering wheel and seats that make the car feel better for the general population.

My dad had Cadillac for years. Ive known many people who have had Cadillacs. They are extremely comfortable to sit in and drive. The cars takes curves well. I love my car. I like leather seats. Its luxurious. The seats are really to the point to where you can fall asleep. It also has seat warmers so when its cold out your back will be warm. It also has a Bose radio so sound is really good. It has a large trunk and great for carrying Christmas trees. The color is a warm beige and has gloss on it. However, the headrests dont hit me right. My head hits the metal part. Also, the air conditioner has broken down already.

The Escalade is a great SUV, with power and luxury. It has great handling, excellent 4WD and came with a standard antitheft system. The STS gets good gas mileage for a luxury sedan. It has intelligent beam headlights and has some great features. It also has a phenomenal audio system and I upgraded to deluxe CD player system. I bought the last model year in 2011 and loved the 3.6 L V-6 engine. It has heated seats, heated steering wheel, easy to use cruise control, heated mirrors, rear seats which fold down, and the center armrest has a pass thru. It makes it easy to put fishing poles and/or skis in the trunk. The interior is roomy. It can easily accommodate five adult passengers or six if some are children. Theres enough legroom in the back so that no ones knees are hitting the back of the front seat, even when the driver has the seat back.

I just love this brand of car for its passenger capacity.

I purchased a 2006 Cadillac CTS November 2010. Prior to this, the vehicle was under my mothers ownership and care. She purchased the vehicle directly from the Cadillac dealership. While using the CTS I assured it received the required maintenance such as oil changes, etc. February 2015 I noticed one night the vehicle began driving a little sluggish. I decided once I got home I would call in the morning to schedule an appointment. The next day I started the car and it would not turn over. It was below zero degrees that day so I accounted the issue to the weather. A few days later when the temperatures improved, I started the vehicle again with negative results.I had the vehicle towed to the local Cadillac dealership. They conducted a diagnostic exam of the engine (taking it apart) which costs $500 just for the techs to examine it. They called advising me the timing chain jumped 5 teeth on primary gear at crankshaft and there was low pressure in cylinder #6. In other words, they told me I would require a new engine at $9000! That is the new engine price and labor costs. I said no thank you, so they put the parts back in and I had the car towed to my residence. After further investigation, I realized this issue is more common than I thought. Several Cadillacs that are a CTS and other models have experienced similar issues. When I spoke with auto technicians about the issue for a second and third opinion, they gave similar responses. One auto tech that teaches automotive at the local high school and a technical school stated there are a lot of problems with Cadillac engines, especially North Star engines. He didnt even want to get a used engine for me afraid that it would also have engine trouble eventually and waste my money. He said my year and model are commonly known to have this issue. If this is indeed a common issue, why is there not a recall or lemon law case introduced? The dealer and Cadillac Corp is refusing to fix it because they state the power train warranty is up. Of course its up around the timeframe the engines begin to fail. A guy once told me when he saw me with the car be careful because after 100,000 miles they go downhill. They dont make them and build them to last like the old schools. I chalked it up to him being bitter. His Cadillac DTS transmission had to be replaced. He sold the vehicle quickly after and now I see why. I should have listened to him and sold it then.

I called Cadillac on 5/42018 to get warranty information on my daughters Cadillac ATS. I explained the problems and was told by Elise that a service rep would contact me in two days. I asked, Since today is Thursday will I get a call by Saturday or Monday. She stated, Monday 5/7/2018 no later. On May 8, 2018 I called again due to dealer needing to know what my decision was on repairs and again I was told I would get a call on Monday, May 7th, 2018.Here it is Monday, May 7, 2018 and I have not received a call from anyone at Cadillac. I called them four times and was hung up on 3 times. My daughter was hung up on and when my daughter called back the Rep Nash kept rudely talking over my daughter and interrupting her explaining the issues. Nash kept insisting she put my daughter in voicemail instead of putting her on hold. Our response from Cadillac is April the service advisor is not available. The Rep refused to let her hold for April. It is now 6:50 p.m. CST and still no return call from April (service rep) from Cadillac. Very poor customer service, and disrespectful. They definitely do not have the customers interest in mind.

2012 CTS Bought from Crest Cadillac in Hoover, Al. Bought car new off lot Nov. 2012. Within 3 months engine light on. Took to dealer said nothing was wrong. Another month light came on again. Took back said something with injectors. Was not sure. I think they replaced one. Car hesitates, the RPMs rev up to 4K when Im going downhill or even going around 45 MPH. While sitting still, rpm goes from 1 to 0 constantly and the air stops cooling at same time. I have taken back so many times I have lost count. I ask before 50K warranty went out to put on diagnostic. They said nothing was wrong with it, no reason to. Still doing same thing. I have been called a liar and made fun of. When I pull up, I am treated like I am there for nothing. My car is a LEMON and I am not going to stop till something is done about it. This is the first new car I have ever bought. I thought it would be the last due to the reputation and supposed quality of a Cadillac. If I ever get out of this car, I will NEVER buy another Cadillac. I have contacted a lawyer and I do want something done. I was told that if the car computer doesnt say it happened, it didnt happen (Wow, a manmade computer). I need someone to contact me so that I can get info on who to speak with about car asap.

