Lexus LX 4x4 Gets Rescued From The Ocean

We would usually expect to see the Lexus LX bashing about the dunes or roaming the suburbs, depending on what country it happens to be in. This latest video posted by LC300.qa on Instagram shows a previous-generation model emerging from the seas of the United Arab Emirates, which isn't an environment we would expect to see it.
There's no explanation as to how this SUV made its way into the sea, but one thing we can be sure about is that this car is probably going to have to be scrapped.
The labor needed to clear out the salt water and replace all the corroded parts is certainly not worth the effort, especially in a country where you can get a solid gold ingot from a vending machine. The owner more than likely already has a new LX on order. As the LX gets dragged out of the ocean, we see significant cosmetic damage to the front, including the lights, grille, and bumper, and a chunk of dirt and debris that falls out of the water when the doors are opened. Thankfully, it appears as if no one was hurt in this horrific incident.
While this is a curious situation, unfortunately, it looks like we aren't getting any clear answers as to how it landed up there in the first place. If we had to guess, overconfidence is the most likely candidate. As we know, hubris has been the downfall of many a person.
However, if you are in the market for an ocean-damaged premium large SUV for a restoration project, you might want to start getting your checkbooks ready. If the owner is indeed trading up to a new-generation Lexus LX, they may need to get in line as the brand has a long waiting list for the TNGA-based SUV, with some reports suggesting a delivery time of up to 12 months. At least this is not as bad as the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, which currently has a four-year waiting period.
The LX can be adapted for serious off-road usage, which is what it needs if it is going to traverse the Middle East, but we doubt it can be outfitted for ocean use.
If you want to traverse the sea in style, we suggest considering a Lamborghini yacht if you can foot the almost $4 million price tag. Needless to say, there is never an occasion where you should use a road-based car as a boat, even if the creators tell you that it might be possible.

I leased a 2013 Lexus ES350 from Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2013. This is the 4th or 5th Lexus ES350 that I have leased and have been very satisfied until this car. We are both retired and have less than 9000 miles on it. We had driven this car without any problems up until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we went to start the car and the battery was dead. Sewell sent roadside service and replaced the battery. All was good until April 2015. Same problem, dead battery. They checked it out and said everything was good. In April 2015 same problem. They have checked it out. Cannot find problem. Said we dont drive it enough. If so, how did we drive it for over one year with no problems. Anyone else have same problem?
I have a 2007 IS250. I bought the vehicle brand new. Ive had several issues with this vehicle, for starters the vehicle inside interior is POORLY crafted. The dash is melting, as well as the door panels. Ive had to replace both headlights. I also had minor engine problems which was covered under warranty. Lexus is rated as one of the top vehicles in the country. I would NEVER EXPECT a TOP RATED vehicle as Lexus to have this sort of issue (interior). I find this to be VERY UNFAIR to myself and other consumers who have purchased this vehicle and also experiencing this problem (interior). Lexus REFUSE to order a RECALL on this issue. If I had known the interior on this vehicle was SO POOR I would have never purchased it. If you are thinking on purchasing this model, the model itself is NICE, OTHERWISE, DO NOT PURCHASE. I just would think a company of the sort (Lexus) would do a MUCH BETTER JOB at listening and HANDLING consumers complaints and protecting LEXUS name. I am sure this complaint is not the only complaint on this particular model (IS250). All the other models Im certain DO NOT HAVE this issue so why not place a RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, AT LEAST THE DASH? Unhappy Consumer. I rate this vehicle???
I am a current owner and driver of a 2007 Lexus is250. This car was purchased brand new in October 2006 from the Westminster Lexus dealership. Since the very beginning this car has had many problems which include numerous manufacturer recalls. In 2011, shortly before the warranty expired, the navigation unit went out. By the time the car was taken in, it was 60 miles over the warranty miles (Warranty was void because of mileage not years). The dealership said that we would have to pay for the repairs and quoted the repair to be $2,300+. Also around this time, the dashboard began to get sticky. Another repair that would have to be fixed out of pocket. This car has been very well taken care of. We made sure that we followed all the manufacturers recommendations on how to properly care for this car. We have never used any solvent or spray on the dashboard and followed the recommendations to use warm water. A sunshade has been used since the first day to shield the sun away from the dark interior. I have tried countless times to see if any Lexus dealership could help me out because this has to be a manufacturers defect but no dealership has offered to help. I have met several Lexus owners that have experienced the same problems. I have read on online forums even more people from all parts of the United States and in the U.K. who have the same problems. I am not as concerned with the little problems with the car as much as I am with the navigation unit and the dashboard. I finally decided to contact Consumer Affairs after a friend suggested I do. She has a separate problem with her Lexus and said that bringing this to your attention may finally get results. I feel as though buyers of Lexus are getting the short end of the stick. We spend so much money purchasing a luxury car but end up with a defective vehicle that requires more money to fix. Im not even going to go into details about the cars paint.
It is comfortable, nice handling, easy to park and a good looking SUV. We looked at all of the luxury 5 passenger SUVs and the RX-350 stood out above all the rest. Good performer and satisfactory fuel mileage for an AWD.
I love Lexus line of models, mainly the cars but would really like to see a sportier van or SUV option for us moms on the go, maybe have some options for electronic device storage for all the passengers. I would love to see a wine bottle storage compartment added in as an option when us adults want to go on a night camping trip too. Keep the luxury, keep the excellent quality but amp up the capacity and horsepower. The sleek lines on the exterior set it apart, but what I love most is how the inside fits so well. The features are very high end and the designers and developers obviously put a lot of work into how convenient everything would be to reach. The auto locking of the doors that can be customized by the driver is an amazing feature too, it keeps my children from trying to unlock or open the doors. I can set how long the interior lights stay on, change my exterior signal flash, the brightness of my dash lights, among many other amazing features. The passenger capacity is huge, luxurious and keeps the kids from annoying each other.
I currently own a 2013 GS. Initially, customer service was great until I had an issue with what should have been a routine fix. The problem is consistent throughout the lineup with the speaker performance. The door speakers are outperformed by the center channel and satellite speakers. The problem wasnt necessarily the manufacturer defect, but the treatment by the service staff. Im surprised a class action lawsuit hasnt taken place against Lexus for refusing to honor items covered under warranty or acknowledgement of the problem. To sum it up, the ten speaker layout in the 2013 Lexus GS 350 has a defect in the system. The voice coil in the door speakers malfunctions causing feedback to the channel. Today, I make my stand and refuse to be insulted by Lexus any more. Pursuit of perfection? Please adopt a new slogan. This is a brand I will never affiliate myself with, and yes never really means never.
Its good, can last long for gas. Dont need to repair car for a while, its sturdy and nice. Had to change 2 wheels though. After that I did had to fix anything up like oil change. But car can go 100000 miles before it needs repair. Its really good car to go on a road trip. I would definitely recommend my company. But, the car needs more work on the seats, it has been a difficult time trying to drive with sitting on this seat. I would also fix the door because it is a bit weak and it broke once.
Am trying to assist a friend who owns an RX300 and was appalled by what she told me about her trans. problems. I own a 2005 Toyota Matrix (same co., same Ivory Tower board of directors). HELLO!!!!! And Ive been beyond appalled by what Ive read on the internet about inexcusable DEFECTS of Lexus products. I also am beginning to have trans. issues, so now I am doubly concerned! I am a CAR GUY and give quite a few people advice on WHAT TO BUY. From what Ive read in just the last few days on the internet, Ive just put Lexus on my DO NOT BUY LIST!! It is time for CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS; as was mentioned by the complaint I last read 5 min. ago. N.B. after several days of reading complaint after complaint, finally someone mentioned CLASS ACTION! PLEASE someone out there respond to this plea for help so we can get the ball rolling.
