2017 Lexus GPS - Queuing up the GPS the radio volume works properly and quiets down so you are able to hear the request. However when giving you instructions the radio remains playing and doesnt quiet down. As such you cannot hear the instructions because the radio continues playing. This causes mass confusion & almost caused an accident several times. Piece of junk. Contacted Lexus. They offered to buy me a Garmin!! They know about the problem however they havent fixed it. Bottom line this is the last Lexus I will ever buy. Beautiful automobile but terrible company to deal with. Product is defective and extremely dangerous!

Six months ago, I bought my 2007 Lexus ES350 from the Lexus of Naperville. This is a Certified Lexus Car. When I bought the car, I was told that nothing goes wrong on a Lexus. But everything has been going wrong in this car. I have had to take it to the dealership three times with various problems. One of the times, the transmission on the car had failed and had to be replaced. This is the most ridiculous thing to happen on a Lexus at 35000 miles. I have always been a Nissan customer and have 3 Nissan vehicles, at home with one of them at 185000 miles; nothing has ever gone wrong in them. This time, I thought I would give Lexus/Toyota a chance and it has failed from all my expectations. Being afraid, if when this car would break down next, is a very stressful at this time. Please let me know how you guys can help with this purchase of mine, so I can have more stress free nights. If you need more info on the vehicle, please email me and I will be happy to send it out. I will also be writing to the consumer board, on how I have been cheated to buy a certified vehicle that breaks down every few months.Below is some of Art ** from Lexuss responses to my complaint: Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. In circumstances that require our attention, we will assist in the resolution process. Thank you for providing us with your comments and concerns with your 2007 ES 350. We apologize this vehicle has not met your expectations. We design our vehicles with our customer ownership experience in mind and it is through correspondence such as yours that we are able to continually improve our products. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts and to provide us with your view. Please be assured that your feedback has been documented at our National Headquarters.

I have 2 Lexus cars, one 2007 ES 350 and one 2005 RX 330. As several Lexus customers are experiencing, I too have a leaking rack and pinion on my RX 330. With just 60,000 miles plus. I found this problem when the service adviser inform me about this problem. I was surprised that this so-called quality luxury car will give us some problems at a low mileage. I just have my oil change last month and quoted me about $1,800 to repair. What a quality car we have to just spend this much for a low mileage and my wife drives this one from home to work and vice versa. Lexus should do this repairs at no cost to the customers if they want to claim that their vehicles are built with a seal good quality and workmanship and recall this vehicles because there are so many Lexus owner out there who are having the same problem. This issue should be taken seriously before anything else and serious things happens. I will never recommend Lexus to my friends so they will not experience this kind of dilemma I am experiencing and maybe patronize so other vehicles.

I have owned two LEXUS ES since 2001 and have had excellent experience with each. My first was a 1998 and was finally totaled by a hit and run driver in 2016 but had 275000 miles on it without a single repair to the engine or transmission. I serviced as recommended but nothing broke on that car. We have a 2007 now with all options and love this car too. So far at just over 100k miles, we have had mice eat some wires under the hood and the VSC, traction and check engine lights have remained on since repaired and we are not sure why. Also the new car has been hacked and cant figure out how to solve. To those who complain about paying annual to use features, I say dont buy luxury if you cannot afford it and every car has additional features to pay for! OnStar Satellite radio, etc. Overall Lexus is an affordable car at new, used prices so no complaints here! Also one thing about Lexus of the so many things I love is that there is NO road noise!

Every statistic and fact out there indicates that service gives any company a competitive advantage, and the lack of it can be the demise of the business. When did money become first over the customer? When did customer service get so bad? I didnt expect this from Lexus. Especially since Lexus takes proud in their service and their name. I called customer service because I was told to by the service manager at my local dealership. Only with the intention of them helping me with a solution to my problem. My SD card slot cover is missing. Unfortunately for me Lexus doesnt sale this part individually. You have to buy a new stereo which cost $2389.00. After a few days I was told by my case manager that they find a way to help me and the dealership would be contacting me. A few minutes later she called back and said that she was told to advise me to go to a pick and pull and remove the part from a damaged car. I was truly upset and belittled at this point. So I asked for a Supervisor. The Supervisor called me back and welcomed me to the Lexus family and asked me how she could help. I explained to her what happened and she explained that the part wouldnt be covered under warranty. She called back and stated she talk to the service manager at the dealership and since I bought a used I was responsible for the missing part. Ok, thats exactly what you told me yesterday. I told her I wanted to know who advised me to go to pick and pull. She was more focused on my car being used then helping me. My car is still under warranty. Its still a Lexus what does it matter if its use? When I asked her for the service managers name she couldnt even tell me who she talked to. Which tells me she didnt look into anything. I called the dealership and the service manager said they would never recommend anyone to pick and pull. I truly believe that the service manager didnt his best to help me. I called the exclusive office to see if they could explain to me who advised me to go to pick and pull. Days later I finally got a callback. I was told that it wasnt nothing in the notes that stated that I was advised that. I asked if the calls are recorded if it could be pull for review. No call was recorded she said. How funny is that? So did I just make this all help?? Again no help!! The people that I talked to have Very Poor Customer service skills and are in need of a lot of training. I never got an apology for being told that the dealership would replace the missing part by mistake. Whats the point of having a customer service department if they cant help the customer but only make things worse. Customers want an easy experience. No hassle and no friction. Customers want to deal with knowledgeable professional people. Customers want a friendly experience. People want to be treated like people. After all, they are people – not account numbers. Use customers’ names whenever possible. Look for opportunities to build rapport and break the ice. Show that you care. That’s what friendly people (and businesses) do. Unfortunately you wont get this from Lexus.

I have a Lexus GS and noticed the roof molding peeling. I Google and discover it was a common problem. My windows and door locks stopped working. For a luxury car I expected much better reliability. I have 3 Toyota cars and only my older ones were OK. I have switched to Honda now and been very happy. They repaired the paint and windshield visor on my 2008 Civic which is 7 years old under warranty. At least Honda takes pride and responsibility for their cars. I now only buy Honda.

Me and my brother were driving from oregon to california. He was in a Lexus 2014 IS 250. We were going down the 5 freeway around 65-70mph when I saw his brake lights turn on and he lost control of the car. Before he hit the division line you could see how the brake lights were on but the car didnt stop, it just burned wheel and then he knocked down the division pole going an average speed of 30 mph - where he went on the opposite side of the freeway, where he was hit by a semitruck, leaving him in the hospital and the death of our pet.

I brought my wife’s 2002 in for regular service to Palm Beach Lexus. It needed tires and some maintenance, which I authorized. After doing the initial work that I had authorized for around $2,500 they sent me an estimate for approximately $8,500 for items they said also needed repair. One of the items they claimed was faulty, was the engine mounts. Since the car only had 66,000 miles on it, I found that hard to believe since they had replaced the engine mounts previously when the car had about 38,000 miles. My wife and I have been Palm Beach Lexus customers for around 20 years and we have purchased 4 Lexus SUVs from them. We have had good service up until 2-3 years ago when they changed service managers, since then the service has gone downhill. We then took the vehicle to an independent repair shop to see what additional service was actually needed. They came to the conclusion that 50% of the estimate that Palm Beach Lexus gave us, was not at all necessary. They claimed the engine mounts were in like new condition and many of the other items on the estimate were absolutely not necessary. I obviously was upset and called Lexus Guest Experience Center and spoke to Eric ** a case manager. He said that since the vehicle was out of warranty they couldnt and wouldn’t do anything to help and he did not seem at all concerned that the Lexus dealership was inflating estimates. He said since we were good Lexus customers he would give us a $1,500 three month Good Will Offer to purchase or lease another Lexus. I received and filed the Good Will email offer because I was planning on turning in my 2016 RX450H for a new vehicle. Two months later I started shopping for a new Lexus at a different dealership because I was not about to use Palm Beach Lexus. When I looked at the Good Will Offer the expiration date was dated the same date I spoke to the case manager (Eric **). I again called Lexus Guest Experience and ended up speaking with someone else. I told that person I was very disappointed that no one ever followed up on my original claim regarding the false estimate I was give from Palm Beach Lexus. And to make matters worse I was also given a Good Will Offer that expired in one day. That person told me I had to speak with Eric ** the original case manager and he would call me back. Eric ** called me back a few days later and seemed to have a bad attitude. I told him I was in the process of leasing or buying a new Lexus and would appreciate it if they could extend the offer. He said the Good Will Offer was only good for 3 months and he would not extend the offer. He said when the offer expires they would review it. Obviously, I was not very happy with his response. A few weeks later, I found a new 2019 Lexus RX450H at J M Lexus that I was planning to get, so I called Eric ** to get the Good Will Offer authorized. It took him a few days to get back to me and when he did he said he wouldn’t authorize the Good Will Offer until after I purchase the new vehicle. I told him that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak with someone else. He said he is the only one that makes that decision. I told him I was going to write a letter to Lexus Headquarters and he said go ahead, but it’s just going to come back to me. After all this I have no intention of ever purchasing another Lexus.

I was sitting in traffic and heard a pop. The next morning the interior lining in between the glass had a long separation in it. Took lexus IS 350 to lexus dealer and was told that a rock caused the break. Well, there is no chip in the glass but there was a chip on the top of the roof that had taken a large chip out of the paint. The hit was in alignment with the latch where the top fits into the windshield area...of course being a female, it was clear that the repair manager was right and I was wrong... we are treated different even in 2015. There is no hit on the windshield and due to my experience as an insurance agent for 30 years and having taken glass repair classes, I strongly feel the cause is a stress break caused by the roof structure and the design where the convertible top meets the windshield. The corporate office is to check with the service manager...hear what he says. Now really do you think he will change his story??? I ask that but got the standard answer...he is the service manager. I expect nothing but a run around even after being a loyal Lexus buyer of 5 Lexus....will never buy another Lexus unless they admit that stress cracks do happen and this is one. Beware of Lexus cars...run.

