Wiesmann Makes Triumphant Comeback With New EV
Posted On: April 29, 2022
If you've never heard of Wiesmann, don't be ashamed. It used to be a small German manufacturer that sold lightweight roadsters and coupes powered by BMW engines. We once rode shotgun in an MF3 roadster, powered by the E46 BMW M3 engine, and it was a glorious experience. To us, it was the best interpretation of a roadster since Mazda introduced the NA Miata. In later years, Wiesmann even used BMW's twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 to power its cars, weighing next to nothing. What a glorious combination. Alas, Wiesmann died in 2014, followed by a few empty promises to bring the brand back. Wiesmann finally released teaser images of an all-new model earlier this year, and now we have production-ready pictures of the Thunderball. With a name like Thunderball, we were expecting at least a B58 inline-six with a straight pipe. Or perhaps the same version of the V8 found in the current M5? Imagine riding a wave of torque and noise into the horizon, deeply offending every Karen within a five-mile radius. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Wiesmann has gone modern, and the Thunderball is powered by electricity. Electricity is widely known for not making exciting noises at all. (Yes, we get the thunder reference, but allow us to sulk and be overly dramatic for once.)rnAt least Wiesmann managed to stick to its original ethos of a lightweight car powered by more grunt than it needs. Wiesmann claims its EV weighs just 3,750 pounds. The original RF3 weighed just 2,600 lbs, but we'll gloss over that. It has a bespoke spaceframe chassis with two electric motors underneath that gloriously retro body. Together they produce 670 hp from an 83-kWh battery pack. Unlike most EVs, the Wiesmann does not have all-wheel drive. Both motors are mounted at the rear, and power is only sent to the rear wheels. A limited-slip differential is standard. This will likely be the most sideways car ever produced. Wiesmann says it will get to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and 124 mph in 8.9 seconds. The range is claimed to be 300 miles, and thanks to an 800-volt electrical system, it can be charged as quickly as a Porsche Taycan. The interior is equally beautiful, though we have no idea why it has so many gauges…rnWiesmann is currently taking orders, though a US introduction has not been confirmed. If it does come our way, expect to pay roughly $315,000.

My wife has a 2007 Mazda CX-7 (rated in Consumer Reports as a Used Car to Avoid) that she purchased new in 2007. Over the past year, she has had instances where it begins to make a terrible noise around the front end and when she checks the tires, the lug nuts for the front drivers side tire are loose to almost falling off. She has had this looked at by multiple car repair and tire specialty shops and all have told her nothing is wrong with the studs or the nuts and they just werent tightened properly. The last time it was looked at (just a week ago!) the mechanic was planning to replace the studs and then notified her that there was just a build-up of rust/corrosion at the base of the studs that wasnt allowing the nuts to tighten all the way. She just called me a few minutes ago in tears because she once again heard the terrible noise, got out and checked the tire and four nuts were almost off! Would love to know if this is a problem other CX-7 or other Mazda model-owners have experienced. Very frustrating!

I bought a brand new 2012 Sky Active. It has been in the shop 3 times to correct a drift to the left. Mazda is pooh-poohing the issue and blowing me off. They say the car is fine and up to specs. My friends have driven it and agree with me. I have read many blogs on the same car and the same issue. The car is a liability and this treatment is unethical. I want them to buy it back or replace it.

My name is Aubrey **** and I have been a Mazda driver /owner for the past 20 years. I am now the owner of a Mazda CX-7. My previous vehicle was a Mazda Tribute. Mazda is an easy sale for me. Since getting my first Mazda, the only thing I have needed to let the sales person know is how much I need to spend and the main features I am looking for. I have never had to write a letter like this before since all my previous Mazdas were excellent choices. However, I have to express my displeasure with this vehicle. I will attempt to express all the features with which I have been having problems over the past few months since I have acquired this vehicle.Wing Mirrors. The CX-7 is a cross between the ordinary car and the SUV. The wing mirrors are much too small for this vehicle and presents quiet and enormous blind spot. I have had a number of near misses since acquiring this vehicle!Automatic Transaxle Control. This Transaxle control is causing me trouble due to the design. Most automatic vehicles only requires a push of a release button and pulling the lever straight down into the required position. In this vehicle, there is no button. However, you have to maneuver your way around a number of grooves in order to get to a desired position. This gives the impression of a manual stick shift which to me seems like a backward step in the design of the vehicle. The Radio. The Tribute I had before the CX-7 had the feature in which was able to continue to listening to the radio when I got to my destination even after switching the engine off until I exited the vehicle. The CX-7 is lacking this feature which I find a huge drawback as it is a newer model. The Climate Control System. Safety is a very important aspect when driving. Most vehicles are designed for the drivers to keep their eyes focused on the plethora of things happening on the road at every second and features which distract from this should not be present in the vehicles. In the Tribute, with regards to the climate control system, there were five (5) buttons to select your preference of either the defroster, defroster and floor vents, the dashboard vents, the dashboard and floor vents and the floors only vents . This made it so you only have to take your eyes off the road once to select the mode you need. In this vehicle there are two (2) buttons, one for the defroster and one for the other modes. Therefore this makes it so that it is fine to select for the defroster however for the other modes, you are required to take your eyes off the road multiple times in other to be sure of the exact mode which was selected, as the second button needs to be pressed numerous times depending on the desired mode.Bluetooth. It is the law that persons are no longer allowed to hold phone in order to have a conversation when driving, so Bluetooth should not be thought of as a bonus feature in modern vehicle but a standard feature. This Bluetooth is seriously flawed. It rings, I answer but there is no sound. I cannot hear the person nor can they hear me. I hang up and the entire display goes blank. The radio goes out and the time resets itself. After which, I have no radio and no phone for days. This event occurs on a regular basis, it corrects itself, after which the phone will ring again and the whole incident occurs all over.Indicator. The Tribute I drove before had the indicators neutralized after 60 seconds. So if I was at a stoplight waiting to go left or right the indicator would neutralize and I would have to put it back on. This a great feature to have as when changing lanes on a high way the CX-7 keeps the light on where as the tribute would neutralize after a minute. It is very irksome for driver to be blowing and swearing at me on the highway for not changing lane as is being indicated. In conclusion, I have to confess the CX-7 is a step back into the past and I would happily trade it for a tribute with the Bluetooth and the heated seats as it is my opinion that I have been downgraded in my move from the tribute to the CX-7. My number is **** I would appreciate if someone from the costumer service could call me and we could find a common ground in which to settle this matter hopefully within the next week.

My 2007 Mazda 6 4 cylinder engine failed with only 107,000 KM. This was 7000 KM after my warranty expired. The whole engine needs to be replaced as it was a catastrophic failure. I had fully maintained my car at the Mazda dealer, changed the oil on schedule every time and had only Mazda technicians working on my car. Mazda Canada would only cover 33% of the replacement engine. This will be the last Mazda I ever buy, very displeased with Mazda Canadas lack of concern for their own reputation and customers.

I leased a Mazda in August of last year. I got in a car accident in January. Mazda in Palm Beach Gardens has my car for repair. They can not give me a date since they cant get parts until maybe June. Mazda Financial told me to trade the lease in for a new one, I spent 5 hours at Mazda in PBG they wanted to offer me the same car @ 750.00 a month vs the 300.00 I am paying currently as well as 5000. down and trade in the car they are repairing. I have called Mazda corp, Mazda Financial as well as the Mazda dealership for some help with no returned phone. They will NOT give me a loaner car because they only give out loaners for service issues. My current position is I have NO car. No idea when it will be fixed. Paying 300.00 a month for my lease as well as 1500.00 a month for a rental car.

