Toyota Says Dont Rule Out Land Cruiser Coming To America

Big things are happening in the world of large Toyota vehicles. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia just dropped, replacing a 15-year-old model that desperately needed an update. This new Sequoia rides on the same TNGA-F architecture that underpins the Tundra pickup truck, as well as the 2022 Lexus LX and Toyota Land Cruiser (the latter of which will not be sold in the US market). Or will it?rnCarBuzz recently attended the drive event for the new LX and a reveal event for the Sequoia; in both instances, the topic of discussion kept being directed towards the Land Cruiser's absence from the US market. Though Toyota quickly came out to confirm the 300 Series Land Cruiser won't come to the US, that stance could already be wavering.rnSpeaking anonymously at the event, a Toyota spokesperson told us, "don't be so quick to rule out the Land Cruiser. We obviously haven't made any announcements yet [regarding Land Cruiser], but we are listening strongly to customer feedback." Lexus' attitude towards the Land Cruiser felt like a stark contrast. At the LX drive event in New Mexico, Lexus spokespeople told CarBuzz they expect "Land Cruiser orphans" to migrate towards the LX 600 Premium trim level. This model starts at $96,345 and offers a $1,295 appearance package that enables buyers to select no-cost 18-inch wheels. With smaller wheels and more sidewall, the LX is theoretically a better off-roader, like the Land Cruiser.rnIf you can live with the base LX, the $88,245 starting price isn't much higher than the outgoing Land Cruiser's $85,665 MSRP, so we can see why Toyota didn't feel the need to offer both in the US, where volumes for both models are low. Having just revealed the new Sequoia with a rugged TRD Pro trim, most of the Toyota spokespeople felt confident this model would appeal to former and current Land Cruiser customers. But while the TRD Pro Sequoia looks like a fine off-roader for families, the approach and departure angles are still lacking compared to the Land Cruiser (we will have to wait for official specs). Even if Toyota wouldn't sell many Land Cruisers in the US market, we've seen stranger things happen based on customer demand.rnThe Sequoia may not be the perfect Land Cruiser replacement, but between it and the new LX, there's a lot to get excited about from Toyota and Lexus. If Toyota does ultimately decide to bring the Land Cruiser stateside, it shouldn't be too complicated since it shares a platform and engine with the LX. Just some badging changes are necessary.

I had a GS 400 and loved it. Best car ever. Even beat my Jetta. Its about the suspension when it comes to a Lexus. I love 4 door Lexus ES. Luxury and sweetest cars ever. You can tell what year each one is from the back lights. Same style made for so many years. It sold cause it is very nice. It has different sensors and buttons for your passenger. You can have the AC while they have theirs on whatever they want. Amazing cars. All around.

I bought my Lexus at Butler South Atlanta. On the very first day, July 3rd 2017, that I received my new Lexus, there a major problem by the time it was driven 152 miles (very first day of having my car). The car went into limp mode, not being able to exceed 25MPH. This was alarming to me since this was suppose to be a new car. I was shocked to know a check engine light came on and the car would not go past 25 MPH. When it was taken into the dealership, the mechanic cleared the codes and said it was suppose to be fine. A few days later, I noticed a very loud knocking sound (Clack, Clack, Clack) coming from the engine. It sounded terrible, much like an old truck that has several hundred thousand miles on it. The sound even began growing in intensity. When I took it to the dealership (2nd visit in less than 15 days), I was told by the service advisor that this was normal. I was shocked to hear this diagnostic. I left but each day the sound kept growing louder. Eventually, I took it back. 2 weeks later (3rd visit in about 30 days), this time I requested that someone else looked at the car so a supervisor came out. He immediately said that the car needed to be taken in. I was very frustrated since I had not been able to enjoy my new car which is suppose to be a reliable brand. At the dealership, the engine of the car was stripped to get to the problem. After 9 days of having my car at Lexus, I was told that the work was completed. I was informed that there was damage to the cylinders and a block assembly was replaced. The cost of this repair was more than $10,000. Here was a new car with less than 700 miles with damage to it costing more than $10,000. This repair, however, was covered under the existing warranty. When I contacted Lexus customer satisfaction about the issue, I was told that there was nothing they could do since they already honored the warranty by repairing the car. The case manager, Amie, was hostile to me, and further offered no solution or attempt to please a dissatisfied customer. I requested to speak to her supervisor who called me two days later and demonstrated a poor ability to listen, always demanding that he be listened to. I am shocked that Lexus employs people for customer satisfaction who treat customers in such a pejorative manner. These people are giving Lexus and Peggy Turner a poor brand image. The supervisor, Mike, told me all they could do is offer me a two-time credit for services. Really? A new car with problems from the very first day of ownership and which has caused me much distress and frustration. From the moment I saw the $10,000 cost of repair for this new car, I was immediately troubled and wanted a mutually agreeable solution. To date, Lexus has refused to offer me a reasonable solution for a Lemon car that I bought. On July 3 when I got my car, I was planning an out of town trip with my family for July 4th but the trip was cancelled because of problem with the lemon RX350. This experience especially having to deal with a non-customer satisfaction office, has left me with nothing but a nightmare and a car that I dont know what is the next problem that will occur. Ill post pics of the car and the $10,000 plus bill to social media to sensitize people so they can make a determination whether they really want to purchase a car from a brand that is insensitive to customer needs. PS. Two weeks ago I sent an email to the GM at the dealership from where I bought the Lexus and he refused to display the common courtesy of giving me a response.

I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is refusing to remedy. I have written a letter in an appeal to Lexus to correct a dangerous engineering and design flaw. I have also spoken to the dealership (to no avail) and the department specialist of customer service at Lexus. He assured me that he has taken my concerns to the appropriate managers at Lexus headquarters (this essentially means that they arent willing to acknowledge or correct the issue). At first, I believed the problem was just an irritating inconvenience. The other night, I have discovered that it is a major safety hazard. I have a 2006 IS 350 whose computer touch screen navigation system has stopped working. This is obviously a major inconvenience as it is not just the navigation that doesnt work, it is also the air conditioning controls, the heating controls, the radio controls, the CD/MP3 player, the computer settings and the rear view camera! All of the radio presets were erased without any way to reset them. There is no way to adjust the fan settings for the a/c or heater, I can no longer adjust the base/treble/fade, the backup camera only works 10% of the time and of course, the navigation system is completely non-functional. As the car is only 5 years old and supposedly, a precision, luxury vehicle, one would not expect such major malfunctions affecting multiple systems. Unfortunately, for some reason, they designed all of these systems to be dependent on the navigation computer.I first contacted the company about this issue over the summer and did not receive a satisfactory remedy. I was essentially told that because so many of the computers were having problems, the company was offering to pay of the cost of the replacement part (but not the labor). Indeed, when I explored the issue on the internet, I found hundreds of posts about this problem and other navigation system issues! Given that the company was not willing to replace the defective screen, I would still have to pay over $1200 to $1500 to cover the cost of repair. Like many people, I do not have that amount of money to spend on an engineering mistake. In addition, I feel that it is wrong to ask the consumer to pay to fix something that is obviously flawed and not a result of owner misuse or wear and tear. Frankly, I had much higher expectations of Lexus and was dismayed and disappointed that the company was offering such a paltry remedy for such a major issue! This is an exasperating design flaw and definitely tainted my opinion of the quality of the Lexus product, warranty and customer service. However, I did not realize that this system failure was dangerous until the night of the 18th. Over the last week, the screen has started flashing as the system is trying to load. This is annoying and somewhat distracting in the daylight. However, when the screen flashed a very bright light that night as I was making a left turn at a busy intersection, I almost had an accident. Startled by the sudden light and thinking that the bright flash was the headlights of an oncoming car, I inadvertently swerved into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by two other cars.I implored Lexus to issue a safety recall for this problem and replace all of the touch screen systems that have malfunctioned before a tragic accident is caused. Although I realize the cost of replacing these systems is a significant consideration, it will be a small price to pay compared to the bad publicity, loss of consumer confidence, reduction of sales and not to mention, loss of human life that will occur if the issue is not rectified, and if the company does not react responsibly and proactively. Their response to my appeal was to offer the same remedy as last summer, 50% off of the component cost with no willingness to issue a recall or investigate the issue further.I have covered the screen with a piece of cardboard so that it cant happen to me again, but I worry about other people who may be unaware that this can happen. Especially since there were many reports online of Lexus owners who were having trouble with their navigation systems. I was very lucky to escape injury.

