Automobile Repair

Saab manufactures cars that owners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy autos require occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Saab Auto repair from experienced professionals, your local Auto Helper can help.

The vehicle is not starting
If your vehicle either takes a long effort to start, or the vehicle just won't start by any means then the most predictable issue can be a dead battery. You need to be very observant in order to correctly identify and troubleshoot such an issue with your vehicle. If In response of turning your ignition key the vehicle is totally silent than the issue is with the battery or connecting terminals for sure. If there is a cranking sound while ignition than the issue might be with the fuel intake or the spark plug. In any case, you can arrange a tow truck or if possible can jump start your vehicle using a jump starter kit to safely reach a nearby workshop for further investigation of the issue.

A Sputtering Engine
If your engine is sputtering, this can be caused by a multitude of factors too. A torn fuel line, bad quality gas, dirt in your gas tank, a leaky injector, a faulty coil pack, worn fuel pumps, and even something as simple as fouled spark plugs can all be the cause of you getting stuck on the side of the road. Hence, we recommend inspection of these areas as soon as the issue begins to present itself, working your way from the cheapest item to the most expensive or most difficult to repair. Hoping that it will go away can result in greater problems down the line, many of which can be very costly.

Heavy Oil Consumption
It is not uncommon for an engine to consume oil - this is a byproduct of heat and wear. However, if you find that your vehicle seems to be using more than normal (a quart every 1,000 miles or so is regular), then it may be a good idea to inspect your vehicle for leaks or other problems. Worn gaskets can contribute to a leak, as can an aging sump plug or a damaged oil filler cap, but if none of these appear to be the cause, then you may have internal issues. One possibility is blowby on the piston rings. A compression test can confirm if this is the problem.

Battery
The battery is one of the principal components of a vehicle that its needs in order to work appropriately. The life expectancy of a battery is around 5 years. The battery comprises of lead and highly corrosive acid. A normal problem that occurs with battery is bad terminals.  By applying lubricants on the terminals of battery you can keep the battery fit as a fiddle. In case you are not a big fan of maintaining a battery, what you can do is buy maintenance free battery, which will work for a very long period without any issues. However, you can do the following to ensure the proper functioning of your battery:
1. Inspect battery terminal
2. Inspecting the connecting wires of the battery
3. Check the water level, if needed add distilled water. Be careful!
4. Using the voltmeter check the battery voltage for the output of 12 volts

Exhaust Smoke
Unusual smoke from your car’s tailpipe isn’t good news and different colors of smoke depict a different story.
• White or Grey Smoke: White smoke indicates that the coolant is being combusted along with the fuel and there is a leakage somewhere in the Engine block, cylinder head, and head gasket.
• Blue Smoke: Blue smoke indicates that there is a leakage in the valve seals or guides or the piston rings have worn out, which are causing the engine oil to penetrate into the combustion chamber which is causing the oil to burn along with the fuel. Hence Causing Blue Smoke.
• Black Smoke: This means that excessive fuel is being burnt in the combustion chambers due to a leak in the fuel injector, a stuck fuel pressure regulator, or a restriction in the fuel combustion pipe.
This usually happens with relatively older cars and in such situations, it is very crucial to get the leaks checked by a specialized mechanic.

Low fuel mileage
Even though aggressive driving is one of the major causes of your car’s low fuel efficiency. However, if your car’s fuel efficiency is taking a hit despite you being a responsible driver then it is about time that you get your car serviced. Delay in car servicing can cause parts like spark plugs, O2 sensors, fuel injectors, and air filters to get dirty and clogged up, and hence they cannot function efficiently for optimum combustion of fuel. Hence, a comprehensive servicing of your car means all such parts are cleaned up or replaced (if necessary) and you can get your car’s fuel efficiency back on track.

Product Reviews:

I bought this car used a year ago and it has been great fun. Sporty and lux
I bought this car used a year ago and it has been great fun. Sporty and luxurious with lots of convenience features. A solid performer the v6 turbo packs a nice punch and the 6 speed automatic shifts better and quicker than I could, so I never feel required to use the paddle shifters. The variable valve timing really opens up the motor under full throttle as it lets out a ferocious scream. Yet quiet and extremely smooth in typical driving. And Saab stands behind the product, they did a free major repair for me even though the car was 5,000 miles past the warranty period! Massey Saab of Orlando is the best.

The turbo V6 has more power than you'll ever need without sacrificing
The turbo V6 has more power than you'll ever need without sacrificing power over fuel economy. Love the buttons, once you get used to them the entire car is extremely convenient to operate. Love the white with black trim leather sport seats, extremely comfortable. Great car in the city with the blind spot pass. mirror, drivers information center up top on the dash – quick glance and your back to traffic, acceleration, compass, display rear parking sensors, and the car itself is easy to see around you. I love driving in the snow, traction control is set perfectly for ice and the tiptronic shift is easy to slow down. The car is a ton of fun driving through the mountains. Cool keys!

sold my '06 9-3 Aero Aug 2013 & replaced it w/a 2009 2.0T for fuel
sold my '06 9-3 Aero Aug 2013 & replaced it w/a 2009 2.0T for fuel efficiency & I regret it every day. The 2.0T is plagued w/sensor probs that throw the car into limp home mode. Bought my 2.0T in Nov w/69k miles & it's been in the shop 2X & will be going again next week. I've only put 2500 mi on it. But I digress, this review is for the '06 Aero. The car was perfect for me. Sold it with 116k mi & it was still running beautifully. Needed a new radiator & some minor suspension repairs but the car still moved like it did when i bought it w/31k mi in 2008. Selling the 2.0T to look for another '06 Aero with the button dash. Feel like I gave up a child in August. haha

I bought my 2006 9-3 with a manual transmission 5 years ago with 70k miles
I bought my 2006 9-3 with a manual transmission 5 years ago with 70k miles on it. I now have 130k miles on it. It is by far the best every day driver I have owned. It handles great in all weather conditions and is extremely reliable. I have not had any breakdowns, it gets good mpg, has good acceleration, and again handles great! I have done regular maintenance using the recommended Mobile 1 full synthetic European blend oil every 5k miles as well as some normal wear and tear items on a 100k mi car ei: brakes, rotors, and a clutch. All electronics and mechanical items on the car still work like new. If you are looking for a used vehicle that is reliable and fun to drive, I would strongly recommend the Saab.

We bought our 93 2.0 turbo 4 cyl standard transmission convertible used wit
We bought our 93 2.0 turbo 4 cyl standard transmission convertible used with 33,000 miles 2 months ago. The previous owner kept it in excellent condition and I think we got a terrific price at less than 1/2 of it's original price. The car is solid, the doors are heavy, outside noise is minimal and the road noise is less than our Volvo S60. The stick shift is smooth and the steering tracks very tight with minimal lean in the turns. The top is a marvel to watch and is water tight while driving. The trunk space is flexible so if you need more space put up the top. I am 6'2" and I can fit in the back seat fine. The seats are more comfortable than our previous Mercedes.
