Experienced similar dashboard cracking experience. Dealer has submitted photos to the Corporate office 3 weeks ago. Still waiting. What happened to... in pursuit of perfection?
Leased 2017 GX 460 white SUV. Paint discoloration, and the called “leather” seats are crap. They are stained and the dealer cleaned the seats and now I got pieces missing. I’ve never been so disappointed and upset. So besides the above mentioned. They installed two TV’s on each seat and there’s a huge color difference between the top headrest where the TV are installed and the actual seat. I always owed the TVs that come installed from the manufacturer not aftermarket by Lexus. So when we take the car for the scheduled maintenance now if you need a loaner it takes 3-4 weeks for the Lexus dealership to give an appointment date. To top it out they don’t wash nor vacuum the car.Basically, you are better off going to the Hyundai, Honda or Kia dealership. Pay way less and get excellent customer service and no stress. Trust me Lexus IS way overpriced for the quality. Example. My friends wanted a Lexus just like ours but they started noticing all the defects and they got an BMW SUV. You should see the difference. First in the customer service was excellent and the luxury and technology of the car. Lexus are all outdated and with many issues on quality. There’s something serious going on with the quality control department. Reported all and they promised me back in November, then in December to order me a black on black Lexus. The pigeon died on the way! It’s August and nothing. And we have been dumb enough to recommend family and friends to the torture and they have done business but consideration for us. Watch when my lease is over that I’ve driven that nasty looking car how the black on black will magically appear but to their surprise they lost another customer. Last Lexus that I purchase or lease.
My car failed due to the battery compartment taking on water. I went to the dealership and they advised me to put in a claim with my insurance company. My insurance company denied the claim as there was a service bulletin from 2009 about how to repair the issue. Needless to say my car is out of warranty and has over 130,000 miles on it. Regardless I was never aware of the bulletin. Had I been made aware of this I would have had the car fixed at my expense to avoid this issue. Why would they relay to the insurance company and not notify the customer and keep this a secret. Was it to avoid a recall of the cars? There is a blog site where the issue has come up on these cars. Where there not enough complaints? On a positive note corporate was advised of my issue and has agreed to offer a warranty price which came out to approximately 4300 to 4900 hundred dollars. Needless to say, this is much more than my 500 dollar deductible that the insurance company would have received if this bulletin had not come up. I love my Lexus RX 400 and recommend the cars there are the best of the best. Its this issue that keeps me up at night. I am still trying to resolve and feel that I should not have had to pay anything.
Lexus IS 350 model 2014 - I had an accident on the highway where the right side back tire was punctured and the car has rolled over 5 times. The car was rated as total damage after this accident. The strange thing that Air bag system has not activated as if there was no air bag system in the car. I think this is a major failure in the safety system in this expensive car that has to be known to everyone. For your info this car has run only 15000 kilometers. I have purchased this car from the Toyota dealer in Saudi Arabia on June 23rd, 2014.
Lexus has sedans to SUVs. It looks expensive but you can definitely feel the quality and difference when compared to the less expensive brands. It has customizable comfort and top safety. My suv is my mom car but I feel nice in it. I need the space and amenities of an suv because of my children but I am just as happy taking this car out solo. Lots of quality comes standard but additions are easily added at the dealership. My suv fits 7 very comfortably. I have 3 car seats in the back and space to move around and maneuver as needed. I can also easily load groceries and whatever else I need. I am very happy with my purchase and will buy a Lexus again.
After experiencing what I thought was a leak in the sun roof, I found out from the dealership that the SUV had four blocked sunroof drains due to dust, dirt and leaves and a blocked A/C drain caused by a spider making a web. I am in the dealership for all of my regular service checkups and these items are not on the check list of things to look at for each of the required service appointments. I have been told this will cost $9000.00 (this is not in my budget). My insurance company will not pay for this, so I am currently waiting for Lexus Corporate to get back to me. The interesting thing is that in addition to the 3 year warranty, I purchased an additional 3 years for continuity of service. A lot of good that did me.
Lexus RX300 - At 99,000 miles the transmission had to be replace. Now the new one which I was told the only remanufactured part was the casing, has failed at 24,000 miles. They are making customers pay for repairs because of warranty running out. Does this make them unaccountable when with all these complaints they knowingly put in bad parts? Why isnt this being investigated? Do you know how dangerous it is to have a transmission fail when driving on a highway? Do people have to die before this issue is taken care of in a professional manner without lying or corrupted intentions? I am not paying for their corrupted actions. Everyone who has a problem needs to file with National Highway Traffic Safety for recalls &/or reimbursement!
They sell luxury vehicles ranging from the sporty CT 200h to the classic 4 door ES 350 sedan and the RX 350 SUV. They include the best safety features and have spacious interiors with every amenity you could ask for. They also have state of the art safety features to protect you in a collision. The exterior designs are both sporty and modern. Roomy interiors with the latest in equipment and amenities. Plus theres plenty of room for 5-6 adults/children in the RX 350 with room to spare for packages, suitcases or sports equipment. There is also plenty of storage space in the doors and on the back of the seats.
2008 LS460 In New Orleans heat all 4 door panels, upper and lower dash and rear of center console all defective and melting. Lexus replaced everything Except the console. Today I brought it to Lexus New Orleans because I received a standard recall letter informing me my console is covered. They took a few pictures and informed me the parts would be in in 2 to 3 YEARS! I find that Insulting. First they give you the good news and make you drive in to get the bad news! I used the Ferrara Law Group in Miami. They won their Class Action Suit against Toyota/Lexus 3 years ago and had to bring Toyota/Lexus back to court because they were stalling/stonewalling their customers after they had already lost the case! I have informed the attorney and if more people call them they may file a new suit against Toyota/Lexus...2 - 3 Years is stonewalling!
The calipers on the Lexus are really low end. They corrode and seize onto the rotor. Very much a safety issue and there should be a recall. I am having to eat the cost to change both seized rear calipers. They were so badly seized that I had to undo them from the brake line and try to work the slide pins out and even used a torch to heat them to no avail. I ordered 2 new aftermarket calipers and will put them on this week. Also, A/C drain gets clogged from inferior packing and leaks water all over the carpet which can produce harmful mold. Lexus wants $2,000 to unclog the drain and add new improved packing. Requires unbolting tranny and manifold. I am going to try and get my arm up on there where the firewall meets the bell housing and pull the grommet out. This car has had fuel rail recalls, valve recall, piston ring recall and several visits for squeaky brakes. All these problems are really unacceptable for what is supposed to be a well built car.
I bought a 2015 Lexus and found out afterwards that I had to pay extra each and every year for this feature. As if that wasnt bad enough it has only worked about 3 times in 2 years. This year is no different. I have called customer service and been to the dealership and still isnt working. I have spent literally hours trying to get this resolved and was just told again that I would have to call again on Tuesday. I am so fed up. I wish I could give back my car and start over. Never again will I buy a Lexus!
2014 ES300H - Will NEVER buy another Lexus nor recommend one to family/friends. They DONT stand by their product. Car was only 3 years old & the front passenger door lock malfunctioned. It needed a new door lock actuator. Because I was out of warranty (over 50K miles), they said it wouldnt be covered & the cost was significant. The dealership convinced them since the car was still new, they should cover the cost. Eventually they did. Approximately 9 mos after that lock malfunctioned, the driver side one did the SAME thing. Obviously theres some defective parts in this car given it just turned 4 years old. This time Lexus said theyre not paying for it - they already gave me a courtesy service last year. Can you believe this? Didnt want to hear anything about it even when I tried to call. Wow - so much for customer service! Car wasnt even 4 years old and BOTH door locks stopped working. Think there may be a serious problem here? This is not only an inconvenience but also a SAFETY issue! The dealership was even shocked Lexus wouldnt pick up the tab. Given the car sticker was $48K and bought brand new in 2014, you would think they would backup their product, especially a Lexus. Dont count on it... reconsider before you buy a Lexus!! Truly not the same car it used to be.