I just leased my sixth Lexus and I regret it! I dont care how great it drives because the music sound system is the WORSE. The rear speaker has NO SOUND coming from it at all. When you drive the only speaker that sound comes from is the front speaker. God forbid you increase the volume, the sound blasts at you so loud that it is torture to drive in the car. There is nothing Lexus service can do. Its their new sound system. It is torture! Not only that, my business only uses Blackberry phones and the new 2019 Lexus only works with iPhones. My last 2016 Lexus allowed text message to appear on the screen. Now the new 2019 Lexus models. So it is MANDATORY that you have an iPhone if you want to drive the luxurious 2019 Lexus without using your stereo system.

I had a worst case scenario of a safety recall: defective valves broke and I had total engine failure. Lexus did honor the repair, though I was under 100k mileage, I was over 3 yrs. They kept car 3 wks, replace one engine block and the valves. I paid for brakes, flushing system, and a new starter (car suddenly didnt start when I went to pick up car after 3 wks. Strange! Starter was another $1300. Car has 67,000 miles. This car is terrible... The brakes I can feel under foot and they sound like they need new brakes, not like they just had a brake job. The engine runs rough and loud. Makes some noises. The car also has a roar. The driver door even squeaks now and the whole car makes a noise and is rough. Its embarrassing! Has anyone had any problems? They had to take it apart and put it back together... Im thinking they didnt do a good job. Its not the same car. Any help or advise? I dont even know what to tell them.

I have an app that tells me when it needs to be serviced. I dont think I would buy a car that wasnt a Lexus at this point. I am spoiled now!

2021 GX460 Luxury edition no longer has dual auto-dimming mirrors! They had them on the GX460 Premium/Luxury trim ever since their 2010 redesign and even after the 2020 facelift they kept this feature on the Luxury edition...only to be dropped on a 2021! Theyre saving $100 on a $70k vehicle! Every other Lexus vehicle has them standard or available in a package except for the GX460 now! Whats next Lexus??? Manual windows???I wrote to Lexus about this and earlier today spoke to their Case Manager regarding this issue. First she said that Lexus determines their vehicles features based on extensive research and consumer feedback! Really??? Who are those customers that complained about their passenger side auto-dimming mirror preventing them from being blinded by a semi or an F-250??? But then it gets even more bizarre: she said that it is not salesperson responsibility to inform customers about vehicle features... OK! Whos job is it?So according to her, it was my job to somehow suspect that Lexus would decide to drop this feature from a vehicle that had it on every MY starting from 2010-2013 (Premium) and then from 2014-2019 (Luxury) and it stayed on the 2020 redesign on the Luxury trim!!! I was supposed to suspect that it would be dropped for 2021... because..?? Im sorry, but this was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. Good deal Lexus! You saved your nickel... Youve lost a loyal customer! If this is what you call pursuit of perfection count me out of that pursuit!

I wanted a car with all leather seats and the Lexus salesperson and the Lexus V Spec sheet and the Lexus window sticker all said that it had leather seats. This was in error as the seats are trimmed leather with leather only on a smaller part of the seats. I didnt notice this until 2 days later and I immediately contacted the dealer. They didnt offer a solution and so I went to Lexus USA. The Window Sticker/Monroney sticker is a Federally mandated contract for what is on the car, therefore the data was wrong on this and after 3 weeks, after they tried to tell me it was all leather only to succumb later that it isnt, told me that they will not buy back the car and closed the case. This is my first experience with Lexus and I am very disappointed in them. They know that they made an error on my window sticker and sold me something other than what they told me I was getting so I am very disappointed in the lack of integrity with this company.

I will never buy another Lexus vehicle. After receiving a recall notice, I waited to take it to the dealer because I was unsure if I was keeping this car. When it was decided to pass it down to my 3rd year medical student, daughter, because of the supposed reliability, I took the vehicle in for the repair. When I left there with a diagnosed timing cover leak, engine oil leak, that occurs in about 100% of these due to a manufacturing problem, and was notified of a $2,800 cost, my trust in this vehicle is over. Not only was that uncovered, but my daughter has complained of the navigation/electrical system shutting off/rebooting approx. 8 times in a 2 hour drive. Jim Hudson Lexus service advisor said I needed an update for $186. Upon further review, I do not believe an update will help. I reached out to Lexus Corporate and after the case manager, finally, reached someone at Jim Hudson, this has been ongoing for about 3 weeks, she called to tell me that Jim Hudson could not create the navigation problem so they did not have a suggestion other than to leave the car with them for further diagnostics. Since the driver is a medical student, 2 hours away, this additional diagnosis time may not be a possibility. Also, she wanted to notify me that Lexus will not be able to help with the repair of the oil leak. After discovering the continued problems with these vehicles, not just the 7 year old ones but the 1 week old ones, I will remove Lexus from my possible cars to buy in the future. Please beware of any Lexus vehicle you are thinking of buying. I do not know how they receive such high ratings.

After experiencing what I thought was a leak in the sun roof, I found out from the dealership that the SUV had four blocked sunroof drains due to dust, dirt and leaves and a blocked A/C drain caused by a spider making a web. I am in the dealership for all of my regular service checkups and these items are not on the check list of things to look at for each of the required service appointments. I have been told this will cost $9000.00 (this is not in my budget). My insurance company will not pay for this, so I am currently waiting for Lexus Corporate to get back to me. The interesting thing is that in addition to the 3 year warranty, I purchased an additional 3 years for continuity of service. A lot of good that did me.

Before I begin my complaint I would like to say the car drives very well and is very sporty. I get a lot of compliments on the vehicle, then they say why is that peeling like that? My Email correspondence with Lexus about my issue: I have a 2006 GS300. I recently noticed my molding along the front windshield that runs along the top to the windshield beginning to PEEL. Really unbelievable for a luxury car. It is embarrassing and damaging to the Lexus brand to have something like this occur AT NO FAULT of my own to this vehicle. I was at the local dealership on a separate issue and was told the roof drip molding was $763.67, absolutely unbelievable. Total repair cost $1200. Why would this peel like this? This is my second Lexus. I had a LS430 before this. I have by far had more issues out of this vehicle than any others I have owned. I am just blown away and I need Lexus to stand behind their brand. I would like the roof molding repaired. This is just ridiculous to have an issue like this on this type of car.The response from Lexus: Thank you for contacting the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department regarding your 2006 GS 300, Vehicle Identification Number **. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. As an automotive manufacturer, Lexus feels its warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, and demonstrates faith in the performance and reliability of its product line. Lexus also realizes that product failures can occur on any vehicle at any time, and regrets any inconvenience this may cause. In an effort to be sensitive to the expectations of Lexus customers, we review matters on a case by case basis when a product failure occurs outside the warranty period. We have examined all information pertinent to your request for assistance, including the nature of the repair, mileage on the vehicle, and the warranty expiration date. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the repair of the front windshield moldings. We apologize that this may not be the response you hoped for. If you require further assistance, please contact the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Time.My final response: First off thank you for your time and attention to my concern, however I am not pleased with the decision. I see now purchasing a second Lexus was a mistake on my part. I understand Lexus has the right to not stand behind their product and I have the right to not purchase their product. I understand CLEARLY from the discussion from my service advisor that I purchased a USED vehicle not a new one. However as I stated I purchased a used Lexus with a verifiable service history. In fact it was a Lexus certified vehicle. I purchased a used Lexus, not a used Hyundai, Mazda, Chevy, Honda or Ford. Which by the way has a more comprehensive warranty than a Lexus. 5 years, 7 years, and lifetime on certain parts. And cost far less on the initial purchase. Now a Lexus as stated in consumer reports has a better resale and loan value. So I suppose there is the trade off.But as I stated on the outset I will not be purchasing another USED Lexus product certified or not. I will however let the message board know about my experience. I will also let anyone know about Lexus products/customer service and if the paint begins to peel for no reason, out of the blue it’s your issue. Lexus customer service will stand behind the small issues but when it comes to anything costly you’re on your own. I wonder if the door falls off next or the spoiler blows off while driving, the bumper just comes unhooked for no reason, my seat brakes apart… I mean really whats next. Even though it’s a luxury car, it’s not quality built - these are things that should not happen to this type of car. This email may not mean much in the grand picture. I am just one consumer, but I will exercise my right as a consumer. My wife and I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Audi, and Infiniti. We never had any issues like this to occur. Lexus wants nearly $1200 for a piece of plastic molding!!! Ironically I have never heard of these things happening with a Toyota, only with a Lexus. A Lexus may look good but the quality is another subject.

