Lexus is entering into the fray of mainstream luxury electric vehicles (EV) with the introduction of the new 2023 Lexus RZ 450e crossover today. The Lexus RZ marks the first EV developed for global markets, which is something that may be rather trendy for Lexus in the years to come as they move to a fully electric lineup around the world by 2035. The new 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is expected to be a vehicle that moves the EV needle for luxury vehicles that are somewhat affordable because of its global reach. The RZ 450e is a new creation from the ground up and will only be in EV form borrowing some of the architecture from the recently introduced Toyota bZ4X. Interior The design and proportions look familiar for the Lexus brand language but slightly do away with the traditional spindle grille for a body-colored facia where a large grille isn’t required, because EV! Other cues throughout are recognizably Lexus and take note of where they needed to go when you compare it to the current gas-burning Lexus RX. The RZ is actually larger than the RX for its overall length but about 3 inches shorter than the RX’s height. Inside you’ll find a more minimalistic layout but some familiar parts from vehicles like the new Lexus NX using the same 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system interface. Performance To get to the parts that matter because the new Lexus RZ is their first attempt at midsized EV luxury, there’s a pair of electric motors powered by a 71.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. One motor at the front produces 201 horsepower and one at the rear axle generates 107 horsepower. Lexus doesn’t give a total power output figure but with those numbers, the RZ should do well out on the road and out-accelerate the current RX 350. Torque split is the range of 60:40 and 40:60 (front/rear) while the system will direct a rear bias power between 50% and 80% to the rears when executing a powered turn. An optional steer-by-wire setup will make maneuvers like U-turns easier and potentially opt for a yoke-type steering wheel, which may not require much steering effort or degree-of-turn to make the best use of such a unique design. We will have to report on any updates and conformations of this at a later date! Range The range of the new Lexus RX 450e is set at 225 miles but nothing official has been released from the EPA as of yet. Hopefully, that range number is a conservative estimate from Lexus, and we could see it best the Toyota bZ4X’s 252-mile range. Pricing and Availability The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e will hit dealerships at the end of 2022 with pricing announced just before.

Seems there is no point in having a recorded line because clearly if its not to their benefit it is non consequential. They call about important matters, from random ** phone numbers and NEVER leave a voicemail, and months later state we tried contacting you!!! I am a professional, I dont have time for mediocrity. Each of these categories also may have sub categories that usually relate to trim level. The Lexus car brand has always stood for a high quality luxury vehicle. Typically each model will include almost all of the features that one would think are associated with a luxury car within the standard price. There are additional packages of specialized features that are grouped logically at more cost - for example a cold weather package would include heated seats, 4 wheel drive, etc. The Lexus RX is a 5 passenger vehicle - two bucket seats in the front and a bench seat with seating for three in the back. There is no third row in this car. Each model has upgrade options that are presented as packages so that you can personalize the options to your needs to a degree. You are forced to go with a package even if you do not want or need everything in that package. That is a drawback to me.

