Toyota Automobile Model 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The 2025 RAV4 Hybrid builds on Toyota’s compact crossover platform but replaces the standard gas-only powertrain with a hybrid setup. It aims to deliver a balance of fuel efficiency, reliability, practicality, and the versatility of an SUV — making it a strong candidate for city driving, commuting, and occasional light adventure. It retains the roomy cargo space and height of a conventional RAV4, while offering better economy and smoother deliveries from the hybrid system.
Powertrain & Performance
The hybrid system pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine with electric motors.
Transmission is an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT), optimized to manage both electric and gasoline power smoothly.
Drivetrain: The RAV4 Hybrid offers an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option, using the hybrid system to deliver power to both front and rear wheels for enhanced traction and stability.
Driving dynamics: The combined output provides good responsiveness off the line thanks to electric torque, aiding city driving and merge situations. For typical driving, the RAV4 Hybrid feels quiet, composed, and efficient rather than sporty.
Because of the hybrid’s instant torque and balanced power delivery, the vehicle handles urban stop-and-go traffic well and remains stable and predictable on highways.
Fuel Efficiency & Economy
As a hybrid, the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid delivers significantly better fuel economy than the standard gas version — especially in city or mixed driving where the electric assist frequently engages.
Regenerative braking helps recharge the battery during deceleration, reducing fuel consumption and lessening brake wear over time.
Because the hybrid system balances gasoline and electric power, fuel cost savings can be substantial over long-term ownership, especially if driving habits involve frequent city commuting.
Interior, Comfort & Practicality
Seating: Five-passenger standard, with adequate room for front and rear occupants. Seat materials and trim vary by package — from durable fabric to higher-tier softer materials.
Cargo space: The RAV4 Hybrid preserves much of the standard RAV4’s cargo capacity, with rear seats that fold down (60/40 split) for cargo versatility. The raised seating position and SUV stance also make loading and unloading easier.
Ride comfort: Suspension is tuned to favor comfort and stability over sportiness. The hybrid setup contributes to a smoother ride thanks to electric-motor assist and reduced engine noise at low speeds.
Features: Depending on trim, buyers can expect amenities such as power liftgate, dual-zone climate control, rear privacy glass, and modern multimedia interfaces.
Technology & Infotainment
The RAV4 Hybrid includes Toyota’s modern infotainment system — touchscreen depending on trim level.
Smartphone integration is supported via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims, allowing navigation, media, and apps to be seamlessly used.
Multiple USB (or USB-C) ports are available for charging devices in front and back seats.
Higher trims may include premium audio and convenience features (e.g. power-adjusted seats, upgraded upholstery), enhancing comfort for families or daily commuting.
Safety & Driver Assistance
Standard across the hybrid lineup is Toyota’s driver-assistance suite: pre-collision system, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.
For extra safety, mid- to upper-level trims may offer blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, parking sensors, and more advanced convenience aids.
Stability control, traction control, and ABS are standard — ensuring the hybrid’s power delivery and AWD system remain safe under varied conditions.
The RAV4 Hybrid’s design emphasizes visibility and driver comfort, improving long-term comfort for daily driving and commuting.
Driving Experience & Use Cases
Urban daily driving: The hybrid delivers smooth stop-start performance and excellent fuel efficiency — ideal for commuting, errands, and city traffic.
Mixed commuting and road trips: The hybrid system handles highway speeds confidently; AWD adds security in poor weather or rougher roads.
Family or cargo use: The combination of SUV practicality, cargo space, and fuel savings makes the RAV4 Hybrid well-rounded for families, small road trips, or light adventure use.
Winter and all-weather driving: AWD hybrid gives confidence in snow or rain — a practical benefit in regions with seasonal weather shifts.
Pros & Trade-offs
Pros:
Very good fuel economy for an SUV.
AWD hybrid gives mix of efficiency and all-weather capability.
Balanced ride comfort and SUV practicality.
Reliable hybrid technology with Toyota’s reputation for durability.
Flexible cargo and seating options for everyday use.
Strong standard safety and driver-assist features.
Trade-offs / Cons:
Performance emphasizes smoothness and efficiency — not sportiness.
Cargo space is generous but not as large as full-size SUVs.
Hybrid complexity may add slightly more maintenance cost vs simple gas vehicles (though Toyota hybrids are well-regarded).
Upfront cost is higher than basic gas-only models, though payback comes via fuel savings.
Ride and handling are tuned for comfort — agile driving is not a primary goal.
Who the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid Is Best For
Commuters who want to save on fuel without sacrificing SUV practicality.
Families needing a dependable, efficient, and versatile SUV for daily driving, errands, and occasional travel.
Drivers living in climates with variable weather, benefiting from AWD and hybrid traction control.
People who want the convenience and flexibility of an SUV but value eco-conscious driving and lower running costs.
Anyone seeking a balance of efficiency, reliability, safety, and comfort in a compact SUV package.
Bottom line: The 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is a smart choice for those seeking a reliable, efficient, and versatile compact SUV. It combines the benefits of hybrid technology with practical SUV traits — making it a well-rounded option whether you’re commuting, traveling with family, or handling everyday tasks.

Toyota Automobile Model 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
Many of us believe that TOYOTA is a best brand and it will run at least for 100000 miles. I also felt the same and bought the car from a dealer earlier in 2013, a 2010 Toyota Camry. Now the miles is around 84000. All of the sudden the engine started to make noise. No rains, no animals, no accident. It started to behave on its own. The check engine light and VSC light started to glow, I am shocked to see this happening. I went to TOYOTA dealer. They said this is a serious problem. A car having trouble in engine within 84000 miles. I was also crazy to hear it.I called the Toyota Motors. They simply state the engine is out of warranty and they cannot help on this as they can provide only the warranty for 5 Years or 60000 miles. Even though I explained the situation they are not ready to listen anymore and they simply declined the request. With no other options left I have to go back to my Toyota dealer again. Now he me about 6000$. After an hour talk he reduced to 4000$. The part is coming only around 1000$ but the service charge they are asking for 3000$. The problem is with the ignition coil and when I read it in the websites there are chances that the car could have been gone uncontrol and its a risk factor for anyone to drive. Toyota is not ready to accept this as its fault. I believe they need to value the customers and their safety.
The car has efficient mileage which allows me to save on gasoline. The four door sedan is roomy and allows for easy entry and exit of passengers. The car is well manufactured so it allows me to keep driving it with minimal problems. It is reliable and easy to maintain. Additionally, the trunk is spacious and you can utilize every inch. The spare tire is full sized too and the air conditioner is well made and still running perfectly with no problems. But the drivers seat could be manufactured so that the headrest fits or forms behind the head better. The back support could also be improved. Moreover, the floor mats that were provided by the dealer could have fitted better since it sometimes slides back and forth.
Toyota - Very good on gas mileage, long lasting motor life and really a great investment for work or travel vehicle. Awesome value while driving low fuel expenses. Comfortable and great for long or short rides. You get more than the moneys worth, through and through. However, I dont like the thin fiberglass. Im worried about the safety and with the size. The compact design is also quite scary when on highways and interstates. Comparing to semis, trucks, vans, it is quite overwhelming where there are large vehicles. Just feels like one wrong move by me or another vehicle, would never end well. Should be more in between passengers and other vehicles.
As with most Toyota’s bulletproof comes to mind and this vehicle is no exception. Good connectivity in car along with a fairly comfortable ride. Drive range is good considering the weight when fully loaded, I averaged about 850kms for a full 76ltr tank. Great towing capacity at around 2 ton coupled with a deep tray gives you plenty of space. All around great car.
Toyota Canada Inc. Head Office 1 Toyota Place, Toronto ON, M1H 1H9. I have been reluctant since last year to write to you about the horrible service I received from your maintenance people who serviced my 2007 Matrix. It all started with a rhythmic feeling in the right side of the tire area. It was determined that the bearing had to be replaced and it was for $450. The problem was still there and I took it back and was told that it most likely was the left side bearing. Again a senior technician looked at it and told Charlene that it was tire cupping that was causing the problem. As I was at Costco I had brand new front tires ($400) installed.Absolutely no change in the feeling in front end as well as losing a pair of decent front tires. I felt foolish and taken for a ride at your dealership. I had to go somewhere and I took it to JD auto and they found the problem with the calipers as one of the pistons was seized and was biting into the rotor. Again more cost to me to replace all front breaks because your people did not do their job properly, I am very very reluctant to visit for any more maintenance for fear of not getting proper repairs without fear. Up to the time of these problems with your dealership I had no problems and was very happy with my visits and the friendly receptions. I have had muffler and parts installed since with JD Auto because of my distrust and reluctance to take my vehicle to your dealership. If you look up my maintenance records, you will see that I used you exclusively until last year because of my trust with the maintenance and repairs.I have since had a telephone conversation with Darrell but he just didn’t understand the ramifications on losing this consumer for new vehicles or maintenance. Since he has only been on his job for 8 months he would not commit to “what can I do for you” with what he could do for me. We left it at that. All the mistakes made at the repairs eventually cost me over 1300 dollars for no reason. Shameful for Toyota. No longer will I be looking for a Toyota product because of this incident.