We bought our 2000 Lexus RX300 brand new in Sept 2000. As Lexus was worried about the impending release of the Acura MDX, we got a few hundred dollars below-list price. Starting in 2009-2010 period, the windows began failing, i.e. the up/down switches no longer worked in the front windows. Then the door locks started failing. Now whenever I lock the car 1 of the 4 doors randomly does not lock and I must walk around the car manually locking all the doors. Note that this is WORSE than no door locks at all because unlocking the front door by key or by switch tends to unlock all the doors, meaning the car WASTES my time. We have had several incidences on a long trip where the window got stuck down and you have to drive home with the driver and/or passenger window open. Lexus wants $500/door to replace the $5 servo motor, because the doors are extremely poorly designed and literally take 4-5 hours to disassemble and reassemble each one!It was the final straw when the antenna motor failed and I had to remove 28+ nuts and bolts and disassemble the ENTIRE rear cargo area just to get the dang thing out! Lexus is so arrogant they think their $5 motors and $10 antennas never break, so the car is actually VERY POORLY put together and not easily maintainable. We never seek Lexus dealer service because they charge 2x what our local Asia car-mechanic costs, and they have junior techs! Beware!

I purchased a 2014 Lexus IS 250 in February. Since buying the car I have noticed the gray spots popping up everywhere in the paint, so I took the car to Lexus of South Atlanta to have them look at it. They told me it was from bird poop, which I knew was not the case since my car stays clean. I had three other people look at the car after that to tell me it was not bird poop causing the paint to do that, that it was a defect with the paint they used to paint the car. Since the car is still under all warranties I call the Corporate office of Lexus and opened a case. Once I was contacted by the case worker I explained the issue to her and she then told me to take it to the closest Lexus dealer and have them do a work order and inspect the car she would then follow up with me. So I called the dealer and set up a time to bring it in. When I got to the dealer the service manager at Lexus of South Atlanta was so rude to me and told me he could not look at my car due to the rain which made no sense seeing how the car was in the shop not outside. The following day my case worker called and then told me I had to bring it back and try and have them look at it again so that being the 3rd time taking it to that dealership. They took pictures of my car and told me that they would be sent off to cooperate then they would let me know when I needed to bring my car in yet again for the 4th time to have a man from Corporate look at the car. The following week my case worker calls to tell me Lexus of South Atlanta had contacted her and said nothing was wrong with the car and they would not be fixing it. I asked her who she spoke with. It was the service manager there which he had no part in speaking to me or writing the work order to know what was going on with the car. She was going to close my case since he had called. I complained and she said we can go to the next step and have a man from Corporate look at it. Finally the man from Corporate was able to look at the car. When we first met and I was showing him the spots he says oh yeah something is going on here, then ask if we can have a body shop look at it since he was not aware that the whole car had spots. He thought it was just the door and a finder. So we took it to a body shop near the dealership which is one Lexus uses quite often. A few different men that work at the body shop look over the car and say they think its from a chemical and that it would be $10k to repaint. The man from Corporate then tells me if it was just the one panel and door he would fix it no problem but it being the whole car they dont feel that its a paint defect and that they wont fix it. The service manager was trying his hardest to talk us out of wanting the car fixed. Told me my rims would come back scratched, that the value of my car will drop so much that if I traded it in I wouldnt get anything for, but if I was to trade it in how it sits with spots all over Im sure I would get way less than what I would if the paint was fixed. I picked Lexus as a car because they are suppose to be nice cars that wont give you problems as long as you maintain them like you should and only owning my since February and seeing how I get treated at their dealerships makes me want to never own one again and to make sure everyone I know, knows how terrible their customer service is. Their cars are not cheap and there is no reason my car should have messed up paint. I truly think Lexus doesnt want to fix my car because of the price it will cost them. And dealing with their Corporate office is just as bad as dealing with Lexus of South Atlanta. If you miss the call and call back like the case workers ask you to do in the voice message they leave you, can never get in touch with them, and they wont call back for another day or two. I highly recommend if youre considering a Lexus car to look up reviews and do your research because my experience with Lexus in the short months of owning my car have been terrible!

After purchasing two Lexus’, I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue.I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation.I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump.Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don’t want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel.My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced.

I am the owner of my third Lexus ES 350. I anticipated buying my fourth in the next couple of years. I have purchased a Lexus almost exclusively because of its reputation for quality. As I am often in my car alone, the idea of having a car that will not leave me stranded by the side of the road is paramount. I noticed initially, however, with my most recent car purchased new, the 2014 model, that it was not as quiet as my first Lexus.I let that past not attributing it to a decline in overall quality. However, I was wholly unprepared for the wholesale failure without warning of my transmission after only 74,000 miles leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was lucky to make it to a surface street as the failure occurred on the highway. This was a car, as was the case with each of my prior purchases, that had each and every service recommended, all done by a Lexus dealer. However, I could have saved myself a tremendous amount of money, both in terms of initial outlay and maintenance cost, with a much cheaper car and received the same result. This is my LAST Lexus and last Toyota made car.

Lexus cars are very nice and useful vehicles that everyone should own. And very low maintenance and I think everyone would love to have such a nice brand. Its very competitive. I cant get over how nice my vehicle looks. I think anyone would say the same thing if they were to see it is a nice ride. My upgrades includes new speakers and infotainment system including new touch screens and I have new rims, new seat covers and even a new headline. Plus my vehicle can carry your whole family and plenty of luggage. Anyone will be surprised at its amazing ability to carry tons of stuff including the whole family on long trips.

2016 Lexus CT 200h - has easy handling, fuel efficiency and hybrid drivetrain. 2016 Lexus ES 300h - a luxury sedan thats safe and stylish. 2016 Lexus GS 200t - nice smooth ride and easy handling, comfortable seating, V-6 powered with all wheel drive. 2016 Lexus GS F - luxury mid-sized sedan and, the car that I purchased, Lexus NX 200t - has a roomy backseat, fuel efficiency and incredible interior. I chose the silver color. I love this crossover SUV because its roomy and can seat up to five people. The Lexus Enform Remote allows me use my smartphone to unlock doors and start the engine. It has heated side mirrors and a backup camera. The Lexus 2016 NX 200t also offers additional significant available features. Some features are the upgrade to all-wheel drive, 18 inch wheels, navigation system, power moonroof, leather upholstery, and heated front seats. It offers impeccable cabin construction. A few days after purchasing my 2018 ES 350 Lexus I noticed a fumey smell in the car after driving it for a few miles. The car was a certified used car so I thought maybe there were lingering scent from the previous owner, so I gave the interior of the car a thorough cleaning, but I couldnt get rid of the scent. I used all different types of air freshener but the fumes scent kept coming back, especially when I was driving on the highway. What really scared me was when I was transporting my daughter and she stated that, Mom the smell inside your car makes me feel nauseated. I called the car dealership Lexus of Palm Beach immediately, I stated the problem and was told to bring the car in.To my surprise Lexus has been aware of the problem since 2006. I was given a HVAC odor maintenance bulletin dated February 6th 2020, which stated that some 2006 to 2020 model year Lexus vehicles may exhibit odors that naturally occur from the HVAC system and/or related environmental factors. Although there is no way to eliminate these orders, follow the general procedure in this bulletin to minimize the order experience. I was told to purchase a charcoal AC filter with an AC refresher for $265 plus tax that may or may not minimize the order experienced. The most shameful part of this experience with Lexus was that they were trying to convince me that other motor vehicle manufacturers had the same problem, The problem I see here is Lexus chose not to fix this problem. They have been aware of this problem since 2006 and they continue to manufacture vehicles with the same odor problem as of 2020. I have driven other cars that were not fume coffins, like this ES 350. Other automotive vehicle manufacturers choose to fix this problem. I bought this car because it was a Lexus and the name Lexus was associated with prestige and luxury. I now have a car, I still owe thousands of dollars that I cannot transport my children in. I have to drive the car because its my only means of transportation but I feel unsafe in it every day I drive it.I am so tired of corporations and people who work for these corporations that dont care about their customers and their safety. I bought a Lexus, I expected the best in luxury, before buying this car I drove a Kia. It did not have an odor issue so Kia found a way to fix the problem, why Lexus refuses to fix this fume odor issues. Shame on you Lexus Manufacturer.

