I have just recently purchased a new 2016 MDX and currently have 3100 miles on the vehicle. I have some major concerns in which I am very worried about. I just went to the local supermarket for a few minutes went back to my car and tried to start it up. The transmission seemed to be locked into place the brake was very hard and the car would not start. I tried to start the vehicle up three times and it would not move. Eventually I called my husband and he came down, got into the vehicle and it started. Yet when I reached my home the event started again. Also the transmission seems to be jolting as if it is going in and out of gear. Another concern is that when it is cold sometimes when I turn the wheel to the left, it is as if there is not enough fluid where it is very rough. I had a CRV before this vehicle with 90 000 miles and I never had an ounce of a problem. Yet I have owned Mercedes vehicles and Audis and I thought they were problems. I hope this MDX does not top the German cars.

What I particularly appreciate is the fact that blind spots are minimized, reducing the need to stretch and crane your neck before changing lanes. Also, their upgrade and personalization options are comparable to those offered by other manufacturers of upscale automobiles. For example, on-board GPS, air conditioning, hands-off mobile phone, etc. The passenger capacity depends on the style and/or model of car selected. My Vigor sedan had standard seating capacity for two passengers in the front and three in the back.

I bought brand new Acura MDX in 2007. Since I bought I have had issues related to either Accelerator noise, Air conditioning leakage, or low brakes and cracks and scratches in seat leather. I have been taking my MDX to fix these issues at Bloomington Acura dealership where I bought it. I am very much disappointed with Acura manufacturer as these issues have arisen at baby miles. I am also very upset and disappointed with Bloomington Acura Service Dept. as far as finding the source and fixing issues at the first place. I always have to bring my Acura MDX twice or three times before they are able to diagnose the exact symptoms. In the past, I had to take my Acura MDX three times to the service dept to figure out the source of Air-conditioning leakage.Currently, I am having issues with low brakes. Few months ago, the brake pedal is almost to floor before I am able to stop the car, I took my Acura MDX to Bloomington Acura service dept. I was told initially that they will try to find any brake fluid leakage, if not then they will have to change the Master Cylinder part to fix the issue. I agreed, eventually they had to change Master Cylinder but when I drove the car I still didnt see much difference because the brake pedal was still almost to the floor when pressing the brake pedal. So, I took my Acura MDX again to the service dept and they said everything is fine and up to the coding standards. There is nothing else is remaining to be done by them. They suggested to drive the MDX for couple more months and see if it comes back. Within three weeks the issue came back and again the brake pedal is almost to the floor. I have taken an appointment with the service dept again and will find out if they come up with some different stories. I am really disappointed first of all with the quality of Acura MDX because I have not driven my car much and it has only around 43K miles and yet I have brake issues. Also, what drives me crazy is that the service dept cant fix the issue although they are so called Acura Specialist which they charge tons of money. I wish they have experienced and certified people to fix cars in the first visit.

I went to dealer at Ottawa Camco Acura, and I was told there are many cars with paint issue. Acura manufacturer reduce paint thickness to save cost. Very thin layer of coat was slowly disappear. The quote to repair panels are over 1800$. I went to other body shop, and I was told repair fee is around 900$. I called Acura customer service, and I was told the paint issue is normal. I was told Acura will equally split repair cost with me. I think it is totally quality issue, and Acura should pay all cost. Acura is a prime car, and service fee is super high. I bought Acura car, because I thought Acura is a high quality car. But I am very disappointed. I think I made mistake to buy a car from Acura.

Now the fact that my power steering suddenly seizes and leaves me in the middle of an intersection with a non functional vehicle I cannot handle. The answer? Pay to have the EPS replaced. The trim around the windows and inside the doors are peeling and rotting. The material in the inside leather (more like cheap vinyl) is cracked and peeling off. The material covering the center console has already peeled. The dash covering is bubbled up and cracking. The center display goes in and out of view. The wheels squeal. We have replaced brakes that we really did not have to. Having this car was a dream turn into a nightmare. I will never buy another Acura of any type model for as long as I live. There is a thick greasy streak in the passenger side window that there is no explanation for. DONT BUY ONE.

The car was in great condition otherwise so I spent the money to replace them. A couple years later I noticed a crack on the right side of the dash. The crack grew and has expanded to multiple cracks. I have never experienced this with a car and would certainly not expect it from a brand known for quality and luxury yet when I did an internet search I discovered that it is a common problem with the Acura. Buyer beware.

