I leased 2 vehicles from Volkswagen and then was forced to buy one as the first two sales agents let me get $9000 “upside down” in equity without telling me. The last car on the lot was a demo and the only one they said I could have. It has had electronic problems since day 1. Windshield wipers turn on by themselves. Bluetooth and radio audio are sporadic at best. It’s a lemon that was left on the lot as a demo and they saw a way to dump it on a Customer who had been screwed on their lease agreement.

On November 18, 2018, I’ve purchased a new 2018 VW Golf R. This car is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake System (EPB) and an Auto Hold system which self engages the EPB when you torn off the engine. On January 23, 2019, I’ve parked the car on the driveway in front of my house. The EPB has self engaged as usual. The yellow indicator light on the EPB lever went on, as well as the red PARK indicator on the instrument cluster display. I’ve got out of the car but didn’t lock it since I was planning to return in two minutes. While I was walking up the stairs towards my house, my wife just left the house and was walking towards me. Suddenly she yelled: the car! I turned around and saw my brand-new VW moving forward, and crashing into the fence. As a loyal customer of VW (this is my third one!) I thought that they will take responsibility and cover the cost of the repair which is almost $1,000, but apparently, VW doesn’t care about their customers at all. After many phone calls and email correspondence with the dealership and VW of America, I was told that since they couldn’t find any evidence for a manufacture shortcoming then this is on me. I don’t know what kind of evidence exactly they were looking for, I just know for a fact that the car was on Park and then it rolled over and crashed into the fence. So now I’m stuck with a slightly damaged car which has a serious safety issue, and VW isn’t willing to take responsibility. Needless to say that this is the last time I buy this brand. For shame VW, for shame. A quick google search brought up that this isn’t the first time that VW vehicles have such a problem with the EPB. Please take a look at the following links: **. One guy even broke his ribs because of an EPB failure. Does a terrible accident with casualties must occur for VW to take responsibility and do something about this?

On March 16, 2012, my daughter purchased a 2009 VW Tigua from Herman Cook, VW, Inc., 1435 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024. Since then, the vehicle has had numerous problems, and has cost her thousands of dollars in repairs at VW dealerships in Southern California. She has followed due diligence in having the car serviced, but has continued to have costly repairs. Listed below are the issues.June 27, 2012, only three months after purchasing vehicle, paid $290.95 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: front headlamp, engine oil service, balance 4 wheels, brake fluid replace and bleed. August 29, 2012, paid $237.30 at Volkswagen Santa Monica (Invoice **) for: removed and replaced driver side HID light bulb. June 7, 2013 paid $50 (deductible) at McKenna Volkswagen for: right headlight (Invoice **). April 22, 2014, paid $382.65 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice (**) for : bulb (N-103-201-02), perform campaign # **. Recall Fuse (Plug-in position F 16), 40,000 mile service (non-turbo). November 21, 2014, paid $241.71 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for : 013 campaign/recall 4515 CV burned out turning light bulb N-103-201-02 bulb, and 50,000 mile service.September 5, 2015, paid $3,075.52 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for Perform Intake valves De-Carb, 03511 optimizer 2 Pack, flush AC system and replace AC compressor, condenser and expansion valve, recharge AC system, replace wiper blades, replace rear brake pads, replace right brake lights, cornering lights, and bumper marker bulb (3 total bulbs replaced for this invoice). Invoice states EST: 1,069 31AUG15 13:34 SA: 1692). I believe there are major issues with design of engine that caused sludge to build up in engine at low mileage, and also poor AC design that caused compressor to come apart and cause tiny metal particles to infect the entire AC system that resulted in over $1,600 of AC repair.June 3, 2016, paid $2,465.90 at McKenna Volkswagen (Invoice **) for replaced left outside brake light, replace leaking water pump and coolant, perform complete coolant system flush exchange, replaced leaking valve cover, vacuum pump gasket, upper timing cover and CAM sensor seal, replaced front brake pads, replaced 2 tires and balance new tires, front end align, perform oil change and filter.Today, August 13, 2016, as I was preparing this communication, my daughter texted me to say that the cars message system is now telling her that now something is wrong with the parking brake, and that another light needs to be fixed. This never ends, and the car is a lemon that has numerous faulty issues. Therefore, in four years of purchasing this used previously owned vehicle from a Volkswagen dealer, the lemon car has cost an additional $6,744.03. My daughter has been very diligent about taking the car in for routine service, but the additional costs are totally unacceptable and she, as a part-time working single mother with a 3-year old child, cannot continue to afford what I consider design flaw costs for the 2009 Volkswagen Tigua.

My car has completely fallen apart. I purchased it preowned and the speedometer read at 53000. A month after purchase the car has been in the shop nonstop. I even had to let the car sit for over a year. My challenges with the car have included the heating and air system going out, the car hesitating as I drove it, the dashboard computer went completely out, the radio stopped working, Ive had the car towed numerous times for several reasons and now the car will not turn on at all. I cannot get the car to work. I still owe a note on the car and it will not work. This is beyond frustrating, its also very expensive. I need immediate resolution.

On June 26, 2015 I contacted VW customer care because the third window in my 2009 VW beetle convertible had a window regulator go out. My complaint number was **. My car had 30,427 miles on it at the time. I complained to them about my window regulators failing on the front and back drivers side and now the back passenger window. I had already fixed the front drivers side and was quoted around $1100 to fix the back window (which I could not afford), now the passenger window went out. On 7/1/15 they replied back that there was nothing they could do because my vehicle was outside the original 3-yr/36,000 mile warranty but they thanked me for contacting them. Well yesterday my front passenger window went out. Help Me!!!

I purchased my 2009 Volkswagen cc at 72000 miles on November 2014. The same day I drove home I had a CEL turn on and off, I took it back, and the dealer changed 1 coil wire that was about to go bad. Thanks. Soon after (month later), my fuel pump and fuel pump module went out. I called and they said, No warranty. I went and purchased, 650 dollars with installation at brother in laws shop. Cheaper than dealer by $500. Then at 112000 miles my transmission went out. No warranty of course. That was 5k to replace and install. This was in March 2016. In April my fuel injector was misfiring. Replaced all injectors. Then in March 2017 my throttle body went out. No help all this time from VW group of America. Worthless to be honest. Now in October 2017 my fan went unbalanced. No more VW for me EVER!!!

2011 Golf GTI with 110,000 miles. Entire intake replaced at 96,000 miles. Known issue with VW. Customer care refused to help. Now, at 110,000 miles, the hydraulic timing chain tensioner slipped causing the need to completely replace the engine for approx. $5,500. VW customer care, again did nothing. Just a heads-up to anyone interested in a Volkswagen group product, these engines are in many vehicles and have major issues.

I traded my car, which was leased with VW Credit. The dealer I traded the car with sent two cashier checks to pay off the car. VW Credit sent the dealer the title to the car I traded in and the car was sold. VW Credit now claims I owe them $14k+ because one of the cashier checks wasnt signed. Mind you, they never called me nor did they call the dealer. I called them because they owe me $2,400 that I overpaid. They refuse to refund my money and continue to claim that I owe them. Every time I call, I am left on hold for 30+ minutes while the person tries to figure out what is going on. They continue to promise to return my calls and never do. This corporation is very irresponsible and unprofessional. No one knows what they are doing. Do not do business with these people. I am likely going to take legal action.

