GMC Announces New Launch Package For Hummer EV3X

GMC is offering a new launch package for the Hummer EV, set to increase demand for this competent off-roader even further.

rnGM already has big plans to entice people into buying EV cars, and one of its most convincing cars yet, the GMC Hummer Pickup, has been able to draw massive attention and rack up thousands of orders and an extremely long waiting list. GMC even had to stop reservations in September to catch up.

The EV Hummer Pickup was first offered in the range-topping Edition 1 trim, which has sold out, and now the EV3X trim has taken over as the halo model. According to GM Authority, this particular trim will be available with a 3X Launch Package adding several off-road, design, and luxury features. GMC has yet to announce the price of the new package, but we know that it bundles the Extreme Off-Road Package with many other features.

The Extreme Off-Road package includes hardcore accessories and features such as a set of 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory mud terrain tires, 18-inch black aluminum wheels, front and rear e-lockers, ball-spline half shafts, skid plates, and rocker protectors, which allow the Hummer EV to go places where few others can.

The 3X Launch Package includes forward and rear underbody cameras, black rear D-ring recovery hooks, a rugged power retractable tonneau cover, a premium Kicker sound system, a sky panel storage set, and an under-seat organizer and i-bar storage system. The GMC Hummer EV Pickup entered production late last year and rides on GM's electric BT1 platform. The base model, the EV2, features dual electric motors producing 625 horsepower. It has a maximum range of 250 miles, while the EV2X can do 300 miles.

The highly sought-after Edition 1 gets a tri-motor setup with 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. The Edition 1 can sprint to 60 mph in an astonishing three seconds and can tow 7,500 pounds.

Finally, the EV3X model features an 830 hp powertrain and a range of 350 miles. GMC is still battling to keep up with demand, and while new packages are always welcomed, they're of little use if we can't get our hands on the vehicle itself.

We have had multiple problems with our 2008 GMC Acadia. The one that we will be bringing it in for for the 3rd time is a leaky sunroof. In hard rains, it leaks internally leaving us with a very soaked passenger side floor and electrical issues - the first time the car wouldnt shut off even after removing the key. Ive researched this and have found multiple complaints from this model year and others. The dealership claims its not a manufacturers problem. The first time I brought it in and told them the issue (leaking sunroof), they claimed the water was coming up from underneath the car. I went to pick it up on a day with heavy rain. Before leaving the dealership, I tried turning it off and it continued to run even with the key removed - service person was very embarrassed especially after I told him the issue and they said I was wrong. Took it in again with the same problems and they said the sunroof drain was clogged. That was last fall. Today we had a hard rain. The floor is soaked again. My biggest complaint is the dealership/manufacturer not owning up to the problem. As I said, there are numerous blogs with the same complaints, but they wont own up to it. I hate even looking at them, i.e., dealership, any more.

Bought a new 2014 Acadia Denali - almost $60K. After 8 months, the driver’s seat started making a Clicking noise when I shifted my weight slightly. It was loud and often enough that passengers asked what that noise was. Called the dealer I bought it from, but they were booked up for a week. Took it to another dealer and explained the problem. He said it was the seat tracks and that it was a very common complaint. He could replace the tracks, but that I would be back in three months with the same complaint. Since it was a warranty issue, I told him to order several sets because I would expect them to be replaced. He told me that he would only replace them once, and that I should go back to the dealer that I bought the truck from as he was not about to use up his warranty allocation on me. GM does everything in their power to sell you a vehicle. However, they fall short on support and service. After owning 3 GM vehicles in the past, this will be my last GM product.

My wife and I bought our GMC Acadia new in 2011 and we have put more money into this vehicle than our Dodge truck we bought 15 years ago. First the struts were blown out the third year we owned it and also a stabilizer bar and most recently the throttle sensor went bad and so the entire throttle body needed to be replaced and also some reprogramming supposedly. Not impressed with this GMC - could be the last one we ever own. Oh and of course the later fix gmc weasled around the warranty knowing which parts are junk and how to get around covering junk parts.

The GMC Acadia had placed us in catastrophic danger as the engine shut down while we were driving at 65 miles per hour on the L.I.Expressway (New York) in the late evening. However, we luckily--by the grace of God--was able to verve (steer) off the HOV lane without being injured to the shoulder lane. Many passing cars recognized our emergency situation and provided space for us to move from the HOV lane. We were stranded for about 2 hours in the late evening waiting for a tow truck. The next day, we had the car diagnosed & serviced. The technician informed us that cylinders 3 &5 were misfiring. The coil pack was blown. The water seeped in the engine and battery areas. The electrical system was comprised by the water seeping in through the front windows and front hood.In addition, the Bose stereo, navigation system, back up camera were comprised by the electrical system problem. The repairs will cost approximately $5,000 to $8,000!! This is appalling & disgusting. The warranty has ended and the repair costs are beyond our means. We are demanding GMC to buyback these LEMON GMC Acadias, as it obviously has many design flaws &mechanical flaws. SHAME ON GMC to expect consumers to continually be disrespected by design & manufacturing mistakes.

This also happens when on an incline too. Plus, long period to wait for transmission to change from one gear to the next, such as from park to reverse and reverse to drive. After the water pump had been replaced, cars frame is noticeably creaking when going around corners/turns.

The power steering pump went and now the car has shut down twice on busy highway. The GM dealer tells me because of low oil, after he just serviced the vehicle less than 3 weeks prior. A car shuts down because of low oil?? No oil light, no warning. We did receive a $180 bill for checking the oil and topping up. I threw the bill in the managers face. Seriously Dangerous that we plan a class action suit on GM for allowing and knowing such a dangerous activity to occur and risking an accident. This car has been to the shop so many times, they all know me by name. Ignition coils all failed, and failed again, timing chain stretched (and now the transmission).. I also have an engine light on with an exhaust system problem. It goes on and on. I once loved this vehicle, but it has turned into the BIGGEST MISTAKE I have ever made in a car purchase. I can honestly say that after having 3 other cars purchased new, this has been the most troublesome piece of junk of all. I am so disappointed, especially after reading all of the complaints and problems here. I would NEVER EVER endorse the purchase of this vehicle. I am waiting patiently for the day I get rid of it--and will likely get nothing much in trade--theyre on to you GM.

Since making the repair the engine continues to surge to 4000 RPMs from time to time under certain driving conditions as the transmission struggles to keep up. Problems with the car also includes numerous recalls, driver seat coming loose, and the front AC evaporator unit failed. After the GM warranty expired and weeks after replacing the front AC evaporator unit the rear AC evaporator and power steering failed. I can no longer afford the car and I believe that GMs product quality became poor after the GM bankruptcy and when GM became known as Government Motors.

I do not believe its the dealers fault but a factory defect or poor design. The service manager said he sees several a week come through with this issue. I tried to work with a GMC Factory rep; no help at all and blames the Stubby antenna that had always been removed before washing. My 4th GMC, but more than likely my last since they dont stand behind their products or dealerships. The dealership will cover 1/2 the cost of repairs, which is almost $500.

In addition to that...there have been so many other issues (tranny has been taken apart and rebuilt twice). GMC offers coverage up to 120k miles on the chain, but I wasnt aware of that when I took it to my shop. Now they wont even help cover any of the costs when I provide full, detailed, back up. I love the car when its running, but Id suggest to stay away from Acadia. Theyre really garbage.