I had an oil leak under my 2003 Lexus GX 470. I was told it was from the transfer case and electronic actuator. The cost to repair would be $2,000 because it required 20 hours of labor to replace a seal. I told them to forget it. I went on the Internet and found similar problems other owners were having--same type of $2,000 charge.I found one person who said that he did the repair himself, described the procedure and took pictures. It was a simple O-ring replacement in the electronic actuator. I crawled under my car, took my own pictures and compared them to his pictures. The leak looked similar. I took the instructions and pictures to a local repair shop, not Lexus.I went over the information with the owner and he said it looks pretty simple. He put my car on a lift, raised it, removed 3 bolts and slid off the actuator. The O-ring was bad. Lexus did not have an O-ring in stock but Toyota did, which was the same part number. The O-ring was $5.00. Lexus was probably charging $20.00. He replaced the O-ring and reinstalled the actuator in less than one hour. This $2,000, 20-hour labor job took one hour and cost me just $85.85. Now, that makes me feel good but very angry at the same time, knowing how I could have been ripped off. I just want to let the public know that you should do some investigation on the Internet before making a high dollar commitment. You might find an answer that will save you thousands of dollars.

I am the original owner of a 2008 GS350. I bought a Lexus because they had a reputation for high reliability. My car certainly has not lived up to that reputation. I have had tons of little problems but with only 62,000 miles on my car the engine blew up while on the freeway and 12 miles from any service. I had a headlight that wasnt working and it cost me $2200 to repair it because my ballast was faulty and they require you to replace the whole light assembly (lenses, plastic parts, etc.). What an insane expense and an environmental disaster. Lexus Customer Satisfaction (lack of satisfaction?) basically did nothing to compensate me or fix the problem. I will NEVER buy another Lexus. I highly recommend that you also stay away from any Lexus. They are certainly not the company they used to be.

Lexus IS250 - I bought my car in 2011. Since then, there have been multiple issues for which Ive needed to take the car in for repair: wobbling wheels, air leak due to poor tire-rim adhesion, several times in to have the battery replaced then finally learning I need a new alternator. The issues with Lexus are: lack of doing a proper inspection at time of sale, multiple problems with car, lack of doing a proper diagnosis/repair job, profound staff turnover, subsequently leading to my not knowing anyone at the dealership anymore. Whenever I call the service department to speak to someone, either there is no answer at all or I have to leave a message and then call back because no one has returned my call. I want to sell my car asap, but no one will buy it because of its enormous repair history. I complained to Lexus of Ann arbor before that this car is a lemon, and there isnt anything that has been done about this. In summary, I will never, ever buy another Lexus, nor will I recommend anyone buy one. if Lexus did the right thing and bought my car back, that might change this equation, but it is fairly obvious they dont care about satisfying customers like me; rather, they merely wish to push a new sale.

Im very disappointed on how Lexus is handling the recall on my NX 300 2019. I felt that no one in either dealership or Customer Service are willing to assist us. Currently they only providing a $35 a day rental car to replace my NX 300 until Lexus figure out the problem and find the resolutions. First Lexus should have not sold any cars that are not quality controlled and tested. Currently I have to settle to drive a Ford while paying for a Lexus car; this does not make any sense at all. The least Lexus can do is to provide us with another Lexus car that are safe to drive.

I purchased a 2018 Lexus in December and was told by the dealer that it came with Lexus Enform which came with a booklet of complementary services. I signed up for Lexus Enform along with the complimentary trial of Sirius radio and WiFi. The WiFi subscription is offered through Verizon wireless as mentioned on both Lexus Enform and Verizon’s website. The free trial online sign up instructions on Verizon’s website did work and I then called the number listed on their website which is Lexus Enform who then routed me to Verizon for sign up. I spoke with a sales member at Verizon who stated he was signing me up for the free WiFi trial offered by Lexus Enform. After signing up in January I never received a bill or email from Verizon but was shocked when I received a collection notice from Verizon in April, who claimed to have billed me for three months of service. I called everyone, the dealer, Lexus Enform and Verizon to ask why was I billed for a complimentary service and how they will fix the problem. They all blamed each other for the issue and have not received a solution. Lexus Enform confirmed that the service is complimentary for a year but is unable to fix the Verizon issue even though it states on the website the service is provided by Verizon. Verizon confirmed that I was signed up incorrectly for the complimentary service and refused to help me. I’m currently waiting for a call from Lexus Enform customer care for a response.

In June of 2014, I leased a new 2014 Lexus GS350 F-Sport. Well starting around 1700 miles the car started having issues such as warped rotors and the rear power sunshade decided when to retract and deploy on its own. Then a couple of months later, the real issues started with the car. I would go to get into the car but it wouldnt start. The engine would act like it would turn over and start but it wouldnt. Sometimes it took up to 10 tries to get the car started. Sometimes it just would go to accessory mode without even attempting to start. So needless to say, the car has been back and forth to the dealer for multiple electrical problems. Here are the biggest examples: Obviously, the non-starting issue. The power retractable steering wheel and power seat took me on a wild ride while driving down the road. The power rear sunshade still has a mind of its own. The Lexus Parking Assist senses things are there when nothing is actually there and then sometimes they decide not to work at all. My Navigation System crashing and rebooting while driving. Horrible squealing with the brakes, etc. The car has been in and out of the service department for all the electrical issues and they cant find the reason for the car not starting or any of the other electrical issues. The car only has about 7600 miles on it and its currently in the shop since May 11, 2015. Im getting quite annoyed and concerned that Lexus would produce a $60,000 vehicle with these types of problems. They are known for their reliability, craftsmanship, safety, and state of the art cars -- I beg to differ. I am just waiting to hear back from the dealership to get the next excuse of why they couldnt fix the car. Needless to say, this is my first and last Lexus. I just want Lexus or the Lexus dealership to buy back this horrific lemon of a car and give me my down payment back. There are better options out there.

I bought Lexus LX. Im having problem with the radio. The sound going up and down. I ask the dealership have they had problem with this. They said yes. It is the amplifier. I would have to place it. I did some checking on the web. It is going bad because where they put the amplifier under the driver seat it is getting too hot so it goes bad. They not trying to figure out what the problem is and to solve the problem. I had a lot of cars. Never had problems with the radio. If I spend the money to replace the amplifier it most likely go bad again. This is not right.

Do not bring your car tiki the Lexus of North Miami for service! Brought my car in to have the recalled dashboard replaced. When I picked my car up, while driving home, which is about 10-15 minutes away, I noticed my brake light was on and before I could get home my car cut off and would not start. I immediately called Lexus of North Miami and was told by the service advisor that they did nothing wrong and I would have to bring my car back to the shop. I told him how and that my battery was dead, car wont stay started. I asked if he could call roadside service to come and get my car. It didnt seem to matter to him as he said no and Id we find that the alternator and battery is dead, you will have to pay. I was in shock and disbelief bc I had just left there no more than 15 minutes ago.But what was more shocking was when I called back to speak with the Manager over Service, he had the same reaction, and seemed uninterested in the fact that I had just left the dealer and now my car wont start. Now Im upset and was in disbelief and highly disappointed that both service advisor and Manager of Service did not try to solve the problem and did not send roadside assistance to pick up my car. They showed no concern in the fact that my car was not working! And to make things worse, they said, When you bring your car in and were find its the alternator or the battery, you have to pay for it, were not liable. Oh my, could not believe this! This is suppose to be a upscale business that specializes in satisfying their customers. Well not only was I not satisfied, but I felt totally helpless. I will never bring my car back to the Lexus of North Miami ever again! Horrible customer satisfaction service!

I am not employed by Lexus or trying to help them in any way. I am a business owner that has been in the market for a luxury car. I love this website and feel it has prevented me from making a huge financial mistake! I have always wanted an Audi and was close to purchasing their flagship A8. After reading the nightmares of Audi ownership, I started investigating Mercedes and BMW on Consumer Affairs. To make this short, the complaints on Lexus (other than an apparent common problem with their dash cracking) are NOTHING compared to the three German manufacturers! Im seeing complaints on Lexus for using a quart of oil at 120k miles? Transmission complains at 60k? Just saying, read the problems other luxury owners are having, you will feel much better! I still dont know what I will end up dropping $70-$90k on, Lexus seems kind of boring to me, but based on the complaints I am reading about them, I feel it would be a much more reliable option than most..

My daughter bought a used 2009 Lexus RX350 18 months ago from CarMax. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle she received a recall notice from Lexus that dashboard needs to be replaced due to cracking. She took her car to the local Lexus dealer in Tampa last July and was told that dashboards were back ordered and they would notify her when her replacement arrived. Within weeks cracks started to appear in her dash. Foam started popping thru the dash. My daughter is in sales and frequently transports clients. Her clients are senior executives at major corporations. They all commented negatively about the dashboard. She has heard that she should have bought a (substitute Audi to VW) as she has heard them all.Her luxury car has become the running joke within her office. She has just been transferred to Houston and isnt taking the car with her as she would have to go the Local Houston dealer and start the waiting process all over again re-registering for the replacement dashboard. She just sold her car back to CarMax for 60% less than she paid for it ($15,000 loss) as they were the only buyer for the car with the volcanic dash.Lexus customer service has been unresponsive responding that the dashes have been slow to ship from Japan and that their hands are tied. Are we really supposed to believe that it takes more than ten months for a dash to ship from Japan? I believe that Lexus isnt taking this recall seriously as they know that the longer they put off replacing the dashboards the less the recall will cost them as cars will be totaled or sold and some owners will simply give up. I have owned 14 Toyota cars and 7 Lexus cars as I am in sales and trade cars at least every two years. I pointed this out to Lexus but they did not care. They point a finger at the dealers and the dealers point a finger at Lexus. The reality is that they are both giving owners the middle finger.

