2013 335xi CPO 3 bent rims sold to me by BMW of south shore Hingham Mass. First I must start by saying Im writing this review with the facts and non-bias against BMW South Shore Gallery. I have owned 4 BMWs within the last couple of yrs. I recently went to BMW of south shore to trade my SUV for a sedan. Upon my arrival I notice that they had a new facility quite spacious and clean. Not many sales folks on the floor... However after a few minutes I was approach by a young gentleman which was quite articulate. We struck up a deal on my trade for a CPO sedan. After signing and ready for pickup a few days later I notice the car was not cleaned to my expectation... So I told them about it and they asked me to bring it back... so I did. After a few weeks later I was driving going 93 north. During my acceleration I notice that there was heavy vibration when the speedometer was 70 mph... I did not think anything of it... I thought this was just maybe balancing needed. Within a 2-week span I decided to call and make appointment to take a look... After arriving at the service area... I was in quite shock because the first thing the service advisor said was you will need wheel and tire insurance... Im like wtf in my mind... Ok I humored him... Then he said hes going to put it on the lift and show me that its not uncommon that I have bent rims? But 3 rims... How the hell did he know that the rims was bent... After putting it on the lift... he called me to look. He stated that 3 of my rims was bent and needed to be fixed. Keep in my mind I barely had this car for less than an month prior to observing this problem.I told them that Im not responsible for this, as this car is fairly new and I just picked it up. I was appalled by the next comment... that its not uncommon to have 3 or 4 rims bent... Seriously. I said I was going to go directly to BMW and complain of this deceitful practices on CPOs... and especially the folks in the service area selling you unnecessary things... BMW puts a lot into their CPOs and South Shore is putting the money back in their pockets... Right now Im still waiting for a call from them to fix my 3 bent rims which they knowingly sold the car to me with. The average driver would not have notice this issue if they were driving at 55 mph... So beware...Always go over the car thoroughly with the sales person... and have them put it on the lift and have 4 tires rotating so you can see if the rims are bent. My wife brought her car there several times for service and each time it has always been a problem because they serviced the wrong thing... including taking off parts and not putting it on back correctly... Theres no accountability with the service advisor... and mechanics. If you do purchase a car please take to another BMW dealer and have them go over it and I bet you will find quite a few discrepancies...

A NEW (not used) BMW transmission was replaced for our X5 BMW year 2001 in July 15, 2010. We understood that the warranty on this transmission would be 10 years. Recently, December 28th, 2013, the transmission was failed. BMW did not accept responsibility for replacement under warranty claiming that the warranty period is only two years. Is this correct? The replacement cost we paid at the BMW OTTO Service was for a New BMW transmission. Your assistance & advise is appreciated.

I purchased a BMW 228i from a authorized BMW dealer and right after one year with 12000 miles on it the original Pirelli tires on the car split from the sidewall. I know for sure that I didnt hit the curb or anything and the car is always garaged. When I spoke with BMW they said they cant do anything about it and you need to contact dealer. So I contact my deal and he said since you didnt purchased any tire warranty with us we cant do any thing and you need to pay $400 to replace the tire. Since it was important I went ahead and spend $400 for just one tire. Now its a month passed and the exactly same thing happened on another tire and this time I again contacted BMW asking if there is any manufacturing defect with the tire or wheels. They opened the case and asked me that we will take 3 days to revert back with the case. Its already 1 week passed and they never bother to revert back to me on whats going on with the case. Couple of days back I called customer service and they said its being assigned to the service manager Matt ** in BMW and if you want you can call at his extension otherwise he will revert back to you. I called at his extension 3 times. Left a voice message but they just dont bother to at least call me back and tell me we are working on it. It feels like they just dont care about they customers, not sure if they are working in the office or not. THE MOST PATHETIC customer service from such a big company. Now that not over, this time I went to discount tires for this tire issue and they said if you are at tread count lower than 2/32 (which is 8/32 since the new tires are at 10/32) since you purchase the new car which and if it is a run flat tires Pirelli (Original tires from BMW) will replace it for free and if the tread count is lower than that (8/32) it will calculated as pro rated basis. They called Pirelli themselves and give me after pro rated calculation. They gave me $100 back and also replaced it with new tires. Now when this happened to my another tire neither BMW or their authorized dealer (Ralph ** BMW), that you will get the pro rated amount back. It felt like Ive been cheated by BMW and their authorized dealer.

I purchased a CPO BMW because I wanted to feel safe and secure that the vehicle was well maintained. The cherry on top was that I would be getting free maintenance for 3 years. Then I found out the restrictions along with the free maintenance which includes only one oil change a year. I live in an area where there is no BMW dealership. So after two years, I took my vehicle in to a local place so that I could get oil changes after 6 months. I thought it would be a good test to see how good the place was too since I would be taking it in to the dealership the next time. The service place reset the indicator lights on my BMW so that I wouldnt get the incessant notification - I thought was nice of them to do that. My mistake. I took my vehicle in after 50,000 miles to get it serviced and BMW said they couldnt perform most of the major 45,000 and 50,000 mile maintenance because the service light wasnt on. I tried to escalate by calling Customer Relations, but they pushed it back to the Dealership and the area managers. The area managers said since I hadnt been in to a dealership for over a year, it showed that I didnt have any brand loyalty.Keep in mind the closest BMW dealership to me is about 45 minutes away - so not a quick drop off. Also, keep in mind I went the past two years and realized they would only perform maintenance on my vehicle once a year anyway - anything earlier and I wasnt qualified for any service. Seriously? How much does it cost to change spark plugs on my car anyway?!?! Theyve certainly lost a customer in me. I was going to have other service completed ($800+) but after this treatment, Ill take my chances and go to a local place instead.Ill give them credit that they did perform some of the other warranty covered items (like replacing gaskets, etc.), but it makes me angry and frustrated that they wont perform the regularly scheduled maintenance items due to me not having brand loyalty, especially when Ive always gone to BMW except for one time. And something as minor as not changing spark plugs has decidedly made me never to buy BMW again. I love the way the cars drive, but the joy of driving it doesnt compensate for the poor treatment I get as a customer. I should have listened to everyone else who said BMW doesnt care about their customers.

I purchased a 2015 BMW 435i brand new. I purchased all the extended warranties and maintenance packages. Since 2017 I have had an ongoing issue with the car not starting. It happens when least expected. I have replaced the battery 3 times in the last year. The last time it was in for repair I was told that they could not replicate the problem. So basically BMW cannot fix their own product. I was so frustrated. I told my service advisor that if they can’t fix it then no one can! No one cared! I called customer relations to No avail.I thought I would be able to keep this car for many years to come but due to its unreliability, I had to trade it in for a completely different brand. I lost tens of thousands of dollars! Last but not least, I called the finance department to get a refund on what was left of the extended warranties only to find out that many of them are no refundable! I will tell anyone who will listen, do NOT purchase any of these vehicles, they are not the quality that they are marketed to be. I know at least three other people who have had multiple problems with various models. One of which sued with lemon law and got another vehicle. I did not want another vehicle, I just wanted them to fix mine! This was a VERY expensive lesson learned.

I love BMW. BMW cars are well manufactured and can last a lifetime if properly maintained. Many people with these luxury high end cars do not understand that regular maintenance alone will not allow for any problems to come up. Its a car, IT MUST BE DRIVEN! I cannot stress that enough. Many people come in complaining of a problem when it is just a common thing to happen.

I have a 2015 BMW X5. I drove the car to a neighbors for a birthday party. It was daylight. The parking area for the house, which appeared flat, bordered on a hillside. I was (fortunately) alone. I turned off the engine; normally at that point the car goes into (P) park. I went to the back door on the drivers side and opened it to remove something, then closed the door. At that point the car began to roll, and over the next several seconds it picked up speed, then it went over the edge of the hill. There was, mercifully one lone tree which caused the car on the passenger side to crash and stop. When I subsequently went into the car and looked at the gear shift the transmission was in (N) neutral. I emphatically did not leave the car in neutral. There was approximately $15,000 damage to the car.I contacted BMW about this, really just to inform them. They wanted to inspect the car and the person I talked to at that time said they would consider paying the deductible on the insurance if they determined I was not at fault. This caused some delay but the inspection occurred. Needless to say, they called a couple of weeks later (my original contact had left the company) and said they had not promised anything (that was true); they would not take responsibility. This could have been a terrible accident. Had there been a child, a pet, or anyone else, in front of the car, or if I had walked in front of the car to open the passenger door on the other side--or walked back-- there would have been nothing to stop my getting run-over. I would not consider buying another BMW (this is our second, and generally I like the car a lot) if this problem is not somehow fixed.

