Toyota Automobile Model 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser returns as a rugged, body-on-frame SUV designed for serious off-road use and long expeditions, while also offering modern refinement. This generation is smaller than some previous Land Cruisers, focusing on combining legacy capability with modern efficiency. It seats five, and its design emphasizes durability, advanced off-road systems, and a strong hybrid powertrain.

Powertrain & Performance

The Land Cruiser is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, paired with an electric motor in a hybrid setup.

Combined system output is about 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque.

Transmission: 8-speed automatic.

It features full-time 4WD, with multi-terrain drive modes (such as Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow).

Drive-mode selector gives options like Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Off-road capability is enhanced by locking center and rear differentials, and optional stabilizer-bar disconnect for better wheel articulation.

Fuel Economy & Efficiency

Fuel consumption is approximately 10.7 L/100 km in city, 9.5 L/100 km highway, and 10.1 L/100 km combined.

The hybrid system helps boost efficiency over what traditional full-size 4x4 SUVs achieve, especially in low-speed or mixed driving.

Dimensions & Capacity

Length: about 4,990 mm, width roughly 1,940 mm, height around 1,925 mm.

Wheelbase: 2,850 mm.

Ground clearance: about 205 mm in base spec, with some versions going up to roughly 215 mm.

Fuel tank holds about 68 litres.

Towing capacity is rated up to 6,000 lb (around 2,722 kg) when properly equipped.

Payload capacity: approximately 620 to 640 kg, depending on configuration.

Interior & Practicality

Seats 5: two front seats, three in the rear.

Cargo volume: around 1,062 litres (37.5 cubic feet) of space behind the rear seats.

Interior is rugged but modern: available with premium materials, and there’s a robust center console with functional storage.

Climate control: three-zone automatic system helps keep all passengers comfortable.

Utility features: a 2,400 W AC power inverter is available (useful for powering gear during overland trips).

Technology & Infotainment

Base infotainment screen: 8-inch touchscreen standard on entry-level trim.

Higher trim: available 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Connectivity: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Audio: standard sound system, with an available 14-speaker JBL premium package.

USB ports and power outlets: several around the cabin, plus a 120V outlet in the cargo area.

Safety & Driver Assistance

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard: includes features like pre-collision with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with lane centering, automatic high beams, and lane departure alert.

Additional off-road safety: Multi-Terrain Monitor (displays terrain around wheels) is available.

Other safety: Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a “Safe Exit Assist” feature are offered on certain trims.

Airbags: a comprehensive airbag system, including side and curtain airbags, enhances occupant safety.

Driving Experience

On-road: the Land Cruiser drives smoother and more refined than older body-on-frame Cruisers thanks to modern chassis tuning and hybrid torque.

Off-road: it's very capable, with strong low-end torque, rugged differentials, and selectable terrain modes.

The hybrid torque is very helpful when crawling or accelerating on trail: it reduces lag and helps maintain control in tricky terrain.

Road manners are balanced — ride feels firm over rough ground, but competent on highways.

Trim Options & Pricing

Two main trims: 1958 (heritage-styled) and a more modern “Land Cruiser” trim with additional features.

1958 trim: more classic look, simpler interior, functional off-road gear.

Land Cruiser trim: adds premium touches — a larger touchscreen, better upholstery, more tech, and optional JBL audio.

Starting price (MSRP for 1958 trim) is in the ballpark of US$ 56,700 for base 4WD spec.

Higher trim Land Cruiser MSRP is around US$ 61,470, depending on options.

Pros & Trade-offs

Pros:

Strong off-road credentials: 4WD, locking diffs, terrain modes.

Improved fuel efficiency for a serious SUV, thanks to the hybrid system.

High torque output makes it great for heavy-duty use and trail driving.

Durable, body-on-frame construction: built to last.

Modern interior with advanced infotainment and connectivity.

Excellent towing capacity for this class.

Cons:

Only seats five — less family-friendly than larger three-row SUVs.

Hybrid system adds complexity (though it brings efficiency benefits).

Large size can make city driving and parking challenging.

High purchase cost, especially in premium trim.

Fuel economy is decent for an SUV, but not as efficient as some smaller hybrids.

Who the 2025 Land Cruiser Is For

Overlanders, adventurers, and off-road enthusiasts who need a serious 4x4.

Buyers who want a rugged SUV but don’t need a huge three-row vehicle.

People who plan to tow or haul gear regularly.

Owners who value long-term durability and legendary Toyota reliability.

Drivers who appreciate a mix of modern technology and classic ruggedness.

Bottom line: The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser is a well-rounded, highly capable SUV that blends historic off-road toughness with modern hybrid efficiency and tech. It’s not lightweight or compact, but it’s built for real-world adventure, serious utility, and dependable performance both on and off the grid.

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid only allows for Apple Play compatibility when using the GPS system. I dont have an Apple phone. I have an Android phone. Toyota refuses to update GPS system for compatibility to Android. They only did this in 2020 to include both Apple Play and Android capabilities. They refuse to update my 2019 that I purchased October 2019 and I feel that they are favoring Apple. Not everyone has an Apple phone, me included. I feel this is discriminatory towards those owners of Android phones and that Apple has paid off or done a deal with Toyota to exclude Android Users.

I purchased my car here at the Toyota dealership on Thornton Road in April 2018 and ever since I purchased this particular car the check engine light has been on. I have taken the car to the Volkswagen dealership at the Toyota dealership where I purchased the car here over five times to get serviced and after weeks of them keeping the car nothing has worked or been rectified. The check engine light is still on and I have not been treated fairly as a consumer. I have been sold a lemon and their cars here are not reliable. It scares me to know that I invested money hard earned cash money to this company and they disrespected me by selling me a car that is not reliable.