Bought a 2013 2.5 SE as a left over in 2014. Since then I have had the window master switch replaced, the front passenger window switch, the Bluetooth module, shifter and ignition replaced all due to failures and malfunctions. The one item was the AC where during summer temps the vent temperature fluctuated from 40 to 70 degrees, the AC would shut off humid air blow out for 10 minutes and then it would kick back on. I have brought my vehicle in many times for this issue at every 10k factory service and many times in between. The incompetent techs look for malfunction codes, check the charge level and run the car in the SHOP and say, Oh its cold...At the 40k mark outside of the B2B warranty they found the issue and told me a simple exact and recharge would fix it. Now if the charge level was fine at every AC service why would it be found now? That wasnt the case, the issue still remains. I got VWOA involved. They said nothing can be done other than having them look at it again (likely same results) where I may be liable for loaner expenses. I am never buying a VW for myself or recommending a VW to anyone again.

I just bought my car (used) five months ago with +_ 52,000 miles on it. Great carfax, nothing wrong with the car. A little over a week ago, the timing chain slipped and destroyed the engine, causing thousands of dollars in repairs. I have contacted everyone I can think of for assistance with this issue; considering the car only has a little over 61,000 miles on it now. Volkswagen has offered no help with the problem whatsoever. Considering this is a defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle, I would think they would offer some assistance considering the amount of trouble they are in now with the TDI trouble they are in. I have owned three cars previously and never had such a horrible experience with them. I went with Volkswagen because I was under the impression they were a reliable and dependable car. They are far from that. Because of this issue, I now have a car loan for the next 5 years and no car to show for it. I have researched this issue and its not just me with the problem. Many other people have had the same issue before 100,000 miles on their VW as well. If you are considering this brand, DONT! They are of no help and have so many loopholes in their warranty so when something catastrophic happens, you wont be covered. There are so many other car brands out there. Go with someone else. VW is a HUGE disappointment in customer service and reliability. Hopefully, with the current lawsuit they have against them, they will go out of business so no one else has this problem.

My husband and me have been the proud owners of three new Volkswagen cars. We have always had our cars maintained only by the Donaldson Volkswagen dealership in Sayville, NY. Ever since I have owned my 2004 VW Beetle, I have noticed that the ignition cylinder lock. I verbally mentioned this several times to the Donaldsons Technicians and was told VW Beetle had been made this way and I was informed to wiggle the steering wheel and place my foot on the brake. I never check out this information given to me by the technicians. My beetle is now over 88,000 miles and without an extensive warranty. On 7/18/16 my car broke down and locked. My car had to be towed to the Donaldson dealership. I explained to technician this was an on going problems throughout the years that I owned the VW Beetle. I had to fix the car. The Donaldson Technician wrote: Found steering column locked. Mechanically faulty causing damage to ignition lock cylinder, removed and replaced ignition lock cylinder, removed and replaced steering column lock. This cost was $532.30 to repair. I asked the technician again if anything could be done with the cost of the repairs since this was an ongoing problem with the ignition lock cylinder. Technician replied, no, your warranty has expired and the car is over 88,000 miles. The technician gave me the VW Cares telephone number but I received the same comment from Improvement Customer Service person Martin ** as well as their team leader MaryJo ** who made the final decision. Both of them would not give me their last names. I learned two lessons from this experience. 1) I am not a value customer at VW Donaldson. 2) Check out an on going problem with your car and find out if this problem is ongoing with other VW 2004 Beetles. My husband and me were going to purchase two more VW cars but we learned our lesson from this experience.

I purchased a brand-new model of 2016 VW Golf GTI last year. I havent driven it much, which only has less than 4000 miles on it now. Recently, I had a flat tire due to the poor quality of Hankook tire (made in Korea) used by VW manufacturer. My flat tire happened when I was driving on a freeway (in very good condition) when the passenger side front tire suddenly burst a hole in its sidewall with no road hazard present. I called VW local dealership but was told to contact Hankook (the tire maker) directly by myself.Hankook did not follow the companys established procedure for handling tire warranty, but rushed to an arbitrary judgement on tire damage in its own favor, insisting on saying it was caused by road hazard. It never allowed the local VW dealership to fill out a tire warranty coverage claim form on my behalf. I paid $200+ out of my own pocket for tire replacement. I deeply regret that VW chose Hankook over other better tire brands. Hankook tires poor quality makes VW vehicles prone to road accidents. It also makes VW look cheap. For these reasons, I would strongly advise fellow motorists not to consider VW Golf GTI among their purchasing options.

Occasionally when I take off from a stop and have to suddenly stop or back off the gas and then try to go, the car seems to lag or is suspended between gears (1st & 2nd). Its a lag of about 3 to 4 seconds. The car wont do anything, like its trying to decide what gear to be in. Can be a problem if in the middle of an intersection with traffic coming at you and the car just sits. Ive had my 2013 Tiguan for 3 years now (3 months out of warranty). I love the way it looks and drives. However, even though Ive kept up with VWs recommended service, I just paid $2500 for repairs that shouldnt be happening on a car with 45k miles (a new alternator, timing case cover gaskets, control arms replaced, carbon cleaning). Just two months ago, the fuel door wouldnt open. The dealer sanded it down, calling it a manufacturing flaw (which I still dont get since it worked for a bit over 3 years). What Im getting at is that this VW is needing way too many costly repairs for a 3 year old car. I was expecting to have this car for well over 100k miles in great condition but Im not sure its going to work out that way. They sold me on the idea of German engineering being so good, lol. Purchased the 2019 Passat R-Line edition on 3/2/19 and really like the styling, but that is where it ends. Three days after purchasing the vehicle, the remote start stopped working. There is a software flaw where the remote timer doesnt reset after starting the car, so once youve reached an overall total of twenty minutes the remote start never works again, as it is awaiting on an “input signal” that the car has been started non-remotely. AutoNation said it is Volkswagens problem and VW Customer Care said they know about the problem but they do not have a fix for it and that its basically my problem because it does not meet the guidelines for lemon law or VW’s policy to take the vehicle back. They said they are not pulling these vehicles from the lots because it is not a safety or mechanical issue but the dealerships are not disclosing this information either. VW Customer Care offered me $100 gift card and said they do not know when a fix will be released. Buy something else, and steer clear of VW. What good is a 7 year warranty, if they are selling cars that cant be fixed?

