2017 Volkswagen e-Golf

The 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf is an all-electric variant of the popular Golf hatchback. Known for its emission-free driving, efficient electric powertrain, and practical design, the e-Golf offers an environmentally friendly and economical option for drivers seeking an electric vehicle. Here are some key features and specifications of the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf:

Electric Powertrain:

The 2017 e-Golf is powered solely by an electric motor, producing zero tailpipe emissions.

The electric motor delivers instant torque, resulting in responsive acceleration.

Range and Charging:

The e-Golf's range on a single charge can vary based on factors such as driving conditions, temperature, and driving style.

The e-Golf typically offers a range of around 80 to 100 miles on a full charge, making it suitable for urban and suburban commuting.

Charging times vary based on the charging equipment used. It can take several hours to fully charge the battery using a Level 2 charging station.

Design and Interior:

The e-Golf retains the classic design of the Golf lineup but adds unique exterior styling elements that differentiate it from its gasoline counterparts.

Inside, the e-Golf offers a comfortable and modern interior with an emphasis on eco-friendly materials.

Seating Capacity:

Similar to the standard Golf, the 2017 e-Golf generally offers seating for up to five passengers in a 2-row configuration.

Cargo Space:

The e-Golf's cargo space is affected by the presence of the battery, but it still offers practical storage for everyday needs.

Infotainment and Technology:

The e-Golf is equipped with technology features, including a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone integration, and available navigation.

Depending on the trim level, driver assistance features like forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and more might be available.

Safety Features:

The 2017 e-Golf often comes with standard safety features like airbags, stability control, antilock brakes, and more.

Charging Infrastructure:

Owning an electric vehicle, including the e-Golf, requires access to charging infrastructure. It's important to consider charging options and availability in your area.

Note on Updates:

Manufacturers often introduce updates to their vehicles. For the most accurate and up-to-date information about the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf, including specifications, features, and availability, I recommend checking Volkswagen's official sources or contacting a Volkswagen dealership.

I introduce myself to you as a long-time and loyal VW customer. I have owned seven VWs in my life. Currently, I own a 2017 Touareg and a 2016 Jetta (son). Obviously, I enjoy the VW brand. It goes without saying that the events surrounding the TDI matter have been disappointing to me as such a loyal customer. Having said that, I accepted your apologies on behalf of VW and the terms of the TDI settlement as they related to my 2014 Passat TDI. Not only did I agree to the settlement terms as outlined by the US Courts, I went on to purchase the 2017 Touareg after turning in my Passat in late November. To be brief, the settlement process has been an unmitigated disaster by all accounts. I entered into a signed agreement with Volkswagen on or around December 22, 2016. I was told my funds and the funds promised via the settlement agreement owed to Fidelity Bank would be distributed within three business days. Indeed, I received my portion of the settlement funds timely. Unfortunately, as of todays date, some 60 plus days later, the bank has yet to receive their funds. Although, the representatives from Fidelity Bank have done what they can to assist me, in order to keep from being sent to collections and adversely impacting my 820 credit rating, I have been forced to make multiple additional car payments on a vehicle that I have not possessed since November 2016. Not to make light of the tangible financial losses in terms of interest and principle, I have spent conservatively 40 hours in phone calls and e-mails back and forth with the claims center, the bank and now the plaintiffs general counsel. Despite my efforts, NOT one single person has taken the leadership to step-in to rectify this matter.Let me say this, the service rendered by the VW claims department is deplorable! I have been a risk manager and claims/litigation manager in the insurance industry for the past 27 years. I have worked for and with some of the best. Simply said, the claims department handling the TDI settlements is THE WORST. They have been unprofessional, dishonest and in my opinion, they have continued to commit fraud on behalf of VW. The plaintiffs general counsel is doing what they can to assist me. However, to date, they have not been able to rectify this matter. Without continuing on, which believe me I could, I will leave you with this. I fully expect this matter to be resolved at the end of business today. That includes the payoff to my bank as promised to me when I signed the settlement documents in December 2016. In addition, I expect compensation for the accrued interest, principle payments and my extensive time that I have had to dedicate to this matter to protect my personal and financial interest.I have engaged individual counsel to pursue additional counts of fraud and material misrepresentation against VW. Additionally, I have reached out to local law enforcement to file criminal theft charges against VW and their corporate representatives for the unlawful taking of my 2014 VW Passat TDI. I will post this letter on every social media site possible by the end of the business day today should I not receive an immediate and satisfactory response. The actions by VW as outlined above constitute continued criminal and fraudulent behavior!

I thought I loved VW. Heck, I use to live in a town just outside of Wolfburg, GE. (Erkerode) It was a happy day when I purchased my 1st VW Jetta TDI. Drove like a champ and great on gas. Main reason I got it was because my daily commute was 2hrs 15min 1 way (all highway). Everything was good. Getting oil changes and services IAW VW. Then the emissions scandal happened. And I wont drone on about that. But, shortly thereafter I had a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) problem. No worries, I thought, Im still covered by Warranty, just barely. Bring her in to my local Dealership, they take a look and say that they need to do a manual regeneration. Next day, I pick her up, warning lights are off, and everything is good to go.The following day, I make my trek to and from work. And wouldnt you know it, the DPF light is back on. I call up the Dealership and drop her back off at the next available appointment. The kind folks at the Dealership even put me up in a Courtesy Vehicle. The next day I pick my car up after they explained to me that they had to do a deeper cleaning. Hey, no worries, this is all covered by Warranty. I happily drive home thinking that this issue has been resolved. Weekend goes by, Monday is here and I make my way to and from work. I get home and lo and behold, the DPF light is back on. Now Im getting frustrated and its apparent that something else must be wrong. I call the Dealership and they tell me that the only other thing they can do is replace the DPF altogether. It doesnt seem right, but they are the experts and it is under Warranty, so I drop her off. I get my car back, drive back and forth to work a few times, problem solved...Or so I thought. 20,000 miles later, I get a new set of lights on my instrument panel. This time its a flashing Glow Plug light, the Check Engine light, and a text display of a flashing wrench followed by the words Inspect. Wow, thats A LOT of stuff. But hey, at least its not the DPF light. I take a glance at my Owners Manual (OM) to see what these things mean. According to the OM, both the flashing Glow Plug light and Check Engine light means Engine Control Malfunction, and the flashing wrench had to do with the Transmission. GREAT... I just put a new transmission in my other car, but thats neither here nor there. I call up the Dealership and schedule an appointment. They have it for a day and then the Technician gives me a call to inform me that the codes came up for the DPF. So what they needed to do was run a regen and it would cost 300 something dollars. At this point, Im out of Warranty. If money is coming out of my pocket, Im going to make my questions and concerns known. I proceed to ask the Technician that if its a DPF problem, why is it that the DPF light didnt come on AND how is this possible, VW JUST replaced the DPF. Needless to say, he did not have an answer for either of those questions and said that hed give me a call back in 10 minutes or so. About 10 min go by and I get a call from a Service Rep that is familiar with my car and the whole DPF dilemma. She proceeds to tell me that they are going to investigate the matter and contact the main VW Tech something or another. The following morning, she gives me a call to tell me that VW Tech said it is a Failed Temp Sensor and that it will cost $2,625.14 to get it fixed and that I should call VW Customer Care about this to see if they can help the situation.ROFLMAO, they must have lost their minds. You mean to tell me that had I not questioned their original findings, I would have dropped $300 only to have the same issue keep popping up. So I did a little research. Apparently, when the Glow Plug light and Check Engine light pops up, it does that because the DPF is at 75% loading or is saturated with 40 grams of soot because the regen process isnt kicking in. And you dont have to be a genius to come to the assumption/conclusion that if the regen process (which cleans the filter), isnt activating because the Temp Sensor is bad, that driving approximately 20,000 miles without a proper regeneration occurring could lead to a DPF with 75% loading.Meaning, the Temp Sensor was most likely faulty the 1st time I was having the recurring DPF problems, only money wasnt coming out of my pocket at the time so I didnt question it, therefore the Dealership Technicians didnt further investigate it and come to the realization that that was the underlying issue. Quite convenient for VW. So, I take the Service Reps advice and call the VW Customer Care number that same day (today). The representative on the line was polite, and after a lengthy discussion she informs me that there is nothing they can do to help because my vehicle is no longer under warranty. She ALSO tells me that this $2,625.14 operation is just a suggestion from VW Tech on a possible resolution to my issue. That the VW Tech is not saying that the Temp Sensor is bad, but that it COULD fix the problem.WHAT... Youre telling me that I cough up $2,625.14 for something that VW most likely missed the first go around AND it may or may not resolve the issue... Thats unacceptable. On multiple levels that is unacceptable. 1st, that I have to pay for something that the Dealership missed/misdiagnosed the first time around and 2nd that they expect me to pay this sum of money when it might solve the issue, but they are not sure. So, I asked the kind lady if there was another number that I could contact to voice my displeasure/concern and was told, Im sorry, this is it. The sad thing is that this was a great car until the DPF issue. It was so good that my wife was wanting a VW as her next car, despite the Emission Scandal. LoL, needless to say, while typing this up, she sent me the following text, Well no more VWs for us.