First... Let me say that my Lexus dealership is fantastic. They were available and worked hard to solve my problem. That being said... My problem was with Lexus Roadside Assistance Program. At 6 pm I hit a rather large pothole with my CT200 which resulted in a flat tire. I got myself to a place out of traffic and called my dealership who told me I could call Lexus Roadside Assistance and gave me the # and transferred me. The call rang and rang... Finally someone picked up... Asked me if I was in a safe location (I responded yes) and said ok... She was going to place me back on hold, they just wanted to initially make sure I was not in an accident and was in a safe location. (My impression was high... Its a good process).I was then on hold for 20 minutes! I hung up and called back... Went through the same process... Another 15 minutes later I repeated my process and when the safety person answered the phone I asked him to please not put me on hold that I had been waiting for a while to speak to someone. He arrogantly told me that my situation was not priority and they were getting slammed with accidents and put me on hold.I called my dealership for advice... They were baffled and suggested I call AAA... I also ask them if the service manager who has ALWAYS been helpful, could give me a call when he got a chance. I hung up and called AAA and placed the request. In the meantime the service manager got hold of someone at Roadside Assistance and conferenced them in to me. At first the client service rep was seemingly irritated, but then calmed down and took my information and told me hed call AAA. I told him I had already done that. I must say that the ticket placed by Lexus was answered prior to my personal call to AAA, which is another matter, but I waited and AAA showed up and took care of my problem.While this is not as big an issue as others have had and I was not in danger... Merely irritated... I do have to speak to their customer service representatives and the process they have in place. They do have a system to find out the urgency of each callers situation, however, from a provider of high end luxury cars, the service seemed to stop there. Perhaps those who were having a true emergency received stellar service, but I should have too. Once it was determined that I was safe I shouldnt have had extended wait time to speak with someone... I was a woman, alone in a disabled car, in a not perfect location at dark. I should not have had to wait for over an hour to finally get in touch with someone for assistance.I would have preferred that Lexus process took into account that everyone calling them needed to be attended to in a timely fashion. It seems they have attempted to create a process, it just doesnt work well for non-emergency consumers.

They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.

I took it to Lexus of North Miami where they changed a sensor for $ 500 - that did not fix the problem. Brought it back thinking there was a warranty in their work, and they told me I needed a whole new Catalyst System, a $ 2,000.00 job. Took it down to a friends shop and he told me that they should have known that was the problem to begin with. First degree fraud is what I call that. Cant trust these Lexus dealers. One says one thing, the other says another thing, and in the end, the customer gets punished. I wont be buying a Lexus ever again (Pity because the car looks nice).

We were told by the dealer that they just dont work too well. The new car has saddle tan leather seats, so they should actually work better than the 2010. I’ve never been so disappointed and upset. So besides the above mentioned. They installed two TV’s on each seat and there’s a huge color difference between the top headrest where the TV are installed and the actual seat. I always owed the TVs that come installed from the manufacturer not aftermarket by Lexus. So when we take the car for the scheduled maintenance now if you need a loaner it takes 3-4 weeks for the Lexus dealership to give an appointment date. To top it out they don’t wash nor vacuum the car.Basically, you are better off going to the Hyundai, Honda or Kia dealership. Pay way less and get excellent customer service and no stress. Trust me Lexus IS way overpriced for the quality. Example. My friends wanted a Lexus just like ours but they started noticing all the defects and they got an BMW SUV. You should see the difference. First in the customer service was excellent and the luxury and technology of the car. Lexus are all outdated and with many issues on quality. There’s something serious going on with the quality control department. Reported all and they promised me back in November, then in December to order me a black on black Lexus. The pigeon died on the way! It’s August and nothing. And we have been dumb enough to recommend family and friends to the torture and they have done business but consideration for us. Watch when my lease is over that I’ve driven that nasty looking car how the black on black will magically appear but to their surprise they lost another customer. Last Lexus that I purchase or lease.

I do not know how in the world Lexus could call a Lexus ES 350 “Bulletproof” when the heads blew on the one I had at 145,000 miles, not mention the failing computer, the alternator, the Vehicle Stability Control, and let’s not forget their melting dash, the allegedly lethal Takata airbag system, and years earlier that accelerator problem. I do not understand how anyone who had problems I had could possibly call it reliable. The whole experience was shameful. Given my experience with a Lexus, I now question Consumer Reports rating system for rating that company number one in reliability. I had American cars I got three to four times the life out of than this supposed “Bulletproof” reliable car. I am sticking Mercedes, Genesis, Honda, Mazda, Kia, or Hyundai. In my opinion there are better cars for the same or less money than the Lexus ES350 I owned.