I cant begin to tell you enough about how awesome this car is. It is fun to drive, easy to maintain, and every single functioning piece of equipment is of the best quality I have ever owned. I have all the Toyota Camry in the past and it was awesome as well. The only thing that this car could not withstand was one time when I was unfortunately stuck up on a block ice and snow that the plows left on the road on an exit ramp in the dark. Somehow when I hit the snowbank a sensor fell off the bumper but it remained dangling inside the bumper for a very long time whilst I tried to figure out why my car was not running right. All I had to do was snap the sensor back in the bumper and my entire vehicle runs like new again. The strange thing was that the misplaced sensor caused my engine to idle rough and not give enough air to the engine.

The front driver seats edge of my 2019 Toyota Highlander is completely smashed and it makes driving and especially getting out of the car very uncomfortable (not even talking about the look and value of the 3 year old car). I noticed the problem almost a year ago, since then its been getting worse and I asked for the seat replacement last December, when the car was 2 years 8 months old and still under the full warranty. I went to the Desert Toyota and a manager there found my complaints reasonable and submitted a claim. We got a response from Toyota in about a month and they refused to replace or fix a seat under the warranty saying that its simply an outside influence. I believe that its ridiculous since I weigh 120lb and have less than 30,000 miles over those years. Moreover, this is my THIRD Toyota Highlander. Ive had the previous one for about 10 years and no problem with any of the seats with the same usage. Obviously something was wrong with that seat from the beginning and it should be replaced under the warranty.Otherwise, if its just normal wear and tear according to Toyota, what kind of garbage was it made from if it wont even last three years with average usage? Im not even talking about other minor issues that weve been having with that car. My previous Toyota started having more serious issues but only after about 7 years of usage. The first one was almost perfect. It looks like the quality of a Highlander is going down the drain. Definitely, its going to be the last Toyota that we buy.

The worst company ever!!! If you plan to buy a car, dont even go to Toyota. They are all total jerks. I called them in March to postpone my payments due to pandemic because I was not able to work and make money. They postponed my payments and they said that there was not going to be in any interest charge. Looking at my August bill, seems like they placed $398 interest fee on top of my $400 payment. I called them and explained everything and they acted like they are not from Earth and they were not aware of Pandemic. They were talking about my contract and which line of the contract indicates that I am still forced to pay interest charge if I dont make any payments. I mean are they stupid? I know if you dont make payments there will be interest fee and thats why I called them so we can extend the payment period. They did not care at all.

I really like all the features of my Toyota. According to my research, it has good performance and repair reviews. The car has ample trunk and seating space and the seating and spacing in the cabin are all very comfortable. I also love the sound system because it is loud and filters throughout the cabin. I enjoy the cars sport and eco modes because they give the car more versatility than my last car. However I wish that this model was a four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. I miss that about my old car. I would also have the spare tire on the back because that gives the car a more rustic and adventurous look.

Since that FINALLY happened, after much drama, I still have to deal with service. Again, a horrible experience on all counts. NEVER again will I buy a Toyota vehicle. Dealing with this company is like dealing with children or used car salesmen all day, every day. The dealerships do whatever they want and Toyota throws their hands up and says they can do nothing. Wouldnt recommend buying a Toyota folks!

This is a great car. It has all of necessities that I think of a car should come equipped with. It has great fuel mileage. Theres a nice smooth ride and a lot of extra perks. Its not too low to the ground so you dont feel like youre sitting on the ground. It also has a large trunk enough space to comfortably fit 5 people. And everything inside is touchscreen. This car also comes in a ton of different colors and you can completely customize it any way you want. Not to mention affordable. And I love the way this car is easy to handle. Its a very nice overall car to have. But I would like to see more features on the vehicle well that would make it more appealing to people who like technology. I would also like it do defrost work faster because here in the cold winter months it takes forever to thaw your car out.

Toyota Yaris is a compact vehicle. The color is bright red. It is a 5 door hatchback and seats five people. It is excellent on gas mileage and fun to drive. It has an economy button which, when in traffic, it saves gas. The engine is very quiet and the air conditioning system is adequate for the size of this vehicle. It has never had any mechanical problems and is a totally reliable vehicle. It is just a basic vehicle with no frills. I chose this vehicle because the down payment was low and the monthly payments are affordable. But I dislike that this vehicle does not have automatic seats and everything must be done by hand. The radio and cd player are adequate for this vehicle however the sound speakers need to be upgraded. There are no speakers in the backseat area so listening to music from the backseat is strained.

The car has efficient mileage which allows me to save on gasoline. The four door sedan is roomy and allows for easy entry and exit of passengers. The car is well manufactured so it allows me to keep driving it with minimal problems. It is reliable and easy to maintain. Additionally, the trunk is spacious and you can utilize every inch. The spare tire is full sized too and the air conditioner is well made and still running perfectly with no problems. But the drivers seat could be manufactured so that the headrest fits or forms behind the head better. The back support could also be improved. Moreover, the floor mats that were provided by the dealer could have fitted better since it sometimes slides back and forth.

