The Hyundai Elantra is a compact sedan produced by the South Korean automaker Hyundai. The Elantra has been a popular choice in the compact sedan segment, known for its stylish design, fuel efficiency, and a range of features. Here are some key aspects of the Hyundai Elantra, as of my last knowledge update in January 2022:

Gasoline models are equipped with efficient and responsive engines, while hybrid models focus on fuel efficiency.

The Elantra's interior is designed to provide comfort and convenience for both the driver and passengers.

Features may include a user-friendly infotainment system, available touchscreen displays, and connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety Features:

Hyundai places an emphasis on safety, and the Elantra often comes equipped with advanced safety features such as forward collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist, and more.

Trim Levels:

The Elantra is typically offered in various trim levels, allowing buyers to choose the level of features and equipment that best suit their preferences.

Technology:

Depending on the trim level, the Elantra may include technology features like a touchscreen infotainment system, navigation, premium audio systems, and more.

Hyundai Elantra N Line:

The N Line is a performance-oriented variant of the Elantra, offering sportier design elements, tuned suspension, and a more powerful engine for those seeking a more spirited driving experience.

Hyundai Elantra Hybrid:

The Elantra Hybrid is designed for fuel efficiency and features a hybrid powertrain that combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor.

It's important to note that specifications, features, and availability can vary by market and model year. For the most accurate and up-to-date information about the Hyundai Elantra, including the latest model year (2022 and beyond), it is recommended to visit the official Hyundai website or contact a Hyundai dealership in your region. This is the last car I plan to ever have cuz gots all the options, loaded it - has it all. I have 20 year warranty, free car washes, and its the last car Im going to ever need - it will last forever. Car is fast too, nobody keeping up with it, they can keep dreaming because nothing comes close. This car rides so good and the gas mileage is crazy man, I never have to fill the tank on it. I fill up the tank and I can drive for 3 weeks and its still got a half tank left on it. Im never having any problems with this car and so glad I didnt buy a Honda. Hyundai is the way to go and the best car in the world.

On 1/5/2012, I was in an accident in my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. A car ran the stop sign and pulled out in front of me and I slammed on my brakes but could not stop in time so I t-boned them going about 40mph dead center. The airbags did not deploy. I had severe whiplash and now have constant back pain. I am so mad that the airbags did not deploy. I contacted Hyundai about this and they wanted all this information from me: service records and everything but the kitchen sink. Yes, I had the maintenance done on my vehicle either by my husband or a mechanic, and no, my airbags were never removed. Maybe Hyundai forgot to put the airbags in the vehicles that have so many issues of them not deploying.

Ive leased many cars over the years, but never have I had a more negative experience than I had with Hyundai Finance. There was, apparently an end-of-lease termination charge (unrelated to the condition of the vehicle, purely an administrative/profit charge) that was identified in the very small print at the end of my lease agreement. When I turned in the vehicle along with the inspection report that showed no damage and no charges, I inquired whether there was anything owed and was told no, youre good to go.I never received an invoice of any kind from Hyundai indicating that there was a balance due following the termination of my lease agreement (5/31/2018). I was unaware that there was a balance due until my bank notified me that there had been an adverse credit report on Experian. While Hyundai called my home and left several voicemails, they failed to indicate the reason or purpose of their calls and I assumed, since my lease was over and the car had been returned, that they were sales/promotional related calls, similar to the hundreds of other such calls I receive that go unanswered. Hyundai had the capability to take direct draws on my account during the lease period. I received an email communication from Hyundai on May 1, 2018 stating that my financial obligation was complete and that the payment schedule was being deleted at Hyundai’s request.Following return of the lease vehicle, Hyundai shut down access to my online account with them; consequently I could not log-in to see details about any balance due. Although I had previously updated my address of record on the Hyundai Finance website, Hyundai apparently contacted my prior employer and sent notifications to my prior employers address, rather than contact me at my home address. As I was no longer an employee there, my former employer did not act on these communications other than to inform Hyundai Finance that I was no longer an employee. After seeing the adverse entry on my credit report, I contacted Hyundai to inquire what was going on. That is when they suddenly informed me that there was a past due amount. I informed them that I had never received an invoice and was unable to look at my account online because they had closed it and requested that they fax the invoice to me. As soon as I received the invoice, it was paid in-full within 48 hours. The people who I spoke with at Hyundai were rude and unprofessional and completely devoid of any sense of customer service orientation. They didnt care at all that I had never received the invoice. Despite explaining in detail what had happened, they refused to do anything to correct the adverse credit rating report that was fully their own administrative failure! My advice to anyone purchasing or leasing a Hyundai vehicle -- work with your own bank and stay completely away from Hyundai Finance. You will regret ever having established a business relationship with them.

Driving a new 2019 Tuscon Elite AWD. Car is good but had a alignment/steering issue from day one. Issue was addressed after four attempts and four months, although at a Ford Dealership. No issue with vehicle or even local dealerships. Issue for me is with the parent support team in CA. After months of steering issue finally opened a case with Hyundai Corporate. Cutting to chase, the folks in corporate are rude, did zero to help or expedite addressing issue and essentially deflected any liability what-so-ever. They opened a case I thought to help me, then never followed up, returned calls, answered emails - absolutely nothing! So again decent SUV, great value, but absolutely the 100% worst national customer support line Ive ever had the dissatisfaction of working with. If you a like a good value, then Hyundai is a safe bet. If if you also like a fair and open OEM who is concerned with customer feedback with new car issues, then run as fast as you can from Hyundai based on this writers firsthand experience.

So I ventured into a 48 mo lease back in Nov. 2011 on a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I got my vehicle from a well-known dealer down by the Philadelphia Auto Mall. The deal was fine, dealership was helpful and off I went in my new Elantra. The one small issue was with the color combination I had wanted but the dealer could not deliver on. So I settled on an available color combination and was happy nonetheless. Fast forward 3 1/2 years later and like a good loyal soldier I found myself back at the same dealership. This time I went in with a printout of the 2016 Elantra Limited I built on Hyundais online site. I was feeling confident I could finally get that color combination I had wanted back in Nov. 2011... NOPE!! The dealer searched around for my color combo and basically in so many words told me the closest location they could find my color combination was about 1,800 miles away in Oklahoma City. WHAT??? I figured I still and some time until my lease ended so I told them I was not in an immediate rush so they had time to get the vehicle (or one in that color combo) to Philadelphia. That suggestion was all but brushed off and I was basically given (once again!) the impression I would need to settle on a different color combination... I ended up in another vehicle that was NOT a Hyundai. My well maintained 2012 leased vehicle with 16,000 miles under the allowed mileage went back to the dealer and months later I receive a bill in the mail from Hyundai Finance totaling $850.20!! $380.00 for Excess Wear and Tear, $400.00 disposition fee and taxes totaling $70.20. As for the Excess Wear and Tear, did I mention my vehicle was well maintained? My carpets were NEVER even stepped on since the entire interior was lined with rubber flooring! There were no tears and/or burns to any seating surfaces. There were no dents and any scratches could be classified as your run of the mill light surface marks all finishes encounter at some point! With all that said, the biggest sticking point for me is that disposition fee. Or as I like to call it, a monetary gun to a consumers head to assure you NEVER leave their side. If Hyundai had such a wonderful product, the need to place a monetary gun to ones head to assure loyalty to the brand should not be necessary!!! Needless to say, I will NOT be a Hyundai customer again and my wife who is presently a Hyundai owner will not own a Hyundai in the future... at least not while I am breathing!! FINAL THOUGHT... Would you get into bed with Charles Manson? Venturing in to an auto lease with Hyundai can be eerily similar...

The Hyundai extended warranty is a joke, I purchased one in 2007 with my new Tucson. However, absolutely nothing that has gone wrong on my car was covered. The A/C blower is intermittent. Its connector was not covered because its in the passenger compartment, only $600. The air bag light comes on, turns out the seat belt assembly isnt covered either, another $500. The warranty apparently only covers items that you cant see or touch and items that they cant find a way for you to see or touch. To top it off, there is nothing that tells you exactly what parts are covered. That information is only available at the dealer.

We have a 2010 Accent and bought Hyundai dealership parts (tire sensors) and had a Hyundai dealership install the parts and two were defective but I didnt find out until driving the car home. I had to pay the dealership to take out the two bad sensors and reinstall the old parts until they found (4) working. I incurred several hundred in cost for the defective parts and the maintenance charges to deal with the defective parts. Customer service made me jump through hoops with documentation (which I provided) and then more documentation (which I provided) then more documentation including title/license copies? I finally lost my patience after months and had to file a small claims case. Their CA offices are apparently closed so I cannot serve their legal dept? I wrote a letter to their legal dept November 22, 2021 and havent heard anything from anyone at Hyundai. In the mean time Im out $700 + dollars since July, 2021. What kind of treatment is this for their defective parts?