I have been a loyal customer of Lexus for over 25 years and, generally, very happy with the cars; however, most of them I traded/sold before they were 5 years old. My current car is 2010 Lexus 450H that has less than 75,000 miles and was purchased less than 6 years ago. As usual, I am up-to-date with the maintenance schedule on the car and the maintenance is always performed at the service department of the dealership. A few days back, while driving, I noticed the hazard sign turned suddenly on and check hybrid system was flashing. Among the things that I noticed were the failure of cars cruise control and the SOS light turning red.I immediately took the car to the dealership service department, who diagnosed it as the failure of the airbag ECU. The replacement cost me $995.42. My service consultant at the dealership is a very nice gentleman, who said that there was no specific maintenance for the unit. That suggested to me that the unit on the car was defective and Lexus should be replacing it free of charge, but they did not. I have heard that computer malfunctions are not uncommon on the cars made by Toyota Motors. I am so disillusioned with Lexus that I have decided to take my business elsewhere and never buy another Lexus and, hopefully, convince my friends to do the same.

Lexus is the best on the market. If you want a brand that is top notch, this would be the purchase of your dreams. The variety of this car comes with multiple colors and different accessories in the different designs it has to offer its most valued loyal customers. The appearance is brilliant in each different car design. It has amazing functions and capabilities in the different types of vehicles youre looking for and the features are like no other youve seen before. It has various upgrades from design, to accessories, built in DVD, compass, four wheel drive. It can function in all seasons with one tire year round. Passenger capacity holds up to 6 people. If you want less passengers and more room, it has an electronic capability to fold a back seat into the floor for more personal room. It is beyond a five star company and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a resilient version of the car.

I bought a car from someone which still has extended warranty until 180,000 km. I brought my car to Lexus Dealership to fix the noise. They asked me to call Lexus Canada to transfer the ownership & warranty and I did that on the phone. They told me alls done. Afterward I was been able to fix my car at Lexus Dealership with no charge. And today I am going back to fix the VSC light engine turn ON. They told me that my extended warranty is expired. I called Lexus Canada and they told me that I did not transfer the ECP warranty when transferring the ownership and my extended warranty is no longer valid. The person that I talked on the phone said that he could not let me talk to his supervisor, and he could not give me his last name. His first name is Christ and his Employee No is ** or **. He talked to me very rude and impolite. I just came back from the States. I have been driving Lexus for the last 12 yrs (2002 LS430, 2005 SC430 and 2009 ES350). My family & I are very pleased when we have to go to a Lexus Dealer fixing our car, because they treat us so nice and with respect. I am very disappointed with Lexus Dealer in Montreal.

I have been going back and forth with Crown Lexus, Lexus corporate, and Lexus executive office for months now. Seems like all they were doing was handing me off wasting my time. My issue is my transmission in my 2007 IS 250 that started while under warranty and I took it to Crown Lexus multiple times. Each time I was either told it was an issue already identified and they would fix under a recall or they could not duplicate the problem and refused to fix it. Every attempt they made with a recall was not the issue. It was and has always been a faulty transmission and I have been saying. The recalls were only a cover up to buy time until the vehicle was out of warranty to avoid a costly repair under warranty. As soon as my vehicle fell out of warranty now they identify and admit that transmission is going out. My vehicle only has 125,000 miles. A Lexus has a reputation and is expected to last well over 200,000 miles. I have researched and found multiple IS 200 owners with the exact same problem. A Lexus tech himself said the transmission will fail early. LEXUS needs to do the right thing and fix these faulty transmissions. I am considering legal action if Lexus continues to ignore this issue. My main reason feeling something should be done is because I brought it to their attention while under warranty and it was never fixed.

My wife and I have a Lexus 430. The trunk lid has an electric power latch which automatically operates to pull the lid down tight when the lid is closed. On 9/30/13, I pulled the switch that opens the trunk in order to allow my wife to take out groceries that were inside the trunk. As my wife was in the course of lifting the trunk lid with her fingers, the latch unexpectedly and without warning activated to close the lid on her fingers with such crushing force that her finger bone was fractured, and her fingernail was pulled out. My wife has been suffering excruciating pain since the mishap! The Lexus owners manual does not give any warning or advice about how to open or close the trunk lid. If Lexus had warned of the danger of the power latch coming down while one was attempting to raise the lid, my wife would never have opened the trunk lid with her fingers!

I purchased a brand new 2015 Lexus IS 250 in the South Atlanta Dealership.
I purchased a brand new 2015 Lexus IS 250 in the South Atlanta Dealership. I cant complain about Bryan, the person who sold it to me. He was great. Now I had to bring it in for my first free 5000 miles service. I drove 1 1/2 to Atlanta thinking they were going to do the first oil change. When I get there they tell me it is not for an oil change. That my vehicle because it is the F Sport doesnt require an oil change until it reaches 10,000 miles so all they did was check the fluids and the minimum service supposedly required. Now I just took it in for my 10,000 mile service and they do the first oil change. I ask Colby what oil they use, the blend or the full synthetic and he tells me he used the full synthetic. The full synthetic would not require me to change the oil until the following 10,000 miles but when I leave the dealership and I look at the sticker they place on the windshield I notice it requires me to change the oil in the next 5,000 miles. I do not understand. So I am guessing they used the blend and not the full synthetic. Not only that, when they give me the paper stating the car was complete and I go out to get my car I see a young gentleman jump in my car and drive off on it. I ask one of the person at the service desk why did they take my car again and she starts trying to contact and find out who had it. A couple of seconds passed and here they bring it back to me. As the young gentleman comes out of my vehicle he states he had left something inside my vehicle and had to get it, but why just not open the vehicle and take whatever item he had left inside instead of driving off on it? Now 10 days later my maintenance light comes on stating my car is due for an oil and filter change. I called the Lexus service department and they tell me they forgot to do the reset and that is why the light was coming on so they guide me on how to do it through the phone. I am really disappointed about the service provided here. Dont know if they just didnt care because it was the first 2 free services provided to me. Honestly I love my Lexus but I am not sure if I will drive another 1 1/2 to just get a poor service done on my vehicle. Will probably just use a Toyota dealership here in my area.

NEW LEXUS CUSTOMER HERE: I recently bought a brand new 2019 RX350 F Sport and from day one experienced regret from the dealer experience to service. On the night I purchased it, the dealer manager rushed delivery and felt like they gave me a car that was sitting on the lot for a while. The tires were improperly inflated and I had PSI issues right away in 60 degree weather as well as Glue left over on the hood from delivery. There were also other issues popping up like rattles in the door that wouldnt go away to a loose ECU mount in the dash and ICS system failures for no reason. They opened up these areas within 2 days of owning the car. The service tech who rode with me to test the car was also rude and claimed he didnt hear the noises. However, they did find issues and attempted to rectify. The service department rep encouraged me to contact Lexus Corporate and I did. They were nice and ultimately with these issues escalated it to the Eastern Regional Office. That office contacted me to fax or mail over paperwork to aid in their review of my case. I did and when I called to confirm receipt of my fax, I received a condescending call from a woman named Karen who was very rude to me and told me that I had threatened her receptionist on the phone earlier because I mentioned I was encouraged by others to post my issues with Lexus on social media. I was so appalled by Karens call and made sure to call Corporate to file a complaint. Im so disappointed by Lexus and their service that my joyous new car experience is gone. They make good cars but for me, customer service is very important. For these reasons alone, I dont recommend Lexus.

