Our 2013 Nissan Altima (3 years old), only 89, 000 miles and we have owned for 2 years, the transmission went completely out. We have maintain, like clockwork, all maintenance on this car. If tire pressure light appeared we took it to the DEALER ONLY. This car has only been serviced by the Nissan/Infiniti dealer. We logged a complaint with Nissan consumer affairs and they declined repair and/or assistance with repairs for a major component of the car. Her response because we were 28,000 miles past the 60,000-mile warranty or 5 years, which we are under the 5-year mark, they could not do anything and we are responsible for the repairs. $4500 dollar repair and they refuse to even assist with the repair.We were told by a Nissan mechanic that Nissan is fully aware of the issues with the transmissions in the 2013-2015 Nissan Altima and yet they won’t do a recall or provide assistance to owners. This is heartless and senseless of such a major company. I used to have a 2010 Nissan Altima which was great, never had any issues so when my lease was up I decided to lease a 2013 Altima. What a mistake. I've been with my car for about 2 1/2 years, since the moment it left the dealer it'd been a disaster. Couple of months after I leased my car, I noticed I had a weird noise coming from the transmission. I took in the car for service so they can take a look at it. They said they ran a few test and told me nothing was wrong with the transmission and that it was normal that it was making that noise. Couple of months passed by and I noticed that when I would accelerate the car would get stuck and it would stop. This is something very dangerous and could of caused an accident. April 24 2014 I took the car in AGAIN for the second time. This time I needed a new transmission. I also had a noise coming from my sunroof and my back window. The guy at the dealer said it was just a clip that needed to be fixed. It's now March 2015, almost a year and I'm back at the dealer for the third time, not for the transmission but for the AC! My AC is now broken. The service told me my compressor has a leak. You would think they would lend me a car while they get it fixed, correct? Nope, they didn't. They put freon with a dye to see where the leak is coming from because that's the way "their warranty works." Guy at the service told me to bring it back in a few days to see exactly where the leak was coming from. AC stopped working today (it's now 90 degrees in Miami), I took it in for the fourth time hoping they can get this replaced ASAP!! NEGATIVE! They told me to come back Sunday because they didn't have any cars to let me borrow in the meantime. I'm sure this isn't the last time the service area is going to see me. My transmission is making noise again, my right side windows gets stuck and I have the rattling noise again from my sunroof and my rear windshield. Words can't describe how upset I am with Nissan. I pay a pretty good amount for a car that has had so many issues. I cannot wait until the day I can turn this cheap car! I'm currently getting prices with other dealers. I will never lease with Nissan again. My lease will be up in a couple of months, I'm currently getting prices with other dealers. This is a reliable vehicle. It is small and has a sporty feel but still feels safe. It handles well & acceleration. The trunk area is quite small but I can fit a surprising amount of stuff in the car with the seats down. One of the most important features I was looking for this time around was a vehicle with AWD. I found my previous car slip-sliding around in the big rainstorms we had over the last few years and I wanted to solve that problem for a safer, less-stressful commute. The Nissan Juke has good gas mileage, comfortable seats and good power uphill (my commute home includes a long trek into the foothills). My major complaint is the small gas tank! I have to refuel multiple times a week for commute. Stil, I would recommend this car.Amie of Alpine, CA

My 2015 Nissan NV200 Van just hit 105k miles and transmission failed. I go to the dealership and that's when I find out how Nissan has a CVT transmission issue. I hear there's class action lawsuits and all. Well little did I know when I purchased. So the dealership said it will cost me $4300 to replace the transmission so I called Nissan Corporation Consumer Affairs and they said I'm out of luck. They only warranty 100k miles I'm 5000 miles over. What a piece of garbage company that puts out a bad product. No one expects a transmission to fail right around the 100k miles mark. My 2009 Nissan Versa has been a mechanically sound vehicle so far. My complaint has to do with the door locks. First, it was my hatchback. Couldn't open it from the outside. It is quite a task to have to climb in the back seat, reach over and manually open the rear hatch. I take my car to the dealer and I am told it is the door actuator, in other words, the electronic component that makes the door open. This was by no means an inexpensive repair. $327.00 to be exact - that was January. July comes around and my little Nissan Versa has 73,000 well maintained miles on it. Click, click. Oh NO! Now my passenger door on driver's side will not open, not even from the inside (that's safe). Once again, here I go to the dealer. "Yes ma'am", it is the door actuator again... cheap ** parts. This time it was $522.00. The service rep had called to tell me that the mechanic may have to break the door panel because he couldn't open the door from the inside. I replied, "Isn't he a certified Nissan mechanic," and he assured me he was. I told him if he broke it he was going to pay for it. That's why I took it to the dealer (West Covina) so this wouldn't happen. The mechanic was able to get the door panel off without breaking it. I wonder if Nissan thinks that these problems with door actuators are a safety hazard as well as an expensive burden on its customers. I understand that these components will go out at some point in time but my car is only 5 yrs old. Nissan, you really should take a look at these parts. They are dangerous, cheap, and a financial burden on your customers... If I wasn't through paying for my car, I would trade it in, not for a Nissan.Lori of Covina, CA