In 2011 I purchased a Sante Fe with the in-car Navigation System. The day we drove the car off the lot the maps were out of date. I contacted the dealership and was told it would automatically update. Two years later, we asked again and were told we had to pay $200 to have the maps updated. Now, the car is 3-years-old and the navigation system is so bad it is dangerous. We dont even turn it on. For $200, we purchased a Garmin with free lifetime map updates. So we now drive a Sante Fe, with a built in navigation system, and a Garmin attached to the windshield. Friends are shocked at what we have had to do.Why is Hyundai doing this to their customers? I tried to speak to Hyundai Customer Connect System Lead Laura who gave me nothing but attitude. How outrageous to charge what you do for the system, then expect us to pay $200 each time it needs to be updated. Are you crazy??? Im done with Hyundai. Oh yea, did I mention that the Sante Fe was my third, and now last, Hyundai purchase.

After buying a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport in October of 2016, we noticed, at the first washing of the car that the clear coat was marred in several areas. We immediately reported it to the dealer. We took it in, he agreed that it was a defect, and sent us to several different body shops to see if anything could be done. We had it detailed (at our expense) and buffed but the marred finish was still visible. The dealer then advised us to call the manufacturing which we did. After months and months of runarounds from Hyundai Corporation, we are no closer to getting our car fixed. Their case managers dont return our calls when they say they are going to and every time we call them, we have to repeat our story countless times. Today we were informed there was NOTHING they could do. Sorry! We feel like their customer service is very poor and that stall you, hoping you will give up hope and go away. I will never buy a Hyundai again after this experience.

I bought this from a certified dealer in Myrtle Beach who told me the 10-year 100,00 was transferable to me. Otherwise, I wouldnt have bought it. Ive had problems with the airbag light. I took it to a different dealer who now charged me to fix it saying the wiring was bad under the passenger seat. The next evening, I went to move the car and put it in park and it started jumping and rolling backward. I put it in drive and went forward, put it in park and it did the same thing. I had to put the emergency brake on. I called the dealer. They cant get to the car for 3 days so I have nothing to drive, and to top it off, tell me I dont have any warranty. That Im going to have to pay for repairs. I look at the warranty info online from the Hyundai website and it says that warranties transfer over to new owners. I think this company is a sham and the dealers are worse, trying to rip us off. I am a single woman and feel like I am being ripped off many times over starting with the Myrtle Beach dealer. My mom has been a faithful customer of theirs for years and has purchased 7 cars, 5 of them being Sante Fes, from them in 9 years and has recommended them to many people. I am so angry and disappointed with this situation. I guess loyalty doesnt pay. It just makes you vulnerable to unscrupulous dealers.

I had my inner CV boots replaced which were under warranty. After Hyundais service department fixed the inner CV boots, my car broke down about 2.5 weeks later (it seemed like a transmission problem). I had to have the car towed. They claimed they fixed something, without giving me any detailed information and it broke down again 1 week later (I had the same exact feeling of the transmission when it broke down, where I had to have it towed again - this is very frustrating and is extremely dangerous! The service manager informed me that the axle was broken on the first time it was in and it was fixed. The second time around I received numerous answers on what was wrong. They have claimed to fix the accelerator now, but there are several new problems. I did not have one issue with my car before taking it in to Hyundai for service. Now, we cannot figure what is wrong exactly because the computer seems to be malfunctioning. I have had the spark plugs and wires replaced.

If I can save you the trouble from leasing from Hyundai, then please listen
If I can save you the trouble from leasing from Hyundai, then please listen carefully. I have always leased my cars. Ford, Volvo, Saab, etc. Ive NEVER had an issue with a leasing company, process has been flawless. Hyundai Financial has been an absolute nightmare. At lease end, Hyundai send out a 3rd party to look over your car. There is no wear and tear allowed for a 3-year lease. The 3rd party company spends 1 1/2 hrs going over your car with a magnifying glass (true!) and then hands you a bill for $3,000. If there is a pen mark on your seats, then you have to replace the entire fabric on all the seats. They then tell you that this is just a guide for you to get things fixed and this will never go to Hyundai. Thats a lie. We took the car to have the ridiculous list addressed, spent hundreds of dollars getting tiny scratches out, the pen mark on the fabric (there were no dents, tires were brand new, under mileage, etc.), and faxed over the complete report to Hyundai. The car was in such perfect condition that when we turned it in, the dealership leasing manager called the sales manager and said they needed to buy this car. A month later, we get the $3,000 bill from Hyundai. They DO NOT send someone out to look over the car after the work is done. They go completely off the original work their 3rd party sends them. We submitted our receipts 3 times and they told us they didnt like the wording on our invoices and suggested we wrote it ourselves! I said feel free to call the company that we paid hundreds of dollars to who worked on our car 3 days. The detail shop called us, said Hyundai was extremely rude, and that was the end of that. Three months later, on Christmas Eve morning, we get a call from a collection agency that says we owe $3,000. We now have to hire an attorney. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!

The coil spring on the front driver side snapped, blew out my tire and Hyundai only has a recall on the 2011 Elantra. It is not normal for a vehicle with 59,000 km have this issue unless there was a factory defect. HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 20
HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 2012 I wrote Steve Kelleher a letter stating my sheer dissatisfaction with the water problems I was experiencing with my 2010 Genesis Coupe. These problems became apparent in October 2009, less than 6 months from when I purchased it brand new in May of 2009. I have a multitude of work orders showing evidence of this water leak as well as my diligence in trying to address these issues. To date the sunroof is still leaking and soaking the back interior of my car. HYUNDAI CANADA is refusing to address this leak as the car is now out of warranty. In my letter to Mr. Kelleher I stated the following as well as sending him proof of the work orders: Water running down the back speakers after rain. Leaks soaking the trunk as well as interior back panel and seat. The radio cuts in and out after heavy rain when the car is cold. The air conditioner and fan randomly turn on when both dials are off. Thick frost accumulates on the insides of the windows when cold. Windows fog up in the rain. The car smells musty. Back tail lights leaking.Since then radio cut out when loading CD player, eating my CD and rendering CD player inoperable. Because of a faulty sunroof mechanism the water leaks have caused staining of the interior liner. The interior liner was totally replaced because of extensive water damage. The seals around the back window were replaced springs popping out of the back seat and the leather seat ripping at seams where water was pooling so the backseat was replaced. The passenger window was lifted and reset because it was an entry point for water. The ABS light remained on and was repaired. The passenger window would not close and sporadically after a rain gets stuck. Tail lights leaking both resealed. LeakPro resealed the car (sunroof, mechanisms, drip tray...etc.). Over 1 of water was recently wet-vacuumed out of the trunk. This car has done nothing but leak and after almost 8 years the water leak has not been resolved. Over the years the dealership has tried to address the problems that the water leak has caused but for whatever reason have not addressed the water leak itself. My car is still getting soaked after it rains. The dealership cannot afford to investigate this leak further and submitted a request to Hyundai Canada which was declined. It is time for Hyundai Canada to step up and back their product and their warranty. Because this has been an ongoing problem that has not been resolved since I purchased the car in 2009, the time sensitivity of the warranty should not be a factor.I am a single mom who has recently been reduced to a 4 day work week. I saved for and purchased this car because of Hyundais extended warranty and their reputation of standing behind their product. This car was not cheap and I expected it to last me a very long time. With water damage this car will rust and cause more electrical problems.

