I have been a customer of Hyundai for over 5 years, I recently had a bad oil leak on my IX20 which I had bought from new. They explained that the repair would be done under warranty and that a courtesy car would be provided. Unfortunately thats where the problems started. Hyundai courtesy car insurance only cover people between the age of 21 to 69 so it was suggested that I add the courtesy car to my insurance but when I contacted my insurance company that told me that they could not insure a car that is already insured. My car will take three days to repair. The suggestion given by my insurance company and the Hyundai dealer is that I hire a car to cover the 3 days. It seems Im being penalised for a Hyundai manufacturing failure.

In June we leased a 2017 Tucson Limited. Our current 2015 Sonata Limited lease had 4 months left on the lease but we were fine with paying those months so we could head out on a 3-month road trip in the new Tucson. The dealer told me that when I turned in the 2015 Sonata it would be inspected by their Hyundai turn in person. I made arrangements with the Jim Clicks Hyundai lease turn in specialist who was the Used Car Manager to inspect my car a few days prior to the actual turn-in date. I wanted to make sure there were no issues with the car. I had the pre inspection and he told me it was the cleanest turn-in he had inspected. A few days later I did the actual turn-in and received a turn-in acceptance sheet stating no issues.Hyundai lease told me I would receive a statement in 60 days with the final lease payment charges. When the statement arrived I noticed $115 charged for wear and tear. I called Hyundai Finance and was told one of the tires had less than 4/32 tread remaining and that they needed to buy a tire before they could send the car to auction. This sounds like BS to me. The car had 35K on it at turn-in and the OEM tires should not have been worn out. I was also told that the dealer turn in specialist is not the real inspector and that the car was inspected by a third party company in Phoenix. The reason I had the pre inspection was so I could correct any issues before I had an unanticipated charge. I am paying the statement in full today but this issue has left a sour feeling with us regarding dealing with Hyundai in the future. Our first Hyundai which we still have is a 2006 Sonata and the 2017 Tucson will be our last Hyundai.

I am late in updating this review. The Hyundai dealer found issue with rear coupler on inspection. I had to take the SUV back to the dealer a week later as they had to order the parts. The Correction comment states - Replaced 4WD Coupling Assy - listed at $549.50. It was all covered under warranty so I did not have to pay for anything.

On June 13th, I noticed a rattling when I stepped on the gas of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. By the time I got to my destination, the car was making such a horrible noise; there was no way it could be driven further. I called the Hyundai customer service number to arrange to have the car towed to the dealer and to make sure my warranty would cover the issue. I was assured that I was still covered under the 10 year 10,000 mile warranty. The following morning, the tow truck arrived and took the car to the dealer. Later that day, the dealer called me to inform me that I would need a new engine and that my warranty would not cover it. The engine would be a used one with 71,000 miles on it and would cost $5600 not including labor. Of course, I immediately called Hyundai and was told that I was misinformed the previous day and that I did not have the 100,000 mile warranty because I was the second owner. They assured me that they would cover the tow and the diagnostic charge but they would not cover a new engine. The reason I bought the car and not the Nissan Altima, which is a much nicer vehicle, was for the exceptional Hyundai warranty. I spent the next few hours on the phone with quite a few rude customer service representatives before I reached a supervisor. I stated my issue for the umpteenth time and he once again told me that despite the fact that the car is only four years old, it is not their problem as the warranty is up. So basically, Hyundai is saying that it is acceptable for a four-year old car to have a blown engine and too bad for me. I am a single mother who has recently been unemployed and I am still paying for this car. Suffice it to say that I will never buy another Hyundai again and I will certainly let everyone I know what my experience has been.

While returning from destination 50 miles from home, we stopped to take a break. My wife noticed that the rear bumper had detached from the right side of the car. I was unable to snap it back in and forced to drive back with it detached. Because of the wind caused from driving, the bumper (made of rubber) tore even more.I brought the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited into the Hyundai dealer in La Quinta. They examined it and took photos, Their position was that it was caused by an outside force and refused to cover it under warranty, I escalated to the Hyundai Southern Regional office. After several days, they contacted me and agreed with the dealer. This is BS because the only damage they saw on the bumper was some missing paint on the underside. I checked it out and there was no paint missing, the surface was smooth, not rough as it would be if it was scraped. The paint was missing because it was not completely painted underneath. I extremely disappointed and would never buy a Hyundai again, I think they are cheaply made. The exterior dents with even a minor bump from a parked car door.

I purchased a brand new 2015 Hyundai Genesis on Dec 5 2015 and began having problems almost immediately with check engine light flashing and the car not starting and locking up on me? I traded my 2014 Kia Cadenza in on this car with 14,000 miles on it and only had to change the oil 2 times with NO problems! I took my car in for service and had the electrical harness replaced 2 times and ECM replaced but the same problem with the electronics persisted after 7 times in for service in 5 months. I resorted to the Lemon Law in Nj in April 2016 with 2500+ miles on my Genesis. Still making payments and full coverage insurance on my car. Finally I was given a court date in May 22 2017 but a week before Hyundai Motors of America (HMA) made an offer thru my Lemon Law attorney to buy the car back and I just wanted to get this mess resolved because the car has been in the shop since May 5 2017 and the Tech havent found the problem yet?Today is August 10 2017 and my nightmare continues. I dont have the settlement I was promised by HMA yet. NO car. The dealer took the loaner back after several weeks and the Lemon Law attorney has been telling me the settlement checks have been ordered but I am STILL making car payments and FULL coverage on a car that I cant drive and NOBODY is looking out for my interests the attorney seems to work for HMA instead of me? This has been the worst summer of my life! NEVER again HMA!

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Im persistent with maintenance and was relocating from Wisconsin to Nevada for work, thinking my car only has 40,000 miles so it shouldn’t have any major problems on the way there. Well, get 1000 miles away to Tulsa and the engine completely blew. I was stuck there for 9 days which caused my boyfriend and I to dwindle our savings by $1200 to cover my hotel and food cost. The repair was covered under warranty because there was absolutely no sludge in the engine when it was taken apart and turns out there were several recall parts IN THE ENGINE that needed to be replaced. Well, we finally make it to Las Vegas and I try to file a trip interruption claim and the people at Hyundai told me what to fax to them...so I did and spent $12.00 at UPS to do so. I waited a week and get a call saying that I have to MAIL my documents to the roadside people first before Hyundai will consider the charges. Welp, did that and 2 weeks later, I call roadside and they tell me it takes SEVEN WEEKS TO REVIEW and they can’t see anything in the system until it’s finished being reviewed. So I finally give them the 7 weeks and call in, still not in the system so I was given a fax # to send everything in. 2 weeks later, they approved 300$ because thats their max allowable and Id need to go through Hyundai for the remainder. So... I call Hyundai since they have ALL the documents I sent previously. The girl I talked to assured me it should only take 3 days because I had my case reviewed previously and they just needed the response from roadside to approve it. So... I wait the 3 days, call back and the reviewer still hasn’t even touched my account. 2 weeks and 3 messages to the examiner later - still nothing. So I’m told itll be escalated to his manager and I’ll hear back within a day. Did I? Nope. Talked to a rep this morning who discussed my account with his lead and they both agreed its inexcusable for the examiner to be avoiding my case all together. I will NEVER buy another Hyundai again... my parents and sister both just recently went car shopping and were both considering Hyundais until I went through this...so they just lost 2 customers. Im at my very last straw with them. Theres no reason my engine should have blown at 40,000 miles now theyre just evading paying me back the money that is owed to me.

I am not going to give my full name via an email message due to security reasons. I will note, however, that when I sent messages to finance online, both my name and my account number where showing as if attached to the email and I repeatedly received what appeared to be canned responses asking me to give my full name, via my email. I find this unsettling - as if finance is deliberately delaying or avoiding addressing issues and/or questions from its customers that take their time to write them. I further question the point of sending finance emails... It is neither helpful or gives me any confidence that my needs are being addressed expeditiously or that I am cared for as a customer that pays on time and cares about ones credit.Last month, I not only wrote finance multiple times, but I also went to the dealership and spoke to the finance department. The department kindly explained to me what their limitations are with regards to what my concerns were at that time (Hyundai received three payments in January via Wells Fargo and I wanted my account reimbursed for the overpayment) and I ended up having to sit in someones office, just to call finance outside of the state to try to resolve the issue. Given Wells Fargos recent debacle, I dont know who is at fault but I made every effort to make sure that finance received its correct payment up to and including an attempt to pay in - person and in cash. All that I asked yesterday (literally two weeks after supposedly getting the initial problem resolved) is that finance justifies a $47.67 request for payment this month included with my monthly car payment (which also increased) so that I can determine what to do. Finance wrote me back. They obviously have my email information. They referred to me by my first name and know my account number. My account information was attached to my email. I do not understand why I am having such a difficult time paying finance my correct auto payment since the new year. I had a Hyundai for over 10 years prior to the one I lease now and it was paid off before I got rear-ended and ended up having to lease another one.I never had any issues at all period with my payments or with the previous (paid off) vehicle and now, all of a sudden, after the new year I find myself with a car that I have to keep bringing in for the same repair and issues with making a simple car payment. I am frustrated and think it is ridiculous that I have to jump through so many hoops just to make a simple, correct auto payment. I also find it insulting. I do not understand what the problem actually is - Is it the online system? Is it that finance does not permit the dealership where customers purchase their vehicle to discuss or have access to information once the vehicle drives off the lot? Is it Wells Fargo? I dont know. But I do know that when I triple paid in January and then walked in to finance to pay in cash, I could not do it.And, after repeated efforts to resolve the whole debacle, finance has the audacity to ask me to pay more and has not justified why. This is not the way to handle a long time customer that pays on time. This is the first time I have ever leased a vehicle and this experience is ruining my enjoyment of being a Hyundai car driver and owner. Why would I want to give my full name in an email? Any person with an ounce of common sense would not do that in a Gmail.

Wondering if anyone with a 2012 Hyundai Sonata has noticed a ring around the sunroof on the inside lining? I am afraid it is mold. Dealer said mold wont grow on the liner. Anyone else experiencing this? I have the car in the shop right now awaiting a pressure test that I am being charged for to find if there is a leak. If there is a leak... guess what? It is not covered under warranty. The warranty for the sunroof runs out at 1 year, 12k miles. Nice, huh?

We own a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. We check and change the oil regularly because there are numerous reports of Hyundai engine failure and seized Hyundai engines, for no known reason. Two weeks ago the Sonata engine seized. The dealer in York PA claims it had no oil however, my wife had topped it off 7-10 days earlier. Then my son checked the oil 3 days before the Sonata engine seized. It had oil.Do not buy a 2011 Sonata or any year Sonata. Google engine problems Hyundai Sonata. There are literally thousands of reported Hyundai engine failure. And there is a class action lawsuit. In addition it is a cheaply made vehicle. The fans squeak, the seats squeak, the Torque steer is outrageous; the Sonata has the worst torque steer of any front wheel car Ive driven. Weve had to invest over $5500 in this cheap car over the past few months. The used Sonata engine cost $3,100 and the York PA dealer gave us exactly 3 months or 3000 miles warranty. I will post my receipts in a few days. Stay away from Hyundai and do not buy a Sonata.