My Ls has been in Lexus dealer since Dec 5 2016. Today is January 13th 2017 and I have yet to receive my car back. The vehicle needs a new navigation hard drive. I have third party warranty which covered the repair ($1400 part + labor). Prior to getting the warranty I bought new front end suspension parts for the vehicle. ($5,000+ air struts, upper and lower control arms and hardware, sway links etc all Lexus parts all out of pocket expense) I have all receipts for the repairs done and parts bought. My Vehicle had no issue or problems beside the navi when I brought it in for service. My vehicle was dropped off at Lexus on Dec 5 for the hard drive issue and still have yet to be fixed. I received the car back on Dec 27th only because I needed the vehicle for the new year as my loaner was way too small to fit my family in. Is300. (My car was 3 weeks sitting in the dealer parking lot doing nothing but waiting for parts). When I picked it up on the 27th driving back home from the dealer, CHECK HYBRID illuminated. I panicked. I pulled over and called the dealer. No answer. They were closed already. I didnt have this issue before bringing it to the dealer. I didnt worry too much because repairs still wasnt completed and maybe thats what caused the issue so continued on my way home. No problem. My Vehicle was returned on Monday (January 2nd) first thing to complete repair and the battery was diagnosed. Trouble code PA080 hybrid battery failure. Lexus wants $7,800+ to replace battery and my third party warranty covers all hybrid components except hybrid battery. My advisor informed me that I just missed the hybrid warranty period. 8 years/100k. I was informed that the vehicle will not drive for long and will leave me stranded somewhere down the road eventually if I continue to drive it.I travel from Massachusetts to New York often and cannot take that big of a risk. So I Filed a complaint about the battery as well as poor service. Manager Diane ** contacted me 24 hrs later saying she will make the contact with my dealer to see what can be done and speak with her manager. Communication was absolutely horrible. I had to call corporate multiple times just to get a reply. Diane never called me when she said she would. So I called again and they said Oh she left a message for you saying that your dealer will contact you today with a resolution. (One week later) She says Lexus corporate offers me a $300 credit for the inconvenience. I said What? Thats horrible. I drive a Ls600hL. Theres nothing I can get done or buy with that. I took the offer. Only because they wouldnt offer any further assistance. Something was better than nothing. As far as the hybrid battery, I asked her again what can Lexus do about this? She pretended as if this was a new story I was giving her. As if I didnt discuss it before with her. When The initial complaint was filed, it was regarding the hybrid battery. She says she will get back to me. Today Jan 13 2017. Corporate calls me and says they denied my claim for the hybrid battery and wont assist me on it. I have owned a Ls430, Ls460, and now a Ls600hL. Lexus top flagship. Never thought I would get service like this with Lexus. And its sad to say but this will be my Last and FINALE LEXUS.I will not support a company that cannot support the customers. I stood behind you for a number of years and never asked for a thing. Now when I need assistance you send me to hell. I will continue to share this wherever I can so all long term Lexus customers will know that Lexus isnt Lexus no more. So be prepared for anything. I no longer see reliability with Lexus. Thanks for showing me real customer service Lexus!
I called Lexus customer service over a disagreement I had with the local dealership where I purchased an RCF. After a week, a junior level employee called me back, explained to me that my original customer service contact was off for the day and then parroted the same story I got from the dealership. When I asked some follow up questions he said he was only reading from notes and couldnt answer specific questions. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I suspect that the CS rep that was working my case had the flunkie call me back so she didnt have to deal with me, but of course that is only speculation. I let it go at that although I should have told the junior guy to have the original contact call when she was back in the office.
I am quite satisfied with the variety of models as well as the choice of colors offered. The features offered were top of the line. There were tech advanced and we were happy with what was offered. Given the need and or opportunity we would return to the same place in the future and see about buying an auto from the same place once again. We were also quite happy with the upgrade and personalized options that were offered. We like to get the maximum upgrades that are available because we like our car to reflect our personality and shed a light on our unique and affluent lifestyle. Also, we are happy with the passenger capacity. We are a family of four and it accommodates us very nicely. There is also adequate room to accommodate two other passengers, although, we rarely need the additional space.
Overall, Lexus RX 450H 2013 is a great car. Ergonomics, not so much. Real lack of storage in front seat - not even a place to store sunglasses! But about seven places to put your water bottle. Awful design for convenience. Also, rear seats dont fold flat. Cmon, would it be that hard to do? Gas mileage is so-so, at around 24 high-test. A Santa Fe would do better.
I recently bought a 2014 Lexus LS 460. Whenever it rains or the car is washed and I open the trunk, water drips out of the side of the trunk, and drips water into the trunk compartment. I took the car into to the Lexus dealership and they said it is a design flaw and cannot be fixed. Besides getting the inside of the trunk and contents wet, long term I expect it will cause premature rust and increase the potential for my rear lights to malfunction. Any experience with resolving this issue will be appreciated.
LX 570 windshield stress fracture - Had numerous witnesses in vehicle when I drove over a speed bump. It was then that the windshield cracked. No rock chip evidence. No impact evidence. Lexus is trying to tell me that it was a rock. Of course they will not admit to having any problems with these large windshields but any search will get you a lot of relevant hits. Surface of glass is smooth and there is no indentation.
Please relay my message to the senior management. CAN THIS CAR SURVIVE 50,000 MILES WITHOUT ANOTHER LEAK??? 1) Engine oil leak at 15,000 miles only on May 8, 2013 (after merely 2 years old). 2) ANOTHER 3 LEAKS IN YEAR 2015 ALONE. a) Engine oil leak again on March 27, 2015 (33,802 miles only). b) Less than 2 months, engine oil leak again on May 7, 2015 (35,284 miles only). c) Repeat the 4th time engine oil leak again on Dec. 26,2015 (44,013 miles only). Per all 4 repair service invoices/records provided by Longo Lexus Dealership, California, this is major engine oil leaks problem!!!Had chosen Lexus (also own toyota, bmw, benz autos) at that time owing to its fame of reliability, durability and sleek style. However, it had become a nightmare to me... In addition to the time, inconvenience caused, I basically STUCK WITH IT!!! I CANNOT SELL IT BECAUSE OF OIL LEAK NUISANCE (NO ONE WILL BUY THIS CAR ONCE DISCLOSE OF SUBJECT ISSUE!!!).Additionally, it caused UNSECURE, NON-RELIABLE and MENTAL BURDEN every time driving this car, as I simply tensed and afraid of when this will happen again!!! Not to mention I no longer able to drive this SUV car long distance anymore (initial purpose of buying SUV for comfortable long trip) albeit carrying 44,000 miles only!!! I am extremely, extremely... disappointed, dissatisfied of this ownership. What will be your recommendation of my current awkward situation?!
In February of 2013 I leased a 2013 RX350 from Lexus in Peoria, IL. I kept smelling an odor coming from the vents and took it back to the dealership to fix the problem. They sprayed disinfectant in the vents and brought it back. That was in August of 2013, I could still smell it so they picked up the car again, sprayed again and changed the cabin filter. Still the smell was there! I have called the corporate office and they wont do anything more about it. In September I had to go to doctors office, received 3 shots and my doctor sent me to emergency room, got more shots and they did some blood test. They think I had an allergic reaction, we think because of the mildew. When I told corporate about this they said it was because of my driving habits,???? I have tried everything I know to do. In February 2014 I had ANOTHER allergic reaction, was sent to doctors office and had to get a shot! Was in bed for the whole weekend again. I am only leasing this vehicle and they wont fix it!!
Lexus cars are comfortable. I like the features and the easy accessibility of the car. The leather seats are easy to clean which makes my job a lot easier. The butt warmers are nice and help to keep us all warm during the winter months of the years. Our model specifically can only hold up to five people. However I believe that Lexus makes other models that can hold more people than that. This car suits my family well as there are five of us and we are all able to fit comfortably in the car. The car has a small built and our model is black and sleek. The paint has stayed nice and sharp throughout the course of many years and I believe that it will continue to do so over the next couple until we decide to go to either donate the car or purchase a new one. We are interested in a car with seats that are not leather as the smell bothers my family and the seats always seem to be super hot or cold.
I visited JM Lexus where I leased my NX200. I had a accident about 4 weeks before lease end. I spoke to a manager about the procedure of returning the vehicle if it was damaged. he went into the computer, and stated to me that I had the excess wear and tear plan, and I was covered at $2000.00 per incident up to $7500.00. I explained to him that I was going to take it to my insurance company, and pay a $500.00 deductible, and have the vehicle repaired. He assured me that the plan would cover the damage, and just return the vehicle. I did what he told me to do, and my new vehicle arrived about two weeks later. The night before, I got a invoice from Lexus for $6500.00. I forwarded this information to the salesperson, and he said the damaged should have been covered. After speaking with his manager, it wasnt covered. Problem is now the vehicle was sold at auction, and I cannot put in a claim with my insurance company. I spoke to the Manager at the dealership, and he told me that when the car was turned in the salesman was supposed to inspect it, and he would have told me there was too much damage. That never happened. I told this guy from the get go there was a lot of damage, but he was sure it would be covered. Now Lexus is trying to put me on the hook for the damage, because somebody there dropped the ball. It is just aggravating to me that I was going to put the claim in to my insurance company, and this whole thing would have only cost me $500.00, and I listened to the Lexus representative instead. Looks as though to me the Wear and Tear plan is a scam.