My 2011 BMW 335d has had the Service Engine Light on for most of its life now. Every single time I took it in while it was under warranty they could never find anything wrong. I even had to bring it back to Kuni BMW four times because the DEF warning like kept coming on. They would say, “Oh, we just filled the DEF, it is fine.” Lo and behold, once my warranty had expired, they found the problem. Now, the latest issue, I have brought it in regularly for its oil changes, etc. The service engine light keeps coming on. Then the engine malfunction light. Took this beauty in today and guess what? Now it has a Carbon Build Up problem. After doing some research online today, it seems many 335d are having terrible carbon build up problems. Well guess what, no warranty and now an additional $2,800 to repair and 10 days in the shop. Seriously??? It seems to me, for the amount of money spent on BMW their cars would be more maintenance free, however, I feel this is the game of BMW. They know these engines have widespread problems and yet they do not protect the consumer. I am so sorry I bought this beautiful car now!!! Poor decision not to believe the terrible reviews. My car is just slightly out of warranty. You think they would extend my warranty in a good faith effort to keep a valued client, however, they could care less. Very disappointed!!! Do your due diligence before investing in a BMW. As my friend put it to me, he has diesel vehicles with over 100,000 miles on it without a carbon build up issue. I feel like I am going to file a lawsuit against BMW at this point. There must be a Lemon Law.

I recently submitted a survey of my recent visit to the local BMW dealership (Schafer BMW of Wilmington, NC). I stated that I had taken my vehicle (2011 X3) in for a problem with noise coming from the passenger side at speeds of 45-50 MPH. The dealership stated that they too heard the noise and it was due to the tires. With 30K miles on the tires and their recommendation, I purchased 4 new tires, had them balanced and a front end alignment. Two weeks later I noticed the same noise coming from the same location. I returned my vehicle to the same dealership and again stated that the same noise was coming from the same location even after purchasing 4 new tires with an out of pocket of expense of $850 for tires, mounting, balancing and front end alignment. The dealership now states the noise is coming from the exhaust and not the tires. The resolution is still pending and BMW Customer Relations and Assistance states that they cannot reimburse me for the tires or accept responsibility of the dealerships misdiagnosis. Help!

I bought this in April 2008 with 18,000 on it, as a 40 mile each way commuter, and with the Corbin seat and BMW bags already on it. I love it right from the start. It has massive torque, gobs of acceleration and is fast enough for me (I haven't had it flat out, but I've had an indicated 120 mph out of it without trying hard). I found it a little too buzzy for comfort around 4500 rpm. The Manic Salamander bar end weights (18.5 ounces instead of the stock 9.5 ounces) completely cured that. I found it very windy over 70 mph; Parabellum windshield, adjusted as high as it can go cured that. My other add-ons were for personal preference, not necessity. The bike is as reliable as a stone, comfortable all day, a joy to drive and magic through the twisties. At first I felt like I wasn't getting much feedback from the front suspension, then I realized it just was not having any problems, so there was nothing for it to tell me. It just goes around bends on any surface at any speed I've asked of it without fuss.

I purchased a 2013 328xi for my wife in June 2016. It came with 18 alloy wheels and brand-new Pirelli run-flat tires. After a few months, the rear passenger tire kept losing air. I took it in for inspection 8/23/17 and was told it was due to a cracked wheel. My wife never hit anything with that wheel that would cause such severe damage. The service rep said that she probably hit a pothole and that the run-flats dont provide enough cushion to protect the wheel. In other words, its a defect in the wheel/tire assembly (borne out by a class-action suit settled by BMW for cracked wheels on the Z4 in 2015). The solution offered by the service agent was to replace the wheel and tire for $1,035. I asked if BMW would take back the run-flats (with only 5700 miles) and replace with conventional tires so I wouldnt risk another wheel crack from a pothole. The answer was no.So I paid for a new wheel (discounted 50% by BMWNA after filing a complaint) and took the car to Discount Tire and bought 4 new Conti Extremes in trade for the run-flats at $30 each. Cost me $758. They inspected the right rear tire and saw no evidence of damage. There was also no evidence of impact to the wheel - just the hairline crack. BMW of San Diego could have done the right thing by replacing the defective wheel at no charge (the car is still under warranty), but instead tried to fleece me for the full cost of a new wheel and a tire that wasnt damaged. In fairness, the service manager, William **, made a good-faith effort to make this right. But the dealership and BMW didnt care. BTW, the car actually handles much better with the Continental Extreme Contacts, and the ride is much more comfortable. We just have to pray that she wont get a flat, because there aint no spare.

I was wondering whether you might be interested in running a story about what to watch out for when leasing a car. I am having a very difficult time with BMW Financial Services organization and have identified at least 4 ways that their owners choice agreement does harm to the customer. I learned a lot and thought it could be of potential interest to your readers. After turning in my i3 at the two year lease end, and making every payment like clockwork, and returning the car in immaculate condition (nothing found wrong by the independent examiner), they are suddenly hounding me to pay them $353 purportedly so they can use that money to sell the car to someone else. What, I said? I leased the car from you, its your responsibility to sell it. I have tried talking to them but they claim that this money clawback fee, is somewhere buried in the fine print of their agreement.Strangely, no matter how many times I spoke with all of the people at the dealership no one ever made me aware of this situation. And the Financial Services Group was irrational when I called them. When I explained that I bought another i3 but I didnt finance it, they wouldnt take off the fee. It would seem that finance group at the dealership needs to tell the customer when we are in there signing pages and pages of documents. But my real wonder here is why BMW management would want to pursue this after the fact, fee extraction extortion strategy.I was told, now after the fact, that had I did another financing with BMW finance they would have waived the fee. However, the reason I didnt buy the i3 I had from the dealer was because I was told that I would have to pay a $2,200 customer loyalty fee over the street value of the car. And I actually have this in writing. Is this a rational thing for a customer to be told? Is that what loyalty means to BMW Finance. Hey you are loyal, so you need to pay $2,200 more for the car? For $350, and what they want it for, I can tell you that they arent earning goodwill and keep customers this way. I have two other tax issues that harmed me that was also part of their program. These were tax related and needlessly abusive policies. Anyway, I dont think I will be leasing another car from BMW Finance.

BMW Nightmare! 7 months ago my 2008 X5 died while I was driving the vehicle. Fortunately, there were very few cars on the road at the time. I jumped the car and took it straight to United BMW in Duluth, Georgia. They informed me that everything checkout fine and I simply needed a new battery. Fast forward 7 months and the vehicle died again while I was driving at a speed of 45 mph. I nearly got rear-ended. My family and I made it home after getting the car jumped, only to have it die in my driveway. Oh wait! It gets better. The vehicle was towed to United BMW in Duluth this morning. I explained the history to the representative named Scott **. Scotts response to me is as follows: 1. You must drive the vehicle at least 20 miles a day. 2. You must lock the vehicle when youre not driving so the system completely shuts down. 3. We recommend you purchase supplemental power for the vehicle to ensure the batter is adequately charged.4. If your fuel is low you may also experience problems. My response to Mr. Scott **: No one in their right mind would purchase a BMW based on what you described! His response, My job is to give you the information. I apologize if your sales representative failed to do so. Needless to say, Im afraid to let my wife or kids operate this vehicle. BMW, IF THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GET FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND WE END UP IN AN ACCIDENT, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!

BMW West Houston did a full check, and recommended a lot of parts changes, including the evaporator + gaskets, auxiliary belt and tensioner + bolt-belt tensioner, oil filter housing gasket. The total cost was 3000 USD+. Immediately when I took my car back after the service, the car panel shows the Triangle exclamatory mark, according to BMW West Houston shop that this is the software issue, can be reset easily, I can bring the car back to reset. From the last service, 3 weeks later, the driving mileage shows 570 miles, I start to hear a sharp noise, and soon the service engine soon light turned on. I brought the car back to BMW shop, after diagnostic, BMW has quote again 3000+ USD for some other parts to be changed, and told me to reset the software back I need to pay 500 USD to remove that. It is ridiculous after the full service with a lot of recommended parts replacement, just after 3 weeks the car has such a big issue again, especially there were about 10 days we actually didnt use the car in between. I am very disappointed with BMW quality, also very disappointed with the service quality.

