2018 Hyundai Kona

The 2018 Hyundai Kona is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by the South Korean automaker Hyundai. It's known for its stylish design, compact dimensions, and a wide range of features, making it a popular choice in the subcompact SUV segment. Here are some key features and specifications of the 2018 Hyundai Kona:

Engine Options:

The 2018 Kona typically offered a choice of two engines:

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower.

A more powerful 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower.

Transmission: Depending on the engine choice, the Kona could be equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission (2.0-liter engine) or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (1.6-liter turbocharged engine). The dual-clutch transmission provided quicker and smoother shifts.

Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive was standard, while all-wheel drive was available as an option for better traction in various road conditions.

Fuel Economy: The Kona was praised for its fuel efficiency, with the 2.0-liter engine offering good gas mileage and the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine providing a sportier driving experience with slightly lower fuel economy.

Trim Levels: The 2018 Hyundai Kona typically came in several trim levels, including SE, SEL, Limited, and Ultimate. Each trim level offered different features and options, with higher trims providing more advanced technology and comfort features.

Interior: The Kona's interior was designed to be modern and user-friendly. Despite its subcompact size, it offered a comfortable and well-appointed cabin with good use of available space. Features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a touchscreen infotainment system, and available leather upholstery were available in higher trims.

Technology: Hyundai equipped the Kona with various technology features, including a touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, and available navigation systems. The higher trims often featured more advanced safety and convenience technologies.

Safety: Standard safety features included antilock brakes, stability control, multiple airbags, and a rearview camera. Advanced safety technologies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure warning were available on higher trim levels.

Reliability: Hyundai vehicles are generally known for their reliability, and the 2018 Kona typically received good ratings in this regard.

Cargo Space: Despite its small size, the Kona offered a versatile cargo area with a split-folding rear seat that could be adjusted to accommodate larger items.

As with any used vehicle, it's important to research the specific trim level and options of the 2018 Hyundai Kona you are interested in to ensure it meets your needs and preferences. Additionally, check for any recalls or maintenance issues that may apply to the particular vehicle you are considering.

I purchased a 2012 Tucson on 10/3/15 (yes just last week). I had the car NO JOKE 4 HOURS and the car began stalling out. The dealership came to pick it up that day, 4 hours after bringing it home. They have had it since. They still have no idea what is wrong with my car and I am getting the runaround. I bought it from a Chevy Dealer, did a trade in on my 2011 Chevy Cruze, which was mechanically sound/perfect. Now, the dealership tells me they had to send it to a Hyundai Dealership for further review. HELLO my father has been a mechanic for 20 years. A GM Mechanic (he lived in another state or I would have him fix it). He knew exactly what was wrong - electrical/computer issue. Once the car reaches a certain temperature the car shuts down. I relay this to the dealership and they treat me like I have no clue. Come to find out after them spending 4 long days on it, its a computer/electrical issue. I cannot believe I am going through this with a new purchase. I am stressed, pissed and paying for a car I cannot even drive/let alone have for more then 4 hours. Lastly, today I found out that there is a recall on this car. I told them I dont want this car anymore. I do not feel safe and to put me in something else. They flat out told me no because they will fix my car. Oh yeah fix my car? WHEN! I am still waiting.

We were carefully followed an advertised special and confirmed the information very precisely with the sales agent so as not to waste our time. But once we were at the dealership in Houston we were extremely disappointed and sickened by repeatedly being lied to by every level of the dealership. This is not a good company. Their policy is not honest and is very tricky and trying to avoid fulfilling the offers they make. We are not easily fooled but they tried very hard to say one thing and do another. You would be better off avoiding this company altogether! We are really very shocked and would like to prevent anyone from wasting their precious time by believing Hyundai is trustworthy!

I am hoping this will help me in some way. In Aug of 2014, I spoke to Hyundai Motor Finance (the company I am having issues with, not the dealership) asking what I need to pay and how I need to pay to get my lease balance paid down so the dealership will buy my Sonata from me. The bank told me to just pay the X” amount of dollars needed through the website. I do that and the payment hit on Aug. 20th. I go to a dealership, and they tell me a payment was not shown on their end and they will not help me. I called the bank and they said the payment, should not have been processed like that and that they will re-apply it so it reflects at the dealership. Almost 1 month later it was re-applied, on Sept 18th 2014. I go to another dealership, someone met worked at this one, gave me the same exact answer. I call the bank again and once again I get another another answer. I have 3-wayed myself, the bank and several Hyundai Dealership reps (including management) and no answer was the same. The number at the bank wouldnt show up at the dealership. My payment would not show up at the dealerships. The bank reps told the dealership to just pay a certain amount, they would not send the dealership an official notarized invoice saying how much is owed. It was pretty much just ‘take our word for it’ type of deal. Basically another dealership told me they will not go by HMF word because they do not TRUST them and has had issues. How come the Hyundai bank and dealership not work together and have the same financing system is beyond me. The dealership told me to get a refund from the bank and give them the money and they will pay the difference that way. So from the end of September till this day, I have been waiting to get a refund. I have spoken to managers and reps and everyone has ** and have not helped me. I sent $8500 in August and still waiting to get some of it back. I spoke to 4 different managers and was told I would get a call back. No one has ever called me back. I ask them if they see the notes saying for a call back and it is all written there. Either the manager is on lunch or in a meeting. Right! In Oct, I was told a check would ship Oct 4th. I call back Nov 12th asking when it was shipped and they said Nov 5th and shipped to your current mailing address. I call back Nov 18th asking where this check is and they said it was shipped yesterday, Nov 17th.” Make it worse they shipped it to my old mailing address!! They apologized for not adding the mailing address. How do they make such a mistake when they ask you for your address at the beginning of each call? I speak to a manager right after that. She told me she would put a stop to the check and get a check over-nighted to me. Ashley the manager promised to call me back that day. Never did. I call back that evening and shes allegedly on Lunch!! Sure. Call back today Nov 19th and every single manager is in the meeting. Guess what, I was supposed to get a call back. NOTHING!! NO CALL BACKS AND NO REFUND!! Top it off, this car was supposed to be turned in Aug before my car insurance was due. I have had to pay for full coverage for 4 months for a car I am not driving.

What appeared to be a small defect in pairing my phone with my car has become a terribly expensive repair cost which is THE only item on the car that is not covered under the Hyundai special 5yr/60K period. The head unit is only 3yrs/36K miles. Where was this small print?? After the dealership misquoted me $800 for a $5K item, it forced me to call their Consumer Affairs unit to open a case to investigate further. Fingers crossed, theyll agree to cover it under warranty - havent had the car for 3 years and hopefully theyll forgive the 3K extra miles I have on it currently. [email protected]

We have had three Hyundai cars, the last being an I30. The first problem was paintwork on the tailgate; rust was bubbling through the paintwork. We informed the dealer. They said that it could be stone chips without even looking at the car. They requested we take the car for photographs for warranty claim so we did. We waited for information on what was happening with the claim. When we inquired about it after three weeks, they said they had no idea what we were on about. Eventually, they found the photos and resolved the issue. We werent happy with the dealer so we changed the dealer. The car broke down after having a service due to fuel waxing in the filter. The filter is meant to be covered under a 5-yr, 40,000 miles warranty. The car had only done under 19,000. After sitting in a car for three hours and losing a days work, the dealer charged GBP77.71 for changing a spin on filter. I spoke to Hyundai UK Customer Services. They werent interested in what I was trying to say, that some fuel filters have the facility to drain water from the filter or service schedules are too long as I have had services of filters at 12,000 miles and 24,000 miles. The Customer Service department was not prepared to listen and eventually tried to pacify me with reimbursement for the cost. Then I had issues with this department. I wrote a letter to the CEO of Hyundai UK. What a waste of a stamp. I received a reply from the Customer Service department. Buyer, beware. If you buy new and you need backup, be prepared for crap customer service.

I purchased my third Sonata, a 2012, just four months ago. I purchased my first two from a dealership near my home in Houston but my third Sonata was purchased in Baytown, Tx. After only a little over 4000 miles, this Sonata left me stranded in Austin, Texas with what I was told was a failed wheel bearing. Fortunately, the wheel did not come off and I made it to a safe area. I felt that being a loyal Hyundai consumer, that Hyundai would help to address this (now third issue) with my car. The car had to go in for service for a back brake plate rubbing against the rotor the first week of ownership.I am having great difficulty getting anyone at Hyundai or the dealership to acknowledge that this Sonata has inherent issues that would warrant replacement of the vehicle. I no longer have confidence or feel safe driving this car. I even question as to whether I might have been sold a car that was unsafe to drive. When the car was towed to the dealership in Austin for repair, they first told me that they did not know for certain what was wrong with it - only that it was something serious and I would be encouraged not to drive it even across town. Many assurances of help and complete satisfaction - and none followed though.

I made an earlier complaint about this. The air bag light stays on at all times in my 2009 Hyundai Accent. I took it in for service today and it was there all day. When I checked on it, I was told the tech could not figure out what was causing the light to stay on. According to the service writer, they will have to check it one component at a time. This sounds very expensive. I cant believe this has never occurred before and I am the first Hyundai owner to have this problem. Hyundai was touted as a safety-minded company, but this car is not worth pouring money into while I still have payments.

