Mercedes-Benz AMG One hits the Ring in possible record attempt preparation
Posted On: August 3, 2022
Mercedes-Benz AMG in June finally revealed the production version of the One hypercar, and the first examples will be delivered to eagerly awaiting customers later this year—a five-year wait since the reveal of the concept at the 2017 Frankfurt International Motor Show. AMG has boasted the One will come close to matching the performance of Formula 1 and top-level sports prototype race cars out on the track, and you can bet a lap record for production cars at the Nürburgring is on the agenda. The time to beat is 6:43.61, set by AMG's own GT Black Series in 2020. Right on cue, the hybrid hypercar was spotted this week testing hard at the 'Ring. It's possible the team at AMG are fine tuning things and monitoring sector times in preparation for a record attempt. Interestingly, former AMG chief Tobias Moers in early 2018 said the One had the potential to beat the longstanding all-out record of 6:11.13 set in 1983 by a Porsche 956 race car with Stefan Bellof behind the wheel. A few months after Moers made the comment, Porsche took its 919 Evo time-attack special around the 'Ring in an insane 5:19.55, a time the One is unlikely to touch. Mercedes AMG W07 Hybrid 2016 Formula One car power unit The One is powered by the same engine found in the current crop of cars raced by the Mercedes F1 team. It's a 1.6-liter turbocharged V-6, specifically the unit from the championship-winning race car from the 2015 season. The One actually features a more sophisticated powertrain than the F1 car, though. While in the race car there's only the turbocharged V-6 and a motor-generator driving the rear wheels, plus a second motor-generator integrated with the turbocharger, the One has two additional motor-generators. These drive each of the front wheels and provide the One with all-wheel drive. Peak output is 1,049 hp, though the car is relatively heavy for a two-seater, weighing in at 3,737 pounds, or close to the weight of a Ford Mustang GT. Mercedes-Benz AMG One AMG plans to build just 275 examples, each priced at 2.275 million euros (approximately $2.311 million), and all build slots are gone. Even though a lot of those build slots went to customers in the U.S., AMG wasn't able to certify the car and its finicky F1 engine for sale here without a substantial loss in performance. There is some hope for U.S. customers in the form of the Show or Display rule. Under the rule, non-U.S. certified cars with historical or technological significance can be granted permission for private import, albeit with restrictions, such as annual mileage limited to 2,500 miles.

Purchased my 2014 C300 a week ago. Has 10,000 miles. Traded in my 2011 C300 with 75k miles. Had 2 other previous Mercedes also, 2002, 2009. All had approx 75k miles when traded and NEVER an issue with previous 3 cars. 2014 has the ECO start/stop feature which if you research is not a FEATURE but a problem. Roadside Assistance tech who came out yesterday to try to assist me was floored when he could not even jump start it as he believed the starter was gone. He called Tow company, who also could not jump and gave same opinion, crazy that the starter could be gone! The ECO start/stop is believed to be the cause and if you read other problems it does a number on the wear of a battery and starter due to the excessive starting and stopping compared to vehicles without this!!! VERY IRATE AND DISAPPOINTED out of my new car for 2 days and everyone is sorry for my inconvenience.

Unfortunately I cannot repeat my exact sentences since my complaint had to be inserted to a form provided by Mercedes Benz. My complaints were about rear bumper parking sensors and seats. I have not heard anything from the Mercedes Benz up until today and I have not received any acknowledgment that my complaint was received and would be duly addressed in due time. That is a real shame for a world leading automotive company.

Mid November my C-350 would not start. I had it towed to the ONLY authorized repair shop in Dayton OH, Bob Ross Centerville. After several days and repeatedly calling them, I was finally told that my fuel pump went out as well as the wiring had melted and the level switch needed replaced. Oh and by the way this will cost $1850 give or take a penny. 9 days later the repairs were complete. I paid my bill and life appeared to be good again. I was humming along for a whole 9 days and lo and behold a siren like sound emitted from the rear of my vehicle, namely the fuel pump area. This occurred 3 1/2 days ago. I now cannot get a return phone call and I have yet to receive a diagnostic. Is it really asking too much to get an update on my vehicle?! I wish I could contact someone from Mercedes Benz and explain to them that we have another fine choice for our automobile repairs called the Foreign Exchange. But by Bob Ross having a monopoly it is giving Mercedes Benz a horrible name. Please Mercedes address this issue before I choose not to own another one of your cars. Your name has always stood for quality and I am concerned that this repair center does not.

Mercedes E350 - I have had about 15 tires changed due to flats in about 15 months. This has and still is affecting my work and family life. I am a commission salesperson and this takes time off the streets when I could be selling and making money. It is affecting how much I am making because it reduces the time Im spending with customers. I am now missing my sons soccer game because I am waiting for roadside assistance once again. I have to change cars. I am leasing this car and I just want out of my lease. I am spending too much time in Mercedes service changing tires. Please let me know how I resolve this problem.

I just found out about an issue that I am having with my car. It is a 2007 ML 350. I had the check engine light researched today. The light has been on for about 4 years. It came back that I had a balance shaft issue. MB settled out of court with this issue. I have owned this car for 8 years. They had my address on file for all eight years and never sent me an message that I had a issue with my car. What a class company. I am trying to speak to a manager right now and have been on hold for over 35 mins. Clearly they believe in good customer support. Going forward based on the way I have been treated. Dont plan on buying any MB in the future and will be selling all of the MB that I own today which is 3. You learn about a company in tough time and MB failed the test.

I bought Mercedes E350D 2016 from Mercedes Liverpool about 2 months ago. 16k on the clock, manufacturer approved. On the way home I noticed that the car starts to vibrate when I press the brakes. I contacted Mercedes Liverpool and they said that I need to go to the nearest Mercedes and fix it and they will cover all costs. I paid £1200 to change brake pads and disks and rear alloy wheel. Mercedes-Benz of Liverpool did not pay me anything, they keep saying my different stories. They said that they already sent money into my account, then they said that they issued check 2 weeks ago, then they said they need to get an approval from head office and so on. When I contacted Mercedes Customer Service, they replied to me saying that Mercedes-Benz of Liverpool had already paid me by the check so I had to go back to Liverpool to confirm that but they said: No we are still getting an approval from head office. Absolutely useless service!!! Worst service ever.

My 2006 Mercedes Benz R350 has the gear not shifting. I looked at it, the gear position is moving R-N-D but the car does not move so I towed my car to MB dealership near my house Keyes European at Van Nuys to check and make sure. So I met Karin **, Service Adviser. After she had check, she said I needed to change transmission and it might cost me $7,100. After that, I tried to call MB customer service MB USA 1-800-367-6372. Mr. Justine said he will find out what is going on with my car and he promised he will call me back with 24-48 hours. Since that day, I didnt get any answer from him due to holidays and time difference. When I bought this car, I was looking for elegance, trusted and safe. As Mercedes Benz has good brand name, when I bought this car I almost paid all of my savings from many years of saving and I always think that car will be good with no problem. I thought MB has always good service with care because of the price value that I will get from MB.

I bought a Sprinter from Fletcher Jones on June 20, 2015, and many thing went wrong. First the car didnt have some accessories they said it had including CD player and tire accessories. I have picture of the car in dealership showing some accessories on it. They removed some accessories which was on the car and gave it to me as new owner while they took the car for washing. Second, the roof was leaking so bad that I couldnt use it while raining. My handicap mother and family became wet along all our belongings. I have pictures documented the rain from roof falling down. Roadside assistant didnt come to help, they even couldnt find cars owner name.On July 20, 2015, I took the car to the dealer and they said they even dont repair it there and I have to take it to Temecula. Finally, they accepted to repair the car problem after many hours of wasting my time. On July 22, 2015, I went to take the car back. Instead of handing me car repair report and apologies for the problem, they handed me a bill for registration that I have to pay and they claimed they forgot to bill me. DMV record shows they took registration fee which had been paid by last owner or dealer, which they said the last owner paid already and manipulated the document and started charging me for the same fees. Document and DMV record for my car shows that it dated the same day I took the car back and complained about leaking problem. After all, Scott, Customer Service Manager, confirmed multiple times that they will pay registration fees and they did not. I emailed DMV and they confirmed they received money but never sent me the tag. I have the email document. When I did not receive the tag not for 2015 and not for 2016, I went to DMV office in Santa Ana and I found out they paid and then they took the money back. Now I have to pay even penalties. The car even missing last years tag. I am wondering how and who in DMV office in Placentia, industrial branch 619, is supporting them to manipulate the documents.Fletcher Jones Dealers sale, service and customer service team are not reliable and trustworthy at all. They also said my car has car wash service, later they denied it. They lied in multiple occasion and manipulated customer multiple times. If they are big dealer, we have big country and someone has to stop them ripping off clients time, money and energy. They lie when they are selling, they lie and try to trick when they are writing the contract. Make sure read the contract word by word because they change it and ask you to sign. Sale manager is rude and manipulative. Dont go there and never trust what they say, they lie.