Elantra 2015 - Starting at 3000km uncontrollably bouncing at highway speeds, trying to drive me into the ditch. Dealer in Belleville, Ontario, Canada said never heard of the issue. Google proved him wrong and when I took the printed proof was told it the USA assembled cars with the problem. I persisted and got new balance, then new heavier rears shocks, more balance and new specialized balance and at 12,000km a mechanic finally determined it was a problem with the Continental brand tires on the Hyundai (I was one of thousands who had already complained). Finally got new set of Continentals to replace original. Perhaps the service department cant balance tires but the problem still remains (although a bit milder). No resolution yet!!!

Hyundai Genesis 2015 went dead on road only 1.5 years old. Had to get it towed to Napleton Hyundai Northlake. They had to replace computer. Then it happened again a week later. Then they had to replace the fuel pump module. Now the car vibrates when sitting still. The seats and the steering wheel constantly shaking. Napleton says it is because the engine is running and thats just the way the car is. Either Hyundai Genesis is a very bad car or Napleton Hyundai is totally incompetent, or possibly both. I would stay away from both! On top of that, I cant get rid of the car because they say the current value is less than the end of lease value which is still over a year away. They want me to pay 100% of the remaining payments to the end of lease if I trade it in and buy a new one. Worst dealer service I have ever had.

I had a 2006 Azera that I drove for 147k Miles. It was a near perfect ownership experience. So I purchased a 2011 Genesis 3.8. Its been very disappointing to say the least. What made it disappointing is Hyundais degrading their warranty so that not a single malfunction has been covered by their warranty. I now had 51k miles on the Genesis. This is what had not been covered by their warranty. Navigation does not boot up ~30% of the time, moisture inside rear tail light, wind noise from passenger rear door from day 1, windshield wipers have no intermittent, phone bluetooth cuts out. Wheels peeling clear coat from day one. Dead front strut. So I would recommend avoiding Hyundai. I feel like a chump from driving one. Plus, the ride is rough and too much road noise for this class of car. Avoid!

I had purchased a Hyundai Veracruz from Hyundai Juma Al Majid showroom on 2
I had purchased a Hyundai Veracruz from Hyundai Juma Al Majid showroom on 27th April, 2011. The vehicle is under warranty for a period of 5 years and extended warranty for 2 years. Ever since I purchased my car, there is vibration in the steering wheel and the same has not been resolved till date in spite of continuous follow-up. I had noticed on the very second day that there was some problem with the steering. It was vibrating a lot even at a speed of 60 km/hour and I reported this to Hyundai immediately. I was asked to inform the service advisor about this issue during the first 1000 km service. I had made the complaint during the first service in May 2011 (3 weeks from the date of purchase). But even after the servicing was completed (mentioning everything is done), the vibration was still there. I had again reported this and was asked to keep the car in the workshop for further checking. They had done a test drive and agreed that there was vibration. After checking, I was told that there was an issue with the tire and that it would be replaced as the car was under warranty. The report was made by the workshop engineer and after some testing, the car was returned to me in the same old condition as the issue was not resolved.Subsequently, I have placed my car with the workshop about six times for several days together (more than a week in some cases) for servicing, but the problem has not been resolved. The last time I placed my car with the workshop, I was told that all five tires have been changed and the problem has been resolved. But the problem exists at speed of over 120 km/hour. Later, I have been told that one of the tires had not been changed. I have discussed the issue with several people in the workshop, showroom and customer service in several times, but I have not received satisfactory response. I am still clueless as to what the problem with my car is and whether my service advisors are aware of what the problem relates to, as they have not been able to identify and fix the problem for the past 9 months or give me a timeline to fix the issue. I am very much disappointed with the kind of service I receive and I can make out the difference between the service provided before and after the sale. If the problem is with the tire, why is it taking such a long time to replace it with good tires? If the problem is not with tires, it has to be identified or the vehicle has to be replaced. In all this trial and error game, it’s the customer who is suffering after having spent so much money on the vehicle. This has caused a lot of mental pressure and waste of time and money.

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT new, and have driven it for four years, putting about 70K miles on it. Based on my multiple bad experiences with this car, I will never again purchase another Hyundai vehicle. First - as is well known, the true MPG is nowhere near the marketing claims made by Hyundai (and there is an unresolved class action lawsuit underway to address that). Then I had a problem where the rear quarter-panel window trim fell off - fortunately I found a TSB published on the internet about that, so Hyundai fixed it under warranty. If I hadnt researched the problem and printed out the TSB, the dealer would have charged me $$$ for the repair. Then most recently I had a problem where the clutch started chattering/slipping. My mechanic discovered that the transmission input shaft seal was defective/leaking. Even though this is covered by the Hyundai 10 year/100K warranty - Hyundai refused to honor the warranty and pay for the repair. I cant wait to trade in this car, and kiss Hyundai goodbye forever. If you are considering buying a Hyundai vehicle, I would recommend purchasing instead a vehicle with higher quality/reliability and from a manufacturer who stands behind their product and their warranty commitments (think Honda, Toyota, Mazda). And definitely dont count on the Hyundai 10 year/100K warranty actually providing you any protection from product defects.

In August 2015, I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Tucson in 2015. I have had all routine maintenance done and the car has 86,000 miles on it. No mechanic has ever told me of any engine issues or potential engine issues. Two weeks ago, I was driving home at 10:00 PM. Without warning, my engine seized and my car stalled in the middle of a very busy, dangerous intersection. Thanks to the assistance of my father and a good Samaritan, I was able to get my car out of the road and I was able to get safely home. However, this had the potential to be extremely dangerous for myself and other drivers on the road.I took my car to a local Hyundai dealership and I was told by a certified Hyundai mechanic that I would need a new engine. I immediately contacted the Hyundai Customer Care Center and I was told that because I am not the original owner, they will not honor the 10-year/100,000 mile warranty. I was told they might honor the limited warranty, but I would need to come up with records of every oil change I have had on the car. Other than that, they have been of no assistance to me. I am beyond frustrated and furious at this point. This is not an issue of user error, this is clearly a defect on the part of the manufacturer and they should be the ones resolve the problem. I consider myself an informed consumer, and I would not have purchased this car if I had known this was a possibility.

I, myself, own a 2013 Hyundai Elantra that I adore. I used to work for Hyundai, dealing with warranty. My fiance is a Hyundai-certified technician. These cars come with a 5-year/60k miles BASIC warranty. NOT bumper to bumper like many salesmen claim. Batteries are covered 100% for 2 years, and the 3rd year is prorated. Sunroof issues WILL be covered under the 5yr/60k. Tires are not covered, but you have roadside assistance for 5 years, regardless of what you are equipped with to handle flats. My car does not have a spare, I got a flat last month, and they towed me at no charge. No questions asked. If you have a spare, obviously roadside is not needed. But be sure to maintain the spare just as you would other tires. Tires lose air with time. Light bulbs are covered 12 months/12k miles. They are wear and tear as well, so expect to change bulbs once in a while. Maintenance items are not warrantied (tranny flush, brake flush, oil change, etc.). Use Hyundai genuine parts. Trust me. If your engine ends up having issues, and you have an aftermarket oil filter, good luck getting that engine warrantied. I buy Hyundai parts, and follow maintenance schedules exactly how they are written. Most people here would have had a better outcome if they would have educated themselves on the vehicle. Its not hard to do. Im a female, but I know more about cars than most males I know. Dont walk into a dealership with the wool over your eyes. Know your stuff, know the warranty, and know what youre driving. My car is only a year old, with 25k miles, but it has run 100% perfect for me the whole time. I have taken it on long road trips and it handled them with ease. My gas mileage on the highway gets up to 42 mpg! I dont work for Hyundai anymore, so I dont benefit from saying any of this, but I do take pride in these cars. I chose to pursue the medical field again, otherwise I would be a Hyundai employee still. You also have a right to know who works on your car, so ask. My fiance is a master technician with Hyundai, and he treats every car like his own. Go ahead and meet your technician. Discuss your concerns. Trained Hyundai techs will know their stuff and know all of these cars like the back of their hand. Make sure you realize that like every car, they will age and not be perfect anymore 1 day. Cant expect a car with 150,000 miles to run like its new. The 10 year/100k miles warranty is a great incentive to buy these cars, and not many people have to utilize it during those 10 years/100k miles. I would choose Hyundai over Toyota or Honda any day. Read and educate yourselves, people.

I have a 2012 Genesis Coupe 3.8 loaded.. leather interior, etc... The car is only 2.5 years old. The back seat leather started to fade about a year after I bought the car. They agreed to repair the back seats but refuse to repair the front seats. Im the only one in the car 95% of the time. Ive owned many cars with leather interior. Ive NEVER had such experience where the interior quality is so poor that it falls apart on its own. Im so frustrated with them that Im ready to trade the car in and get something else. In early 2012 I leased a Hyundai Santa, in September 2012 the vehicle was involved in an accident and sustained severe front end damage, all air bags deployed etc. The vehicle was towed to a junkyard/auto repair shop. I had full insurance plus gap insurance through Hyundai. My insurance paid out over ten thousand dollars that I sent directly to Hyundai. I constantly contacted Hyundai regarding the status of the vehicle, the account was placed in the recovery department that was handling the gap insurance. In November of 2012, the last correspondence I had with them that I initiated was with that department. At that time I was told the vehicle was covered under the gap insurance, time went by and I never had been contacted by Hyundai, I presumed the vehicle was paid for and everything was done. Until a year later and I applied for credit and was told to my surprise that I had repossession on my credit, prior to this I had excellent credit. I Called Hyundai and was told indeed this vehicle was repossessed, they could not supply me with when it was repossessed from the auto repair shop, when the sale was or if the vehicle was ever repaired. I was never notified of any repossession, never notified of any sale etc. I have on several occasions contacted in writing Hyundai requesting proof of the vehicle being repaired, proof of the vehicle being repossessed and sold. To this day almost three years later, they have not and will not send me any proof of this and this full amount owed is still affecting my credit.

Very angry with Hyundai Motor America. At the end of February my car had a warning light (the only one ever) Hybrid battery low, stop do not drive. After 2 days hunting for a battery, we replaced the battery only for it to be completely dead. Had it towed to the dealership. They run a diagnostic on it and tell me that it needs a power relay assembly kit replaced. Ok, so we have that replaced. The next day I call and they say, Well we replaced it but your engine is locked up! BULLCRAP! I have been going back and forth for over 2 months with Hyundai Motor America only for them not to stand up to their word!HMA called dealership to have them drop the oil pan and look for metal fragments, well guess what? They found metal fragments in my oil pan. Even knowing that these metal fragments are in there they are still denying my claim and refuse to replace my engine. They say my car is not part of the recall, imagine that! Is anyones car actually in the recall... I am so **! They are worthless liars! Would like to have an attorney to contact us all.