My Mazda Tribute caught fire sitting in my driveway due to a recalled ABS Module failure. Mazda admitted blame after over a week and said they would fix my car at no cost to me. After eight weeks of constant battle with Mazda USA and Hiley Mazda of Huntsville, Alabama, I was told my car was ready to pick up. The repairs of the car are a complete mess. The badly burned brake lines were not replaced and the badly burned wiring harness was spliced back together in pieces. They didnt even match the insulation colors to the existing wires and mismatched the wire size! After two more weeks of arguing with Mazda Customer Service Center in Irvine California, I was told by telephone call that Mazda engineers reviewed the photos I sent them and determined the repairs were Just fine, but they would gladly add some more electrical tape to the harness if I would like. I demanded to talk to someone in higher authority and was denied. I asked to have a report of their findings in writing and was denied. I just took my car to an independent repair facility for inspection and they agreed with my complaints 100%. Their estimate to repair is going to cost me and my insurance company $2600. Mazda is the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with in my life. I will never purchase another Mazda as long as I live.

At around 4:30 PM just last October 2, while traveling south at 30-35mph on Hunziker St. near Wall St. Tigard, OR. I had to center a piece of debris in the road and it struck and punctured the engine oil pan. This minor contact deployed both airbags which busted the windshield and knocked out my radio, vent louvers and rearview mirror. My research via the internet found this to be an issue with 95 Miatas. Please look into this issue to confirm if Mazda is responsible for the bags/glass/control module, sensors and switches. Understandably, the oil pan is my problem, and thank goodness I was not injured by the bags or fling glass and was able to maintain control of the vehicle.

Driving home three weeks ago, the check oil light came on in my car. As I was trying to exit to a safe location (I was on the highway), the check engine light came on and then the battery light came on. The engine was shot. I purchased the car last July. Mazda claims it was a faulty oil change and they will not cover the cost of the new engine. The car cost me $18,000. I purchased it last year after I got hit in an automobile accident that left my previous car totaled. I paid for the Mazda 2 in full. Now Continental Mazda in Naperville, IL is stating I need to spend another $5300 on a new engine due to a faulty oil change. Im devastated. They will not help me out nor will the $20 oil change company (obviously). Mazda needs to make this wrong situation right again.

Purchased my CX9 in late 2012. Purchased the top-of-the-line touring with all the options. Got the top extended warranty and made sure I was set for 10 years. I love the car and how it drives and handles. HOWEVER, the Bluetooth stopped working properly July 2013 and Mazda spent almost a year blaming my phone (Blackberry) and my husbands iPhone. Finally, in August 2014, they admitted they have an issue with the software and it was a module issue. Mazda CANNOT fix it. They keep putting in test modules yet they refuse to provide me with respectful customer service. I said I would be their test subject and help them, no thank you for all my time and they have made the problems worse, not better. And when I asked Mazda Canada to have the engineer working on the issue call me, nothing... I asked them for compensation. Nothing... Now, I have a car where $2,500 worth of options dont work. I cant sell the car and I cant trade it in. Mazda has left me stuck with a car they cannot fix. Mazda Canada has put it back on the dealer and is even treating them with disrespect and indifference. I leased a Mazda 3, hatchback in August 2016. At my 10k servicing at the dealership, they indicated unusual wearing of tires. I asked for them to be replaced. They said no, it was a limited warranty on the tire. At 15k servicing, the same conversation. At 20k, the same conversation. Found out these tires on a new car, have no mileage warranty... at all. The dealership will not replace the tires. At 32 months of the lease and 22,700 miles they will do nothing. I like the car, but not the tires, and Mazda will do nothing, as the dealership watches a customer complain, and knows it is a problem. Others have complained about the same thing. I would not purchase or lease another auto from Mazda, or Groove Mazda, in Centennial. Really poor support of a customer. Not what anyone wants.

Got the Mazda Tribute secondhand really cheap... runs really well... have not had any issues except flat tire and the key not wanting to come out of the ignition. Also, the gear shift sticks but I attribute that to the previous owner letting her kids accidentally spill a soda on it. It has grey color... spacious design... has cruise control that works great. I love any kind of SUV/Crossover... they have so much more room than even a large car... great for trips... modern and sleek design. But I wish it had better quality interior material and design. The car is secondhand and she had kids but they would not have been able to do the damage quite so easily otherwise.

This car drives very similar to the vehicle I replaced- Lincoln Navigator. I test drove my Mazda CX-9 during a snow storm and I was pleased at how well it barreled through snow drifts. Its very luxurious and roomy. Also fits me in regard to seat belt since Im very short; many belts cut me off at the neck. Love the interior, including color. Great gas mileage. Im proud of how car looks and performs. But I have difficulty locking car from inside car while car is still running, or turned off in my driveway... And I dont like the exterior color of black - really shows dirt. I also wish I had a tow package...

I bought my CX7 new in September 2007. I love the vehicle except for its very poor reliability. It has cost me in excess of $2000 a year to maintain this vehicle. Most parts that fail are notorious for failing but Mazda either wont cover the cost or their extended warranty is so meager it doesnt apply to my vehicle because of the mileage e.g. AC compressor; Oxy Sensor. I just discovered that my engine bay high pressure fuel pump is not working properly. I replaced the one in fuel tank 8 months ago and if it fails, it can wreck the engine. Mazda wants $1400 for the part! A better quality aftermarket part is available for less than half this price. Also, the Oxygen sensor on the Cat Converter has to be replaced at huge cost. I replaced the other one eight months ago. Together my current repair bill will be about $2000 including labor. You can find lots of stories just like mine on the internet (e.g. Edmunds).

The Mazda CX 5 is a great looking SUV. The after sales service sucks. I have determined that the Electronic Park Brake is a design flaw. This must be the only front wheel drive vehicle that wears out its rear brake pads and tyres before the front. Mazda with TSB 004-05/15 replaces the brake calipers when the actual problem is the sensor which controls the EPB. Like a person who hates constructive critique. I am not surprised that they are suffering in the market.

We just discovered a leak on the passenger side floor area when the AC is on. Removed the mat and the carpet was soaked. Musty smell followed. The dealer said that he had never heard this complaint for this model but did list a number of other models where the AC drain was clogged and required unclogging. Fine. This should not be happening. It will cost their hourly rate to diagnose the problem. Sounds like a design issue. On the drivers side there has also been a leak that occurs after a big rain. The water is puddled on the mat. The passenger side trickles down and under the mat. Any feedback would be helpful.

My daughters RX-8 has been giving her a lot of trouble, completely dying at times while shes driving. Shes had it to a Mazda garage that told her that she needed new sparks plugs and wires, etc. She herself paid $1,400 to get this fixed (at this time, it was under warranty). The day after she got it home, it did the same exact thing. She took it back to the Mazda garage and then they told her that she needs a new engine, but her warranty had expired a couple days prior to her taking it back in. Now she is due to start her freshman year at college, with an unreliable car unless shed rather use her tuition money for a new engine (I dont think so). Mazda should be embarrassed to allow a young lady to feel unsafe, when she is trying to get an education and better herself. I dont know if there is any other avenue that I can take on this matter and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Everything takes it 20sec! 20sec to check the card, 20sec to fetch its version, 20sec to check the cloud version. Are they totally disconnected from modern applications? Do they know that google react to keystrokes as we type them?? 2. They could also show the current version and expected date of the new version to save the pain of using this application in the first place.3. They could send emails informing of a new release (they maintain accounts on the cloud with our emails). And yes you guessed it right to go to the cloud account and check something it is another 10 or 20 minutes per cloud interaction!