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/water-in-the-trunk-causes-problems-for-bmw-owners-and-bmw-020717.html. I drive a 2011 BMW 535i. The car shut down in the middle of an intersection. Several inches of water was found in a trunk compartment and the electronic circuitry found in the truck now needs to be replaced. I googled the symptoms and found a class action lawsuit settlement covering this issue for years 2004-2010 but not my 2011. I contacted the dealer who sent me to BMW customer relations only to be told sorry, but you are not covered. I am not sure what to do now, but I do know I will never purchase another BMW. See link to article above.

I have a 2004 BWM X5 4.4, sticker price of just under $66K in 2004 dollars. In August 2014 I installed a BMW trailer hitch so I could tow my travel trailer. I ordered the wiring harness for the lights at that time. They had been on BO nationally and in Germany for months at that point. Today Im told by BMWNA customer relations that BMW will no longer be providing that part for the older X5s. Im SOL.Its past their mandatory 10 federal regulation, so if you dont like it buy a new model to tow anything with. I currently own: 1999 BMW M Coupe, 2004 BMW X5, 2005 BMW K 1200LT. Previous: 2007 BMW K1200GT, 2002 BMW K1200RS, 2009 BMW R1200GS, 1995 BMW 318, 2004 BMW 750. Do you think I will buy another one? Is this any way to treat customers? Is a 10 Year old $66K vehicle really disposable? Shame on BMW for their practices and policies. Anyone else interested in filing a class action lawsuit?

I am very disappointed with the service I have received from the dealerships in the Atlanta, GA area. I purchased my car on January 15, 2015 and it was one of the proudest moments in my life. I have had to take the car in several time because of the oil leak and I was told by the 2 separate dealership that they cant find an oil leak. I took my car to a certified BMW mechanic and he informed me that there is a known oil leak with BMW 750li NG3 engine but BMW refuse to fix or change the engine. I got up this morning and wrote a letter of complaint and when I was looking for the Customer Complaint information for BMW I found this website. I went through and read all the posted complaints and I see I am not the only owner who is having oil leak and my air conditioner going out.It seem to be a big problem with BMWs and I am very disappointed but I refuse to drive a car that smokes, leaking oil and the air conditioner not cooling properly. I work for a major transportation company and I am going to be sure I let everyone I work with know the problems I am having with the so call Ultimate Driving Machine. Sounds like I bought a Lemon so if we are going for action lawsuit count me in. I agree that the 750li should considered a LEMON.

I bought 2013 BMW 328i xDrive in Sterling, VA. My car has 74k miles on it. This car brand new is about 40k. Total repair cost so far: - At 47k miles - transfer case cover failed. - Cost to repair - $7,500. - At 73k miles - Head display unit, where you see navigation & radio etc, froze and failed. - Cost to repair - $2,200. - At 73k miles - Engine valve cover gasket started leaking oil and the Sterling BMW told me that it is at 8 on a scale of 10 to leak fire and catch fire. - Cost to repair - $1,000. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS SO FAR - CLOSE TO $11,000 = CLOSE TO 25% OF NEW CAR PURCHASE PRICE.I have in my life never ever seen 25% repair costs in first 75k miles on any car I have driven. Highly disappointed and speechless. Thought this was a high end, high quality German built car. I called Sterling dealer, they said they acknowledge the repair price tag and agree that BMW North America should do something about it. So call BMW North America. They said I should have bought extended warranty - Ha!

This my 2nd BMW that I have owned. One was a 1999 530i, and now I have a 2011 535i. My issues are with the interior and water leaks. I feel that both are BMW problems and should be fixed at their expense. The water leaks are from the moisture barrier within the doors. You would think that with the technology today this would not be an issue.Yet here I am knee deep in water in my back floorboard. I have owned several different cars that were much older and never had a leak anywhere. I do not understand how BMW can claim this is the Ultimate driving machine. My interior issue is with the driver door grab. It is made with some kind of soft material. The problem is it melts due to the extreme heat. Living in the South, we have very hot summers. I do use sunscreens. However it doesnt help. I had to remove the material and now I am left with an ugly looking door grab. Needless to say I am out of pocket for these fixes, Both problems I believe are manufacturer defects. My local BMW service center is in agreement with my reasoning. However BMW wont fix anything. My next Ultimate driving machine wont be a BMW.

The husband and I both have BMWs. Mine is a 2010 and his is a 2011. After getting extremely crummy service at Fairfax BMW in Fairfax, VA, we decided to try Sterling BMW in Sterling, VA. Surely BMW doesnt hand out their Center of Excellence awards all willy-nilly-like, right? Well, apparently, they did in 2010. While there are many additional detailed points of their suckage, I will provide you the highlights:I took the 2010 in to get new tires. After spending $2000 on 4 new kicks mounted and balanced and alignment for the old girl, they wanted to charge us over $100 to fill the tires with Nitrogen. While I understand its a business, dont nickel and dime me when I just dropped $2000. After finally getting my car back, we drove it home. Traffic was a little rough that evening, so we werent going terribly fast. The next day, however, we noticed a major wobble. The vibration was so bad, the side mirrors were shaking. I got to work and felt like I had driven a jackhammer instead of my luxury car. I took it back in on Monday. They finally called on Tuesday, claiming it was two bad tires. Alright, fine. When we went to pick up my car, they couldnt find it. Let me repeat that. When I went to go rescue my car, they had misplaced it. It took the entire service department, a few of the sales guys and over an hour to find it. Immediately after picking it up, we magically had squeaky brakes that we had never had before. The sad thing is that Id rather listen to the brakes than to BMW Sterlings horrible excuses.During the same time, we had my husbands SUV in for several items that BMW Fairfax couldnt fix after repeated visits. These included brakes, slipping transmission, air conditioning and a rattle in the tailgate. They had the Bears car for over a week. They replaced the brakes and fixed the AC. They could not, however, recreate the slipping transmission and they said they could not hear the rattle, despite the fact that they let the technician drive our car home one night (Im still reeling at that one especially when they asked my husband if that would be okay and he said no)! Of course, we heard the rattle in the tailgate as soon as we left the dealership. Call us crazy, I guess. We changed from Audi over to BMW because of service issues. We had a 5 series and a Mini Cooper prior to getting our current cars. When we got these cars in San Francisco, we were in love with the cars and the dealership/service. At this point, we are about a millisecond away from switching to Mercedes. Apparently, our paltry two-car household matters not to the auto giant. Between the incompetence, attitude and just overall cheapness, I cant see spending another cent with BMW. Dare I say lemon? I dare.Ha! So we got a call from BMW USA. After playing phone tag for 3 weeks, the Rep rushed us through our side of what has happened. She kept saying she was sorry we felt that way anytime we mentioned how disappointed we were about the crummy service or the shoddy quality. When she asked what we wanted, DH mentioned we would love to be able to just settle things amicably without having to consult a lemon-law lawyer. She said that if that was what we wanted to do, go ahead. This doesnt bode well for their Customer Service. I will update with results.Update #2: We were promised a resolution within 3-5 business days. We are on the 4th business day and just got a call from BMW USA to tell us they dont have a resolution yet. Surprise, surprise. And, there is no update on when we will know something. We are not surprised one single bit, aside from the fact that they called at all. What do you want to bet that they will wait until we make our next payment in 6 days and then call to tell us they cant do anything?Update #3: My husband finally called and was told we would hear something early in the week during the week of 7/16. They are supposedly waiting to hear something from Fairfax BMW. Im not holding my breath.Another update: We were supposed to hear from Customer Service last week. Nada. DH called on Friday, 7/20, and asked for her extension. It rang and someone else answered. DH requested our rep and was asked what it was in regard to. He told her we are trying to give back our lemon. She said she would look up our case, looked up the information and surprise! She couldnt find anything. He asked then to get transferred to our reps phone and he left a message requesting a call back that day. Again, nothing. We got a call back from her today, 7/23. The phone didnt ring; we just got a voice mail. We called her back and havent heard a peep since then.We are giving her until tomorrow pm to get back with us and if we dont hear from her, we will be foregoing the niceties and proceeding directly past go to a lemon lawyer. In the midst of all this, other things have stopped working on the X5. The rear camera works occasionally, but it chooses when and where. The auto-telescoping steering wheel has stopped working. The transmission is still jerky. My opinion? Do not buy a BMW!