I was taking the Acadia on Oct 22/16 over to my mechanics to have him check the urgency of repair needed for the power steering seals (they are bleeding which seems to be a very common problem for the Acadia). Upon driving the mere 4 miles to his business the vehicle started accelerating on its own. On a level surface it was actually increasing speed and required constant braking to maintain speed. Upon putting the car in park it was revving high.My mechanic tried connecting to the computer which gave no error message, disconnected the throttle body to confirm there was no debris or anything to cause spontaneous acceleration. He also disconnected the battery and reset the vehicles computer which had no effect. I submitted an online ticket to GM Canada on Oct 23/16 to bring to the companys attention the issue. Ive been contacted twice by phone to give the VIN number (provided to them on the online ticket Oct 23, left a voice mail to the case worker Oct 26 and again to a customer service rep Nov 3).My mechanic has identified the issue as being the throttle pedal sensor and seems to have successfully fixed the glitch however has warned me that since it has gone at such low mileage is highly likely to fail again. Im concerned to take it for long distance trips as this is the third issue thats occurred with this vehicle and is likely to happen again. To date weve had to fix the front sprayer for the windshield and we have the expensive fix for the power steering rack and pistons upcoming. Im severely disappointed that a car with such low mileage has such issues and am worried what future issues are upcoming. That said my mother enjoys how it handles and is everything she wants with a SUV. I just wish it had less problems.

Cause: fuel block connector. Locate misfire on 3 cylinders. No power at injectors 2, 4, 6. Replace cat converter, replaced other cat converter, Intermittent misfire under hard accel on #2 cyl. Leaking #2 coil and fouled #2 spark plug. Premature timing chain, Timing chain slippage, Reported problems with cylinder #4. At this point seems all cylinders/spark plugs have been rotated, replaced. Would like to go 6 months + without recurring problems.

General Motors executives should have their family members drive this piece of crap and experience what the rest of the Acadia owners experience: Timing chains replaced at 40,000 miles, Steering assembly replaced at 55,000 miles, transmission failure at 120,000 mile, wiring harness fire, and now the transmission failure again at 173,000 miles. While the timing chains and the first transmission were repaired at GMs dollar (goodwill), they called it even though they had a recall on the transmission after mine was repaired. They now want $1620 to repair a fouled solenoid valve in the transmission. Its fouled with oil, in a closed system, that while it could have been caused from when they repaired the transmission the first time, they state the high mileage is the cause??? Its a Closed System; they repaired and fouled ports in a solenoid valve. This is another reason I will not in my lifetime buy any General Motors product again. They do not stand behind their products, let alone have family members drive them.

You need to hire well qualified, trained & reliable staff and/or business partners. This was unprofessional & deceiving to the consumer. My complaints will be recorded with the BBB, Consumer Affairs & Federal Trade Commission. The consumer shouldnt have to go thru this nightmare. If you cant do the job then say that you cant do it. Be honest for once. Word of advise to ALL reading this: DO NOT CALL for GMC roadside assistance - no one will come to help you. Call your insurance company and use their roadside assistance - it FREE and they helped me in 30 min. Hope things will change.

I took my Acadia in the GMC dealer in Merced, CA. They quoted me an outrageous amount of $1,800.00+ to have it fixed. It is out of warranty and I did not have the funds to pay for the work/parts. Now my A/C has went out. I took it in to a local radiator shop and they informed me it was caused by the power steering line making contact with the A/C line and has caused a hole in it. The part for the A/C line is over $700.00. I am at a loss here and have nowhere else to turn to for help on this vehicle. As it stands now, I am currently out of an A/C that was caused by the power steering line. As I understand by reviewing many forums, this is a known issue that many of GMC Acadias have had. Desperately seeking assistance on this from GMC.

I should have traded because it might look good but it has been trouble literally since the very first day I brought it home and had to put it in the shop! My family is Chevy/GM all the way.... But that is fixing to change! The first night I brought it home, it had approx. 55,000 miles on it. When I came out the next morning, a huge puddle of anti-freeze was running out underneath it and the check engine light came on. It has had a couple of recalls, which I appreciated! After that, the suspension broke when they put the vehicle on the ramp for service.My StabiliTrak has had issues several different times! Around 90,000 miles, my transmission messed up, a local service repairman whom I trust stated that the teeth had ground off of the disc in the transmission and even showed it to me..... This was a very rare thing in vehicles abroad. He replaced that part, stating the transmission looked okay, and he had to get permission from GM to change out the whole transmission and GM didnt like to do that. It was under warranty through 104,000 miles. Now at 108,500 miles my transmission is messing up again. 5 months ago, I turned right into a parking lot from a very busy street with cars behind me. When I did, the car wouldnt turn and cut off! I put it in park and re-cranked it and it was okay. I still took it to the dealership since it was still under warranty, and they fixed something with the steering column and said it was low on steering fluid. Call it luck or whatever you wish, but I shouldnt even be alive to tell this story! There is an obvious need for recalls on the steering and transmission! GMC..... PLEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE WHO TAKE CARE OF YOU! WITHOUT US AND OUR PASSION FOR YOUR BRAND, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE A BRAND! That isnt a threat, its common sense.

The sunroof issue was under warranty and first dealer wasnt going to do anything until I contacted GM. Their solution was to blow out drain tubes every oil change. It clogs quickly so I am running back to dealer and got sick of it and sealed sunroof off. All other problems after the warranty, from 2 months out and on. No more. GM. Poor quality engineering.

They said it wasnt related to my flooded vehicle, so if it is not, then there must be a problem with the amps. In order to get these problems added to a recall we need everyone with the same problem to call GMC customer relation at 1-800-462-8782. I have worked for general motors for over 30 years. I pride myself on customer satisfaction. The only way to get recalls is for people to call and get a case number. Be persistent. Thanks.

From a loyal GM household that has bought 13 new GM vehicles in 25 years, I am fed up and looking for a new manufacturer that cares about their customer. My 2009 GMC Acadia SLT1 has had nothing but problems since the warranty expired. The transmission went out literally on a trip when I rolled past 100,00 miles and stopped for gas. Had it diagnosed at a trusted independent shop and was told I need a new transmission. Called GM Customer Care and elevated the case and was told I was 3-4 months past the 5 year warranty. Needed a GM diagnosis. After 3 days of frustration, I called the service manager at my GMC dealership. He told me this is a known problem on early the year build, wave plate disintegrates causing havoc. Said it would be two weeks before they could look at it since they had several others ahead of me, then another week or two for the repair. GM would only consider helping on the repair after the work is completed and would at best kick in 20-25% based on their experience. Could be as high as $4500. I could not wait and had my independent guy replace the transmission at $3300, a discount of $200.This was soon after I had to replace struts. Then I get a low pressure, stop engine warning. Had it towed and could not find cause or repeat. Now the A/C is out and cause cannot be determined in leak test. Dealer guess is that based on odor coming out of vents, it is likely the evaporator, an estimated $1600 repair. Vehicle has 108,000 miles, is garage kept and well maintained.After this, plus having the timing chain replaced (under warranty) and numerous recalls, I have lost confidence and wanted to trade it in. The dealer low balled the trade offer because of the A/C. I called GM again looking for some sort of loyalty goodwill. In over two weeks, after elevating to a senior customer care rep, all I have gotten is broken promises on call backs, repeated inquiries to repeat my story. Last promise was I would hear back same day or in 24 hours (last week). Nearly a week has passed and I am left assuming they hope I will just go away.Looks like I will be going away....to another OEM. Loyalty built GM, treatment like this and faulty products will continue the decades long slide in market share. I cannot recommended GM to my children or their friends. Who will be their customer of the future? GM makes great big SUVs and Trucks...all else is a roll of the the dice. 25 years and out....later GM. Should be a class action suit on the transmission. AC problem is a common problem, too, I am told. Time to test the New GM, and leaderships claim of new transparency.