I purchased my used 2006 Mazda in 2007. Since that time, Ive had the vehicle aligned four times, the front struts and bushings replaced, and Ive purchased 12 tires...two of which were for blow-outs due to inner tire wall wear. Each time Ive replaced tires, its been due to inner wall wear. Now, Im again faced with the need for new tires all the way around once again, but also rear suspension shocks. And I also need to replace the front struts/shocks once again. Ive maintained my vehicle and tires appropriately. I do not use my car but on city roadways and highways. No potholes or dirt roads, etc.; per car fax, this vehicle has no history of any damage whatsoever. After reading multiple websites, as well as the NHTSA concerning these very same issues with the Mazda 5 models from 06 to 10...I contacted Mazda USA. They were of no help. I requested the changes that were made to the Mazda 5s that resolved these issues and was flat-out denied this information, and when asked why they couldnt provide, they continually ignored my requests for an explanation as to why they were withholding the updates and changes. They also stated they would be of no assistance to resolving this major safety issue. Im shocked as to why they would withhold information to a Mazda 5 owner who carts around her family daily. I want to know how to properly correct this very dangerous issue, but was denied this information after multiple attempts to obtain it. With the amount of complaints concerning the very same issues with this particular vehicle...something needs to be done to ensure the safety of the families who ride in these cars daily with the potential risk of tire failure. Since its the inner wall wearing, operators cannot see the damage; they only see the outer tire, which shows minimal wear... Its very serious and very dangerous...

2009 Mazda 6 low seating comfort - Nice car to drive but cant handle a long trip. The seats are very firm and give both me and my wife a sore ** on longer trips. I mentioned to our local dealer when serviced but they commented it was normal. My son has a BT50 and the seating is far more comfortable. I did mention the discomfort to one of the sales reps and he could not believe me. It will soon be out of warranty and just wondered if or how I could get a second opinion. If that is the way it is that’s fine, but I will more than likely sell this car for a more comfortable sedan and quite likely not bother looking at a Mazda purchase again in the future.

We bought a fully loaded CX5 in 8/14. It was the best decision weve made. Because of my back problems, I need to have a seat thats adjustable as well as an upright position. The CX5 provides that for me. Last summer we drove across the country and depending on my back, I was able to make adjustments to make it very comfortable for when I drove as well as being a passenger. The safety features such as the blind spot monitoring, the rear camera, and the automatic lights and windshield wipers were so helpful when driving. I felt so safe in this car. Mileage was good too, the car still has under 12K and were doing 26.7 mpg total. My only negative is that the rear hatch/door is not power controlled. In a fully loaded car I wouldve expected that, but it was not an option. I do want to note about some of the other reviews here - people need to explain their problems better. Owners also have to be realistic. How one drives a car does affect brakes. Front end Collisions only trigger front air bags (not side ones). Injuries can be caused by not wearing seat belts. And yes, sometimes cars have defects, but tens of thousands of cars are made of a particular model each year. A few will have problems from the get go. This is why many states have lemon laws. But if 5 people report the same problem, this is not a defect. Most likely your car got that 1 in 25,000 bad part. In that situation, if you can definitely prove it was Not your fault, you may get the maker to pay for the repair. But usually you cant, so hope the bill is low - that’s all.

My 2005 Mazda 6 broke down along side road. The engine only had 40,000 miles on it. I called Bob and he told me to have it towed there and hed take care of me. I was later told that the engine blew but as his crew looked at it, they verified that the engine and oil was clean. He said hed call regional and see what he could do for me to get the engine repaired or replaced. After several weeks of run around, I was finally told that it was going to cost $90 for the service team to look at the engine. I was then informed that he could put a salvaged engine in for $4,000. I about freaked out--$4,000 for a used engine that came with a mere 90-day warranty? I called Mazda headquarters and was told that I shouldve bought an extended warranty. I told her that she was crazy as no car costing over $20,000 should have a blowing engines with a mere $40,000. I then asked if Mazda would help out by paying for the service or the engine--or at least half, so that I could get the car back working. She told me that Bob offered me a great deal and I had refused him. I told her what he offered and $4,000 for a used engine plus other parts as needed didnt sound like a good deal to me at all. I asked her, If it was you car, would you not expect Mazda to stand behind their product and assist? She told me that Mazda stands behind their products and I shouldve purchased the extended warranty. After reviewing the Internet, I found out that Mazda 6 engines seem to have a lot of loss of oil or blow out problems. I always thought Mazda was a good company but I know Ill never purchase another. Ill make sure that everyone I speak with would hear about my experience with the vehicle, the dealers run around, and the arrogance at Mazda HQ in California.

I bought my 2021 Mazda CX-5 in February of 2021 in Saint Louis, Missouri. I travel for work and I am currently in Flagstaff, Arizona. My vehicle began making a roaring sound from the passenger side tire. I thought it was odd because my car only has 30,000 miles on it. I took it to a local mechanic because the closest Mazda dealership is over 100 miles away. And I did not feel comfortable driving it. Turns out my wheel bearing is bad. I called Mazda customer service and they said “Yes that wheel bearings are covered under warranty, and they can call for a tow truck but there is no guarantee that a tow truck will be able to come get it, and if they do there will be no guarantee that it can be dropped back off. I have no other vehicle to pick it up. I asked if I could just take my vehicle to a mechanic and have them repair it and be reimbursed and the customer service rep said, “no it will have to be a Mazda dealership for warranty to cover it.”In conclusion, there is no guarantee that my vehicle will be picked up, and if it is there is no guarantee that it will be dropped off. Also no reimbursement so I am paying out of pocket. What is the point of a “warranty” that does not give you options to repair your vehicle? The customer service rep said she would transfer me to her supervisor and that she also sent her my number in case we got disconnected. She hung up the phone and I never received a call from her supervisor. Mazda warranty is **.

We are a non-profit agency that owns a 2000 Mazda minivan to transport clients. A driver lost the key to the van, our only key. The van was running fine and we have found this to be a very reliable vehicle. Because the key must be programmed to the ignition, the van had to be towed to the dealer. Several keys were ordered, but we were told they were defective. Finally, a good key was reprogrammed, but the van wouldnt start. So, we were told we needed an immobilizer unit. More delay and now the bill had risen to $1,100. Once the immobilizer unit was installed, the van still wouldnt start and we were told we needed an instrument cluster. Another $1,400. That was a month ago. A defective part was sent from Mazda, followed by the wrong part. We still dont have our van and the dealer doesnt have the replacement part. It has been two months. I have called Mazda customer assistance twice. No help. The situation is completely unacceptable and yet we feel unable to do anything to rectify it. What if the dealer has incorrectly diagnosed the problem? We have no way to know until the instrument cluster finally arrives (we hope) and is installed. If this really is the fault of Mazda Corporate and their supply chain for parts, something needs to be fixed. Im wondering if others have had this kind of experience.