I purchased a 2007 IS250 new...I recently sold it seven years new with only 90,000 miles on it. I was very faithful in the maintenance of my car. I received a notice from Lexus saying if my cars idol changed or seemed different, to bring it in and they would check to see if car stored any codes and if it had they would fix it. Although they never did say what may be causing the misfiring!? My car never stored any codes although it did at times feel as though it was going to die, and after speaking to others about situation, I found out that they too had a Lexus with same issue that never stored any codes. The two people that I know personally and on a regular basis have had their pistons replaced by Lexus at no charge and this is the same thing that was wrong with my car. I did not wait to see when Lexus headquarters would ok my local Lexus dealership to repair pistons in my car. I got rid of car that I should have owned for another seven years and another 90,000 miles!! It is unfortunate that Lexus is sweeping under the rug that these cars have piston issues and that the piston issue can create other issues with the cars. I can write forever about all the other issues that it caused me and two other people I know. If I ever find that there is a class action suit I will be including myself in that suit. I now have a new car and a new payment. My Lexus was paid off when I bought it new. And, of course I shouldnt have a new car or a new payment as again I shouldve owned my Lexus for seven more years and 90,000 more miles!! I did not buy a Lexus and I will never buy a Toyota product again );
After experiencing what I thought was a leak in the sun roof, I found out from the dealership that the SUV had four blocked sunroof drains due to dust, dirt and leaves and a blocked A/C drain caused by a spider making a web. I am in the dealership for all of my regular service checkups and these items are not on the check list of things to look at for each of the required service appointments. I have been told this will cost $9000.00 (this is not in my budget). My insurance company will not pay for this, so I am currently waiting for Lexus Corporate to get back to me. The interesting thing is that in addition to the 3 year warranty, I purchased an additional 3 years for continuity of service. A lot of good that did me.
If you own Lexus ES350 and 300h model from 2013 to 2018, watch your trunk lid. It has design defect and mild wind can bring it down at three time the speed and hurt you. The trunk lid has spoiler which Lexus has never tested in open condition and is hurting many people. Per Lexus this is normal. We are ready to file lawsuits for Lexus. They ignore safety hazard.
I have a 2005 RX330, Garage kept. I am the 2nd owner and the 1st owner took immaculate care of this vehicle. Sometime last year the dashboard started cracking and flaking off in chunks. HELP ME! It looks disgusting and not what you would expect for a Lexus. This is an outrage!!!
My headlight has condensation in it which is a very common problem for Lexus headlights. I called. They want 400 to look at it and over 2,000 for a headlight. How come this issue is not a recall is beyond me. You expect to have a safe and reliable car. But the lights just turn off out of nowhere. I have been pulled over 2 times. Not only do I endanger myself and my kids but other peoples lives too. And you think they would try to help you but no. I was so much happier with my Honda Accord - way better car and way cheap. Never again will I buy a Lexus again. Never!!! Worst customer service ever. And thats just the beginning, so no they do not keep their customers happy at all. I called the corporate and the woman I spoke with was just rude. I should have gotten her name, but I was just so mad. This is just ridiculous.
We bought a RX 330 that is fast and reliable. The technology package is state of the art with everything you can dream of. The car is very luxurious and comfortable too. The appearance is sports utility vehicle savvy and sleek with and a little style, bit of sexy in it. It fits my needs with style and is one of a kind. The inside is spacious and fits the whole family including a dog or two. It is very roomy and comfortable. Their technology package is out of this world. It is suited for every age, and is a perfect family car for all ages. I would definitely recommend this car for anybody looking for beyond luxury at an affordable price.
I bought a 2014 Lexus 350. About a year after I had the car I noticed the leather on the driver seat was getting creases in it. I very seldom have passengers in my car so I only noticed it on my seat. Each time I took it in to be serviced, I pointed it out to the service tech and asked what could be causing it. This is my first luxury car and the first experience with leather upholstery. No one could give me an answer. At any rate it has gotten worse over the past year. I have written 2 letters to Lexus with no response. Finally, the last time I took the car in the service tech said the dealer could not do anything and gave me phone # of Lexus. I have called 3 times to explain the issue, was given a case number and was told a case manager would call me in 1-2 days to discuss. No call. After I called the 3rd time to say I still hadnt received a call from the CM the person I spoke with suggested I send the photos I took of the seats to Lexus along with my case number. Still no response except to say they received it. I spoke with a friend last night who has a 2016 Lexus with the same problem and he has had no luck at the dealer either. Has anyone else had this issue with the leather seats?? I keep a towel on my seat now because it looks so bad. I told Lexus I am very disappointed in their lack of response to this issue as I was always told what a GREAT car the LEXUS and that TOYOTA stands behind their product. Well as far as I am concerned they are way behind in their customer service. Shame on you! I have contacted my attorney to see what he suggests I do. All I WANT IS FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE SEAT.
There were three different models to choose from for this particular make. We decided to go with the second best model because it included the options that we wanted. The exterior is sleek with sharp lines and soft contours. The interior is also sleek. I like the sound system and the navigation system. With our particular model, we decided that we wanted to upgrade a couple of options, particularly the sound and navigation systems. We also decided on the premier leather seats. In addition, we are able to comfortably seat five adults. The capacity was one of our major concerns when purchasing a new car. This model definitely fits our needs.
I love the brand. It has smooth sleek lines, beautiful heavy tires, chrome features, lavish detail, rich and beautiful colors. They are like riding on clouds and make every driver feel like theyre royalty. I feel like a world renowned superstar and the world and roads are my stages. Though it is a luxury car, it seats a full family very savvy and comfortably. Leather seats and plush detailing makes for very smooth sailing. Plus, the cars are very easy to optionalize and upgrade. Every driver can personally make their luxury liner their own. Truly the envy of everyone else on the road.
I bought a 2015 Lexus and found out afterwards that I had to pay extra each and every year for this feature. As if that wasnt bad enough it has only worked about 3 times in 2 years. This year is no different. I have called customer service and been to the dealership and still isnt working. I have spent literally hours trying to get this resolved and was just told again that I would have to call again on Tuesday. I am so fed up. I wish I could give back my car and start over. Never again will I buy a Lexus!
My Lexus car is small black and gray and red from the inside which I think is amazing because of the colors because I dont see a lot of people with the same colors. I feel like it is one of the most beautiful cars in the world just from its appearance. I would not buy any other car that looked different. I think I am the richest person on earth just looking at my car. It works amazing and I think that it is the best car ever and that everyone should buy one someday or you might not be lucky because of its upgrades and personalization options. However, I dont like how there is only 2 seats but I wish there were 4 to 5 to make more people sit in the car of amazingness. I also like how there is two seats because it drives faster and it is more customized.
The Lexus hybrid is really no-brid. It rarely uses electric power but is constantly charging. The first 100 feet under 10 mph will be EV power. That’s all folks! It saves NO gas, and the engine is extremely underpowered.
I have contacted the Lexus service and and went to the service departments in person. They all didnt accept the car. I dont get it. I had the car checked before I shipped it from the States and I did make a complaint about the engine shaking to the service department when I was in New York, Manhattan service center. I had the car checked and the service department told me everything was fine. Now the car is dangerous to drive, engine light is on and the traction light is on. I went to a mechanic here and he said that some cylinders needed to be replaced. Other than that, my drivers side drive shaft needs to be replaced due to the rubber that is wearing off and some kind of liquid is coming out of it, which cost a lot of money and I went to the dealership and they told me that they couldnt even order the parts for me because they would never come. The car has two recalls that needs to be done. The gas pedal keeps getting stuck to the carpet and something that has to do with the fuel, and Lexus is putting my life at risk because I got the car from the States. I really do not understand. The car is still a Lexus and still belongs to Lexus. Im demanding the repair to be done by Lexus company at least from Japan. If you would at least send me an email to someone I can speak to in Japan, I would really appreciate it. The car only has about 9000 miles which is considered still new. Ive asked the Lexus here in Saudi Arabia to at least check the car from the computer to see what the problem is. They refused and told me the codes wouldnt come up because its an American spec car which is really just an excuse because Im 100% sure that it will read all the codes. Please direct me to someones email, just someone who could help me. I moved to Saudi Arabia and had to ship my car because of my work and was transferred here. Im seriously going to look up legal actions against Lexus!
At just over 130,000 miles, my 2002 Lexus ES300 Sedan, which I bought used in 2009, quit running. I had it towed to my mechanic of 14 years. The engine is totally locked up due to oil sludge. The oil had just been changed. There was plenty in the car and it was the color of caramel. The oil my mechanic pulled out of the bottom of the engine is the color of road tar and just about as thick. I serviced my car regularly. He called Lexus and they told him this had been a problem. I’m asking Lexus for a new engine but know it will be a battle regardless of the validity of my claim. Anyone have any advice/recommendation on how to ensure this has a positive outcome for me?
I have owned an 2000 Lexus ES 300 for about 4+ years now and it is very reliable. Leather and other interior pieces are holding up well. Paint is still in good condition, no peeling, considering this car hasnt been garaged. It has been holding up well considering it now a 15 year old car with 201,000 miles on it. Only 1 problem in 4 years is the Traction Control sensor malfunction which is a common problem for this model. Other than that, really happy with the reliability of this car and would recommend it.
Lexus has a wide variety of vehicles across the size ranges, from small and sporty to sport utility vehicles. Everyone knows how nice Lexus look. Its a beautiful vehicle that I am proud to drive. Its shiny, sleek, sexy... sporty and fun and it looks fast. You could upgrade any number of options, drive packages, fuel, sound, wheels, drivetrain, payment, interior and color options... The model I chose has limited passenger room by design, I only need or want room for very few passengers, no desire to be the driver of the bus sized vehicles you can have now.