I have a 2008 BMW 328i which I purchased new and I purchased an extended warranty as well. I have multiple vehicles so I dont drive my vehicle often. The vehicle currently has around 14,000 miles on it. I took the vehicle in yesterday because it appeared there was a problem with the battery. My husband received a phone call today from BMW in Elk Grove, advising that the battery needs to be replaced and is not covered under the warranty because I dont drive it enough (driver error). The price of a new battery is $453 (he claims this is with a 15% discount) and the battery must be purchased from a BMW dealership because it could create a problem for the computer if purchased from an auto parts store. The BMW representative stated that it would have been covered had it been a defective battery, but the computer states that I dont drive it enough. He stated that I will need to keep it on a trickle charger when not in use. I have kept up on all of my maintenances and services, which were completed at BMW and not once did a BMW representative advise me that I could be running into a problem with the battery because of my low mileage. At this point I am just livid that I have babied my vehicle. I purchased an extended warranty and I have to come out of pocket $453. At this point I have no choice but to pay the $453; however, I feel that this should have been covered by the warranty and not been viewed as operator error.

So I leased a 2020 430 convertible in July 2019. A month later driving the car in 90° weather after two hours of driving the air-conditioning broke. Brought the car back to the dealership, they said the problem was fixed. A month later same situation. Brought it back, he said it was fixed. The following summer in 90° weather same situation after a few hours of driving air-conditioning stopped. Brought it to a different dealership, problem was fixed, it was not. Currently two weeks ago in June, driving back from the Jersey shore and 98° weather I stopped at a rest stop and left my daughter and my dog in the car. When I came back I found that the air conditioner had stopped, my daughter who has down syndrome, my dog suffered mild heatstroke. Contacted Bmw multiple times. They tell me that nothing is wrong with the car. And have yet to buy me out of my lease. So worst company ever, this car is a lemon. There’s nothing but problems with these BMWs. Do not purchase or lease then.

My car stopped on me going out of town on the weekend and needed a tow. I contacted BMW roadside from the number in my trunk and set up service to be towed to BMW of Manhattan and I prepaid 139.00 from my debit for the service. I called the service center at BMW of Manhattan to assure security and lockup information and was told that they could not accommodate that and they closed at 5pm. So I knew the car wouldnt arrive on time because it was a little after four when I called back roadside and made reservations for the car to be stored at the towing company until Monday morning but I had to upgrade the amount I paid from 139.00 to 169.00 because of storage time. I was told the first payment couldnt be reimbursed over the phone but that Id receive it in three to five business days. I continued out of town on the 30th through Greyhound and returned on the fifth. I kept running into the resistance of phone tag when I returned but finally got through with email correspondence. When I visited the BMW of Manhattan location I spoke about the issues and options concerning the car. The 189.00 payment for diagnostic and the issues that needed to be addressed. I was told I needed the alternator replaced and battery fixed then another diagnostic needed to be done to see what caused the recharger to stop charging and the battery to die. I explained that I had some one oil the car and wanted to know if that could be the cause because he used oil that was not suggested by my previous mechanic; it was Mobile synthetic and I wanted to make sure it hadnt shocked my system causing the car to fail (BMW 750i 2006). I also didnt want to pay for a diagnosis and fix it only to pay for another diagnosis and realize my system was shot. I feel he should have been able to give me that information the first time opposed to being charged so many times. The service area associate assured me it was not the oil but he needed to fix the car first then re-diagnose.So, I asked about the financial assistance program that I was told they didnt have. I was also told if the car was fixed and not picked up Id be charged 85 dollars a day for storage. So I asked the service adviser Denise ** did she have the information for the towing company. I wanted the car towed back to she said No. I then stated I have it in my papers I will call and have it picked up and she replied I do have it. She gestured to a folder in front of her and she said Ill call and make the arrangement and the car will be picked up Monday (This was a Saturday again and they closed at 5).Its been two weeks now since the car broke down and I have not received my reimbursement. I called BMW roadside. They cannot give any information or a telephone number to speak with someone who can explain why I dont have my 139.00 back. The woman on the phone sounded unusually uncomfortable and told me I had to send a letter to the claims department. Thats all the information she could give me; that there was no number I could call. I expressed my concerns about no contact by phone and not receiving a follow up (which she said I should have gotten). Ive googled and cannot find a number for BMW claims or reimbursement and they insist they cant help me on the phone.I called BMW of Manhattan and was greeted nasty. I wanted to know where had the car been delivered to and the woman on the phone said It was delivered to the shop where I was having it fixed (she said it wasnt there). I told her I didnt make arrangements and wheres my car. She told me to hold on and transferred me to Denise ** who said she never made the arrangements and never agreed to it. We went back and forth on the phone till I finally asked wheres the car and she said Its still in the service area. Today is 10/13/17 and the car has been there since 10/02/17.I think BMW of Manhattan is a in every area from the financial assistance to having the car fixed and also on delivery. The attitude of the managing staff Ive run into is very unethical. I feel its bad business to take my money and now I have to chase it and get spoken to rudely. There system is not put together professionally; unless theyre just common thieves. I would like my money returned and car delivered and as I write this long (hour-some) letter the email had still not generated on my phone for an update (as she called it). BMW gets no stars from me. I wish I never bought the car. (I wanted an Impala.)Oh, and when I returned to my car to retrieve stuff from my trunk. They had left food in the car that was rotting for the time it was there. The windows were rolled down and big flies were in my car. I had little groceries in the car and though it might not be their job, if you are working on it and its in your garage common courtesy and your environment should have made you throw away sour milk, juice and hamburger meat. (Im just saying.) But Im not on fb so I wont. ;) I didnt know Id need receipts at the end for this but I can furnish upon request.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i and experienced the same issue that is being recalled on the 2010- 012 models. I now own a CPO 2011 335i and the starting my car sounds as if the car hasnt been cranked in 2 months. While in park the engine is super loud and revs for no apparent reason. The dealerships are nothing but vacuums for money. After having a tire replaced for the 2008 at one dealership, the water pump failed less than 5 feet of the service garage door; but I was told this was normal and could happened. Please note that the car never had any warning signs of overheating or loss of a/c power or anything. This was $1200 to fix. The service manager was smug and uninterested in my concerns. His only offer was to allow me to leave my car on their premises and charge me a fair rate for renting a car. On the same 2008 model, I was driving on the expressway and out of the blue my car loses engine power and goes into safe mode. This was $800 to fix. I contacted BMW customer care and the rep couldve cared less, telling me I was out of warranty and nothing they could do about it. If this automaker cared anything for their customers they would deliver superior products and superior customer service. Unfortunately, this automaker fall short on both.

The 2001 BMW R1150 GS is a fabulous motorcycle. A beast of a motorcycle. Well engineered and tough it will take you where miles are afraid to tred! The R1150 GS has power to spare. Surprising lower and performance. My last motorcycle was a 2003 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster. I was impressed with the power of that Harley but this 1150 BMW puts it to shame. The BMW is smooth yet robust. The 6-speed gearing has a wide range. I especially like third gear! A handful of throttle feels like you are blasting off to the moon! At age 67 I only rode my BMW mildly off road on my own farm and then only over improved dry pastures! Mine has just over 31,450 miles at the time of this review! My bike was fully serviced and ready to ride anywhere when I purchased it second hand. The tires were just 1 year old with just 1,000 miles on them. I am 67 years old and recently purchased this BMW motorcycle in September 2021, however it is too tall for me to ride comfortably and safely. I have a 30" inseam but riders need longer legs to safely handle this motorcycle. I thought about lowering the suspension but these GS BMW's are too nice to alter. So I purchased a second BMW R1200C Pheonix last week which suits my stride much better. I do not need two BMW motorcycles so I am reluncticly parting with my GS. This is what Cycle World Magazine had to say about the BMW R1150 GS: BMW R1150GS - BEST USED BIKES Exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. Cycle World July 22, 2015 YEARS SOLD: 2000–2004 MSRPNEW: $14,190 ('00) to $14,500 ('04) BLUE BOOK RETAIL VALUE: $4,885 ('00) to $6,500 ('04)BASIC SPECS: The R1150GS is powered by an 1,130cc air-/oil-cooled, four-stroke opposed twin featuring four valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, and shaft drive. The 1150 introduced a six-speed gearbox, while later models came equipped with dual spark plug heads and servo-assisted combined ABS brakes. The GS weighs 582 pounds WET with its 5.5-gallon fuel tank topped up and produced 74 hp and 68 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheel on the Cycle World dyno. The "Showa" suspension offers 7.9 inches of rough road-smoothing travel, while the adjustable saddle height (33.1 to 33.8 inches) accommodates a range of riders. WHY IT'S DESIRABLE: Few bikes have proven to be as versatile as the GS BMW Beemer family, with the 1150 exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. It's a road-hardened touring mount and heavyweight dual-sport all wrapped in one. "I went places and saw things on the GS that I never would have on another bike," Mark Hoyer remarked back in the days before he was editor-in-chief. "It truly makes molehills out of mountains." All that, plus the reputation of durability and reliability rivaling that of an anvil easily warrant the price of purchase. THE COMPETITION: Long-travel twins gained prominence in the early 2000s with the introduction of the KTM 950 Adventure and 1,000cc Ducati Multistrada. Undoubtedly, this trend was helped along by the BMW R1150GS, which was honored as the Best Sport-Touring Bike of 2000 by Cycle World in our Ten Best issue.