I have had all kinds of things to go wrong. My VR6 CC runs great but the engine light will come on and I take it to the Volkswagen dealership. Every time they tell me that a sensor has gone bad it cost me around $400 dollars every time. I have had 2 fuel sensor replaced. Now I find out that I have been over filling my tank making the service light to come on. Now I stop putting extra fuel in and the service light went off. Now my brake light is on. I called the service department and they told me that it is probably a sensor. I also have a turning light on. I replaced the light but it still does not work. I was told I would have to hook it up to the computer to find out why it is not working. When I first purchased the car I had 2 front wheel bearings to go out under 36k miles. The dealership told me that it was not the wheel bearings. At 40k they check it out and told me that it was bad wheel bearing. This was after the warranty ran out. The wheel bearings were $250 each and labor was $250 each. I finally got them to cover the parts but I was responsible for the labor. If they would have fixed the problem when I told them it would have all been covered. It seems every time I get a call or get the oil changed a light comes on. I have always wondered if they have a way to turn lights on. I also had to change out the wiring harness for the trunk at 50k and it was over $500.

Purchased a used 2010 Volkswagen cc about a year ago with 70,000 miles. Clean carfax, no accidents. I did have the understanding Volkswagens are expensive to have worked on, but also thought they are supposed to be well built and reliable. The car has been a nightmare from day 1. Just the last 2 months alone the has been in and out of the dealership 5 times. The intake manifold, all the fuel injectors, the fuel pump, fuel pump control module, carbon build up... on and on and just as horrible as the car is the dealership. Ship is just as bad (maybe worse). Volkswagen doesnt stand by their product. They know about all the problems people have with them and they dont care.Just with the fuel system alone I truly dont believe all those parts I mentioned above failed. I think the techs just kept throwing parts at it until it ran at my expense of course. I could keep going and going... Long story short do yourself a favor and buy another brand. I hope the emissions scandal puts them out of business. Every time I drive the car I now wonder am I going to arrive at my destination? Totally disgusted!!!

Expensive repairs after 60,000 miles. Most of the VW 2.0 liter TBI engines are known for water pump failures. IN December 2019, VW added an extended warranty to your car you probably do not know about. If you take your car to the dealer for the warranty extension repair, they will probably tell that oil leaks, another VW problem, caused the pump to fail, and they wont honor the warranty. Now if you already paid to have your water pump replaced, you need to join the class-action lawsuit for compensation. It is ridiculous that a vehicle with 68,000 should need $4,000 worth of oil leaks and water pump repairs. This is another known problem that VW does not want to address so I would recommend selling that vehicle before the warranty expires.

Beware of the scam Half off the oil change. It looks like they might be putting half the oil!!! From day one always service my vehicle with Volkswagen. No one besides Volkswagen dealerships shop serviced my vehicle. A few days ago the car stopped on the freeway while driving. Lucky no one was hurt. When insurance inspector got back to me they stated that the cause of the accident was Engine fail due to zero oil in Engine. The engine had turned black inside and there was no sign of an oil change done for months. Which is not true. Also no sign of any leakage. None of the service light ever came on indicating that there was something wrong with the vehicle! The vehicle even states that Im not due for an oil change yet! When I called VW they gave me the runaround basically telling me that even though the car is not due for an oil change for another 2000 mile or months their hands are tied. Because The vehicle has too many mileage (94000) and to old (2011). But they would be happy to forward my complaint to the dealer that did my oil change. They didnt even offer to have my car inspected by one of their shop. Thought I was saving when I got that offer in the mail half off my oil change. Which now is going to cost me a new engine!

Customer Care at Volkswagen is an oxymoron. We bought 2 new Jettas TDIs in 2011. We bought a new Passat in 2012. I called customer care today 3/20/2015 about a problem. They never looked up our record of being an excellent customer, never bothered to look up our vin numbers to realize how much money we spent buying their cars, never asked our names. ** (the rep at customer care) did however say, apologize for that. So as we go out this weekend to look at cars to purchase do you think we will drop by a VW dealer?

I went in because my car stopped in the middle of the road 5 times on a Friday. Volkswagen provided me a car for the weekend and then told me on that Monday which was October 9th that there was a recall on the fuel pump and module and that is why my car is stopping in the middle of the road. I called Tom Bush Volkswagen in Jacksonville on that Friday when my car stopped because I was in the middle of traffic and almost got hit. I was in tears and that is why the guy got me a car to drive for the weekend. They want me to pay $850.00 for parts that is not my fault. I dont have money for that and just recovering from Hurricane Irma. I do not have it. I am not mad at Tom Bush they tried everything to get my car fixed for the recall. I am more than frustrated with the Volkswagen company because I was told I have to pay for the parts and they know it’s a recall and then they will reimburse me. I feel in danger to drive my car and have not driven my car since then because it stops more than three times in traffic. I feel like Volkswagen should fix my car because they know it’s a recall. This is not my fault so why am I catching rides to and from work because I cant drive my car. This rating really deserves a zero. Volkswagen does not care about my safety or my familys safety when I have to try and drive a car that stops because of their faulty equipment. Something needs to be done and fast. Its now a month and I have no car to drive.

In October 2016 I registered my 2013 VW Jetta TDI with VW as a buyback. As soon as requested I submitted copies of registration, drivers licenses and lien holder info. About a month later (definitely not within the qp days VW was supposed to respond). I got a final offer letter. I signed the correct places, had it notarized and faxed it on as directed. Two weeks and two phone calls later to customer support the status remained as waiting for fax. So I faxed the documents again. Another wasted phone call to CS to find out why they dont/cant acknowledge receiving my fax... Then I get an email stating I didnt send all pages of my offer. So back to another fax ($8) every time. Twenty four hours later status is waiting for fax... I have transmission receipt showing all 7 pages were successfully sent. Another call to CS and again they give me a non answer... I have no way of knowing. VW is stalling. What is our next recourse?

Each month I have to call VW Credit so they remove the tax as it was already paid to my state as they note every month yet it magically reappears and they fix it for the month I call but never for the entire period. I love the vehicles but this will be the last one I have after spending a significant amount of time each month getting this corrected, only to have it reappear on the following billing cycle. Incompetent and probably illegal. They probably wont even pay attention to this. Next stop is to seek legal counsel. Cant wait until I am no longer upside down on the vehicle to get another vehicle and separate all ties with VW Credit.

Dont buy a Volkswagen. I made the mistake. And Im here to prevent you from doing the same thing. Heres the deal. Volkswagen is a dishonest company. Dieselgate proved that. Some of the companys former executives are now in prison. Theyre literally convicted criminals. But the issue is beyond Dieselgate. Volkswagens tend to feature some really nice German engineering with some fatal flaws that make the cost of ownership rise astronomically. Volkswagen Group of America takes no responsibility for any of this and instead only responds when it faces a class action lawsuit. I purchased a Volkswagen CC in 2010. It was an amazing, graceful vehicle for the first four years. And then became -- and remains -- like a star athlete who got injured early in his career, turning into a shell of what he once was. My Volkswagen CC is the Penny Hardaway of cars.First there was the carbon buildup issue with the intake manifold. Long story short, the intake manifold has a design flaw. It results in the buildup of carbon deposits. This is a common issue with VW and Audi direct injection engines. VW will lie to you about why it happens, blaming the type of gas you use. Cleanup costs $500-$800 to clean. Two VW dealerships lied to me about aspects of the issue, telling me two different stories. VW Group of America refused to pay for the cleaning. Ultimately, I had to get it cleaned by a non-dealer specialist. And now my turbo is failing, putting the longevity of the engine at risk. VW Group of America refuses to cover the replacement of the turbo, though the dealer technician said hes seen a lot of turbos fail.Ive had a host of other problems with this car. Leaks, replacements of shocks and struts, multiple battery failures, and frequent flat tires. Theres a class action lawsuit alleging that the suspension of the car has a design flaw, causing premature tire wear. Thats happened with me. Ive had to buy a total of 12 additional new tires for this car. Ive had to replace the battery three times. Ive had to get the intake manifold cleaned. Now I have to get the turbo replaced.I have a spreadsheet detailing my maintenance and repair costs, toiling in roughly $10,000 over eight years. There are other repairs various dealers have recommended that I did not get done or chose cheaper alternatives. Altogether, they would have totaled more than $6000 more. Every dealer comes with their own set of $2000 recommended repairs.Anyway, theres a clear pattern: these problems Ive experienced are mainly based on VW design flaws. The fuel pump issue (for which theres a recall) causes the battery to drain. The suspension design flaw (for which theres a class action lawsuit) causes the tires to wear quickly. The direct injection engine causes carbon buildup on the intake manifold. And my guess is theres some fatal flaw with the turbos. VW is a company that only responds to these issues when facing legal action. Thats why their execs are in jail. Dont make the mistake I made. Dont buy a Volkswagen. They continue to deceive after Dieselgate and should be out of business. Unethical people.