We purchased a 2012 Hyundai Accent the end of 2011 from Fairfax Hyundai in Fairfax, Virginia. Along with the car, we purchased an extended warranty that supposedly provides bumper to bumper repair peace of mind until 100,000 miles. Early in October, I called the Fairfax Hyundai service department to obtain our free oil change. I was told they could not schedule me for almost a week. It was already time for our warranty oil change, so I took the car to Just Tires in Fairfax, Virginia for an oil change. The Just Tires service tech came to me and informed me the Accents right rear brake pad was completely worn out and the rotors needed to be turned. The left rear pad still had lots of wear yet. The next day, I took the car to Fairfax Hyundai to get the car repaired under the Hyundai warranty. The Fairfax Hyundai service manager informed me that the repair was not under warranty because the right rear caliper slide had become dirty and stuck, thus causing the service problem. This was very disturbing to me since we paid an extra $1,200 for an extended warranty that was to cover everything that went wrong with the car except the radio and tires. I took the car to Mr. Tire in Fairfax, and they refused to fix the problem because they were adamant the caliper was Hyundais responsibility. At that point, I walked into the Fairfax Hyundai dealership and insisted to speak with the owner. Instead, a manager was available and he put me in contact with Kim **, the District Parts and Service Director. On 10-10-2012, Mr. ** told me that if I could get a Virginia State Inspection Station to report the car could not pass inspection due to a faulty caliper, he would see about repairing the car at no cost.I scheduled the car for inspection and a repair estimate on 10-15-2012 at CC Garage in Vienna, Virginia. I could not get an earlier date because this is one of the highest rated repair facilities in Northern Virginia and a Virginia State Inspection Station. CC Garage called me the next day and informed me the slide was no longer stuck and the caliper was working fine. He indicated he could not supply the report Mr. ** sought. At that point, I was fed up with the situation and told them to replace the pads and turn the rotors at a cost of $271. The rotors can only be turned a couple of times so now I am required to continuously worry when the caliper slide will become stuck again and cause another expensive repair. Eventually, this faulty caliper problem will require replacement of drums, rotors, and calipers. We wish we had not bought a Hyundai car at this point.I still felt Hyundai was not meeting its responsibility of honoring its warranty program. So yesterday, I started online research of similar problems Hyundai has had with brake calipers. My research indicates that this stuck caliper slide problem has existed since at least 2001, on various models of Hyundai passenger vehicles. I found complaints on your 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2010 models. Now I have a 2012 with the same exact problem. Refusing to address this faulty engineering problem has caused many a USA citizen unnecessary repair bills that should have been covered under Hyundais warranty and then a fix of the problem instead of ignoring the problem for years. I request three things for Hyundai to do: 1) Reimburse me for the $271.00 repair; 2) Assure me in writing that any future repair costs due to caliper problems on this car will be covered under the cars warranty program; 3) Assure USA citizens that Hyundai USA will immediately address and fix this problem on their passenger vehicles. I will wait for a reply to my concerns until 11-25-2012.

I have owned my 2012 Sonata for 1 yr and 10 months. The chrome trim on the hood was noted to be bubbling up, when I took it for its 60K mile maintenance. Its not rust, but rather bumps coming up on the trim work. Definitely a workmanship/manufacturer issue. I paid extra for the best warranty I could get when I bought the car. That was for 10 yrs and 100,000 miles, bumper to bumper, everything included they say when they sell you the car. Incidentally my warranty was extra at the time and not part of the special 10yr /100k they offered later. I paid around $2K extra for it. The dealership stated they would see if the corporate office would cover it because now they say the trim is not included in the bumper to bumper 10yr/100K warranty but for only 3yr/36K! How can they change the rules?? The corporate office stated they would not cover it. The service representative said the dealership might cover it under Goodwill. However he called today to tell me they wont cover it either! Guess they have no Goodwill there. (The dealership that lacks goodwill is Carl Gregory in Brunswick, Georgia.) So what about my Everything warranty?? The point is it should have been covered. Who wants to buy a car from a company that doesnt stand behind their warranty or their words? Secondly who wants a car that falls apart at 1 yr and 10 months!!? Not even halfway through most car payments. I am upset and stuck with my Hyundai Junk and I wont be buying a Hyundai again. They are not a reputable company. (Just got sued yesterday for $100 million lying about their emissions.) Beware!

I never missed a maintenance and am always at the dealership within the 3 months - 3,000 miles with checkbook in hand asking them to do whatever is necessary to maintain the warranty, value of the vehicle and to keep my car running. I just had the 2005 Tiburon in for scheduled service in April 2014. As always, this service department who had handled all my cars over the past 20 years said the car was in impeccable shape. Memorial day 2014 (a little over a month later), while driving I turned on the air. Within 5 minutes it started to jerk and sputter, smoke started to rise from under the hood and all my dashboard lights came on. I pulled over and called a tow. The next day I was in shock when the service manager called and said the engine had blew. I was not concerned with the cost as it was still 20,000 miles and 1 year under warranty. When I asked how this had happened, he said the car had a small leak in the radiator which caused it to overheat. I begged for answers on how this could happen. How I would have known there was a slow leak and if there was light that should have warned me and how the engine could have blown from overheating. Nothing Greg from Hyundai City said made sense to me on how I could have done anything different to prevent this. All he could say was because I had driven the car for an extended period of time, while overheating it would not be covered under the warranty and the cost would be about $3,000. There was literally minutes between realizing something was wrong and when the car died on the side of the road. There was not a single sign before this moment that would have led me to know something was wrong. He also went on to explain because the radiator wasnt covered and this is what ultimately caused the damage, they could not possibly cover the cost. I have no words. I have sent countless customers to this dealership as well as given Hyundai 60,000 plus dollars worth of business. They know how meticulous I am about service and have all my records. The car had 80,000 miles on it and just a month earlier was told the car was in perfect condition and now it sits with a blown engine without any fault of my own. I could not have done anything more to maintain the car or meet the warranty criteria. I did file a case with Hyundai but based on what Greg has told them I received an email stating that they will not honor the warranty. I am heartbroken and have no idea why the company I was so faithful to would treat me, let alone any customer this way. I have no words. I had no doubt that Hyundai would do the right thing but I am growing less and less faithful. I have no idea how this happened to my car and the company who can make this right refuses to. I know losing one customer is not a big deal to you but at the end of the day your integrity is all you have whether it be with one person or millions. It is all the same.

I drove many cars in my life, I never, never experienced what I am experiencing with a piece of junk like the 2017 Tucson. Hesitation, jerking, loss of power. Miraculously few times I avoided to get into a very big accident also very uncomfortable. Driver seat, complain to Consumer Affairs get nowhere! A bunch of liars! They tell you to go to the dealers and the dealers tells you to call Hyundai... I really hope this company, take their ** back to SK.

My first experience was when I received the recall notice for my 2006 Sonata about the airbags sensor for front passenger seat. I had Sports Durst in Durham check it when I took it in for service (been a while back) and was told nothing was wrong. Later, when someone over 90 lbs was sitting in seat, the airbag light would indicate that it was turned off. I took it to Crenshaw Hyundai in Burlington where they checked it. They confirmed it was faulty and mailed my seat to California for service. Now, my airbag light is back on again and was told by Crenshaw Hyundai that since it had been repaired, the recall work is no longer under warranty. It seems after reading all these complaints that it would not do any good to have it repaired because the majority says the light comes back on or the airbags failed to deploy in accidents or just deployed for no reason. I use to like Hyundais but after this I will never own another one nor recommend them.

Do not use this car dealership to buy a used car. I bought a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. The car was used and I realized used cars have problems, but they knowingly reset the engine codes on this car to clear bad catalytic converter codes out of the car computer (there has to be laws against this). A couple days after I had purchased the car the check engine light came on. When I took it to a local dealership the dealer told me that with a reading that high the cars had to have been bad for quite some time. So the car was misrepresented to me during purchase. The car also had traction control light on and traction control not working, a problem with the accelerator (which could be the transmission I dont know yet) and a cracked windshield. The car also had 4 different kinds of tires on it, a couple had dry rot and didnt seem safe to me (consequently I replaced the tires first, they werent safe). The online listing didnt represent any of these details and neither did the dealer. I drove all the way from Dallas to Sherman to purchase the car. After spending the time to drive from Dallas to Sherman we got the sum total of about 10 words out of **. This is after he told us he would be available when we got there. Instead he worked with someone that was obviously buying a more expensive car. Dont buy a car from liars and cheats, stay away from this dealership. This dealership clearly should get out of the used car market, most new car dealerships stand behind the used cars they choose to sell on their lots and guarantee them. This dealership however does not fall into that category. You may be ok buying a new car here but I would strongly advise you to not buy a used car from them. They shouldnt be selling them. To top all of this off, they knew I was buying this car for a first time 17 year old female driver. Can you believe it, shame on them. I will fork out the money and fix what they should have. All I asked is they help cover the catalytic converter because they are at fault with this. I would have done the rest. But they refused so I am choosing to review them and let the consumer chose to use them or not based on my review. I hope you dont for your sake.

This morning I found my front passenger tire completely deflated in the parking lot of my apartment complex, right as I was trying to get to work. I reached out to Hyundais roadside assistance hotline and I spoke with Bridget, who was so patient with me and very helpful. She was very detailed with me and was able to get assistance to me in under an hour. They also sent a link to my cellphone so that I could track en route where the tow truck was and how soon they would be there. Josh, my roadside assistance mechanic, was early and could not have been nicer. He was finished with my tire replacement in ten minutes or less and answered all of my questions. He also made sure I had an appointment right away to get my tire fixed/replaced. My service today was excellent and I highly recommend Hyundais 24/7 assistance program. They really made me feel like a valued customer.