I had a Lexus ES300, drives awesome, good on gas. Handles with extreme precision on freeways at high speeds and gas is reasonable. Looks beautiful and classy. Unfortunately had an auto accident. Hit by a truck. Would you believe after that the truck needed roadside assistance flatbed to tow the truck. My Lexus started right up and drove away with minor dents. The car was built durable and reliable. I highly recommend Lexus to any who want excellence as also quality. Loved owning this vehicle. Wood grain is an option as well as extra modified stereo system high end quality, leather heated seats, extended warranties depends on how much youre willing to spend. Has a big part to do with all you want in a fancy luxury automobile. Also, I have had up to seven passengers at one time. I also had a speaker system in the trunk and back seat. So room is of no concern when speaking about the LEXUS ES300. Again a vehicle that is suitable for all dynamics of all types of encounters it may come across. Simply amazing and classy. Find yourself driving away in your new Lexus to understand how ones perspective will have you convinced as I have been. I see it as you only live once so what I can tell you if youre a hard worker and help other people then you most certainly deserve it. Put it like this, treat yourself dont cheat yourself.
Lexus has a LX, a LS, RX, GS, NX, RC, ES, GX and CT. There are many more but these are the main ones that offer the most value and luxury than most others seem to do. The car has many things like a great trunk, engine and seats. It has great lights and it had wifi and it is really fast to drive all the time. There are many upgrades like the seats and then theres the tire rims. They have custom stereos too and have custom features inside like a touchscreen. Also, the passenger capacity has a lot of room to fit a good amount of people in it so that they all can be comfortable and that they can have lots of room to do lots of things without feeling crowded.
I have a Lexus GS and noticed the roof molding peeling. I Google and discover it was a common problem. My windows and door locks stopped working. For a luxury car I expected much better reliability. I have 3 Toyota cars and only my older ones were OK. I have switched to Honda now and been very happy. They repaired the paint and windshield visor on my 2008 Civic which is 7 years old under warranty. At least Honda takes pride and responsibility for their cars. I now only buy Honda.
Wonderful car 4 door sedan, 2006 year, normal maintenance, few repairs runs very well with 150,000 miles, 25-26 mpg runs on regular gas. Very comfortable. Back seat a bit tight for tall people. Has backup camera and syncs with phone.
I purchased a used RX 350 at Tri-County Lexus. I was hoping to get a new Vehicle in the next few month, but after seeing the RX 350, I was very impressed (Though used, looked like new), and salesman Louis ** was very helpful in answering all my questions and making the purchase very enjoyable. And once I drove the vehicle, with the price we negotiated, I knew I needed I got a great vehicle. The whole staff was great, and very helpful.
Lexus needs a few more models as to distinguish itself from other luxury brands. Right now, Lexus has a staple of sedans and coupes for a sporty type of brand. I am not impressed with their SUV and perhaps they need a different type of crossover. I found too that Lexus did not offer as many upgrades as I had hoped to find from a luxury car company. I felt limited by the options available. Otherwise, Lexus has a very Alex and modern look which is supported by modern in-car features. Lexus does a good job of incorporate a more modern feel into a luxury car. The car also fits about 4 comfortably which is more than enough for me. I think it very average in that respect.
I have Lexus ES350. I left the car in the lot for 3 months came back. Check engine and vsc lights are on, and dealer says that the engine need to be replaced, do not know what to do at this point.
My 2005 Lexus RX 330 also hairline cracks on dash. I have contacted Lexus Customer Service concerning defect in dash. Their response was vehicle is out of warranty. I have 110K miles and knew my vehicle was out of warranty. I thought since Lexus had acknowledge of the faulty dash would replace them since they are aware everyone is having the same problem. Im concerned the crack near my passenger airbag could cause possible eye injury if the airbag deployed and the debris from faulty dash exploded everywhere. Lexus should repair the faulty dash when they are aware everyone is having the same problem. I dont think Lexus is concerned about safety of their customers.
Great selection of cars. Beautiful car with a very nice silver color interior. Great clear stereo sound. Didnt upgrade much because too much extra cost but what I have is great. My kids love it so I would pick it again if I could. Hope to tell friends about this car because it fits a lot.
I purchased a pre-owned 2007 Lexus GS 350 a month ago. I started smelling a musty odor and after investigating, I found that the carpet is soaked under the floor mats. I quickly called the Lexus dealership and was told to bring it in. The problem is the AC drain hose is leaking. The service department is stating that this is not covered under my warranty. I am angry because after research on the web, this has been a ongoing problem with this model Lexus and I would think the dealership would be more considerate of new customers who have owned the vehicle for less than 45 days.
I replaced a cracked windshield. In replacing it, repairman stated he could not put plastic. Left and right side moldings were broken and needed to be replaced- a Advised that we have parts replaced before driving. Out. Will always be available to help you out. Sales rep will not call us to tell us whats going on. We have been dealing with this since Thursday - $175 part.. Would I buy another car from them, what do you think???? 12/9/19
There is constant smell of gas in and around this 2008 Lexus IS250 in summer months. This has been an ongoing problem for two years now during the hot months. Also, the engine bogs down and has required complete top engine cleaning (Valves) done twice in less than 40,000 miles. Which when occurs, prevents vehicle from going over 25mph.
I bought a Lexus GS 350, new in 2008. I previously owned (2) Lexus GS 300 and had not major problems with either. I bought the 2008 because I knew I was retiring, would be traveling (out of town parents/relatives) and there were such great reviews as it is now about the car: reliability, safety, craftsmanship. I maintained my car well, especially the oil changes, every 4,000 to 5000 miles. I had an oil change in Feb 2014, 86290 miles. On April 7, 2014, Low Engine Oil Level light came on (89676 miles), a total of 3,386 miles. I was told that the car was getting older and to check it and add oil if needed. May 21, 2014 the light came on again (92,847 miles) a total of 3,171 miles. And the list goes on! Of course the consumption tests says within consumption levels. I now have 121,817 miles on the car as of today. Im adding a quart of oil about every 2 weeks. I had the oil changed today 11/3/15 (**), and they wrote on the ticket oil level low prior to service. Lets see how long it will be before the light comes on again!Im sure Lexus knows theres a problem, no car just burns oil for no reason. I wonder are they telling those buying their cars that theres a Consumption problem after so many miles??? Probably not!! I have two friends, one with a GS 300 and the other a RX 300 that are having the same problem. I have a 1989 Mercury Marquis, within excess of 225000 miles, and Ive never had to add oil between oil changes. Nor has my husband who has a 2006 Ford Expedition with 148000 miles!! Something needs to be done and Lexus should take responsibility for this problem. Lets try to get it out to as many people as possible. If someone has a lawsuit in progress contact me, **. Id like to join the suit!!! Im 68 years old and shouldnt have to purchase another car; it wouldnt be a Lexus if I did!!!