When it was decided to pass it down to my 3rd year medical student, daughter, because of the supposed reliability, I took the vehicle in for the repair. When I left there with a diagnosed timing cover leak, engine oil leak, that occurs in about 100% of these due to a manufacturing problem, and was notified of a $2,800 cost, my trust in this vehicle is over. Not only was that uncovered, but my daughter has complained of the navigation/electrical system shutting off/rebooting approx. 8 times in a 2 hour drive. Jim Hudson Lexus service advisor said I needed an update for $186. Upon further review, I do not believe an update will help. I reached out to Lexus Corporate and after the case manager, finally, reached someone at Jim Hudson, this has been ongoing for about 3 weeks, she called to tell me that Jim Hudson could not create the navigation problem so they did not have a suggestion other than to leave the car with them for further diagnostics. Since the driver is a medical student, 2 hours away, this additional diagnosis time may not be a possibility. Also, she wanted to notify me that Lexus will not be able to help with the repair of the oil leak. After discovering the continued problems with these vehicles, not just the 7 year old ones but the 1 week old ones, I will remove Lexus from my possible cars to buy in the future. Please beware of any Lexus vehicle you are thinking of buying. I do not know how they receive such high ratings.

However, if you have the money to buy the car in the first place, then you should not have any problems upgrading it if needed. Since my car is not large, the passenger capacity is limited. Then you get the option of only a few interior lighter colors then deep black. Second Lexus engineers destroyed the navigation system by taking away touch screen and installing a mouse to click 1 letter or number at a time, 10x slower than the old touch screen. Also their talk in navigation does not work half the time because its affected by AC or radio noise. Its real garbage, a $150 tom tom is faster and better. They did this to save money. It will be gone next year or so. Also the geniuses at Lexus actually have a knob that pipes in engine noise into the cabin like its a high powered corvette, ridiculous.Now for the ride. Its rough because their 18 rims and little tire contacting road so you feel every little mild bump. Also the rims are dull cheap looking fake silver. Really ugly. The backup camera is fair but no front camera because they raised dashboard height to accommodate junk navigational. Now you cant see past mid hood creating blind spot of front distance of car to an object. Very little contrasting color on door panels or dash just a fake chrome colored clock. And the six stack CD player is gone now also with a basic 1 CD insert and a few speakers average sound. Then to turn on accessories like windows, wipers, radio etc. You have to go through a crazy touch button twice while foot on brake pedal. Yes you can get satellite radio for a fee plus to use through the junk navigational will take 5 minutes to move a mouse for station.Then they got Lexus Enform built in with your navigational where you can pull car over and play with mouse to make dinner reservation, concerts, etc. Its idiotic just read up on the reviews of Lexus Enform. Use your cell to call a place you want reservations. It is 20x faster. Also the car engine with the dual exhaust is noisy as hell. Your neighbor can hear the motor running 3 doors down. I have a 2002 Lexus so this is how I know where the mistakes are in the new car compared to the 2002 GS 300 model which is so much better designed than the new 2015 junk. Also premium gas only and lousy mileage. I would have looked at other cars but my wife loved the old Lexus so she thought the new one would have the same nice features and smooth ride. No way is this plastic car worth more than $38,000 not 53k.So what is better on the Lexus 2015 versus 2002? Nothing to be honest. Has a few more useless steering wheel gadgets, thats it. So what do I like about it? Just increased engine power for passing. If youre thinking about buying this model take it on the freeway and some side streets with a few bumps then youll pass. Car was new when we bought it but had 90 miles on it telling me about 15 people test drove it then passed. I bought it from the liars at Keyes Lexus and they have some real trashy middle eastern hustlers that worked there. It was 5 hours of lies before I regretfully bought from the low class staff. Heres how much profit they make on a 53k MSRP car about 8-9 thousand so now you know what price theyll sell it at.Also the liar sales manager hustled my wife into an added warranty for 2 extra years only for $2800. Huge rip off. After we bought warranty the sales people said all new Lexuss come with a 7 year engine & trans warranty and 4 yr. 50,000 on the other parts. Before you buy look at Acura, Cadillac, Honda, etc. Also dont buy it if it has a mouse for typing and no touch screen. Last thing the door handles are painted silver but made of PLASTIC. For $53,000 3 stars overall is correct rating. The end!!!