My name is Daniel **. I am regretting the choice of buying a vehicle from Hyundai, who claims that they are there to help service the people and help me in general. Unfortunately, Hyundai is providing false information to there clientele. I recently just purchased my 2011 Hyundai Accent. The first week after having bought the car, I had issues. For instance, on the drivers door, there was a light scratch. The tail lights had water leaking inside, creating humidity. And the ignition circle was not firmly adjusted. The servicemen at my Hyundai dealership did fix the scratch without any issue. But they gave me problems towards the tail lights and the ignition key input to start the vehicle. After 6 months of owning the $ 23000 car, which is covered under the Hyundai warranty, I am extremely unsatisfied. Two weeks ago, I brought the Accent to the dealer due to a steering issue i had. They told me the front rim was dented and it was $ 155 to repair it. So, I agreed to this, seeing as it could have been possible as we have terrible roads over here. The following day, the car was making a whistling sound coming from the front tire that they worked on. The day after, I went back and it took them 1 hour an a half to figure out the problem. They charged me $90 without notice or knowledge that I had to pay for them to recheck the car (normally any garage or mechanic will call you first or consult with the client before putting a price to anything). The following week, I noticed a very loud rattling noise while starting the ignition. So as furious as I was, I called the dealership and asked them if they had room to see me. They advised me not till next week. So, I decided to bring the car to another dealer, because it is extremely inconvenient having a brand new car making this noise and causing me so much issues. The service at the new dealership was very kind. I asked if they can take a look at the lights and the rattling sound. They checked it. And then, they called me back a few hours after, saying the tail lights were not screwed in tight, and the metal shield beneath the vehicle wasnt intact enough. They fixed everything and charged me once more $70 without notice! Logically speaking, why would this not be a defect and not under warranty?!I am extremely frustrated. I never loosened anything on my vehicle. This is an issue that came from the manufacturer. This is a product complaint! What I want from you right now is what Hyundai promised me, which is if anything doesnt sound right with the car, you will come in and will examine it for free. Thats why you have a warranty! Where is the promise in that? Does Hyundai just talk strictly out of nowhere just to sell a car and make a couple of bucks commission? I refuse to pay for issues that were caused by bad mechanics from Hyundais part.

My biggest complaint has nothing to do with the vehicle. I love the car I purchased, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited however, it turns out that Hyundai USA is downright incompetent. Be warned, that if you are considering purchasing a Hyundai try giving their customer service line a call to get a feel for what youre in for. Oh, and absolutely positively make sure you get an owners manual!!! Just trust me, when you drive off the lot you are on your own.

I am Neeraj **. On 31st Dec 2018 I purchased a brand new Hyundai Verna car with 3 years of insurance including bumper to bumper insurance. My car number is **. I have purchased this car because of brand name, reliability and trust in Hyundai Cars. Last year on June 2019 I took the insurance claim because I had a minor accident with my car. I immediately sent my car to the Joshi Hyundai Agency (Chandigarh) for repairment. They changed few components i.e. driver side door, One Side mirror and re-painted the bumper (Front) and bonnet. Unfortunately, the vehicle has not been satisfactory because when I reached home, I saw the colour of bonnet and bumper (newly painted) was not matched with the entire car. Further, When I raised the complaint they accept and ask to leave the car for few more days. Though, I rely on my car for daily transportation but I have managed with them. After few days and during my next visit to Hyundai Service Centre for inspect/collect my car, I saw that the same problem was still there “colour mismatching”. I talked to them, but instead of listening and understanding me, they ignored me. That was Such a harassing moment for me. Even they denied for the bill and their comments were “We have solved your problem and there is no need to provide you the final invoice/bill. Please take this gate pass (attached for your ref.)”. After that, somehow I able to connect Company’s Concerned Person Mr. Gaurav ** (RPSH(NRO3)), He saw my car and agreed that yes, the problem is still there in color (i.e. colour mismatch problem). Then he requested me to visit the Mohali Branch Of Joshi Hyundai service centre and asked to leave my car for few days (According to him, there is no technical staff for painting of car at Chandigarh Branch). I have managed third time and left my car in agency in Jan 2020 To get the problem resoved. But, now this time i found several new problems that was unexpected. Instead of changing the colour of bumper and bonnet as required, they also changed the colour (repainted) of the left side back door and running board (left side) without my permission and moreover did not tell me, but was noticed by my own. I believe, prior information is right of customer/owner nowadays and your authorized service centres must be aware about it.Also, they break several locks (Rear Bumper) of my car. This is unbearable for a customer. Your company harrassed me several times along with unsatisfactory services which is against a consumer rights. After that I manage to contact Mr Manoj ** (National Customer Relation Head) over telephonic conversation and requested him to get my car done from some professional service center as Joshi Hyundai staff and Mr. Gaurav ** were unable to satisfied me. He assured me of problem redressal this time and requested personally to leave my car again to Joshi Hyundai Mohali Branch. As I had bad experience with Joshi Hyundai number of times, I requested him (Mr Manoj **) again to get it done from some other service center. But with assurance he requested me again to leave the car, I left my car 4th time at Joshi Hyundai Mohali Branch on 05 May 2020. This time they repainted only running board (left side) and replaced rear bumper (Whose locks were broken by them last time) and refused to repaint the mismatched parts. This was extreme now. Then on complaint, they (Mr Nittin **) have again requested for the car for repainting dated on 21st Jun 2020 but because of the lot of harassment, I did not visit. In last one and half year, I drive my car around 15000 Kms and it seems that this is 8-10 year old vehicle because of this colour issue. Either they don’t have the high quality paint facility or they get it one from 3rd party/vendor. You can see the paint quality and welding spots in attached pictures (for new painted doors).Hyundai is second largest manufacturer in Automobile sector after Maruti Suzuki in India. I have long been a customer of Hyundai Cars and considered that Hyundai is a high quality brand. But, I am damn sure that this kind of attitude/negligence will definitely destroy the biake my car back and refund my valuable money along with interest as I am not willing to regain anymore mental, financial and physical harassment.Neeraj

I purchased Hyundai Elite i20 in CHANDRA HYUNDAI (City - Coimbatore, state - Tamil Nadu country - India) at 27th Oct 2017, Almost 2 years are crossed right now. Current running KM - 9670/- Less kilometer only used. Two weeks back all of a sudden push button stopped working. So I reached out top Chandra Hyundai (Avinashi road branch) for service regarding this issue at 23/12/2019. Almost 13 days are over still I didnt get any clear information about this issue (Initially the team said battery issue, then self start motor may issue and finally ECM). Now they are saying I have to pay 70,000/- (Seventy thousand rupees ) to replace the part to solve this issue. The car even got fully serviced 1 months ago. This is really disappointing experience with Chandra Hyundai. I really disappointed for this issue even 10,000 kilometer not yet crossed but having this issue. I request them to claim but they are not responsible. I wont suggest Hyundai to anyone. Waste of time and money to approach with Hyundai.

We purchased a Hyundai Elantra in 2009 hoping to get at least 100,000 miles value, but to my disappointment the transmission went after 75,000 miles thankfully was still under warranty. 10,000 miles later the motor in the power steering has gone, which when we went to dealer they informed us the 10yr/100,000 mile warranty does not cover this only transmission & engine, so their bumper to bumper warranty is false. Our personal mechanic has informed us that this is happening frequently. Why has there been no safety re-call? Does some tragedy have to occur before this is a safety recall?

Got wheel bearings changed at a local mechanic. The part was under warranty. I filed for warranty, requesting reimbursement for $250. I have been asked to get the proof of work done from a Hyundai dealership, which I am in total agreement with. The dealerships are asking me $400-450 for inspection. I am willing to pay that amount, considering that I would be reimbursed for it all. I repeatedly asked Hyundai customer service, whether I would be reimbursed if the dealership confirms that the repair was done. To which, I am being told that they cannot guarantee. Beyond common sense, how this works.

I took it in for service and at first they told me something went through the front grill and put a hole in the air conditioning condenser. Since there was no evidence of anything flying through the front grill and there was no damage to my radiator the story changed and apparently it ricocheted and caused damage to the condenser.Hyundai deemed it a non-warranty issue. Now I’m going to be charged $800 to fix it. I even took it to a different repair shop to ask their opinion. Those guys said they had no idea how this damage could have been caused without any evidence of any damage to anything else. Hyundai claims to have the best warranty in the industry. In my experience it’s all BS! I think somebody dropped the condenser and installed it anyway so that they could meet their quota. I will never buy another Hyundai again!

The 2006 Hyundai Accent had low maintenance and also the cost for repairs and the upkeep for the vehicle was always very inexpensive. In addition the vehicle had great mileage on gas which helped when gas was $5.00 a gallon. It was also compact in size which made parking easy and had a 4 cylinder engine. There was a brief recall on the car for issues with the back brake light staying on after the car was shut off but the manufacturing department took care of the problem at no cost.

However, I wish there were more seat adjustments, air temperature control, heated seat temperature control, side mirror defrosters, different style of rear wiper so it doesnt get taken off in automatic car wash and heating system that doesnt blow warm air when fan is off. Well I have written many reviews and yet I truly do not think anything has or will change. I could sum up Hyundai quickly or at least the warehouse that ships out their parts for service, Incompetent. I hate using a word like that. See, some people just loosely use this word on companies just to rant but Hyundai is truly not a well oiled machine like the cars that they sell. At least the company doesnt worry about the management, or any sales reps that are selling the vehicles. That company runs entirely on the market pushing for an affordable and reliable vehicles. When it comes back to the human aspect of the company like CUSTOMER SERVICE, out the door it goes. I have had an awful experience with their service and being shipped out wrong parts for the last 8 weeks now. I have yet to see my car and all Hyundai is doing is taking more time to complete a task. The loaner vehicles that they have issued me (now 2) is not what Im paying for nor do I want it. This service dept has had my car in the shop for 8 WEEKS to just replace a motor in a sunroof. Thats it... But now the Gm will not take my calls due to he is ALWAYS too busy and the Sales Manger is so brash and rude to me I feel like he thinks he owns the place the way he talks to me. Just an FYI, If customers dont come and buy the vehicles on the lot, then you dont have a job. I think in the game that you play, you should be more grateful to the customers that provide for you. I would give this company and experience a 0 but it is not an option. I have written so many of these complaints that this one is just a brief summary of the incompetents of this company and truly I cannot waste anymore time on a concrete wall that will not budge. Sorry Hyundai you have taken this route because you use to be on top of your game. I know that I am only one person you have decided to pushed away but we add up quickly and your company depends on us, the consumer. I hope that this message reaches out to the top of wherever it needs to go to and some sort of something happens as oppose to you guys treating me with disrespect. I am only frustrated because you have yet to reach out to me and consult and make better. As a company that deals with a lot of customers I would feel that would be your top priority, not to just sell cars and then leave the customer high and dry. Thanks Hyundai for the experience, you have truly made me very upset and shown me again that dealership as yours just will never get it. Its not about you guys, its always about us... THE CUSTOMER.

I am trying to begin the process of making a lemon law claim on our Santa Fe. I am wondering if anybody else has had problems with the back liftgate automatically closing. We have had it repaired 3 times already, and now after taking it in 6 months ago they have still not been able to get it fixed for what would be the 4th time. I have been hit in the head numerous times, and the other day my son was trapped by the liftgate. Luckily I was there to get it off of him, because it will not stop coming down unless you pull very hard against it and he is 8 and was face down. The dealership is useless, they have been ordering the parts for 6 months. We have called repeatedly and get the same answer. Unfortunately there is not another dealer close enough for us to go to, and they also have told us we have to get it repaired at their dealership. This is a joke, and I was wondering if others have had the same issue. Just trying to get all the evidence I can to try and force a resolution. We basically do not use the back of our car anymore. On March 19, 2014, around 2pm I was driving home from my place of work in Temecula, CA, where my car had been off & parked for at least three hours. I was northbound on Highway 15, between Murrieta Hot Springs and California Oaks Road, in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car seemed to be driving fine until suddenly the car immediately starting smoking from under the hood and as I was pulling over to the side of the freeway, flames emerged. As soon as I pulled over and put the car in park, I hopped out hoping it wouldnt blow up with me inside. Then, after multiple failed attempts to extinguish the fire, it finally went out with the help of a few good Samaritans. Im extremely thankful, my fiancee and baby girl were not in the car with me. According to the incident report, it was the fuel line that had failed. Yet according to the Hyundai reps who have contacted me since towing my car to Hyundai in Temecula, they cannot determine the cause of the fire. Ive done some extensive research on similar occurrences only to find out that there have been multiple unresolved fires in Hyundai Sonatas around the US. After 2 months of a thorough investigation on my vehicle, they sent me a letter stating they had no idea what caused the fire. So, they cannot agree that the fire was caused by the vehicle. Ive found plenty others with the same issue. Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!?