In June of 2014, I leased a new 2014 Lexus GS350 F-Sport. Well starting around 1700 miles the car started having issues such as warped rotors and the rear power sunshade decided when to retract and deploy on its own. Then a couple of months later, the real issues started with the car. I would go to get into the car but it wouldnt start. The engine would act like it would turn over and start but it wouldnt. Sometimes it took up to 10 tries to get the car started. Sometimes it just would go to accessory mode without even attempting to start. So needless to say, the car has been back and forth to the dealer for multiple electrical problems. Here are the biggest examples: Obviously, the non-starting issue. The power retractable steering wheel and power seat took me on a wild ride while driving down the road. The power rear sunshade still has a mind of its own. The Lexus Parking Assist senses things are there when nothing is actually there and then sometimes they decide not to work at all. My Navigation System crashing and rebooting while driving. Horrible squealing with the brakes, etc. The car has been in and out of the service department for all the electrical issues and they cant find the reason for the car not starting or any of the other electrical issues. The car only has about 7600 miles on it and its currently in the shop since May 11, 2015. Im getting quite annoyed and concerned that Lexus would produce a $60,000 vehicle with these types of problems. They are known for their reliability, craftsmanship, safety, and state of the art cars -- I beg to differ. I am just waiting to hear back from the dealership to get the next excuse of why they couldnt fix the car. Needless to say, this is my first and last Lexus. I just want Lexus or the Lexus dealership to buy back this horrific lemon of a car and give me my down payment back. There are better options out there.
2007 Touch Screen on my IS 250 Lexus - On Feb 17, I had my Map Quest updated while my car was in for the 140,000 miles service. I noticed the Map Quest remained on the touch screen at all times where before it did not. The week of the 10 of March, the Touch Screen stopped working. I returned the car to the dealership on March 20 and received a call that it would take $3,100 to repair the touch screen. Also it was going to take 2 days to get the screen in to replace the old one. I have also contacted Lexus Headquarters in CA to see what they can do. I purchased this car New from Lexus In VA (what a Nightmare of a dealership); therefore, I begin going to one in Maryland which I was hoped would not be just after money/buy a new car. Well they are turning out to be the SAME. UNACCEPTABLE, I am not giving them this amount of money because I have given Lexus too much money. So one please let me know what backyard or shade-tree dealer who can fix the touch screen.
My 2009 GS350 has developed condensation in the drivers side headlights. Of course, this is not on a bulletin or recall. After reading this forum, I find that Im not the only one with this problem. The dealership quoted me $1500 to replace the headlight - I declined! Lexus should investigate this problem! Not good advertising for a luxury automobile!
When you mention the name Lexus you typically think quality. After all, this is not an inexpensive car! Well, the dashboards in several of their models crack (sometimes, all the way across). Their answers: your car has been left out in the sun too often for too long. Well, I would imagine that most people who own Lexus typically keep them garaged. So, why is it that other brand cars (years old, and left out in the sun) do not crack?? The other issue on some of the newer and more expensive models is that the panels (which are made of a synthetic, plastic-like material) get very sticky to the touch. Lexus answer: they were not made for our hot and humid weather that we have here in the South. Youd think they dont have engineers that test their products?? Or, do they just sell their product in cooler climates?
I will never buy another Lexus or Toyota and I recommend anybody thinking about buying a Lexus to buy something else. Lexus does not stand behind their product or their relentless pursuit of perfection. Be aware, I was told by Lexus that once the warranty is up they will not cover a manufacturers defect. No matter how bad the defect as long as it not a safety issue, no matter how many hundreds of thousand of their cars have the exact same defect, no matter how well you have maintained your car.During a recent oil change at the Lexus dealership I was told my 2006 Lexus IS 350 is leaking oil from the front engine cover and Lexus will charge $3,000 to repair the leak. My car only has 80,000 miles and have only had the oil changed by the dealer every 5000 miles. If you Google Lexus leaks oil from front engine cover you will see this is a widespread problem with various Lexus models. I contacted Lexus USA to request they cover the cost of the repair and was told today by their representative Eric that Lexus would only cover $1,000 of the $3,000 repair. This is after Lexus has had about 10 recalls for safety related issues, so my car has practically lived at the dealership. In addition like many other people in the warm sunny states, the dashboard and door sills became sticky and began deteriorating when the car was only a few years old, and it took Lexus about 7 years to finally replace the dashboard and door sills after they had a class action lawsuit brought against them, and you had to ask Lexus about to get them replaced since it was not technically a recall.
Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?
17 years and no problems. 145,00 miles and only regular services, still going to drive it for another couple of years, at least until the house is paid off. 1999 rx300 and it still in style, and it still drives like new.
I purchase new cars about every 3 yrs, This Lexus is the best value I have ever gotten for my money, I find no need to ever go back to any other manufacture, the quality, features, handling is by far better than any of my other experiences... I do not usually spend money on upgrades, but I like this car so much I just had ceramic coating applied last week. The technician had told me the Lexus has the thickest and best paint of most cars...It turned out amazing!
Lexus CT200 is 2015-16 the last year this hybrid was made. So glad we found one. We love it. Used car that is running with no issues. If you can find a used one, we are happier with the Lexus hybrid than their Toyota version.
Lexus was very reliable, smooth and sleek, and I couldnt ask for a better car. It was great, beautiful and it had all kinds of features that made it one of a kind type of vehicle. I could not see myself driving nothing else and I literally thought it was one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen or driven. It would literally turn heads when I drove by. It would fit up to 6 people comfortably and still handled perfectly. I enjoy every minute of every day driving this car. A friend recommended it to me and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a top of the line, classy, gorgeous vehicle.
When I signed contract for the model CT200H FSport and they give a good deals for flood stock. Cant choose own color then they wait until out of the cooling time. Then they call you say have to wait 3 week for the order then that means no stock why can choose color. I go back and they tell me car will be there on Wednesday so i still can have my car yet (order on end of October). So can I get back my money and cancel my order?
Bought a used 2004 Lexus RX 330 and 3 months later dashboard began cracking. I was told warranty does not cover the dashboard, and cost to replace it will cost $4000. Please advise!
We bought 2008 Lexus RX400h, with 79k miles on it, a few weeks ago from Hanlees Toyota in Richmond, CA. We thought we made a smart decision buying hybrid vehicle this time. Guess what, even though Lexus states mpg 27/24 on this vehicle. We never got close to these numbers. We have been driving the vehicle for almost a month now and average mpg is 20.6. We sold our Highlander and upgraded for hybrid Lexus. We drove our highlander for over 10 years. Our average mpg was 21.8. What a disappointment for Lexus. I dont understand how do they get away with this type of false statements at all. We paid whole a lot of extra money to get hybrid vehicle to save money but it seems like we wasted for nothing. We will definitely keep pursuing to get some sort of resolution on this matter. This is not right and legal whatsoever. I am sick of these big corporations that they think they can do whatever they want and get away with anything. I am sick of them.
About 15000 miles I noticed the leather coloring wearing off. When I called about it they said no problem under bumper to bumper warranty. Mind you I weigh 155 and my wife weighed 125. When taking it in for airbag recall with now 30000 miles and still under warranty I mentioned the seats. They have refused to repair it or replace them. I have a 1994 F350 we towed the race car with and 200000 miles and seats perfect. Any other vehicle I have owned, Im 70 and owned quite a few, never had coloring worn off the seats. On my 2010 Lexus didnt have a problem. But now I guess they are saying we cant meet the quality of all the other car manufactures. This is totally wrong what they do and should be held accountable and take care of the defect.
I wanted a car with all leather seats and the Lexus salesperson and the Lexus V Spec sheet and the Lexus window sticker all said that it had leather seats. This was in error as the seats are trimmed leather with leather only on a smaller part of the seats. I didnt notice this until 2 days later and I immediately contacted the dealer. They didnt offer a solution and so I went to Lexus USA. The Window Sticker/Monroney sticker is a Federally mandated contract for what is on the car, therefore the data was wrong on this and after 3 weeks, after they tried to tell me it was all leather only to succumb later that it isnt, told me that they will not buy back the car and closed the case. This is my first experience with Lexus and I am very disappointed in them. They know that they made an error on my window sticker and sold me something other than what they told me I was getting so I am very disappointed in the lack of integrity with this company.
