My 2014 Kia Sorento has less than 8,000 miles on it. If it sets, not driven for more than 5-6 days, the battery is DEAD!!! The dealership says I have to drive it 3-4 times a week to keep battery charged!!! HORSE HOCKEY!!! Is anyone else having this issue????
Took my car in, notice the next day that oil had dripped from car. Had got oil change, tire rotation and change radiator out and got inspection on car. Drove car to bank next day. Came back home, saw something on side walk. It was oil that had leaked out. Car had to get tolled in to Hutchinson dealer, was without car but they didnt ask me if I wanted a car. And then I had call them several times after I sent a picture of what had happen. They are very careless, my car was the first one there for the times I have been there. They dont speak to you but want you to buy car from them then they are nice. After that they treat you like nothing.
DO NOT BUY KIA!!! ITS NOT WORTH IT!! 3 months ago on 4/1/2021, Folsom Lake Kia received my new 2020 Kia Sorento for repairs from the result of a collision (WHICH I HAD JUST BROUGHT SIX MONTHS AGO). They sent my vehicle to Toyota Collision center (right next door) which according to Toyota Collision center would take 1 month to be completed/repaired. However, they notified me that they werent responsible for ordering/shipping of the necessary parts needed to repair my vehicle, that Kia Roseville was responsible. Toyota Collision was ONLY responsible for receiving the parts to repair the damaged car.For the first 30 days, my insurance covered my rental. But come to find out my repairs were going to take longer, due to a part being sent from kia damaged and received damaged by Toyota collision center. Toyota Collision also informed us the remaining parts were on back order due to covid, so you would think they would try to compensate their loyal customers in any way they could. That negligence put my cars repair status back a whole month. So I went to speak with Folsom Lake Toyota collision center to compensate me, since the part was going to have to be reordered because of it arriving damaged. Toyota collision center said its not their job to assists us with a rental, that Folsom lake kia should since theyre the ones working with our insurance and ordering/shipping the parts needed to repair my vehicle. So I took the advice of many people working on site, and I spoke with Folsom Lake Kias head supervisor (Doug I believe his name was) to get my issue handled at the lowest level possible. My wife and I, inquired about a rental or loaner vehicle, until my vehicle was completed/repaired.He informed us that it doesnt work that way and that we would have to contact Kia Motors of America to receive assistance. So we did.... And since then Kia Motors of America along with: Kia Motors Finance, Kia Consumer Affairs, Kia Assistance Team, Kia Collections Department have ALL avoided assisting us with solving our problem, (due to their initial negligence). Theyve ALL hung up on my wife and I, kept us on hold for hours on end, kept transferring my wife and I to different departments to avoid us speaking with their supervisors, been rude and said disrespectful things, tried to get us to sign falsified documents. So 3 (almost 4 months later) of rude, careless, and negligent departments, customer service associates, and supervisors (JILLIAN in collections department being the worst!) Im FED UP, with the horrible service Ive had to endure over the 3 months, which has caused tremendous stress on my wife and I, especially since we have 3 kids one of which is a new born! So since its virtually impossible to reach the head of these departments (cause they keep you on hold). So Ive had to leave a review here! To warn others of the horrible service, THAT COMES WITH PURCHASING A KIALong story short, DO NOT BUY FROM KIA! They dont solve issues at the lowest level possible and DEFINITELY DONT solve issues at the higher levels possible! Even in the midsts of a pandemic we cant receive any genuine help from ANYONE! & if you dont believe me read some reviews from Kia Motor finance!! They do not care about helping you! Money is everything! NOT YOU OR FAMILIES WELLBEING! Be safe, & God bless!
2010 Kia Optima service - I have taken my car on three different occasions for the front driver side wheel. I hit a curve and was trying to make sure that the rim and/or the tire was not bad. Each time I have taken it, they said they could not find anything wrong with the tire or the rim. But the tires have been rotated and now the rim is back on the front and my steering wheel is shaking badly. I took it back today and stayed there from 8AM to 1PM, to be told that I need to get a wheel alignment, tire balance and rotation, but it would be another 2 hours. I told them that I have been there all day and I have to go. This is not right. How many times do I have to take my car to get it serviced? The end result? No service.
I brought my daughters ‘14 Sorento to Kia Coral Springs 5/30 for regular service as well as an evaluation of a serious situation relative to the paint peeling off several areas of the car not affected by road stones or anything other than a factory defect. I brought it first to a paint and body shop and was told in 2 minutes to bring it to Kia consumer affairs. It was in his expert opinion, clearly a factory defect issue. There were photos taken at the dealership and passed on to the local Kia representative responsible for evaluating any type of bodywork. I just heard from Kia corporate consumer affairs and because the warranty expired, regardless what caused the problem, it’s the owners responsibility. I have a friend who had the exact same situation last year with a Nissan product...also expired warranty and also a factory defect causing the paint to peel. They repainted the car and now have a loyal Nissan customer for life.As a result, I will have her car painted and promptly trade it in for anything other than another Kia product. I will share this story of a very short-sighted company with anyone contemplating the purchase of a Kia in the future. The reverse would have been true if this company was more open minded and interested in promoting goodwill. Their fault, but easy way out was turn a blind eye to what’s right and hide behind “their” warranty protection. Kia, one and done!
2004 Black Pontiac sold car that have been wrecked 4 times and in test, never went down.
i have been having trouble putting fuel in my 2003 Kia Sorento. My warranty has already expired. I did get a recall letter from Kia for the fuel filter replacement, at which time I felt sure this was my problem, and since it was a recall, would be taken care of by Kia. They explained to me that the reason it was recalled was because it was not listed in the manual at all, as something to be changed every so many miles. They sent two pages to be added to the manual. My local Kia dealership did change the fuel filter. That same day, after trying to put fuel in the car, I find nothing had changed. I called them and asked them to look at it again, and took it back several days later, as they were to change another recall, known as the induction control valve, and check my fuel tank once again. They told me that a charcoal canister located in the fuel system had come apart, and I now had charcoal debris in my gas tank, which of course was not covered, and that part was $134.90, and the labor would be $199.00. I went home and went through my manual for a couple of hours trying to locate this charcoal canister, to better understand how such a thing could happen. After having no luck locating it in the manual, I called Kia, and told them my dilemma, and asked them if they could tell me where in the manual this part is located, and are you ready for this? I was told it was not in the manual, because it was not listed as maintenance! I asked well how would anyone know it was even there, if it wasnt listed. They said it was just a part that was never to be changed at any point and time. Now Im going to be out $350.00, on a part that no one knows existed, nor was ever to be changed. I write this in hopes that it will help anyone else, who is having similar problems. If your fuel spits back at you, or you have to dribble the fuel in, it may be this part that no one knew about, or was not a part that should ever need maintenance. Sorry, but a Kia is not in my future.
I love my Kia Rio. It gets great gas mileage. I bought it used, but I will be getting a 2014 Kia Rio 5 door this fall.
I am writing in reference to the safety of my children. I am a single mother of two (one having a disability). I have purchased my second Kia in the past three years. I love my Kia Soul. I have only had this car a year and five months. I am very saddened to know that my motor is causing my car to burn oil so frequent that I am having to add up to a quart a week to make sure that my engine does not lock up on me. I am so upset knowing that as a single mother, I just cannot afford to buy an engine, a motor, nor can I afford to get one fixed. I use my car on a daily basis to transport my children, and for my job. I am planning a move across the country in June and I just do not know what I am going to do. Is there anyway someone from Consumer Affairs can help me get this fixed. My warranty is out because I am over 100,000 miles. I bought an extended warranty upon purchasing the used vehicle. I am aware there are recalls happening with Kia and would like to know if my car qualifies. I am taking a risk everyday on putting my children in that car. I was so upset when I spoke with someone in Consumer Affairs and the only response they gave me was that I better try and hire a lawyer! Please I am begging for someone to help me. After my family and I have been valued customers for years and have purchased a total of seven cars out of the East Tennessee lot, I know that there is something that you all can do. Please help!!!!
09/20/2015; I bought Kia Amanti on Aug. 2009 and still I am first owner. The title issued around 30 miles. My car was towed to dealership caused transmission problems around 85,000 miles under 10 years. The Kia warranty does not cover for my car. This is very strange. I am continuously contact Kia consumer dept.
2008 Sorento - Kia is just trying to wait me out on the warranty! I had it in four times on two different dealers. They replaced the hub but not the compressor and thats what is bad. Im within 6,000 of the end of the warranty. I have no doubt after reading all the other complaints about this year and the A/C problem that once Im over the 60,000, then they will say it needs to be replaced. I will never buy another Kia. A warranty is only as good as what they will back up and how well they honor it!
I have owned my Kia since May 2006 had it now for a little over five years. I too, like many other, called Kia consumer assistance line the first few weeks after purchasing the car from Kia Country in South Carolina. Like everyone else, I thought I got a deal and the sales people were really nice too, until you sign the paperwork and they put the keys in your hand. That is when all of the problems begin.I complained of the paint peeling. They told me that there was nothing that they could do, so I let it go because it wasnt very noticeable, but that was my mistake. After that, more and more problems began to occur like the blinker lights blow out every couple of months. Twice, they blow out at the end of the drive way. I brought my car right back to them and all they did was replace it, but the very last time, I refused to take my car back until they did some further investigation. They did, and the results were that they had a short, so I went. After another couple of months, they blew out again. The air bag light comes on and goes off. They were supposed to fix it again, but like everything Kia supposedly fixed, doesnt last very long but only a few months. My chamber and chassis cannot be aligned per tires, plus I brought the 3 year alignment when I purchased new tires from them last year, but have never had a proper alignment. They suggested that I take it to the dealer. I took it to the dealer in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. All of these existing problems, the dealer did not fix or dont want to produce paper for.Now that the warranty is no longer effective, they want me to pay for all of the problems that were never addressed by corporate or the dealer Stokes Hodges Kia of Augusta, GA customer service. They have had about 4 or 5 managers since the purchase of my car. I was considering buying another Kia some time ago, but with the many ongoing problems I had with my Kia, I would never buy another Kia ever in life. You have poor customer service. You guys have left a bad taste in my mouth. I want rest until justice is serviced.