I am having the same issue with Mercedes Benz Walnut Creek, CA. My check engine light came on within a few days of purchasing the car. The salesman Jimmy ** says that the previous owner told him that when you put gas in the light went off and sent me on my way. I came in twice more with the same complaint only to be sent away again. A short time later the cel stayed on. Eventually I had to get my car registered and have the car smogged. The smog place so the cel on and would do no more work. He suggested that I take the car back to MBWC where I purchased the car. I had an extended warranty that canceled but was told it could still be used. I was given a loaner car for a month but when MB could not get paid with the extended warranty they took the loaner back with no charge. I thought this strange. I called the general manager to discuss with him. After he spoke with his people he told me what his people said but did not have an ear for anything I had to say. My car has been at the MBWC dealership since April and after calling AGAIN general manager called to tell me they had not realized my car was still there and that after a couple of days they would start charging me storage. The last attorney I spoke to told me I didnt have a case because the amount of money I would get would not be enough to cover his attorney fees. He is greedy. I am still making payments on my car. Also result of the cel being on the problem with the transmission was missed. I now need another transmission which I got an estimate of $2200+ and the cam shaft issue $7000+. I really need help. There is a lot more but so much to type. Is there anyone willing to help steer me in the right direction?

This is absolutely the worst car I ever owned. Waited until I retired and treat myself to a Mercedes Benz. Never changed so many light bulbs in my 72 years. The electronic switch in the steering column went. The controls on the steering wheel all peeled off. The car is very shabbily made. Would not recommend any Mercedes Benz.

M-benz will hurt you. After my wife having a major electronic failure came home quite shaken just after leasing the Mercedes Benz sl63 AMG, I had the car checked. They said there were no error messages in the computer to collaborate her statements of the lights and the gauges going crazy inside and out of the car, with numerous error codes coming up. We later found out Mercedes Benz has their on board computer set to reboot with critical failure there by wiping the memory clean of the event. After other numerous electronic failures and not getting Mercedes to fix or even acknowledge them, even with photos and video, we were almost killed one night on the open highway on Oct 7 2013 when the same event that happened to wife finally occurred with me in the car. When the electronics went on rampage and freak-out lights flashing, bells dinging, flashing error codes and emergency message causing me to try to get the car on the shoulder of the road, I struck a piece of tire left on the road probably by a truck. It took the whole front of the car out. After 6 weeks of waiting for our car I called Fletcher Jones in Nevada. They told me they could not get the error codes to clear but not to worry, they were going to get it cleared up. 2 weeks later we got the car. I asked what it took to get the codes cleared up, he smiled and said the tech crashed the on board computer and it reset itself. When we drove the car back home from Vegas we had transmission trouble and error codes. I called Fletcher Jones in Las Vegas Nevada. They told me to take the car to Fletcher Jones in Ontario, 15 miles from our home in Verdemont CA. They kept the car for a few days and when they returned it they said there was nothing wrong with the transmission and there were no error codes. After several trips back to the dealership, half of the time they would not take the car. They refused to keep it till it was fixed and they would call me when the part came in. Before the part came in we were informed that my father in-law was on his death bed. I called, explained the situation and asked if they could expedite the part so we could take the car back east. I was informed by party dial that their main tech guy, George, said the car was safe to take back east the way it was.On our way out to pa, when we reached Flagstaff we started to have problems with the trunk not closing and the trunk opening while driving on the highway. By St Louis we had electrical problems and the trunk would not lock or close after opening. We drove to pa with trunk wired shut. While in pa the car was at Mercedes 4 times in 5 weeks. We were forced to stay an extra week waiting for parts to come in. We were told that the electronics were screwed up in the front of the car. Just outside to Amarillo Texas the same thing happened with the electronics that caused the accident and damage to the front of the car in October 7 2013. This time we caught it on video. We almost made it to the side of the road just before the car stopped running and went dark. The car coasted to a stop. We had no cell reception. We waited in the car for awhile. Out of desperation I tried to start the car and it sprang to life like nothing happened. Thank god we got this on video. It DID not matter to Mercedes Benz when I sent the video to Fletcher Jones in Ontario. They said not to bring in the car, they would show the video and Mercedes Benz and get back to us. They never DID!!! So much for the mantra the best or nothing.

2012 SLK 350. MBUSA, I do not agree with your companys position. To date, we had the roof trim replaced, the roof trim brackets broken (in shop for repairs), the door panels replaced, the roof cover replaced, and we are waiting for the glove box door (the material on existing one is delaminating). In addition, there are paint flaws caused by poor handling (according to MBUSA). And, after all this, I do not hear any embarrassment or indication of compensations for my troubles from MBUSA or Daimler. I am starting to believe this is standard quality for Mercedes Benz.I agree, having an MB approved body shop do anything to the paint could reduce the cars value (if the value is not already compromised due the number and type repairs already accomplished). At this point, I feel I have the following options: 1) We can file a Lemon Law Claim or other legal claim. This option is not optimum for anyone and my wife will not let me. 2) We keep the car; but given the current position of MBUSA, it is very unlikely I will ever have anything good to say about Mercedes Benz. And my family will never buy another MB product and I will do my best to dissuade my friends, co-workers, people I meet, from buying a Mercedes Benz car. 3) We can trade/sell it and buy some other companys car. I have two very good vehicles from Toyota and BMW. Unfortunately, I fear the trade-in value of this car may be very inconsistent with the possibly overstated quality of MB. 4) We can come to an agreement about compensation/price adjustment. My wife likes the car and we would consider buying another Mercedes Benz in a few years.Honestly, I prefer option 4. You have my money and you can maintain your position, but ask yourselves what if? What if, given all the defects we forced on this consumer, we agreed to compensation of a few thousand dollars for the actual depreciated value to save ourselves more than $30K, $40K, $50K (times friends and family) in future sales. I appreciate your further consideration.

I have two keys for my 2006 350. I have replaced the batteries over the years no problem with that at all. Recently, I went to replace the battery in set of keys but that didnt work for all the functions. I could lock my car but not open it... strange huh. So I went to my alternate set of keys, used them for a while and then that set didnt work either... weird. I could open my car doors but couldnt lock them. So I have been using 2 sets of keys to run my car. Doesnt make sense to me.So I contacted my Mercedes Dealership and explained the issue. They said, No problem. Come in and we will order you 2 new sets of keys. Sounds good so far... but not too fast. Each set would be $300. Mercedes wants me to pay $600 to replace Faulty keys. I didnt lose them... I just used them since I have had the car. Now they dont work properly. So I have to pay Mercedes $600 so I can operate my car and replace faulty keys. I have never heard that before. I could understand if I lost keys... but I didnt... they just stopped working correctly. So for being a good customer (repeat customer) I am now saddled with a $600 charge to replace faulty equipment. If I do that... which I must... there is no guaranty the new keys will last either. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of... COME ON MAN!! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I received a safety recall notice from Mercedes in March 2017 stating that under certain conditions a very high electric current can flow through the starting current limiter causing it to overheat. This can defect can result in fire. As of today, July 13, 2017, Mercedes told me it has no idea when the parts will be available to correct the problem. The recall affects a number of Mercedes models manufactured between 2015-2017. Mercedes has a particularly torturous telephone system. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative it was clear that he could not have cared less. Meanwhile, I have a car that is greatly diminished in value in my opinion. We have purchased approximately 10 Mercedes in the last 15 years, including 2 within the last 2 years. We will not be purchasing any more. I called to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I thought they might be able to help or have additional information. The woman barely spoke English and kept telling me my VIN number was not in their system. She finally put me on hold for about 5 minutes and amazing she found the VIN. She was equally incompetent at providing any information or in telling me what her agency would do. I asked if someone would call or email me. No way - government workers are not there to serve you apparently. Close down this worthless agency.

I recently leased a GLC 300 2020. From the first day of driving this vehicle a humming noise from the center console started up after approximately 20 minutes of driving. I was advised by my dealership to bring it in to the service dept as this is an issue. The service dept. told me that it is the new MBUX system that has been installed in these new GLC cars that gets too hot so a fan comes on to cool it down. They informed me that because the MBUX is so close to the engine that it gets hot quickly and that the fan has 3 speeds and automatically kicks in at the 3rd fan speech. Additionally, they told me this issue will only get worse in the summer and that everyone with this vehicle will be experiencing the same issue that as soon as they go into their cars this fan will start up right away due to the hot weather. Although the service department acknowledges that this is an issue for the consumer and that this box could be placed somewhere else in the car, I am told that at the moment there are no solutions and that Mercedes is saying this is normal. I contacted Mercedes Benz USA customer service where I spoke with a women named Kiara/Chiara and she was no help at all. In fact I had to chase her to down and call numerous times about this issue. She informed me that there was nothing that could be done on Mercedes Benz end and that the service department would have to provide me with any necessary documentation that I would need to take action. I was completely brushed off by customer service at MBUSA. This is a car company who does not stand by the vehicles that they are selling/leasing and will do nothing of any sort to resolve defective vehicles. Mercedes is supposed to be a Luxury vehicle but this vehicle is far from a luxury vehicle. The service dept. has informed me that others have come in with the same issue as me and from researching online I can see others are starting to report the same issue. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company as they will do nothing to fix defects and just claim its normal. A humming noise coming from the center console is far from normal.

