I have just bought a Kia Sorento 2018 this month. What I want the public to learn here is not to repeat the same mistake that I made at the dealership. I was actually happy to buy the Sorento, but when I signed the paperworks, I didn’t pay too much attention to the details. All I had in mind was I was gonna pay the amount that me and the salesman agreed on. I did not catch an additional fee for "EXTENDED WARRANTY". This was not even explained to me. I was not aware of it. It costed me $2700, and since this was added to the loan amount. It would basically cost me more. Now when I look at my new Kia Sorento, I feel ashamed of myself for buying Kia. I was just foolish!!! God knows how I could forgive myself.

Called Kia, stated I have had a sensor problem concerning air bag. And that they replaced the seat assembly once before because the sensor is housed there. The red warning light remains. I spoke to them and said I finally saw my year make and model was under recall. However, even though looking at their paperwork and agreed it was done, told me my car is not under the stated warranty recall of Kia Rio 2006 to 2008 because they assemble it in 05. Needless to say I'm very displeased. And he was unwilling to discuss a solution as it has never been taken care of. I remain with warning light. And I like my little car but don't think I would buy again or my family... as they are aware of problem and will not correct. And the person I just spoke to said that their dealer was a liar, when they said the sensor was located in front passenger seat. Funny as Kia replaced seat free of charge during first year... but with same issue. My hopes to finally have fixed right when I saw the make year and model of my car under recall for my issue got slammed down again. I remain with red warning light and no resolve.. And he was not a nice person to talk with either.

With my new purchased 2016 Kia Sorento, the body lines do not match up where the drivers door meets!! The bottom half of the rear edge of the left front door sticks out and I couldn't get it fixed at your Lockwood Kia service. On 3 attempts even Kia Canada is involved... This is a big deal to me on a brand new $30k car.At the end despite their bumper to bumper warranty I am told that couple of inches is acceptable and there is nothing to do to correct it. How you can trust such a company if they are telling you it is acceptable to have problems on a brand new car. Is there anything acceptable on the brakes or engine? Stay away from Kia. They are a big scam.

We have a 2013 Kia Sorento we bought in 2012. Last year my wife informed me 3 different times that when she would back out into traffic after picking our children up from day care, the SUV would stall. It was inspected by Kia a few times. They were not able to find anything wrong. They took out the electric starter thinking that was the problem and put a new one in. We had no issues until this year when my wife backed out and almost was rear-ended. I went in to Kia and spoke to the manager where we bought the Kia. They informed me that they don't know what the problem is. They are not able to reenact the stalling, so nothing happens. What is frustrating is I called Kia Canada and all they can do for us is Record the issues that I have had, nothing else. What is it going to take, for my wife to back out into traffic and be rear-ended after the Kia stalls? I have a 3 and 7 year olds still in car seats. As a Father and husband, my blood boils to think that they have no idea what is causing this which puts my family in imminent risk. And having a factory warranty that is no good to me? My family is everything to me. I feel trapped as I cannot afford to lose 10 to 12 thousand dollars if I sell. I cannot justify selling the vehicle to someone else as I cannot, nor will be responsible if the vehicle stalls and someone gets hurt or worse, killed. So I pray!!!

My 2010 Kia Soul has 113,000 miles and according to Kia needs a new crank shaft. Apparently the crank shaft bearing failed causing the damage and requiring a rebuilt engine costing $4000!!! Customer service was horrible... offering no assistance, excuses or closure. Apparently they stand by a vehicle only lasting 113,000 miles. I have done all of the required maintenance and then some. And I had to call the regional office customer service for 3 days before I talked to anyone. Now the dealership wants money for a misdiagnosis and a broken car... I am so disappointed and frustrated.

Would like to see 2014 and 2015 KIA Soul's third-party tested for actual horsepower and torque numbers. Having owned a 2010 KIA Soul + and now a 2014 KIA Soul +, the 2014 KIA Soul feels underpowered given KIA-stated numbers.

I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty. I thought I would be covered for equipment-related vehicle breakdowns. Two days later, on August 18, 2012, which was a Saturday, the car would not start. It was in the afternoon outside a store in the rain. After calling the local Kia dealership, it was expeditiously towed to that dealership. I rented a car and went about my business, hoping that everything would be covered under the "excellent" warranty. It turned out to be the battery. It was replaced for this dealer, but as a "maintenance" issue, I had to pay for it. During this process, I was told that the Arizona heat is hard on batteries. This being the case, I believe that Kia policies be changed, and customer not be sent out with an unwarranted battery. To me, it reflects badly on Tempe Kia and Kia as a whole. Another issue is covered in another complaint.

I was driving into town to get gas before heading to work. I ran out of gas, called my roadside assistance, had them come give me fuel, tried starting it, and the roadside assistance person thought the battery was dead, and put a charger on it, and it still wouldn't start, and was recommended to have it towed, which I did. I called my mechanic at noon, to find out it had no oil, and the engine was seized. When I went to the shop there were no codes that pulled and I had no lights on the dash, no oil light, no check engine, etc. The mechanic actually had to show me where the oil light was, as it is right next to the low fuel light - I would have noticed it. I've spoken to Kia who says there have been no issues with the 2012 Kia Sorento, but I beg to differ. I believe the sensor or fuse for the oil light had to have been malfunctioning, which led to my vehicle running out of oil, unlike Kia who suggested it was due to negligent maintenance on my part.

KIA in Mentor, Ohio advertised: Drive home a used vehicle for $199. Not $199 a month or $199 down. For $199. The ad goes on to say how much they have marked down their KIAs. Well, when I went in twice, after I heard the ad, a month apart, for the $199 cars, the salesman looked at me like I'm crazy. I told him what his ad said. He said, "Well, we have 2 maybe. One needs a motor; the other, a tranny." Each time I went there, I was told the same thing. He didn't say "Oh, I had 10, and we sold them." He looked at me with a smirk on his face. This is false and misleading advertising! I have again heard this ad 2 weeks ago.

I purchased new First Edition Kia EV6. The first editions came with a free home charger. Unfortunately, it was not with car when I drove it off the lot and the dealership had no clue on how to get it or even what the process was. I have contacted Kia corporate twice with no help and even contacted the company that is supposed to ship it with no help. No one at the dealership or at Kia has any definitive info on this program. Buyers of the EV 6 are left with being able to charge their cars at home. It’s an egregious process and someone at Kia needs to step up and give customers valid information.