In 2008, we purchased a new 2008 RX-350 from a Portland area Lexus. Prior to purchasing the vehicle we spent months researching the Lexus brand, reliability and customer satisfaction. We are over 3 hours away from the closest Lexus dealer. Having heard and read mostly good reviews, we opted to purchase the vehicle described. We have taken excellent care of the vehicle and all of our maintenance has been maintained current by our only local Lexus family Toyota dealership in our area. The vehicle has never been in an accident. Seven years later we have had several unexpected repairs required to keep the vehicle running. First was the NOC sensor (slightly under $1000). Second was the rack and pinion (slightly over $1000). And the latest was a transmission replacement. The vehicle is just outside the powertrain warranty. The total costs of these repairs has been over $7200. Even the local Toyota service representative said this should not happen with this car.I have contacted the Lexus goodwill assistance number and they agreed to pay for the parts for the latest repair. While that is good of them, it is my opinion that the loyalty of Lexus belongs to their company rather than their customers and they certainly choose not to stand behind their luxury product. It is disappointing Lexus does not show the same loyalty to its customers when excessive repairs are required to what should have been a more reliable vehicle. I would like others to be aware of the Lexus quality of service and loyalty and recommend that you buy a car from Honda/Acura whom we have had excellent service from and been shown truly good loyalty and certainly stand behind their product.

Never thought I would be writing a negative post about Lexus! I purchased a 2015 GS350 F Sport that was certified back in November 2018. It had 24,000 miles. It is still under the Manufacturer Warranty as well as the Certified Warranty. Last month I noticed the finish on the rims was peeling. I took it to the dealer and they took photos to send to the district Manager. I was told I would hear back in about a week of a resolution. Two weeks later, I still had not heard anything. I called the service rep. He told me he would get back with me. Later that day he called and said that the District Manager said that it did not appear to be a Manufacturer issue. Dissatisfied, I called Lexus Corporate and after many phone calls back and forth was told that they will not do anything about it! This is completely unacceptable. I will be sure to tell everyone know how Lexus does not stand behind their warranty!!

About 15000 miles I noticed the leather coloring wearing off. When I called about it they said no problem under bumper to bumper warranty. Mind you I weigh 155 and my wife weighed 125. When taking it in for airbag recall with now 30000 miles and still under warranty I mentioned the seats. They have refused to repair it or replace them. I have a 1994 F350 we towed the race car with and 200000 miles and seats perfect. Any other vehicle I have owned, Im 70 and owned quite a few, never had coloring worn off the seats. On my 2010 Lexus didnt have a problem. But now I guess they are saying we cant meet the quality of all the other car manufactures. This is totally wrong what they do and should be held accountable and take care of the defect.

Hello. This Vehicle is great but easy to steal for thief. After I purchased I heard, from the other Rx350 owners and insurance broker too that this model is been easy to steal. Now recently someone steal my Rx350 2016 from My driveway and I reported to police and they recover too on same day. But all key system and other things are damage. What should I do in this case? Should I take this vehicle back, which I am not comfortable to take this vehicle? And Constable told me that Lexus dont have vehicle tracing device in uptown 2019 Rx350. But Why Rx350 is easy for thief to steal that car. Why Lexus dont have proper lock system. This is not acceptable and I will not suggest to buy Lexus anymore. I think we should look for another Brand.

I own a RX 330 which I take pride in servicing and has always relied on Lexus to do all my services even though they are twice as expensive. December 2013, I spent over $3000.00 in service charge of which included four new tires. I had a flat on the road that was not repairable. I called Lexus dealership in east Hartford, Connecticut. I was told that the new tires I had bought has no warranty. I asked why wasnt I told that at the time of purchase so I could at least make an informed decision to purchase or not. I got the runaround from customer service after holding on the phone for at least twenty five minutes. I was desperate so I asked about giving me a discount on another tire. They denied me that also. I ended up buying another tire from another vender in desperation. I pursued the matter and filed a complaint with Lexus headquarters who did not help the situation any but told me they are not in the tire business and there is nothing they can do for me. Mind you, this is only less than three months after purchasing four new tires. My plan was to purchase my next car from Lexus but with this experience, Infiniti or Acura is looking like a better choice. They so refuse to take responsibility for numerous customer complaints about headlights fogging up.

I bought my Lexus at Butler South Atlanta. On the very first day, July 3rd 2017, that I received my new Lexus, there a major problem by the time it was driven 152 miles (very first day of having my car). The car went into limp mode, not being able to exceed 25MPH. This was alarming to me since this was suppose to be a new car. I was shocked to know a check engine light came on and the car would not go past 25 MPH. When it was taken into the dealership, the mechanic cleared the codes and said it was suppose to be fine. A few days later, I noticed a very loud knocking sound (Clack, Clack, Clack) coming from the engine. It sounded terrible, much like an old truck that has several hundred thousand miles on it. The sound even began growing in intensity. When I took it to the dealership (2nd visit in less than 15 days), I was told by the service advisor that this was normal. I was shocked to hear this diagnostic. I left but each day the sound kept growing louder. Eventually, I took it back. 2 weeks later (3rd visit in about 30 days), this time I requested that someone else looked at the car so a supervisor came out. He immediately said that the car needed to be taken in. I was very frustrated since I had not been able to enjoy my new car which is suppose to be a reliable brand. At the dealership, the engine of the car was stripped to get to the problem. After 9 days of having my car at Lexus, I was told that the work was completed. I was informed that there was damage to the cylinders and a block assembly was replaced. The cost of this repair was more than $10,000. Here was a new car with less than 700 miles with damage to it costing more than $10,000. This repair, however, was covered under the existing warranty. When I contacted Lexus customer satisfaction about the issue, I was told that there was nothing they could do since they already honored the warranty by repairing the car. The case manager, Amie, was hostile to me, and further offered no solution or attempt to please a dissatisfied customer. I requested to speak to her supervisor who called me two days later and demonstrated a poor ability to listen, always demanding that he be listened to. I am shocked that Lexus employs people for customer satisfaction who treat customers in such a pejorative manner. These people are giving Lexus and Peggy Turner a poor brand image. The supervisor, Mike, told me all they could do is offer me a two-time credit for services. Really? A new car with problems from the very first day of ownership and which has caused me much distress and frustration. From the moment I saw the $10,000 cost of repair for this new car, I was immediately troubled and wanted a mutually agreeable solution. To date, Lexus has refused to offer me a reasonable solution for a Lemon car that I bought. On July 3 when I got my car, I was planning an out of town trip with my family for July 4th but the trip was cancelled because of problem with the lemon RX350. This experience especially having to deal with a non-customer satisfaction office, has left me with nothing but a nightmare and a car that I dont know what is the next problem that will occur. Ill post pics of the car and the $10,000 plus bill to social media to sensitize people so they can make a determination whether they really want to purchase a car from a brand that is insensitive to customer needs. PS. Two weeks ago I sent an email to the GM at the dealership from where I bought the Lexus and he refused to display the common courtesy of giving me a response.

This review is not about a dealership experience or tires. This is a decision that Lexus and Enform made consciously and won’t rectify. In certain model years of the GX 460 Lexus requires you to have a couple of paid subscriptions to use remote start. Now I get and fully understand the need for on-going service with the app that uses cellular signals to remote start, unlock, lock all that jazz via the app. However, to disable the key fob from working direct from fob to truck and have it require a subscription is bs! This vehicle already lacks in so many ways (i.e. terrible infotainment, worst navigation, etc.). This is just a pathetic choice on their behalf. You can experience a painfully slow touchscreen before you buy it and decide if you want to live with that on a $60k truck or not. When you buy you get a year of Enform service so you can’t experience the issue I’ve stated until after the subscription runs out and you then learn about this poor software choice made. Apparently it has caused enough attention that they stopped doing it for 2019+ but have no plans to retrofit a few years (maybe 2016-2018). I don’t know all years impacted as even Enform reps know jack about this. Shame on whatever genius department has their grubby hands in this.

In Honolulu Hawaii - Driving one weekend, my Lexus RC350 just dies on the street. Nothing works and finally I give up and tow my car to Lexus. On Monday I call Lexus and talk to the service manager Bryan. He informs me that when the car got towed they couldnt start but as of this morning, car starts fine and they cant identify what the problem was. He informs me that the technician will run tests to find out what happened and get back to me. I wait a week and nobody calls me. I call Lexus back and was told Bryan was out for lunch and that he will call me back. No call back that day. Meanwhile, I am not even offered a loaner and taking Taxi to and from work on my own expense. I call back Lexus and ask for loaner and told theres none available. I end up complaining and miraculously they get a test model that I can use. Basic IS model which is not the same level as what Im paying for but I didnt complain as I thought it was for a short time. However, if theres a test model car they can offer as a loaner, shouldnt I have been offered this from Day 1 instead of after few calls? Anyway, I get my loaner and feel better that at least now I have a way of transportation. Another Week goes by while I wait patiently and dont hear back so AGAIN call Lexus. At this point Im told that they still cant identify the problem and running more tests. I told the manager that I understand the situation but would appreciate some type of communication back as they make progress. Of course on phone Im given the yes absolutely. I had a business trip so end up not being bothered for 10 days and get back to Hawaii. Meanwhile I had my phone but never did get a call back. Another several days go by without a call which now my car has been in the shop for a month. Cant get in touch with Bryan and the receptionist tells me she will take message so I explain to her the situation and tell her that I just need someone to keep me updated. Nobody calls me back. By now, its nearly 6 weeks and I am just astonished at the bad customer service. I end up calling Lexus and explaining the entire situation to the receptionist and asking for the GM. I didnt get a call back from GM but the Asst GM calls me and finally some light at the end of the tunnel. He tells me that he wants to help and was apologetic. He tells me that technician needs to run more tests. I end up telling him that I want to get out of the lease so I can be done with and move on. Once I mention terminating my lease, GM ends up calling me few days later and tells me that I only have several months left so he wont release me from my lease. He offers me one month lease waiver as compensation. Finally after 2 months, I get a callback and told my car is fixed. I go to Lexus excited to finally put this long 2 month battle to an end and the cashier tells me I owe almost $900. I tell him that its covered in the lease/warranty and theres no way Im paying for it. With attitude, he tells me well you can talk to the service manager. Bryan who never returned my calls comes and tells me that its their mistake. At this point, I am just disgusted with their communication process and tell him to ask the GM to call me back. No return call for several days so I call back and speak to another manager and he tells me that the GM had family emergency and is not in the office. Finally after another several days, GM calls me back. I explain the situation again with being told to pay and the cashier attitude and now demanded that I dont pay for 2 months which he tells me he cant do because I was given a loaner. Im only asking for 2 months to be waived as I didnt get the car Im paying for and to be compensated for all the time I wasted plus the frustration I had to put up with. I have 2 Lexus at the moment and there will be no more Lexus for me the way its going.