I purchased my C230 Mercedes Benz from Ed Hicks Mercedes in Corpus Christi, Texas in 2007. For over two years, I took my car in for service whenever the service maintenance light would come on, indicating that the service was due. In 2009, after having service maintenance performed at Ed Hicks Mercedes Benz dealership, I asked a friend, who is a mechanic, to check my vehicle to see if the maintenance I was charged for was indeed performed. After taking off the unit that shows the air filter, it was clear that it had not been replaced in several years with all the bugs and dirt that had collected on the filter. Next, the oil filter was pulled out and it was clear that the oil had not been changed in several months, even though I just had the oil change less than 4 hours ago. On the maintenance receipt, it clearly shows 6 quantities of oil change. C230 maintenance book shows 5.8 quantity of oil per vehicle. After checking other C230 maintenance receipts, I found out that I was charged 7 quantities, on others, I was charged 8 quantities of oil for my car when it can only hold 5.8 quantities of oil. My question is where were the additional quantities of oil being used for if not for my car?I drove my vehicle for over two years believing that the maintenance I was paying for was being done. I now know that they were not. I contacted Ed Hicks with my findings and they admitted that the oil change and filter was not replaced. The service manager was present when I took my car in. He saw for himself that the filter had not been replaced and the oil had not been changed. The mechanic told the service manager that he had an emergency that day and just forgot to complete the maintenance. However, Ed Hick refused to refund me the maintenance they have charged me for the job that was not performed. I need a lawyer that can help!

I bought this car with 3k miles on it from Mercedes Manhattan. At the time of purchase it was 5 months old. The first 2 years were great. The third year the problems started. I have probably had every hose, spark plug, brakes, tires and many other items replaced. This is now my 4th year owning it and for the last 7 months it has literally been in the shop every single month. The check engine light comes on every other week at this point. I called Mercedes corporate and they told me to keep bringing it into the shop! Really??! A $100k car and they tell me to just keep getting it fixed! Absolutely useless! I will be switching brands!

I bought my C300 back in 2010 from Walters in Riverside, CA with two year extended warranty. I paid $3000 extra. At that time, Vincent, the agent who sold the car to me said that the seat covers were made from genuine leather. But last year the seat panels on driver side and passenger seat in the back were torn apart right where the stitches were. I went to the dealership in Fresno, CA, but they could not help neither the MB headquarter in New Jersey. I rolled back the cover and found it was made from vinyl. The C300 manual says the seat cover is made of genuine leather and the interior trim is made of wood. These are not true. MB is being dishonest and lied to me. I found on the internet that a lot of customers were reporting the same problem. I am still waiting for the defective airbag to be replaced. MB wants people either forget about the safety issue, die naturally or sell their cars.

2015 C300 cracked a piston at 68,000 miles causing engine damage that is unable to be repaired. This car was serviced on time through an authorized MB dealer for 4 years. Car always ran loud and would not shift smoothly. These complaints have been documented for 4 years but MB failed to disclose to me that the loud noise was because of a manufacturing defect common in engines built prior to April 2015. Mercedes Benz authorized mechanic failed to recognize that the car was manufactured with inferior wrist pins which would ultimately lead to engine damage.MB knew exactly which engines were affected by this and failed to act. Engine failed after warranty ended. MB refuses to pay for any of the damage, even though they recognize that engines built prior to April 2015 would eventually suffer such damage. Parts (wrist pins) were modified in engines after April 2015. MB will not help with cost of repairs since the car is out of warranty. Since the car was taken in multiple times while it was under warranty, MB should absorb some or all of the cost to repair.

After my car had A3 service at the Lonestar Mercedes-Benz dealership in Calgary, Canada on June 21, 2016, the car started an oil leak. The car was diagnosed of a problem with the dipstick seal on July 27. However, it wasnt the real problem after the second check up was done in August 4. The dealer told me that it was the oil cooler seal which is a completely different thing. The problem wasnt really solved since I found the car still had an oil leak the next day and had to send it back to the dealer again. The worst thing was when I picked up the car on August 10, 2016. There was a big crack found on the windshield which was not on the car when I dropped it off at the dealership. Jeff, a customer service mgr, immediately denied and said that it wasnt their responsibility without even investigating the problem thoroughly. I was told that they can only replace the windshield at my own cost, and has formed no room for negotiation. Followed by a conversation with Doug, an operation mgr, who insisted that they wouldnt take responsibility, but would like to share the cost. After a couple of hours of discussion, the thing turned out to a disagreement of what they offered as I strongly think my car was under the dealers roof when it was being repaired. The dealers must be responsible for the problem they caused. How come I have to pay the damage that I didnt do anything about! The issues just keep coming with this dealer. These guys hang up phones, and even impolitely terminated the conversation and left me alone in the office. I felt bullied when they said, We will only give you this offer whether you accept it or not, the offer is firm and unchanged. I dont need any offer. What I need is the full compensation for the damage occurred at the dealer shop!

My C300 Mercedes Benz with approximately 52,000 miles started to have an electrical problem about June 1, 2016. While driving at night, the headlights just went out: completely dark. I was very concerned about my safety, pedestrians and other drivers on the roads & highways. This problem occurred repeatedly over several nights and I decided not to drive at nights for next weeks. I took the car in to Mercedes-Benz of Miami (AutoNation) in Miami Gardens, FL. The diagnosis was that the wires to both headlamp units was corroded and would steadily deteriorate to where the headlights would become totally inoperable. This is outrageous that Mercedes Benz has used inferior quality electrical material that would corrode in a car with only 50,000 +/- miles. Of course, the repairs are not covered because the warranty expired at 4 years or 50,000 miles and the extended warranty expired 4 years ago. The cars sunroof also leaked and flooded inside my car on two (2) separate occasions. I paid the Dealerships to fix these leaks but the last repair was not done properly so now I have water and leaks every time it rains which is now nearly every other day during the summers here in South Florida. This leaves a damp, musty, moldy smell inside my car. Im unable to open the sunroof to dry out inside properly because the little PLASTIC lever broke as Id attempted to open the sunroof some months ago. Everything about Mercedes Benz quality has steadily declined to using inferior, cheap quality and plastic materials. That is why there is so many increase of RECALLS on all makes and models of Mercedes Benz cars and SUVs. Poor INNOVATION, PERFORMANCE & SERVICE: MBs Motto!! Customer Service Manager, Atlanta, Corporate Mercedes Benz USA offered a $260 - discount towards repairs to me, a twenty-eight(28) years loyal repeat Customer who has owned several Mercedes Benz cars since 1988! With documentation: Purchased a 2010 ML350 Mercedes with 55,000 miles from a local/reputable dealer. Engine light was on when I test drove. Return visit the engine light was off and I was told it was a minor situation and after through check the car was in excellent condition. (Body, interior, like new.) Purchased the vehicle. Engine light continued to come on then go off. Weeks later the engine light came on and stayed on for several local miles. Immediately took for service. Had 60,000 maintenance done, oil change, other. Engine light stayed off. Drove to S Florida. Engine light came on again. Took to reputable foreign car specialist. Needed # 4 engine coil. Engine light off. Few (short) weeks later - engine light on. Immediately returned to shop. Needed # 4 coil replacement. Few (short) week(s) later - engine light on. Then engine light off & stayed off. Shipped to VA. Engine light off. Drove short miles - engine light on again - this time I returned to the VA foreign car specialist to determine why the light keeps coming on. Same symptoms over and over since before 55,000 miles on a well serviced car. Summary: This car needs a # 4 cylinder (head?) replacement, plus there is a TSB from Mercedes on this engine for known problems. Mercedes Corporate (told me I was not loyal to the brand) refuses to stand behind the vehicle. Corporate passed to a dealer whom I did not purchase the car from. They of course are unwilling to help. I have not gotten help anywhere. NOW I ASK YOU - Will you purchase a Mercedes knowing it could need a new engine @ 55,000 (+/- ) miles? No car with 55,000 miles should have these kinds of issues let alone what used to be the top luxury car. It is not the customer who is not loyal to the brand - it is the company who is not loyal to the customer and dropping the makers ranking from number one to number three (or below). I need a sound engine in my car. BUYER BEWARE when buying Mercedes Benz. [Note: If this saga ends on a reputable note - I will update this posting.]

Second time in 1 year 2 tires blew out on the road in NYC. Paid first time for 2 tires because was told the wheel alignment was the cause of the bubbles on the tires. In fact the tires were defective and the car was at all times maintained on schedule by the dealer (2013 model S550). They wanted to charge for the tire replacement second time and charge for the wheel alignment - again the dealer maintains the car. My conclusion is that the tires are defective or not suited for driving in the city. This is the last time I will buy a Mercedes - poor quality, poor overpriced service...

I purchased a Benz E250 Coupe 2 Door in 2010 straight from the dealership. The vehicle was hardly used and is mostly driven by a driver and no passengers and has only been driven less that 30,000km. Last year the front passenger seat, when you try to adjust the seat forward or backward only one side moves. Therefore the seat becomes one sided. When we took it in to the dealership they said that the mechanism under the seat needs to be changed. Guess how much it costs? Close to USD5000.00. How can a prestigious vehicle such as this have a defective part that powers a seat that was hardly ever used? Inferior comes to mind. So how can I get some relief?