So I bought a 09 golf in the UK 2 years ago with HID headlights in it (plug & play). I then realised they are bad for the car. I then had an issue with my indicator it would not turn off so was advised the body control module needed to be replaced. Volkswagen quoted me about €180 for diagnostic and whatever extra to get fixed (about €300) for new BCM. Had to get the keys recoded €75 and paid the 180 for the diagnostic and only coded one key. On top of this the diagnostic didnt work because the BCM was not correct. They told me to come back with a bcm from the same year and mark golf for it to work correctly. Asked could I book in a couple months later and keep it on site overnight to avoid taking time off work. We dont do that. After arranging work around the date I booked I Got Another BCM. This time the correct one with same part number. Back in today and could not pair either key and said I have to buy one direct for about €300 plus fitting but before that need to charge me €185 just to make sure this is the issue (again, as if its magically going to work the second time around). Collected it today and I was told neither key had been coded and I still have to pay the €45 because they wasted their time. This garage has disgraceful customer service and robbery for nothing. I will never in my life again buy Volkswagen and make sure none of my friends or family do. Each time I came into the showroom I spend 10 minutes before someone helps me and seems to think its acceptable to speak down to me. You dont take money off someone for a 5 minute key coding job you could not complete. Also not to Advise an alternative option of replacing a bcm that might not be the issue but in the end will charge me just to be sure. Back to square one but -€305. I also questioned why I paid more the last time to code the keys and I got no reply.

Bought a 2013 2.5 SE as a left over in 2014. Since then I have had the window master switch replaced, the front passenger window switch, the Bluetooth module, shifter and ignition replaced all due to failures and malfunctions. The one item was the AC where during summer temps the vent temperature fluctuated from 40 to 70 degrees, the AC would shut off humid air blow out for 10 minutes and then it would kick back on. I have brought my vehicle in many times for this issue at every 10k factory service and many times in between. The incompetent techs look for malfunction codes, check the charge level and run the car in the SHOP and say, Oh its cold...At the 40k mark outside of the B2B warranty they found the issue and told me a simple exact and recharge would fix it. Now if the charge level was fine at every AC service why would it be found now? That wasnt the case, the issue still remains. I got VWOA involved. They said nothing can be done other than having them look at it again (likely same results) where I may be liable for loaner expenses. I ask them how this happen since I took same time duster also and vanto - the duster I drive 65000 km but no problem. And vento give me very bad experience - I ask them how is it possible they give me answer quality is not same. That means Volkswagen is cheating and Renault is giving best quality. Now they are not giving me warranty - first they told me 3 years warranty but now they created 50000 bill. Now you people tell me what to do. My car is in workshop. Only now I think I have to take help from court first.

UNFAIR! I was an outstanding VW client and yet, VW was UNFAIR and DISCRIMINATORY to me! I leased a VW Jetta three years ago. I made all of my payments and have paid my vehicle down to its residual. I called VW credit and got a payoff and the payoff is my residual plus a $350 purchase option charge as my contract states. Upon wanting to trade my car in the facility, I called VW to verify the written payoff amount and to my great surprise, the payoff was $1,300 higher, therefore, reducing MY trade-in value by $1,300! I contracted for 45,000 miles but drove the car only 28,000 miles. Reminder... I paid for those miles with a lower residual and higher payments! My daughter bought a similar Jetta about the same time and sold it to the same dealership I was attempting to. VW credit honored her written payoff that was her residual value plus remaining payments not yet due, less unearned finance charges plus purchase option. No GREEDY increase! I am only asking VW credit to allow me to trade my lease in for what I have paid it down to. I feel I earned at least that by being an outstanding customer and making every payment perfectly on time. But VW HAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME and not treated me fair like they did in my daughters case. Did VW treat her fair because she is an attorney? I plan on never doing business with VW in the future! Plus, Im sure if theyre doing this to me, theyve done it to others. So I am seriously considering starting a class action suit!

I purchased my 2009 Volkswagen cc at 72000 miles on November 2014. The same day I drove home I had a CEL turn on and off, I took it back, and the dealer changed 1 coil wire that was about to go bad. Thanks. Soon after (month later), my fuel pump and fuel pump module went out. I called and they said, No warranty. I went and purchased, 650 dollars with installation at brother in laws shop. Cheaper than dealer by $500. Then at 112000 miles my transmission went out. No warranty of course. That was 5k to replace and install. This was in March 2016. In April my fuel injector was misfiring. Replaced all injectors. Then in March 2017 my throttle body went out. No help all this time from VW group of America. Worthless to be honest. Now in October 2017 my fan went unbalanced. No more VW for me EVER!!!

I have had to replace my engine twice in the last 10 months. My 2012 VW CC with 89k miles has cost $11,000 in repairs in the last 10 months with nothing covered by warranty. I bought my 2010 VW CC sport a few months ago. I was pretty happy with it at first. I rolled 60K and took it down to Hallmark (Henderson TN) dealership. I asked for the 60k service that my manual stated it needed which includes the following: oil change, spark plugs and coils change, tire rotation, brake inspection. I paid 300 for all this to be completed. After leaving the dealership my car starts misfiring after only 20 min. I drive it home and called the dealership only to be told CARBON build up in the motor needed to be cleaned. (There is no carbon build up.) I asked for more details and they hung up. So I decided to look into my car and see what they actually did. Lo and behold the spark plugs were still in the car from 2014. They charged me $90 for the tune up that they did not even do. I looked at the coils and it was the same thing. Except the coils were the original 2010 ones. Now my car wont even stay running because of something that they did during their SERVICE. They want to charge me another 1300 for them to re-diagnose the issue and clean the non existent carbon. (The carbon was previously cleaned before taking it to them.) MY advice, do the basic maintenance yourself and dont ever visit this dealership. If I could afford to swap this VW off it would be gone like yesterday.

My husband and me have been the proud owners of three new Volkswagen cars. We have always had our cars maintained only by the Donaldson Volkswagen dealership in Sayville, NY. Ever since I have owned my 2004 VW Beetle, I have noticed that the ignition cylinder lock. I verbally mentioned this several times to the Donaldsons Technicians and was told VW Beetle had been made this way and I was informed to wiggle the steering wheel and place my foot on the brake. I never check out this information given to me by the technicians. My beetle is now over 88,000 miles and without an extensive warranty. On 7/18/16 my car broke down and locked. My car had to be towed to the Donaldson dealership. I explained to technician this was an on going problems throughout the years that I owned the VW Beetle. I had to fix the car. The Donaldson Technician wrote: Found steering column locked. Mechanically faulty causing damage to ignition lock cylinder, removed and replaced ignition lock cylinder, removed and replaced steering column lock. This cost was $532.30 to repair. I asked the technician again if anything could be done with the cost of the repairs since this was an ongoing problem with the ignition lock cylinder. Technician replied, no, your warranty has expired and the car is over 88,000 miles. The technician gave me the VW Cares telephone number but I received the same comment from Improvement Customer Service person Martin ** as well as their team leader MaryJo ** who made the final decision. Both of them would not give me their last names. I learned two lessons from this experience. 1) I am not a value customer at VW Donaldson. 2) Check out an on going problem with your car and find out if this problem is ongoing with other VW 2004 Beetles. My husband and me were going to purchase two more VW cars but we learned our lesson from this experience.

My vehicle broke down in Florida on a vacation there. I was given roadside assistance as part of their goodwill to the owners that were lied to about the diesel vehicles. The actual dealership that caused the problem covered the cost of the repair but I was told I would be able to go thru roadside assistance trip interruption to get back cost of hotel, gas, food etc. that was incurred because of this. Now after submitting all my receipts that I was told to do I am now denied that because its not a repair that is covered under the new vehicle warranty - that it was the fault of a dealership so they are saying Im out of luck. Ive owned 2 Volkswagens and if they dont make good on this, this one will be my last. None of this was my fault - its the fault of Volkswagen. I did the right thing. I got a tune up and got screwed once again by Volkswagen.

Have a 2012 Volkswagen CC that needs 7200.00 worth of engine work on a part that broke before it was even due to be inspected based on Volkswagen’s service maintenance guide. Called Volkswagen to see if they would cover the repair, or at least give me some kind of assistance. They basically said my warranty was up, I’m on my own. Which really surprised me. My reasoning for asking Volkswagen to make an attempt to correct this problem, was that their service maintenance guide said, “90,000 miles, timing chain and tensler should be inspected, and possibly replaced. Well my timing chain, and tensler did not make it to the 90,000 mile inspection. Which in turn destroyed my cylinder head when it broke. Leaving me with a 7,200.00 repair bill. BUYER BEWARE!!! I have been an on/off VW owner for almost 15 years. I recently became one again just a few months ago and now I know why I was on/off, rather than always on! After this current experience, I cannot recommend Volkswagen products any longer and no matter what changes they make, I will never return. My recent vehicle was purchased brand new and the quality of workmanship on it is so poor that I would not let my worst enemy get one. Mine came with a defective dashboard straight out of the factory! The dash had a golf ball sized imperfection and a few hollow spots near the passenger airbag. The front window trims also had gashes in them and were also colored differently. One of my interior lights has a bug and some floating debris inside of the housing. There is a s black paint mark on one side of my trunk door (my vehicle is red). I dont care how much the vehicle retails for, this workmanship is pure junk and 100% unacceptable. This vehicle and all of VW is a total embarrassment to the entire car world. Even FORD is putting out top-notch vehicles in 2020. SHAME ON YOU VOLKSWAGEN.