My daughters 2012 Yaris that I bought used within 2013 with about 20,000 miles on it for her graduation gift now in 2017 is cutting off while in traffic and drive mode. She has taken it to not one Toyota dealership but about two or three and they all say its nothing wrong with the car. But it keeps cutting off for about 4 to 5 months. She has to drive about an hour out to her job and I am very scared for her that it may cut while she is in traffic and wouldnt be able to get over... I have made complaints to Toyota main office and they stated no recall was noted for this model. She cant afford to not have a car nor to purchase another one. This is very bad for their brand... I guess I will be working more hours to trade this in for a Honda because Toyota is not the brand I thought they were...

Toyota - Very good on gas mileage, long lasting motor life and really a great investment for work or travel vehicle. Awesome value while driving low fuel expenses. Comfortable and great for long or short rides. You get more than the moneys worth, through and through. However, I dont like the thin fiberglass. Im worried about the safety and with the size. The compact design is also quite scary when on highways and interstates. Comparing to semis, trucks, vans, it is quite overwhelming where there are large vehicles. Just feels like one wrong move by me or another vehicle, would never end well. Should be more in between passengers and other vehicles.

My complaint: The issue of tan color leather seats and dye transferring. Toyota being aware of the issue and not standing behind their product. I recently purchased a 2016 Toyota Avalon. At the time of purchase I purchase the extended. During the first two weeks I noticed that the tan leather seats were changing colors. On the seat and up by the shoulders and in the drivers seat were dark. I reached out to customer service Nationally and locally for assistance on this issue. I was informed that this is what Toyota call transferring. Which means that the dye from the clothing that I was wearing was transferring onto the leather seats. I was contacted by the local service manager at Sunnyside Toyota who informed me that they would do a one-time courtesy cleaning of the leather seats. She informed me this is not a Toyota issue. It was the clothing industry issue. I explain that the leather had not been treated properly because dye should not be transferring that easily to this leather and I wanted to bring the car back. Her reply was, Cars are not like an item you purchase at Target. You cant just return it. She suggested that I trade in the car or I could possibly buy seat covers. Seat covers to cover the leather seats in my car... When I asked if they, the dealership, carry the seat covers she suggested I buy them aftermarket but I needed to be sure that I purchased seat covers that allowed for the airbags in my car. My issue with this whole matter is if your company is aware of this issue why havent they did anything to correct or resolve the matter.

OK, at first I loved this car bought it used with only 29,000 miles on it. Its very attractive and pleasing to the eye. Love the Sea Glass Pearl color. Now, having driven it 15K+ miles, I feel it is important to share some observations. Great mileage, you bet. Easy maneuverability, yes. So what is the issue? Visibility!! It is poor. The back door split design stinks. The car is low and with the little mini windows in front of the regular windows, it is a challenge to see some things that a higher car with single windows allow for. If you bump into anything, you are talking a major repair as the entire bumper needs replacement. That costs almost $800. And, it has happened to me twice. Once backing up at dusk with a ships anchor in the dirt along the fence, not visible because of being too low. Second, hitting a part of a broken wall that, again, was not visible due to being too low. I AM a good driver in case youre wondering but my height and the cars proximity to the ground make it a quick victim of any really low edifice even parking concrete bumpers. I thought this was going to be great but the visibility has changed my mind. Other issue, the cockpit design with the raised storage between seats is very inconvenient. This was obviously designed by a man and not a woman. Toyotas in general are getting a bad rap since assemblage in the US of A. Used to be great cars. Id say try something else!

I am a fan of Toyota and recommend people to buy Toyota Cars. I myself bought Toyota cars. I recently was looking for a Toyota Sienna LE and I spoke to Toyota Klamath Falls and they agreed to a price with me and gave me the go-ahead to come to their dealership for a van even I told them that I am coming far from the dealership more than 60 miles they confirmed me that they will sell at the agreed price. When I and a friend of mine reached there, I double checked (even though the car has scratches all over but they agreed to fix that) with them before running of my credit check, the sales guy again confirmed the same price and asked me to sign on certain papers. I did that, but, after some time he came back with a different price which was $400 more than the agreed price and said either buy on this price or leave the dealership which was rude. I decided not to buy the car on principles I didnt want myself to be tricked on this dirty trick of them. They didnt give us any copies of anything like the documents which I signed and rudely said that they are not giving us anything and leave. We called Toyota customer service but it was not available since it was Sunday. I would not recommend this dealership to anybody and beware of their dirty tricks. The VIN number of the car is **, please beware this car has scratches everywhere.

Purchased my Tundra new in 2002. I cared for this truck inside and out except when it came to my rusted and unsafe frame. My truck is in excellent mechanical condition and I get a lot of compliments on its appearance. Everything works great with 107,000 miles logged. My mechanic says he probably will not be able to pass the truck for inspection within a year or so. His advise, get rid of it and trade it in. I usually like to sell my trucks outright but he says that I will create a bad situation to sell it to a friend or a private party. So, I have driven Toyota cars all my life and I really take care of them. There is nothing wrong with this truck! Because of the safety issue I will need to trade my vehicle (while I still can) on years before I should need to. Toyota claims there is nothing they can do and its my problem. Bottom line, I will never purchase or lease another Toyota vehicle and will let my children, friends and others know. I recently leased a 2017 Toyota Mirai. I intended on using this as a primary vehicle that I would use for work and for my family. I have 2 kids, 6 and 3 that require a car seat and booster seat. As a loyal Toyota customer, who has owned and leased 13 different Toyota or Lexuss in the past, I was very disappointed to learn about how hard it was to install car seats and access the latches and buckle seat belts when using car seats and boosters. Every Toyota vehicle that Ive been in, with the exception of the Mirai has a very easy to access latch system for installing car seats. I love it because this is something parents do not enjoy doing and when we need to do it, we are usually in a hurry. However, the Mirai, to my surprise is nearly impossible to install car seats. My wife tried for 20 minutes the first attempt and failed with tears in her eyes. In order to install the car seats you need to be strong and cram yourself into the backseat in order to get enough leverage to install the latches. It takes a lot of strength and practice in order to get these in. The second problem is once the booster is installed the seats arent wide enough and the fixed center counsel is in the way of being able to buckle the seat belt. My 6 year old cannot do it so I have jam my hand in the middle of the booster and the counsel and buckle the seat belt. It usually hurts but I have no choice. I have been very disappointed dealing with Toyota on this issue. They really DO NOT CARE about this problem. Obviously there is no fix to it so they basically tell me I need to live with it. However, for $536 per month, I spend a lot of money on a car that has a defect. I have begged Toyota for help. They have not offered any reasonable solution. They basically want me to go away and stop complaining but I feel as though, I spend a lot of money to get a car that does not performed the way it should. The design is terrible, this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed because I have to use it and Toyota just wants to keep taking my money while I have to suffer.