Love this car (X1) great value for the price. It drives beautifully and has UNBELIEVABLE radius. Its extremely solid and easy to keep clean. However, its small inside and will not fit standard car seats. Also, the beeping and chimes are total overkill and cause anxiety. The clock cannot be seen well. The worst part is the locks. You cannot open the door and then immediately open the back door or hatch. It requires crawling back in to push the unlock button TWICE and the button is near the center instead of the door. Dumb and difficult spot! But we feel safe in this car.

My overall experience with my BMW 4-Series Grand Coupe model: sports ride, awesome performance and sleek style. I like the navigation package because visually it is appealing and has several functionalities that are easy to use. The heated steering heats up to a comfortable setting for my hands. The heated seats, front and back, is extremely useful for my family on cold days. The seats are typical for a sports car. However, for a BMW, I expect that the seat should be more comfortable. Right now, the seats are too hard and very uncomfortable. I do not like the seats at all. In fact, I use Anne sit on a cushion in the not comfortable.

I placed a new vehicle order for a BMW X5 in September 2014, at BMW Monrovia, CA. BMW North America (NA) changed the delivery date several times. I had no confidence in them but my sales guy kept telling me different stories why they had to put off the delivery. I finally got my vehicle in November 2014. BMW NA then said they would give me a goodwill check ($1,028) for late delivery.I started to have a nightmare for this check. After two months I did not see the check, I went to ask my sale guy at the dealership. He later told me BMW NA sent a $500 check to my previous address. (My sales guy made a mistake by giving BMW NA that address as I had not lived there for two years). He said he had contacted BMW NA several times to ask for the check. It appears no one there was taking care of this matter. After hard pursuit, I finally had my check delivered to me in May 2015. That is six months later after they made their promise. I had to chase after my sales guy who was lazy by not advising me timely what was going on with this matter. The experience was horrible. There was no such thing called customer service with BMW NA. It is shame you have to keep chasing after them closely for more than six months to do their work. It is a shame with BMW NA.

For the past 6 months I have been experiencing problems with my iPhone 5S and my bluetooth. It has been at the dealer (Budds BMW, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) no less than 6 times to address this issue. The service manager has witnessed the problem and has escalated the problem to BMW Canada and furthered the issue to Germany. Finally, BMW claims to have duplicated the issue and tell me that it is only on certain models of the X5. In any case, the dealer has been reasonable in providing me with a courtesy car while my X5 has been in their shop even though it has been a huge inconvenience to me.Please note, at BMWs insistence I have replaced 2 iPhone 5s and invested all the time necessary to make these changes. I am in corporate sales and rely heavily on the use of my phone while driving. I have chosen apple for all of my products (MacBook, iPhone a number of chargers (6) also the convenience of the icloud)..... especially Siri that allows me to concentrate on driving while Siri reads and dictates my emails and text messages safely. BMW has told me that my only option is to switch to an Android platform phone. They have given this proposal as a take it or leave it. Android phones do not offer a fraction of the features that an iPhone does. I asked BMW Canada when they will have the bluetooth issue resolved. Their reply was that they were working on it with Apple but they did not know when. BMW claims that they cannot be responsible for keeping up with manufacturers software (assuming that is the case, please consider..... of the courtesy BMWs provided by them to me the dealer, I have not experienced one single issue with the bluetooth using the same phone.) In closing, I confess to enjoying my X5 very much; however, this bluetooth issue renders my vehicle unusable given the importance of my phone while driving. Here in Ontario, it is against the law to operate your vehicle without handsfree. I have spoken with both the dealer and BMW Canada that I am not unreasonable and would consider moving to a similar vehicle along with accepting there would be an additional cost involved that should be shared by all parties. I remain open to suggestions/options but BMW is only offering a take it or leave it regarding a change to an Android device. They are not willing to entertain anything else. Regarding the Android device...... I will leave it. My family and friends all drive premium vehicles and are watching the way BMW is dropping the ball. Switch your phone as your only option...... Are you kidding me?!!!!

I just want to let you know that BMW engineers seem to do a pretty good job mechanically with design, but they are terrible at designing electrical systems. Between my two Z3s, one is the M-series, I now had to replace the ** drivers harness five times! The airbag system design is horrific and I am sick of hassling with this. Terrible. BMW should have recalled all of their affected cars. I will never buy BMW again! Look up BMW airbag light on Google! A lot of people have had this problem. A lot.

Im leasing a 2017 230i xDrive Convertible. In one year and 12K miles, Ive already had to replace 3 run flat tires at a cost of $400-$500. Now I know why I was offered insurance at the time of my lease, which I didnt take. Ive never needed it before. No one explained the issues with these tires. Now I find myself either having to make a one time payment of $1,300 for the insurance for the remainder of my lease; put regular tires on the car but run the risk of damaging the transfer case ($4-5K repair) or continuing replacing tires every time I hit a pothole. This is my Ultimate Driving Experience; NOT!!! Horrific experience; never again; a total disappointment.

I leased my BMW 328i - Jan 2013. All the wheels where the brakes are, shows a lot of rust. I went to my dealer Motorwerks of Barrington, IL and the service person/and manager looked at it and said it’s a normal wear & tear, however since I was not satisfied with the answer, so I called BMW of North America Customer service and Rep told me that it can be fixed and is included and is part of my Warranty. And so she conference the line with service manager who instead of servicing this issue accused me that I abused my car with an Acid pour?? Seriously ?? You are talking about selling a 43k worth of piece of ** AND THEN BLAME IT ON TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?? They are not only unprofessional but THUGS who SHY away from their Jobs!!!! However it is so much of shame that such a Reputable Brand like BMW is having these issues and problem with their expensive piece of Junks!!! And are unable to fix em! Can’t wait for my lease to be up and then bye-bye to them. Never going to send my valuable money and time on this Brand Name.

I have owned 3 new BMW 3 series, prior to this purchase - this being #4. On Saturday, March 2, I went into the sales department at BMW Roxbury, NJ. I wanted to trade my 2009 330xi (purchased exec demo model) fully loaded for a new leased vehicle. After 5 hours an overly long and drawn out negotiation, and after being physically and mentally exhausted, we agreed to a deal. The first offer provided to me on my trade-in value for my car, which was at 50,000 miles, was $15k… A few hours later, and after many back and forths on lease options, monthly payments, etc., they begrudgingly offered me $17k, justifying the low amount for a windshield that had been cracked and filled by Safelite previously, and 4 worn tires. The car was in impeccable condition otherwise, and BMW assured me they could only retail it for $19k.On March 5, after only 2 days of actually driving the car, I experienced a horrifying issue - I lost the throttle in my car in 2nd and 3rd gears. I was on a 60-mile drive back to my home at night by myself, and while in stop-and-go local traffic, accelerating and merging onto a major highway, and then in local traffic again, I found I had lost any and all throttle over first gear. My speed dropped from 60 mph to 35 mph in seconds and without warning. I narrowly escaped, I would say, at least 10 precarious situations that were nearly horrible accidents. I ended up driving the car straight into the dealer in Roxbury fearing for my safety. They had the car until March 8. Service told me they dont know what caused the issue - they couldnt reproduce it - and asked me all kinds of insulting questions, inferring that maybe I didnt understand how to drive a manual transmission when Ive driven one for nearly 20 years. Or, maybe I just didnt understand the auto start and stop feature, or maybe I just couldnt differentiate scenarios during which it would be appropriate for a car to either go or to stop”. They said they spoke with BMW engineers who told them it could have been a faulty fan sensor and fan, which would have cut the throttle to protect an engine overheat. Brand new car, no issue showing on the temperature gauge. Car was returned late Friday night. While I was waiting for the car that Friday, I found the flyer for the resale of my traded-in 2009 330. They had created a sticker for $21,959... about $5k more than what they have given me on the trade-in. Nearly a 25% margin on my trade in. I kept the flyer for my own records. On March 13, again on a late night drive back to my home, the same issue happened. Same real danger of accident and this time I had a friend following me who witnessed the behavior of the car. I called the morning of March 14 and Service offered to come pick up the car for service and drop off the loaner. Its now March 15 and I havent heard a status yet. I paid the $499 initial monthly lease payment on March 2 and BMW has had the car for 7 of the 13 days its been in my possession. At this point, I would like to return the car for a full refund since it is neither safe, reliable, enjoyable or usable... and I would like my 2009 330 back and to walk away from BMW and never look back!