Here is how we got there: 08/29/2011 – Battery warning light comes on. “Limited starts left” displayed on message center. Took car to dealer. Battery tests well, but was replaced. 11/03/2011 – Battery warning light comes on. Bad cell. “Limited starts left” displayed on message center. Took car to dealer. Technician tells my wife that the battery was replaced even though it tested well. 08/09/2012 – Message on dash – “Voice account needs to be updated”. Second message on dash – “Gas cap loose”. Took car to dealer. Various updates and resets to electrical systems performed. 12/04/2014 – Messages and indicators on dash – “check battery”, “check oil”, “air bag fault”, “fuel cap loose” -Took car to dealer. Battery sensor updated. Various updates and resets to electrical systems performed. 12/27/2014 – Message on dash – “check battery” -Took car to dealer. According to work order, “sensor tests good”. Sensor replaced. 01/08/2015 – Message on dash – “check battery” -Took car to dealer. Replaced battery. 04/21/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work” - Took car to dealer. Reset message. According to work order, “everything checks out fine.” 05/08/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work”. Beginning to have problems with paired phone. Many dropped calls. -Took car to dealer. Switch replaced. Dealer could not replicate the issue with the phone. 05/29/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work”. Beginning to have problems with paired phone. Many dropped calls. Took car to dealer. Switch replaced.I spoke with Garrett ** (business manager) and Russell ** (lead service advisor) numerous times. I do believe that they did everything within their powers to help to resolve the issue. We left numerous messages for Steve ** (dealership manager) who never responded to an email or phone message. I had two primary concerns. This vehicle was not safe to drive. The warranty was due to expire in April 2015. Would I be expected to pay for repairs that clearly existed while the car was under warranty that could not be repaired? I asked the dealer to provide a letter indicating that they would be responsible to repair anything beyond the warranty period that was identified an issue within the warranty period. They refused. I was told that we should trust that they would stand by their product.Eventually I was referred to Acura client relations. My first contact was with Kristine (extension **). I asked to be called on my cell phone. She mostly left messages on my home phone. Eventually I was able to reach her. Her solution was to take the car to the dealer. I asked to escalate to her supervisor. She refused stating that she was in charge and no one else could do anything. I asked her to provide some sort of acknowledgement of the situation. She refused. Other than a fax, she only would communicate with me by phone. Eventually she admitted to having a boss. She told me his name was Michael, but policy did not permit her to provide his last name. After a fair amount of wasted time I found that his full name was Michael **. He said that there was nothing that he could do to help.The issue would be escalated to an arbitration group at Acura. He would forward the issue, but would not give me any way to contact them. They would call me if needed. To date, I have not heard from them or Michael. My feeling was that the car was not safe to drive. I had no idea if the airbags or brakes were going to work. This car spent over 30 days in 2015 at the dealership while they looked, but didn’t find a solution. I suggested to Garrett that we swap out the car. He said that he would get us a deal that we could not refuse. He would give us a deep discount on a new car and a generous allowance on a trade in. The deal was $1500 below sticker. The trade in allowance was also not that exciting. The offer was an insult. I believe that Acura makes a quality vehicle and that the problem happened to be in the one that I purchased.I also believe that the dealership and Acura as a company came up very short in how they dealt with me as a customer. I’ll be sure to share this experience with my friends. I posted when I purchased the car. I will do the same now that it is gone. I am very pleased that I no longer own an Acura.

On 6/23/10, I experienced transmission failure from my 2002 Acura MDX and brought it to an Acura dealership. I was not informed of the recall issued 4/15/04 impacting transmissions for this year and model and was quoted for full replacement. Therefore, I had rebuilt at another facility due to cost at Acura dealership. Then on 8/14/11, I was traveling back from a trip and my transmission locked up on the highway almost resulting in a crash. I had to have the car towed 215 miles back to the transmission shop that serviced the vehicle. After further research, I identified that this issue was a result of the gear shift becoming too hot at a high speed, causing the transmission to grenade inside. This was exactly what is described as the defect consequence in the recall information. Due to the faulty transmission design, an additional jet oil kit is needed in order to ensure the transmission functions properly to allow fluid to flow through the transmission and dissipate heat. I placed a claim with Acura product services because both transmission issues were due to overheating of the gears. They denied my case and did not even contact the two shop references verifying both transmission issues were a result of this.

She stated, Oh well. She didnt know what to do. I hung up and contacted the Acura dealer in Atlanta Ed Voyles. I spoke to a Jimmy **, the service manager. He asked me questions, figured that it was my battery, gave me the number to roadside assistance and called me back to make certain I was helped. He was the best. They did a test and showed me a report that the PCM failed and stated it had to be replaced because the car could stop running. I paid the $900 and they replaced it. After it is replaced they tell me i need to replace the 3rd gear pressure switch. I said I thought the problem was the PCM since the reason I came in was I wanted the transmission issue corrected. Turns out the FAIL wasnt because of any transmission problem but a recommend change because the car was 7 years old. I feel like that was a fraud. Will never step in a Acura dealership again.

I took my daughter to the park on a hot day. When we were about to leave, I unlocked all the car doors as usual by placing my hand through the door handle. I opened the back door, placed the bag with my keys on the floor, buckled my daughter in her car seat, closed the door, and went to open the drivers door. All the doors were mysteriously locked. All the doors were unlocked, how could they just lock themselves? Also, with the 2013 Acura RDX, you cannot lock the door with the key fob in the car. I of course began to panic and a maintenance man broke the small window on the side so I could get my daughter out. Upset, I drove to Center Acura even though it was late in the day. They told me it was too late to check my car, but could look at it next Saturday. I asked how this could have happened and nobody knew. It was almost like nobody believed me. This is a pretty serious defect and I at least thought they could help me out with the cost of the window. Nope, I received a quote for $708 ($228 for the window and $480 for the labor). I then called later to ask if they charge to diagnose the problem. It was $160 just to look at it. Called the Corporation and they basically said it was up to the dealer. I cannot worry about the safety of my children so I am looking elsewhere for a car. BTW, that same window will be fixed for $270.

