Ram Trucks, stylized as RAM and formerly known as the Ram Truck Division, is an American brand of light to mid-weight commercial vehicles, and a division of Stellantis. It was established in a spin-off from Dodge in 2010 using the name of the Ram Pickup line of trucks.

The 2011 Ram Dakota is a midsize pickup truck that was produced by Ram Trucks, a division of Chrysler Group LLC (later known as FCA US LLC and now part of Stellantis). The Dakota was a versatile truck known for its towing and hauling capabilities, as well as its comfortable ride and spacious interior.

Here are some key features and specifications of the 2011 Ram Dakota:

Engine Options: The 2011 Ram Dakota offered two engine options:

3.7-liter V6 engine: This engine produced around 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque.

4.7-liter V8 engine: This more powerful option generated approximately 302 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque.

Transmission: The engines were paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission or an optional 5-speed automatic transmission. While not as advanced as more modern transmissions, they were reliable and served their purpose.

Drive Options: The Ram Dakota was available in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations. The 4WD system provided enhanced off-road capabilities and traction in various driving conditions.

Towing and Payload Capacity: The Dakota was capable of towing trailers and hauling payloads. The exact towing and payload capacity varied depending on the engine, drivetrain, and optional towing packages.

Crew Cab and Extended Cab: The Dakota was offered in both Crew Cab and Extended Cab configurations, providing seating for up to five passengers in the Crew Cab and additional storage space behind the front seats in the Extended Cab.

Interior and Features: The interior of the 2011 Ram Dakota was relatively spacious and offered various features, depending on the trim level. Available features included power windows and locks, a touchscreen infotainment system, and available leather seating.

Safety Features: Standard safety features included front airbags, side-curtain airbags, antilock brakes (ABS), and electronic stability control (ESC).

Trim Levels: The 2011 Ram Dakota was available in different trim levels, offering various features and options to suit different preferences and needs.

End of Production: The 2011 model year marked the end of the Dodge/Ram Dakota's production. The Dakota was discontinued after the 2011 model year, and Ram Trucks shifted its focus to full-size pickup trucks.

As with any used vehicle, it's essential to conduct a pre-purchase inspection and obtain a vehicle history report to assess its condition and maintenance history. For the latest and most accurate information, I recommend consulting official Ram sources or visiting a Ram dealership.

Product Reviews:

I have a 2012 Ram 2500 mega cab Laramie Diesel, having multiple problems with the shaking in rear end and knocking in motor when first started. Taken to dealer after dealer, can't be fixed. Chrysler tells me they would have a tech come out. "NOT"!!!!!! Tell me have to take to another dealer to get a second opinion. Still can't fix and it has 58000 miles on it. Junk!!!!!!

Bad service until I reported them to BBB and Chrysler Service - they finally asked me to drop my truck for an inspection on my driveshaft. I bought a pick up truck on Nov 1st, 2014 and two weeks later I found out that I have engine light on, extremely Rusty powertrain driveshaft and front bumper came off by itself. Regarding my front bumper, one of the service guy who always sitting on the front to greet customers and taking their information, attempted to claim that I ran into something. I asked him to take a look himself. Obviously he couldn't find anything such as dent or scratches because like I told him, the bumper just came off by itself. One of the bumper, whatever you called that, the thing that hold the nuts ripped off and I don't even know how it happened. Bad manufacturing process I believe. He called the service manager who take a look himself for 10 secs and asked somebody to drive to the back to get it fix, no question being asked at all. That was alright with me including the engine light which was updated. The driveshaft is the whole new level.I found out later a lot of people from Fort Benning having problems with them, and have bigger mechanical problems (as in vehicle are not operational or having safety hazards). The rusty driveshaft was partially my fault, because I should have check the bottom part of the truck before I purchased it. However, right now they still don't want to resolve my driveshaft issue since Chrysler wouldn't do it either and my case file was closed. I was told that I have to pay on my own to get it cleaned out or doing whatever service I have to on my driveshaft. It cost me $60,000~ to buy this, and this is not ethical at all for their service. I am not going to talk about other features that the salesman promised me on the truck because I know most of them are just lies since I corrected the salesman for several times regarding the features of the trucks. However, certain things I was not sure so I bought into it at that time. Payload is only 1800~ lbs but I was told I have 3000~ lbs. Towing is only 17,000~ lbs but I was told 22,000~ lbs. I don't care much about the towing since if I do buy a trailer or 5th wheel, it wouldn't go beyond that towing capacity. However, the payload is what I need the most right now and this Laramie truck is not able to carry any truck camper for all seasons. 1800~ lbs is horrible for modern pick up truck. I am getting an attorney to fix my driveshaft and that is something I can do. I have to wait until around 2016 to get another new truck and this time I am not sure I will get Chrysler brand anymore. I will definitely lost around $10,000 to $15000 or more. That doesn't include $5000 extra cost on my truck compare to other dealer at that time and a special rebate of $500 that the dealer didn't give me (military rebate and additional $500 rebate to my referral). I will find a way to contact somebody in JAG or whoever to raise hell so that this dealer will be blacklisted from Fort Benning personnel. I should have rate the salesman bad rating on the survey. He (Paul) asked me to put all good rating on him.I attempted to resolve the problem with the dealer where I bought the truck from and Chrysler Service but nothing was resolved regarding my rusty driveshaft. I was told that I have to pay money to get it cleaned up. I bought it on Nov 1st, 2014 and two weeks later I just found out that the driveshaft is extremely rusty. However, nobody wants to take any responsibility. Do you really think most buyer would want to buy a rusty driveshaft if they found it on the spot? I will find an attorney after this Christmas holiday (or later on today, Dec 26th, 2014). This is simply not ethical. First thing I will do is, I will find several buyers from my unit in Fort Benning to make complaints to our JAG so that the dealer, Carl Gregory Dodge, RAM, Jeep from Victory Drive, Columbus, GA to be blacklisted so nobody from Fort Benning, GA will ever set foot on their store. Next, I will have to deal how to get my own truck fixed. Other buyers, I have gathered have other bigger mechanical issues with this dealer. Since, we couldn't resolve this in a proper honest business relationship this is the only solution to fix the whole fiasco. I asked for paperworks regarding my last service with your company and Lawrence told me it was your company policy that the case files are not allowed to be release. They are considered legal documents but your company couldn't even released it.As of Jan 10, 2015, My Bumper is falling off again and I can see the gap is getting bigger but not as bad like last time. Also, Chrysler, nor the dealership considering replacing my rusty driveshaft. I am sick of hearing from the fanboys talking about nothing wrong with it. Really? You seriously would walk into a shop to buy anything that is rusty just because you are the loyal brand follower? My payload is still horrible and I couldn't buy the truck camper like I originally plan. This truck is not built to carry any heavy payload for the equivalent class 3/4 tons. 1st time buyer of RAM truck.