My car has replaced fuel pump last summer. And its factory warranty ended on 12/16/2016. However, my car still had problems from engine since last summer. So I dropped my car at the dealership and got loaner car about 5 times between last summer and this January. They had never found what the problem is. Finally, my car stopped on 3/4/2017. My car is towed to the dealership. And I heard that my cars engine is broken and it needs to replace to the new engine. It is totally unfair to pay for replace the new engine. My previous car was Acura. The reason why I switched to Lexus is the Lexus engine is very strong and they always goes to million mileage. Now, I totally regret to switch to the Lexus.I heard that something was exploded inside of the engine. And something broke the engine and it popped out from the engine. The engine is half broken (on 62000 miles, but out of warranty). Do you believe this? NOT CRACKED. Dealership pushed me to pay $8000 to replace my engine. How many people can pay $8000 right away? He could do a dissertation on Lexus history which I found fascinating plus there is no match for his wonderful sense of humor. In addition, it’s not over with the signing of the contract. Charlie has said that I can call him anytime I have a question about the car! This has been validated and is such a great pleasure to have this option. In addition to Charlie, there is an excellent Service Dept with Tanya and co-workers. I am an owner of Lexus RX 400h. The manufacturing year of my Lexus is to be seen in the attached figure: September 2007. It is extremely interesting that the curtain and side did not open airbags when my car crashed over. However, the commercial materials and specifications issued after September 2007 wrote about a protection system of 360, according to which curtain and side airbags open automatically in case of car crash over. After years of research it was confirmed and the representative of the manufacturer recognized, as well that no RX 350, 400h manufactured and approved in Europe contains such a system. This way Lexus Europe misled its customers in the issued commercial materials. Lexus Europe is silent disposing, no recall as it is hard to find a remedy for this problem. As a lonely fighter I brought an action against Lexus Europe for its default. If you have such a car, or you are interested in this issue, you are free to join me here.

We purchased a 2011 Lexus RX 350 in April of 2013. Shortly after we noticed rat droppings inside the car. Every day there was more. We put a mouse trap inside the back hatch and we caught one. In a few days we noticed more droppings and set the trap again. We caught another one. Then, we caught 2 more. Called Lexus in California, they told us to contact the local dealer in Birmingham, AL. We did and he told us they had the Lexus coming in all the time with mice. He said there was no way to keep them out, they were coming in from the bottom. We carried it to a friends tire service and put it up on the rack. There was no place for them to get in under there. With further searching, we found that the rats were building a nest in the fresh air filter. This past week, more droppings, set traps again, caught 2 more mice. We have had 4 Ford Explorers, 3 Chevrolet SUV, numerous other vehicles, trucks galore. We had 5 sons that had vehicles and none of the above or childrens had mice. That is a total of 6 mice caught in this car since May. This seems petty compared to what the previous comments were. It would really be terrible if the mice chewed the leather seats or some of the wiring. It would really be bad if one ran up our leg.

Over 6 months ago I got into an auto accident. My car damages included: my wheel hanging off, my door crunched in unable to close, my glove box smashed and completely crushed, etc. During this collision, NONE of my airbags went off, which angered me because I had an 11-year-old and 13-year-old in the car that were not protected. After doing some research in my car, I found out that I had EIGHT airbags in just the front seat of my car. An impact such as this should have caused at least one of the airbags deploying.I contacted Lexus about this when my accident happened (back in August of 2013) and they said they would inspect the car. After they inspected my vehicle they said they would get back to me within a month about the results. I waited a month...then two months and called corporate offices. I was told that someone will get back to me. Three months.. Four months... Five months...SIX months and they have neglected to return any emails of mine or even give me an ounce of respect. My car is over $35,000 and to be treated like this makes me sick!!The damages to my car were over $8,000 including all new module systems in my vehicle because they were found faulty. I have all my receipts about my damages and Lexus refuses to even answer me! When it comes to the safety of my children, I do not allow people to push me to the side. I love Lexus line of models, mainly the cars but would really like to see a sportier van or SUV option for us moms on the go, maybe have some options for electronic device storage for all the passengers. I would love to see a wine bottle storage compartment added in as an option when us adults want to go on a night camping trip too. Keep the luxury, keep the excellent quality but amp up the capacity and horsepower. The sleek lines on the exterior set it apart, but what I love most is how the inside fits so well. The features are very high end and the designers and developers obviously put a lot of work into how convenient everything would be to reach. The auto locking of the doors that can be customized by the driver is an amazing feature too, it keeps my children from trying to unlock or open the doors. I can set how long the interior lights stay on, change my exterior signal flash, the brightness of my dash lights, among many other amazing features. The passenger capacity is huge, luxurious and keeps the kids from annoying each other.

Now it is affecting the driving gauges, as they are reporting erroneous things ie 50 mi/gallon. If computer stops while driving will be a large accident, extremely unsafe. ** at Putnam says funny, the 50 mi/gallon… blew off the extreme safety hazard of a computer going out while driving. Cannot get me in and a loaner car until tomorrow, even if unsafe. Lexus you are the premier - get your act together, this is serious.

I recently had the experience of being denied repairs of my Lexus (VIN 2T2BK1BA7AC015824). A known problem exists in the steering column of my particular model, a 2010-2011 Lexus RX350. So, this parts failing falls under the following: (1) a known problem by Lexus and (2) a very new car still under warranty. The only caveat to this situation is that I travel for work, and I spend some of my time in Minsk. I have a Lexus sedan here in the United States, and only just recently took the RX 350 to be my car in Minsk. There, I began to discover the steering noise issue. I understand that the standard procedure for Lexus would be to only cover warranty issues within the United States.I personally feel that this is a special case; I will have to have the vehicle repaired in Europe, so I am prepared to pay for the labor through a Lexus dealer, but I strongly feel that the $1700, plus part I had to order to replace an existing flaw in my Lexus, should not be paid by me. As mentioned, I purchased this Lexus in the United States, I still own another Lexus in the United States, and one day, I will return this Lexus to the United States. My request to have this part paid for has been denied. I find this very hard to believe. The trend with many large companies is a disregard towards customer service that will build brand loyalty. I did not think Lexus was one of these companies, and I am deeply disappointed. It has been my understanding that Lexus leads the industry in retaining the highest percentage of vehicle owners. Neal Oddes, director of product research at J.D. Power and Associates said that, By satisfying its customers on many different levels, Lexus consistently enjoys high-retention rates and “customer retention is extremely valuable in the auto industry because it costs manufacturers less to keep existing customers than to attract new ones, and strong retention fosters favorable word of mouth. Why now would Lexus want to risk its word of mouth reputation in my case? I have a friend who has been at war with GM over the poorest of customer relations efforts and vehicle issues; I personally found it comforting in owning a Lexus. I do not have to deal with such customer disregard, and would readily make this known. Now, I no longer have comfort in owning a Lexus. Where is the world class customer service that creates retention? Maybe you should all take a moment and read the following article on customer service. I understand that this issue is falling under what might be considered special circumstances; however, I had believed Lexus would treat me as a loyal customer, not as an invaluable statistic. This is all very unfortunate, and on principle alone, I am not going to stop pursuing a resolve to this situation. I know there has to be someone in the Lexus organization who cares enough to spend $1700 of Lexus money in order to preserve a reputation that has likely taken years and billions of dollars to build.A colleague of mine recently shared a negative experience he had with a large Canadian airline. He had purchased a ticket to return home last year for the Christmas holiday but was unable to do so because of medical reasons. It was his understanding that the value of the ticket would be honored for one year from the scheduled date of travel. However, the airlines policy was actually to credit the value of the ticket for one year from the purchase date. This information wasnt printed on his ticket, and when he contacted the airline, he spoke with four members of its customer service department, including a senior manager, and received four different explanations of the airlines policy and his possible remedies.During a time following the horrific events of September 2001, my colleague thought this airline, now more than ever (especially after requesting government relief due to lost revenue), would bend over backward to satisfy him, and keep him as a regular customer. Airlines were slashing fares as much as 50 percent to entice fearful passengers to once again take to the skies. He was utterly shocked and appalled. However, he experienced the lengths to which this airline went in the opposite direction. Each of the four representatives gave four greatly varied definitions of the airlines refund and rescheduling policy. Each apologized for his inconvenience yet repeatedly told him what they could not - and would not - do for him. In the short term, the immediate savings by the airline were $400, the value of the unused ticket. The net loss over the long term, however, will be much, much greater. Not only will he and his family never use this airline (they spend about $3,000 annually) they are so furious that theyve told many friends about this experience. Not surprisingly, everyone theyve told has been shocked and appalled, also, saying they, too, will never fly with this carrier in the future.Understanding that the customer is the source of a companys revenue, it logically follows that every customer must be made as happy as possible, especially so during an industry-wide crisis of historic magnitude. Seeing as its not the owner of a company that routinely interacts with customers, but rather the sales staff, operators, customer service representatives and et cetera have direct contact. It must be a clearly understood rule that the customer must always feel right. The customer has to be treated in a way that sets a company apart from competitors. If a company successfully merges this philosophy with a superior product or service, it can earn customer loyalty and in turn, become profitable. Case in point: Nordstrom. A Nordstrom customers experience provides a perfect counter to the aforementioned airlines woeful customer service practices. For years, the story has circulated about a man who had returned tires to a Nordstrom store, and it provides an excellent example of how to exercise a customer-first approach to business. The story is true. Nordstrom built a store in Alaska at a location that had previously included a tire store. A man, failing to realize the tire store no longer existed, brought car tires into Nordstrom, and asked for a refund. Despite the companys position as a clothier (seemingly everyone knows the only rubber Nordstroms sells is on the bottom of sneakers), the sales associate nonetheless issued some type of refund or store credit, thus satisfying the customer. When people talk about this story, many cant remember if it was a man or a woman, a young or old person, but they always remember that it was Nordstrom who put its customer first.Although this example is extreme, and I dont suggest that a company make a habit of issuing refunds, for merchandise it doesnt sell, the underlying principle stands: For long-term prosperity and patron loyalty, a customer must always feel right, even when shes wrong. Even if a company such as the airline in question doesnt want to adhere to this same level of customer service, or more likely, doesnt believe it can afford to, the only question I would ask its top brass is, Can you afford not to? Word of mouth is by far the single most important marketing vehicle a company can hope for. Think of what the word of the mouth may do for this airlines long-term outlook. Not only has the airline lost loyal customers and likely many more once this story spreads, but more importantly, the employees who initially offered the incorrect information to a loyal customer and then blamed the customer himself for acting on the information he received, are still employed. How much more inaccurate information these employees are going to disperse, and what will be the resulting net loss?Follow Nordstroms lead, not the woeful path cut by the airline. Before the next customer crisis arises at your company, I urge you to ask yourself the following questions, so you are prepared to handle the situation appropriately: How does your company resolve customer disputes, concerns, questions or problems? Do your people automatically go on the defensive, citing policies, procedures and counting warranty periods to the day? Is there a mission statement or customer policy in place that governs all aspects of customer service, including conflict resolution? You cant put the onus on your customers to get it right every time. Too many companies focus on the reasons why they cant help a customer, rather than offering solutions to help fix his problem. The reality is, problems will arise. The problems are not the challenge. The challenge is responding to these problems effectively; these responses help determine a companys ultimate success or failure.