BEWARE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A MERCEDES GLE! On November 30, 201
BEWARE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A MERCEDES GLE! On November 30, 2016, I leased a Mercedes GLE from Keyes Mercedes in Van Nuys, California. Only a month later, the coolant light came on. We fixed the issue. And then about two months later, two other error signs kept lighting up: (1) Inoperative, See Operators Manual and (2) Active Brake Assist, Functions Limited, See Operators Manual. I was very concerned because the accelerator felt odd when the error signs came on, and the car did not feel safe to drive. We brought the car in for service. The service department addressed the issue, and I received my car back. Since then, the error lights have come on again and again. At this point, my car has gone in FOUR TIMES to the service department to address these error signs that keep coming on! I soon will reach ONE MONTH of being in a loaner car.Keyes Mercedes Service Department has been great in trying to repair the car, but the car is a lemon and it doesnt look like it can be fixed. Mercedes headquarters has been absolutely terrible. Back in March, I reached out to Mercedes headquarters at 800 367 6372, and spoke to an Executive Referral Manager by the name of Kyla. She would not provide her last name. All she would say is it would take 4-6 weeks to determine what can be done, if anything. She would not escalate the situation further, and she would not put me in touch with the regional manager. When I tried to reach out to her when I kept having to bring the car back in for service, she did not respond. When I finally heard back, Kyla said there is nothing that could be done and, shortly afterwards, she relayed that she is changing roles. After several attempts to find a new contact at Mercedes headquarters, I received a call from someone named Brian today. He, too, would not provide his last name. All he could say is it would take another 4-6 weeks to determine what can be done, if anything! THIS IS LUDICROUS! Weve had the car for only 5 1/2 months. It is completely unreasonable for us to have experienced this many error signs. In fact, we should not have experienced any during this short time. What is more unreasonable is Mercedes headquarters will not do a thing about it. Ive never encountered such terrible customer service! I have a feeling that Ill be stuck in a loaner car for many months to come at this rate! It looks like MERCEDES GAVE ME A LEMON!

As a first time lease owner of my fist Mercedes C-class this was a huge disappointment. Prepaid for 2 services at the beginning of the lease just to find out that they expire 2 years after and not by the end of the lease how they made me think. Was only less than a month after my expiration that I took car for service B and now on top of my already paid $500 I must pay again. This is beyond dishonest and most terrible customer treatment Ive ever encountered. Called the office and spoke to Juan who was only able to get a partial credit for the service I now have to pay for the second time. How would you like paying for service twice? Also, on the phone with Mercedes customer service I was blackmailed by Juan (phone number: **) not to write my honest review about this situation or they would take away even the partial credit they just gave me that only partially covers my second charge for the same service I already paid for when I signed up for the lease! It was so unprofessional and disgusting to be blackmailed to stay away from writing this honest review that made me even more compelled to do so because I want to warn all future unsuspected new customers of how they will be treated as well. I will not be buying my future vehicles from them and so is my family. I only want to give my business to places that truly appreciate their customers and with lots of great competitors out there it will be easy to do. You dont want to be tricked, lied to, especially as a first time customer into something that will screw you later and they wont even care about it. Everyone should know before becoming a customer of theirs that they treat their customers in the worst possible manner without any care and with great amount of unprofessionalism by blackmailing them to speak the truth. Did not expect this coming from this car maker of this magnitude but be warned and stay away.

What makes me choose his/her brand among others is its many advantages including speed, internal features, ease of use, and abundance of refrigeration, making it easy, and available. Please note that while this review pertains to a 2008 C300, I have spoken to owners of two newer model C300s, and the consensus among us is that reliability is far less than expected, and repairs are more frequent and more costly than we anticipated. Since owning this car, I have replaced several very expensive components, including a drive shaft and steering lock. During a single year, my repairs totaled $3,000. During the following year, repairs were $2,000. These are just two examples of a lengthy list of costly non-maintenance repairs. When I questioned the dealership about this track record, the salesman said, When customers ask me this, I tell them that its to be expected with a high-quality vehicle. TRANSLATION: You arent the only one whos had this experience. For me, the C300 is a low quality vehicle with a fancy emblem on the hood. I will never consider this brand again. When you hear Mercedes you think, high end, great quality and understand expensive to repair. I received notice to replace the airbag. I went to a local Mercedes dealer for the service. In the process, I inquired about what it would cost to repair the drivers bottom seat that is ripping at the seam and what it would cost to replace the broken, Plastic passenger door sensor. I was quoted $450 dollars for 2 hours of labor to replace a sensor that pops into the socket. What a joke. Then after picking up the car from the airbag replacement, found that the driver window button, also Plastic was broken off.It was not broken when I dropped off the car. The dealership will not take responsibility. I have to say that I am really surprised that either the sensor or the window button are made as cheaply as they are. I dont understand why they would not be made of a more sturdy material given the name of the manufacturer. The lack of responsibility of the dealer for the damage they caused was definitely unexpected. If I thought, at one point, of getting a new Benz, it will not be a consideration now. Nothing like overpriced and lack of accountability. Thank You Mercedes.

We bought a brand new E Class in 2008 and have had endless problems from day one. Our vehicle was purchased from Silver Star Motors in Kingston, Jamaica. Within the first couple of weeks a wrecker had to take it off the road as it had a problem with the air/gas mixture and lost power in the middle of the road. The next problem was that the vehicle came with a defective run flat indicator unit and cost us four Pirelli tires as the unit did not warn us about the loss of air pressure in the tires. We had to repair the sun roof as it had a rattling sound from day one. We had to replace a sensor in the driver side of the door handle. And just two weeks ago we were left in the middle of a busy round about as the car shut down for no apparent reason. Again a wrecker had to take it to the dealers. The problem again another unit fails to function. The gas gauge was showing us two bars of petrol below half and the tank was actually empty because again another unit on this brand new Mercedes malfunctioned! This vehicle has cost us a lot of money on repairs and it is just over three years old. We did not anticipate that a top of the line motor vehicle with such high ratings would give so much problem and so we would like to talk to someone to see what redress we can get. The history of the problems is with Silver Star Motors in Kingston. You can verify with them but we are totally disappointed and embarrassed and would love to know if we actually got a factory fault vehicle with so many malfunctioning units.

My husband and I were very interested in buying a Mercedes Sprinter van but before taking the plunge we decided to rent a 2011 Sprinter. I am very glad we did because I would NOT want to own this vehicle due to MAJOR safety considerations. Also, we had a VERY poor experience with one of the service advisor of this dealership. This is our story: We were traveling through Southern Oregon and were climbing one of the steep grades of I-5 heading into Grants Pass. Suddenly, we heard a loud “pop” and the Sprinter suddenly lost power. We were in the left lane and had to quickly try to get over. We barely missed getting rear ended by a car and then a big rig. It was terrifying. We managed to get off the Interstate near Hugo, Oregon. We didn’t know it at the time but the Sprinter’s computer deliberately put the van into “limp mode”. This means that the vehicle has a fraction of the power it normally has. When we found a safe place to park, we pulled over and contacted Mercedes Emergency Roadside Assistance. They told us that it would be 2 hours before a tow arrived to take the incapacitated van and us to the M-B Dealership in Medford. We called the M-B Dealership in Medford and let them know what was happening. While we were waiting for the tow, my husband accessed information on the internet and learned that this was likely to be an issue with the Sprinters turbocharger connection to the engine. There seems to be a variety of ways that the turbocharger on this van fails. Some of these failures result in expensive maintenance issues BUT some of them make this van dangerous to drive. My husband told the M-B what he thought the issue might be with this van. Turns out that he was basically correct. We asked the Service Advisor to let us know what was happening with the repair as soon as she knew anything. Not ONCE did this Service Advisor contact us to tell us what was happening in the subsequent 2 days. We were fortunate enough to call and reach another Service Advisor who kindly told us that the problem WAS the connection between the Turbo and the Sprinter’s engine and that it would take about 4 hours to repair.I later called the Service Manager and tried to figure out if there was a reason why the Service Advisor never bothered to return our calls. Of course, the Service Manager never called me back. Given the reputation M-B has for superior customer service, I was a little perplexed at this situation but later came to the conclusion that if you are frequently dealing with unhappy M-B vehicle owners, you probably learn not to return phone calls. In summary, I was so upset at this life threatening experience and the callous way the Service Advisor treated us that I would never buy a Mercedes vehicle and I will do what I can to warn anyone to stay away from the Sprinter van.

The Mercedes C63s sits atop of the MB C class line and comes standard with the works in terms of AMG tuning and design elements for that extra bit of luxury and massive amount of performance. The 63s is NOT a cheap car by any means. In fact it probably sits atop the segment in terms of price. If you want a car that appears docile, feels luxurious and sedate, but performs and sounds like a car 10 times the price, then you may have found your match.

On November 2011, my 2005 SLK350 stopped shifting out of first gear. I had car towed to EuroMotors, and they did diagnostic test for $105.00. They told me it would be $4,331.15 to fix. I called a local import repair shop and had it towed to them. The owner of the shop has had the car for 2 months, trying to get parts from Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes keeps saying the repair parts are back-ordered and that Mercedes dealerships get them first. I spoke to a Mercedes service manager in California, who informed me that this transmission valve body and intake manifolds are widespread problems with their cars. I then called MB of North America, and they denied there was a widespread problem and that there is no recall. They told me that the independent import repair owner can order these parts. The owner of the repair shop has called every dealership in the tri-state area and was being told he cant order the parts needed to repair my little red car that I have painstakingly paid for over the last 5 years.I had car towed again to MB Keenan Motors, and they said they have to do a diagnostic test. I told them I already did that and would have results sent to them. No, they said, cant accept tests from different dealership. I have been told that the transmission is a widespread problem, and yet, MB will not recall. I would like to research a class-action suit.