My Venza is eight years old and looks almost new. Great overall utility crossover, from distance driving, hauling cargo or passengers, it has been a very reliable vehicle.
Purchased a new Toyota C-HR four weeks ago. The windshield cracked company across, right to left, car is not safe to drive. Replacement windshield is not available for minimum TWO MONTHS. Toyota will do NOTHING to rectify the situation, I now have a new vehicle that I am making payments on and cannot drive for at LEAST 60 days. Toyota has been 100% unwilling to do anything, I also will have to pay my insurance companys 245.00 deductible. Again, Toyota has be completely non-cooperative. Summary: I now own a brand new vehicle which cant be driven for at least two months. This is my third and LAST Toyota purchase.
We bought our Toyota Yaris brand new in 2008. After one year, the paint on the roof began to peel. At first it was just a small bubble of paint. But over the past few years, the peeling has spread to our entire roof. We asked the dealership about it and were told that it was our problem, that we would need to pay for a paint job. We couldnt figure out what was causing it. But we took the dealership at their word. Recently, weve noticed other Yaris with the same issue. Most of them have been blue, just like ours. All of the peeling paint has been on the roof. We just saw one today thats red. We talked with one of the owners and she showed us where the peeling paint had moved down toward the drivers side door. Toyota needs to do a recall for a free paint job. The resale value of the car is diminished by the slip-shot paint job.
Brought my Toyota Prius plug in premium in for 6 mo. ToyotaCare. Told it would be ready at noon, its now after 3 and still not ready. Im 90 and disabled. Need to go to CVS for RX, Called 3 times. Just told they would call when car is ready. ALWAYS POOR SERVICE FROM HANLEES SERVICE DEPT. Dont even answer their phone at times.
I bought a used 2006 Toyota RAV 4 for 1200 dollars. The miles were already getting up there but I could tell by the look of the car the previous owner had taken care of it. I have 4 kids who take every red cent to raise and this car was within my budget. But I thought if I got a year out of it to beat back and forth to work then it would serve its purpose. It would be a 1200 well spent. Id love to say that when I bought this car I took care of it just like the previous owner, but that would be a lie. I beat the car to hell, I didnt change the oil once in 4 years, not a filter or spark plug. I did nothing for this car the entire time I owned it except replace tires to pass inspection, replace wheel bearings, and put gas in it. This year I took it to be inspected and there is rust on the gas tank and other places and repairs would cost about 1000 dollars. I cant see spending 1000 dollars on a car that basically cost me as much. And there are over 375,000 miles on the thing now. But the engine is still going and the problems are all outside of it. I would love to see if I could hit half a million with this car and I think I probably could. Its a beast. And one of the best cars I have ever owned. Honestly I treated it so badly I dont know how its still running. But it is. Best car I have ever owned. Sadly I will be looking for a new beater for work as I cant doing the repairs makes any sense. But I would recommend this car to anyone.
Honestly I am not very satisfied with the change of vehicle I made since the car for which I made the change was in perfect condition - a Corolla of 2014 with only 21000 miles to get the new RAV4 Limited of 2019 and not even have a month and already have to change the differential sincerely and Im not very happy with this new SUV. Would have preferred to stay with my Corolla in the end. Did not give me problems all the time I was driving
There was recall on my car in 2002 and no informed me. Toyota Corporate or Richardson Toyota. Now they won’t even look at. Don’t buy a Toyota or if you avoid these Toyota Richardson and Toyota of Dallas. What they have done to me, overcharging for maintenance and rude service advisors. Hours of waiting. I and my wife will never buy a new car from Toyota.
2013 Toyota Camry - less than 23,000 mile - Steering Column must be replaced. Dealer has provided details. I have been told a decision has been made... no return calls. Refusal to allow me to speak w/ Mgr.
Toyota Celica was bought with over 200,000 miles on it 2 years ago... still running strong. I hope to keep it for awhile. I will have to invest some to keep it going.
Unfortunately a header cracked in our Highlanders engine and caused the entire engine to blow at less than 84,000 miles. As the mechanic at the Toyota dealership put it, This shouldnt have happened. After contacting the Customer Experience Department I was told that financial assistance in these situations is based upon customer loyalty and service records. We own a second Toyota that was purchased at a Toyota dealership a few years prior to our Highlander.Additionally, I offered to provide my service records but the Customer Experience Department already decided they werent going to help us recover any of the loss. The cost to replace the engine was $7,500. Toyota could have easily offered to pay $2,000 of the cost and kept me as a customer but apparently making intelligent business decisions is not a top priority for the Customer Experience Department. In total I gave Toyota over $60,000 for two automobiles in the last 7 years. My wife and I are in our 30s which means we will probably purchase another 10 cars in our lifetime. If half of those were Toyotas at an average cost of $30,000, that is $150,000 in revenue they just gave up because they refuse to assist a loyal customer. Congratulations Toyota, I will never buy another one of your automobiles again! You have officially lost me as a customer for life.
I purchased platinum service for approx. $900. I was not given 2 ignition keys but, rather 3 mechanical ones. I was promised another ignition key but after regular efforts on my part, never got one. I finally lost the one and only key I was given (2 years later, last month). I was given 3 estimates, ranging from $300 to $500, then after my car was towed to the dealership was told it would be $700 plus $200 for second key. Nothing is in the manual stating the extreme consequences of not having 2 keys. In the certified checklist, it only states master key. I feel like an essential part was not included; the second key. I was handed off daily from service dept to sales people resulting in not having my vehicle for 1 1/2 weeks when I gave in and paid up. Very poor customer service and hidden costs of new key.
I have owned two Toyota Camrys (1999 & 2005). The 1999 was a V6. I dont need to be specific other than to say, if you want drive a car that can easily last more than 200,000 without the expensive repairs, this is the brand to consider. Toyota should definitely earn the Most Reliable Japanese Car award. Look around when youre driving. What do you see most? Toyotas, BMWs, Hondas, etc. I dont remember any rental car companies that use Toyotas, which means every Toyota you see on the road are either owned or leased, and not rented. (I might be wrong, btw.) So, something for you to consider the next time youre in the market to buy cars.Tip to all the Toyota owners: If your mechanic tells you something is bad and your has less than 75,000 miles, he is lying to you. I have brought my Toyotas to many local shops (to save money from dealerships exaggerated cost for repairs) and they have suggested to replace the water pump, the radiator, this or that. I was wary and skeptical with their scare tactic approach, so I didnt fix it at that time. Now, 7 years later and with 127,000 miles, its still running smoothly. Of course, you still have your routine maintenance that needs to be replaced every few years (air filter, tires, batteries, etc). One mechanic told me, A Toyota with less than 100,000 is still considered almost new. You just have to make sure to change your oil every three to four thousand miles and tune up your car every now and then. These are his words, not mine. My owner manual states every 5000 miles for each oil change, but I think that also depends on how you drive it and how frequent it is driven. You can save a lot of $$$ if you buy it used.Bottom line is, if you want a car for the long-haul of saving money for many years to come, you should definitely consider buying a Toyota. Now, sometimes I wonder why Toyota owners even own Toyotas. I know I drive it because this car was handed down to me and Im just waiting for it to break down. I mean, lets face it: Tundra drivers dont drive it to haul stuff. (There are many other stronger trucks.) You cant show off your social status with an Avalon. (Again, there are way more other choices.) You cant pick up girls with Camrys. (Not sporty enough to be a sport car and not luxury enough to be a high-class car.) A Corolla is good for what? Prius are well-known for their electric cars, which have been in high demand this past decade. In my opinion, I think you will want to get rid of your Toyota before it will stop working on you.
Air conditioner died after 43,000 KMS. It will cost $1400 to repair I have never owned a car with an air conditioner die with less than 150,000 Im. I will never buy a Toyota product again. Time to trade in for another vehicle before something else happens. So much for Toyota reliability.
LC (Prado) seems still a reliable choice. Bought this in Switzerland, but all LC 150 are produced in Japan directly, so quality should be the same worldwide. That is the main reason for its reliability anyway. This facelift is so far (50000 KM) as well built as the predecessors. No problems whatsoever. The facelift overhaul got also rid of some design issues inside, like outdated looks and feel. Still Toyota and most Asian cars look a bit outdated (like 10 years back) inside compared to German cars for e.g., but the Toyota wasnt bought for superior gimmicks but for long lasting performance.Navigation is good, but a bit slow to pick up when booted. That is the only bad thing I could complain about. Missing functions: Smartphone integration does not have access to external antenna (shark-antenna only used for radio reception it seems) like even 10 year old premium Volkswagen/Audi/BMW/Mercedes etc do have. So your device will need to get out of the Faraday-cage inside the car, which deteriorates speech quality and introduced a lot of unnecessary EM-pollution to all passengers/driver easily exceeding exposure limits. This is true for all Toyota cars unfortunately. Also noise cancellation is inferior too...But this car shines with superior durability and offroad performance. Superior interleaving and 4 wheel drive. Excellent upgrade options. Only Range Rover Defender (useless for daily drive req. though) and G class Mercedes (overpriced) are a match of still produced cars. Engine is 2.8L Diesel with Toyota tuning to 200HP. In Europe Toyota is no longer selling the big LC 200 due to emission constraints.