Every time I call regarding my issue I get the runaround from a representative, obviously reading from a script. Its obvious that Volkswagen Corporate has the power and I am just a little mouse. They feed the customer service reps the lines and even though they know very well that I am being wronged, I have no way of speaking to anyone who has the power to resolve the issue so I am completely powerless. The deception/lie that Volkswagen did on the diesel cars will affect you as a regular fuel Volkswagen car owner when it comes to trading in your car for something other than the bad reputation VW now. Be prepared to be ** when you get your trade in value as the dealerships are going to give you “Auction” since no one trusts VW anymore. They are concerned that if they were deceitful with the diesel, what’s to stop VW from making false claims about the gas VW’s. I have a 2015 VW Passat Limited, in excellent condition, financed for 4 yrs at 0% financing and my trade is worth $7,500 at “Auction” per the other than VW dealerships (Dec 23, 2016), I have NEVER been upside down on trading in a vehicle before, and note, this isn’t upside down, this is **, over $7k upside down. I have a 2013 VW Jetta TDI which I love. Recently, back in July, the fuel pump went. I had my car towed to VW Service in a town near me to get the problem diagnosed (even though I knew what it was) and to get warranty work performed. This process took 30 days! My car was in the service department for a MONTH! This is unacceptable. They first had to order a fuel kit, then extract fuel, send the fuel to a 3rd party, wait to get the fuel back. Decide if it was covered by VW under powertrain warranty, then order the parts for the fuel pump. First of all, this car has less than 40,000 miles. I was so irritated. I wrote to the dealer & corporate and they both said this is the process so thats that. Thats insane! I dont care about my loaner car, I spent more in gasoline in a month than I normally would. What a joke. Thinking about trading this car in before more things go wrong and they have to keep it for another month.

This complaint is in reference to the Driver Side Takata Airbag being recalled as unsafe and potentially deadly. I am leasing a Volkswagen CC. This is the second VW Ive owned. I was notified almost a year ago that my car has been affected by the Takata airbag recall (Driver side airbag) and I have been driving an unsafe vehicle this whole time! There is obviously no fix for this yet and who knows when/if they will ever repair the problem. I have tried working with the VW Dealership that I leased it from as well as VW Credit and also, Ive been trying to sell this vehicle however, as you can imagine no one will buy this VW because of the recall! Who in their right mind would want to?!?! Yet, Im expected to drive an unsafe car and continue paying for it as well! This seems fraudulent and illegal to me yet I have no recourse. This is totally insane!!! Shame on Takata and Volkswagen for getting away with this!!! I requested that VW buy back the leased car from me. They want an exorbitant amount of money and to my surprise they said they couldnt help me!! They said it is an issue for Volkswagen America to fix... So now Im stuck with a vehicle that no one will buy including VW!! Im truly disgusted by the whole experience and the company. Although I cant even put into words what I truly think about this company! This isnt my first VW but it will definitely be my last one!!!

Cant believe the nerve of Volkswagen’s warranty and a slap on the hand. Dealership guys were very respectful and friendly but doing very bad illegal things again. Took my 2011 TDI Jetta under warranty to the dealership for LONG START and ACCELERATION LAG, (fuel issues). Day 2 of having my vehicle, Jason via text message asked for approval to do a fuel filter and air filter change for 185+tax. I asked wasnt FUEL FILTER covered under my warranty. Via text message, was told NO. Called corporate and was set up with an advisor (Kyle) who did not return my call before I was told to come get my car on day 3. Went to the dealership and spoke to a supervisor named Matt **. Asked him to explain what part about ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM doesnt apply to the fuel filter. His explanation to me, maybe it was worded wrong. I am a certified MASTER tech and I bought this car for the warranty VW was offering. Couldnt believe it. Shouldnt have believed it. I have attached a copy of a page from my warranty booklet which leads us consumers buying these vehicles to believe Volkswagen has our back, not that we are buying and inheriting someone elses problem. I bought the vehicle about 4,000 miles ago and was told it needed done and asked for money for it. Since I did not get the job done, I was charged $143 this morning to get my vehicle back. I asked for a itemized list of what the tech did to diagnose my vehicle since I am paying $135+tax for diag. Was that honored? No, for 3 days my vehicle was with them and my warranty not covered. Advisors say whatever the dealership says because clearly in black and white for anyone to read ENTIRE not excluding filter, would lead you to believe it is covered, especially when the system is under high pressure and you have to prime the system so its really not a DIY for most consumers buying these vehicles. I didnt write the warranty and it should be honored. Not only that, my warranty also states conflicts concerning the warranty, are to be resolved in favor of the consumer. Volkswagen follow the law and honor your warranty and not play word games with the people you are trying to earn the trust back from. Im going to the top with my issue and litigation for selling me a vehicle under false advertising. Not only that, but I also have a warranty under the HPFP recall warranting me anything that touches gas. If I have to fight for my $143 back and my warranty honored, Im going to make sure the courts give their vehicle back to them.

All CC models are affected by this tire/alignment issue. Dealers and VW are not forthcoming about the actual problem. There is nothing wrong with the continental tires the vehicle comes with, they are wonderful tires and do not have any record of defects or recalls. The issue is the CC chassis. It is a front heavy car built on a completely different and unique chassis than the regular Passat. They obviously had issues getting the car to track correctly through corners using a standard stance and camber. So they widened the suspension stance and added negative camber in the front to achieve better grip with the heavy front end. (Even with the factory set up you can feel the front end wanting to float off in the opposite direction of the corner at higher speeds.) They did not make the camber adjustable in the front, only the rear is adjustable. This means that you can put any brand tires on, rotate and align as often as you want and you will still ruin your tires every 10,000 miles. So add another $1,000.00 per year for cost of ownership of this car. I am absolutely appalled that VW has made this their dirty little secret and just assume that their customers wont figure this out. Shame on you, VW.

Purchased low mileage 2011 Volkswagen CC. (39,000) Engine kept stalling, driven 100 yards and dies, several times over. Finally died on highway completely, and with no power steering, I rolled out of the mountains of Colorado. Rolled into 1st exit. Fuel pump control was replaced. Ran fine but now red power steering light on dash and no power steering. Into the dealer! Was told computer needs TSB update. (Reprogram the computer) $429.00 and two days! Got it home, next morning same thing, no power steering and the red power steering warning light on. Which means no power steering! When you try to turn a VW with electromechanical steering there is no comparison to anything save for the fact that your heart is in your throat and it is frighteningly hard.Back to the Dealer. Was told needs a new battery. Got a call after the new battery and was told it also needs a new Rack and pinion assembly. Total this time? $2300.00! The dealer in this case (O’Meara) helped immensely by warranting the Rack. I investigated this problem on the internet of course only to find that quite a few VW C.C. owners went through the same thing! Went through VW and a district manager and was told OUT OF WARRANTY! Period! My wife and I truly regret buying a VW. Now we drive it and think what’s next!