I love the Remote Start feature that Hyundai Blue Link provides. I think its very overpriced. I also dont like that to get the Remote Start that I have to get the other packages which I dont use. It would be nice to just have the Remote Start feature. I also dont like that the max time for the vehicle to be started is only 10 minutes. It would be great for the customer to extend the timer beyond 10 minutes especially living in a cold climate state like I do. When the timer expires for the Remote Start, why dont you receive notification like you do when the vehicle is started. Also, I dont like it that it flashes the parking lights, they should give the option for the customer to turn off that feature or go to a solid parking light if so the customer chooses.I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and received the Remote Start package for a trial period. It was set up by the dealership. I didnt know why they needed my credit card information, I found out why. They auto billed my card after the trial period was over without notifying me. I asked why I wasnt notified and they didnt have an answer. I told them that I only wanted the Remote Start option and they said that I had to get the full package to get the Remote Start. Almost $300. I liked the Remote Start that much that I didnt cancel the service of which the Remote Start is the only thing I use.The next year, I purchased a 2016 Tuscon, same thing with the Elantra happened with the Tuscon. I called Blue Link and asked them to sync my two accounts, the agent told me she had done so. When I tried to start my 2015, the app prompted me to call Blue Link. They told me that the subscription on my Elantra was cancelled. I told them that I had another two months left before renewal, she verified that I was correct. I then asked her why was my service cancelled and she said she didnt know. She got a supervisor involved and he said the same thing.Granted, the 2015 is a Generation 1 vehicle and the 2016 is a Generation 2 vehicle which is two different departments. Why arent they combined, I dont know. I told them to turn on my service for the remaining two months that I have left on my subscription, they said they couldnt do that. They said I had to renew my yearly subscription. I asked them why because my service was not scheduled for renewal for two months and that it wasnt my fault that they screwed up. They said that their computers would not allow them to go in and turn on the service without the renewal of my yearly subscription. Being unsatisfied, I told them to renew my subscription which got prorated to the date that I purchased the vehicle. They told me that for my troubles that they would give me a discount on one of the packages one of my vehicles. They assured me that this mishap would not happen again.Which brings me to this years renewal, the so-called discount wasnt a discount, they extended one of the packages on one of my vehicles which knocked my packages out of sync, again. The sent me an E-mail stating that I would have to pay almost $20 a month for the next two months to aligned the packages. On the day that they were supposed to pull the money from my account, my Remote Start package was cancelled and when I called Blue Link, they said I had insufficient funds. Which I found ridiculous because I verified that I had several thousand dollars on that account. I even signed onto the Blue Link website to verify that the billing information was correct and it was. Besides, they had just taken out $297 from my account for my other vehicles renewal of which I wasnt notified. I asked them why I wasnt notified and again, they said that they didnt know and they were going to pass me onto their website department. They are currently investigating why I wasnt notified, I am not going to hold my breath for a response, lol. The agent asked what would it take for me to be a satisfied customer, I said, Free service, I knew that wouldnt fly. I asked her to turn on the service for the remainder of the two months I have left to sync my accounts, of course, just like the year prior, they said it couldnt be done and that I had to renew my yearly subscription. I didnt. I am so frustrated with Blue Link right now but I love their Remote Start feature. A few years ago, I tried to have Car Toys to put an aftermarket remote start system on my vehicle and they said that because the vehicle has a factory installed remote system on the vehicle that they couldnt do it. This was three years ago. I am going to revisit this option and see if it can be done. With the Remote Start feature I had on my other vehicle, it had way more features than Blue Link has and for cheaper. You figure with as much as they charge for the service that they would be one of the leaders in the game.I gave this review only 2 stars because I love the Remote Start otherwise it would be one star. I dont think Blue Link even cares about their customers, they know we have to use this service if we want it, especially being in a cold climate state. If they were smart, they would find a way to be able to modify the field to change the renewal date to maintain the subscribers they have right now. I will be looking for another car company where I can have more flexibility with this option. So it will be goodbye to Hyundai even though I like their vehicles. My Tucson was the 4th Hyundai I had purchased, yes, this is a deal breaker. If I can find a go around, I will. Thanks, Blue Link. Step up your game.

I have leased two Hyundais in the past 5 years and just paid one off nearly 2 months ago and Hyundai Finance still has not provided the title. I have called over 50 times (if you count all the times I was hung up on due to their hi-tech phone system). The buyer of the car is demanding his title and rightfully so. They keep telling me it is in the mail. They have great cars/SUVs, the worst service ever! I have been lied to every time I call. They said this time the title will arrive on Wed. 12/5/12. They told me yesterday they would give me a tracking # and when I called today, they explained, It was sent out in regular mail, sorry. Its unbelievable.

I just purchased a 2012 Accent. I drive 40 miles to work on the interstate every day. Once I reach 70 mph, my car starts to swerve to the point I almost run into the other lanes. When I try to correct the car, it gets worse. One time, I almost ran a car off the road. Terrified to drive, I took the car into the dealership and was told its my electric power steering. I was told theres nothing they could do to help me. They told me I need to get use to the sensitive steering. Seriously! I was told by the dealership the sensitive steering does not change even at high speeds. If I turn my steering wheel a little bit, my car will go in that direction very fast. This is very dangerous. Hyundai needs to fix this problem before someone gets hurt.

I would like to start out by saying I will NEVER lease a car from Hyundai ever again. My girlfriend and I have had our lease for about 3 months and the customer service has been an absolute nightmare. I have been trying to get paperwork from the company to change my plates from PA to MA and I get a different answer from a representative every single time I call. Not to mention I am on hold for at least an hour and have called about 10 times. I will relay my experience onto anyone I know that is seeking a new car how much of a disappointment Hyundai has been. Its honestly embarrassing how inconsistent a customer service can be. I wish zero stars was an option.

I bought a used Hyundai Sonata 2011 in Oct. 2011. The previous owner had around 25,000 miles on it. I have changed the oil and also the brakes on the car since I have purchased it. It was running well with no problems (no indicator lights or warning lights ever came on), and of course there was no noise, just running as usual. I have put around 16,500 miles on it and no problem. On Dec. 22, 2012, it just wouldnt turn on, so I thought it was my battery. We asked for a boost but it still didnt work. I called Hyundai and stated they would get it towed in. That was on Dec. 24th. The tow company decided to give it a boost first to see if he could get it started but he also said the battery was too drained. I waited for a call from the mechanic and on Dec.26th, I was told he needed my authorization to change out the battery that it was no good. I asked if it was covered under my warranty with Hyundai or even the extended warranty I got. He stated no. So, I said replace it. The following day, I called for my car to get picked up and he states he needed to talk to me and said my car still didnt start and I would need a new engine due to no oil in the engine. He told me that the car looked like it had never been maintained, not once ever. I told him I did, but I didnt have the receipts to prove the oil changes. So he told the Hyundai Company that he denied the coverage due to neglect on the car. And I told him I also have an extended warranty which I told him to call. He didnt. I had too.I called a day later since he never called back to let me know anything. He stated my extended warranty wouldnt cover it either and I asked why. He stated it was because he denied the warranty due to neglect of the car. It’s funny when no lights or noises occurred without any indication that there could be something wrong, and all the extra coverage I got to avoid any problems. He states the problem could as well have been there from the previous owner and my bad luck I got stuck with it.

The main issues I have with the vehicle are fairly minor, although some could potentially be a major issues. When creating a rear deck for transporting items, the rear passenger seats dont fold down perfectly flat. I ended up building my own slide-in deck to compensate for the slightly lifted rear passenger seats. The adaptive cruise control seems a bit laggy adapting, but that is probably why the manual says it cant be trusted if theres a difference in speed between vehicles over 35 mph.I also live in California where motorcycle lane splitting is legal. The problem is it can confuse the adaptive cruise control. Very frequently Ill be going 40 mph (rush hour traffic on a freeway) and a motorcyclist will blast by in between the lanes at 60+ mph. About 50% of the time the cruise control will start tracking the lane-splitting bike and suddenly accelerate, potentially causing my vehicle to smash into the vehicle ahead of it which is only going 40 mph. Fortunately, the cruise control has always been buggy enough so I typically keep it on a short leash anyway, ready to brake. But it is a potentially dangerous annoyance. Im not sure whether its just bad luck, but my Santa Fe has been broken into more in the first year of ownership than in all the other vehicles Ive had since I started driving 40+ years ago. Its probably because its new looking and its an SUV which has no lockable trunk. But here is the problem with the vehicle: In all cases when my vehicle has been broken into, Ive been less than 100 to 50 feet away and heard nothing. In the last instance, I heard glass breaking but no alarm. As far as I can tell the alarm is useless. The blinking light on the dash is just a bad joke. Im definitely looking into some aftermarket alarms now. If there had been an alarm, as it claims to have, then I would have been alerted and been able to stop the burglary. I know this to be true because I stopped a theft on my prior vehicle because its horn went off when the window was broken, and I ran right out and chased off the burglar before he was able to carry off anything. Also, although I know this a problem of all SUVs, it would be nice to have a secure, lockable cargo area. As it is, anyone breaking into the car can easily steal anything as there is no place to hide anything, except the glove compartment. Also, when I see vehicles that have been in rear-end accidents, the vehicle doing the rear-ending usually takes most of the damage, with a crumpled hood and such. When my Hyundai was rear-ended at low speed by a sedan half its size, my SUV somehow got most of the damage. The auto repair shop sent the insurance company a $5000 bill. Which it paid, but still that suggests a fairly serious bumper design issue. Even the first vehicle I owned from 1980, a Toyota Tercel, would have not sustained that much damage if it had been hit similarly in the rear. Of course it also had thick rubber bumpers, but still, this is a $45K vehicle.

DO NOT BUY A PALISADE!!! We’ve had our Palisade for four months. We love the features and ride but had it back to the dealership five times because of excessive winds noise at highway speeds (> 50 mph) noticeable in the front seats. The dealership pressure tested the cabin, replaced door seals, and checked door alignment. Finally, they removed the side view mirrors and determined the whistling sound is wind turbulence from the mirrors after a test drive. The dealership has been great but Hyundai refuses to acknowledge the issue. We opened a case with Hyundai but their case manager said there is no design flaws so there is nothing they can do. I just want a brand new $50K vehicle to act like a $50K vehicle. DO NOT BUY A PALISADE!!!

Drove an hour from my home to Stockbridge, Massachusetts and left my keys on my car seat only to return and found out I was locked out. I called Hyundai roadside service and was told it would be 58 minutes for service to arrive. I waited an hour and called again and the automated response said the driver was 3 minutes away. I waited another 15 minutes and called and got a Hyundai live person and he told me that the service company 911 was 3 minutes away. Here’s where Hyundai roadside service failed. After waiting almost 2 hours I called and they told me that the service company canceled the work order to unlock my car because it was not their area. I was furious at this point and asked what do I do. After another 2 hours I received a call that a roadside assistance vehicle would come from Lenox, Mass. Will be there in approximately 5 hours. At this point I had to call my son to bring me another set of keys. It took him over 3 hours for a round trip run. It was either that or break my window a bill Hyundai. I will reconsider buying another vehicle that claims it offers roadside service.