I bought two CX-5s within a month of each other. One Certified and one was not. Both cars had the same problem the first month of ownership. Totally worn out brakes on both rotors on both cars were extremely rusted. Neither was covered by Integrity Mazda in Chattanooga, TN. I contacted all kind of people. Finally ended up with Mazda Corporation. They were as worthless as the dealership. I am now working on a commercial with Honda to tell people that changing to another car is a huge mistake. Never had these issues with Honda.

I have not had a single issue with my car in six years, it has been the absolute best purchase I have ever made. The car has also retained much of its resale value. My vehicle is totally manual, transmission and windows; the vehicle also gets great gas mileage. I chose this car because it was rated very high for reliability and overall value at the time I bought the vehicle. However, I dislike the clips that secure parts to my vehicle, and they break very easily. The oil pan fell off a few months after purchase and some of the interior clip ons broke as well.

It has been good so far. It is good on gas and seems to be mostly reliable. Has a pretty big trunk for a little car. Runs pretty good. It is great for me and my daughter but has a good size back seat if we want to take others with us. It has some updated technology so that is nice, I can connect my phone and it is really easy to drive. It was the car I was able to get approved for so that is what I bought. However, the headlights have to be turned on and off manually, my old car had running lights so I didnt have to worry about the lights all the time. It is pretty low to the ground so it is a big change from an SUV.

I purchased a 2015 Mazda CX7 from Looms Ford in Fredericksburg Virginia June of 2015. At the time of purchase the vehicle had 37K. Looms Ford knew that the battery was going, told me when theres a problem, contact us. When the car wouldnt start about 6 weeks later, I called and they informed me, not their problem. The battery blew up under the hood, had it towed, mechanic said he never seen anything like it. Thats the first problem. Car made a whistle noise, come to find out its the turbo. Mind you this car has only 64K miles on it.Called Mazda, told them the turbo had failed. They want records of all maintenance. I can give them records of battery situation because the car was towed. But when it comes to changing oil or filters, I am quite capable. Now they wont fix turbo because I chose to change my own oil instead of paying someone else to do it. Mazda us nothing but a letdown. I wouldnt recommend a Mazda vehicle to my worst enemy. I will NEVER buy another Mazda.

I bought a new MX on Jan 16, 2016. I already owned a 2004 MX5 that I bought new in 2002. When I bought my new car I asked if I qualified for the $500 loyalty incentive, which they assured me I did. During closing they did not have it included. The closer said it was an oversight and the sales mgr would take care of it. After the close, the sales mgr had me fill out paperwork and submit a copy of my 2002 cars current registration. He said it would take about 3 weeks to process. It has now been 3 months and I still have not received the $500. I have called the Mazda customer care # several times, and I have contacted the dealership several times. They say they are looking into it but they do not return my calls or email. I think 3 months is more than enough time to resolve this. Im very unhappy with both the dealership (Auto Barn, Chicago, IL) and Mazda USA for not delivering on their promise.

I got a recent recall (Ive had them in the past) and was treated poorly. Actually, they refused to send me a refund for work that was done prematurely because of a faulty part. I am upset because I really was one the 1st people to drive my 2014 Mazda6 in the ATLANTA AREA. Basically, the work I had done wouldnt have happened had they recalled the issue sooner; now they refuse to pay me back! We wanted the benefits of a minivan that was easier to maneuver and at a lower price. However, it has poor overall leg room and we cannot use the third row seats for people of all ages and sizes. We want more overall leg room, but especially more room for the third row seats. This would help to carry people of all ages and sizes in all of the passenger seats.

As indicated in the service record when I got my first oil change, I had 3,000 miles on my 2012 Mazda 5 when I first complained to a Mazda dealer that my car would wobble when going forward into a right turn and in reverse when making a left turn. The service people said they could not recreate the problem as stated on the work order, but it would mysteriously go away for a while when I complained during multiple oil changes. Recently, at 25,000 miles, the service manager at this dealership finally told me my rotors were out of round so they were going to ground them down to make them straight. I requested they be replaced with new rotors but they said no. The dealer who sold me the car with the defective rotors said no and Mazda Headquarters said see the dealer who sold me the car.The dealer I bought the car from said its an issue of wear and he doesnt do warranty work unless hes paid by Mazda. His service mgr. said he didnt feel or see a problem during a test drive after the rotors were filed down so they refused to replace them. If it was an issue of wear, the problem would not have been occurring since I bought the car. Filing down the rotors mostly eliminated the problem, thus indicating the rotors were bad from the start. To make sure the dealer saw information about the wheels wobbling in formal complaints on paperwork from the 3,000- and 25,000-mile oil changes, I filed a complaint with the state. They sent me a notice that the dealer said it was a wear problem and they would check with Mazda Headquarters!!Now Im wondering if the State of Michigan Attorney General has the will to tackle big business. I sent them every piece of information related to the problem and I would like my rotors replaced. Anybody out there have any ideas, similar problems?

Help me please! My engine problems began at 38,000 mi. Dealership only replaced VVT actuator once, before stating it was over a year therefore they would not replace a second time without my covering the cost. Another dealership fought corporate to have it covered. I was thankful! Then real problems began. Two turbos later and many code lights naming everything under Mazda sun, I had the last ever illuminating engine light that would not clear regardless of what Mazda service did. I hate this company. It was finally paid off but I had to sell it for $5000, because it needed a new engine. 2012 CX9 Transmission failure. I bought a new CX9 in 2013, primarily because we wanted a reliable car for my wife. It was a good car up until about the summer of 2019 when the transmission started to shudder in 5/6 gears. With only 118K miles, we took it to the dealer and they confirmed the torque converter was bad. So I was 18k miles past my extended warranty mileage and I was told it would cost me $3600 for a new transmission...and could be more if the front transaxle has issues. This was our first Mazda and we are so disappointed in the quality of these cars and with the response from mazda...which was no response. Ive owned many cars and never had any transmission issues of this magnitude. So going forward, I will only buy Honda or Toyota cars. Mazda should be ashamed of putting out this crap to consumers and sticking them (us) with a bill that we cant afford.

OK, the car drives and handles well so thats why it gets two stars but otherwise owning it has been awful. The computer needs to update? Reboots in the middle of driving. No kidding, literally on the road, using the navigation I spent several hundred dollars for, the cars computer reboots. Not once, twice. I take it to the dealership, the guy says yeah, the computer needs to be updated, no big deal. Then there is the computer not recognizing my phone 9 times out of 10, including when I wanted to dial 911 to report an accident. So useful! Even when it does recognize the phone, want to play Pandora? Better have the phone on and Pandora open or else nope. Open phone and turn on Pandora after the car decides it cant find them? Nope. Not going to recognize Pandora until you turn the car off and back on again. Want to use the iPod that is literally plugged into it? Maybe. We might let you. Unless we refuse to recognize it until you reboot the iPod and turn off and on the car. Then the drivers seat ripped within a few months of purchase. I took it in, it took weeks to replace the seat. Then the plastic piece that protects the electronics under the drivers seat broke. I took it in, got it fixed, that took weeks because the part had to be ordered. It broke again. I got it fixed again. It just broke this evening, and I just dont even know what to do. I deeply regret purchasing this vehicle.