I am not employed by Lexus or trying to help them in any way. I am a business owner that has been in the market for a luxury car. I love this website and feel it has prevented me from making a huge financial mistake! I have always wanted an Audi and was close to purchasing their flagship A8. After reading the nightmares of Audi ownership, I started investigating Mercedes and BMW on Consumer Affairs. To make this short, the complaints on Lexus (other than an apparent common problem with their dash cracking) are NOTHING compared to the three German manufacturers! Im seeing complaints on Lexus for using a quart of oil at 120k miles? Transmission complains at 60k? Just saying, read the problems other luxury owners are having, you will feel much better! I still dont know what I will end up dropping $70-$90k on, Lexus seems kind of boring to me, but based on the complaints I am reading about them, I feel it would be a much more reliable option than most..

Purchased RX 350 used. I was headed to a local eatery when my oil light started flashing. Stopped car and checked oil dipstick which showed dry. I blamed oil change store and added oil and drove the short distance to get there. They went out of their way to show me it was not their fault and show me the problem. Towed vehicle to my mechanic and he changed out broken oil line. Told me that I was lucky that my engine was not destroyed and that the oil line was a defective part waiting to fail. Confirmed by checking complaints on internet. Called Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department and jumped through hoops to send them information to recoup money for my repair. Was sent a reply today saying my vehicle did not meet the criteria for reimbursement under the warranty enhancement. Called Lexus and asked what was the criteria needed for my reimbursement, and was told I was not a loyal Lexus Owner. Was also told I did not take my RX to a Lexus Dealer for the repair, and I was past the 10 year limit for the repair. I purchased the vehicle 2 1/2 years ago with 67,000 miles on it, so it was low mileage and the problem had not shown up yet. I have my own personal mechanic that I have used for the last 10 years, so I did not take my RX to Lexus. How many Lexus vehicles do I have to own to be a loyal Lexus owner, and what does that have to do with a defective part anyway? I will never own a Toyota product again. I bought this Lexus reading the high satisfaction report from Consumer Reports. Please be careful if you buy a Lexus, They may represent themselves as a high-end car company, but a design such as the oil line doesnt represent a luxury car line or the customer support you should expect.

I currently own a 2013 GS. Initially, customer service was great until I had an issue with what should have been a routine fix. The problem is consistent throughout the lineup with the speaker performance. The door speakers are outperformed by the center channel and satellite speakers. The problem wasnt necessarily the manufacturer defect, but the treatment by the service staff. Im surprised a class action lawsuit hasnt taken place against Lexus for refusing to honor items covered under warranty or acknowledgement of the problem. To sum it up, the ten speaker layout in the 2013 Lexus GS 350 has a defect in the system. The voice coil in the door speakers malfunctions causing feedback to the channel. Today, I make my stand and refuse to be insulted by Lexus any more. Pursuit of perfection? Please adopt a new slogan. This is a brand I will never affiliate myself with, and yes never really means never.

After a few months of driving it I do not miss the RX. Its just a little bit smaller, small enough to make parking easier but big enough to still haul all the things I used to. At the time Lexus only made three models. Would have loved to have taken home the top model but it was out of my price range. Ended up buying the cheapest model which was the 300 EX. Its a nice car and I enjoyed it a lot until I traded it in for a BMW M3. It had lots of room. I owned it when my second child was born and it had room for both child car seats and for grandma to sit in the back. The front had lots of leg room. It was very comfortable, powerful V6 engine, with a nice quiet ride. It was a nice two-toned color, white over silver and gold plated accents. Got a great deal from the salesman who had a side business of upgrading the chrome accents to gold. Would have cost about $1,000 from the dealer but I got it for half that price.

I have a 2013 model Lexus rx450. Just completed 130k km recently and the car serviced only in lexus. One month before it was showing check hybrid system warning when I checked in the computer system it is saying that to replace battery pack. When I visited the UAE dealer they are saying that it has only 5years warranty and new vehicles have 8 years 160k km. It made me upset so people like us who bought these technology by believing the brand are fools. Now they are saying that it will cost minimum 20k aed to 30k aed. If I sell the car it will get a maximum of aed 60k. Regards, Muneer **. Dubai, UAE.

My GPS system totally went out on me. I spoke with a co-worker of mine who owns a 2006, and the exact same thing happened to her. She told me to go on Consumer Reports and look up this is a well known issue and Lexus is doing nothing about it to fix the issue. I called Lexus to inquire about the issue. The woman over the phone told me out her mouth there have been some cars my brand with GPS issues, but my car is no longer covered under warranty and it could cost me up to $2000 to fix the issue. I bought this car brand new, and this is supposed to be the best of the best. I was told when I purchased the car Lexus honors their mistakes, but it doesnt seem like they are doing it now. This isnt fair to the customer at all. They charge over $5000 for the GPS and in a few years while you’re still paying for the car the GPS breaks down, and they wont cover the cost to fix it. I am very disappointed in Lexus. I thought they had a customer first approach. I am also letting headquarters know how disappointed I am.

Be careful with this problem, I had it happen to me and the dealer said it will likely be a 2500 dollar repair. I went on the net and researched the problem and found it required a software update so I thought 2500 is a bit much so from my computer experiences. I thought a reboot might work so I disconnected the battery cable and left it off for about 10 minutes while I cleaned the cables and posts. Once reconnected, rebooting started and problem fixed proving to me once again that all car dealers are crooks and now Lexus is at the top of all the crooks. It took me about 15 minutes total to do this repair saving me 2500 dollars which equates to 10 thousand dollars an hour at the dealership. They should be arrested for fraud.

Toyota hits a home run every year with the flagship Lexus LS460. The car is put together flawlessly. The mechanical parts roar and purr and make reassuring sounds as the interior parts cuddle you in refined comfort. I have well over 200,000 miles on my 2007 model and no intention of trading it in the near future. In most ways this classic machine is just getting broken in about now. I have followed all recommended service calls, both in and now long out of warranty, and been rewarded with a vehicle that still rules the road. It shines almost as brilliantly after a good wash now as it did right off the showroom floor. I could not be happier with how it just continues to amaze me with its durability and reliability. Yeah, the sticker shock is difficult, but 12 years later it is barely but a memory of a tremendous decision. Thank you, Lexus.

We HAD (with emphasis) a 2018 Lexus GX 460 with only 27,000 miles on it when the alternator decided to completely fail. We live in a very remote area in the summer that is not close to a Lexus dealership so we had a local mechanic replace the alternator. When we returned to our main residence in Florida we took the vehicle to the dealership we purchased it from for a checkup and presented them the bill for replacing the alternator. The service representative said they would submit it to Lexus for reimbursement and we should get a check within a few weeks. Weeks passed and finally, we received a call from our rep saying we would have to deal directly with Lexus Corporation. The corporate office made us jump from hoop to hoop while knowing full well they had no intentions of reimbursing us because we didn’t use a “certified Lexus mechanic”. Lexus has always touted themselves as a “customer comes first” company. Clearly, these core values have gone by the wayside. Additionally, their quality control that they have always prided themselves in has totally gone down the tubes. After reading all these negative reviews I can see I’m not the only one who has issues with this company. We will not be buying any more Lexus vehicles in our lifetime and many of our friends who own a Lexus will hear our story. Sadly Lexus will be keeping OUR $921.97. They apparently will need it to keep their head above water from all of their problems.