I own a 2007 IS 250 and on numerous occasions I have complaint about the smell and eventually the torque converter was changed but the problem was never resolved. I was told by the service manager at Lexus that I should try different brands of fuel as it was the quality of the fuel that was causing the problem, which I did, but once again the problem was not resolved. I was then told that the smell was not coming from my car but from the ones in front of me, what nonsense. This terrible smell was witnessed by whoever sat in my car, even when there were no vehicles in front of me. This smell has caused my wife to being diagnosed asthmatic, because whenever she’s in the car and we get the smell, it causes her tightness of the chest. I must say it is the most embarrassing and uncomfortable smell to have in the cabin of your vehicle especially when you have family or friends travelling with you. I never knew owning a Lexus will cause such discomfort to me and my family; imagine if a child is being transported in the very same cabin. I hope someone could help resolve the problem, thank you.
Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturers warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.
We currently have a Lexus RX350 F-Sport and just had to use roadside assistance yesterday. Not only did my husbands vehicle just die and leaving him stranded on the side of the road, but when the roadside assistance came to help. They ended up towing his vehicle to a dealership and the closest one to us is 2 hours away. So it is not fixed and we are having issue with them getting it back to us. Mind you we have no loaner car or anything, so how is he suppose to get his car that is 2 hours away?? We called Lexus customer service multiple times today and can’t get anywhere. They should have told us if it was towed to the dealership that they wouldn’t bring it back, you would think after you pay all this money on a new vehicle that we have had for 1 year and is under warranty that there would be something in place for this situation instead everyone is clueless.I have a Cadillac and was looking to get a new car next month and thought about getting a Lexus, but let me tell you I will hands down stay with Cadillac just because of the outstanding customer service I get. I tried telling my husband to go with Cadillac, but he thought surely Lexus IS suppose to be a luxury vehicle so will have their crap together and he was wrong. We are turning this car in as soon as we can and going with a car company that cares about their customers!
In February of 2012, my Lexus 2006 es330 accelerated with me from 25 miles to approx 75 miles. My car ended up in a ditch that was when it stopped. It was as if the car took a life of its own. It was towed to JM Lexus and I explained to them what happened. They kept the car for about 10 days including work at the body shop which my insurance paid for. I specifically asked on several occasions if they checked the car out for its unintentional acceleration and they told me yes and nothing was found. In June of 2012, the same thing happened. The car went from 25 to 80 miles and even when brake was applied, the car would not stop. At this time, the car was in shambles. The car finally stopped when it hit a light post. The car was written off by my insurance company. I called Lexus Corporation and they wrote me back a letter which insulted my intelligence. This has left me with post traumatic syndrome shoulder pain, knee pain and fear of driving. It affected my livelihood as Im a home health medicare nurse. It bothers me that a big corporation as that doesnt want to take responsibility for their product.
I have the Lexus ES 350 2011 model. My FOB only opens the front door - drivers side only. The passenger side and the rear back doors do not open. When I open manually the other 3 doors (passenger and rear back doors) and I use the FOB, it locks but will not unlock. Is this a programming problem? My Lexus technician says that I should replace all three locks at a cost of $1,500.00. Please advise.
I have driven Lexus autos for years and have loved every one of them. This year I purchased a 2016 RX 350. I like everything about the car except: It wasnt until I owned the vehicle that I noticed what feels like a vibration under foot when accelerating from a standing start. There is also a strange noise, which I identify as a groan, when accelerating after slowing down due to traffic or turning a corner. All of this occurs when driving normal not under hard acceleration. Sport mode helps but I dont want to drive around in sport mode. Also, driving the new eight (8) speed transmission is not a pleasant experience. At city speeds it always feels that the transmission is in a higher gear than it should be, causing the engine to lug. I would have thought Lexus would have caught this in testing but, now that the car is released, I cannot believe they are not addressing the issue. This is VERY un-Lexus-like!
I am the owner of my third Lexus ES 350. I anticipated buying my fourth in the next couple of years. I have purchased a Lexus almost exclusively because of its reputation for quality. As I am often in my car alone, the idea of having a car that will not leave me stranded by the side of the road is paramount. I noticed initially, however, with my most recent car purchased new, the 2014 model, that it was not as quiet as my first Lexus.I let that past not attributing it to a decline in overall quality. However, I was wholly unprepared for the wholesale failure without warning of my transmission after only 74,000 miles leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was lucky to make it to a surface street as the failure occurred on the highway. This was a car, as was the case with each of my prior purchases, that had each and every service recommended, all done by a Lexus dealer. However, I could have saved myself a tremendous amount of money, both in terms of initial outlay and maintenance cost, with a much cheaper car and received the same result. This is my LAST Lexus and last Toyota made car.
On October 2010, I got my pre-owned car; year 2006 with a navigation system 2006 Lexus ES 330.Later, I realized that anywhere I go, it doesnt have the address due to an old virsion. I contacted the dealer that I bought it from and I was told that I have to buy the new virgin which costs $200.00. I felt like its not fair to buy it. If you can have them, send it to me without charge. It will be great. Thank you.
I own a Lexus IS 250 SE manual. What happened is that my touchscreen GPS has a factory fault and stopped working. As now I am out of my warranties, Lexus told me that I have to pay for it to be replaced and it will cost me R 25,000.00. After telling them that it is a factory problem, they said to me that they can only help me pay 50% of it and they will come out with the other 50% for it to be repair. I think that it is unfair for the customer when Lexus knows that their car has a factory defect and still made the customers liable of paying that. Can I have any help on this issue, please?
We have owned three Lexus products over the years they have been in the US. The cars are great but the corporate culture has deteriorated greatly. The present CEO and the person in charge of Customer service are not at all qualified for their jobs and they have given Lexus a bad name for customer service. The corporate offices have literally no control over the dealers if there are issues, selling cars is all that matters, not customer service. If you have an issue that the dealer refuses to take care of, the infrastructure Lexus created at corporate is so pathetic you will only be frustrated trying to get any closure.
I am very impressed with the Lexus extended warranty. Two years ago, while having my vehicle serviced, I was informed that my steering was defective and leaking. It would need to be replaced. The cost was over $4000.00. My extended warranty covered the entire cost with no copay required. This one repair more than tripled the cost of the seven year warranty. I have had extended warranties with other vehicles that I have had, but none as good as this.
I am quite satisfied with the variety of models as well as the choice of colors offered. The features offered were top of the line. There were tech advanced and we were happy with what was offered. Given the need and or opportunity we would return to the same place in the future and see about buying an auto from the same place once again. We were also quite happy with the upgrade and personalized options that were offered. We like to get the maximum upgrades that are available because we like our car to reflect our personality and shed a light on our unique and affluent lifestyle. Also, we are happy with the passenger capacity. We are a family of four and it accommodates us very nicely. There is also adequate room to accommodate two other passengers, although, we rarely need the additional space.
LEXUS Enform - Sadly just noticed that I have been getting charged $299.90 for automatic renewal every year on a car I have not owned since 2013. Even though the car was traded in they dont automatically cancel or contact you in any way to keep renewing. Out $1500. Ouch!
In July of 2011, we bought a new RX 350 at Lexus of Chandler. Recently, we have noticed the paint on the front of the hood is pitted. There is no damage to any other area at the front of the car. The dealer said it was from dust storms, and there was nothing they could do. They also said that they could show us cars on their lot that have similar damage. Thats a nice thing for a potential buyer to see. We traded in a 2002 Pathfinder with no paint problems. We still have a 2004 Infiniti with no damage. Yes, we live in the desert, but why would a new car sustain paint damage, when other, older cars do not? I question the quality of a Lexus paint job.