CUE went out, transmission wouldnt shift properly (torque converter), 3 recalls, sun visor fell out of the headliner, not to mention the cabin rattled like an old junker that three dealerships tried to fix to no avail. 2001 Cadillac Seville STS 4 dr - I bought a used 2001 STS in approx 2010 with 96,000 miles on it. I’m a diehard GM man, my father was and my son is. I own 4 GMs at the moment. I’ve been reading these complaint issues, and as much as feel for the people writing them, my car has been running perfectly. I’ve replaced the HUD light as soon as I bought knowing it needed. Later, I replaced the AC Fan motor with an OEM unit and a new battery again OEM just recently as the vehicle had remained in a car storage unit for a year here in Ft. Lauderdale. The car does have a vibration between 64 and 72 MPH and seems to perform best at 80 MPH including best MPG. I love my Cadillac and maintain it to like new showroom condition. I need to replace the turn signal flasher at the moment, but just consumable items. I also noticed the relay for the starter is somewhat discolored due to heat and will replace it before anything happens.

So far I have had nothing but problems with my 2009 CTS. Ive gotten to the point where I absolutely regret even seeing it for sale on the lot, I wish I had bought ANYTHING else. I bought the car last year with around 80k miles on it. The first thing that should have been a sign that their customer service was in the toilet was when my local Cadillac dealer did a $100 oil change for me. They failed to attach the rock shield to the bottom of the car and after it tore off sounding like all hell breaking loose in their lot, they blamed me for my car missing a screw.. underneath... like I daily check those screws. And if it was missing why the heck did it stay on the car until they worked on it? My car is still naked under there. Thanks Cadillac. After a month of having the car I get the check engine light. I connect to OnStar who tells me my Auxiliary Water pump is going out. $250 later thats all better. After two months my rear door locks stopped working, I called the dealer and gave up when I was quoted $400 in labor alone. Fast forward another two months and now my car consistently overheats. Additionally I got that bad water pump code AGAIN (gosh those things are made well) - $250 AGAIN and its all better. My Daytime running lights go on and off randomly, one at a time. I look so great in my car. No one even has a clue as to why this is happening. Now my Forward adaptive lighting has started to malfunction. The passenger side bulb has turned completely purple, which sounds cool but none of the other ones are. I didnt mind replacing it myself so I started looking into it. So I have to remove the entire front of the car to change the headlight. OK no problem, Im no Einstein but I can handle some screws right? That wouldnt be a problem if I could find the bulb.I contacted Customer Service and they were anything but friendly. I tried to get help finding out where to get the bulb, but the guy copied and pasted me a bunch of website addresses that I had already searched to no avail trying to find the headlight assembly. Then asked me what I was hoping to get from contacting them, what an **. I just WANT A PART NUMBER. WHY IS THAT SO HARD?At this point Ive decided I HATE my car and Cadillac in general. I thought they had really shifted gears, and I really enjoyed my older V which is why I bought this car, but boy howdy this is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. So now I have a 2009 Cadillac that I cant lock the doors on or drive at night, and Im scared to take it out of town because Im afraid the mystery auxiliary water pump will strand me. Im borrowing a friends 2000 Toyota to make my trip. Is this really the new Cadillac? I feel duped, tricked and stuck with this thing. If anyone from Cadillac happens to see this, Id love to know where to get that bulb. Im visually impaired in one eye so having two headlights would be great. Let me know.

I am a victim of bad work performed on my vehicle by the service department
I am a victim of bad work performed on my vehicle by the service department, unethical car service practices and unheard-of customer resolution at Suburban Cadillac Plymouth, 40475 Ann Arbor Rd., Plymouth MI. I took my car in for service on 6/2/17 and the dealership had my car for over 2 months which caused me great concern. I researched the Timing Change job that was being done and learned it was a very tedious job. When I finally received my vehicle, cost $3111.01 which my warranty covered 100% but $750.00 was rolled over to me due to dealership not accepting $70 per hour labor cost and I had to make up difference. The next day while heading to work I noticed my XM Satellite radio wasn’t working. I called my Cadillac representative, ** to report the issue. He stated, “I’m sorry to hear that but that has nothing to do with the work that was done on your car and there are no loaner cars available at the time, you can schedule a loaner car but know this will be a separate issue/charge.” I explained these things were working prior to car repair and please have techs go over their work. It could have been the way they re-assembled things back together that obviously effected something else. My rep ** states to bring it in but understand no dealership responsibility and expect new charges.Upon arrival I ask to speak with the service director, **. He appeared friendly and sympathetic to what had happened to my car but agreed with his rep, **. When I ask ** to speak with someone higher up he declined and stated he is the only one that can assist. I insisted and he left the office briefly and returned with a business card of a manager under him. I was insulted and felt disrespected with the treatment of the team working together against me, the customer. He had me sign papers agreeing to check the vehicle for 130.00 fee. He gave me a loaner car and said, “Have a nice day. We will call you.”I received the call maybe a week and half later with ** asking for permission for a tech to drive my car home to ensure engine light doesn’t come back on. It is determined pass 50 miles, I gave consent. The next week ** called to say they have an estimate for my car. “The radio needs replacing cost $1600.00 because Sirius Radio stated the issue is not on their end, and by the way, while your car was being test driven something pertaining to the brakes collapsed and that will cost you $700, your total bill $2500.00 warranty doesn’t cover nor the dealership. The remainder covers the engine light and lockout issue. Let us know how you would like to proceed.”At this point I felt raped by these unheard-of business practices and called in later in an effort to reach a higher up. I left several messages on ** phone but received no call back. I was passed around the dealership and sent to voicemails with no return calls after leaving a couple messages. Much happened in between that revealed their dishonesty and how they worked together to ensure I didn’t speak with someone in authority to attend to this matter.I picked my car up today 10/3/17 paying 751.00 for the brake collapsed incident that happened while at dealership. Of course, my satellite radio still not functioning due to me declining to pay 1600.00 for a problem that occurred with them working on my car. And my computer system is now out of whack; voice commands no longer working, cd player not working, sound system poor sounding. I could have taken my car to a non-Cadillac qualified mechanic but felt Cadillac was top of line service. I am sick about the condition my car is now in. A couple of similar unethical instances happened to me within the past 2 years but were resolved satisfactorily via escalation so I continued to do business with this location but with this last instance and seeing this is a trend and now their normal practices, it’s clear I need to get the attention of someone who cares about the bottom line of the company. What Im asking for is the dealership take ownership for their work which is the right thing to do -- refund my money for the incident that occurred while they had my car (mechanic took my car home) and put my car back in the condition it arrived in, working satellite radio (which I’m paying monthly services for) and reset or adjust my computer system. Voice commands no longer work. All inside controls and functions were working perfectly prior to the major repair done on my vehicle. The work they performed had nothing to do with these issues but obviously the way they reassembled my vehicle affected these things. They tore my engine down; kept my car 2 1/2 months, something obviously went wrong.Suburban Cadillac is using dealership mechanical lingo and rhetoric to mask what really happened and it is extremely frustrating that they have charged me 3111.00 plus 750.00 within 30-days to return my car to me out of whack and satellite radio not working. The radio is fine but the XM Satellite whom I’m paying monthly subscription is no longer working after car pickup. I filed a complaint with GM website, mailed a letter to corporate and spoke with someone finally at GM Customer Care on 10/17/17. They stated they spoke with Suburban Cadillac and must believe the experts and it’s nothing they can do. She was young and appeared insincere and indifferent to what had happened to me. She spoke very fast as if reading from a script and closed the matter. So now I’m reaching out to Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General because the dealership has taken my money and left my vehicle with problems and no repair shop wants to go behind their work. Respectfully, Ripped-Off Customer.

