Fisker Automobile Troubleshooting

If you're looking for help fixing your Fisker Automobile, look no further! Our comprehensive Fisker Automobile Troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

Poor Fuel Economy
When the engine is running efficiently, it burns fuel at a rate that helps improve fuel economy. However, several fuel system parts like fuel filters, air filters, mass airflow sensors, and O2 sensors will eventually get dirty or wear out. If this happens before they are replaced, it will cause the engine to consume more fuel than usual. Again, being proactive about routine servicing provides the solution.

Vibrating or shaking
Numerous issues can cause shakes and vibrations, so make sure to inspect them all before coming to a conclusion. First up, check your wheels and tires. It could be that they're misaligned or out of balance, reducing your handling and fuel economy while increasing tire wear. A lug nut could be loose, too. Worn mounts won't hold the engine or transmission tight against the frame, leading to vibrations. Failing suspension can also vibrate since it can't work as well to dampen the normal impacts your car experiences. Warped brake rotors will vibrate whenever you touch the pedal. Problems with engine timing can also cause serious shaking. If all that checks out, inspect the bolts that mount your seat to the floor.

Fix a Squealing Belt
Of all the car problems you might encounter, a squealing belt is probably the most annoying. The high-pitched squeal is produced when the rubber belt loses its grip and slips around the pulleys. In rare cases, a worn slow-moving alternator, pump, or AC compressor bearing or component misalignment can cause a perfectly good belt to squeal. But in most cases, the belt slips because it’s worn, is loose, or has been contaminated with oil or coolant. You can diagnose all those problems yourself with a visual inspection, a belt wear gauge, and a spray water bottle.

Stalling
This can cause new motorists alarm. You are driving smoothly then all of a sudden the car comes to a complete halt in the middle of the road.
If this happens on a highway, you may find yourself causing serious accidents. The car stalling’s main reason includes faulty filters, fuel lines, or defective crankshaft position sensor.

Brakes Squeaking or Grinding
Like any other moving part on your car, the brake system is intended to wear out over a designated period. Brakes are vital for safe stopping, so when they display any symptoms of issues, like squealing, squeaking, or a soft brake pedal – they should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible. While minor problems can cause squeaking or squealing noises, once the brakes start grinding, it’s a definite sign they need to be replaced.

Flat Tires
While most tires become flat after striking an object or being punctured, simple wear and tears can be the main source. Extend your tire's lifespan by keeping them properly rotated, as recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Generally, rotating tires every 5,000 miles (or when you change your engine oil) is the best advice.

Cracked Windshield
While it still takes an errant rock or some other heavy catalyst, many car windshields are rolling off the assembly line with stress defects that make them more vulnerable to damage. Small ones may seem like a cosmetic problem, but any cracks can potentially compromise the structural integrity of your vehicle.

Lights
Whether a burnt out bulb or a poor connection, if your headlights, brake lights, or turn signals are out, you've got a safety issue on your hands. While the bulbs themselves are lasting longer than ever, corrosion and poor wiring is still a major concern.

This is a great car. I have had several days with my new Karma, and I love it. I Have driven 300 miles and used only two gallons of gas! The design catches more eyes than I thought, as people are constantly pulling out their cell phones and taking pictures of it. Charging at night is simple. Plug it in and forget it. Interior is comparable to any of the many European luxury cars I have owned, only more plush. Drives like a big car, it does weigh 5300 lbs, but it handles much better than I thought it would.

Ferrari, Aston Martin looks for half the price, at the same time averaging 112 miles per gallon over the last year. Talk about a sexy poster child for green vehicles. First couple months had some little software bugs with the touchscreen and check engine lights however nothing that impacted driving. Software patches have put that behind us and now just enjoy driving around a technological and artistic masterpiece.

Although other have commented that the rear seats are small. They will comfortably fit an 6'3" tall adult. I love that it has 50 miles to a charge, with 250 miles of gasoline backup, making it a great daily driver. I love how quiet it is in Stealth mode. This is a beautiful, eye catching vehicle. Do not buy if you don't want people coming up to you daily asking what it is and telling you how gorgeous it is! Trunk space is enough for a carry on and laptop+, or groceries, or a golf bag. This is not an suv. It is a luxury sedan.

Car looks great and is not finished. Consider it unfixable due to multiple problems. Manufacturer not interested in taking responsibility or quality control. Multiple recalls and rushing deliveries before all the problems are even identified. Read Fisker buzz or search problems with fisker. Rebooted multiple times in motion the first 24 hours. No one calls you back with any certaintly or help. Company refuses to take them back, so do not take delivery unless you want the buyer beware speech. You will be plagued by constant and chronic failures, unless you like waiting 5 minutes to reboot or waiting weeks for any response. Bottom line is there is no fix. Expect a car that works.