I’m pretty bummed my Lexus RX 350. I bought it at Lexus of Naperville in 2013. It has 54,000 miles now and needs a new engine. It blew a head gasket with no warning, It’s out of warranty and Lexus corporate office denied any assistance. $10,000 worth of work??? I’ve keep up with the maintenance. Had 1 oil change outside of Lexus because their mechanics were on strike. Sorry for the long text. Needed to vent to someone. I’ll have to get it fixed but I’m no longer a Lexus fan. The only good thing is the service Manager Mike really did his best to help???

Lexus has a very good variety and I like the vehicles a lot. They are really cool and good looking. They have a lot of upgrades available and I buy them all usually. Also, the passenger room is good. It is very roomy and I will always like it. I am very happy with it and all of my passengers are too. I would love to own a Lexus for the rest of my life.
First... Let me say that my Lexus dealership is fantastic. They were available and worked hard to solve my problem. That being said... My problem was with Lexus Roadside Assistance Program. At 6 pm I hit a rather large pothole with my CT200 which resulted in a flat tire. I got myself to a place out of traffic and called my dealership who told me I could call Lexus Roadside Assistance and gave me the # and transferred me. The call rang and rang... Finally someone picked up... Asked me if I was in a safe location (I responded yes) and said ok... She was going to place me back on hold, they just wanted to initially make sure I was not in an accident and was in a safe location. (My impression was high... Its a good process).I was then on hold for 20 minutes! I hung up and called back... Went through the same process... Another 15 minutes later I repeated my process and when the safety person answered the phone I asked him to please not put me on hold that I had been waiting for a while to speak to someone. He arrogantly told me that my situation was not priority and they were getting slammed with accidents and put me on hold.I called my dealership for advice... They were baffled and suggested I call AAA... I also ask them if the service manager who has ALWAYS been helpful, could give me a call when he got a chance. I hung up and called AAA and placed the request. In the meantime the service manager got hold of someone at Roadside Assistance and conferenced them in to me. At first the client service rep was seemingly irritated, but then calmed down and took my information and told me hed call AAA. I told him I had already done that. I must say that the ticket placed by Lexus was answered prior to my personal call to AAA, which is another matter, but I waited and AAA showed up and took care of my problem. While this is not as big an issue as others have had and I was not in danger... Merely irritated... I do have to speak to their customer service representatives and the process they have in place. They do have a system to find out the urgency of each callers situation, however, from a provider of high end luxury cars, the service seemed to stop there. Perhaps those who were having a true emergency received stellar service, but I should have too. Once it was determined that I was safe I shouldnt have had extended wait time to speak with someone... I was a woman, alone in a disabled car, in a not perfect location at dark. I should not have had to wait for over an hour to finally get in touch with someone for assistance.I would have preferred that Lexus process took into account that everyone calling them needed to be attended to in a timely fashion. It seems they have attempted to create a process, it just doesnt work well for non-emergency consumers.
I purchased an alleged 2016 lexus gs-350 from lexus of riverside on 4/29/2016. I reported a navigation defect to them in less than two weeks. They did nothing for 6 1/2 weeks and finally sent a dealership car and service tech. We drove both my car and dealership car. In go home mode it took us in a round-about manner to a dead end road in a different zip code. Both my car and dealership car failed and went to dead end road but I took my garmin gps in dealer car and it worked perfectly. The dealership refused to do anything and referred this problem to their lexus/toyota headquarters in Torrance, ca. The clerk at the headquarters said we would be put in a queue which would take 4 weeks.I spent hours researching, driving, photographing, documenting and sending over 30 emails to them but just got a letter giving me an assignment to send them documents they already had. I also called their 800# - useless. You get some clerk who only gives a first name and never gives you a case number. I have 1 week left for the 4-week queue, so will probably have to sue them since there is no available for this serious problem and they just delay hoping you go away.Next I photographed the navigation screen which shows that the navigation micro sd card is dated 8/1/2015 (gen 8) which according to their published literature is only for a 2015 gs-350. At this writing, the card will be 1 year old in 2 weeks and the service manager told me they usually come out around October for about $169. So either lexus sold me a 2015 and changed the date to 2016 or they are using old parts. I had leased 4 lexus ls series before - 1990, 1995, 1999 & 2004. The 2004 was terrible and constantly needed repairs. So I left lexus. But I read the glowing reports by consumer reports and tried the 2016 gs-350 due to its alleged safety features - big mistake.
LX 570 windshield stress fracture - Had numerous witnesses in vehicle when I drove over a speed bump. It was then that the windshield cracked. No rock chip evidence. No impact evidence. Lexus is trying to tell me that it was a rock. Of course they will not admit to having any problems with these large windshields but any search will get you a lot of relevant hits. Surface of glass is smooth and there is no indentation.
My first experience with Lexus dealerships here in WI put a sour taste in my face. In 2011 (I have an 05 rx 330) I took my vehicle in for the brake recall. Of course they said my brakes were fine but sent me home with an estimate for 5,000 in repairs needed. I was in tears but the car ran fine. Later found out none of it was true. My front headlamps have seized from moisture inside and they are so cloudy and dull I am afraid to drive at night. Lexus did NOT HONOR THE HEADLAMP WARRANTY. Later I went for an estimate for a clock spring repair, I was charged 180.00 for diagnoses of what I had already had diagnosed. No support from Corporate Office. Never again.
I bought a Certified 2004 RX330 from Lexus Clearwater. I bought the car in 06, the SUV had 22k miles, was soon told I needed new tires. Did research as why would I need new tires now, especially on a Certified car, with so little mileage and only two years old. The tires were switched out, they were Cooper tires which arent the tires from the Lexus manufacturer. When I asked Clearwater Lexus about this and told them someone from Tampa Lexus had talked with me about the issue, they said, Why would you listed to Tampa Lexus? They are worse than we are!! I spoke with the corporate office and best they would do is offer new tires at retail - still bogus. Now my dash is cracking and Lexus Tampa said $1900 to replace, and 10% off as I dont service my car there enough for a larger discount. Now the headlights are cloudy and there is a recall, but there are no parts for their own recall just an acknowledgement that there is an issue. I was duped by Lexus, they are horrible. Very sorry I ever bought a car from them. Dealerships should provide an actual printout on how they certify a car, if they had, the tires wouldnt have passed a certification test. Like a home inspection, I want to see levels and percentages of wear and tear and how they could ever pass worn tires as certified. Lexus shmexus. Poor quality, certified means nothing, horrible customer service.
They called a cop on me because I wanted to cancel a deal an hour later. The car was a surprise gift for my wife on her birthday, but after she saw it, she did not want to take and refused it completely. They did want to cancel the deal same day same time and called the cop on me!
I bought the car in February of 2005. Today the mileage is 87,000. Besides tires and a brake job the car has not been out of service. Start each and every time and has had zero problems. The seats are still in perfect shape, no rattles or strange noises. Fit and finish are still in perfect shape.
Side view mirrors are a safety hazard. They are oversized and too high. Cant see the road when making a turn. You have to move higher over the mirrors to see where you are going. Very frustrating when getting ready to make a turn at an intersection where I cant see where Im going because the oversized mirrors are blocking my view of the road.
Six months ago, I bought my 2007 Lexus ES350 from the Lexus of Naperville. This is a Certified Lexus Car. When I bought the car, I was told that nothing goes wrong on a Lexus. But everything has been going wrong in this car. I have had to take it to the dealership three times with various problems. One of the times, the transmission on the car had failed and had to be replaced. This is the most ridiculous thing to happen on a Lexus at 35000 miles. I have always been a Nissan customer and have 3 Nissan vehicles, at home with one of them at 185000 miles; nothing has ever gone wrong in them. This time, I thought I would give Lexus/Toyota a chance and it has failed from all my expectations. Being afraid, if when this car would break down next, is a very stressful at this time. Please let me know how you guys can help with this purchase of mine, so I can have more stress free nights. If you need more info on the vehicle, please email me and I will be happy to send it out. I will also be writing to the consumer board, on how I have been cheated to buy a certified vehicle that breaks down every few months.Below is some of Art ** from Lexuss responses to my complaint: Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. In circumstances that require our attention, we will assist in the resolution process. Thank you for providing us with your comments and concerns with your 2007 ES 350. We apologize this vehicle has not met your expectations. We design our vehicles with our customer ownership experience in mind and it is through correspondence such as yours that we are able to continually improve our products. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts and to provide us with your view. Please be assured that your feedback has been documented at our National Headquarters.