I called the manager and he put the blame on myself since I had signed the contract. Second...I have been have issues with the battery and they are saying its because of the cold. I have bought my car LX 570 in 2010. Im a loyal Toyota customer. My car originated from Saudi Arabia and I live in Qatar. Several problems happened to the car. There was a gear problem, then the rear AC and then the front AC got damaged. All of this happened and I had to repair it under my cost. This is a top of the line car. International warranty should be honored no matter where I go. Saudi and Qatar are neighboring countries, so spec are similar.

Getting an oil change at Stevens Creek Lexus is a nightmare. They are so disrespectful in that they book 8-10 appointments every 20 minutes, so the service is the worst. I am writing this as I have been waiting over 90 minutes for my SCHEDULED oil change. Yes, I made an appointment and still waited and hour and a half (and still not done yet). They should take fewer appointments if it is going to take 90 minutes for each oil change.I also told them about my breaks constantly squeaking and they told me that the brakes in the Lexus IS squeak normally, but if I want to pay for an upgrade, they will not squeak. I asked if I needed new brakes. They said no, but I need to pay for the upgrade if I want them to stop squeaking. CRAZY!

I never thought of owning a premium vehicle. The track record of this company (Toyota) indicates a real commitment to quality that is built in. I might have bought the Highlander but I didnt. No remorse here. For a luxury vehicle the ride is a little bit harsh, but I like that, it handles well for a big vehicle. It is fast, much faster than the 4.0l ford ranger it replaced. Fuel economy? Meh, not great at 20mpg on average. The 3.5l V-6 is already a legend being in production a very long time. The six speed automatic is very nice and inspires confidant driving. Comfortable? Oh yeah, the heated (or cooled) leather seats more than make up for any road harshness. In a word this RX350 is fabulous. I have the base model and it sure is well equipped BUT, to tell the truth I do not find the infotainment system all that user friendly and as such, about the only part I use is the radio, not the Sirius radio. Lexus demands some big money to keep updates fresh, so they can keep it. I would rather use my Android phone. The market seems to favor SUVs. If youre in that market, be sure to test drive a new or used (pre owned) RX350. While youre at it check the resale prices on a ten year old model of your choice.

Lexus is not a very popular car brand because it is expensive and very innovative, but this is why this type of car will last a long time. Since it is a luxurious car, it looks very nice outside and inside. It has leather seats inside and the outside is painted black, making it seem more powerful and beautiful. Upgrading this type of car can usually be expensive, as the car itself is expensive. However, if you have the money to buy the car in the first place, then you should not have any problems upgrading it if needed. Since my car is not large, the passenger capacity is limited. However, all of the passengers that have ridden in my car were quite satisfied, so I would recommend the car when it comes to passenger capacity.

Beware of this diagnosis. It is not covered as of now from Lexus and is a 6,000-7000 dollar repair due to their drain hose design and placement in vehicle. I just bring it in for 10000 mile service and within a week the car started to take in water. Its been a problem with these cars since 2012 and they wont do anything to fix it because theyre claiming natural causes. I leased car from lexus of Rt 10 in Whippany NJ. They wont help or lexus 1-800 wont either even knowing this problem has been going on for many years. I went on lexus forums to see if other people have had same experience and the answer is yes from same dealership also too but after their 5000 mile service. Beware and spread the word about lexus.

The garage door opener on my new RX350 opens the door from inside the garage, and closes the door when sitting directly in front of the garage. But with the door closed it wont open the door. I have a $12 mobile opener clipped to my visor. Service department sent out a tech to verify that I had the opener programmed correctly. IT worked for him one time, but then wouldnt work for me. He came back and couldnt get it to work. I think the signal is just weak, or the antenna is not hooked up. But I dont like not being able to open the garage door with my $53k car. Im sure this is not a common problem for Lexus but Id like to see some resolution to this problem.

None of my filter was ever changed. The oil was dirty. I mean really look like mud. New York stated to me that I may get oil flushed and you cant let your oil get this dirty. I was really, really upset. I showed him the papers from Koons where my oil was done less than a month ago. My filters was changed. Lexus Koons took my money and never changed my oil. Also, the appearance is impeccable, seriously a real stunner and ranking number one on looks. Lexus should be known for just the fact that the car itself is one of the best. Some may not like the design. But it is actually the classiest and sexiest car there is. Although you will need a contract, Lexus is very open to upgrades and letting you the buyer choose the looks and features they want what they travel in to be. I have had rust problems with my last two RX350 in the tailgate before the first year was finished. The first one occurred in the first 6 months. I replaced the first vehicle after 2.5 years into a 4 year lease at my expense. I contacted Toyota Canada President and CEO, who is also responsible for Lexus Canada. His representative took my information and contacted me back within a couple of days to tell me that Lexus was not prepared to do anything beyond the standard requirements under their warranty. As it stands today, I am stuck with this rust bug for another 33 months. I will not be replacing this vehicle before its lease expires at my expense again. This model is well known for his faulty ABS actuator and Lexus would not want to replace it saying that you are out of the warranty time frame of 5 months (Despite the very low mileage that you have), when they know for sure the car was made with a faulty part (which is why they extended the warranty on it in the first place). That is very low coming from Lexus. They are supposed to be one of the world class customer service especially considering the price of their product. Like I said, Ive learned my lesson. My local Lexus of Kendall (FL) dealer nor Lexus corporate have resolved a problem with my 2013 ES 300h after many attempts. Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work. I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said its not a Lexus defect because on one side it is perfect circle. I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.

Purchased the pre-certified SUV (2013 Lexus GX 460) with 22k miles. The following week I noticed the front left bumper was detaching from the body. Brought it back to the dealer who sent it to auto body shop to have it repaired. He installed new pins. The following month noticed the same bumper plus the rear right bumper panel was falling off. Brought it back again, this time they placed a bracket into the panel. Approximately 6 months later, the same issue occurred so I kept pushing the panel back in. In June 2018 I noticed the rear and front bumper panels were worse than ever. Just returned from the dealer and was told at this point there is nothing they can do since this a manufacturing defect that is common with Lexus as well as Toyota vehicles. The only way it may solve the problem permanently is to replace both bumpers!! Owned a couple of Lexus SUVs in the past and never had this issue until I purchased this model. At first I thought that the brakes were bad... But after getting several opinions from the Lexus Dealership and a few others. I was told that this is a common issue and theres nothing that can be done until Lexus upgrades their brake pads/brakes & that I will be put on the list. Not only is this disappointing because I thought highly of Lexus before but this is extremely EMBARRASSING. I feel as if Im driving a 89 Pinto. I have been going back and forth with Crown Lexus, Lexus corporate, and Lexus executive office for months now. Seems like all they were doing was handing me off wasting my time. My issue is my transmission in my 2007 IS 250 that started while under warranty and I took it to Crown Lexus multiple times. Each time I was either told it was an issue already identified and they would fix under a recall or they could not duplicate the problem and refused to fix it. Every attempt they made with a recall was not the issue. It was and has always been a faulty transmission and I have been saying. The recalls were only a cover up to buy time until the vehicle was out of warranty to avoid a costly repair under warranty. As soon as my vehicle fell out of warranty now they identify and admit that transmission is going out. My vehicle only has 125,000 miles. A Lexus has a reputation and is expected to last well over 200,000 miles. I have researched and found multiple IS 200 owners with the exact same problem. A Lexus tech himself said the transmission will fail early. LEXUS needs to do the right thing and fix these faulty transmissions. I am considering legal action if Lexus continues to ignore this issue. My main reason feeling something should be done is because I brought it to their attention while under warranty and it was never fixed.