I purchased my 2014 GMC Acadia Denali from Dutton Buick from Riverside CA. I traveled to purchase my car because I was unable to find exactly what I was looking for in my hometown. I drove 5 hours from my hometown. This car is a certified pre-owned car and purchased from an actual GMC Dealer so I thought I was making a wise decision and would run into any issues. I purchased my car and drove home. I was in the shop 2 days later. The motor in the A/C blew out. I thought, no problem, I would have no issues having it repaired since it a certified pre-owned car. I get the dealer in my hometown Fresno Buick and GMC dealer only to find out my car was never registered as a certified pre-owned car.So I had to go through the process and a few days without a car with A/C in 95 degree heat. Since then I have been in the shop month after month with issues with the car, 12 times to be exact. This car has been a headache since day one, literally. From motor mounts, control arms, bushings, electrical issues and a banging noise under the driver floor and a clank when I turn my wheel to make a U-turn which I have been told that its normal for these cars. I have finally decided to do some research about purchasing a Lemon Car and found GMC Lemon Law. I opened my case June 5, 2018. It has been about a month and a half and I have not seen any progress with my case. Laura (not sure of her last name) has been the one to handle my case. I called her twice before she finally called me back 3 weeks after I filed my case. She said she was sorry but has had a hectic few weeks. Which meant she had not even started my case. I contacted GMC Fresno and MaryAnn (the office assistant) showed me that she first contacted them on June 20th. 15 days after I opened my case. Since then Laura has called back and will return calls when I do call but basically to tell me that there is no progress. She is extremely rude, she cuts me off and will not let me complete my sentences, she raises her voice at me and states that there is nothing more to tell me and have a good day Mrs. **, have a good day and hangs up on me. She repeatedly tell me that it is not an overnight process. I completely understand that it is not an overnight process nor did I expect that but It has been 6 weeks and still has no new information for me. No one can tell me what stage or place in line I am. I ask to speak to a manager and she says she cannot transfer me but will put in a request, then she stated she did not because she called me back and apologized (so she knew she was being rude) so I assume she thought that I was fine with her horrible attitude. She has reacted this way twice and I am not going to allow that. I am not asking for a lot when I ask for an approx time for my case to be evaluated.I think I have been very patient with GMC as far as the hassles and inconvenience I have had to endure since purchasing my car from a GMC Dealer and was told it was a pre-owned certified vehicle. This car has been a hassle and in the shop on monthly basis since I purchased it, literally the next day after I purchased it. GMC should be ashamed that a person has to turn to GMC Lemon Law in the first place and then has associates such as Laura working for them. Also, I have tried to have this handled with the GMC dealer that I purchased it from which was Dutton Buick and GMC dealer in Riverside California. Alexa, their shop manager told me to drive it to them and they would look at it for $159.I explained to her that I live 5 hours away and all the stress and cost Ive already had put into this car because it was not inspected properly and she basically told me, the cost of the inspection was my responsibility and It was up to me if I wanted to drive it there. I have suffered enough with this car and now the suffering and unsatisfactory continues with the people they choose to hire. I cant express how much I am dissatisfied with GMC and how they treat their customers. I am requesting my case worker be changed, I do not want to speak to Laura again, she is unprofessional and rude and should not be working in customer service if she cannot handle frustrated customers, basically she cannot handle her job.I have requested twice for her to connect me with her manager and I have not yet received a phone call. I have also called in and requested a manager call me back through the customer service line and still have not received a phone call from anyone. My next step will be a lawyer and contacting the Automotive Bureau. I strongly, strongly would not recommend this company to anyone.

We loved the midsize look and feel and with the captains chairs in the middle, it allowed our third child, not in a carseat, to get to the back row nicely. So this vehicle is very nice for its practicality and spacious feel for all riders given its smaller size.So the bad news. One recall after another after another. I cant complain too much about that, as long as they get it right. What I am angry about is that there is a transmission problem throughout the company. GM mechanics know this. They know the solenoids are crap, but keep putting junk in their vehicles so that we the consumer has to pay an arm and a leg to get a $65 piece replaced because it requires taking the whole engine out. This happened once at 65k miles, and I thought, well, I guess this happens because that is what the mechanic said. But now it is happening again one year later, a different coil this time. I refuse to keep paying for this is. This is a known issue and the company is doing nothing about it.If I have to, I will do something about it. I will go back to buying Mitsubishi and Audi like I have in the past. Never had any solenoid coil problems with those cars. Never had any customer service problems either. As a matter of fact, Audi has stood by their products even out of warranty because they felt bad about a water pump that went bad. Lets see if GM steps up and takes care of those that took care of them in their darkest moment.

Just over 30,000 it was burning oil excessively and the dealership could not figure it out. Numerous times at shop and still no fix. By the time we got to 70,000 GM had to re-ring the engine and replace the major of other sensors and components. I have probably spent over $3,000 in additional costs that were not covered by the GM Warranty or the GM extended warranty we purchased when buying the Acadia. Its Amazing how convenient it was that every problem we had was not covered by the extended warranty. Regardless the engine is a problem GM cannot figure it out. Google GM Acadia engine problems and you will have hours of reading in front of you. All with a common theme, the engine is a complete piece of garbage that you will be lucky to get 100,000 out of... Most of them seize around 50,000 to 70,000 and GM will NOT cover the repair under warranty. They simply will not take ownership to this problem so do yourself a favor and avoid this headache completely. This is my 4th GMC and without a doubt my last. I will never buy another GM Product for rest of my life which hurts me to write because I have 3 kids I have been preaching Buy American to all their lives. Now that my wife and I are buying the kids the first cars, it will greatly reduce the dealerships we have to look at. I have to clarify that the reason I will never buy a GM product again has very little to do with the Acadia I own. It has to do with the entire fleet and the fact that GM knows its an inherent problem with this Engine but wont take ownership. My engine that has been burning engine since 30,000 needs new heads and valves due to wear from lack of oil, a problem I pointed out in the first 2 years. GM does not think its their problem and they offered me $3000 towards a new car. My car is 4 years old and they want me to trash it. If that is GM customer loyalty, then I need to find a new manufacturer of automobiles. Save yourself the countless trips to the service dept because this vehicle is a problem child that burns oil and your hard earned dollars.

We have 5 kids, three of which are teens. They require a lot of space for all of their activities and this car provides me with the space to fit everything. We also travel a great deal so space is important. A couple of the accessories pop out every now and again so that could be better. One of the air vents falls down occasionally, as well as one of the rivets on the headrest, but they pop back in. Other than that, we have put a ton of miles on the car and the only problem we have had is that we need to change the tires.

I also had to replace the complete front suspension with the lower control arms and engine mounts. Now I am also getting a warning that I have a bad catalytic converter. Not to forget to mention that I had to replace the hydraulics for both the trunk and the hood, and what kind of car has the battery behind the passenger seat? Not to mention that the engine compartment is too congested and you cant even see the accessory belt in order to know if it needs replacing. My advice is never to buy an Acadia. I think total cost of repairs so far is about $10,000 and it only is driven 75,000 miles so far.

However, last Tuesday, 2nd of October, I was driving my car when the engine switched off again without any sign. I would assure you that it’s only my good luck that I wasn’t driving my car on high speed and I luckily handled the situation in both incidents. I really lost the trust in my car which I directly bought from GMC and did all the services through your service centers. Mr. ** (the service manager) assured me that he will personally take care of my car problem and he will call me back, which he didn’t. And till now, nobody called me and all I got are false promises.

We would shut it off and let it sit and try it again, sometimes it would work sometimes wait and do it again. The wipers wouldnt work, the gauges would dance while driving or not work at all, the stereo would work off and on. While turning at speeds 50mph and above turning right only, it would start bouncing side to side only at a certain point of the turn. This would make you feel as if you were going to lose control. In the last couple days it would have power but when you try to start it nothing happens. We had a leak running under the dash into the heater fan. We was told it is leaking from the body above the windshield. We have taken to the shop many times and only repaired the fan motor to the heater. Loved gmc vehicles but think I will never do this again. GMC has left us needing a bailout of this pile they are willing to leave everyone with. They really should consider fixing their problem!