First I bought an RX 350 Sport from this dealership in 2016. They put me on a variable rate and since it was the end of the day they rushed me into signing all the paperwork, when I received the bank statement. I called the manager and he put the blame on myself since I had signed the contract. Second...I have been have issues with the battery and they are saying its because of the cold. I have a 2008 Ford Explorer and I have NO issues with the battery and its original.
I have a 2008 Lexus Rx350 with a cracked and melted dashboard and Lexus refuses to help in any way even though thousands of cars had this same issue. Lexus is substandard and their customer service is below par. I do not recommend anyone to buy a Lexus. You will be sorry because they do not stand behind their vehicles. I was never notified about this dashboard issue so by them saying I didnt react in time is a stupid reason not to help with a product they they know... has been an issue all along.
The IS 250 is a great ride that drives well making even those who dont love driving enjoy it. I love the way this car corners. We test drove the gs and es models as well, but they really felt too sedan for me. The SUV model rs was a disappointment altogether. The SUV has a nice passenger capacity. We however were looking for a sportier vehicle that still had room for a family of four. The IS model has just that. However, our two teens dont feel there is enough legroom in the back for them. But Im in love with my car. The smallest interior details really set this luxury line apart from others. The wood used is gorgeous and held up well. These details really add to the cars comfort. I also like the upgrade rims. They are stunning and add just the right amount of bling and luxe to the car. Other upgrades include navigation which we passed on.
Rain sensor for wipers does not work properly... Wipers are always wiping in dry conditions. The sensor is bad. The dealership cant change out as they say Lexus wont pay for part. I have a 2014 rX350 which Ive complained about this since the car was 6 weeks old (purchased end of Oct 2013). Now the car is 8 mos old and Ive brought in at least 3 times with this problem. Whats up with Lexus? Quality Performance of this feature is not satisfactory. Reliability of this feature is nil.
Although I actually like my 2011 RX 450h, I am extremely disappointed with Lexus from a warranty perspective. Basically, it appears absolutely nothing is ever covered under the warranty. Since I purchased this new vehicle two years ago, I have spent thousands of dollars for required maintenance. Additionally, the tires were faulty from day one and required replacement at $1900 a pop. I cant wait for my lease to end so I can get out of this nicely appointed money pit and go back to BMW, where the service requirements are few and far between - and absolutely everything is always covered under the warranty.
Lexus offers luxury, stability and performance. They have over 3 different versions of each model to choose from and theyre all quality. The distinct appearance and standard features of this car brand include its body shape, how it handles on the road, and the amazing quality of the interior let you know you bought a luxury vehicle. The various upgrade and personalization options include very, very expensive parts. Buying upgrades for these brands put you out of pocket quite a bit of money so its best to just buy the one youre comfortable with and not upgrade parts. This brands passenger capacity is that its the same as every other car brand. If its a four seater, its a four seater. Maybe you can fit one more uncomfortably. But its the same. No special space for more.
Mr. David **, of Bell Lexus Service, Phoenix, AZ told me that this has been a known problem. I think this is a defective material issue that should have been disclosed before I purchased the Lexus, as I would not have purchased a car that I use for business that absorbed fabric dye from dark pants, skirts, etc. I expected better quality; especially from Lexus! My local detail shop cannot get the dye stains out of the sides of the seats and door panel. Bell Lexus did get it out and they put a sealer on the seats and door and within two days the stains were back. David told me that I could bring the car back for seat cleaning but not every week. David also suggested that I not wear expensive jeans or other dark fabrics in the car? Do I tell my clients the same thing? What if I purchased a leather sofa and this happened? Shouldnt the same principles apply? As a Real Estate professional, I use my Lexus in my business to transport clients. Appearance is an important part of my job. A stained interior will very likely cost me lost sales, lost listings, and fewer referrals. My car is a business investment. Even the non-professional Lexus owner would not like this happening to their supposedly high quality car.Since David was acting as an agent for the Lexus admits the problem; I want this issue addressed and corrected. It is obviously, an undisclosed defect, in that it is inferior quality material, especially with a tan interior. For certain, the sides of the seats and door panels are made from defective materials. Please correct this problem as soon as possible, for I do not want to suffer any further losses.
I have a 2013 350 Lexus with 43477 miles on my car. Sensor went out on the car, brought it to the dealership to get repair and what they told me I just could not believe what they said and the amount the dealership want me to pay. My car is still under factory warranty. Have anybody else had this problem with their factory warranty?
As a LEXUS owner we received an offer of a $75 VISA Gift card if we test drove a new Lexus. I submitted my Lexus Offer on Dec 6, 2016. Confirmed online on 1/21. I contacted Lexus that my card was not yet received. [email protected]. CustomerLINK replied on 1/22 and said they would mail out a new card (5-7 Business days for receipt). Received a card on 1/27/2017. CARD HAD ZERO BALANCE! Contacted them three times (and I contacted Lexus Corporate who told me they couldnt help me) and still do not have a VISA card with $75 on it. THE LEXUS MARKETING DEPT IS USELESS WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Today I got another Marketing offer and told them to keep it! (I wouldnt ever receive it anyway)
Lexus is not a very popular car brand because it is expensive and very innovative, but this is why this type of car will last a long time. Since it is a luxurious car, it looks very nice outside and inside. It has leather seats inside and the outside is painted black, making it seem more powerful and beautiful. Upgrading this type of car can usually be expensive, as the car itself is expensive. However, if you have the money to buy the car in the first place, then you should not have any problems upgrading it if needed. Since my car is not large, the passenger capacity is limited. However, all of the passengers that have ridden in my car were quite satisfied, so I would recommend the car when it comes to passenger capacity.
Different varieties of models and features that are actually nice and I would recommended that. Each model is unique in its own, but I prefer Lexus Los cause it offers hybrid and gasoline vehicles and they give you the ability to choose which one that you want. Lexus has many upgrades and personalization options that can be added onto the vehicle and that isnt added to the final bill of sale, which is excellent to me and I actually love that about them. Lexus is such a luxury vehicle and so affordable that anyone can afford them.
Great mileage, wonderful ride and a dream to drive. This car drives like a little sports car even though its a hybrid. The steering is tight, I only had it a couple of days when I was cut off on the freeway. I would have been in a major accident had I been driving my old Prius. It handles like a dream. Very small turning radius, which also makes it easier to drive.
2007 Lexus RX350 - I had to replace rack and pinion steering column due to a leak at 74k miles. I had to replace 2 coils in 2 of the cylinders, one at 62K and 77K miles. In a year, I have had to put over $2,200 in this supposedly reliable car. The car has lots of road noise. I was thinking it was the tires, but recently drove a 2013 loaner with new tires and the road noise is as bad as in my 2007. Im questioning whether or not it is really the tires at all. I looked at 3 Toyota SUVs and they all had awful road noise and thought that stepping up would be different. I cant wait to get rid of this car and will never get a Toyota or Lexus again. I do not know how this car gets the number 1 luxury mid-SUV ratings.