The passenger capability is very good as well because it has a safe proof belt as in seatbelt because in case of an accident it actually holds everything down. Driving is very easy. I bought my 2007 Cadillac for my birthday in 2013. Its been a nightmare since. To be fair, I dont place my blame solely on Cadillac, but also on Rancho Motor Company in Victorville, California. I have spent the last year trying to get the engine light on my car corrected. To date Ive had the o2 sensor, timing solenoid, spark plugs, and ignition coils replaced. None of this solved the problem. On Monday 9/28/15 I took my car back into the dealership one more time for an oil change and diagnostic. This time they finally tell me that the timing chain needs to be replaced and that its going to cost me $2500. Disappointed and angry for being lied to for so long, I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion. This is when I learned that a recall was issued for the timing chain in 2014 and I was not notified. This is also when I learn that the recall is void when the car reaches 120000 miles. My car is now at 123000 and the dealership refuses to honor the recall.I was also told that I was not contacted about the warranty because since it isnt a safety recall, consumers were only made aware of the recall if their call showed signs of timing chain problems. In other words, Cadillac and Rancho Motors dont respect their customers. They knew in 2014 what was wrong with my car. There is no way they couldnt. Now my car is unsafe to drive and the timing chain and snap at any moment.

I bought my Cadillac CTS almost exactly one year ago. I was driving home from work last week and I had numerous alarms go off. Only had 1st gear and no power at all. The display showed traction control malfunction, and I pulled over right away. The car went straight to the local GM dealership. The service writer told me it could be a number of things and he would have a tech look at it. Gave me a ride home, no loaners. He called back that afternoon and told me the problem was the transmission module and solenoid, pulled pan and replace parts, fluid, and filter. $1500.00! I couldnt believe it, I told him the car only has 82000 miles on it and the transmission was just serviced at 70000 miles, maintenance. I am going to ask for the old part back and somehow come up with the $1500.00.

2004 Cadillac SRX - I purchased a 2004 Cadillac SRX a few years ago 85,000 miles. Ive never heard of the car and was excited to own such a great looking car. Everywhere I went people gave me compliments (I had to swag it out a bit :) ). I loved the way this car looked - it definitely stands out from the rest. However, this car was a love hate relationship - starting from the 1st week. The car spent more time in repair shop than I actually drove it. Im a bit smarter now. Purchasing a car close to 100k is a bad idea. You just might as well buy a newer car. The repairs went into the thousands easily. Everything was breaking down and needed to be replaced. I was afraid to even drive the car after while, because the car can just shut down if there is a problem (youre unaware of)/I wouldve like some type of warning sign. Long story short - I ended up parking the car for a while until I was able to buy a new car (foreign). I still love they way they look but I would never buy one again. These cars are all over Craigslist now for pretty cheap which should tell you a lot.

I bought a 2005 Cadillac CTS. I was having to constantly put oil in it. I changed it every 3000 miles. I went to visit my dad in Iowa. During the first four hours, we had to add 4 quarts of oil to the car. Then 20 minutes from our destination, we hear a pop. The car engine dies. No brakes while driving 70 miles an hour. Thank God no one got hurt or died. We had it towed to the car repair shop. They said the engine is shot and I needed a new one. Upon researching we find out through numerous blogs that this is a constant problem with the CTS for this year, happened to numerous people and yet Cadillac does nothing to warn people or to repair the issues. What are they waiting for, people to die? Someone needs to do something about this. They should not be allowed to charge you a ton of money for their elite cars that have issues, get complaints, but yet do nothing about it.

The reason it is normal is because GM has changed the composite material to save money on brake pads. Now you get squeaking brakes with your new car purchase!I contacted Cadillac customer care and was advised to get a second opinion. I took the car to the Pensacola dealer and got the same result and explanation. We know it is not the dealers fault that GM will not support their product! Nevertheless, the service departments are taking the negative hit for GM’s lack of customer satisfaction. Only after I would not give high marks did I start receiving calls from Cadillac pretending to care and gathering the same information time and time again with the promise of a call from a supervisor. The call never came! I certainly did not want to post this but GM simply does not care about the purchaser of their product once you have purchased. I have driven GM autos for 43 years but never again after this. All I want is my brakes to stop squeaking and GM is too cheap to even allow a replacement set to be put on. Maybe because squeaking breaks are now normal operations for GM autos now as stated by the GM engineer. I say replace them and let’s see. But again I am just your average car buyer not anyone with influence to be treated fairly by GM.