The same thing happened to me once - I narrowly escaped having my fingers crushed while opening the trunk. I think it re-locks after a certain amount of time, (or maybe my husband re-pulled the opener from the front) but I was about to open the trunk and the latch pulled down again to automatically close. I was grateful I pulled my fingers out just in time and now Im very careful to check that I open the trunk right away. Im also having other issues with my 2003 LS430, like a burning oil smell coming from the engine. I am under 100,000 miles so Im disappointed that I may be looking at something big (and surely costly). I had extended warranties up until last year and each time I brought it in I paid average $2000 AFTER the warranty work. Very disappointed.

I like the different styles and colors of Lexus, but I prefer BMWs, very unique. Many brands copy them. I hope that they, Lexus, improve on their designs. But I like how they last pretty long. My only complaint is that it runs out of battery fast. Sometimes my car dies out, but it may be due to old car issues. Also, theres not many upgrade options with Lexus. Youd have to go to other shops because Lexus is way too overpriced. Not a big fan, sorry Lexus. I also wish I could fit more but more means more money :( I hope they can fix this. I hope that they dont change anything like metals, engine, etc. Like downgrading.

I took my 2010 Lexus IS250 to the Wilkie Lexus in Ardmore Pa. for the 60,000 mile service. They called after looking over my car to let me know that I needed a front driver side tire due to a bubble in that particular tire. I gave them the ok to replace the tire and to do some other things that they said had to get done which drove the cost up considerably. Well, a few weeks went by and I decided to wash my car. I noticed a bubble in my tire and realized my tire was never replaced! I called the dealership and left a message in the voicemail of the service advisor that wrote up the invoice as his name is on the invoice. Since its Sunday, I dont expect to hear anything from Lexus until tomorrow (Monday). At which point I hope they will do the right thing and replace the tire that I paid to have replaced, that was obviously not replaced!

The sleek model of the exterior provides a stylish look. The leather seats and interior accents provide a luxurious look and feel. The outside lights have a futuristic appeal. The navigation upgrades come with the latest software and maps. The bluetooth technology makes it easy to use my cell phone hands free. The option for Onstar gives me a sense of dependability. Brand new car today (2019 ES 350 with luxury package). Beautiful ride and handling. Sound system is HORRIBLE. I dare you to try and get adequate sound from rear speakers! With the fader its all or nothing. If you toggle to get more volume from the rear, the front speakers cut out completely. The sound was just as good in cars I owned during the 70s. I bought the car in Brossard (South Shore, Montreal). First thing I noticed is that there were 188 kilometers on the new car (about 140 miles). Thats like driving half-way from Montreal to NYC! Then, I had trouble loading a CD to listen to the sound. Turns out there was already a CD in it... Rap Music, to boot! I can only imagine where this new car has been before I got in it. Dealer (Gabriel Lexus) didnt give a damn... I was told simply to enjoy the car... My first stop was the car wash, where I got the guys to clean the windshield of film and streaks. Previously, I owned 16 Nissans and Infinitis in a row (sixteen vastly better experiences!). I hope I feel better about LEXUS tomorrow, after a good night sleep.

I bought a Certified 2004 RX330 from Lexus Clearwater. I bought the car in 06, the SUV had 22k miles, was soon told I needed new tires. Did research as why would I need new tires now, especially on a Certified car, with so little mileage and only two years old. The tires were switched out, they were Cooper tires which arent the tires from the Lexus manufacturer. When I asked Clearwater Lexus about this and told them someone from Tampa Lexus had talked with me about the issue, they said, Why would you listed to Tampa Lexus? They are worse than we are!! I spoke with the corporate office and best they would do is offer new tires at retail - still bogus. Now my dash is cracking and Lexus Tampa said $1900 to replace, and 10% off as I dont service my car there enough for a larger discount. Now the headlights are cloudy and there is a recall, but there are no parts for their own recall just an acknowledgement that there is an issue. I was duped by Lexus, they are horrible. Very sorry I ever bought a car from them. Dealerships should provide an actual printout on how they certify a car, if they had, the tires wouldnt have passed a certification test. Like a home inspection, I want to see levels and percentages of wear and tear and how they could ever pass worn tires as certified. Lexus shmexus. Poor quality, certified means nothing, horrible customer service.

There is rust on the chrome or metal of the seat belts.Upon delivery, I expressed my dissatisfaction and concern about it being water damaged, but got no satisfactory explanation. I might add that I paid a premium because it was a limited edition with only 32,000 miles. The dealership is not accepting or acknowledging that anything is not as advertised or described to me. I purchased a Lexus a few years back for one main reason....reliability. Well let me tell you I have never had as many problems with my Lexus as I have had with any other brand. So far I have replaced water pump, side view mirror, 2 door actuators, battery and now the gateway control module is not shitting down resulting in my battery being dead after 1 day of non use. After three years of ownership I have spent over $4,000 for repairs and now they want another $1,000 for an issue that NHTSA has issued a TSB on but since the battery being dead is not a safety issue no recall has been issued. Both the door actuators and gateway control modules are well documented issues with Lexus and they absolutely will not standby their vehicles. I will never buy another Lexus and looking at the other luxury brands for my business. I will gladly pay more to get reliability as apparently Lexus IS no longer a brand synonymous with reliability.

My local Lexus of Kendall (FL) dealer nor Lexus corporate have resolved a problem with my 2013 ES 300h after many attempts. Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work. I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said its not a Lexus defect because on one side it is perfect circle. I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.

Bought a 2015 GS 350 car. Was over 50k and not fully loaded. The bad interior colors are all black unless you get a white exterior or black exterior. Then you get the option of only a few interior lighter colors then deep black. Second Lexus engineers destroyed the navigation system by taking away touch screen and installing a mouse to click 1 letter or number at a time, 10x slower than the old touch screen. Also their talk in navigation does not work half the time because its affected by AC or radio noise. Its real garbage, a $150 tom tom is faster and better. They did this to save money. It will be gone next year or so. Also the geniuses at Lexus actually have a knob that pipes in engine noise into the cabin like its a high powered corvette, ridiculous. Now for the ride. Its rough because their 18 rims and little tire contacting road so you feel every little mild bump. Also the rims are dull cheap looking fake silver. Really ugly. The backup camera is fair but no front camera because they raised dashboard height to accommodate junk navigational. Now you cant see past mid hood creating blind spot of front distance of car to an object. Very little contrasting color on door panels or dash just a fake chrome colored clock. And the six stack CD player is gone now also with a basic 1 CD insert and a few speakers average sound. Then to turn on accessories like windows, wipers, radio etc. You have to go through a crazy touch button twice while foot on brake pedal. Yes you can get satellite radio for a fee plus to use through the junk navigational will take 5 minutes to move a mouse for station. Then they got Lexus Enform built in with your navigational where you can pull car over and play with mouse to make dinner reservation, concerts, etc. Its idiotic just read up on the reviews of Lexus Enform. Use your cell to call a place you want reservations. It is 20x faster. Also the car engine with the dual exhaust is noisy as hell. Your neighbor can hear the motor running 3 doors down. I have a 2002 Lexus so this is how I know where the mistakes are in the new car compared to the 2002 GS 300 model which is so much better designed than the new 2015 junk. Also premium gas only and lousy mileage. I would have looked at other cars but my wife loved the old Lexus so she thought the new one would have the same nice features and smooth ride. No way is this plastic car worth more than $38,000 not 53k.So what is better on the Lexus 2015 versus 2002? Nothing to be honest. Has a few more useless steering wheel gadgets, thats it. So what do I like about it? Just increased engine power for passing. If youre thinking about buying this model take it on the freeway and some side streets with a few bumps then youll pass. Car was new when we bought it but had 90 miles on it telling me about 15 people test drove it then passed. I bought it from the liars at Keyes Lexus and they have some real trashy middle eastern hustlers that worked there. It was 5 hours of lies before I regretfully bought from the low class staff. Heres how much profit they make on a 53k MSRP car about 8-9 thousand so now you know what price theyll sell it at.Also the liar sales manager hustled my wife into an added warranty for 2 extra years only for $2800. Huge rip off. After we bought warranty the sales people said all new Lexuss come with a 7 year engine & trans warranty and 4 yr. 50,000 on the other parts. Before you buy look at Acura, Cadillac, Honda, etc. Also dont buy it if it has a mouse for typing and no touch screen. Last thing the door handles are painted silver but made of PLASTIC. For $53,000 3 stars overall is correct rating. The end!!!