Updated on 01/14/2019: The worst truck ever saga continues. Since picking up my truck after 14,000 in damages, almost 3 months in the shop, my truck still jumps from park into drive while running, and the dashboard lights up and the speedometer needle jumps to 10 mph with the engine off and the key out of the ignition. I am at 29,000 miles and according to my insurance company and two dealers that I’ve spoken with, I am stuck with this truck. Oh, of course the dealers would love to sell me another new truck with no deals or incentives. Way to go Mopar!! Another non-satisfied customer!!!Original Review: I will try to keep this as brief as possible. Bought the truck new in 2017. July of 2018 received recall for auto park. Previously I had no issues. After I took the truck in, nothing but problems with the auto park. Either the truck won’t go into gear or it will jump from park into drive. In October 2018 my wife was sitting in the truck with engine running and in park and it jumped into drive and drove her into a pond. After 700.00 in towing, almost 14,000 in repairs, 2 1/2 months of being in the shop and I just picked up the truck December 27, and the truck still jumps into drive from park! Anyone heard of any lawsuits concerning this issue? We have contacted the NHSB and we encourage you to do the same!!!

1997 Dodge Truck - The clear coat has peeled off most of the hood and cab top and is spreading to the front fenders. It cost me almost $1,800.00 to repair the front suspension because there was no fitting on any joints. The fresh air intake allows trash to enter the system, which will build up over a 30 amp resistor and start a fire. It took almost 3 months to get the smoke smell out. Dodge installed a new resistor but did not repair the melted heater housing, which also affects the A/C during the summer.

2011 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 diesel. Less than a year old, the engine light would be on and off. As of November 2012, the engine will not start. It has been to 3 dealers with no conclusion of the problem. The computer has been changed along with other items. Chrysler now claims that the engine is out of warranty because of bad fuel. Not to mention, the last dealer who had it left the motor disassembled and pieces missing. I highly recommend anyone going for a Chrysler or Dodge product to seriously reconsider. This vehicle is costing me tons of money with my business, and personal costs such as attorney fees, tow bills, rentals, and loss of work.

First of all Dodge Ram offer the most sporty truck out there. It's in a class by itself, other trucks look square. I love that there's different models to choose from to fit your needs. They have the most towing power and the most horsepower. I love the quad cab which can carry six persons and not to mention the style which brings class to there vehicles. The quality you get for the price which some vehicles fall short. Plus they're long lasting, I own an 2003 and it's still running and people are still complimenting me on how it looks. Dodge Ram for life!