The dash is melting, as well as the door panels. Ive had to replace both headlights. I also had minor engine problems which was covered under warranty. Lexus is rated as one of the top vehicles in the country. I would NEVER EXPECT a TOP RATED vehicle as Lexus to have this sort of issue (interior). I find this to be VERY UNFAIR to myself and other consumers who have purchased this vehicle and also experiencing this problem (interior). Lexus REFUSE to order a RECALL on this issue. I am sure this complaint is not the only complaint on this particular model (IS250). A few days back, while driving, I noticed the hazard sign turned suddenly on and check hybrid system was flashing. Among the things that I noticed were the failure of cars cruise control and the SOS light turning red.I immediately took the car to the dealership service department, who diagnosed it as the failure of the airbag ECU. The replacement cost me $995.42. My service consultant at the dealership is a very nice gentleman, who said that there was no specific maintenance for the unit. That suggested to me that the unit on the car was defective and Lexus should be replacing it free of charge, but they did not. I have heard that computer malfunctions are not uncommon on the cars made by Toyota Motors. I am so disillusioned with Lexus that I have decided to take my business elsewhere and never buy another Lexus and, hopefully, convince my friends to do the same.

If it doesnt do this, then the other thing it does is when I say Please call John Smith, it says are you sure you want to call the contact? It absolutely NEVER just allows me to call someone without taking me through these steps. I have been to two different Lexus dealers about this. One told me it would take my new car a while to recognize my voice... OK, it has been 4 months and I went through the voice recognition set up a while ago. The other dealer could not explain it. Had I known this is what it is going to be like just to place a call, I never would have leased this vehicle as I am stuck with it for the next several years.

Absolutely nothing performed elsewhere, whether oil/filter, tires, brakes, etc. All periodic maintenance was religiously performed. My car would rough idle occasionally, and it began eating oil several years ago. Numerous oil consumption checks, and many, many trips to the dealership. My check engine vsc light came on 1/5/15, something that had occurred previously on multiple occasions, and I immediately took it to the dealership. Was told I NOW need the engine misfire repair, which to my understanding includes replacement of the pistons. Lexus Satisfaction has to get involved after the request for the repair from the dealership was denied by Lexus because the car is now 9 years old (which coincidentally just occurred). The engine misfire repair will be performed as long as the car is less than 9 years old. I then battled with Lexus Dissatisfaction and was ultimately informed they would not compromise on their decision. It is truly a very disappointing decision. Nothing more than typical corporate games. I will NEVER purchase another Lexus.