I bought a new 2016 Cadillac CTS a bit over a year ago. The car is a damn good looking machine. However, it’s also been falling to pieces like a cheap piece of junk. The leather interior has already started delaminating from the doors, the heater won’t work, the cue system has gone haywire and a multitude of other serious problems for a new car to be having. I’m disappointed that Cadillac’s quality turned out to be so shoddy. However, dealing with Cadillac as a company has been absolutely infuriating. I have been trying to get them to do the warranty repairs for over six months and they have been absolutely impossible to deal with. They do not stand behind their product. I’ve wanted a Cadillac for a long time and I was really happy the day I bought it but now that I’ve owned one and had to deal with their poor quality control and abysmal customer service I would absolutely warn anyone considering buying a Cadillac not to. Cadillac is a sexy car with some prestige associated with its brand but in reality it’s a poorly made car with one of the worst companies I’ve ever had to deal with.

In April 2006, I purchased Cadillac STS V8, 1G6DC67A760130685/130685, from your Agent in Oman (Oman Technical Establishment). The navigation system was out of date and the TV reception was very poor. We took the car to the agent for repair. Unfortunately, they were not helpful and their reply was unsatisfactory. They told us that the TV reception is poor in all STS model and that they have no solution to it. With regard to the navigation system, they told us that we should pay considerable amount for updating it. The car was returned to us.At the beginning of May 2012, the audio system in the car stopped working. We took it for repair. Unfortunately again, the agency told us that they do not have a technician to repair it. Instead, they would send the car to Dubai to get the audio system repaired there and it would take 3-4 weeks to get it back. We asked if the agent will give us a car for our usage during the period of repair, but they refused. The car was returned to us. Navigation system, TV reception, and audio system are not working in our car. The agent did nothing to get our complaints solved. How can a GM sole agent in the country without a technician to repair the audio system and TV reception?

What they had then and what they have now are different. A Cadillac no matter what model is a prime car at that time and very dependable. You cant go wrong with one. This was my 1st car in 1962. It had a sleek body style with sort of mud flaps called wings which clipped on the back tires. It had everything the cadillac had to offer. Radio, heat, air which was about it back then. The car had both a front and a back full bench seat that would ride 6 to 8, very comfortable and has plenty of leg room.

My overall experience with my beautiful Cadillac has been amazing. My Cadillac was the first luxury car Ive ever owned or purchased. It was pricier than other cars Ive owned but Ive never once regretted this purchase. This car has taken me amazing places and has been completely dependable and reliable. I love the sleek, modern look of my Cadillac CTS. This car’s interior features are what had me sold. This car contains a beautiful leather interior with heated seats and is extremely spacious inside. The only thing that I dislike about it is the poor gas mileage my Cadillac gets. There have been times Ive been on long commutes and have watched the gas gauge go down in front of my eyes.

Back in 1996 I bought the most beautiful Concours Cadillac, fully loaded brand new. After warranty went off the car started giving me problems. We have taken it GM Cadillac repairs, they drove it on streets and the same thing happened to them. Car stopped running. They saw it about 3 times and never found the problem. Now GM recalled many cadillacs with the same problem. How do I write the Big GM company. They are claiming 2015 have starter problem & I believe mine is too. What should I do. I want to keep it, I love it.

I have severe scratch/scuff marks on my black SRX 2012 from the door moldings rubbing against the paint on inner door frames. This happened within three months of owning the vehicle. The dealer in consultation with GM engineers tried to soften the moldings using Kry-tox lubricant and polished the existing scratches out. Within 3 weeks the problem is back.I am now in discussions with main GM office for a more long term solution. They are suggesting 3m tape but this product peels and yellows over time and I feel this is just a band aid solution. The company that does this in my town stated this to me as well. They have not agreed to putting new weather stripping on, which may not be the solution either. But they have commented that this design flaw will be addresses with future models. Great, but this does not help me...! I dont know what the answer is, but they do not appear to be that worried that I am disappointed in paying big bucks for something that is not the quality that they lead customers to believe they are paying for.If anyone has this vehicle, please check this as it is not that apparent on lighter color vehicles. I also had rust already on the cross bar under the grill, and this had to be repainted as it comes from the factory with just a coat of primer! The dealer said not many people would notice this issue but check it out. Please comment if you have had any of these concerns. Will never buy another based on this experience. You are paying for the name but not the quality, and this is not fun!

My beautiful car will not drive --possible drive chain problem that now has affected my cylinders. GM should repair this, they are the people who built this junker and if there is a problem with other 2004 SRXs with this, why is mine different? Im 69 and have kept my auto up. This is a fault from a shoddy workmanship and they should fix my problem. I cannot pay thousands to fix this car and owe $11 on it. GM, you should stand behind your customers.

The XT4 is a great car. I bought my 2019 just recently and took a shake down trip to Dallas from Houston to see if there were any kinks in the car. It performed splendidly on the trip. I drove it 80 to 85 mph and it felt smooth and powerful. The only thing that happened and the reason for the low review score was that the car tried to kill me. I got some open road and floored the accelerator and to my surprise the pedal stuck to the floor. The turbo had kicked in and I was flying down the road. I shifted into neutral but the engine was revved all the way. Luckily I was able to take the side of my foot and manipulated the pedal back up to where its starting position. I said it must be a fluke so I did it again and I had the same outcome and same fix. I road on back into Houston with no other issues but I also wasnt going to floor the car again till I could look at the problem in day light. The next morning I found that the mud mats that came with the car was not installed in the two plastic holders and I initially thought the car was I had taken the car to had not popped them in properly but I discovered that Cadillac had left the carpeted floor mat in place under the mud mat. I didnt even know there was a mat under there. There is no way to get 2 mats to pop onto the two plastic holders so it was really Cadillac (the dealers) fault. This is a warning to anyone who has those hard mud mats to make sure they cant slide forward and interfere with the accelerator it could be disastrous.