On Monday, April 16, 2018, I had the unfortunate mishap of my car stalling out while I was on my way to lunch. We had to have the car towed to a mechanic where it was determined that my 2012 VW CC with roughly 86,000 miles suffered from what is being called a ‘Catastrophic Engine Failure’. I was told by the mechanic this was not our fault and the car shows no signs of neglect. My mechanic has given me a quote to replace the engine, with a used engine that has approximately 70,000 miles on it, at a cost of $9,849.57. If I was to replace the engine who’s to say that this problem wouldn’t happen again. After hearing this news I started to do some research. I have come across several articles and claims that there are issues with the Timing Chain Tensioner on various vehicles; which, include the year, make, and model of mine. It seems Volkswagen is aware of this issue but refuses to do anything about it. I have contacted Volkswagen twice already and have not gotten any help.I now have a car that I am still paying for (car note and insurance) that I cannot drive. I really hope that Volkswagen will take this issue seriously as this could have happened to me the day before as I was traveling home on a busy highway from out of town. I have always like the Volkswagen name and their vehicles but the way things are being handled by them I am beyond frustrated!

My Jetta just had its engine blow up essentially. There is a manufacturer defect and these should have been recalled. I was driving when the engine decided to just stop working. I could have killed someone. There is a class action lawsuit for this exact issue. When trying to get this issue resolved and get a portion covered to replace the motor, we were given the run around. We have been told that it would be 10k for a new motor. The consumer “advocate” says there is nothing they can do about it and refuses to escalate this to another individual above her pay grade. VW has poor customer service, questionable business model and just overall poor business practices. I will NEVER purchase another VW and I caution others in the purchasing of one. Nothing but problems with the Tiguan. This car is a mechanical nightmare. 68,000 miles and the car is in need of such major repairs that far exceed the quickly plummeting value of $7000. Volkswagen of North America has offered NO recourse for this shameful product, and the experience has definitely hurt my overall finances in a way that has been beyond detrimental to this consumer and small business owner. Volkswagen should be avoided at all costs, unless you are one of these folks getting a new car every two years. I was looking for a car for 15-20 years, but I guess they dont build those anymore? Here is a list of what is wrong: All 4 coils replaced TWICE with VW OEM coils from dealership, still misfiring/pulling codes, Extensive carbon buildup in all the cylinders, 1st cylinder lost compression, Clockspring mechanism replaced under service warranty extension, EPC malfunctioning, Steering Control malfunctioning, Parking Brake malfunctioning, System running lean without a fix offered from manufacturer, Transmission timing not correct, told by Jim Ellis VW that it would require NEW TRANSMISSION at 62,000 miles (right outside of warranty) at a cost of $6000, Fuel pump replaced TWICE, Almost every light on the dash has lit up at some point.I purchased this car with 30,000 miles in April of 2017. I put $3000 down. There is NO reason a car should have this many issues in such a short window of time, for a young car, and the manufacture REFUSES to stand by their product or offer any reasonable assistance or buyback, as they did with my 2013 Jetta TDI Sportwagen. To compare, I drove my last vehicle for almost 20 years, with no devastatingly major repairs outside of normal maintenance. This used to be the norm for most manufacturers. The dealerships I have been to for service (Jim Ellis VW of Kennesaw, and Nalley VW of Alpharetta) have acted highly shady and outright dishonest multiple times in my attempts to rectify the problems, leading me to believe this a typical symptom of a broken VW culture within the separate organizations. BR Automotive Repair in Alpharetta is an amazingly honest and intelligent repair shop, and got the car drivable enough to trade it in, and advised me to RUN to trade it ASAP. I hate to even put this nightmare on another unwitting consumer, but I have to try to reduce my already considerable losses on this JUNK CAR. BUYER BEWARE!!!

They sold a faulty truck. Wow. Where do I begin? Ok let me start by saying my husband and I bought from a Volkswagen dealer because of the Volkswagen good representation of being honest and of quality. Well in our situation that wasnt the case. The dealer we bought from sold us a 25k used truck with a faulty engine. Unfortunately we bought from Texas so there is no lemon law. I will never deal or recommend Volkswagen ever again. It seems like they dont care about the products they sell just the money they make.

I drive a GTI and have had the intake manifold fail three times in a row. Despite servicing the car according to plan, using official Volkswagen parts and mechanics, the customer care refuses to assist with a part that is obviously flawed. I have had to replace this intake manifold, a part that costs more than $1000, repeatedly, and have had no solution offered, and no offer to repair that vehicle. This part has failed after 20,000 miles each time. Obviously an issue with the engine and substandard parts used, still no help from customer service. I will not buy Volkswagen again and certainly not recommend them to others.

Receiving my final invoice from VW credit for 4,888. This was a lease return that I thought was factored into the deal. Guess what, it was not. I am writing this as I just received my final invoice coming off a lease. Well guess what, I owe 4,888 dollars. This was back from May of 2018. At the time I gave Lakeland VW 5 stars. Matter of fact went and purchased 2 more VW as I was so happy. Well stupid me I should have asked more questions before signing any paperwork. Of course they took my trade/lease and gave me 1,000 dollars to make up for the remaining 6 lease payments. At the time this seemed weird but they told me not to worry about it, You will get your final invoice showing the remaining lease payments, take the money we send you and pay your final invoice from VW credit. What they didnt tell me is that you will also have to pay for high mileage, dents, dings and any excessive wear and tear. Well this just cost me an additional 3,888 dollars. Stupid me (because I have never leased). All they did was take and send it back to VW credit. I thought this was being treated as a normal trade in and any excessive wear and tear was factored into the deal. NOPE just the opposite. One would think they would have fully disclosed this prior to me signing the deal. Had I would have known I would have just kept the car until the lease ran out and just purchased it out right, which I had planned to do anyways. I have spoke to VW Corp and VW credit and of course there is nothing that can do, this lies with the dealership. I am warning you, if your coming off a lease be very careful and ask 1,000 of questions before signing your name. 7 months later you will get the same invoice as I did. Cost me an additional 3,888 bucks. Stupid me, go somewhere else that will have full disclosure since this is not your day job and youre trusting others with your money or at least trusting others to fully disclose your huge purchase. I would like the dealership to honor paying the additional 3,600 dollars that should have been factored into the deal.

Let me start by saying that this is the second VW Ive own. I just found out that my car has been affected by the Takata airbag recall for over a year and I was not notified about the problem and has been driving an unsafe vehicle this whole time. There is obviously no fix for yet and who knows when/if they will ever repair the problem. Ive been trying to sell this vehicle as I purchased a new car a few months ago and as you can imagine no one will buy this VW because of the recall. As a single mother I simply cant afford making 2 car payments, insurances etc. so I requested that VW buys the car from me. To my surprise they said they couldnt help me!! So now Im stuck with a vehicle that I cant afford and no one will buy including VW!! Im truly disgusted by the whole experience and the company. This isnt my first VW but will sure be my last one.

In 2014 I had to get my transmission replace, my headlights goes out every 3 mos, my coils constantly has been replace, I tried trading my car but no one wants to give me a good trade-in value so thats upside down, Im now dealing with a lemon law lawyer and hope I can get a full buyback. Volkswagen cc - I had started a 3 year lease in 2010. I did everything I was told to do and the car was serviced in a diligent and timely manner. Midway through the lease while driving with my 2 young kids the car stalled and would not restart. It was a horrible experience. The diagnosis was carbon emissions in the fuel exhaust mechanism or something like that. Ive since lost the records but Im sure VW has them as I submitted everything. They denied any responsibility and I incurred over 1200$ worth of damage and repairs. They stated that it was a part of normal service. This always smelled bad to me and I finally decided to throw my hat into the ring today only to find out that the cc is not covered. Needless to say Im very disappointed. This all still smells bad to me.