We had our car serviced here and when we got it back it CAUGHT ON FIRE and so it begins. Trust me... Its worth the read. :) Heres the situation: A couple of days before Xmas, our car shut off in a parking lot and wouldnt turn on even after roadside assistance came and we hooked up a new battery. We had it towed to Autohaus on Edens, Northbrook Il based on a recommendation and because it is a Mercedes dealer and we wanted trustworthy service. They did a diagnostic and had a hard time figuring out the issue.Tom ** was very communicative and explained they were checking the battery and all the electronic systems etc but it was taking some time. Finally, we go word that they had identified that it was the EIS system. They replaced that system, completed the installation and they did a multipoint inspection to identify potential issues as well as confirm that the battery, cables, mountings etc. were inspected and were AOK. This took 10 days.We got the car back. It CAUGHT ON FIRE while were were driving. The fire was where the battery is located underneath the passenger seat with flames and smoke billowing up. There was no indication anywhere on the dashboard that there was a problem. Thank god We were not on a highway and that one of my kids or spouse werent sitting there when this happened or we could have been killed or badly burned. Luckily it was snowing a boatload and we got the fire out by shoving snow on it and when the smoke cleared, we noticed the red safety plate that typically covers the positive connection had been removed and was sitting placed in the back of the passenger seat. We took pics, contacted our insurance who told us to contact the dealer and let them know once we had a cause. We contacted Tom ** at Autohaus on the Edens and explained the situation. He advised us to have it towed back there so they could do an investigation. We had the car towed up there and he called a couple of days later and stated that they needed us to authorize $500.00 to pay for a further diagnostic because they had to pull up the seat to determine the cause of the fire. He believed it was an issue with something shorting out the battery but needed confirm. We agreed to the diagnostic. He commented that they never touched the battery the first time we brought it in. We reminded him (we have his voicemail) that when we brought the car there the first time, he let us know they couldnt figure out the problem as they had tested the battery and it was working fine. They also completed installation of the battery (he confirmed) and finally they provided us with a multiple point written inspection report where they specifically stated that they inspected the battery, cables, mountings etc. and all are AOK. We again brought up the missing red safety cap that should have been covering the positive wires and he stated that doesnt matter and isnt the issue. We asked if the exposed wires that should have been covered by the cap could have caused the fire if they sparked and he said he wasnt sure but would know more once they did a full investigation. We waited and then received a report where no diagnostic was included but rather they just supplied the cost of the damage and repairs for $4600.00. Included in this report was a new multipoint inspection where they stated that they inspected the battery, wires, mountings and cables and all were AOK. Except that the battery had melted as had the connecting wires and cables. WHAT? Hmmmm. He followed up with a phone call and stated that they thought the battery was faulty and we should go after the battery company. We asked why that wasnt listed as a diagnostic he said he couldnt legally state that but we actually paid 500.00 to figure out the cause and we would need that to go back to the battery company. We also asked bout that multipoint inspection stating all was ok with the battery, cables, mountings etc. When, in fact, they had been in a fire and all was melted/seriously damaged. What we learned from Tom ** is that these inspections are a courtesy and they may or may not actually do them! What?I brought my car to Mercedes because I trust they do what they said they did. I trust their recommendations. It turns out that they dont actually do the inspection. These two reports confirm this fact. Which brings me back to the first time around. If they had actually done the inspection, wouldnt they have either picked up on a loose wire and/or the missing plate? Seems reasonable. Note to self: They do NOT do the inspection, just say they do.We asked him to document the faulty battery and then we got another report where the multipoint inspection reflects that the battery, cables, mounting etc. are NOT AOK and also NOT documenting a faulty battery as the cause but instead identifying some loose wires by the positive battery cable (that would have been covered had the cap been on or picked up if they actually did the inspection) added 250$ to the bill and sent it over. 4900.00 and no cause or accountability. At this point in the conversation, we contacted the head of service Jim ** who had Tom call us back because he was too busy. You can imagine our frustration! The worst part is Tom was very polite and kept saying we want you to have a great experience and be happy. Not possible at this point. We brought our car here in December and spent 1800.00. Got it back and then it CAUGHT ON FIRE while we were driving! We bring it back again and get a huge runaround with no clear cause, conflicting reports, phone calls that conflict what was written and all the while they have our car as a hostage! Finally after 2 weeks without a car Jim ** agrees to talk to us. He does not appear to have an understanding of the details to date and the gist is he asks: What do you want? Do you want me to pay for this? Cause that isnt gonna happen. Call your insurance and have an adjuster come out. We dont want to push a claim on them but thats why you have insurance. Once we figure it out we can get you loaner and I can cover your deductible.Progress! I contact my insurance to explain that we are at an impasse and give them the details. They agree that this sounds very suspect and they get involved (thank God) but due to Covid it will take them a few days to get out there. I call Jim back with the update and he says great but no deal on the loaner. There is a catch. I can get a loaner once insurance agrees that they will pay for it...interesting.... The next day, Tom ** calls to reinforce that we will NOT get a loaner until insurance agrees to pay. He ends the convo with we want you to have a great experience. Seriously? (Note: if you have a Mercedes, get rental insurance with your car insurance!)Finally insurance and Autohaus strike a deal that is less than what they charged us initially at $4200.00 and Tom calls to state that it will take them another 7-10 days but we can have a loaner as long as we bring it back every 3 days... no exceptions. What?! Has anyone ever gotten a loaner for longer than 3 days from Autohaus on Edens? I know I have from Mercedes downtown. We live 40 minutes away; we have 4 kids; We have been without our car for 2.5 weeks (due to what appears to be negligence). We never got a loaner the first time either....oh and we had our car serviced there and then IT CAUGHT ON FIRE which is why we need a loaner! This was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!When we go to pick up the car, there is yet another report differing from the first 4 and they have added charges for additional parts but dont know what the parts are. Literally a change for parts unidentified. They told us to pay the difference and that they had contacted our insurance who would reimburse us except...wait for it...not accurate. And regarding those outstanding charges that we paid for? They will get back to us on what they were for. Still waiting. What about MERCEDES USA you may ask yourself? Well we also involved Mercedes USA and spoke with Susan, Executive Referral Manager at HQ in Georgia and she is supposedly investigating to see if there was a car malfunction but dealerships are basically franchises and they have no involvement AT ALL! What? They said this type of situation has nothing to do with them. Also she indicated that if we got the car fixed, they may not be able to investigate which is ridiculous. You would think Mercedes USA would want to inspect what happened when a Mercedes Benz catches fire at the battery under the passenger seat while being driven and there is no indication other than the flames and smoke engulfing the car that there is an issue? And that this occurred immediately after having it serviced at a Mercedes Benz Dealership. I guess not. It is so far down their list that after we submitted the photos and took the time to fill out all the information she has not responded in any way. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed or this would be a very different conversation. How did it end? We got our car back and we got the battery back as well. We are waiting to hear whats next from Mercedes. It was too big of a deal to not leave you with the details so there you have it! Dont go to Autohaus on Edens and if you do: know that the multipoint inspection isnt real. To be quite frank do yourself a favor and dont buy MERCEDES. If you want a German car...I would say look to buy and Audi or a BMW.

Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of owning my first Mercedes Benz. That was one of the big purchases that I wanted complete, once I finished college. 3 years ago I accomplished that goal and it was an exciting moment. Unfortunately, the experience of owning a Mercedes Benz quickly faded away after 3 years. My 2010 C300 doesnt even have $75,000 miles on the car yet and I have had to complete 3 expensive repairs on the car. Those dont included the repairs that had to be done before my warranty expired. 4/19/16 - Steering Lock Replacement ($1130 cost for repair), 10/10/14 - Blower Motor Replacement ($616 cost for repair), 10/10/14 Driver seat MB-Tex Replacement ($580 cost for repair). The reason for the letter is to vent my disappointment in the Mercedes Benz quality for my first car. Your slogan is, Mercedes Benz, The Best or Nothing, but unfortunately my experience has not lived up to that.

Mercedes-Benz dealership service in Pembroke Pines is the worse unprofessional people that I ever encountered on my experiences with Mercedes-Benz. From the service manager to the technicians, (if you can call them that way) they simply do not know what are they doing. There is no difference taking your vehicle to this place or a regular shop in 441 in Hollywood fl. In fact, you probably not going to have this bad service at ridiculous prices and you can be treated with most respect and professionalism.

Im one of the unfortunate people that purchased not one but two vehicles that fell into the terrible HVAC issue (2015-2018). I had a 2015 GLK and now have a 2018 GLE. Both have the known issue of the horrible vinegar, mildew smell that comes out of the AC every single time you turn it on. There was a class action lawsuit that required them to fix this issue, but they find loopholes and of course their technicians cannot explain why my car isnt covered, even though my VIN clearly shows that it should be covered. After Dec 2020 you were supposed to be able to go into a dealership and have the problem fixed.I took my car to the dealership in Pleasanton, CA, the service coordinator confirmed the smell immediately. After looking at the car she called to say the tech also identified immediately but then went on to say it wasnt covered... but couldnt explain why. After she had told me that they had in fact fixed several vehicles with the same issue a few months prior... my EXACT model and year.I contact Mercedes Benz USA. After reviewing my complaint they offered a goodwill credit of $300... towards a $613 repair. They said they considered customer loyal, the age of the car, service, etc. So Im not sure why I didnt fall under that umbrella... Ive had 2 MBs, I sent over all service records, my car only has 50k miles... and I worked for Mercedes in my 20s in the SERVICE department filing claims. I am the definition of customer loyalty. This is just a slap in the face. It took me over 20 years to finally buy my first Mercedes (I had wanted one since working at the dealership) and its an accomplishment, I should be proud of my vehicle. But Im embarrassed to have people ride in it. This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle and it smells rancid.I am so disappointed that they would rather lose a customer and their reputation over a few hundred dollars. They clearly do not stand by their product or their customer service relationships. I would completely understand if this was just MY car but it affected over 2 million cars and covered 3 years... I ended up with 2 of them and I cant even get one of them fixed. Needless to say Im done, its just the principle of bad business, I dont believe in it. I support those that support me. I feel cheated.