In 2010, I brought a new Kia Forte koup. I love my car. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF THAT CAR. But I broke my back and could not do the low cars getting in and out of them. So I went to Kia and traded on 11-2-13 for a 2014 Kia Sorento. Well, things went down hill. 1st week, had to go back and they had to do a 4 wheel alignment. Then the door handle fell apart. Went back, had that put on, then it fell apart again. The back doors had a gap in them were you could put half your hand in them. Well, after going back every Saturday for 6 weeks, GM had me come in to change car out. But every 2014 Sorento on the lot had same problems. Then I traded for a 2013 Kia Soul. Up till now, no problem till yesterday. When am going down road and a piece of my car comes off and almost hit 2 other cars. So I have had to send this morning at the dealer again. If it was not for service lady where I go, I would have already went crazy on people. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY OTHER KIA AGAIN WHEN I TRADE THIS ONE IN!!!!!! !
My 2013 KIA Souls clutch blew up at 11,000 miles after purchase. KIAs service department located at Temecula, CA said the warranty does not cover the Clutch because it is a worn item. So I paid the $1,544 for a new one. The replacement clutch grinds in first gear after just 2,000 miles. A friend, who happens to be a top notch auto mechanic, said it has a bad release or throw-out bearing. I can get by with this problem if I use unorthodox methods for shifting in/out of first gear. A mechanic for KIA said the clutches were built to last for 40,000 miles prior to recommended replacement.I contacted the Lawfirm McCuneWright, LLP and they may be interested in a class action lawsuit. They have sued and won huge lawsuits against Hyundia/KIA in the past. I noted there were 1,360 complaints against the clutch, alone (from forums, blogs). Forcing Hyundia/KIA to recall all KIAs/Hyundias from 2010 to 2015 and refunding the clients money would bankrupt them. I have a legal career of approximately 35 years. Hope my experience helps somebody.
I purchased a 2014 Kia Rio with 100 kms on the odo. I work as a service advisor at an auto shop so I knew the ins and outs of maintaining my car, had my car serviced regularly. In June 2016 my check engine light came on and heard clicking from my engine. Then clanking, then my car shut down. I had one of our mechanic to check my car and he said my engine seized. I checked Kia’s website to see if there was any recalls or issues with Kia Rios... There was a recall on 3 other models of Kia for the same issue but my car was not on the list. I called the dealership and they said there was nothing they could do for me because I was 17,000 kms past my warranty. I also called Kia’s head office and they said the same thing and tried to charge me for a new engine. Because I work at a shop I made my own arrangement and had them replace my engine with a used Kia engine with 33,000kms on it. $3,000 and a week later my car was back on the road. The mechanic was curious of the engine issue so he took it apart and saw the pistons broke (which was also the issue for the other Kias) so it’s been less than a year and with being paranoid I made sure my oil changes were done almost monthly. 38,000 kms later here we are again with another seized engine. Had an synthetic oil change done March 6th and April 6th a month to the day clicking coming from my engine. The tech checked the oil level and there was almost no oil in my engine. There was no leak... The techs think it was leaking internally. My pistons are gone yet again. I still owe $12,000 on a car that I can’t drive and Kia will not do anything about this. When I read these forums and other social outlets there are literally hundreds of complaints about these cars for mostly the same reason. I will be taking this higher and to the media if needed. Kia needs to take responsibility for building bad engines and robbing people of their money. This is unacceptable.
I purchased a 2008 KIA rondo in 2012 with 19,000 miles on it from a Kia dealership. We are now into 2015 with 51,000 miles and the engine is locked up! All I can say is they make really crap cars for an engine to lock up at 51k. I took great care of my car, getting all oil changes and services done on time. I will never buy another Kia and I will steer anyone I know from Kia as well.
I received my 2011 Sorento today, after it being at the dealership for nearly three months. It underwent catastrophic engine failure due to a faulty camshaft causing the engine to seize. We are the second owner and the car was 2000 miles over the used car warranty of 60000 miles - the issues we had were exactly the same as what was noted in a class action suit for earlier models. The dealership was fair, providing us with a loaner car after a month of the car being there (we only have one vehicle). Corporate however was astonishing in its lack of professionalism and dishonesty. Corporate insisted that we have a diagnostic done and that I would not be responsible for it if it showed that we were not at fault, we were not and they did not cover it. They told us and a dealership employee that they would cover half of the engine and labor. They did not and then denied the statement and refused to pull phone tapes that would prove it. I also left over 40 messages for the manager without a single call back. Even the dealership employee said they were notorious for this kind of behavior. Im disappointed and frustrated and urge anyone dealing with corporate to tape their calls as well. Thank you.
Think twice before get a Kia. “Did you have a gun pointed to your head when you signed the lease?” This is what the General Manager a Kia Internationals in Orland told me after some argument about the whole process with this dealer and how dishonest was the process. I agreed with sales people about buying a car advertised by a price. All good until go to finance and they say, I can’t give you that deal unless you do a lease which was never the agreement. I did sign the lease with certain “assumptions” that they said yes so I would buy the car after 3 months lease and later find out that it was not like that at all. Trying to resolve the situation somehow he tells me something like that above and “I am not just gonna sit here hearing you complaining”.Guess no matter how reason you are, a place that treats you like that doesn’t deserve to get your business. As soon they make the deal they don’t give you proper customer service including Kia Usa that I tried to address and they say they can’t do anything because they are not the owners of the dealer. Never had a Kia before and will be last time after this horrible experience.Joao **
Updated on 12/16/2019: Original Consumer Affairs complaint was filed 12/05/19. Their solution: They contacted the dealer that the body shop making the repairs is receiving the part from a wholesale part company. They yet again after 2 missed dates of which they claim the part would have arrived in which never happened. Now they claim they contacted the dealer with a new date of December 23rd 2019. Best part of it, They wont provide a rental (which most dealers have loaners) and also declined reimbursing the portion of the cost due to them not having the part available for my vehicle nor any other similar make/year. So because they cant provide it or dont have it customers like us need to wait and suffer. Why because as the customer escalations specialist described unfortunately they are coming from overseas, he did tell me that it has been put on an emergency status. We will not offer reimbursement or a rental at this time because you are outside of warranty and you are having the repairs done at a 3rd party. I do apologize. Not only have I not had the vehicle mind you (still financed) for 3 months now while paying for a rental right before Christmas but the only solution they could provide was calling the dealer for a proposed new date of arrival. But me as a customer need to jump threw hoops and submit claims both here and on social media and BBB just to get someone to pick up the phone.I have 4 children and with more than $900 worth of rental costs + deductible + an open ended date of when a part will come in with the only solution being a new date of arrival, and sorry that all we can offer is ridiculous. As the Regional manager said I am a regional manager, I would be the one you would pursue this. Unfortunately, we are not offering that. I will follow up with that dealer to make sure they get the part.Original Review: Be-careful buying a KIA. I thought I was being smart by buying a KIA which normally Id go for Dodge or Chevy! For 3 months my 2016 Kia Sedona has been in a shop waiting for KIA to actually provide or shall I say Manufacture a part in South Korea. Meanwhile I am paying for a rental. Corporate customer service couldnt help much. I was told the part needs to be ordered within the dealer, and the district manager needs to request it from Kia in South Korea to have it made. Its a damn wire harness. 3 Months with No ETA is unacceptable! I cant believe the manufacturer of the vehicle cant produce the part # 91112-A9370. I am willing to trade in the damn vehicle and NEVER BUY KIA AGAIN! I bought the car to last on the road for my family, not to last parked at the shop! Ridiculous.
My 2002 Kia just wouldnt start. I had it towed. The mechanic said that the problem is the switch (a $20 spare part), but because it was behind the timing chain. They had to tear the whole front of the engine off to get to it. It cost me $1100. I will never buy another Kia, and I will be telling all my friends to avoid them like the plague. This is just one of several issues I had with the car.
My Picanto 2011 horn or Klaxon, was working properly, but when I came down the mountains to arrive at sea level, it stopped for a while and it worked again by itself. I took my car to the Kia maintenance room at Beirut, Lebanon, but they wouldnt know the reason. They just answered, “we dont know, its working now.” Take note, I bought the car from Kia Lebanon with 0km.The interiors are crunching, especially the front glass. Is it normal? Take note that Lebanon does not have high temperature, we are not Sahara that the car should melt. The wheel stands are easily damaged and I repair them by kicking them, are they plastic?
Bought new Kia Soul 2014. Very hard to see out of when I am changing lanes. The wide right rear panel block view. I have had starting problems since October 2015. I never go anywhere without my jumper cables. In November 2015 I had to leave the car at dealership for 3 days so they could try to figure out the problem. They decided I needed a new battery. I am still having starting problems. I brought the car in last month they said there is no problem. Yesterday had to have it jumped 3 times. Im disgusted.
