New Acura Precision Concept Will Preview An Electric Future
Posted On: August 11, 2022
The Acura Integra may be a little disappointing in some ways, but the Honda-owned luxury brand has plenty of other exciting tricks up its sleeve. It recently unveiled a special edition inspired by the NSX and is getting ready to take endurance racing by storm with its Le Mans hypercar. As you may know, endurance racing is pivoting toward electrification, so what better time to show off a new EV?rnTake a look at Acura's first foray into the world of pure electric vehicles, pictured below. Sadly, this is just a teaser, so we can't see too much, but there is still plenty we can glean from the image and the name: Acura Precision EV Concept. If the Precision name sounds familiar to you, that's because it should. Back in 2016, Acura revealed the first Precision Concept and described it as a design study model that would shape the design of all future Acura products. And Acura wasn't kidding - the current TLX was directly inspired by the Precision concept of 2016, which leads us to the purpose of 2022's Precision. Once again, the concept will be used to showcase Acura's design direction going forward, only now there will be a clear focus on electrification: "Acura Precision EV Concept will preview performance brand's future design language for electrified era," reads the heading on the press release. So when can we see it, and what can we expect? Well, the teaser image shows a vehicle with plenty of concept car design flourishes, including an illuminated front "grille" with an illuminated logo. The headlights appear to resemble those already at work on Acura's SUVs, and speaking of SUVs, we can see a substantial gap between the beefy wheel arch and the tire, indicating a raised ride height. That's right, another electric SUV. Let's just hope it looks as gorgeous as the 2016 concept. Whatever Acura's plans for the Precision EV Concept (beyond showing its design direction for EVs), we'll get the full story very soon - the concept will be revealed in full on August 18 at Monterey Car Week.

Love my Acura RDX. Acura has great customer service and I have not had any issues with it since I bought it. Its reliable and stylish with features I love. I will definitely be buying another Acura when I decide to buy another vehicle. I love the backup camera. The technology package is amazing. I like having a built in gps. I like the driver one and driver two settings so the car is always set for my favorites when it recognizes my key. The gas mileage could be a little better though.

In two years we have never had an issue with the Acura. Other than a little road noise it has been very dependable with more than adequate power and performance. This is a 2017 model AWD with the 6 cyl engine.

Seems that I have purchased a vehicle with a bad history of torque converters and I am now one of those victims. Dissatisfied that I did not do homework on this brand and model. Me bad. Just have to say that when after a year not one service place knew what I was talking about, I should have gotten online. Went to an Acura dealer and got a clean bill of health one month. The under body vibrates and grinds a noise at certain speeds which has not been consistent, now the engine does not want to go as if transmission is not getting power and that is not consistent yet. Here I bragged about this car and seems that Acura needs to make a count on how many MDXes have this problem. Husband bought this for me and I wanted to get my own in the summer, now I will find the heated seats in another brand!

I bought a 2016 MDX at Apr 2015. The car has usual new car smell. At the beginning, I thought I will disappear soon. I am wrong. I cant stay in the car without the window open for about two years. But unfortunately after two years, the smell of new car just reduced a little bit and the leather seat still gives off strong chemical odor. I can confirm because if I smell closely to the leather its just too strong. I have owned multiple cars with leather seats before. This is the first time I hit the issue. Its not typical genuine leather smell. Its unpleasant chemical smell.

I had the four door base model with few features other than the standard package but it felt luxurious to me. The stereo system sounded great. The car felt well put together by the manufacturer. The heating unit was quick to respond after startup. I had the black and when it was polished up would look great at night against the street lights. The all wheel drive made it great for cruising around. I really liked the radio interface. The backseat was also very roomy. I once had three friends in the back for a four hour trip and they were able to survive. There was enough room to make it comfortable.

Acura RDX has been a very dependable vehicle until recently. We started having a water leak come from behind the windshield. It took a week for the Acura dealer to figure out where the leak was coming from. Also, when I drive over any bumps, it has always made a rattling noise and its annoying! I wish that I purchased a Toyota RAV4 instead. Even so, I like the way the vehicle handles on the road and the comfort of the seats. It also has plenty of storage. I felt this vehicle was a good value as well.

This is my first time owning an Acura. My experience with it is a positive one. I love the all the features of the Acura, I enjoy driving my newly purchased vehicle. This vehicle is a luxury suv. It has navigation, XM radio activation, a sunroof, an awesome back up camera, and other amazing features that cater to the drivers need. But I would love for my suv to have a hatch that is motion sensored on the bottom of the car though, so that I can open to back hands free.

I was driving on the freeway at about 60 MPH, keeping up with morning traffic on US101N, when my ACURA MDX 2011 suddenly stalled. I was pressing my foot on the accelerator but it would not go faster; in fact, it started slowing down. I was able to coast off to an exit, luckily, and then the car completely stalled, and would not start back up again. The dealership, Acura of Marin happened to be right there, and I had bought the car from them, Certified used, just 5 months prior. Although the service department was really great, and my car was under warranty, I sold the car back to them at a loss. Turned out it was a faulty/defective fuel pump. They called it bad; I call it defective. I was lucky that neither my children and I who were in the car, nor anyone else got hurt at the time of incident. No warning lights ever came on. Would not buy another Acura again.

Luxury car is what they call it, more like CRAPPY car! I have a 2013 RDX. Few weeks after purchasing it, it started to have break noises. 3 years later, its still an ongoing thing. They cannot find a solution to it. When I simply asked the service team what they can do to stop it, they simply said its not going to stop. I have been in and out for the same problem that never goes away! Its very frustrating and scary to think that it could be a safety concern! Client relations is also one sided! They dont listen to you because to them, its the service team thats right. Screw this company! Never gonna buy a luxury car again! You do not get your moneys worth and no peace of mind driving it!

Acura has a few varieties but I only like a couple. I like the EX and LX models. I also like the 95 body style but it is very hard to find. It is my dream style of car. The features are good. The Sirius radio is a plus. Also the ability to see while backing up comes in handy on long nights. I love the interior because it is easy to keep clean and keep up the blue tooth connect is also a plus. The upgrades are cool. The capacity is well suited for the family of 4 that I have. The trunk space is actually bigger than it looks from the outside. It is very convenient on long trips to Texas and other places.