I re-titled my car from VA to IL in late 2019. After receiving my state transfer packet from VW, I called them before I went to the DMV and told them I thought I was missing a document in my packet. They assured me I had everything I needed. When I went to the DMV, they informed me I was missing a document that I told VW I needed earlier in the day. This caused a significant delay in re-titling. I had to pre-pay my taxes on the car for 2019. I submitted paperwork to VW showing that I had retitled the vehicle so I could receive a credit on the taxes I had already paid, and they told me I would have a resolution in 6-8 weeks. It has been almost 3 months and I have still not heard back on my status. Every time I call and talk to a customer service representative, they promise me they will get an answer by the end of the day and will call me back. I have yet to receive a call back. I have absolutely had it. Their agents do not care about making sure I receive the money I am due-I truly wonder if they are just holding on to the funds from the state of VA and not forwarding them on to me. Being a foreigner for over 4 years in the US, I had a hard time building credit, trying to get credit cards but banks never wanting to give them due to being on a US visa. So after I got denied several times years before I finally got financing on a Passat with $6000 down payment and a 14% interest rate and of course the salespeople at VW Santa Monica scamming me by making the price higher when we did the contract, from $17399 to suddenly $18956 or something including all the fees, so that I pay interest ON the fees as well (did not know better) paying $26.000 something on the car when paid off! So almost $9000 more than this crappy car is worth. Anyway, after paying on time for more than 1 year, I lost my job and fell behind with payments. I called a few times asking to refinance or lower the payments to no avail. Then fell behind 5 month and of course when I call they tell me car is in repo but they take the repo off if I pay at least 4 payments asap. I tell them I am overseas and need to have my US checks cleared through my bank which took 3-4 weeks over the Christmas holidays. So as soon as it cleared I send a money order via FedEx with 5 month worth of payments to get current. So I call 2 weeks later and they tell me I have to return the car as my account was closed. I am like, WHAT??? They told me on the phone if I pay 5 payments they will take off the repo and I can pay monthly via bank transfer from then on, and I call and they just canceled everything they said before and say Pay $14.000 - right now or bring the car back. I cannot believe it. They say, Contract says bla bla cancelled when in default, even after I agreed on the phone to pay them 5 payments and get current and DID pay them, they say, It was TOO LATE and now they want the total outstanding on the car within days or need the car back. What a ** company, the WORST liars and scammers out there! I paid up, she confirmed my payment but supposedly it was days too late. So now I dont know what to do, lose $26000, and the car, cannot drive to work without a car, still have to pay off the rest. Instead of working with us these scammers rather take your car and still have you pay off the rest because they is how they make money. NEVER VOLKSWAGEN AGAIN. Worst car company ever. I have a 2007 VW Jetta with 200,000 km. It has corrosion, to the point of holes in the metal, on all 4 wheel fenders, the rocker panel, and on the bottom of the drivers side door. When shopping for a vehicle I bought this car new and choose it over the Honda Civic. My fiances cousin currently has a 2004 Honda Civic with 300,000 km and absolutely no corrosion.VW Canada is not honoring the Corrosion Warranty because I cannot prove the corrosion was caused internally. They are claiming it is due to external factors, which is impossible to prove considering the location of the corrosion. When I called to request the claim be reassessed they refused to do so and VW Customer Care refused to let me speak with anyone that had the power to make the decision to have the corrosion claim reassessed.I definitely will not purchase another VW based on this experience and I would recommend to everyone I know as well that they consider other brands instead. Had VW honored the warranty I would feel differently, but they used an excuse to not honor it and apparently there is no way for me to speak to anyone involved in the decision. The VW Customer Care department is the only group you can speak to and they claim they have no power with these decisions and they are all final. Please note as well that this vehicle was bought and used in Alberta which is a very dry province where vehicle dont normally rust let alone corrode.

The entire purpose of a VIN # is make sure you get the exact part for your vehicle. However the website it not entirely accurate. I looked up a part for my vehicle (specifically) rear rotor and it gave me the size I needed. It didnt give me an option for more than one size, so that had to be the correct one. The problem was that the part size was completely incorrect. I only noticed the error after I went to install the part of course. I called customer care to state my issue twice and they just said that the information on their website are correct and that is the size I need. So I called my local dealer and they confirmed that the website was inaccurate. I called customer care back week later and this time they acknowledge that after speaking with the dealerships that the website was in fact incorrect.I had to order the part from an independent supplier because the website was giving me false information. They said that since I did not order from them they can not be liable for the information. I tried getting some type of compensation because I just wasted $120 on incorrect parts based on the info they gave me. They said that the website has a data contract on every page that states that the information on their website can be incorrect and subject to change. Keep in mind this is a 2011 vehicle so the information is no longer changing. Basically never use the parts VW website as a source or order parts from the website because the information can be incorrect and they will do nothing about it.

I have two vehicles through Volkswagen Credit. Both were brand new (Jetta and Passat). I loved the dealership and my experience buying my vehicles. My experience with Volkswagen Credit has been unsatisfactory to say the least. They have horrible customer care and have treated me like just another loan and not a person. They caused a huge amount of turmoil through my finances by double charging me on a payment due. They caused an NSF fee on my bank account due to double charging me. It took them 2 weeks to mail a check back to me for the double payment and were unapologetic. While speaking with multiple customer care staff members and mostly the supervisors, they were not helpful in resolving any problems. This is just one account of a few I have had with them. An addition to this, they mailed out my first payment AFTER it was due and was of little help when I called to explain the issues to them. After this new car is paid off, I WILL NEVER go through VW Credit again! They have made my car buying experience uneventful and unpleasant. I highly recommend a trusted bank/credit union. I will never be talked into going through them again.

Volkswagen Credit OVERCHARGED me, its employees LIED to me and now wont remove a wrongly-made derogatory mark on my credit report despite earlier promises that it would. I have a lease through Volkswagen Credit, which was until recently on automatic payment. A few months ago I noticed Volkswagen charged nearly $150 more than my typical payment. Volkswagen never communicated it would charge this additional amount, so this was a complete surprise.I contacted VW credit and did not hear back for several days. So, I disputed the portion that was above and beyond my usual payment with my bank. I again contacted VW in writing and did not hear back. My bank confirmed with me that they tried multiple times to contact VW credit to work things out, which is typical for a dispute case, but were unable to get a hold of anyone and eventually the dispute was authorized by default. The next month I receive a bill stating I was past due in the amount of the typical payment plus the mystery charge. VW credit had still not contacted me about this transaction despite repeated followup. Finally I get someone on the phone who explained what the extra charge was for (a tax on leased vehicles specific to my city, which gets passed on to the consumer once per year; she couldnt tell me why I hadnt received this extra charge in the 2 previous years of leasing the vehicle).I tell her I will go ahead and pay the past due lease amount, since I did not dispute the charge to begin with, and I will read the law regarding taxation on leased vehicles (This is not typical in my state but unbeknownst to me at the time a handful of cities tax leased cars). During this conversation the representative assured me that since I paid the past due amount it would not show up on my credit report, and I have until the lease ends to pay the additional charge for the tax. After researching the surprise tax charge, I pay it within 30 days of the conversation and several months before the lease is set to end. A couple of months pass and I find out that despite paying the past due amount and the additional surprise charge, there is a derogatory mark on my credit report. I send a message to VW credit explaining the situation and letting them know that I was told very specifically that my credit would not be damaged by what happened. They reply, in so many words, that they do not plan to revoke the derogatory mark and they dont care what their employee said. First the diesel scandal and now a confirmation that Volkswagen doesnt care about their customers or doing what they say theyll do. Stay away from this company.

08/10/2019 Volkswagen and Audi Poor REVIEWS, 2 Volkswagen products experiences at early miles, 57,000 to 62.494 2012 Audi A4 and 2014 Volkswagen GTI, known problems by Volkswagen. I had a 2012 Audi A4 with engine light that would come on after 56,000 miles. I brought it in to 3 dealerships in Louisiana. They would tell me they didn’t understand because diagnostics says car is running smoothly. I told them, That’s fine if it’s running smoothly, but selling a car with an engine light is a loss for me, because who wants to buy a car with an engine light. They all said, It must be something intermittent. Lafayette, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA. I finally brought it to a dealership in Orlando Florida. I told them to impress me. Audi was good for a next car by fixing my issue. They said, Give us a few days to work on. I did. They charged $989. It was good for 2 months and light back on. Sold that vehicle. The problem was an intermittent overproduction of fuel that no one could fix for good.2014 Volkswagen GTI, guess what, light came on on this one at same mileage, 57,000 to 62,494. I read up on the engine light regarding P2015 code, which is an intake manifold problem, that Volkswagen recognized as a problem, but instead of recalling, they decided to extend warranty to 120,000 miles, but only as a lottery picking of VIN numbers, so if your VIN wasn’t on list, and you had the same problem, you had to pay for this poor quality intake manifold problem. They would clean if only cleaning, $1200. If it involved the worse case, it took changing manifold, of which that would be, needless to say, much more, mind you at 60,000 miles this expensive cost. So yeah, look forward to this much expenses at this early in the life of the vehicle. So one thing is knowing Volkswagen recognized the problem, but treated fix as only some would qualify for extended warranty, and if you experience problem and your VIN wasn’t on list you have to pay. You call Volkswagen Headquarters or customer care, because if there is a problem, and manufacturer is willing to work with you and understand extenuating circumstances, explaining you had two of their products, and they make things good and go the distance, then that’s good, because all you want is a fix/corrective action; however, when you speak to dealership and report to headquarters, and all they want to quote to you is that it’s out of their hands, that your car’s VIN # is not lucky enough to be on the list (lottery/pot luck), ... so you’re stuck with a young car with enormous expenses, after the expensive purchase was not long ago.Yes, bad vehicles of Volkswagen, 2012 Audi A4, and 2014 Volkswagen GTI, both at range of 56,000 to 62,494 miles, you are left up the creek without a paddle and large loss of money. One never was fixed and had to sell at lesser amount because of engine light no one could do anything about. The other is just extreme expense for cleaning or replacement of intake manifold that company recognizes problems, but handles whether warranty is extended or not based on whether your car’s VIN was included, like on a lottery. Thank you. Dwayne **.