My lease expired a few weeks ago. I owed money for the mileage. I tried to pay it online and it told me it would not allow me to pay my mileage through my online account. Which seems very odd to me but I called the number was on hold a longtime continually listening to the same message telling me to go online which was very annoying. I get a lady on the phone whos reading me verbatim all these things acting like Im a year overdue when in fact Im not late at all on this payment. Shes telling me shes trying to collect a debt. Im trying to nicely to interrupt her and tell her I know thats why Im calling to pay my bill. She proceeded to tell me how rude I was being and that Im not letting her finish. There was nothing to finish, I was not past due so she needed to stop treating me like I have poor credit. I tried to pay the mileage with my credit card which they said they cannot accept a credit card payment. Which to me money is money it should not matter. They are not willing to work with you. They are not willing to be friendly. I have never been a day late on a 3.5 year lease. I would stay away from Kia Finance at all costs. If I would have known what I know now I would have gone through my own bank. Do not buy a Kia.
I bought a 2012 Kia Soul. I bought a new car because I live up north where the winters are cold. So I wanted a new car with a good heater. I dont have that in the Kia Soul. The temp gauge in the car drops and I get cool to lukewarm air. I have taken it to my dealership and they had it almost 2 weeks and nothing. They keep telling me it is normal. I have had several cars and none of them had them temp gauge drop and get warm air or cool. I was told that Kia put in a larger radiator than is needed for this size car and they wont do anything about it. If this is as hot as the Kia Soul gets, then Kia should not be selling it up north where the winters are long and cold. As anyone else had this issue.
I have owned 2 Kia Souls in the past 4 years. The first car had some paint problems in that a lot of chipping was going on and not only around the wheels. There was paint chipping on the sides and at the top of the roof. We dont live on a gravel road nor do we drive on any gravel roads, when I took the car in for this, keeping in mind that this is the 2010 model with 83000 km. The dealership took some pictures and sent them in to Kia for the ok to go ahead and fix the problem. Kia gave them the go ahead and we got our car repainted. The new paint on the car was considerably better, in fact we had no real chipping and as the body guy said it was because there was actually some paint on the car.We traded this car in for a 2012 Kia Soul and now are facing the same problem. The difference is that I actually installed mud flaps on this car when I got it home and it is worse than the first car, in fact at the back wheel there is no paint at all and the car has surface rust developing on about a 4 area. Showing this to the dealer, they went through the same procedure of taking pictures and submitting them to Kia, this time the verdict was different. They are not going to cover the paint work. They are not going to paint the car. I have called Kia Customer service and awaiting a call back.
First I had to replace the clutch in my 2012 Kia soul ($700.00) and it had less than 70k miles. So I just happen to google the problem and its one of the top problems with the cars and Kia is debating or may have already quit with the production. This was 2 months ago. Now my wheel bearings are needing replaced? My soul has 70022 miles and I am so annoyed with the warranty not that it would have helped - I bought it 1000 miles used... give me a break. I am going to get in touch with consumeraffairs. This is ridiculous.
Absolutely great job done by Kia on Stinger GT/AWD. Unbelievable. I am professional driver, my friend just bought this car. And I drive a lot with him. Amazing car! For the money. I cant believe its Kia. I drove a lot of different cars and trucks in 30 years... Porsche level.
With the advent of keyless entry, there are bound to be lost key FOBS. They are ridiculous in price. Then you have to go to a dealer to have it programmed. They get you coming and going. Same with the built-in GPS. The new maps are expensive. I did not care for the car app that is for your phone either. No issues with the mechanical aspects of the Sorento even though if there was, KIA tech info was bought out by Snap on and you cannot access free repair info any longer.
This is my second Kia Soul! I love the cars performance and the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty (The best in the business)! That being said, several weeks ago, while driving northbound on the Interstate 5 freeway in densely automobile populated rush hour traffic, I got a flat tire. No big deal. That happens! What doesnt happen is calling Triple A and NOT FINDING A SPARE TIRE in the trunk upon the servicemans arrival! The serviceman was very accommodating. He explained that several years ago, spare tires were omitted as standard equipment (especially in small cars) to improve gas mileage (less weight equals increases fuel efficiency). My last Kia Soul was year 2011 so I didnt know there was no spare in the new models. Oh, by the way, I bought my Kia Soul from Alhambra Kia, Kia of Alhambra! NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THAT DEALERSHIP! Their customer service is absolutely horrible! In my hour of need, I called the dealership to ask why I had not been informed that there was no spare tire in my trunk and I was transferred to an answering machine! I left a message, but NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK!Anyway, I then called the national Kia Roadside Assistance Center where I spoke to an excellent receptionist whose goal was to serve my needs! She referred me to Downtown LA Kia. THIS IS ANOTHER KIA DEALERSHIP YOU SHOULD NEVER EXPECT PROPER SERVICE FROM! The national receptionist said changing the new tire I had bought elsewhere would be free! According to Downtown LA Kia, the service charge was $25. No big deal! EXCEPT FOR THE PRINCIPAL INVOLVED! I had already experienced a potentially traumatic event due to the companys negligence and now, I was just looking for someone, anyone from Kia to offer some form, any form of customer satisfaction! NO ONE SATISFIED MY NEEDS! The next day, I visited KIA OF ALHAMBRA and the manager apologized but HE DIDNT MAKE ME HAPPY! As result, I will never buy another Kia automobile! And I will never ever, never ever never buy a car from Kia of Alhambra!
2013 Kia Optima Recall: My car was checked and determined to have the issue with metal shavings in the engine. They have arranged for an immediate loaner - even though they do not know when they will have an engine for me. I asked them what the new warranty will be for this new engine and I cant get a clear answer. Will it be the full 100,000 miles which only seems fair? They said they had heard that it might be and extra 20,000 to 50,000 on top of the original warranty. I would have thought that they would have had that detail worked out by now.
I recently had to take my K900 to the dealership because the radio and phone system just cut off and on daily. I dropped my car off and went to work. An hour or so later they call me and tell me they cannot work on it because it is a K900 and only certain dealerships can work on them, which the closest one is Schaumberg or Elmhurst, IL. This is 3 hours away from me!!! I have to drive 3 hours away, wait and drive 3 hours back - this is ridiculous!!! What if they cant fix it there? I made a trip for nothing... I am so upset by this, you cannot believe. They should have told me before I bought this car and I would never went through all this mess.
My daughter was in an accident 2/6/2013. She was hit on the front driver side twice. The airbags did not deploy. I bought my car in 2010 and I havent had any problems with it. I want to know why the bags did not deploy? Is there any recourse? Do you sue the Kia Motor Dealers? As of right now, I dont know if my car is totaled or not. What do you do when the car you are driving does not operate properly? My daughter is 8 1/2 months pregnant. This could have been really serious for her. She was hurt on her left side only where she was wearing her seat belt.
I am so disgusted with the language in your commercial on American Idol. I hope someone in your company goes to jail. How do you think I or anyone watching would feel if Ford Chevy or Toyota, Coke, etc., used language such as that used in your commercial last night. Which so called genius, I wanted to use a worse word, decided to use one of the most profane word sets in the English language as a descriptor of your product. I would have considered a Kia as our next car. As of right now, I would never enter one of your showrooms. You owe America and me an apology. What a shame. You are better than that.
Small compact, good on gas, runs and drives great. Would purchase again and would recommend to anyone else to buy. Great sales man. Explained the whole car and left no stone unturned. Its a third row seating but still small, gets great gas mileage and runs smoothly. All around great car. Good business. However, I wish it was cheaper on price, have an extended warranty to longer than twelve months and better service plan.
My Kia Soul shifts out of gear and randomly does not start. It makes a buzzing sound at times, too. The Kia has been towed 4 times in 1 year. They suggested that maybe I dont know how to start my car properly (which includes 4 different tow truck drivers that dont know how to start it either!), but Im thinking that thats probably not the problem. Its been in the service shop approx. 15 times since I bought it brand new in September of 2011. Has anyone else had these issues? Fed up in Florida.
I bought a car at Car Pros Kia. They never notified me that the car had a recall until I went for my first inspection after 3 months!!! I found out that the car that I bought was a DEMO and they never told me that. They sold it as a new car. I was so stressed out that I did not even see the miles that the car had on until the next day. I took a picture of it -- 75 miles that I did not drive!!! They wrote on my contract 8 miles!!! I trusted them and they took advantage of me. The warranty that I bought was supposed to take care of everything as the lady said from top to bottom, everything and anything and it is not true. My 3rd inspection, I will have to pay more than $400. On top of everything, they are rude. No courtesy at all. I called a sales manager called Rodrigo and he kept repeating that he was busy just because I said that I need to talk to him and he hang up on me!!! The only person that has my respect over there is the driver that took me to IKEA. Getting an attorney!
I purchased a new 2011 Sorento against my better judgment, knowing a first year production is always problem prone. But I have had purchased many Hyundais in the past, and was used to great service, and knowing its the same company, I expected the same quality (WRONG). Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ has the most lying area manager and service department in the nation. They charge repairs to Kia, that they never repair, or even look at. Case at point: Ive had a bad door rattle in the passenger side door since purchase. Ive had the vehicle in for service for 5 times and the repair was charged but never done. The last time, I placed tape under the door to know rather, or not the door panel was opened. And guess what the service manager stated? The door was repaired but the tape was never touched. Enough said. Never, ever, again, would I ever purchase another Kia. My door still annoying like a rattle snake. But how does Kia allow itself to be continued to be ripped off. I would like to still have my door repaired, only 40,000 miles.
We bought our Kia Rio 4 years ago and is now on its 20k km. We have never had a major problem with the car. Its got enough power and speed when driving along an incline. Every 6 months, we see to it that we visit the service center and have it checked. When you look at it from the outside, it seems that its small and not spacious at all but when you are inside, the knee clearance is about 3/4 foot and could accommodate 4 people at the back sitting comfortably. On the other hand, I noticed that there are times when you press the gas, the car doesnt respond instantaneously (there is a split-second lag) or does not respond at all. So what I normally do is I press the break until the rpm gauge drops then I start from first gear and work my way up the next gear. Last night while cruising, there was a moment that I couldnt go to the next gear so I had to put the car on neutral, then drive mode, then it responded as it should. I hope that this is just normal to automatic transmission cars and doesnt become worse if ever this really is a problem. Ive seen on the road a new Kia Grand Carnival and it looks awesome. Im wondering how much it costs.