It has died on us so many times that Ive bought a charger that we keep in the back to jump it since it happens so often at any place such as the airport, work, or at home. Ive taken it to Acura twice. They say it checks out fine and wouldnt replace the battery for me so I bought a new one. It did slightly better for a short time - two weeks. Then it started dying again. We always leave the dome lights off but if you dont drive it for a few days, or listen to the radio for an hour with the car not running the battery will die. Something is draining the system but the Acura service department while nice seems to be in denial of a problem that is rather common with their vehicles. The nearest dealer to us is 45 minutes away so dropping it off all the time is an inconvenience.Weve had problems with the stereo. We are on our third new head unit, and several different memory setting problems that were covered under the warranty. I was ready to get rid of it after the second year. It is my wifes first new vehicle and she wanted to keep it for at least 10 but I’m hoping to talk her into getting rid of it this next week. The MDX has a nice quiet smooth ride but everything else weve dealt with leaves me to advise you to buy a Lexus, Audi, Volvo, etc. We were going to give this MDX to my father-in-law when we got a new vehicle but I wouldnt want him to be stranded with a dead battery or deal with more issues Ive been reading about in the forums. Our MDX only has 59,000 miles.

The first was the fogging of the headlights within the warranty and the second was a gapping of the front fender liner from the cars body, resulting in a noticeable and unsightly gap. Both matters were first reported to my local dealer who advised that both matters were caused by environmental conditions, and therefore not covered under warranty. An Acura service bulletin acknowledges the fender well issue as being caused by heat, and the fix is replacement of the liner at over $350. I quickly advised Acura that I operate my vehicle IN THE ENVIRONMENT! While I purchased this vehicle used, it was a dealer car that spent its previous life on the lot in sunny California, the very climate it was designed in. After a trip to the dealership and a couple weeks back and forth with Corporate Acura, during which I advised them of each of the of the 5 Honda/Acura vehicles I had owned, they simply refused to offer any assistance, hiding behind their ridiculous environment position. CPO vehicles are sought precisely for the warranty, which has proven to be of less value than the paper on which it was written.I have been a huge Acura/Honda fan over the past 27 years, but I clearly have higher expectations than Acura has in their own products. The ZDX was originally touted as their flagship vehicle, which clearly should be able to stand up to usual weather, at least within the warranty period! To fail in that regard is simply a failure of materials and a failure that is unrelated to the customers use of the product. In the end, the local dealership (from where I did not buy the car) offered to provide the labor for buffing the headlights when I paid for the $30 kit, which I did. Bottom line: CORPORATE ACURA DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WARRANTY....BUYER BEWARE!

I have had a number of expensive nuisance issues with my MDX that I paid handsomely for. From day 1 it has had a slow leak in the tire that they say there is nothing wrong with. The drivers side window whistles and they say it is not a known problem and nothing they can do about; and now most recently I was pulled over by the police for a tail light that was not working. I replaced the bulb myself, no avail. Acura says $500 for a new tail light assembly. What does it say about the quality of construction when an enclosed tail light assembly needs to be replaced??? I bought Acura looking for Honda/Acura quality. Very, very disappointed. I will be a returning customer. PS, additionally the Acura navigation system is the worst. Too hard to use; just use your phone.

(This can happen.) Acura has never contacted me to advise as to where I should take the vehicle for warranty work. The nearest Acura dealer is a 2 hour (one way) drive for me, but an certified Honda dealer is only 10 minutes away.Acura now sends me a recall notice informing me a bolt needs to be replaced. The Honda dealer tells me they can do the work, but it will be covered by Acura only with prior authorization. Acura denies authorization and will require me to undertake a 4 hour trip to effect this recall. Oh and it took Acura 4 weeks and multiple calls on my part to decide my request to deal with the Honda dealer would be denied. Never once did Acura return my call. Oh. Acura did send me a letter to wish me a Happy Anniversary in recognition of my Acura Ownership. Based upon their lack of caring, and lack of responsiveness, I would never purchase another Acura!

You could change it for passenger and back seating. There was enough space as I didnt really have anyone riding passenger. However, not enough leg room for anyone over 57 in height. So I am only satisfied, not super happy about that. Nevertheless, it is sleek... Ultimately got so many compliments while driving it by random people in public places. Was quite impressed by how many people said I looked hot in it.

It drives not as smoothly as some higher end makes but certainly delivers a quality comfortable ride. The Nav system needs work and maybe theyve fixed it since my 2014 but for now I dont get to use it. I drive off my phone instead. I cant really speak to gas consumption as I drive very little but so far, is reasonable.

I do live in the south but I park in garages most of the time out of the sun. Second I had a recall on the Power Steering hose. They said it is fixed but I get a leak that I must fix. Confuses you? Yes, me too! They bottom line is there is no such thing as Acura customer support. They are rude and only out to help dealerships.