I purchased a 2008 Acura TL new. The car was well maintained and garage stored. Within several years the perforated leather seats began to split. I had to have them replaced. The car was in great condition otherwise so I spent the money to replace them. A couple years later I noticed a crack on the right side of the dash. The crack grew and has expanded to multiple cracks. I have never experienced this with a car and would certainly not expect it from a brand known for quality and luxury yet when I did an internet search I discovered that it is a common problem with the Acura. Buyer beware.

I have a 2018 Acura RDX and its gas range display sucks. On an instance, I start from my office and it shows, I have gas range of 100 miles and after driving for less than 2 miles it shows gas left for 70 miles left. How come in driving for 2 miles I consumed gas worth of 30 miles? After driving on highway for few miles it moves up to 80 miles. How come after driving extra 5 miles I added more gas in my car? I understand it varies based on driving but how would I actually know how much gas I have in my car. It is extremely confusing and I think erroneous. Not sure how such system is considered as a better user experience by the Acura engineers. I think Acura should do a recall and fix this system for all Acura RDX owners.

I’ve purchased a used 2005 Acura TL with 69K miles on it. At 96K miles the transmission blew out, it was a $4000 bill to rebuild the transmission. My AC compressor had to be changed. The tension pulley had to be changed. The battery dies if the car is not turned on daily or in cold winter months (I live in Houston, we don’t have severe weather). It has a new battery and the alternator is just fine, we never could establish what the battery issues were. The car will lock you out since it automatically locks, the mirrors shift while driving. The dashboard has cracks. I happily sold the car to a junkyard for $500, I just couldn’t wait to get rid of it. I maintain my cars regularly and only put less than 20 miles a day on it. I didn’t expect all these issues with less than 100k miles on it. Never getting an Acura again.

Experienced total steering failure. Extremely dangerous, apparently a more wide scale problem and they don’t seem to care people could die. Upwards of $3500 to get it fixed! This is on a 4 year old upscale vehicle (Acura TL). This dealer (Hertrich Acura) especially does not care after purchasing 6 cars among me and family. Car was impeccably maintained but if you don’t service the vehicle at their overpriced garage you can forget it. It does have a 109k miles on it but that’s a break in period for other upscale brands! Stay away!

The car is beautiful and that is my biggest attraction to it. I have the one with everything on it so its very comfortable. My only issues are 1.) Its a little bit rough to drive, you feel every little bump on the road. 2.) Acura doesnt do anything special for the owners, prior to this I had 2 Lexus and when you go to the dealership to get your car serviced you are treated like VIP. You can wait for the car in a lounge where you can have in the morning free bagels, toast or danishes along with regular or specialty coffee, if its lunch time free water, juice or soda. They have nice comfortable leather chairs, desktop computers, iPads and large screen TVs. In addition to this if its going to be longer than a couple of hours they just give you a beautiful loaner. Anything you want so you can try out all their different models.

2007 mdx - I have 2 acuras and love both but will never buy another. Transmission error light came on at 90500 miles. So i brought it to Oxmore Acura in Louisville. They did a test and showed me a report that the PCM failed and stated it had to be replaced because the car could stop running. I paid the $900 and they replaced it. After it is replaced they tell me i need to replace the 3rd gear pressure switch. I said I thought the problem was the PCM since the reason I came in was I wanted the transmission issue corrected. Turns out the FAIL wasnt because of any transmission problem but a recommend change because the car was 7 years old. I feel like that was a fraud. Will never step in a Acura dealership again.

Having purchased 5 new Acura from Crest Acura in Syracuse NY I expected some consideration for being a very loyal sales and SERVICE customer. When considering purchase of a sixth Acura I encountered Jim **, a very disappointing encounter. Upon having my TL (purchased new at Crest and fully serviced at Crest) looked at for trade in, I was offered far less than book value. When I questioned this, I was told by Mr. ** that he couldnt pay more for my car than he could buy one for at an auction, no consideration for a one owner fully serviced Acura from his dealership. He then challenged me to visit a competing dealership to determine if I could get a better deal. I did and I did. Upon learning that I had traded elsewhere Mr. ** spent 5 minutes running my new vehicle into the ground and telling me how unhappy I will be. What a very sad individual he is. He could have saved a very loyal customer if he had used appropriate business protocol. An example: Im sorry you arent happy Joe, what can I do to correct the problem? No he acted like a spoiled child who didnt get his way and totally ruined a good relationship.Ive been in business for 35 years and have handled a number of complaints. Ive found that attacking the complainer, defending your behavior does nothing for the business except lose a potential client, something Mr. ** easily accomplished via his negative behavior. He could have saved me had he been a professional rather than a spoiled child who doesnt belong where he is. You can be right but wrong and you can be wrong and be wrong. Whos the real loser here?

When I met my husband, he was driving an Acura TL. We used that car for a long time. It was gorgeous outside. The inside was spacious and comfortable and fit two childrens car seats comfortably. We decided we wanted more room in the trunk area because we have to take a lot of kid gear and suitcases when we travel. We got the Acura MDX. I drive it. Its an SUV, but its boxy squared off looking. Its more rounded and soft looking like a car. I have mine in a burgundy red. Inside is like a camel tan color leather seats. It has very tinted windows. The built in navigation is really nice. The navigation screen and radio screen is huge and very easy to operate. I like that I can control the radio with the buttons on the steering wheel. There is a third row that folds down. I keep it permanently folded down because we only have two kids. It is easy to fit in two car seats in the second row and would be easy to fit three. On the rare occasion that we do have the third row up it has sat three full sized adults in the third row comfortably. There is also a ton of room in the trunk. When I had to have my car serviced last month we got a loaner car. They gave us the Acura RDX. Its nice, but not quite as nice as the MDX and feels really cramped in comparison inside.