And I was told that only 65% of the total repair cost will be covered by the Hyundai and remaining 35% has to be paid by me [35% is costing me 3800$]. My question to hyundai is. If theres a manufacturing issue, then its companys responsibility to get it repaired free of cost. Why Im getting charged for it. Nobody is able to give an exact answer for this.

Zero Rating if possible. I dont really know where to begin with this brand and its terrible cars. I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata Turbo in 2013. Ive spent countless hours with my car in the shop over the car sputtering, shaking, cutting off at stop signs. Not to mention the electronics in the car are terrible; Bluetooth doesnt connect half the time for unknown reasons. Theres been at least 4 recalls done since I purchased this car. I had to get a total electrical discharge done to reset the electronics because the car was going haywire. Finally, Im down on Myrtle Beach for vacation and the car totally shuts off. Turns out it was a faulty engine that needed to be replaced. Took 30 days to get the engine sent in from Korea and replaced. Then somehow the rental car that I had racked up an amazing 2400 bill of which Hyundai determined to only pay $400. And then afterward I noticed the car jumping and things shifting and making horrible noises under the hood. Turns out the repairmen didnt screw the transmission mount screws on tight enough both of the bolts had the heads off and the transmission was moving around while I was driving. The dealership told me the car would be fine to drive and so I did until it just became unbearable. Now they want me to fork over another $1700 to replace the entire subframe that they messed up when installing the engine. Hyundai is a horrible company with Horrible cars. I will never purchase another thing from you and your terrible dealerships. Go out of business for the countries sake or leave your terrible cars in Korea.

I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. After the second week, found the passenger outer door handle doesnt work properly. So I called my salesman, made the appointment to bring the car in. While having this problem, the car hobbles every morning. Dealership told me it was the tires, and there is nothing they can do about it. The tires will smooth out in an half a mile. Well this every day thing stinks! On top of it the driver’s seat creaks, and now has somehow gone away, and after waxing it for the first time I find blemishes in the paint. Nothing you can do about it, it will just look worse if you fix it. The biggest problem is the Blue Link telecommunications in the car. It is terrible. It was so poor. I was calling Blue Link every day with issues like, why wont the car start with the phone, why wont it unlock the doors, and the maps they use are google, which are not updated often, so the car has no idea on where to take you. The whole car after one month just feels like Ive owned it for years, like a used car. I will never purchase a Hyundai again. I tried it, not worth it.

We just purchased a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy trim in Sep 21 because we loved that it had everything we were looking for in regards to safety, technology, and design. We paid $45k for it along with about $1,000 in fees and travel to pick it up. We were quite excited as this was our first brand new vehicle. 2 months into it, the transmission went bad and we brought it to Hyundai to find out whats going on as it was under warranty. Heres where things went further south.Hyundai cant get parts to fix their brand new cars...and on top of that, why would a transmission already be bad? It has sat on their lot since Nov 30th, 2021. Last week we just got an offer to buy back the vehicle for more than 4k less than what we just bought it for and drove it for two months. They stated that our state allows for depreciation in Missouri for lemon laws and they cant help us, it is what it is. During this time, cars have gone up because dealers are now charging a mark up fee, so although they can claim depreciation, we cant claim appreciation on the car. So to get the same exact car we just bought, we now will have to pay 4-8k more for equivalent. Its horrible. And just for a buyer beware situation, Hyundai will no longer replace your car with an equivalent one substitution for collateral equity. They stopped replacing them with like cars because theyre manufacturing so few that anything they make has to go to dealers to get top value for them.Point being for this review is that although Hyundai makes a great car much of the time, if you have any problems at all, there are concerns of finding parts for repairs, and if its unrepairable, plan on a huge deduction for a buyback. Good luck out there from a very unhappy customer who just lost 4-8k on a brand new vehicle, and now I have to go find a replacement on my own.

The headliner was damaged during a replacement of the sunglass holder recall. It has never been correct since. At approx. 54k, the engine failed and Hyundai replaced with an inferior short block vs. a long block engine, the rear seal was defective and had to be replaced, the engine protector plate fell off less than two weeks later. I have never felt safe in this car and sure enough 3 days ago, after going over NO huge bumps or hitting any pot holes, I came outside and the first 1.5 inches of the wheel bearing assembly was laying on the ground by the wheel. The tow truck driver said they overtorqued something when they replaced the engine. Not only will I never purchase another Hyundai, but I will recommend no one does either. I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happie
I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happier with the car the first 18 months of ownership. However, in June of 2015, my cars hybrid alert came on when I put the car in park and the car locked up and would not turn back on again. I had to have it towed to Sacramento Hyundai where they kept it for the day, then gave it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Two days later it did this again and again, would not turn on. I had it towed to Roseville Hyundai because this was where the hybrid specialist worked. In the end, I ended up bringing my car to Roseville Hyundai (about 40 minutes from my house) a total of 4 times. Each time they fixed something on the car but the car was never actually fixed and would break down again 1-2 days after I got it back.During this whole time wasting process I was always put in awful stock rental cars after having to wait at numerous car rental shops after I was told by the dealership that there would be a rental waiting for me (there never was). I have had my car sitting at the dealership, untouched for over a week with no contact by the dealer while they decided (or corporate decided) what they wanted to do next. I was told time and time again that this was a one in a million occurrence, that these things NEVER happen with new Sonatas. After doing my own research on other new Hyundai owners experiences, I beg to differ. It seems like these things happen quite often with the newer Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai Motors eventually decided to stop allowing the dealership to spend any more money trying to fix my car (the dealership was not allowed to swap in a new transmission or engine). So they ended up just turning off the alerts - they didnt tell me they did this but it is quite obvious this is what happened since the car is running the exact same, power and acceleration issues, just no more hybrid alerts. Kinda suspicious. So once I got the car back this final time I began dealing with corporate which has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I talked to a live person probably a total of about 4-5 minutes throughout the whole lemon law process that began at the end of August.Leaving a message with Hyundai would result in a call back in 5-7 days. It took the representative over a week just to ASK the dealership for my repair records. And then a couple more weeks before she sent everything in to corporate while I was calling her constantly trying to get updates on the whole process, only to be ignored.. They have a certain number of days that they legally need to respond to lemon law cases and they definitely push this to the very last day. I figured driving a dangerous car that was now having issues getting onto freeways and accelerating from traffic lights would get them to respond to my concerns quicker, but they could have cared less. Once I finally received a letter. I was offered a buyback, not a replacement since this is not required by law.Hyundai only does exactly what is required of them by law (quite often they dont even go this far I have heard) so that they are able to pay as little as possible for the broken car that they sold you. This awful experience that I have been going through should require some sort of human response from the company instead of just 1 actual semi-informative voicemail from the representative (just saying that they would not be giving me a replacement vehicle) and ONE letter from corporate. This letter with the buyback deal had no actual numbers. It just stated that I would be charged some mileage fee for each mile I drove the car (that I had to research myself to figure out since no one from Hyundai actually talked to me). That they would not be reimbursing me for any money that I put into the car... So too bad you loved this car and did everything you could to keep it running properly and looking beautiful... And that I would be charged for any damage to the car. Then they asked me to sign and send it back to complete the process. How do I know what they consider damage and how much theyll charge for it? On top of that, all the extra money I put into the car would be ignored - tinted windows, 4 brand new tires I purchased just a week before all this went down, the $400 maintenance at 35K that Hyundai forces you to do so this warranty can be upheld, etc. On a more personal note Hyundai could care less about the time, energy, and work time lost in this whole process to drive the broken car back and forth to Roseville (when it was driveable) and all the time spent at rental car businesses... The mileage penalty being forced on me causes the $350/month payment to basically go towards borrowing this car for 2 years when I had wrongly assumed that I was in the process of purchasing the car and that my money was going somewhere, and now I am left with nothing. The buyback that Hyundai offered would not even cover my down payment I had made on the car, let alone the monthly payments for the past 2 years. In the end, I would love for this company to just fix my car or give me a car that actually works. My family and I have owned Hyundais for years and have loved the cars and always said nothing but good things about them. But this is our first new Hyundai and we have never had to deal with the actual company until I unfortunately purchased a lemon. The Hyundai corporation is horrid to deal with and does not care about the satisfaction of its loyal customers. I should have researched the reputation of this company before purchasing the car but naively I had faith in Americas Best Warranty to take care of me if anything should go wrong. Reading other peoples reviews on this company and how they have dealt with consumers and their warranty it seems as if this happens quite frequently. Hyundai will do everything in their power to get out of honoring their warranty and if state laws force them to do something, they will be sure to do as little as possible no matter what their loyal customer has gone through. This will definitely be the last Hyundai I ever waste my money on.

Hyundai Azera is a cross between a 4 door sedan and a sports car. 6 cylinder gas engine has plenty of power from 0-60 and fuel mileage is 21-27 mph which is decent economy. It is built solidly and provides a smooth ride even over bad roads. GPS and heated seats are standard. FWD provides solid traction in snow up to 6 inches. Lots of good driver safety features at an affordable price. Hyundai’s 5/60/100K warranty is best in the industry. Blue Link app feature provides remote start, SOS, and other invaluable features at a reasonable yearly cost after the original B to B warranty expires. Hyundai discontinued manufacturing the Azera in 2017. The only drawback is if purchased used, the powertrain warranty is reduced to 60K and prepaid MTCE cannot be purchased unless it is a certified preowned vehicle (CPO).

As a loyal customer of Hyundai Vehicles that currently owns 4 Hyundai Cars I am extremely disappointed in the service received from the service department. My daughter is a college student in the area away from home. When purchasing her vehicle I added all the Hyundai Warranties offered to me in order to secure her safety at all times. Her vehicle was taken in April 2016 for repairs and replacement of a few items. She left there with not 1 item corrected. I called several times and was given several excuses. One weekend in May 2016 I drove 5 hours to address the issue in person. I was told by Curvin (Advisor) and Mike (Manager) that the issue would be resolved. Well June rolled around no action. I called the GM of this location to assist in the matter. Well he never returned my call. The only thing he did was send my message back to the service managerAfter contacting the warranty department myself I learned that Hyundai never requested the approval until June 30, 2016. Well here we are in July 2016. Still waiting on the items to be ordered. This will be my last Hyundai and I would not recommend anyone take their vehicle here. Since they were not making extra money off of me, my daughter service was not a priority at all. In 37 years this is the worst experience I have ever had...