In Nov 2014 I notice the paint on my car was cloudy. I took it to the dealership and there was a recall. The car was in the shop for almost 2 months and when I got the car back there were so many defects - I marked them and took it back to the dealer where the owner of the paint shop showed up. They took the car back cause there is so much orange peel and defects and I got it back one day later. The car looks worse than before now with swirl marks and a haze look. I have been trying to get someone at Mercedes to help out but no luck. I just came back from the dealership and the sales manager of Mercedes Benz of South Orlando ** even said he would not be happy with the car and has been trying to reach my case manager with no luck. I told him I should not have to be dealing with this and he told me the dealership does not own the car, Mercedes Benz of America does and there is nothing he can do.Beware of buying a Mercedes as thru what I have gone thru they do not care about the customer once they sell or lease you a car. I have and do own other high end cars and have never had a bad experience with them as I have with Mercedes. The dealership offered me to trade it in on a 2015 after I already have around $36000 in this car that only has 16,000 miles on it. How in my right mind would I EVER BUY OR LEASE ANOTHER MERCEDES. I will keep all posted if Mercedes decides to do the right thing.

While it is well known as STAR brand and top luxury, comparing MB product support (goodwill) is way bad compared to BMW and Audi. Audi provides up to 12 years power train goodwill. MB with an engine less than 100K with well maintained vehicle failed to offer reasonable consideration for their engine. Their Customer support offered me 1K sales incentive on new vehicle (I have a 86K value vehicle, 1K is 1.17% of the vehicle). I would say if Daimler knows about MBUSA and keep silent this is a big mistake.

I purchased an E class in 2008, and got the hard sell about the extended limited warranty from the salesman, so I purchased it for more than $3,500, believing what the finance manager told me that it would be refundable, if the vehicle was sold or traded in before the extended limited warranty went into effect. In December 2010, my husband decided to trade in the vehicle, because an illness prevented me from driving it, and I requested a refund of the warranty as the vehicles factory warranty would not expire until April 2012. The dealer referred me to Mercedes Benz USA and they told me that the warranty was not refundable, as the warranty only allowed me to cancel 60 days after I bought the brand new car with a 4 year factory warranty. I kept telling them that this did not make sense and the 60 day rule for the refund would logically begin 60 days after the extended warranty went into effect. Mercedes corporate absolutely refused to budge from their position, and have pocketed my $3,500, without doing anything for my money. I have been a loyal MB customer for 20 years, and have purchased 5 vehicles in that time frame, and I find it unacceptable that the big international Mercedes corporation found it necessary to keep my money.

Ive had to have 2 tires replaced due to bubble issues in my Mercedes C-300. Although I thought my experience was unique, today (June 15, 2015) when I went to get my car oil changed it appears I wasnt the only one with this issue. Two other customers at the Mercedes service desk had exactly the same issues. Imagine my surprise! At $275 a tire all of us were pretty twisted that this issue is going on and Mercedes has NOT issued a recall on this brand tire! Can someone help stop this unsafe issue? Does someone have to get hurt first? How many more people are in the same boat? Can someone canvas the service logs at Mercedes and see how bad this issue really is? Lastly based on the young attendant behind the desk she said, weve had tons of people with flat tires. She also stated, dont worry we have truckloads of tires in inventory. How scary! What would you assume? Someone please advise, how do we proceed?

We purchased a Mercedes E350 in 2012. We already replaced 3 tires. Each one costs us $350. We owned more than 20 different cars in our family for all these years and none had this problem. After some web search, we found out the Low Profile Tire which are used on Mercedes E350, will not survive a deep pothole or a curb touch. That is why they have so-called Tire and Wheel insurance. When we purchased the car (new), the sales person did ask us (casually) whether we want to purchase this insurance. He did not bother to explain the significance of the problem. Now they said since we turned it down, they cannot do anything about it. Also there is no way that one can replace the Low Profile Tires with the Regular Tires. We are stuck with this problem. NJ is known to have many potholes on the streets.

I purchased a new 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van and at approximately 5000 miles I started having transmission issues. I brought it to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. Every time they tried different things from updates to the control module, replacing the valve body to even swapping out the transmission control module all with no resolve. They even had a technical rep come out and after 3 weeks in the shop it’s still not working correctly. I’m convinced that their technicians are glorified part swappers and they have no clue what theyre doing. This is my first experience with Mercedes Benz and it’s going to be my last because to date this issue has cost me over 25k in lost business from not having my van and Mercedes Benz could care less.

Updated on 11/01/2021: Between the emails and postal mail with no regard so say “stop messaging me.” I tried their live chat. I asked to be removed from their mailing list(s) and mind you the service dept. In short Suzie with live chat would tell me the sales team would be in touch. When I would type a response say I am not interested in being in touch with the sales team! She would retype the same and of I disagreed Suzie would end the chat. After serveral attempts finally she said she would relay my request. Ok finally right? Nope. An email from the sales dept. Why do companies offer customer support when all you do by reaching out is the “shut up and accept what we say and do.”Updated on 10/16/2021: I returned a call from Fletcher Jones from California. They were concerned about the review I wrote on this site. The details, facts and SAFETY CONCERN were once again ignored. This conversation when I spoke I was cut off, when I raised my voice I was threatened the call would end. I was to shut up and listen. Then the 2 yrs, not 1 yr I apologized to her and attempted, case in point, rear brakes never went out. Cut off! I attempted to explain how 2 yrs ago I was to accept what had happened by Fletcher Jones, the only reason I brought back up why was the rear brakes never gave out. But I was cut off. My advice: Do not question Fletcher Jones or Mercedes Benz. If you are not willing to accept their shut up and take it. My intelligence belittled, I was blamed, I have been blacklisted. Trust me, its not worth it.Original Review: I took my car to be serviced to Fletcher Jones Mercedes Las Vegas. It’s a 1000 miles round trip. The service advisor called me and told me my front brakes and rotors were so bad. If I did not authorize the work to be done the only way my car would leave there would be on a trailer. And rear brakes were all most gone. I was taken by surprise, shocked! A short time before making the trip FIRESTONE had inspected my car (I buy my tires from them) and they said down the road front brakes and and rotors would need changed out. But no service light on dash no squeaking or pulsating while braking, But being taken by surprise I authorized the work to be done. When I arrived back from Las Vegas I took my car to FIRESTONE. I informed them of my experience at the Mercedes service. They asked when did the brake light come on the dash. I said it never did. They asked about any squeaking, pulsating. I replied that did not occur. They inspected the rear brakes and said the rear brakes are fine. I contacted Fletcher Jones and they refused to do anything. I was upset to be cheated but I let it go.Well over a year later now! My rear brakes are still fine. So I wanted justice for being lied to and cheated out of $1400 (apx). I contacted Fletcher Jones and they offered nothing except they wanted my business back. Whatever right? So I had a garage where I live who supposedly services Mercedes to just change the oil. Well that was a joke. It took over an hour for them to find Mercedes do not take normal oil. Anyways got the oil changed. I called Fletcher Jones and said ok you can check to see if they changed the oil correctly. She agreed. But would not offer to do it for free. I later declined. I just can’t go back where I was cheated and lied to.So I reached out to Mercedes I explained in detail what happened. Debbie from Mercedes responded that Mercedes technicians know what they are doing. And basically that’s that. She obviously did not read the message but I responded about his I was obviously cheated by fact and detail representing my case. Not a response. Being ignored I wrote a few more messages only to be yet ignored. I go to write a review on the official Mercedes Benz site and they rejected my review so on the same official Mercedes Benz site I went to like a live chat and the Mercedes Benz on the official site. Told me that I was not on the official site I sent her screenshots and reminded her that we are messaging on the official Mercedes Benz site. She refused to say anything except call customer service. So attempting that and reaching out to Debbie w/ Mercedes Benz I am not able to talk to anyone or receive any messages.I called fletcher Jones and the voice mail box of the manager is full. I called the service dept and after a a long duration of the phone ringing finally I received the voicemail of the service advisor who cheated me out of my time and money. I hung up like she’s really going to help. In short I have been blacklisted from Mercedes Benz as well as Fletcher Jones Mercedes Benz for not accepting their policy and cheating me.

My thoughts about Mercedes Benz Financial and Customer Care Im completely unhappy, disenchanted and disappointed with Mercedes Benz Financial and Mercedes Benz Customer Care. To give you a timeline of events I leased a brand new AMG C 43 2019 MB on February 9th 2019 and exactly 3 days later the engine light went on and as of today February 26th the Mercedes Benz mechanics have yet been able to remove the engine light. Hence as of today my out pocket costs have been over 5,000 not including the ceramic tints I put on the new car all for nothing. At this point I have filed a grievance with Mercedes Benz Customer service and they have commenced the Buy Back Process which they say takes 24 hour period before someone can reach out to me. That was 4 days ago and still no call or email from someone from Mercedes Benz to address my concerns absolutely ridiculous. All the while all I have heard in regards to customer service is, Mr. ** you have to understand we didnt manufacturer the car, you signed a contract. Excuse me, yes I did sign a lease agreement but at this point services have not been rendered and in order to have an agreement and or contract both parties should act professionally and with high business standards and morals. Mercedes Benz USA should own this and be accountable for me being inconvenienced. It is now February 28th and still no car, and not one senior level executive has reached to me to make this right. Throughout this process the lack of responsiveness and customer service mentality as been lacking and definitely in question. Ultimately the sad part is that I still dont have a brand new car and what was supposed to be a proud day in my life has turned out to be a nightmare. E. **. Not sure at this point if I should cut my losses and to Audi. My feeling that I have lost faith in the Mercedes Benz brand. It would have been nice if a a senior executive would have had the decency to call me personally and claim ownership regarding my experience with MB Financial as well as customer care.