On 3/24/2009, I purchased a new Hyundai Sonata. I had driven the car for 3 years with approximately 29,500 miles. On 3/9/2012, I had my car inspected. The depth measurements on my brake pads were front 9 and 10, rear 12 and 12. All of these measurements were in the green acceptable level which should not require replacement. The corrosion on the rotors was so excessive I was forced to replace the rotors and brake pads. I was also informed that I would have to replace the front rotors and brake pads in the very near future. In addition, I had to replace the dashboard shortly after initial purchase due to a defect and 1 year after purchase, all 4 of my wheel rims have rusted. I was told by the service manager that this was due to the PA winters. When asked that this must be happening to all Hyundai vehicles in PA, he said that was not true. I informed him that I am driving the same roads as other PA drivers. His response was, I am from California and I do not know anything about PA winters.I have purchased and driven numerous brands and vehicles over my 40 years of driving. I follow the recommended vehicle maintenance schedule and wash the vehicle regularly. I have never had to replace rotors and brake pads because the parts could not stand up to the environment. I lived in Buffalo, NY, Minneapolis, MN, Dubuque, IA, and Madison, WI and never had this happen with the Buick, Toyota, Pontiac and Chevrolet products I purchased. In PA, I have owned Jaguar, Buick, Mazda and Chevrolet and again, never had to replace rotors and brake pads due to corrosion. My vehicle warranty was under 3 years of a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. Hyundai needs to inform consumers of the problem or stop selling cars in winter environments. The winters in PA are very mild versus other areas I have lived in and 2011/2012 winter was absolutely nothing. This must be happening to numerous consumers. If that is not the case, than there is a serious problem with mine. Hyundai is doing nothing to address this problem except, let the buyer beware.

2008 Hyundai Sonata - Driving to work 2 weeks ago, I noticed the rear end of the car felt strange, some movement in the rear end. As I was driving something happened in the rear of the car. I knew I was going to wreck - my car moved so quickly and spun to right, knocking me out. From my understanding of the wreck from a man who observed the wreck - I flipped multiple times, was on my side, landed upside down and slid upside down fast and for some distance and hit a tree (?), a stump came up inside the car - Jaws of Life had to remove me. I am recovering and a guardian angel had to be with me to have survived this horrible wreck - something happened in the rear of the car - there is a recall for a crossbar in the rear suspension that can erode due to snow, salt etc...?

I have a 2014 Santa Fe Sport. At 27500 miles the car went in for its first turbo replacement. A month later another one. Then the engine, then another engine and turbo.... Last engine replacement they had my car for 69 days to end up charging me a portion of the rental which is supposed to be covered by warranty... They damaged my firewall, and then 2 weeks later the car is back in the shop for the same engine failures. They are refusing to fix my firewall which clearly they damaged taking the engine out of my car. Unreal... Worst car experience of my life. Oh.. and when I brought the car back, it was 5:30, they close at 6. I had to fight with them to even keep my car. Kendall Hyundai could care less about its customers. The company should be embarrassed how this location runs.

I recently sent my 2010 AWD to repair the front ends because of it being very noisy. I had the rotors change and brake pads changed and the suspension link fixed. When I got the vehicle, it drove just perfect. It cost me over $500.00 to fix the front ends. No noise and felt very firm. About 2 weeks after, the noise started again like it was never fixed. My warranty just expired in March 2015. That was about the 3rd time I had to take it in for the front ends. Now what shall I do???

This is typical for dealerships but theyre not long for this country. I have a senior citizens vehicle in my shop with a faulty block that was faulty from the manufacturer. I attempted simply to very parts through Hyundai and they said, You have to prepay in order to get the parts and two days later they might have the parts in the dealership. The parts for example are pistons, which with the dealership are $90.00 each for a grand total of $400 and change after taxes and other frivolous charges. The exact sane parts coming from Thailand at another place is $90 out the door, including shipping AND you receive at your door the very next day. These people are greedy and worthless. Their products stink! Their service sinks! Their greed is obvious! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

Average miles between repairs of air bag is less than 1 every 6,000. Once, there was less than 200 miles between fixes.Dealer states repair not covered under extended warranty. 2013 Hyundai Veloster: I felt compelled to submit this review because of a recent experience Ive had with the brand that has left a bad taste in my mouth, and in the interest of transparency, should be shared so this doesnt happen to another consumer. In 2012 my parents were looking to buy me a car as a graduation gift (in cash), and we looked at Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Ford. At the time Hyundai was heavily marketing the 10-year warranty, so we decided to look into purchasing a Hyundai, as this was a major differentiator and benefit from the other brands. My parents ended up working w/ a local dealer in Maryland, who helped locate and purchase an Veloster for me. The entire time, the dealer was aware that the car was being purchased for me. Since it was a gift, I was not at the dealer at the time of sale, and my mother put her name on the title (this is an important detail for later). It was never stipulated that only having her name (and not mine) could be a potential issue, as she was NOT purchasing the car for herself.Flash forward 6 years and I move to the west coast. Right after moving my car, I get it registered in California and transfer the title from my mother so I can pay my own insurance. Dec17 at 55k miles Im hearing a horrendous screech coming out of my wheels, and I find out its a defective wheel bearing (should last 100k). At the dealer they dont mention that this would be covered under my 10-year warranty, because my warranty expired at 50k. This sets off major red flags, as the front wheel bearings are part of drive train, and should be covered under the 10-year/100k mile warranty - I know something isnt right.I call corporate (1st time) and find out that the warranty on my car was just invalidated when I transferred the title, because I moved the car title under my name i/o leaving it under my mothers, which immediately invalidated the 10 year warranty (Ive had this car for 6 years/55k miles). This is a major stipulation that was not presented at the dealer when the car was being sold to my parents (this car was purchased solely for that warranty), so I call the dealer to discuss this issue as it originated w/ them, and they refer me back to corporate. I call corporate again (2nd time) and end up talking to a customer rep who was incredibly condescending and rude, challenging why I would be questioning my warranty (because my car is having issues that should be covered), etc., and was just generally nasty the entire time.I finally ask to talk to his manager, who he says will call within 24-48 hours - wont give me a name or a time (no one ever calls - I hope this conversation was recorded). I call the dealer (2nd time) and explain that corporate is not at all standing behind this, and that the dealer needs to get involved since their salespeople sold the car, and theyre the originators of this issues. Long-short, theyre doing their best to defer and stay uninvolved, saying that theyre not responsible for anything at the time of sale involving warranty. In a situation like this, a brand that stands behind what they market, and a brand that supports and values their customers would simply HONOR THE TERMS the car was marketed and sold as, and move on. Instead, what Ive found is a brand that seizes on the opportunity to shirk away from what was promised at first opportunity, both at corporate as well as at the dealer.I hadnt had an issue with Hyundai before this, but this entire experience has left a terrible mark on the brand for me. In a lifetime youll buy on average 5 cars, and I can confidently say it will never be a Hyundai again, and I recommend no one else does. Dont be duped by the marketing of a 10-year warranty - it sounds too good to be true, and it is. I regret not buying the Jeep.

When we first got our leases in 2016, we tried to set up auto withdrawal. My wife tried to set up auto pay and was told it was $30 a month. I told her she was wrong only to find out she wasnt. So my company chose to pay it. At the end of the lease we started to receive nasty messages saying we were behind on our payments. It turns out that Hyundai ceases auto withdrawal within two months of the lease end as standard procedure. Now that would be nice to know! So I had to make the payment and Western Union fee, who uses Western Union? No credit cards allowed. So I return the car to the dealer, but I still get bills in the mail. Call them again and they say I owe two payments. How can that be? I had already turned in the car! Turns out that the maturity date was the 18th and that was the date that I turned it in. OK so whats the problem? According to them the day that you turn in the car is the day before it matures and if you wait till the day that it matures, then you pay the next months payment! So its not a huge amount of money but Ill never use them again.

Told him I did and level was up. He said ok to drive but keep eye on oil level and to call Monday morning to make arrangements to bring car in. Did as instructed - called on Mon. morn. Was told to try to have car towed. Tried to find tow truck - only one the dealer suggested was 200 and about 3 hours. Called dealer back. Explained to him about tow co. and explained to him that I looked under car and that there was no oil under the motor but there was oil dripping from where they put the new axle in. He told me not to drive the car in but to have it towed in. I asked him who pays the tow bill. He stated I have to. I told him it was where they fixed it why do I have to have it towed in. His statement was until they find out the problem was it was up to me to get it in. The dealer called me on 4/28/15 - stated that the leak was from the axle that for some reason that the axle would not lock in. I asked him then who pays the towing bill, he stated to bring bill in but he doubts they will pay.Third oil leak in motor, they said was valve cover gasket was leaking again (replaced last year for same reason). Also when I dropped the car off the week before that there was a chirping noise in the front of the motor. The dealer claimed it was idler pulley and replace it now. The motor knocks real bad. The dealer said it was my fault for not having oil changed on a regular time frame, I told him that it was changed on a reg basis. He told me that the oil filter was full of sludge. I told him that You show me one motor that at 97000 miles that doesnt have sludge in it.He got pissed off and wouldnt talk until I asked if he was still there on the phone. He told me to bring in receipts for oil changes. I dont have all because there were times I changed oil and filter myself. He told me that I would have to pay to have the motor torn down at my cost at three hours labor and if there is any sludge in motor that I would have to pay them for the repair. Every time I take car to this dealer I always have problems and no other dealer will do the work on the car because of the warranty and the extended warranty. Sorry. Tried to be short and to the point as possible.