It has plenty of standard features and offers a lot of options such as all wheel drive and front wheel drive, special wheels, GPS, heated and cooled seats, accident avoidance and lane alert. Radio is very good and OnStar is great. Front seats have plenty of room but back seat is limited. Cargo space is good but rear seats fold and that you definitely have plenty of room. However, clearance for snow is poor and has a bad transmission. Would not recommend and Cadillac customer hotline is awful. They never respond and dont care.

I had a 2013 Cadillac ATS which I absolutely loved at the beginning. I recently had an issue with my car that had to get towed to a GM dealership where it sat for nearly 3 weeks because they couldnt figure out how to program it. Then I had to get it towed to another GM dealership where it cost me over $1,000 just for the tow. I reached out to Cadillac about this and after 2 weeks they said they can give me a $300 gift card. This Gift Card is only available to a certified GM dealer. WHY the HELL would I buy another vehicle from you when your own technicans cannot program a simple FOB, let along poor client appreciation. Cadillac may used to be Luxury and Client appreciation but not anymore. I would highly recommend another dealer who if there are any issues they will be there to help not push you aside.

I have owned my 2006 DTS for 3 years. I bought it used with 51,000 miles. It now has 142,000. The car is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I love all of the luxury features such as automatic high beams, memory seats, remote start, and XM radio. I had a roomy trunk and quiet interior. It gets between 21 and 23 mpg pretty consistently on regular unleaded. What I dont like about it is how often it needs repairs. Around 70,000 miles, I had to have the entire front suspension system essentially rebuilt, as tie rods, ball joints, and struts were worn out. I developed several oil leaks, and I have stopped trying to get those fixed. Changing front turn signal bulbs and headlights requires the front bumper be removed. Parts seem expensive. I plan to keep it for another couple of years. I doubt that I will be replacing it with another Cadillac.

We have a 2014 Cadillac SRX... One of the key fobs went bad. Called our Cadillac dealership (Sunset Cadillac) and was told the cost was $200+.. Took the car in and they said it would have to be programmed, still no mention of extra charge for programming. Got the bill and the total was $447.74. Was not told the programming was extra!! $155.00 for programming. $35.00 for miscellaneous charge. We could have bought a fob off eBay for $32.00 and had it programmed for the $155.00 and been a whole lot cheaper! But since we thought Cadillac’s pricing included programming we didn’t go this route. I called the dealership the same day and vented my frustration, to no avail. On top of that they kept our old fob, which we were going to keep for the key. Not happy customers. We are in the market for a new vehicle, it will not be a Cadillac...

I know I gave them too much time and now they are now saying it is out of warranty and will not fix it. The Cadillac STS 2009, the rear right has a high pitched sound that the GM rep stated was a bearing noise and I have been told since I bought it that it was the tires. I told them, no you cover it, this has nothing to do with wear and tear. Not only that but 6 forums have said this is a problem around 80,000-85,000 miles, guess who has 81,000 me! The dealer is telling me to fight and not stop because they feel the same way I do! Corporate will not budge. I spoke to a lawyer who informed me since they are aware of the problem and refuse to warranty the sensor if I get into an accident I can sue the hell out them! Im 3 steps away from calling channel 7 news and channel 11... Its time Cadillac corporate gets put on blast! I have no problems showing receipts to show what kind of car I got stuck with! I purchased a used 2014 Cadillac SRX Premium in February 2016 from a non-Cadillac dealership. It was the first used vehicle I purchased since 1999. But it was a Cadillac so how could I go wrong! Roughly one year later I noticed what appeared to be a blemish on the touchscreen. At first I thought the glass had cracked but determined the blemish was behind the glass. Seeing that the screen is sealed I had no idea how the blemish occurred. Needless to say over the course of the next few months the blemish morphed into what now looks like webbing. I took my vehicle to a Cadillac Dealership and the minute the Service guy looked at it he said it was a common problem with the Cadillac. After checking he found that because Id exceeded 50k miles it was not covered under warranty. Although unsightly the touchscreen still worked. Upon doing research on various message boards including the Cadillac Forum I found I wasnt the only person experiencing the issue with the webbing but I also read that eventually the touchscreen would stop working. Needless to say in October 2017 the touchscreen stopped working. I contacted Cadillac Customer via email only to be told I had to take the vehicle to a Cadillac Dealership for a diagnostic. I respond that I had in fact done so in July and attached the receipt to show info screen is spider webbing from inside. Cause: Spider webbing on center stack. I received a response via email that I had to take my vehicle to a dealership within one month of notifying Cadillac. I was provided a Service Request Number **. So, I scheduled my vehicle again and provided the dealership with the reference number. Of course they found the issue was the same. I reached out to Cadillac with the information and received a response wanting me to inform Cadillac Customer Care what the dealership recommends should be done and I was also asked to provide my VIN. I respond asking what was the purpose of my providing a reference number to the dealership if Cadillac wasnt able to look up the information. I ended my email stating I would provide the information and that I also wanted the email address or phone number of their complaint department and or problem and resolution department. On November 8th I received an email from the Cadillac customer assistance team to state theyd verified with the dealership Id had a diagnostic done on my vehicle and that a Cadillac Senior Advisor would be contacting me within two days. I missed the first call on Nov ninth and the second call later that evening. The second caller was Jacob. Jacob left me a voice message to state he was calling on behalf of Ingrid and that Ingrid was out of the office for the evening and asked that Jacob give me a call. Since Jacob missed me as well he asked that I call Ingrid on Nov 10. I called Ingrid the morning of Nov 10th and left her a message. I also received an email from Cadillac Customer care wanting to know if my issue had been resolved in which I responded it had not but I hoped to connect with Ingrid sometime during Friday. At 3:08 pm I received a call from Sharae (not sure if I spelled her name correctly). Anyway I explained the issue after which she proceeded to tell me that unfortunately because I was over 30k miles pass 50k it was not under warranty and Cadillac would not be able to do anything to cover any of the cost. I explained that Id read different forums and it seemed to be a common problem and I referred to it as a defect. She commented on how people post things on the internet. I got the impression she didnt feel what people were saying carried any weight. She also went to tell me that my issue was cosmetic not mechanical. I explained it would be cosmetic if my screen had spider webbing and the touch screen still worked. However, since my touch screen was frozen thus unusable it was more than cosmetic. I also said that a Cadillac cost entirely too much money for this type of problem. She then asked if my vehicle had been purchased new or used which I answered used but still found her question offensive. I asked her who else could I speak to and she said that she was the highest level of customer care. She does report to a supervisor but that her supervisor would tell me the same information that Sharae had already told me. Since prior to our call shed informed me our call may be monitored I asked that she please email me a transcript of our call and she said she would. What I received was Dear Ms. **, Per your request, here is a summary of the final resolution for your 2014 Cadillac SRX CROSSOVER, case number **. Based on the age and miles on the vehicle and the concern being cosmetic we are unable to offer cost assistance on these repairs, this is the final decision. Cadillac does review each customer’s concern on an individual basis. All the facts in your situation were carefully considered, and we have determined that this decision is appropriate given the details of your case. Regards, Cadillac. Customer Assistance 1-800-458-8006. I still am researching to see if I can file a formal complaint on the Cadillac Cue to include the response from their highest level of what shed defined as Customer Care. It was more like dont care!

