I love my 2014 Mazda 6. Biggest thing I don't like is the center console slides back and forth under my elbow. Dealer told me nothing can be done. Also sound system is nowhere as nice as my older VW Passat and I have the upgraded Bose.Gene of Bradenton, FL

My 2017 Mazda CX-3 has rust problems on the roof and hatch panels within 4 years. The smallest stone chips will lead to migration of rust under the paint causing bubbling. The underside and the inside of the hatch rusts even without stone chips. The bottom inside weld of the hatch rusts. This was not sprayed when I had the car rust proofed (so request it). Mazda declined my claim under the 7 year rust perforation warranty. They are still not choosing to design their cars for the North American rust belt. Similar complaints can be found on internet forums. Otherwise this is a good car.Wayne of Guelph, ON

My daughter's RX-8 has been giving her a lot of trouble, completely dying at times while she's driving. She's had it to a Mazda garage that told her that she needed new sparks plugs and wires, etc. She herself paid $1,400 to get this fixed (at this time, it was under warranty). The day after she got it home, it did the same exact thing. She took it back to the Mazda garage and then they told her that she needs a new engine, but her warranty had expired a couple days prior to her taking it back in. Now she is due to start her freshman year at college, with an unreliable car unless she'd rather use her tuition money for a new engine (I don't think so). Mazda should be embarrassed to allow a young lady to feel unsafe, when she is trying to get an education and better herself. I don't know if there is any other avenue that I can take on this matter and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Stacy of Nelsonville, OH

My daughter was massacred in her Mazda 3, they say it was 35 miles an hour. The entire front end was ripped off, engine laying on ground. It didnt seem right so I contacted Mazda to see if they were interested in defending the safety record of their products, guess what? If you're not buying you can go ** yourself. FYI we are not suing anyone, just want the truth and justice. Apparently Mazda doesnt care about their ** claims to a safe car. Friends if you have children, get them anything but a Mazda. God bless.ben of Hiram, GA

After buying a 2015 Mazda CX-5 pre-owned vehicle I had a drivetrain issue at 60K miles that cost $2800 to repair in October of 2021. Even though the preowned warranty was for 7 years and 100K miles they wouldn't cover the repair costs due to some technicality they cited with the warranty agreement. The original dealership changed ownership twice in the three years, so I brought the car to another dealership for repairs and dealt with Mazda corporate for reimbursement. The dealership that did the repairs agreed it was faulty drivetrain parts, but told me Mazda corporate said it was out of warranty. After repeated attempts to contact the customer experience center both by phone and email, over several months, I could never get past their first line of customer service to make my case to anyone with any authority to review my case. On several occasions they indicated they would get back to me, but never did. I would recommend against buying a new or preowned Mazda. They do not stand behind their product as evidenced by the initial faulty drivetrain and lack of customer support.- SteveSteven of Medway, MA

2006 Mazda 3 - I had increasing problems with oil burning. I first noticed the problem when my car was still under warranty and mentioned it to the mechanic who said it was normal. My car slowly using more & more oil. I would check it weekly, at 8 years old and 138000 km putting in 1 liter of oil every 7-10 days. Last week had complete engine failure. Told I need a new engine. I think that is crazy for a car of this age, with this mileage that I have been very conscientious re: maintenance, oil changes, etc. Mazda no help at all. Since this has happened just through conversation in the past 5 days, I have learned of 2 other people with the same issue. This should be a recall issue. I had the same problem with my the locks (being kicked in to access car), Mazda was very little help. Finally paid for updated door locks but would not pay for damage done to my door.Kim of Coquitlam, BC

Mazda 2015 - I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with Mazda windshield breaking easily when hit by a rock. We only had our car for 9 months and we had our windshield replaced twice already! The first one happened twice in one week after 3 months purchasing the car. Now, it happened again after six months. The first replacement was an original Mazda windshield, now we are trying a different brand to see if it happens again. I had a Toyota Celica year 2001 for 12 years but never encounter this type of problem, so I don't think it's my driving. I hope they do something about this, because according to the company that did my car the first time, they have also had plenty of repairs done for the same car. Hope this review helps!James of Manteca, CA

I took my Mazda Soho for a service. They told me it's the airflow meter, so we bought a new one. But it was still the same. Then they said it's the other one. Still it does the same. Now they say it's the petrol pump. I am so frustrated.Karien of Heidelberg, NC

My oil cooler started to leak. The dealer told me that the problem is a gasket, but I need to buy the whole part (oil cooler). After doing some investigation on the internet, Mazda knows that this is a problem and is not doing anything about it. If I don't get this part changed by Mazda (at the very least get a discount), I will never buy a Mazda again. I really love my CX-7 but this is not the only problem I had with it. This is the one that really filled my jar.Rodolfo of Aguascalientes, OTHER

While the 2014 cx-5 has some nice features such as blind spot monitor, (which is kind of necessary since rear visibility is not that great) it has some quirks that I don't like. If you live in the hills, the fancy moving headlights are horrible, visibility on low beams drops off so that if you are traveling up or down hill you have to put on your brights to see. We have the touring model which has a push button start but no button on the door so you have to pull out the fob to enter the car. A minor inconvenience but the most annoying thing I discovered the hard way is that if the fob drops out of your purse into the seat, and you lock the door, you will get locked out of your car. We had Push button start Nissans for 8 years and if you tried to lock the door with the fob inside it would alert you with a beep and open the doors. In the Mazda, you just get locked out. The final issue is the climate control knob. Shortly after purchase, the climate control knob would not stay on defrost and the air wasn't coming out of the vents it was supposed to. We contacted the dealership and they checked it and "fixed" it, but a month later it did the same thing. We contacted them again and they said that Mazda was aware of the problem and they had to special order a part by vin # to correct it. We had it "fixed" a second time and it's been 3 weeks and the climate control won't click into defrost again! The dealership has been good about wanting to fix it, but so far they haven't been able to figure it out. The dealership said our cx-5 was not the only one with this issue. Perhaps they have fixed some of these quirks with the 2015 /2016 models? I won't buy one again. I'm going back to Nissan.Lizz of Springville, CA