Because of the catalytic converter and engine design, buildup from the fuel caused the cat to go and burned up a couple of coils on the engine. We also have a steering wheel issue. The mechanism could go at any time. We keep losing oil on that because of a broken gasket. Because of the way its designed instead of just replacing that one small part we have to replace the whole thing, $1100. Luckily the dealership did us a good turn and replaced the cat for free even though it was not warrantied and paid for our car to be towed since it could not be driven there. We paid for labor and other maintenance replacements. Between the two car repairs we spent about $1400.I didnt leave feeling very confident that this wouldnt happen again. I was told to only put Chevron gas in the car, mid grade or higher. I would even go so far as to put fuel cleaner (highest quality they make) in with a new tank of gas for extra insurance now and then. I would also recommend before 30,000 miles or before 60,000 miles, that you get your transmission flushed. They have a program that will give you $2000 or $1000 towards a new transmission should it go out if you are good about maintaining your vehicle. Its like a maintenance reward program.The dealership repair guys were great. Although I am very disappointed in a $40,000 vehicle that would cost us this much before 60,000 miles. We never had these troubles with our Subaru or Nissan. Our car still doesnt run great and we still need to put more money for repairs into it. If GMC would put more effort into improving their mechanical end, their products would be awesome. I wont buy another GMC though. Just not worth it for all the repair costs and hassle involved in breakdowns.

It is scary because the cost is astronomical to repair if this is electrical problems. Also the car had problems with it. Was water running from somewhere onto my feet after a rain, which I know there were other people who complained of this as well. Theres no recall for it but other comments states that it has cause some damage to the electrical wiring. I read this in other reviews, I can not afford this cost, Acadia 2013 owners. But of course with all this going on theres no recalls on any of the issues that I have with this vehicle. How frustrating!!!

The worst car we have ever owned and our friends have had a never ending list of similar issues. It started with the little knobs in the car just falling off. The first to go was the lumbar support knob on the drivers seat. Then the airbag light comes on and off for no reason. The reverse parking system consistently flashes a message that it needs servicing so we have shut it off at about 60,000 miles. Beware: this car is heavy and it eats tires, rotors and brakes. We are at 98,000 miles and have had 3 sets of tires, new rotors and new brakes. To top that off, the struts and shocks needed replacing at about 90,000 miles. At 98,000 miles (today), we are being told we need $5,300 in repairs to the car for a water pump, transmission (please look on the internet for this before you buy. Their transmissions are terrible and shift poorly), and engine rebuild. Overall outside of oil changes, we will have spent over $8,000 in repairs on a car we have driven just at 60,000 miles which is horrible. The gas mileage on these is not great, we get just about 16.5 miles per gallon on this car. Did I mention the sunroof leaks more than the Titanic during the rain. It just pours in at the drivers sun visor. Bring a towel on a rainy day. If you think this is unique, think again. You can search Acadia leaky sunroofs and there are tons and tons of them. If anyone thinks I am exaggerating, just do some basic searching on the problems I have listed, they are common. There are a ton of service bulletins out on these cars for all kinds of issues. Again, do not buy one of these. I repeat: do not buy this car. Did I mention the air conditioning will just shut off for no apparent reason? Ours does.

Then when I did bring it to the dealer to get new timing chain they told me the next day that it had camshaft engine failure and it would cost me $8,800 to fix it.I still owe 11,500 on it and trade in is $9,500. Ran fine when I brought it in and now does not run at all. Contacted GMC and they were very in telling me they would not honor the warranty that ran out a few months ago even though the engine and chain failure was well within warranty. GMC and the dealer agreed to discount the engine to $6,400 but that only puts the price were it should have been in the first place. Found some records at the dealers that says engine went in 2013 with 2,600 miles on it too.That for sure means GMC is well aware of this engine chain and camshaft problem but refuses to acknowledge it or take responsibility for it and that BUCK STOPS HERE... Small claims court here we come... Sorry for all you others out there that purchased a GMC product as they were a great company 15 years ago until they decide to go the route of Ford in 1975. Just bad trucks and customer service until they almost went out of business.

Then the transmission went, and it’s been all downhill since then (I do make it noted that the transmission was covered under the original warranty THANKFULLY, but did have problems within hours of getting it back). Every alert light and alarm went off for about 2 minutes (happened while on VERY busy highway). Took it back to the dealer and was told that it was probably still went from the power wash?? So it sat there for 2 more days. Then within 6 months, it was leaking transmission fluid, took it back to the dealer and was told that a gasket was bad. It got taken apart again, and this time my extended warranty covered that with only a $100.00 out of my pocket. Since then I have done my oil changes, taken it in for recalls and all of this is still wrong: This is a list of things that I have currently wrong with my Acadia. 1. Rear window wiper doesn’t turn off. (Don’t use it anymore because of this) 2. Passenger seat warmer light on control panel stays on but seat warmer isnt on. 3. Passenger window (at times) wouldnt go down (at first), but when I would turn off the car, and come back later it would work. Now, it wont go down at all. 4. Back windows are starting to have the same problems as the front passenger side window (I leave them up now and have the air on). 5. Lights on dashboard dim and brighten on their own at any time. 6. While driving all gages, lights, radio, and anything electrical turned off, but CAR STAYED DRIVING. Pulled over shut car off and waited 5 minutes and turned it back on, and everything went back to normal (This has happened 2x so far). 7. Access port for MP3/IPod works on and off, cutting music in and out (I have bought 4 new cords and this happens to them all and the latest one is only 1 month old). 8. Back alert lights and beep stop working on and off. 9. Struts are leaking since transmission was fixed, and didnt before I had that done. 10. When done filling car up with gas, it wont start. It takes SEVERAL tries to get it going.11. Tire sensor went and leaked all the air out of my tire (I got a flat tire and lucky I was in a small town with a garage within walking distance). That cost me $165.00. Now another one is going. And I am noticing that the air is going out of THAT tire!The original warranty is over, and my extended warranty doesnt cover electrical problems. So, total I received ANOTHER recall for this vehicle, this time for the automatic lift gate prop rod. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am. I am currently paying almost $500.00 a month for this car and I cannot afford to put thousands of dollars in it to fix all this! It’s CRAZY! I know some of the problems I have are minor irritations, but if I am paying for a vehicle to have all the bells and whistles, they better work!I called GMC today and voiced my complaints. They are supposed to call me back tomorrow and let me know if they can help me at all. I purchased this vehicle for my two girls, one of whom has spina bifida and needs a wheelchair (so we need lots of room). I need a good performing vehicle because of the amount of time I spend in the car taking her back and forth to doctor appointments that are about 1 hour away from our house. I could hear the water moving around inside the roof compartments while driving. The carpet becomes wet repeatedly. At one point it started to have mildew on the passenger side carpet. I have had it cleaned on several occasions. The battery compartment in the rear passenger side floor board filled with water. I took it to a mechanic, had the water drained and battery replaced. The water damage has caused electrical issues. My radio, cd player, and navigation system no longer works. I had to remove the fuse from the speakers to stop a loud irritating sound. The power steering pump was replaced around 80,000 miles. A mechanic stated that I need new struts. There is a metal to metal grinding noise when I place the transmission into drive mode. When I refill my gas tank, my Acadia will not start on the 1st or 2nd attempt. I have to push hard on the gas while turning on the ignition switch in order to start my engine. Afterwards, it starts without issues until the next trip to the gas station.I took my Acadia in to repair the roof leak twice. The drain ports were cleared. Although the second repair attempt decreased the amount of water leaking into the vehicle, my windows still become drenched from the inside. During the winter months, the water on the inside of my windows freeze. I have contacted GMC about the water leak issue. I was told by GMC that I should contact their GMC overseas department because I was stationed in Germany. I was later told that my VIN was not covered. I am basically stuck with a car that has caused me to pay way more than I ever expected in repair work. GMC has failed miserably with the Acadia model vehicle. I will never own a GMC vehicle again.