2007 Lexus RX 400h - So there is something wrong with the brake actuator in these models which will DEACTIVATE YOUR BRAKES AT ANYTIME SO BEWARE!!! I called Lexus in July 2016 to tell them that while driving on the freeway, my ABS VSC light went on, I heard a high pitched sound that went on continuously and I lost my brakes. I was with my 8 year old daughter. She was very frightened and thought we were gonna die. I called Lexus Jim Falk Beverly Hills service department and they said this was normal. They said to just turn off the engine and wait a few minutes because the ABS needs to reset. So after this incident, it happened to me 3 more times and I just did the normal procedure of turning the engine off and waiting 5 minutes. But just last week, I was driving my pregnant wife to the doctor and this thing happened again and we almost hit the car in front of us. So I brought it to Longo Lexus service department immediately and they told me that my brake actuator needed to be replaced and that would cost me $4,000 to fix!!! They also told me that this is a known issue with the Lexus RX 400h and that they had a campaign that replaced these for free in 2016 and this campaign had expired December 31, 2017. It is March 2018 already so obviously I cant avail of that free replacement. So I called Lexus corporate office and told them my story about losing my brakes, not knowing about the campaign, and Lexus telling me this was normal (They actually verified that phone call in their records). They said they would escalate this to the national manager which is the highest in Lexus. So now, they just got back to me saying that even with the record of that phone call to Lexus, there is NO PROOF that the car did lose its brakes because no one inspected it at that time it happened. Let me get this straight LEXUS, YOU WANT ME TO DRIVE A CAR WITH NO BRAKES TO A LEXUS DEALER WHICH IS 10 MILES AWAY??? All I could do at that time was call. And to tell me that this is a normal thing, I believed you, because YOU ARE LEXUS! So now you want me to spend $4,000 for your own mistake?? Gosh, I would never recommend a LEXUS because THEY DONT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT SAFETY AT ALL!

I received a letter from Lexus today informing me that my two Lexus cars (IS 250 and ES 350) will be recalled at some point in the future due to a defect in the Takata Front Passenger Airbag Inflator. It said the airbag can deploy due to this defect and possibly send metal fragments through the airbag striking and possibly injuring or killing the vehicle occupant. It also said that Lexus is working on preparing a remedy and will send another notification when the remedy becomes available. Then it says What should you do? Until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat.So their solution is to not have us drive with anyone in the passenger seat until some unknown time in the future (1 month? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?), when they finally contact us to fix the defect. This is unacceptable. How are families that need to use the passenger seat to carry everyone supposed to function with this solution? They need to come up with a short time fix until the longer term problem can be resolved, e.g., remove the deadly airbag in the near term and replace it at some point in the future. We have seat belts that can protect the passenger in the meantime and the seat belt will not kill someone unexpectedly. My impression is Lexus sent his note because they are more concerned about their legal liability if the defect occurs and less concerned about how thousands families with IS 250 or ES 350 are suppose operate day to day and never use the passenger seat until Lexus determine the best method for minimizing their costs to address this issue.

I recently purchased a 2010 RX350 (my fourth Lexus after owning a RX300, RX330, SC430). This has an extremely noisy engine upon start up and for the first 5-8 miles of cold operation. The noise has been identified by several online experts as such things as injectors, timing gears or chain but I believe and just recently confirmed with a Master Lexus Technician that its a poor piston design with their 3.5 L engines. The noise is a scuffed piston noise (indicating too much piston to cylinder wall clearance) and I also believe the piston skirt is too short allowing the piston to rock in the cylinder when it is started cold. I find that the Lexus store explanation that they all do it is not acceptable. I have a GM Duramax diesel that is quieter upon start up than this 2010 RX 350. I am guessing that at some point, the engine will begin to use oil and get louder. I am not sure what I will do as I may sell or trade of the RX350 because it is just unacceptable for this luxury car to sound so disgusting. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone until a proper repair is completed. Probably should see about a class action suit against this engine.

Lexus GX460 is a great vehicle, a true SUV. The only negative is poor gas mileage coupled with a small gas tank; so many gas stops on long trips. Nevertheless, perfect size for four adults. Billed as a 7 passenger, not even close unless 3 of those are small children and you don’t have any luggage or bags of any size. With 4 adults you do have enough cargo room for 2 adults and 2-3 children.

I am a current owner and driver of a 2007 Lexus is250. This car was purchased brand new in October 2006 from the Westminster Lexus dealership. Since the very beginning this car has had many problems which include numerous manufacturer recalls. In 2011, shortly before the warranty expired, the navigation unit went out. By the time the car was taken in, it was 60 miles over the warranty miles (Warranty was void because of mileage not years). The dealership said that we would have to pay for the repairs and quoted the repair to be $2,300+. Also around this time, the dashboard began to get sticky. Another repair that would have to be fixed out of pocket. This car has been very well taken care of. We made sure that we followed all the manufacturers recommendations on how to properly care for this car. We have never used any solvent or spray on the dashboard and followed the recommendations to use warm water. A sunshade has been used since the first day to shield the sun away from the dark interior. I have tried countless times to see if any Lexus dealership could help me out because this has to be a manufacturers defect but no dealership has offered to help. I have met several Lexus owners that have experienced the same problems. I have read on online forums even more people from all parts of the United States and in the U.K. who have the same problems. I am not as concerned with the little problems with the car as much as I am with the navigation unit and the dashboard. I finally decided to contact Consumer Affairs after a friend suggested I do. She has a separate problem with her Lexus and said that bringing this to your attention may finally get results. I feel as though buyers of Lexus are getting the short end of the stick. We spend so much money purchasing a luxury car but end up with a defective vehicle that requires more money to fix. Im not even going to go into details about the cars paint.

WORST SERVICE EVER. I called to cancel my Lexus Enform service in July, after I sold the vehicle. I was reassured the service was canceled and there would be no future charges. They charged my credit card in October again. I called and was repeatedly disconnected by various associates trying to transfer me to someone who could help. Calling back the 5th time I was told that there was no charge to my account because they did not have a record. I was on hold for over 30 mins. They demanded documentation of proof of sale of vehicle to cancel the service. Do not sign up for this service or provide them with a credit card!!! You will be charged even after your service is canceled, your car sold etc.

I will never buy another Lexus or Toyota and I recommend anybody thinking about buying a Lexus to buy something else. Lexus does not stand behind their product or their relentless pursuit of perfection. Be aware, I was told by Lexus that once the warranty is up they will not cover a manufacturers defect. No matter how bad the defect as long as it not a safety issue, no matter how many hundreds of thousand of their cars have the exact same defect, no matter how well you have maintained your car.During a recent oil change at the Lexus dealership I was told my 2006 Lexus IS 350 is leaking oil from the front engine cover and Lexus will charge $3,000 to repair the leak. My car only has 80,000 miles and have only had the oil changed by the dealer every 5000 miles. If you Google Lexus leaks oil from front engine cover you will see this is a widespread problem with various Lexus models. I contacted Lexus USA to request they cover the cost of the repair and was told today by their representative Eric that Lexus would only cover $1,000 of the $3,000 repair. This is after Lexus has had about 10 recalls for safety related issues, so my car has practically lived at the dealership. In addition like many other people in the warm sunny states, the dashboard and door sills became sticky and began deteriorating when the car was only a few years old, and it took Lexus about 7 years to finally replace the dashboard and door sills after they had a class action lawsuit brought against them, and you had to ask Lexus about to get them replaced since it was not technically a recall.

I own a 2007 Lexus RX350 that was purchased in 2008. It has been a very reliable car with few mechanical issues over the last 11 years. In the last year, my dashboard began to crack and now is split in several places. I contacted my Lexus dealer who negated to even inform me there was a national recall on the dash itself. I had taken my vehicle in for routine service during that recall envelope and not one thing was mentioned! Park Place Lexus/DFW area practically blew off my concerns off and told me to call the Lexus 800 number. I was subsequently told the recall period had expired and their attitude stemmed around them informing me it was MY responsibility to check for recalls. What??? Now my paint is fading/peeling even though my car is perpetually garaged and I work overseas 18 days/month. It only has 67k miles! I really loved my Lexus but my experience with my dealer and Lexus HQ has all but convinced me its time to go with another brand. Lexus... youve lost my business!!! Buyers... Consider yourself warned!

I bought a new 2013 Lexus ES350 last year, and was very excited. It was my first luxury car indulgence. Im 63 years old, and recently retired. Mechanically, the car ran and drove great. But, the lack of common sense creature comforts in the front cabin became such an irritation that I ended up trading it in - even though I took a depreciation hit of over $15K. Here are the specifics:1) It is very difficult to exit the car. The low ground clearance was difficult for me, especially since I have some hip issues. The other factor is that the door does not have an intermediate stop position. So, when you open it, it will tend to start closing on you. Many times I had to kick the door to keep it open, just so I could get out. You learn to do this after it shuts on your leg, which is quite painful. This was an issue for the passengers as well. In addition to just being annoying, the bottom door panel became filthy from all of the foot prints.2) There is ZERO convenient storage in the front cabin. I do a lot of detail work in the car, and just need a flat surface to put stuff down. If you look at the console closely, you will see that there is no flat area at all to put anything. The main console storage area crowns in the middle, and is back too far to be useful as a surface. The navigation joystick occupies the right hand side of the console. The shift lever occupies the left hand side. The beverage holder at the front has a sloped cover. The drivers side beverage holder is typically open, because thats the only place you can put your fob/phone/etc. There are no pockets or storage holes in the side of the center console. The end result is that a lot of stuff ends up dropping down between the console and the seat.3) If something does drop down between the console and the seat, there is no convenient way to retrieve it. The only way is to get out of the car, move the seat all the way forward (very slowly because it is a power seat), then open the rear door, get on your knees and reach under the seat from behind. Because of the power seat mechanism, you cant reach under from the front. Try this outside in 100+ degree heat, and it gets very old very fast. Especially when what you dropped is your key fob.4) This leads to my main complaint: The railings under the seats have not been machined, and have very sharp edges. After suffering my third very serious gash on my hand trying to retrieve what fell between the seat and the console, I just lost it. I traded it in not three days later.5) There is no place to put your phone - or even a sunglasses compartment above the rear view mirror. The only place to put stuff is in the drivers beverage compartment. Its like they went out of their way to remove any convenient storage and/or work area.I know to many, these complaints will seem petty. I guess if you drive a luxury car you shouldnt be concerned with these types of issues. But, after a year of putting up with kicking the door open, dropping stuff between the seat and the console, and getting blood all over my shirt and pants, I just couldnt take it anymore.