Really not happy! I have received a notification from the DMV that I will not be able to register my 2012 Golf unless I provide a certificate with proof of airbag correction. It states that I should contact my local dealer for a free repair and gives a phone number to call if problems occur 1-800-242-4450. Well the dealer acts as if its not their problem and the operator on the 1-800 help line says he has never heard of this!!! I was instructed to ask the DMV what I should do!!! Really!?! I paid $30,000 for a 2012 Diesel Golf that now has an airbag that can kill me and a total fraud in the emissions category!! I have no faith that VW will make good. So very disappointed. I will never buy a VW again.

2015 VW Golf - After receiving the safely recall in the mail, I spoke (after many times trying) with service at the dealer I bought the car from. I have not even reached 10,000, my first oil change. They told me to wait until then, and I was fine. Two days ago, a light came on saying that my gas cap wasnt on.....okay. That message went off, but today my engine light is on. I bought this car in September of this year, brand new, and already this is happening. Things do happen, but when I called with the concern that I might die in a car fire (leak could cause this according to the recall) they couldnt get me in until next Monday. Annoyed, I called back and suggested I drop off my car and take a loaner. Nope.... Customer service is terrible so far, at least at my dealership. On top of this, a car wash knocked off the drivers side back of my side view mirror, and a plastic runner on the seat already broke off. Im completely disappointed, despite the quick handling and nice interior. I just needed to vent.

I turned in my 2015 TDI diesel sportwagen on December 30, 2016 to Santa Monica Volkswagen. On a car which had real aftermarket depreciation, as it was an in-demand car recalled two months after I bought it, I was given $10k less than purchase price, and they did not factor in the ($1,500) upgrades I added on (custom light package, mats). I received my paltry settlement three days later - however, Volkswagen of America has NOT paid VW credit. I am not getting charged late fees for a car I no longer own. Both VW credit and the CSR at VW Claims recommend I make the car payment that was due on 12/31. When I met face to face with my ambassador who helped with the paperwork, he told me all fees would be settled immediately - so why would I not believe them??? Was considering an AllTrack - glad I passed, as I want nothing to do with VW ever again. I called VW corporate and they apologized. As if that matters.

Extended Warranty. I purchased a 2010 Volkswagen Passat with an in-service date of 10-18-10 (warranty coverage begins). After being a loyal customer for 10 years, the company refuses to cover an P2015 Intake Manifold Runner Sensor Engine issue covered by an extended warranty if the vehicle is 120K miles or less and within the 10-year warranty. My engine light alerted me on 10-23-20. So, over the weekend I had the codes ran at AutoZone which identified the problem. On Monday 10-26-20 I called my local dealer and they informed me of the extended warranty stating I was merely 6 business days outside of the 10 year requirement but well under mileage at 92K. They suggested I call VW corporate to get this approved. I spoke with a very nice lady and then her boss and despite their professionalism, they refuse to work with me to help get this fixed. They said they simply cannot go beyond the 10 years even if it is a few days and mileage is well under. This is a VW part issue, not something user caused. Needless to say, this leaves a very bad taste in my mouth that rigidity and greed come before flexibility & doing what is right, especially during these times. This organization seems to lack compassion and the know-how of retaining long term loyal customers relationships & viewing each situation and customer as valuable.

I purchased a 2010 CC from the Volkswagen Santa Cruz dealership in July of 2013. In August, 3 months after I purchased the vehicle, the entire transmission needed to be replaced because the vehicle wasnt shifting through gears properly. My CC would just die if I hit 40+ mph on the freeway. I had to turn the car off and on several times on the freeway to get to the dealership, totally unsafe and scary to be driving a vehicle at that speed on the freeway that can stop at any given time. VW covered the transmission issue because the car was under warranty but since then Ive had several more issues. Headlight and taillight (twice), intake valves needed to be cleaned, all 4 tires have needed to be replaced, and the latest has been a timing belt issue that has caused major engine damage at 70,000 miles. The cars warranty expired 3 months ago. VW HQ has offered to cover the cost of parts but not labor ($3,100).I am a student who works part time and has an inoperable vehicle with 70k miles on it and $9,000 left to pay on it. No idea what Im going to. This is obviously a flaw on the car maker but I am most likely going to be one that suffers from it. I highly discourage anyone from buying a Volkswagen. I cannot recommend them in good faith to anyone and I hope that I can wash my hands clean of this vehicle without too big of a loss. Edit - After going back and forth with VW Customer Care and the dealership several times, I was able to talk them down to $2400. I told them that all I could afford is $1000. They say they will do the repairs for $1595 and that is their lowest offer. The repair estimate they sent me is amazing to look at. The total cost for labor and repair was $7,856.45. How could all of these parts have broken 3 months after the warranty expired?

In addition to feeling robbed every time we took the car in for service, we have now been waiting since early last November for our settlement from the diesel gate thing. We were initially told that Volkswagen had 20 business days to review our paperwork. That took 3 months. Then we were told once we received our final offer it would only take a couple of days to get an appointment to do the buyback thing. The earliest appointment we can get is the end of March. Meanwhile, we get penalized for the mileage we put on the car (my wife is in sales so its considerably more than the 12,500 per year limit). I have many other complaints about the car, the company, and the dealership, but they echo so many other reviews here I wont bother. Before you purchase a Volkswagen please consider how ethically bankrupt the company is and ask yourself if you really want to do business with them.

I bought brand new Volkswagen 2010 from dealership in Kansas City. It was serviced regularly by the VW dealers. One evening, I came back from the work, parked the car in my driveway and next morning, the car would not start. I towed the car to the service center at the dealership and they say it needs a new motor. A 74K mile Volkswagen needs a new motor. I asked the reason and the service manager says oil level was low in the car and the car if out of the warranty now. This car was service by VW dealer in Lees Summit before 3 months of the breakdown, its Check Engine indicator never got turned on, the car does not consume oil and all of a sudden the engine failed. The service center says they serviced the car properly, dealership says its out of manufacturers warranty and I am stuck with this expense of $11000. The car does not have a single dent on its body, its trim, interior is all like a new car but the engine is bad. After spending enormous time talking to the dealership, service center, VW area manager, district manager and all, we concluded that this is the last Volkswagen in my life. And me and my entire family has become a great anti-Volkswagen advocate. Absolutely shameless managers, irresponsible service center and liar manufacturer. We advise all the readers to avoid buying any product of Volkswagen. Buy it if you want to throw away your hard earned money in drain.

Recently, I bought a used 2008 VW Rabbit from a private party. 2013-14 was my first winter with the Rabbit. Until my ownership the Rabbit had been garage kept. Turns out there is a VW design flaw. VW acknowledges how to repair the issue, however does not acknowledge there is a problem. Therefore, offers no recourse to accommodate VW Rabbit owners. How is this possible? How is this denial helpful? Snow and ice build up in the door jambs, over long winter months. The simple action of opening a door is meet with resistance when snow and ice accumulate due to poor drainage. The lower front corners of the doors bend out. In addition, the paint cracks and peels. Thus, rendering a well maintained VW Rabbit blemished and susceptible to rust.As the dealership nearest to my home, I had every intention of having the vehicle serviced at New Motors Volkswagen. So, I brought The VW Rabbit in for advice. I found them all too willing to shrug off the issues I am having by averting the lack of accountability and blame off on corporate, with the customary response, This is out of our hands. Indeed, it is a corporate matter - all the same it is a product they sell, they service and subsequently endorse. It would have gone a long way with me and my overall perception of Volkswagen had they shown genuine concern and support. Local dealerships are the corporate cornerstone in each community. The lack of aid, comfort and cooperation exhibited by this Volkswagen dealership is indicative of the exact type of behavior we can expect from Volkswagen Corporate themselves. Ultimately, the dealership apple doesnt fall far from the corporate tree. Clearly, Volkswagen has no consideration for the consumers of their products - why wouldnt their dealerships embrace the same cold policies?Understanding I am not the original owner, understanding the so-called warranty has expired and understanding the vehicle has been introduced to weather conditions and storage conditions it has not faced in its previous years, should I, the consumer who entrusted my savings, my earnings and my faith in the Volkswagen product, be left out in the cold? It appears that is exactly what Volkswagen Corporate and its fledgling dealerships are doing. Taking advantage of hardworking people such as myself, who are too small to contest the mighty corporate injustices of Volkswagen. Volkswagen is treating myself and every one of its consumers as simple-minded prey by selling inferior products without certitude and without aegis. Volkswagen will NOT take responsibility or offer any assistance.Unlike Volkswagen, I can admit when I have made a mistake. By purchasing my 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, I have certainly displayed an egregious lapse in judgement. Without a doubt, Volkswagen is not a company driven by consumer satisfaction, or superior products, but rather a company driven by bottom line profit margins. Thank you Volkswagen for correcting me.