There were no obvious problems until a multitude of lights came on telling me to get the car to a dealer immediately. I took the car into Mungenast Lexus on Saturday, 3/8/2014 with 89,000 miles. The tech hadnt seen some of the items and I was told I would have to wait until Monday to find out the cause. They got the malfunction lights off and I said I would drive it until they came on again. The car wasnt driven much Sunday or Monday but the lights came on again late Monday and I took the car back to Mungenast on Tuesday, 3/11/2014. On Wednesday, 3/12/2014 I was given an estimate of $10,682.75 for the necessary repairs, not including taxes. Does anyone know of a $73,000 luxury car requiring $11,000 in repairs at 89,000 miles? A car that has been maintained and hasnt been in a wreck, has regular maintenance (although not by Lexus) or any other obvious mistreatment. I made a complaint to Lexus Customer Care (yeah, right!) and they gave me $2000 toward the repairs which I felt was a joke given the forums that point out all of the problems with this car. Virtually all of the repairs necessary are mentioned in all of the forums or other online places to learn of car troubles.I had all of the repairs done except the upper and lower control arms to the tune of $4637.81 including the $2000 credit against the repairs. The upper and lower control arms represent another $4690.15 plus tax. Ive been told to get this done as soon as possible. The car cant really be aligned until these are repaired. I had the first items done in order to get the car back and take advantage of what had been offered before they tried to renege on that. Additionally, I cant sell the car as is because it wont pass a state inspection. Even if I get it fixed, CarFax is probably going to show the repairs so I cant sell it as an individual and if I keep it, Ill be waiting for the other shoe and another $3000 or $4000 in repairs. I feel like I have been really screwed by Lexus with little ability to fight back.I plan to make sure this is known to as many people as possible and am seriously considering a big yellow lemon on all 4 doors with something like, Ask me about my Lexus experience with an e-mail or phone number. I have no idea if this would qualify for a lemon law claim. Repairs: 1) R & L #1 & #2 Upper Control Arms: $3210.35* 2) R&L Lower Control Arms: $1479.80* 3) Water Pump: $701.50 4) R Front Shock: $595.36 5) Brake Actuator: $2704.96 6) Bank 1 & Bank 2 Fuel Ration Sensors7) O-Ring, Fuel Gasket & Insulator at High Pressure $1523.67Fuel Pump: $871.52 *Work not done yet. Work that has been done: $6637.81 including tax. $2000. Lexus credit equals $4637.81. Perhaps the shock and the water pump would be okay although with 7 previous pre-owned cars driven in excess of 125,000 miles I had replace no shocks or suspension items. If you have a family of 4-5 of average size could fit comfortably in the LS 460. Great for travel and plenty of wiggle room. A huge trunk that could hold 2 adult bodies... just to give an idea of the trunk size! Totally amazing rear seat entertainment system. With dual screening so awesome! State of the art technology. Mesh grills and spoilers are really nice if you have the budget for it.

My wife’s 2016 Lexus ES350 was brought in for an oil change. They told her the car needed new tires. It only has 17k miles on it, while the tires are rated for 50k. Lexus will not cover it under warranty. I’ve owned Mercedes, Cadillac, Infinity, BMW and Porsche and have never had this experience ever. This will be the last Lexus I ever purchase/lease!

I own a RX 330 which I take pride in servicing and has always relied on Lexus to do all my services even though they are twice as expensive. December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.

With 89000+ miles, I was told the timing cover gasket was leaking and to replace it would cost $3000+ because the engine must be pulled. I asked what type of gasket would be replaced. The service manager stated that a liquid gasket would be replaced and that Lexus does not use a fiber gasket. He also stated that the liquid gasket melts from the heat of the engine and causes the leak which happens quite often. When I checked Toyota I found the company uses a fiber gasket on their timing cover. This is a definite design flaw in the RX 350. No doubt the melting of the liquid gasket contaminates the oil. Because of the risk of the leak to happen again, as soon as I can afford it, the RX 350 will be traded for a Toyota. It proves that Lexus vehicles are high maintenance and too expensive to own.

I have a Lexus GS and noticed the roof molding peeling. I Google and discover it was a common problem. My windows and door locks stopped working. For a luxury car I expected much better reliability. I have 3 Toyota cars and only my older ones were OK. I have switched to Honda now and been very happy. They repaired the paint and windshield visor on my 2008 Civic which is 7 years old under warranty. At least Honda takes pride and responsibility for their cars. I now only buy Honda.

In February of 2012, my Lexus 2006 es330 accelerated with me from 25 miles to approx 75 miles. My car ended up in a ditch that was when it stopped. It was as if the car took a life of its own. It was towed to JM Lexus and I explained to them what happened. They kept the car for about 10 days including work at the body shop which my insurance paid for. I specifically asked on several occasions if they checked the car out for its unintentional acceleration and they told me yes and nothing was found. In June of 2012, the same thing happened. The car went from 25 to 80 miles and even when brake was applied, the car would not stop. At this time, the car was in shambles. The car finally stopped when it hit a light post. The car was written off by my insurance company. I called Lexus Corporation and they wrote me back a letter which insulted my intelligence. This has left me with post traumatic syndrome shoulder pain, knee pain and fear of driving. It affected my livelihood as Im a home health medicare nurse. It bothers me that a big corporation as that doesnt want to take responsibility for their product.

I have a 2007 IS250. I bought the vehicle brand new. Ive had several issues with this vehicle, for starters the vehicle inside interior is POORLY crafted. The dash is melting, as well as the door panels. Ive had to replace both headlights. I also had minor engine problems which was covered under warranty. Lexus is rated as one of the top vehicles in the country. I would NEVER EXPECT a TOP RATED vehicle as Lexus to have this sort of issue (interior). I find this to be VERY UNFAIR to myself and other consumers who have purchased this vehicle and also experiencing this problem (interior). Lexus REFUSE to order a RECALL on this issue. If I had known the interior on this vehicle was SO POOR I would have never purchased it. If you are thinking on purchasing this model, the model itself is NICE, OTHERWISE, DO NOT PURCHASE. I just would think a company of the sort (Lexus) would do a MUCH BETTER JOB at listening and HANDLING consumers complaints and protecting LEXUS name. I am sure this complaint is not the only complaint on this particular model (IS250). All the other models Im certain DO NOT HAVE this issue so why not place a RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, AT LEAST THE DASH? Unhappy Consumer. I rate this vehicle???

My LS460 has best radio Lexus offers (Levinson) and at 67000 miles the radio amp failed and I have had no radio since. My car is always been maintained and in fact looks like a new car. I went to the dealership in Manchester who looked at the amp and said he saw no reason for the failure, the area was clean and dry. He suggested I call Lexus Consumer Relations. I did as they suggested and spoke with a Colleen. She said I needed to return to the dealership for a formal inspection to be put in writing. I said, If I do return and the report reflects the same thing my first visit did will you fix my radio amp? She said she could not make any promises… I said, Then why am I jumping through these hoops? She said it was required by Lexus. I returned as Colleen asked and received the same results: there was no reason, obvious reason for the failure. The information was relayed to Colleen and weeks later she called me and said Lexus was unable to offer any help... offer assistance. SO BASICALLY SHE WASTED MY TIME! To own an $80,000.00 car with only 67000 mile and no radio is crazy. Ive been driving around with a boom box on the passenger seat. I AM VERY UNHAPPY AND WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER LEXUS IF THIS IS HOW THEY ARE MAKING THEM TODAY.