I was once a loyal Mazda person. I loved the cars... until I bought a Mazda 5. Nothing but trouble. First there was the nasty habit of that car to overheat when idling for longer than 10 minutes, at which point the steering would freeze up and it became undriveable. A very dangerous thing in rush hour in Texas. Now, I have to replace a broken plastic cover to the tail light. Mazda made it so that you cant replace just the plastic cover. You have to replace the entire tail light assembly at nearly $500.00 just for the part! This is the very definition of insanity. I will never, ever buy another Mazda.

I had an accident in my Mazda 6 on February 17, 2012. I was totally innocent as someone drove up the back of me. My car was towed to a local crash repair. They ordered replacement parts from Mazda on 27/2/12. To date, they have still not received the parts from Mazda and hence I am still without my car. I contacted the customer support area to find out what the problem was and they advised that Mazda was moving warehouses and unfortunately they couldn’t locate the parts. I rang them back today, 17-4-12, only to find that some parts will still be at least 10-14 working days away. I have been without my car for 8 weeks and will not be getting it back in the near future. Mazda definitely do not live up to their value statement.

The clutch on my Mazda 6 (bought new) wore out after approximately 10,000 miles. Replaced by Mazda Main Agents, this also failed after approx. 10,000 miles. Again replaced by Mazda Main Agent, and lasted only around 10,000 miles. Regularly serviced by the same Mazda Main Agents (except just once).I am 81 years old, have held a driving license for well over 60 years. For many years did all my own servicing, maintenance and repairs. You name it and I have almost certainly had it in pieces. The exceptions being gearboxes and differentials. (Never had one of these fail). I claimed reimbursement for these repairs, but was told it was due to my riding the clutch. Rubbish! when I learned to drive back in the 1950s riding the clutch was a sin because, in those days cars were fitted with carbon (graphite) clutch thrust bearings which being soft would wear out very quickly if one rode the clutch, modern cars are fitted with tapered roller bearings or simple ball races. I never wore one out but the ingrained lesson never to ride the clutch has stayed with me ever since.A letter later from them suggested that I was accelerating away from traffic lights etc. too hard, insinuating that perhaps I was a bony racer. In my 20s, 30s and 40s this MIGHT have been the case, but in my 70s and now 80s I am long passed such behavior. I have done everything required of me prior to taking them to the small claims court, including utilizing the facilities of Mediators but they still keep coming up with silly replies. The latest being that I have the clutch examined by an authorized independent company. They also said that this would be impossible because the parts were thrown away on being removed. I am about to write to them yet again informing them that I have, together with other items, both the clutch and the scored flywheel that was replaced in my garage.Advice to everyone considering purchasing a new car, DO NOT BUY A MAZDA without checking the record of service one can expect from your Mazda main Agent. If anything fails, it would seem that they will do anything to avoid recompensing one for anything failing. My claim will be made under the Customer Rights and Protection Act, under the section stating that any purchase should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. All the time that this correspondence has been going on, (several months) the worry and stress has had very severe adverse effect on my health. They have been informed of this but apparently consider it not worth their while to make any comment on it. Hopefully, if you wish, I will come back to you and let you know the result.

This is about my second consecutive Mazda sedan I have owned. After I was notified of the recent recall of the passenger side inflator on my 2012 Mazda 6 I wanted to also have the drivers side one replaced, at my expense, and when it was later recalled (as it most likely would be), I wanted to be reimbursed for whatever my cost was. I first presented this request to the dealership who told me the cost would be around $700, because they said the inflator part alone could not be replaced. Because I am willing to pay this amount I then contacted Mazda Corporate Customer Experience where I was told Mazda could not promise any reimbursement but would “review” such request. Finally, I contacted two executives at the Corporation with this request. My last request to one of them was made by letter mailed by certified mail. Although the letter mailing was verified received by USPS, it has now been some 3 months and I have not received any reply and I dont expect to. My Opinion: This clearly shows me: MAZDA DOESN’T EVEN CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS TO EVEN RESPOND TO THEM IN THIS SITUATION. This experience has now cemented my decision to never purchase another Mazda again. I probably should not have purchased this one because I had a problem with the moonroof not always closing on the last one that was only fixed because a friend of mine knew someone at Mazda that I was able to connect with who got the problem finally fixed after my having taken the car to the dealership numerous times and told they “had to replicate the problem” before it could be fixed.

Year and a half ago, I bought a CX-7 2008. At first it was great, loved that car! It was perfect for our family and loved the way it drove. A year later, things started majorly happening. I noticed that the tires were wearing down fast. I had it aligned and rotated when I needed to. I did everything on the right time line, but still the tires started going bald fast. Then I took it in for a routine oil change and was told that the oil cooler was leaking. When I bought the car from a dealer, that was an issue, and the dealer fixed it before I bought it. Now a year later, it was leaking again. So I took it to my mechanic and he checked it out. He found that not only was it leaking, but that the engine was going because there were metal parts in the oil. I had to buy a new engine! Now 6 months later, the oil cooler is leaking again!!!! I asked the Mazda dealership why? They didnt have any answers for me. Now Im backwards in this piece of junk!!! And I have to have a car to go to work. Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is to deal with dealership, you know how great it is to be taken care by a great sales person. For the first time I walked in, Mr. Jason **, took care of me with no pressure, taking the time to answer all my questions, printing me clear and detailed sales offers for financing and leasing, and for the first time in my experience, was trustworthy! Went several times to meet him for questions, until the time we were going to sign for lease. Provided him with all requested necessary documents and information the evening before. On May 30th, 2018, after 3 hours spent with him with all paperwork’s, we had to wait for his Financial Manager Nick, who was supposedly too busy in assisting other clients, when his office was empty. Jason could not even have an appointment schedule from this busy person. He asked me to pay half of the deposit to hold the car for me, and charged my credit card. Therefore, he asked me to come the next day, May 31st, in confirming that Nick would call me to set up an appointment, and to confirm me the credit approval and monthly payments amount. Waited until 1:40PM to contact Jason because I have not received any feedback from anyone. Around 2:00PM, Jason texted me back in apologizing that he was assisting clients, but no information regarding appointment, credit approval or anything related to the lease offer. Only because the Financial Manager is again too busy and so well organized that he cannot delivered. Explained to Jason, that if they are not interested by my potential account, it will force me to seek for another dealer offer in order to not lose the benefit of 0% interest financing/lease special May sales. At 3:00PM, just a quick text to let me know I was approved for the amount, but no appointment still... After many back and forth with several Mazda dealerships, I accepted another offer to get my car ready that evening at the last minute! Texted back to Jason to express my disappointment about his Financial Manager and the General Manager of this dealership, who both let him down and made him lose the sale. Also requested to be refunded of my deposit charged on my credit card.As of June 4th, no news about either my refund, or a call from any Manager to apologize or anything else. So, I called to speak with Mr. Mark ** who is registered on BBB as General Manager, but no one as his phone or can transfer my call... Called 4 times to be transferred on voicemail, so asked to General Manager to call me back, and left them all information needed to understand the situation. Mr. Chris **, General Manager called me back, but had no information about the situation. Expressed my disappointment about the way his dealership is operated, his Financial Manager who did not delivered, how it is a shame to not support and provide resources to his great sales persons to close sales, and claimed for my refund. He asked my credit card number again, because he claimed no one will have it and it is the only way I could receive my refund... wonder what they do with card receipts after you pay, and may be they do have a shoe box accounting records systems! He also told me not to be worry about his management style… Provided him with my card information, and he claimed I will be refunded same day. He told me that he would talk with his Financial Manager to understand the situation, but I advised him to talk with Mr. Jason ** who lost the sale because of Financial Manager.I feel very sorry for Jason because, from the beginning to the end of the process during my 4 visits, he offered me a great service and beyond expectations compared to all dealerships from several brands I went to for months for car shopping. He was a trustworthy sales persons (which is very rare) with a consultant approach, very patient with me in explaining in details all my questions, and professional. Even this dealership is 1 hour drive from where I live, I really wanted to close the sales with him. In summary, I would not recommend this dealership if you don’t have the time to be lied around, and have to wait for the Financial Manager to deign to do his job professionally. If you are not in hurry, well then asked for Mr. Jason ** who is the person I would recommend.