My engine gave out 12/15, its now 1/27 and its been at the dealership for over a month now. A week after the New Year, and after various calls and check ups, I finally got an answer that my warranty would be extended on the engine. The communication has not been the best at all. They offered me a rental but only in the city that the incident happened in which is 6 hours away from home. In addition, I exhausted over $1,000 on hotel/car repairs after the incident took place. I did my due diligence to submit all the info needed for my reimbursement as soon as I found out the engine was a Hyundai issue. I submitted at least 15 documents pertaining to my proof of ownership and explained that I was stranded in an unfamiliar town for two days due to my engine failing. Ive been more than patient and am still without my vehicle, which is somewhat understanding because repairs and ordering parts take time...the funds that I lost however should not take this long to recover. Since then Ive called in several times to get an update and was assigned a case manager Christina who I missed the call from and when I contacted her back two days later I havent received a response back in a week now. Ive left emails and voicemails each day, and once again contacted customer care to escalate the issue. The agents Ive spoken to were thorough and seemed to care but are powerless in rectifying issue. I work 10 hours a day and when someone has an issue, I look to rectify that problem within 24hrs. We may enter another season by the time I get my money back. Once I pay this vehicle off in full, I will not be doing business with Hyundai again, and I dont recommend anyone else to. Your time and money are not valued enough.

I bought brand new Hyundai Elantra 2014 and after 3 years my engine failed. They couldnt identify the cause behind engine failure. They ordered new engine from Hyundai for replacement. My car is at dealership since past 6 weeks and still they didnt receive engine nor any updates. Worst service I ever seen for any automobile companies. Their cars are not reliable and not long list. Poor choice to buy any Hyundai car. Its better to walk than having car from Hyundai.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Engine Failure: 05/09, car stalls and will not start. 05/10, towed to local Hyundai dealer Northshore, Vancouver. Service Manager says before the vehicle arrives that it is probably because I do not change the oil. Service manager asks me to authorize payment to diagnose problem. I ask him why I would do that as the vehicle is still under warranty. Service manager says that they cannot proceed without authorization, and tells me the bill will be bigger if the engine has failed. I provide 3/6 service records with the last completed only 1 month before engine failure. Hyundai Canada denies warranty, no relief of cost due to lack of Maintenance. I have asked for all records and inspection criteria from Hyundai Canada and they have declined to provide. Talk to the garage. Its a great way to ensure no warranty is paid. Have Hyundai service garage charge the consumer/customer to prove that it was the consumers/customers fault. $228 for the diagnostic, $3500 for the engine, $1600 for the labor.

This is my second winter with the Sonata. Whenever I put the heat or defroster on, I begin to choke and cough. There is something coming from the vents that is poisoning me. This also happens when the car is hot in the summer and I put the air conditioning on. Hyundai says it is my imagination. I think there is something in the duct work outgassing. Im about ready to go the CPSC. Other issues are the cheap tires, front cowling that is too low to part at most curbs and bumpers. BUT THE CHOKING IS GOING TO KILL ME. HYUNDAI ARE YOU OUT THERE???

I purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Sonata from the Liberty Hyundai dealership in New Hudson, MI and experienced engine problems about a year later. I took the car into the dealership and was told I would receive a loaner car when they got some in stock. After continuously calling for a few days, I was told they still didnt have any loaners. After a while they called and told me that I could not get a loaner because they needed authorization to tear down my engine. So basically the service department manager lied about giving me one in the first place. He then told me his rep authorized to tear down my engine to see what was the cause of it not running correctly and burning oil. They told me I had sludge in my engine and the oil was never changed even though I have receipts to prove the oil was changed. The manager then said the place I got it changed from really didnt change the oil and I would have to go back to them. He then said as a result, my warranty was void and it would cost me $4,200-$8,000 to replace my engine. This was not the only problem I had with this dealership. The service manager also told me there is a recall on my car. I asked if they fixed the problem for the recall and he said, “No, unless we have the engine fixed.” When I first bought the car, they told me about a tire warranty, which is also a waste of money! They told me how great it was, and that if anything goes wrong with any of my tires, the company that offers the insurance would come out change my tire and cover expenses. I learned firsthand that wasn’t true at all. I had a flat tire and called the insurance company. They told me I needed to take it in to a reputable tire place such as Belle Tire. I took it to Belle Tire and had to pay for a new tire. The insurance company told me they wouldn’t pay for the replacement, and I come to find out if they did, it would be as a reimbursement. I was only happy that the flat tire didn’t happen when I was driving or on the side of the road, because they wouldn’t have come out to my location immediately. I am absolutely displeased and angered by their service! It seemed as soon as I pulled into the service department for them to look at the car, they were not trying to help - they were telling me lies and saying anything just so they wouldnt have to fix it. Not only will I never buy from Hyundai again, I will tell those who ask me about getting a Hyundai that it is not worth the trouble. Lord forbid something goes wrong, and it will with their cars, because they will not fix it.

I am another person tricked by this dealership with the $50 test drive promotion. The salesman on site confirmed that the dealership does participate in the promotion AND he welcomed me to take part. He said that he, himself, received the $50. The salesman proceeded to say that he needed to take a copy of my drivers license. He also took my name and email address. He showed me a car on the lot but did not take me for a test drive. He said he had what he needed from me and his manager would process the promotion by the next day. I was supposed to receive it in an email. After nothing happened I asked the manager and it was obvious they never had any intention of following though on promises. First the manager told me that I was not eligible because the promotion was only good for one person in each household. Of course that made no sense because no one in my household ever took part. Then he decided on another bogus excuse and said that the terms and conditions of the promotion allowed him to not participate. This is AFTER they TOOK my information under false pretenses. They took a copy of my ID. They took my email address. And since then, they have had the nerve to use my email address to send me junk email!! What they DID NOT DO is what they promised. As another person commented, it is obvious their word does not mean much. Be careful of this place. Its hard to tell what these guys are up to?? Better to stay away!

I am uncertain if this review is specific to Hyundai Blue Link or Hyundai overall. I am writing this review for solely my experience with Hyundai Blue Link. When I originally went to lease my 2016 Elantra GT I want a remote start. The salesman who was also the sales manager informed me that I couldnt get a remote start installed because the ignition was a push button ignition, but he had a better alternative, HBL. He told me that it was an app on my phone and I could remote start my car from my phone. He said it was $99/yr, which was a better deal because the remote start was $400, and this was a 3 year lease, and he was giving me the first 3 months free! When my first renewal came my credit card was charged $198. I immediately called HBL and explained that my credit card was double charged. The representative explained that my card was not doubled charged; there is a base package called connect to care that all HBL subscribers have to have that is $99/yr, and the remote package is an additional $99/yr. I explained to the representative that, that wasnt how HBL was explained to me; I was not informed about any connect to care package that was mandatory. To compensate me for the confusion the representative extended my services by 3 months for free, but explained from here on out if I wished to have the remote package that I would also have to pay for the base package as well. One year later, I received a notification from HBL that my credit card was going to be charged a renewal fee of $99 on a given date. I called HBL and explained to them that they are 3 months premature in charging my card. They explained that only my connect to care package was extended for the 3 months, not the remote package. I explained that it was my understanding that both packages were extended, and that I didnt want the connect to care, but they were forcing me to have it if I wanted the remote package. I do not recall at this time the entire conversation I had with the representative but towards the end I told the person on the other end that I too was recording the conversation (I lied, I wasnt recording the conversation), and they replied that I didnt have the authority to record the conversation and hung up on me. I immediately called back and long story short, I told the representative that answered my call this time that HBL did not have my authorization to charge my card. The person responded with, I dont need your authorization to charge your card, and it will be charged in the amount of $99 on this date. I ended the conversation with the call center. I called Hyundai motors, and demanded to speak to someone in management. The representative said she didnt have a way of transferring me to someone in management, but she gave me an email to a manager with HBL. Turns out the person she referred me to was the head person over all of HBL. This manager, or VP, I do not recall her title other than she was the head person over HBL, completely sided with me. She pulled my credit card info from the HBL system, and gave me free services through the end of my lease. I believe she also may have fired some individuals but I dont know for sure. Fast forward to current times, I turned my lease in 2-3 weeks early and purchased a brand new Hyundai. I called HBL to transfer my remaining 2 weeks to the new vehicle, but they said that wasnt possible. I have not continued my subscription with HBL with my new vehicle, solely because I feel $198/yr just for remote start is a rip off. I would have given HBL 1 star, but because I was compensated for my troubles I felt they deserved the extra star.

This is with deep disgust that I am writing this letter to Hyundai. My familys loyalty toward Hyundai started in the year 1999 with the first generation Santro. From there, we have possessed Accent which was bought by my brother, two Verna first generation, etc. and finally we have gone for a Fluidic Verna in the year 2011. I possessed a white Verna SX CRDI ABS, which was the top variant in the year 2008. The reason for top model with ABS was due to the utmost safety concerns. But I had 3 instances of accident with my car which was due to ineffective ABS. This complaint I have raised with The Popular Motor World delegates in Cochin, Kottayam, Muvattupuzha centers in Kerala but they could not help me on the same.I had spent thousands of bucks on service after the other but the result was the same. Now, my car has covered 75,000 kilometers and even last week, I was about to meet with an accident owing to the problem of the ABS. Now, delegates in the service department is suggesting me to change the ABS Sensor. Brand loyalty is exercised by a customer due to various factors among which I believe the most important one is service quality and the ownership the company takes to give customer delight. But now when I turned back, I am surprised to find that passenger car market had given me numerous option to choose from but still I was loyal to Hyundai and all due to that decision I am now having a tough time. None of the brands are built in a day and I strongly believe that quality is not an accident but an outcome of conscious and continuous effort. Please help me to come out of this issue. Thank you.