RX and LX new for 2017 have plenty of innovative extras for driving safety, luxurious interior and shine, electronic power steering, spoke alloy wheels, and customized temp controls. They have ambient lighting and handcrafted trim, eight speed automatic transmission, 5 passenger capacity that have plenty of added head and legroom, entertainment center for a more enjoyable trip and all the loaded extras for comfort and safety. They also have low emissions rating for a greener environment, race inspired detail and all weather drive.
I recently made a purchase of a 2008 RX350, from Meade Lexus of Lakeside. I decided to go with the Lexus, with the hopes of landing a depending vehicle from a company that cared about their customers well being and to make future purchases. Received the vehicle in Aug. and within 30 days needed a new battery, which is not the end of the world, although unexpected. This weekend however, I took my 11 year old son to Chicago for his birthday and the vehicle started smoking and stalled on me on the 94 E expressway. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop only to be told that the vehicle that I purchased 7 months prior, needs a new engine!! I tried to contact the dealership as well as had the vehicle taken to another repair shop for a second opinion, after the second shop, gave me the same results. I can not believe that this dealership is selling unsafe vehicles to the public. I did all of my research prior to this purchase for this to happen to me. I too, cannot believe that I am making a complaint about a brand that I put so much trust into. My next step is to contact the attorney general office about this situation.
Over 6 months ago I got into an auto accident. My car damages included: my wheel hanging off, my door crunched in unable to close, my glove box smashed and completely crushed, etc. During this collision, NONE of my airbags went off, which angered me because I had an 11-year-old and 13-year-old in the car that were not protected. After doing some research in my car, I found out that I had EIGHT airbags in just the front seat of my car. An impact such as this should have caused at least one of the airbags deploying.I contacted Lexus about this when my accident happened (back in August of 2013) and they said they would inspect the car. After they inspected my vehicle they said they would get back to me within a month about the results. I waited a month...then two months and called corporate offices. I was told that someone will get back to me. Three months.. Four months... Five months...SIX months and they have neglected to return any emails of mine or even give me an ounce of respect. My car is over $35,000 and to be treated like this makes me sick!!The damages to my car were over $8,000 including all new module systems in my vehicle because they were found faulty. I have all my receipts about my damages and Lexus refuses to even answer me! When it comes to the safety of my children, I do not allow people to push me to the side. Ive tried to be patient with this business, but they have showed me nothing but disrespect. I now have hired an attorney to help me with this matter!
Lexus Rx350 has defective material in its interior. The dash on our 2008 RX350 has began to crack in numerous places. In other places dash is melting and is sticky to the touch. Took car to Lexus dealership for inspection. Service assistant said that this was a common problem with Lexus. The materials do not stand up to the environment. Lexus refuses to call a recall. They want close to $2,500 to replace it. This car is a big disappointment. This is our second and last Lexus.
I want to complain to my Lexus 570 (2011). I bought it from Al Futaim Motors Company LLC which is in UAE. I had issues with the noise from the car when I change the gear (transmission) from R to D. I asked the workshop (sales manager) at the first service (1,000 Km). They tried to repair it but the sound came back again. Also, the car is now in the workshop for the service (40,000 Km) with the same issue. They are still telling me they will find out the problem to fix it. Today, I took the history report of my car to complain about it in the ministry of economy because I feel as I wasted my money when I bought this car. I am looking forward to hear from you.
My 2008 Lexus Rx-350, the dashboard were cracking and its just only 40,000 miles. And also some of the cosmetic area are started chipping like two side mirror was cracking (clear coated paint) and also the tail back handle has already chipping (clear coat paint) and every time I car wash, the sunroof has also leaking water. But the engine performance were like top of the line. (Acceleration, steering easy to handle - were excellent.)
The 2016 350 was sitting in our shaded driveway for two hours. We came out to drive and noticed the smell of something burning and saw the plastic faceplate had some melting streaks running diagonally across the GPS screen, etc. We took it to our local dealer who immediately began accusing us of 1. leaving it in the sun; 2. using finger nail polish remover to clean the screen and finally, 3. burning a candle in the cup holder. All three are not only false, but condescending in tone. They said it is impossible to melt the screen with the low voltage components inside the dash. They took a picture of the screen sent to Lexus, who denied the claim. They never even checked behind the panel to see if there was electrical damage. So I sent my insurance adjuster to inspect the car at the dealer. He found that catastrophic failure of the in-dash electronics had occurred. I again contacted Sewell Lexus in Dallas, and they told me there was no evidence of any electronic damage. I asked them to check the GPS, switches, etc. as the service manager had not. They didnt call me, but then sent me an estimate for repair exceeding $12,000. I sent my adjuster over a second time and again Sewell claimed it had to be external damage. Funny, there are no tool marks, scratched, or anything that would suggest anything external had caused the problem. Once more Sewell made the assumption that their former customer was at fault doing ridiculous things to our automobile. How can anyone assert a claim when the car that was at the dealership for over two months hadnt even been checked to see if the circuits worked! I havent a clue if this is a one and only situation with Lexus, as this is our third or simply a dealer thats lost sight of his customers. My insurance adjuster insists that the failure caused the melting of the screen and fried all the circuits.
We have an 07 LS460 that was purchased as a certified car in July 2010 with 29,000 miles. I was called around November 2012 when car was in for service about extended warranty. The guy said that he would get with us before certified ran out. We had car in for service in June 2013. They replaced a few items and were told of a knocking noise when braking. Neither myself or the Lexus folks think about the warranty. Now 2 weeks out of warranty and only 52,000 miles on the car, it needs a brake actuator at a quoted cost of 3,000 dollars. They have offered a 50 percent off to fix it. When I look online I see that the knocking noise was this part. This is our 3rd LS and also 1 RX for my daughter. Very disappointed with Lexus. Could be a safety issue and seems to be a problem on the newer LS. After 16 years of having a Lexus, there will be no more. I was told that they would work with me if I traded the car on a newer one, that they could absorb the $1500 in the trade. What a bunch of trash.
All of this is well-documented and all Im doing here is piling on. I have a 2012 RX-350 which is a wonderful car for the most part, but it has a useless nav/phone system that really never works. The phone dumps, saved numbers and it generally sucks. Lexus wont even listen to me when I explain at the dealership (Fresno Lexus), because they either dont care, or know the problem cant be fixed and merely follows the corporate talking points.
My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!
Offered several mid-sized SUVs which is what I was looking for. I was able to test drive three different models in a variety of colors. All models had DVD players, cruise control, automatic windows and were easy for car seat installation. There were some with heated seats and upgrades to Sirius player. Some had special headlights. You can also choose your warranty options. Its easy to fit at least five or eight people and to convert to capacity for more people if needed. Easy to remove third row.
This is my 4th Lexus and I have enjoyed each one. They provide a smooth and comfortable ride with an extremely quiet interior. Service is very quick and I have never returned for an incomplete service. Service and counter personnel very personable and friendly. Over a 13 year period I have utilized 3 different dealers and been satisfied by all.
I purchased new my 2008 IS 250, it now has 48,895 miles including an extended four year warranty that is about to expire. I noticed chunks of the dash and door panels literally start falling out, as well as the material turn to a melty, gooey mess. I reported this each and every time I was at the dealership, who graciously agreed to send the car in for detailing (at their expense) - then later tried to tell me that the car was out of warranty, and that this problem was caused by chemicals I used when I washed my car! It wasnt until I became enraged that they sent my issue on to Lexus-in-the-sky, who came back with what they called a fair, good will gesture..... They would pay for half of the replacement, to the tune of $2800.00, since the damage was not considered a material defect. I have two other cars, neither of which are LUXURY cars, both older, one with +125k miles, and the interior looks like the day the car was purchased. I live in Florida, and granted it is hot - but similarly, other makes, models and brands of cars are not plagued by this problematic inferior, interior dash/door panel material.Lexus is branded as a luxury line of cars, and when I purchased this car, I paid for the REPUTATION that comes with the LEXUS brand - including vehicle design, performance, workmanship, and customer service. What I have gotten is five recalls, one including a new rebuilt engine, one for gas pedal issues, air conditioning problems, and now this continual runaround about a problem that is, continues to be recognized as a wide-spread concern.LEXUS needs to bone up and admit there is a problem and its more wide spread than they let on. They also need to stop calling me about their stupid sign-and-drive promotions. I will not invest a dime into any Lexus vehicle until they make this right.... Or not!
My mother bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350. At 88k miles, she began experiencing issues with her car while driving and brought it to the dealership for an inspection. They told her that there were massive problems with her engine which would cost over $5k to fix. This car isnt even at 100k miles yet so it was incredible that there would be any engine problems. For what its worth, my mother is a very safe, responsible driver and she has never skipped any maintenance on her car. We asked what our options were and they told us that we were past the warranty, so our only option would be to pay the $5k out of pocket. Obviously, we were upset so we called the consumer hotline that they provided us to voice our concerns, and we spoke with a representative named Carlos. He admitted that there were known engine issues with the RX models and said that he would call us back with a solution.A few days later, he called us and said that he would cover only 50% of the parts. He would absolutely not budge even though we told him that Lexus should cover 100% of the parts and labor as this was a known issue. I feel that Lexus sold us a car with a faulty engine and is now refusing any responsibility. At this point, I am seriously considering suing the company and will never buy a Lexus again.