The downshift at times BANGS into gear. The up shift from standstill also BANGS into gear, feeling like you are going to hit the person in front of you. Of most concern is that - 3 times from a standstill - once you start, the car completely stops moving (almost like you threw it in neutral) then kicks in. This happened in the middle of an intersection. Very dangerous. Problem is it only happened three times in 3 months. The dealer says if they cant replicate, nothing they can do. In fact tells me I need to get used to a different type of transmission with the dual clutch transmission. I said my expectation is that when I push on the gas pedal, the car goes. Am I supposed to get used to it not going? This is a dangerous situation. When googled, I see numerous similar complaints. Again, Acura says car runs fine. I am appalled by the expectation that this is just the way this is. Glad I only leased and wont be stuck with this car after. Reaching out to an attorney to see my options.

The vehicle has a V6 engine and plenty of power and the style is sleek, aerodynamic curves and it a great vehicle. The only issue I have are the tire sensors fail consistently and these are a nuisance as I have my own pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure. The vehicle rides so smoothly on various roads while steering is very comfortable and ease to control the vehicle. Overall I recommend this vehicle but my taste has changed in terms of car type. 2012 Acura TSX Power Steering System - On Thursday, I was driving back to work from my lunch break when suddenly as I was coming around a turn my steering wheel locked up and I immediately went into panic mode and could barely drive my car. I immediately tried to pull over and the Check Power Steering system light came on. I turned my car off and then back on and drove 500 feet back to work since the light went off. After work, I drove to the gym about 5 miles away and as I was driving again, it locked again. I brought it over to the Meineke next to the gym and had him keep it overnight to look at it in the morning. After he inspected it the next day and drove it, he said there was nothing wrong wear and tear wise on the car that he could see and to bring it to Acura. I brought it over the Acura in East Brunswick and told them my safety concern and did not want to drive this vehicle that clearly has something wrong with it that is out of my control. 3 hours later, I get a call saying that my power system steering wire went and I need a whole new system for around 1200. My car is 4 years old with 60,000 miles on it. After speaking with him and getting a price he told me that they would give me a rental car for free and that at any second the power steering system could go while I was driving. This is obviously a huge safety concern, there was no warning whatsoever and I was driving while my steering wheel locked up on me in a very busy area. I talked to numerous mechanics that said that that should not be happening whatsoever to a newer car with that amount of miles on it and it must be some type of defect. I decided to file a case with Acura because I do not feel like I am liable for this defect in their car. BTW I am still leasing and my warranty was up at 50,000 miles. When I went to Acura later that day to pick up my things and receive my rental car, they refused to give me one. I asked to speak with the manager and he said he needed to confirm with corporate Acura who I filed a case with to see if they will give me a rental. Well the next day they called and said that Acura said I did not deserve a rental car since I do not get my service done there. So I called corporate Acura and they were closed and called back the dealership and asked who they spoke to and the rep said that the manager had a personal number. I have not been to work in three days, was told I would know something yesterday, but the manager was off yesterday and now I am told tomorrow a case manager will come look at my car. This is unbelievable. I am refused a rental car after paying my monthly payment for this car for the past 4 years, I was driving an UNSAFE car that has some type of defect, and I am getting false information from the dealership and treated poorly and when I went to the dealership yesterday to get my EZ pass out of the car, it was unlocked and no one even looked twice at me that I could have been just going into to some random persons car. I am looking into an attorney if they do not cover this in full.

I was told that they were unsure the extent of the damage at that time. I sent my mom down to get important papers out of my glove box as I was unable to get there. When she arrived, she found someone still working on the car and she opened the glove box to it full of water rushing out like a fish tank being dumped over. The next day I went down to the dealership to see my car myself and speak to management. We met with George who promised to bend over backwards to help me.I was continually pushed aside and treated like I was a nuisance. Once their insurance finally claimed it a total loss (over a week later) I then was left to do all the work, I had to fight for 104 days to get my car paid off. This was daily calls and emails and hundreds of hours of work. When it came time to get me into a new vehicle I was shuttled back and forth between salesmen (who were all friendly but couldnt help) and the 2012 that was comparable to my MDX was sold before I could get there to see it the next morning. I was hopeful theyd cut me a great deal on a replacement vehicle for all Id been through but alas all I got was a lousy $1000 off the price (something anyone could haggle down) and still paid over blue book, and 15% off floor mats and I had to pay for moldings to be put on to cover all the scratches on the passenger side. To get the $1000 off I had to fight for $250 of it and was told by Gene **, Fine if its a fight over $250 Ill do it just to get you done and out of here. He was incredibly rude to me and honestly I shouldnt have proceeded with the purchase of the new car especially since the only viable option was a 2015 MDX that now costs me an extra $150 per month and I had to start payments all over again.Once my car was paid I reached out to the dealership to try to work out some compensation for my time and losses like new tags, paying double insurance while I fought to get my car paid off, and interest accrued during that time. I sent a certified letter to George, and Gene called me in return, I asked to hear from George who refused to contact me and I never heard from again. I then put a complaint in with the BBB because I was receiving no response. George blank told the BBB they bent over backwards to help me and there was nothing more they could do.I then contacted Acura corporate directly (who were wonderful by the way) and they couldnt believe how I had been treated and they tried to help me. They arranged a call with the dealership which was between me, Acura and Gene. Gene again was not very friendly in his tone and took no responsibility for what had happened. His apology is, We are sorry this happened, and that WEVE had to deal with this. He finally offered me some compensation for my loses. $1000 with the stipulation that I leave no negative reviews and do not discuss the dealership negatively. And 3 years free oil changes (no way would I bring my car back to them).I refused his offer because I believe people need to know that while I was fighting the insurance I found out from their own tech and from their incident report I had to collect, MY CAR WAS ACTUALLY TOTALED 4 DAYS PRIOR TO THEM CONTACTING ME AND THEY TRIED TO HIDE IT!! Ive collected thorough documentation on all the events that occurred, and it is now my mission to warn people about this dealerships poor business practices. There are good people that work there that if they could have would have helped me more; these people are Bob **, Chris ** and Matt in sales.