After buying a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport in October of 2016, we noticed, at the first washing of the car that the clear coat was marred in several areas. We immediately reported it to the dealer. We took it in, he agreed that it was a defect, and sent us to several different body shops to see if anything could be done. We had it detailed (at our expense) and buffed but the marred finish was still visible. The dealer then advised us to call the manufacturing which we did. After months and months of runarounds from Hyundai Corporation, we are no closer to getting our car fixed. Their case managers dont return our calls when they say they are going to and every time we call them, we have to repeat our story countless times. Today we were informed there was NOTHING they could do. Sorry! We feel like their customer service is very poor and that stall you, hoping you will give up hope and go away. I will never buy a Hyundai again after this experience.

I purchased my 2013 Hyundai Elantra a few months ago with a remote car star
I purchased my 2013 Hyundai Elantra a few months ago with a remote car starter. I have had remote starters on my two previous vehicles. A remote car starter is a one-touch convenience which I depend upon specifically during the winter. The remote car starter was installed and when I picked up my new car, I was advised that in order to start the car with the remote, I must first press the lock button twice (lights will flash and horn will toot), and then press and hold the starter button. The remote is supposed to function within a range of 2500 feet. This is not a convenience. I have been able to start the car only a few times with the remote since then. Most times it does not start. If I am not close enough to the vehicle to see the lights flash or hear the horn toot, I have no idea whether it can actually be started. On occasion, I have even stood beside the car and tried to start it and nothing happens. This is absolutely ridiculous. I stopped by the dealership today and asked about having it removed. I was advised that it would cost me over $300 to have this done. Hyundai Canada has echoed this. I am furious. I want this starter removed and would have a simple one touch remote starter installed. This Hyundai remote starter is an expensive waste of my hard earned money. If I had known that this inconvenient type of remote starters was what they were installing, I would not have requested it.

The car itself is wonderful. I have a hydrogen fuel cell Nexo. The company is terrible. Zero stars. Worst experience. I had my car towed to this location by roadside assistance from Hyundai, due to screw that lodged into my tire, causing it to flatten. This could have been a quick fix and I was told they give roadside tow-ins priority. Hyundai roadside assistance was great but did not check or mention my car model is not serviceable at all locations. I now know. The dealer held my car hostage for 4 days, no call back (left about 6 messages) until we called Sales department on 3rd day, and they spoke rudely to my friend who was trying to help me out (dont call service department they will never pick up or call back, go to sales they will pick up). I decided on the 4th day (Tues morning) after they told me it would be ready by Tuesday morning, to just simply show up and they said it would was not ready and would be ready in 5 hours. So I said I would sit there and wait, and when I finally decided to call another tow truck and told them to pull my car out, they said the tire was there and they were going to fix it now. Funny how that worked out. I also have an app on my phone that tells me the location of the car. It somehow was in SF not in Richmond when I checked on Saturday, but was back in the dealership on Sunday. Not sure if someone took it for a joyride, but after the non-communication, I wouldnt put it past them. Avoid this place at all cost. I love the Nexo, hate Hyundai the company and will be selling my car soon to avoid this headache again.

I purchased my first brand new car with Hyundai in January 2015, a Hyundai Elantra. My car is now a year and almost 5 months old and 6 days ago my engine began revving and I immediately removed myself and car from the road. Once I parked, my car started releasing all its transmission fluid. I had no warnings, no indications of anything wrong at all. They towed the car to the dealership and I was given a rental car that I was told was going to be covered because since the car is so new. Needless to say, I received a phone call later that day telling me that this fix wont be covered under my warranty because its been deemed an impact crack in my transmission and its an incidental. My car is a year old and theyre trying to tell me that Ive caused a crack in my own transmission... Im sorry that just doesnt happen. I live on Long Island which is basically all highways, no rough terrain whatsoever. A transmission is a tough piece of machinery, they just dont crack and Im telling you I did absolutely nothing wrong. I use this car for my commute to work and pleasure on weekends. Mind you also, before I even drove it off the lot upon purchase back in Jan. 2015, I had the dealer repair not one but two dents as well as multiple scratches on the car. I didnt know I had to bring a mechanic with me to purchase a new car from a Hyundai Dealer... Clearly the conditions in which this car were kept were nothing close to ideal. How can they honestly and with good faith point the finger at me and tell me that a car thats a year old will not be covered under warranty? AMERICAS BEST WARRANTY, that is. Go scratch, Hyundai.Ive reached out to Hyundai Motor America via Email, Mail, Fax and Phone. Ive opened a case and the case manager I spoke with was BEYOND useless. Im currently awaiting an adjuster from my insurance company to go look at my car and theyre going to fight on my behalf as well. Additionally, now the rental car they ever so kindly set me up with, theyre telling me I must pay for. That car got returned after day 5 and now I have a hefty bill for a rental on top of all of this now. To say Im beyond infuriated is an understatement. The customer service and lack of consideration Ive been receiving from Hyundai is atrocious. Shame on you, Hyundai. Once this is said and done I will NOT be a returning consumer of anything Hyundai related and Ill make sure everyone else knows what JUNK this company truly produces.

My daughter purchased a certified pre owned 2013 Sonata limited turbo. She took it to have regular maintenance, so she took good care of the car. On February 2017 she was driving down the road when she heard a noise from under the hood, so her friend told her to pull over so he could check it out, when he lifted up the hood there was a red glow. He immediately told her to get out of the car. Within an minute her car was engulfed in flames. The car burnt so bad, all that was left was the trunk of the car. Had he not told her to pull over my daughter and her friend would have died in that car.She notified Hyundai about this. For one because it was still under warranty and two her car burnt to the ground for no reason out of nowhere. They took about 2 months to get back to her and when they did they only offered her what they call fair market value, which was way lower than what she paid for the car. With what they offered she couldnt even touch the kind of car she had and is still making payments on. They were rude and the one guy hung up on me when I got upset with his attitude. We have called repeatedly trying to talk to someone in charge but to no avail. We have heard from a friend of hers that someone on Facebook has had their car go up in flames also. Hyundai does not stand by their product and they also have the worse customer relations that I have ever experienced. Never ever would I recommend buying a Hyundai car.

When you call in to Hyundai there is the normal menu that you select to reach the correct department. I was trying to reach Blue Link and I was put into a phone queue, theres music in the background asking you to hold but there is no indication of how long you have to hold. After an hour and 15 minutes with no answer I hung up and tried calling again making a different selection. Ive been selected Genesis customer service. After about 15 minutes they picked up the line and informed me that Id have to call back to Blue Link and they could not help me reach them. I asked to speak to a supervisor and then found out that if you wanted to speak to a supervisor you could leave your number and they call you back in the next day or two. So I left my number and received no return phone call. I then followed up with an email to customer service and again received no communication back other than acknowledgment of my email. Its now been two weeks, 4 phone calls and three emails later. Not a single phone call for me to go full email response. If you have a Hyundai product need help they arent there, Although I like the car I will not be buying another Genesis in 2018. Just needed to let you know if ever you decide to buy a car, I suggest you buy it from Hyundai. Let me tell you why from my own experience - I bought an Elantra GLS 2013, from Hyundai Gatineau. Now wait, just wait till I tell you why you should not. After I bought my car. First of all, I get a letter saying that every year to go to where I bought my car and they will reimburse a credit card to pay the difference in gas because something about the consuming of gas is not ok, that the car should not drink so much gas. Then one yr later, getting ready to go to the States with 3 other persons and fill up my car with gas, so here I am all ready to go. Guess what, my car does not start, the radio works, the lights works, the battery is not dead so my son says, Mom, I have no idea what the hell is happening here.So I call CAA. He comes and says, Sorry, Miss, but need to take your car to the dealership garage. I tell him, But it is closed, so he tells me, I guess you will have to wait till Monday. So trip to the State, motel, friends waiting, everything down the drain. So Monday comes, me being really pissed off, I call and tell them that I am very upset with what happened and the answer was, Well, Miss we will call you and let you know what is wrong and this could happen at any dealership - no excuse. So they call me later and said, Your car is ready. You can come and pick it up, and I said, Well, I dont have a ride. He says, Well, cant you get someone to drive you? I replied, Hey, this is your responsibility. You get someone to take care of it. So he got someone to pick me up. Still pissed off, tell the guy this is the first time that I buy a brand new car and have so much issues with a car. He just looked at me like I was just a number, so I leave, get in my car and see my gas gauge. It was half full of gas, so I get out of my car and now really, really pissed off and go back inside to tell them about it and again Well, Maam, we did not drive your car. So I go and see the Manager. He brings me to see the Manager of the repair shop and looked at me like I was lying. Holy ** was I mad, so I said, I want to file a complaint, so they give me the number of Hyundai Canada. I call and tell them about what happened and yes by now, I am burning up OK. The lady at Hyundai Canada says she is sorry about what happened but We can offer you a gift for your inconvenience. I said of course yes, thinking this might be rewarding. Holy crap, I thought I was going to hit the roof. You just cannot believe what they offered me. This is truly what they offered me, a choice between a mug, a tuque, or a water bottle. I said to myself, Are you really that stupid to offer me such a gift after what I went through? I just said, Really, you can keep your gift, and hung up. True story, believe me. This is what I think about Hyundai Gatineau, Hyundai Canada, (NOTHING GOOD). Oh yea forgot to tell you what the problem was. It was a default in the wiring from the motor to the starter. I am 59 yrs old and have bought cars before and never and I mean never had issues like this. I have seen the complaints in the reviews and could not believe how many there was and nothing is being done about this. A guy needs a lawyer to deal with his problem. This is ridiculous. Why should this guy pay for a lawyer when there are so many complaints about Hyundai? What do we need to do for something to be done? You should allow us to return the car and get our money back so we can go to another dealer to buy another car. LOOK at the reviews about Hyundai and do something about it. Now I dont feel safe in my brand New car which does not make any sense at all. YES, I AM REALLY, REALLY PISSED OFF.