For two days my new vehicle with only 23000 miles was having trouble starting. The second day was a Saturday. Since this happened to me after 5pm on a Saturday there was no one at the service department. I spoke with an operator who had NO IDEA how to help me or who to direct me to. Frustrated, she directed me the 24 hour road side assistance. I called them and they too were unhelpful. They told me the only thing they could do was tow my vehicle. I said, My vehicle is running at the moment, so where would you tow it to? I asked if road side assistance could come check my battery and was told NO, the ONLY thing they can do is tow your vehicle. Since that would be of no help, I drove to an auto zone. Within 2 minutes a representative from their store was helping me and CHECKED THE BATTERY, which was DEAD. Having no choice but to replace the battery AND no assistance from ANYONE AT KIA, I had to purchase one from AUTO ZONE. Once home, I learned the battery is covered under warranty. Auto Zone would not take the battery back as it had already been put in. I was told that you might be willing to offer the customer service I did not receive in the beginning by refunding the money I spend on a battery. I called my customer service representative and he told me his hands were tied. What kind of service is this? Does KIA care more about $119 than customer service?!? I bought a KIA thinking that the customer service and vehicle would be better than those I have had in the past. So far, I am not thrilled with my purchase.
Car caught on fire from the rear. Fire department called to location of the car fire. Indianapolis police officer left my daughter on 465 to walk home to Carmel.
I need my rotors resurfaced before I even need brakes at 20,000 miles. I went all the way up the ladder with Kia and they keep coming back with The warranty was only for 12k miles. The car should not have a problem with rotors already. Their reasoning is I could have driven through puddles which cooled down the rotors so then they heat back up and cause problems. And a bunch of other lousy excuses. Luckily, this 38k car is a lease and goes back in six months.
We have been trying to return a leased vehicle since December! We have had the run around for months. And its still not complete. Every time I call I get transferred and left on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes before talking to someone long enough to be transferred again only to be hung up on in the end. They told us that the final bill was in the mail about a month ago. We kept getting calls that we were past due (several a day). When I called the lease end again (after several transfers) I was told to disregard the calls and that our final bill was in the mail and would arrive in 1-2 weeks. We continued to receive phone calls about missing payments. My husband ended up calling and after 2 hours of transfers he finally was told that they wont process it until the vehicle is resold? What? At no point did anyone ever mention this tidbit of info. I am disappointed because I loved my Kia, but now because of this experience I will never deal with Kia anything again!
I will start off with what everyone is thinking when reading these... Yes, I am only writing this because I am angry and if my experience was just normal I would probably not write anything, but they earned this. I am currently going through the passing of my mom and all the challenges that come with it. I returned her leased car 2 months early, even though she has multiple letters offering her deals to bring her car back early because it is in demand. Then I receive the bill in the mail weeks later advising she owes $950 for returning the car early and $65 for wear and tear which just seems made up. I attempted to discuss with them, but they said they would not talk to me if I am not on the account. I got the email to send the proof of what happened and sent in what was necessary. I sent it 3 times without any action. I called and finally got the one helpful person to help me with submitting these documents. A few days later I got a letter saying sorry for my loss and asking me what I plan on doing with the car. How is this not a joke? They had the car for over a month. I submitted a complaint to Kia America and after passing the 48 hour waiting period, I heard nothing. I just submitted an updated complaint as I just got another letter in the mail for my mom, thanking her for returning her car and another bill, as if they never interacted with me before. I guess they are playing ignorant to get to the strategy of what one of their workers said, Why dont you just ignore it for 120 days and then it will just go to collections. Thank you Kia, thank you for absolutely no help and adding more stress to the most stressful and sad time of my life.
I was driving in my 2012 Kia Sorento on a beautiful 60 degree last month (November) and my sunroof suddenly exploded. It sounded like someone had shot at me. The glass shattered and fell all over me. Luckily there were no other cars around and I remained calm as possible. I had glass all over me. I had large pieces to tiny shards of glasses in my lap and all over the car. I drove the car to the dealership to find out I was the third one in the last couple of months this has happened to. Upon doing some research on the Internet, this is becoming a Huge concern with 2012-13 Kia Sorentos. This has happened to several people. The dealership had my car for about 3 weeks. Kia did fix it at no cost to me. However, I am very lucky I was not hurt or even dead. This is a problem that needs to be investigated so someone does not get hurt.
2013 Optima EX - Purchased this car in November of 12. I had it serviced at every 5,000 miles, and got all the way up to 32,000 where it had died 2 times before and restarted, but not this time. The motor is locked up, and needs to be replaced. Had it taken to a Kia dealership, and the hum hawing has begun. Much doubt has already been exhibited by the dealership in replacing the motor under the warranty. When we purchased this car, the dealer gave us a 20 year 200,000 mile warranty. Looks to me like it was worth the time to drive off the lot and then it was over, expired, worthless. I hope someone somewhere can make this right.
I am so disgusted with the service and attention, and lack of knowledge, from the Kia Esserman, in Doral Florida. My vehicle went in for service and came out with the AM radio not working. After many trips to get this corrected, and after a rude service rep, Freddie, continues to work on the problem the car has more issues than before. I bought this car for my husband, who is disabled, and I have had nothing but problems. When they want to sell you a vehicle you get tons of calls, when there is a problem you are ignored. This is my 3rd Kia and my last. Someone call me. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau, and to the ADA for not having consideration of a disabled man.
Kia Motor Finance (KMF) says for its leases, the consumer must contact them to tell them how to allocate a payment. My payment was late, the statement reflected principle, taxes, the late fee and a total. I paid the total as per the statement, but KMF allocated everything to the principle and taxes only. This occurred over a number of months. Now I am told that the late fees were never paid. If the statement says to pay the total amount due, why would I think I need to call within 24 hours of the payment and tell them to allocate to principle, tax and late fees. My calls remain unanswered. I have been bounced around between collections and customer services. In addition, KMF explained that when I paid to get my car back, the repo fee was applied to my principle. KMF reversed it but put my account in to delinquency. I am being held accountable for their incompetency, lack of transparency, fraudulent and abusive use of statements that are not honored. Why would the consumer know that KMF requires allocation instructions. It is not written on the lease, no addendum received stating this is the policy, and nothing on the statement that says for your late payment to be processed please call us. Why wouldnt a consumer believe the breakdown on the statement is the exact way the payment would be processed. This is mind boggling and I refuse to believe that I am the only person this is happening to. This becomes very scary that a corporation takes your payment, implies via a statement of what the payment is consisted of but applies it in a different manner. The Consumer should be Informed of this practice.
The car drives good. It has been a pleasure to drive the Kia. I love how spacious it is, it gets good gas mileage on the road. My car is gold. I bought the car used. It was a good price for it. Its a Kia Sorento LX 2008. It only had 79 thousand miles on it when I bought it.
I purchased a used 2016 Kia Sorento fully loaded SXL (Highest trim, original MSRP of $43,000) for $27,000 + TAX/FEE with just under 40,000 miles on it in 2017. I had the car shipped to me from Gary Rome KIA in ENFIELD, CT (Never do business with this dealership. They are dishonest). I live in TN and they shipped the car down to me after a brief negotiation of price over the phone. From the moment the car was delivered to me I had several issues that the KIA dealership that sold me the car should have taken care of. 1. The panoramic moonroof was sticking and wouldnt close properly. 2. The car had tires on it OLDER THAN THE SUV ITSELF! 3. The tailgate was sticking and not opening properly.4. The keyless entry and automatic tailgate opening both did not work properly (Less than 60% success on keyless entry, 90%+ failure on tailgate feature). 5. The car was delivered with only ONE key fob (Promised two, never made good on it. Thats $200). 6. The exhaust system on the SUV had a catastrophic failure resulting in complete loss of engine power and leaving me without a car for over a week while car was at local dealer being repaired under warranty. All these issues in a $40k SUV that was under 40k miles and about a year old.Despite all these issues, the warranty covered fixing the exhaust (Melted catalytic converter), fixing the moonroof (Lubrication added and hardware adjustments), and a temporary fix on the tailgate sticking (Anti-Stick coating applied. Didnt help for long. Problem returned within a month). The dealer never acknowledged the keyless entry had any issue telling me I had to physically remove the key from my pocket for it to work properly. This defeats the entire purpose of KEYLESS entry. This is 100% unacceptable and they know it. Despite all these issues upfront, I enjoyed the value of the features in the car and wanted to keep it. I kept it for about year and traded it in 2018 for a Lexus (Ive never had a single poor experience with Lexus. They are worth every extra penny and their keyless entry JUST WORK!).For those considering buying a KIA here are some PROS and CONS based from my experiences with the product and company. PROS. 1. They honored warranty work. Never cost me anything other than inconvenience and time. 2. Cars come with high end features for less cost. 3. Buying a used KIA is very attractive from a price/value perspective. 4. Quality of KIA has improved dramatically over the years.CONS. 1. Car had tons of issues, some of which like the keyless entry that KIA refused to acknowledge were issues. 2. KIA vehicles DEPRECIATE LIKE A LEAD BALLOON. NEVER buy a brand new KIA. Youll get taken to the cleaners on your trade or when you decide to sell. Even if you buy used, the trade/value of their vehicles are TERRIBLE! Having owned the 2016 KIA Sorento for about a year and getting the mileage up to 60k miles, I was offered anywhere from 20-22k in trade AT A KIA DEALERSHIP! A Ford dealer offered me $23.8k. I paid $27k. Car dropped between 3.2-7k in value in 20k miles/1 year. Seriously? Even the KIA dealerships dont want their product back. Very disappointed in value retention of product. Some dealerships didnt even want to offer anything because of the KIA name. Maybe I just got unlucky and was delivered a LEMON. However I dont give KIA a pass for this since I purchased a practically brand new car from THEIR FRANCHISED DEALERSHIP and was delivered an absolute piece of garbage. I purchase a new 1-3 year old used car (Normally off lease) about every 1-3 years. I favor high end luxury cars in the price range of $30-40k. There are three car manufacturers I will never buy from again. BMW (These cars are fun to drive but absolutely trash and maintenance and repairs will eat you alive). KIA (These cars on the surface appear to be great values but you get what you pay for). Mitsubishi (My first car was a Galant. Head gasket blew up at 60k miles. Car was babied and I expected to get many more years of life out of it. This happened when I was just out of college.) Congratulations KIA. You made the list. Ill never buy your brand again because of the terrible experience and product you delivered.