The leather has not cracked at all and the paint has stayed in perfect condition. You can upgrade pretty much anything from upholstery to wheels to the technology inside the car. Bluetooth aux output plus Bluetooth ability to hook up and play music without any cords. While other models of Acura may be roomier we chose the TSX. We bought it fully knowing that there was not going to be much room. One kid fits well in the backseat with maybe one additional person.

While under 30,000 miles the vehicle has had major issues with the infotainment system, the fuel pump, transmission, and battery. All have required replacements and extensive (months) time at the dealership. On August 13, 2021, while at a hospital in another state, for my mothers surgery, the vehicle failed to start inside a parking garage. Acuras roadside assistance was contacted and they informed me that they were unable to tow the vehicle from a parking garage and I had to find my own towing company. I arranged the vehicle towing, at my expense and had to get a rental car to get home and back. According to Acuras warranty, all of these expenses are reimbursable.I picked up the car a week later from the dealership just to find that my back seat was missing (the hybrid battery had to be removed to replace the fuel pump). Once I got the seat installed, I went home and filed a claim with roadside assistance. That claim has not been paid or even decided after 7 months. According to Acuras policy, this was supposed to take place within 30 days. I later the transmission failed to work, and I had to have the car towed to the original dealership. I filed a Lemon Law claim as advised by the Acura dealership due to all of the issues with this vehicle through Acura customer service. The claim was opened in September of 2021. The process as listed on the Acura website is a 4-6 week process to obtain a decision. It is now February of 2022 and no action has taken place. When I call customer service I am informed that it is with a new case manager and the process has to start over. Every time, I was told they were too busy or unavailable (are they unavailable or cowardly behavior by refusing the answer escalated concerns?). Requested for a follow-up phone call NOT an email. However, all I received was scripted generic mail for every call I made. Finally, today spoke to the supervisor, explained all the detail and all I hear is sorry. Now, I have paid over $9000 on rental. The only solution I have received is sorry from Acura. I would refer to Acuras supervisor’s customer service as a meaning of worst customer experience in the dictionary.

There was apparently a recall for MDX active suspension struts. 5k repair up to 160 kms. I am sitting at 180. I called them and said hey I dont expect a full repair but some help would be great considering I am probably one of the best customers. I also own a body shop and obviously we pump parts from Acura.You know how the story goes. I was in talk with them for two weeks. They told me to beat it. We wont even look at it was the answer. I dont know if the people I am speaking with just also made an error but I am getting rid of all my Acuras after they are off lease and simply going to try something different and see how customer service treats me. I know grass is not greener on the other side but hey Mercedes makes some nice cars of all types.

Acura has a nice sleek look that make it different from other cars on the road today in 2016. The best part about it that it is luxury but not too expensive, great running car and very dependable. Plus you can fit one person in your front seat and 3 in the back with enough seat belts for everyone. I like factory items on an Acura to keep it classy, however, I did spice up my TSX up with some custom wheels, black and chrome. They go great with the car and makes it look like a combination of sport and luxury. However, I have had an issue with the navigation system draining too much battery causing my battery to go dead frequently.

Its a little bit rough to drive, you feel every little bump on the road. 2.) Acura doesnt do anything special for the owners, prior to this I had 2 Lexus and when you go to the dealership to get your car serviced you are treated like VIP. You can wait for the car in a lounge where you can have in the morning free bagels, toast or danishes along with regular or specialty coffee, if its lunch time free water, juice or soda. They have nice comfortable leather chairs, desktop computers, iPads and large screen TVs. In addition to this if its going to be longer than a couple of hours they just give you a beautiful loaner. Anything you want so you can try out all their different models.

The tension pulley had to be changed. The battery dies if the car is not turned on daily or in cold winter months (I live in Houston, we don’t have severe weather). It has a new battery and the alternator is just fine, we never could establish what the battery issues were.The car will lock you out since it automatically locks, the mirrors shift while driving. The dashboard has cracks. I happily sold the car to a junkyard for $500, I just couldn’t wait to get rid of it. I maintain my cars regularly and only put less than 20 miles a day on it. I didn’t expect all these issues with less than 100k miles on it. Never getting an Acura again.