My Mazda 2010 CX7 is at the dealer and it needs the timing chain and the turbo charger to be replaced. The car has only 39,450 miles on it and I have sent Mazda warranty department copies of oil changes much more than they required and they denied to fix these parts due to sludge in the engine due to lack of oil changes. I have changed the oil and filter in my vehicle approximately every 3400 miles of which Mazda requires at every 7500 miles. They are stating that it is not a manufacturer defect but lack of maintenance. This is false. It is all over the internet that similar problems have occurred time and time again with the CX7 from 2007. Now Mazda is refusing to warrant the work based on sludge. The car is defective and it gets too hot thats why if there is sludge, it builds up the car. It is not made right. The warranty states that these parts are covered up to 6 years or 60,000 miles. I am well out of that range at 3 years 39,000 miles. Mazda needs to address this ongoing problem and start taking responsibility for the defects.

My Mazda 5 with a 2.3 L engine just blew up - it needs a whole new engine. The car only had 117,000 km on it, and the extended warranty just ran out 4 months ago. Whitby Mazda is trying to tell me that its my fault because I cant find all the paperwork for oil changes. The staff at Whitby Mazda are rude and unhelpful, and I no longer have a car. As a single mother with 2 children, this is causing me a lot of grief. Do not buy a Mazda, I will never buy one again.

Recently, I had an issue with my vehicle when it wouldnt start. I had my car towed to my mechanic in Indialantic. He ran the diagnostic test on my car and found out that the ECM computer system had failed, and also fried 6 of my coils. My mechanic had given me a quote of $1,400 for repairs. In the meantime, I was calling around to see if I could find an ECM for a cheaper price. I came across an EPA federal warranty that stated: Any vehicle with less than 80,000 miles and less than 8 yrs. old is entitled to this EPA warranty on any specified major emission control components. The warranty states that all components are covered and the manufacturer will have to repair the components free of charge. I brought the warranty over to my mechanic to look it over. He stated that he would call Mazda and find out if they will honor this federal warranty. My mechanic spoke with a gentleman named Robert **. He approved the use of the warranty and told the mechanic to have us bring the vehicle over to Mazda. The next day, I paid to have the car towed to Mazda. Robert ** stated that he would call me before he started to give me a price on the repairs. When he called later that afternoon, he gave me a quote of $1,700. This was $300 more than my mechanic. He then called back again and stated that he would drop the cost to $1,345. It is costing me the same price with the warranty as it would have at my mechanics garage, without the warranty. I also had to pay to have the car towed to Mazda. I only brought it over to Mazda because the gentlemen stated he would honor the warranty, and he is charging me more. I feel belittled and taken advantage of.

After more than 30 years being a Toyota car owner, I made the mistake to buy a new Mazda CX9. Last week, I went to the car wash. When I came out I found out that the BSM (blind spot monitor) stop working. So I took the car to the dealer and they found out a very tiny scratch, an inch long. It wasnt a dent, not even damage the paint. But they said that this damage the computer, and they send me to their Mazda collision shop and want to charge me 1,500$ plus a new computer. UAU “Are these cars so weak?” Trying to take advantage… I dont know. But Im very disappointed. Never again Mazda. Never.

I bought a car here 6 months ago. I had some bad experience but my wife insisted on buying something, so I did. Paperwork included many extra charges. They sold a prepaid maintenance plan - charged us for premium plan but paperwork said basic plan. Took me a while to get the errors corrected. Recently my car had a recall. Called the dealer. Literally, the conversation with dimitry went like this:I: I heard there is a Mazda recall. Dmitry: Yea, dont worry, we will call you. I: this sounds bad. Whats the issue? Dmitry: hey, no one died. So dont worry. I: are you sure? You sound so casual about it. Dmitry: are you looking for a free loaner or some free things? I: what? You sound bad. Is there a manager I can talk to. Dmitry: this is as good as it gets. What else can I do for you.WOW! Called the manager later on. Sal. He was no better either. This dealership has NASTY scammers masquerading as salespeople and service folks. Try calling the service dept to talk to a service specialist. You will NOT be able to reach anyone, no matter how many times you try. I regret buying Mazda and especially from this dealer. I will not go back to this dealer.

What I went through, I wish not on anybody. IPAC Mazda did an oil change and gave us the OK on our Tribute. Three days later it wouldn’t start and we had it tolled in to discover it overheated. The vehicle gave no warning sign and Mazda okayed it with their full circle check, not to mention we purchase an extended. We have been mislead by numerous persons and our vehicle stayed there for 2 months with the same answer. We trying to have the extended IW pick up the charges on good faith. Not to mention this is the second Mazda we had a problem with. They’re a long history from day one with our RX8. If anybody wants to listen, Ill give the horrible service detail and lies. We pick up our vehicle and had to call an officer for instruction. The consequence is they kept our vehicle for 2 months with no phone calls or status what they’re doing. You dont find too many people purchasing 2 vehicles the same day and the RX8 shutting off on us for a 3 years period to finally replacing the engine. The Tribute is left for us to do the repair. All we are asking is for help and to get our point across so nobody has to spend their holidays driving around in an unsafe RX8, which me and my family relied on the Tribute.

Well, guess what? That vibration that they supposedly fixed (with used parts - that I did not authorize) - still rears it head every now and then. I got stuck with the car and they had to change the valve body - on a brand new car that had roughly 3000 miles on it (yes, that is 3 thousand miles) and ever since I have a hard downshift that although the tech tells me he feels, the dealership repair center tells me is normal - this is of course after I returned it because of the hard downshift and the Rep told me that the computer needed to relearn my driving habits. Almost 1000 miles later, it is still doing it.NOW for the new problems. Yesterday I went to shift out of park and the transmission did not shift. 3 times I tried, finally it shifted. This morning I went to start my car via remote and I kept getting a P code on the fob. Book says its because the car was not in PARK. (Um yeah okay - car was parked in the driveway since 6pm the night before... and shut off). Cant wait for the BS they tell me now... Do yourself a favor. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER MAZDA. My brand new 2014 Mazda6 Grand Touring is a very lovable car. Great gas mileage, comfortable seats, smooth ride & drop dead good looks. My issue is with the Bose Audio speakers. Specifically the rear speakers. While traveling with some friends, our friends mentioned that the rear speakers were not working. So I tried to adjust this through the menu on the infotainment system. Even after moving more of the audio to the rear, the sound was barely audible.I had the dealership look into this the next time I went for an oil change. They agreed that the sound level was very low. They said they checked similar Mazda6 vehicles on the lot and found them to be the same. The response was that the minimal sound from the rear was part of the Bose design, or at least that is the official Mazda reasoning. So I sent a letter to Bose and actually got a response, but still no fix. They said their engineers would look into the concern, but I have not heard back.I upgraded (spent more) to the Grand Touring to get the Bose system at significant expense. I am very disappointed with the performance and the sound emanating from the rear of this vehicle. In my opinion, Mazda has tried to reduce the weight of this car in so many areas, that they sacrificed a proper power amplifier to drive the rear speakers. I have had Bose systems before, and found them to be superior to this unit in my 2014 Mazda6. I wish Mazda would fess up and deal with this issue rather than point to Bose intended design as the scapegoat.