The headlamp developed a crack internally. No mark on the outside, Kia claims it must have been hit. There is no way, no mark of any kind on clear globe, no way to break from inside out. Their service has been terrible, they are rude, they have been called with questions, and pictures for two and a half months. They wont send anyone to look at it, and they offer nothing. I will never buy their product and I caution anyone else. Inside is plastic and falls apart.
After years of spending thousands of dollars on my vehicle, I spent another 1200, and the vehicle would only run for 5 days. I tried to get them to fix it and they wanted thousands more! I offered to have them exchange it for a new one and they scheduled an appointment which I was ignored for 3 hours. They just want money so I called the corporate office and a man at escalations screamed at me hurting my ears. Issue not resolved and my car is sitting at my apartments. Extremely poor customer service!!! I went to Honda! Anyone want my poor Kia?
I purchase a 2016 Kia Sorento. Ever since day one I have safety recall issues which none of the Kia dealerships can fix it, GAS PEDAL, AIR CONDITION, BACK DOOR, SEAT BELT, BRAKES etc. I have contact Kia corporation, they are a JOKE. They never return calls so now Im doing everything I can to let all know how this crocks operate. They just sell you the vehicle and just deal with the problems yourself. I have report them to the BBB, Department of Justice and DMV, investigators do all the same together, will make a difference. Lets all report this crooks to all this departments to put them out of business.
I leased a 2019 Stinger GT after turning in my Optima a year early. I leased the car on 12/18/18. Within the first 30 days my rear defroster made a popping noise and shorted out. I took it back to the dealership and they supposedly fixed the issue. On May 14th on my way into work the car made the same noise. I called the dealership to have it looked at again. I got into my car after work, within a few minutes I could smell smoke and pulled over on the side of the highway. I opened the hatchback to see the rear defroster compartment melted away and then flames shot out of the hole. Within 4 minutes the car burned down to the frame. A formal investigation was completed with my insurance company, Kia, and the NHTSA.Kia accepted responsibility for the fire. They bought the car back from the insurance to hide a fatal flaw in the car. After weeks of failing to return numerous calls and emails to Kia attempting to understand what the next steps are, we finally received a call stating that they were willing to reimburse us for the contents in the car- WHICH THEY HAVE to do. After several more phone calls and emails, a supposed manager named Jeff **. contacted us (of course they have no email address, last name or phone number). After going back and forth he offered to refund us the $2000 we put down on the car only 5 months earlier stating it was the cost of ownership! After asking we found out that if we accepted, we would have signed off our rights to any future actions. The fire department told me the only thing that saved my life was that I can a full tank of gas so it did not blow cause of the lack of fumes. I was minutes away from picking my 6 year old daughter from school. The fire started right under where her booster seat was. Do not buy this car as it can easily kill you.
I spent days at the dealer working with a salesman. I called later on the last night and said I would I would take the car and be in morning to make the purchase. I went and got my bank loan approved and in order to be prepared. He called me and said to come later in afternoon because they were sending him to pick up a car; however, my car was getting serviced and detailed and would be ready for me when he gets back, so there was no need to come down now since he was being sent out of shop for a few hours. I said I can come in right now to take care of my end of paperwork since you just opened. He said later about 3 or 4 would work better, “Don’t worry I have your car being prepped for you and it will be definitely be ready for you and you can take it home right away.” I called a few times while he was taking care of his business and left messages at shop throughout the day. Then I get a phone call at 8:30 pm after I did all my end of paperwork and loan papers and get the loan for this same day purchase that says another salesman sold the car from under him while he was out doing business for the shop. Now the car isn’t there and I was never notified till 8:30 in the evening hours later from the morning I was supposed to get the car. Now the car is not there and I have my loan done—no car and no remorse, or compensation for their wrongdoings. My time and money I put into this by driving back and forth, doing the loans and insurance, research, credit checks and so much more to list right now. They should make good on another car in a big way and fast since I took off of work and holiday to make this transaction. That is not at all good customer satisfaction at all! What will they do to compensate me? And get me in the car, I want today! I have no car as of tomorrow and I am very unhappy with the Kia service and customer satisfaction attempt at this point. Who knows, maybe they will change their ways and surprise me with a make good offer.
I arrived to Kia at 8 am on Saturday 2-18/17 because my car was making noises when I pressed on the brakes. After 2 hours the rep came to the waiting room to speak to another customer and when finished he yelled across the room at me maam your car probably needs brakes then walked off...duh. I told them that when I got there. After another 30 min the same guy came to me stating my car needed brakes and they dont have them and it will be a few days before they can get them. My options are 1. drive away and come back in a few days to have my brakes changed and try not to drive too much because if additional parts go bad I will have to pay a lot more and they may not have all the parts...they really told me that. 2. Pay for a rental car until the parts come in and they can get replaced. They refused to get me a liner at no fee. 3. They could order some brakes from the auto parts store nearby and use them, but they may be noisy and not last. Wtf. I drive a Kia Sorento 2014, I come to KIA to get KIA parts. This is the first and last time I come here. So horrible.
I purchased a brand new 2019 KIA Sportage two days ago. Its the first time I drove it today. It popped up a warning message (with yellow light) after one mile of driving, saying Low Tire Pressure. I called the road service to check it up. Based on the User Manual, the tire pressure should be around 35 in cold weather. But for my car, three tires were around 30 and one was 27. I am just wondering: Do they really check up everything and make sure it meets all the criteria before they deliver it to the customers??? Well, this is just the first day. The service guy inflated the tires. I will keep an eye on it in the following days to see whether its the problem that they didnt inflate it enough before delivering or the tires are really bad and they deflate gradually. Anyway, my first day of driving a brand new car, was ruined.
The 2011 Kia Forte ran great for 50K miles. Then, I guess I hit a rock - thats what the dealer told me - that apparently damaged the transmission fluid line underneath the car. They fixed it and told me the transmission was fine. So 1,250 miles later, the tranny locks up in 4th gear. Now, Kia is telling me that I should call my insurance company to take care of this. I told them, “No way. You guys told me it was fine. Now, you want to backtrack and blame the so-called accident.” Now, they’re saying if their metal in the bottom of the filter, then its on me. I dont think so.
I loved my vehicle when I bought her, she was pre-owned but very well looked after, one of the reasons why I bought her. A couple of months after buying the vehicle, one of my tenants, who I did not know worked for a Kia dealership, came over to me and asked if she could give me a piece of good advice. Sure, I said, always open to good advice. Little did I know that the advice she gave me would turn out to be the best advice I never took. She told me to sell the Kia Sorento because it was going to give me endless trouble. Since she told me I have replaced a gear box oil seal, cylinder head gasket, radiator water bottle (took Kia month and a half to get me a replacement water bottle), 2 radiator water hoses, radiator, crankshaft pulley bolt, and most recently a thermostat, where again Kia took 6 weeks to find me a spare. Like I said, I love the vehicle, but I will never buy another Kia as long as I live.
When they sell the car they boast a 7 year warranty. When the customer finds faults they refuse to fix the part. My speedo is inaccurate by 10%. I approached both National Capital Motors (The dealer) and Kia (the manufacturer) and both refused to replace or repair the inaccurate speedo.
If you get a traffic violation from and camera- beware. KIA will get the notice and will hold it for weeks, then will pay it for you with all the added penalties and then charge. I had several violations because of a bad transponder. If KIA would have just sent me the notice I could have easily taken care of it for $2 or $4. Instead they withheld the notices, paid it after 6 weeks of when it was issued, sent me the bill to pay them and threatened my immaculate credit when I objected. Filed a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which was a waste of time. Will never deal with KIA in any capacity ever again. Even the owner of the dealership said they were jerks to deal with!
Bought a used 2010 Kia Rondo Jan. 2015. We are a much older couple & do little mileage. A few months after buying car various lites kept burning. Brought to local garage. Was told take to Kia dealership, an electrical problem. Changed lite, burnt again, along with complete dashboard. Back to Kia, this time supposedly the hitch that was problem. Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. We firmly believe this was a undisclosed problem when we bought.
I think we have seen enough of the Kia girl. She was cute at the beginning, but enough is enough. She has a Billy Mays irritating voice. She still is cute but lets scale back on the advertisements or get another spokesperson.