I bought a 2003 Mercedes E500 in early 2015. Thought I was getting a good deal on a used luxury car with less than a 100k miles. In less than a year I have spent a little over 3 thousand dollars in repairs. And that is going somewhere other than the actual dealership which would of cost me 3X as much! One of the main reasons I bought a Mercedes was because I thought they were supposed to be reliable cars. The only thing I have been able to rely on is that I will be in the shop every other month. On a positive note I took it in to the dealership for a fuel system problem that Mercedes were covering under an extended warranty and the service was great. They treated me very well, fed me and made me comfortable. And the car is a dream to drive when its working but I have a problem with the esp and some brake sensor now that is gonna cost me 2 grand bringing up the cost of repairs to near what I paid for the car in the first place in less than a year. There is no reason for anyone to buy a used Mercedes. The only people who can afford the repair costs of a Mercedes are the people who can afford a new Mercedes and if you can afford the repairs on a used Mercedes you should just buy a new Mercedes. Used Mercedes should just go straight to the junkyard so poor people like me dont get tricked into buying these money pits.

Last week, I took my E200 (2006) in for servicing at the official dealer in Amman. They said it needed an oil change, filters and new spark plugs. The car was ready in the afternoon. On my way home, the engine was choking slightly, especially when I applied the throttle. I thought it could be a faulty spark plug and decided I would take it back the next morning. When I started the car the next morning, there was a rattling noise in the engine. I moved about 20 meters, there was no power. So I took it back into my garage and called the dealer. They sent me a mechanic who said the car must not be driven and should be taken back by winch. He said the two timing cogs above the engine were probably worn and the may need replacing. Two days later, they called me from the workshop to say they had changed these parts and also put in a new timing chain but when they started the engine, there was still a rattling noise which they thought was due to something wrong with the valves. They opened up the engine again and supposedly fixed everything. My bill for this, after discount, was a handsome J.D.2545 (Euros 2700)! I paid and went home. This was yesterday. This morning, on the way to work, the brake pedal suddenly went flat and the ABS light came on. Braking was lost for a few seconds. I was lucky I was going very slowly in a traffic jam and, as the car veered to the left, I didnt hit anyone. I slowly drove the remaining mile to my office. On the way, I lost the power in the steering for a while, then the ESP light came on. I really didnt know what was going on. They have just winched the car back to the workshop. My question is this: Is it normal for Mercedes metal teeth to wear out so badly after 125000 kilometers? I am 68 years old, have had a license for 50 years and was a car dealer myself at one point. I thought Mercedes was one the best made cars on the market and lived almost forever. I am shocked, indignant and really needing an explanation.

I bought a Mercedes G 55 AMG in March 2013 for more than a Crore rupees and its been giving problems from day 1. This machine is a total failure, probably a bad production piece which they have given to me. I have had fuel pipes bursting, brake pedal plays, fuel tank issues, fuel system problem, starting problems and various other problems in their so called top of the line SUV and I have tried to complain to everybody from bottom to top but nobody is ready to help. All they are offering is a extended warranty which they offer to any customer who make s even a little bit of noise. I have had the worst experience of my life with Mercedes Benz India. After buying this car I have had this in their workshop for nearly 100 days already... I really dont know what to do and whom to approach for this problem. Any help would be appreciated..

I purchased a 2015 CLS 400 4MATIC with less than 7500 miles. After driving the vehicle for a week, I noticed a small grill for the dash temperature sensor missing. I took it to MB of Boston in Somerville, MA. I trusted that would be cover under factory warranty because I purchased this vehicle with an obvious factory defect, the dealership declined the warranty repair, instead quoted me $1200 to replaced the small vent on the dash without no explanation, the dealership make no effort to remedy the problem to ensure customer satisfaction. I was heartbroken to be told that it would not. I reached out to MBUSA customer relations, I was told a number of time theyre going to call the dealership to work it out with them and get back to me. Since then Ive been trying to reach MBUSA no one from the dealership or MBUSA has contacted me or made any attempt to remedy this situation.

I bought a new E550. MB promises that their mbrace plan is included in the price of a new vehicle for the first 6 months. Yet, for activation, they insist on a credit card number. When challenged why they need a credit card to activate something that was included in the price of the vehicle, they say its their policy and that after five months, I would have the option of not continuing with it. I find this reverse marketing unacceptable - that is, you have bought something unless you cancel it in time. A credit card is not a legal requirement in the US. I could have chosen to pay through a bank account etc. MBUSA talks nonsense about their interest in my well-being with mbrace to which I say, activate what I have paid for without demanding a credit card number and make mbrace free for the life of ownership. Obviously, mbrace is more interested in marketing and receipts than my well-being.

I have a huge issue with MB. I own a 2006 CLS 500. This was my dream car. I wanted this car so bad but when I bought it, it gave me nothing but problems. More than twice my brakes went completely out. I could not stop or slow my vehicle down, red light flashed on my dashboard saying stop reduce braking power. Do you know how scary that is to be driving on the freeway 65-70MPH & have a car cut you off & you cant stop or slow down because your breaks completely shut down, shut off. There was another couple times I was driving at 45-55mph on the street and Im coming up on a red light and I cant STOP my car at all, the breaks lock up. I feel so lucky me or my family riding in my car were not injured. Twice MB had to fix the recall SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) on my car. Certain vehicles, the sensotronic brake control (SBC) system may prematurely shift to the hydraulic back-up function mode, due to deterioration of the wiring harness connection, or due to premature failure of the hydraulic pump.Twice they had to fix this problem. I dont feel safe in this car at all. But the icing on this cake is once I got my car out of the shop, I go to Costco & fill up my gas tank, come out from shopping and underneath the drivers side back, tire gas is leaking. Me & my family get in the car & it smells so bad of gas which isnt good for a toddler to breathe nor anyone to breathe in for that matter. So I take it right back to the dealership & they diagnosed the problem -- crack in my gas tank. So since Im catching on to all these car reviews online I do my research and come to find out that Im not the only one with this or these problems on my 2006 CLS 500. Mind you MB said the gas tank leak & replacement would cost me 3,000$ to fix. So Im doing my research and there is no recall, just complaint after complaint about this gas tank leak. MB insists if I dont fill up my gas tank all the way it wont leak. I couldnt afford 3,000$ for a problem I knew MB was responsible for. So Ive been driving around for 1yr & a half with a cracked gas tank.Dec 2015 Ive exhausted all my options. Now I cant register my car, the check engine light is on because of the crack in the gas tank. So I was recently doing more research and finally MB extended the warranty & is going to cover the gas tank problem after letting me drive around with a cracked gas tank for 1yr and a half -- doesnt sound very safe and reliable. Mercedes-Benz slogan is The Best or Nothing. I havent gotten the best customer service. Roadside is picking my car up today 12-8-15 & MB of Scottsdale AZ informed me since the gas tank is on back order 1-6 weeks and they can NOT give me a loaner car. But they are going to keep my car for 1-6 weeks till the part comes in & the service rep. informed me there is 13 people ahead of me waiting on gas tanks so really who knows how long this will take. I called customer service, they were of NO help. I called them a few more times explaining to them I will NOT have a car. How will I get to work?! They said borrow a friend or family members car (I live in AZ with no family here unfortunately). But how could this be my problem? MB service rep also suggested I can still drive my car till the gas tank comes in. But I explained Ive already used my extended registration from the MVD and I cant register my car without getting a smog and I wont pass smog because check engine light is on because of the Gas Tank Leak... MB customer service wont do anything to help. I asked them what would they suggest and they stay quiet!!! I NEED ANSWERS!! I cant afford to rent a car till when?! 1-6weeks?! They cant even give me a date it will be down, everything is just up in the air & Im ** out of luck.. I am NOT ok with the way Ive been treated dealing with MB. I thought it was The Best or Nothing. My problem still isnt solved. MB roadside is on their way to pick up my car & I still have no transportation. But my car needs to be at the shop so they can order the part. This is so ridiculous and absurd!!

The Mercedes GLC 300 4matic has more luxury features than any other vehicle I researched and test drove. The surround cameras make it easy to park. It has all surround cameras, heated seats, and a comfortable ride that is adjustable to a more sporty mode. I like the seats better than the stiff seats of other makes. The auto hold feature makes it easy to brake and not have to worry about the vehicle moving. The automatic wipers make it easier to drive without having to worry about manually operating them. However, I would like to have air conditioned seats. I would also like for it to have a heated steering wheel since my hands are cold often. Also, Im worried about not having a spare tire even though it has run flat tires. Run flat tires tend to last much less longer than normal tires.