I have owned over my lifetime no fewer than five Volkswagen/Audi automobiles: my first, a 1960 VW Beetle; a 1999 Cabrio; a 2003 Jetta; a 2003 Audi A3; and most recently, my last, a 2008 convertible bug I bought in the aftermarket as a first vehicle for my youngest child. Routinely, but most unfortunately, a headlight went out on the car. My daughter dutifully and naively went to an automotive parts store and purchased a replacement bulb, at my instruction. With replacement bulb in hand, my husband examined the cars headlight assembly and swiftly threw his hands up in the air, as did two local service mechanics. Thus, I was forced to send her to our local dealership in West Nyack, NY - Palisades Volkswagen, where I was charged for Volkswagens inane engineering the staggering sum of... wait for it... drum roll please... ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS AND SIXTY EIGHT CENTS ($164.68)!!! You heard right. How on earth can Volkswagen expect its loyal consumer to happily absorb the cost of what is obviously a serious design flaw and expect that customer to ever purchase one of their poorly designed cars ever again? Frankly, Im insulted and angry. The loyal VW consumer should not be penalized for the companys flawed design. Shame on you.

We bought a new car VW Touran from April 2017 and unfortunately car dealer delivered a worse car that I ever received in my life as the following issues: - Adblue tanker was leaking in 2 months delivery. - A problem was warned and technician of VW could not detect the problem. We left our car to check the problems in few days at VW repaired center - Chaussee Ninove with nearly 100 km of our own gasoline fee. The problem was found by ourselves in a foreign country - our car was flooded due to a problem of the joint while we were in the car under heavy rain in Prague. - The light was out of order. After leaving our car for reparation, we got our car back with a new joint replaced, but horrible odor was occurred due to humidity. We came back to request a solution for odor treatment and repair the light as well. No accessory was available. It needs to be ordered and we will be contacted once accessory arrived shortly. One month later, we passed by to check if the light can be fixed and was told the accessory was not arrived because they forgot to order.- We face a new problem today with the battery. I had to call VW assistance to restart the engine with a ref under number **. The technician passed by to fix the problem and advised to replace a new battery as it happened twice recently. We feel disappointed to sell our ancient Audi to them and bought a new car with full options from VW. Honestly saying, service after sale was not good. Agent was not happy to request to fix the problems and unfriendly attitude at Robert Carrosserie - Chaussee Ninove 1070, Anderlecht. It could be the last time and ever to buy such a bad quality.

We purchased a new Volkswagen CC R-line in 2012. We followed the recommended service for it, which said 10,000 miles, or once a year. Each year they have rotated the tires and recommended alignment, at extra cost, which we did. Several weeks ago we took the car in for its third service with just over 30,000 miles, and they told us we needed new tires due to excessive cupping of the tires. We never expected to have to replace tires at 30,000 miles and asked the service manager, and technician why this occurred. They said it was obviously out of alignment and thats why it happened. Now, after reading numerous complaints about this issue online about this very same car and people being quoted as being told by some VW service people that the car actually needs alignment every 3,000 miles and more frequent tire rotation, maybe every 3,000 to 5,00 miles, we are wondering why VW is not getting this message out to consumers of this product. It could be a safety issue, when they are not telling us that the cupping occurs, and the tires are worn, especially as you are riding on a low profile tire to begin with. We replaced the tires with Continentals after they presented us with 3 tire options. They specifically told us All 3 choices are good tires. One week after the tire replacements, we were riding down a street near home and the tire light came on for the front passenger side tire, and the pressure began steadily going down. Luckily we were very close to home, and after pulling in the driveway, we could hear the air escaping the tire, flattening it completely within an hour. So we are calling VW tomorrow. No damage occurred to this tire, its brand new, and we wonder whats going on.It cost us over $1000 for these new tires. The car only had 30,000 miles on it!!! After looking at all the brand new tires, we are noticing they have all started turning a dark gray color in large areas of the rubber, in the week that we have had them. We plan on getting the car back to Volkswagen as soon as possible, but were unable to put the spare on, since apparently they forgot to replace the tools in our trunk which are necessary to change the tire to the spare, when they recently replaced the tires. We know no damage occurred to this car. Now we are reading about problems with Continental tires online as well. So why did they recommend the continental tires to us? So WV has not been forthcoming with info on this car to us or many other consumers, relating to cupped tire issues which may be avoided with a different maintenance protocol for the original tires (more frequent rotations, and alignment twice a year??) and then they recommend replacing them with perhaps a suspect tire? AND, after recommending replacing, they didnt tell us that the issue could have been avoided, because they want to stick to the illusion they have created to customers that these cars are good to go, once a year service, and you are done!! They totally acted like we were the only customer who had had this problem. Well, consumer sites on the internet tell the story, and its not a new one. VW needs to step up and start telling people the defect that exists with the RR C-line, and that it affects EVERYONE!

I have taken my 2008 VW Jetta 2.0T to the dealer 4 or 5 times due to a hard-starting issue when the engine is cold. I spoke with a VW tech and told him what was happening and he said, Yes, that’s a bad fuel pump. I asked if he can please repair it now and he replied, Unless the computer on the car tells us what’s wrong, we cant do anything. A few weeks later, a service advisor called me from David Maus VW and told me that they had another VW Jetta with a 2.0T engine that had the same issues and they replaced the fuel pump and that fixed the problem. I asked why VW won’t replace the fuel pump in my car. He said, If we cant reproduce it, we cant fix it. I still have warranty and VW is giving me issues. To top this all off, VW says the seal around my headlight is bad and is allowing moisture in the headlight. They said that would cost me $589.15 to do that repair for the headlight. I asked why it would cost me anything when the car is still under warranty. His reply, VW doesn’t cover seals under warranty.

Volkswagen Taiguan 2016 with push button start will drain the battery to zero by itself. I turned off the car by pushing the button and left the car parked in the daylight. At night the car automatically turned on the headlights and drained the battery. I was stranded the next morning and had to call roadside assist. This is the most stupid thing on the car. With only 175 miles I had to call assistance because the car turned on its own lights while parked. The tow truck driver said I was the fifth Taiguan he had jump started because of this problem. VW needs to correct this. If the driver touches the kill button twice, or bumps it while getting out of the car the ignition will go on after the engine is shut off and will eventually turn the lights on leaving you stranded. I am so unhappy with the service and the cars Ive been driving. It is one problem after the other. My problem is you guys keep on fixing how many times must a new car be fixed. I changed my previous Polo for the new Polo because of the problems it gave me and the constant fixing. The new Polo is a bigger piece of rubbish with endless issues. Can you just take your car please. Im not interested in any more fixing. I had enough. This is what Ive been experiencing: wind sound problem, the brakes noise, the 2 seat belt campaigns, the handbrake campaign, an Issue with the handbrake, I had an issue with the tyre alert thing as well. It said that the left rear was low but the right rear had a puncture, And now to top it all off its raining in at the sun visor. I was soaking wet yesterday by the time I got home from work. Please understand I do not need these kind of problems from something I pay EVERY month. I bought the car from VW at Edenvale.