Will cost me 55 percent and GM will pay 45 percent. This should never happen at this mileage. GM knows they have a problem with this motor seeing they have a revised chain and guides. Don’t understand why there is not a recall or class action lawsuit for this problem seeing when you Google this problem you see it is very prevalent. Will not be buying any more gm vehicles anymore. In October of 2011, with approximately 50K miles the transmission failed and had to be replaced. My car now has only 84,000 miles, which means, 34K on the new transmission and the car is currently in the service department at the dealership where I purchased it and where the original transmission was replaced, they confirmed that the transmission does need to be fixed or replaced again and Im expected to pay for it. The original transmission should have lasted at least this long and its unreasonable to expect that I pay for a third transmission on this car at only 84,000 miles.

We really liked/like the car - the reliability is the overarching problem. To begin, there were a number of recalls resulting in many hours overall waiting at the dealer. If that were the only issue, I could deal with it. Unfortunately, that is just the beginning. We started having problems with the engine coils failing. First one - $400, a month later, another - $450. Four months later, one of the same coils that we had replaced and a different one - $660.00. Six months passed not without repairs (new radiator $700) and now the coils are a problem AGAIN! The dealer now tells us that ALL of the coils, the ECM and the catalytic converter all need to be replaced pursuant to a bulletin #PIP5038B which states if there are certain failure codes, which were present for us, that replacing less than all of the coils and other stuff, would result in future failure of the coils, problems with the brain and emissions. Total for this work - $2,931.72! Picked the car up and before arriving home, check engine light was back on! Can you believe it?? Dealer now states, which to be fair they had been working on and thought they had corrected, that the fuel injector is too clogged as a result of the coil problem and will need to be replaced - $765.00.My gripe - The coil failure appears to be a recurring issue which the dealer did not service properly initially replacing them one at a time resulting in our having to pay $1,510 only to have the same problem 6 months later. In that time, GM learned that they could not fix the problem 1 coil at a time and alerted their dealers in the bulletin. They learned while I paid but when the problem resurfaced due to the failure of their repairs, instead of offering to make good and apologizing for the additional inconvenience to me, they charged me an additional $3,000 which didnt fully fix the problem and now requires another $765. Who knows if that will be the end - perhaps there is a problem yet to be discovered with another fuel injector?I have spoken with the executive office and they offered to pay 50% of the current repair OR give me a voucher for $3,000 toward another GM product but I do not feel that this is fair compensation. I have had to expend $5500 on this car this year alone - not taking the additional $765 into account. One other note, GM continues to throw out that my car has high mileage which is a factor in the amounts they would offer. I purchased the car to drive, not preserve. I have taken care of the vehicle. Are GM cars only meant to go 100,000 and then die? Volvo and Toyota owners seems to expect 100s of thousands of miles but GM no? I dont see them advertising that.What would I like? For others to know of the problem. To be fully reimbursed for the monies we have had to expend in repairs to the coils so I can reinvest them in a new car that will actually work. I was told that they were discontinued for the 2013 model year and was recommended to look at an Acadia Denali because it had more room than a Yukon and got much better gas mileage. Boy what a mistake! I had also been entertaining the idea of a Yukon XL (think Suburban) because I wanted to make sure I had plenty of room for my growing family. I was led down a path of cost savings on fuel with the Acadia. It was posted 22 HWY and 17 City. With our mixed driving, I expected to get on the worst day - maybe 17. Instead I get 13 MPG! They tell me nothing is wrong! Please! I rent Suburbans when I travel (I rent about 100 times a year!) and I consistently get 15 MPG or better - with so much extra room! Now I am stuck with another 30 payments for this lemon.

The DVD/navigation went out first and two refurbished dealer units later, it still does not work to this day. Then we had the recall for the sunroof drains. Whatever the dealership did, it did NOT stop the water from pouring out of your headliner lamp in the rear. The rear window wiper will not shut off for days if you accidentally turn it on. Next we had the rear window fluid reservoir heater recall. That involved the dealer unplugging it to prevent a fire hazard. Next was the leak in the air conditioning condenser. After three consecutive annual recharge fees ($160 plus each), we hope the one the dealer installed will work next summer. The latest fun involves a dead battery. We replaced it with a new one just to find out it died in just a few hours. Trip to a dealer this morning revealed the dead battery was because of extensive water corrosion to the interior fuse panel. The source of the water is from the first recall issue of the water leaks from the sunroof drain tube defects. The dealer said we should fix the sunroof drain prior to putting the new fuse panel in or the problem will just repeat. Additionally the tech stated we should pay them to clean out the drain tubes on an annual basis just to avoid more electrical damage from water. To top things, the tech also advised us the drivers side axle was shot and that the repairs would total over $1500. We still own 4 GM cars and have been faithful for 35 years. In fact, our next purchase was going to be a Cadillac CTS, but after today we are done with GM. Count me in for a class action suit regarding the Acadia, there are several more issue but I have said enough for now.

My wife has been left stranded 3 times, twice with the kids, and once was only a couple of days after we dropped it off for our warranty covered inspection/oil change/tire rotation.. Also have multiple friends with the same vehicle and they all have had the same issues and more. Two friends with transmission issues and another with engine failure after the transmission was replaced with just over 100000 miles on it. Ours now is starting to have a burning smell after being driven and takes a second before it knocks and goes into gear. Very disappointed in GM and wont purchase another.

If the oil filter is removed during an oil change, oil will drip down and into the front engine mount regardless of the rubber hood. After a while it seems that the oil deteriorates the rubber inside the mount causing it to fail. This is a design flaw for sure. Sure the oil could be pumped out of the engine but still oil can seep down when the filter is removed. Yes, we have also had the steering rack/pinion replaced at 20K miles, and now this. I will never buy another.

There was water pouring out of the vents of every single orifice possible and the floor boards were soaked. It was the fault of a part in the sunroof. When I called the dealer, they said, Oh yeah, there was a recall but not on your Acadia because your car was made in Texas and not Michigan or vise versa. Called GM. After yelling and screaming, they covered. It happened again 8 months later then again 10 months from that. I had to pay for the one after 10 months because the year warranty on the sunroof parts were up. Then came the transmission. After 77,000 miles, the transmission went out and I was on the side of the road... The dealer immediately calls a wrecker and gets me a car... I was thinking ok, this is where the dealer just flushed out the transmission and they messed something up... Here I am at 65,000 miles later and it needed transmission work again!! I called GM three times and they were able to pitch in $400 to help. Whats crazy is the dealer first told me $4800 before I spoke to GM, then changed it to $1400 after GM agreed to help pay $400. Now the sound system has completely gone whack. My car is making a static sound when the radio is off and when the car is off, my car makes a loud ear piercing popping sound from the speakers with the radio and car is turned off. My car loses sound completely - no radio, no blinker noise, no dinging sounds whatsoever including OnStar like 10 times a day... It just cuts off and on all the time at random. Ive been like some of you, a LOYAL GM owner for years and years. Ive never been so put off with a car before in my life and let me tell you, I owned some crappy GMs before, but this tops the list. For the gentleman that said you folks are the exception for GM problems with Acadia obviously works for GM and hasnt bothered to read the 100s and 100s of GMC Acadia forums out there on tons of other websites. GM does have a problem with the Acadia model and they are refusing to face facts. The one that I think is priceless is how they say there is a recall (safety seat belt light latest one and my car has this problem too) and yet your 2008 or 2007 GMC Acadia is not part of the recall... That one is priceless. GM is notorious for saying they have recalls but oh no, not on your car. Remember its on the car that was made at the other plant... LOL. I would seriously hope the lady in charge now with GM would read these forums but we all know that is not happening. Hear no, speak no....blah, blah, blah. Im done with GM... and I really hate that.