Toyota Canada Inc. Head Office 1 Toyota Place, Toronto ON, M1H 1H9. I have been reluctant since last year to write to you about the horrible service I received from your maintenance people who serviced my 2007 Matrix. It all started with a rhythmic feeling in the right side of the tire area. It was determined that the bearing had to be replaced and it was for $450. The problem was still there and I took it back and was told that it most likely was the left side bearing. Again a senior technician looked at it and told Charlene that it was tire cupping that was causing the problem. As I was at Costco I had brand new front tires ($400) installed.Absolutely no change in the feeling in front end as well as losing a pair of decent front tires. I felt foolish and taken for a ride at your dealership. I had to go somewhere and I took it to JD auto and they found the problem with the calipers as one of the pistons was seized and was biting into the rotor. Again more cost to me to replace all front breaks because your people did not do their job properly, I am very very reluctant to visit for any more maintenance for fear of not getting proper repairs without fear. Up to the time of these problems with your dealership I had no problems and was very happy with my visits and the friendly receptions. I have had muffler and parts installed since with JD Auto because of my distrust and reluctance to take my vehicle to your dealership. If you look up my maintenance records, you will see that I used you exclusively until last year because of my trust with the maintenance and repairs.I have since had a telephone conversation with Darrell but he just didn’t understand the ramifications on losing this consumer for new vehicles or maintenance. Since he has only been on his job for 8 months he would not commit to “what can I do for you” with what he could do for me. We left it at that. All the mistakes made at the repairs eventually cost me over 1300 dollars for no reason. Shameful for Toyota. No longer will I be looking for a Toyota product because of this incident.

I’ve owned different makes in the past. GM, Ford, Dodge and Toyotas. Since 1985, I’ve owned several Toyotas. Every Toyota I’ve owned has outperformed the other makes by a wide margin. They are more reliable and more durable than all the other makes. Every Ford I’ve owned needed major repairs because of either substandard build and/or substandard parts. The 2014 RAM 3500 I owned had a substandard design. Back to Toyota, its website is pretty easy to get around. Toyota’s one drawback is its pricing, especially for its trucks. But as the old adage says “you get what you pay for”, and with Toyota it is my experience you get greater quality.

I bought a used 2006 Toyota RAV 4 for 1200 dollars. The miles were already getting up there but I could tell by the look of the car the previous owner had taken care of it. I have 4 kids who take every red cent to raise and this car was within my budget. But I thought if I got a year out of it to beat back and forth to work then it would serve its purpose. It would be a 1200 well spent. Id love to say that when I bought this car I took care of it just like the previous owner, but that would be a lie. I beat the car to hell, I didnt change the oil once in 4 years, not a filter or spark plug. I did nothing for this car the entire time I owned it except replace tires to pass inspection, replace wheel bearings, and put gas in it. This year I took it to be inspected and there is rust on the gas tank and other places and repairs would cost about 1000 dollars. I cant see spending 1000 dollars on a car that basically cost me as much. And there are over 375,000 miles on the thing now. But the engine is still going and the problems are all outside of it. I would love to see if I could hit half a million with this car and I think I probably could. Its a beast. And one of the best cars I have ever owned. Honestly I treated it so badly I dont know how its still running. But it is. Best car I have ever owned. Sadly I will be looking for a new beater for work as I cant doing the repairs makes any sense. But I would recommend this car to anyone.

Very reliable four door car, it gets drove every day. I havent had any problems and that is longer and shorter trips. I like the electric windows too. Mileage is pretty good, easy enough to detail, nice color, cant lose the gas cap its attached, simple levers to open hood and gas, and same for trunk can easily be opened by a button. However, sunroof would be cool. I like my car a lot. I would recommend to anybody looking for a reliable car to be able to count on anywhere you need to go. Everything is simple and in your reach.