On Oct 31 I was driving to work in my 2013 Ram 2500 Laramie, 58K truck. About 3/10 of a mile before my turn in, the transmission threw itself in 1st gear (from about 45MPH) and the truck completely stalled in the roadway. No gears, transmission would not engage, no power, no go. Had the truck towed to Moss Bros San Bernardino. Moss tells me it will be at least 1 week before they can even LOOK at my vehicle - however it was already towed to the dealer, and as stated before - it was and still is completely inoperable. The following day I receive a call from Moss Bros - stating they THINK a bearing on the input shaft "grenades" itself through the transmission, and is covered under warranty and they're going to work on getting a replacement.Fast forward to Friday the 4th I receive a phone call from the dealer and they say they HAVE NOT torn down the transmission case nor done anything to the vehicle. Well how could they have known or hypothesised a bearing went out without even having looked at the vehicle? The following week I receive a phone call from the dealer stating that the transmission will be rebuilt and covered by FCA however, parts are on back order (specifically the valve body). My service writer told me to expect it to be in by the 22nd of November. However, he also mentioned they have brand new transmissions (68RFE) in stock at their local warehouse. However FCA will not authorise a replacement. All while my vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for approx. 2 weeks at this point and I have not been offered a rental vehicle of any sort. So I call FCA "Parts escalation" and I am told the valve body is on back order and to expect it by the 22nd. November 22 rolls around and I receive a phone call saying that there was an issue with the vendor for the valve body and they are "delighted to inform me that the part will arrive the week of the 28th".I explain to FCA parts escalation how this is unacceptable as my work vehicle, revenue generating work vehicle, my fleet vehicle has been out of service for 3 weeks and I cannot do my job with my personal vehicle. I was not offered any kind of rental for my truck being in service for so long either. Parts escalation then assigns me a "case manager". I'm told to expect a call from the case manager the following day. Never received phone call. The following day I receive a phone call from Felicia in Chrysler Parts escalation and she explains to me that the valve body will be delivered on 12/1/16, however that IS NOT A GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE AND IS SUBJECT TO FURTHER DELAY. Again, 12/1/16 marks 31 days without my work vehicle.I call my case manager repeatedly only to never receive a callback or even as much as an email. Fast forward to today, 11/28/16. I call my case manager and repeatedly leave voicemails demanding to be called back. After about 4 attempts I get ahold of someone who passes me onto a manager, who then calls my case managers, Irving, directly. Irving explains that Chrysler is not responsible to provide a rental vehicle, nor will they provide a rental vehicle, nor will they compensate for a rental vehicle, nor will they replace the transmission (when the COMPLETE transmission is in stock at the local warehouse) and I will have to wait until the valve body is delivered.I got a complete run-around from him about how FCA is not liable for rentals, nor is the dealership, and nor will they further investigate replacing the transmission with one in the local warehouse to get me back on the road faster. So here I am still without my work truck not being able to do nearly 1/5 of my daily tasks because FCA will not do anything to expedite the repairs on my vehicle. I should also note that the vehicle is currently under the 5 year 100K mileage warranty. FCA corporate has given me nothing but a complete run-around and basically "shove it" attitude about expediting the repairs on the vehicle or issuing a replacement which would have solved the issue 100% and gotten me back on the road 3 weeks ago.

I am 32 years old and have owned 3 Ram trucks. I bought all 3 as the second owner from a Dodge Dealership. I bought a 2012 Ram 2500 with the Hemi 18 months ago. It was over 100k miles but had only one owner who had all the maintenance completed at the dealership. It appeared to be a super clean truck. Within the first 6 months the solenoid went bad in the transmission. $500. Now I am facing a bad camshaft and poor lifters. $3500. I have had the truck less than 18 months and am dumping over $4,000 into this truck and that is just to get it back to normal. Ram of course only has the same junk camshaft and lifters to put back into the truck. They have not improved it or do not have any aftermarket parts to fix their poor design. Not to mention it took 3 weeks to get in because this part remains on back order. I had loved my other Ram trucks and was happy with this one before this problem occurred but I will never own another one and like I said I am only 32. I would urge anyone looking for a truck to choose another brand. I cringe when I see them saying longest lasting trucks on the road. Good luck and don't buy a junk Hemi. It is only as good as its parts.

2006 dodge dually 3500 megacab. I bought new..had all the required book maintenance done. The six years I had it I spent $9000 in repairs. Everything from a 700 exhaust system to ball joints to tie rods..Universal joints...the last straw was a bad fuel ejector and bad computer control module. They said 4000 to fix..I would have went for a ford but they had my truck on the racks. I traded for a 2012 Laramie 3500 dually megacab. .12 miles a gallon..my other truck 5.9 got 22 to 23 mpg. Just seen a recall for the front end...thinking about trading for a ford before the headache begins. By the way my 06 only had 113000 when I traded it.

2020 Ram Longhorn seats are uncomfortable and painful. Beautiful truck however, it is undriveable due to the extremely poor seat design. The contour of the seat design hurts the legs and hips and was not thought out whatsoever, which destroys what would be a great truck. It is important to design a seat correctly to make your product driveable, what a complete disappointment and it is unfathomable how this could possibly pass testing. Ram needs to step up and rectify this issue immediately.