On the fourth coil going out I had enough and asked the dealer to contact GM to see if there was anything they could do. In my opinion a 66% failure rate is excessive. The response from GM was that they would do nothing since the car is outside of 36,000 miles. I had them escalate the request and just heard back from GM. The rep that called me said that it was there was nothing that they could do since it was outside of 36,000 miles. When I asked if it was normal and ok for GM to have a 66% failure rate the rep told me that he did not even know what the part was and did not know if it was normal or not. So I am driving the dealers courtesy car for the second week until I get an answer that makes sense. Will never buy a GM car again.

Since theyre at the back near the firewall I had number 1 replaced too since the intake manifold had to be removed to accomplish the repair. A little over 2 weeks ago number 2 had to be replaced. The replacement of 6 coils is unacceptable for a vehicle with mileage as low as mine. Of course we all know about the timing chain issues and transmission flex plate problems. GM should be ashamed of this 3.6 liter motor and the transmission. The comfort and passenger compartment is great. Of course when you have to have your vehicle towed over 100 miles to get back home from vacation that comfort doesnt help. Thats what happened to my family Saturday. This junk is in the shop now with my mechanic. He is very honest and doesnt try to sell you service you dont need. You can look over his shoulder if you want to. He left dealership service due to their dishonest practices. Im getting no ignition to 2, 4, and 6. This isnt a coil issue. It probably is a wiring harness issue or fuse box issue. He explained the flimsy fuse boxes. The fuse boxes are made of layers of flimsy metal sheets so the sockets for the fuses wear out. I also may have damaged my cat by driving with the constant misfires resulting in dumping unignited fuel into the cat. I also have a broken front motor mount, another piece of junk as he states. All of this with around 62,000 miles. Buyer beware. My wife wanted this car bad and I bought without doing research. Never again. I may go for a Honda Pilot next time, after I do lots of research. BTW, I guess most of you know that the Acadia and the Chevy Traverse are the same. I forget the Buick equal.

I am only 4 months past our 5 year warranty (mind you the dealership in which we purchased the Acadia has a LIFETIME power train warranty...but GMC wont honor that because the dealership went out of business). I filed a case with GMC. They contacted the dealership that has our car and have only offered us a discount on refurbishing our transmission... What?! I dont want to refurbish this bad one, I need a new transmission. GM refused to do anything about it and I was never offered an extended warranty! So the repairs will be 3/4 what the car is worth! I called GM and explained the situation and the generous jerks said all they would do for me was give me $2,000 toward a new car! I talked to dealership and they explained it wasnt just a GM loyalty bonus, it was all they would give me for my trade in!! So I pay $43,000 for vehicle and 6 years later, its only worth $2,000!! Blue book is $11,000!! All I wanted was to at least get 1/2 of the blue book! However, that was not even considered! We have bought 8 GM vehicles brand new totaling $275,000! My dad retired from GM so I have always been loyal!! Never had any issues with our 4 Avalanches, Montana Van, Camaro, and Cavalier! The Acadia was my favorite (at first). I loved the style and room in it, but Ive seriously been so disappointed by all the issues - engine, camshaft, transmission, no radio or sounds because amp is fried! Front end making awful noises which again, they refused to fix! I will be purchasing another GM (dads discount is too good to turn down) and I hope and pray it will be alright because like I said, this Acadia is the only one weve had trouble with! Finally it went forward when put in Drive but RPMs stayed at 5,000, it wouldnt shift gears to go over 50 mph. I was on interstate. Top speed is 75 but people in KC drive A LOT faster. Im surprised my daughter & I got back to the hotel safe & sound. My insurance covered the tow to the closest shop. They would only pay $100 or less for the tow. I will have to drive the 4 hrs back to get it when its fixed. 8 hr round trip. Ill have to miss a full days wages or use my only day off for the trip. I couldnt be more upset. It was a Saturday when it broke down so naturally about every tranny shop was closed. I got a hold of 1 hardworking mechanic that was still at his shop to see if hed work on it. When I told him it was a 2008 GMC Acadia he said theyre known for bad transmission. I wish Id known that sooner. This is my only vehicle. I wasnt going to call someone to come that far to pick us up. My only option was to rent a car to get home. I have no idea how I will make it back to get the Acadia after its fixed & who knows how long itll be before its fixed. I cant afford a rental the entire time so Ill be without a car. How will I get to work to be able to pay for this? This just happened yesterday so I havent heard back from the mechanic yet. I will write another review about the exact problem & solution later. Im definitely giving GMC customer service a call tomorrow & will never purchase from GM again. Lots of people are having the same problem, I am with their Acadias. Ford here I come!!Updated on 09/23/2015: I was not able to find out what went wrong with my transmission. It was sent to my warranty company for them to determine the issue. They chose a rebuilt tranny to replace the first. The torch converter was bad. They sent the second rebuilt tranny. I was told the Acadia was fixed. I went to KC to pick it up 4 hrs away from home. It made it about 75 miles when the RPMs flew up to 5,500 & the engine lost power. I had to drive the other 3 hrs home with it in low & manually shift gears. Its been at another shop for a week now & I havent heard back from them. The company that supplied the rebuilt tranny will pay to have it fixed. The main issue is Im paying $350 a month for a car I havent been able to drive for over a month & the car I want to trade this pile of bolts for will be sold before I can get this thing fixed! I do not blame the mechanics or the rebuilt tranny company for all the trouble. I blame GM for a very poorly designed transmission!

And the biggest problem started in March prior to going on a trip, the car started hesitating on the highway and it was hard to accelerate. Upon returning home we took it to a mechanic and it only did small hesitations, not enough for him to diagnosis the problem. Then we drove with it hesitating every other day. It stopped for a while and now you can hear the transmission issues loud and clear. I am having trouble backing up, it jerks when I do, and when I try to take off the you can hear the gear issues. And it has been sitting for almost 2 weeks now because I now have to shell out a ton of money for a car with less than 50,000 miles. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR, YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DO!

I purchased my 2010 GMC Acadia in the summer of 2010. Since then Ive been in love with my SUV and still am until May 2013 when my Air Conditioner stop working. According to the dealer (where I always take my vehicle) they says its the Condenser which cost $848.84. After the repair everything was great and I was COOL. Until September 2015 when there is another problem with my AC thats going to cost $2211.00 to fix. What in the hell. Contact GMC Inc. After several emails no calls over the phone just emails. They told me they are unable to help me but my dealer at Ourisman of Alexandria VA will help out with some coupons. Spoke to someone today 06 October 2015. The only help they would help me is $200. I know I should be happy but it still have to come out of my pocket with a lot more money when I just knew my problem was fixed with the last amount. Now 2 years later I have another issues with the AC. Not asking for the bill to be paid in full (GMC has more money than me) but a little more help than $200 would have been much appreciated. HELP. HELP.

But ever since we got it, nobody can figure out why the tire pressure sensors give the wrong indicators for the wrong tires. For example, if the front passenger was low, it would indicated the rear driver is low. Over the summer, we were driving home from Michigan to New York and about 30 minutes into the trip, the radio just cut out. Now, it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt but it only seems to come on in very low temperatures. It worked for about 15 minutes this morning and then cut out. From what Ive found, its something with the amplifier. Ours has the Bose sound system and my mom does blast her music sometimes. I dont know if the amp is fried or if its a fuse in the amp or something and speaking of fuses, Id love to meet the moron who decided where one of the fuse boxes went. They placed it under the glove box where its hard to reach. Why couldnt they just put them in with the other fuses under the damn hood?!I wouldnt spend money on one of these pieces of garbage. You would be better off buying something else. Also, the traction on these things sucks. You just barely touch the gas and it spins your tires. Driving the FWD models is like driving a giant sled. I have a 2005 Mini Cooper and its like a tank in the snow and I have all season tires on that thing.