My vehicle broke down in Florida on a vacation there. I was given roadside assistance as part of their goodwill to the owners that were lied to about the diesel vehicles. The actual dealership that caused the problem covered the cost of the repair but I was told I would be able to go thru roadside assistance trip interruption to get back cost of hotel, gas, food etc. that was incurred because of this. Now after submitting all my receipts that I was told to do I am now denied that because its not a repair that is covered under the new vehicle warranty - that it was the fault of a dealership so they are saying Im out of luck. Let me first say that I love my 2013 Beetle turbo. It is great in all the aspects except one, in my mind, MAJOR design flaw. I have addressed this issue several times at the dealership, but no help was available. It relates to the keyless start. In general I dont see the benefit of this feature. Is it really that hard to use the key to start your car? I didnt think so. Anyway, if you turn on your Beetle, say to cool it off in the summer time before driving to the beach and wait for the A/C to cool down indoors, there is a chance that you may have the key in your hand. And while the car is cooling down, you just may unknowingly hang the key on the hook in your house. You then take the beach towels and a cooler, lock your house and sit in your comfortably cooled beetle and head for the beach. You drive 80 miles and you figure out that you need to buy gas. You shut off your Beetle, pump the gas, pay for it, sit back at the wheel, press the start button. KEY NOT IN RANGE!!!!!!! This is a true story, and I know other people that this has happened to (maybe they were not 80 miles away from the key hanging on the hook at home, but you get the picture). I will never understand how they made such an oversight. And why are they not recalling the cars to fix them? If you have a Beetle with the start button, beware of this. It can be dangerous.

In late 2008 my wife bought a 2004 Passat with a 1.8 turbo. All was good until about 70,000 miles then it all started to go bad. She had purchased the extended warranty so at first I was not worried and was under a false impression that the top end warranty package we paid dearly for will cover any issues we have with the masterpiece of German engineering. It started with the axles making a clicking noise when you were making a turn which being somewhat mechanically inclined I realized it would be the CV joints failing.I had my wife drop the car off at the dealer, well two and a half days later they call and let her know that due to the fact that the axle boots were torn and they where a wearable part that were not serviced regularly and it would not be covered under warranty. (So apparently you are supposed to pull axles every so often to change boots?) She inquired on the cost of replacement to be told it would cost $1100.00. I told her to call and tell them to do nothing and we will pick up the car. I was able to purchase the axles for $52.00 each and replace them in about 1 1/2 hours. So I ask, Where is $1100.00 justified? And how many people have been screwed by their VW service center? Problem 2 we had was the power windows, The driver side front and rear. Not at the same time but both had issues, The rear had a pin fall out which attached the window to the frame of the power mechanism. The front had plastic clips that broke which caused the window to fall into the door and at a later date the window motor failed. During this trip to the shop I inquired about the ignition coil recall, To my surprise they covered it all under warranty. Problem 3 was a temp sensor which caused the engine light to come on which once again to my surprise they covered under the warranty.Problem 4 was the engine oil pressure warning light and as you have read or will read in other complaints on this page due to the fact it is a used car with no paper work on servicing prior to my owning it I to am out of luck. Not to mention it took 3 days for them to get back to us. I myself use nothing but synthetic oil in all my vehicles and maintain them regularly. I was told by the dealer that the car has engine sludge and it would cost between $1500 and $7000 to make repairs. So once again I told my wife to not let them do anything to the car and have it towed to my in-laws house where he has a car lift in his shop.We pulled the suspension loose and back to access the oil pan and then pulled the pan. The pan and lower half of the motor was spotless except for what appeared to be a mixture of gasket and sealant particles built up around the oil pick up tube. That leads me to believe that the story of oil sludge is a crock of crap they came up with to cover their own ** due to faulty workmanship. We cleaned the pan and pulled the valve cover to check the top end and the results where the same, SPOTLESS, Imagine that. So anyone who is told they have sludge you should question the truth of that statement.Problem 5 was the instrument panel information center fading out on hot days to the point where you could not see any information displayed. At that time the driver side mirror glass had also fell out while driving on the freeway. I was so furious with the VW dealer that I did not want take it to them to see if they would deny repairs. My wife took it in and to my surprise once again they actually covered it. Oh, not the mirror it was not covered. Problem 6 as the mileage limit of 80,000 approached the check engine light came on again so I had my wife take it in. From this trip we received no explanation to why the light came on and where told it would be reset. However we did receive a list of items from their million point inspection or whatever they call it which totaled over $4000.00 and that the warranty would cover about a $1000.00 of it if we decided to have the work done. I requested an email of work to be done which was sent to me about a day after I requested it. Now for the problem with the quote, I apparently needed a new battery which would be ok but I had replaced it no more than 2 weeks prior to taking it in. The report stated I needed to have 2 of the coils replaced even though they had supposedly replaced them during a previous trip. What am I supposed to think about the rest of the list after reading about things that were recently replaced, Anyways the list went on and on more than I would like to explain. As of now the car is sitting in the driveway with a serious misfire and the code I pulled out of it was PO300. This is a random misfire code which does not give a fix for the problem it just gives a list of possible necessary repairs. If I will have to make all repairs on this list it could cost $1300,00 to $1800.00 which I will have to do, Due to the mileage expiration of the warranty. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A VW OF ANY KIND POST 1970. YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY!!!

I have a 2009 EOS - never again. While I like the car, especially the convertible top and driving experience, it has been multiple mechanical failures, some covered under recalls, others out of my pocket. I have had the injectors and ABS module replaced under recalls, and paid $2200 for a rear main seal (part $25 - the rest labor) caused by the engine oil pump malfunctioning and blowing the seal. When I got the car back after the ABS recall, it went into limp mode (stuck in second gear) and I returned to the dealership. Code on transmission says it has faulted 36 times - no dates - but this was the first indication it had a problem - no check engine light ever.Volkswagen says Sorry - out of warranty with no recognition of 36 previous faults, nor that problem appeared after testing for the recall on ABS module. Coincidence? They claim no. Right. Dealer tells me replacement is $5k-$6k, which is KBB value on sale to private party. Done with VW - working my way out of the two I have now. Know this: If the company hasnt been forced to do a recall on a problem, they will expect owner to pay. Doesnt seem like much has changed ever since US buyers have been lied to about the diesel fiasco.

The worst of all is the lack of communication. Not a single person in the dealership knows when their vehicle part will arrive and nobody is letting us know whats going on. If you ask for a date and time, the person will react by saying they dont want to pin on a direct date because they dont want to be held responsible. I live in Oregon and its Nov 2014 and my Beetle has been leaking inside the cabin behind the drivers seat for over a month. I took it to the Herzog-Meier VW dealer shop and paid $581 for the repair. They said it was the seal of the 3rd break light that was broken. After the repair I paid for inside car detail to get rid of the mildew. Now 3 weeks later I have a pond behind the seat again. Have I been tricked? I Googled for VW beetle water leak and I find all sort of engineering problems with sunroof and windshield drains related to this vehicle and I recall. Who owns informing consumers? Isnt the dealer supposed to know? The mildew is getting me sick and I rely on this vehicle.