The guy came and said he cant do it because it is parked behind a car and in front of another. He left me stranded. I called hyundia back. They told me stop complaining and hung up. This is useless totally. I waited till 7 am to call my Geico who picked up car no issue and dropped it at service. When I called them in the morning they said I have no coverage cause I live in burrows. Seriously disturbing. I like my car but the poeple and service are zeros.

I bought Hyundai Starex end of the year 2008. On 06.07.2011, while driving engine, oil was leaking badly and stopped the vehicle and towed to Hyundai Service Center at No-1, Jalan Johor Jaya, Taman Perindustrian Plentong, Johore Bahru, 81750 (Mileage 145447). Because of warranty, they replaced new engine. Old engine no. ** New engine no. **. On 26.09.2011, I send the vehicle and complain: 1. Oil leaking at power steering area / Intercooler hose area.2. Noise at engine area on acceleration. (Turbo area). After checking, they said nothing and all in good condition. Some foreman refused after checking the engine, its not a new engine. Its a used engine, but Hyundai Service Center said its a new engine. If new engine, why this much problem?.On 11.04.2012 in the morning, when starting the engine, I saw white smoke. I drove the vehicle to Hyundai Service Center at same place. Service Center sent me the quotation (estimate repair charges): 1.Turbo charger assy - Rm 315.00 2. EGR valve - Rm180.00 3. Intercooler - Rm180.00 4. Cover assy-rocker and / Gasket - Rm 45.00 5. Repair oil leaking at timing area - Rm 45.00 6. TQ gasket rocker cover 224414a400 - Rm 58.95 7. I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata into the Hyundai dealer service center with a problem on my auxiliary plug. I used a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable to connect my iPod to the car. After a couple of months, the cable had bad connection. Due to that problem, I bought a new auxiliary cable but the cable wasnt the problem. The problem was the 3.5 mm jack that is on the car. I brought my car to the dealer but they said they couldnt do anything since I didnt use OEM Hyundai auxiliary cable even though they knew the problem. So I bought the OEM cable, but after few months it didnt work well. So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. Also, it is very obvious that their staff would say there is no problem. I am highly unsatisfied from this experience. I cannot enjoy my music in my brand new Hyundai Sonata. I should have my audio jack replaced with a new part and refund on the cable.

The controller on my rear seat air conditioner failed. The dealer (Gentile Hyundai) ordered the part on July 12, 2011. Today is September 6, 2011, and we still do not have the part, not withstanding that in our part of the country we have record heat. The service department person (Candice) has done a great job in keeping me informed when I called, but Hyundai corporate office apparently does not have to deal face-to-face with the customer. Obviously, they have a different set of customer relation values.I am now retired, but for the last 24 years of my work career, I served as CEO of various manufacturing companies. A few of these were involved with the automotive market. At no time would I or any of my executives (or any associate for that matter) be allowed to even suggest, to a customer that we could not deliver a part or parts to them in a reasonable period of time. The idea that no reasons are given for this delay, or any suggestion when it may arrive is absolutely outrageous. This is my first Hyundai, 2008 Vera Cruz AWD Limited. It could very well be my last, and I am not shy about sharing experiences, both good and bad. This is not meant to be any form of threat, only a complaint from a very unsatisfied customer who expects better. The fact that I even waited this long to register this complaint should make it clear to you that Im not a whiner. Wheres my part?

Little things starting to break, a little rust starting, poor mpg. Vehicle was bought for wife who hardly drives, so mpg really not critical. Has twice yearly full synthetic oil and filter changes, transmission service and filter at 3 year intervals, antifreeze flush and change at 3 years as well. Our dealer was Lehman Hyundai in N. Dade County (So. FL). Experience was quite pleasant - no finance involved. Test drove, put a deposit down, faxed copy of sale order to bank and they transferred funds to dealer. The young lady who sold the car actually delivered it to our driveway, brought my wife out and explained everything in the car to her. Great customer service from dealer sales dept. Not the same for Service Dept - enough for me to be very displeased (at that time I was an ASE Master Certified Technician in not only automotive, but Medium-Heavy Duty Trucks as well). From date on no one has touched her auto but my Happy Wife, Happy Life. I did not purchase any additional warranty, having had experience with one 10 years prior. Almost all car salespersons and sales managers excel at lying and getting to sign on dotted line. Do your homework on vehicle being considered, obtain confirmation of financing (if needed) prior to driving on lot and NEVER accept a 1 day only deal from anyone. I would run out of that dealership, that is just an intimidation tactic. In my case she told me how much they wanted (Full Sticker Price) and I told her what I would pay. She talked to Sales Manager - I would not; didnt like his looks. No way was she told and brought me back that message. I thanked her for her time and walked back to my truck, unlocked and started it. There was a knock on my window, Yes they would accept my offer! The only advice I can give about their Service Departments is to not do business with any that do not have a full staff of ASE certifications in the area they are working in. Record all conversations on your smart phones and maintain very good records. Last but not least, if all of your ducks are in a straight row, take them to court for damages and ask for your legal costs to be reimbursed as well. For what a good lawyer will cost them, it is sometimes cheaper to do the right thing. Never threaten them with court, do it! This Hyundai was not a bad car by any means, but my ex daughter in laws Honda Civic has over 175,000 miles and still going strong. That $2,000.00 extra for the Honda would have been a good buy in hindsight.

On March 19, 2014, around 2pm I was driving home from my place of work in Temecula, CA, where my car had been off & parked for at least three hours. I was northbound on Highway 15, between Murrieta Hot Springs and California Oaks Road, in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car seemed to be driving fine until suddenly the car immediately starting smoking from under the hood and as I was pulling over to the side of the freeway, flames emerged. As soon as I pulled over and put the car in park, I hopped out hoping it wouldnt blow up with me inside. Then, after multiple failed attempts to extinguish the fire, it finally went out with the help of a few good Samaritans. Im extremely thankful, my fiancee and baby girl were not in the car with me. According to the incident report, it was the fuel line that had failed. Yet according to the Hyundai reps who have contacted me since towing my car to Hyundai in Temecula, they cannot determine the cause of the fire. Ive done some extensive research on similar occurrences only to find out that there have been multiple unresolved fires in Hyundai Sonatas around the US. After 2 months of a thorough investigation on my vehicle, they sent me a letter stating they had no idea what caused the fire. So, they cannot agree that the fire was caused by the vehicle. Ive found plenty others with the same issue. Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!?

When we first got our leases in 2016, we tried to set up auto withdrawal. My wife tried to set up auto pay and was told it was $30 a month. I told her she was wrong only to find out she wasnt. So my company chose to pay it. At the end of the lease we started to receive nasty messages saying we were behind on our payments. It turns out that Hyundai ceases auto withdrawal within two months of the lease end as standard procedure. Now that would be nice to know! So I had to make the payment and Western Union fee, who uses Western Union? No credit cards allowed. So I return the car to the dealer, but I still get bills in the mail. Call them again and they say I owe two payments. How can that be? I had already turned in the car! Turns out that the maturity date was the 18th and that was the date that I turned it in. OK so whats the problem? According to them the day that you turn in the car is the day before it matures and if you wait till the day that it matures, then you pay the next months payment! So its not a huge amount of money but Ill never use them again.

I have owned my 2009 Hyundai Elantra since new, and have had a rear rattle problem since new. The car has been in and out of numerous dealerships in the past four years with no one being able to find the source of the rattle. The aggravation has been enormous. This is clearly not a rare problem, as there have been countless articles online about the same problem I have, from other Elantra owners. I am throwing in the towel on Hyundai. I will never get near any Hyundai product again. When they first arrived in North America 25 years ago, their cars were absolute junk, especially structurally. I personally thought they sorted out those problems over a very long period of time. It is now clear, they have not. They are getting favorable write ups in the media, but I dont think that will last. My experience has truly been a nightmare.