In the last six years I have had Rodent Damage to the wiring of my Toyota vehicles (Toyota Tundra 2007 and Toyota Corolla 2010). I have had one to two claims per year since 2013 (no claims for 2014) for a total of seven claims. I didnt pull my records back any further for the Toyota vehicles. The damage varies from approximately $700 to $1500 per claim. My deductible is one hundred dollars each for a total of $700 to me for that time period. Now it has happened again and I got a letter from my insurance company stating it is going to raise all my deductibles to $1000 each, not just my comprehensive coverage. All indications are this is an Industry wide problem because the wiring has been changed to soy based insulation and all the critters love to eat this stuff. Before 2007 for the previous 27 years, no wire damage. I had Chevy and Dodge before the insulation change and had no wire damage. I had my Chevy and Dodge vehicles both for 10 years or more each parked in the same location as my Toyota vehicles. I have taken all the precautions to prevent rodents by placing repellents, traps and poison boxes out to eradicate the vermin. Honda has Rodent Tape available at their parts department to wrap the wires. Whats that tell you. (The tape is also now available at Amazon.) I have been wrapping the damaged repaired wires. This seems to work for about a year. The tape must lose its potency in that time at least that is about how long they go with no wire damage.I see there are class action lawsuits in progress at this time for this problem. In the meantime I am at a loss for what to do short of parking on an electric grid that electrocutes anything that approaches my vehicles. I mention this because such a product was in the development stages on a GoFundMe in the UK. Sad to say it didnt get into production. It was called RatMat Rat Repellent Electrified Flooring. To wrap it up, the danger of wires being damaged is loss of safety devices built into the vehicle such as anti-lock brakes.

I always had a good trust in Toyotas reliability but no more. I bought 4 Toyota cars in different times and my first car was new Corolla 1983. The last car Camry 2009 which has engine consuming oil problem. Toyota refused to address the issue. I further researched on the net that Camry engines year 2007 to 2011 has same problem and Toyota is less of care. Finding excuses not to fix the issue. All Camry owners are suffering. The problem started after standard warranty was expired. In 2014 Toyota after a class action suit filed by the Camry owners to extend a warranty program which has lot of loop holes and many owners still couldnt avail it and Im one of them. Toyota corporate refused to address the issue. I think the best thing is to stop buying Toyota as it is no more reliable car. Toyota is anyway most expensive to its competitors I.e. Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda etc. I will not ever buy/lease Toyota anymore.

In my life Ive had Chevys, Fords, AMC and Nissan along with Toyota. Todays cars and trucks are not made to last. You would be lucky to get 75,000 to 100,000 miles of trouble free use out of America cars. Very sad. Seem we made them for the masses. But Toyota is incredible for what you pay, as long as you take care of it maintenance wise. You can very easily run it for 300,000 to 500,000 miles. Which is why I buy them, I got 350,000 mile out of my last Corolla and now I have a Tacoma that has 130,000 miles and still runs great and along with that everything still works on the truck.

My mother used my car (better mileage) to pick up my daughter and once they came my car was parked in the garage with the door closed. I never questioned to check since my mom usually does this task just fine. I know her memory isn’t as sharp as it was 5 years ago but at age 62 she is showing some decline in memory. Anyway, I luckily needed to put boxes away in the attached garage and that’s when I found my car running with the garage door down with keys inside. It had been running for over an hour. The only thing that kept me and my kids from suffering was the electric features on this car kept the car from using gas to create CO levels quickly. There was some CO released enough to give me a headache but it could have been a silent killer for my family that night as we weren’t planning on leaving the home for another 30 hours. I was just questioning last week why I still pay my higher car payment on a great mileage vehicle when I work from home but now I know why. I won’t be trading her in anytime soon... it saved me and my kids lives.

In 2015 I went to a dealership in Lawrence, KS where I was approved for a car loan for the RAV-4 hybrid. In hindsight I am not sure I should have been approved for the loan. I told them how much I thought I could afford a month with insurance included. They quoted me a price, when I said I couldnt afford the insurance the floor manager said that he would make a phone call then sold me liability insurance. He said I didnt need comprehensive insurance only liability. After a few months I realized I couldnt afford the payments. I went to the dealership in the new state I was living to ask for advice about what to do in my situation. They insisted that I go in person to speak with one of their sales reps. When I arrived the sales rep I was assigned was relentless. I got flustered, I had mentioned several times I needed to leave to take the night to think about what to do however, I ended up leaving with a car I didnt want. I was a single mom, my daughter was getting restless. When signing the paperwork we looked into switching the insurance plan over to the new car, that is when I was told that legally I was required to have full coverage insurance on a car if you have a loan. In the end I left with a car I didnt want because I thought it would be affordable but cost me the same. Since I have had this car (2016 Prius), the handle came off when I went to open the door. The dealership said they wouldnt cover the cost because they determined it had come off due to someone forcefully opening the door. Three years after having the car the AC stopped working. I was told it was due to the air conditioning radiator damper servo sub assembly malfunctioning. I was told again that Toyota would not cover the cost to repair it and it would cost me over $1,000 to repair it. I do claim responsibility for my naivete and for not educating myself more before walking into a car dealership. My experience was not great. I suspect the dealership in Lawrence is manipulating paperwork to give loans to people who would otherwise not be approved for those loans. And erroneously advising customers to purchase liability insurance. I will never buy from Toyota again. I would never advise anyone to.

I drive a 2011 Toyota Avalon. My alternator went out in Flagstaff, AZ and I had it towed to the dealer. It was a Saturday and I was traveling so they put in a replacement (not Toyota) but it had a lifetime warranty. The alternator went bad within a year. I went to my local dealer - Bob Smith for help. The service manager Brian instructed the service writer Frank to charge $300 for the labor on the replacement. I was charged $155 for labor in Flagstaff and argued this point. I even called another local So Cal Toyota dealer, gave them my VIN # and they quoted $155 as the fee for the labor.I asked Frank again, he said he can only do what Brian tells him. I said, “Look Ive been a loyal customer for 17 years. I know you are expensive but really surprised at the dishonesty.” They finally lowered the fee to $250 but kept insisting that changing an alternator takes 3 hours. I also called Toyota complaint department to file a complaint and was given a case # but no follow up there either. Very disappointed by this transaction.