Today I brought it to Lexus New Orleans because I received a standard recall letter informing me my console is covered. They took a few pictures and informed me the parts would be in in 2 to 3 YEARS! I find that Insulting. First they give you the good news and make you drive in to get the bad news! I used the Ferrara Law Group in Miami. They won their Class Action Suit against Toyota/Lexus 3 years ago and had to bring Toyota/Lexus back to court because they were stalling/stonewalling their customers after they had already lost the case! I have informed the attorney and if more people call them they may file a new suit against Toyota/Lexus...2 - 3 Years is stonewalling!

Had to replace my windshield for the 2017 RX350. It has been two weeks today. Giving various reasons for the delay and informed that it will be another 6 days, since the windshield is on back order. Shocked to find out that a Company like Lexus manufactures cars with various computerized options that are in the windshield and not produce extra windshield. Building about 1000 cars a day, can we not produce a few extra windshields. After all windshields crack often. Feeling frustrated. Looked at a Caddy. Maybe American made is better. I am the owner of my third Lexus ES 350. I anticipated buying my fourth in the next couple of years. I have purchased a Lexus almost exclusively because of its reputation for quality. As I am often in my car alone, the idea of having a car that will not leave me stranded by the side of the road is paramount. I noticed initially, however, with my most recent car purchased new, the 2014 model, that it was not as quiet as my first Lexus.I let that past not attributing it to a decline in overall quality. However, I was wholly unprepared for the wholesale failure without warning of my transmission after only 74,000 miles leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was lucky to make it to a surface street as the failure occurred on the highway. This was a car, as was the case with each of my prior purchases, that had each and every service recommended, all done by a Lexus dealer. However, I could have saved myself a tremendous amount of money, both in terms of initial outlay and maintenance cost, with a much cheaper car and received the same result. This is my LAST Lexus and last Toyota made car.

The Lexus cars until now, have been classic and elegant looking. I dont like the new Lexus cars or SUVs. They ruined the styling. First they put a silly Bow tie in front?? Then the sides look dented in, more or less caved in. My old 2000 Lexus SUV has been admired for years. I get many compliments and today it looks brand new. My dealer and at gas stations, malls everywhere, I drive it, I have had many offers to sell my car. But it rides well, very comfortable and from the drivers seat I can see the road immediately in front of me, there is no huge hood to try and look over and beyond to see the road. The Bose radio/Multidisc CD player sound fabulous and I do not have to reload my CDs each time I want to hear a new artist, I can chose from 5 disks within the dash. Wish they would listen to drivers as to styling and comfort and convenience. Myself, as a retired designer, they went overboard and tried to jazz the car up too much. No need just give the new owners less gadgets (to go wrong) to keep the total car price more reasonable. If they fix it and go back to a classic look, I would buy a new Lexus in a heartbeat. And dealer (in RI) is very reputable and helpful anytime I needed anything, even my oil changes. They are always there to help whatever my needs since 2000 to today 2018. That is a bonus...

We bought 2008 Lexus RX400h, with 79k miles on it, a few weeks ago from Hanlees Toyota in Richmond, CA. We thought we made a smart decision buying hybrid vehicle this time. Guess what, even though Lexus states mpg 27/24 on this vehicle. We never got close to these numbers. We have been driving the vehicle for almost a month now and average mpg is 20.6. We sold our Highlander and upgraded for hybrid Lexus. We drove our highlander for over 10 years. Our average mpg was 21.8. What a disappointment for Lexus. I dont understand how do they get away with this type of false statements at all. We paid whole a lot of extra money to get hybrid vehicle to save money but it seems like we wasted for nothing. We will definitely keep pursuing to get some sort of resolution on this matter. This is not right and legal whatsoever. In February of 2013 I leased a 2013 RX350 from Lexus in Peoria, IL. I kept smelling an odor coming from the vents and took it back to the dealership to fix the problem. They sprayed disinfectant in the vents and brought it back. That was in August of 2013, I could still smell it so they picked up the car again, sprayed again and changed the cabin filter. Still the smell was there! I have called the corporate office and they wont do anything more about it. In September I had to go to doctors office, received 3 shots and my doctor sent me to emergency room, got more shots and they did some blood test. They think I had an allergic reaction, we think because of the mildew. When I told corporate about this they said it was because of my driving habits,???? I have tried everything I know to do. In February 2014 I had ANOTHER allergic reaction, was sent to doctors office and had to get a shot! Was in bed for the whole weekend again. I am only leasing this vehicle and they wont fix it!!

I bought a brand new Lexus rx350. As soon as I took it home I noticed several things wrong with the car. I complained dozens of times on 1 same issue, and several times on other issues. They kept telling me to bring in the car. I live 2 hrs away from dealer I bought from. However each time I brought in car something else always goes wrong after they tell me everything is ok. I have been dealing with this lemon for a yr and several months now and still help in getting my entire money back that I paid for. I also got a list of all the repairs that was done prior to buying. They should not have sold this vehicle or put it on sale. They were taking parts from other cars and putting it on mine to check what was wrong. I also paid almost $2200 on warranties and other things which they claimed I will not get back. All I wanted was a car without any problems and did not mind paying for the extra warranties. If the car was sold as a lemon and they knew there were problems with the car, then you should refund everything including the warranties bought. I am going through Kealanda customer care who agreed to refund the purchase price but refused to refund the $2200 in extra things I bought. Trip charges I understand also, but all the trips were made to the dealership, over and over again. I was given the runaround since day one and lied to. This was my first luxury car and we did not feel safe in this car. It has stayed in 1 spot for the entire time since we noticed all these serious issues. We went on 1 small trip which we had problems with the head lights not working so we came back. Windshield wipers not coming on automatically when raining, Lexus Enform, etc... I could go on and on.I want the owners and Lexus to take care of this. I should not have had to go through so much trouble especially on a high end car. Dealerships and Lexus should be accountable for misleading and selling us a car they knew was defective. I want justice and a full refund including all the extras I bought with the financing department.

I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is refusing to remedy. I have written a letter in an appeal to Lexus to correct a dangerous engineering and design flaw. I have also spoken to the dealership (to no avail) and the department specialist of customer service at Lexus. He assured me that he has taken my concerns to the appropriate managers at Lexus headquarters (this essentially means that they arent willing to acknowledge or correct the issue). At first, I believed the problem was just an irritating inconvenience. The other night, I have discovered that it is a major safety hazard. I have a 2006 IS 350 whose computer touch screen navigation system has stopped working. This is obviously a major inconvenience as it is not just the navigation that doesnt work, it is also the air conditioning controls, the heating controls, the radio controls, the CD/MP3 player, the computer settings and the rear view camera! All of the radio presets were erased without any way to reset them. There is no way to adjust the fan settings for the a/c or heater, I can no longer adjust the base/treble/fade, the backup camera only works 10% of the time and of course, the navigation system is completely non-functional. As the car is only 5 years old and supposedly, a precision, luxury vehicle, one would not expect such major malfunctions affecting multiple systems. Unfortunately, for some reason, they designed all of these systems to be dependent on the navigation computer.I first contacted the company about this issue over the summer and did not receive a satisfactory remedy. I was essentially told that because so many of the computers were having problems, the company was offering to pay of the cost of the replacement part (but not the labor). Indeed, when I explored the issue on the internet, I found hundreds of posts about this problem and other navigation system issues! Given that the company was not willing to replace the defective screen, I would still have to pay over $1200 to $1500 to cover the cost of repair. Like many people, I do not have that amount of money to spend on an engineering mistake. In addition, I feel that it is wrong to ask the consumer to pay to fix something that is obviously flawed and not a result of owner misuse or wear and tear. Frankly, I had much higher expectations of Lexus and was dismayed and disappointed that the company was offering such a paltry remedy for such a major issue! This is an exasperating design flaw and definitely tainted my opinion of the quality of the Lexus product, warranty and customer service. However, I did not realize that this system failure was dangerous until the night of the 18th. Over the last week, the screen has started flashing as the system is trying to load. This is annoying and somewhat distracting in the daylight. However, when the screen flashed a very bright light that night as I was making a left turn at a busy intersection, I almost had an accident. Startled by the sudden light and thinking that the bright flash was the headlights of an oncoming car, I inadvertently swerved into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by two other cars.I implored Lexus to issue a safety recall for this problem and replace all of the touch screen systems that have malfunctioned before a tragic accident is caused. Although I realize the cost of replacing these systems is a significant consideration, it will be a small price to pay compared to the bad publicity, loss of consumer confidence, reduction of sales and not to mention, loss of human life that will occur if the issue is not rectified, and if the company does not react responsibly and proactively. Their response to my appeal was to offer the same remedy as last summer, 50% off of the component cost with no willingness to issue a recall or investigate the issue further.I have covered the screen with a piece of cardboard so that it cant happen to me again, but I worry about other people who may be unaware that this can happen. Especially since there were many reports online of Lexus owners who were having trouble with their navigation systems. I was very lucky to escape injury.

Mr. David **, of Bell Lexus Service, Phoenix, AZ told me that this has been a known problem. I think this is a defective material issue that should have been disclosed before I purchased the Lexus, as I would not have purchased a car that I use for business that absorbed fabric dye from dark pants, skirts, etc. I expected better quality; especially from Lexus! My local detail shop cannot get the dye stains out of the sides of the seats and door panel. Bell Lexus did get it out and they put a sealer on the seats and door and within two days the stains were back. David told me that I could bring the car back for seat cleaning but not every week. David also suggested that I not wear expensive jeans or other dark fabrics in the car? Do I tell my clients the same thing? What if I purchased a leather sofa and this happened? Shouldnt the same principles apply? As a Real Estate professional, I use my Lexus in my business to transport clients. Appearance is an important part of my job. A stained interior will very likely cost me lost sales, lost listings, and fewer referrals. My car is a business investment. Even the non-professional Lexus owner would not like this happening to their supposedly high quality car.Since David was acting as an agent for the Lexus admits the problem; I want this issue addressed and corrected. It is obviously, an undisclosed defect, in that it is inferior quality material, especially with a tan interior. For certain, the sides of the seats and door panels are made from defective materials. Please correct this problem as soon as possible, for I do not want to suffer any further losses.