I asked my bank (Citibank) to stop the auto payment in November, 2015 and I had been sending checks every month since until I traded the 2014 RXL to 2016 RLX in May, 2016 in Acura of Westchester and as usual, the dealer pays off the remain value and I signed a new lease with Westchester Acura. So I thought, and you will think as well, that the 2014 RLX car is left behind me. Lo and behold, in July 2018, I received a letter both from Acura Financial services and collection agency charging me $1651.98. When I first called Acura Financial service, a man with British accent told me that I did not pay the last month payment (which is strange, even it were true that I did not pay the last payment, it would only be $825.99, not $1651.98). When I called them back again from my vocation on 07/31/18, Acura financial told me a totally different story -- Because Acura overcharged me 3 months (twice of $825.99), I called my bank and the bank reversed the overcharge. Now Acura wants me to pay extra money, when in fact that the dealer had already bought off the older car and I am under new lease over 2 years! Acura had overcharged me more than 3 months and only month even charged me 3 TIMES! That is stealing because by contract, I only authorized Acura to charge me once a month! Not only that Acura lying to me by saying that they had been trying to contact me during the past 2 years, which is the biggest lie in the world -- because I have never received any mail/call regarding the 2014 RLX until July, 2018 and I have been paying the monthly payment of the 2016 RLX every month. I called Westchester Acura and spoke with the General Manager who was angry as well and states that he will contact Acura Financial Services in the morning. Regardless what outcome it will be, I have lost trust and confidence towards Acura and would like to share this experience with you guys, especially the potential buyers -- stay away from Acura unless you want to be screwed up and potentially have your credit scores affected negatively and being bullied and discriminated like this! I plan to go to court if this matter is not resolved. Watch out giving business to Acura! Watch your wallet because Acura may steal from you like what they did to me!

The color is a deep dark green, with the softest caramel colored leather seats. I love the leather seats. Its a sleek little sedan that looks sporty. I like how when driving, it drives so smooth. Its comfortable for long road trips and has the best gas mileage. But I might change how the cup holders and console are situated. I dislike how the memory setting for the seats work. It memorizes by size not by number. So I program the seat for me and it always goes to my husbands setting first because he is the bigger setting. The colors are great, especially white pearl. The leather seats and wood on the dashboard are beautiful. The wheels are unique too. There are engine upgrades as well as stereo, heating/air conditioning, lighting, GPS and display upgrades. They offer satellite radio and cameras and parking sensors. Ive had some engine issues, I love the smooth ride though. The standard amount of people can fit in the vehicles. My car is roomy, no one has ever complained. There is good leg room as well. I fit 2 in the front and 3 in the back seat, even with a car seat back there.

Its comfortable, stylish, has plenty of space, a V-tech engine, heated seats, GPS navigation, all leather interior, power everything, moon roof, and it handles like a dream. On top of all of that, I have their cheapest vehicle, an ILX. I have only had it for two weeks, so my opinion might change, but as of right now, you people sound like spoiled adults who have always got what they desired. Why did you buy it? I tell you why. That being said, it is unfortunate that I have had a negative experience with most my recent vehicle. I drive a certified pre-owned 2012 Acura TL Tech Package, which I purchased in 2014. Since the purchase, the car has driven very well, showing no indication of any issues. Though I purchased this vehicle in a metroplex, I live in a rural area. I drive 60 miles round-trip to and from work. Last Wednesday, while driving on a rural highway between offices, the car lost all power without any warning traveling at 75mph. The RPM dial went crazy, and then the check engine lights flickered (check charge system, check ABS, check VSA). Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. I let it run, hoping it would stay on until I could get assistance. After about 5 minutes, it shut down completely. I was stranded in between 2 small towns on a rural highway with spotty cell phone coverage plus the inconvenience of missing work. I could not restart the car—absolutely no lights came on. Thankfully, I was able to contact a tow service to tow the car back to my house (28 miles away). I assumed the battery was the issue and replaced it, which worked for 5 minutes before it was completely drained. I live 350 miles from the nearest Acura dealer, so I had to tow it there. When I got it to Acura on Saturday, they ran diagnostics on the car and determined it was a faulty alternator, covered by my extended warranty and fixed the problem. My main concern with this situation is that there was no warning whatsoever to alert me of a problem. Had I been alerted, I would have acted proactively to prevent this from occurring, especially since I live so far from a dealer. I can only imagine how much worse this could have been had it happened in the middle of the night in this rural area, or if this happened on a 5-lane highway in a big city during the morning or evening commute.When I mentioned the lack of warning to the Acura service guy, he said, “Sometimes there is no warning on these things.” That is a problem. There should always be some form of warning before a relatively new vehicle is malfunctioning. Acura needs to determine why their vehicles are not warning the drivers of potential repairs for the safety of its drivers and all other drivers.

The problem was a parasitic drain caused by the phone link component in steering wheel, this is a $741 part. I choose to disconnect the device instead without any further issue. In response to some of you who have had shock and strut problems, I replaced the with after market products, cost $185 + labour per unit (dealer cost $740 per for rear, $1000 for front struts). So yes, after market works just dandy and by the way, this is the first shock/strut replacement after 248,000km, all hard cdn driving.

Took it to the dealership and was told I needed to get my PCM, 2 engine mounts, and transmission replaced. At this time, I had only 53,800+ miles. Had I not bought the extended warranty, I would have had to pay for the PCM and engine mounts to be replaced. Now fast forward the 2014, check engine light is on as well as TCS. Had various places check it out and they told me it appears to be a transmission problem/torque converter clutch solenoid issue and to have the dealer check it out. I was hoping that it wasnt that. They tell me my transmission is pretty much shot. Im like, seriously? Im just now getting over 173,300 miles and my 2nd tranny has failed? Very disappointed. Acura knew about these problems and they should be held responsible for this. People cant afford to replace things like that every 100k miles or so. That should not happen. Needless to say, I will not be owning another Acura.