White Pearl Paint peeling off vehicle in sheets. Due to factory faulty issues with primer that was used. Lots of people are having this issue with that. And sadly Toyota is not willing to admit to the factory problem with the primer. Never again.
They are very accommodating with my hectic work schedule. They always come and talk to me to let me know what issues if any need to be addressed especially in order of importance before doing any further work.
I purchased my 2018 Camry XSE 3 weeks ago and I love. Only thing I don’t like is that a remote start doesn’t come standard. After paying that amount of money I thought it would have remote start seeing as other cars of different makes and models but are sedans do have the remote start. I think it comes on the XSE V6 but that car is about $4000 more than my car. Toyota should be ashamed for not making that standard.
Horrible customer service. This is the worst Toyota site to come to. No one offered us a chair. We have been standing here looking stupid for more than 20 mins. All the workers are sitting down at their computers doing absolutely “NOTHING”!!!! I’ve watched a woman back up out of a space and hit a Mercedes twice and none of the workers went to help direct her out of the space. The one guy that walked up and pretended to be helpful and told me where we should park never came back to help us. I will never be coming back here. With his ** looking like looking & talking like Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel Air THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!
$3k ABS failure. 2 months out of government mandated warranty ext. Toyota has a reputation for reliability that couldnt be farther from the truth. From gas pedals sticking causing accidents, frames rusting into nothing barely out of warranty, hybrid batteries catching fire, and my personal experience ABS Actuator failing causing brake failure with my family in the car. Toyota after being forced by the NHTSA to recall 2006-07 Highlanders and 08-09 Camry skated extending that recall to 2008-10 Highlanders due to lower sales numbers and failure rates caused by our countries recession then. Supporting a company by buying vehicles from a company that conducts business this way is a mistake that misleads us all. Stay away from Toyota for the safety of your loved ones.
My mother used my car (better mileage) to pick up my daughter and once they came my car was parked in the garage with the door closed. I never questioned to check since my mom usually does this task just fine. I know her memory isn’t as sharp as it was 5 years ago but at age 62 she is showing some decline in memory. Anyway, I luckily needed to put boxes away in the attached garage and that’s when I found my car running with the garage door down with keys inside. It had been running for over an hour. The only thing that kept me and my kids from suffering was the electric features on this car kept the car from using gas to create CO levels quickly. There was some CO released enough to give me a headache but it could have been a silent killer for my family that night as we weren’t planning on leaving the home for another 30 hours. I was just questioning last week why I still pay my higher car payment on a great mileage vehicle when I work from home but now I know why. I won’t be trading her in anytime soon... it saved me and my kids lives.
My car is under a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty! My grill has peeled off twice now, same issue. The first time Toyota replaced it. No problem! The second time it happened they refused to do so saying that it looked like an outside influence like a pressurized wand. Duhhh I take it thru the car wash!! Consumers need to be aware that if you take your car thru a regular car wash and their cheap grill peels then its not their responsibility. So disappointed with Toyota. After years of owning them definitely going to change that!!
They took the DVD player out of their new minivans. Worst mistake ever in a family car. Don’t pay for the expensive rear entertainment package because it doesn’t work. Just trying to get more money out of people I guess. Not everyone can afford or wants to pay for streaming services. Give me back the DVD player I paid for.
The front driver seats edge of my 2019 Toyota Highlander is completely smashed and it makes driving and especially getting out of the car very uncomfortable (not even talking about the look and value of the 3 year old car). I noticed the problem almost a year ago, since then its been getting worse and I asked for the seat replacement last December, when the car was 2 years 8 months old and still under the full warranty. I went to the Desert Toyota and a manager there found my complaints reasonable and submitted a claim. We got a response from Toyota in about a month and they refused to replace or fix a seat under the warranty saying that its simply an outside influence. I believe that its ridiculous since I weigh 120lb and have less than 30,000 miles over those years. Moreover, this is my THIRD Toyota Highlander. Ive had the previous one for about 10 years and no problem with any of the seats with the same usage. Obviously something was wrong with that seat from the beginning and it should be replaced under the warranty.Otherwise, if its just normal wear and tear according to Toyota, what kind of garbage was it made from if it wont even last three years with average usage? Im not even talking about other minor issues that weve been having with that car. My previous Toyota started having more serious issues but only after about 7 years of usage. The first one was almost perfect. It looks like the quality of a Highlander is going down the drain. Definitely, its going to be the last Toyota that we buy.
This is a great car. It has all of necessities that I think of a car should come equipped with. It has great fuel mileage. Theres a nice smooth ride and a lot of extra perks. Its not too low to the ground so you dont feel like youre sitting on the ground. It also has a large trunk enough space to comfortably fit 5 people. And everything inside is touchscreen. This car also comes in a ton of different colors and you can completely customize it any way you want. Not to mention affordable. And I love the way this car is easy to handle. Its a very nice overall car to have. But I would like to see more features on the vehicle well that would make it more appealing to people who like technology. I would also like it do defrost work faster because here in the cold winter months it takes forever to thaw your car out.
I called them up and complained about the dealership where I bought the car from. They pretty much told me I got a deal with them by myself to calling the dealer and solve the problem myself. I talked with Whitney and Randal my case # **. If they cannot help you why they are there for? Calling the dealership it’s like throwing the rocks on the wall. I did call. They never called back. This is how Toyota care about their customers. I would never ever buy another Toyota and I would never recommend a Toyota to anyone and I will tell everyone else stay away from Toyota dealers. I feel like like I’ve been discriminated by them because my accent in my language. I’m immigrant from Europe. They take it advantage on me because they thinking I don’t understand. Shame on you Toyota. Shame on you.
In 2015 I went to a dealership in Lawrence, KS where I was approved for a car loan for the RAV-4 hybrid. In hindsight I am not sure I should have been approved for the loan. I told them how much I thought I could afford a month with insurance included. They quoted me a price, when I said I couldnt afford the insurance the floor manager said that he would make a phone call then sold me liability insurance. He said I didnt need comprehensive insurance only liability. After a few months I realized I couldnt afford the payments. I went to the dealership in the new state I was living to ask for advice about what to do in my situation. They insisted that I go in person to speak with one of their sales reps. When I arrived the sales rep I was assigned was relentless. I got flustered, I had mentioned several times I needed to leave to take the night to think about what to do however, I ended up leaving with a car I didnt want. I was a single mom, my daughter was getting restless. When signing the paperwork we looked into switching the insurance plan over to the new car, that is when I was told that legally I was required to have full coverage insurance on a car if you have a loan. In the end I left with a car I didnt want because I thought it would be affordable but cost me the same. Since I have had this car (2016 Prius), the handle came off when I went to open the door. The dealership said they wouldnt cover the cost because they determined it had come off due to someone forcefully opening the door. Three years after having the car the AC stopped working. I was told it was due to the air conditioning radiator damper servo sub assembly malfunctioning. I was told again that Toyota would not cover the cost to repair it and it would cost me over $1,000 to repair it. I do claim responsibility for my naivete and for not educating myself more before walking into a car dealership. My experience was not great. I suspect the dealership in Lawrence is manipulating paperwork to give loans to people who would otherwise not be approved for those loans. And erroneously advising customers to purchase liability insurance. I will never buy from Toyota again. I would never advise anyone to.
I am writing regarding my concern about a technical service bulletin that I recently became aware of. My husband and I keep all documentation from our cars and mailings that we receive and to be honest we do not have anything in our files that Toyota sent us regarding the oil consumption problem. I have a 2009 Matrix that I purchased at the end of July 2008. Recently I have had to put between 2-4 quarts of oil into my car in between oil changes. Recently when I had my car at my mechanic he was the one who mentioned this issue to me so I contacted the dealership in North Attleboro where I purchased the car 10 years ago. The person that I spoke with told me to come in and they could start an oil consumption test and if they found anything he mentioned they would replace the pistons and look to see what else needed to be done.Today when I brought my car in I was informed that I was no longer eligible and would have had to had this completed by the end of July since that is 10 years from when I purchased my car or 150K miles whichever came first. I am currently at 128,000 miles. I am very frustrated that they have extended this program but have no flexibility in helping a customer when it happens a couple months after they are out of the 10 year period. As mentioned I am still under the mileage.I called the customer care line today and spoke with a woman who could only read me verbatim what I already knew and could not offer any other resolutions. I am saddened that Toyota does not stand behind their products with known issues when they happen outside of a certain time period. I will be submitting something to the BBB to and the reference number for the contact I have had with Toyota is **. I would hope that others who have this same issue are offered a solution. At this time I know that my solution is you will have likely lost at least 3 households who have been loyal to Toyota in the past.
It took some significant persistence but we finally got a meeting with the GM. Steve Phillips ended up being a good man of high integrity. He apologized for the whole incident and made this right with us and we very much appreciate it.
My friend and I were looking for a car for me. We went to a car place and found a grey Toyota. Its a very nice plain color and the inside is nice as well. It works very well, good to drive around and no gas problems. But sometimes it wont lock right away when I press the lock button on my keys. Other than that a lot of my friends and family love the car. Not all cars are the same but, some cars are definitely worth having.