Re: 2007X3. Many times since, approximately the vehicle had 60K miles, prior to my 100k miles warranty running out, even though I was experiencing problems with my transmission (i.e. not shifting properly, clunking when shifting, noise and jerking when shifting), the Service Dept. told me there was nothing wrong. Now that I have 120k miles on it and my X3 will not go into AWD, I am told by Erhard that my transmission differential needs a $1,400 repair. I have never missed maintenance and at the last maintenance, I was complaining about my transmission.I would like my transmission problem fixed at no cost to me. It seems BMW, blew me off to get me through until my warranty was up (extended to 100k that I paid for). Very disappointing and too costly for me. My wife and I both own BMWs and will be going to a different make vehicle because of the deceitful treatment I have received. Something should be done about BMWs lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of warranty issues.

I own a BMW X3 in the Philippines that is 5 years old, has been owned by me from new, always serviced by BMW and has 30k km on the clock. Recently the warning lights went on and it made a loud engine noise. BMW checked it over and told me that the transfer case needed replacement and that it would cost 200,000 pesos (USD 4,500). I checked on the internet about the transfer case and discovered that this was a common fault, that actually related to a plastic gear in the actuator. It seemed that the plastic gear problem was so common that a replacement was made and sold on Amazon.com. I bought the plastic gear for USD 50 and replaced the obviously worn gear in the actuator, perfect solution, no further problem. I tried to contact BMW in Munich because it seemed that BMW Philippines were being less than customer oriented. I assumed that BMW would be upset at such a bizarre situation. I was continuously referred back to Singapore, the regional headquarters, who constantly referred me back to Autozentrum, the Philippine agent. I finally got a letter from BMW in Singapore who told me it was their policy to only replace units, not parts in units. I tried to explain that this seemed to be disingenuous as the actuator gear was clearly a poor design and that charging USD 4,500 when a USD 50 part was obviously the solution, was penalizing a good customer and seemed to be short sighted. They sent me a curt note saying their policy was clear. My only advice is to buy a Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, Jeep, anything, but never a BMW.

We bought a used 2007 550I from Momentum Southwest Houston BMW. It were all lies from the start. The salesman tells us the car has to have special tires, which were on the car and they installed 2 of them. On the test drive, the salesman would not show us how to use the paddle shifters SMG 6 speed. After 6 weeks of begging for a manual and spare key, we finally got a manual and key which we had to pay for. The paddle shifters do not work, as well as the driver seat thigh support motor. One cold 40 degree morning, the check engine light comes on. When my wife got home, I put my scan tool on it. The thermostat is bad stuck open and we took it to dealer as we bought warranty. The warranty company says it does not cover all pre-existing conditions. I talked to the GM at the dealer and they offered to replace the seat motor and repair the paddle shifters for free. While it was there, they call and tell us that all front and rear control arms are bad and needed to be replaced. With an alignment of roughly $2100, I told them Ill take care of the thermostat and suspension. I install lift kits in trucks for a living, and the parts for MOOG are cheaper, but the dealer wants $1800 for parts. MOOG parts at retail are $249.00, I can do the math. We can take it back there for alignment if they dont try to jerk us around for something else. I wont probably buy another one. What a **. We drive off the lot, it depreciates and needs $5000.00 worth of repairs before we get it home.

Cairo BMW service center informed me that the coolant has to be replaced. Im wondering that an expensive car manufactured by reputable company, an important part gets faulty within 3 years after 42,000 km which is not happening in cheap cars. The problem is not only the cost of replacement but what hurts me is driving long way in sandy and hot weather with no AC and the cost of renting a car while my BMW is being fixed. This makes me hesitant to depend on my BMW car again, although it is not the case with BMW brand name. Please advise what to do. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.

I am leasing a 2017 BMW 330i BMW. I really like my BMW car. On Sunday July the 30th my daughter and her daughter three month old baby girl were in the back seat in my BMW. My daughter ask if I would stop her Wendys at 3041 Headland Dr. When my daughter got out of the car to go into Wendys her daughter was asleep. I was sitting in the first seat on my phone. After about two minutes later I heard my granddaughter crying. I opened my door to get out and to get in the back seat with my three month old granddaughter. I shut the drivers door and went to open the back door and it was locked and went back to open the drivers door which I had just got out of and it was locked also. I checked all doors and they were all locked. I was devastated. My three month granddaughter was lock in the car and crying. I could not understand this at all because my keys to the car was still in the car and the car was still running. I was so upset, I ran into Wendys to tell my daughter and to ask for help. All this time my three month old granddaughter was in the car still crying really bad. My daughter and about six other people ran out of Wendys to my car to help. Because all doors were locked a young lady had to break the back window on the BMW for us to get the door open to get my granddaughter. We got my granddaughter out ok but she did have broken glass all over her from the young lady breaking the window. Your BMW Lover.

I bought a new 2013 BMW 328xi and at 17,000 kilometers I experienced shuddering when braking. Upon further inspection I was told my brake rotors were rusted grooved badly. Contacted my BMW dealer, and he promptly told me that brakes are not warranted, and it would cost $900 to replace them. There was very little wear on the pads or rotors - I questioned why I would replace them with BMW brakes, as the first set rusted out in only 17,000 kms???? And the new ones were NOT warrantied also!!!!!BMW head office in Germany emailed me that you must dry off your rotors after theyre wet!!!!!! My local service place laughed and said that that was almost impossible short of taking all the wheels off!!!!!! Normally car companies do not warrant brakes because they are considered a wear item, which makes sense, but mine were NOT worn! I replaced the rotors and pads with aftermarket ones that WERE warranted and would not rust! I am now taking BMW to court to get my $900 back. BMW were not even interested in finding out what conditions would cause the brakes on a $60,000 car would rust out before the FIRST oil change was even due. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem.

Very pretty color and we enjoyed the car dealerships low pressure, friendly and helpful attitude. Phone interaction and price were all attractive to us. My BMW had been sitting at the auto shop garage lot for a couple of weeks being looked over. I get a call from the garage owner early one morning that my BMW had caught on fire. I could not believe this! How could a car that had been sitting for weeks and had not been driven just catch on fire. The fire marshal investigated the matter and determined that indeed it was an electrical fire. I called BMW to make them aware of this situation. To my surprise the BMW representative told me that it was not an issue that BMW felt responsible for. I could not believe that this was BMW position regarding the quality of their cars. I was being told that because the car was not immediately under warranty BMW was not responsible. It was my position that here you have a supposed quality car that catches on fire just sitting. What company would not back their product in such a situation? I have a 16 month old son who was riding in this car on a daily basis before taking it in for maintenance. He could have died in this fire! BMW showed no concern or consideration in this matter. I will never buy another BMW if it was the last car on earth! Readers beware!!!

Purchased a 2006 750li with 36k miles. Had it 8 months so far, in what I thought was good condition only to find out that its riddled with problems and manufacturer defects. First, key fob went dead, required car to be towed to the dealer losing a week of use and $1500. Two months later, the water pump went out and was informed that the vacuum pump was leaking oil. The control arm bushings were bad and the power brake was leaking as well. $9500 later everything was supposed to be fixed, a week into the repair the restraint system developed a fault. Reading online, it seems not only that BMW is aware of the problem but recalled the power brake issue and the restraint system issue, however, when calling BMW of Dallas, I was informed they could not cover the repairs. When I mentioned previous repairs they said these are normal wear items. Since when do all the control arm bushings, vacuum pump and water pump go out at 40k miles. I paid a lot of money for this car and expect BMW to honor their vehicles problems instead of pointing fingers and trying to put blame elsewhere. I am being quoted $2200 for a new seat belt module bringing my grand total repair bill to over $15000.00 for a car thats worth $30k. I understand normal wear and maintenance but the repairs in question should not be considered wear and tear at this stage or mileage in the vehicles run.