Red cars are the best. Has a nice big stereo. However, it will need a lot of work like nicer, better, big wheels, more windows, and a different color would be nice and a better stereo, long distance and more miles. The miles could be better with more room for a bigger family. But the capacity of this car is good. It was really good experience.

Buying a Cadillac SRX was a HUGE MISTAKE. I bought a used Cadillac SRX in January of 2019 and it was the worst mistake. I have had to spend over $4000 in repairs within the first year and Cadillac has been of NO HELP at all. In fact, they gave me overinflated prices for the repairs and incorrect assessment of the issue.Firstly, my rear bearing went. Nothing to be done about that except to fix it. Repairs were just under $800. Next month, my lift gate failed and dropped right on my head. After moving out of the way and letting the lift gate fall closed, it refused to open again. Not manually and not with any of the power buttons. We brought it into a dealership and after a $70 inspection, they said it was fused shut and they didn’t know why. They quoted my $450 to break open the rear lock. On top of that $450 price tag would be a new diagnostic to see what the root problem was. The mechanic said it could be the module, the struts, the shocks or even the motor. With all that, I would then need to reprogram the module for another $150. As I was deliberating what to do next, the Cue system (the touchscreen where everything relies on) stopped working. I had no central control over heating, music, navigation or anything else, on top of no trunk. I took my car to a mechanic who boasted previous work for Cadillac to see what his prices were. He charged me $0 to open my trunk! He used the manual release hidden behind the tail light. Why wouldn’t Cadillac do that?? Instead they tried to charge me $450 for a whole new lock system. After that, he told me that there was a problem that plagued a lot of SRXs. The moon roof drainage lines, when backed up, leak into the trunk of the SRX (under the spare tire area). So, we checked and yes indeed, there were 2-3 gallons of water in my trunk. The lift gate module and the motor were both submerged. So, in the end I had to pay for the 2 new struts, new motor and new module. I now have to go back to Cadillac to have the module reprogrammed (as only Cadillac can do it). They are charging me $150 for that, and offer NO help at all. Unfortunately, there will be a real chance of it happening again, as there was no way to fix the drainage problem. To fix my Cue system, Cadillac quoted me $1400. This mechanic I went to and replaced it while I waited and only charged me $400. That’s a $1000 difference in this one aspect alone. My car is only a 2014. It has 86,000 km which is just outside their warranty period. Cadillac boast their comfort, their quality and their care for their drivers. Well I say BULL. When I bought a Cadillac, I thought I would have a quality vehicle that would last, while providing a comfort that my children and I would love. That did not happen. At all. Buying a Cadillac was the worst car decision I have ever made and it has cost me thousands of dollars and dozens of hours in repair time. I will not buy a Cadillac again and I highly discourage anyone buying a SRX. It is not worth it. Sure, its pretty but mine is the sourest of all LEMONS.

I have a 2011 Cadillac SRX. My check engine light started coming on back in Jan of 2016 and going out on and off for three months. I had auto zone check codes. They was po171 & po174. I looked them up on the computer technical description system too lean (bank2) po171 & po174. Very similar auto zone description, said too much oxygen in exhaust so I change two O2 upstream sensor light, still on then po174 mean mass air sensor light still coming on & off. I had the dealer here in Merrillville in. They had my car all day and told me I needed to replace all 6 injector $2500. I told them to close my hood and I was picking my car up. I do all my work myself so everyone having check engine light I started to check myself. The problem was replace. The evaporative emissions purge control valve price $ 41.47 when I installed the light went out. That valve will make your car run bad, make your trans shift funny on my car. The purge valve is right behind the throttle body. I hope this will help someone having check engine. If someone need help email me. PS I purchase my SRX new in Aug 2011. I only got 65000 miles and I service my car regular and the dealer said I needed new injector. I knew that was a lie. The dealer are out to rip you off.