No he acted like a spoiled child who didnt get his way and totally ruined a good relationship.Ive been in business for 35 years and have handled a number of complaints. Ive found that attacking the complainer, defending your behavior does nothing for the business except lose a potential client, something Mr. ** easily accomplished via his negative behavior. He could have saved me had he been a professional rather than a spoiled child who doesnt belong where he is. You can be right but wrong and you can be wrong and be wrong. Whos the real loser here?

I have a 2015 Acura MDX that I purchased brand new and it has been garage kept ever since. The paint on the roof started to peel and slough off right above the front windshield between the windshield and the sunroof. I contacted the dealership that I bought the car from, and I was informed that this was a factory defect on this model and make car that they were aware of and they had extended the paint warranty. They did tell me that they would repair the defective area and this would take about 7 to 10 day. I asked for a rental or a loaner car but they said that their policy regarding extended warranties did not cover loaners or rentals. Due to this policy, I knew I would have to fork out several hundred dollar to pay for a rental car. Ok, I agreed to bring my car in to have the defect repaired and pay for my own rental. Three weeks later, when I went to drop my car off at Acura, I was informed by the service manager that there was a possibility that my windshield would break because it would have to be removed to properly fix the defective area. He did tell me that, if the windshield broke, it would be my responsibility and he recommended that in the event that this happened, I should file a claim with my insurance company. They did give me the option to have it painted without removing the windshield but that would void any further warranty on the paint job. My windshield was in good condition when I brought my car in to be painted. It had two small stars on it that had been previously repaired. The windshield did break during the repair and I was then forced to make a claim with my insurance and paid the $1000 deductible. In the end, I have had to pay my insurance deductible and the cost of a rental car for a week due to a defective paint job by Acura. I am now hoping my insurance company does not penalize me with higher rates.

Acura has pretty attractive and sporty models that run pretty well and not too costly. They have sleek bodies and good performance. Overall I am happy with the look and appearance of the vehicle. Upgrades are standard like other brands. The car can be nice to drive with no upgrades but if fully stocked it is a sweet ride. It has a roomy interior and overall comfy compared to other cars and other car brands, not the largest space but definitely enough for a person. Have not had any bad experiences with them. Definitely may recommend for friends shopping for a car.

But, the car is falling apart around me! *. 2 years in the silver metal covering on the driver door handle began to bubble.*. 2 years in the black trim that surrounds the outside windows began to peel. I took a hairdryer to it and peeled it all off revealing a nice shiny silver edge. So those were easily fixed by me and everything was well. Then year 5 happened and it has been all downhill since. *. Leather seats began to crack and tear. *. Seat warmer on drivers side no longer works. *. Navigation system went down. *. Battery consistently dies if not driven for 2 or more days. Batteries have been checked and rechecked by 3 different companies. *. Dash computer is dead. I cannot set the clock. Every time the battery dies the clock resets to a different time. Bluetooth gone. *. And then we are driving down the road and Im in the passenger seat and I see something move on the dash. I look closer... ITS CRACKING!!! It split from the window all the way down to just above the glove box in about 30 minutes. It has since split on the drivers side.*. Poor quality paint.We are two women in our 50s. We have had this car detailed every year since we bought it. It does not sit out in the sun very often. We own a 1998 Subaru Forrester with leather seats that it showing very little wear and tear and has 80,000 more miles then the Acura. Both cars have been well maintained and cared for. The Acura cost $20,000 more than the Subaru. Our nephew still drives our 86 Honda Accord, it has had an engine and transmission replaced and has over 300,000 miles on it. The interior looks better than the Acura. We thought we were buying a luxury sedan. I am embarrassed by this car and very disappointed in its quality. Too bad because we were loyal Honda owners for many years, NO MORE! Im buying a Subaru Outback next time.

They said they cant do anything to help with body panel issue, mdx cost 63k. For that amount I expected better service from acura and dealership. Dealer said thats the way it is, we cant fix the body panel alignment issues (really said I heard that from the dealer). We contacted the acura customer service and was told thats the way it is, I have to live with the body panel alignment issues front of the vehicle. On top of that the customer service spokeperson hung up on me. I guess thats what I get for spending $63,000 dollars on the poor looking 2022 acura mdx.. Never recommend acura to anybody ever for their poor service and cant fix their own product. Dont buy this vehicle and also on Youtube they also said 2022 mdx has body panel alignment issues, I should of listen to them and stayed away from this 2022 acura mdx, like a child put together. I was also told by Rich that the salesperson would show me how to use my navigation and pair my phone to my car via bluetooth. As far as the bluetooth issue, the salesperson tried to help me pair it to the car. But the bluetooth asked for a code that the original owner setup and no one knew it. They said they would try to contact the original owner. I have been waiting since I purchased the vehicle. Today, I spoke to Rich in person about my issue (who has not returned any of my phone calls) who is the sales manager and he told me in a rude way, I am not fixing it. I spent over $2,000 in that car to get the lights off and that is your problem, not mine. And he said this after I told him the vehicle was advertised that it has bluetooth and I wanted it fixed. I told him I was going to make a complaint and he said that isnt going to do anything. As far as the check engine light issue, that car has been to Acura three times within the past three weeks. The last time, I dropped it off which was the 3rd time on approximately around 6/28/12 to fix the engine light issue and to do an alignment. I was then told the light has something to do with the computer and the brakes which I was promised was fixed before I bought the car. They gave me a loaner and I was told it should only take about 2 or 3 days. Then, I was promised that car would be done on 7/5/12 and it still wasnt. And when I picked it up today on 7/9/12, I have different lights on and my VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) lights are on and are not working. The salesperson apologized and said he would get with the service manager Carl who I spoke to multiple times and made promise when my car would be finished and was not. Right now, I am very disappointed on how a luxury dealer treats their customers and not take ownership of their issues. I want my car fixed without waiting a week and my bluetooth unlocked.