2008 RX 350 with 104,000 miles. I purchased extended warranty that was up 3 months ago. Took car in and was told I need a new water pump. Bearings in water pump went back causing leaking and affecting the heating and cooling system. Also need a new steering rack costing $1,700 by itself. It is also leaking. As I read through the comments Im seeing that these are consistent problems with Lexus. I usually keep cars at least 10 years. I have never owned a car that needed these type of repairs so soon. I am extremely disappointed because Lexus vehicles are supposed to be down for quality and reliability. If I had wanted a car just for appearance, I could have paid a lot less, knowing I may have to put in large repair sums. The water pump is supposed to cost over $1,000.00. Will not recommend vehicle. I purchased extended warranty knowing I was getting a reliable vehicle and probably wouldnt have to use it. But to be on the safe side because I had planned on keeping for well over 10 years. As soon as extended warranty expired, Im have costly problems.
Lexus offers a wide range of cars. These include sedans, SUVs, and sports cars. There are sub categories within each type of vehicle that generally relate to the size of the car - for example in the SUV category the smallest is the NX, the middle is RX and the largest is GX. Each of these categories also may have sub categories that usually relate to trim level. The Lexus car brand has always stood for a high quality luxury vehicle. Typically each model will include almost all of the features that one would think are associated with a luxury car within the standard price. There are additional packages of specialized features that are grouped logically at more cost - for example a cold weather package would include heated seats, 4 wheel drive, etc. The Lexus RX is a 5 passenger vehicle - two bucket seats in the front and a bench seat with seating for three in the back. There is no third row in this car. Each model has upgrade options that are presented as packages so that you can personalize the options to your needs to a degree. You are forced to go with a package even if you do not want or need everything in that package. That is a drawback to me.
I own a 2012 Lexus CT 200h. Absolutely love my car. 2 1/2 weeks I was in a car accident that was not my fault. My car went to Lexus of the quad cities to get an estimate. While in for getting the door fixed rust was noticed on both of the front door seams. We questioned it and had to get in contact with Lexus. My husband talked to Shawn directly at Lexus. They sent someone out to look at my car. Since my car has rust on the seams they will not cover it, as it is not rusted through. Lexus warranty says corrosion or perforation for 6 years unlimited miles. Since the door was already being painted it would not cost anymore to fix the seam under the door. Shawn told my husband nothing he could do about it and no one else he could speak to. I dont know about you but who wants to spend $40,000 on car that is only 4 years old and its rusted. I guess I thought buying a Lexus was not buying a Ford Focus, even though I owned a Ford Focus 10 years ago and it never rusted. Customer service not good, neither is warranty.
Lexus es350 2010 model. I bought it from dec 2013 at the dealer with certified pre ownership. I have regular maintenance with the Lexus requirement, but this morning I cannot start it and need for jump. When I bring to the dealer for check it they tell me, need to change the battery with the full cost, but my car battery have 84 month warranty on it with the Lexus logo but the dealer told me they just cover for 2 year warranty. I ask them what is 84 month warranty on that battery mean, they tell me if I don’t want change it, they put it back for the old one then they charge me $54 with do nothing and they said Lexus not make that battery. Now I need who can take place to give me the answer - do my battery still warrant or not, and who put the 84 month on it.
Full line of sedans, sporty coupes, hybrids and performance vehicles including the IS, GS, LS which are reliable. They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.
If you have a family of 4-5 of average size could fit comfortably in the LS 460. Great for travel and plenty of wiggle room. A huge trunk that could hold 2 adult bodies... just to give an idea of the trunk size! Totally amazing rear seat entertainment system. With dual screening so awesome! State of the art technology. Mesh grills and spoilers are really nice if you have the budget for it.
I have contacted the Lexus service and and went to the service departments in person. They all didnt accept the car. I dont get it. I had the car checked before I shipped it from the States and I did make a complaint about the engine shaking to the service department when I was in New York, Manhattan service center. I had the car checked and the service department told me everything was fine. Now the car is dangerous to drive, engine light is on and the traction light is on. I went to a mechanic here and he said that some cylinders needed to be replaced. Other than that, my drivers side drive shaft needs to be replaced due to the rubber that is wearing off and some kind of liquid is coming out of it, which cost a lot of money and I went to the dealership and they told me that they couldnt even order the parts for me because they would never come. The car has two recalls that needs to be done. The gas pedal keeps getting stuck to the carpet and something that has to do with the fuel, and Lexus is putting my life at risk because I got the car from the States. I really do not understand. The car is still a Lexus and still belongs to Lexus. Im demanding the repair to be done by Lexus company at least from Japan. If you would at least send me an email to someone I can speak to in Japan, I would really appreciate it. The car only has about 9000 miles which is considered still new. Ive asked the Lexus here in Saudi Arabia to at least check the car from the computer to see what the problem is. They refused and told me the codes wouldnt come up because its an American spec car which is really just an excuse because Im 100% sure that it will read all the codes. Please direct me to someones email, just someone who could help me. I moved to Saudi Arabia and had to ship my car because of my work and was transferred here. Im seriously going to look up legal actions against Lexus!
The touchscreen mode on the GPS/Information display screen unit has stopped working. I was told it cannot be repaired and must be replaced at a ridiculous charge. How can a unit like that not be repaired?
They have various sized sedans, SUVs that come in both all-wheel and front wheel drive. They are built well and last for a long time. They are fun to drive and come with many option packages. Features can include but are not limited to air-conditioned/heated seats, heated steering wheel, multi-disc CD player, radar controlled cruise control, heads up display, different sound systems, etc. Numerous options to choose from. Different dealerships offer different options, so you will have to check with your local dealership to see what they offer. Some options include gold plated badging, pin stripes, rubber floor mats, hood/front end stone chip protectant, etc. Their SUVs offer plenty of room for passengers with ample leg and head space. Their larger sedans also offer plenty of room for passengers. Their smaller sedans and sport cars dont have as much room but are still comfortable.
Lexus RX330 2004 with less than 100,000 miles has only been serviced at Lexus dealership. It appears to be a common problem and Lexus is well aware that the sunroof drain holes can get clogged. It caused the soaking of the cars carpet which needed to be replaced. It is a thousand of dollars repair. Lexus told us to turn it into our insurance company. It is not part of their maintenance schedule and they know it is a problem.
My complaint is with Lexus, not so much with the dealer. I started having resetting of the navigation system in my 2006 RX330 about six weeks ago with the issue occurring about every 1.5 hours. Now, it happens every 1.5 minutes. The issue does not interfere with the operation of the vehicle, but it is most annoying. Each time the system resets, the audio system is momentarily interrupted but the hands-free (Bluetooth) connection is killed, rendering it useless.I went to the Lexus dealer for a fix, assuming the problem would be minor--perhaps just a loose connection somewhere behind the dashboard. Surprise! They concluded that the five-year-old factory-installed navigation system needs complete replacement at a cost of $1740. Unbelievable. Will I look to Lexus when time comes to buy something new? Unlikely.
In 2011 I bought a certified pre-owned 2007 ES350 with 27,000 miles. I experienced rough shifting-clunking and jumping forward on hills. I took it in 4 times to the dealer in Fife, WA and duplicated the problem with the service manager. They reset-updated the computer on the transmission 3 times. But I still have the same problem. I wanted the problem taken care of before the warranty expired. The service manager told me that they could not fix it and would not replace the transmissions computer.I have had two other Lexus. I am very disappointed with their response to this problem. I paid extra for the certification and what did I get? Not what I would expect from a QUALITY car company.