I have a 2005 ES330 car that is certified pre-owned. It has defective back windows that wont go up or down. Its CD player is broken. Theres condensation in headlights. I have had the back windows repaired 3 times. On the 4th visit, they finally replaced the motors, which corrected the problem. I had wasted 3 trips to Lexus, time off from work and finally the issue is resolved. However, now the tint has come off of the back right window. It is apparent, the trouble with the windows being taken out and repaired 4 times has caused this. The CD player has been in for repair also, along with the windows. The CD player is broken, the cover wont open, and will not play. I have been informed by the Lexus Corp. that due to the car being out of warranty, they will not repair it. My argument is the car has been in the service department for the same repairs 3 times, which has never been property fixed. After reading these reviews, I dont think I will ever buy a Lexus again. They have become the Ford of the Japaneese. The dealership, Lexus of Tampa Bay, is a joke. The main headquarters for Lexus is a joke. They both refer me to the other one. I am done. No more Lexus cars. My dream car, that I am still paying for, wont allow me to listen to my CDs. I cant see out of the back right window, and I have been made to feel like I am the scum of the earth by Lexus. Why didnt you treat me this way when I was buying one? I just got two letters from Lexus of Tampa Bay asking me to trade mine in and get a newer one.No thanks, I got suckered by the hype the first time, are they kidding? What a Lousy Lexus Experience!
Lexus offers a wide range of cars. These include sedans, SUVs, and sports cars. There are sub categories within each type of vehicle that generally relate to the size of the car - for example in the SUV category the smallest is the NX, the middle is RX and the largest is GX. Each of these categories also may have sub categories that usually relate to trim level. The Lexus car brand has always stood for a high quality luxury vehicle. Typically each model will include almost all of the features that one would think are associated with a luxury car within the standard price. There are additional packages of specialized features that are grouped logically at more cost - for example a cold weather package would include heated seats, 4 wheel drive, etc. The Lexus RX is a 5 passenger vehicle - two bucket seats in the front and a bench seat with seating for three in the back. There is no third row in this car. Each model has upgrade options that are presented as packages so that you can personalize the options to your needs to a degree. You are forced to go with a package even if you do not want or need everything in that package. That is a drawback to me.
Lexus has small, midsize, and large vehicles. It has hybrid options too. They are very high safety and overall appearance. They also have great customer service. The details on this vehicle are classic so if you purchase a used or new car, you will be satisfied. This company takes great pride in producing luxury vehicles. The buyer can upgrade to meet a variety of personalization such as rack or foot board on an SUV, a sunroof, tinted windows, seat warmers, and wheels. The RX 350 sits 5 people comfortably even if one person is tall. The back seats recline a little to add extra comfort on long trips. The driver has the ability to boost their seat for better visibility.
I have been a loyal customer of Lexus for over 25 years and, generally, very happy with the cars; however, most of them I traded/sold before they were 5 years old. My current car is 2010 Lexus 450H that has less than 75,000 miles and was purchased less than 6 years ago. As usual, I am up-to-date with the maintenance schedule on the car and the maintenance is always performed at the service department of the dealership. A few days back, while driving, I noticed the hazard sign turned suddenly on and check hybrid system was flashing. Among the things that I noticed were the failure of cars cruise control and the SOS light turning red.I immediately took the car to the dealership service department, who diagnosed it as the failure of the airbag ECU. The replacement cost me $995.42. My service consultant at the dealership is a very nice gentleman, who said that there was no specific maintenance for the unit. That suggested to me that the unit on the car was defective and Lexus should be replacing it free of charge, but they did not. I have heard that computer malfunctions are not uncommon on the cars made by Toyota Motors. I am so disillusioned with Lexus that I have decided to take my business elsewhere and never buy another Lexus and, hopefully, convince my friends to do the same.
Ive heard this same story from at least half of the IS owners I know or have asked if they had the same issue. This is unacceptable. I see older Lexi with 200k+ miles with perfectly function Nav screens. Not sure what Lexus is thinking...
We purchased a 2011 Lexus RX 350 in April of 2013. Shortly after we noticed rat droppings inside the car. Every day there was more. We put a mouse trap inside the back hatch and we caught one. In a few days we noticed more droppings and set the trap again. We caught another one. Then, we caught 2 more. Called Lexus in California, they told us to contact the local dealer in Birmingham, AL. We did and he told us they had the Lexus coming in all the time with mice. He said there was no way to keep them out, they were coming in from the bottom. We carried it to a friends tire service and put it up on the rack. There was no place for them to get in under there. With further searching, we found that the rats were building a nest in the fresh air filter. This past week, more droppings, set traps again, caught 2 more mice. We have had 4 Ford Explorers, 3 Chevrolet SUV, numerous other vehicles, trucks galore. We had 5 sons that had vehicles and none of the above or childrens had mice. That is a total of 6 mice caught in this car since May. This seems petty compared to what the previous comments were. It would really be terrible if the mice chewed the leather seats or some of the wiring. It would really be bad if one ran up our leg.
Great selection of cars. Beautiful car with a very nice silver color interior. Great clear stereo sound. Didnt upgrade much because too much extra cost but what I have is great. My kids love it so I would pick it again if I could. Hope to tell friends about this car because it fits a lot.
Lexus offers cars that are very fast and comfortable to drive. I am a fast driver so I would recommend a car from this brand. The appearance of the cars would be defined as beautiful and makes you fall in love. They all have their own unique look. The car is very nice, they have a wonderful shade of color. Because of this they look more beautiful than they really are. It has love and adventure written all over it. If I had a family we would go everywhere in that car. Thanks for the car. The girls go crazy for these cars.
The touch screen on my 2008 IS 250 stopped working. The dealer wanted to charge $3200 for the repair and we were tipped off that this is actually a very common problem with Lexus. I called the corporate office and they would only cover 50% of the cost even though the paperwork literally says malfunction. Since it is out of warranty and there isnt a recall on the navigation system, I was basically told oh well. I have a problem with paying for something that wasnt just normal wear on a vehicle that has had so many recalls already.
As old as my Lexus is, its still one of the best vehicles Ive ever driven. Paint is still good (I do polish it annually), no rust, everything works beautifully. It runs smoothly. It looks good, despite its age. Sleek outside and super comfortable inside. I love my Lexus.
Lexus offers luxury, stability and performance. They have over 3 different versions of each model to choose from and theyre all quality. The distinct appearance and standard features of this car brand include its body shape, how it handles on the road, and the amazing quality of the interior let you know you bought a luxury vehicle. The various upgrade and personalization options include very, very expensive parts. Buying upgrades for these brands put you out of pocket quite a bit of money so its best to just buy the one youre comfortable with and not upgrade parts. This brands passenger capacity is that its the same as every other car brand. If its a four seater, its a four seater. Maybe you can fit one more uncomfortably. But its the same. No special space for more.
Please review this article before considering the purchase of a Lexus as there are fees once a one year. Grace period expires for both the remote start feature and navigation. https://www.thedrive.com/news/18313/lexus-charges-a-subscription-fee-for-remote-start
Showed the service writer Jaime at Pembroke Pines Lexus the center console covering that was cracking and degrading. He wrote up a service order and told me he would contact me in a few days regarding a warranty claim. I called him a week later and he told me that the person that handles warranty claims went on vacation and would be back in a week. I went away and after I returned I called him on February 5th or so. He said he had not heard anything but he would contact the appropriate people and have an answer for me by days end. I told him if I did not hear from him I would be calling Lexus. He assured me he would call that day. I never heard from him.I called Lexus USA and spoke to Ed. He said he would check into it and get back to me by Friday. I missed his call on Friday. He called Tuesday and informed me that as the dealer had told me, the damage as normal wear and tear. I just told him that my family had 4 Lexus automobiles and they would be our last. When you sell a car for $75,000, the interior should last more than 3 years. My previous car was a 2003 Cadillac, cost 1/2 as much and when I bought the Lexus the center console was in better shape after eight years of use than the Lexus is after 3 years. By the way, Ed from Lexus offered to pay for 1/2 the repair. As far as I am concerned the Lexus warranty is only a 1/2 warranty shown by this situation.
This car is wonderful! It is tight, smooth, and quiet. You can get a deal if you are a Costco member. The service is great and you even get free car washes whenever you need it. I have an app that tells me when it needs to be serviced. I dont think I would buy a car that wasnt a Lexus at this point. I am spoiled now!
Although I actually like my 2011 RX 450h, I am extremely disappointed with Lexus from a warranty perspective. Basically, it appears absolutely nothing is ever covered under the warranty. Since I purchased this new vehicle two years ago, I have spent thousands of dollars for required maintenance. Additionally, the tires were faulty from day one and required replacement at $1900 a pop. I cant wait for my lease to end so I can get out of this nicely appointed money pit and go back to BMW, where the service requirements are few and far between - and absolutely everything is always covered under the warranty.