It started on Wednesday Sept 3, 2014, my Kia was lacking its get up and go. I called the dealership and told them that my car was running rough and had a hard time starting but no warning lights. They were able to see me the following Monday. According to the diagnostic test nothing was wrong but that the oil was in rough shape. I told them keep looking. After further review they determined that the fuel pump was bad. They replaced it and I picked it up on Wednesday. I only drove about 2 miles and could tell that the car was still not running right. I called the shop when I got home but they were already closed for the day so I called right away Thursday morning. They got me in right away and called me about 4 hours later letting me know that the Turbo was burnt out and that I needed to show proof of oil changes since I purchased the car (2 1/2 years ago!). I am still fighting this, I cant find all my receipts. I may find myself stuck with a car that only has 38K miles and a payment but not a car that can be driven. What kind of company is Kia? Neither the engine or oil light NEVER came on ---EVER! Yet if I dont find evidence of enough satisfactory oil changes (they say 8) then the warranty is void!! This is crazy --- does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.
My Name is Freddy. My first time purchasing a car, they act like they doing you a favor and they are your best friend, once they feed you all these lies and you shake the hand and pay you are no longer a priority to KIA. Whoever is not busy will help and they dont know anything because they send a person in training or doesnt know much of the job, I must say but KIA sucks. I will never ever buy a car at KIA. I dont care what lies they sell.I got a brand 2019 kia Sorento in 2020. Due to the snow and ice I hit another car from behind. Now State Farm is another problem. They sent a towing company to pick up my car so now I want my car fixed so another towing company picks up my car from the first towing company and they delivered my car to the body shop at night when its closed. Now they called me at 8pm. I have your car. The bodyshop is closed. What would you like me to do with your car, uh hello I dont work for state farm or kia. So it took a month for me to get my lease car to a body shop. State farm has paid $1000 for my rental. Thats great. I thought the car would be fixed by then.We are in MARCH 23. My car is not fix. I am paying out of pocket for a Hertz rental $28 a day. KIA can not do anything for me. Its not my car. Its a lease. Its KIAs car. Im using it for 3 years. The car accident happen FEBRUARY 6. Here we are and still I dont have my car. I am 6ft 200 pds driving a Chevy spark, cheapest car they had, I work every day. I live pay check to paycheck. I work at a church and I cant get no help from no one because everyone wants money that i dont have.....KIA KARMA is around the corner.
To get a $500.00 rebate, I finance my 2014 Kia Soul (!) with the whole shebang through Kia Finance. 1st invoice came and showed the payoff amount. Sent them a check. Within a couple of weeks, got the pink slip in the mail. Then a week or so later, a check came in the mail as the payoff amount was over what was on the invoice. Very happy with their honesty. Had a Hyundai before and their manufacturer was great standing behind their product beyond 5 years... Never had a repair bill, just basic maintenance.
Rattle from under dashboard from new, told at 1500 service plastic settling in. Told at 15000 service not covered by warranty as it was due to plastic dash etc and classed as normal. 27000 rattle driving me mad, again not covered by warranty. Spoke to RACQ, they felt it was definitely a warranty problem. Contacted Kia Sydney, ** promised to ring back. Still waiting, contacted Kia in Korea no response. Service manager from Kia service in Bundamba Ipswich contacted me saying they will have a look at the car, but will take a WEEK to check it out and no promises it will be covered by warranty.
We are writing this because of an incident that we had on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Valencia, CA Kia dealership (a.k.a. CA superstores KIA). During our visit, weve had a very difficult situation and inappropriate matter with one of the sales managers, Raldo **. At the beginning of purchase transaction (after weve mentioned about the final quote that the dealership agreed on), Raldo ** started yelling with anger and stomped out on us. Offensively, he doubted us about the price that the dealership gave us. This made us very uncomfortable and it was extremely rude behavior. We couldnt find any reasons of Raldo **s attitude. Weve never had such an unpleasant experience and being insulted before.Later, he came back and weve tried to tell him that we didnt appreciate his demeanor. However, he totally ignored us and walked away again for the second time without any apologies. It seems like his main focus was on something else, not selling a car. Weve requested his business card, but he refused to give it out and told us that he doesnt have it. Therefore, we are doubting his qualification as a sales manager. Absolutely, we found zero customer skills and business ethic from this person. We werent expecting a top service, but at least he didnt need to be rude. Based on todays bad experience, we believed that we are not the first and only customer who have received this type of treatment. Weve lost our time and effort.Unfortunately, we could not purchase the vehicle because of the above incident with Raldo **. We are very disappointed and will not recommend to any friends and/or family members about this Kia dealership and his service. Finally, we strongly not recommend this person to any future Kia customers.
I purchase a New Kia Sorento from Kia Destination in Feb, 2014, I wanted fog lights put on it and at that time I thought I get a car starter and wait until the weather got better before putting them in. As I was told it would be no problem putting them in BUT they didnt tell me I had to change the wiring Harness because it was not wired for fog lights and would cost a great deal of money. I called Kia Corporation because Kia sales Employee Misrepresented me and Kia. And they should be responsible for the sales person action. Went back to Kia they said they could not do anything for me. I have 2 kia and I will never go back unless they make good on their Employees Misrepresentation..
2012 Kia Sedona (purchased new). We locked the cargo door of the van and the lock will not release for us to open it. The front window wiper on the passenger side stopped working.
Kia has a great warranty. I am 6 ft 4 in tall and can wear a hat while driving it. It is not great on comfort, but for the price is one great value; I think it is the best car for those who need dependable transportation for a value. Retired folks, because it is easy to get into and back out of. Most cars you either slide down into them or climb up to get in.
Too many mechanical problems: lights turn on by themselves, tires losing air, tire was plugged and said I had it plugged when it was the same tire from when I got the car new off the lot. Swift gear broke and I was told it was a sticky substance inside of it. Now headlights stop working out of nowhere.
My drivers seat keeps breaking where plastic surrounds power area. Kia will not help me. They say its an outside influence. What do I do after 5 times since 2013?
My 2016 Kia Sorento seized on 8/16/19... stopped in the middle of the highway. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Did some investigating and it was out of oil. Just had it changed on 6/7/19. Dealership is refusing to honor the lifetime warranty. Again, no lights, no warning, no nothing. 5.5 quarts of oil went somewhere in two months. Or at least thats what was SUPPOSED to be in there. There are several class action lawsuits pending as well regarding this issue & similar things. Dont be fooled.
I have a 4.5yo Sorento that had the engine fail on the freeway. After $440 to get it towed to Lakeside Kia we have been told the car isnt there, it is there, it was the turbo charger, it was the piston, it is under warranty, it is still be assessed we can get a replacement car. We can not get a replacement car. In the meantime it has been 3 weeks and no one is giving a straight answer or saying when it will be fixed. The warranty is rubbish. Never buy a Kia.
2013 Kia Sorento - We got stuck in the middle of the road. While driving, the car shut down completely. When you try to restart the car, it does not restart. You need to wait for five minutes before it can restart. It happened three times in the last four months. I took it to the dealer and they told us they cant do anything about it because they cant duplicate the problem. Also, they mentioned that the computer is not registering any faults. Their solution was to drive the car and when it happens again, have to tow it to the nearest dealer. If you survive getting stuck in the interstate, you may able to have to tow.
I leased a new Kia at the end of April this year on a referral from my parents who had just purchased a new Kia from what was Metro Kia at the time. I was told that since I was putting more of a down payment than I wanted and paying more per month than I wanted that not only would the lay payments be taken care of on my old car, but that the end of lease fees on my previous car would be taken care of. Skip to beginning of November and Chase is sending me a bill for $5000. I started texting with someone who is at what is now Matthews Kia who said she would have to pass info to the managers. 3 weeks later I find out that none of the payments were taken care of. Not only that but nothing was ever written down about taking care of the other fees but they didn’t see anything about making the last payments. I had 3 payments left and Matthews only took care of 2 because that’s all Metro had written down which they found on the original paperwork that had been filed away. Matthews legally did what they needed to but they should have honored what I was told. I have a text message from a Kia employee saying that Metro did this to lots of people. I don’t understand how Kia as a company can screw people over so bad. They are a bunch of mismanaged shady idiots who take people’s money and don’t care what happens. Between their shady business dealings and Chase’s idiot people I am now stuck with a $5000 bill and ruined credit because the payments were not taken care of 9 months ago. When I contacted corporate all they said was since it is a franchise they have absolute no impact on what they do and they don’t care and will do nothing to rectify the situation. What kind of business doesn’t regulate their franchises? I will never buy another Kia and I promise that my family and friends will not either. I will tell everyone who will listen including news/media outlets about your shady dealings. I can’t imagine the recurring revenue they are losing from all these people that got screwed over is worth the little bit of money they would pay out to make things right with their customers. DO NOT TRUST THEM AND DO NOT BUY A KIA.
Kia Optima Hybrid Engine - We were driving home from something on Mothers Day and the car made a loud sound and the engine stopped running. It threw a rod and ruined the engine. Kia now is saying that this is not covered under warranty because the car had the wrong oil filter and was not getting adequate oil in the engine. Havoline says that this is not the case and that it is the proper filter. In addition, even if there were an issue with the filter clogging, it would bypass the filter and oil would still flow. I have done nothing wrong but now I am in a fight. It looks like Kia is trying to just make an excuse instead of actually honoring their warranty responsibility.
I purchased a new Kia Rio 2012 on March 7, 2012. The AC was not working after 2 months. To get an appointment, I waited for 10 days. After repairing, they have not rectified the complaints, so they checked again. I found AC compressor complaints and they told me to wait for 15 to 20 days to get the parts. This is too bad. What should I do for this? I’m 20 or 30 days without a car.
The gas tank leaks. Kia had a recall but they will only fix it if the leak is on the very bottom. I was told mine is leaking at the side seam. The tank is rusted bad, it shouldnt matter where it is leaking. It is dangerous and should be fixed.