Well, it is a Toyota so I bought a 2019 Avalon XLE Hybrid primarily for its reliability. However, it has two major flaws. Firstly, it is supposed to provide 43 mpg, but actually it is a lot less. Currently, it is 34.6 mpg. Secondly, for a pretty luxurious car I expected it to have all the safety features for which Toyota is famous. Unfortunately, it turned out that it is missing Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Parking Assist. I received my Toyota Yaris 2007 (sedan) as a Christmas gift while in High school in 2010. At the time it only had 26k miles on it, now it has 185k and shows no signs of giving out. Between high school, college, road trips, and long daily commutes, I have put this car through the wringer! Outside of routine oil changes, I haven’t had to spend much on maintenance. I have had to replace the belts a few times, brakes twice (first shop did it wrong and did not even replace nor check the rear brakes), and now it needs a new wheel bearing. I would say that’s pretty good for such a small car with high mileage. I am now looking for another car because I have a little one and the compact size does not agree with a growing toddler. But I won’t be trading in this car. I’ll be passing it down to my niece. Toyota really does prioritize dependability!

Brought it to the dealer where I originally bought it and the service manager gave me a I dont care attitude. A week goes by - no answer. Finally I called Toyota care customer service and they got in contact with the dealer. The service manager forgot to file the claim. Wow. I was so upset. That same day Toyota told the dealer that Its not a Toyota defect. I was told by the service manager its acid rain. Its a new car. I had older cars with no paint problems caused by acid rain. Went to my local dealer in San Luis Obispo after multiple hazard lights came on. The diagnosis: a failed inverter. The estimated cost: $5,000. The car has 96,000 miles, so it falls well within the warranty mileage. My problem: It is three months past the warranty expiration date. Looking on multiple chat boards, it seems that most inverter problems have to do with the coolant system. A friend who thoroughly knows cars, including Priuses, said it is very rare for inverters to fail altogether. Plus, the mileage isnt high enough. Dont know whether to trust the dealers diagnosis and plan to take it to a repair shop not affiliated with Toyota. Also, hope to get a reconditioned inverter if that is, in fact, the issue. Dont think Ill be buying any more Priuses, or Toyotas in general.

I have driven a Toyota for the last 11 years. My first was an echo then I bought a new corolla ascent in 2008. I loved that car and nothing ever went wrong. I would have given a 100% satisfaction. In Oct 2015 I traded it in for a corolla ascent sport. What a difference - First of all I did a hill start and smelt burning or petrol. When I complained to Toyota they said its my driving... Ive been driving for over 20 years and never experienced this before. And in June 2016 I find a hole in the seam on the back of the driver chair. My instinct tell me that it is a weak material/stitching but also a weak joint in the manufacturing of the chair itself. Toyota tell me its the material and will change the seat cover. Today 21 June 2016 I drop my car off at the service centre. I stress my concern on the weakness of the chair itself. I pick my car up and they havent changed the cover, they have ordered a new back for the seat. I was right, it was a fault in the chair itself. Shame on Toyota. They were always right up there with safety. Now Im not so sure. This seat would have crumpled had I been in an accident. I describe this car as ascetically lovely but cheap manufacturing. I would never have said this pre this car.

I would say please do not believe on their false commitment and customer centric claims as it does not hold ground. I am a customer in Gurgaon and going legal with them purely on technical grounds. My 2007 Toyota Camry - 10 years and the car is still going strong! There was two problems with the car, but these were caused by mechanics at the dealership and NOT by the Toyota factory. Another dealership heard my complaints and fixed the car at NO charge to me without any arguing! They even paid for a rental car! Some say Toyota is boring, I guess if you like a car that never breaks down, then I suppose it is boring! The car just keeps driving without problems, oh, how boring is that! The car was bought 50% on a Toyota Loan. I made my payments for the first year until I received some other money and was allowed to pay the remainder of the loan without further interest and/or penalties. It was a very fair and easy plan to follow. Reason for my review; It is important to not confuse the car with the dealership, that is to say, some dealerships are better than others.