I purchased a Cadillac SRX and was very excited at the time. Little did I know I was fixing to have regrets. Cadillac used to have a great reputation but not anymore. I have a car that only has 49000 miles. Bought it brand new and its been in service dept 3 times each time for a week for their poor craftsmanship. They could care less how long you go without a vehicle. Will not provide a loaner. I know friends with a Lexus, BMW get loaners and treated like they care. The problem is Cadillacs faulty design in the sunroof water cant drain properly so it runs into the car shorting out electrical. This happened not once but twice. Now I cant see at night unless my lights are on bright because of anther faulty design. Headlight covers retain moisture and become faded and cloudy. A class action lawsuit is ongoing but they are telling me I have to pay $1000 out of my pocket. I dont Think so. When I wreck because of this a lawsuit will be placed on Cadillac. They cant pick and choose who they will take care of. As Im typing this my car sits in the service dept while they dont care. Johnson motor co wont even call back. I may as well bought a cheap piece of **. It wouldnt have been any worse but better. I wouldnt have paid as much to be SCREWED!

Since Sept 2015 there has been a HORRIBLE EXTREME ODOR coming from the heating/air system. Called GM several times, after 5 calls Im still waiting for a callback to resolve this problem of a HORRIBLE smell thats making me sick!!! At this point, Im going to hire an attorney!!! GM NEEDS TO BUY THIS CAR BACK!!!

Took my 2010 Cadillac SRX 81,000 miles. Dealership said I need new Timing Chain. The Chain has been stretched out of place. $1900.00 dollars to repair. GM has to know they have a problem with the Timing Chain on these vehicles. Talked with local repair shop who has seen the same problems with at least one other SRX. What a lousy car, will never buy another American made vehicle.

I bought a 2007 CTS in March 2010. Early 2013, the engine light kept coming on. So, in April 2013, on Monday morning I went for an oil change. Two days later on Wednesday, I changed spark plugs and gaskets. Two days later on Friday, I was driving on the highway and noticed the car had no power. I stopped the car and the transmission had completely blown. The radiator fluid mixed with the transmission fluid. I had to replace both the transmission and the radiator. In total, this has already cost me over $4,000.00 (four thousand). If this wasnt bad enough...I went for an oil change in July 2013 and the mechanic showed me that the main frame holding the car together has completely rusted through on the bottom. I pushed on it and my finger went through the rust. This of course is extremely dangerous and will cost me a lot of money to fix. I cant believe a car with the reputation and price tag as high as a Cadillac can make their vehicles so badly. My vehicle is only 7 years old and has already cost me an extreme amount of money. I still owe money on the car, so Im stuck paying for the repairs. I am not sure who to turn to for help. Can anyone help me...or am I stuck with a LEMON?

My wife and I traded our Yukon Denali in on a new Cadillac XT5 on 2/21/2018. Four months after our trade, we got a correspondence from a Seattle detective indicating that our former Denali had just been involved in a criminal activity and wanted to question us about it since it was our vehicle. Turns out Larson Cadillac had not removed our license plates from the Denali and the detective thought we were the criminals. Last month we started receiving toll charges by mail related to our former Denali. Larson did take the proper, common actions to remove us from the Denali when we traded it in, and now say that its up to use to clean up the mess. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism as we havent had that same experience with any other dealer we have ever done business with?

My car has all kinds of annoying rattling sound coming from the interior panels. I left the car the whole day today at the second dealership I went and they diagnosed they couldn’t duplicate just like the other dealership that I visited for the same issues five times. As soon as I drove it off from the parking lot I was able to hear the annoying noise. Before I was able to get my car back, I told the service staff I will come back at seven, but she already left with other staffs by the time I called at 6:30. I was able to find a sales staff and he told me to come back in the morning but I already drove an hour. He found a key later on and I was able to get my car back after begging three twice. I’m not gonna bother by the noise and drive it as is but I’m not gonna stop complaining how crappy the Cadillac service departments are managed.

I own a 2002 Cadillac Deville. I have had continual problems with all of my automatic windows. Basically, all four windows have broken at least once in the three years I have owned this car. The windows go down, but they will not go up. I have had at least two or three of these windows fail at least two times. I have had one window fail 3 times. The cost of repairing these windows is approximately $300.00 to $400 a piece. I have come to learn (from the Frank ** Service Manager) that this particular is a well known design flaw with the Cadillac Deville. They have seen this issue with many customers on a repeated basis. I think this demonstrated a design problem with this car and has nothing to do with normal wear-and-tear. First, GM should be ashamed of not fixing this issue and having a recall. I would like to get a refund for my latest repair. I have no problem contacting my local FOX TV affiliate in Dallas/FW and make them aware of this issue. They have a reporter that handles issues such as these. I will send you my latest repair bill for $500.00 and then I will sell this car. What a disgrace of a product.

I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L engine with less than 87,000 miles on it. About 2 weeks ago, a screw had somehow backed itself out of one of the gears and caused major damage to my vehicle. The valve cover is shredded, cracked cylinder head and a piece broke off the cast iron timing chain cover. I reported it to Cadillac in hope of them standing by their product and customer loyalty and in turn they have said its not covered under the powertrain warranty. At Cadillacs request, I had the car towed to Don Massey Cadillac because they were supposed to have a reputation for good customer service. That is very wrong. They took almost 5 days to look at my car and give a diagnosis. Now the mechanic that is going to fix the car is on vacation and has three weeks of work before he could get to my car. If the dealership would have looked at the car in a timely manner the mechanic could have looked at it sooner and at least got the parts ordered. I am now going to be at least another month without my car because Cadillac wasted my time. I will NEVER buy another Cadillac or GM product. This car has never been abused or had modifications done to it. Every oil change has had synthetic oil put into it. I am very dissatisfied with the Cadillac brand of luxury. There is nothing luxury about how they treat their customers.