Therefore, I submitted a written letter by email to Toyota Motors explaining my findings.The reasons for selling this car are because (1) I never heard any reply back from Toyota Motors after submitting a letter to customer service. (2) my wife and family members in Asia was afraid of us driving it in the United States with an accident. Furthermore, they live very far away to come to our immediate attention if we were involved in an accident. (3) Lastly, there were sad news happening here and there because of this sudden acceleration issue. Finally, I sold the car to CarMax dealership in Monrovia, California in March of 2011 with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer.At first, I even went to Longo Lexus/ Toyota (which is the largest Toyota dealership in the United States) to sell the car back, but they explained that there is no recall on my car. The Longo Lexus service foreman even went on a test drive with me in my car and on the street. Also, Longo Lexus/ Toyota refused to give me a reasonable offer to buy my car back. I paid $40,000 brand new and sold the car at a big loss for only $24,000 to CarMax with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer because we were afraid to drive the car.Continuously, our friends and family comfort me that life is more valuable than losing money on a known trouble car. They found no leaks and there was no warning code or indication on the display panel of any malfunction. I have religiously done maintenance as recommended based on the professional advisement of Lexus from the date of purchase. All maintenance records can be obtained through Newark ToyotaWorld.After taking the RX350 to Toyota on September 21st, I was told by the Newark Toyota dealer that my car needs a new water pump and engine replacement. The cost to replace it with a used engine and no warranty is $8,049.49 and the cost to replace for a new engine is $14,985. I was told to remove my car from their parking lot within a few days. I talked to Lexus customer rep Cindy and Lis ** complaint #**, she told me to get my car towed or transported to Lexus of Wilmington to further analyze the engine malfunctions (I have already spent $120 diagnosis fee, and $100 in towing charges). Why I need to further waste more money for towing to Lexus of Wilmington, plus their diagnosis fee, when it has already been determined by a professional Engineer that there is no compression in the engine, Radiator is leaking, water pump and battery is discharged.Since I no longer have any reliable transportation, I have turned to public transport to go to doctors appointments, and receiving rides from my neighbors to run daily errands like food. I have depleted my savings funneling money into this so-called world class Lexus, now I have no money left to buy any new vehicles. My dream of enjoying my golden years driving a dependable luxury car has become a nightmare. I wish I had gone with a competitor’s product in hindsight. No remorse here. For a luxury vehicle the ride is a little bit harsh, but I like that, it handles well for a big vehicle. It is fast, much faster than the 4.0l ford ranger it replaced. Fuel economy? Meh, not great at 20mpg on average. The 3.5l V-6 is already a legend being in production a very long time. The six speed automatic is very nice and inspires confidant driving. Comfortable? Oh yeah, the heated (or cooled) leather seats more than make up for any road harshness.In a word this RX350 is fabulous. I have the base model and it sure is well equipped BUT, to tell the truth I do not find the infotainment system all that user friendly and as such, about the only part I use is the radio, not the Sirius radio. Lexus demands some big money to keep updates fresh, so they can keep it. I would rather use my Android phone. The market seems to favor SUVs. If youre in that market, be sure to test drive a new or used (pre owned) RX350. While youre at it check the resale prices on a ten year old model of your choice.

While in for getting the door fixed rust was noticed on both of the front door seams. We questioned it and had to get in contact with Lexus. My husband talked to Shawn directly at Lexus. They sent someone out to look at my car. Since my car has rust on the seams they will not cover it, as it is not rusted through. Lexus warranty says corrosion or perforation for 6 years unlimited miles. Since the door was already being painted it would not cost anymore to fix the seam under the door. Shawn told my husband nothing he could do about it and no one else he could speak to. I dont know about you but who wants to spend $40,000 on car that is only 4 years old and its rusted. I guess I thought buying a Lexus was not buying a Ford Focus, even though I owned a Ford Focus 10 years ago and it never rusted. Customer service not good, neither is warranty.

Well thats what the charge is for - removal ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!Wrote to the higher ups - called the people who I leased the vehicle from and no one cared and no one returned phone calls. Then had the balls to send to a collection agency. Protection plan $2,000 - one month early - under mileage that I paid for upfront! Perfect condition. So you know what screw you Lexus. The leather interior, heated seats, and built in GPS makes ride very comfortable. It also offers plenty of space for passengers to enjoy their ride. There is enough space for 5 to have plenty of room, including plenty of leg space for backseat passengers as well, which makes the LX perfect for long distance trips.

December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.

Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work. I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said its not a Lexus defect because on one side it is perfect circle. I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.

We did and he told us they had the Lexus coming in all the time with mice. He said there was no way to keep them out, they were coming in from the bottom. We carried it to a friends tire service and put it up on the rack. There was no place for them to get in under there. With further searching, we found that the rats were building a nest in the fresh air filter. This past week, more droppings, set traps again, caught 2 more mice. We have had 4 Ford Explorers, 3 Chevrolet SUV, numerous other vehicles, trucks galore. We had 5 sons that had vehicles and none of the above or childrens had mice. That is a total of 6 mice caught in this car since May. This seems petty compared to what the previous comments were. It would really be terrible if the mice chewed the leather seats or some of the wiring. It would really be bad if one ran up our leg.

I just told him that my family had 4 Lexus automobiles and they would be our last. When you sell a car for $75,000, the interior should last more than 3 years. My previous car was a 2003 Cadillac, cost 1/2 as much and when I bought the Lexus the center console was in better shape after eight years of use than the Lexus is after 3 years. By the way, Ed from Lexus offered to pay for 1/2 the repair. As far as I am concerned the Lexus warranty is only a 1/2 warranty shown by this situation.