Great vehicle with a ton of features. Few issues, but dealership was quick to repair. A bit on the pricey side, but we got almost all the features available, exceptions are block heater and roof racks.
Leased 2017 GX 460 white SUV. Paint discoloration, and the called “leather” seats are crap. They are stained and the dealer cleaned the seats and now I got pieces missing. I’ve never been so disappointed and upset. So besides the above mentioned. They installed two TV’s on each seat and there’s a huge color difference between the top headrest where the TV are installed and the actual seat. I always owed the TVs that come installed from the manufacturer not aftermarket by Lexus. So when we take the car for the scheduled maintenance now if you need a loaner it takes 3-4 weeks for the Lexus dealership to give an appointment date. To top it out they don’t wash nor vacuum the car.Basically, you are better off going to the Hyundai, Honda or Kia dealership. Pay way less and get excellent customer service and no stress. Trust me Lexus IS way overpriced for the quality. Example. My friends wanted a Lexus just like ours but they started noticing all the defects and they got an BMW SUV. You should see the difference. First in the customer service was excellent and the luxury and technology of the car. Lexus are all outdated and with many issues on quality. There’s something serious going on with the quality control department. Reported all and they promised me back in November, then in December to order me a black on black Lexus. The pigeon died on the way! It’s August and nothing. And we have been dumb enough to recommend family and friends to the torture and they have done business but consideration for us. Watch when my lease is over that I’ve driven that nasty looking car how the black on black will magically appear but to their surprise they lost another customer. Last Lexus that I purchase or lease.
On July 5, 2015 my husband took my car to the Lexus Orland Park, IL dealership to have an oil change. On arriving, the serviceman told him that my car needed other work. My husband already knew that he could not authorize any service on my car without my approval. So my husband called me on his phone and let me speak to the serviceman on his phone. I explained to the salesman that I was headed out of town the following day and did not want to do any other work until I returned. I told him to only do the oil change. He was adamant about my windshield wipers and said that I really need new ones. So I told him only do the oil change and wipers. Minutes later I received an email with a price of $417. I called the serviceman and ask how much was the wipers and why was the bill so high. He told me I needed a 90,000 service and that he went ahead and did it. I told him I did not authorize him to do the 90,000 mile service. He told me that my husband told him to do the 90,000 miles service. He told my husband, after he got off the phone with me that I said to do the oil change and wipers and 90,000 service. So my husband signed for the work. When I called him to asked him why did he do what I did not authorized him to do, he said, my husband told him to do it. After he got off my husbands phone he lied and told my husband that I had authorized the 90,000 miles service and then lied to me saying my husband had authorized the work. I told him I would not pay for it and I wanted to speak to his manager, but his manager said that there was nothing he could do but give me 10% off because the work had been done. These people are frauds. So do not take your cars to them. They will do work you did not authorize and will keep your car if you cant pay. I will be writing to the States Attorney office, they need to be investigated.
My ES 350 dashboard is melting, has a fume coming from the car because of the melting dashboard. Contacted Lexus - we were told, What do you expected, you have got a old car. I would never buy a Lexus in my life again. Lexus is not what it used to be.
I bought Lexus RX 2017 with dent protection and Internal material protection $600 for each. Total $1200 for 7 years. But when it came to a problem. They always find a reasons to deny their service. First claim is the leather wrinkle. They asked for picture of the wrinkle. They claimed it is bubble which is not covered in the policy. Second claim is minor scratch on bumper happened when we move stuff in and out of the trunk, they claimed this is not a dent on metal. So they refused the service again. When we bought the car at Lexus dealer of Cerritos, CA, the salesman said most of internal and external damages are covered.
It has always been my dreams to one day own a Lexus. However, this is not what I intended or expected from such a prestigious and renowned luxury car dealership. Two weeks after purchasing my Pre Owned Certified Lexus ES 350 I have had nothing but major problems with this car, both mechanical and interior issues. The paint on the car is fading and very spotty, the armrest and the leather seats are tearing apart by the day. Typically I am the only one using the car, other than my husband who has his own car, and I do not have any children that would exacerbate the problem. Just recently there was a problem with my trunk latch that was making it almost impossible to close my trunk. I took it to the dealership, and thank goodness it was covered by the warranty.Once I received the car back, about a week later, I noticed the same thing started happening again with the latch, and I also noticed an echo sound when closing the trunk that was not there before they serviced the vehicle. Immediately I contacted their corporate office and told them my concerns, but to no avail. They offered me a voucher that could probably pay for one tire, and just wished me away. I really feel abandoned and betrayed by this dealership, and to some degree, heart broken because this was my dream car. I hope that they can get these current problems resolved without dragging me through a long and drawn out process, and not having to obtain a lawyer to get to the bottom of these issues. If anyone has any suggestions or comments that could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
They have quite a few models to choose from. Only a few were in my price range though. They could use some less expensive models in my opinion because not everyone can afford 50k+. The car is very stylish and sleek, and very roomy both for passengers and storage. It has leather interior, wi-fi, GPS, driving assist, and is great on gas mileage. There is a ton of features and you can upgrade almost everything. It all adds up quick though and gets rather pricey. The passenger capacity is great. I can fit 5 people in my car comfortably with plenty of room to move. Im rather short, but my boyfriend is over 6 feet and he sits comfortably in my car.
I own a 2002 Lexus RX300 - and in 2012 - qt 10 years I had to buy a new transmission - Lexus new of the issue and would not do anything for its purchasers - Will never buy another Lexus and will tell anyone that will listen - Have neighbors that bought same car and experienced same thing - If you know there is an issue - LEXUS - Step up to the plate.
This car (2007 Lexus GX470) has been a treasure to drive. It has never given me any problems. Only in for regular service. Only problem was just recently a minor crack in dashboard. Husband says doesn’t corner well.
The Lexus brand offers small, medium, and large size vehicles for drivers who prefer the best quality vehicles. They have sport utility vehicles with various features to choose from. It has a very classy and elegant look, and it stands out as it is very unique. It is very roomy for times when you are not driving alone but have another passenger with you. The Lexus cars come with space for family and whoever you are riding with. When you are ready to upgrade with Lexus, you are able to choose the way the car looks. You can choose the options and colors you want in the car.
I recently purchased a 2010 RX350 (my fourth Lexus after owning a RX300, RX330, SC430). This has an extremely noisy engine upon start up and for the first 5-8 miles of cold operation. The noise has been identified by several online experts as such things as injectors, timing gears or chain but I believe and just recently confirmed with a Master Lexus Technician that its a poor piston design with their 3.5 L engines. The noise is a scuffed piston noise (indicating too much piston to cylinder wall clearance) and I also believe the piston skirt is too short allowing the piston to rock in the cylinder when it is started cold. I find that the Lexus store explanation that they all do it is not acceptable. I have a GM Duramax diesel that is quieter upon start up than this 2010 RX 350. I am guessing that at some point, the engine will begin to use oil and get louder. I am not sure what I will do as I may sell or trade of the RX350 because it is just unacceptable for this luxury car to sound so disgusting. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone until a proper repair is completed. Probably should see about a class action suit against this engine.
Lexus is aware of frequent occurrences with RX 330 back door 1/4 window molding falling off. It happens for no other reason other than poor design. I had many vehicles in my life, but regardless of age of those vehicles, did not had a case of loosing not damaged body parts. When this happened to my Lexus RX 330, I vent to my Lexus dealership (where I purchased new this vehicle) and learned that Lexus will cover the window but not the labor for replacement as the vehicle is not under warranty. The tiny shiny molding which was not attached in proper way is not made as a spare part- the whole window has to be replaced???I did call the Lexus satisfaction line and a Case manager called me the next day to tell me the same thing - my vehicles body part falling off is not covered under warranty. I asked her what is the next that I will loose while driving. And I thought the LEXUS makes high quality vehicles and will be doing right thing to maintain its reputation. I have two Lexus vehicles, which I purchased new, but after this I dont think I will continue to be their customer.
I purchased a 2013 ES 350 new... was very satisfied until Sept. 24 2016. The vehicle had a little more than 19000 miles when someone failed to yield the right of way and collided with my wife near the front and left driver door while she was driving the vehicle. The damage was extensive and the insurance declared the vehicle a total loss. My concern is that neither of the airbags deployed during the collision. The other vehicle involved airbag(s) did deploy.I contacted Lexus and gave them permission to inspect the data image on the vehicle to let me know why the airbags did not deploy. As of October 21 2016 I have not heard anything from them. I have contacted Customer service several times but did not get any information. The vehicle has been towed to a totaled lot. Not sure how long the vehicle will be available for their inspection. I have owned four Lexus vehicles and have not had any problems. I am now concerned if I replace the vehicle with another Lexus will there be a safety issue. Damage images are available if requested.