Nothing beats a Cadillac. Smooth looking and feeling, and powerful. 300+hp v8 gets up and going like nobodys business. Remember the last time you were in a boat? I do. The last time I drove my caddy down the street. Comfortable ride. Plush leather seats, white wall tires, wood trim and no corners are cut. Imagine being the only person in a city bus. This is how I feel riding around in my caddy. If you take people with you they will feel like that also.

Bought my XT5 in December of 2020. It has been the worst thing I could have done. I traded my Lexus and I am so disappointed in Cadillac. I took it in 3 times for them to try and fix, Parking Brake, All wheel drive system, StabiliTrak, steering assist. My dash was lit up like a Christmas tree only to find out after 3 times there was a corroded wiring harness and then a bad camera. After all of that, I had a flood under my gas pedal that soaked over to the passenger side too, so I took it in a fourth time. This vehicle stalled on me driving south bound Interstate 75. I have called Cadillac customer service 3 times to report this safety issue and they have not bothered to call me back. Shame on Cadillac on the lack of response to a serious safety concern! Really regret trading my Lexus. Dont buy Cadillac!!!! They clearly do not care about safety concerns.

Ive owned three CTSs (2004; 2011; and 2016). I purchased them primarily because of their looks. Each car exceeded the other in terms of features, performance and fuel economy. Cadillacs 4-year free premium maintenance was another decisive factor in purchasing, as well as 0% financing on the 2016!!!

Lots of option choices to customize your experience. Highly recommend getting something you will use or just something you think is cool and will love. Highly recognizable from a distance. Sets this car apart from most. You can fit more people comfortably in this car than youd think. Its a full size car with plenty of leg room for driver and passengers. Standard features are incredible for any brand of vehicle but options are even better. The standard package alone is enough to want this car but add options to it and its unbelievable. Stereos, wheels, GPS, etc. The list goes on forever. Look up a dealer online and check it out. Go for a test drive! You wont regret it!

I purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS in November 2012 and it has been in the shop twice since I purchased the vehicle. The first time was for four (4) days and the second time for 11 days. The service department has informed me on both occasions that they found the problem and are fixing it, but this time what they thought was the problem and fixed was not the problem. They got another part in hopes of resolving the situation.

Cadillac has the Escalade for those who like the extra room. They have the XT5 Crossover for those who want room, class, and style. They also have the coupe for those who is responsible but also having a fun side. Smart with the body shape. Sharp with the wheels and styling with the inside and outside looks. The car also include extra such as leather seats, a chrome grill, and tint on the window. The back is extra roomy. The passenger seat can both recline and go up and down. If you are tall, short, or big bone you can always adjust the seat to fit your size. You can get it how you want to. The only downside is the pricing. If you is willing to pay you can have a comfortable styling car. You can get a unique color. But Im very happy with choice.

Im lucky to have this car. Its a regular sedan - two in the front and two in the back. It looks great and the design is top notch. Its attractive and sleek. I get compliments from other people, too. I cant complain. There are other cars with more seats and they have all kinds of sedans and crossovers to choose from. And there are different versions of these cars. If you have the money you can upgrade to make the car flashier but its expensive. You can go from the Cadillac CTS to the coupe.

2011 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection Delegance - Anyone who buys this year/model car should beware of the issues. I was fortunate enough to unload this car and I couldnt be happier that I am rid of it. It was in the shop at least once a month after the warranty was over. I could not afford to keep taking it to the mechanic for one thing after another and there are no decent warranties available to cover it over 60k. I drive a lot (obviously its a 2011 and it had over 70k when I got rid of it). Cadillac should offer a much longer warranty if they are going to sell a crossover or any other vehicle that needs repairing as much as this. There is no piece of mind with this car. The navigation was always broken and the pop up screen is a joke. The starter was fixed twice, the water pump was bad, the belts were bad, it overheated constantly, it was making thumping noises toward the end so I knew the transmission was about to go. If Cadillac considers elegance as waiting for another tow truck, then they did a good job. I couldnt wait to get my new Land Rover but I dont think I will ever get out from under that Cadillac.

This brand has a good selection of models to choose from whether it be 4 door, one, 2 door, or sports type car. I like to have a fun car and I like to buy something that gets my friends and family attention so having a Cadillac is a eye catcher within itself and I like that. The car is totally loaded and has everything a car seeker with prestige could ask for. Its style and easy to maneuver. The color is shiny and holds its coloring so when it is dirty it does not even look that bad. The system in the car sounds good for an manufacture system. I trust the brand and I like the way it flows when I drive it and the attention I get from driving the car. I love the cd player and I like being able to take along my phone and use it in my car to hear different tracks. I like that the model every year is adding different options for their customers to select from. Now this kind of car is not really for the whole family if you have a lot of children and even though I have the grandkids it is enough room for everyone to safely fit into without being squash.

This is by far my most favorite vehicle, love this car. Smooth ride, excellent sound system, beautiful style, phenomenal presence, large trunk and prestige while driving. I like the sunroof, leather seats, back up camera, dual zones for heating and cooling, heated seats, the red color and black interior, comfortable seating, roomy, Bose speakers. It is excellent and will purchase again. But I would like cheaper parts as it is too expensive to get repairs done on the vehicle and better vision hard to see surroundings. Also, the lease terms have too few miles included.