I always use Hyundai Genuine Oil and Air Filters once day one and do this maintenance job myself when I purchased the car as brand new one. I tolerant this problem several months and called them again. They still tell me the same answer. I was so busy for my job and life. I cant always let them keep my car for several days to find nothing. On 04/08/2013 at 88,055 miles, I hear a belt broken sound while I am driving on I-78 and engine is completely shut down. With several light on, I can start the car at all. I give up my efforts to drive car out in that evening. I called my job off in second morning and try to start it again. It was OK and out of from the snow. I immediately drive to LV Hyundai Service Center and notice that the engine check light is solid ON while I stop at traffic. I usually dont keep these small purchase receipt for my normal life. However, I can show them my a couple of old replacement Hyundai Genuine Oil Filters in my garage. I bring two used filter and one air filter. I argue with them NO CAR should running under engine oil while my gas tank is 80% full. Your engine has a big design defect. They accepted their error but never agreed to replace the entire gear box; they just repaired it instead. By now, they have made two repairs to the gear box, and I am now having several new issues back again. They still dont agree to replace it for a new one. I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz in May 2012. In November 2012 the alternator failed. I replaced the alternator at a local garage for the sum of $489. In August 2014 I received a notice from Hyundai about a recall because the value cover was leaking oil into the alternator causing it to fail. The notice indicated that if I had previously paid for repairs the next instruction would provide instructions for reimbursement. I called the claim telephone number and they gave me a claim number and instructed me to get the vehicle checked at a dealership and then send the documentation to them. I told the dealership that I had replaced the alternator. After the repair they said the current alternator had oil in it so it had to be replaced as well. I sent all the documents to Hyundai and the reply was that.... there was no proof the first alternator was damaged by the oil leak... the recall wasnt to replace alternators and the warranty on the vehicle had expired In May 2012. This is really a slimy reply as it was their engineers (maybe US govt?) that determined there was a design problem. They have denied a legitimate claim because they found some wiggle room. This is not the mark of a company where one should buy their products. Im going to badmouth them every chance I get. If I can convince one or two people over the next several years not to buy their product they will have lost more than I had requested for reimbursement.

I bought a brand new Tucson 2016. After I drove it for less than 800 miles the Check Engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and was told a pin fell inside the engine and broke it. Dealer offered to replace the engine. Because it was a new car I refused. So, after a lengthy fight Hyundai finally agreed to give me another new Tucson. Phew... wait, I am not done yet. 2 weeks later I took delivery of the new Tucson and guess what? 1200 miles later, the car just stalled and would not start as I was driving in the middle of the highway. Now that was scary, in the middle of the highway at night! Luckily there was a state trooper nearby who was able to redirect traffic around my car while I waited for a tow truck. I had the car towed back to the dealer. After looking into it for about 2 weeks, they finally called me to tell me there was another problem with the engine and it could not be repaired. Again, Hyundai has offered to send a replacement engine. This time I refused and am currently fighting them for my money back. Consumer beware of the 2016 Tucson, they are junky.

I leased a 2021 Hyundai Kona EV from Hyundai November of last year. The vehicle has been giving me issues since, constant dashboard lights and issues with the electric vehicle system. After attempting to charge the vehicle at home, the vehicle would not charge at all. This occurred on January 28, 2022. I anticipate the issue would be due to weather and did not drive it for a few days. On February 1, 2022 I attempted to drive the vehicle and it would not pick up a charge. On the dashboard a check engine light displayed (Check Electric Vehicle System). The only charge left on my vehicle 19% of battery, roughly 58 miles of distance.I contacted the dealership and explained my issue, and they stated I would have to tow the vehicle to their location, and incur towing fees at my own expense. I then contact a dealership that was much closer, and they scheduled me for service on February 22, 2022. After dropping the vehicle off, the service advisor contacted me 9 days later and explained to me that the vehicle has an issue with the electric vehicle system. He also advised me that the electric vehicle battery must be replaced, and the time frame for replacement is 5-7 months.I contacted Hyundai Corporate and explained to them the issue. I advised them that I would like to have the vehicle purchased back from Hyundai due to its defect since the vehicle can not be repaired in a timely manner, and has a defective issue. I also explained to them that an issue with the battery concerns me, and I do not feel safe charging the vehicle at home knowing there is an issue with the battery, and there may be an issue with the replacement battery as well. The safety of myself and my family must be taken into consideration when dealing with an issue on a vehicle that is plugged into the electrical system of my home. Hyundai advised me that there is nothing they can do, and I am stuck with this vehicle. This entire situation has been an unforeseen nightmare.I am at a lost for words at the experience that I have had with Hyundai Motor America. This is a new vehicle with roughly 5,000 miles, and I am being forced by Hyundai Motor America to continue to remain in a lease for vehicle their own employees have told me could be many months to repair. Hyundai Motor America is refusing to assist me in the matter knowing that the vehicle is a lemon, under New Jersey lemon law. I highly suggest anyone reading this to rethink to do business with Hyundai Motor America.

Worthless Warranty. My 2012 Hyundai Genesis engine broke a piston rod and punched a hole in the block. I had just had the oil changed and the engine was full of oil. But because I didnt have the oil changed at a Hyundai dealership, Hyundai America claimed I didnt have any oil in the engine and denied my warranty claim. This was with 45,000 miles on the engine. Nothing I could do would change their mind. If they say no, thats it regardless of their warranty. What a lousy company!!!

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson about a year ago and was promised bells and whistles (which I knew in part werent true), but the one that appeared real was free maintenance for 3 years. To a single mom on a budget, that sounded spectacular. I even watched as the dealer and loan officer wrote down this promise multiple times, but when it came to signing my contract I did not double check to see if my free maintenance for 3 years promise had been recorded. When I called to make my regular service appointments, everything went smoothly at first. After about the third appointment, service fees started appearing and suddenly I was told by the service department that Hyundai never gives 100% free maintenance. Apparently, what was meant by my too good to be true deal was that free maintenance only means free oil changes and that is it. Everything else will cost you. Driving my Tucson is just fine, but being duped puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I step into my car. Im on the fence about buying from Hyundai again. No matter how much one tries not to get screwed over by dealers, it seems they always find another way to get you.

I bought brand new Sunday Tucson on February 3, 2018 in Keyes Hyundai Van Nuys. I drove about 2k miles when I started experiencing high noises, something like buzzing sound that was getting louder with accelerating. When first did the drive test, I was impressed how easy the car does drive, well it got worse when I started using it. Very unstable on highway, you can feel any crack on the surface you drive on, pretty loud inside. But getting to my issue, first I took it to check the tires, I was advised that it might be wheels bearing. Then took it to service, they have very odd hours and there is always empty there. They will not take you on Saturday for diagnostic either, so they did check my car and happened to be that the car transmission failed. Wow right after 2k, very unusual, anyways they got me loaner from Hertz and promised to get me the car in 3 days. I will be posting and blogging about this more. I feel I got lemon and more issues are going to happen. Very unsatisfied customer.

I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra on November 26th, 2014. The car was brand new when I purchased it. On December 23rd I noticed that my break lights would not turn off after having parked and removed the key. I was unable to get the light to turn off, but I had a trip scheduled to visit family during the holidays. I was forced to leave the car at my house in its present state. When I reached my destination on December 24th I called Hyundai (Lithia Springs) to tell them about the issues and to ask them how they wanted to handle this issue. The service representative told me to bring the car in on January 3rd. When I returned to Georgia I brought the car to Hyundai. While driving the vehicle I could smell a strong odor reminiscent of spoiled milk. When I arrived at the dealership they examined the car and initially told me that the issue was with the break clutch not depressing properly. After the technician replaced this part he returned to tell me that he was unable to correct the issue and that he suspected it to be an electrical issue. He requested that I leave the car with him so that it could be worked on and placed me in a loaner vehicle.I received a call today (January 6th, 2015) and was told that the issue had been isolated and that the car was not sealed properly and water had caused the electrical issues I was having. Mr. ** told me that the car would need to have the windshield removed, carpet removed, dried, and resealed. I expressed my concern with this and let him know that I wanted the car replaced immediately, to which he did not reply. I called back to speak with the manager Mr. **. He told me that Hyundai manufacturing would most likely not replace my brand new vehicle and that all he could do was try to fix the issues. I am truly unhappy and want my money back or a brand new car. I havent even driven this car 1,000 miles and not only am I without a car, but I am still being forced to pay for a car that was garbage when I bought it. Hyundai needs to give me my money back or replace my vehicle!

We have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata with the 2.4L 4 cyl engine. Engine made a knocking noise then locked up about 3 hours from home. Over time we had some minor issues with the car but were very happy with it overall. These included an oil leak covered under warranty, broken starter part, not covered, transmission not shifting properly, reprogram of transmission computer covered under warranty, and a broken door handle, not covered. The plastic starter part and door handle are known issues. When the engine locked up we were towed by AAA (wonderful folks!) 3 hours back home. I called the service department and was informed that there was a $101 fee to diagnose the problem. I dont work for free so I dont expect their mechanics to either. I indicated that the car was out of warranty by 2002 miles but asked that if they could do anything for me I would appreciate it. Service writer was polite but didnt give me a warm fuzzy feeling. A sales associate did offer to give us an appraisal of our dead car toward another Hyundai. Fat chance of that happening. When it was all said and done there was no offer of help from Hyundai other than to install a high mileage salvage engine for about 4 thousand dollars. I have taken the repair to a shop who I have done business with for years. I will never purchase a Hyundai of any kind again nor will I suggest the purchase of one.