Like everyone else....My 2008 GMC Acadia is having transmission failure. AGAIN. This will be my 3rd transmission in this vehicle. My first replacement was 30k miles ago, and now its in the shop again. I had my transmission rebuilt last year because right when I hit 100k miles I started having problems. It ended up being everyones favorite, the wave plate. Now, they are telling me its the torque converter. Before this vehicle, I had a GMC Sierra which was covered under the lemon law due to serious brake problems. After fighting them for so long on that truck, they gave me this vehicle. What a nightmare it has been.I wrote GM an email with screen shots of many of the complaints in this forum. Along with many other complaints and stats that I found regarding the bad transmissions in these vehicles. I then contacted them via Twitter and phone. They told me they will pay 30% of the repair. Wow GM, how kind of you. I have had every problem documented, leaks in the vehicle, electrical failure, car just stopped running when I was going 75 on the 405 in LA at 11pm at night. That was fun.I am now fighting them on this transmission repair. This transmission should have been recalled. Worst part of it, this is just an old transmission from a previous Acadia that they rebuilt and are trying to charge me $2,800 for. Its not like they recalled it and fixed the issue, then built new transmissions. Its going to have the same exact wave plate issues, because its the same transmission! What dont they get about this? It has been such a battle with GM over the last 8 years. All I want to do is get as far away as possible from GM & GMC. They have no love for their customers and do not work hard enough to give anyone a reason to stick around. Their new CEO better start working double over time.

On November 7, 2007, I drove home the PROUD owner of a beautiful American product. I couldnt wait to show it off and brag about the Crossover I called my own. Talk about love of a vehicle... this was it. I found it inconvenient that only certain dealerships were even certified to work on my baby, unless it was the dealer I bought it from, they could work on it (but really? If it takes someone especially certified, I dont want to take it to the dealer I bought it from if they arent certified) plus, Id have to say that this is the first vehicle Ive ever heard of that requires a special certification to service the vehicle to keep the warranty intact. I faithfully maintained it and did everything I was told needed to be done (granted things like changing air filters, I did myself for the cost of the part vs. the cost of the part + $100 to have it done). The front-end of the transmission was rebuilt at 44,000 miles. Water pump required replacement, there were a couple recalls (minor), and an enormous issue with the A/C system (which eventually got fixed). Now, I must say GM took care of all of these problems, without issue. Kudos, it sounds like I may be the only one. Oh, and the driver side door seal leaks, so my seat gets wet when it rains (never fixed it as it was past the bumper-to-bumper warranty when it started and couldnt afford to repair it with the already near $600/month payment). However, I am now at 126,334 miles on the odometer and my love is near lost. I paid it off last spring and am now having several repairs, which would be VERY costly to have the dealership fix. In most recent weeks, I have replaced the spark plugs (as a general tune up and PM due at 100,000 miles), immediately had check engine light on and flashing-vehicle began running very rough, idling up and down, and near chugging at times. ONstar reported multiple engine misfires and spit out the following codes: P03000, P0174, P0171. Now along with that, the traction control began intermittently turning itself off (which I know it does when the check engine light is on or when it senses something off). Upon researching these codes we decided the best action would be to replace the problem coils.... P0174 and P0171 cited lean fuel conditions in the respective cylinders and after reading all the reviews, I decided to replace all coils. Ok new spark plugs and new coils... should run great. Unhooked the battery to clear the codes and CEL. Still having the same problems except now the CEL isnt coming on. Next thought, replace the fuel pump. It could be the problem, I did after all have the trouble with -40 wind chills that it wouldnt even kick on so that I could start the vehicle. 2 days later it started working again (thought a fluke, maybe a short or a loose wire), havent had any further problems until this now..... Overall, I like the Acadia, but am really beginning to become discouraged. I keep thinking, I get this fixed and the exhaust replaced (which just rusted through in a small area) and everything will be good to go, but what happens when the timing chain needs replaced (thats a high bill) the cover has already been leaking forever and the dealership never bothered to enlighten me on that. Power steering fluid is leaking out like its in a sieve - made sure everything is tight and now am running Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak in it to try to keep fluid in it as long as possible and hopefully prevent failure and required replacement of the pump or worse yet, the rack-and-pinion. I can see where it might get really costly (more than it is right now) to continue to drive this vehicle. I do have to say I havent driven the Acadia in near 3 weeks as Im afraid it will leave me stranded. Its a shame that GM quit making the 3.8 (3800). I had multiple vehicles with that motor and never had to do anything to them other than change the oil, sparks plugs, air/oil filters, and 1 alternator. Bring back the proven equipment and ditch the new garbage. Thankfully, last spring I bought a KIA Optima for my primary transportation to and from work. It is getting me everywhere I need to go since the Acadia is down, sucks though - I got stuck in the snow because the snow was simply too deep and the tires wouldnt touch the ground any longer. Wish I had the Acadia to drive in the snow, it is after all a record breaking winter!

After my husband and I were forced to pull off of interstate 95 just south of Washington, DC during rush hour, we had to replace our water pump due to its lacking ability to function as well as belt that had been leaked on due to problems with the water pump. The letter from GM does imply that should the seal not function properly, the water pumps operating ability could be compromised. Prior to the breakdown, my husband and I noticed low coolant levels, monitored the levels and added coolant when needed. The engine fan continued to run even after the vehicle had stopped - a sign that something was not working right. I contacted GM customer service regarding the cost of the repair that, to me, seems a result of a malfunctioning part produced by the company. I was informed that because the vehicle was not repaired at a dealership, they were unable to reimburse me for the repairs. At the time, the vehicle was not drivable and was taken to the closest available repair shop. The closest dealer was almost an hour away. I am filing the complaint as I find it unfair and unjust that GM has not recalled the water pump shaft seal and instead is hiding behind the issue by calling it a courtesy customer service letter. After researching the issue, I discovered that I am not alone in believing that this part should be recalled. The letter offers this resolve: Your GMC dealer will check your vehicles coolant level and, if necessary, will add sufficient engine coolant. If the seal is compromised, the vehicle will continue to need additional and unordinary amounts of engine coolant fluid. This letter offers a cowardly attempt at patching the real issue (that is the malfunctioning water pump shaft seal). I feel strongly that this part should be recalled.

I live in Hamshire, Texas, so I was driving over 30 minutes to the dealership for service. I again took the car back and they changed more parts and again, it was not fixed. After trip 4, they finally realized it was the engine coils. After so many problems, I asked the dealership to buy back the vehicle for my current balance and they were very rude and talked horrible to me. The owner even said I was lying about his salesman Scott not calling me back after 10-15 phone calls about a new vehicle. It was so bad my husband went to get the vehicle and made them apologize to me. The salesman Scott did apologize and stated, Im sorry for not calling you. I have no excuses why I didnt call. I know you are aggravated about your air conditioner being out and that is understandable. He didnt even know why my car was even there. Then the next day, my power steering went out and they refused to look at it and told me to take it to another dealership because nothing they worked on could have affected it. I took my vehicle to another mechanic and we found that a piece they had worked on was broken and replaced it with a drinking straw! My car is still broken.