I have had a love affair with BMW since the mid 1990s, however Im sorry to say that relationship is on the rocks. Having had 3 brand new BMW cars and one new BMW motorcycle I can now say that BMW quality is no longer a corporate mandate, just a slogan. What was once (with proper care) a vehicle that you could rely on, be proud of and enjoy has become the brand of what next. I say this as my X3 sits in a service bay to replace the drivers side mirror which fell off! $1300 To replace something not broken not damaged but the latest in a long line part failures that was preceded by a motorcycle that I literally had to throw away. WHAT? Yes a 2003 R1200C with less than 12000 miles stored in my hanger that in 2014 turned into junk because of cheap manufacturing processes, poor quality wiring and metal plating that literally fell off. Sound familiar, among exterior body reflectors and interior parts that have fallen off or delaminated on the X3 the one that has convinced me is the drivers door handle that is slowly turning into black goop and when I showed it to the service writer he said and I quote On the earlier models you had to replace the entire door panel.... As I said in the beginning not worth the money, because you are paying for quality that is no longer there.

I purchased this BMW 330i vehicle used and while I got it for a great deal, Ive had issues with it ever since. First, the engine went out then had issues with the car stalling. Not so good luck with the vehicle. It dawned on me that the previous owners probably did not take care of the vehicle which is why it had so many issues. Nevertheless, the car does have good features such as heated seats. I also like how the battery is located in the back. The car is really good in bad weather conditions such as snow and ice. I also like how there is a computerized screen which has various options on it for service and radio. Still, I would definitely fix some of the maintenance features of the vehicle and make it so that any mechanic can fix the issue without needing a code from the BMW dealer. I would also change it or have it so that when there is an electrical failure, there is a way to override using the windows and unlocking and locking the doors. With those main issues fixed I would enjoy the vehicle so much more.

I bought a certified BMW X3 with 9000 mileage back in 2012. The car has given more issues with drivetrain than any other car. This past Wednesday the engine died. Now in need of new engine. That piece of crap gave me no warning. Just stop on the highway. Endanger my safety. We all need to get together to have class action lawsuit against BMW. It make no sense that my friend had been driven a KIA has no issues and I purchase this expensive car. I experienced more trouble than driving the damn thing. I hope consumerAffairs can do something about this issues. I will never own a BMW. Not reliable.

I was driving my BMW 320d in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. A big speeding truck came from the opposite side and some water on road truck splashed onto the bonnet and front grill of the car and the car stopped immediately. I had to leave the car without trying to start the engine again. The next day, Krishna automobiles, Ludhiana (authorized dealers in Ludhiana of BMW) took away the car on my request.

The tyre of left side both front and rear crack at ones on running condition on 22nd Dec 2018 on smooth road in a speed of 50 to 60 km/hr. Now see the quality of material using by this brand. The agency persons of Ranchi are not able to clear the reason. And also they are worst in giving updates. I had drived my car approx 14000 km and BMW given me this gift. On August 24, 2014 I purchased a used 2009 BMW 335i with 58,213 miles. Unfortunately, from the time I drove vehicle off parking lot, it has been nothing but a money pit. I will start out with when I had to return the car to dealership shortly after purchase because the sunroof did not work properly. The problem was fixed, however it was just the beginning because more problems ensued and it seems like there is no end in sight. Not long after, check engine light is always on, I think it is the oil, even though it is about three months that I have car. I take car to get oil changed only to find out that it needs new shocks. I paid handsomely for new shocks in hopes that I am good with car. However, when I collected the vehicle and started using it again, a problem still existed. Three weeks later, I take it back to mechanic and they do a diagnostics test and determine that its the engine! The engine cylinders are misfiring. I havent had this car for 6 months and there is a major problem. My warranty was up but I was led to believe with the 82 point inspection that I had a good car, I mean its a BMW. Engine problems are big deals which is why I had to contact the dealership. The person who sold the car to me, took car to get checked out with the dealerships BMW service. The diagnosis I was given was that I needed to be using high quality gas and dont go below a quarter of a tank before refilling. I was then sent on my way. I was patient but two months pass and check engine light still lighting up. My car is shaking and I now know I have a LEMON of an expensive car. I actually took car to the San Antonio BMW dealership because I wanted to know if they had seen the car and I was told that dealership never brought the car in to check for misfires. So I contacted dealership again and thankfully, management agreed have the engine cylinder misfires fixed. After that repair they were done with me. I really felt that all problems were resolved and now I must maintain and keep up with repairs that would happen as more mileage was put on the car. I had forgotten that I actually had a lemon of a car. My nightmare was really about to begin. In August, it will be three years since the purchase of this 2009 BMW which currently has approximately 97,200 miles. Here is the rundown on repairs since purchase, however I may have left some out: Water pump, New tires (the warranty dealership sold me was bogus), Coolant, Serpentine belt, Air conditioning, Brakes, Oil pan gasket, Valve cover gasket, Oil hoses, Engine drive belt and tensioner, Spark plugs, Direct engine coils, Upper and lower pulleys. As of today, the car is in the shop because it turns out that the reason the power steering belt keeps breaking (second time it was replaced was in April 2017 so this is third time to replace) is because there is a crack in a mounting bracket of the power steering pump. Mind you, I had taken the car to the BMW dealership for a diagnostics test on June 27 June 30, 2017 because the car had been running in limp mode since May which is dangerous especially driving during rush hours to and from work. Our mechanics diagnosis suggested it could be an indicator that the high pressure fuel pump needs to be replaced and mechanic did not want to work on it in the event that it was the high pressure fuel pump which is under warranty and only the BMW dealership is able to replace. The car was at dealership for three days for diagnostics only to find out that it was not the high pressure fuel pump but the low pressure fuel pump sensor. Upon reflection, I learn that not all issues with car can be determined with diagnostics otherwise that power steering bracket crack would have been revealed since I was having to replace the belt for the third time. The costs for repairs are power steering problem is approximately $1100 and fuel sensor approximately $500, I hope. Fuel sensor pump is scheduled to be fixed this Thursday with the dealership but now I will probably have to rescheduled since I just had to pay $1305 for the spark plugs, coils and valve cover gasket. Total costs thus far, are well over $11,000 and rising after this repair be worked on now. No worries I have receipts. I have been so frustrated and overwhelmed with these car problems that no one should have to deal with in this short period of time for a presumably well-made top of the line car. I have been inconvenienced because of the many times of being carless and have taken time off from work to get car repaired because mechanics do not work weekends and as a teacher I have to schedule based on my teaching schedule. I contacted BMW North America because I wanted to know if these problems are typical and if I had any recourse to consider. They take no responsibility for a lemon of a car and advised that I contact the dealership who sold me the car because they had no records on the maintenance of the car. I also informed the lienholder because the cost of repairs and still owning on the car just doesnt make any sense to hold on to a lemon of a car. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE BUY A BMW! I understand maintenance and replacing parts but geez this car started falling apart at 60,000 miles. Now the only recourse I have is to trade in car while I am upside down and buy something safer and less expensive because I cant afford more repairs. Amazing how these top of the line car manufacturers take no accountability for such poorly manufactured cars. I was suckered by the name brand and thinking it made it a better vehicle. Live and learn.

I have had my X5 for over 2 years now, I bought it brand new from passport BMW in MD. I have had issues for about 2 years now with the camera. At one time it just would be blurry then it went dark. I took it to the dealer, they said they had replaced it but no sooner it started acting up again, sometime when I would have the car in drive it would attempt to come on. (I was told when I called that it was the hot weather that was affecting the camera operation). I called BMW corporate, someone called back a couple of times but was never able to get the dealership to resolve this issues as he had promised. I have a 2011 BMW 528i Sedan. Bought as a CPO, with factory warranty for about a year remaining at the time of purchase. From the beginning, I have noticed that trying to brake moderately quickly at low speeds (10 - 20 MPH) would create a very bad clunk from the front-end. Trying to reapply the brake quickly while the car is starting to roll (driving off) will cause a smaller clunk and a very noticeable vibration of the whole body of the car. Dealer replaced the thrust-rod bushings in the front, but that did not fix it.Later, the dealer (perhaps under instructions from BMW?) started claiming that the clunk was normal, since it was found in other 5-series cars!! They would simply not regard the fact that other BMW cars dont exhibit the same problem, and heck, even the non-luxury cars from Honda / Toyota / Nissan / Hyundai / GM / Ford etc. etc. dont exhibit this problem!!Now I am close to the expiration of factory warranty. In the last month or so, I have started noticing a metallic knock from the rear axle area when braking at 15-20 MPH speed, a clicking noise from the front passenger door while slowing down, various creaks/squeaks from various parts of the body at random while driving, unusually heavy rattling from the driver and front passenger doors/windows on rough pavement...I have taken the car to the dealer for these various noises, and the dealer has not been able to replicate these noises, other than just one rattle from the coin box. A LOT OF PROBLEMS, in one sentence. To make matters worse, MOST of the things outside the power-train seem to be excluded under the BMW CPO warranty. I am not really sure what to do, as the factory warranty is about to expire in just two weeks..