2014 Mercedes S550 4Matic - Humming noise between 50-60 MPH. Ray Catena of Edison, NJ kept my car for 4 days trying to figure out what the issue is. They said they contacted Mercedes and said Mercedes is aware of this issue. I will be contacted when there is a fix. I said can you put a date on the fix, they said NO. What am I suppose to wait 5 years for a fix? Dealer said to contact Mercedes customer service and be a Pain in the butt and see if they will declare my car as a lemon - well that didnt work. Mercedes contacted dealer and dealer said, they have duplicated this same issue in several other S550 and that it is a part of 4Matic system. Bottom line: Getting rid of Mercedes and never buying it AGAIN in my life. Stay away from THIS BRAND.

Just returned from the MB dealer and was told that the 2d set of tires was of low quality that is why they are cupping. If that was so, why did the original set do the same thing at 15,000 miles? I was enticed by Mercedes to buy this car. I was told that there would be only 150 in the United States and that you could never buy the same model with the color of the anniversary edition. That was all fine. They did not sell the color and there were only 150 made. However!!! When the 2019 E400 came out you can walk into the showroom and buy the car with the same color as my 25 year anniversary edition. Very poor of the mercedes company to do that. I have owned probably 7 or 8 Mercedes in my life, and I have bought last one I will ever buy. The car has devalued a lot because of this. I am looking into filing with the Better Business Bureau against such lousy practice of such a large company. I will never buy another Mercedes and I will tell everyone to never trust what they have to offer. So please!!! In my opinion look elsewhere before you buy and overpay for a Mercedes... Look at Audi or BMW before you trust this company.

MERCEDES GL 350 MANUFACTURED 2012. I purchased the above vehicle from you in January 2013. In October 2013, for the first time, the dash displayed the warning LR Consult Workshop (see attachment). It has taken Laughtons 5 months to identify the problem and I am now advised another 3 weeks to fix it. This is a totally unacceptable level of service. I am also advised that the earliest I will have the car repaired by is Friday 11th July.Since Im leaving for my annual holiday on the 12th, I have no confidence my vehicle will be ready in time whatsoever. I have been further advised that a loan vehicle from you would not be insured for driving in Europe and is therefore of no use to me. I have therefore to revert to my position of two weeks ago when I wrote: I give notice that unless this fault is fixed by the 30th June 2014, then I will ask you for a permanent replacement vehicle of an equal or superior specification. My 1987 Mercedes 300e is great. Old, but drives great. I have had a few things break down but that is due to the age of the car. I like it because it is a solid and not cheap car. I can always rely on it if I need to go somewhere. I like the anti-theft system and automatic everything. It has a moonroof which I really enjoy in the evenings when it is hot out. That way I can look up at the stars. It has a great stereo and the air conditioning is wonderful too. However, I would get some bodywork done on the front end and get a new paint job and maybe even get an upgrade on my stereo system. But it is sturdy.

Power steering is leaking on our 2008 ml350 with only 54000 miles. You would assume that power steering in a Mercedes will last longer than that. No parts available, have to buy a whole new steering wheel column $3500. Had to replace the lift gate motor at a cost of $2000. The power steering rack developed a leak causing the oil pressure to the unit to fail resulting in loss of power steering function. This vehicle does not have a warning system to alert the driver of this type of failure. A previous safety recall was issued January 2009 (safety recall #2008-120011) for 2008 ML 320s for a defect such as this. However, this particular vehicle was not part of that recall. We feel this part should last the life of the vehicle without failure.

I purchased my C280 with 7 miles on it. It was the car of my dreams and my very first new car. To make a long story short, five years after purchase and a lot of money invested in maintenance and repairs and no warranty, Ive been told that I need to replace the camshaft plugs, sensor, adjuster, balance shaft, engine mounts, transmission mounts, timing chain and seals. Not to mention, both door handles broke off a few months ago (and to think I blamed my children). Whats worse, the mechanic added that those problems are common problem in C class vehicles from years 2006 to beginning 2008. Basically, the Mercedes Benz company is aware that this problem occurs in their vehicles due to a plastic camshaft that was previously used. Why wasnt I told this while I was still under warranty? Why werent the parts ever recalled? I am so hurt because I cant afford the $5,500 repair on my dream car! Hi T. of Sacramento, THANK YOU for posting!! It is very interesting to read your input and observations based on your extensive experience with MB. Your example of the 2009 model year differential oil issue is concerning. I am in Canada, own a 2006 E350 4matic wagon, and it is my first MB ever. The car is super in handling, comfort, braking, quietness.... like nothing I have owned before. However, I have just been realizing from the forums and from approaching MB dealers that it can be a harrowing experience for the whole family when trying to get an issue fixed fairly. Is it possible for you to share with us, other caring and concerned MB owners, your ways of best practicing due diligence in maintaining our vehicles and avoiding costly mistakes as well? I have recently replaced both batteries in my car, based on forum advice. I now get a white symbol of a wagon with an upward pointing arrow inside the center of the wagon symbol, and a message that simply says Visit Workshop. Someone mentioned that it has to do with the shocks/suspension, and sent me a link to the Arnott site, which is a fabulous find. Better quality, longer lasting shocks than original MB. I, and I dare say surely other MB owners too, would love to hear from you on the many issues that can crop up in our cars, and the best ways to prevent, prepare and cope with them safely and economically.Strangely, I used to think that MB cars last a lifetime, if well-maintained correctly. Perhaps it still is true, except that it takes a celebritys budget today. Perhaps not, as the cars have all functions controlled via microprocessors, which has historically not been a German forte. Thank you.

My wife and I leased a brand new E350 almost one year ago. My father has the same car and we had driven every iteration he has had over the years so we were very familiar with the car, and liked the way each of his drove. The car had issues as soon as we drove it off the lot, loose parts, noises in the trunk, and rough/unpredictable shifting of the transmission. The loose parts and noises were fixed when we took our new car in to the dealer 5 days after we picked it up. They also replaced the rear tires. The car still shook and shifted roughly. So since the dealer we bought it from still had our traded vehicle, I suggested it would be best for all involved to return the car and we would leave with our trade but they refused. I contacted MB corporate and wrote letters to the President of MB North America. I was told to continue to bring the car in for service since that was what the warranty is for, but I find this completely unacceptable for such a pricey car. In almost of a year of having this car weve only driven 4500 miles because we feel the car is unsafe to drive. We pursued a lemon-law case, but since the descriptions on the repair orders are written by different people who are interpreting the problems the best they can in limited space, and since the shifting issues are intermittent, the Board ruled against us even though the car exhibited the unpredictable shifting/acceleration on the way to the hearing. We have been treated poorly by the dealer we leased the car from, and from MB Corporate who makes the Customer feel like there is no real issue with the car even though a search has revealed that the 7 speed transmission in these cars are not working correctly. Weve asked that MB re-purchase the car so we can get something that performs properly and that we feel safe driving. My wife has had issues on the highway because of the unpredictable acceleration of the car, when you expect to pass or avoid a car and you press on the gas, sometimes the car does not initially respond, and then lurch forward unpredictably. One of the board members hearing our case stated that modern cars exhibit a 2 to 3 second delay when accelerating because they are not connected to the carburetor the way older cars were which is just nonsense, but thats who is reviewing these things. I am shocked at how MB treats their Customers. I never received a response from the President of MB NA by the way. I can provide all my e-mails, letters, and repair orders if needed. MB portrays themselves as a premium brand but they treat their customers poorly and step all over them with a legal team and experts who can easily confuse board members hearing lemon cases. MB could have taken back this lemon and I would have purchased a more expensive model if they were good business people, but they are more interested in forcing the Customer to pay for a sub-standard car so that they can hold on to their image as a prestige brand which in my experience it is not. Ive had Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, and Mercedes automobiles and Ive never had anything close to this type of experience. We continue to bring the car to the dealer which has been a major inconvenience and not what you expect from a brand new car.

When my extended warranty kicked in the cost was $2000 but I now need $1400 for brakes. I spent $1900 for breaks 17 months ago. I have had headlight problems so often the police will not even ticket me because they realize how often I had to get it replaced. I have to tell you I am grateful that I only have one year left in payment but MB lost a loyal customer. I am done with your brand. I have nothing good to say about your brand or product. No, I take that back. There is. 72 year old semi retired gentleman in customer service that had great spirit and customer service. I could see the young service men treat him unfavorable. He had great customer service and appeal. MB could learn a lot from him.

With under 40,000 at the initial start of the check engine light coming on
With under 40,000 at the initial start of the check engine light coming on which no one else besides MB has ever serviced, I had to get the balance shaft replaced in the motor at my total expense. From reading reviews and information from this page and other pages they said it was best to take the car back to the dealer for this type of job. I tried other Mercedes dealerships in Cleveland: North Olmsted gave me a phone estimate of $10,000, Mercedes-Benz of Willoughby Leikin said they were too small to handle such a big job so I ended up taking the car back to Mercedes Benz of Bedford where I originally purchase it for a mere$7,036.51. I associate this cost with me being **, female, prior neg. post and phone calls. This was the worse purchase I have ever made in my life and I would NEVER buy another Mercedes. They do not stand behind their merchandise. I think they tossed a coin to see who was going to service me (after corporate calls, because Bedford where I originally purchased the car new, never called me back). My conclusion: once the car is out of warranty they really dont want your business, unless its to trade the car in on a new one and they resell your old one for a mint. I know people are in business to make money but when your product falls short of what it claims to be I feel you are obligated to provide some type of relief. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can get. When the words of many mouths is a negative experience in the end you lose. By the way Mercedes USA was a waste of my time. They did absolutely nothing.