I am faithful Honda buyer. Currently, I own a 97 Prelude, 08 Accord V6, 08 Pilot and a 07 Acura MDX. Of all these cars, the MDX has been the worst in quality. First, there was the left suspension that rattles at 12k miles. My dealership (Continental Acura of Naperville) took countless of trips to diagnose the problem; they replaced the whole front left suspension, rear left suspension, re-did the brakes and after 6 visits, it was determined that the battery holder was cracked. Now, the car has 33k miles and the oil sensor switch has malfunctioned. In all my years of owning cars ranging from 0 miles to 200k miles, this has never happened. My car is past the warranty, so I am out of pocket $230. However, if you do a bit of research online, Acura has had this issue with 07-11 MDX, but did not issue a recall on the system. I own a 08 Honda Pilot and I have never had any issues. If you are considering buying an MDX, I employ you to take a look at their cheaper sister, Honda, who has better service and quality. And if luxury is what you really want, then go check out a Lexus. This is not a biased view, but rather a fact from US News and World Report, Motor Trend and Edmunds. I also talked to a US rep (1-800-382-2238, if anyone else needs it). There’s no help on the matter, just an apology for the poor product.

I bought this car new in 2005. Having owned 5 Hondas over the previous 25 years I was sure I was buying a quality vehicle. I could not have been more wrong. The car engine is sound and runs well. But, the car is falling apart around me! *. 2 years in the silver metal covering on the driver door handle began to bubble.*. 2 years in the black trim that surrounds the outside windows began to peel. I took a hairdryer to it and peeled it all off revealing a nice shiny silver edge. So those were easily fixed by me and everything was well. Then year 5 happened and it has been all downhill since. *. Leather seats began to crack and tear. *. Seat warmer on drivers side no longer works. *. Navigation system went down. *. Battery consistently dies if not driven for 2 or more days. Batteries have been checked and rechecked by 3 different companies. *. Dash computer is dead. I cannot set the clock. Every time the battery dies the clock resets to a different time. Bluetooth gone. *. And then we are driving down the road and Im in the passenger seat and I see something move on the dash. I look closer... ITS CRACKING!!! It split from the window all the way down to just above the glove box in about 30 minutes. It has since split on the drivers side.*. Poor quality paint. We are two women in our 50s. We have had this car detailed every year since we bought it. It does not sit out in the sun very often. We own a 1998 Subaru Forrester with leather seats that it showing very little wear and tear and has 80,000 more miles then the Acura. Both cars have been well maintained and cared for. The Acura cost $20,000 more than the Subaru. Our nephew still drives our 86 Honda Accord, it has had an engine and transmission replaced and has over 300,000 miles on it. The interior looks better than the Acura. We thought we were buying a luxury sedan. I am embarrassed by this car and very disappointed in its quality. Too bad because we were loyal Honda owners for many years, NO MORE! Im buying a Subaru Outback next time.

I can only use voice call to call 15 stored speed dial numbers instead of being able to say call whomever. Whats the purpose of hands free when this car doesnt offer that. Also the name doesnt appear when a call comes through. Even though the contacts are downloaded into the system. I had all of these options in my Elantra before trading it in on what I thought would be better for me. A mistake I made because clearly more money doesnt mean better. Could this please be fixed?? Im so upset about my purchase and wish I could trade a brand new ILX back in for an Elantra that offers better quality. The phone system needs to be fixed in the ILX. I wouldnt recommend this car to anyone. Thank you for your time. Ive actually reached out to the CEO and he forwarded me to a representative whom was NO HELP. I actually asked them if they could upgrade this data system in the car or buy back their overly priced basic car... Im still stuck with this Car for 3 years.

The power in the 2020 MDX Hybrid Advance is amazing, especially the torque at a start or moving onto a freeway. The Comfort Mode makes the ride smooth, but putting it into Sport mode and this car can move! The Expresso interior is beautiful and the interior is quiet. In fact, trying out other luxury SUVs, this MDX Hybrid is the most quiet. Great gas mileage. Only $1600 more for the Hybrid over the regular MDX Advance. Would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this car.

One of the best cars around. Acura offers one the most comfortable, spacious, and trendy car Ive seen on the market. Its models remind me of body builders, strong and muscular. Buff appearance and very durable. It appeals to both genders with its sporty models. The mid size sedans can be compared to many luxury cars by being both spacious and appealing to the eye. An Acura can fit an average size family comfortably. I personally have driven the car holding 5 passengers with no problem or space issues. There are many options for upgrading and giving your Acura a personal touch. LED lights are my personal favorite. You can also add things like all weather floor mats and automatic car start for reasonable prices.

I purchased a new 2020 Acura RLX hybrid with all of the bells and whistles. While under 30,000 miles the vehicle has had major issues with the infotainment system, the fuel pump, transmission, and battery. All have required replacements and extensive (months) time at the dealership. On August 13, 2021, while at a hospital in another state, for my mothers surgery, the vehicle failed to start inside a parking garage. Acuras roadside assistance was contacted and they informed me that they were unable to tow the vehicle from a parking garage and I had to find my own towing company. I arranged the vehicle towing, at my expense and had to get a rental car to get home and back. According to Acuras warranty, all of these expenses are reimbursable.I picked up the car a week later from the dealership just to find that my back seat was missing (the hybrid battery had to be removed to replace the fuel pump). Once I got the seat installed, I went home and filed a claim with roadside assistance. That claim has not been paid or even decided after 7 months. According to Acuras policy, this was supposed to take place within 30 days. I later the transmission failed to work, and I had to have the car towed to the original dealership. I filed a Lemon Law claim as advised by the Acura dealership due to all of the issues with this vehicle through Acura customer service. The claim was opened in September of 2021. The process as listed on the Acura website is a 4-6 week process to obtain a decision. It is now February of 2022 and no action has taken place. When I call customer service I am informed that it is with a new case manager and the process has to start over. In other words, the first lazy case manager did nothing and they hand it off to the next case manager to start the process over. This is my 3rd Honda vehicle to include a 2019 Acura TLX that is 1 year older than my 2020 RLX. I have always had great experiences with Honda until now. What they have become is a company that no longer values dependable vehicles or great customer service. Even if you are paying over $65,000 for a vehicle.

Not many different models, but there are great colors and have different engine sizes. The car itself was great looking and I loved the easy going body. It didnt look like some weird spaceship like other cars look. The car had a nice sleek looking dash and is easy to clean too. My immediate space, and front seat passenger space was nice and did not feel confined. However the backseat was small and not very comfortable. Also, whenever I had issues with my car, the parts were very expensive and that was the downside for myself.