Got a flat on tires designed to go 50 miles, but only got 5 miles before it was on the rim. Didnt know I didnt have a spare... never told me when leasing my 2014 X5. The nice lady on the roadside assistance call, said that she would send a tow truck to tow my car 60 miles (I would have to pay and be reimbursed by BMW) to the nearest dealer, but that unfortunately, since it was Sunday night and I was 150 miles from home, in the rain, that I would have to find a place to stay. Again at my expense, and find a way to get to that dealer, 60 miles away and get my car back on Monday sometime.... I didnt, called friends who came and fixed the flat. Then on Monday BMW said sorry for your inconvenience, expense and disappointment.... but thats the way it is, and the expense of the tire, rim, and service was mine... since I didnt have insurance. THIS IS MY 4th BMW (all had spares). THIS IS MY LAST BMW.

Also, he said BMW that doesnt leak oil is not a BMW (sarcastic). $2000 job, thanks God I bought the extended warranty. My last car was a 2002 Acura mdx, drove 9 years, put 187,000 miles, never leak any oil and the only money I spent in that car was a tune up I did when the car was around 120.000 miles. My next car will be a Lexus gx460, the real ultimate drive machine!! Bmw is good for the rich people, they lease for 2 years then return and get another one. I bought a brand new BMW 530i in 2004. Since I am an independent consultant in the software industry and often work at home, I dont drive that much so until yesterday, it has only about 80,000 miles on it. I was driving on a bridge in San Francisco Bay Area in a slow traffic yesterday, both transmission and engine burned down suddenly (with regular maintenance). The car has been giving me troubles from the first week after I bought it. Whenever I drove in slow traffic, the on board computer will show a warning to tell me Transmission Fault. I have to pull over to turn the engine off and turn it back on again; otherwise, I cant drive it.My BMW - I was told the three letters can be translated into Dont Touch Me into Chinese - finally dead yesterday. I paid $400 to tow it to a BMW (dont touch me!) dealership near where I live, and just got a call from them and told me the total cost to repair is more than $16,000. My name is Nina ** and Im based out of Mumbai, India. After seeing the many advertisements on the television, I bought the very expensive BMW 7 series which cost me about 1 cr rupees. I bought the car in Nov 2009 and I have used it very carefully and sparingly without giving it to a single driver. The car has run only 18000 kms so far and has been regularly serviced by the authorized service centers of BMW on time as prescribed by the BMW company. Last month in July I drove my car from Mumbai to Pune and it was a rainy day. I parked my car and went to stay in a hotel overnight with all doors and windows completely shut. When I came to the car the next day, I found that my car was completely flooded with about 40-50 liters of water only on the left hand side of only the back side.We used 1 liter Bisleri bottles to remove and we removed water for about 2 hours manually from my 7 series BMW. When the water was completely removed, we started to drive back from Pune to Mumbai. Only drive back I noticed that the car was filling up again as fast as about 10 liters in 30 minutes so we stopped the car every 30 minutes to empty the car of the water. We were very worried for our life while this was happening as we were worried that the water in the car will interfere with the electricals of the car and the car could catch fire. However, when we returned, we sent the car to the authorized BMW service center - Navnit Motors. They told us that the water had filled up inside the car because apparently the car has some vent which sends the rain water out of the car. However this vent got choked so instead of the rain water going out of the car, it started coming inside the car. Now I dont understand this - as this is the basics of any car. I have never heard of something like going happening in even small segment cars like Tata Nano, Fiat Taxis, Hyundai i10, etc, Maruti 800, etc. I cant understand how a luxury car like BMW 7 series can get something so basic wrong wherein a car which is regularly serviced by the BMW authorized service centers can flood up during monsoon from inside and make its passengers do work like removing water from the car and throw it out of the window. Its supposed to be a luxury car which is supposed to give immense joy and that is why they are charging a hefty price for it. But what I have experienced is barely joy. Sir, I need your help in getting justice as BMW thinks that it is my fault that this has happened to me and they have raised a service repair bill of 38000 for this and along with it they have raised a bill for million other things which were not wrong in the car and they are saying that I need to pay them 150,000 rupees for random other jobs which are as crazy as this. Sir, how do you recommend that I get justice? I feel cheated by BMW as I feel that Ive been sold a faulty car and they are not responding to my email.

I have purchased 3 consecutive BMWs. I love the brand. Ive had my most recent vehicle for 3 months, a 535i, and its a great car. I noticed that one of my door handle trim pieces was missing and the other was loose. I looked for damage and there wasnt any. I went to the dealer and they were very helpful and accommodating. They took pictures, took notice of there not being any damage, and they said they would contact BMW on my behalf. A few days later the dealer called me to let me know that BMW would not offer assistance. The resolution they suggested is that I purchase new door handles plus the cost of programming comfort access because the trim pieces are not sold separately. ($500+ Per Handle.)After, I have spoken to BMW independent of the dealer and they are asking for more pictures. I dont understand this since they already have them. I conclude that the trim pieces have fallen off due to a problem with the adhesive not performing to specs (The trim piece itself is made of plastic with tape strip on the inner side). I am very disappointed that as a loyal customer, I would be dismissed in this fashion. I just spent over $60k for this vehicle.

For people thinking about purchasing a BMW, please read on about how corporate shamefully handled our situation with a brand new 2014 BMW X3. Since mid December, our vehicle has damaged itself by scratching straight through the hood to the bare metal. This happened twice. First incidence, the service manager Marvin at our local dealership (Joel Confer in State College, PA) had no idea how it could have happened and advised we touch up the spot and wait to see if it happened again. Also note that paint residue was on the underside of the wiper assembly (very difficult to touch in regular operation). Marvin agreed that this was very strange. Within a month and a half, the same exact spot was scratched through right through to the metal again. This time, the paint residue was on the top of the wiper assembly. The second time, we sent the vehicle back to Sun Motors in Mechanicsburg, PA (original purchase location) for an official corporate inspection. Waited a week and a half to hear back and then it was claimed that there was nothing mechanically wrong with the wiper so they would not be doing anything except to re-touch-up the area with a touch up paint kit. The spot is not perfectly touched up and the damaged area is still clearly distinguishable. We were also advised against having the entire hood repainted again because it would diminish the value of the vehicle, have to be on record as being repainted for any future trade-ins and the paint job wouldnt be factory perfect.I asked that a resolution team member (Ruth **) look into it as that was an unacceptable response. No one from our family has lifted the wiper blade and the vehicle has been either garaged or kept in our driveway. Wipers have only been operated in rain and NEVER under heavy snow. I asked that if two service departments and corporate couldnt explain why this happened TWICE IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT, how could they write it off as coincidence? Nobody could offer us an explanation or even a firm indication that this wouldnt happen again. No compensation whatsoever was offered at all.BMW corporate resolutions then stated that perhaps someone lifted the hood and/or wipers incorrectly. Again, I responded that no one in our family has done so. Of course, conveniently for BMW, there is no way to prove this since I havent had a video camera on my car at all times since purchase. I stated then that this only left supposedly trained technicians at two different certified BMW dealerships that touched our car. Ruth ** from corporate, then agreed that it could be a possibility that these professionals could have damaged our car, twice. Unlikely but the only explanation offered. End Result: Left with a $50K+ 2014 X3 that apparently hates its own hood. We also need to be paranoid about using our wiper blades. If third instance occurs, we will most likely look into PA Lemon Laws. May simply trade in or sell X3 for a brand that actually has a sense of corporate responsibility. Conclusion? #shouldhaveboughtAudi

After they did the diagnosis, they texted me I need new NVLD pump. I confirmed with them that it is $546 including parts and labor. However, when I came to pick up the car, they charged me $761.89. They told me the additional $215.89 was diagnosis fee. I was wondering why the dealer charge diagnosis fee. Isnt that diagnosis part of the repair procedure. I paid the full amount anyway.I took my car and went on the freeway for couple miles. The check engine light came back on again. I assumed that they didnt test drive after the repair. I ended up to take my car back to the dealer the next day. They did another diagnosis and found a different problem. It was fuel tank venting valve. This time the problem seems fixed. I think I shouldnt pay for the diagnosis fee because I let them repair in same dealership. They didnt told me there were diagnosis fee prior to my authorization of repair. Second, I paid $190 for the fault repair pump which the fuel tank venting valve shouldnt cost that much. My suggestion is that you want to make sure what is total amount you have to pay...