In February, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Ltd. I was looking for an efficient, low MPG car and was pleased to hear that Hyundai offered a car with up to 40 MPGs highway. I dont feel that I do get the best mileage for combined city/highway, but this is not my issue. Last month on September 8, 2011, I hit a pothole. I called AAA and was informed by them that I had to be towed because there was no spare. I was shocked. I had to be towed, waited for the Mobile station to order a tire and was 1 hour late for work. I have found that the Continental, low-profile tires do not stand up to wear and tear, as my 2001 Honda Civic did. I had to change the tire because of a bubble and then had to change the tire because of the pothole. I am upset, not only because of the poor performance of the tires, but the main issue is that Hyundai misrepresents the product by not informing people that they are purchasing a car that does not come with a spare or a donut. They also do not cover towing with their road-side service. If I had not had AAA, I would have had to pay. I ended up with different tire, than the Continentals because they were not available, so I have an odd tire, all because I could not wait to have the car repaired. I called Advantage Hyundai in Bethpage, Long Island and was informed that the Hyundai Elantra no longer comes with a spare and only has a pump with some sort of sealant. They also told me that the spare would cost $380 if I wanted to order it and it was on back-order (could it be that others want a spare as well?).I understand this is a new trend in auto manufacturing (Chevy is doing the same), but my contention is that this should be made aware to the prospective purchaser of the car and told that a spare was an option and that the weight of the tire would bring down the MPGs for the vehicle. I find that this is fraudulent advertising, since the reason they can get up to 40 mpg for the Elantra is because they eliminated the weight of the spare tire. Now, I was lucky. I could have been somewhere up in the mountains, where I had no cell service and needed to change my own tire. What would I have done then? This could be dangerous. I have read articles claiming changing a tire on the road is dangerous, but if you are in the middle of nowhere, then what? I dont think that I should have to pay for a spare. I have contacted the customer service online from Hyundai and have been told that I need to go to my Hyundai dealer to buy a new tire and then they will determine if I should get a credit for it. I find this unacceptable.I have only had this car since February and have a lease for more than two years. I have not saved money on the gas and have spent a lot on tires. I dont want to be towed again. It is upsetting and there is no way I can break my lease. What are my options? I am sure that others have this problem, as well. I have asked people that I have seen in the street if they were informed about the missing spare and they have told me that they did not know that they didnt have one. I really need to resolve this. This is the first year that auto manufacturers are doing this no-spare thing and I think that I had a right to be told. I may not have taken the car and gotten stuck with this lease.

Their response was very cold and promised me to resolve the issue ASAP. Nothing happened for two weeks. Hyundai Canada also refused to give me a rental car as they said it is not a safety issue. But the dealership had taken the roof off and the car was not drivable. After many follow ups over the phone with Hyundai Canada, nothing happened. They continued promises without any outcome. They dealer said they have no control on parts. It took more than four weeks to receive the parts and finally in April they gave the car back to me.After driving for a week the squeaking noise started again. Went to dealership and they said that the mechanic who repaired the roof has gone to his home country and will not be available till the end of April 2015. I called Hyundai Canada and they gave no response. They said that they are sorry but there was no solution to the problem. I requested them to take the car back and give me a new one. They said Hyundai Canada do not have policy to buy back. Followed up with dealer many times with no positive response. In May went back to dealer and they did something to stop the noise. The noise stopped for a week and again started. Now the noise is so annoying that it is hard to concentrate on driving. I feel that I will meet with an accident as my attention is diverted due to noise.I have told Hyundai Canada and dealership that this piece is defective but they are not listening. I called dealership to look into this again and they have told me that they dont have a vehicle to lend and I am in waiting list. I called Hyundai Canada and spoke with Customer Relations and their response is the same as before. They continue to mention that they are sorry and trying to do their best to fix this. I am been trying to resolve this issue since last seven (7) months with no possible resolutions. I strongly feel that I am cheating and robbed. I am paying my car payments very regularly. We are middle class hardworking family and it is hard to meet ends. This is giving us lots of stress and anxiety which we do not want. We bought a brand new car to have peace of mind but this issue has taken all the peace away.I feel that as a consumer I have no rights and my hands are tight as Hyundai Canada and Dealership are playing games. On October 4, 2015 the speedometer blacked out, which is not showing the speed, fuel, fuel consumption, outside temperature, heating/cooling as well as the seat belt warning is showing. I called the dealer and they told me to bring the car on October 7th, 2015. They took the car and when I followed up with them at the end of the day on October 7, 2015, they informed me that the cluster (electronic part) has failed and they do not have the part. They will let me know when they will get it. Also they have taken apart the sunroof and for that they do not have the part. The service manager is telling me on Friday October 8, 2015 they still dont have the part. I followed up again on Friday October 9, 2015 and they didnt receive the part. The manager told me that he has no clue when the parts will come. The status is not showing as backorder as well. The Thanksgiving long weekend passed and I called the dealership on Tuesday October 13, 2015 in the afternoon to inquire for the status. The manager is telling me that they still are not aware of the status of the parts. He said, he will call me when they know the status of the parts, which after probing for many times, he said he cant tell me the exact day when the parts will arrive as the system is not showing anything. Also Hyundai Canada tells me that I am not entitled for a rental car as I have not bought the extended warranty??? The car remains with the dealer with no definite answer (October 19, 2015). Called Hyundai Canada and my calls were transferred to the voicemail for the customer relations. Waiting to hear from them.

Over 30 days my 2014 model i30 with 25.000 km EPS unit couldnt be replaced and its still in the service. I basically cant drive a car which I paid to. Moreover I wouldnt like to discuss about the security issue of this part as I was driving, the wheel went off, wouldnt even turn. Thank god that I was driving in an easy road with a low speed so I had chance to park my car within a safe zone. I even wouldnt like to imagine what would happen if this problem would occur on the highway. Hyundai Turkey is behaving premature to handle the case. In this century I am not able to understand why the required part can not be delivered within 30 days while there are people touring around the world with bicycles or on foot less than 30 days. As a result of all, I dont have any other chances but to go to legal court to claim my rights and never ever touch anything called Hyundai.

On Oct 24th 2018 I activated my Blue Link via a dealer. I was given 3 months test of the system on my 2014 Equus. The next day I tried to use the system but it was not active. I called the service and told me 24 to 48 hours to get to my system. After the 48 hour mark the system still not activated. I called again on the 25th then the 26th still not activated. I was instructed to drive around to see of it would help, but nothing. When I called again on the 27th they apologized for the inconvenience but nothing they could do till a day or more passed. Upon calling on the 28th still not activated. Called again on the 29th and they apologized and gave me an extra month free to try the service. I was told it should be up any time. By end of day on the 29th still not working. On the 30th of Oct, I was told my service could not be started till the previous owner service was deactivated as I was told it was not fully deactivated in their name. They would need to deactivate my account and the original owners account before my service could work. After an hour on the line I was told they would call within 2 hours to let me know it was complete and my service turned on. I called after 3 hours and was told my account was cancelled and would need to be charged 279.00 to turn it on as I cancelled my trial. I was livid as I explained that the tech cancelled my service not me, and I wanted my service trial back because it was never turned on. Going back and forth they told me nothing could be done and we went around for an hour plus. No matter what I told them I would not get my service trial back. They directed me to call another number to complain, when calling the other number was told it was not a complaint line but another Blue Link center. I was lied to and cheated out of my service trial and fully pissed off they did this to me. Ive never been treated so badly by a company in my 50 years of life on this planet. Being lied to, is appalling by anyone. This company could care less about customer service. I was never disrespectful toward anyone on the phone, just in case you wondered. I was upset but not overly. I was so upset and confused by their actions. They never offered me a solution. Horrible in my eyes.

I was in a no-fault accident February 25 2019. I had a small little crack on the driver side of the vehicle which triggered the airbag light to stay on in my vehicle reminder the airbags did not deploy. After waiting two months for the body collision to do the basic repairs my vehicle was sent to two Hyundai dealerships and neither dealership can figure out why the airbag light was still on. I called Hyundai corporate office. They put a hold on my vehicle for two weeks. They didn’t offer a loaner vehicle or a rental for the hassle and stress I been through and just told me to have the service center work on the vehicle. After being there for a month they did not reimburse me and I have a son with a disability and they did not make anything urgent or help my situation. The claim case was missed handled. My son been out of school for two months. Very disappointing!

I have purchased 3 new Hyundais in the last 4 1/2 years. I would consider myself a loyal customer. On 8/19/18 I stopped at Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala, FL. to purchase my 4th Hyundai in 4 1/2 years. I had with me the internet information on the SUV I was going to purchase. Listed below plus the window sticker posted on their website.Detailed Pricing. Stock # : Y5005 / VIN : KM8J33A21JU683376. $30,800MSRP. $1,000Savings. $29,800 No-Haggle Price. $2,500 Hyundai Offer. $500 Hyundai Offer. $26,800 Final Price. $500 Conditional Offer. $500 Conditional Offer. $400 Conditional Offer. When I sat down to purchase the SUV I was told the price was just a little over $35,800 because of the added dealer extras. This information wasnt listed on the website (as you can see above). I came to the dealership to negotiate the price listed above $26,800 and was told I could purchase the SUV for $32,800 plus tags, taxes and a dealer prep fee of $899.00. As you can see above $26,800 Final Price. Only a fool would fall for this scam!I ask why they didnt list the $35,800 on the internet and their answer was we dont have to. This is totally dishonest! In doing some more research on the SUV and cars on the Jenkins lot I discovered most if not all are priced this way and are not listed on the website. They are all similar to the deal I was served up. The bottom line is that the website price is a scam to get you to the dealership so they can rip you off. This was a horrible experience. At previous dealerships when purchasing a Hyundai I was treated with respect and they negotiated in GOOD FAITH! You should be ashamed for having a crooked dealerships like this one!

I will start with I love my car, it’s a beautiful blue, fits my family well and it is a delight to drive, when it worked, but I am saddened by how my newer vehicle had a catastrophic failure with all warnings and bells that are supposed to come in play, not work and leave my young child and I sit on the side of the road on a hot day, and then get the run around between corporate and the dealership. I am an essential worker and I must get to work and get my child to and from care daily. I am being told my car is listed as a rental car, um, we bought this car from a dealer for our family car. I work at an accounting firm, this car is not a rental. It gets my little family to and from point A to point B, so someone needs to correct this paperwork error which we have been asking for. Second, I am being told that my vehicle’s warranty doesn’t move to the second owner yet. On our purchase paperwork it states in 1 place that we have the factory warranty with the purchase and in a second place it states in very large font, WARRANTY INCLUDED, the dealer will pay 100% of the labor and 100% of the parts for the balance of the factory warranty of 10 years or 100k miles. We had the vehicle towed to the dealer per what the engineer at corporate advised my husband to do. It has been a week and we are getting the run around on if anything will be fixed and if we can even get a loaner car. We work overlapping times on the other sides of the county and cannot possibly share a vehicle. Unable to find rides every day, one of us had to miss multiple days of work dealing with this. My car is a 4 year old Hyundai Tucson that is equipped to warn you if you have low tire pressure, a door is ajar, oil is low and so on and so on. Somehow, no warning at all, and very on time oil changes, my car made an odd noise going up a hill, and then it died. The engine seized. How can something like that happen on a 4 year old car, less than 100k miles and none of its warnings throwing red flags and there wasn’t any codes either. Did I mention my husband is a mechanic. This is not normal and I don’t understand why we are getting the run around between the dealer and corporate. A loaner car should have been approved immediately along with the warranty work. I want to be able to continue enjoying my car that I’m still paying for. :(

On 1/5/2012, I was in an accident in my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. A car ran the stop sign and pulled out in front of me and I slammed on my brakes but could not stop in time so I t-boned them going about 40mph dead center. The airbags did not deploy. I had severe whiplash and now have constant back pain. I am so mad that the airbags did not deploy. I contacted Hyundai about this and they wanted all this information from me: service records and everything but the kitchen sink. Yes, I had the maintenance done on my vehicle either by my husband or a mechanic, and no, my airbags were never removed. Maybe Hyundai forgot to put the airbags in the vehicles that have so many issues of them not deploying.

We took the cars in for a Mileage Check and they did a completely fraudulent test with bogus results and basically told us to get lost - there was nothing they could do for us. Details: They made us top the engine and returned our cars having NOT been topped off - hence the faulty results.