I inherited this Toyota Rav4 from my mother when she stopped driving. It works good for hauling kids, dogs and gardening supplies plus can handle 5 small bails of straw with ease. I also like the power locks and power windows and I love the 4 wheel drive. The car runs great, good on gas, handles great and can make it through a MN winter. I can make it up my drive way during the winter. But I would have liked better tires and wish it was less like a station wagon. And Id like it if it is higher off the ground, I feel like Im getting into a car and not a SUV. I also wish it had tilt steering and blue tooth.
I love the interior design and its fuel consumption rates. This model is also easy to maintain since most of the spare-part are readily available. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a cheap and easy to maintain type of vehicle. Herbert from fine-writers.com.
Toyota Sequoia has a nice ride to it and handles well for a large SUV. It has a large storage capacity and many compartments for additional storage. The engine has power to pull a trailer with air conditioning on. The gears shift smoothly and provide enough torque.
I purchased a 2018 Toyota Highlander Ltd Platinum from Classic Toyota in Tyler Texas. My Toyota purchased was based on commercial and current owner reviews. Other than the “color transfer” issue (dyes from my years old and routinely washed scrubs and jeans coming off on the leather seats), I’ve been relatively happy with the car. The thing that has driven me crazy are the electronics. I came from a BMW, that was too small and uncomfortable, but drove great and I guess I got spoiled by their electronics. I could have 2 phones connected and receive calls on either of them on Bluetooth. Not on the Highlander (JBL GreenEdge). It takes 5 or 6 button pushes (while I’m driving!) to change from one paired phone to another. It also occasionally just drops the phone in the middle of a call and I have to reconnect. The weather app also is rudimentary, at best. It never gives me the weather for the area I’m in. If I’m in downtown Dallas, it gives me the weather for Terrell, TX (40 miles away, a 10th the size of Dallas, and a town I’ve never looked up on my weather app)!!! I called Entune (a cumbersome worthless app IMHO) support. She was very pleasant, but completely useless. She looked at the manual. I read the manual! I needed more! Apparently Toyota doesn’t offer more than a crappy inefficient app, bad connectivity, and a GPS (for the weather) that hopefully doesn’t have to ever locate you in case of an accident!
I would like to know if anyone had a ticking or clinging sound, but didnt know from where. I thought maybe I had a nail on my tire so was gonna get it checked out but didnt have a chance to due to my car breaking down and notice that day the noise got louder that day. Well my car started to jerk and smoke from my engine and completely shut down while I was entering the hi-way. Well Toyota is where I maintenance my vehicle and not once did they ever tell me if anything was wrong with my car. I have had my engine light and my maintenance light on, I took it to Auto Zone. First they had told me that it was my battery and starter. So I replaced my battery first but notice that my engine light and maintenance light will go off and on. I thought it was just the starter since It hadnt been replaced with a new one. I also notice that it sounded like the piston were working too hard... Something just didnt sound right. My husband notice that the dip stick showed no oil. So I went to PEP BOYS and did a oil change since it was just around the corner. Then the next day or two it sounded like I had no oil and showed low again, so they redid oil changed again with no cost. After that I recall taking my car to Toyota to do another oil change not too long after that. Its been almost a year since this happened with my lights and oil. Now Toyota is saying that noise that I was hearing was that something came loose inside the engine. I dont believe that for one bit. I believe it was a knocking in the engine due to not having enough oil. My oil change was supposed to be coming up at the end of November. My vehicle has been broken down for about 2 weeks or more and Toyota does not want to fix it. If something came apart in my engine I will call that a defect on their end. Im not an expert of knowing if something is wrong with my car... I would think that theyll be the ones to let me know since I maintenance my vehicle with them. I will never buy another vehicle through them!
From the time we walked on to that lot was a nightmare. I should have turned around. First off, while making a deal for a trading my vehicle they kept my car key. I asked several times for my key back so I could leave. Not sure if they thought this was a tactic. Rest assure it was not. After about 1.5 hours of waiting (they would keep going back to GET MY KEY) and coming back empty handed we finally agreed to some numbers and went through with the trade/sale. We paid $2,600 for an extended PLATINUM TOYOTA warranty that was to EXTEND the warranty 100,000 miles. Once we were done, we were about to leave and we asked for the pre-certified paperwork. They tried to tell me that it was pre-certified. I looked at the windshield-huge sign that said-PRE-CERTIFIED. It was well under the mileage and the year was 2014. We had to fight to get that paperwork. Then they had to have ME bring the vehicle back to THEIR lot a week and a half later to COMPLETE the pre-certification inspection. THEY NEVER DID A PRE-CERTIFIED INSPECTION? On top of that, took the vehicle in about 1 year later due to the fan on the AC going out. The guy told me that it was almost out of warranty. Are you kidding me? We paid $2,600 for an extra 100,000 miles and I sure as hell know that we did not get even close to the original 100,000 miles. Later that week my husband called to talk to them. He got the runaround (I am sure most of you know exactly what I am talking about here). Sooo, he went to the car lot. He was able to talk with the RODNEY **-SALES AIDA **-CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER and the finance guy and he told my husband that he was sorry that he made a mistake on the information he gave us that day! What??? So he and my husband called to Toyota finance office and the lady said Yeah this is suppose to have an extended (EXTENDED) warranty. The finance guy told my husband that he will email the information to him that day. About an hour after my husband got home he still did not have an email with that EXTENDED warranty. So he called the finance guy. He was told Oh, I am sorry I can not honor that extended warranty. Are you ** kidding me??? Then we called to cancel the extended warranty and were told well since you have used 3/4 of the warranty you will be prorated at 1/4 of the $2,600 we paid for it. WTF Explain this to me... and I am a blonde but am smart enough to know we do NOT need to warranty 100,00 miles we ALREADY have warrantied. Why in the HELL would we pay $2,600 for 100,000 mile warranty when we have the FACTORY 100,000 mile warranty? We would NOT do that. We were to have an EXTENDED warranty. Do they even know the definition of EXTENDED?Hell no, they do not know crap. I will never step foot back on their lot or any lot they are associated with. They purposely lied and deceived us, the finance guy admitted it. But still got screwed. The least they could have done was given us the $$2,600 we paid for a warranty that we ALREADY ** had. WARNING---STAY AWAY FROM FAYETTEVILLE AUTO PARK--- I will tell you who to go see..the guys at McLarty Daniels. My son and husband bought trucks from them within 3 months of each other. Amazing people! One made a mistake...owned up to it...and corrected it!!! They have *****5 STARS***** from me!
Purchased my Tundra new in 2002. I cared for this truck inside and out except when it came to my rusted and unsafe frame. My truck is in excellent mechanical condition and I get a lot of compliments on its appearance. Everything works great with 107,000 miles logged. My mechanic says he probably will not be able to pass the truck for inspection within a year or so. His advise, get rid of it and trade it in. I usually like to sell my trucks outright but he says that I will create a bad situation to sell it to a friend or a private party. So, I have driven Toyota cars all my life and I really take care of them. There is nothing wrong with this truck! Because of the safety issue I will need to trade my vehicle (while I still can) on years before I should need to. Toyota claims there is nothing they can do and its my problem. Bottom line, I will never purchase or lease another Toyota vehicle and will let my children, friends and others know. Bad customer service! Toyota has lost a customer(s) for life. Penny wise and dollar foolish.
My name is Andrew ** and I work in the automotive industry. I am a Team Leader at a Toyota Dealership in Lancaster, Ohio. I have been around, owned or driven hundreds of makes and models of cars new and used. I have also owned my fair share. Recently I purchased a 2017 Toyota 4Runner JTEBU5JR9H5470030 (Sep. 2, 2017) and within the first couple hundred miles of driving in I noticed a really bad steering wheel shimmy/walk/shake. I am not sure what is the best way to describe it. I brought it back into the dealership (at that time I worked at a Kia dealership) to have them look at it. They balanced the wheels and checked the alignment and said it was fixed. I picked it up and nothing was fixed so the car ended back up in the shop for the another I believe 9 days as they tried to balance the tires. Bought new equipment to balance the tires better, switch tires and wheels from another 4Runner to finally saying that all 4 tires were no good and switching them out and using the new machine to road force balance them. Did it help? Yes it did for about a week. Unfortunately it all came back just the same. At this point I was tired of dealing with it so I just figured I would suck it up an accept it because it was only a lease and even though I wanted to buy it out at the end I didnt have to. Then in February I ended up getting a positon at the Toyota dealership and the problem was bothering me so bad still that I decided to try again to get it fixed since I didnt have to drive my car anywhere extra because now I worked there. Again they road force balanced the tires and said it was fine and then another week or two went by and I asked them to check the alignment which was off (probably from the constant shimmy) and they fixed that. I even reached out to Toyota to see if they would buy the car back since I was a good Toyota client. They said that the car was within guidelines. So here I am.I am not trying to get rich or get a settlement. All I want is for someone to look into this long existing problem that the Toyota 4Runner has that Toyota denies. It might never help my situation out but maybe just maybe it could help someone else out in the future. I am attaching some links that will show you that this is been a long ongoing problem that Toyota wont address. If you need to reach me other than by email my cell phone number is ** and my work number is ** Thanks for listening.