From November 2018 to May 2019, this vehicle performed perfectly. This is until last week when I took it in for required maintenance, a recall fix and a software update. Now, every time I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, the idle engine stop/start feature kicks in and its ANNOYING as hell. At a stop, you feel the engine idle down and then when I press the accelerator the engine does a hard restart. I thought something serious was wrong with the car. This is NOT a subtle stop and restart, its very pronounced and noticeable. I immediately complained to the dealership service manager. They said it was performing as expected. Furthermore, they instructed me to push the activation button to turn feature on and off each time I drive it. I never had to do this before last week. In fact, I told him that when I test drove this MDX, I would have been hesitant to purchase as this feels like an irregularity with the car. I asked them to reverse the software update and they would not. IMO, if this had been occurring in the 7 months prior, then it was discreet and barely noticeable; not now!! I am just sick about this. Warning to others... Google this issue because there are many complaints about it. How can this be economical saving me gas money... Always restarting the vehicle? I am going to wear out the electronic starter. I am so angry.

Till owning Acura I never had a problem with alternator. In Acura its a persistent issue. To top it off the dealership next to me Piazza West Chester is probably the worst customer service and competence of any dealership Ive had experience with and zero desire to improve anything. That alone would deter me to buy another Acura. I wont be an owner of another Acura. Cant wait to get rid of this one.

Had new battery installed, but still died again. Now my navigation system says it is reconfiguring and if it isnt working in 10 minutes to take to dealer. Well, I cant afford to just run down to Acura every time there is an issue! The last time I brought it in, when I went to p/u my car wouldnt start! The side board was hanging off and remote key wouldnt work! They never offer loaner vehicles and overcharge everything. Now I have no navi. My check oil light is constantly coming on (oil is fine) and my key gets stuck in ignition!

I received an invoice for almost $3000 for excessive wear and tear. The report indicated that I had a poor repair and my car was NEVER in need of repair in the three years I had it! I was charged for two tires when only one didnt meet the spec requirements. Youre fine as long as you keep your money with Acura... They dont bill you unless you decide to leave. Fusion Auto Finance asked me to take the vehicle for inspection on Long Island and I live on Staten Island: it was a major inconvenience to me. The communication from Fusion Auto Finance initially billed me over $1600 because there was an error stating that my lease was overdue when it wasnt! The miscommunication to rectify that error was insane. Then, in dealing with Ms. Doreen ** and her supervisor Marissa **, the miscommunication continued in trying to ground my vehicle from another dealership. Overall, it was a nightmare that I never want to go through again. The corporate office (Drake ext. ** at Fusion Auto Finance) was rude and did not want to do anything else but collect my money. Its ABUSIVE and they (Drake of Fusion Auto Finance) made accusations of damages to the car and then accused me of lying when I said the vehicle was never in need of repair!! I will NEVER give my business to Acura again. They totally rip you off. There are so many other dealerships that offer better.

Apparently someone tried to steal my 2014 Acura MDX and thus it was immobilized by the anti-theft. They stole my sunglasses and apparently tried to use a crowbar to get in the window DENTING the window frame even though the car was unlocked! Therefore, I could not start my car as it was immobilized and was told to get the other key fob that was 30 minutes away at home. I could only get to that the later in the evening after the Acura service dept was closed. So the next day, today, beginning at 8 am, after TENS of calls with Acura Roadside Assistance and then with several non-English speaking tow truck drivers, the first tow truck could not get the car into neutral so they left. Hours pass, the second truck was not the right kind to pick it up after specific instructions were relayed that it had to be the special tow truck. Hours pass, the third truck had a flat tire so ultimately could not make it but failed to call. Hours pass and the fourth tow truck arrived 3 hours later than expected and then delivered the car to the WRONG DEALERSHIP ACROSS TOWN. I was then told that the car is nowhere to be found by that dealership and that the driver had driven away with it on his truck!!! Two hours later I was told it was found and being delivered to the right Acura service. Then I was told the car was LOST and could not be located at the new dealership! One hour later, after I called the last of five tow truck drivers and the dealership and connected the dots for them, the car was found again. Moral of the story, beware of Acura Roadside Assistance promises and next time plan to spend TWELVE HOURS OF YOUR OWN TIME TO RECEIVE ACURA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.