The deception/lie that Volkswagen did on the diesel cars will affect you as a regular fuel Volkswagen car owner when it comes to trading in your car for something other than the bad reputation VW now. Be prepared to be ** when you get your trade in value as the dealerships are going to give you “Auction” since no one trusts VW anymore. They are concerned that if they were deceitful with the diesel, what’s to stop VW from making false claims about the gas VW’s. I have a 2015 VW Passat Limited, in excellent condition, financed for 4 yrs at 0% financing and my trade is worth $7,500 at “Auction” per the other than VW dealerships (Dec 23, 2016), I have NEVER been upside down on trading in a vehicle before, and note, this isn’t upside down, this is **, over $7k upside down. And NO, I don’t want another VW!! One very upset VW owner that has a worthless vehicle now due to their false claims on the diesel.

When purchasing a VW product be aware of the total cost of ownership. Many VW parts are proprietary and the Company charges accordingly. For example, changing the battery on a key fob - $75 (requires programming), to replacing a door latch (including labor) $471.57, supplying an air conditioning hose (part only) $368.39. These are actual prices. When asked about their pricing policy VW North American provided an answer containing verbiage but no substance.

At 62k miles, my VWs coil pack ignition just failed, which is costing me about over $600. I cant believe my VW make and model wasnt part of the recall. I would appreciate VW of America to reimburse me for my disbursement because this is not fair and no other makers of cars run through such headache of mechanical failures. I am an owner of two VW Rabbits on which I invested substantial money to adapt them with hand controls. I do love VW cars and I was planning to buy another one but shortly. After 60,000 miles the 2007 started jerking and clunking down to the next lowest gear. It shudders and jolts the whole car especially from 3 to 2 and/or 2 to 1. I took the car to Volkswagen Kearny Mesa (8040 Balboa Ave San Diego, CA (858) 300-8160) and they confirmed my suspicion: I am facing the dreadful VALVE BODY issue! After talking to previous VW service managers, copious reading in the vortex forums and research in NHTSA I realized this is a well-known issue by VW that affects AWTF60SN (09G) transmissions. Unfortunately the 2009 Rabbit just recently exhibited the same symptoms which now leaves me with two soon to be undrivable cars. One is the backup of the other so I dont have to rent hand controlled cars when I service one.I would like to give VW the opportunity to do the right thing and fix my two vehicles ASAP and at VW cost. I am sure that the reviews I found in Consumer Affairs are not an accurate representation of how VW treats its customers. Let me use this opportunity to also bring to your attention that your website shows no recalls for any of my vehicles while clearly there is one and that I was never informed despite VW having my information. I will wait week to hear from VW and I am confident of a happy resolution.

My name is Joe ** and I purchased a 2017 Passat model S. I am already having issues that VW USA has refused to address. My iPhone automatically syncs and auto plays my music from my iPhone causing my battery to drain. On my particular vehicles model (S), I am being told there is no option to chose for the music from my iPhone to stop auto playing. The only Option built in to the software of my radio is to completely shut off the BT Audio tab. By doing so, I am unable to use the hands free Bluetooth function of my incoming and out going calls.I am also unable to use the Bluetooth audio feature to play navigation through my car speakers. I have been in close contact with Apple Engineering and have confirmed this is not an issue with my iPhone. I do not this issue my with BMW or my Honda CRV because there is a tab programmed in to the radios software to prevent my music from auto playing. The even more aggravating thing is that this auto play (stop) button is built in to the radio software on the VW Passat SE model (the more expensive model). Is this a ploy by VW to get me to spend an extra $5,000?I feel that VW is placing the lives of myself and my family to be at risk of death or serious injury by forcing me to actually place my hands on my phone while driving. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I have Googled dozens of VW forums with other VW owners with the same exact problem! Is VW deliberately placing their customers lives at risk just because we have chosen a base model? I find this to be disgusting and a total lack of customer service. Can you help escalate a resolution for this serious life safety problem? If not a simple software patch then how about replacing my radio? I am very concerned with the safety of my family and I.

I owned a 2010 VW diesel Golf during the timeframe eligible for former owner compensation. Before the emissions scandal occurred, my Golf required a $2000 diesel particulate filter at 96k miles. I reluctantly replaced it because I loved the car and the clean diesel emissions. At 100k miles I had the recall emissions software upgrade, and at 106k miles the light came back on and I was told it needed a second $2000 diesel particulate filter. I learned that many owners chose to drive it with the DPF light on, but Service recommended not to as it would impact other functions. I couldnt justify another $2000, so I traded the car in to the dealership and got a used Honda in return. 2 weeks later the scandal hit the news, and I learned that a Diesel Particulate Filter did nothing. I filed a Settlement Claim, got confirmation of eligibility, uploaded all the documents, and 6 months later they denied it. I filed an appeal and have been emailing them once per month, but still no money. What a fiasco, I wonder if any former owners will ever get their money if current owners are having trouble.

On August 21st, 2019, I went for the regular engine oil change in Volkswagen on Barnet Highway in Coquitlam, B.C. Also they offered me free pollen filter change. After a couple of hours, they called me to get my car back. On the way back I found the service reminder on the front window has not been changed. I drove back to them and asked them if whether they really did change the engine oil. If they did it, how come did they change the reminder. I really doubted it. Also they told me that they have changed the pollen filter for me today. Actually on the paper, it showed they did not change. How did that happen? Did they really do services for the customer or just fool us around? Besides, they even did not say sorry at the beginning.

I was recently involved in an accident where I was rear ended on a major highway. I was shocked at how little damage was down to my vehicle and how well it absorbed the impact. My initial thinking was that my vehicle was destroyed but it wasnt and I was able to drive my wagon into the town where there was a collision center. I purchased my 2014 Volkswagen CC in September of 2014. I was so excited to join the VW family. I leased this vehicle to get my feet wet and determine if I would be a lifelong VW customer. Well, in 2016 while driving down one of Houstons busiest freeways my car stalled and I was just barely able to pull to the side of the road. I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership where they kept it for 4 days. They replaced multiple parts, it seemed fine. The very next morning I got up and the car wouldnt start. I had to have it sent back to VW in which they discovered an issue with the fuel pump module. After replacing this part, I drove it back home and the next day it wouldnt start again, maybe the third time is a charm. I had it towed back to VW and they replaced the battery. Less than a year later with my son in the car, the vehicle died again. Luckily I wasnt struck by another vehicle. I had it towed to the nearest VW service center in which they told me it was the fuel module again, but it was out of warranty and I would have to go through VW cares to see about getting it replaced or I would be responsible for an 1,800 repair bill. Well, after going back and forth with them they agreed to replace the part. Can you imagine how unsettling and scary it is to drive a vehicle that has such a huge safety issue and recall with no permanent fix. Well, this weekend I was driving down the freeway and the vehicle stopped again, I was blessed enough to pull to safety. My 10 year old son was in the back seat praying we wouldnt get hit. I had the vehicle towed to VW Saturday night at 8pm, so I was without a vehicle for the entire Easter weekend and couldnt get my son to his obligations. Monday morning I received a call from service advises, my brake fluid was green, the control arm bushings were cracked/dry rot and I needed an alignment totaling 1,000+ in expenses. The service rep stated this was just the beginning, but there was also several transmission codes and the diagnostic would be 135 to see exactly whats wrong with the vehicle. I told her to go ahead that was at 9am, its now 6:30 pm and I have yet to hear anything. I called around 3:00 pm to be told the clutch was out and they were trying to get me a quote for a transmission and to expect my service rep to call before end of day. Well, I am truly disappointed in the service, maintenance and overall Volkswagen CC. I will list all parts Ive had replaced on the vehicle and estimated repair costs since Ive had the vehicle. Ribbed belt. Tensioner. Valve. Separator. Mounting. Bearing. Turbo valve and crankcase breather leaking oil. Washer. Fuel unit. Control un. Battery. Battery disposal fee. I have not added the additional services that Ive had in the past 6 months.