Lexus has several models, but I chose their RX 400h Hybrid. Its a great automobile. I got great gas mileage, and really felt like I was helping the environment. Previously I had a 4 door sedan, I owned that car for 12 years before selling it and getting the SUV. There are 2 bucket seats in front and a back bench seat. The vehicle seated 4 adults comfortably, and I was always able to get 3 grandchildren in booster seats in back. The cargo space was roomy as well. The vehicle I purchased was fully loaded, there was nothing more to upgrade. The leather interior was easy to keep clean. Heated seats to keep you warm, sunroof, 4 wheel drive. I know there were other upgrades included, such as the automatic headlights and windshield wipers. I loved the way the windshield wipers could sense when there was rain! Moreover, the vehicle had an entertainment package, built-in CD players installed in the back of the front seats. My grandchildren adored watching CDs and it certainly made traveling with the 3 of them a pleasant experience.

Also, the GPS in the car is really helpful and has traffic and construction updates. We like the heated seats too and the satellite radio. Bredemann Lexus where we bought the vehicle has our exceeded our expectations too. But the motion detector to get the rear liftgate to go up needs improvement. The motion detector isnt very sensitive and is sometimes quicker to use the keys. Otherwise, the vehicle works just great.A:

I was looking for a nice sedan, and all the options available really blew me away. Very glad that I had decided to go with Acura over other options that were out there. A major selling point for me was the quality and sturdiness of the power windows. I was looking for something that will last me and not cost an arm and a leg when they break down so frequently. Ive had motors for windows go bad in several of my previous cars, so it was a must to find a brand with quality power windows. The windows work really well. The car is mainly for myself so I could really care less about the space, but if I do ever have passengers, Im pretty certain they will be very comfortable and that is awesome. I believe I will be staying with Acura the next time I am shopping for a vehicle.

I bought my brand new 2012 Lexus RX 350 in 2011 and luckily I bought platinum service with it. In 2016, when I feel the pulsation in my ride, I brought my car in for a checkup. The salesperson Mitchell ** told me a bunch of issues with my car and told me that I need to pay for the extra services with came up to be roughly $1,500. Thats ridiculous when I have the platinum warranty. I told him to look at my coverage and only do the work that are covered. He then told me that I need to pay the $148.71 fee since they had the technician assessed my car. That was absurd since I already told them the issue and the technician jumped into the car and took a ride and agreed with that but I have to pay for his fee?I was like whatever, if I pay that fee then they will fix my issues. After I paid the fee, Mitchell then told me that he had to call Lexus warranty service to check on the coverage and it will take a couple of days. He says those parts will be cover but he still needs to get a confirmation with Lexus warranty. So I unhappily left the service center and totally forgot about it. When I remember about the issue after I got the oil change, I went home and pulled out the contract that I first bought the warranty and surprisingly. Its listed in black and white that the rear shocks and ball joints are covered. So I showed it to the new salesperson and hes happily helping me with that. Only to replace the leaking rear shock. But not the ball joints since they are now in perfect condition because I got new tires. How is it that when I first brought in my car, those were the issues that you made me pay and now since its covered under the warranty, they are fine now? Its the same old ball joints. Time does not fix mechanism issues on automobiles without replacement.

Put in gas, change oil, just drive and enjoy. This is my fourth Lexus and I found no fault with any of them. I would not consider any other brand for my personal use. The only other cars I own are also Toyota products.

Before I begin my complaint I would like to say the car drives very well and is very sporty. I get a lot of compliments on the vehicle, then they say why is that peeling like that? My Email correspondence with Lexus about my issue: I have a 2006 GS300. I recently noticed my molding along the front windshield that runs along the top to the windshield beginning to PEEL. Really unbelievable for a luxury car. It is embarrassing and damaging to the Lexus brand to have something like this occur AT NO FAULT of my own to this vehicle. I was at the local dealership on a separate issue and was told the roof drip molding was $763.67, absolutely unbelievable. Total repair cost $1200. Why would this peel like this? This is my second Lexus. I had a LS430 before this. I have by far had more issues out of this vehicle than any others I have owned. I am just blown away and I need Lexus to stand behind their brand. I would like the roof molding repaired. This is just ridiculous to have an issue like this on this type of car.The response from Lexus: Thank you for contacting the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department regarding your 2006 GS 300, Vehicle Identification Number **. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. As an automotive manufacturer, Lexus feels its warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, and demonstrates faith in the performance and reliability of its product line. Lexus also realizes that product failures can occur on any vehicle at any time, and regrets any inconvenience this may cause. In an effort to be sensitive to the expectations of Lexus customers, we review matters on a case by case basis when a product failure occurs outside the warranty period. We have examined all information pertinent to your request for assistance, including the nature of the repair, mileage on the vehicle, and the warranty expiration date. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the repair of the front windshield moldings. We apologize that this may not be the response you hoped for. If you require further assistance, please contact the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Time.My final response: First off thank you for your time and attention to my concern, however I am not pleased with the decision. I see now purchasing a second Lexus was a mistake on my part. I understand Lexus has the right to not stand behind their product and I have the right to not purchase their product. I understand CLEARLY from the discussion from my service advisor that I purchased a USED vehicle not a new one. However as I stated I purchased a used Lexus with a verifiable service history. In fact it was a Lexus certified vehicle. I purchased a used Lexus, not a used Hyundai, Mazda, Chevy, Honda or Ford. Which by the way has a more comprehensive warranty than a Lexus. 5 years, 7 years, and lifetime on certain parts. And cost far less on the initial purchase. Now a Lexus as stated in consumer reports has a better resale and loan value. So I suppose there is the trade off.But as I stated on the outset I will not be purchasing another USED Lexus product certified or not. I will however let the message board know about my experience. I will also let anyone know about Lexus products/customer service and if the paint begins to peel for no reason, out of the blue it’s your issue. Lexus customer service will stand behind the small issues but when it comes to anything costly you’re on your own. I wonder if the door falls off next or the spoiler blows off while driving, the bumper just comes unhooked for no reason, my seat brakes apart… I mean really whats next. Even though it’s a luxury car, it’s not quality built - these are things that should not happen to this type of car. This email may not mean much in the grand picture. I am just one consumer, but I will exercise my right as a consumer. My wife and I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Audi, and Infiniti. We never had any issues like this to occur. Lexus wants nearly $1200 for a piece of plastic molding!!! Ironically I have never heard of these things happening with a Toyota, only with a Lexus. A Lexus may look good but the quality is another subject.

At 80,000 miles my car just all of a sudden went into safety mode also known as limp mode. Three lights flashed on my dash and I could not go over 35 mph. My Lexus dealer is 3 hours away. I called them they told me to drive to my local Toyota dealer which I did. They told me that my secondary fuel was broken and the cost was $2300. They see this all the time I was told. The Tundra truck has the same issue and Toyota extended the warranty from 50,000 miles to 150,000 miles. Lexus has not extended their warranty. (I was told because it was a LUXURY vehicle and the owners normally dont keep the cars long unlike Tundra owners whom keep the vehicle for a long time.) I submitted a claim to Lexus and I was called and told my claim was rejected. I was told they are still using these same engines in both models as of today! When I pulled out of my neighborhood going into the median cutting thru 55 mile an hour traffic, I expected my vehicle to have the pick up it normally had. When I went to pull it, I had NO power. I could have been T-boned very easy and not here to tell why I had no pick up. Lucky for me the traffic was very thin that day. I feel this issue is a MAJOR safety issue and needs to be addressed. This is my first and last LEXUS vehicle. I will never buy another!!!

Bought a 2008 Sewell RX350 in 2010; thought I was buying a luxury SUV, not so. First problem: Melted rubber handle on back door. Went to a Houston Lexus dealership and was told $500 to fix, couldnt just replace rubber cover, had to replace whole unit. Second problem: Chrome finish on both rear wheels is peeling - another defect. Third problem: Had to replace water pump +$1000 bill. All this on a garaged 2008 RX 350 with less than 80k miles! Im a previous owner of a 2000 Ford Explorer and 2004 Nissan Pathfinder (both kept for 10 yrs 100k miles) - no problems with either one. Last Lexus for me! Now (7/2017) an oil leak. Now (1/2018) the dashboard is starting to crack. Called Lexus to get repaired under enhanced warranty program, I was told since the SUV was bought in 2007 that the 10 warranty does not apply. NEVER RECEIVED LETTER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LEXUS OR TOYOTA!!

Brand new car today (2019 ES 350 with luxury package). Beautiful ride and handling. Sound system is HORRIBLE. I dare you to try and get adequate sound from rear speakers! With the fader its all or nothing. If you toggle to get more volume from the rear, the front speakers cut out completely. The sound was just as good in cars I owned during the 70s. I bought the car in Brossard (South Shore, Montreal). First thing I noticed is that there were 188 kilometers on the new car (about 140 miles). Thats like driving half-way from Montreal to NYC! Then, I had trouble loading a CD to listen to the sound. Turns out there was already a CD in it... Rap Music, to boot! I can only imagine where this new car has been before I got in it. Dealer (Gabriel Lexus) didnt give a damn... I was told simply to enjoy the car... My first stop was the car wash, where I got the guys to clean the windshield of film and streaks. Previously, I owned 16 Nissans and Infinitis in a row (sixteen vastly better experiences!). I hope I feel better about LEXUS tomorrow, after a good night sleep.