They actually do, I cannot even clean the interior because the board is jelly like, the seats covers are all broken after 2-3 years and the color will come off when you clean them, the wood design is flying up peeling as well everywhere, at 72 000 miles I had to replace the front direction and before, the steering wheel fell! And you would believe that for over $42000, you will buy a nice quality car! No, not anymore! I was back in forth with Lexus via emails, I went to the dealer to show what is happening to the car, they said that I have to pay if I don’t like the way it looks! I called to have at least the dash board replace since is melting, but two customer service from Lexus Corporate said that the offer expired on March 31 this year and they won’t extend it, although they never told me about it when I went to the dealer or on our exchanged emails! Think twice if you planning to get a Lexus at this time: it is not the same quality or customer service as they started! A shame!

I went to get it inspected yesterday and was told that it failed inspection because I have to replace the PS rack and hose that are leaking - estimated at 1750 +350. So far this year I have paid almost $4,000 for repairs including new tires, new struts and tire alignment (twice - first time alignment did not work). When I looked this up and read some of the reviews, it appears I have company for this issue and others like the dashboard cracking, headlights, etc. I dont know what to do now - fix it and hope the problems stop or cut my losses and trade it in. In any case, I think that Lexus should pay attention to this and cover at least part of the cost as this is not due to wear and tear. I had a Mercedes with almost 350,000 miles on it and did not have all of these problems.

Dash pad, door panel and (air bag front passenger) must be replace. Since I bought my 2008 IS 250 I notice that the black door panel pad turning soft and sticky issue. The black part of the inner door panels acts like it is sweating something and gets hazy and wet looking. When my nail hits it, it leaves a deep mark. Unbelievably bad issue with an otherwise good car. I would appreciate any help or constructive comments how this can be replace. Lexus have a long waiting list. Last year around April I was #696 and a month ago I was #466. What I see is going to be a few years for this parts be replace it. Which made me think about not to buy another Lexus. Feel disappointed.

The dash started developing very fine hairline cracks about a year ago. Over the last month the cracks have gotten much worse. I have seen even picked up small foam pieces on the floor coming from the dash. It is a real shame since I otherwise like this car. I have informed LEXUS Customer Service via e-mail with pictures about this quality problem and they asked me to take the car to a dealer for evaluation. The dealers replacement estimate was $2519.00. I informed customer Service about the cost and was told that the car was out of warranty... They did not have to offer anything to get it fixed but will give me 25% off the repair. This would still cost me $1889.25, totally unacceptable. I have owned many cars brands in the past and none of them ever had a quality issue like this. When buying a very expensive car anyone expects top quality. I do not understand is why there is such a big cost difference between various dealers for the same repair (based on other posts). Recent history shows that Toyota is reluctant to stand behind their products and if there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know how to join. Unless Toyota comes forward with a better offer this will be the last car I have bought from them.

I had been going through many changes at that time, and did not bring it to the dealership when it first started occurring. Now, I have moved and the razor-like slashes have turned into the dash literally crumbling off!!!!! I brought my car to the dealership in Metairie, Louisiana and was told there that this was not considered a defect and it would cost me $2000 to repair. I called Lexus Corporate and spoke to a man named Ed on extension ** and he basically told me the same thing. Out of warranty, car too old, not a defect, sorry cant help you. I am so upset about this because I have always bragged about the fact that Lexus was the best car I have ever owned. I know people who have cars older than mine and dont have this problem. Has this happened to anyone out there? Were you able to get it fixed by Lexus? Help!!