There were lots of cars to choose from. Most of the cars were Acura or Toyota and not much else. Would have liked other choices. Maybe a Ford or a Chevy if that one didnt worked out. Acura looks really cool and girls like it a lot. They want to make sure you buy a car that makes you look Iike a big shot and not a total jerk. You cant get red because that is a stupid color for a car. Acura was really basic and didnt have any features to speak about. That kind of drove me nuts because I had no idea what the rest of the car was a crappy hatchback. But there was plenty of room for my stuff and for kid and wife. The only reason that I carry stuff is because of the kid and the reason that it means so much is that.

I took my car in because of a noise I heard in the right wheel well. It seemed like brakes to me. Marin Acura told me it wasnt the brakes; my brakes were fine. The front read 4 and the back 5. I asked if we should replace the front and they said No. I said, I dont want to have to come back in a few thousand miles to replace the front brakes. And they said, Dont worry, you have a lot more than a few thousand miles to go on them. It turns out the front brakes needed replacement immediately. Their diagnosis was completely incorrect. When the brakes were measured again, the front were at 0 and the back were at 6. In other words, the front were completely worn out, and the back had more left than Marin Acura had diagnosed. Dont take your car to Marin Acura for brakes, or for anything else, for that matter.

It should of been after the 120 point check they must of not done. 3 months later headlight had tons of water in it. After complaining to Acura relations was told they would help out of good will but after I was ready to replace the headlight was told they wont because you bought the headlight light from a 3rd party but it was oem. I purchased a new 2014 Acura RDX with all-wheel drive and technology package from Apple Tree Acura in July 2013. The dashboard has slowly warped where it meets the windshield and has a dip or sag about 6 inches long and inch deep. The Apple Tree service manager as well as the factory representative determined that the problem is a characteristic of the RDX, that there is no fix and they will not attempt to repair or replace under warranty. They have admitted that my dashboard is the worst they have seen, but all RDXs have this characteristic to some degree. I believe this is a flaw and it should be repaired under factory warranty. A $40,000 vehicle should not have a sagging dashboard as a normal characteristic. It certainly was not sagging when I purchased the car. When Apple Tree Acura sold me the RDX, they promised me a comprehensive warranty and exemplary customer service for 4 years or 50,000 miles. They now point to the factory representative’s decision as final and refuse to honor their commitment to me. I strongly urge buyers not purchase any vehicle from this dealership! They have absolutely zero integrity.

2012 Acura TSX Power Steering System - On Thursday, I was driving back to work from my lunch break when suddenly as I was coming around a turn my steering wheel locked up and I immediately went into panic mode and could barely drive my car. I immediately tried to pull over and the Check Power Steering system light came on. I turned my car off and then back on and drove 500 feet back to work since the light went off. After work, I drove to the gym about 5 miles away and as I was driving again, it locked again. I brought it over to the Meineke next to the gym and had him keep it overnight to look at it in the morning. After he inspected it the next day and drove it, he said there was nothing wrong wear and tear wise on the car that he could see and to bring it to Acura. I brought it over the Acura in East Brunswick and told them my safety concern and did not want to drive this vehicle that clearly has something wrong with it that is out of my control. 3 hours later, I get a call saying that my power system steering wire went and I need a whole new system for around 1200. My car is 4 years old with 60,000 miles on it. After speaking with him and getting a price he told me that they would give me a rental car for free and that at any second the power steering system could go while I was driving. This is obviously a huge safety concern, there was no warning whatsoever and I was driving while my steering wheel locked up on me in a very busy area. I talked to numerous mechanics that said that that should not be happening whatsoever to a newer car with that amount of miles on it and it must be some type of defect. I decided to file a case with Acura because I do not feel like I am liable for this defect in their car. BTW I am still leasing and my warranty was up at 50,000 miles. When I went to Acura later that day to pick up my things and receive my rental car, they refused to give me one. I asked to speak with the manager and he said he needed to confirm with corporate Acura who I filed a case with to see if they will give me a rental. Well the next day they called and said that Acura said I did not deserve a rental car since I do not get my service done there. So I called corporate Acura and they were closed and called back the dealership and asked who they spoke to and the rep said that the manager had a personal number. I have not been to work in three days, was told I would know something yesterday, but the manager was off yesterday and now I am told tomorrow a case manager will come look at my car. This is unbelievable. I am refused a rental car after paying my monthly payment for this car for the past 4 years, I was driving an UNSAFE car that has some type of defect, and I am getting false information from the dealership and treated poorly and when I went to the dealership yesterday to get my EZ pass out of the car, it was unlocked and no one even looked twice at me that I could have been just going into to some random persons car. I am looking into an attorney if they do not cover this in full.

The Acura CL is the most reliable car I have ever owned. The only thing that goes wrong is the normal wearing of parts. Its a 1997 car and was totaled once, but I had it towed so a new transmission could be installed and it runs perfectly. For a 1997 vehicle it has automatic door locks so I can lock and unlock the doors from a distance. It also enables you to open your trunk as you approach the car, especially helpful when your arms are full of items. It has a sunroof which is always nice to have. The things that would improve the car are things available in todays cars, like a Bluetooth connection for your cell phone or a GPS that will give you directions. Heated seats would be nice and better speakers for the radio and CD player.

Apparently someone tried to steal my 2014 Acura MDX and thus it was immobilized by the anti-theft. They stole my sunglasses and apparently tried to use a crowbar to get in the window DENTING the window frame even though the car was unlocked! Therefore, I could not start my car as it was immobilized and was told to get the other key fob that was 30 minutes away at home. I could only get to that the later in the evening after the Acura service dept was closed. So the next day, today, beginning at 8 am, after TENS of calls with Acura Roadside Assistance and then with several non-English speaking tow truck drivers, the first tow truck could not get the car into neutral so they left. Hours pass, the second truck was not the right kind to pick it up after specific instructions were relayed that it had to be the special tow truck. Hours pass, the third truck had a flat tire so ultimately could not make it but failed to call. Hours pass and the fourth tow truck arrived 3 hours later than expected and then delivered the car to the WRONG DEALERSHIP ACROSS TOWN. I was then told that the car is nowhere to be found by that dealership and that the driver had driven away with it on his truck!!! Two hours later I was told it was found and being delivered to the right Acura service. Then I was told the car was LOST and could not be located at the new dealership! One hour later, after I called the last of five tow truck drivers and the dealership and connected the dots for them, the car was found again. Moral of the story, beware of Acura Roadside Assistance promises and next time plan to spend TWELVE HOURS OF YOUR OWN TIME TO RECEIVE ACURA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.