I purchased a used (one owner) 2012 VW Eos less than a year ago and have put 12K miles on it. At my first oil change 4 months ago (apparently you can go 10K between changes) my husband noticed an oil leak. I took it to a VW dealer since it has a 60K powertrain warranty still in effect, who proceeds to tell me that my timing chain cover gasket is leaking and warranty does not cover it. I called corporate in Michigan who tells me that all gaskets are covered but I need a certified VW tech to diagnose my car. I proceed to tell him that it is at the dealer as we speak and they say it is not covered. The corporate office informs me that their techs are their eyes and ears and they have to believe them. So now my car, which has less than 44K miles with an oil leak is not covered and I need to pay the diagnosis fee plus parts and labor. They offer no loaner car and only provide transportation up to 10 miles (I live 20 miles away). I researched this car for 3 1/2 years before I purchased it and shopped at a VW dealer for this car but was turned away because the salesman thought I couldnt afford their precious base model EOS which is not what I wanted (I wanted the LUX model). I work very hard and I made $88K last year and have a credit score of 894 - dont tell me what I can and cannot afford! I wound up purchasing my car the same day from a Hyundai dealer less than a mile away and their service has been extraordinary! Because of VWs service and the way they talk to individuals is deplorable and because of this I will trade my car (that I love) for something I do not care for just to get the outstanding service that consumers truly deserve.

Last night, my husband and I went to Ford to trade in our leased VW CC for a new car. The lease was supposed to be up in May. I was quoted a payoff amount of $15,500 by VW. The deal with Ford was made late at night when VW Credit was already closed. Ford agreed to pay off the lease, and we made the deal with the new car. The purchase with Ford was very easy and smooth.Ford called VW this morning to confirm the payoff amount, and VW added an additional $2000! Apparently, the 6 payments that were supposed to be due until the end of the lease, which was supposed to be in May, were not included in the payoff amount. How can that make sense? Payoff means final amount to completely pay off a car. So we had to pay an additional $2000 because VW Credit gave us the wrong payoff amount. Then they changed their story and said its a termination fee. $2000 termination fee? Are they serious? Never again will we ever return to VW for any future cars. They just lost 2 loyal clients due to their cheapness and carelessness!

I gave a 2016 VW CC. Clock spring failed. Paid $187 for the diagnostic. They didn’t have the part. Have been waiting for days for courtesy of help regarding whether my car, which was not in the recall nor part of this extended warranty could be looked into as I’m not believing it’s a coincidence. Their final answer is no. They won’t pay. Ironically, as I was waiting the 10 days it took for the service appointment and I found out my car IS part of the Takata airbag. VW doesn’t have the part. Refuses to offer a loaner. When I kept asking the supervisor who finally had the courtesy of a call back from that I was able to take (they won’t t schedule calls and they wont allow you to hold, so ridiculous) anyway, when I asked if VW recommends I drive the car with the Takata airbag, as you may guess the automaton refused to answer. So VW us unwilling to say, Sure drive the car, they are unwilling to say don’t drive the car. When confronted with the fact that other carmakers (Ford for example) are offering loaners -- they note this is true and have no further comment. When asked if they even acknowledge that these other companies care more about their consumer -- you guessed it. They also don’t value your intelligence and continue to smugly we’ve you a ** sandwich and absolve themselves of any need to act with human decency. Anyway sorry for the ramble here is my question on clock spring: Can anyone confirm the maker on the clock spring? I have obtained the info for the one that prompted the recall, but because the extended warranty is voluntary (and a way to skirt a larger recall, but this issue is still under investigation by the NHTSA), they refuse to give me the manufacturer. The VINs involved are not sequential, so I asked for the volume of cars involved in the extended warranty, they refuse to tell me. The supervisor actually waxed on about how important it is for VW to protect its component manufacturers. Glad they have their priorities in place. Anyone who can help me with information which will bolster the case have both with the NHTSA, I would appreciate. Regarding the Takata I’ve taken my complaint to my local congressperson, because I have a huge issue with the weird, unprecedented say. The NHTSA rolled the Takata recall out despite having the information that millions of cars should have been recalled instead they held off on the recall seemingly at the behest of auto manufacturers who were overwhelmed with the volume of recalls. Perhaps the automakers should fund the NHTSA who is supposed to be a public servant entity to protect the safety of Americans who they are (supposed to be) beholden to — not the financial interest of automakers. I’m actually surprised more people aren’t outraged but possibly they don’t know that the NHTSA chose to hold this information back even though they knew all of these recalls would happen eventually. There are still cars out there now that haven’t been recalled that will be recalled and that the NHTSA is withholding the information and it’s ridiculous.

They denied my warranty coverage saying that the tune did this (which is a lie and failed to prove this with testing). I feel like this is another scam like the diesel issue.

Ive owned 5-6 new VW TDI Golf/Jettas; and thoroughly enjoyed them. The most recent purchase was a 2015 Golf TDI. The dealership has been more than helpful and accommodating through the approved update process and 2 stages have been completed. The final stage of the repairs was scheduled days ago; and when I dropped off the vehicle service needed a claim number. Please excuse my filing system, but I did not have the claim number. The dealership, which I love, and has always treated me like a king, could not do the repairs, or, provide me with the claim number. In conversation I learned VW does not trust their dealers, (yes, the people that support their employment). I talked with VW corporate for the TDI issue (VW Lying), and am getting nowhere. I Seriously hate to admit it, but I guess Ill become a Ford person. What an unbelievable, and very sad story. BUT... IT IS THE TRUTH.

We have 2 VW Diesel TDIs and we have been corresponding with VW for 3 months about both the buyback and the modification. We got the final approval letter for the modification back very quickly but once you call to schedule an appointment at the dealership, they say that the modification hasnt even been developed yet and they give you 1/3 of the money they owe but not until a modification has been APPROVED which could be several months and then you get the other 2/3 of the money once it is installed. A TOTAL SCAM!We then decided that they is so scandalous that we dont either one of our VWs anymore so we called and said we changed our mind and want to turn in both VWs. Of course when we call, they say the final offer has been approved for the buyback and we should get an email in our portal any day. That was a month ago... In the meantime, we still have to pay the payments and VW is still making money off us. Something needs to be done. The customer service agents are clueless. VERY ANGRY... I will never buy a VW again.

2011 Golf GTI with 110,000 miles. Entire intake replaced at 96,000 miles. Known issue with VW. Customer care refused to help. Now, at 110,000 miles, the hydraulic timing chain tensioner slipped causing the need to completely replace the engine for approx. $5,500. VW customer care, again did nothing. Just a heads-up to anyone interested in a Volkswagen group product, these engines are in many vehicles and have major issues.

Let me first say that I love my 2013 Beetle turbo. It is great in all the aspects except one, in my mind, MAJOR design flaw. I have addressed this issue several times at the dealership, but no help was available. It relates to the keyless start. In general I dont see the benefit of this feature. Is it really that hard to use the key to start your car? I didnt think so. Anyway, if you turn on your Beetle, say to cool it off in the summer time before driving to the beach and wait for the A/C to cool down indoors, there is a chance that you may have the key in your hand. And while the car is cooling down, you just may unknowingly hang the key on the hook in your house. You then take the beach towels and a cooler, lock your house and sit in your comfortably cooled beetle and head for the beach. You drive 80 miles and you figure out that you need to buy gas. You shut off your Beetle, pump the gas, pay for it, sit back at the wheel, press the start button. KEY NOT IN RANGE!!!!!!! This is a true story, and I know other people that this has happened to (maybe they were not 80 miles away from the key hanging on the hook at home, but you get the picture). I will never understand how they made such an oversight. And why are they not recalling the cars to fix them? If you have a Beetle with the start button, beware of this. It can be dangerous.

Im very frustrated at the fact that Im driving a car that has a potential safety issue and I usually have my 5 yr and 13 month old children with me. I bought the VW Tiguan because it was rated #1 for safety when my older child was 1 yr old. My car has had many problems and have spent 1000s of dollars in repair. But what has got me furious is the fact that on the morning of Friday July 25 2014. As I was leaving my parents house from dropping my kids and getting ready to go to work I started my car but the Power steering was gone completely. The Tiguan started and I could drive forward and back but the steering wheel did not move at all as if it was locked but it was not and the power steering failure light came on in the dashboard. The Tiguan is almost 4 yrs old and about 73 thousand miles on it. But I do not think age is the issue with this problem, its just a design flaw from VW.This problem has me very concern because what if I was driving on the freeway and the power steering failed then? I could only imagine what could have happen. What if my children were with me? This problem is unacceptable, inexcusable and life threatening. This is a very serious safety issue with the Tiguan. My Tiguan was towed to a VW dealerships car shop and they told me there that they never heard of such problem with the Tiguan models. I search on the web and it turns out there are several hundreds 2009-2011 VW Tiguans owners that have had that same problem, and to fix the Tiguan would be $2,045 dollars. The service rep suggested I call VW customer service. I did call and they were very nice and told me that they were going to see if they could help me with the repair. Next day I get a call from them and told me that they were not going to do anything about it because my Tiguan had more than 70,000 miles and was way out of warranty. This power steering problem has nothing to do with the Tiguans age. Other people that have had this exact same experience and only had their Tiguan for 2 months with 1,800 miles on and the problem keeps reoccurring! Warranty or no warranty this is a design flaw and should be covered by VW. Also in my opinion this is an issue worth a major recall but so far VW seems to be waiting for the first deaths to occur before they will react. There is always possibility that in traffic, the power steering really could go any moment.Something should be done about it before an innocent family dies!!! Help!!!! In the meantime I will tell my story in the social media to people in the news if I can, in the radio if I can, report it to BBB, and make consumer reports anywhere I can!! etc. I am now very scared to be driving the Tiguan. Its not safe and I dont feel safe! Other people with the same problem have had the problem reoccurring after being fixed. VW has lost a loyal customer forever!!