My experience with Hyundai is once again worst than the last. It is my 3rd disappointment with them and last, I just came out of a 3 year lease and decided I wanted to buy the car and instead of showing me my options through Hyundai Finance which I was leasing with they convinced me with lies about how being I didnt use the car much, I would have to pay more and convinced me to go with Chase auto loan, after a few days I called Hyundai Finance and the person on the phone told me, I should have bought through them which would have been close to 8k less, through Hyundai finance it would have ranged around 9k plus maybe 3k in taxes and instead now I will end up paying close to 18k.It is my 3rd and final deal with them, no one there is honest and they are out just to rob you, I should have gone with my gut and listened to my cousin and end my lease and bought through Carvana, I wish I knew the info I got from the person on the phone earlier but I thought I was dealing with honest people, anyways God bless them and everyone reading this and make sure you always ask all the right questions and if you have to take time or reschedule to review things before you commit to it or sign documents, do so, so you dont get trapped and tricked like I did.

I have had several trips to Hyundai for the airbag light staying lit all the time. They said that there was a problem with the sensors under the drivers seat and fixed it. The problem continued, and after the third time, Hyundai said they could not cover it under warranty. Then a recall letter was sent to me, and I had it fixed at no charge. I was notified after I bought the car that all they give you is a can of spare tire. They do not even have a spare tire kit that you can buy until the end of this summer. The only thing I can buy is a new rim that fits and costs anywhere from $377.00 to $477.00, and thats without the tire. I drive a handicapped person, and this is very unacceptable, especially if something happens that cannot be fixed by spraying spare tire into it. Like I said, I was not told when I bought this car that there was no spare; or I would not have purchased it. I have dealt with Consumer Affairs at Hyundai and got no satisfaction whatsoever. I mentioned that if I was told there was no spare and I would not buy the car for that reason, they would have gone out of their way to give me one. This is very frustrating, since I cant even purchase one because there is no kit designed. I have already taken all their surveys before this was brought to my attention. But I would have told them what I really feel, if I had known. They seem to care, until you have an issue.

I purchased a Hyundai Genesis Coupe from Parkway Hyundai (Wilmington) in 2014. I was informed by the salesmen that offered me the extended warranty that I would receive coverage for 100,000 miles. Not up to 100,00 miles, but good for 100,000 miles. Huge difference, as the car had nearly 50k miles on it already when it was purchased. I made it very clear to the salesman that I needed coverage for 100k miles. I would have purchased a brand new car, not a used Hyundai with only 50k mile warranty if this had been explained to me correctly, and now the dealership is leaving me out to dry with a car that is not drivable, a higher car payment than what I would have had with a brand new car, (because the warranty is factored into it), and they are feeding me a load of BS.I do not recommend ANYONE, even my worst enemy to purchase from Parkway Hyundai, and also the salesman by the name of Mitchell was very distant to me after I purchased the car. I would drive all the way to Wilmington from out of town and stop by to get an oil change and he would give me blank stares and would not even greet me. What kind of customer service is that? To be nice to me long enough to sell me a car and then treat me like chopped liver after the deal is done. I let that slide because he is a younger guy, I am probably the first he ever sold a car to and he is probably long gone now if he treated someone else the same way, but yeah, I am done with Parkway Hyundai for good either way. They can forget me or anyone I know ever purchasing a vehicle from them ever again.

Consumers please beware when buying Hyundai car. I bought Hyundai Sonata 2011 in June 2014 and the car is a piece of crap. So far I have this car almost 2 years and I already spent tons of money fixing it. Something is always wrong with it. The electrical, the gas, the brake, the fuel line... In addition I received 3 different recalls notices that the car is not safe to drive... Really 3 recalls in less than 2 years? What the **??? I have not even driven 100,000 miles or 5 years on this car yet and have spent thousands of dollars fixing the piece of JUNK/GARBAGE. So stay clear from this brand and do your homework thorough. Dont just Google it because they paid lots of advertisements money to be on top of the search page so all you see is great things about this piece of CRAP. Instead looking at buyers comments on various websites, or ConsumerAffairs to get a real picture and its condition before you buy. Personally, they LOST me as a customer forever. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HYUNDAI AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW ABOUT THIS. Very angry Hyundai car buyer.

Although I love my car, I have to say without question, DO NOT BUY OR LEASE HYUNDAI CARS. On November 26, 2016 I leased a 2017 Hyundai and turned in my 2014 Hyundai to the local Hyundai dealer. My lease payment went up about nine dollars a month. My bank inadvertently sent the new payment to the 2014 account instead of the new 2017 car account. I received a collection call on a Sunday saying I was two weeks passed due. I paid it again on the phone and started to check out why they did not receive it. When I called Hyundai Finance approximately six weeks after turning in the 2014 they said they had the extra money but were keeping it until the 2014 car closes out. MY BANK SENT THE MONEY IN ERROR. It is now nine weeks since I turned in the car and they still have my money. I will never buy a Hyundai product again even though it is a great car and I am now on my second Hyundai. I have checked with Mission Hills Hyundai, a terrific dealer, who is trying to get Hyundai to send me my refund. They keep apologizing however I still am out the money. (ii) Air conditioning not working - The workshop says gas isnt there. (iii) Boot door doesnt stay open - The workshop says both boot struts arent working and needs to be replaced. To our surprise, the car which has not even been run for 8,000 kms has all the above failures. This shows the poor quality & workmanship of your product & it is not acceptable. We as customers buy your vehicle considering the reliability & quality of the cars. I own two Sonatas, an 03 and an 08. Originally, the airbag light came on for the 03 around 140,000 miles and it was the passenger seat sensor. I eventually just got another seat from a salvage yard. Now, my 08 light is on and it too is the passenger seat causing the problem. This seems to be an ongoing issue with Hyundai (not just the Sonata). On June 13th, I noticed a rattling when I stepped on the gas of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. By the time I got to my destination, the car was making such a horrible noise; there was no way it could be driven further. I called the Hyundai customer service number to arrange to have the car towed to the dealer and to make sure my warranty would cover the issue. I was assured that I was still covered under the 10 year 10,000 mile warranty. The following morning, the tow truck arrived and took the car to the dealer. Later that day, the dealer called me to inform me that I would need a new engine and that my warranty would not cover it. The engine would be a used one with 71,000 miles on it and would cost $5600 not including labor. Of course, I immediately called Hyundai and was told that I was misinformed the previous day and that I did not have the 100,000 mile warranty because I was the second owner. They assured me that they would cover the tow and the diagnostic charge but they would not cover a new engine. The reason I bought the car and not the Nissan Altima, which is a much nicer vehicle, was for the exceptional Hyundai warranty. I spent the next few hours on the phone with quite a few rude customer service representatives before I reached a supervisor. I stated my issue for the umpteenth time and he once again told me that despite the fact that the car is only four years old, it is not their problem as the warranty is up. So basically, Hyundai is saying that it is acceptable for a four-year old car to have a blown engine and too bad for me. I am a single mother who has recently been unemployed and I am still paying for this car. Suffice it to say that I will never buy another Hyundai again and I will certainly let everyone I know what my experience has been.