I bought a 2016 Rally Edition Veloster, I have had nothing but problems with it. I have already had to take it into a body shop to get the paint fixed twice and I am looking at more work now. I was told by the body shop that it’s not the issue with my paint but the metal underneath being defective. They gave me an estimate of approx $3000 to get this work fixed. Now no one from Hyundai or the dealership wants to help me out. I keep getting the same answer. Very disappointed since this isn’t my first Hyundai. It’s my 5th. So now I have a 2 year old car that is rusting from one end to the other. Oh yeah, forgot to mention it just got towed into the garage for the second time in a year for breaking down.

I bought this from a certified dealer in Myrtle Beach who told me the 10-year 100,00 was transferable to me. Otherwise, I wouldnt have bought it. Ive had problems with the airbag light. I took it to a different dealer who now charged me to fix it saying the wiring was bad under the passenger seat. The next evening, I went to move the car and put it in park and it started jumping and rolling backward. I put it in drive and went forward, put it in park and it did the same thing. I had to put the emergency brake on. I called the dealer. They cant get to the car for 3 days so I have nothing to drive, and to top it off, tell me I dont have any warranty. That Im going to have to pay for repairs. I look at the warranty info online from the Hyundai website and it says that warranties transfer over to new owners. I think this company is a sham and the dealers are worse, trying to rip us off. I am a single woman and feel like I am being ripped off many times over starting with the Myrtle Beach dealer. My mom has been a faithful customer of theirs for years and has purchased 7 cars, 5 of them being Sante Fes, from them in 9 years and has recommended them to many people. I am so angry and disappointed with this situation. I guess loyalty doesnt pay. It just makes you vulnerable to unscrupulous dealers.

I was driving along a straight road 4 weeks ago when there was a sharp crack. A hairline crack appeared down the plastic decal of the climate control system and the audio system. When I took the car to the dealer they stated that it was a scratch and not a crack and the manufacturers have refused to repair it under the Warranty (there is a 5 year Warranty on this car). I am a 74 year old lady so there are no children in this car to cause a scratch - it is very definitely a crack, but the dealer says it is not. I feel as if I am now in limbo with this.

Secret room scam artists. Leased a car for my daughter in 2011.. When the lease was up we went to buy the car out due to the overmileage on the car and decided she really liked the car. After showing her this fabulous 2014 car they made a very appealing deal to her and she agreed to lease again. They bought her car and said they would pay the overmileage on the car and she is free and clear to lease a 2014. Ohh wait.... You want to keep the same payment??? Well then they said you have to put 1800$ down in order to keep payments where they were... Wait let me speak to my manager...Away to the secret back room to see if deal can be made but first initial this to show what you want your payment to be... Huh? Umm ok? (Btw my husband and I own 5 vehicles and the only place that has a secret back room is Hyundai in Dickson city).Ok long story short she signed and gave them $1800 for this 2014 Hyundai Elantra. 1 month later I got a letter stating I owed the overmileage on the 2011 Hyundai bought back off me to get me into the 2014. When I called Greg (my sales guy) he said he talked to Ray and it was simple mistake, not to worry, its all taken care of. We bought your car, therefore we paid your overmileage...Month 2 I get a second notice that my account on the 2011 is past due with interest $1592.27... Husband and I personally went up and again Ray, max Carlos, never came out of the secret back room but again I was assured it was taken care of, we bought your car... Yet no manager had the time to come out of hiding in the secret room. Finally a collections agency calls me and tells me I am placed in collections for an unpaid balance of the overmileage on my 2011 Elantra! They advised me to go to the dealership and advise them they need to either cut me a check for this amount or be on a conference call with me to clear this up.My husband and I go to dealership and demanded to get on a conference call with the cowards hiding in the back and was denied. I repeatedly kept asking for Carlos to please come out of hiding and talk to us like adults and make the call at the desk we were at. We were then told he couldnt because his computer was different and showed more info than the ones on front. Umm ok? So we said fine we will go in the back where Carlos is and use his phone and computer screen to straighten this out. Ok heres the best part... We were told Its very busy and dangerous back there. My husband responds.. Is there a car on a jack waiting to fall on our heads??!He absolutely denied us a conference call and our issues werent resolved until 2 days later when I contacted the collections agency and told them what I experienced... She immediately called them.. Had me on line and spoke with Carlos who agreed to pay my overmileage like he should have in the first place! Bottom line its a very shady place and they are hiding something or that conference call would have not been a problem!I have never ever been to a dealership like this and dont plan on ever going back... Except with my attorney if I get one more letter. I plan on contacting the attorney generals office, Better Business Bureau (oh wait they were already reported to them) and vow to never ever do business with them again. I never once got an apology but surprisingly they expected me to thank them for trying to help lol. Ummm thanks?

I took my car to have my air conditioner serviced, it cost me about 129.00. It should still be under warranty. We bought this vehicle in the last week of December 2014 and got delivery on 2nd of January 2015. After couple of months the squeaking noise started from the sunroof. Went to dealership in March 2015 and they could not diagnose the problem. I went again after a week in March 2015 and they acknowledge the noise. They took the car and told me to pick it up at the end of the day. When I called them at the end of that day, they said, they do not have parts and it will take two weeks to get the parts.I called Hyundai Canada and talked to Customer Relation department. Their response was very cold and promised me to resolve the issue ASAP. Nothing happened for two weeks. Hyundai Canada also refused to give me a rental car as they said it is not a safety issue. But the dealership had taken the roof off and the car was not drivable. After many follow ups over the phone with Hyundai Canada, nothing happened. They continued promises without any outcome. They dealer said they have no control on parts. It took more than four weeks to receive the parts and finally in April they gave the car back to me.After driving for a week the squeaking noise started again. Went to dealership and they said that the mechanic who repaired the roof has gone to his home country and will not be available till the end of April 2015. I called Hyundai Canada and they gave no response. They said that they are sorry but there was no solution to the problem. I requested them to take the car back and give me a new one. They said Hyundai Canada do not have policy to buy back. Followed up with dealer many times with no positive response. In May went back to dealer and they did something to stop the noise. The noise stopped for a week and again started. Now the noise is so annoying that it is hard to concentrate on driving. I feel that I will meet with an accident as my attention is diverted due to noise.I have told Hyundai Canada and dealership that this piece is defective but they are not listening. I called dealership to look into this again and they have told me that they dont have a vehicle to lend and I am in waiting list. I called Hyundai Canada and spoke with Customer Relations and their response is the same as before. They continue to mention that they are sorry and trying to do their best to fix this. I am been trying to resolve this issue since last seven (7) months with no possible resolutions. I strongly feel that I am cheating and robbed. I am paying my car payments very regularly. We are middle class hardworking family and it is hard to meet ends. This is giving us lots of stress and anxiety which we do not want. We bought a brand new car to have peace of mind but this issue has taken all the peace away.I feel that as a consumer I have no rights and my hands are tight as Hyundai Canada and Dealership are playing games. On October 4, 2015 the speedometer blacked out, which is not showing the speed, fuel, fuel consumption, outside temperature, heating/cooling as well as the seat belt warning is showing. I called the dealer and they told me to bring the car on October 7th, 2015. They took the car and when I followed up with them at the end of the day on October 7, 2015, they informed me that the cluster (electronic part) has failed and they do not have the part. They will let me know when they will get it. Also they have taken apart the sunroof and for that they do not have the part. The service manager is telling me on Friday October 8, 2015 they still dont have the part. I followed up again on Friday October 9, 2015 and they didnt receive the part. The manager told me that he has no clue when the parts will come. The status is not showing as backorder as well. The Thanksgiving long weekend passed and I called the dealership on Tuesday October 13, 2015 in the afternoon to inquire for the status. The manager is telling me that they still are not aware of the status of the parts. He said, he will call me when they know the status of the parts, which after probing for many times, he said he cant tell me the exact day when the parts will arrive as the system is not showing anything. Also Hyundai Canada tells me that I am not entitled for a rental car as I have not bought the extended warranty??? The car remains with the dealer with no definite answer (October 19, 2015). Called Hyundai Canada and my calls were transferred to the voicemail for the customer relations. Waiting to hear from them.

Worst experience of my life. I bought a 2017 Veloster, drove it off the lot with 6 miles. Within a year I’ve had my power steering column replaced, the motor for my sunroof and my MOTOR BLEW AT 28K MILES! If you have any work done to your car, expect not to hear anything for 3 weeks and them keeping your car for 2 months! The techs there take everything as a joke, and laugh about how many problems you have with their cars. One of the techs even stated if we told you how bad they are, how would we sell them? I took my car there the month before complaining that it was driving weird, they never even test drove it and stated everything was perfect yet a month later I was left stranded on the road, yet again. Please whatever you do, stay far away from the Tampa Location and Hyundai ALL TOGETHER!!! Worse choice I ever made, I regret buying that car!!!