My concern is with the rear brakes on my 2013 Mazda CX-5. While getting the service 40,000 km done at 38,909 km at Fredericton Mazda, I was informed by phone that my rear brake pads had worn out to the point where they had destroyed the rotors and I was on the hook for a $459 bill plus extra for the 40,000 km service. Fredericton Mazda assumed that I had skipped my 16,000 km service because I had it done at City Mazda in Halifax at 15318 km. When I brought the car back into Fredericton Mazda at 22752 km to have it serviced they just carried out the 16000 km service again assuming Id neglected my brand new $43500 vehicle. The 24,000 km service includes an inspection of the brake system in the car. When I informed Fredericton Mazda about the service in Halifax, they said theres no way they could have known about it being carried out, which makes sense. However, logically if a qualified service rep/mechanic drove the car in to be serviced, according to the service report he should have logged KM in and KM out. Which leaves me to wonder how the Mazda Service rep got the car into the garage to even carry out the service without noticing the KM on the dash. If the service rep had logged the KM of the car on the way into garage which I might assume to be proper procedure, then the 24,000 service may have actually been carried out and the brakes may have been inspected. All that aside, 38,900 km is far too soon for brake pads to be worn to a point where the rotors are destroyed, considering the fact the front brakes are still at 50% and 10000 of my km are highway to Halifax. When I asked The Fredericton Mazda Service rep if this has happened before he said, Yes, but he also informed that he had seen one at 120,000 km. Fredericton Mazda ended up paying for the rotors that were destroyed in what Ive been referring to as a brake failure, but I was left with a $210 charge for brake pads and labor to replace them. I informed them that this was unacceptable and there is clearly something wrong with the rear brakes but they refused to acknowledge this or even call Mazda Canada to inquire about the issue. To summarize, I have dire concerns with the quality and safety of the braking system in my 2013 CX-5 and if steps arent taken to have this resolved, then I will be switching car companies for good!

I purchased my vehicle 2 years ago and just recently got to 20,00 miles and had to have the rear disc brake pads replaced because they barely passed inspection. I called the customer service number and they said they would gladly replace them free of charge if I went back to the dealer immediately that day to get it done. I then learned that this is a flaw that some of the CX-5s have including the current models. I leased my vehicle so I will be returning it before the 40,000 miles when it will probably need them again. It is expensive to replace them every 20,000 miles when they should last at LEAST 40,000 miles. If I owned this vehicle who would have to keep replacing them when they wear sooner than they should, ME!!! That is an expense I can not afford.I also have an issue that when you open the back hatch there is not enough light to see what you are doing. I like the way the car handles in the snow, which is why I leased it to begin with, to see how well it did. I like the car and would love to buy another when my lease is up but I dont know if I will because of the expense of replacing the discs every 20,000 miles.

Hi - My 2010 CX7 with full Mazda service history and only 57600 miles on the clock, stopped at 60 MPH on a busy dual carriage way with my kids in the car, I could barely steer or brake it was terrifying! Luckily we managed to come to a stop only because it was a quiet time of day on school holidays or god knows what could have happened. I called Mazda to advise them as I thought they would want to know about the issue, total stone wall.I had the car towed to a garage nearby who told me the engine had seized due to it being starved of oil, the car was FULL of oil. They checked and it was a block in the sump. After doing research I realise this is a very common problem with Mazda and I cannot believe they are totally ignoring this issue, not help offered. My car was worth #7.5k now its worth nothing! Where is Mazdas duty of car to customer driving this car, why are they not making sure dealerships are checking this issue to protect people at service, what will it take, someone to be killed! I am just disgusted at their refusal to acknowledge this issue.

I own 2009 RX8 purchased brand new that same year. At the time of this review in Nov. 2012, it has only 16K miles. Problems with car not starting began long before; however, I was attributing it to flooded engine. However at 13K miles, seven months ago, it turned out to be faulty transmission range sensor switch inhibitor (part# **). My wife and I were in the market for a vehicle the summer of 2011. We had a check from our institution in the back pocket so we went searching. Our search starts with the Toyota Venza (new), and the Infiniti Q35 (pre-owned). We visited approximately 5 dealerships the weekend previous to July 4th, 2011 - a lot of test drives, a lot of negotiations which were close, but not as satisfactory. After not moving the needle as much as we had desired, my wife has an idea to check out the dealership of Mazda in Huntington Beach. We look at the Cx7 & Cx9 (new) and after test driving a few, she decides to look into the Cx7 as she was previously unfamiliar with the vehicle. After mulling options over (blank check was good for up to 40k in financing, 4.1 APR) she decides to purchase the Mazda (24,900). We select a model, which has 13 miles on it - and though others (Venza, Infinity) were her chief desire, she believes that the decision was a good, more economical one. We (she) purchases the vehicle July 4th, 2011.One month in, the front driver tire blows out on the 55 freeway in Costa Mesa. The car is driven to the dealer the next day - to have a tire placed on. The price was surely surprise surprise - $250.00. We push to know why the tire was so expensive, its because the size is new for this size vehicle and theres one maker of the tire. Bridgestone. We pay for it begrudgingly, and go about our way.Fast forward to February 6th, 2015, a shade over 3 years, 6 months of owning the vehicle. The vehicle history is good, maintenance is excellent (my wife is a therapist for children with autism so thats why vehicle choice was extremely important - traveling client to client in administering therapy sessions) and without warning, she cannot reverse. She can drive forward, yet is losing power when the automatic attempts to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, so it jumps from first to 3rd.We take the vehicle to Browning Mazda in Cerritos and we are advised that the transmission needs to be replaced (3,200). 3 years 6 months 64,262 miles, excellent maintenance history, & this vehicle needs a NEW transmission? This felt like a terrible joke. The power train warranty? 3y/60k. Expired just over 4,000 miles ago. If theres an engine issue, we usually receive a warning (ie - check engine light flashes on when the oil hits around 3,500) - yet for a failed transmission the vehicle took a dump without warning. We contact Mazda (corporate) & are advised later in the day that they would pay half of the ticketed amount. Thats still egregious as there wouldnt be a vehicle sold if most buyers knew that at such ridiculous low mileage, the transmission would fail them. We retrieve the vehicle and have it looked at for two more opinions and apparently there are no codes indicating the transmission is bad, not to mention the fact the transmission itself is indicating itself being bad simply by the test drive. One transmission mechanic wanted to advise us that Mazda contains many Ford parts, including the transmission and the parts itself. He opens a book, shows a Ford Escape transmission cover (as an example to start) & shows the transmission cover for a Mazda Cx7. Same shape. Same size. Same diameter. The only difference was the material each was made out of. He also advised us that Ford held a controlling stake in Mazda for a very long time and that Mazda in engine make up is similar to many Ford vehicles.Im thankful for such insight as now, my wife, shes back to square one. We will just take it on the chin, pay the dealer, trade it in and get into the vehicle she wanted to originally (Toyota Venza) as it has a powertrain of 7y/100k, and we have another blank check and a few we are willing to pay more of a premium for now as opposed to settling (which appears now, that we did).My advice, if you could help it remain in a Toyota (I drive a Lexus and plan to remain with Toyota) or Honda (my wife bought a Civic new in 2001, drove it to 2011 without issue, netting 170k miles before selling to a UCI college student, then purchasing this Mazda vehicle). If my story helps you even a little bit, I am definitely thankful. This experience feels completely underhanded and we feel hoodwinked.