Toyota makes models of cars range at different prices. You have Corolla, Avalon, land cruisers, Tacoma, 4Runners, Tercels, Camry, Prius, and Lexus. Features include power steering wheel, nice upholstery, air-condition, windshield wipers, gas saving, spacious, economical car, and smooth driving, sensory or computerized features that the newer model of cars come with.Always keeping up with the oil changes, if I need to take the car to get maintenance. I will take it to the dealership and have the mechanics looked at it. Its spacious and relaxing experience if Im going grocery shopping, picking up the kids at school, going to and from work; or going to doctors appointments. Its the luxury car I liked.
I am on my third IS Model Lexus and like the product. Unfortunately I have found my new 2016 IS 300 AWD stalls or feels like fuel starvation when I sometimes go to make a turn either right or left at low speeds or intersections. It becomes very concerning when you are turning into traffic or across traffic and it feels like you will not make it across the intersections. The yellow flashing engine light comes on but I have notified the dealership 3 times (at Service Intervals) and no fault can be found. Has anyone else experienced similar challenges with their Lexus IS 300 AWD too?
This car (Lexus ES 330) is very good now and has served me well. I have had it new since 2004 and still running like a champ. I have liked this car from the beginning and still do. Its design is not too over the top and theres not a lot of extra bells and whistles. Just enough of a design to keep it simple yet it works. I dont need all the extras, I just need basic transportation and most of all safety is the biggest plus in any car. I believe in safety first and foremost. This car being 12 years old still has some of the goodies. It has the sun/moonroof, lots of airbags and antenna in the window vs. actual antenna that you see on cars. Its a 5 passenger car and has great sound from the stereo and many speakers too. It also has leather seats heated for your comfort, dual thermostat for the heater or air conditioner and lots of trunk space you can open from the inside of the car.
I had an engine replacement done, due to the oil sludge issue. Corporate Lexus paid for 75% of the repair, with a used engine at a Lexus Dealer. Upon return of the vehicle, I was having major steering issues. I took the car to my non-Lexus mechanic. The rack was loose, and moving all over the place. He attempted to tighten and ended up replacing, but advised to take the car back to dealer as; 1) he felt the rack replacement was due to faulty work and; 2) there was no rubber bushing in the front of the vehicle. I took the car to a more local Lexus dealership, prior to even discussing the situation with me, they called corporate and left a message. They felt the car was dangerous, and there was a bracket missing from the engine department, and the engine was moving. The only response from corporate is that, this is a labor issue. I took the car back to the original dealership, and was told nothing was wrong with the car, other than the wrong rack. 1 person told me the rack was too long. Another person at same dealership said the rack was too short, but perfectly safe! The engine moving was just 1 of those things that happen, changing or (evidently checking) the mounts are not part of an engine replacement job, but they would call the dealership, to inquire what was meant by the missing bracket. Obviously, the call was never made. Now, I am having issues getting the car fixed, because honest people wont touch the car, because they do not feel that I should be paying for repairs. Now what?
I am an owner of this model mentioned in title and did not know what I was getting myself into when purchasing this vehicle. Should have done further researches. Anyway, we learned from mistake. This model is well known for his faulty ABS actuator and Lexus would not want to replace it saying that you are out of the warranty time frame of 5 months (Despite the very low mileage that you have), when they know for sure the car was made with a faulty part (which is why they extended the warranty on it in the first place). That is very low coming from Lexus. They are supposed to be one of the world class customer service especially considering the price of their product. Like I said, Ive learned my lesson. Last Lexus car here.
Purchased a NEW GX460 from a local dealership. Purchased the vehicle based on the companys perceived quality and willingness to stand behind their product. After 2-3 months of purchasing the truck the leather seats were bulging and buckling significantly. Dealership acknowledged the problem and replaced the leather on the rear seats. One month later, the front seats are now worse than the back seats. Both the dealership and Lexus Company will not stand behind product. In fact, the dealership suggested that this is a common issue and sent me pictures of other new trucks with the same problem. Wish I would have known that before purchasing the $50K+ vehicle. This is the third and last Lexus that I will ever purchase or recommend.
I am an owner of Lexus RX 400h. The manufacturing year of my Lexus is to be seen in the attached figure: September 2007. It is extremely interesting that the curtain and side did not open airbags when my car crashed over. However, the commercial materials and specifications issued after September 2007 wrote about a protection system of 360, according to which curtain and side airbags open automatically in case of car crash over. After years of research it was confirmed and the representative of the manufacturer recognized, as well that no RX 350, 400h manufactured and approved in Europe contains such a system. This way Lexus Europe misled its customers in the issued commercial materials. Lexus Europe is silent disposing, no recall as it is hard to find a remedy for this problem. As a lonely fighter I brought an action against Lexus Europe for its default. If you have such a car, or you are interested in this issue, you are free to join me here.
My 2007 Lexus 350 right front headlight has had condensation since the time I purchased the vehicle for my wife in November. I am a used car dealer and have always had a preference for the Lexus line due to the quality and customer service. When I contacted our local Lexus dealer (Mcdermott, where I service my Lexus inventory and my personal es330) they indicated that the warranty had just expired in November but they felt Lexus would give me some compensation, if not honor the warranty. After I had the car inspected I was contacted by Lexus and they said, quite frankly, they denied the claim and that was it!! Do not bother to discuss the matter further, that was it. Now I am faced with a bill of $700+ for a problem that Lexus has acknowledged. Is this any way to be treated by a customer and a dealership which specialized in Lexus line?
They had various models that I was interested in with various trim level for each model. They could have more models, but what they had was adequate, even if it wasnt huge. Their cars are high quality and the prices are reasonable. They use high quality parts in their car, and their cars are very reliable, i.e. good value for the price paid. There arent many upgrade options and personalization available. They only have a few trim level that you can choose from which bundles in the various options. I would prefer more ala carte selection so that I can choose only the options that I want and not have to pay for some options that I dont really want. The model I was interested in all seats 5 passengers comfortable. There was plenty of interior room as well as cargo space to carry both people and stuff. It could be tight if all passengers are large.
Overall, our Lexus has performed very well. But, I do have a few minor complaints. First, the paint on the Lexus is very soft and chips easily. The dealer told me that was because of EPA paint requirements. Funny, my Ford which has more abusive use than the Lexus doesnt have paint chipping. I found out too late that there is a clear coat they could have installed over the front to protect the paint. But then, why should I have to pay extra to keep their paint from chipping. Second, very early on, I noticed a minor clicking sound in the engine. Sounded like a lifter on an older car, but only when its cold. I took it in and they kept it overnight but couldnt hear it. Over the years, its become quite a bit louder and when the engine is cold it sounds like a diesel. I just turned over 100,000 miles on the car and other than brakes and tires, its been painless.
I purchase a new 2018 Lexus 350RX three weeks ago. I am extremely disappointed in the Navigation System. First, it seems to take several minutes before the car connects to the service. I asked for direction to a well known business, and was told they could not find it. Please hang up and try again. I tried again, this time they could not find the business, but worse they could not locate my car. Asked if I was near the airport! No it was not. What if this was an emergency and they can’t find me!Yesterday, asked for directions to a Civic Arts Theater, they had the correct address but the nav. system took me to a residential, dead end street. I could see the theater but could not get to it. It wasn’t even the correct street. Again, asked for a restaurant by name - it took me to a location on a freeway. I could see the restaurant from the freeway, and eventually found it. Now, I use Waze. This system doesn’t come close to OnStar.
In 2008, we purchased a new 2008 RX-350 from a Portland area Lexus. Prior to purchasing the vehicle we spent months researching the Lexus brand, reliability and customer satisfaction. We are over 3 hours away from the closest Lexus dealer. Having heard and read mostly good reviews, we opted to purchase the vehicle described. We have taken excellent care of the vehicle and all of our maintenance has been maintained current by our only local Lexus family Toyota dealership in our area. The vehicle has never been in an accident. Seven years later we have had several unexpected repairs required to keep the vehicle running. First was the NOC sensor (slightly under $1000). Second was the rack and pinion (slightly over $1000). And the latest was a transmission replacement. The vehicle is just outside the powertrain warranty. The total costs of these repairs has been over $7200. Even the local Toyota service representative said this should not happen with this car.I have contacted the Lexus goodwill assistance number and they agreed to pay for the parts for the latest repair. While that is good of them, it is my opinion that the loyalty of Lexus belongs to their company rather than their customers and they certainly choose not to stand behind their luxury product. It is disappointing Lexus does not show the same loyalty to its customers when excessive repairs are required to what should have been a more reliable vehicle. I would like others to be aware of the Lexus quality of service and loyalty and recommend that you buy a car from Honda/Acura whom we have had excellent service from and been shown truly good loyalty and certainly stand behind their product.