In February 2010, I bought a new 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring from a RT.44 Hyundai dealership in Raynham, Massachusetts. I was very pleased with the vehicle, still am. Here is the issue: About a week ago, I came out to the Touring and noticed that the passenger side front bumper cover was just hanging on and was no longer attached to the fender. I looked to see why it wasnt attached and saw that the tab from the bumper cover that secures it to the fender on the inside had completely sheared off from the inside of the bumper cover. It was not broken, chipped, or cracked it was sheared completely off in a straight line the whole tab. I had an oil change scheduled the next day with RT.44 Hyundai. When I arrived, I informed my service adviser about the bumper problem.Later when I went to pick the vehicle up, I was informed by the service adviser that RT.44 Hyundai would not cover the replacement of the bumper cover due to the fact that the mechanic found two hairline scratches that never even broke through the clear coat on that side of the bumper cover. These scratches that I had never seen before where so small and light they look like it was made by a tree branch or something and would buff out with compound and a towel. There was no other damage around the surrounding area at all. This was the reason they stated why they would not cover it under the warranty. I then asked to speak to a service manager and brought him out to see the vehicle and showed him the bumper cover. When we walked out to the vehicle, it was drizzling rain and I showed him the cover and let him look it over. He never once mentioned even seeing any scratches around the area. He wasnt made aware of them until we went back inside and he brought my information up on his computer and saw what the mechanic had written. He then stated it would cost me in excess of $1,000 to have the bumper replaced. Im a single mother and do not have the financial resources to lay out that kind of money.I then sent an email to Consumer Affairs of Hyundai of America and was instructed by them to bring my vehicle to another Hyundai dealership for them to look at it. I brought the vehicle to another Hyundai dealer (the closest being 20 miles away). They put the vehicle on the lift and validated everything I was stating on a work order, that no damage was found to cause that bumper tab to snap off the way it did. So now with this in hand, I felt pretty good about my chances of getting the bumper cover replaced under warranty. I contacted Consumer Affairs again and told them of the outcome and that I had gotten a work order from that dealership confirming everything I was stating. The T2 supervisor from Consumer Affairs then told me I would have to go back to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and rehash it out with them as she stated they had no authority to tell a dealership to honor the warranty. I had done everything they asked me to do at my expense just to have them tell me that I would have to argue with the original dealership over it again. I have kept all the emails correspondences with Consumer Affairs of Hyundai and the work order from the other dealership. So as of today, Im driving around with my front bumper cover held on by tape. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I have had several trips to Hyundai for the airbag light staying lit all the time. They said that there was a problem with the sensors under the drivers seat and fixed it. The problem continued, and after the third time, Hyundai said they could not cover it under warranty. Then a recall letter was sent to me, and I had it fixed at no charge. Last week, I was in an accident and totaled the car. I hit someone going at least 40mph, if not more, and the airbags still did not deploy. Nobody was hurt. One of the selling points the dealership used was the safety ratings and the airbags. What a joke.

I bought an Elantra GT with 24,500 miles on it on April 1st. Right away we realized the car had several issues, one of which being the fuel economy. We averaged 17-18 mpg in town and never more than 26-27 on the hwy. Then we noticed a hissing noise when shifting, and a ping/chatter to the engine while accelerating. Then we noticed a metallic ringing when the A/C is on. The CD player was also non-functional. There were some other smaller issues as well, but Hyundai has been working to resolve them. The CD player was fixed, as with some other small things. The engine and transmission noises, poor fuel economy, and metallic ringing, were not able to be diagnosed after several attempts. Now Hyundai is working with me to do a manufacturer Buyback/lemon claim. They are extremely polite, prompt with responses, understanding of my situation and more than willing to help me. Within hours of contacting them via email, I had an open case with its own case number and everything. Currently they are confirming that nothing can be done to fix the car, then we will move forward with the buyback. They have stayed in constant contact, and always in a timely manner. Very pleased with Hyundai overall. If you have a legitimate case, Hyundai will provide legitimate help.

I have been contacting Hyundai Motor Finance to try to get them to transfer my title from GA to NJ since April 2014. It is now October 2014 and I still cannot register my vehicle in NJ because they have not transferred the title. I have sent them three request and they claim to have not received the first two, despite my fax confirmations. They are currently preventing me from complying with NJ vehicle registration laws because I cannot register the car without the title. They also will not let you talk directly to the title department, instead making you talk to a customer service agent who acts as an intermediary between you and the title department. This inefficiency is now causing me to break the law, as my vehicle is unregistered and I cannot register it. Ive now had to take a day off work to go to court to explain why my vehicle isnt registered. Im not sure what to do. I cannot keep driving a car that cannot be registered.

Consumers please beware when buying Hyundai car. I bought Hyundai Sonata 2011 in June 2014 and the car is a piece of crap. So far I have this car almost 2 years and I already spent tons of money fixing it. Something is always wrong with it. The electrical, the gas, the brake, the fuel line... In addition I received 3 different recalls notices that the car is not safe to drive... Really 3 recalls in less than 2 years? What the **??? I have not even driven 100,000 miles or 5 years on this car yet and have spent thousands of dollars fixing the piece of JUNK/GARBAGE. So stay clear from this brand and do your homework thorough. Dont just Google it because they paid lots of advertisements money to be on top of the search page so all you see is great things about this piece of CRAP. Instead looking at buyers comments on various websites, or ConsumerAffairs to get a real picture and its condition before you buy. Personally, they LOST me as a customer forever. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HYUNDAI AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW ABOUT THIS. Very angry Hyundai car buyer.

My husband is in the military. We contacted Hyundai about applying the SSRA (Soldiers & Sailors Relief Act). When they applied this they lost 5 of my payments. I spent weeks trying to get this corrected. I have been treated like a criminal, talked nasty to, and demanded I pay my past due balance. If you pulled their statements online, it showed every payment, the payment history though, disappeared. They required me to send them proof that I had made all these payments. I had to go to the bank, and stamped copies of the electronic transactions. Then, they almost didnt even accept the bank statements. Finally, after going through several people, they corrected the payments by the end of January. When they corrected my payments, we lost the SSRA. So, I called in again on 2/8/12, and spoke to a manager about the SSRA. They assured me, and promised me that this would be corrected by the weekend. Well, it is the weekend, and once again, my payments, since September, have disappeared yet once again. They are saying I owe over $2,000, and I am not even sure they got the SSRA applied correctly. David in California is the only person in the entire company they say that can apply the SSRA. Really? For a company this large? They see they are trying to reverse my payments once again. Heres a new problem, they are now showing 90 days late on our credit report, and mind you, my husband is an active military, and this could cost him his career. I have requested letters 3 times from Hyundai, that this is no fault of my own, and the matter has been corrected. It is always they dont do letters, but will forward to the correct department. I am at my wits end, and have never paid any payment late. I have worked for my credit very hard, and it is not fair that a company can just mess up your account, and you pay the price.

Purchased a 2013 veloster turbo in feb 2014 off showroom floor... Purchase price 39 588 with extended warranty which at time of purchase was told warranty was bumper to bumper... Not long into owning the car problems started... Sensors navigation power windows airbag replacement just to name a few... All covered by Hyundai warranty... Now at 114 km was informed car needs new engine... which of course extended warranty will not cover... They deemed it normal wear and tear... Really?... When I complained to canada hyundai and ontario hyundai nobody wants to pay for it... Customer service at hyundai canada was appalling. Was basically told Oh well too bad you are on your own... Would not even give me a number for corporate hyundai...Now my question is... This make and model has already had a recall on the engine... Hyundai fix a computer upgrade. My question is how can hyundai canada sell this car on the market knowing from the get go this 2013 turbo had engine problems... Supposedly by the 2014 model they fixed the issues... Unfortunately this does not help me... The attitude from canada hyundai when I approached them for a fix was... not their problem... Would not do one thing to help me... Washed their hands of it... Hyundai canada once they get your 40.000 dollars thats it... I asked them who pays 40.000 for a car and needs an engine replacement at 114 000 km... HYUNDAI... Their customer service needs revamped... So disappointed in Hyundais reaction...Would advise do not purchase hyundai as they certainly do not stand behind their product... They passed off the problem to the consumer. This is a prime example of a cheaply manufactured car for a very expensive price... Hyundai canada would not help me at all... Very rude and unprofessional head office... My advice stay away from purchasing a Hyundai veloster turbo or any hyundai product... When you have problems with their vehicle they are certainly not going to help you, as was proven in this case... Totally gobsmacked at Hyundais response...