I bought LEXUS LS 460 L 2011 in may 2011 new from Lexus dealer with trade my old RX hybrid 2008. My car break down within one year, Lexus took 18 days to fix it without charging any money from me and said it is under warranty. The same problem came last month including some issue in front end. I still have warranty, they keep my car for 2 weeks, then service advisor call me and told me that Lexus is not fixing the car because they said car has bed GAS, you speak Lexus and give me telephone number. I call Lexus, the lady who has my case said to me that because you using this car as a limousine that is why we decline your warranty. I told the lady that this car and also previous car I was using was limousine and dealer knows because they get me the limousine plate number. Then she said call your insurance. They will cover your car. I call insurance company, they said we only cover body damage, not mechanical problem, then I call Lexus lady again now she said we decline your warranty because you got bed gas, now you go to gas station and sue them, we are not fixing your car.You know why she said that, because they fixed my front end and change one of front air shock and Actuators absorb that is why she cannot denied anymore about warranty. Now I am in problem calling Lexus but not getting any response from them. Please, I request consumer affairs and Lexus head office to take some action, this is very expensive car I bought over $90,000.00 including tax and finance. Thanks.
We have owned other makes and the worst dealer experiences have been with Lexus. This is not our first negative experience but it is the latest. Lately we discovered what Id call seeping at the water pump. The start of a leak. Not dripping yet. Thought best to have it fixed before it gets worse. Brought it in and Dealer said it was not leaking so it would not be repaired under warranty. To add insult they suggested we should Test drive a new model (joke).
Ive received a Warranty Enhancement Notification ZLD over a year ago and the Lexus dealership that I take my 2006 RX330 for service tells each time I contact them about fixing my dashboard that the parts are not available. Im writing this to find out when the parts to fix my RX330 dashboard will be available at the dealerships. This issue has lowered the resale value of my RX330.
Before I begin my complaint I would like to say the car drives very well and is very sporty. I get a lot of compliments on the vehicle, then they say why is that peeling like that? My Email correspondence with Lexus about my issue: I have a 2006 GS300. I recently noticed my molding along the front windshield that runs along the top to the windshield beginning to PEEL. Really unbelievable for a luxury car. It is embarrassing and damaging to the Lexus brand to have something like this occur AT NO FAULT of my own to this vehicle. I was at the local dealership on a separate issue and was told the roof drip molding was $763.67, absolutely unbelievable. Total repair cost $1200. Why would this peel like this? This is my second Lexus. I had a LS430 before this. I have by far had more issues out of this vehicle than any others I have owned. I am just blown away and I need Lexus to stand behind their brand. I would like the roof molding repaired. This is just ridiculous to have an issue like this on this type of car.The response from Lexus: Thank you for contacting the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department regarding your 2006 GS 300, Vehicle Identification Number **. We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. As an automotive manufacturer, Lexus feels its warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, and demonstrates faith in the performance and reliability of its product line. Lexus also realizes that product failures can occur on any vehicle at any time, and regrets any inconvenience this may cause. In an effort to be sensitive to the expectations of Lexus customers, we review matters on a case by case basis when a product failure occurs outside the warranty period. We have examined all information pertinent to your request for assistance, including the nature of the repair, mileage on the vehicle, and the warranty expiration date. We conclude it is not appropriate for Lexus to provide assistance on the repair of the front windshield moldings. We apologize that this may not be the response you hoped for. If you require further assistance, please contact the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Time.My final response: First off thank you for your time and attention to my concern, however I am not pleased with the decision. I see now purchasing a second Lexus was a mistake on my part. I understand Lexus has the right to not stand behind their product and I have the right to not purchase their product. I understand CLEARLY from the discussion from my service advisor that I purchased a USED vehicle not a new one. However as I stated I purchased a used Lexus with a verifiable service history. In fact it was a Lexus certified vehicle. I purchased a used Lexus, not a used Hyundai, Mazda, Chevy, Honda or Ford. Which by the way has a more comprehensive warranty than a Lexus. 5 years, 7 years, and lifetime on certain parts. And cost far less on the initial purchase. Now a Lexus as stated in consumer reports has a better resale and loan value. So I suppose there is the trade off.But as I stated on the outset I will not be purchasing another USED Lexus product certified or not. I will however let the message board know about my experience. I will also let anyone know about Lexus products/customer service and if the paint begins to peel for no reason, out of the blue it’s your issue. Lexus customer service will stand behind the small issues but when it comes to anything costly you’re on your own. I wonder if the door falls off next or the spoiler blows off while driving, the bumper just comes unhooked for no reason, my seat brakes apart… I mean really whats next. Even though it’s a luxury car, it’s not quality built - these are things that should not happen to this type of car. This email may not mean much in the grand picture. I am just one consumer, but I will exercise my right as a consumer. My wife and I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Audi, and Infiniti. We never had any issues like this to occur. Lexus wants nearly $1200 for a piece of plastic molding!!! Ironically I have never heard of these things happening with a Toyota, only with a Lexus. A Lexus may look good but the quality is another subject.
Lexus had issues with brake actuators so the warranty was extended and letters were sent. If you didnt have a problem during the warranty period no action was required and no action would be taken on the vehicle. The warning came up on the dash after the extended warranty was over. We were told by the Dealership Service Manager that Lexus Corporate had always helped in the past on this issue so We had the work done at the Lexus dealership, about $3,500. When Lexus Corporate was contacted the Lexus case manager said they would have to look into it. They called back my cell but left no message at all. I called back but the case manager was unavailable, and I was told they would call back. This same process repeated several times. Finally, I was able to speak with the case manager and was told the policy is strict and nothing is done on extended warranty after the warranty period is over. Why were we not told of the unbending policy from the beginning? To the contrary we were told that Lexus had always covered this issue out of warranty in the past. We could have taken the car for the repairs somewhere else and saved money but were led to believe Lexus would probably provide full relief. Why is Lexus charging full price and making a profit from a known issue?
I found 3 design flaws with my 2012 LS460L none of which Lexus will fix. The 1st incident occurred in Novato, CA making a right turn from the Ignacio Blvd bridge over 101N to Nave Dr. after a rain the previous day. When the front of the car slid slightly, the skid control turned the wheels sharply to the left forcing the car into the lane to my left. Fortunately, there was no car in that lane or there would have been an accident. I was able to regain control but Lexus refuses to investigate this issue insisting it must be reproduced by a dealer for them to act. This is impossible as no dealer has facilities to do this. The 2nd incident occurred on a hill at the intersection of Willard & Parnassus in San Francisco on 3/14/14. I had made a U-Turn to enter a parking space on Willard and was facing downhill. When I put the car in reverse, it rapidly rolled forward which is not expected in an automatic. I submitted video evidence of this to Lexus and this problem was reproduced by Freeman Lexus in Santa Rosa which, however, has no way to fix the problem, and Lexus refuses to do so though this, too, could be a safety hazard. This 3rd incident occurred on 4/14/14 when, at Woodland Market in Ross, I put my car in reverse and the rear view camera did not come on. I put it back in park and then back into reverse and the camera still did not come on. I made a video of this and sent it to Lexus and went to Lexus of Marin to show them the problem. They would have to take the car but I could not give it to them and explained this would not occur again if the car was turned off and started again - which I showed them to be true. This also could be a hazard but Freeman Lexus cannot reproduce this and Lexus absolves itself of any responsibility. Lexus, in fact, tells me if the car works as designed based on what the dealer can find, they will not fix or investigate the issue even if safety is involved. This violates the Toyota DOJ agreement.
Put in gas, change oil, just drive and enjoy. This is my fourth Lexus and I found no fault with any of them. I would not consider any other brand for my personal use. The only other cars I own are also Toyota products.
It is comfortable, nice handling, easy to park and a good looking SUV. We looked at all of the luxury 5 passenger SUVs and the RX-350 stood out above all the rest. Good performer and satisfactory fuel mileage for an AWD.
Great car. Drives well, handles great, decent gas mileage, durability, great storage capacity. Love the leather interior that lasts. Mine is over 8 years old and has never had any mechanical issues. When I do decide to get a newer vehicle, it will definitely be another RX!