I bought this 2010 Toyota Sequoia over a year ago with 100000 miles. It is white, which is easy to keep clean. It has been very dependable so far. It has never stranded me and I love the moonroof and the audio system too. It also handles well for a large vehicle and I feel safe in this vehicle. But it only gets about 15 miles per gallon and it is expensive to operate. It is also hard to park due to its gigantic size. I wish it had some other features on it like a keyless entry. But Toyota is a very good brand.
I was pretty much pressured into buying an extended auto warranty for my new car. I never needed to use it; it expired and I havent had any major repairs in 16 years. Consumer Reports advises against buying the warranties. I bought my daughter one, and canceled it to get my money back.
I took Toyota Sequoia in for Takeda Air Bag recall... Left unable to access the back of the car. I asked if they could check the back trunk of car since the air conditioning might be leaking. They broke the back handle to open the trunk off and CLAIMED it was missing when I dropped the car off. Funny thing is at 6:30 am when I took a case of water out of the back it was just fine. The service manager, Jason said, It is an old car, things break. My appointment was at 7 am, it was there and working at 6:30. Strange? I said they broke and need to fix it and he said that he will not, unless of course, I want to pay. They broke it, I am positive. I asked if they had cameras so we could look at the footage (of them breaking it) and conveniently my car was outside, not near any cameras.I opened a complaint with Toyota Corporate and other than they are lovely to speak with they did not care at all. They are kind and continue to say how sorry they are for this negative experience but claim there is nothing they can do to assist me. I ended up purchasing the part from another Toyota dealer for $129.00. They were unable to install due to their schedule (keep in mind I have been unable to open the trunk for weeks now), so I took it to local repair shop for another $160. My airbag recall cost me! When I told Toyota Corporate numerous times I felt they should cover my cost they said they are sorry but cannot help! Seriously? I told them I have receipts I can give them... nothing. They are like talking to the wall. The dealership (Glen Toyota in Fair Lawn NJ) told Toyota Corporate they offered to install without charging labor, just charging for parts. They did NOT offer this. They offered nothing but rather insisted they did not break it.
Its a 2012, and Ive had it since then. It has never given me any problems outside of maintaining the normal course of use. Its reliable and uses regular gas which is a great savings! Great car. Its a good car for a woman or a single owner who will not be rough or abuse it. If handled well and maintained regularly, it will perform well and never let you down. I feel safe when Im driving it.
I had been driving Toyota Vios 1500CC for 10 years, few repair needed and satisfying performance compare to other car at similar price, allow to be sold in Malaysia. The overall quality of the Toyota Vios is satisfying at this price, just the agent providing the service on behalf Toyota is disappointing, not up to the Toyota quality and no better choice for the situation in Malaysia.
My Toyota Solara Convertible is an excellent car and fun to drive. It has a lot of room seating wise and holds 4 people comfortably, has good trunk space, and good gas mileage. I love the fact that its a convertible and its a great car for the climate in Arizona. But Toyota stopped making this model... its a fantastic car with so many positive features. We did have an issue with a crack in our dashboard, but it was a warranted issue, so it was promptly remedied, completely to our satisfaction. Toyota makes a terrific automobile and has an excellent reputation, they stand by their product and have a great service record.
OK, at first I loved this car bought it used with only 29,000 miles on it. Its very attractive and pleasing to the eye. Love the Sea Glass Pearl color. Now, having driven it 15K+ miles, I feel it is important to share some observations. Great mileage, you bet. Easy maneuverability, yes. So what is the issue? Visibility!! It is poor. The back door split design stinks. The car is low and with the little mini windows in front of the regular windows, it is a challenge to see some things that a higher car with single windows allow for. If you bump into anything, you are talking a major repair as the entire bumper needs replacement. That costs almost $800. And, it has happened to me twice. Once backing up at dusk with a ships anchor in the dirt along the fence, not visible because of being too low. Second, hitting a part of a broken wall that, again, was not visible due to being too low. I AM a good driver in case youre wondering but my height and the cars proximity to the ground make it a quick victim of any really low edifice even parking concrete bumpers. I thought this was going to be great but the visibility has changed my mind. Other issue, the cockpit design with the raised storage between seats is very inconvenient. This was obviously designed by a man and not a woman. Toyotas in general are getting a bad rap since assemblage in the US of A. Used to be great cars. Id say try something else!
Toyota dealer has had my 2016 Tacoma for 9 weeks waiting for components to fix leak in rear Differential that can result in a safety hazard. Though they have provided a loaner (I had to provide credit card), I am limited as to who can drive their loaner and have to keep going and renewing loaner/rental documentation, and calling the dealer and Toyota. Everyone is sorry... but I am paying for a vehicle I have not got, satellite radio I cannot use, and have had some major rearranging to do as far as work and vacation related travel due to this. They cannot give me an ETA (and I know how MFG works, there are schedules) of parts. 9 weeks is WAY TOO LONG to have a vehicle held hostage. I am really frustrated.
It is with deep regret that after being a Toyota customer for numerous years and having owned over 10 of their vehicles that I am finally throwing in the towel and no longer buying their cars/trucks. Nothing but problems with my Highlander and Tundra and the company could care less. The brakes are constantly failing and numerous people I have spoken to are saying the same. It is my feeling that Toyota has become a bit like GM did years back and we all know how that turned out. Undoubtedly Toyota was once in my opinion the maker of fine cars but with several of the competitors stepping up more and more Toyota has lost their way. My family has purchased over $250,000 worth of Toyotas in the last few years and I would say we are done. No fault of the dealer as they tried to step up but the company did not and does not stand behind their vehicles. I always enjoyed the residual value of a Toyota but cannot in good conscience encourage anyone to now buy a Toyota product.
It’s through the dealership and I trust that it will get fixed correctly. It is not from some third party company who I have no idea is legitimate or not. You never know till the first time you need help.
My car tire blew out. I spoke to service they have no records of extended tire warranty. I purchased a 5 year extended warranty. So I have to get it verified with finance dept. No ONE in the finance picks up and can’t get anyone on phone to help. There are no branch managers or assistant managers past 5 pm. So ridiculous how you are open and no manager. Stuck on side of road with flat tire and can’t get Toyota to help me. Extended warranty for what? To waste money and not get any service when needed.
My name is Viren ** and I bought my Venza AWD from Canada brand new with top model and I paid about 46000 Canadian dollar and I took extended warranty for 7 years bumper to bumper. My bad luck that I moved to USA for my business and I didnt know that if I register my vehicle from Canada to USA then all warranty void. And it gone. I paid for my warranty about 2100 dollar and I never use it. They gave me back about 600 dollar in 2015, at that time my car mileage was 68000 kms (about 42000miles). After that I start servicing and oil change in Greenville Toyota for my both car Sienna limited and Venza. I used to pay for just oil about 90 dollar which is too costly. So I start to buy oil from Autozone and one of mechanic he change it for me with 15 dollar labor.Recently 2 week ago I was driving my Venza from 40 to 60 mile zone and suddenly I heard a bad noise and start to come out little smoke. So I just stopped on road and try to check it out and I found that lots of oil was leaking and my car couldnt start again so I towed to Greenville Toyota. They people diagnosis and told me that, Your engine block has hole so your engine is gone and now you have to replace it and cost will be about 7100 dollar. I was shocked, before that never I got any engine light indication and suddenly this happened. I talked with Toyota customer service and try to help me out and how come just 64000 mile engine can gone. And they told me that might be there will be lubricating problem with engine so that is happened. Because of I never did service with them since 2016 so. If I used to service with them then they can try to say something else but never say that about machine faulty or bad parts. I read review online about Venza engine and people says that VVT-i engine is famous to with bad impression. After that I went to Hendricks Honda in Greenville and just ask them about the cost of fixing my car and they gave me quote is 5100 dollar with 3 years or 36000 mile warranty on engine. So I moved my car from GREENVILLE TOYOTA TO HONDA. Today my car is fixed by Honda just like brand new. I used to big fan of Toyota and I am driving Toyota both my vehicle since 2008 but this incident and response from Toyota. I will never buy Toyota vehicle and I will never went to Greenville Toyota. My Venza is low mileage car and driven by my wife all the time just in town and still this happen with luxuries car for I paid almost 50000 dollar and company say your power train warranty from company expired on 60000 mile so we cant do anything. From my experience I learnt that nowadays Toyota has to commitment with customer like used to be. So think about it to buy a vehicle from Toyota. I would prefer to go to Honda or some other car company who can provide good service and at least accept any defect if there.
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid only allows for Apple Play compatibility when using the GPS system. I dont have an Apple phone. I have an Android phone. Toyota refuses to update GPS system for compatibility to Android. They only did this in 2020 to include both Apple Play and Android capabilities. They refuse to update my 2019 that I purchased October 2019 and I feel that they are favoring Apple. Not everyone has an Apple phone, me included. I feel this is discriminatory towards those owners of Android phones and that Apple has paid off or done a deal with Toyota to exclude Android Users.