When I asked, they said this commonly happens many times and my service manager will have to see and approve for the replacement. After 2 days, the service manager said that it happened before leaving the car for service. The guys said they did not notice it when leaving the car and noticed it after the car wash. This service manager is very rude - I cant replace it; it’s all your fault, he was asking me to claim insurance for this and saying thats what insurance is there for. When I said I will complain to the Acura Company, he said, Nothing is going to happen, do whatever you want. I have several complaints about Acura and to be more specific, both Acura of Bay Shore and Acura Company. I leased a RDX in 2015. They deceived me in every possible way. Before I went to Acura I had a lease through Nissan and I had 5 months left on that lease. Allison, the sales rep, repeatedly told me that they would pay the 5 months I had on my previous lease as part of the deal. Needless to say, they added the amount of those 5 months to the new lease. The day I sign the contract I was in a hurry and I did not want to go through the whole process and I took responsibility and I am paying for what they told me they would do.One of the selling points was, or is, that Every time you bring your vehicle for service we will wash it for you. Well give you a free car wash every time. When I brought the truck for the first service, I dropped it in the morning around 8am. I did not hear from them until I called around 3:00pm. They said it would be ready in 45 min. When I received the truck it had noticeably some drops of water and all the dirt that it came with when I drop it. So I called the service person. When I showed to him the quality of the job done, he offered to take it back to wash it. Once again, they did not deliver on their promise and deceive me again. And the most recent complaint, which is no fault of Acura of Bay Shore but Acura as a Company, is that due to the recall on the Takata airbag used on my Acura RDX, I have been trying to reach Acura to work with me. My RDX has been parked for a month now and will be until the dealership receives the parts to replace which could be 3 month or a year, according to service manager. In the meantime, they provided me with a rental, a Kia Sedona. I have tried to get a different car, something comparable to what I am paying for. It hurts to pay $475.00 a month and drive a $200.00 dollar a month truck. After one month the car rental place contracted by Acura claims that, they dont have any SUVs available. I have called the Acura Relations Department to negotiate my monthly payments, to lower or stop for the time I am not using the car. They told me they cannot do anything for me and I am to fulfill the contract by paying my monthly lease of $475.00 for something I cant use. I have not been late with any payments since I entered into this contract with Acura. I have fulfill my obligation but ACURA HAS FAIL TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SAFE CAR. I dont expect to resolve this issues in my favor at this point. I just hope that whoever is reading this THINKS TWICE before dealing with Acura Company.

As an owner of an Acura MDX I must express my sincere disappointment with the companys customer service (or lack thereof). The dealer from whom I bought my car lost its contract with Acura. (This can happen.) Acura has never contacted me to advise as to where I should take the vehicle for warranty work. The nearest Acura dealer is a 2 hour (one way) drive for me, but an certified Honda dealer is only 10 minutes away.Acura now sends me a recall notice informing me a bolt needs to be replaced. The Honda dealer tells me they can do the work, but it will be covered by Acura only with prior authorization. Acura denies authorization and will require me to undertake a 4 hour trip to effect this recall. Oh and it took Acura 4 weeks and multiple calls on my part to decide my request to deal with the Honda dealer would be denied. Never once did Acura return my call. Oh. Acura did send me a letter to wish me a Happy Anniversary in recognition of my Acura Ownership. Based upon their lack of caring, and lack of responsiveness, I would never purchase another Acura!

I have been battling with Acura Customer Service for 2 months over a common problem Acura is ignoring: Bluetooth systems draining the car battery. I spent over two years having my battery regularly recharged or replaced, with the Acura dealer unable to diagnose the problem. I could not let my car sit more than one day without starting or the battery would be dead. I took it in several times and once paid to have a relay switch replaced, which did not solve the problem.I had lost use of my Bluetooth, but never connected the two, even though every time the battery was recharged the Bluetooth would miraculously work again for about 30 minutes... When I finally Googled 2007 Acura electrical problem I discovered lots of people have had this problem. Some had replaced their Bluetooth system and the problem recurred.Based on what I learned, had my Bluetooth disconnected. I contacted Acura Customer Service to complain about having to pay $100 to disconnect a system that has not worked for two years. Long story short, and after providing full documentation of my last two years of dealer, mechanic and AAA auto service, I was told that because Acura did not diagnose the Bluetooth system as the problem they could not help me. Ironic, eh? This problem has been occurring for years and by not diagnosing it they were not responsible for it. I must add I found Michael, the Customer Service person I spoke with, to be condescending and disrespectful (phone number 800-382-2238, extension **). Needless to say, my next car will not be an Acura.

It sounds like most of these people are just ignorant, and like to cry about something they were too cheap to buy. You people bought a luxury vehicle. Buy the protection plan. It isnt that expensive. If you bought the vehicle, buy the protection for it. You obviously have the money. I just got my first Acura, and I feel you are just trying to scare potential buyers, because you had problems. I love my car. It is the best car I have ever owned. Its comfortable, stylish, has plenty of space, a V-tech engine, heated seats, GPS navigation, all leather interior, power everything, moon roof, and it handles like a dream. On top of all of that, I have their cheapest vehicle, an ILX. I have only had it for two weeks, so my opinion might change, but as of right now, you people sound like spoiled adults who have always got what they desired. Why did you buy it? I tell you why. You heard they make luxurious vehicles that run forever. Why have you heard that? Because they are made by the same people who make Honda, and everyone knows Honda makes great cars. If you want to whine, buy something else. You wont hurt their business. Buy a cheaply made Mitsubishi or Hyundai. Quit trying to ruin peoples driving experience, because yours was.