I took my vehicle in for an oil change and 60,000 mile tune up. For prevent measures the service technician advised me to have my transmission replaced. When i picked up the vehicle, I noticed within 5 miles a popping noise and hesitation during acceleration. The consequence was I had to take the vehicle back to Nissan and was told at that time that the "Transfer Case" had to be replaced, unneeded service and unneeded out of pocket expense. After making arrangements with Nissan to make to make a payment, I repeatedly get calls. I'll even explain that I've made an arrangement and need to release the line to answer my phone at work. The caller would have me in tears before releasing the line or I just simply hang up. I will have told them that I'm at work and need to leave the call. It's very embarrassing to have my own customers overhear my conversation!! It's very emotionally draining to try to perform your duties at work, in order to make your payment, and have Nissan repeatedly ask questions that you may not want to answer in front of your own customers. And if I'm working with a customer, they'll call my work phone and ask for my co-worker, which is my friend/cosigner. She is tired of the calls as well. I know my payment need to be made. I recently purchased a "brand new" 2015 Nissan Armada Platinum in mid-April. This is my 5th Nissan vehicle (2 Xterra's and 3 Armadas). I have always joked when looking at other cars that I am a Nissan girl. The joke is over and I will NEVER, EVER purchase a Nissan vehicle again... EVER!!! We purchased the vehicle from our local dealership. They found the vehicle I wanted at nearby dealership (it was being driven/demo'd by the GM of that dealership), so they did a dealer trade. When I went in to sign papers and take possession of the vehicle (on a Wednesday), I noticed that the headphones, remote control, and owner manuals had not been put back in the vehicle by the GM. The next day, I noticed that the front end was out of alignment and called the service dept. to set up a time for them to fix it. I also noticed that the back of the 2nd row headrests were beat up (pieces of the hard plastic were dug out like something had been hauled in the back and dug into the headrests). The power lift gate would open, but when you pushed the button to close it - it would go down and just before it shut, it would pop back up like something was in the way. We noticed that when the lift gate was closed - on the left side, the space between the lift gate and the body was normal, but on the right side there was a big gap. It was a noticeable gap and big enough that my husband could easily put his fingers into the space. When we took the vehicle to the dealership we showed them the gap. The service manager made calls to Nissan, but was told the gap was within their specs of being "ok", and since it wasn't leaking then basically we were told to deal with it. A few days later, we had a pretty lengthy thunderstorm. A day or so later, I opened the lift gate to my vehicle and inside the gap - I cleaned out a handful of wet leaves and debris. In less than ONE month of owning the vehicle, the issues we have discovered are: Lift gate gap, shotty body work on the roof where it meets the lift gate, beat up 2nd row headrests, GPS outdated - but Nissan will sell me the update for an additional $130, driver side seat belt will not release - has to be pushed repeatedly to unlatch, the front and rear air do not work independently from each other as they are suppose to, and the power window control panel on the driver door is sticking up out of the door, instead of being flush with the door (the passenger side is fine). I contacted (800)-Nissan1 and they opened a case. I told them that this particular vehicle was janky and had too many little issues for a $50,000 brand new, top of the line (according to them) vehicle. I told them I did not want my money back, I just wanted the same car without all the problems. I received a call today, from Justin with Nissan, to notify me that my vehicle was not eligible for a buy back. Basically - the lift gate gap was within their specs of acceptable. I was told the car was still under warranty, put it in the shop, and let them fix it. So... my brand new, top of the line vehicle has to go into the shop a month after purchasing it for multiple issues. I leased a car in July of 2006. I received a property tax bill to pay in January. I got a signed and notarized affidavit stating that this vehicle was used for personal use only and that I did not live in the county where the property tax was being applied. In addition, the county where I purchased the vehicle and also reside does not charge property taxes. The first year was fine. I received another bill the second year and I submitted the same paperwork. NMAC claimed they never received it and that I owed them for taxes. I did not pay for it. The following year, I received another bill. When I submitted the forms again, I was told they could not accept them because I had not paid the previous year's taxes. I just recently tried to refinance my home and my credit report is damaged because of this. I have tried calling to clear this mess up and was told rudely that this will not go away until it is paid. I submitted everything the company told me to do exactly and yet, this is still on my credit report. They have been extremely rude and have even hung up on me. I needed a part for my Nissan Versa that was on "national back order." For almost 3 weeks West Hills Nissan in Moon Township, PA and Nissan North America treated my problem with no care and refused to give me a used car or a rental car. After talking to about a half dozen people and complaining they got some guy named "Angelo" from Nissan Corporate to help me. He told me Nissan parts often go on national back order and this was a common thing. He said it was too bad I didn't rent a car because he would have reimbursed me - although I was told they wouldn't when this nightmare started.