Ordered a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid on March 7. The dealer informed me that it was built on May 27 and should be delivered in about two weeks. Its now July 11 and I am still waiting. Toyota will not tell me why delivery has been delayed. No one at the dealer or at Toyota Canada HQ will come clean about the reason for the delay. I will never buy a Toyota product again.
Great car! But Toyota does not manufacture the this model. If Toyota did, I would buy another one. The MR2 is fantastic, mine is 15 yrs old. The car is a convertible, manual transmission, 2 seater.
I have owned 5 different Toyotas for over 20 years and can not believe what corporate told me about my 2018 automatic transmission problem. Because I live in Wisconsin we can have problems with tires spinning on snowy days. Toyota said that because my cars front tires spun and the back tires did not move that the broken transmission was my fault. It has less than 25000 miles and should have been covered under their bumper to bumper warranty. They say they will pay for the transmission BUT I must pay for the labor cost of over $800. All sounds fishy to me. On top of it Toyota corporate says that if the same conditions occur in the future I should call for a tow and not spin tires at all! They say they will deny any future claim, under the same circumstances, as they are this one. They, also, could not (or would not?) tell me what part of the transmission is broken. I plan on going on social media to warn any potential owners of 2018 and beyond Toyota autos with automatic transmission, if you live in cold climates please think twice about buying one of their cars. It could be a crap shoot for you!
Safety for sure when I drive the vehicle. The brand of Toyota, it make from Japan, so many people liked to used that, cause they had valuable to me. I would recommend to my friends. Also Winter time, the snow control, push on there before to drive, makes the car controllable and survey safe on the road.
Well, it is a Toyota so I bought a 2019 Avalon XLE Hybrid primarily for its reliability. However, it has two major flaws. Firstly, it is supposed to provide 43 mpg, but actually it is a lot less. Currently, it is 34.6 mpg. Secondly, for a pretty luxurious car I expected it to have all the safety features for which Toyota is famous. Unfortunately, it turned out that it is missing Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Parking Assist. When I called Toyota and asked if these features could be installed, I was told that it was too complicated. Big disappointment.
Having owned several Toyotas, I considered them to be good reliable vehicles and never had a reason to question the warranty. After 6 months and about 3,000 miles I noted that my rear taillight assembly was lost. At the Sweet Toyota dealership, the body shop manager noted that there was no damage to the taillight and offered that one of the 2 screws attaching it to the body must have been over-torqued on installation. The 2 screws go into a metal clip embedded in the molded plastic taillight unit. My local dealership offered to split the $180.00 cost for a new unit because Toyota would not consider that as a warranty part. The help line at Toyota told me they would reimburse me up to $100.00 if I sent in a receipt because I was such a good customer. Why was I asked to play these games? Why doesnt the dealer and Toyota handle this without involving me and my money up front. Please note, this wasnt a light bulb, it was a molded plastic unit similar to a plastic bumper or fender piece. Maybe Toyota should list what items are actually covered under their warranty rather than simply excluding fair wear and tear items like tires and wiper blades. What are the odds that I will consider Toyota for my next new vehicle?
Absolutely love this car. Very fun and great gas mileage. The only thing I dont like is there in is not trunk or back seat space but for me its okay since I dont have kids and arent planning on it.
My car is a Toyota and I like it a lot. It is a pretty car and the price of it was a bargain, so I am very happy with the price of the Toyota that I bought a few years ago. Features are pretty standard and the radio could be better. I am glad I bought a Toyota a few years ago. It is now running really well and the color is staying the same. It has had some mechanical problems, so I hope there are no more problems. And I dislike the radio, no electric windows and nothing is really digital, but the car was cheap. I would also like a different color like charcoal. Still, my overall experience with the Toyota is good.
I have a Toyota and it is great on gas. It has lots of features. One of them been the phone on the dashboard. Important for emergency call. Another when you turn on the car, the doors close automatically. Nice design. It has many more things that it would take me too much time. It is a smart car. I just got it last year.
It was a very cheap used car and hasnt given me any issues yet. Its excellent on gas & its a very nice and cute little car for being 18 years old. Fingers crossed! Toyotas tend to be made well & hold up longer and go many miles more than other models. And they hold their value really well. However, the radio is really old & it cannot connect to cell phone. Plus could be louder with better bass. Also the knob doesnt always work when turning volume.
I love my Toyota. It is a very good car and was the best one Ive had so far. My family loved it as well. I will always stand by a Toyota. I am going to be looking for another one soon. I would like to improve its safety but the drive was amazing. Very smooth and never had any problems with it.
The back side of the passenger side rear view mirror fell off the car and was lost. The dealer was of no help in finding a replacement part, or in addressing service issues. I have had to have several known Toyota issues fixed during other visits to the dealer.
Purchased a brand new Toyota 4Runner in 2016. At 64000 miles, just over warranty, it experienced a stuck lifter in the cylinder head. Leaked all the oil, and scored the piston walls. No check engine light, no low oil pressure alarm, nothing to signify anything was wrong with the vehicle. Toyota denied the warranty claim and now we are stuck with a 6600 bill to replace the engine. I have always been a toyota fan, have owned them all my life, but I will now be looking at other options. Beware, this could happen to you.
Engine blew a piston and could not be repaired. FRS was only 5 years old. It had less than 80,000 miles on it. Company would not help cover cost even though it happened within 45 days of an engine recall.
I am a fan of Toyota and recommend people to buy Toyota Cars. I myself bought Toyota cars. I recently was looking for a Toyota Sienna LE and I spoke to Toyota Klamath Falls and they agreed to a price with me and gave me the go-ahead to come to their dealership for a van even I told them that I am coming far from the dealership more than 60 miles they confirmed me that they will sell at the agreed price. When I and a friend of mine reached there, I double checked (even though the car has scratches all over but they agreed to fix that) with them before running of my credit check, the sales guy again confirmed the same price and asked me to sign on certain papers. I did that, but, after some time he came back with a different price which was $400 more than the agreed price and said either buy on this price or leave the dealership which was rude. I decided not to buy the car on principles I didnt want myself to be tricked on this dirty trick of them. They didnt give us any copies of anything like the documents which I signed and rudely said that they are not giving us anything and leave. We called Toyota customer service but it was not available since it was Sunday. I would not recommend this dealership to anybody and beware of their dirty tricks. The VIN number of the car is **, please beware this car has scratches everywhere.
I purchased 2015 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid from Toyota AutoNation, Austin, TX. I bought also 5 years protection plan. My car is 29K mileage. I have visited Richardson, TX last Friday and they charged me $88 for service and told me that, I could only go to Austin Toyota AutoNation or PepBoys for service free. Isnt that weird, you are paying additionally $1800 to take care of your car by Toyota and they tell you this. While I was buying this protection plan I dont think so someone mentioned it because I wouldnt buy then, I check all documents and never seen anywhere at all. Please contact me asap. Thanks.
So back in 2017 I had an auto accident where I was found not at fault and I was given a large sum of cash from my insurance to help pay for a new vehicle. During the time of obtaining the funds I decided to try to head back to Toyota and get another Toyota Camry Hybrid as this was my all time favorite vehicle and to this date and time still is.Well needless to say me and my wife head down here and I was approached immediately which I told one rep I was here to buy a new Toyota Camry Hybrid. He attempted to ask me sales pitch questions like whats my number or figure I am looking at with cash down and what kind of payment. I immediately told him to give me time to go over the features in the vehicle, colors available, and pricing. The sales guy agreed and showed me the lot and long story short he once more once near the vehicles asked me again about price, down payment, cash or financing and I cut him off and said, Look I wont say that right now, because I need to see the vehicles and colors. Once I located the one I wanted I simply asked what is the overall price of the vehicle I found. He then tried to gain more information on what I wanted and again cash flow.I told my wife we were leaving. I am not going to waste my time with this guy. I simply never dealt with this before as this must have been a new tactic by this particular person, but the last sales guy I dealt with was not even close to being this ignorant or pushy. I went to another dealer which was not the same model I wanted, but nonetheless I did not deal with any of the aggravation I dealt with here. The reason I kept this information from the sales guy was simple. They use that information against customers. Colors, features, cash down, and financing is easy to push a higher valued vehicle with more features than I wanted or needed. I know this, because my Uncle was a Salesman and taught me what they do. All I simply wanted to do was point out the vehicle I wanted to explain all the details afterwards.
Ever since I bought my new 2018 Toyota Highlander last August I’ve been accumulating an unreasonable amount of paint chips. I ordered Toyota’s touchup paint after my first service visit however, it was too cold to apply at the time. Since then I’ve accumulated over seventy paint chips mostly on the front of my car. The chipping is only on the metal parts not any of the plastic parts. I took my car to the Toyota dealer with my concerns and their Service Manager told me to call corporate Toyota. My Case Manager there opened a case and then told me to call the Toyota dealer for further instructions. I called their Service Manager and was told to take my car to a body shop and get an estimate. I took it to the closest body shop and they said it appeared the paint was applied “soft” then he gave me an estimate. A couple days later my Toyota Case Manager called again and told me the Dealer should’ve sent me to a specific auto body shop because they needed paint tests done. She sent me to a Toyota certified body shop where the owner took my car into their shop and looked it over. He then walked me over to another Highlander that had 52,000 miles to compare, there weren’t any paint chips on it. The shop owner told me there is an “excessive amount of paint chips for a car of my age and mileage”. Long story short my Toyota Case Manager called and said there is nothing they can do for me because all the paint tests were within a normal range. My car was purchased in August of 2018 and is only 7 months old and already needs a new paint job. The paint chips started when I bought the car and every day I drive it I accumulate even more paint chips. I now have a seven month old car that already need a new paint job. Despite two separate body shops saying this is not normal Toyota says it is normal and refuses to do anything about it.