This is the first time that I ever wished I could give a car company negative stars. Dont buy a Kia. As I was dealing with my issue at the dealership, an employee came by and asked what was wrong. He ended it by saying Service department always having issues. After what I experienced, not surprising at all. I had visited this dealership before for mileage maintenance and experienced great service. Boy was I in for a surprise on this visit. Making an extremely long story short -- I brought my car in for a rattling noise. The service manager, MICHAEL, had the tech address everything but the issue I brought the car in for. They kept the car a day and a half yet spent only two hours trying to figure out the rattling noise. And what was their diagnosis? They were unable to figure out the problem ON THEIR OWN VEHICLE. Their solution? That I get body work done on a non-impact scratch that occurred AFTER the noise started and then they could take another look at it. What?! I told him over and over that the scratch occurred way after the noise started. He maintained his stance. He stated that it was Kias rule that they couldnt do any further diagnostics on the issue until I got the body work done. He was completely combative and dismissive. I asked for another manager. CONSTANTINE came out and essentially performed as Michaels puppet, backing up every ridiculous thing he said. I left there having paid for a tire rotation that I didnt need and didnt ask for just to get out of there. After talking with a friend who is a former Kia sales manager at another dealership, I confirmed that what Michael told me was complete BS and that they just didnt want to take the time to deal with the problem. Nice. I have taken several steps to have these issues addressed before leaving this review. I called into corporate consumer customer service and opened a case with a MASIELA. I was promised a call back within two days. That was over 2 weeks ago. I followed up and have been ignored. I contacted Kia Consumer Care on Twitter and was promised a follow-up. I have also been ignored there as well. In the interim, I got all the work done on my car that was needed EXCEPT the body work and wouldnt you know --- the noise is GONE. Isnt that rich? I have come to the conclusion that Kia is who we thought they were and will be getting rid of this car the moment it is paid off.
2012 Kia Sorento - My parents bought the Kia brand new. The drivers side seat adjustment contraption has broken twice now! They did replace it the first time for free, but Im not so sure about this time. There needs to be something other than a piece of plastic holding that contraption in place.
Bought the car online. Flew into the Salt Lake UTAH Jerry Seiner KIA to pick it up. No test drive no vehicle inspection just buy and drive! Got home opened the hood to find significant body damage repair! Called no help. Showed me a forged document of acceptance! Police notified! Beware!
Kias customer service department is the absolute WORST customer service department that I have ever dealt with in my 52 years of living. I paid my car off more than 6 months ago and I have called at least 12 times in the past 4 months seeking assistance but, I have been unable to obtain my title. Every time that you call them, there is a new excuse. First, it was lost in the mail. So, I asked them to provide a duplicate. The next 10 calls I was promised something by mail. Here I am 4+ months later and I have still not received anything from them. Im at my wits end. Do yourself a favor and NEVER deal with this lousy company. If they gave me my next car for free, I would actually tell them to keep it. Thats how angry I am. Im going to call a local TV station in NY and ask them to help me rectify the situation by getting them involved and embarrassing KIA in front of thousands of their viewers. Im not going to get mad, Im going to get even. MORAL OF THE STORY: DO NOT BUY A KIA.
Purchased a 2014 Kia Sorento in May 2013 and due to a storm it was immediately unable to be driven. This is when I found out that there are no parts in the US to repair the vehicle. They said it is made in the US but all the parts are in Korea...figure that one out. Calls to KIA corporate are not returned. KIAs website will not let you complete their form and submit it as I tried from 3 different computers. If you are considering a Korean vehicle, think again.
After driving a Kia Rondo for over 100,000 miles, Ive had no mechanical issues and feel I should have!
I purchased a Kia Optima in 2016. It constantly had issues. The main one being that the air conditioner did not work although I took it to the dealer four times! I purchased the car on a cool October day. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the air was not cooling. It would only blow the temperature outside. Late March rolls around and I discover the issue. The first time I took it to the dealer, they added freon and sent it right back out. Thirty minutes later, the A/C was not working again. I called and was told that it must have been the transmission temperature sensor. I took it to another dealer and they said theres no way it would be that. The second dealer got it to work for maybe two days and then it was out again. Took it back to them, then it worked for like a week. When I took it back the third time they said It must be the whole AC control on the dashboard. The representative told me the KIA dealership in GA had to call KIA in California, and they told them to try that, but they were stumped on what the issue was. That was going to be another $500 on top of the other repairs I had already paid for. I took it to a private mechanic who specializes in wiring/computers of cars. He got the A/C working for about two months - lasted through the end of summer. Spring rolls around the following year... same AC issue. With all of the money Ive pumped into getting the air fixed... I essentially went without air conditioning in THE SOUTH... ATLANTA, GA from the time I purchased the car in 2016 to 2021. Also, the engine light was always on because of a faulty wire or sensor. In GA you have to get an emissions test to renew your tag. For some reason every time my tag was up for renewal... the engine light would come on shortly before. I will never buy a KIA again.
I own a 2008 KIA Rondo, the bearing in the crank went. I am 15,000 over the warranty limit, and 8 months past warranty. Bought it brand new. KIA Canada says simply too bad your warranty is up. They also said that it was an engine fail but does not consider this to be a safety issue so will not do a courtesy warranty to help me either. Which KIA says they have done in the past, I say **. I have driven KIAs for 10 years, exchanged last one before 5-year warranty, but was assured that engine would have failed as well. Taking peoples money on a product you dont stand behind is unfair. Now you offer 10-yr warranty. That tells me you may have known your engines were crap and now they may have improved. What about taking care of your old customers who bought your garbage first. I still owe money on a car that is useless. There are many of other people out there like me and I will find them and get the word out.
The dealership is great. The staff is great. But the car is a piece of junk. The air-condition is stuck and is blowing hot air. KIA told me that it would cost over $400 dollars to repair. I took it to another dealer and they said that it was the air-condition trip switch under the gas. Now, it is stuck and hot air blows constantly. I cant believe KIA South would rip me off like that. I trusted them. I am hurt and upset.
Disappointed customer. I thought I was making a smart choice when I bought my used 2011 Kia Sorrento (Liberty Ford) boy was I wrong. The reason for the purchase I needed a reliable car as I drive 500 miles a week from home to work and with Kia having a 10 year 100k mile warranty and the car only having 70k miles on was to me at the time a no brainer. I had the car a little over a year and the engine went. I did purchase the extended warranty from Liberty but because it was a Kia they could not work on it and sent it to Bedford Kia for inspection. After numerous phone calls and even an in-person visit, they had my car for 52 days before it was fixed and returned to me. They put in a new/used engine that had at the time 65k miles on it so I thought once again I was in good shape, well I was wrong again. This engine lasted 11 months and 22k miles and because I was over the miles, I was told in not so many words - sucks to be you right now, you will have to foot this bill. I also want to note this engine quit on me as I was slowing down for an accident that was on the freeway. I was going about 60mph at the time, tapped the brakes to slow down and the engine quit. I had to limp the car from the high speed lane to the berm with no power, it was a very dangerous situation at the time. I am just trying to understand as a customer that had 2 bad engines where the accountability as a manufacturer is? I do understand warranties but all I was looking for was someone to say we understand and give me some kind of help. I wasn’t looking for Kia to pay the entire bill but 2 engine failures engines that only made it to around 80k that were not my fault some help would have been nice. All toll right now I have around $6.200 invested back in a car I only paid $7,400 for. As a single father of 6 working 2 jobs this was a bill I did not need. With all this being said I would like to thank my mechanic at Done-Rite Auto who treated me as a person first and a customer second by cutting his price on labor and parts and had the car fixed in 3 days as opposed to the 52 it took Kia to fix it.
I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento 22 months ago. Driving a few days ago, the vehicle started making a very old noise, then a huge bang. Stop and the car hasnt moved since. No check engine light... no low oil like... no indication that anything was going wrong. I kept all maintenance and upkeep records. I had a log on the oil changes since my dad did them regularly. The engine locked up, Kia wants 6,500 dollars to replace. I purchased the extended warranty, the warranty company will not honor since the oil changes were not performed at a shop. Im on a very difficult place being I still owe on car and dont have 6500 dollars laying around to buy another motor... this is a known problem and they are doing nothing to fix it!! I have the warranty and they refuse to cover since my dad did the oil changes. They told me they dont have proof my dad actually physically put the oil in my car so they refuse to approve the repairs!!! This warranty coverage was not cheap either. I dont know what to do, Im a single mom, no reliable transportation to work now. Dont buy a Kia!!!
In August of 2012, it will be 2 years that I have owned my 2011 KIA Sorento. I bought the vehicle brand new. 3 weeks ago (at 30K miles), my 4 tires had steel threads poking out and the tires were very thin. The Sorento was also pulling to the right, very bad. I contacted the dealership, telling them that their manufacturers tires were bad and demanded they replace them and fix my alignment. Kia told me that it could have done 12 months prior, but that I am out of luck now and have to pay over $200 to get it fixed right. So, I went to another big time vehicle mechanic. They did my alignment and they also mentioned that the camber bolts needed to be replaced/fixed, but that would have to be something KIA needs to do. This place did do my alignment, after I forked over a thousand dollars for 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire Co. So, Kia Corporate Service told me to bring the vehicle in for a checkup after I told them what the other mechanic told me. After Kia was done, they hit me with a charge for another alignment! I explained to the guy that we had told him from the beginning that we had an alignment done and that we did not authorize this. Then, Kia told me that the camber bolts were installed backwards and the mechanic had to fix that too. I told the guy, How could that be? The other mechanic never even touched the bolts. After I was forced to pay in order to be able to drive it off, the Sorento went back to pulling off to the right again. So, back I went to the dealership today. I took this Kia service guy for a test drive in my Sorento. This guy said that driving down our bad city roads just makes it seems like our vehicle is pulling off to the right. That there are a lot of bumps in our city roads. The service guy said they will take another look at our Sorento, even though as he said, There is nothing wrong with it. Kia also refuses to give me my money back for the other alignment that was done, which the vehicle did not need. While there, I met another customer who had just gone through the same, exact thing we are now going through. She has hired an attorney and gave me the name of her attorney.