Shiny plastic cover over interior driver door latch (to open) began peeling off. Before the warranty on this item expired at 60K miles, advised that the dealership had to order another cover. Assuming it is a peel off, stick on type of application. No mention of buying a completely new door latch just because plastic surface was peeling off. In the meantime, a fog lamp went out; one of the door locks stopped working. Dealer advised that none is covered by warranty. Cost of replacing the door latch $150 b/c the entire assembly is apparently required. Cannot purchase the stick on plastic cover. One light bulb for fog light, $75. Replaced one actuator for one door lock mechanism, $460. Service manager could not explain why these outrageous prices for simple repairs were required. Hyundai should allow their dealers to make profit on service, but this type of pricing is outrageous and abusive. I said no, and plan on raising hell in every forum I can.

Hyundai has the worst leasing programs in the business. Do not fall for their lease plan. My wife turned her Equis recently. The car was 12,000 miles under so she thought she was fine. She had the Hyundai dealer wash the car when she took it in for an oil change. They used a pressure washer and took some of the pearl white off the plastic bumper. The manager said they have had issues with this paint and not to worry. Hyundai sent a person out to look at her car and write it up. She wrote down the paint issue. She said it needed a new tire. The tire in question was well within the safe range. Note that this vehicle was known to have under equipped tires on them and she kept the same when she replaced them. After 24,000 miles she had purchased two sets of tires. The Equis was their top of the line vehicle and their bottom of the line vehicles had more bells and whistles on them. My wife had asked before purchasing the vehicle about all of the things like bluetooth and was assured it had it but the salesman didnt know how to work it. That was a lie. She went back the day after purchasing the vehicle and was told Too bad, were sorry. Cant do anything about it. I will say it was the best driving vehicle weve had and I did enjoy it. The problem was the Hyundai Lease, they lie, cheat and dig into your back pocket. DO NOT LEASE THROUGH HYUNDAI. Purchase the vehicle outright or find another lease option. My wife showed the Texas Hyundai Lease manager her original correspondence and how Hyundai Lease didnt get back to her the first week she had it. They do not care about you, just the money. We are waiting on a recall for the white paint to get our money back. Tire places including the dealership said the tire in question was within code. The dealership said they would have waived all of the issues Hyundai Lease found. Remember, youre getting the car from a dealership but youre dealing with Hyundai underhand Lease.

On June 14, 2014, around 7:30 p.m. I started up Sideling Hill in Maryland. My car -- 2004 Hyundai Elantra slowly started to lose speed. As I looked at the speedometer, I noticed it was declining to 40 mph and accelerating did no good. Suddenly smoke started to come out of the drivers rear section and the oil light came on. I immediately pulled over and stopped. The car did not start again. I had it towed back to my home area to a repair shop that the two driver recommended. The guy looked at it and called me that week and said the oil pump was gone and it needed a new engine. I decided to get a second opinion and had the car towed to another mechanic. He said that he ran a couple of tests and that it needed a new engine.... not sure if it does or if neither wanted to fool with it. Anyway, I decided I need my car (single, 62 years old and have elderly parents who live at a distance). The mechanic ordered a used engine in decent condition but it was a 2002 that would fit my 2004. When they got it and started to put it in, it did not fit as my engine had a variable down timer and the 2002 did not. However, when the mechanic checked the engines that would fit my car as well as checking with the salvage yard and my VIN both found that a 2002 should fit my car. However, it does not as evidently my car -- a 2004 was fitted with a 2003 engine. So no instead of having my car finished July 4th week, it is again waiting for another engine, which is extremely difficult to find. Its been going on a month; I have family in the area. My friends are all gone and/or working during the day while Im at home. So, Ive been taking public transportation (cabs) for errands, which of course is inconvenient and costly. I emailed Hyundai and of course, I received a canned reply saying the usual. Ive had the car and overall its done well but Im frustrated that they would fit cars like this and then it comes back to haunt the consumer -- me. Of course, it doesnt help that Sears did a tune-up awhile back and didnt mention that there might be something wrong with the engine. The mechanic who now has my car says that it was running on only one piston -- the tune up was done a year ago. Last year, the rep at Sears had wanted me to have my anti-freeze and steering fluid replaced and I had said not at that time. Another post I had read mentioned that he had a similar issue as a result of his anti-freeze leaking. Im wondering if Sears did not replace the lids or valves back correctly. Anyway, Ive got a major expense on my hands and am currently unemployed. But my main concern is that I cannot get out in case of an emergency. So my car is still at the mechanics going on week 4 now. And there is no sign of finding an engine that will fit the car as it is.

3 weeks ago, I bought my 2016 Genesis Coupe and the car salesman did not tell me that the car was going to be very low to the ground, about 3 inches. Yesterday, as I was pulling into a parking spot, the front splash shield guard under my car, got stuck by the parking stopper made out of cement and as I pull back out, the splash shield broke off at the right side. I took the car to the Hyundai dealership to get it repaired. Well, it is going to be over $1,400.00 lots of damage for a little accident that should not had happened, if they would had disclose the height of the car. Just because no one told me that the car is very low to the ground and the splash shield may get stuck and break off as you pull back.

My engine light came on when the car had about 70000 km. I checked and no oil. I towed the car in and after a week, Streetsville Hyundai told me that it was the oil pump building up pressure and forcing all the oil out of the engine. They assured me that replacing it will solve the problem. BTW, during this repair, I was also told that the alternator belt and the steering belt were all cracked and needs replacement at my cost. I have never heard of this happening in a car that is only 3 years old. 2 weeks later I noticed the car had problem picking up speed while changing gear and would rev to 5-6K before kicking in. 3 days later, the engine light came on again and no oil again. This time apparently the whole engine needs to be replaced because something in it is completely broken when they took the engine apart. After taking my whole car apart for diagnostic, I was told that my clutch was also completely burned out because I was riding the clutch. This is my third standard cars. The first one lasted 11 years with almost 200 K without a new clutch. The second one was 8 years old with 160K when I traded in without ever changing clutch. They are machining my flywheel and changing only the clutch disk and wanted to charge me $500 for parts only. First of all, I am convinced that my driving habits were not responsible for the clutch burning and second parts only should not come anywhere close to $500. I am sure that the problem was caused by the engine. I checked and learned that if there is oil on the clutch, it can cause slippage and burn my clutch. Still arguing with Hyundai warranty. I have to agree with everyone that Hyundai warranty service is not very helpful at all when you call them to address the issue.

I am another person tricked by this dealership with the $50 test drive promotion. The salesman on site confirmed that the dealership does participate in the promotion AND he welcomed me to take part. He said that he, himself, received the $50. The salesman proceeded to say that he needed to take a copy of my drivers license. He also took my name and email address. He showed me a car on the lot but did not take me for a test drive. He said he had what he needed from me and his manager would process the promotion by the next day. I was supposed to receive it in an email. After nothing happened I asked the manager and it was obvious they never had any intention of following though on promises. First the manager told me that I was not eligible because the promotion was only good for one person in each household. Of course that made no sense because no one in my household ever took part. Then he decided on another bogus excuse and said that the terms and conditions of the promotion allowed him to not participate. This is AFTER they TOOK my information under false pretenses. They took a copy of my ID. They took my email address. And since then, they have had the nerve to use my email address to send me junk email!! What they DID NOT DO is what they promised. As another person commented, it is obvious their word does not mean much. Be careful of this place. Its hard to tell what these guys are up to?? Better to stay away!

I purchased my 2015 Sonata in January of 2016. After 3 days of ownership I noticed the panoramic roof was rattling, I returned to the dealership and the sales person said the car was just having some growing pains (this is the 3rd car I have owned with a pano roof - 05 Scion Tc and 14 Sonata Limited). I took him for his word and took a short road trip and the rattle only got worse. At 1822 miles I returned to the dealership and complained about the roof, and I was rewarded with the services manager telling me the 15s have been having issues with their pano roofs. They lubed everything up and told me they would call me when they had a fix. At 3998 (3/17/16) miles I returned to the dealership with the issue growing worse, once again Hyundai lubed the seals and said it was fixed. At this point I had enough and contacted Hyundais customer hotline and filed a complaint, and Hyundai didnt bother to respond. Shortly after my roof sustained some damage from debris and the dealership refused to work on it. They even joked around about maybe once the insurance company fixed my roof the rattle would go away. Once again I contacted customer care and filed a complaint warning of a lemon law violation. My case was passed on and I called back every single day for almost a month until I had someone return my call. Hyundai agreed to replace my entire roof under warranty, this was done in 8/8/16 at 10161 miles. Hyundai agreed to place their best warranty on the car at no cost to me and assured me the roof was fixed. A few weeks later the rattle slowly started to come back, it slowly got worse and the dealership in several undocumented occasions lubed up the seals. Once again I called customer care and spoke with their regional person who was helping me and raised my concerns. He agreed to send a engineer out to check my roof and if he determined the rattle was there Hyundai was going to buy back my car. On 3/6/17 I dropped my car off with an ever present rattle and picked it back up on 3/7/17 only to be informed that the rattle was not found by their engineer. On 3/8 Hyundai denied my claim for a buy back stating the roof was working as it is designed to do. Now I have to file a BBB complaint to get this issue resolved.

I purchased two years ago a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited certified used from a local Hyundai dealership in Waterloo iowa. At the time had done it to replaced another Sonata that had electrical issues. Last September I was made aware via the Internet that my car had a major recall with the motor. At the time, I thought about trading the car in, but no dealership would touch the car because had a knocking noise which lower value of the car. So fast forward today, I eventually had the engine replace. When I picked up my car the dealership they not only replaced the engine but done the recalled for the brake stopper pad. Soon after my current nightmare started. The motor sound like it was whistling sound every time I drove it. At first I thought it was because it was braking in so I didnt let it worry me. Then a few months later it stop this when the knocking sound came back. Also car didnt want to shift right and one time it would not start at all. Last straw was the check engine light came on and stay on. I had taken the car into a local repair shop who put it on the computer. This is when he informed me that three of the four valves were gone. That should not happen if a complete engine was replaced. So I contact Hyundai to informed them that my engine was gone again and they need to buy back this piece of junk. They took their sweet you known what time to respond to my request or even find another solution to my problem. They cant be trusted. I should mention, on September 27 about 400 pm CST I almost in serious car accident with this piece of junk. As I pulled into the parking lot of daughters dance studio, I had applied my brakes. Was putting the car into park, when the car suddenly speed up and jump the curb coming within inches hitting the building. I was completely in shock when it happen. So, asked if she seen me put my foot brake on the brake. She told me yes.So right away I called Hyundai about this event and got told have my car tow to a local Hyundai dealership which would had been the one who had done the original recall work. I done it as told and when I did not hear back from Hyundai or the dealership where the car was tow to, I got a big song and dance from them that it went to some regional Manager I should hear back soon. As of yesterday did not hear back from them, so I had my car tow outed the dealerships parking lot and sent to another reliable automotive repair shop to have the car inspect for engine damage and the brakes fix.I was lucky I had not been killed driving this piece of junk. I am now 10,000 dollars under water with this car, and cant even drive it. My advice to all who are thinking about buying a certified used Hyundai Sonatas or any other hyundai product that matter is dont. You will get burn and hurt. Take it from me. They make a beautiful product for great value, but being cheap is the being not worth at the end.