My car computer said the Convertible Top needed to be serviced. I hadnt used the top for about 6 months prior to the light coming on. I took it in to the local dealership and was told that one of the latches that hold the hard top on was not working well. They ordered the part and finally got them in 4 weeks later. They replaced the latches then called and told me that it still was not working and that there was a bent left hinge to the roof that was the problem. VW would only be able to fix this problem by replacing the entire roof for $9500. I created a case with VW USA and when they said that my car was 9000 miles out of the manufacturers warranty, but the car was still only 2.5 years old, and there was nothing they could do for me, I escalated an email to the CEO of VW USA. A department Assistant called me back, said they would send their field service manager for the region out to look at the car and get back to me. They would not give me any names of anyone that was looking at my car besides the dealership mechanics. They called back and would not help me with fixing the car. Essentially I was leasing a $20,000 car that had $10,000 of damage that I didnt cause and VW said, Oh well, cant help you. This was 4 months ago. Ive talked to several current and former VW mechanics and they all said that VW is the only shop that can fix the car. They did however share with me a tech-tip that shows a manufacturers issue with a grommet in the left side of the convertible top that can pop loose, causing the exact damage that Im experiencing with my convertible top. That was posted in April of 2013, and the dealership did not mention this or to my knowledge investigate it. I loved this car. Ive barely driven it over the last 8 months. Im so disappointed in VW for not only NOT rectifying such a strange mechanical problem, but expecting anyone to fix a car for the ridiculous amount of $10,000. The dealership was great and very helpful but I cant help but wonder if the hinge wasnt damaged by the dealership after the fact. The top still doesnt work and I have no resolution. BAD REPUTATION for VW. Every mechanic I spoke with said that VW are the toughest and most expensive cars to work on and they recommend to everyone not to be them. This is my first negative rating of anything, ever! I am so angry and truly disappointed that VW has chosen to not deal with this. Not that VW cares but I will never buy another VW and I will advise anyone I know to stay away from them as well.

I took my VW Polo Vivo sedan 2016 model in for a 90000ks service the 1st week in July. I told the technician that there is a cluck cluck noise coming from the drivers side. Can he please check it. When I got the car back he said the battery needed to be replaced and but I could still drive the car. A week later the car wouldnt start, so took it back to the dealer that did the service and had them replace the battery. I still told him there is this cluck cluck noise. They replaced the battery and he said that he heard the noise but I can still drive the car. They picked up that an irregularity on an injector but I can still drive the car. Only when the EPC light comes on then I must bring the car in. The same day I replaced the battery while on my way home the car wouldnt go faster than 40ks and this cluck cluck noise got louder and louder, eventually the car wouldnt go anymore and I had to get towed home. The next day I called a VW near my house and they said that they cant help me. They fully booked. They can only help me the Friday the 12Th. So I had the car towed in, the security guard at the gate closed the gate in the tow truck and let us drive around aimlessly trying to find the service department. Booked my car in and they took me home. I called in at 3pm that day to ask if they had found something and the guy said to me there is a waiting period of 24 to 48 hours for the technician to look at my car. So I called on every time to this dealer to find out what was wrong with my car. By Tuesday the 16th they still didnt know what was wrong with my car. Wednesday the 17th they said to me the spark plug melted, they couldnt explain how that happened. So they needed me to pay a R6500 stripping fee so they could strip the engine. Thursday they came back and said that the gasket between cylinder 1 and 2 is burnt, they would get back to me with a quote. Thursday even they came back to me with a quote of R45000 that the engine needs to be overhauled. Im still asking how can a car go in for service and a week later the car isnt working and now the engine needs to be overhauled. I logged a complaint with VW SA and they also of no help. Both dealerships are not willing to help me. So now its almost 3 weeks and I dont have a car, and no one is willing to help me. This whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will never buy another VW in my life. I will also tell people not to buy VWs and what service they in for.

Drove it that night but the car still stank of mildew and it rained and water was dripping from all the windows. Defroster just made it worse and was dangerous driving. Took it back in again the next day and told them they didn’t fix anything. Left it there for another 2 weeks. I hit a small deer one month ago (drivers side light, hood, quarter panel). The insurance paid for the body work, but not for a spastic, drivers side door. The car (VW 2002 Golf TDI) thinks the door is open all the time and alerts me. When I turn on the lights at night, the alert screams at me. The dealership, which Allstate Insurance made me tow the car to, says this happens to the door all the time even if you hit a pothole and jar the car. The dealership is a 3-hr round trip from where I live and there is a certified VW mechanic in the next town from me, but Allstate wouldnt let me take it there. I told the adjuster and dealership that nothing was wrong before the accident, but they say it is something that happens on VWs a lot. Why isnt there a recall on this if it is so prevalent. And if hitting a pothole could cause this problem, why wouldnt an accident do so also? I will never buy another VW. I have put a lot of money into this car (VW maintenance costs a lot!). Its a 2002 model, but I had a Honda that I drove for 20 years before any major money had to put into it. This has been a nightmare not having a car for a month and living in a rural area.

I just had Takata airbag done today and am waiting like Libby on the fuel pump which can cause serious consequences if malfunctions and stalls out. I was told today Volkswagen service dept. still does not have the necessary parts to correct and fix this problem. I also have no maintenance or warranty on this car that at time of purchase I was told it had a 3 year maintenance program as well as warranty. I found out today when I took it in for my 3rd year maintenance that it had expired and that it was only 2 years on the maintenance. I never got notification of this until today. My husband purchased a pre-owned 2013 Passat and got 3 years on maintenance yet my car cost 10,000 more and was purchased new. I will never, ever buy another Volkswagen again. Probably should never have listened to the car dealer at time of purchase without verifying myself. I was sold a resist all protection and passkey yet never offered extended warranty option. I will go to another manufacturer with better warranty and maintenance programs next time.