UPDATED 03/07/2022: I purchased a new 2017 Rav4 from Toyota of Rock Hill. One of the freebees we were offered was “free oil changes for the first 30,000 miles”. This was really an oil change at 10,000 miles and one at 20,000 miles. At 10,000 miles I took my new Toyota in and had the oil changed. I was working for the public schools at the time and the automotive shop teacher told me I did not want to change the oil on the recommended 10,000 miles, that I should change the oil at 3,000 or 5,000 miles as I had always done. Toyota of Rock Hill refused to change the oil “early”, so at 15,000miles, I changed the oil myself. I drained oil and I removed the oil filter. The oil filter was packed, I repeat packed with dirt and sand! I’m not sure how this could have happened by accident. I could not have offended anybody in the shop. I did not come into contact with anybody at all… At 20,000 miles I again changed the oil and the filter was very clean. I do not know why this happened, but I will never let any Toyota service department touch another vehicle of mine again.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have purchased many new Toyotas over the past 25 years. The autos have been great. 2004 Solaria, 2006 Solaria, 2006 Rav4 and a 2017 Rav4. I drove the Solaria for 450,000 miles total and the 2006 Rav4 is coming up on 200,000 miles. The newest Rav4 will turn 40,000 miles soon. No mechanical problems of any kind on the older Toyotas. The new 2017 Rav4 had some issues. The one major problem has been with the new tires that came on the two new Rav4s. The tires were manufactured by Yokohama and have had a number of problems. On the 2006 Rav4 the tires did not last. Maybe 30,000 was all. After several calls Yokohama I was told by somebody on the executive staff that “We can manufacture better tires but we manufacture these tires to Toyota’s specifications.” The Toyota dealer would not stand behind the tires even though we purchased a warrantee package which cost the equivalent of a set of four tires $600. The 2017 Rav4 had a flat spot or broken belt on one of the four tires. The dealer would not stand behind the problem. Four years and 40,000 miles later and the Rav4 still makes a loud vump, vump, vump noise. It has really gotten under my skin! A second major issue with the 2017 Rav4 is the automatic radar braking. • Moving through traffic at speed limit speeds if you try to pass a car and come close to the vehicle, sometimes the radar will engage the brakes unexpectedly. It may even brake very hard. • Trying to pass a car on a two-lane highway when you come close to the vehicle, the brakes may come on unexpectedly. It may brake very hard. This is very dangerous if there is a car coming at you in the other lane. You can’t pass the car you were trying to pass and you may be stopped by the oncoming car as well. • If you are going around a curve and there is a guard rail next to the road the brakes may come on unexpectedly. If you are on a slippery road the back end will kick out and the car will spin!• If you are on a hilly road the radar may see the hill as a solid object the brakes will come on unexpectedly. Unexpected braking in heavy traffic may get your Rav4 rear ended. The problems are even worse if you use the cruise control. I never use the cruise control at all, it is just too dangerous. I talked with the dealer many times about the problems and the dealer pooh poohed the issues and refused to write up the problem.

$3k ABS failure. 2 months out of government mandated warranty ext. Toyota has a reputation for reliability that couldnt be farther from the truth. From gas pedals sticking causing accidents, frames rusting into nothing barely out of warranty, hybrid batteries catching fire, and my personal experience ABS Actuator failing causing brake failure with my family in the car. Toyota after being forced by the NHTSA to recall 2006-07 Highlanders and 08-09 Camry skated extending that recall to 2008-10 Highlanders due to lower sales numbers and failure rates caused by our countries recession then. Supporting a company by buying vehicles from a company that conducts business this way is a mistake that misleads us all. Stay away from Toyota for the safety of your loved ones.

My car is a Toyota and I like it a lot. It is a pretty car and the price of it was a bargain, so I am very happy with the price of the Toyota that I bought a few years ago. Features are pretty standard and the radio could be better. I am glad I bought a Toyota a few years ago. It is now running really well and the color is staying the same. It has had some mechanical problems, so I hope there are no more problems. And I dislike the radio, no electric windows and nothing is really digital, but the car was cheap. I would also like a different color like charcoal. Still, my overall experience with the Toyota is good.

I have dealt with the Ganley (formerly Geller) dealership for 40 years. During that time the service department and sales consultants have for the most part been exemplary. I was distraught when my 2013 Scion XD was totaled by a driver running a red light. No one was injured or killed; however, I could barely think straight about a replacement car both with financing and the Scions unavailability.Sales consultant, Matt **, was outstanding and empathic about my situation. He is a star when it comes to following through with every detail. Dan **, John, and Mike ** are incredible in Service. All this dealerships mechanics also work on Mercedes as it is a dual dealership - a definite added advantage. Matt advised me that the 2019 CH-R XLE would be a great car for me and take away the sting of my losing my prior car. He was correct. The CH-R XLE has beautiful styling and has so many safety features that my car insurance rates went down. Ganley Toyota is a wonderful dealership and truly represents the Quality of the Toyota brand.

And you see a lot of older Toyotas still on the road. After my first Toyota I decided I would stay with them on my next purchase. And I have not been disappointed with my decision to buy another one. I currently have the Toyota RAV4 and the only thing I dont care for is the size of the gas tank. I feel like every time I turnaround I am having to find a gas station.

It is obvious that this is a Toyota problem; however, they do not want to stand by their product and replace the faulty item. It will cost me 600+ dollars to fix it, they do not replace the part but take the original part out of your car replaced the capacitor’s and send it back to the customer. All of that for $600. I will have to be without a vehicle for two weeks. When it gets hot outside the combination meter fails. When it is cold it works.

I contacted the Toyota corporate and they agreed to have it looked at. When they finally found the problem and I was right, they denied me of getting it fixed. They told me to call the Kia dealership in which I purchased. However, why would I have my Toyota certified vehicle fixed at a Kia dealership. Then they told me to buy a warranty. But if the car has a precondition, it wont get fixed anyway. So now Im out money and instead of their price of 300 I will have to pay 1300. Im so upset. My name is Andrew ** and I work in the automotive industry. I am a Team Leader at a Toyota Dealership in Lancaster, Ohio. I have been around, owned or driven hundreds of makes and models of cars new and used. I have also owned my fair share. Recently I purchased a 2017 Toyota 4Runner JTEBU5JR9H5470030 (Sep. 2, 2017) and within the first couple hundred miles of driving in I noticed a really bad steering wheel shimmy/walk/shake. I am not sure what is the best way to describe it. I brought it back into the dealership (at that time I worked at a Kia dealership) to have them look at it. They balanced the wheels and checked the alignment and said it was fixed. I picked it up and nothing was fixed so the car ended back up in the shop for the another I believe 9 days as they tried to balance the tires. Bought new equipment to balance the tires better, switch tires and wheels from another 4Runner to finally saying that all 4 tires were no good and switching them out and using the new machine to road force balance them. Did it help? Yes it did for about a week. Unfortunately it all came back just the same. At this point I was tired of dealing with it so I just figured I would suck it up an accept it because it was only a lease and even though I wanted to buy it out at the end I didnt have to. Then in February I ended up getting a positon at the Toyota dealership and the problem was bothering me so bad still that I decided to try again to get it fixed since I didnt have to drive my car anywhere extra because now I worked there. Again they road force balanced the tires and said it was fine and then another week or two went by and I asked them to check the alignment which was off (probably from the constant shimmy) and they fixed that. I even reached out to Toyota to see if they would buy the car back since I was a good Toyota client. They said that the car was within guidelines. So here I am.I am not trying to get rich or get a settlement. All I want is for someone to look into this long existing problem that the Toyota 4Runner has that Toyota denies. It might never help my situation out but maybe just maybe it could help someone else out in the future. I am attaching some links that will show you that this is been a long ongoing problem that Toyota wont address. If you need to reach me other than by email my cell phone number is ** and my work number is ** Thanks for listening.