I purchased Acura Care for my Acura MDX. The engine failed and it took 76 days to replace. Acura Care attempted to put a 60,000 mile engine back in my vehicle but I prevented it. They finally had the Walser Acura dealership install factory parts, but they delayed the process for two months. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service, care, and professionalism offered throughout this experience. IF I would have signed a forever discharge release, they would have made my car payment while it was in the shop. Since I would not sign, they withdrew their goodwill gesture. Acura, American Honda, Acura Care and the Walser Acura dealership left me very disappointed that a luxury automobile company would treat their customer in such a manner. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. I would not recommend purchasing Acura Care for your next purchase if you choose to take your chances with an Acura.

Many models to choose and I liked the way the car moved on the road because the way it drove was colorful and bright and lovely and swerve so really today I will drive to work forever. So many features of this car to deal with. It was so cool to put the windows down and ride around in the fancy car with the leather seats and carpeting to dress up the fur. Got to upgrade all elements with leather seats and heaters and sunroof and satellite radio and automatic windows and trunk space and tires. You can fit so many people in the car. It is almost like you are going to the zoo and take your whole family.

I loved the car and I was very happy with the interior. The stereo sounded great and the seats were comfortable. My two kids are comfortable enough in the backseat with all of their accessories. Three people could also sit back there. The trunk is roomy enough as well. However, anytime I go to buy a car from Acura the colors available are very limited. Im not patient so I drive away with a bland color. Every time I tell myself going in that in nor selling for less than I want but I always do. My car also came with the basics, but I could have paid extra to get a remote starter and an alarm system.

I purchased a new 2021 Acura TLX on Dec 6th, 2020. Around 7500 miles the car steering rack started to make a noise. I recorded the video and sent it to my local Acura dealership (Vandergriff Acura). They said other Acura had the same issues and I need to get the steering rack assembly changed. The part was back ordered and it couldnt be fixed right away. After 4-5 months of wait the part was back in stock and Vandergriff installed the whole new steering rack assembly. The car at that point only had 14,000 miles. I took the car back to Vandergriff 3 times because the car wasnt going straight. The first time it was pulling to the left and the next two times pulling to the right. Ithen took it to another dealer in my area, Goodson Acura. They performed an alignment for free and said the issue is fixed. I drove the car right after and again the issue was there. The car keeps going to the left. The sensors in the car has be reset and still the car doesnt go straight. I contacted Acura Client Relations and Sue from CA called me back. She called me 3 weeks ago. She mentioned she will call me back and let me know if I can bring the car into the dealership. Three weeks in and reaching out to her three times already, she hasnt called me back. I am getting frustrated I have a new car and it drives worst than my 2021Mazda 3. I will never buy a car from Acura again. I will stick with Audi and/or BMW. The contact number for the Acura Clients relationship person is 1-800-999-1009 ext **.

Our daughter has a disability but she works. She worked hard and saved her money to buy a car. She bought an Acura. Now the transmission is shot and the sad part is there is a recall for this issue but Acura will do nothing. They dont care. This is a longstanding problems with their transmission and they wont honor or support their own products. Its disgusting. This issue has been going on for years, what they do is have a car owner bring the car in to be check (you dont have any problems at that time) so now they can say Oh you used the warranty. Its disgusting nobody cares, its such a shame. Now we have to get another transmission on our own. Its wrong. If there was not a recall, we would never have even questioned it. This is a sin. Its like stealing from our daughter who has worked so hard and keeps her car in top condition. Car makers should be made to fix issues if its a known issue. Come on people. I dont even know what to say. ACURA IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY/NOR IS HONDA> You are rotten. They should be made to fix this issue as they know about it. They have 100s of complaints for this issue. Just makes me sick...

We purchased a new Bellanova White 2015 Acura TLX in June. We noticed that there were runs and pits or dimples in the paint in several areas of the car. After contacting the dealer, they took the car in to repair the paint run. The service manager took pictures and sent them to the Regional Rep who approved repainting the runs, but since a camera could not pick up the pits, the Rep said that he would have to personally inspect the vehicle. The service manager told us that his staff would inspect the entire vehicle and he sent it out to have the runs and pits repainted. After having our car for about 2 months, the pits in the paint are still not fixed by the dealer. The regional rep, who was scheduled to personally inspect our car on Oct 20, 2015 cancelled the viewing and to our knowledge has never seen the vehicle. We have contacted the Acura corporate office and they notified us that Acura will not take any responsibility for the pitting/dimples in the paint and they dont consider it a defect. BUYER BEWARE!!! Our only option at this time is to report this matter to the State Attorney General and apply for a solution through the states Lemon Law. My wife and I have owned 8 Hondas/Acuras since the 80s including 1 new RSX and 3 new TLs/TLX. This is the most disappointing new car, or used car purchase either of us have ever experienced. As I said earlier, BUYER BEWARE!

Car was quality. Ranges from sporty to luxury with nearly unmatched quality. Acura is a dependable brand that offers great styles. I believe it is owned by Honda and has great motors that hold up well. You still see a lot of older models still on the road which validates that Acura is quality and very dependable. I like the integration, NSX and RSX models especially for their unique style and quality. The TL model is nice as well giving you the same look almost as a Lexus but I believe the Acura models are more appealing than Lexus personally. Acuras are easier to personalize or upgrade than most other cars. Almost all brands make parts for Acura which also helps with pricing because parts are so readily available. If you are into showing cars there are endless possibilities. Normal to average, models seat anywhere from 2 to 5 people. The RSX seats 4, the integration seats 4 and the NSX seats 2.

I use this car mostly in the city so for its purpose it is solid. However when I do hit the highway there is no question I am secure in this vehicle. Performance: not the best off the mark but it handles well. Put some snow tires on and your good all winter. ACURA is part of the HONDA family and I am a Honda fan so I felt confident in this purchase. This car is a mid level SUV which stands up very well. It drives not as smoothly as some higher end makes but certainly delivers a quality comfortable ride. The Nav system needs work and maybe theyve fixed it since my 2014 but for now I dont get to use it. I drive off my phone instead. I cant really speak to gas consumption as I drive very little but so far, is reasonable.

The knobs were also sleek and slim. All the features were good. I didnt like the power of the a/c though, but it was bearable. I upgraded it a lot; rims, tires, exhaust, engine, suspension, etc. The upgrades were very high end and it roared. I loved it. But, the whole car felt small. Plus all fluids low and dirty including the transmission and brake fluid. After picking up the vehicle with just A/C service, I immediately drove it over to a reputable repair service that is AAA approved. The only item that would need to be replaced within the next 10K miles or so was the right front stabilizer Links. The mechanic showed us the power steering = no leak, the fluids = clean and full, and the drive belt was perfect. How do dealers get away with this?