I went to South Shore Kia on 2/3/18 after waiting over a week for an appointment. My driver’s side indicator stays lit even when the car is turned off. I got there and I had to sign for a 169.99 diagnostic fee. I asked about my warranty and the service employee said they have to look it up. At this time no one told me the warranty expired less than 1 month ago. I get a call 3 hrs later stating they have to charge me another diagnostic fee which would be 169.99 because they were not certain of what was wrong. Four hours later when I did not get a call I called in to ask what had happened and they stated they would get back to me. Another hour goes by and I receive a call that they fixed the harness in my Sorento but it didnt fix the issue, then proceeded to explain what I needed. I immediately called my husband who went down to the dealership. Like magic when he asked to see the part they fixed and why they were charging 2 diagnostic fees and 169.99 an hour YES an hour, the bill amazingly shrunk from almost 1400.00 to 185.00. If I would have went down there they would have taken 1400 dollars from me because I didnt know about cars. My Sorento is still not fixed as I now have to pay out of pocket for everything as my warranty is up. And as per Jacob at Kia Consumer Affairs I was told when I bought the vehicle when the warranty would end and they do not have to send me any notification. They do not have to respond to my complaint but it will be addressed, somehow. So I have to fix my car which I had for less than 2 years with NO WARRANTY. Also Kia Sorentos do not have fuses so something as simple as a headlight or indicator that needs to be fixed cost over 800 dollars as I need a body control module (computer) to work headlights. I may not fix cars but how is this affordable for anyone? I believe this is the only car made this way. Are we still in the 50s and 60s. When will companies be penalized for this type of behavior? I am appalled and saddened that I have to include a man in my affairs because I am not equal. And for headquarters each Kia is a independent franchise so they are not responsible for the dealerships behavior.
We leased at 2015 Kia cadenza about a month ago. We then tried to adjust the mirror and it didnt work or go back into position. We got it replaced and got it back the wrong color and with scratches all over it and a chip in the bumper and hood. Now we have to have a second mirror ordered and painted and put on. We have had it for a month!
I will NEVER EVER buy a KIA Optima or any KIA. First it has a bad AIR CONDITIONER, now my engine is BLOWN. Warranty does not cover it. I bought a 2014, last year although I did oil changes engine started to let out BLACK SMOKE. Took it to KIA, they said I never did an oil change even though I showed them Oil Change receipt. They took the engine apart and said we needed a new engine. So the car is sitting outside my house with no ENGINE. It sort of an advertisement that KIAs are NO GOOD, NO GOOD. My other car has almost 160,000 miles, no engine problem. I had 2 Toyotas, they ran over 200,000 miles - never had engine problem.
My Kia has just over 7,000 miles and the last 4 months I have been plagued by the car not starting. Dealer diagnosis is always good. Finally they thought it was a battery cable. Car ran fine for 2 months, now back to same problem. If I just the dead car, it will run fine for about 2 weeks, then it dies again. No one can figure this out. Kia should take responsibility for this vehicles problems but I find no one cares and Im stuck with a relatively new car, low miles and chronic starting problems. Is there anything Consumer Affairs can do to help?
My Kia Sorento was almost 5yrs. I did lots of highway run so it had miles beyond 100,000 thousand, but this vehicle was maintained as recommended and only by the dealer from which it was purchased. Driving along and without any warning it just blew up. Towed it to the dealer and of course they don’t know what could have caused it. I Googled and found out that others have problems with these vehicles. I contacted Kia Motors and a lady by the name of Heather told me theres an investigation into these vehicles and my vehicle was one of them. She said not to worry I’ll be given a loaner and my vehicle will be fixed and someone will get back to me.To date no one from Kia Motors has gotten back to me. A message was left on my phone by Kevin, and I returned his call 4 times leaving messages twice to no avail. It was someone from my dealership called to say my vehicle was not included so Kia was not responsible. In trying to see if my insurance would cover this I paid said dealer to strip the engine and they said the third cylinder blew through the engine block. (approx. a $7,000 fix) The insurance personnel took a look and said it’s a mechanical problem they will not cover.GUESS WHO IS LEFT HOLDING THE BAG? Me the consumer! I will give a 2 star because I seem to have gotten way better service from the vehicle than most of the others that I have read, but I still think Kia is lacking towards their customers. It cannot be right for big companies to be getting away with doing things like this to poor consumers.
I have a 2018 Kia, Sorento. I have been trying to get blind spot mirrors since the the day I purchase it in Nov. 2017. After being told by the dealers salesman, then parts department (Napelton Kia in Elgin, IL.,) I contacted KIA online. I had a chat with Alexis (Friday 6/29/18 at 5:14 CDT). When asked why I couldnt look up parts for my 2018 KIA Sorento, she replied that the parts department had not update (sp) them yet. I should contact their parts specialist sometime MON-FRI from 6:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M. PST. When I said that not having someone to answer parts questions all the time was archaic, the conversational attitude changed. I told her that I had purchased 2 new KIAs this year for cash, her reply was We do not accept cash, sir. You must be confusing us with the dealer. Of course I was talking about the dealer! I cant buy from the manufacturer! That doesnt change the fact that I spent over $40,000 with this company. All I got was the corporate run-around from them. Very disappointed and wish I had bought the Subarus I had been looking at.
The doors have been stuck open several times, which really sort of puts a damper on long trips. It is a severe safety issue. I have manual doors, and we have it towed when this happens. But they insist there was no latch issue, even though weve had multiple failings. (Our neighbor with power doors has had them open sporadically while traveling 70 mph with kids in the back!)Further, I have to change the headlights (both, and both high/low beams) quarterly, because the alternator doesnt regulate the voltage well and you can actually see the lights getting brighter/dimmer. They blow out fast, and I have been stopped by police no less than six times (three with fix-it tickets where I have to take it back in the next day and show them its been fixed).I also had to pay for new power steering hoses because of squeaking. Fairly costly. The latest is my breaks slip regularly, and ABS is not covered under not a warranty repair. Why brag up ABS if the brakes dont work at all? ?
Well in May 2014 I purchased a brand new 2014 KIA Soul (27 miles) from KIA ALOHA AUTO GROUP. Also invested in their so called exterior/interior SIMONIZ glass coat protection plan that was an additional $995. So long story short it was in the evening that I took possession of my brand new 2014 KIA SOUL. All was great. I really didnt check out the exterior assuming it was a brand new 2014 vehicle. All should be good. Well upon waking the next morning getting ready to take the keikis for a cruise in our new ride of course kids are out before me and my oldest son comes inside and tells me Nice ride, mom. But is it brand new? I said Yes, you no see the paper plates? He said I do. Thats why Im asking how come get all kind surface scratches and all swirls/spider webs around the whole vehicle? So I came out and yes all kinds of surface scratches and swirls throughout the entire vehicle. So I said Well we will stop by the car lot on our way out. So we did. Manager there was so sarcastic and no customer service skills. Anyways when he came out he said Well whats wrong? I said Can you take a look at the entire exterior and tell me whats wrong? He looked and had no problems so I had to point out the swirls and scratches. He said Well did you purchase the Simoniz protection plan? I said yes, he said Then no worries. That will take everything out. Dummy me was satisfied with that answer until we were cruising and I said Wait a minute so if I never take the Simoniz plan and pay extra $995 then what? Thats the kind of exterior I going be dealing with? Hmmmmm. So I waited for appointment to do my Simoniz protection. Got the vehicle back, looked great but in 2 days swirls were back and scratches were back. So again I call manager I take vehicle to their service dept and then am told by the manager that because the vehicle is black thats normal for black vehicles. LOL are you serious? Now I brought it back to you the day after and you told me the Simoniz that I purchased would take care of it and now you telling me 2 months later that thats part of owning a black vehicle. The upkeep is hard and its normal BS... So I call ** on July 2, 2014 and another idiot on the other end, Tyrone **, been leaving him voice mails 4 times in July, spoke to him once in Sept, left several messages in early Sept throughout Oct and finally 10/27/14 he tells me he spoke to manager at car lot and he says nothing wrong but agrees that there is spider webs throughout the entire exterior of the vehicle. Anyone with similar problems can you please contact me at **. If you have a solution or have someone I can talk to for some assistance on getting the dealer to provide some kind of solution. I am thinking of taking vehicle to maybe a detail shop to see what they say. I did take it to Maaco here in Aiea but he couldnt help me said I should take it to a detail shop unless I wanted him to repaint my car then he could help me. He couldnt even tell me that thats not a common thing for brand new black vehicles.
I took my Soul to Kia due to a screeching noise in the front while braking thinking there may be a stone stuck in the pad. Come to find out the rotors had rusted in the front only to the point that they were pitted. I bought the car a few months prior from an independent dealer and the Kia dealer said that the car must have sat for a while but they were not sure. Thus is just conjecture on their part. They said the rotors were not covered because the warranty does not cover rust. They recommended that I call Kia corporate and see if they will make an exception. I called and was treated poorly by Robin, a supervisor, but after an exercise in patience she agreed to escalate the issue to the district service manager. It has been 3 working days and I am still waiting to hear back from them. I had to take it back so they could get pictures of the rotors over the weekend. The funny thing is that rotors on the rear are fine which makes no sense unless poor rotor quality or substandard design with the front brake system. The service department says that the district service manager will likely approve it but it can take another day or two and it will take more time to get the parts in. Meanwhile I am driving a car that the front brakes sound terrible and I feel unsafe driving. Very poor customer service and quality.