This is regarding Toyota case #** that I have filed for Toyota Of Dallas when I purchased 2018 Rav4 XLE on April 27, 2018. Its been 4 business days and still this issue has not been resolved yet. Let me describe you the details about this issue - I got the OTD with student grad offer for that vehicle one day prior before purchasing that vehicle and I also filled out my loan application to save 1.5 hours as mentioned in your website. When I came to Toyota of Dallas dealership, the salesman told me that I am not eligible for student grad offer even though I submitted my diploma and proof of income (As per Toyota, I should be eligible to get this offer as I have all the documents and excellent credit history and score). So, I ended up getting another OTD for this vehicle. When I went to Toyota Financial Advisor for this dealership, he told me I can get student grad offer but I have to purchase extended warranty as well otherwise I cannot get that offer. But I had told him that I do not want extended warranty but only GAP insurance. At last, I ended up signing contract as I was exhausted, starving as I hadnt had any meal. Even though I had OTD for this vehicle and I submitted loan application online, it took me about 4.5 hours to get this vehicle out. I know this dealership usually takes time to make customer exhausted so they can play with their numbers. When I came home, and started looking out contract, there should be 2 contracts which the Financial Advisor told me but instead there was 3 contracts (last contract he just attached to my other paperwork). The Financial Advisor told me if I submit last year tax document, then my monthly payment for vehicle will be 406, if not then 419, then how come there was another contract with 456 (As you can see, they make me sign electronically in pad and there was nothing except signature box)? Then I open a case against this dealership with Toyota. So, next day I went to the dealership and told Internet sales manager Syed to let me meet to one of the PR Manager, then he told me, “I am the manager.” So, I told him that I dont know about that. After that, he told me to get out of this building as I was disrespecting him. How I am going to know who he is until he show me some proof? And this dealership is treating customer like a piece of crap after buying vehicle. How can a manager say to customer to get out of the building instead of trying to resolve the issue? So, today I called Toyota again as I had not receive any response yet from dealership. Finally, today I got a call from Director from Toyota of Dallas around 2 PM and he told me that I have to submit 2 years of Tax document in order to qualify for student grad offer. So, at this point the dealership are just telling me whatever they want because another Financial Advisor told me to submit only last year tax document. I told him that and I told him what my numbers should be and then he told me that he will review and call me back. The dealer is closed right now and I have not receive any call yet. Does it take more than 7 hours to review this case? Its been 7 days I have been stressing out due to this reason. So, could you try to escalate this issue to be resolve asap? I wish it would have been a happy purchase but the fraud/false activities of this dealership wont making us customers happy. Also, PFAs for contracts and paperwork and at this point, even though If I submit my tax return, I do not know which amount is going to be my monthly payments? I want to remove extended warranty and GAP insurance from my contract. And I want to re-sign the contract with the Financed Amount 22701.43 (406.58 monthly payments one, after deducting extended warranty and GAP Insurance) because I have put $3000 down payment already and it was a deal I received before going to the dealership. After 4 business days, this issue has not been resolved yet. They make me sign on electronic pad which there was nothing written except the signature box. and found out that they are charging me more amount in that contract than what I was given OTD. Do not sign on that electronic pad. Now, I have 3 different amounts for one car. I would rather spend that extra charge money on lawyer instead letting this business get it. Its not #letsgoplaces, its #letsgocourt #toyota #fraud #fraudbytoyota #toyotafinancialservices #frauddealership #toyotaofdallas #toyotaheadquarters
Dependable, good power, comfortable, great fit and finish. Routine maintenance and repairs are minimal and cost of parts and labor reasonable. I have owned 3 Toyotas new and used. All are still on the road with 200 to 70 miles on them.
I am really grateful that Toyota carries them warranty but I also think that it shouldnt cost anything. Im disabled. Aint get no stimulus. Has no nothing. No help and I cant afford to pay for a warranty on my car any longer so I think that you guys could be helpful with that.
After 500 miles of nice quiet motor started to notice slight ticking/rattle noise. The more miles that were driven the louder the noise /rattle become, especially when its cold. Pulled up to my bank drive-thru and they asked what the noise was and did I buy a diesel. Truck only has 2800 miles on it and already took it to 2 different Toyota dealers only for them to say that it was a high-pressure fuel pump and no way to fix it. Why if this is how its supposed to be was it such a nice quiet truck when I 1st bought it. Almost 3000 miles later and Im totally ashamed to drive it. If a fuel pump comes into my repair shop sounding like that I replace them and customer is happy. Ive owned Toyotas for over 20 years will never buy another one. Buyer Beware!
On 4-4-18, went for my scheduled oil change, the car is 5 yrs. old, only has 15,318 miles, I was told I had a oil leak and would need a reseal on the timing cover, the cost is $2,074.00. I purchased the car at AutoNation Toyota in Hayward, Ca. Had all my services completed there. I told my service adviser this shouldnt happen to a car with these low miles. I was very upset. I feel this is a defect, and its causing the engine to lose oil, usually caused by a faulty sealant. My service adviser sent a email Re: Good Will Request, I dont have a extended warranty on my car. Im waiting for a decision from technology manager from another dealership.
Ive had it for over two years and never had any problems with it. Great gas mileage, tinted rearview mirror so the persons lights driving behind you dont blind you. Very spacious for 4 people.
In the last six years I have had Rodent Damage to the wiring of my Toyota vehicles (Toyota Tundra 2007 and Toyota Corolla 2010). I have had one to two claims per year since 2013 (no claims for 2014) for a total of seven claims. I didnt pull my records back any further for the Toyota vehicles. The damage varies from approximately $700 to $1500 per claim. My deductible is one hundred dollars each for a total of $700 to me for that time period. Now it has happened again and I got a letter from my insurance company stating it is going to raise all my deductibles to $1000 each, not just my comprehensive coverage. All indications are this is an Industry wide problem because the wiring has been changed to soy based insulation and all the critters love to eat this stuff. Before 2007 for the previous 27 years, no wire damage. I had Chevy and Dodge before the insulation change and had no wire damage. I had my Chevy and Dodge vehicles both for 10 years or more each parked in the same location as my Toyota vehicles. I have taken all the precautions to prevent rodents by placing repellents, traps and poison boxes out to eradicate the vermin. Honda has Rodent Tape available at their parts department to wrap the wires. Whats that tell you. (The tape is also now available at Amazon.) I have been wrapping the damaged repaired wires. This seems to work for about a year. The tape must lose its potency in that time at least that is about how long they go with no wire damage.I see there are class action lawsuits in progress at this time for this problem. In the meantime I am at a loss for what to do short of parking on an electric grid that electrocutes anything that approaches my vehicles. I mention this because such a product was in the development stages on a GoFundMe in the UK. Sad to say it didnt get into production. It was called RatMat Rat Repellent Electrified Flooring. To wrap it up, the danger of wires being damaged is loss of safety devices built into the vehicle such as anti-lock brakes.
I recently purchased a new Toyota which the salesman failed on his part to get a correct 10 day payoff on my trade. Now that the deal is done, signed and a payment is being withdrawn from my new account they are harassing me for the balance of my payoff. We don’t carry our payoff of our vehicle in our pocket so I gave an estimate which he should have followed up with a 10 day payoff. Now I am receiving harassing phone calls and texts messages at my job on this. Legacy Toyota is very unprofessional and they don’t think of the buyer. All they want is numbers and don’t care at whose cost. This is going to end up with an attorney. I’m waiting to hear from Toyota on this matter. It was the worse purchase I have ever made and not speaking of the truck.
Like to file a complaint. I want to pay in full for the past 1 month and they will not tell me how in need to pay. The car was 29,000. I put 5000 down payment and after 1 month I told them I would like to pay in full. They are saying I owe the 29,000.
Toyota Tercel 1995 is a very dependable, practical car for couple with few or no children. Extreme fuel mileage range. My experience 34 to 54 miles per gallon. Easily handles 75 mph highway. Perky 16 valve 4 cylinder engine. Downside, fair amount of road noise, not real cushy ride.
The Matrix is a great vehicle. The first time I bought one, I got a color white. It cost a lot but I wanted to pay for something with extra features. It had superior steering and brakes. It could accelerate and stop okay. Also side to side was fine. On the highway it drive same as the other cars. It handled okay at high speeds. But I once had to take it to Toyota because I notice the headlights stay on during drives. Then, sometimes the battery would get too hot and I need to pull over to let it cool off. Mostly it was fine if it was watched closely. Also, the airbags needed improvements. I got a notice sent to me saying that they were in recall.