I have a 2012 Volkswagen CC. In November of 2013 my car loss power and had to be towed to dealership. They replaced the fuel injector and stated all 4 spark plugs were burnt and fouled. November of 2014, my car lose power again. Went to Autozone for a read. Cylinder misfire #2 code P0302. Take back to dealership and was told it was a misfire but they state its a random misfire as to not suggest that the last year problem was not resolved. I am charged $744.88 for a Sea foam Cleaning. $20 parts 4 new spark plugs $17 (spark plugs were replaced last year) and a carbon clean. The bill listed a total of $90 in parts, $598.00 in LABOR!! Plus tax and $10 miscellaneous charge. Sea foam cleaning can be found on YouTube and all it does is you put it in your engine and run your car until the exhaust system runs clear!! 2 year old car with engine problems! Last year breakdown details were very detailed probably due to being under warranty. This year they didnt even explain the reason for needing to replace 1 year old spark plugs.

Kateryna of Northfield, IL on Nov. 19, 2014. In reference to a review about Tiguan VW. I had the exact same chain of events including the sudden stopping of the engine, false lights, the computer fixing by the dealership. But my Tiguan 09 @52,000k stopped completely (engine) in a very cold/snow winter morning with our then 6-month old baby in the car. The car had to be towed!! The car was still under warranty 52,000 & less than 5 yrs. yet the dealer and VW refused to fix the car. We made payment To VW the car isnt working for 18 months. So we lost around $30k and we have no car! We have a second car its a Jetta 2011. We are experiencing similar issues and we feel absolutely frustrated dealing with VW. We are wasting too much time, energy and most of all money on VW. The worst experience ever twice!!

I am responding to a post from Dec 2014 about failure to start in the TDI Golf. This has been one of several problems I too have had with this vehicle. My problem started last year with similar instances of the vehicle not starting, having it towed and then having it start at the dealership with no detectable problems. A former VW technician mentioned to me that this has been a known problem with this model and that it was likely the intercooler causing the issue. The next time it happened, they checked the hoses to the intercooler and they were full of water and ice. I had to fight with VW service headquarters (and they denied there is a known problem with the intercoolers), but eventually (after several phone calls) they agreed to fix the problem at no cost to me. The car worked great for the rest of that winter season, but unfortunately the same problem is occurring again this winter. I have to say I am very disappointed with VW because I like the cars design. However, I cannot say that I would ever purchase another VW due to this reliability problem.

VW passat 2009 - I have seen many posts written about the tire cupping issue and was wondering if anyone had heard any explanations. I was told that the TDI and non diesel Passat have the same chassis, and this is the reason for the cupping. The suspension system should not be the same for the diesel as the non diesel due to the weight difference. Now, along with the FOURTH set of tires Im needing you buy (51000) I have learned two wheels have a crack on inner side which is causing tires to leak. Anyone else experience this?? I have never been in an accident nor have I hit any gigantic potholes! Also having issues with the brakes... Had to replace two expensive rotors as there was NO warning sounds before the grinding when its too late. Very disappointed in VW.

I bought a 2010 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen because rumor has it that the VW diesel vehicles are solid cars that get good MPG. My car gets decent MPG but the inferior quality of the car more than cancels out any savings I may have had on fuel. Oct 2012 - The fuel pump imploded. $6,600 worth of damage. Aug 2013 - EGR valve = bad. Had to be replaced. $709.53 out of pocket. Sept 2013 - Diesel particulate filter = bad. Had to be replaced. EGR valve had to be replaced AGAIN. $1,714.80 out of pocket. Apr 2014 - Car in limp mode. Turbo = bad. $1,689.94 out of pocket. July 2014 - Diesel particulate filter bad AGAIN. EGR valve bad for a 3rd time in 12 months. Estimate $2,200 out of pocket. August 2014 - Air Condition stopped working. Estimate $1,700 out of pocket.

They lied to me about putting my extra money that I sent in to go to the principal. I had to call them several times and was told every month I pay I have to call them and tell them to put the overpayment to the principal. I have never been late on my payment and I feel like they are charging me more than what Im to repay. I hope and pray that the company has hardships because Im sure Im not the only person they are doing this to.

What car only lasts 87k miles that was built in 2015? This VW Golf, and it has also had multiple issues where it leaked coolant and had to be repaired twice outside of warranty. Now the engine has failed and VWOA has left me high and dry. I will not be purchasing another VW, they have lost me as a customer. I drive 30k miles a year and purchase cars often. This is unacceptable, once I fork out more money to VW for this last repair I will be trading it in never to return.

I have a 2017 Touareg and the power steering went out almost two weeks ago (30k miles). I took it to the dealer immediately and they seemed to have issues figuring out how to fix it. They told me they were working with VW corporate to resolve it. After two days of nothing happening, I reached out to corp VW myself and got assigned to Colin **. His scripted emails were fluff and he wouldnt return my calls. The local dealer is telling me they cant figure it out and corp is telling me to take it 100 miles to another dealer to have it looked at. They love you when they are trying to sell you a car but they show no interest in providing good warranty service. If I could turn back the clock, I would not buy a VW.. Too many problems, a corporate CARELESS team that is checked out.

TRUE EXPERIENCE - If you are making a decision on what to purchase as your next reliable car, do yourself a big favor and DO NOT PURCHASE A VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN!!! I had been a loyal VW customer for 15 years and I owned a 2011 VW Tiguan brand new. I had heard that the Tiguan was a reliable, well-made car. I couldn’t be more wrong!!!My major repairs started with the replacing of the rear differential (few gears broke off from a sealed unit), to then replacing the turbocharger which I was told was defective. Then I had the timing-chain break while driving the vehicle, so a replacement was needed, along with a now damaged head cam. To top it all off, the entire engine seizes while on a highway and had to be replaced. The price tag to replace the damaged engine was $11,000 from the VW dealership. All of these major repairs happening at under 80K miles!!!While the sales staff at that particular dealership was very helpful in getting me into a new NON-VW car, corporate VW was the exact opposite. Their reply to me was that they didn’t have a program in place to compensate me for my troubles, despite the obvious flaws in their car models design. The fact that I had a low-mileage car with high out-of-pocket expenses was of no concern to them. So take my advice, and I have nothing to gain from this. If you do not want to pay high exorbitant repair bills, AVOID VOLKSWAGEN AND DO NOT PURCHASE THE TIGUAN!!! This car is unreliable with obvious design flaws throughout. Trust me, I experienced it.

My father, the son of a German immigrant, bought only Volkswagen starting back in 59, always had trouble with them. I started buying them in my youth and always had trouble with them. Then started buying American cars, far less trouble. Then started buying Toyotas and lo and behold, no trouble.

I am in disgust that the VW buyback has not been handled properly or expeditiously for overseas military personnel. As a veteran and an overseas teacher for the Military, we deserve better treatment than you have given us and as like many infectious diseases and viruses, word spreads at the same rate! I hope that word of your treatment spreads like wildfire regarding your service and lack of support for the U.S. Military. I will surely do my part in this matter.Form after form appears to be a stall tactic! The public information on the VW website stated that VW would take care of military personnel and shipping costs would be taken care of by VW. Ha! I have just paid approximately $3700 for shipping costs from S. Korea to Texas and hope that I receive a refund! At the rate of your response for email and other documents, I will probably be in my grave before I realize any reimbursements!