Lexus had issues with brake actuators so the warranty was extended and letters were sent. If you didnt have a problem during the warranty period no action was required and no action would be taken on the vehicle. The warning came up on the dash after the extended warranty was over. We were told by the Dealership Service Manager that Lexus Corporate had always helped in the past on this issue so We had the work done at the Lexus dealership, about $3,500. When Lexus Corporate was contacted the Lexus case manager said they would have to look into it. They called back my cell but left no message at all. I called back but the case manager was unavailable, and I was told they would call back. This same process repeated several times. Finally, I was able to speak with the case manager and was told the policy is strict and nothing is done on extended warranty after the warranty period is over. Why were we not told of the unbending policy from the beginning? To the contrary we were told that Lexus had always covered this issue out of warranty in the past. We could have taken the car for the repairs somewhere else and saved money but were led to believe Lexus would probably provide full relief. Why is Lexus charging full price and making a profit from a known issue?

We have owned three Lexus products over the years they have been in the US. The cars are great but the corporate culture has deteriorated greatly. The present CEO and the person in charge of Customer service are not at all qualified for their jobs and they have given Lexus a bad name for customer service. The corporate offices have literally no control over the dealers if there are issues, selling cars is all that matters, not customer service. If you have an issue that the dealer refuses to take care of, the infrastructure Lexus created at corporate is so pathetic you will only be frustrated trying to get any closure.

Also, the appearance is impeccable, seriously a real stunner and ranking number one on looks. Lexus should be known for just the fact that the car itself is one of the best. Some may not like the design. But it is actually the classiest and sexiest car there is. Although you will need a contract, Lexus is very open to upgrades and letting you the buyer choose the looks and features they want what they travel in to be. I love driving a Lexus, but being in passenger seat? Also a great choice. With all the cool features the driver get, passenger can sit back and relax, preferably with a heated bosom.

The Lexus cars until now, have been classic and elegant looking. I dont like the new Lexus cars or SUVs. They ruined the styling. First they put a silly Bow tie in front?? Then the sides look dented in, more or less caved in. My old 2000 Lexus SUV has been admired for years. I get many compliments and today it looks brand new. My dealer and at gas stations, malls everywhere, I drive it, I have had many offers to sell my car. But it rides well, very comfortable and from the drivers seat I can see the road immediately in front of me, there is no huge hood to try and look over and beyond to see the road. The Bose radio/Multidisc CD player sound fabulous and I do not have to reload my CDs each time I want to hear a new artist, I can chose from 5 disks within the dash. Wish they would listen to drivers as to styling and comfort and convenience. Myself, as a retired designer, they went overboard and tried to jazz the car up too much. No need just give the new owners less gadgets (to go wrong) to keep the total car price more reasonable. If they fix it and go back to a classic look, I would buy a new Lexus in a heartbeat. And dealer (in RI) is very reputable and helpful anytime I needed anything, even my oil changes. They are always there to help whatever my needs since 2000 to today 2018. That is a bonus...

Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explan
Lexus has denied warranty coverage on our car without any reasonable explanation, and ignored our request to provide reasonable explanations. In November 2013, we purchased a certified pre-owned Lexus that came with a 3-year warranty. At the time of purchase, the front bumper was slightly misaligned, with a small gap between the main body and the bumper on the driver side. Over time, the front bumper kept getting loose, making the gap very wide. Also, a gap started appearing on the driver side of the rear bumper. After ignoring several e-mails and phone calls of ours, Lexus requested us to have the car inspected by the service manager of the dealership where we purchased the car. At the time of inspection (August 13), the service manager looked puzzled and said that he would send the pictures and the description of needed repairs to Lexus. On August 19, the service manager informed us by phone that Lexus denied the warranty coverage because the problems were determined to be due to external causes. This argument, however, has no foundation because there is no trace of an impact on either bumper. On the same day, we sent the case manager at Lexus an e-mail requesting her to answer the following three questions in writing: (1) There is no trace of an impact. (I dont think the service manager found any trace of an impact. Let me know if he said otherwise.) What kind of external cause would make the bumper seriously misaligned without leaving a dent or scratch? (2) I understand that nobody can rule out the possibility of a minor contact on the bumper, such as a contact by another car at a speed of 2 MPH while the vehicle is parked. However, bumpers are supposed to withstand moderate impacts, not to mention minor impacts. If the bumper got seriously misaligned by a minor impact leaving no dent or scratch, shouldnt the manufacturer be responsible for it? (3) How can you rule out the possibilities of defective factory assembly or defective repair/replacement by the previous owner?By phone, the case manager told us that she could only send us a generic denial letter. The letter sent through e-mail simply says, it has been determined that the repair needed to the bumper is due to an outside influence. If they were allowed to deny warranty coverage without any reasonable explanation, they would not have to honor any warranty coverage. We are pursuing this matter through various channels, and we will update this as we get results.

My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.

I bought a new brand Lexus IS 350 one month ago. Now with only 600 miles driven, the car brake pads are not working. Lexus warranty also does not cover brake pads because they know that their brake pads quality is more than **. If I have to change its brake pads in every 600 miles then I have to change my brake pads 100 times until mileage of 6000 miles. First of all, this is my first ever negative review for any company. Unfortunately, based-on what has just happened to us, I felt an obligation to at least warn others. Lexus doesn’t stand by their brand, and ultimately won’t take care of loyal customers even when your car is still somewhat in warranty. We’ve owned two other Lexuses over the past 15 years and have proclaimed we would only buy Lexus going forward for life. Our 2014 RX350 (purchased in 2015 at 28k miles) had a 100k mile warranty or Sept. 2020 expiration. We are just under 130,000 miles on the vehicle and our engine is completely gone (just 6-year old car).We spent over $300 for the diagnostic test alone at the dealership at the request of the manufacturer to validate the assessment of a trusted third party repair shop who told us that the engine was shot and would need to be replaced costing $10K. The Lexus dealership provided an estimate over $6K to fix an engine with the disclaimer that more parts may be needed after tearing it down (assuming the cost is going to be much more). This is not even a new engine replacement. All regular maintenance has been done faithfully at an independent and reputable auto service business.Lexus manufacturer has completely refused to help in any way even though a representative at the dealership says they never see this happen in these models. Our car is unfortunately not worth more than $13,000 and the cost of repairs simply don’t make sense. Lexus doesn’t stand behind its product and have definitely tarnished it’s reputation as a brand. We would have probably spent at least $300k more in our lifetime on Lexus vehicles and passed down the current vehicle to our daughter because of their perceived reliability and quality. This is not the case!!!!They washed it all away for simply not replacing our engine this once or even helping in some way (they didn’t even reimburse us for the diagnostic test they requested to consider the issue). Lexus should be ashamed, and I hope this review helps someone else avoid this situation in the future. Lexus, don’t brag about your product reliability, customer service, and commitment to customers satisfaction. Going forward we will chose to do business with a company with more integrity and honesty.

I have a 2004 Lexus IS300 with interior in near mint condition. Years ago I started experiencing a problem with the dashboard. It was sticky and wiping it down stripped away the paint. I contacted Lexus customer service and they scheduled me an appointment with my local dealer (Tri-County Lexus of little falls New Jersey) for an inspection. The dealer took pictures and sent them to corporate. A week later I contacted Lexus customer service and to my surprise they refused to fix the problem. I argued with them and they offered me a $250.00 credit for the inconvenience. Till this day I have yet to use the credit. A year ago I contact my local dealer for a quote on my dashboard and they advised me to wait. They said that Lexus/Toyota is aware of the problem and they will be sending out recall notices. I waited but never got a notice. Later I realized that a recall was issued for the melting dash but it did not include the IS300. I recently contacted my local dealer again for a quote. I asked them what they recommend I do, either I have my dash pulled out and repainted or I buy a new dash. The service advisor did not recommend I have the dash repainted, saying that the paint will eventually come off - that Im better off buying a new dash. I asked What if I buy a new dash and I run into the same problem Im having now? He did not have a answer for me. Hes said that he will call me back. Till this day I have yet to receive a callback. Ive called several times and every time I call Im told that I will get a callback. I am very disappointed with Lexus/Toyota. I am unsatisfied with the service they provided. I feel that all of this could have been avoided if Lexus/Toyota had just included the IS300 in the recall. This experience will definitely influence my business with Lexus/Toyota in the future.