We have a 2019 from new Toyota CHR hybrid 7months in use and the paint has started to bubble, after inspection by Toyota said its because of bird poo. We have had cars for over 45 years and never had this issue. Is the paint suitable for purpose? Wont be able to use on the roads or park outside for fear of birds droppings. I would of thought that the modern day environments the new paint coatings would be able to cope with this issue. How is it that all the other cars we have owned over the years never had this problem. Is it due to the thin quality of the body paint.

This 1991 Toyota pickup truck has good gas mileage. This truck takes knocks and bumps great. This truck always starts no matter what the weather. They seem to run forever. Ive had many people at gas pumps offering to buy it. It is 4 WD and gets through mud and snow easily. Its a stick shift so it can be push started without getting a jump. This pickup truck gets good gas mileage and is easy to handle and drive. It has the perfect amount of bed space as well as cab space for me. This truck is easy to work on and its easy to find parts for which are inexpensive. The insurance is also low for a vehicle as well as the taxes and tags. It is so sound. I only wish there were more of them. The thing I did not like about this truck is how the seatbelts are. They are placed in a way that they cut across your neck and no kind of seatbelt comfort aid helps this. I put a clamp on mine at the part where it retracts.

Toyota is a strong brand of vehicle. They have had recalls in the past but so has many others. Yet they continue to strive for the better. I have been taken good cared of by the company. For maintenance, you just have to find a good dealership or shop because that is where it can all go south! Which I have encountered recently. It can be bad when you are failed in that way. Parts do not have to always be factory parts for your vehicle to survive which will make it at times easier on the pocket. The overall conclusion is be a safe and careful driver. Dont fully depend on others to tell you if something is wrong with your vehicle. Check it often and you will have a happy vehicle!

I was given 3 estimates, ranging from $300 to $500, then after my car was towed to the dealership was told it would be $700 plus $200 for second key. Nothing is in the manual stating the extreme consequences of not having 2 keys. In the certified checklist, it only states master key. I feel like an essential part was not included; the second key. Lets examine how Toyota treats its customers. Helped my 76 old mother purchase a new Corolla Hatchback as my dad suddenly died before they could go car shopping. I needed to wait for the state license plates to arrive so as to replace the plastic dealer branded plates. I find that the the rear dealer plate had been attached to the rear bumper cover using two shorter self-tapping screws. There are two 2 x 2 1/8 holes completely through the bumper cover, exposing the internal aluminum structure of the bumper. Just above these are screws holes with metal clips. These are for mounting Japanese license plates, but are not even usable for that as the metal clips have no internal threads. Toyotas solution for attaching American plates is to attach the plate directly to the bumper cover large screws that are typically used here to secure metal siding to a farm building. The front license plate bracket has snaps to the front grill along its bottom edge. Toyotas solution for attaching the top of the license plate bracket and the top of the plates is to use even two larger screws through the front of the grill. The front license plate bracket is not a Toyota part, but something one of their distributors or dealer put on. Likely one of their distributors as it has holes for American, Japanese and Australian plates, which are are screwed into the front of the grill. Even if this had been an official Toyota part, it would still attach to the front grill in the same manner. This not only damages the car, but prevents the use of any aftermarket license plate brackets as these rely on machine screws that fit into internally threaded screw holes. I have used aftermarket license plate cases for year as they protect the license plate from the environment and protect the car from the license plate. Toyota instead expects you to screws the plate directly onto the back of the bumper cover where it will be unprotected and scratch the car.Toyota has gone out of its way to hide this fact form potential buyers. Every single photo of this model on their website, printed materials and inventory searches has a simulated license plate over the rear bumper cover so you can see the two large holes and metal clips for Japanese plates as well as four small circles indicating where to drill holes for American plates. Every single photos of this product does not show a license plate attached to the front of the vehicle at all. They have also digitally removed the small drill here dots from the front grill.Upon searching Google I find that the company has been engaged in this fraud for a number of years and did nothing to address consumer complaints. The company and dealer response is that you were dumb enough to be suckered by our fraud so its your problem. They refuse to do anything. I encourage you to contact your state attorney general and a law firm engaged in class action lawsuits to make Toyota pay for its fraud. **

My Prius is fine. However, I regret this recent purchase as I have just learned that Toyota is irresponsibly abetting the attempt to reduce emission/mileage standards. I have bought a number of Toyotas in the past and have always thought that I was helping to move, however slowly, towards the massive reduction in emissions that we achieve before further collapse makes that question, and so many others (as well as auto makers profits) moot!