I purchased a Fluidic white car from Mody Hyundai (Malad W) in Mumbai, India. It was delivered to me on Sept. 7th, 2011. My car registration no. is **. I drove my car the 1st time on Sept. 10th when the car broke down at 3 in the morning. The gears refused to change. It would not change to any of the gears and the car stopped. I waited for 45 minutes on the road and finally I could drive my car. My car again broke down on Sept. 17th. This was the 2nd time I drove my car. The same problem persisted. The gears were not changing. I called the Hyundai guys and they insulted me when I went to their off in Malad West. They said that maybe I was changing the gears by pressing half clutch. My car broke down the 3rd time on Oct. 8th when I went to hotel Sea Princess. The valet guys said that the car refused to start. They pushed started the car and I got my car home. I finally called the toll free number for Hyundai on 25th. They took my car to their service station (Mody Hyundai) at Goregaon W. Even the Hyundai guys could not start my car. Nobody bothered to call me and update with the status of the car. I kept calling the Hyundai sales people. Finally, they called me on 11th and said that there was a problem with the starter motor, which they will replace. I kept telling them that there was a problem with the gear box but they did not listen. They, I again called on 12th. This time, they confirmed that there was a problem with the gears too and they would replace it. Hyundai got my car on 13th with a scratch on the front. This time, they blamed me saying that the scratch was on the car when I was driving. I refused to take my car and told them that I will accept it only if they remove the scratch. It has been a very embarrassing situation for me when my car broke down thrice in the middle of the night and once at a 5 star hotel. I requested the Hyundai guys to replace the car, as I had not even driven the car for 100 kms. and I faced so many problems. However, they refused saying that since it is under warranty, they will replace the parts and give my car back.Since I stay alone in Mumbai and work at night, it is very risky for me to drive a faulty car which breaks down every now and then. I request you to help me get my car replaced from the Hyundai people as this is bad customer service.

On Oct 24th 2018 I activated my Blue Link via a dealer. I was given 3 months test of the system on my 2014 Equus. The next day I tried to use the system but it was not active. I called the service and told me 24 to 48 hours to get to my system. After the 48 hour mark the system still not activated. I called again on the 25th then the 26th still not activated. I was instructed to drive around to see of it would help, but nothing. When I called again on the 27th they apologized for the inconvenience but nothing they could do till a day or more passed. Upon calling on the 28th still not activated. Called again on the 29th and they apologized and gave me an extra month free to try the service. I was told it should be up any time. By end of day on the 29th still not working. On the 30th of Oct, I was told my service could not be started till the previous owner service was deactivated as I was told it was not fully deactivated in their name. They would need to deactivate my account and the original owners account before my service could work. After an hour on the line I was told they would call within 2 hours to let me know it was complete and my service turned on. I called after 3 hours and was told my account was cancelled and would need to be charged 279.00 to turn it on as I cancelled my trial. I was livid as I explained that the tech cancelled my service not me, and I wanted my service trial back because it was never turned on. Going back and forth they told me nothing could be done and we went around for an hour plus. No matter what I told them I would not get my service trial back. They directed me to call another number to complain, when calling the other number was told it was not a complaint line but another Blue Link center. I was lied to and cheated out of my service trial and fully pissed off they did this to me. Ive never been treated so badly by a company in my 50 years of life on this planet. Being lied to, is appalling by anyone. This company could care less about customer service. I was never disrespectful toward anyone on the phone, just in case you wondered. I was upset but not overly. I was so upset and confused by their actions. They never offered me a solution. Horrible in my eyes.

My 87 year old Mother took her 2010 Hyundai Elantra to her local dealer who has always done her oil changes. She received a call from the service manager telling her the underside of her car was so severely rusted that repairs would be so expensive. He suggested she get rid of her car stating that it would be dangerous for her to drive it. Her car has 19,000 miles and is two months away from being paid off after a five year auto loan. The car had last been brought in for an oil change in December 2014. No one ever mentioned any concerns about rust only five months ago! So, apparently all of this rust happened in a period of four months! I went with her to pick the car up. We are scheduling a second opinion for this week. Something is just not right. To be continued.........

Hyundai is comfortable, has reasonable gas mileage, some luxury with leather seats and sun roof, rear window defroster and wiper, good stereo system, top carrier rack and cup holders in doors. It is also compact enough for one person, yet roomy enough for four people. It gets me anywhere and it has good consumer ratings. However, I wish there were more seat adjustments, air temperature control, heated seat temperature control, side mirror defrosters, different style of rear wiper so it doesnt get taken off in automatic car wash and heating system that doesnt blow warm air when fan is off. It also had some electronic issues early on that were covered under warranty. Rear wiper torn off in car wash twice. Must wash by hand.

My sons car was totaled a month ago and it was a leased vehicle. Geico was on the phone call when we called and got the lease payoff amount. We had put a large amount down at the lease signing and had made our payments. The payoff was $17242 and we negotiated with Geico for $21762.00. We were told by Hyundai finance that the overage although rare would be sent to us. A month go by and no check. I called. They said that the account would be closed on the 8th of July and a check would be sent out. Called to check on the 10th of July, today and now I am told that too bad they keep all of the proceeds and we get nothing. That is not what they said when Geico was on the phone. They have lied and changed their story so many times. I will never buy another Hyundai!

I experienced the rear window molding coming off of my 2005 Hyundai Sonata
I experienced the rear window molding coming off of my 2005 Hyundai Sonata about 2 years ago. We took the car to the dealership and were told the cost would be $400 per window to install new molding. This is the flimsy silver molding set at the top of the windows. Forget it. I was not about to pay that amount of money for the install. It has been sometime and my husband and myself have noticed that all 2005 Sonatas we come across in our geographical area have the rear window molding missing. I phoned Hyundai Consumer Affairs today to see what stance Hyundai would take on this issue. Sorry, your car is no longer under warranty. Hey, guess what, according to the Hyundai dealership, Earnhardt, it wasnt covered under the warranty anyways. It was cosmetic.Like some of you, I have owned several Hyundais and have recommended people to purchase the vehicle. If Hyundai will not take ownership of the poor workmanship on this year/make for this issue, I will turn on a dime. Not only will I never buy a Hyundai again, I will make sure everyone I know does not either. Hyundai has come a long way since my first Elantra in 1991 and I would hate to see them fall on their faces due to new glue, new molding, bad line employee or what have you that caused this overwhelming mistake. Please, Hyundai, own up.

I have owned a 2001 Hyundai Elantra for 3 years and have owned 3 Hyundais over the last 20 years. I have always been a loyal Hyundai owner, but I am now reconsidering that thought. Over the weekend, my car broke down when the control arm broke and left me right where I sat. After some research, I have discovered the part that broke was, at one time, under a recall. I called the Hyundai Customer Assistance Center yesterday, November 26, to inquire about the recall and was told that recall has expired. When I asked about the expiration date of the recall, I was told I would have to call my local dealership to find out when it expired. I couldnt understand why I would have to call the dealership when I was speaking to a case manager as he continually referred to himself as. I refused to call the dealership as someone from Hyundai had to tell the dealership when it expired. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told he was the case manager and his supervisor would tell me the same thing. I again asked for the supervisor and was told he is very busy. I was then put back on hold and had my husband go ahead and call the dealership about the recall and was told the recall was expired but he couldnt tell us when either. When the case manager came back to the phone, his story changed to my car didnt fall under the recall for the control arm issue. So, I still dont know if my car was part of the recall but the recall expired or my car wasnt part of the recall even though its the same problem that caused the recall to begin with. I didnt get anywhere with the case manager at the assistance center nor did I get to speak to a supervisor. I even left my name and number and was told he would return my call but I didnt hear back from him. At this point, my car is still where it broke down and so far, Hyundai has been zero help. I really dont want to put a lot of money into a car that I no longer have faith in the company that made it.

Elantra 2012. Made regular maintenance at the Agent every 5000 km. (12 times, now 55000). Went for a vacation & when I was back, suddenly no AC. Went to the agent and I was told that the AC has to be replaced all compressor, expansion valve, ... etc. I am 8 months after the warranty. The question is: if the regular maintenance doesnt protect your car from a sudden big problem (temperature here is around 49°C), why I have to do it? Either the car is junk and this is the normal lifespan, OR I was deceived by the agent just to pass the warranty and fix it CASH.

Briefly, after I got in my car and closed my door, it didnt latch well. I had been having problems with it lately. So while I was moving, I opened and then closed it again but while I was closing it, the lock mechanism engaged and as it was about to latch and lock, it bounced back open. So I quickly reached for it to grab it as a vehicle was approaching. I was in a parking lot at the time traveling at about 15mph. It had swung open so far that when I reached for it, my momentum shifted in such a way that I actually fell out of the car landing on the pavement. I was traveling at about 15mph. My car struck a parked vehicle. Damage to it was minimal. Damage to mine was significant. No pedestrians were struck, but I sustained a neck injury.

I leased a car for 3 years. According to the sales person, he told me that the service on the car would be included during the lease period but that wasn’t the case. It seems that he just said those things to make a sell since he was being very pushy from the start. The worst part is that he never disclaimed that by the end of the lease, I would be charged $500 plus $170 for some minor scratches that can occur during a 3 year period. When I returned the vehicle they basically force you to keep making business with them by leasing or buying a new car and that’s the only way they can forgive that $500 fee. When I called to claim, they told me that the contract is not with the dealer but with the company; even though it was signed at the dealer. They also don’t accommodate payment arrangements. Before leasing a car with companies like this, do some research and find what is convenient for you. Instead of dealing with a seller who would say anything just to get his commission and take advantage of you, if you don’t have experience in the subject.

I am on my 4th consecutive Hyundai, and for the most part find them to be good value. BlueLink, on the other hand has changed my opinion of Hyundai. The customer care service, which is required to get any other service, is not valuable and Ive never used it. I paid over $3K extra for a package with push button start so I could take advantage of the remote start feature. Its ridiculous that I have to pay $200/year to use this. I would actually be much better off to pay to have a remote car starter installed. Id do this if I hadnt paid so much for the push button start feature. Ive tried calling Hyundai to see if they could offer any sort of promotional rate, especially considering that now new owners get 3 free years of BlueLink. I tried calling BlueLink customer service on several occasions and hung up after being on hold for over 30 min each. Finally, after a 45 min hold I got through and the rep was able to offer me absolutely nothing. I let him know that when I trade next time, I will be inclined to consider something other than Hyundai.

