I have a 2012 Acadia. Once again, another recall! Absolutely no reimbursement from GM for all the days spent inconvenienced. As well, we have been back 4x's to the dealer for the passenger seat sensor. Airbag light continues to come on. Don't feel safe at all in this vehicle.

2009 gmc acadia - Bought it in 2012 with 45000 miles. Transmission plate replaced at dealer under warranty at 66000. Transmission failed AGAIN 11/20/2014. 105000 miles. Replaced AGAIN at dealer. $3000. Split in thirds by dealer, GMC and us. Just got it back 12/10/2014. Front end vibrates now. Heat mode door ($466) replaced at dealer 11/2014. 24 hours later, heat didn't work on passenger side or defroster. Replaced heat actuator a week and half later, 11/19/2014 ($288). 24 hours later, transmission died an hour from home. Fixed as described above 12/10/2014 ($1063). Now have vibration in front end since picking it up. Have appointment 12/16/2014 at dealer. Also replaced power steering pump (early 2014), throttle position sensor (early 2014). Have had it with the GMC dealer and GMC. Stand behind your product!

Bought a 2008 Acadia SLT FWD used from a GMC dealer. Ironically, about the same time as two of our friends. So far, it has been a complete disaster. The worst car we have ever owned and our friends have had a never ending list of similar issues. It started with the little knobs in the car just falling off. The first to go was the lumbar support knob on the driver's seat. Then the airbag light comes on and off for no reason. The reverse parking system consistently flashes a message that it needs servicing so we have shut it off at about 60,000 miles. Beware: this car is heavy and it eats tires, rotors and brakes. We are at 98,000 miles and have had 3 sets of tires, new rotors and new brakes. To top that off, the struts and shocks needed replacing at about 90,000 miles. At 98,000 miles (today), we are being told we need $5,300 in repairs to the car for a water pump, transmission (please look on the internet for this before you buy. Their transmissions are terrible and shift poorly), and engine rebuild. Overall outside of oil changes, we will have spent over $8,000 in repairs on a car we have driven just at 60,000 miles which is horrible. The gas mileage on these is not great, we get just about 16.5 miles per gallon on this car. Did I mention the sunroof leaks more than the Titanic during the rain. It just pours in at the driver's sun visor. Bring a towel on a rainy day. If you think this is unique, think again. You can search Acadia leaky sunroofs and there are tons and tons of them. If anyone thinks I am exaggerating, just do some basic searching on the problems I have listed, they are common. There are a ton of service bulletins out on these cars for all kinds of "issues". Again, do not buy one of these. I repeat: do not buy this car. Did I mention the air conditioning will just shut off for no apparent reason? Ours does.

GMC Acadia - Good morning! My husband and I purchased this vehicle in 2007 and it caught on fire within the month. Then, again the same thing happened, and then they had to replace something, and something else, and something else. I met with the area person in charge of working out these issues who gave me coverage until next June, and now again I am experiencing another problem. The ignition won’t turn all the way to allow the key to come out. Please do not get me wrong, the employees are very wonderful, but wonderful will not solve my problem. Please, how can you help me? I purchased my 2009 GMC Acadia from the dealer 15 mos ago. There was no problems until my headlights started flickering. I carried to the dealership to find out my HID lights have melted the casing so I had to get a headlight assembly that which cost $1373.04. They said that it was not covered under the warranty. It should've been electrical. Why? It's HID lights get hot enough to melt the casing. There should be a recall on those.

For the past 3 months my check engine light continues to come on. I have had a complete tune up, with all spark plugs being replaced, air filters replaced, etc. Always keep levels checked and changed when needed. No real problems with the vehicle (2011 GMC Acadia) until now. Check engine light comes on repeatedly, even after work is completed. I have taken this vehicle to 3 shops for a diagnostic check. Only two had the same diagnostic results. Mostly timing chain issues, possible stretched. I don't understand why this is happening at this point. Has there been any recalls regarding this matter. I haven't seen or heard of any recall.

Apparently the "wave plate" in the transmission of these cars, as well as some other GMC autos, is defective. My transmission started "flaring" when it was trying to shift from 1st to 2nd, and again from second to third. It also whined noticeably when I was stopped. I had to replace it with a re-manufactured transmission. I had 110,000 miles on it so it was out of warranty. GM reduced the price by 20% but it still cost me about $3600. Many people are experiencing this problem and many are under 100,000 miles. I feel that GMC should have a fix for this issue. A "recall" would be the right thing to do. So do it.

I have thought many times of trading this vehicle in because of all of the problems it's had, but love the look of it! I should have traded because it might look good but it has been trouble literally since the very first day I brought it home and had to put it in the shop! My family is Chevy/GM all the way.... But that is fixing to change! The first night I brought it home, it had approx. 55,000 miles on it. When I came out the next morning, a huge puddle of anti-freeze was running out underneath it and the check engine light came on. It has had a couple of recalls, which I appreciated! After that, the suspension broke when they put the vehicle on the ramp for service.My StabiliTrak has had issues several different times! Around 90,000 miles, my transmission messed up, a local service repairman whom I trust stated that the teeth had ground off of the disc in the transmission and even showed it to me..... This was a very rare thing in vehicles abroad. He replaced that part, stating the transmission looked okay, and he had to get permission from GM to change out the whole transmission and GM didn't like to do that. It was under warranty through 104,000 miles. Now at 108,500 miles my transmission is messing up again. 5 months ago, I turned right into a parking lot from a very busy street with cars behind me. When I did, the car wouldn't turn and cut off! I put it in park and re-cranked it and it was okay. I still took it to the dealership since it was still under warranty, and they fixed something with the steering column and said it was low on steering fluid. Call it luck or whatever you wish, but I shouldn't even be alive to tell this story! There is an obvious need for recalls on the steering and transmission! GMC..... PLEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE WHO TAKE CARE OF YOU! WITHOUT US AND OUR PASSION FOR YOUR BRAND, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE A BRAND! That isn't a threat, it's common sense.

2007/2008 GMC Acadia needs to have its transmission recalled. Like everyone else out there with the early year Acadia and GM clone cars I now have a completely useless transmission. If you haven't had issues with yours you soon will. GM customer care is there to listen and then to respond with there is nothing that they are willing to do. The reason for the wave plates breaking is GM's failure to harden the wave plates used within the transmission. An issue they corrected for the 2009 model. After calling around to numerous shops I have been quoted anything from $4200 to $5700 at the dealer. One shop owner told me it's his favorite transmission, because it's the one that pays his bills. Like I started I cannot believe this has not been recalled, if anyone knows about a class action lawsuit against GM for this issue or would like to pursue one I would be all ears.

I am furious! My husband and I have a 2007 Acadia and within the past three months, due to extensive rainfall, the car has become completely non-functional. Why in the world has there not been a recall or lawsuit involving the fact that these cars leak water into the electrical system? First the AC stopped working in the back (temporary). Then the AMP completely blew out - no radio, no turn signal sound. When my husband looked it up online, he discovered what MANY people have encountered... the two (driver and passenger) electrical door connections were FULL OF WATER! Then today!!!!! I put my car in park and pulled the keys from the ignition and the engine continued to run for two minutes (By the sound of it, I truly thought I was hearing my Dad's 1976 El Camino)... It then stuttered and died!!!!!! Now battery is dead because something under the hood has continued running despite the car's idle state. Warranty gone! Electrical system was repaired by previous owners after 2008 recall. SOOO Frustrated!!!!! How much money am I looking at here?