The car was a certified used car so I thought maybe there were lingering scent from the previous owner, so I gave the interior of the car a thorough cleaning, but I couldnt get rid of the scent. I used all different types of air freshener but the fumes scent kept coming back, especially when I was driving on the highway. What really scared me was when I was transporting my daughter and she stated that, Mom the smell inside your car makes me feel nauseated. I called the car dealership Lexus of Palm Beach immediately, I stated the problem and was told to bring the car in.To my surprise Lexus has been aware of the problem since 2006. I was given a HVAC odor maintenance bulletin dated February 6th 2020, which stated that some 2006 to 2020 model year Lexus vehicles may exhibit odors that naturally occur from the HVAC system and/or related environmental factors. Although there is no way to eliminate these orders, follow the general procedure in this bulletin to minimize the order experience. I was told to purchase a charcoal AC filter with an AC refresher for $265 plus tax that may or may not minimize the order experienced.The most shameful part of this experience with Lexus was that they were trying to convince me that other motor vehicle manufacturers had the same problem, The problem I see here is Lexus chose not to fix this problem. They have been aware of this problem since 2006 and they continue to manufacture vehicles with the same odor problem as of 2020. I have driven other cars that were not fume coffins, like this ES 350. Other automotive vehicle manufacturers choose to fix this problem. I bought this car because it was a Lexus and the name Lexus was associated with prestige and luxury. I now have a car, I still owe thousands of dollars that I cannot transport my children in. I have to drive the car because its my only means of transportation but I feel unsafe in it every day I drive it.I am so tired of corporations and people who work for these corporations that dont care about their customers and their safety. I bought a Lexus, I expected the best in luxury, before buying this car I drove a Kia. It did not have an odor issue so Kia found a way to fix the problem, why Lexus refuses to fix this fume odor issues. Shame on you Lexus Manufacturer.

He was totally accommodating to my weekend requests for appointments and was a man who listened and remembered my requests. He could do a dissertation on Lexus history which I found fascinating plus there is no match for his wonderful sense of humor. In addition, it’s not over with the signing of the contract. Charlie has said that I can call him anytime I have a question about the car! This has been validated and is such a great pleasure to have this option. I noticed a bubble in my tire and realized my tire was never replaced! I called the dealership and left a message in the voicemail of the service advisor that wrote up the invoice as his name is on the invoice. Since its Sunday, I dont expect to hear anything from Lexus until tomorrow (Monday). At which point I hope they will do the right thing and replace the tire that I paid to have replaced, that was obviously not replaced!

Probably this was my worst decision to buy a pre-owned 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD back in 2016. I was certainly duped by looking at those J.D. Power ratings of dependability and reliability. Bought a pre-owned Lexus dealer certified 2014 IS 250 AWD and vehicle is in a very good in condition until a couple of days ago where AC was blowing hot air when I was doing a long trip with my family along with my newborn four and a half month old. The AC was working fine till we reach the destination and on our way back is where the AC did not work and we had to drive back home 140 miles under 95 degrees hot day with a four and a half month baby. I had shared my experience with my colleagues and they say I shouldve bought an extended warranty. Damn! Why in the world should I buy an extended warranty when I am paying so much for a car which is branded as reliable and dependable? This is nuts. So, I took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer (obvious that the Lexus dealer is going to rip me off with their charges and that is totally fine because its LEXUS) and it costs me $700 to fix a sensor and redo the whole AC to be up and working. Very dissatisfied with Lexus and did not expected this kind of issue when the vehicle is still under 100,000 miles. Definitely, moving to a different brand in a very short time.

Given the need and or opportunity we would return to the same place in the future and see about buying an auto from the same place once again. We were also quite happy with the upgrade and personalized options that were offered. We like to get the maximum upgrades that are available because we like our car to reflect our personality and shed a light on our unique and affluent lifestyle. Also, we are happy with the passenger capacity. We are a family of four and it accommodates us very nicely. There is also adequate room to accommodate two other passengers, although, we rarely need the additional space.

Their answers: your car has been left out in the sun too often for too long. Well, I would imagine that most people who own Lexus typically keep them garaged. So, why is it that other brand cars (years old, and left out in the sun) do not crack?? The other issue on some of the newer and more expensive models is that the panels (which are made of a synthetic, plastic-like material) get very sticky to the touch. Lexus answer: they were not made for our hot and humid weather that we have here in the South. Youd think they dont have engineers that test their products?? Or, do they just sell their product in cooler climates?