Bottom of the car, which is covered with what appears to be black cardboard, began peeling off. Apparently driving in the snow is considered reckless driving and not covered by warranty. I brought my 2008 Sonata in 2009 from Carmax in MD, one previous owner and low mileage. When I took it to my mechanic (Sams Auto Repair), they say it was a cam sensor problem then said it was 2 quarts low on oil. The engine light came back on after driving 10 miles and noise got worse, so I towed it to a Hyundai dealership. They said that the engine had noise from the bottom and top due to it not getting enough oil. They will charge me $5,500 for a rebuilt engine and install it. They said that the possibility of a defective engine was moot because I didnt have documented receipts for my oil changes.

I lease cars every three years, so Ive had many cars throughout my lifetime. Ive never written a bad review about a car or car company until now. I just turned my 2014 Sonata in early (40,000 miles) and decided to pay off the lease/lose a lot of money because I was scared for my safety. My heating and cooling unit had to be replaced, the shifter had to be replaced because it was making my car stall, the wheel wells tore off because they were made out of cardboard, the clasps on the armrest broke because they were made of cheap plastic, and the back seat material pulled apart because they only sewed part of the seats. Then there was the recent recall for the engine and seat belts at the same time. The seat belts were installed incorrectly and the engine had an issue where it could stall spontaneously while driving. The quality control for this company is ridiculous. Then the last time I took my car in to be repaired I started getting messages and flyers, within a week, from Hyundai about the car I own (I didnt own the car) and how I should extend my warranty. This has led to random warranty companies calling about extending the warranty to now receiving multiple calls a day from credit card scammers. This never happened before I had my car repaired as Im very careful about who gets my number. Clearly my number was given out by Hyundai and now its in the wrong hands. I am beyond disgusted with this company.

We received a new car warranty with 4 years remaining and a used car warranty which would replace the new car warranty for additional 10 years. We took our car to Merced Hyundai for servicing. They had serviced our car before. I said the engine was making a funny sound. I spoke to the technician who said that Hyundai and Kia engines had been having breakdowns. They begin to work on the car and suddenly they ran into some difficulties. Suddenly Hyundai wanted all kinds of paper work. This went for some time. I mentioned our warranties. Hyundai Corp. said they do have a new car and used car warranty. They could proceed with repairs with no cost to us. Then the nightmare began.Suddenly they couldnt find parts for our car. The mechanics have been wonderful. They have been looking everywhere. Hyundai Corp. seems like they could care less. At this date we are still waiting for parts to complete the repairs. We are senior citizens my wife is 74 and I am 78. We are on Social Security with part time jobs to make ends meet. Since Hyundai said they could not give us a loaner, we have had to rent a car for seven (7) weeks now. This is a small fortune to us. We have had to go into our savings account to pay for this. We are running out of money. We have talked to Hyundais customer complaint service. All they say is that they are working on it?? Lately, for the past two weeks they have not returned any of our calls for updates on our complaint. Regina seems to have disappeared. We are running out of money and need help. WE NEED OUR CAR!! As of this date, they are still waiting for parts to repair our car. Soon we will be forced to file for bankruptcy because we have to pay the $300 a week to rent a car....for no reason since Hyundai has turned their backs on us. We will have to give up our rental because there is no more money to pay for it....so, we will no longer be able to get to our jobs. Our golden years have become a waste and we are terrified!Frank and Joyce

In April 2018, 11 months after purchasing a new Hyundai Tucson, the transmission began hesitating and shuddering. I complained at Weimer Hyundai and was told to read the owner’s manual and watch some videos on YouTube. These did not address the issue but I was told repeatedly that was how that particular transmission behaved. Then between Jan 25 and Feb 5, 2019, I had 4 service appointments at Weimer to address 4 issues. The continuing transmission hesitation and shuddering now with skyrocketing RPMs, the AEB dash light and alert dings continuously going off, 20+second hesitation upon takeoff and when attempting to increase speed after slowing down or in stop and go traffic, and the driver door lock button malfunctioning. Nothing was repaired.I opened a complaint with Hyundai Customer Service and was told to take it to Jenkins Hyundai. After waiting for 3 weeks for a service appointment opening, on Mar 11, I was told it could be a safety issue if the AEB were in a crash/near crash situation and didn’t operate as designed. I was told a 2 different wiring harnesses were being ordered and that it should be in for the repair within the week and I would have a loaner car. They would call when the parts came in. After not hearing anything for several days, I talked to Hyundai Customer Service about the lemon law buyback. They said it would take 30 days to reach a decision. Finally they sent an email saying they would not do a buyback. Finally on April 8, my wife went to Jenkins and spoke with a sales manager who said he would call her back that afternoon with an update. He did not call. On April 9, my wife returned to Jenkins and spoke to a service manager who told her the wiring harnesses were on back order. He said a serious issue had also affected massive numbers of Subaru’s and that because of that all the mechanic appointments and loaner vehicles were booked for at least 4-6 weeks out. He said he would contact Hyundai Customer Service, a couple of dealerships 90+ minutes away and his own staff and prepare a plan. From this point he wanted to handle everything via email to create a paper trail. He said he would have everything ready by noon on April 10 and would call with the plan. Instead, he emailed a request for videos of the issues. By April 11, the A/C had stopped functioning properly and by April 12 even the date and time were not displaying on the dash or radio screen. My wife submitted all this information and several videos to them. DON’T buy a HYUNDAI!

I want to share my bad experience with Freehold Hyundai. I wanted to buy a Sonata. When I contacted them, their salesman Frank quoted a figure which was as per our budget, so we decided to visit them. Antony was the salesman who attended us. I must say he was a good salesman. But when it came to quoting the final figures, he again and again went to his manager Pete **. The figures which they quoted were much higher than what they had initially quoted and we were surprised to hear them. I dont know why they called us to waste our time when we had clearly told them our budget in the beginning. Finally, Pete ** called me inside his cabin (Antony asked my wife to stay out). Pete was such a rude sales manager. I really pity people who hired him. He cracked some jokes, which were personal, and I didnt like them at all. I dont know how he could speak in such a manner to his customers. Very rude, ill-mannered and a guy with attitude problem. He doesnt deserve to be a manager at all. His customer handling is so poor that I dont know how he is running this dealership. In my life, I have never met such an ill-mannered sales manager! There was another salesman in Petes cabin, who was laughing on all this. I felt so insulted. These people are so unprofessional. Pete didnt even offer me a seat to sit. He was sitting in front of me as if he was my boss. I think a roadside vendor has better sales/customer handling skills than Pete. When I showed my displeasure on all this, Pete tried to make the deal. How could he even think I will ever do business with him or recommend his dealership to anyone? This guy is so insensitive about his customers. I am giving this rating for poor customer handling, wrong price commitments and for the insult I faced there.

My 2008 Hyundai Veracruz with roughly 60,000 miles on it has been at the dealership for two weeks not running. There is damage to the engine and excessive sludge build up which has also damage parts around the engine. I was told that the work is not covered under warranty because it is due to lack of maintenance. I was able to produce receipts that proved I get scheduled oil changes on my car and passed on this information to the dealership. I then called Hyundai North America and filed a complaint and requested to have this work covered under the warranty since it happened from no fault of my own. It has now been two weeks and a Hyundai North America regional manager has failed to reach out to me and contact me in regards to this. I call and email and still have no answers as to what is going on with my car. I have just received a phone call from the dealership that they received an email and that Hyundai will not cover the engine damage because they still find it happened due to lack of maintenance. Nobody from Hyundai North America has reached out to me to discuss these findings. This is the second Hyundai I purchased because I was sold on Americas Best Warranty. This could not be less accurate. The customer service has been below par and the fact that they will not stand behind the warranty and fix what is broken is worse. I will never purchase a Hyundai vehicle again and I ask you to take my experience into consideration before you do. I understand that there is no guarantee that nothing will last forever and I accept that, I can deal with that. The customer service from Hyundai is what is completely dissatisfying and unacceptable.

Two weeks ago we were driving and all of a sudden the engine shut off, no warning lights were on at all at the time this happened. We had Hyundai Roadside assistance tow the vehicle, (waited 2 hours for them) to the closest Hyundai dealer. The next day the dealer called and said the engine was shot, and they had to take it apart to send pictures to the corporate office. 5 days later they called and said Hyundai denied the warranty for Lack of Maintenance. The car only as 46,000 miles, and we have had oil changes. The dealer said they found sludge in the engine. Hyundai never asked for any receipts for oil changes, and just denied the claim. I then called the 800 customer service number, to be told that there was nothing they could do, all complaints were handled through the Better Business Bureau. I asked to speak with whomever denied the claim and they refused. So now I have a complaint into the BBB, but Hyundai has not responded. I dont understand how they advertise the best warranty and then deny all claims. I have researched the internet and found many people has had the same thing happen to them. How is this legal? Our vehicle is leased, so they know we have to fix it before the end of the lease. This seems like a scam, since we have to fix it. We also found at least 5 other Hyundai owners who reported the exact same symptoms as ours on the same make, all of which were denied by Hyundai. I will never buy another Hyundai, they are criminals running a huge scam. Dont believe the salesman when they tell you they have the best warranty. They dont honor it. Dealer told me there is nothing they can do to help. They said that they have seen sludge in the engine in other Hyundais and ours was not that out of the ordinary. However they claim their hands are tied, and all warranty decisions are made by corporate.