We bought 2 cars from Mazda Delray Beach. Both cars brand new. Less than 3 miles on each. We bought a 2009 cx9 and later a cx7 2010. Both cars has problems. The cx9 blind spot monitor, air conditioner, window motor, front and rear window motors. The cx 7 problems with the same problems. Windows front cannot close. Front door driver side lock came off. Right front passenger door lock messed up, it cannot be opened. Rear right window cannot go up. My cx9 has 46.000K miles 8 years old and the cx7 just turned 60.000K 7 years old.I was told that it is normal for those repairs to occur. Thats ** ! We have bought cars brand new cars from Nissan, Infiniti, Mitsubishi Motors and we never had any problems with these cars like what we are having with our Mazda cars. Infiniti, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors we drove them to their limit and all we did was oil change and maintenance tire change. Think 4 times before you decide to buy a Mazda.

I have been having problems with the throttle (Mazda Tribute V4) which has been sticking. For over a year now, I have been looking to see if there were any recalls against them. Finally when I looked today, it was only for the V6 engine. When I called them today through corporate and service department, I asked them why not on the V4, and they couldnt give me a correct answer. If its within the year, it should be for all Mazda vehicles. I have been in so many almost accidents with this vehicle and Mazda wants to charge almost $300 for a diagnostic and cleaning the carbon out. That is ridiculous. I am a single parent trying to make ends meet in this poor economy. This is the worst vehicle I have ever bought.

I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6, loaded with their technology package. The GPS was the worst ever experienced. The speaker in the front passenger door vibrated so badly it was hard to use the system, even with the bass turned off. The GPS would indicate a turn 400 yards away when basically at the turn point. It would then suddenly advise to turn, when almost through the intersection. The front drivers seat had limited settings. I went to Mazda for service and all I got was a shoulder shrug. I sent a note to Mazda and didnt even get a response. After 8 months of problems I dumped this car and took a loss of approximately $8,000. I have now owned about 12 cars and the Mazda 6 was the worst experience ever.

I love my car. Living in Michigan, I needed a vehicle that handled well in snow but also with good gas mileage and being able to adjust the drivers seat is very important. After test driving several models, I was extremely impressed with Mazdas handling. I also love how the looks of the car. Its very stylish and its fun to drive. Definitely spend the extra money and get the navigation. I use it all the time. But I wish the rear seats were more comfortable. When test driving cars, I never thought to sit in the back. A word of advice, next time test driving, sit in the back and feel how your passengers are feeling.

I purchased a previously owned 2008 Mazda6 in October 2009. My transmission is failing; diagnosed with severe corrosion, and clutches are slipping. We have a total 86,000 miles on this car. The car was driven by two mature people. Kindly explain the failure of the transmission. If, this is typical for this car at this day and age, we need to let the public know.

Mazda 5 has suspension problems - I have had shocks redone 3 times in 7 years. I am a single woman not carrying passengers all the time!! Others have the same issues - otherwise a good car. Great car all around but they are discontinuing it - maybe because of the suspension problems. Gas mileage is good if you stay below 110. :)

After buying a 2015 Mazda CX-5 pre-owned vehicle I had a drivetrain issue at 60K miles that cost $2800 to repair in October of 2021. Even though the preowned warranty was for 7 years and 100K miles they wouldnt cover the repair costs due to some technicality they cited with the warranty agreement. The original dealership changed ownership twice in the three years, so I brought the car to another dealership for repairs and dealt with Mazda corporate for reimbursement. The dealership that did the repairs agreed it was faulty drivetrain parts, but told me Mazda corporate said it was out of warranty. After repeated attempts to contact the customer experience center both by phone and email, over several months, I could never get past their first line of customer service to make my case to anyone with any authority to review my case. On several occasions they indicated they would get back to me, but never did. I would recommend against buying a new or preowned Mazda. They do not stand behind their product as evidenced by the initial faulty drivetrain and lack of customer support.- Steve

I have a 2000 Mazda B4000 pickup with 69k miles on it. I bought it new and have given it the very best of care. It is in pristine condition and I had planned to drive it for many more years. In the last month I have had two episodes of sudden unintended acceleration: I press the brake and instead of stopping, I accelerate. The first time, I was approaching a red light at about 35 mph. I applied the brake but the truck did not slow. I applied the brake even harder and it slowed a bit but I could tell I wouldnt stop in time. Fortunately the light changed and I went on through. It worried me, but I took it to be a fluke. The second time, I was pulling into a parking space in a strip mall. When I applied the brake, the truck rocketed forward. I slammed on the brake and was able to stop but the RPMs were so high, the drive wheel was still spinning. I flipped it into neutral and turned the key off. Had there been an obstacle, or heaven forbid, a pedestrian in front of me, the results could have been disastrous.I immediately drove it to the mechanic who has serviced it for all these years but could not demonstrate the problem so they could not offer a fix. I called the Mazda dealer and he assured me there are no recalls for this unit. I have searched the Internet and found many descriptions of sudden unintended acceleration, but none for a Mazda B4000. I love this truck and had planned to keep it for years to come. Now I am afraid to drive it. Any suggestions?

Mazda CX5 2015 is A PIECE of crap. I bought this car from Browning Mazda two months ago. It is about 6000 mileage. I always have long distances travel. Two days ago, this car suddenly cant be reversed in the freeway. It kept going straight. Later on it became normal again. I drove very slowly to Browning Mazda to have examination on my car. They checked it. They told me everything is fine. They couldnt find any code related to my problem. I trusted them. I took my car back. But during my last trip, same problem happened again in the freeway. I almost lost my life. So, called Mazda to toll my car back to them. They only paid for 18 miles. I paid 208 dollars to tolling company. It has been three days. They still kept my car. They said they need to have engineer to come to check my car. I dont have a car to use for three days already. They dont offer any solution. Pieces of **. Please dont risk your life to buy Mazda car. There are a lot of bad reviews for this brand.

Love my SUV Mazda CX7. Its so comfortable. Have much space for family members and its a good vehicle to travel and have a big back space for stuff, groceries, shopping items. The interiors are very durable material and easy to clean. And easy repair and to drive so safely and secured part. I recommended so much for all type of family. Its very pretty design so I would like to buy a new one next year. But I would like maybe a more bigger back in a new model but at all its fine other parts. Quality and strong parts. All the model is ok.

I send my Mazda Soho in to Mazda to look if they can find the problem that my car has. It’s cutting out if I brake. They place it in the box. I get my car back and still it cut out. I took it back and they said something in the engine. I get my car back and still it cut out and it starts smoking. So I took it back for the 3rd time and this time, it was at Mazda for a week and still they don’t find the problem. Now, I must go and pay for somebody else to look at this problem. I’m not happy.