Bought this Toyota Matrix car due to an emergent need (no time for serious search). Its too low to the ground. As a 4 cylinder, it is a gas guzzler. However, it handles well and has nice design.
My Venza is my favorite car so far. It has been very reliable and I have only had to do routine maintenance. I really like the sporty look of it and there are vents in the back. The back seats are comfortable and they fold down easily to provide a lot of storage space. Also, the car has good pick-up and I was impressed with the gas mileage. However, the cabin could be quieter, the road noise is pretty loud and the engine seems loud as well. My automatic locks are not working right now, either. But overall I am satisfied.
03 Toyota 4 Runner - Drive the car in DCH Toyota in Simi Valley for safety recall smart stop tech. First, they said car will be done in couple hour. Around 10:00 am received a called from dealer and said car not done until 4:00 pm. Keep waiting after 4:00 pm no one called. Going direct to the dealer and Juan ** (customer service guy) said, the car not done and something wrong with it, already on Friday afternoon for better to wait until next Monday morning to get help from corporate and he will helping me to taking care of it. Monday morning I got called and text message from him. Said my car failure base on the new update of the SW. Determine that failure on ABS break system and I have to pay for the cost of repair with more than 4K to replace a new ABS break system. Either pay for repair or tow the car out of the dealer because the car cannot be drive. When I drive my car in without any problems now they said failure. I have to tow my car back to home for now. OMG can you imagine about that. Basically Im very enjoy to drive Toyota but not anymore.
Amazing trunk space, lots of space for kids and supplies, great sound system, and great mirrors. Love the 3rd-row seats, stow and go 3rd row, and love the rearview camera. Power sliding doors, spacious interior, optional 8th seat, and easy access to 3rd row seats. I wish it had front view camera, sunroof, built-in vacuum, parking assist for parallel parking, power trunk, easier access to opening windows, and better-tinted windows.
I purchased a new Toyota Camry-LE in 2003 at Toyota Dealership in Riverside Ca. After less than 90,000 miles I began experiencing engine problems, ie, gray smoke emitting from my tailpipe when first starting my car in the morning. On 9/7/17, I left my car with my mechanic, Moe. After several hours inspecting my car and performing a compression, he believed I had major engine problems and stated that this type of car should not experience this problem at a low mileage. He checked to see if there was a recall on my engine and found none. He advised me to check with Toyota Corporate office to see if they could help me. I checked with Toyota Corporate office in Torrance Ca. I contacted their office and they stated I should not have engine problems at this low mileage. The next day I took my car to the dealership to be inspected. I told the manager that my mechanic suspected engine problems. When I went to pick up my car the same day, the manager said I had not engine problems. However when reading the report on my car, the mechanic recommended an engine teardown. No test were run on this car (compression test). I asked to speak to the mechanic and I was denied. I then returned to my mechanic and authorized a teardown to find a bad engine. I replaced the engine for $ 6,85.91. I decided to send this to the manufacturer in Plano Texas with all the receipts, oil changes, tires, fluid changes, belts, etc. In speaking to a manager named Nancy at this office, I was denied any financial help stating that there was no record of me using Toyota for repairs. I reminded Nancy that it states in the Toyota manual that Toyota will not deny a claim because you choose a service provider other than Toyota. Nancy insisted on sticking to her story, that I must use Toyota services. I realize the warranty has expired, but what options do I have?? I paid a lot for this car, and believe I deserve better. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Several months ago, my wife took our Rav-4 to the dealership for regular service- an oil change. My wife calls me later on to inform the car had leaked oil out onto the driveway and adjacent road. The dealerships service department had cross-threaded the oil filter, causing the leakage. Several months later we received a bill from the dealership for towing and the rental car (they gave us a rental and hauled the car back to the dealership on a rollback). We, are afraid to do further business with Toyota or, their dealer. Nothing preventing them from loosing a few transmission bolts, engine, etc. Bottom line, Toyota, could care less about the disingenuousness of their partnership counterpart - i.e., the dealer. Sadly, this has caused us to consider having to get rid of the vehicle due to these unresolved issues, lack of service, lack of product support and, moreover, lack of professionalism. I am very, very disappointed. We, will never purchase another Toyota based upon this experience. As for the Toyota corporation, they stated there was nothing they could do, it was a privately owned dealership. Really? I, mean, really.
Great gas mileage car with a surprising amount of room in the Sedan 4 door version. Doesn’t have cruise but I can get 46mpg hwy. My only complaint is it’s disc brakes in front and drum brakes in back.
The Venza is a great car and I love it. I had 3 full-size vans which I drove for 25 years. I never expected to be in any vehicle smaller than my vans.
I have owned 3 Toyotas and have always had excellent experiences with them. I love The quality you get when you purchase a Toyota. They have a reputation to last a long time and be reliable. And you see a lot of older Toyotas still on the road. After my first Toyota I decided I would stay with them on my next purchase. And I have not been disappointed with my decision to buy another one. I currently have the Toyota RAV4 and the only thing I dont care for is the size of the gas tank. I feel like every time I turnaround I am having to find a gas station.
This 1991 Toyota pickup truck has good gas mileage. This truck takes knocks and bumps great. This truck always starts no matter what the weather. They seem to run forever. Ive had many people at gas pumps offering to buy it. It is 4 WD and gets through mud and snow easily. Its a stick shift so it can be push started without getting a jump. This pickup truck gets good gas mileage and is easy to handle and drive. It has the perfect amount of bed space as well as cab space for me. This truck is easy to work on and its easy to find parts for which are inexpensive. The insurance is also low for a vehicle as well as the taxes and tags. It is so sound. I only wish there were more of them. The thing I did not like about this truck is how the seatbelts are. They are placed in a way that they cut across your neck and no kind of seatbelt comfort aid helps this. I put a clamp on mine at the part where it retracts.
I have purchased 3 Toyota vehicles. My last was a 2015 Venza LE. Its a red color. As of 3 weeks ago I notice clear spots on the rooftop on the passenger side and door. Its like the primer didnt settle correctly. I bought the car as new. Its only two yrs. old and only 17,566 miles on it. Brought it to the dealer where I originally bought it and the service manager gave me a I dont care attitude. A week goes by - no answer. Finally I called Toyota care customer service and they got in contact with the dealer. The service manager forgot to file the claim. Wow. I was so upset. That same day Toyota told the dealer that Its not a Toyota defect. I was told by the service manager its acid rain. Its a new car. I had older cars with no paint problems caused by acid rain. The primer never settled. Toyota doesnt want to fix the problem. I cant believe how they have treated me. I will never buy a Toyota vehicle. I think I might go with a Kia or Mazda.
I always had a good trust in Toyotas reliability but no more. I bought 4 Toyota cars in different times and my first car was new Corolla 1983. The last car Camry 2009 which has engine consuming oil problem. Toyota refused to address the issue. I further researched on the net that Camry engines year 2007 to 2011 has same problem and Toyota is less of care. Finding excuses not to fix the issue. All Camry owners are suffering. The problem started after standard warranty was expired. In 2014 Toyota after a class action suit filed by the Camry owners to extend a warranty program which has lot of loop holes and many owners still couldnt avail it and Im one of them. Toyota corporate refused to address the issue. I think the best thing is to stop buying Toyota as it is no more reliable car. Toyota is anyway most expensive to its competitors I.e. Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda etc. I will not ever buy/lease Toyota anymore.
My son bought an used 2006 Toyota Avalon last year. The dashboard is cracked. After doing some online search we found a recall for this problem. I called Toyota today to learn they don’t honor this recall anymore. The word I received is that because the recall is expired, they don’t repair the problematic dashboard anymore. My conclusion here is: don’t buy Toyota, they don’t stand by their products. Competition here we go. There are other companies out there that stand by their brand.
Went to my local dealer in San Luis Obispo after multiple hazard lights came on. The diagnosis: a failed inverter. The estimated cost: $5,000. The car has 96,000 miles, so it falls well within the warranty mileage. My problem: It is three months past the warranty expiration date. Looking on multiple chat boards, it seems that most inverter problems have to do with the coolant system. A friend who thoroughly knows cars, including Priuses, said it is very rare for inverters to fail altogether. Plus, the mileage isnt high enough. Dont know whether to trust the dealers diagnosis and plan to take it to a repair shop not affiliated with Toyota. Also, hope to get a reconditioned inverter if that is, in fact, the issue. Dont think Ill be buying any more Priuses, or Toyotas in general.
When The air is turned on I hear a very high pitched noise that comes from the blower motors of the car. I took it to go get looked at and another car on the lot was making the same noise so they said it is just a noise that the car makes. I wish I would have heard the noise before I bought the car. Now I’m stuck with it.
I went to my Toyota where I bought the Brand New Car from them. I went back last week and because there were fog or oil in my vent screen and they told me that I have to get a new one but you do have warranty because we are not going to use it because they we dont know if the warranty department is going to pay us or not. But as a business and customer way that is not right to us when we buy car and they tell You dont worry. You have warranty. Please stop lying to people and do your job what we pay you to do. Please dont buy the car from 1155 Bloomfield Ave, West Caldwell, NJ 07006. They are totally liars, fraud and cheaters.