I have dealt with corporate for over a year to try and get the power of attorney to do a state to state transfer and they lied each time by saying that someone else mailed it to me to shoo me off the phone and caused me to have to get a ticket from the police due to their negligence and disorganization. I was unable to ever get a power of attorney until I called corporate several times and explained that this was a breach of contract by not sending me the necessary documents. I will never again lease from this company and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happie
I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happier with the car the first 18 months of ownership. However, in June of 2015, my cars hybrid alert came on when I put the car in park and the car locked up and would not turn back on again. I had to have it towed to Sacramento Hyundai where they kept it for the day, then gave it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Two days later it did this again and again, would not turn on. I had it towed to Roseville Hyundai because this was where the hybrid specialist worked. In the end, I ended up bringing my car to Roseville Hyundai (about 40 minutes from my house) a total of 4 times. Each time they fixed something on the car but the car was never actually fixed and would break down again 1-2 days after I got it back.During this whole time wasting process I was always put in awful stock rental cars after having to wait at numerous car rental shops after I was told by the dealership that there would be a rental waiting for me (there never was). I have had my car sitting at the dealership, untouched for over a week with no contact by the dealer while they decided (or corporate decided) what they wanted to do next. I was told time and time again that this was a one in a million occurrence, that these things NEVER happen with new Sonatas. After doing my own research on other new Hyundai owners experiences, I beg to differ. It seems like these things happen quite often with the newer Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai Motors eventually decided to stop allowing the dealership to spend any more money trying to fix my car (the dealership was not allowed to swap in a new transmission or engine). So they ended up just turning off the alerts - they didnt tell me they did this but it is quite obvious this is what happened since the car is running the exact same, power and acceleration issues, just no more hybrid alerts. Kinda suspicious. So once I got the car back this final time I began dealing with corporate which has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I talked to a live person probably a total of about 4-5 minutes throughout the whole lemon law process that began at the end of August.Leaving a message with Hyundai would result in a call back in 5-7 days. It took the representative over a week just to ASK the dealership for my repair records. And then a couple more weeks before she sent everything in to corporate while I was calling her constantly trying to get updates on the whole process, only to be ignored.. They have a certain number of days that they legally need to respond to lemon law cases and they definitely push this to the very last day. I figured driving a dangerous car that was now having issues getting onto freeways and accelerating from traffic lights would get them to respond to my concerns quicker, but they could have cared less. Once I finally received a letter. I was offered a buyback, not a replacement since this is not required by law.Hyundai only does exactly what is required of them by law (quite often they dont even go this far I have heard) so that they are able to pay as little as possible for the broken car that they sold you. This awful experience that I have been going through should require some sort of human response from the company instead of just 1 actual semi-informative voicemail from the representative (just saying that they would not be giving me a replacement vehicle) and ONE letter from corporate. This letter with the buyback deal had no actual numbers. It just stated that I would be charged some mileage fee for each mile I drove the car (that I had to research myself to figure out since no one from Hyundai actually talked to me). That they would not be reimbursing me for any money that I put into the car... So too bad you loved this car and did everything you could to keep it running properly and looking beautiful... And that I would be charged for any damage to the car. Then they asked me to sign and send it back to complete the process. How do I know what they consider damage and how much theyll charge for it? On top of that, all the extra money I put into the car would be ignored - tinted windows, 4 brand new tires I purchased just a week before all this went down, the $400 maintenance at 35K that Hyundai forces you to do so this warranty can be upheld, etc. On a more personal note Hyundai could care less about the time, energy, and work time lost in this whole process to drive the broken car back and forth to Roseville (when it was driveable) and all the time spent at rental car businesses... The mileage penalty being forced on me causes the $350/month payment to basically go towards borrowing this car for 2 years when I had wrongly assumed that I was in the process of purchasing the car and that my money was going somewhere, and now I am left with nothing. The buyback that Hyundai offered would not even cover my down payment I had made on the car, let alone the monthly payments for the past 2 years. In the end, I would love for this company to just fix my car or give me a car that actually works. My family and I have owned Hyundais for years and have loved the cars and always said nothing but good things about them. But this is our first new Hyundai and we have never had to deal with the actual company until I unfortunately purchased a lemon. The Hyundai corporation is horrid to deal with and does not care about the satisfaction of its loyal customers. I should have researched the reputation of this company before purchasing the car but naively I had faith in Americas Best Warranty to take care of me if anything should go wrong. Reading other peoples reviews on this company and how they have dealt with consumers and their warranty it seems as if this happens quite frequently. Hyundai will do everything in their power to get out of honoring their warranty and if state laws force them to do something, they will be sure to do as little as possible no matter what their loyal customer has gone through. This will definitely be the last Hyundai I ever waste my money on.

We love the appearance of our Hyundai Sonata. However, it is covered under an oil consumption recall which the dealer will not fix. Hyundais complaint department is no help other than recommending us going to another dealer. The next dealer is further away from us. We already drive too far to the current dealer for them to do the oil consumption test. Said oil consumption test involves the dealer changing the oil early due to the oil consumption. They have guidelines that say the car must use 1 quart of oil by 1,000 miles. Our car makes it barely past 1,000 miles and then hits 2 quarts low before the oil change is due.We have been advised not to add oil or get oil changed anywhere other than the dealership. Thats what we are doing. They seem to overfill the oil each time which gets us barely past that 1,000 mile guideline. We cant trust this car for trips. We cant keep driving back and forth to the dealership for them to do nothing. We will not buy another Hyundai and we will continue to warn others of our troubles.

I had problems with my vanity mirror on the passenger side, and the service
I had problems with my vanity mirror on the passenger side, and the service manager of Doral Hyundai denied service, telling me it was the consequence of the normal use of the car. In reality, Hyundai advertises 60,000 miles and 5-year bumper to bumper. My 2008 Sonata was purchased in October 2007, and the odometer shows less than 23000 miles. I called the service attendants in headquarters, and they agreed with the service manager. This is a violation of the warranty, and Hyundai is lying in advertising the ten-year warranty, especially the 5-year bumper to bumper. If this response stands, every claim for service after one year can be considered product or the proper use of the car. If a compromise is not reached, I will never again consider Hyundai an option to buy a car.

A few years ago I bought my new Hyundai Sonata. I still drive this car every day to work, love it. Unfortunately, Hyundai has no customer service when it comes to their finance company/department. After paying off my Sonata 3/24/2015, Hyundai sent the title etc. On 4/9/2015 Hyundai took $491.51 out of my bank account! My wife called and we told them to stop, which they agreed and said it would take 30 days to cut a check back to us for the amount they owed us. Again on 5/11/2015 they took out another $491.51, so this time I called. Their (800) 523-4030 customer service number is a joke. I had to talk to a supervisor who was able to tell me the first overpayment check was in the mail and that it would take another 30 days for the second overpayment check to be cut and then mailed. So, its 6/25/2015 and Im at my wits end... I believe its time for a lawsuit. I called yesterday 6/24/2015 and spoke with a supervisor ** who said he would call back and never did... the only status I received was that the check hadnt been cut and they cant seem to figure out why. Luckily after the second occurrence I contacted my bank and had them block Hyundai from messing things up further. I contacted Hyundai again today on my way to work, spoke with another supervisor who said shes escalated... took my cell number down and said shed call me back... well she never did and its 9pm.I feel that Hyundai finance lacks customer service so bad that Im now to the tipping point of never doing any more business with Hyundai motors in general. Luckily the $491.51 isnt my rent, but I know that nearly $500 is a lot of money to most families. Ive contacted the Corporate customer service who cant do anything about it because the Hyundai Motors Finance is a separate company all together... now I know why. This is the last time Ill ever finance anything without an actual bank or financial establishment, Hyundai... get your act together. Ill be suing for the interest I could have made on over 30 days of the first $491.51 and will be suing for the second $491.51 plus interest until this is settled. I hate to do it because my time is money and its an annoyance, but its my civic duty. I paid Hyundai interest when they loaned me money to purchase one of their cars, so they should pay me for interest when I loaned them money (unknowingly and without approval) until they pay me back in full. In conclusion, steer clear of Hyundai Motors Financing... they have no clue what theyre doing and have no authority to actually service their customers properly.

The car is very durable but it makes noises on transmission changes especially when the eco boost is on. The dealership I went to was great. The salesperson was very knowledgeable on the car and the process was easy. The car was everything I was looking for with a little bit of an upgrade. Some things werent clear like how to update the nav system. The touch screen is not very responsive depending on if you are the driver or the passenger. The eco really does save on gas but it makes the change even slower when speeding up or slowing down.

Having purchased a Hyundai Elantra from a private party in April 2011, I noticed that an extra portion outside of the back seat, which pops off and down like the rest of the back seat, was bent forward. At first, I thought this was just my problem (buyer beware). But then I realized how cheaply made the material was. I could see where any person with much strength could have easily bent it if the latch was stuck. The previous Hyundai Tucson 2007 I had bought from the dealer was not at all this cheaply made. I also had the extended warranty from the previous owner, so I took it to Roseville Hyundai to be looked at. They stated that since the consumer most likely bent it, it was not under warranty. Then, Robert ** (the service consultant at Roseville Hyundai) agreed that it was cheaply made and stated that the quality in Hyundai vehicles has greatly diminished since 2007 and the recession. I then called Hyundai Consumer Affairs and spoke to Allison. She said the same.

I was still willing to pay for the remote start with hopes that the app would get better. However I cant pay for it because it wont let me do it online, no one will answer my emails or my phone call! Customer service is SO bad. I have called a few times and after waiting on hold for 33 min a nice person answered but was unable to help me. I asked for a manager and was told one would call me in 2-3 hours which is annoying but whatever. I wait... no call.I call back the next day and was told Oh... it has only been about 16 hours. Wait at least 24 someone will call you. Well it is a few days later, no call. I hate calling them because it takes over 30 min to get a person on the phone and they cant help at all. Multiple emails have gone unanswered. It is a mess and my service is up. I guess they dont care about quality or customer service.