I purchased two CPO Acuras. A 2014 RDX with 8000 miles on it and a 2015 TLX with 5,000 miles. Since then have performed all maintenance as specified through a dealer. I have had issues with both vehicles as described below. With under 50,000 miles on the RDX a check emissions light came on and I replaced a front rocker arm oil sensor switch. One month later the light came back on and I was told the the vehicle needed to have a software upgrade for the engine and transmission for $200. 3 days later the light came back on and now the Im told the rear oil sensor switch needs to be replaced for another $300.With TLX I experienced something I had never seen. Approximately 3 or 4 months after replacing the battery at the dealer the car shut down completely at an intersection with no power on to anything not even the emergency flashers. I was forced to call the police and a tow truck to get me to the dealer $400 later the dealer informed me that the replacement battery had failed. Of course they replaced the battery at no charge but no compensation for the cost of the tow or my time (I was on my way to a client). I would seriously advise anyone looking at spending the money on an luxury brand to be advised to careful consider not only the vehicle but how youll be treated afterwards.

My 2011 Accura MDXs GPS system is often inaccurate, provides misleading direction, and is a logically inferior product. Since purchase, my GPS has often taken me on wild chases in the wrong direction, gives misleading information as to the actual direction of the destination, and continues to offer business address options for businesses which have closed more than 8 years ago, despite the fact that a 2012 mapping system was purportedly installed in my vehicle just last year. Everything else on the vehicle is great, but the GPS, because of the foregoing is virtually worthless. Yes, 60% of the time it works well, but that is not enough to trust when accuracy is important. In addition, there is no one to whom one can complain at Accura since there seems to be a stone wall between the manufacturer and its customers. The dealership knows little and offers little on this issue, except to replace the bad map with an equally bad one.

Hoping someone might have some insight on this... I bought a TLX October 2015 and babied it. A few weeks ago my husband asked me what I hit, because he noticed spidering of the paint to the front bumper. I know that I didnt hit anything, but I figured sure, theres a chance someone hit my car. But the more I looked at it, it appears that theres a bubble in the paint, and then the spidering is stemming from that. The bizarre part is that the clear coat is flawless; not an imperfection or scratch. Wouldnt one think if something hit it enough to cause a bubble and spidering, then the clear coat (which took the impact) would be affected? I took it to the Bedford Acura where I purchased it. The mechanic looked at it and said it was probably from impact, its $275 to repaint that half of the bumper. The manager then looked at it and said I agree with you (myself), thats odd, if there was impact there should be damage to the clear coat. He took a picture and sent it to the regional sales rep and today I received a phone call back that they believe its from stress impact and its not covered in warranty. I know Im not paint or car specialist, but Im truly having a hard time accepting this, so hoped others might have insight... but Im very unhappy with the mixed opinions Ive had, and the instant rejection by the company. I will certainly be pursuing this further! Not sure if this factors in (I mentioned it at my most recent visit but they said it was totally unrelated), but December 2016 I came out to my car and noticed a silver plastic accent piece on that same side had just popped out from the bumper; the clips holding it in place were broken. Again, there was no surrounding damage, and no damage to the piece itself other than the inner clips having broken off. I took it in and they replaced that piece. Im now starting to wonder if theres something wrong with the whole bumper itself and thats whats causing all of these non-impact problems! And Im rather address it before it is out of warranty. Ugh.

The vehicle has a V6 engine and plenty of power and the style is sleek, aerodynamic curves and it a great vehicle. The only issue I have are the tire sensors fail consistently and these are a nuisance as I have my own pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure. The ILX which is the compact sport car was a little small and the RLX was larger, but the TLX is the largest sedan and had quite a bit of room to maneuver in. BUYER BEWARE! I bought the 2019 RDX about 5 months ago and just brought it back to the dealer for the 3rd time for the same electrical problem. Apparently I found out today that Acura was well aware of the situation however, let the dealers sell the cars with this defect. The dealer and Acura, who dealing with is a nightmare (Acura) stated a patch to the software had to be created to stop the problem. So why would they sell a car that they knew had a defect? So have a case open with Acura. I dont even want the IT anymore and will be bringing this to the attention of the WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News so that we can make this misrepresentation known to the public (in Connecticut) anyways. There were 7 other RDXs in the lot waiting to get repaired - I dont know if it is for the same reason but what does that tell you when you see 7 2019 cars needing to be repaired. Dont say you have not been warned. This is totally unacceptable and the customer service is horrible from Acura. My case manager does not return calls and when I spoke with a so called supervisor at Acura she states, Well you need to deal with your case manager, I dont do that. I know it’s a huge review but please read it before you make a decision to buy Acura ILX! Maybe it will help you to change your mind! Since the moment I bought a brand new Acura ILX 2020 as a pleasure car in July 2020, I have already visited Prime Acura Dealership 10 times. The main issue – is a loud clunking noise that coming from the front side of the vehicle so you can feel it in the floor when tapping the gas while cruising and also from the passenger’s side and also hesitation while driving. All these problems occurred when the mileage on the car was about 3500 miles. To solve the issues, the dealership made a decision to replace the right axel (twice) and the intermediate shaft. They unsuccessfully tried to resolve the issue with the noise two times. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem the 3rd time, they told me that the noise is actually a normal characteristic of the vehicle. When I asked them why it was considered abnormal before and now it became normal, the mechanic told me that he didn’t know this particular model very well at that point. When I tried to look for a help in the other dealerships, I had received the same answer – the noise is the normal characteristic and the car is acting as designed. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem (it was my 6th time) the mechanic with more than 20 years of experience at Acura, who did a test drive, told me that the main reason of the noise could be transmission defect and that, possibly, there is a transmission replacement required. But after couple days of working with my car, the manager of the dealership got back to me with the answer that the car is acting normal. I have a camera in my car that recording 24/7, and the moment where the mechanic mentioned the transmission defect was recorded. But when I came home and check my recordings, I found out that that particular piece is missing. I have never had any issues with my camera before! Unfortunately, nobody from the dealership was able to explain me how that happened. To my great luck, I forgot to switch my clock to winter time, and because of that I have all the videos that I thought have been deleted. I decided not to give up and made an appointment with the engineer at Prime Acura. I requested a joint test drive with him, but at the dealership they told me that this is impossible because of the COVID-19. It was weird to me, because they allowed joint test drives with the mechanics but no with the engineers. When I realized that nobody at Prime Acura wants to help me, I went to the independent licensed mechanics who confirmed that the problem exists –“ there are hesitation during acceleration and thumping noise during up shifts, problem is indicated as internal transmission or TCM programming issue”. It was exactly the same words that the mechanic at Acura said to me before they changed their minds. One day I couldn’t start my car, because the battery died (Brand new car!). I had to ask my husband to jump the car and rafter that I went to the Prime Acura right away. The mechanic performed the test and told me that the battery died because it was defective. They replaced the battery, but 3 weeks later I found out that my camera was not recording in the parking mode, although it was before the battery was replaced. The mechanics who installed the camera told me that the battery voltage falls below 12 volts and the camera stops the recording. I came back to Prime Acura to ask what battery they installed, because before the replacement there were no issues with the camera whatsoever. The answer that I received was the power capacity of the battery is small and the camera is too heavy for it. When I asked them why it never happened to my old battery they just tried to avoid to answer the question and only repeated that the battery is too small.I tried to look up the problem and found a few articles about the camera, stating that the camera can’t kill the battery. I sent those to the Prime Acura rep. I just wanted to get answers on my questions but instead I received very rude email from him where he says that he doesn’t want to continue the conversation. Bottom line, I haven’t seen worse customer service that was provided by Prime Acura. They haven’t fixed my problem, they haven’t shown any desire to help or at least sympathy and respect towards me as the client. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to buy Acura ILX! This 26k purchase only gave me a huge headache and a lot of stress, humiliation and prejudice of my customer and human rights. Acura doesn’t stand by their product or does the right thing by the customer! The actual quality doesn’t comply with stated, car warranty is nothing but a joke and the “premium class” is just a dial tone.