I just purchased a 2017 Lexus RX-350. When driving it home, I felt an extensive vibration (exhaust drone noise vibration issue) and a transmission lag problem. Initially, I thought it might be the highway. Ultimately, I felt it on all roads. I brought the car back to Lexus service and they told me that these are known Lexus problems with no solution. Upon further research, I discovered that these problems also existed in the 2016 model.Lexus sales management explained to me that this problem was due to Lexus extending the length of the vehicle coupled with a higher horsepower engine, HUH??? I am in the process of speaking with Lexus customer satisfaction regarding this issue. I would not recommend buying this vehicle unless you are sure that your car does not have this problem.
I bought a new RX on Saturday and it was probably the easiest and fastest experience I have ever had buying a new car. I waited about 5 minutes for the receptionist to get me a salesman (Josias) who was really nice and helped me out with everything. I give him lots of props because I am such a hard person to deal with. Anyway I am so happy to for my new RX. Cant wait for family trips on this baby.
Lexus has many models. Mid-size to luxury to SUV. They also have fuel-efficient & eco-friendly cars. I have a ES 250 2009. I use it for work and travel daily. Standard features - a/c, electronic windows and seat warmers. I have a mid-size that is very room and fits 5 adults. You can get a full size SUV for more room. There are also many options to upgrade. For example: satellite, eco-friendly, customized leather seats.
I just move from the mainland to Oahu. Did not think to call Lexus prior to moving in regards to my navigation system. When my car arrived I did call Lexus to find out how I could upgrade my system since it did not work here and the person I spoke with not only was just concerned about my issue, but probably told me there wasnt anything that Lexus could do about it. So now a blank box in the middle of my console and no help from Lexus to guide me to how I can fix my problem. I am so very very disappointed - not only that GPS does not work, but the lack of concern regarding my issue was absolutely appalling. Boo on Lexus customer service.
Before I begin my complaint I would like to say the car drives very well and is very sporty. I get a lot of compliments on the vehicle, then they say why is that peeling like that? My Email correspondence with Lexus about my issue: I have a 2006 GS300. I recently noticed my molding along the front windshield that runs along the top to the windshield beginning to PEEL. Really unbelievable for a luxury car. It is embarrassing and damaging to the Lexus brand to have something like this occur AT NO FAULT of my own to this vehicle. I was at the local dealership on a separate issue and was told the roof drip molding was $763.67, absolutely unbelievable. Total repair cost $1200. Why would this peel like this? This is my second Lexus. I had a LS430 before this. I have by far had more issues out of this vehicle than any others I have owned. I am just blown away and I need Lexus to stand behind their brand. I would like the roof molding repaired. This is just ridiculous to have an issue like this on this type of car.The response from Lexus: Thank you for contacting the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department regarding your 2006 GS 300, Vehicle Identification Number **. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. As an automotive manufacturer, Lexus feels its warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, and demonstrates faith in the performance and reliability of its product line. Lexus also realizes that product failures can occur on any vehicle at any time, and regrets any inconvenience this may cause. In an effort to be sensitive to the expectations of Lexus customers, we review matters on a case by case basis when a product failure occurs outside the warranty period. We have examined all information pertinent to your request for assistance, including the nature of the repair, mileage on the vehicle, and the warranty expiration date. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the repair of the front windshield moldings. We apologize that this may not be the response you hoped for. If you require further assistance, please contact the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Time.My final response: First off thank you for your time and attention to my concern, however I am not pleased with the decision. I see now purchasing a second Lexus was a mistake on my part. I understand Lexus has the right to not stand behind their product and I have the right to not purchase their product. I understand CLEARLY from the discussion from my service advisor that I purchased a USED vehicle not a new one. However as I stated I purchased a used Lexus with a verifiable service history. In fact it was a Lexus certified vehicle. I purchased a used Lexus, not a used Hyundai, Mazda, Chevy, Honda or Ford. Which by the way has a more comprehensive warranty than a Lexus. 5 years, 7 years, and lifetime on certain parts. And cost far less on the initial purchase. Now a Lexus as stated in consumer reports has a better resale and loan value. So I suppose there is the trade off.But as I stated on the outset I will not be purchasing another USED Lexus product certified or not. I will however let the message board know about my experience. I will also let anyone know about Lexus products/customer service and if the paint begins to peel for no reason, out of the blue it’s your issue. Lexus customer service will stand behind the small issues but when it comes to anything costly you’re on your own. I wonder if the door falls off next or the spoiler blows off while driving, the bumper just comes unhooked for no reason, my seat brakes apart… I mean really whats next. Even though it’s a luxury car, it’s not quality built - these are things that should not happen to this type of car. This email may not mean much in the grand picture. I am just one consumer, but I will exercise my right as a consumer. My wife and I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Audi, and Infiniti. We never had any issues like this to occur. Lexus wants nearly $1200 for a piece of plastic molding!!! Ironically I have never heard of these things happening with a Toyota, only with a Lexus. A Lexus may look good but the quality is another subject.
Starting in 2008 when I received a notification from Lexus stating that my dash had issues that they knew about (Hazing, dull, tacky and cracking) and maybe recalled in the future. They would notify me of such. My dash was dull, hazy and tacky at the time. I waited and got no such notification. 2012- I called McGrath with was one of the dealerships (they have 3 locations) I purchased it from, and asked if they had a recall on my 2004 GX470 for dash issues that were mentioned to me before. They said no and nothing more, even though at the time there was a customer support for it that I had no knowledge of. So I figured I was on my own, not knowing if I knew about the customer support and brought it in they would have replaced my dash.2021- I get in my Lexus and the dash is cracked from left to right all the way across. I am not happy, as my car has been garage kept all this time and well kept. I call McGrath and after lengthy discussions and repeated calls am told they sent 2 notifications for the dash issues and 2 notifications for an airbag module recall, none of which I ever received. They said there was a customer support for the dash from 2010-2017, but that it was over and there was nothing they could do for me. I said that would be ok, had I been notified, but since I was not that they should replace my dash on them. Once I found out about the airbag recall, I had it taken care of by them in 3 days from being told over the phone. I think if they had sent me a notification that they would replace my dull, hazy, tacky, cracked dash at a cost of $1,705.00 I would have jumped on that, dont you?I continued up the corporate management chain, only to spend a lot of time to get the same answer. They did, however, change the statement that they sent 2 notifications for the recall and 2 for the customer support for the dash to 1 for each. I went up as high as the V.P. for customer support and called 3 different times, left messages and never got a response back. I then went to the states attorneys office and filed a complaint there. After several emails they sent to Lexus and months of waiting, I was told they said the same thing. So now Im writing this complaint review to let everyone know how they treat their customers. Still not happy. Dont think its fair to be treated like this from a Big Corporation, just because they are big and powerful and think they can get away with it. I would like a new dash, Lexus. I have all the documentation on paper, but you can just look in your customer complaint fees and youll find it there. I hope this helps someone out there.
We feel that we have been distorted in buying my wifes first new car, We drove 3 hours to buy our Lexus at Lexus of Lansing and they sold us the ceramic coat/scotch guard. They did not complete/do the ceramic coat and over sprayed the scotch guard which left dot marks all over the inside. They were done in 20 minutes with the ceramic and when we noticed what happened tried to call. Manager refused to talk to us. We talked to sales manager. They said they were all wrong and sent us to dealer near our house Lexus of Orland who then was told by the Lexus of Lansing dealer again to try to deceive us to do a butler. We believe we again were being decepted. Lexus of Orland agreed to do the ceramic for Lexus of Lansing and when we picked up our new car had scratches and swirls all over the car. Lexus of Orland refused to do anything. The manager said, You did not buy it here. We can not help you. We had to take it somewhere else and pay thousands.
Excellent appearance with a sport car performance. Unique appearances with sleek interior and exterior designs with comfort. Quality materials and the designs are totally different from most vehicles. Features everything you want and more in a vehicle such as navigation systems, park assist, blind spot feature, leather seats etc... Comes with all the latest features and the value of all these features is a good vehicle for the money and outperforms most others in its category. It gets better and better. Great car with good gas mileage and built to last. The performance on road is awesome and delivers in all areas you would like and love. Totally happy and recommend highly. Once you try a Lexus you will understand the feeling. Offers other variety of cars such as the e and g series that perform just as well. Always a very smooth and gratifying ride. It has the most comfortable capacity whether it is a two seat vehicle or a full SUV. It is roomy enough to suit most passengers but if you choose the IS or a smaller vehicle which is normally for two passengers you will be fine and comfortable.

Lexus offers several hybrids and sedans and many other models for every taste. There are family and sport models as well. The cars have a very attractive look. Not too flashy but sleek. Sound system was excellent, comfort level was excellent, included GPS and other electronic assist features. Some upgrade options existed but I found the models that were available to me to be fine. There was a sound system upgrade that I considered but I was happy with the sound system that was standard. Plus theres plenty of room for four people. Ive never sat in the back of my vehicle but I have ridden with my wife in the back of a friends similar model and found no issues. Overall, a fine purchase.
Bought a used 2004 Lexus RX 330 and 3 months later dashboard began cracking. I was told warranty does not cover the dashboard, and cost to replace it will cost $4000. Please advise!
Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?