Since then I had the transmission switched out twice and been through 2 transmission modules. Luckily I bought the extended warranty but they extended the warranty until 120k or 2017. I only have 92k miles and dont drive a lot. I called GMC and talked to corporate. They reviewed my vehicle maintenance report and said there maybe a possible option to get a coupon voucher to help get into a new car. They called me back a week later and said the manager reviewed the case and said that they have helped me every time there was an issue, we took care of it. I said ok but that was because of the warranty. They werent rude but said they cant help me but if more issues occur they review my file again. My issue is what happens after warranty expires. Im stuck with a vehicle I expected to be in my family for a long time. I dont have money to be putting in transmissions every year.

Within months, we had numerous recalls, the AC stopped working, the USB port stopped working, and a piece of the rubber on the car windows fell off. Luckily, it was under warranty. After 2 years, we had a total of five recalls.Within a couple of months of the warranty expiration, the problems got worse. The AC stopped working AGAIN. Same problem, different year. Our front tires suddenly went bad ($550), confusing since the car didnt have many miles. No explanation from the dealer. Now, year three, AC went out AGAIN ($1100 front and rear), front CV joints cracked ($650) which we were told was probably why our tires went bad so fast, fuel injection issues ($240) causing car to stall every time we got gas, power steering fluid hose leaking ($200), and other issues with a total bill of $2900. Mechanic said it was one of the biggest messes hed ever seen on a car. He said the car was very cheaply put together with plastic parts. I hate this car and completely disappointed that we paid $45000 for a piece of junk.

After studying and preparing most of my academic assignment on this giant company, I became a loyal customer to this respective brand and this point was really the most important factor which led me to choose the Acadia car. I experienced this since February 2010 and my loyalty was enhanced more than before; however after less than three years and less than 50,000 mileage, I was disappointed as I faced problems with the noise in my steering wheel where it became a redundant issue; however, this was solved. But in November 2011, I faced another sound inside the car when I press the brake. Though it has been solved, it happened again after less than one year and currently, I face the same issue! The agent here in Bahrain advised me that they have to change the master cylinders and the boosters. In addition to this issue, the rear door pumps had no pressure to hold the rear door. I spoke with the agent and argued with them about this. They agreed to change the master cylinders with the booster at their cost if I bear the labor charge cost which exceeds BHD 80/- (USD212)! Today, I found out that these two issues are common with all Acadia models. My close friend (his car reg. # **) is also facing the same issues. I am filing this complaint to take this issue up with the agent to waive all the charges, as its unbelievable that such nice car produced by a leading company has these issues and the customer is bearing the cost of repairing them! Im looking for a service to keep me satisfied.

At 18,000 miles I had 4 bald tires. They cover a portion of it under warranty. The tire guy has to call Michelin with the mileage and size of tread - if any. We did get 70% off new ones. Two days later I started experiencing the SHIFT TO PARK error. Its in park and I try to shut it off but it doesnt register being in park. This prevents the car from locking and causes nonstop dinging that will ultimately drain your battery. You have to turn it on/off again multiple times, jiggle the stick, hit the brake until it magically decides its good. It now happens EVERY time I shut it down. There is no fix. Again GM is aware and left it to the discretion of the dealership to share the info. Now Im stuck in a lease for a PITA car that I cant properly use. Save yourself the headache - buy something else!

They replaced the fuel injector and everything seemed kind of ok for a while. Months later the car had a thumping/ rattling noise in the front end. Also the car started misfiring again. Spark plugs were changed twice and coil was replaced. I have been towed a few times and drove to the dealership numerous times. The car has been in the shop 22 times for the SAME TWO ISSUES. They changed just about everything in the front end for the thumping/rattling noise... struts, bushings, etc. They couldnt figure it out so they had a GMC expert fly out from the Midwest. Supposedly they fixed the issue and the noise went away for a while and came back. Now they tell me I need new struts!!?? Again?? And, now they tell me I need new cylinder heads also at $5100!! This new engine only has 60,000 miles on it!! I have a friend who has owned a shop for 35 years and has worked on my car a couple of times. He thinks maybe when they put the engine in they pinched the wiring harness or its something electrical that is causing the misfiring since it is random. He also feels since they changed everything in the front end they didnt tighten the cradle bolts when they put the engine back in and that is whats causing the rattling noise. These problems started after they put the new engine in. Whatever the case the car has been a piece of junk from the beginning. Also the power steering pump has been replaced twice in two years, not to mention numerous recalls and other issues. I have contacted an attorney and I would NEVER trust another GMC vehicle. I have NEVER owned a vehicle with so many issues. Not even a used vehicle...

A few times Ive been in the car with my children where it stopped running or wouldnt start and let out a loud noise when I tried to start it. A very nice repairman said the steering rack is cracked, but because I dont have a newer model, Acadia, this isnt covered under the 100,000-mile warranty GMC offers. After doing research about this topic, I find dozens of websites with many, many people all having the exact same problem with the exact same model and year Acadia. While I was told that this is a very serious issue, no recall has ever been issued by GMC. However, I was told that GMC is aware of the problem and has re-designed their newer model steering racks. I spoke with GMC headquarters asking for this to be a covered expense so I dont have my two children in danger. The guy on the phone was quite rude and said he has the final authority and he did not approve my request. When I asked if there was someone else I could speak with, I was told that any further communication on this subject would have to be taken outside of GMC and that they would no longer speak on my claims. I was so angry I was speechless. I dont understand how they can claim they know this is serious and know there is a problem but never recall the vehicle! And why is this now a covered warranty repair but it isnt for my vehicle?

For those of you who are researching Acadias for your future car, I would like to share that my 2014 Acadia Denali has been to the dealer 5 times for repairs/replacements parts in the past 9 months. My car currently only has 13,600 miles on it. At 4900 miles I had the Vacuum Brake Booster replaced. At 8500 miles I had the Master Cylinder Replaced. At 8900 miles I had to have the car towed because the stabilitrak went out and they replaced the Brake Pedal Position Sensor. At 10,400 miles they replaced another Vacuum Brake Booster. And finally at 13,600 miles I had the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve replaced. All of that happened in the first 14 months of the car. I now own a very expensive car that cannot go an oil change without multiple repairs being made in between. GMC has been non responsive until my state DMV contacted them. It is so disappointing to purchase a car that has no integrity and then try to work with GMC who only will respond if I escalate to a legal matter. I would think GMC would be pretty embarrassed to know their car has had so many failures but they are not even interested. Who knows what my 2nd year will look like but I would have wanted to have read this information prior to my purchase. The dealer making repairs has been nice, but again it is a such a pain to go up there 10 times for drop off and pick up. I traded in my MDX because the Acadia had bigger 3rd row and other features I wanted but in the end I will take a smaller car than drive a car that I constantly have to worry will break again.

Well another big repair needed for my 2010 GMC Acadia. First I had problems with the steering column. Then the core evaporator had to be replaced. Both were major repairs. GMC Paul Sur paid for most of it after I went on their website and complained. Now I need a TMC module and seal replaced. Need throttle service and fuel injector. Total cost parts and labor $1600! Called to get a breakdown for parts $734 and labor $509. Throttle clean $124.95, fuel induction service 139.95. Funny how I took my car in a year ago with the same problem. It was still under warranty. But they said that the codes did not show up at that time. Now its not under warranty and the codes showed up. Really? This is the third major problem Ive had with this car.

Since that time we have experienced repeated issues with the fuel gauge dropping to completely empty, while much more gas is in the tank. Have taken it in for service 7 times already and have spent numerous more times talking with them and calling Corporate GMC. They have tried reprogramming a couple times, checking a float in the tank, replacing a cluster, etc. They tell me nobody else has this issue, and the loaners I have had have not had this issue. Their end-solution was for me to always keep half a tank of gas in the vehicle. Theres a solution for you. Now when the tank is nearly full, it shows over full. Salesman tells me, Hey, I dont make em, I just sell em.