The headlights on my Acura are already cracking in less than 4 years. What a joke. I’ve been a long time Acura customer but this will be my last one. Save your dollars and go elsewhere as this company does not have your best interest in mind.

Ive had the Acura RL for a while. It is the first car in many years that I still love to drive. The design is awesome, the performance is awesome, and it has been very low maintenance, even though Im almost up to 200,000 miles!!

Purchased new from Acura dealer, a 2014 MDX. At 22,000 miles noticed annoying chirping noise. After second time to dealer, they advised noise is from fuel pump and characteristic of vehicle & similar to other MDX. The loaners I have driven do not have this noise nor did mine for first 22,000 miles. I paid $50,000 for this vehicle, which is my fourth MDX. Unless Acura changes their response and fixes this noise, it will be my last. Who pays this amount of money to listen to irritating noise caused by fuel pump? Acura appears to be company driven by cost not customer relations! Where in the past I recommended to friends to consider an MDX, I now advise them of my unresolved issue. Those that ride with me ask what the noise is and wonder why I do not have dealer repair. They are dumbfounded that Acura considers this noise acceptable.

There are sedans, that is what I have. Acura also has sports cars and SUVs. They are all similar but they each are sleek and attractive cars. They look sleek and modern. The colors are great, especially white pearl. The leather seats and wood on the dashboard are beautiful. The wheels are unique too. There are engine upgrades as well as stereo, heating/air conditioning, lighting, GPS and display upgrades. They offer satellite radio and cameras and parking sensors. Ive had some engine issues, I love the smooth ride though. The standard amount of people can fit in the vehicles. My car is roomy, no one has ever complained. There is good leg room as well. I fit 2 in the front and 3 in the back seat, even with a car seat back there.

Super dependable car and have never let me down. The gas mileage is super good for long rides... love all of the different styles and brands this car have to offers. And very spacious. I would recommend this car if you have a large family of at least 5. Lots of storage and very comfortable seat to ride with joy and peace. The passenger cap of mines is up to six people to sit. And another great thing that I like about it is that there still leg room to move around. The car that I have is more like a crossover and thats the great thing that I like about it the most. Also it came fully loaded, with seat warmers and a 6 disc DVD players.

I have had three Acura vehicles. The first two vehicles were of good quality, but the third is terrible. From the beginning Ive had problem. Ive only had it two year, but there are numerous small issues like a bluetooth system that does not work properly, a sound system that is intermittently tinny, windshield wipers that do not function on auto, and other similar small things. I have also had to have the car in for a major repair to the engine because a valve got stuck open. It shifts gears with a significant clunk frequently. And the parking sensors in the front have now been replaced twice because they start beeping at empty space. I have had the vehicle at the dealership multiple times, but because the issues are intermittent, they cannot find them and therefore cannot repair them. I have now talked to customer relations at corporate Acura multiple times, only to be told that because the dealership cant find the problems, corporate wont do anything. So now Im stuck with a vehicle that doesnt perform correctly, they Acura cant fix and wont take back.

Please be accurate with my statement? Absolutely. I purchased a 2005 Acura Rl, 4 recalls, the FAKE leather after 3 years had peeled and separated on the seats, arm rests on a $45,000 vehicle! The plastic door handles have broken causing for the whole door rest to be required to be replaced just to fix the handles. The cd radio hasnt worked since 2006. I also have a 2009 Acura rdx which also the radio doesnt work, just laughable $35,000 vehicle. You hear everything going on inside and outside of it, from screws to air. You hear it all. Im so done with Acura. My feelings were already hurt when they took the Legend name plate away in the USA. I am so, so disappointed and Lexus will be my new friend.

I have a 2010 RDX that I bought certified pre-owned. Just had my first oil change. Price shocker... What oil change costs $200??? In looking at the bill, $147 is for labor. The service also included a tire rotation which still should not cost that much. In addition, I waited an 1 1/2 for the car. What oil change takes that long?? I contacted another Acura dealership and was quoted a lower price for the same service. So far, Acura is horrible. The car came back with more dirt than it had when I brought it in. First Acura, Last Acura.