I wouldnt be writing this if I could have resolved my issue with the dealership or the district manager, but I have been given excuses that came with delaysand ultimately a denial to repair my engine after a complete failure with about 70,000 miles on the vehicle because they saw sludge in my engine. In the spring of 2010, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I am the original owner. I had been so pleased with my car that I actually convinced a friend and my sister to also buy a new Hyundai. After my engine failure on April 5, 2011, I had my Sonata towed to Glendora Hyundai in California. Today, I was informed that my repair has been denied because they found sludge in the engine. I did provide all my maintenance records but it seems that is not good enough to use my 100,000 mile warranty. It took the dealership 18 days to tell me that my repair has been denied. Of course during this time, I have been renting a car since I was also told that no loaner would be provided while they tried to resolve what to do. According to them, the decision was not to repair the car was also agreed to by the Hyundai district manager. So much for the 100,000 mile warranty that they keep touting. Dont believe it. It seems they might have covered it had all the maintenance been done at the dealership. My advice is dont buy a Hyundai. They wont honor the warranty if you have a problem.

My mother-in-law took her 2004 Hyundai Elantra with 50,000 miles to Olympia, WA to have her car serviced for her move to Georgia. The timing belt was changed, belts changed, oil and fluids changed, system flushed, etc., except for one major thing. When changing the timing belt, it is required that the water pump is replaced as well. The technician did not think that this was necessary. The vehicle broke down about 20 miles from Salina, KS, and it cost $255 for a wrecker and $455 for a trailer to transport the car to the dealership in Wichita, KS. It would have taken another $1850 - who knows what to fix the problem because the water pump that was to be replaced failed and the block is cracked because of overheating. My mother-in-law had no choice but to purchase a new car so that we can continue our journey home.

Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off
Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off on me randomly twice! First time it shut off I had to pick my toddler up from daycare that is 40 min away and they told me they will come in about an hour and half to tow my car. And they will not give me a loaner or anything to replace the vehicle while being looked at while my toddlers school closed and they are waiting for me to grab him. I kept trying to start the car in a panic and 2 hours later before the tow truck got to me the car started and I rushed to get him. The next day took the car to get looked at Paramus Hyundai service center and spent the whole day there with my baby for them to tell me my car is fine and told me I gotta go that they are closing. Meanwhile I tell them I do not feel safe driving with my baby in a car that shuts off with no warnings in middle of the road and I want a loaner and this car looked at more to find the problem. They said no and thats not their problem. Following week sure enough the car shuts off again at 8pm in middle of the road with my dogs and baby in the car and this time it never went back on. Cops stopped the traffic moved the car off road and when I called the sos they told me they cannot tow the car because the service center is closed and they cant get permission to park the car there... So we walked home from that area about a 15-20 min walk at around 10pm. I had to drag the baby back with me early morning to tow the car and sit at the service center all day with my poor son crying. And eventually that place brought me to tears, having me there all day not telling me anything until the very end of the day giving me a lot of problems about giving me a loaner car and only pulling some string and giving me a car seeing that Im stuck there with a fed up toddler. No one helping me, no one cared the first time it broke, now I do not feel safe in this car. I also want money back from the time I spent without a working car. I pay so much money for my time lost sitting on the phone and being transferred from person to person to tell me they cannot help me, calling corporate for them to transfer me from person to person for an hour me explains my issues over and over again to different people for them to tell me someone will call me that can help me in 3-5 business days!!! Are they crazy?! I dont want this car. I dont want to deal with anyone from Hyundai anymore!!! Im fed up, my family is fed up. I have never had so many problems with a car or with customer service as I do with this Hyundai Tucson limited! Im disgusted with the way I have been treated and I cannot believe Im still in this unsafe car that supposedly was fixed. A car that ** off like this after 2 months of driving it brand new is not a safe car and is not worth $466 a month! PS. There is a lot more to all this but I wanted to make it as short as possible. Bottom line me and my baby were put in unsafe position twice and no one does anything about it!

I bought a used 2010 Hyundai Accent with 31,000 miles from a Columbus used car lot. I wanted to get the car certified so that I could reinstate the 100,000/10 year powertrain warranty. I called the Hyundai corporate headquarters in Arizona, and was told by a long-time, highly experienced customer service rep that all I had to do was take the car to any Hyundai dealership, pay a fee, and they would perform the 150-point inspection required to certify me car. I made it abundantly clear that the car was not bought from a Hyundai dealership. I called four different Hyundai dealerships in Columbus/Newark, Ohio and spoke with an unparalleled collection of rude and ignorant idiots, who all provided different interpretations of the Hyundai warranty, although all sold that brand for a living. Four hours later, I received a frantic call from a young man who identified himself as a Hyundai Case Manager. Apparently he had reviewed the voice tape of my conversation with the corporate customer service rep, and was calling to tell me that the rep did not understand the pre-certification procedure, and that Hyundai could not and would not certify my vehicle. Next I called the Hyundai dealership in Heath, OH about repairing a plastic bumper cover that had already cracked in the bitter cold we have been experiencing (in my garage). I was told very rudely that the Hyundai Bumper-to-Bumper warranty does not include bumpers!! I have had the car three weeks, and this is my experience with Hyundai. By the way, this is a car that was rated at 40 miles/gallon highway in 2010 which, after testing, was shown to get 32 mpg at best. NEVER DEAL WITH HYUNDAI.

Genesis is a separate something in the Hyundai universe. When it comes to finance or services, its Hyundai. The car itself is a gem. Nothing to say about performance, comfort, and all. For the service portion of it, its a complete disaster. Worse is when ethical issues reveal themselves. Believe it or not, parts from my engine were stolen during a 5,000 miles revision in a dealers service shop, false diagnosis of broken parts with a $3,000+ estimate on something verified absolutely functional, like new, not broken at all. Verified by a Genesis engineer after a long fight with management so upsetting this was. And finally the finance department reporting a late payment to the credit bureau when it was clear the payment cleared and all was fine. This is by the way the unresolved issue. They would not budge and remove their rating so obsessed they are to find you, the customer, wrong. Over three managers at the credit customer service department saw the evidence, accepted to make the change, and this was never done. The above shows a scary behavior. Two different dealers (stolen part was my first Genesis and the rest by another dealer where I leased the second G80). Am a customer service professional and very affected by this type of story when I read or hear it from someone. When going through it by myself it is of course more painful. I demanded they take the car back and close the leasing contract at no cost for me. They refused saying it is not a Lemon law violation. Instead as they recognized with their engineer that nothing justified any repair and that it was a scam and offered 3 months break on the leasing payments. Not one word of apology. I responded that it was not about the Lemon law or any default in the car but the simple fact that I cannot trust them moving forward and want to walk away from the relationship. They could not understand that.

My wife and I just purchased a 2013 Hyundai Azera in November 2013. Since then we have had numerous complaints with the vehicle in and out of the service department. Keep in mind the dealership is 90 miles one way and a rental vehicle was only offered one time to us out of the several trips we had to make. Let me start with noise up over the driver sun visor. The service department could never find and still to this day the noise can still be heard. Two of the wheels the clear coat started to come off. They did not want to replace the wheels and by stating that it was a product we must had used on them when washing the car. Needless to say I became very angry and we did receive two new wheels after the fact. The vehicle being 8 months old with 27,000 miles one of the tires are so worn and legally should not be on the road. The other three tires are worn but not worn as bad. Tires with 27,000 miles should have more tread on them. This vehicle gets serviced and tires rotated every 3,000 miles and all services have been scheduled at the dealership where we purchased the vehicle but one. The service department at the dealership is the worst we have ever had to come in contact with. You have two people telling you two different things regarding the tire tread. Alignment was good and was told we needed to contact Hankook the tire company and this was not a Hyundai problem. Hyundai is the one that contracted Hankook to put these tires on the car so I feel this is Hyundais problem. The chrome molding around the two back passenger windows is popping off. The dealership mentioned on the service print out that both moldings were loose but is only going to replace the driver side molding. I guess the passenger side molding will be another trip to the dealership before they will replace it instead of replacing them both at the same time. You can clearly see the passenger side molding loose too. Hyundai did everything in their power to sell us this vehicle with this wonderful 100,000 mile warranty but every time you have a problem you have to cause a scene and get angry before anyone wants to do anything. The tires is the biggest issue. This is a new vehicle and nothing is getting done about it. Is this how Hyundai treats their customers? I guess more complaints have to come forward or even deaths before Hyundai does anything about this major problem. If you are reading this just be aware of all the complaints listed and should reconsider purchasing a Hyundai. I wish we had done more research before we made our purchase.