I bought my 2012 Sonata GLS brand new in March of 2012 with 36 miles on it. Never a single mechanical issue with it until this past January 2015. My car randomly shut off while driving home from getting my oil changed at the dealer. After trying to figure out the problem on our own with no luck, I called the dealership the next day and they told me to call Hyundai Roadside Assistance and have the car towed into the shop so they could take a look at it and figure out what was going on.I called roadside assistance and after going round and round with the man on the phone, they located my car and towed it to the dealership. A day or two later, I hadnt heard anything about the status of my car, so I called the service dept and asked what was going on. I was told Oh! I was JUST about to call you! and they informed me that my engine locked up. When I asked how that happens and was told that he had no idea how it happened because I always have my car serviced at the dealer so they have records that my cars maintenance has been kept up with. I had to ask what I was supposed to do about a vehicle while they waited for Hyundai to approve a new engine. Then he asked my age, I informed him I was 25 and then he told me they could put me in a loaner car but probably not till the next day. They put me in a loaner car, the engine was approved and put in and they called me to come pick up my car. About a week after picking up my car, my check engine light came on. I was nervous because I was about to leave to go on a 5 hour trip. I called and they told me to come in so they could check it. I went in and the lady told me it was basically the car registering that there had been a problem before which didnt make a lot of sense to me, but she cleared the light and I went on my way.Not long after that, I was on the highway and my car was jerking while I was driving. I called the dealership right away and the man told me that is normal. It’s basically the car re-learning the new engine. I took his word for it because I dont know much about cars and that made a little sense. My check engine light came on again and I called the dealer. I was told I would be charged a $90 diagnostic fee for them to see why it was on. Not long after that, I was sitting in a pretty long line in the drive-thru of a restaurant and looked down to see my temperature warning light on and my temperature gauge was all the way to the hot side. As soon as I started driving, it quickly went down and after having it looked at, I was informed that my fan is not working which is why the car overheats when it sits idle, but is fine when driving.I then went to Advanced Auto to have them see why my check engine light was on. The associate informed me that it was my camshaft position sensor and my crankshaft position sensor. I took my car into the dealer because it was due for an oil change. While I was there, they told me there was a recall with something to do with the computer. While I was there, I talked with a woman at the service desk and explained the whole situation to her. She told me that sensors arent covered under my PowerTrain warranty and that even though the engine and the sensors were new they still were not covered and would be my responsibility to fix. They changed my oil and they fixed the recall and 5 days later, my car wont even start.Today (6/9/15) I once again, called Hyundai roadside assistance and they picked up car up from my home and took it to the same dealer this morning. I received a call this afternoon from the same man I dealt with when they put the new engine in. He informed me that my starter went bad and that it is not covered under my warranty and there is no way that could have been our fault from putting in a new engine and they would need to put a new one in before they could check to see why the car was overheating. He said to get the new starter in, I was looking at around $500 and he would go ahead and get that put in for me now. Didnt even bother to ask if thats what I wanted him to do which I didnt. I told him NOT to do that, and that I would be looking into other options. I have literally NEVER been more frustrated with a company in my entire life. I pay a great deal of money every month because I wanted to buy a brand new car so that I wouldnt have all these problems, yet here I am. No car and no idea what to do to get this situation taken care of when I dont have the money to pay for all these issues.

Although a 6 speed manual, 2 door car might not be everyones cup of tea, I really like this 3.8 L/350 HP coupe. It runs very easily in traffic and has plenty of capability when given a clear road to play on. I have had no significant complaints in the 42,000 miles I have driven it and Hyundai have covered every little issue that I have had. Warranty and service are great but gas consumption isnt!

I would Strongly recommend not to buy Hyundai car, Especially PUSH BUTTON start. I am having I20 and facing a lot of trouble with the push button system. The car doesnt starts for hours. You will have to wait in traffic for hours to start the car again if turned off on lights. Very poor after sale service. Hyundai doesnt have solution to this problem yet. I have been struggling from past 2 years. The attitude of Hyundai Service Managers is very irresponsible. Faced a lot of harassment. In-fact being a loyal Hyundai customer from past 10 years I would rate 0.01 out of 5. No Initiatives, no responses from Hyundai in this regard. I repeat NEVER BUY HYUNDAI PUSH BUTTON CARS. For details you may contact **.

This morning I found my front passenger tire completely deflated in the parking lot of my apartment complex, right as I was trying to get to work. I reached out to Hyundais roadside assistance hotline and I spoke with Bridget, who was so patient with me and very helpful. She was very detailed with me and was able to get assistance to me in under an hour. They also sent a link to my cellphone so that I could track en route where the tow truck was and how soon they would be there. Josh, my roadside assistance mechanic, was early and could not have been nicer. He was finished with my tire replacement in ten minutes or less and answered all of my questions. He also made sure I had an appointment right away to get my tire fixed/replaced. My service today was excellent and I highly recommend Hyundais 24/7 assistance program. They really made me feel like a valued customer.

I leased a car for 3 years. According to the sales person, he told me that the service on the car would be included during the lease period but that wasn’t the case. It seems that he just said those things to make a sell since he was being very pushy from the start. The worst part is that he never disclaimed that by the end of the lease, I would be charged $500 plus $170 for some minor scratches that can occur during a 3 year period. When I returned the vehicle they basically force you to keep making business with them by leasing or buying a new car and that’s the only way they can forgive that $500 fee. When I called to claim, they told me that the contract is not with the dealer but with the company; even though it was signed at the dealer. They also don’t accommodate payment arrangements. Before leasing a car with companies like this, do some research and find what is convenient for you. Instead of dealing with a seller who would say anything just to get his commission and take advantage of you, if you don’t have experience in the subject.

I bought a brand new 2013 Hyundai right off the tractor & trailer. After 9 payments & 15,000 miles the turbo & motor are completely broke. Hyundai wants $10,000.00 from me to fix. I do not have it and shouldnt have to pay it. After 3 weeks of appeal, deny, appeal, deny, appeal, deny...I am trying to get a loan for the money. I bought Hyundai for the warranty. I expected the car to last longer than 9 months. So now Ill have a new car & 2 loans. This little car is not worth the now $34,000.00. A big business should stand behind their word. They are taking advantage of a customer. I will NEVER buy Hyundai again. I will tell everyone my story. I will also take advice on dealing with Hyundai. Please help. Dont even look at a Hyundai. Turn around. Run...Fast.

Began discussions with Hyundai over GPS map upgrade - for my model, $300. For other models $99. During email discussions GPS failed and warranty expired. Didnt buy car from Towne Hyundai, so they and regional support dont want to cover replacement under Goodwill consideration because they didnt make any money off of me. Hyundai Equus says in writing theyll replace it free. Dealer says NO, theyre only authorized to pull it out and ship it somewhere for repair, could take 2 weeks, could take a month with no map, no radio, no electronics as its all tied together. Never received any honest communications between Hyundai customer support, Towne Hyundai in Denville NJ, Hyundai regional rep and myself. Always the run-around, always delays or no responses and lies.

I bought a 2012 Hyundai Elantra from Tuttle Click Dodge in Tustin. There they had a sticker posted with 39 hwy mph. My car gets no more than 24 mph on the freeway going 65 steady in the right lane with Chevron gas. I have taken it to 5 different Hyundai dealers complaining about the issue almost right away. They all shrugged their shoulders and told me they couldnt find a problem. That the digital eco meter is a dummy gauge and doesnt give accurate numbers. Then why do they match my manual calculations? Finally after I showed them the website where I found out about the class action lawsuit did they admit... oh ya your car does have a mileage problem. Oh ya... we already lost the lawsuit. We will waste a ton of your time, and then say sorry you are not original owner and therefore not eligible for gas reimbursement! Today I took my horrible Hyundai to the dealer and they gave it back to me with a huge scratch on the door. Also, my newish Hyundai with only 20,000 miles makes a ton of noises and the check engine light came on.

Due to rude and incompetent people that handle customer service I will never buy a Hyundai again. I like the product but dealing with the people at Hyundai Motor Finance USA is so unpleasant that I would rather buy any other car. The staff doesnt listen to a word you say, they just repeat their demands over and over until you get so frustrated you have to hang up and compose yourself. Ask for a supervisor then you wait on hold for a long period and then just get the same treatment from the supervisors. Whatever happen to customer service? These people are horrible to deal with. If you want a Hyundai DO NOT USE HMFUSA unless you want to deal with condescending, obnoxious, rude and ignorant people!

The car is extremely quiet in the cabin because the gas engine turns off when approaching stops. All waiting at lights is done with practically no sound except the climate control system. After approximately 3000 miles, I began hearing a knocking, clunking sound during braking. It became worse and worse until you could count 5 to 8 knocks as you approached stops.During the 5,000 mile service, I reported this and the Hybrid Technician rode with me in the car and easily heard the noise. He correctly stated, the sound seems to be coming from the firewall behind the steering wheel. There was an identical 2016 Sonata Hybrid on the lot. Same options only a different color. We could not this car to make the noise. An appointment was scheduled to look at this. The brakes were bled and the technician admitted the problem was better but not resolved. Indeed, the sound was better for about 200 miles then the issue returned as before. Only worse. Another appointment was scheduled. This time the brake fluid was removed, something was filtered??? And fluid replaced and bled. This totally removed the issue for another 200 to 300 miles and then the noise slowly returned. Another appointment was scheduled. This time I was told to leave the car and loaner would be given to me. Instead, when I arrived, I was told I would only have to wait 30 min and then take the car. I was told the brakes had been adjusted and the car was safe. No change or resolution at all.I called Hyundai USA only to get an attitude from ** about why I would complain about such a small matter. The brakes were safe and I should expect a car with 10,000 miles to perform like the Silver Sonata Hybrid on the lot with less than 50 miles. Im not making this up. I asked ** to connect me to her boss. She refused saying, Id have to talk to her. I said I wanted to speak to her boss. She replied, He was in a meeting. I asked her to leave him a message and call me back. That was weeks ago. NO CALL BACK. At this point, I began pulling out the Lemon Law booklet and left a few pissed off messages to the service manager in Sport Durst Hyundai in Durham. This prompted a return call stating that in the previous visit nothing had been done to the car but a regional parts and service manager was in town and wanted to ride in the car.So I went back for a 4th time. Four of us climbed into the car. ** The technician, ** (Hyundais regional manager), ** (Sport Durst service manager), and I drove. It was not difficult to create the sound by feathering the brake pedal. The real noise, however, happens when the car is in start and stop driving. When its hot. They had a remote part microphone, when was turned on indicating the noise was coming from the Hydraulic Brake Actuator.Okay. The part makes this noise. For the first 3,000 miles I never heard the noise and you still cant hear it in the new Silver Sonata Hybrid which was on the lot. My response was, I dont care what kind of noise a part makes in the engine compartment, I dont want to hear this in the cabin every time I put on the brakes. The regional service manager then stated that for CUSTOMER SATISFACTION the part would be replaced. The part could have been replaced 6 weeks earlier when I brought it in, but Hyundai in California refused to authorize this replacement.Ive never owned a car even from the 70s and 80s that made such a noise when applying the brakes. This condition is beyond unacceptable. So today, I get the new part. Im almost certain that within the next 3000 to 4000 miles the noise will return as before. Im also confident that hundreds of 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid owners in the next 6 months are going to be bringing in their cars with brake noise complaints. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to remove and replace this actuators.

I called because I have a 2011 Sonata with only 67000 miles and have had engine repaired and now axle and I paid out of pocket for wheel bearing which should have been cover. The supervisor CODY was rude and his tone was uncalled for and instead listen and trying to rectify the situation he just stated that, case manager will contact you in 3 to 5 business days. He also stated that it is not Hyundai fault and that I the customer needed to the dealer and take care of it. I thought Hyundai and the dealer were a part of the company, I guess Im wrong. Very disappointed and will never buy a Hyundai again!