They are very sleek and stylish, very high quality looks and designs. You definitely can tell what the quality is like by looking at it. I just have the base model and its very well equipped with CD, air conditioning and great sound quality from the speakers. You can also very easily fit 4 passengers in it, one in the front and three in the back, its surprisingly roomy in the back. The passengers can be seated comfortably.

In January of 2011, I purchased a 2007 LS460L. The quality of the ride is what swayed me from purchasing a Mercedes. The vehicle had 40k miles on it and had 4 months left on time of warranty. I purchased the extended warranty and left a happy Lexus owner! Fast forward to Sept 2011, I noticed a thumping noise from the rear of vehicle. While having new brakes installed, I asked my local Goodyear tech to check out the noise. They checked and informed me that it was a common problem on virtually all LS models with air suspension. By coincidence, the techs father was a tech at local Lexus dealership. They informed me that instead of paying them, I should take it to Lexus as they knew of the issues and would fix under warranty. I did, only to be informed that my factory warranty had expired due to time (by 120days), and that the only exclusion in my extended warranty was, you guessed it, shocks! The problem I was told was the right rear air cylinder. It cost $1700 to repair. Lexus, being the quality company that they are, offered to cover the labor if I would pay the cost of the part. The cost of the part is $500. I agreed, scheduled the repair etc. When I picked the car up (and wrote the $500 check), our child noticed that nothing in the back seat area functioned - seat controls, shade control and safety belts! I called the dealer (cell phones) and asked if they possibly had to remove the rear seat to replace the air cylinder. Yes was the answer, so I explained the issue. I took vehicle back. Fifteen minutes later, they explained that the tech forgot to plug back in the wire harness. I left again with my Lexus riding like I expected a Lexus to ride, happy Lexus owner.I wish the story ended there, but nope. Twenty-eight days later, I began hearing the thumping noise again. This time it was with the left rear. I called my Lexus service rep and informed him of the exact same issue again, 30 days later. I explained that I had been on Lexus owner forums since last issues and knew that this was an issue on virtually all LS models. I did not expect to again pay $500 to repair a defect in the vehicle, that I wanted it fixed at no cost. He advised me that I needed to call the Lexus 25 line. I did. I explained it all to the call center answer person. She asked me what I was wanting them to do. I explained that not only did I want them to repair, but I wanted my $500 back from the previous repair. She explained that I would need to schedule to take my vehicle back to dealer and have them diagnose. I did. The funny thing is that this time, I noticed on sheet it said the it was worn strut mount. I called Lexus 25 line again and asked what the repair was labeled last time. They replaced the shock mount assembly. I wonder why they told me it was an air cylinder. They informed me that they would again extend me the offer of me paying $500 to fix their defect. I declined and have asked to speak with a dist. rep. She informed me that they are on the road all the time and may have a hard time contacting me. I politely explained that today, with email and cell phones, I expected a prompt return call. Ill let you know when I hear from him or her! By the way, Facebook, a social media, is a beautiful marketing tool. Lexus uses it! The downside is that I do too! I went to their Lexus Cars page and posted my complaint right there in the middle of all their wonderful posts about their wonderful cars. I encourage everybody to do the same. Social media is not just to sell products. Its to inform people!

Just another testament to why I will never buy a Lexus again. It all started from the salesperson telling us that we had 2 free oil changes that come to find out is not true. Then after bringing my car home, noticing it has a very small chip on the gas cap & the salesperson telling us Oh well, you took it home, nothing we can do. Each time Ive taken my car in for service it has not gone smoothly. The 2nd time taking it in they rotated my tires & since then my car has not driven the same. Took it in for the 3rd time and when I bring this up, the service writer proceeds to tell me that they could balance them for $90 & had I brought it in immediately after that they would have fixed it. Im trading in my car and will never recommend Lexus to anyone!