My car gets decent MPG but the inferior quality of the car more than cancels out any savings I may have had on fuel. Oct 2012 - The fuel pump imploded. $6,600 worth of damage. Aug 2013 - EGR valve = bad. Had to be replaced. $709.53 out of pocket. Sept 2013 - Diesel particulate filter = bad. Had to be replaced. EGR valve had to be replaced AGAIN. $1,714.80 out of pocket. Apr 2014 - Car in limp mode. Turbo = bad. $1,689.94 out of pocket. July 2014 - Diesel particulate filter bad AGAIN. EGR valve bad for a 3rd time in 12 months. Estimate $2,200 out of pocket. August 2014 - Air Condition stopped working. Estimate $1,700 out of pocket.

After an oil change a few years ago, my 2000 VW Passats stop engine light came on. I immediately pulled over and turned off the car. We had the car towed to the dealer, where they diagnosed it as needing a new oil pump due to the sludge problem. There was no class action lawsuit at that time. When we were later notified of the lawsuit, we submitted the paperwork with all of the maintenance records. VW still did not pay. They took all of the info and said that they needed more because the VW dealer did not indicate on the repair bill that the problem was due to sludge. I wrote and also verbally told the people handling the class action suit that the dealer had told me that it was due to sludge, but that did not seem to matter. This is all bogus. Although I really love the car, I will not ever buy another VW seeing as this is how they do business. I am disgusted by this experience.

I come from a family of people that buy and purchase VWs. So naturally I bought one. However, I have had issues with my 2009 VW GTI (purchased brand new) since the start. When I first purchased my VW, there was a fuel issue, and they replaced it. Then there was a filter that stunk like mold, they replaced it. Then there was a recall on part of my transmission, they replaced it. My car started hesitating on the freeway when I accelerated, right after the recall replacement. I should have known by this time that the car needed to be traded, but I was stupid. I thought its a VW, they are great cars and so much fun to drive! Everything at this point got even worse. My battery died, or so I thought. I took it to VW and they told me that I needed a new computer. Somehow, insurance covered this and I ONLY had to pay my $500 deductible. I informed them that my car kept hesitating on the freeway. They said to drive it a certain amount of miles and it should reset. I did, and it didnt reset. After a few weeks, I took it back to the dealership. They said I need a new valve that was several hundred dollars. I called VW of America and they offered to pay for half, since it was a defect. Several weeks went by and the car started doing the same thing again. I took it back to the dealership they said its a valve that needs to be replaced. They covered the cost of the valve because it was part of the original issue. I picked it up. The next day, the engine light went off again, and the car was still hesitating. After several days, I called the dealership. They told me it was bad gas and to refuel it and drive around. I did this. After several days, I again took the car back to the dealership. This time, they said it was another valve, and they replaced it. They also told me that if the engine code came on again that they would have to replace the turbo. So now they are telling me that I need a new turbo and have to pay $2200.00. Everything else they were willing to cover because it was part of the covered recall issue, but now that its $2200.00 I have to pay for it. I called VW of America to see if they could help. The woman said that they arent going to pay for it and that its not their responsibility. I said, Thats funny because you knew it was your responsibility up until it was $2200.00. She told me that is her final decision, there was no one above her and thats it. I now have a car that needs new turbo... I am beyond upset and will never buy or drive a VW again! I am trying to sell my piece of crap because I cant even look at it with getting pissed off. The woman by the way did offer me a $750 credit towards a new VW. I have to admit I was speechless. She was willing to give me $750 towards a new car, but not towards my problem that I called about???? Thats ridiculous.

If a car is out of warranty by less than 30 days, is there a channel to go
If a car is out of warranty by less than 30 days, is there a channel to go through that promotes good will between the customer and VW? If a goodwill gesture is not possible, I have a question regarding the number of defects required for a recall? When a part failure occurs out of warranty, what recourse does your customer have? How does one go through the appropriate channels to ensure the customers complaint is followed up on? What documentation does the company have on the failure rate of the part in question? The reason I ask is, the driver side headlamp assembly (Produced by Hella) in my 2008 VW City Jetta stopped working. The part number for the head lamp assembly is 1JM-941-015-D. My best estimation is that there were approximately 4,400 - 4600 2008 VW City Jetta manufactured for the Canadian market. Note Sales volumes of City Jetta for the period 2007 - 2009 2007 City Jetta Sales Volume = 4449 2008 City Jetta Sales Volume = 4640 2009 all City models Sales Volume = 8421**Assumed 50/50 Split between City Jetta and City Golf in 2009Note that the 2008 City Jetta was only sold in Canada. Therefore the units that have required similar repairs to this point may not indicate that there is an issues and could theoretically could be viewed as statistically insignificant. A few things to consider, this is the only car that the headlamp assembly was manufactured for. It is not a common part that can be found on either the 2007 or the 2009 VW City Jetta, nor on the regular Jetta that was sold anywhere else around the world. Thus limiting the amount of data on the headlight assembly itself. The car in question has approximately 80,000 Kms on it. This indicates there was not an above average amount of use. Additionally, it has not been in a car accident and all parts are original equipment, including the bulb which was installed by VW of Windsor. The connecting wires between the head lamp and the socket melted, as stated by the VW of Windsor technician. I do not believe that this should occur under normal wear and tear on a car. The two VWs that I owned previously did not have this issue, nor was it encountered on any other vehicle that I have owned.Lastly, this part is not readily available to the public, because it was not used in any other vehicle. This makes the repair approximately $900. I have tried to find the part through other means and other repair facilities and was unsuccessful, because the part is so rare. If someone could please give me a call back to discuss my concerns it would be greatly appreciated.

I bought an Amarok and only had the privilege of a weeks drive when my clutch broke. I have been phoning and trying to get action for 3 weeks without any results. My husband and I have a contractors business so we drive a lot between sites. There were very long and meaningless explanations as to why they couldnt help us with another vehicle. The worst of all is the lack of communication. Not a single person in the dealership knows when their vehicle part will arrive and nobody is letting us know whats going on. If you ask for a date and time, the person will react by saying they dont want to pin on a direct date because they dont want to be held responsible. Come on, this is Volkswagen, a big firm not a one-man roadshow. There is a total lack of professionalism.

VW passat 2009 - I have seen many posts written about the tire cupping issue and was wondering if anyone had heard any explanations. I was told that the TDI and non diesel Passat have the same chassis, and this is the reason for the cupping. The suspension system should not be the same for the diesel as the non diesel due to the weight difference. Now, along with the FOURTH set of tires Im needing you buy (51000) I have learned two wheels have a crack on inner side which is causing tires to leak. Anyone else experience this?? I have never been in an accident nor have I hit any gigantic potholes! Also having issues with the brakes... After four years of dealing with Volkswagen customer service I have made my mind up to never buy another! I like my 2010 Jetta TDI Sportswagen - its a nice car to drive and get decent fuel mileage. I have dealt with two different dealerships on various issues, and feel their service representatives are very poorly trained. Can you imagine one of them telling me that my spark plugs needed replacement - on a diesel, there are no spark plugs! Or a labor charge of $90.00 to replace the rear window wiper. The wiper itself cost $16.00 as a separate charge. This car has never been touched by anyone but VW dealers, and they stripped the oil pans drain plug out?? Then blamed it on me because I have the cars oil changed too frequently??The latest issue was an engine trouble light. They charged me $99.99 just to read the problem, then tell me the problem is your glow plug is bad. Diesel engine will not start without an active glow plug. I feel I am being ripped off. And when I total all the charges, I realize I would have been better off financially driving another vehicle with half the fuel economy. Today I got an answer back from corporate that they took my complaint and passed it on to the dealer -- whats wrong with this picture??? Before you invest in any Volkswagen product, consider their poor, and very expensive service work, and no help from the manufacturer. Customer Service Counts!!!

I contacted VW Roadside Service for assistance and spoke with a customer service representative (CSR) named Tammy. She told me that Roadside Service did not change tires. She did not listened to the information that I gave her and she kept telling me this does not work speaking about my credit card when that was incorrect. There was nothing wrong with my credit card. If she had listened to me she would have gotten it right the first time.My husband and I have purchased several vehicles from VW over the years and I am very disappointed and angry at the treatment I received when I was in need of HELP.
